-When the gods and warriors of humanity had been invited to meet with the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps, after demons led by Muzan invaded Valhalla, they didn’t know what type of person to expect.
-Many thought being the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps, after meeting many of the corps members and the strongest of the bunch, by the title of Hashira, that you were going to be a fearsome warrior, one that drove fear into the hearts of many.
-They were not expecting you, a petite little female, wearing a beautiful dark green yukata with a haori covered in fall maple leaves all over it, being guided in by your much younger siblings.
-The curse that had taken you when you were alive on earth was still apparent on your otherwise beautiful skin, covering your eyes, leaving you completely blind. While you were no longer in pain due to this curse, as you died in your prime, shortly after your eyes were taken, you still carried the curse and were weak as a result.
-Due to your curse, you never had children, it wasn’t safe to do so, but your younger siblings who you died protecting before they followed, were still young enough to be safe from the curse, and they would never be infected as they couldn’t age.
-All members of your corps, including the Hashira, all kneeled, bowing their heads to you, greeting you as the leader and your guests were all quite surprised to see that you were the leader.
-Despite not being a warrior yourself, the warriors under your care and guidance, and Kojiro, a longtime friend of yours, all treated you with so much respect that it was a little unnerving.
-Your voice was gentle, like a ringing bell, it was smooth and calming, “Thank you all for coming, Rengoku, you were the one who came on behalf of these warriors, you may lead this discussion.”
-Rengoku bowed his head to you as your little sisters helped you kneel down onto your floor pillow before they sat on their own pillows behind you.
-You mostly listened, hearing your corps members talking about where the demons had been spotted while the gods and warriors provided layout information of the different pantheons and more information about where the demons are attacking.
-When things started to get heated you lifted a hand and instantly your demon slayers went silence, bowing in apology as you spoke, your voice soothing, “Anger will solve nothing my dear ones, it will only lead to more problems. We’ve been discussing things for a few hours now. Everyone is dismissed for a break.”
-Your corps members thanked you, not willing to argue but Zeus approached you, sitting nearby, “Wouldn’t it be wiser to continue and wrap things up?” you looked in his direction, your smile soft, “I know you and many others, myself included, would like to have a solution to everything at the moment. But taking a break and getting some to eat would refresh our bodies and minds and make it easier to think more clearly.”
-He chuckled softly, stroking his beard, “You are young, but you are very wise. Very well, we shall take a break.”
-The room quickly became quieter as everyone left to go get something to eat or rest and you dismissed your sisters to do the same, Tanjiro beaming at you saying that he would take them with him, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Nezuko, which you smiled softly at, thanking him.
-Once everyone seemed to be gone, you turned your head to the side, “Are you not going with them?”
-He flinched, surprised that you had sensed him so easily as he stood and approached, taking a seat in front of you.
-He was silent for only a moment, “How did you sense me so easily?” you smiled gently, it looked so beautiful, “Losing one of my senses years ago helped me train my others to be more sensitive.” He nodded softly, not bothered before he asked you more questions, asking about the corps and how it was that you were the leader when you were so young. He felt a sort of pull to you, wanting to protect you, keep you safe, you seemed so helpless, but he knew you were anything but. His desire only seemed to grow when he asked why you weren’t married and you gave a soft, humorless giggle, “Not many want to marry a woman who is doomed to die from her curse. I can’t even have children safely without risking myself or the child. I was unmarried on earth, and here I remain the same.” His eyes instantly hardened, feeling anger for you before taking the plunge, “Would you marry me?” you were honestly stunned, lifting a hand to your face, “Oh my- you’re quite bold aren’t you. Please don’t tease me like th-” his hands cupped your own between his, “I’m not joking, I would love you, Y/N. I don’t care if you can’t have children, I only want to love you and be at your side.” your cheeks warmed, turning red as you pulled back, your free hand lifting to hide your mouth, “Hearing you actually say it is so different than seeing it in a precognition vision.” He chuckled softly, relaxing, remembering Brunnhilde mentioning that you were able to see glimpses of the future. His hand was gentle, holding your own, stroking the back of your hand gently as you gave him a small nod, which made him inhale deeply, feeling overwhelmed with happiness, but did nothing other than lifting your hand to his lips, pecking the back of it as he made a promise to make you happy. You knew he was telling the truth, he was going to make you so happy, if he survived your Hashira who were rather protective over you.
-Odin, Poseidon, Hermes, Thor, Lu Bu, Hades, and Jack
-He chuckled softly as he stood, coming over, “You’re quite sharp, aren’t you?” you smiled gently as he took a seat beside you, to look out at the garden, “I could hear your breathing. Having lost my sight helped me strengthen my ears.” He chuckled warmly but nodded softly, not that you could see it, “You’re pretty amazing, Y/N, I hope you know that.” His words took you a bit by surprise, “Oh- you’re very sweet. Thank you.” He chuckled again before speaking, his tone a bit more serious, “But I’m serious, you’re fighting a curse but still leading all of your warriors, and you’re even leading us. You’re so calm!” You felt the breeze drift in from the garden, bring the scent of flowers with it, “A gentle breeze brings no damage, it only soothes, while a gale will only bring destruction and anger. Anger will solve nothing, it will only bring more problems, that’s why I try to keep others calm.” He chuckled softly, putting a hand on your own, surprising you, “Yeah, I get that, and you do it so well. Just sitting here with you, I feel so at ease, it’s almost like we’re married!” you smiled softly, reaching a hand over to his cheek, cupping it after you touched it, “You wouldn’t want to marry someone like me, I can’t even see you, and I can’t have children. You should be with someone who makes you happy.” His hand gripped your own, holding it gently, “That’s for me to decide, Y/N, and you make me happy, I don’t care about having children if I can just be with you.” You were stunned by his words but smiled softly, your eyes closing, “You’re very sweet.” He chuckled warmly, keeping ahold of your hand, but you did nothing to pull it away, it felt so warm, and you felt happy. You could feel what he was feeling, you felt so at ease.
-Loki, Hercules, Nikola, and Qin Shi Huang

Summary: Optimus smiles sincerely, deeply, looking directly into your optics as you say this. “Promise. Promise to find me again,” He stops momentarily, his grip on your hand tightening. “Please.”
You just nod your head with a hum. “Promise.”
ALT [A03]
“I know, I know. ‘I’m sorry for throwing you through the ground bridge’. ‘I’m sorry for getting jacked without you’-” You cut yourself off, seeing the frown on Optimus’ face. “What’s wrong?” Optimus looks at the floor, face twisting while his teeth clench. The metal around his eyes bunches up, a pained expression on his face. He looks over your frame, bright blue optics settling on the mesh gauze around your side. He swears he can see the energon peeking through the seams. For a moment, he closes his eyes.
You can feel the surge of regret and other phrases through your bond, and for a moment, you say nothing. You then shake your head, shuffling around on the floor to face him fully now.
“No,” You start. “You’re not weak. I probably would’ve pissed myself if I had to stay behind like that.” You shake your head before jabbing a finger into his chest. “Just don’t throw me through portals if you’re not gonna follow right after, okay?”
Optimus’ gaze flickers down to look at you, the same expression on his face. “That…was not my intention.”
You’ve never seen him look this pained before. It’s almost suffocating. “I failed to uphold the promise I made,” He starts. “I-”
He stops once more, this time taking your hand in his. Your face softens at this, door wings twitching slightly. You don’t say anything at first. You’re not sure what to say, frankly.
Optimus uses a free hand to touch your cheek and caresses his thumb over your face, stopping midway.
“Prime? You know you can tell me anything, right?” You start. You return to the supplies but don’t let go of Optimus’ hand. It’s an opening, a chance to let Optimus talk. It’s a 50/50 chance that Optimus will, frankly. It’s anyone’s guess if Optimus ever talks about his feelings, especially personal ones. Even more so ones of doubt. Optimus hesitates for a moment, looking down at the floor again. “I…love you,” He says quietly. Silence fills the supply room again. “But our relationship is not…perfect.”
“So?” You reply, turning back with an amused expression on your face. “No relationship is perfect?”
Optimus shifts. “I…am not comfortable with our relationship. You are constantly getting hurt because of me and I-” He cuts himself off again, the other hand curling into a tight fist. “I want you to be happy, and that will not be possible if I am in your life.”
You put a hand over his mouth. “Ah! I have heard that since we’ve been at war thousands of times,” You interject. “I don’t care, Optimus. Even before you knew me, I was a magnet for trouble.” You shake your head. “We’re both magnets for trouble. It’s annoying at best, but I won’t break up with you because I got hurt.”
“I do not wish for you to perish because of my actions-”
“I’m not gonna die, Optimus.”
Silence fills the room again. “I love you, I truly do, but I-I cannot stay in this relationship. I am so sorry.” His tone is quite sad. He can’t even look at you while he says this. If he didn’t have more control over his frame, he’d be crying, begging for forgiveness, to forget this entire conversation. “You deserve better than me. Someone who is not constantly putting you in danger.” Your grip on his hand tightens. “Optimus, what-” “No,” Optimus whispers. “Please listen to me. I am not the right one for you-” “You don’t get to decide that.” You say, you almost snap it. Almost. “I know, I-” Optimus cuts himself off, hesitating again. “I know you love me, but I cannot bear to hurt you any further. I-” “Optimus, for primus sake!” You exclaim. “Where is this even coming from?”
Optimus is silent. He looks at the floor. “Then I shall be honest with you,” He starts. “I am no longer in love with you.” It hurts to say it, and it's a lie that he prays you realize is blatant.
You don’t, based on your expression. “What?” You ask softly. “You’re not-what-why-why are you? When did this even-”
Optimus looks down at his hands. He wants to say something else but knows it will be less believable the more he speaks. He isn’t sure if he wants you to believe him or not. Part of him does if it saves you from the heartbreak. This war will end in one of two ways: his death or Megatron’s. There’s no alternative, no signs of peace. Too much blood has been spilled for forgiveness to be considered.
You swallow thickly at this before your shoulders slump, expression going slack, blank even. You sigh, crossing your arms. “Okay then,” You reply, tone flat. “If that’s all you had to say, then fine. We’re done; good luck with that uh…other person.”
Optimus is failing you. He knows he is. He’s a coward and hates himself for doing this to you and himself. It's the only way, his mind tells him. He has to keep you safe, above all. He has to keep everyone safe. Megatron is cruel and vindictive. The warlord had a habit of killing those Optimus showed affection towards. He can’t think about Ironhide or Prowl. “(Y/N)-” It’s the fact that you don’t even look like you care. “What.” You ask, counting the supplies again. You don’t look at him anymore. You can’t look at him anymore.
“I’m…I love you.” He says. It hurts to say it. It’s never hurt to say it until now. “I will…never stop loving you. I will always love you-” “Not enough to stay, though, right?” You snap. You stand now, handing the clipboard to Optimus. He wishes you shoved it into his chest.
He wishes you smacked him, screamed at him, cried, or did something other than accept this. You move past him.
“I-, wait-”
You stop, hands hovering over the button to open the door, looking over your shoulder—the blank expression on your face. You suddenly look exhausted, years older than you are. You don’t say anything, but he can tell you’re at least listening.
“Please promise to find someone better.” Optimus is desperate, and it's obvious. He clings to you like a drowning man. He’s always done this. He’s stuck to the ones he cares about lest they drift away from him forever, which most do, eventually.
“No.”
“No?” “Yeah, no.” You repeat.
“(Y/N), I do not have the strength to love you how you deserve.”
“So what?” You reply softly, squeezing the bridge of your nose. “I-” “I want you to be happy-” He interrupts.
“I don’t expect you to be 100% always.”
He’s silent, taking in the weight of your words—the truth. He meets your gaze for a moment before looking at the floor again. “I truly have found someone else.”
You seem to freeze at this. He isn’t sure if you believe him or not. He never gets the chance to ask. You just shake your head and walk away.
_______________
You are transferred to another base. A space bridge is secured somewhere along the line, and you leave when another base needs help. You never liked Earth, never seeming to make or have the time to see what Optimus saw in it. You two talk sometimes, but it's mainly just status reports.
Optimus cares too much. When the base gets too quiet and his chest too loud, he reads the reports repeatedly. He knows you wrote it. You use ‘just’ or the word ‘and’ too much while you write.
You stop sending messages a few months later. Intel says that the planet you were stationed on was overrun by Decepticons. The entire section of the earth goes silent for four months straight.
The following status report is positive. The Decepticons were chased off the planet. The losses were many, but the victory was well deserved, as small as it was.
He wants to tell you it was a mistake. He wants to say to you that he loves you still, that he was scared, that if the war ever ended–if he ever managed to kill Megatron, he’d come for him seconds after. He wouldn’t care if the energon was still on his hands.
The words don’t feel enough anymore.
_______________
Megatron dies, killed by Bumble Bee using the Star Sabre. They’ve won. They’ve won, and it doesn’t seem to fully settle in until Optimus waves Megatron goodbye and puts the Allspark in his chest. He feels its thumping in his spark, pulsing wildly. It hurts all the time.
He would jump into the Well; he even had a speech prepared. Ratchet had insisted on a celebration. He woke up in the med bay, with Ratchet begging him not to leave. To wait.
They could find a solution another way. A way where nobody died, where Optimus lived on the planet he fought so hard for.
More and more Autobots are returning to Cybertron, Decepticons with them. Forgiveness can be sought after.
He’s lost. Every arrival of a ship brings hurt. The Allspark’s pain is minor now, minuscule in the broader range of things. He thinks of you. He would have said that one more second of you would be enough for a lifetime, but he knows that’d be a lie. He’d get you, and he’d never let you go again, time be damned.
_______________
Your crew returns to Cybertron a few days after that; they make no mention of you. Optimus doesn’t ask. The ship looks like hot garbage, and the crew seems worse. A combination of Autobots and Decepticons, all wounded, all weary, all tired.
“We couldn’t leave them there.” You say to him, walking across the loading dock. You tie more of the ship to an anchor. “It’s not the Autobot way.”
Optimus just hums. He knows it's just them here, but the calm, monotonic voice you greet him with sends a shiver down his spine. “I thought you were dead.” He blurts out. “I am.” You reply, grunting as you tighten the rope to the ship. You grab another rope. The ship knows how to anchor itself due to its AI technology; everyone else is celebrating. You’ve never been one for parties, but why are you doing a task such as this on your own?
Someone walks past Optimus, straight into your frame. The Allspark sings as Optimus crumbles.
“How?” Optimus asks, tilting his head. He bites his tongue until it bleeds to stop from screaming out.
“A few days after I reported that the Decepticons ran off,” You reply again. “There was a mole; they snuck poison into my energon.”
A painful way to go.
Now Optimus crumbles. Nobody is sure why he cries.
_______________
The Allspark is extracted at the cost of Optimus’ frame. Transferring to another frame is strange. He feels young, some days old the next.
Cybertron flourishes. You stay by his side. Optimus sees campsites turn into cities. The world doesn’t need a Prime anymore, he concludes. He struggles to fit into a world of peace. He’s known violence for so long that he isn’t sure what anything else feels like. He’s forgotten what you feel like.
He sits on the roof of his cabin. A tiny shack in the crystal forests of Rodion. “If you were alive…what would you do?” He isn’t sure if your ghostly form will respond. You do most of the time, but sometimes you don’t.
“Honestly?” You start. Your voice sounds further away now.
Optimus is getting older, but you still look as young as ever. “I’m not sure,” You muse. “I probably would’ve wanted to have a family with you by now if you wanted.”
He can feel his spark hammer in his chest. “Would anyone accept it?”
“Pft,” You snorted. “Yeah, they would. I mean, what’re they going to say? ‘No, you cannot have children with your lover.’” You mock someone. He isn’t sure who.
“But…you would like that, correct? To start a family?” He doesn’t hear your answer due to how much his chest has started to ache. He can’t breathe. He’s never wanted something more than this; being denied it feels suffocating.
“Would you have accepted that idea…if…you were alive?” “Yep.” You reply, popping the ‘p.’ You look back at the stars. “2 sparklings would’ve been great. I’d hope they’d have your eyes, your smile-” You cut yourself off. “Slag, I’d hope they’d look like you more than me, frankly.” “They would have been beautiful,” Optimus admits quietly. His knees draw into his chest, cheek resting against his knee. He can almost picture their faces, what shade of blue their optics would’ve been. Their smiles would scream his face, but their mannerisms and nature quickly picked up on belonging to you.
“Yeah, they would have.” You whisper.
_______________
Optimus is getting older; he can feel his frame dwindling, his spark flickering. It doesn’t hurt physically, but mentally, it takes a toll. He knows death is a natural part of life, but that doesn’t make it less surprising. He doesn’t tell Ratchet; the medic is gone by now anyway. He doesn’t say to Ultra Magnus he can’t worry him. BumbleBee and Smokescreen are too busy. Arcee and Bulkhead are off the planet, and Wheeljack is also gone. He couldn’t bear to be without the medic.
Knowing that he’ll be gone by the time they arrive hurts.
He looks up at you again, sadness dripping from every word. He doesn’t have enough strength to move most days. Optimus lies in his bed in a dark room; the cabin is dirty, not filthy, but dirty in a way that he knows you would’ve complained about if you were here.
You feel young still, even more transparent. He’s forgotten what you look like.
“Why did you stay this long?” He asks quietly.
“I promised not to leave.” You say, voice soft, as if it's in another room or all around him.
Something cold touches his cheek. Optimus only sees the yellow and white spark before him.
“I remember.” Optimus nods. It hurts; he doesn’t want to think about his eventual departure. “Please stay.”
“Of course,” You say softly, tenderly. You’re becoming clearer. “Always.”
Optimus nods; he can feel his optics burning. He blinks a few times. Nothing comes. “What will it feel like?”
“Depends on how you go,” YOu reply with what Optimus thinks is a shrug. “It hurt because I was…well.. poisoned.” You pause. “You’re lucky, dying of old age.”
Optimus doesn’t have enough energy to chuckle. “Do you remember…when I first met you?” He asks softly. “I was nervous, and you were…you were just…”
He doesn’t finish.
_______________
Optimus wakes up in his cabin. He feels lighter somehow, younger, warmer. The house is clean, and the bedroom is different. It isn’t a tiny mattress in the corner of the room. It isn’t near the window facing the forest or skylight. It's bigger, queen-sized, and fit for two.
His mind is fuzzy while he sits up, the blanket slowly falling off his body. He sees you beside him; you are solid for the first time in those lonely 700 years. You continue to type on the laptop for a moment before he turns.
“Hey.”
His optics widen, and he can’t stop the smile from spreading across his features. “You’re not a ghost,” He starts. “What…happened?”
You say nothing, giving him a moment. It clicks. “Sorry.” You mouth.
“Is this the Allspark?” Optimus blurts out. He can feel his optics burn; tears fall this time.
“Not really, more like…something in between,” You reply. You wrap an arm around his shoulder. “It’s…more like a place to come to terms with dying.”
Optimus says nothing, looking at the screen on your laptop. You’re watching a video he doesn’t recognize.
“Then…we go together?”
“Yes,” You smile softly, kissing his forehead. “We can.”
Optimus sighs, his frame relaxing finally. He can feel his metal shifting, flattening itself against his frame in ways it used to before the war. “When we are reborn…will we meet again.” You shrug. “Maybe.”
The word hits Optimus; the implications send a chill down his spine so violently that he has to grab the blankets. “Will we find each other then?” He takes your hand in his own. You squeeze it.
“Maybe.” You whisper.
Optimus smiles sincerely and deeply, looking directly into your optics as you say this. “Promise. Promise to find me again,” He stops momentarily, his grip on your hand tightening. “Please.” You just nod your head with a hum. “Promise.”

Read this first: In the middle of the chapter there's an excerpt narrated from Dave's point of view, even though he tells you before he starts, so watch out!
▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️
I woke up feeling Dave's arm around me and his fingers lightly smoothing my side. I blinked a few times to get used to the light again, my head resting on his shoulder, while he fiddled with his cell phone with his other hand.
I wriggled to get more comfortable in his embrace, and Dave blocked the screen of his cell phone and placed it on his chest with the screen down quickly.
"Good morning princess" - he said softly, sniffing the top of my head
"Good morning" - I replied, still drowsy
"I wanted to make you some coffee, but you were so comfortable that I didn't want to wake you up, or leave your side, really..."
I turned my face to look at him with a silly smile and my chin still resting on his skin.
"Huuuuuuum, coffee... I want some" - Getting up, I stopped sitting on the edge of the bed - "Dave... why were you encrypting a message?"
"What?" - Dave asked calmly as he stood up
"Not that I'm watching what you do, but I saw it when I woke up"
"You're seeing things princess, it's sleep..." - he said coming towards me - "it was a normal message" - taking me by the hand and putting me on my feet
"Dave, I know an encrypted message and..."
Dave silenced me with a kiss, holding my face with both hands, and pulled away from my face.
"Hey, let's have some coffee, shall we? We'll talk about whatever you want later" - pulling me into the kitchen
I sat down on the counter while Dave organized the coffee, he had only spent one night here, but he moved around my apartment as if he knew it perfectly, knowing where everything was kept, meanwhile I fiddled with my cell phone where there were countless messages from Guerrit, I took a deep breath and put my hand to my forehead "I shouldn't have done that..." I thought to myself...
"Coffee with milk, no sugar and a pinch of cinnamon" - Dave placed the mug in front of me and I smiled awkwardly, as I was worried about the messages from Guerrit - "What's up princess?"
Dave asked as he filled his mug with pure black coffee
"Nothing much, just thinking about how much of an asshole I was to Guerrit" - sipping his coffee - "He didn't deserve that, he's a nice guy..."
"Princess, understand that some people are just made for people like you and me to get over them, don't feel guilty because life goes with the flow, and he should be used to it by now" - Dave said calmly as he tucked my hair behind my ear.
"That's a horrible thing to say Dave" - I replied staring at him - "and yes, I do feel guilty, whether you like it or not, he's a human being and..."
Dave snorted debauchedly
"Oh, princess, go on, apologize to him..."
"I will Dave, even more so because I used him to get at you, to prove something to me, it was ridiculous" - finishing my coffee
"And I'm going to tell you" - Dave leaned sideways on the counter on his elbow, looking at me with a wry smile as he held my face with his other hand - "Seeing another man touch you the way I should have done made me furious, but I wanted you a lot more."
"I could tell... you demonstrated that very well yesterday" - I leaned towards him and slipped my arm around his back.
Dave moved closer to me and I brushed my lips against his slowly, I felt his body brush against mine and I stood up as he leaned his back against the counter and placed me facing him, I threw my arms behind his head and felt his arms wrap around my body and hold me against him, I felt his tongue enter my mouth as his right hand went up my back and grabbed me by the back of the neck and forced my head against his, I bit his lower lip pulling him to me and Dave moaned and pulled me tighter, moving his other hand down to my ass where he squeezed one buttock hard, I felt his cock growing between our bodies, I smiled into the kiss as I moved my hand down to reach his erection, I held it tightly making him gasp into my mouth, I smiled leaving his mouth and moving mine to his neck where I ran the tip of my tongue, I stood on my tiptoes and nibbled the tip of Dave's ear as he begged for me in my ear. ..
"I want you so much princess, I've never wanted anyone as much as I want you, I've never wanted anyone so much" - Dave gripped the back of my head tightly, bringing me back to his mouth, and I felt his lips touch mine eagerly in a strong kiss. His breath on my face.
I ran my hands down his back, finding the waistband of his boxer shorts. I pulled away from Dave's mouth and ran my lips down his neck and chest, until I was kneeling in front of him. I began to lower it slowly until his erection sprang out of it, Dave held the base of his dick with one hand and the other he placed on the back of my neck, gathering my hair and holding it tightly between his fingers, I placed my hands on Dave's thighs while he guided my head towards his erection, I closed my eyes until I felt the taste of pre-cum touch my lips, I ran my tongue over the tip slowly savoring its taste, I loosened my jaw a little and felt Dave pushing his entire erection into my mouth slowly, he moaned lowly as he felt my tongue running all over him when he pulled my head back, very slowly. .. He pushed my head back a little more and I felt my lips touch his hand, which was holding the base of his dick, and I felt the tip slip into the back of my throat, making me choke a little. Dave held me there for a few seconds until my eyes watered, and I held his thighs so tightly that my fingernails would leave marks. He moaned and gasped my name, while I moved my mouth down to his base and back, playing with his tongue. I made him release his hand from the base and put mine in place, Dave held onto the counter with both hands. I began to run my tongue up and down, from base to tip, from tip to base, with the support of my hand, I began to massage up and down in the same rhythm as my mouth, while I swirled my tongue around the tip of his dick and gave it little sucks and looked up at him from below and watched as Dave threw his head back and begged me to stop, saying that he wouldn't last long, I just ignored it and swallowed more of him, until I felt my lips tingling and my jaw aching. Dave grabbed me by the back of the neck and forced his dick deep into my throat and fucked my mouth with three more thrusts and I felt his cock grow on my lips and a hot spurt that ran down the back of my throat, Dave groaned loudly as I relished in all the cum pouring into my mouth, the thick strands filling my mouth and his dick throbbing inside, I kept licking until there wasn't a drop left, Dave was still leaning on the counter, his legs a little weak, looking down at me, while I was still kneeling there in front of him. ..
"If I could save one scene" - Dave said breathlessly as he ran his thumb across my eyes, wiping away the small tears that had formed in the corner of my eyes as I choked on his dick - "it would be this one, you with tears in your eyes, your mouth full of my cum, and fucking me" - as he slapped his open palm against his own chest, taking possession of me once more
I smiled as I bit my lip, Dave took me by the hand and helped me up.
"Come on, I want to fuck you in the bath right now" - pulling me by the hand
"No, no" - I let out a laugh - "we have to go, I have to go to the agency, have you forgotten? You'll have to shower alone, angel."
Dave's face lit up and his eyebrows arched in surprise when he heard me call him MY ANGEL. He came back to me and gave me a long kiss, squeezing me to him, and I understood that he liked that nickname.
I watched as he headed for the shower and stayed in the kitchen washing the mugs. I smiled in the corner, feeling a twinge of happiness run through me... I took a deep breath, yes, I was in love with Dave York...

I finished getting ready quickly while Dave was already shouting at me from the living room, he'd been ready for a long time, obviously, the same outfit as always, it was easy for him.
"Come on, I'm ready" - I said, coming into the living room and grabbing my car key and cell phone to put in my bag.
"WOW" - Dave sighed in surprise
"What?" - I smiled awkwardly, fixing my hair - "you said it was a date, is that too much?"
"No, you're just perfect" - Dave said as he looked me up and down, I was wearing a light yellow dress, at my thighs, very loose from the waist down, with a strap that showed off my breasts, my hair was loose and combed, which fell in my face from time to time, a short light jacket in my hands in case it was cold, a white handbag on the side and white sneakers on my feet - "I've never seen you like this... that's it, the only word I can say, perfect"
"Thank you" - I smiled a little sheepishly, but happy with the comment - "The case files, I almost forgot" - I looked for them in the bedroom and we left the apartment in the direction of the building's garage to get the car.
"The key princess" - Dave held out his hand
"No no, I'm driving today" - taking the key out of his bag
"Stop clowning around, give me the key" - Dave said, trying to take the key from my hand.
"I told you, not today" - I swerved so he wouldn't take the key - "I'm driving today, you're always quiet, you'll learn another way to drive"
"You know I can take that key away from you in no time, don't you?" - He said, looking down at me
"Have you forgotten that I've already beaten you up?" - I raised an eyebrow
Dave snorted and went to the side of the passenger door.
"I let you win Rookie" - opening the door and getting into the car
"You're out of breath and red and you let me win? Strange, isn't it?" - Laughing and getting into the car - "buckle up Dave"
I adjusted my seat and the mirrors that Dave had changed, very calmly
"Speed up that carriage princess" - Dave said in a mocking tone
"Calm down, there's just one thing left" - I plugged my phone into the car to put on my playlist.
"No, no music, drive in silence, please" - he pleaded as the music started to play loudly.
"WHAT THE FUCK? I CAN'T HEAR YOU, THE MUSIC'S TOO LOUD"
Dave put his hand to his face, rubbing his forehead, and reached down to smooth his nose, frowning at me.
"Are you ready, grumpy?"
"Half an hour, waiting for the queen to finish..."
"Then hold on..."
Engaging reverse, accelerating and turning the steering wheel with one hand, I changed gear and accelerated again to get out of the garage, all I could see was Dave with wide eyes and looking for somewhere to hold on to in disguise, while I sang and banged on the steering wheel to the sound of the music playing loudly through the car's speakers
"Now I'm walking on sunshine, whoa
I'm walking on sunshine, whoa
I'm walking on sunshine, whoa
And don't it feel good?"
Dave was silent for the entire journey as usual. Until we arrived at the agency, I parked the car inside the building.
"Shall we?"
"Princess, you know that I've served in Iraq, that I've been a mercenary, that sort of thing, don't you?"
"Yes, what's this about now?" - I asked worriedly
"So, I've never felt afraid of dying, until today, with you driving"
"Oh asshole, I thought it was serious..."
"You'll never drive again" - getting out of the car
I picked up the folders and got out of the car. Dave grabbed my hand, which I quickly let go of.
"What are you doing?"
"Taking your hand..."
"Not here" - I whispered
Dave just rolled his eyes
"I forgot we're nothing, aren't we" - pressing the elevator button
"It's not that, this is my workplace and..."
Jacob arrived behind us as the elevator doors opened.
"Rookie? Here to work on your day off? Or did you come to deliver the win for me?"
"Neither, Jacob" - laughing - "just accept that you lost to me, okay? And I just came to drop off some information about the case I discovered yesterday."
We got into the elevator and Jacob stretched out his hand to Dave
"Agent Jacob Dirk"
"Agent Dave York"
"Dave is my old partner at the US agency"
"And you're thinking of coming to work here too, agent?"
"Maybe, or take Rookie away"
The elevator beeped on the floor and we went to our room in silence, everyone was already there, as soon as I entered in front of everyone, Guerrit saw me and smiled
"Rookie, I didn't expect you here..." - Dave came in right behind me and Guerrit's expression changed - "what brings you here today?"
"First of all, good morning, everyone alive? Brigg?"
Brigg nodded as he sank his face into his coffee mug.
"This here is Agent Dave York, from the US agency, my old partner, Jacob you've already met, this is Brigg, that's Lucas and this is Guerrit."
Dave greeted everyone
"I'm sorry I didn't stay with you yesterday, I needed some information that only she could give me."
"Anyway" - I said, trying to cut the tension that was building in the room - "last night I was reviewing the evidence and I realized something" - I put the files I had with me on the table, organizing the photos of the scenes and pointed to each one - "the terrorist cell is against technology, they attack specific places that work without human service."
"So you spent the night working Rookie?" - Guerrit asked, very interested
"Only after we catch up on some things," Dave replied dryly
I rolled my eyes, preferring to ignore them both
"We need to take this to Sylas" - Briggs finally opened her mouth, she made me feel calmer. - "Putting the symbol, the street footage and the motive together, Sylas will find it a lot quicker, let's get it all to him."
"Dave?"
"I'm staying here, what's your table?" - Dave said with a mischievous smile in his corner
I took a deep breath and pointed to it
"Behave yourself," I said quietly, walking past him.
I left the room following Briggs with my heart in my hand.

DAVE'S PERSPECTIVE
I sat in my chair while I fiddled with my cell phone and watched the agents move around me, then I heard a voice in the distance call my attention
"Officer York? Agent?" - it was Lucas, or Jacob, or whoever, I didn't record their names, it didn't make any difference.
"Hello?"
"Coffee?"
"Black and with sugar"
I drank the coffee that one of them brought me while I watched Guerrit from the other side of the central table pinning some evidence to the board. I felt my chest burn, was that jealousy? It couldn't be, but I don't think he'd be crazy enough to want anything to do with her yet, not with me here, he wouldn't dare, I'd finish him off quickly...
"York, what do you think of Holland?" - Jacob asked
For God's sake, he wouldn't shut up, would he? He wanted to talk... I forced a smile
"I haven't had the pleasure of seeing it yet, today we're going for a walk, to Anne Frank's house... but the atmosphere is extremely pleasant."
"You should go to the Botanical Garden too, it's very beautiful, romantic and close to Anne's house"
"Who knows..." - I replied dryly - finishing my coffee
"Are you really thinking of coming here? I think we could use another member of our team."
"Come here?" - Guerrit turned abruptly as he asked
"It's a possibility, Guerrit, isn't it?" - I asked, trying to confirm his name
"Yes, Guerrit" - he replied with a mischievous smile - "and what makes you want to come here? Are the cases in the US not enough or are they too difficult for you?"
"I'm interested in something that's in Europe at the moment" - I laughed, putting my phone to my lips for a moment - "about the cases, they are difficult, that's why some agents flee there, sometimes they need bigger teams to solve the crimes, but... go on, you're almost convincing me to come, go on" - I toasted the empty mug in the air while smiling
"Quite an addition to the team, would everyone agree to your participation?"
"The Rookie would agree" - said Lucas, who quickly shut up at the glare he received from Guerrit.
"Oh yes, the Rookie would accept, that's for sure" - I agreed, winking at Lucas - "or who knows, take her back, you know... for me, for my case"
"Take her? She wouldn't accept, not without finishing the case she has here..."
"Would she?" - with a doubtful face and a shrug - "but after what she's found out, you'll solve the case in no time..."
"And you intend to stay here that long?" - Guerrit asked
"I don't know, maybe I'll help the case go even faster, maybe I'll just stay here" - I stood up, taking the mug to the side of the coffee pot.
"So we'll still have many of these pleasant conversations?" - Guerrit asked
"Actually, I prefer it when you don't talk, but I can tell you love to talk" - I sat down on the edge of the center table - "go on, tell me about the case, tell me about the city..."
"Rookie's a genius, she's been finding most of the evidence" - said Jacob - "she even beat me this past week"
"Yeah, she's pretty smart, isn't she? And sweet" - added Guerrit - "I just don't know if she makes good choices sometimes..."
"Didn't I understand you? Choices? Like last night?" - I sat down at the table and arched an eyebrow
"Maybe, nothing much, sometimes she just doesn't see that she has better options..."
"Oh yeah, I get it... Like you?"
"Maybe, maybe not... but it's good for her to know that when you're gone, she doesn't have to be alone..."
"And who says she needs someone?" - I stood up calmly
"And who says she doesn't? Such a sweet, gentle girl, alone in a strange country, maybe she needs someone to look after, a friend, don't you think?"
"I agree, but it's not by trying to grab this sweet girl on the dance floor that you'll be able to win her over, don't you think?"
"I agree too, but you've already guaranteed me something I wanted" - Guerrit said pursing his lips - "and you know, we've got time" - Guerrit shrugged, turning away.
I felt my blood run hot and my face burn, but I didn't express any reaction as I walked back to her table, past Guerrit.
"I don't need to be close for her to say she doesn't want you" - I put my hand on his shoulder - "but you're convincing me more and more to stay here, you know that?" - I lightly squeezed his shoulders twice with my hands
I felt the tension take over when Guerrit faced me and I could see the hatred in his gaze, and I just loved seeing him like that, I smiled in a corner as I wiped my hand across my mouth, he moved towards me to say something, but a familiar voice interrupted us
▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️
PERSPECTIVE READER
When we got to Sylas' room, my hands were sweating, thinking about what could happen without me in that room, Dave has a big mouth, what if they argued? What if they got into a fight? I don't think it would come to that...I hope
"Rookie?"
"OI" - I replied, my eyes widening.
"Show Sylas what you're researching, are you all right? You're out of it again, is it because of your old partner? What about yesterday in the pub?"
"Brigg, one question at a time, calm down and don't make me more tense than I already am"
I handed the files to Sylas and explained what we were looking for, while he did the research Brigg and I stood by the door.
"Now tell me, Rookie"
"You have nothing to tell, do you?"
"Is he your boyfriend? If so, why did you kiss Guerrit? That's not cool"
"NO NO, we're not boyfriends, it's... it's complicated Briggs, and about Guerrit I need to apologize to him, it wasn't nice, and there's no one to blame but myself"
"Blame it on the drink, girl" - Brigg laughed - "But come here, this complicated one of yours" - she leaned closer to ask - "is it a very horny complicated one?"
"BRIGG?" - I laughed - "No, it is... then"
"Girl, stop it, he's a cat, he's got a bad face, and you're very cheerful today, your skin is glowing"
"BRIGG stop it" - I hid my face with my hands in shame - "again, it's complicated, we're, I don't know, understanding each other, let's leave it at that..."
"That's sweet, but tell me something, you're not thinking of leaving us, are you?"
I just looked in her direction
"Oh no, he's leaving on his own" - she spoke louder
"Shhh, keep it down Brigg" - putting her hand in front of her mouth - "he needs my help, and again, it's complicated, I can't tell you"
"You trust him, don't you?"
"With my life, but the funny thing is that I shouldn't" - with a faraway look in his eyes
"I don't understand" - asked Brigg
"Again, it's complicated"
"How complicated, my goodness... Well, I hope it gets easier and you'll tell me all about it one day"
"Let's hope" - I said, turning to Sylas's computer, which had found the terrorist cell's manifesto against technology, and images from the street cameras of two elements marking the points before the explosions.
Arriving in the living room, I saw Dave and Guerrit staring at each other
"BOYS?"
They both turned towards me a little surprised
"Is everything all right?"
"Everything's great, I was just getting to know your Rookie team, they're very... good agents..." - Dave said awkwardly
"Yes, yes, Agent York too, a great agent, he was telling me when he's leaving," said Guerrit.
"You guys look really strange" - looking at Jacob and Lucas who were laughing at the back of the room.
"But Rookie, did you get anything from Sylas?" - Guerrit said approaching
"Yes, yes" - putting the papers on the table and tidying up - "We found their manifesto, which just looking at it is worrying, we also have these photos from the street cameras that we're going to try to find the faces in the system, but we already understand that the marks are to mark the location of the explosion, they're placed beforehand. That's it."
"Great, you're brilliant"
"Thanks, do you need me to stay? Because if you do, I'll stay and read the manifesto so we can understand their little minds..."
"No Rookie, your day off, you've earned it" - said Briggs - "go show your... friend around" - she said smiling
I rolled my eyes at her
"Okay guys, Dave you wait for me in the car, there's something I still need to do" - handing him the key
"Don't be long" - taking the key - "Rookie's team, it was nice to meet you, Brigg, take care of her while I'm gone" - kissing her hand which made her happy - "Guys, we had a great chat, we'll have to do this more often" - walking out the door, I knew him well enough to understand the sarcasm in his voice.
I approached Guerrit
"Can we talk?" - I whispered to him
"You don't have to say anything Rookie..." - he replied without looking at me
"Please, Guerrit, I'll wait for you in the corridor" - I picked up my bag - "Bye, guys" - I waved my hands - "Bye, Briggs, see you on Monday" - she stood up and hugged me
"See you on Monday, your skin will be brighter than the sun" - she whispered in my ear.
"Bye girl" - I burst out laughing
I leaned on the window frame in the corridor waiting for Guerrit who didn't take two minutes to leave the room, he stopped in front of me with his hands in his pockets looking at the floor.
"Guerrit, I don't even know where to start..."
"You can start by not lying to me"
"But I've never lied to you, why is that now?"
"Is he your boyfriend?"
"No, he's not my boyfriend"
"But you're together? Aren't you?"
"Technically yes, and no, it's complicated, but I really wanted to..."
"Apologize for the kiss?"
"Yes, I crossed a line I shouldn't have..."
"Actually, you used me to make him jealous..."
"It wasn't really jealousy, it was something else, which could be much worse, and from the bottom of my heart, I'm sorry"
"But did you kiss me because you were attracted or just because I was, shall we say, within your reach?"
"Guerrit, don't ask me these questions, I'm just sorry, so we can move on, it was a night out, drinks..."
"Rookie, pay attention, I don't mind, really, I loved the kiss"
"Huh?" - I twisted my face in astonishment
"Seriously, out of jealousy or some other stupid attitude that's been going through your head, I got a kiss from you, and I've wanted it for weeks" - he took my hand and held it between both of his - "I don't know what's going on between you and that guy, but when he leaves, I'll be here"
"Guerrit" - letting go of my hand - "I'm sorry, but there's no such thing as when he leaves, we're sorting ourselves out, I think..."
“Quando você resolver então conversamos” - Guerrit beijou minha testa - “até segunda” - e saiu
I sat there, a little shocked by what had just happened
"Wow, that's weird" - I thought out loud
▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️
Dave was already waiting for me, leaning against the car impatiently, so I climbed straight into the back seat and threw my bag in the back.
"Shall we?"
Dave looked inside the car from outside, his body bent over without understanding anything
"Are we going or not?" - I asked again
Dave got into the car, sat down, took my hand
"What happened to the princess?"
"Tell me, what did you talk about?"
"Nothing much, we exchanged a few words, about you being intelligent, about the possibility of me coming to this agency..."
"You're not coming, are you?"
"Not really" - Dave snorted with laughter - "but it was funny that Guerrit thought so" - Dave laughed as he stroked my hand - "and how did it go with you?"
"Weird, to say the least, I apologized and he agreed, he said he liked it..."
"Of course he liked it, your mouth is delicious" - Dave said giving me a quick kiss - "but it's mine, tell him that"
"What about you, Dave?"
"Me what?" - Dave said, fastening his seatbelt and starting the car.
"Are you mine?" - I looked in his direction, his eyes on the windshield, as if I were thinking about the answer or the consequences of the answer he would give me...
Dave turned off the car, unbuckled his seatbelt and turned to me, pulled me by the face and kissed me, a kiss that was slow and strong at the same time, he pulled away with his eyes closed and sighed deeply
"Princess... I..."
My heart felt like it was going to explode, I'd never felt like this for any man, I could feel my palpitations jumping on my skin, it was only a few seconds of silence, but it felt like minutes, hours
"Dave" - I called his name softly, putting my hands on his, which were holding me by the face.
"I am, I am yours" - Dave gave me two more kisses
And I finally let out the air I'd been holding in my lungs, he was mine too...
"Shall we enjoy our day?"
"Let's" - I smiled happily - "what are you up to today? It's sunny and rare..."
"Shopping, I need clothes, I need to buy a razor" - I wiped my hand across my face - "this beard is already bothering me"
"Dave, there's nothing there, it's not even scratching properly..."
"But it bothers me too much, I need a shave, so pharmacy, clothes, I told you" - starting the car to leave - "I thought we'd have lunch there and then go to Anne Frank's house, then take a walk in the Botanical Garden, which I heard today is very romantic and then have dinner in a nice restaurant, me and you, have some wine..."
"Maybe a little dancing?" I added.
"That's one thing you'll never see me do, princess" - he laughed
"We'll see" - I replied and leaned back in the seat as Dave drove off, and as soon as he got out, Dave put his hand on my leg and I put my hand on his, and we drove off...
▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️
At the mall, we each went our separate ways and arranged to meet at the food court after an hour. I also wanted to buy a few things, to take advantage of the fact that I was at the mall
I bought a few more blouses for work, some large t-shirts that I loved to wear to sleep or read in while I was at home all day, and some personal hygiene items.
I went to a store to buy some new underwear, my current ones weren't very sexy for the occasions that had been taking place over the last few days, as I've always been a fan of comfort, so I've always preferred shorts, but now, my wardrobe had to change a little...
I picked out a few sets and decided to buy something special for him... Did Dave deserve it? Yes, he's mine, and I was already planning something special for him when I saw a beautiful wine and black set, which I picked up without even looking at the price.
...
I bumped into Dave on the way to the food court
"There you are" - he sneaked up behind me with his hand on my waist
"Hi my angel" - looking at how different he looked - "WOW"
"What?"
"Now it's my turn, I've never seen you like this, in jeans and a T-shirt, showing off those arms... WOW..."
"Stop clowning around, did you get everything you needed?" - Dave asked as he took my hand
"Even more than I should have."
"Let's eat, I'm starving, we haven't eaten anything today..."
We sat down to eat, and talked like we'd never talked before, he told me about his time in the navy, how much he loved being on board, he talked about the girls, Molly and Alice, he said he wanted me to meet them, he told me about his time in combat, I'd never seen him so talkative, and I just watched him admiring, I told him about my father, why I wanted to pursue a career, about my time serving in Iraq and Syria, I told him I didn't want to go again if they called me up, that it took me more than a year to recover from everything that happened in Syria. ..
Dave had always wanted to visit and as we walked around the house and up to the attic I told him the details I'd read in Anne Frank's diary, I showed him the places according to the book and he marveled at everything.
"I've never been on a trip like this, I've been all over Europe, but always on business"
"That's exactly what I wanted to ask you, how do you intend to spend your days here? And the boss?"
"Lying, saying I'm in Belgium solving the case" - he smiled and pulled me by the arm - "come on, I think this place deserves a photo of us"
"Photo? You look very strange Dave York, what have they done to you?"
"Are you going to take a picture or are you just going to stand there?"
"Now I am..."
We took a few selfies and the tour was over, we had to leave, the Botanical Gardens were half an hour's walk from where we were, we walked there hand in hand...
"Princess, I wanted to tell you a few things..."
"About the encrypted message from this morning?"
"What? It wasn't..."
"Dave..."
"Okay, but it's not about that now."
"Well?"
"Do you remember Savannah?"
"Yeah, what about her?"
"She asked me out..."
"And you said..."
"No, but I thought you should know, especially when you get back."
"Savannah has always wanted you, my angel, I knew it would happen, but you say you're just mine..."
"And you didn't tell me why?"
"Because I wanted you all to myself"
"I like that answer" - Dave said, putting his arm around me and hugging me from the side.
"Now tell me about the message..."
"You won't forget it, will you?"
"Not at all" - we were already in the garden and Dave stopped, put both hands in his pockets and looked around.
"Princess, I can't talk about this with anyone, but we're investigating some people within the agency linked to the women's mafia and Richard Bayle, they're working for him, the message you saw was encrypted for another agent who is helping in the investigation, and for that same reason I disappeared for a week, we're suspicious of my new partner too.
"Are you in danger, Dave?"
"I always am, we always are, on this job..."
"You're not coming back without me, you know that, don't you?"
"Princess, the last person I want getting involved in this is you" - Dave said tucking my hair behind my ear - "apart from seeing you, I wanted to know if you were safe, what your house was like, I've already installed sensors and two cameras there while you were asleep"
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN, DAVE? How come I didn't wake up to the noise?"
"You slept like a rock, and I didn't even make that much noise, I didn't want to wake you, but nothing dangerous or stalkerish, it's for your own safety"
"But I can take care of myself Dave"
"I know you know, but I would never survive if I knew I could have protected you and I didn't" - taking me by the hand - "now let's get on with our day, I don't want to talk about it anymore, this is no place for that"
"Is that why you didn't want to talk about it at home? Last night, about it?"
"Exactly, I had to do a sweep there, I did one at Carol's house too to protect the girls, and so did she..."
"Yes, of course, I'll help you Dave, when I went to ask Lieutenant Jones for the transfer, he told me that this was the case that would help you get back and that you needed my help, but I was too angry and selfish, I'm sorry..."
"Hey hey, none of that, I don't judge you or think what you did was wrong, you were within your rights, after knowing everything I did, people have no reason to trust me, and I understand..."
"But I do, my angel..."
"I wanted to tell you that I loved hearing you call me my angel, I liked the contrast between how you see me and how the rest of the world sees me, which is totally the opposite..." he gave a silly smile
"That's what you are to me, and I really want you to understand that, you once told me that you weren't a bad person, and I believe that now, I see it now"
Dave didn't say anything, he hugged me around the waist and lifted me up until my mouth met his and we kissed in the middle of the Botanical Gardens, not caring who was around, in our heads there was only him and me in that place.
▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️
It was just after 7pm when we arrived at the restaurant Dave had chosen. It was on the way from where we had left the car, and he knew the places better than I did, having been there for months.
The atmosphere was cozy and pleasant, we sat at a reserved table in the corner, in the half-light, a great mood to complete the day we'd had.
"Can I choose for you princess?"
I nodded my head as he read out the menu, Dave clasped his hands in the air to summon the waiter and placed our full order for the evening, including a bottle of wine.
We ate and talked for a few more hours until we emptied the bottle, I was already laughing by myself and Dave was enjoying watching me, a slow song started to play and I stared at him with wide eyes as I drank from the last full glass.
"No, not really"
"Oh come on, please" - standing up and holding out my hand to him
"Princess, it's not that I don't want to... I can't dance, I don't like it" - Dave said awkwardly with his elbows on the table
"For meeeeee, just this one, I swear if you step on my foot I won't complain" - smiling sheepishly
"You're not going to give up, are you?"
I shook my head no and Dave snorted, threw his napkin on the table, grabbed my hand and got up, heading towards the space where other couples were dancing, we hugged and just swayed to the music that was playing in the background, I put my hands on the back of his neck and rested my head on his chest and felt his strong breath on the top of my head while his right hand stroked my hair, Dave really didn't know how to dance and the third time he stepped on my foot, he wanted to go back to the table…
"Boring, it didn't even hurt..."
"I didn't even dance at my ex-wedding princess, but sit here - Dave said pulling my chair to his side - "I want to give you something..."
Dave took a little cloth bag with a string out of his pocket - he pulled my hand out and put it in my palm.
"Dave..."
"Open it..."
I opened the bag and took out a bracelet with a pendant, Dave took it from my hand and turned it over to put it on my wrist
"I picked it out at the mall today, when I saw it I thought of the two of us, so you have to promise me that you'll never take it off again" - closing the bracelet on my wrist and adjusting it
"Dave, I... I... I love it, I'm not taking it off" - I raised my hand to see the pendant - "a windmill?"
"Yes, so we can always remember that it was here, in Holland, that we worked out..."
"Dave" - I whispered his name as I leaned towards him, held him by the face and pressed my mouth to his in a passionate kiss - "come on, I've got a gift for you too"
"Really?" - Dave said surprised
"Yes, but it's in the trunk of the car and I can only deliver it to you at home"
"I'll pay the bill..."

Look sometimes you overflow with feelings and inflict them on your favorite characters so you don't have to feel everything by yourself.
--
Dorothea had just finished readying for bed when there came a knock at her door. She had been expecting this particular knock all evening, and so was not surprised to find Ferdinand looking sheepish in the hallway. Putting on a banal smile, Dorothea said, “Why, Ferdie! To what do I owe the pleasure?”
“Good evening, Dorothea. Um, could we speak?”
Dorothea stepped aside to let him through. Though she still didn’t feel quite settled into her rooms here in the Enbarr Palace just yet, she at least had a tea table and two chairs set by the bay windows. Said windows were dark now, with only a few scattered dots of torchlight outside, but Ferdinand still took a seat there expectantly. Dorothea sat across from him.
Without any preamble whatsoever, Ferdinand said, “How did you know I am— that I had feelings— that I felt that way about Hubert?”
“Oh my, how red your cheeks are! You’re just adorable, Ferdie.”
“Dorothea, please.” He looked away, pulling at his collar. “You said you had known for two years. Exactly what is it you noticed?”
Ever since their chat this morning during their usual garden walk, Dorothea had known this conversation was coming. Still— she made a show of running her fingers through her hair, trying to select a handful of incidents from the two or three dozen she had cataloged over the years that Ferdinand would find indisputable. Though a skilled fighter and an exemplary advisor to Emperor Edie, he did wear his heart on his sleeve a fair bit.
“Well,” she began after she felt her silence had tortured him long enough, “you treat him differently than the rest of the Eagles.”
“In what way?” He sounded almost offended.
“You talk about different things. You have private rituals together. Have you ever thought to invite me to one of your coffee and tea dates under the oak tree?”
Ferdinand shifted in his seat. “Those are not dates.” He countered. “And anyway, aside from Edelgard I have known Hubert the longest out of all of you. We share the task of keeping the Empire from ruin—it makes sense that we talk about ‘different things’ than I do with the other Eagles.”
“How about when you gave him that expensive coffee?”
“I give people gifts all the time. I recall making you cookies before we were even properly friends!”
“Yeah, but you weren’t half as nervous to give me the cookies as you were to give him the coffee.” When Ferdinand didn’t deny that, Dorothea chuckled. “How did it take you so long to figure this out for yourself? If you could see the way you look at him, Ferdie, it would have been obvious to you too.”
Ferdinand set his elbows on the table and covered his face with both hands, letting out a truly helpless-sounding groan. It was adorable to see him so flustered. Dorothea almost told him so again but held back. Instead she let her grin widen as Ferdinand peeked at her between his fingers.
“Do you think he knows? If I have been that obvious…”
“I don’t think so. When it comes to love, Hubie can be pretty clueless.”
“Thank the Goddess.” Ferdinand sat back in his chair. His face was impossibly redder. “The Horsebow Moon ball is in less than a month.”
Dorothea’s eyes narrowed. “Don’t try and change the subject.”
“That is not my intention. I only mean that the ball is the next social event Hubert and I are both required to attend. There is every chance that I will slip and reveal myself.” Ferdinand stood, a determination taking over his expression with the abruptness of cold water. “I shall have to redouble my efforts to move past my affections.”
“Redouble? Ferdie— Ferdinand!”
For he had started marching away towards the door. Jumping to her feet, Dorothea grabbed his arm. “What makes you think you have to get over Hubert?”
Ferdinand looked back, tone stiff as he stated, “It is not worth the risk. We work closely together. If I upset that balance—”
“You might not!” Dorothea put a hand to Ferdinand’s cheek, willing his face to soften again. “He might feel the same way! Or, at worse, you’ll have a few awkward conversations and be done with it. It’s not healthy to bury something like this. The Empire won’t collapse if Hubie finds out!”
“Perhaps not but…” Ferdinand turned his gaze from hers. “Knowing how I feel will put him in an awkward position. It has taken so long for us to get this comfortable with one another— suppose knowing how I feel puts distance between us? I cannot risk our friendship. I cannot put him through such unnecessary turmoil. I… I care about him too much to do that.”
Dorothea cupped his cheeks with both hands now, forcing Ferdinand’s eyes back to her own, prepared to make every argument against that. But she stopped when those copper eyes met hers. “Oh, Ferdie… You look heartbroken already.” Ferdinand stepped out of her grasp. Dorothea let him, chest tight in sympathy. “You know, you can’t put him through worse than anything that happened during the war,” Dorothea tried one last time.
Ferdinand shook his head. “These things pass. It’s not worth troubling him over. Good night, Dorothea. Thank you for the talk.”
Then Ferdinand stepped through the door, and disappeared into the palace hallways.
Frustration bubbled up alongside pity inside Dorothea. She strode forward to close and locked the door, far less amused than when she had first opened it. Flopping down on her bed, Dorothea let out a too-long sigh, letting her eyes slip shut. “He’s usually such a brave little bee,” she muttered into the stillness of her room.

Spring Stars! (Part 2) A Date By Any Other Name!
(2003 Donatello x Sasha Fic)
✨💛💜✨
Author’s Note: Holy shit, it’s been a hot minute since I made Part one! I just wanna say a quick thank you (and a very big sorry) to those of you who read it! Means a lot to me that you even attempted to sit through my garbage writing! And now, you’re here looking for more punishment, and deliver it I shall! Plenty of OCxCC ship trash to go around, and more art with it too! Also, MAYBE a slight CW on this one for mentions of possible Spicy thoughts & a little angst! Other than that, it’s all just some fun character interactions! There will also probably be one more part to this story because I love torturing myself, and I can't seem to make anything easy! So enjoy! :3
✨💛💜✨
“Is this a… date?”
The question felt like a switch being flipped, turning the world around them into nothing. Donnie froze, feeling his heart start to pound. He hadn’t really planned for this kind of question, and to him this didn’t FEEL like a date. Though, thinking back on what he had in mind for this outing, it did seem like one. The idea making his face burn even more. But, he had to be honest, the look on Sasha’s face was more studious, and she’d surely be able to tell if he was trying to lie.
“W-we don’t have to call it that just because tht’s what everyone else does. It can be a j-just two friend having fun and getting to know each other better!” Donnie said, nervously smiling as he gulped. Sasha chuckled a little while an unsure grin came to her lips, “That sounds like a date though…” “Fair…” Donnie admitted. There was another pause between them, Sasha now looking at the floor again, then back up at Don. She approached him, getting in so close that Don felt the need to back up, but he stood his ground. While not being much taller then Donnie, Sasha’s stature always made it seem like she was bigger then him. This was a test, and she stared him down to see if there were any signs of wavering. And he just stared back.
“So…what do you say?” Donnie asked, trying to break the silence. Sasha tucked her bottom lip in a bit, her eyes not leaving him. The look in her eyes was thoughtful, then she opened her mouth to speak.
“YO GUYS! WHAT’S THE ETA ON THAT POPCORN? YOU TWO LOVE BIRDS DONE YET?”
The interruption from Mikey calling out for them, along with the ensuing swoons from others mocking them as well, made them both quickly jolt back from one another. Sasha actually seemed rather pissed off by it and she growled back, “ROME WASN’T BUILT IN A DAY! AND NEITHER IS GOOD POPCORN! JUST SETTLE YOUR SHELL!” The others could be heard laughing in the background. Sasha caught her breath and hissed a bit in irritation, before sighing, looking back at Donnie with a disappointment look. “W-we’ll talk more after the movies. Okey?” Donnie had caught his breath too, but now looked disappointed. “S-sure…”
With that the two finished making the Popcorn, and finally came out to the living room where everyone was waiting to start the movie. “Bout time you two joined us! Donnie burn something again?” Raph teased. “Nooo, he actually did quite well. Though maybe it would’ve been done faster if SOME turtles had tried helping out!” Sasha chastised, only to be met with the remaining three turtles looking away, whistling a tune. Sasha rolled her eyes, looking over to April, hoping to get some actual conversation going! “Soooo, did you guys finally decide what to watch? I’m pretty curious!” April nodded, putting in a DVD, “Yep! Casey’s movie is the first!” “Booyah! You’re gunna love it! You’re from like, the desert and stuff, right? The Mummy is the best horror film ever!”
Donnie placed down a few bowls of popcorn onto the coffee table, as Sasha moved over to the side of the couch, still holding a huge bucket of popcorn for herself and Leatherhead. “The Mummy? What’s so scary about Mummies?” She seemed genuinely confused. “You don’t think they look creepy! Dead bodies wrapped in bandages, trying to eat your brain!” Casey argued, getting up and out of his seat and lunging at Sasha playfully, imitating a mummy. Sasha’s ears tilted back, and she stepped back from him, “Yeah…mummies aren’t like that at all! Having seen some up close, they’re more fascinating then anything. You humans are spooked by the weirdest things…”
Casey scoffed, sitting back down and crossing his arms, “Says the girl who can’t look at a kiddy pool without getting shaky…” He muttered under his breath to April, who rolled her eyes at him. “What was that Jones?” Sasha hissed as she turned her head to look back at him, her ears still back. “N-Nothin’! Nothin’ at all!” He scrambled to keep her from jumping him, April and the others having to stifle giggles. “That’s what I thought…” Sasha huffed, turning her attention on trying to find a seat.
Sasha quickly noticed that all the seats where taken on the couch and chairs, with only Leatherhead sitting on the ground, as he was far too big to sit on anything really. As small as she was, she still didn’t like the idea of having to squeeze into any of the seats, getting a little too close for comfort with anyone. But he didn’t need to worry as Leatherhead patted his lap, sitting cross legged on the ground. “It’s easier to share popcorn this way.” He said, giving her a warm and toothy grin. Sasha thought nothing really about it, and agreed. Walking over to him and plopping herself down in his lap. Being this close to Leatherhead was pretty normal to her, having spent plenty of nights by his side, calming him down from his nightmares and helping him get to sleep. However, it was a new sight for a certain terrapin ninja. Donnie had scooted into the couch next to Mikey and Honeycutt, and if she had asked, he would’ve gladly moved to the floor. But instead, here he was, staring at his crush in the lap of another large male mutant!
The normally levelheaded turtle had to admit to himself, it made his heart sink and his blood boil. Truthfully he’d always envied, to some degree, how close Leatherhead was to Sasha. She lived with him, spent most of the day with him, and judging by how comfortable she was touching him and sitting in his lap, spent a lot of time getting…cozy with him. As the movie started on the TV, Donnie started to feel a bit sick, watching Letherhead and Sasha in the corner of his eyes. He’d hold out his hand, and Sasha would take a bit of the Popcorn and place it into his palm.
“Why isn’t she like that with us? With me?”
And after she left his offer for a date unanswered, it made this even harder to watch.
✨💛💜✨
Movie after movie, the night continued, until it was time to start getting to bed. Everyone set up sleeping bags, pillows, and blankets in the living room. Casey and April shared the couch, Mikey and Donnie taking up the Lazyboy chairs, and the others all scattered along the floor. All except Honeycutt who decided to return to Leatherhead’s lair. While getting ready for bed, Donnie ran into Leatherhead, who was washing the bowls and cups they had used all night. “Oh, Donatello! I need to ask you, which soap do you tend to use for your dishes? The Green Apple scent or the Original?” Leatherhead asked, turning his head to see his turtle friend standing in the doorway. Donnie was stunned for a moment, as he wasn’t sure how to feel. His voice was caught between wanting to snap at him cause he was still upset about Sasha. But the more rational side of him told him to cool it for now. He shrugged, “Oh uhhhh, I think we use Original…” he replied, sounding a bit mopey as he crossed the room and grabbed a cup from the cabinets, doing his best to not make eye contact. But Leatherhead noticed immediately, “What is wrong my friend? You seem upset.” Donnie stayed still, staring at the cup in his hand, trying his best to not snap at him, debating on whether or not to say anything.
“I really don’t have the right to be upset. I don’t own her…” Donnie said flatly. His eyes flew wide open, and he gasped a bit at what just came out of his mouth. He really didn’t wanna say it out loud, but it just…came out. Even Leatherhead was a little spooked, it was a tone he had never heard from his terrapin friend. He sounded almost, bitter and childish. “What are you talking about? You don’t own who?” As soon as he said it, it’s like the answer came right to the front of his mind, but it still didn’t make sense. “Are you…talking about Sasha?” Hearing her name come from Leatherhead’s mouth brought Donnie back to reality, and brought back his earlier frustration. That’s when he finally looked up at the taller reptile, with a face that made Leatherhead actually step back for a second. “Look, Leatherhead. I-I…need you to be honest with me!” Donnie started, he looked like a mixture of determination, worry, and possibly anger. “Of course my friend…” Leatherhead’s brows turned down in concerned confusion.
Donnie sucked in a breath, clenching his fist before finally breathing out, a slight shake coming from the puff of air. “Are and Sasha…involved at all?” The words felt painful coming from his lips, the meaning of which almost made a tear come to his eyes. Even his voice hitched as he spoke. He trusted Leatherhead so much, he was one of his closest friends. For sure he knew how he felt about Sasha, even without being told directly! And if he was having a relationship with her while knowing this, it was a betrayal on a level he hadn’t dealt with before. Leatherhead’s eyes went wide as the words finally met his ears, his jaws gaping open in an attempt to speak. “W-what? Have you gone mad?” “Just please answer me Leatherhead!” Donnie snapped back, he was trying his best to sound tough, like he wasn’t about to cry. And still trying not to be heard by the others. “I-I don’t know what you’re going on about friend! What Sasha and I have is purely platonic. Nothing more! Where on earth would you get the idea otherwise?” Leatherhead asked, but Donnie didn’t answer back, he just stood there, keeping eyes contact with him. That’s when it hit him.
“This is about her sitting on my lap…” he stated, his voice starting to sound less startled and more cold. If the Croc was being honest, he was kinda offended by the implications this question brought on. “And the touching and the feeding you popcorn…” Donnie added, starting to sound a bit more argumentative. A growl started to form in Leatherhead’s voice now, “You can’t be serious Donatello! I would never-“ Before he could finish his words, Sasha’s voice coming from the doorway spooked both of them. They whipped their heads to see Sasha standing there clutching a couple of chip bags that were now rolled up and clipped shut. She had a confused look on her face, looking back and forth between the two. “Did I interrupt something?” She asked.
“So…she didn’t hear anything…”
The thought alone made Donnie relax a little bit and he stammered out a response. “N-No nothing really.” Sasha squinted a bit at him, then looked at Leatherhead, who straightened up at her gaze. “Yes, nothing really too pressing.” Yeah, she didn’t buy that for a second, looking back and forth between the two again. “Alright then…well…I’ve got these leftover chips. Where would you like me to put them Donnie?” She asked. Donnie stuttered a bit but approached her “I’ve got it for you!” He took them from her arms and walked over to a random cabinet and shoved them in there. “Ah! I s-see…thanks…” Sasha said, feeling a little weird now. It was clear the two were in the middle of a conversation, one she wasn’t welcome to, so she made herself scarce. Sasha then stretched and yawned, “Well then, I’m just gunna…uhh start getting our blankets ready Leatherhead!” She chirped. “Thank you Sasha! I’ll be over to help in a minute!” Leatherhead nodded her way, prompting the turtle to give him a side glance. Sasha nodded back, giving the two of them another look before walking off.
There was silence once more between them, before Leatherhead huffed and looked back down at Donnie. The Turtle already looking back up at him. “I don’t know what is going on with you my friend, but I’d never willingly hurt you. I’d hope that after what happened with bishop and your transformation, I would have proven myself more then loyal to you and your brothers.”
“Ouch…he really had to go there…”
Donnie bristled a bit at that. It had happened a while back. And while he didn’t remember anything that happened during it, from everything Leatherhead and his brothers told him, he was a lot to deal with. He didn’t know if Sasha had been told the story of that or not, but the thought of her knowing made him cringe a bit. With that, Leatherhead went back to the dishes, turning his back to Donnie.
✨💛💜✨
After getting something cold to drink from the fridge, Donnie left the kitchen to see everyone getting settled down for the night. Including Sasha, who was making a big spot on the floor for Leatherhead. A smaller spot lay right next to it. Sasha, looked up for a split second to see him staring. Her face becoming a bit flustered. Donnie bit his lip and quickly walked over to his bedroom. Raph happened to look up and see him making a beeline for his room and let out a quick “Yo Donnie!”, prompting the purple clad turtle to stop dead in his tracks, squeezing his eyes shut in embarrassment. “What are you doing? We agreed on a full crew sleep over!” He had to think fast, come up with an excuse, any excuse that would keep him out of the same room where Sasha and Leatherhead would be laying together.
“Oh uhh, yeah I know! I-I was just gunna work on something real quick, just till I get sleepy! Then I’ll join you guys!”
Donnie chirped, just as Leatherhead came out of the Kitchen. He turned his head just in time to meet eyes with the Croc once more, then he looked back at the others, the ever friendly smile still on his face. “Promise! You guys just go ahead without me!” The others looked at one another confused, meanwhile Sasha just looked at him confused, ears tilted low. Leatherhead himself looking at the turtle with a stern stare. With that, Donnie booked it into his room and shut the door behind him, breathing in a sigh of relief, shell against the door.
After his retreat the others decided to play a few card and board games to wear themselves out. But the whole time, Sasha seamed a bit, distracted. Leatherhead had to get to the bottom of this. It was clear now to him that something had to have gone down between both of his friends. It was the only way to explain Donnie’s sudden jealousy. So after excusing himself to the kitchen, he gestured for Sasha to come with him. Sasha was confused, but agreed, as she was pretty thirsty. Once she entered the kitchen, Leatherhead was leaning against the countertop, staring right at her with an expectant look on his face. She flinched a bit, but then tried to play it cool. “H-hey big guy, what’s up?” “I was hoping you would know.” Leatherhead responded flatly, letting his thick tail flop loudly on the ground behind him. “Know about what? I don’t fallow.” Sasha asked, now genuinely curious and a bit annoyed. Leatherhead was quite for a moment, looking like he was trying to choose his words carefully. “Donatello is acting strange, and I was hoping you’d be able to tell me why.” Sasha raised a brow, her lips turning into a frown, “Well, yeah, he’s acting weird. But why would I have anything to do with it? The more likely thing is that whatever it was you two were talking about in here earlier is what set him off.” Sasha shot back, crossing her arms, “Maybe I should be asking YOU why he’s acting weird.”
Leatherhead snorted loudly, narrowing his eyes at the feline. “You know, Michelangelo told me he overheard you two talking earlier in here…” Sasha seemed to freeze as her eyes widened, her face somehow starting to burn with embarrassment. She gulped, but tried to play it off, though her tone wasn’t convincing at all, “W-What did he hear?” “He didn’t give any details, said that the two of you were far too quiet to be understood. But whatever it was, it was charged. So to speak.” Sasha’s eyes looked down at the floor, as she absentmindedly sighed. Both with relief and frustration perhaps. Then her eyes looked back up at Leatherhead, still a bit miffed at this interrogation, “Still not sure where you’re going with this then.” Leatherhead hummed a little under his breath, before deciding it was better to be blunt about this. “Donatello seems to be a bit jealous with our relationship.”
Sasha’s face went from annoyed to being downright stunned in a matter of seconds. And she just stood there, mind spinning like a video game loading screen, before words finally started forming in her throat, “I-I w-what? How does that work? What do you mean by our ‘relationship’!?” Sasha asked, in a hushed but clearly angered tone. Doing her best to keep the others in the living room from hearing. Leatherhead shrugged, “He just really seemed to be upset with how close we seemed. Especially physically. Had a problem with you sitting in my lap during the movie and handing me popcorn.” Sasha shook her head and started rubbing her temples in frustration. A hissing sound escaping her lips. “I told him that he should be able to trust me, given our history together. But I wanted to know if there was actually something going on between the two of you that I should know about. Because I’m clearly missing something.” Leatherhead added. Sasha huffed, now crossing her arms. Having her back turned now at the Croc.
Even from behind her, he could see her staring at the ground, her tail and ears twitching with aggravation. Clearly thinking. He gave her a few moments, before her ears drooped in defeat and she sighed, “Promise me! This doesn’t leave this room!” She looked back at him over her shoulder. Leatherhead silently nodded. Sasha then turned to face him, eyes still low to the ground and arms crossed in front of her, but now her cheeks actually started to show a slight pink hue. “D-Donnie sorta…asked me out…” She muttered.
There was a pause, and Leatherhead’s eyes slowly widened.
“Oh!” He said, finally putting two and two together. Sasha growled and her eyes snapped up at him, she wasn’t sure why, but his almost lackluster reaction to this news pissed her off. “Oh! Just Oh!?” “Sorry! Sorry I just wasn’t expecting that! You mean like…asked you out! As in a date?” Leatherhead asked. Sasha’s irritation dropped a bit and she shrugged, “He said we didn’t have to call it that. Just two friends hoping to get closer to one another and understand their feelings more…” She muttered, looking back down at the floor. Leatherhead raised and eyebrow at that, a slight smirk tugging at his lips, “That sounds a lot like a date.” “That’s exactly what I said.” There was another pause.
“So, did you say yes?”
“No…”
“You rejected him?”
“What? No! W-we got interrupted before I could give him an answer…”
“Ooohhhhh…” he said, looking off to the floor. Mulling over this new information. Now Donnie’s attitude made a lot more sense. To pour your heart out and finally ask out the girl you’ve been crushing on for the last few months, only to then have no clear answer and watch as she gets closer to another dude. And his close friend at that! He’d be a bit miffed too. Maybe even violent. Though, Sasha can’t really be held responsible for this alone. “So what did you end up telling him?” He asked, finally looking back at her. “I told him that we would talk more about it after the movie. But…then I saw you two in here talking, and now Donnie seems awfully upset…” Sasha responded, leaning against the counter. Leatherhead sighed, This whole thing was a bit of an emotional mess. And communication would be the obvious answer. “You need to tell him your decision tonight. Irreparable damage could be done to your relationship if you don’t let him know soon. And frankly, I can’t stay. I’ve never seen Donatello so angry before, and while I won't hold it against him, if I stay the night, I’ll only make it worse…” Leatherhead muttered. Sasha’s ears drooped, he was right. This needed to be settled soon.
With that, Leatherhead left the room with Sasha closely following. He said his goodbyes to the others, but explained that he had to head back home to be with Professor Honeycutt.
As he left, Donnie peaked ever so slightly out of his door, to see Leatherhead leaving…with Sasha close behind him. It stung, he couldn’t deny that! But, he also couldn’t blame them. After being the kind of ass he was being, he’d be surprised if either of them wanted to talk to him ever.
“So much for…getting closer and figuring things out…”
With regret and shame in his heart, he slumped back over to his bed and flopped down onto it.
✨💛💜✨
A few hours had passed since Donnie passed out, and he looked over at the clock across the room. “2:30 a.m…” he muttered, yawning as he did so. He felt his mouth was dry and his head seemed to hurt quite a bit. “Should probably get some water…” he thought, before remembering that the others were still in the living room, and that he had promised to come out to join them all. He cringed, guilt tugging at his nerves. He tiptoed over to the door and peaked out again, relieved to find everyone had fallen asleep. The pressure of them badgering him was now gone, and replaced with a new fear and mission. “Get to the kitchen and get some water without waking them.” He thought.
As silently as he could, he cracked the door open and stared tiptoeing his way to the kitchen, putting his ninja training into practice. Only stopping shortly to look over at the entrance to the Lair, more guilt seeping in as he remembered seeing Leatherhead and Sasha leaving together. But, he got to the kitchen without waking anyone, and he quietly got a small cup and turned the faucet on. After filling his cup, he peaked out of the kitchen, and after seeing that the coast was clear, he tiptoed back to his room.
He turned to softly close the door behind him, but as soon as he turned back to look at his bed, he saw Sasha sitting there. Blue eyes staring right at him in the dark room. The surprise alone of someone being there, made him flinch and almost scream, but he was stopped when Sasha zipped off the bed and was now in front of him, covering his mouth with the back of her hand. “Shhhhh! It’s me, relax!” She whispered harshly. After a few seconds of hyperventilation, Donnie blinked a bit and relaxed, Sasha then moved her hand away from him and stepped back. “W-when did..” he tried asking, but Sasha answered promptly, “About the time you were on your way to the Kitchen. You stopped and looked my way. Thought you saw me, but it didn’t seem like it…” “Oh…I see.” He muttered, then froze realizing that his cup was missing and nearly having a heart attack, thinking that he dropped it and alerted the others. But just as the thought crossed his mind, he saw Sasha holding up the cup in the dark. “Getting yourself a drink after working for so long?” She said softly, a tinge of sarcasm and bitterness in her tone. Donnie’s heart shriveled up a bit. She knew he was lying.
Donnie took the cup from her fingers and chugged it down, but it really didn’t help much, her being here like this made his stomach feel sick. The silence between them was the loudest thing in the world now, and it made Donnie feel so clammy. But he had to say something. But once again, Sasha spoke first. “Leatherhead told me everything…” And just like that, Donnie’s heart dropped to the floor so hard he was surprised it didn’t wake everyone in The Lair. He felt heat rise to his cheeks and he felt tears beginning to come to his eyes. “I-I don’t know what came over me…” he started, “…and I’m sorry…” “I’m not really the one who needs to hear that…” Sasha piped up. “I know, and I plan to tell him sorry in the morning. But, I’m also sorry to you…” Sasha raised an eyebrow at that. Donnie sighed, “I had no right to act Ike that. You didn’t belong to me, you still don’t, and you never will. I was being selfish, entitled, jealous, and…just plain stupid…” he said, taking a seat over by his deck, slumped over, face in his hands.
Sasha kept her eyes on him the whole time, and after hearing that, a soft red started to creep up on her cheeks. She stayed silent for a bit, waiting to see if he would say more. But he didn’t, so she continued, “You’re the furthest thing from stupid Don. Cut yourself some slack. Not every guy out there can admit that sorta thing out loud, ya' know?” Donnie let out a dry chuckle, no humor was there though. “I don’t know if I should be praised so highly. After all…I-I…” his cheeks went dark red before continuing, “I still can’t admit how I feel about you…not to myself, to anyone, and…” his eyes trailed up to her, and seeing her rosy cheeks and blue eyes staring at him, he swallowed his words and just clammed up, looking back down at the floor. Sasha blinked in shock, her mouth slightly agape. But this shock only lasted a moment, and it was replaced with a rush.
Confidence, Determination, and Excitement!
An ever so slight grin came to Sasha’s lips, her cheeks getting warmer. “Well… at the very least I’m glad you plan on apologizing to Leatherhead! I wouldn’t wanna spend the night looking at stars with you if that was gunna be the case.” Donnie softly nodded, the words “Yeah…” muttered their way out of his mouth as he stared at the floor. Until what Sasha said finally clicked in his brain, and his head snapped back up to look at her. She had a soft smile on her lips, a small red tint peaking its way through the fur on her cheeks. Donnie’s eyes started growing wide as his heart started gaining speed in his chest. “W-wait, w-what? Did you just..” he was about to question, but Sasha just nodded softly in response. “REALLY?!” Donnie said, almost shouting, before noticing how loud he was and flinching, bringing his hands up to his mouth, clamping it shut. He quickly got up and rushed around to his door and peaked back out into the living room. Everyone was still sound asleep, and he sighed in relief.
Donnie closed the door back behind him, and faced back to Sasha. A sheepish grin pulled at the corners of his mouth, “I-I..I’m happy you’re up for it.” Sasha let a small giggle out, crossing her arms in front of herself, “Well, I was always up for something like this, but finding an activity that didn’t necessarily involve being all ‘Sciencey’ and what not was a bit difficult. Especially finding something we’d both like equally.” Donnie nodded in agreement, having had the same thoughts before talking with April about all this. Happy to see he wasn’t alone in that. “But…Stargazing actually sounds really fun! Used to do that all the time back home. And…it’s pretty romantic…” The heat on her cheeks getting stronger as those words came from her lips. Don wasn’t sure if that was a bad reaction or if she liked the idea of that, so he reiterated his earlier statement, “Y-yeah…I know. But again, we don’t…have to call it a date if that makes it too…well…you know.” “Y-Yeah, I know….” There was a very tense pause between them, before Sasha spoke up again. “Well then…Uhhh…” she stuttered out, looking at him, almost like she wasn’t sure what to do next. Her arms now kinda lifted like she wanted to reach out to him, almost like a hug or maybe something else. But she quickly shook her head and brought them back down to her sides, “Y-you have a good night, ok?”
Donnie was about to protest a bit, after seeing that, but decided not to try and press his luck. The girl he’d been crushing on for a while now had just agreed to go out with him. He wasn’t about to try anything stupid now! He softly nodded, “Y-yeah… you too Sasha…”
✨💛💜✨
With that everything was set in motion! Splinter was told about his plans and his blessing was given, though not without the embarrassing implication that he “Expects that they’re not going to do anything that would be irresponsible.” Donnie promised no such thing would get even close to happening. Not that the idea hadn’t crossed his mind before in a few dreams he’d wish would leave him alone. And of course April knew about the plan. The only one’s not in the loop where Casey & his brothers! And if he had anything to say about it, none of them would ever know about it. Though hiding the fact that he’d be gone for about a week was gunna be impossible.
For the next few days, Sasha and Donnie texted back and forth, disguising the details of the trip. Sasha was a little surprised to find out that it wouldn’t just be a single night out alone with him, but it would actually be a six day long trip! One day to make it there, two days hike out to where they would actually be star gazing, Two days back to the farmhouse, and then a one day trip back to the city! This made Sasha just a tad bit more worried about the idea, and it made a pit form in her stomach.
“Oh god…am-am I gunna be able to handle being alone with him for that long...?”
Sasha looked down at her claws, noting the sharp nails again. The memory of the other night where she accepted his offer replaying in her head again for the 30th time that day. She was about to hug him, but she had to stop herself again. Those feelings, Those thoughts, those…urges, they showed no sign of stopping. And it really started to scare her more. Worried about how she would handle it all, she went to Leatherhead for advice. If it was this hard to hold back being all cooped up, she could only imagine how much harder it would be to keep herself under control while not only being out in nature again for the first time in months, but it was also spring time. The Time of Passion for a lot of species, including themselves. Leatherhead assured her she’d be fine, but if she really felt uncomfortable, she could just change her mind about going.
But no, Sasha snorted, “I can’t keep being a coward. And I’ve already gotten this far. I might as well see how this goes. And I trust Donnie, so I need to start trying to trust myself.”
Finally the day came, and with it, butterflies galore for both of them. Donnie was in his room, getting his final preparations ready. All the gear he’d be taking with them laid out over his floor. “Let’s see…Blankets, Pillows, Telescope, Flint, Matches, Water Canteen, Notebooks…” He muttered to himself, before a knock at his door spooked him. “Hey yo, Donnie! You in there bro?” called out Raph’s muffled voice from behind the door. Donnie panicked a bit and quickly started to shove the items into his duffle bag, “Uhhh, j-just a minute Raph! I’m here!” Raph raised a brow at that, “The heck does that mean? The hell are you-“ Raph asked as he opened Donnie’s door anyways to see his brother haphazardly slamming his duffle bag under his desk and him quickly plopping his butt into his deck chair. There was a pause while Donnie tried playing it cool, “Oh hey! Sorry about that Raph, I was just…uhhh…you know…reorganizing my stuff…” trailing off in the last part a bit. Both in a way that made it sound like he was questioning what was coming out of his mouth and instantly regretting it. He had been able to hide the trip from his brothers for the whole week, but this is where shit was gunna hit the fan.
It was pretty obvious that Donnie was lying, he was never good at it! Raph’s eyes flicked down at the duffle bag and then back up at his brother, then they narrowed, “You always stuff your bag full of your crap when you ‘Reorganize’ things?” He asked, really not amused. “I do now.” Donnie stated, quickly rushing past his brother. If he was gunna be getting ready for this trip and getting the snacks packed, he was gunna have to do it now while he still could. But Raph wasn’t letting him go that easy. The whole week leading up to today, he, Leo, and Mikey had been feeling like something was up with him and Sasha! Big time! Mikey said that during the sleepover, he overheard Sasha and Donnie talking in his room, but couldn’t exactly understand what they were saying. And ever since that, the two of them have been a lot weirder around each other. They could be seen starring at one another more often, they’d be whispering to one another, and it seemed like the super awkward air they had between them was nearly gone almost over night! And now, this morning, Donnie hadn’t come out of his room and was now packing a bag with god knows what!
“Like Shell you do! The heck is up with you today?” Raph asked, fallowing close behind his brother who was heading to the kitchen. “I have no clue what you’re talking about…” Donnie said quickly, trying to shake off the praying. But it wasn’t gunna work. Leo stopped his training to walk over to them, “What’s going on?” Leo asked, concerned that the two might have gotten into another fight. “Donnie here is packing a bag in his room!” Raph said, still fallowing Don and not stopping. “What?” Leo asked, genuinely concerned hearing this. “It’s not how it sounds…” Donnie said while digging through the cabinets for a few sandwich bags and filling them with a few small snacks. “It’s exactly how it sounds! Don’t give us that!” Raph barked back. “What the shell are you doing packing up your stuff Donnie?” Leo asked, now getting really worried. “I’m…going on a short trip…” Donnie’s said, figuring he might as well give them that much. “What!? Why? Where? Does Splinter know about this?” “Any particular order you want those answers in?” Donnie snarked back as he quickly gathered up some juice pouches into a cooler along with the snacks, still not making eye contact with his brothers.
“Stop it Donnie, I’m serious! What is going on?” Leo tried to plead, but it fell on deaf ears as Donnie slid a few extra things from the fridge into his cooler and made his way back out of the kitchen, cooler in hand. “Nothing that you two need to concern yourselves with! I’m just gunna be gone for a week! I’ll be fine!” Donnie said, obviously getting annoyed and stressed by the badgering from his brothers, speed-walking his way back to his room. And just as he saw his open bedroom door, he could see Mikey, looking through his Shell Cell. The duffle bag he had on the floor now open.
“MIKEY!” Donnie shouted in anger as he charged into his room, quickly whipping the Shell Cell from his hands and quickly slinging the duffle bag over his shoulders. “Whoa! Easy Donnie, I was just-“ “Snooping through my things when I’ve told you about a thousand times not to…” Donnie quickly retorted, clearly not amused. “Come on dude! You aren’t telling us what you’re up to, and I KNOW you’re up to something!” Mikey said back, sure he could be a little shit stirrer, but he was just as worried about this “trip” as much as his brothers were. Donnie rolled his eyes, letting out and exacerbated huff, “Look I’m gunna be fine! I have my Bo with me, and if I need anything, I have my Shell Cell!” He said, now packed up and ready to leave. He had already texted Sasha to let her know he was ready to leave.
Walking into the living room area, Donnie just stood there, looking through the Shell Cell at his messages. But his brothers weren’t gunna let up. “Can you at least tell us where you’re going?” Leo asked. “Why, so you three can fallow me? I don’t need any praying eyes!” He brothers all just threw up their brows and that, and looked at one another. They had to admit that fallowing him was kinda on the table, but no way they were admitting it. “What does that mean?” Leo asked. “Yeah!?” Raph asked. “You got some super secret vehicles you’re working on or something?” Mikey asked. Donnie turned to look at his brothers, “What? No! Look, I’m not telling you guys what I’m doing or where I’m going! And that’s final!” Donnie snapped. The brothers had to take a step back for a minute, looking a bit concerned now. Donnie sighed, “Look, I’m sorry, ok? I just need to be alone for this! Splinter and April know where I am if something happens to me. But I’m gunna be fine, I just, need to face this on my own.”
Leo narrowed his brows a bit, Donnie made it seem like a very important mission, “Face what on your own?” But before Leo could get any kind of answer to his question, a voice came up from behind Donnie at the entrance to the lair! “Hey Donnie, sorry for taking a while, I had to find all my old camping ge-“ Sasha chirped as she entered the lair, to see Donnie, Leo, Mikey, and Raph all looking up at her. The latter three looking up at her a bit bewildered. Donnie looking back at her over his shoulder, now smiling. There was a short pause before Sasha let out a nervous chuckle, taking in the scene right in front of her. “Oh…Am I interrupting something?” She asked, a crooked smile crossing her face. “Nope! Just finishing up here!” Donnie chirped back, giving her a sweet smile, his brothers now looking at the two of them with wide eyes and slacked jaws.
Sasha, noticed the light signal from Don that she needed to run, and she nodded. “Ah! I see, well…meet you in the Battle Shell then! See you in a week fellas!” She said, giving them another smile and backing up a bit. And before any of them could react, Sasha turned tail and sped off on foot. Another awkward pause wafted through the room, before Don looked back at his brothers, “Welp, you heard her! And it’s not polite to keep a lady waiting!” “WHAT?” His brothers shouted, but Don was already booking it out of the lair, disappearing in to the darkness of the tunnels. “The shell was that?!” Raph asked, genuinely thrown off by how bizarre and quickly that went down. “I-I don’t know…” Leo muttered, honestly too shocked to really understand what just happened. “Huh…well that explains what I found in Donnie’s bag…” Mikey then starts to giggle a little, that impish smile he gets when he’s just played a prank on someone slowly growing on his face. “What? What’s so funny?” Raph looked at his brother with a raised eyebrow. “Oh nothing…sure we’ll find out in a week…” Mikey grinned.
✨💛💜✨
Donnie was nearly out of breath by the time he made it to the warehouse, where Sasha was already sitting besides the Battle Shell, leaning up against it. But once she heard his feet approaching she straighten up and waved. She looked nervous, but was clearly trying to hide it, “How did it go?” She asked. Donnie shook his head as he approached her, “About as good as I figured it would…” he said. Sasha cringed, “Ooof. Sorry to leave you behind like that…” “No need to apologize, probably would’ve gone way worse had you stuck around.” Donnie admitted, opening the back of the Battle Shell, loading up his duffle bag and cooler. “Fair enough!” Sasha said, also placing her duffle bag next to his. “With that said we should probably get outta here pretty quick before they have a chance to fallow?” “Oh you bet! Hop in!” Donnie said, climbing into the Battle Shell first, turning around once inside, holding out his hand to her. Sasha blinked a bit, surprised by the offer. Her eyes looked up to his and he was giving her a soft smile, cheeks the slightest bit dark. “N-need a lift?” Sasha looked back down at his outstretched hand, lips pressed into a thin line, contemplating and nervous. Finally, she tentatively reached out and gently took his hand. Donnie then pulled her up into the Battle Shell, finally sliding the back hatch behind them down.
Sasha had been in the Battle Shell a small number of times before now, and it always impressed her just how much work went into it. It was one of the first projects Leatherhead ever told Sasha about when she first met him, and was telling her about how brilliant Donnie was. When she finally got to meet him and he decided to show her the Battle Shell, she was smitten with it! Such a beautiful machine made from only scraps and junk. It was truly a sight to behold. Since then, she’s been allowed to help in making adjustments to it. Specifically, Donnie wanted her to help with making it go faster, which the cheetah was more than delighted to help with. Speed was part of who she was after all, and her tips on making the Battle Shell more aerodynamic were incredibly effective. Only now further demonstrated by how fast Donnie pulled it out of the warehouse and into the back allies! When they finally made it onto the main streets of the city, Sasha’s eyes seemed to grow to the size of dinner plates!
“Oh my spots…” She said in amazement. Seeing the city at night from the rooftops was one thing, but during the day it was a whole other beast. The sun was so bright, there were so many people it was impossible to make out any one face in the crowd, and all the noise going on was insane. A stray thought made Sasha wince as her ears drooped and she moved her face away from the windows a little. “Uhhh aren’t you worried someone is gunna like…see us?” She asked, honestly not having thought about that until now. “No need to worry! I tinted these windows to the maximum legal limit! They won’t be able to make us out.” Donnie chimed up. Sasha sighed, feeling a lot better now. “Oh good! Thought I was gunna get us caught there of a sec…” She started shifting her gaze back out the window again, partly to keep looking at the world around them, and partly to try and keep from making eye contact with Donnie. She was hoping that the new sights would keep the butterflies that had been doing back flips inside her stomach down, but that wasn’t happening.
“Beautiful, isn’t it?” Donnie asked, noticing her wondering look. “It’s definitely something! They have cities in South Africa too, but…nothing like this!” Sasha responded, still not looking back at Donnie. Donnie nodded, his eyes now wondered over from the road to Sasha in the passenger's seat. He didn’t say anything about it before and had no plans to bring it up to her at all out of fear of being seen as a creep, but…something seemed…different about her today. Almost…prettier. Not that he ever thought of her as not pretty, far from it actually. But for some reason, her fur seemed smoother, more groomed then she normally looked. Her coat shining in what little sunlight was making its way through the windows. And…if he wasn’t mistaken, she had to be wearing some kind of perfume, or maybe it was her shampoo. It was a fruity smell, like a watermelon maybe. The smell of which was filling the cab.
“Did she really get all dolled up just for this?”
This staring went on for a bit, till he noticed something, her tail was wrapped around in her lap. Her nails lightly playing with the fur at the ends, hands seemingly shivering. Of course, she was nervous. Not that he blamed her, so was he.
A honk from a car behind them made Donnie jolt a little, focusing his attention back onto the road, nearly making him leap out of his shell. Sasha then glanced back at him, “Y-you get everything you needed?” She asked. “Huh? O-oh, yeah! Well, just the essentials. I was packing over the span of the week so my brothers wouldn’t get suspicious. B-But uhhhh…you saw how well that went.” Donnie answered, his hands gripping the steering wheel every once in a while. Sasha nodded, taking notice of his hands, it was pretty clear he was nervous but was doing his best to seem relaxed. And that’s when a faint hint of sunlight made her notice something else. A short but noticeable glimmer came from behind Donnie.
“D-Did he polish his shell? All for...this? For...me?”
The thought made Sasha’s face burn, though she really couldn’t judge. She was the one that called April and had her come over way earlier in the day before she left to help her get ready. And for moral support.
Feeling like she was starting to stare a bit, she quickly looked away and started trying to think of something to say, keeping her eyes anywhere but at him. “I-I'm really glad you asked me to come with you…” She said, sheepishly. Donnie blinked, glancing at her from the corner of his eye, “Oh…Really?” Sasha nodded, “Yeah, I mean, I not only get to spend a bit more time with…well, you. But I also get to see a forest for the first time!” Donnie took a second for those words to set in his mind, the idea of her never seeing a forest before was baffling, but then logic kicked back in and he nodded. “Oh yeah, that’s right!” “This closest I’ve ever gotten to seeing one was a Jungle, but it wasn’t very big. And of course, pictures online and in books don't really count.” Sasha added. “Well, I’m hoping to show you more then just that! We have a two day hike ahead after we get there. Casey, April, and my brothers have had a few…adventures out there. I can even show you where a spaceship crashed!”
Sasha’s eyes grew wide and her head snapped up to look at him, “Are you for real?” Donnie laughed, “I wouldn’t lie to you! Yeah! I can also show you a nuclear power plant that we shut down because it was killing off some mutant fish folk that were living in the river!” Sasha’s mouth curled into a wide grin, “This so cool! I can’t wait to see it!”
With a little bit of the tension lifted, the rest of their drive out of the city was a little more comfortable. And once they started hitting the wilderness, Sasha’s eyes wondered even more. Without much traffic around them now, Sasha felt safe enough to roll down her window a bit to see everything better. The trees were just beginning to sprout fresh leaves, and the grass seemed to already be bringing out colorful flowers and weeds! The sun was high in the sky, giving the daytime a pleasant warmth, something for the plants and newly awoken critters to soak up to prepare for the new season. The scent of clean spring air hit Sasha’s face, her smile turning soft as she took it in. Her fur seemed to shiver a little, as if a new wave of energy was going through her body.
That’s when another feeling creeped into her body, and she froze a little, a rush of embarrassment and worry slowly starting to take over. Her eyes glanced over at Donnie, who seemed more relaxed, but was still focused on the road. A very slight smile on his face. Taking in his features, Sasha felt that weird tingle in her body and she frowned.
“T-this is…gunna get…weird…”
Sasha started looking down at the floor, thankful that the window was down now so that she could get a soft cool breeze on herself as her cheeks began to burn hard. “H-Hey uhhh, D-Donnie?” She started softly, starting to feel her paws shake. Donnie almost didn’t hear her over the sound of the wind, but his eye’s could see her lips move from the corner of his eye and he turned his head slightly, “Huh? What’s up?” He asked, honestly looking a little concerned now. She didn’t look too hot, and her cheeks could be seen turning red through the fur on her cheeks, “You getting sick? Should I pull over?” He asked. Sasha shook her head, “N-no it’s just…I-I’m a bit worried.” She muttered, her hands coming together in her lap, clamping onto one another tightly. Donnie’s brows curved up, taking quick glances at her, still trying to keep an eye on the road. “What about? If it’s the hike and camping-“ He was cut off pretty quickly. “N-No! I-It’s not that…I-It’s…about me…” Donnie cocked a brow and looked at her for a good long second at that. “What do you mean? Thought you said you weren’t sick.” Sasha grimaced a bit, looking back out the window at the beautiful woods just beyond the road, as if she were looking for a way to put it. “I suppose you could…see it as being ‘sick’, in a way…” She said.
Now that REALLY confused the poor terrapin, but she was clearly getting at something, so he prodded as gently as he could, “Okeeeey…care to explain?” Sasha gulped, “Tell me…W-what does spring usually mean?” Donnie felt like he had to pause and reboot his brain for a moment. The vagueness of that question only making his worry and confusion more tangled. But, he trusted she was going somewhere with this, so he tentatively answered, “Uhhhh, well I think Blooming Flowers, Bugs, Warmer weather, and maybe allergies?” Sasha has to hold back a small laugh at his last statement, but it seemed like he didn’t notice. But the laugh was replaced with a loud sigh, as she started coming to the realization that she was gunna have to spell it out for him. Her face getting even hotter. “It also happens to be the season of procreation for many species…”
"..."
The silence is incredibly loud in the Battle Shell, even the wind coming in through the cracked window seemed to be drowning in it. Donnie’s eyes went wide as a slight heat creeped up into his cheeks, waiting for a second for what she said to sink in. He turned his head slightly her way, only to see her still facing out the window, but her eyes staring right at him. Her cheeks were a bright red, ears drooped and her mouth was in an uncomfortable frown. “…that includes yours and mine.” She concluded, her voice almost hitching, but the statement still hit like a semi-truck. That’s when Donnie’s face started turning bright red and he quickly looked away just to try and save himself from every thought racing into his head at once. But, it was too late! He really wasn’t sure what to say to that!
“I-I uhhh, w-well, I mean…you’re right. But-but that d-dosen’t mean anything. W-we’re not like…well normal animals! We have more control!” He said, just trying to get something said out loud. Though it sounded more like he was trying to convince himself and her, but it didn’t, as a hoard of butterflies started churning in his stomach again. Nights worth of dreams finally flooding his brain with any and all scenarios his teenaged mind could conjure. Sasha just whimpers a bit, shifting in her seat so that she’s scooted a bit further from her turtle friend, but still facing him. Her eyes started drifting down to the floor, “Y-Yeah, I know. B-but it’s less you I’m worried about, and…m-more me…” Donnie glanced at her, and she continued, “Being a cheetah, we a-aren’t that tough, but we’re still big cats. And cats are…p-pretty…aggressive during this kind of season…” a tinge of worry coming across Donnie’s face a little hearing this. “And it get’s more intense when w-we’re…in our element. So to speak…”
“Y-your not gunna…like…hurt me, or anything like that are you?” Donnie asked, honestly a little confused by her words. The way she was talking it was like she was scared she might try to eat him. Sasha’s eyes flew up and she looked really scared, “My Spots! N-no! Never in my life! It’s just…remember that night how I-I…” she trailed off, looking down. She slowly opened her paw to look at it. He knew what she was getting at almost immediately, bringing his own hand up to his cheek, it getting warm again. “Y-yeah…I remember…” “When I’m…in my element, I tend to be a…bit more bold. And I start to show a bit more of myself…” she continued, “You’ve likely noticed before…” Donnie thought about it, and she did seem to be a bit more open when they’d be out on missions, or in the heat of battle, or even just when she’s in the zone while in the lab. Calm, tactical, and cheery most of the time, but Donnie started seeing glimpses of something else during these other occasions. A Sly playfulness here or a small trace of bashfulness there, little peeks into Sasha’s true personality.
Donnie let his mind wander a bit, before Sasha sighed, “I’m sorry for having to bring it up NOW, but… I didn’t wanna seem like I didn’t wanna…go out with you like this…” she said, her eyes glancing back out the window, leaning against the door with one arm up against it, the other on her lap and cradling her stomach. “N-no! It’s ok! I-I’m happy you’re being honest with me! That’s the whole point of this trip after all! To get to know each other more!” Donnie said, reassuring her. A slow nervous smile passed over Sasha’s lips, “…just promise me that… if I get too…” her cheeks turned bright red and her ears lowered “…Frisky…, you’ll stop me if I cross a line. And p-please don’t…take it too personally…”
Tumblr media
The word ‘frisky’ coming from Sasha of all folks made Donnie nearly laugh, but he held it in immediately. “Of course! I promise, nothing you could do would cross a line for me! But, uhhhh, I suppose the same should be said for me…” Sasha looked at him, an eyebrow raised. Donnie nervously chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck some, “I’m assuming you know how turtles get w-when…uhhh…” he trailed off, cheeks burning immediately. Sasha smirked a little, nodding.
Of course, Sasha was always more into the Biology branches of science, it was something he admired about her. He swallowed, “R-right, so…stop me if I cross a line too.” Sasha nodded again, “Deal… though…” a light devious glint hit her eyes “I don’t think I’ll need to worry about you. I know more about your body than you do about mine…” Donnie eyes grew at the sound of that, and his looked over her way. She was blushing still, a slight smirk on her face, but she was leaning against the window again. Staring off at the passing trees. The butterflies in his stomach were going insane now, his face practically wanting to melt off.
"W-what the shell?"
Quickly looking back at the road so they wouldn’t crash, Donnie kept driving. Sasha felt pleased with that, but the pit in her stomach still hadn’t let up. She had been honest with him. Right?
✨💛💜✨
After about another hour or so, they finally pulled up the long dirt road leading up to the large Farmhouse. Sasha let out a long whistle, looking at the size of the property and seeing the woods just beyond it. “Talk about some fresh air! This place is so…beautiful!” She said, taking off her seat belt, still keeping her eyes trained on the tree line. Donnie huffed out a small laugh, “I know right! Plenty of wide open space for us to just stretch our legs a-“ The sound of Sasha’s door opening and her hopping out made him stop. The speedy pattering of her feet on the grass was so quick that Donnie hardly started unbuckling his seatbelt yet. By the time he finally climbed out, he turned his attention to the back of the Battle Shell, and Sasha had already made it halfway across the property. She was looking all over the place, slowly turning, her tail softly flicking behind her. She was wonderstruck!
A soft smile spread on Donnie’s lips as he watched her. “I guess she really HAD been needing some time out in nature.” Sasha only stopped moving when her eyes landed on the sight of the distant hills, a huge smile spreading on her face. A present spring breeze blew through the trees and grass, and as it made its way into her fur, Sasha closed her eyes and took in a huge breath of it. The tips of her ears and tail now softly twitching. She then let out with a sigh, the wind suddenly changing direction and strength along with it, almost in sync. That’s when her ears flicked to something behind her, and she quickly turned to see Donnie approaching her, carrying both his and her own bags. “Huh, that wind gust was pretty strong!” He chuckled, getting closer and holding her bag out to her.
Sasha seemed to flinch at him taking notice of that and her ears drooped a bit, but she quickly shook that off and took her bag from him. “O-oh yeah, you know! These Spring winds they…uhhhh…always seem to…you know…move with the hearts of those who let it in.” Donnie raised a brow at that, “I’ve never heard that one before…” he said, a small smile on his face. While it was strange, Sasha always seemed to know a few weird sayings, most of which were kinda funny but mostly endearing. Maybe even a little spiritual at times. “Y-yeah, it’s something my Grandmother used to say…” She said, seeing to be in a hurry to stop talking about it, quickly slinging her bag onto her shoulders. “Well, I hope you’re ready to move like the wind, cause we’ve got a LOT of ground to cover before we make it to were we gotta be.” Donnie piped up, tilting his head in the direction of the woods just ahead of them.
She looked at him of a second, her ears perking back up again, the cat-like smirk returning to her lips, “Born ready my terrapin friend! Lead the way!” Donnie walked ahead a bit, “Well, We’ll have to move a bit stealthily from here for about a mile through these woods! Casey has a neighbor here who once sent his pitbull after Mikey.” “Oh! Crazy Man Hatchet?” Donnie froze for a second, looking back at her surprised that she knew. “How did-“ Sasha shrugged, “Mikey told me the story! You three saved a furry green man thing and it’s baby.” “Right…well, I’m hoping we won’t be seen like he was. But, like I said, we only got to get past a mile and then we should be in the clear.” Sasha nodded, “You got it…” she started walking ahead of him, only stopping to get right next to him, giving him a playful bump on his shoulder “Ninja Boy…” The way her voice came out was so sultry and almost teasing. Donnie froze a bit, feeling her soft tail brush his arm as she passed him. The tingle from such an action traveled through his whole body, making him shutter as his face began to burn. “Oh shell…is THIS what she meant by ‘being bold’?” He thought to himself, staring at Sasha, slack-jawed as she walked ahead of him. Noticing the way her tail swooshed, moving in time with her steps and the sway of her hips. He gulped, “If so, I just hope I can handle all of…that!”
The cheetah looked back at him, over her shoulder, “Race you to the other side?” She shouted back, a sly smirk on her. The return of that competitive spirit in her, and the quickening of her steps made Donnie flinch, before springing to life himself. He smirked and ran to catch up, “Sure, but aren’t I supposed to lead the way!?” He yelled back, with a laugh in his voice.

FFXIV Write 2023 :: Day 14
Prompt :: Clear Characters :: Nomin tal Kheeriin, Estinien Varlineau Word Count :: 1,275
FFXIV Write 2023 Master List
Tumblr media
Night hung over Eorzea -- just as it had so many nights before. Nomin, however, kept her gaze pointed up at the stars and inky black and purple of their eternal backdrop. She would have never thought to take the cover of night for granted -- it had always been assured in her years of traversing the star.
Time on the First and dealing with the Light that had plagued it really made her appreciate the cool night that she basked in at that very moment. Granted, she had a wool blanket wrapped around her, though with such a clear night to gaze upon the stars, dealing with some night chill had been more than worth it.
"I would think you would be more inclined to spend time with everyone now that we have returned from Ul’dah." The voice was familiar, and Nomin tensed briefly before she looked back behind her. Sure enough, Estinien had been approaching the spot she had claimed for herself on the stone walkway not far from Rowena's café.
Like herself, he was dressed down into something less bulky and more for leisurely comfort. Or…leisurely comfort as either of them had really come to make the definition fit themselves.
Nomin scoffed and turned her attention back toward the sky.
“Well…” Nomin started, lacing her fingers together. “I can’t really say I’ve been too keen to keep myself in the company of others late as it is. All the excitement in recent time, everyone needs to rest, or at least take time to tend to whatever business they have. I would only serve as a distraction, I feel.”
Though her words seemed to indicate that she would have preferred to have been alone, Nomin’s tone seemed to indicate a sense of relief that she did have someone to talk to at the very least. All things considered, Estinien may have been the best person to have a conversation with that lacked the monotony of recounting her experience and others knowing by virtue of having been there and lived through it themselves.
“Shall I take my leave, then?” Estinien asked.
Silence for a moment.
“... You can stay, if you’d like…” Nomin replied. There was a fleeting flutter in her stomach, and that nagging sense in her mind that did not want Estinien to leave. Despite their past with one another, despite the disdain she felt for him before…part of her could only think of the Ghimlyt Dark and her fuzzy memories. The feeling of Estinien carrying her to safety. The sound of his voice as he told her he was bringing her to Aymeric.
Nomin saw Estinien enter her peripheral view as he approached the half-wall and leaned forward.
“So… What are you doing up so late? Here of all places?” Nomin asked, turning slightly so that she was facing Estinien and giving him more of her attention.
“Like you, I decided to get away for myself.” Estinien glanced in Nomin’s direction. There had been something strange about how even her Echo reacted and tugged at her -- there was something there that she felt that she had not felt in the past with it when it came to Estinien. Warmth. Relief. Familiarity. Comfort?
“Only so long can I spend underground, surrounded by stone and idle conversation.” Estinien huffed a silent sigh, eyes scanning over what they could see of both Revenant’s Toll and the rest of Mor Dhona past its walls. “Besides, my time is better spent standing vigil. Ensuring that nothing comes to harm those here. You have enough to deal with, surely.”
“You should take the opportunity to rest…” Nomin said, turning back so that she was leaning on the wall again.
“Aye…as should you. Yet here we are.”
“Mm… Here we are.”
Silence once more, only broken up by the song of the occasional vilekin singing its nightly tune.
Moments passed, and Nomin slowly looked back at Estinien. She noted how he kept his gaze pointed forward, continuing to ensure that the lands below were bereft of enemies or other nasties. She then slowly reached over and poked his wrist gently with the tip of her finger.
“You can speak. There is no need for such acts in want of attention. ‘Tis only us here, after all,” Estinien said, not looking back at Nomin.
Nomin flinched slightly. Swallowing, she let out a breath and said, “... Aymeric told me that you saw me safely to him and some chirurgeons during the battle at Ghimlyt…”
“Aye. I did.”
That flutter came back, and Nomin’s heart skipped a beat with his affirmation. To have been so utterly defenseless and vulnerable within Estinien’s care had been something that left her with conflicted feelings -- even back when Aymeric had told her briefly of the events that had transpired.
Tapping her hand lightly on the stone surface of the wall, Nomin pursed her lips and slowly nodded as she collected both her thoughts and her feelings. This was the first time she had really had the time to really speak with Estinien since being whisked away to the First. She had nearly constantly thought about what Aymeric told her about how Estinien made sure she was safe and cared for.
“Um…well… Thank you. Really. I…I imagine we wouldn’t be here if you hadn’t brought me back so that I might be aided and cared for.”
“‘Tis the least I could do, all things considered.” Estinien finally looked over at Nomin, his form looming over her as he stood back up and straightened his posture to some degree. “I could not very well leave you there as fires licked the field of battle. You were all but helpless when I chanced saw you. I would not -- will not -- stand idly by and allow you to be cut down like you were about to be when I intervened.”
Nomin’s lips twitched into being partially pursed as she looked up at Estinien. Part of her hated how she felt in that moment -- like a victim of a purbol’s paralytic poison. Part of her hated how her skin prickled and her face warmed at the sentiment. And then…there was a greater part of her that wanted to lean into those feelings, those emotions.
“I…see…” Nomin managed, doing her best to stonewall those emotions and keep them only in her mind. “If…if that was repayment for mine and Alphinaud’s removing you from Nidhogg’s grasp, consider it repaid.”
“Nay. ‘Twas not a debt I wished to repay.” Estinien’s gaze narrowed, his arms coming up to be folded over his chest. “I would do it again. Over and over. We have lost enough, Nomin, I shall lose no more and ensure no one loses any more if it is within my power to prevent it. With my mantle of Azure Dragoon retired and my mind and vision cleared, I would see myself aiding you and yours.”
What were these words?
Nomin’s lips parted in surprise more than anything. She was also at a loss for words. How was she to respond to that? She had no idea, for her mind had been blank with only the slightest trickle of words that barely formed any kind of proper sentence of phrase.
“Mm…” Nomin then furrowed her brow and steeled her gaze as she looked out toward the landscape. Though there were no towers nor beacons within sight, she had to remember that they were there, and that they were a threat. “With everything we’ve learned so far…we’ll need you and that lance of yours. So keep it and yourself sharpened.”
“Aye, ‘tis the plan. Likewise, I would see you keep your aim sharp and your aether abundant.”

After The Ball
So in the effort to start posting ANYTHING I have of my WIPs, here have a piece out of the early middle of my Cultural Advisor OC fic.
Amea Allosun-Link to Character Description
Warnings: None. Fluff, a bit of angst. Middle of the fic sorry if it doesn't make sense.
Tumblr media
Fox recognized the figure in the purple gown walking away from the carpeted walk that led to the queue of speeders awaiting their passengers. Off to the series of walks and courtyards that led to her apartment.
“Wait!” Fox called, following her.
Amea paused, half turning towards him. “Yes?” she answered.
“Don't you have a speeder picking you up?” he asked.
“That would be ridiculous,” she shook her head. “You know I live four blocks from here. I look the part, but I don't live the life. In the end I'm just a scholar,”
“Kriff,” he swore.
A smirk twitched at the corners of her lips, “You didn't turn your com off,” she pointed out.
He sighed, “It's late and dangerous,”
“To get an appropriate speeder to wait the line to pick me up from an event like this would cost five times what the gown would have cost if I hadn't made it myself,” she told him. “And no other speeders are allowed in a five block radius, and certainly not by the barracks building,”
“Thire,” Fox had switched to his interior com. “Do we have anyone spare for an escort?”
“Yeah,” Thire answered, “You,”
“I am not spare, someone has to organize this mess,” he griped.
“I got it,” Thire responded. “You'd be surprised how well we can manage for a few hours without you.”
“Believe it when I see it,” Fox told him.
“Need the opportunity first, and speaking of opportunities,”Thire said, “you better take this opportunity to walk that beautiful woman home and at the very least kiss her goodnight,”
“Vod, that's out of the question,” Fox growled. “I'll stay, you can walk her home,”
“Have you even talked to her about it?” Thire asked. “No, you're going to go off making the decision for both of you with only half of the story,”
“It's all the story I need,” Fox responded.
“You playing the martyr is hurting her,” Thire told him. “If I walk her home I'm telling her everything. You also probably look like an idiot having stood there arguing with me and not acknowledging her.”
Fox's attention went immediately back to Amea, who was looking up at him expectantly. Still wearing the lace mask that drew his attention even more to her eyes.
“Will you allow me to walk you home?” he asked.
“Are you sure they won't need you?” she asked.
“Call it a test,” he answered, making sure his com was on too. “that I won't walk back to a disaster,”
“Better not see you before nine tomorrow, Fox,” Thire said.
Fox didn't bother answering. He pulled his helmet off, tucking it under one arm and offering the other to her, “Shall we?” he asked.
She twined her gloved arm in his, “If you are sure,” she answered, looking up at him.
“Very,”he told her as they began to walk.
“Thank you,” she murmured.
They walked a few steps in silence.
“You didn't dance very much tonight,” he pointed out, “You said you loved to dance,”
“Depends on the partner,” Amea answered. She didn't miss the more casual tone he had with her once they were away from the senators and their staff. “There wasn't many there that I would call fun dance partners. And out of them not many willing or able to dance with me,”
“Not willing?” he asked.
She answered, “Dancing and talking to me would not have been a productive use of time. I'm not important,”
“Important enough for Senator Organa,” Fox commented.
“He's been very kind since I came to the Senate as an advisor, but I am sure it's in part because he represents my home planet,” she answered. “And because I was technically a ward of the crown for most of my childhood,”
“He's a good man, he watches out for most,” He responded. “Unfortunately the minority in the senate,”
Amea nodded, keeping to herself that enforcing her appearance in Organa's circle kept her shielded from certain members who would decide that since she wasn't able to be used for political gain she must be there for their pleasure. Fox definitely knew that as well as she did, there was no reason to raise that topic.
“You would be an interesting dance partner,” she said.
He laughed, “It would never be allowed, even if it were I don't know how,”
She set her other hand on his forearm and said, “I did say not able to. I'm sure we could find somewhere,”
He was quiet for a moment as he could, for a split second see a beautiful ball like the one he just observed but full of his brothers, beautiful partners dancing with all of them and he understood what Amea had said earlier in the evening about this one lacking joy.
He realized he must have been quiet for too long because she stopped walking in the courtyard.
“I know more than most, I understand more than most,” she said, looking up at him, “Probably second only to you guys. But you act like I don't,”
“You shouldn't have to,” he answered.
“But I do, and I love too many of you to walk away,” she answered.
He remembered watching her face light up when Rex's boys joined her that night at 79's. But he also remembered the happiness in the voices of those guys when they sighted her and called out to her as they approached the table.
His own men, more than happy to make sure their friend got home safely each night. Calling greetings to her as she walked to or from her office.
Fox realized he had been on the defensive concerning himself and his brothers, but maybe now was the time to change that.
He didn't realize that he had stopped walking, turned towards her and was now holding her hand with his fingers entwined with hers. She was looking up at him expectantly just as she had before they started this journey. A quiet waiting for him to process whatever he needed to.
“Amea, you deserve so much more than I'm allowed to give,” he told her.
“You deserve more,”she answered, “But the question is do you let that stop us from having what we can?”
“No, but it isn't going to stop me from fighting for more,”he told her before he allowed his lips to gently brush against hers.
“Wooohoo commander!” some poor, stupid soul decided to shout.
Fox immediately pulled back, his features automatically rearranging into a more stern expression.
Amea was shaking with repressed laughter.
“Someone wants refresher duty for a week,” Fox called back to the poor trooper.
“No, sir, sorry, sir,” came the answer before the sound of boots hurrying into the building.
“Come on,” Amea tugged his hand, still trying not to laugh.
When they rounded the corner to the next block she lost the battle against her laughter. She glanced over at Fox, who was slightly flushed.
“Come on, he was just happy for you,” she giggled.
He raised an eyebrow, looking down at her, “You know who that was,”
Amea shrugged, “I know a lot of troopers, she answered, still laughing.
“Yes, but you know that one,” he said with a half smile.
“I do,” she agreed.
“You aren't going to tell me,” he continued.
“You think I'd be friends with Fives and Echo if I did things like that?” she asked.
Fox laughed, “I suppose not,”
“They like to celebrate victories even in little ones,” she said as they arrived in front of her building, She turned to face him.“There aren't many victories here,”
As he leaned in to kiss her again he said, “You're right, we do like to celebrate victories,”

Can’t sleep. Must write. No energy for main two stories. Must write companion piece. Did so. Shall the Void enjoy?
(It’s mostly just Iceberg and Dr. Bright talking about chainsaws that happen to be on fire. And maybe some plot for the main story. Depends on if the characters overrule the writer. Again.)
“Dr Bright, sir, if I may ask…” Iceberg trailed off as he lifted his head from the desk. Despair- a simile of it, at the very least- was rolling around like a boulder in a marsh in his stomach. He did not like this ‘medicine’ that Headmaster Azur wanted him to try out, but he made a promise to the man. Take the medication for at least three weeks unless there’s some negative reaction that worries his family, and the Headmaster would personally see to it that his schedule had room for lessons in ‘The Healing Arts; mechanical, organic, and arcane’ as he called the series of seminars.
(It would be too useful a thing for him to not learn. He knew he could very easily become a weapon. He had been a soldier, though. He was tired of it. Hopefully the Foundation wouldn’t mind it if he occasionally helped patch people up. He was pretty certain that any ‘bedside manners’ he would normally have had were going to be trash, though.)
(That he could apply his powers of energy-draining ice to healing was something he was also looking forward to. He just needed to get through the seminars, the practices, and even the evaluations before he could even begin with his half-baked plan. That Headmaster Azur thought it was a possibility, and that O5 had agreed on the condition that he attempt it on other less-volatile SCPs first… it was perhaps the only reason he was willing to go through all this mess.)
(He needed some way to pay back his so-called family. He doubted that they’d still want him around once the need for the lie faded, but for now he was going to do what he could for them. No need to mention the idea to anyone just yet though. Not until he had tangible proof that the idea was even possible.)
Dr. Bright, for his part, of course, was simply sitting across from him, slowly spinning in circles in the chair. Getting those rolling swivel chairs had been something of an impulse buy on both Iceberg’s and Dr. Gears’ part. During the more busy seasons of paperwork, where the flow never seemed to slow down until late into the evening, those chairs had saved the two of them from needing to stand up and walk over to grab any papers that got filed or sorted wrong.
But they could easily be a major distraction. Like right now. Except it was Dr. Bright who was busy spinning around and ignoring Iceberg instead of Iceberg spinning and ignoring his desk of work.
Which was all sorts of rude, by the way. Dr. Bright had barged into the office, plopped himself into Dr. Gears’ chair, rolled himself over to Iceberg’s desk and started to chatter at him without so much as a ‘hello’. He’d even sort-of-accidentally smacked Iceberg in the head with a rolled up piece of paper when he tried to set it down on the desk. Right over all the paperwork that he needed to fill out- some of it Iceberg recognized as Dr. Bright’s own paperwork.
“Dr. Bright.” Iceberg spoke up after a moment of silence. “Why are you like this?”
“I was an orphan at a very young age, lost to the wondrous mysteries of the universe. I found myself in the body of a young Everest Jones once too many times. Decided that was boring and became Jack Bright instead. Things happened, then 076 killed me the first time, and I got stuck to 963 ever since. That answer your question?”
Iceberg only dropped his head back to his desk with a silent groan. He didn’t bother looking up when Dr. Bright started to laugh, but it was good to know at least one person was having fun around here. Even if it was at his expense.
“I meant… why this?” Here, Iceberg motioned to the opened-up blueprints that had since been unrolled. They were more a list of ideas rather than an actual design, but the thought process was pretty obvious when Iceberg had taken a cursory glance over it all. “Aren’t you prohibited from using chainsaws?”
“Nah, that’s Clef. I’m only prohibited from using chainsaws as my answer on how to stop a breach. Well, actually, I think the wording is more along the lines of using chainsaws as the answer to just about anything, but that’s boring. Unlike Clef, I haven’t ended anyone’s life with them. Yet.”
“That does not inspire much confidence in me, sir.”
“Let me let you in on a little secret, Icy-Boy. I’m not trying for confidence. If I know my shit, and you know your shit, then you shouldn’t need to worry about some creative licensing when it comes to the unusual application of items in the Foundation. Don’t you make homebrew bombs? I haven’t heard of any reports of people getting injured from your use of them, except that once, and no died then. It’s like that, except for me. And worse comes to worst for the Foundation, I can always get a new body.”
“… That worries me even more, sir.”
“… I see why Gears keeps you around. You’re a good kid. Now, about this schematic- Can you make it? R&D won’t touch it. Says it’s a waste of time. Think about how useful it would be, though!”
An obvious redirection, but Iceberg would allow it. He wasn’t certain he wanted to walk into some kind of logical fallacy with Dr. Bright. Neither of them were Dr. Glass. That said…
“Sir. You’re asking for a chainsaw. That’s on fire. That usually indicates a lack of proper safety when handling the machine.” He did still need to try and put in an effort to get out of this.
“Bah, I say! I can always get a new body. Pretty certain this thing is just as indestructible as 682.” Dr. Bright flicked the silver and ruby amulet that was sitting displayed on his chest. From what Iceberg knew, it was usually tucked into his shirt, but he was currently on day twenty-eight of his thirty day probation of being in a new body, so the thing was displayed for all to see.
(Iceberg was pretty certain it was for the benefit of the staff to get a month to come to terms with Dr. Bright having swapped bodies than it was any sort of... ‘It needs to be visible for a month to work’ sort of thing. After all, if it was hidden after swapping bodies, anyone could claim to be the man. Iceberg did every time he filled out paperwork for the guy, after all. It was easy to lie. Harder to prove it. Even harder when Dr. Bright wore the amulet out for all to see.)
“With all due respect, Dr. Bright, but I just don’t understand the appeal of… flaming chainsaws.” This elicited another round of laughs from the man, but Iceberg didn’t care this time. While he may enjoy using fire and fire-related objects, the idea of a chainsaw on fire was just… impracticable at best.
“Come on, what’s the harm in trying?” There were too many ways to answer that question, so he stuck with some of the basics. Start small and work up, or some shit like that.
(Dr Glass would be proud. Used in the wrong context, maybe, but still! Baby steps!)
“Sir… How would you even set one alight while still having it work? The heat this diagram talks about would burn through all the fuel within the first couple of seconds and set the user on fire. You now have a non-functional chainsaw, and a potentially dead body that’s on fire.” Iceberg tried his best to channel the Inner-Gears that the Foundation seemed to want him to develop, and he must have managed to succeed because Dr. Bright stumbled for a second before recomposing himself with a smile.
“See, there’s still some use out of the fiery chainsaw of death!”
Oh, maybe he hadn’t succeeded. Drat.
“The dead user, sir, or the useless lump of metal?”
“I refuse to answer that on the grounds that anything I say may be used in a court of law against me.”
“This is the SCP Foundation, and you’re Dr. Bright. I highly doubt they’re going to punish you for flaming chainsaws. Me, on the other hand? I’m Dr. Gears’ research assistant. I really shouldn’t be doing anything of this caliber without his permission.”
“Yeah? Weren’t you muttering about the best ways to break into the Level 4 Staff break room when I walked in?” Dr. Bright grinned when Iceberg dropped his head against the desk again. Of course the man had heard all that. Because of course he had. What even was his life and this point.
(Although, it said something that Dr. Bright wasn’t saying anything to stop him. He wasn’t going to think about it too much, though.)
“… Let me study this thing for a bit. I might be able to make something work. Would you settle for it being a flamethrower attachment for a chainsaw, or does it need to work as one solid piece?”
“Let’s see what you’re thinking, Bergie, then I’ll decide.”

Chapter Three: Robin and a Million Wrong Guesses
Notes:folks, i'm not going to lie, this isn't my best work. Unfortunately for myself I started another fic while writing this one and for some reason my only ideas are for that fic now. I promise, it'll get better...or maybe I'll just give up! we shall see. thank you for all the likes and reblogs, it means a lot!“So, then Dallas is your favorite character?” Robin asks, sitting at a barstool by the kitchen island. Steve and Robin have been filling the time between the arrival of food and Eddie by debating who the best Outsiders character is. “No, dude, Dallas is kinda mean sometimes! I just think he’s hot.” Steve retorts. “Well, if we’re just going by looks then Cherry is my favorite.” Robin smirks over at Steve before saying, “I always took you for a Sodapop kinda guy anyway.” Steve tilts his head, thinking about it a little. “Yeah, I guess. He tries to help out his brothers as best as he can and in the end he gets his heart broken by the girl he is in love with. Sounds about right!” Steve gives a weak chuckle. “No, I meant the fact that you are both willing to do anything for the people you love,” she starts, “But you’re also such pretty boys.” she adds before the moment can get too mushy for either of them.
As Steve predicted, Eddie and the pizza showed up at the same time. “Ya know, I’ve never actually seen The Outsiders.” Eddie shares, pulling a few slices onto his plate before coating them with the little packet of red pepper flakes. “Seriously,” Robin questions, “I mean you at least read it, right?” There is a moment of silence as they all find a place to sit in the living room. Steve and Robin on the couch and Eddie sprawled out in the big chair Robin was in earlier. “Why would I?” Eddie shrugs as he starts to chow down on his first slice. Robin and Steve exchange a glance and chuckle a little before Robin says “Because it was required reading junior year…” “Was it? Man, seems like ages ago. I don’t know, man. Maybe I did read it, but all the books they made us read were shit. I like to get lost in a book and I couldn’t really relate to Pip from Great Expectations.” Everyone laughed a little trying to picture Eddie really diving into the woes of a young man trying to climb the social and financial ladder all while trying to woo a girl.
“Okay, maybe I seriously misjudged the book.” They are about thirty minutes into the movie and Johnny and Ponyboy are running away after killing the Soc to try and find Dallas. Steve laughs a little, “Yeah, you think! It’s actually a really interesting story, right?!” Robin is lying across the sofa with her feet in Steve’s lap and Eddie has turned in the chair to get a better view of the TV, so his back is against an arm rest and his legs are thrown over the other armrest. “So who is your favorite character so far?” Robin asks. Earlier Steve and Robin decided that a person's type could be determined by who their favorite Outsiders character is. For example, Robin’s favorite character is Cherry and Robin has a thing for cute redheads. Steve’s favorite is Dallas because he is a “bad boy” with a heart of gold. “Sodapop!” Eddie answers without hesitation and Robin’s eyes get big as they drift over to lock with Steve’s. She purses her lips and tilts her head toward Steve as if to say “very interesting”.
After the movie was over, the trio let the credits roll as Robin and Steve let Eddie talk through and dissect the whole story (like he should’ve done junior year). When he’s done going over metaphors and character archetypes, Robin asks again, “So is Soda still your favorite character?” “Of course,” Eddie half-shouts, throwing his hands up, “why wouldn’t he be?” Robin snickers a little and slips a sideways glance before explaining her “Outsiders type” theory to Eddie. “Okay?” he says puzzled, “So I have a thing for pretty guys who are nice. Is that really a surprise?” He shrugs as he settles back into the chair. Steve can feel his face getting warmer and he can’t tell if it’s because Eddie just confirmed for 100% fact that he is Eddie’s type or if it’s because he can feel Robin staring at him trying to get him to look over and have another eye contact conversation. “So, I guess I can rule out Gareth,” Robin states sitting up on the sofa while Steve still refuses to make eye contact with her. Eddie’s brows knit together in confusion and he starts to look around a little thinking he missed something and somehow ended up in a different conversation, “Rule out Gareth for what? What did I miss?” “As the mystery man you keep ditching us for,” Robin wiggles her fingers when she says mystery. Eddie just laughs, “Oh, yeah that. Yeah I wouldn’t go for Gareth, but that’s not to say he hasn’t tried.” Steve can tell by the way Eddie is shifting in his chair that he is trying to move the conversation away from this topic. He isn’t the best at keeping secrets anyway and especially not now that Robin is pressing him for information. “Oh really?” Robin’s bangs shoot up behind her eyebrows, “what has he tried?” She asks, leaning forward to place her elbows on her knees while she listens. Steve perches forward a little as well, he never knew Gareth tried anything and, let's be honest, Steve is known to get a little jealous sometimes.
“Nothing really,” Eddie tries to brush it away, waving his hand in the air like it can actually push the conversation away,  “when he first joined Hellfire he would stay behind and help me with character sheets and one shots and stuff. The whole time I thought he was just super into D&D, but it turns out that he thought of them as dates.” Eddie was fiddling with his rings now and Steve huffed a little as he crossed his arms across his chest. “Pretty presumptuous, if you ask me.” It comes out as more of a mumble, but both Robin and Eddie hear and give him a look that says “what the fuck are you doing”. Steve rolls his eyes as he gets up to take their trash from dinner into the kitchen. “If it’s not someone we already know, then why are you being so secretive about it?” Even in the kitchen, Steve can hear Robin trying to whisper. There is a long pause and for a moment Steve thinks that maybe Eddie answered so quietly that he just couldn’t hear him. “Unless,” Robin starts, “it IS someone we know and that’s why you won’t tell us!” “Woah, wait a-” Eddie tries to defend himself, but Robin has already started shouting theories of who it could be and why Eddie would be hiding it. Steve makes his way back into the living room to find Robin standing on the couch slightly pacing as she rambles about who it could possibly be. Eddie is standing, staring up at her with a look of hopelessness on his face. Eddie and Steve look at each other, “should we just tell her?” Steve’s eyes ask. “She was bound to find out sometime,” Eddie’s eyes responded with a resigned shrug of his shoulders. “Robin-” Steve shouts, hands on his hips, she continues to ramble on about how it can’t be Argyle because there was no reason to hide that from anyone. “It would have to be someone super embarrassing, or maybe,” she pauses her pacing on the couch, “maybe he isn’t even out yet and that’s why you wont tell us!” “Robin!” Steve continues, if she would just stop for a second they’ll just tell her. “Oh Eddie, NO!” She suddenly stops her pacing and hops to the floor grabbing onto Eddie’s shoulders and giving him a little shake, “It’s Tommy Hagan isn’t it?!”
“WHAT?!” Both Eddie and Steve shout in shock before the whole room falls silent and still. Robin still has her hands on Eddie’s shoulders and her eyes seem to be pleading with him to tell her it isn’t true. Steve still has his hands on his hips, but his jaw had dropped nearly to the floor at the assumption that Eddie would go for someone like Tommy. Hadn’t Eddie just said he liked pretty boys who were nice? Tommy H was certainly not that! Why the hell would Eddie date Tommy? “Well I was just going to tell you who it was, but now I’ve got to hear this theory!” Eddie starts laughing so hard that he bends slightly at the waist and grabs his sides. Steve is still standing there, fuming over a relationship that wouldn’t happen in any world, and Robin is now looking at Eddie like he’s lost it.
After being able to look at Robin without breaking out into a fit of laughter, Eddie collapses on the couch and pulls Robin down with him leaving Steve standing still unsure of what exactly was going on. “Go on, tell me how you came to the conclusion that my secret lover is Tommy fucking Hagan.” Eddie can’t even get the sentence out without laughing. “Secret. Lover?” Steve ground out, giving Eddie an incredulous look. It was bad enough that Robin guessed Tommy, Eddie didn’t need to suggest anything further. Robin ignores Steve and barrels into explaining her thought process. “Well, it would have to be someone who we all know AND someone who would be embarrassing in some way or another. I would be pretty embarrassed to be dating the douchebag who slams people’s heads into lockers for laughs. But, no judgment here, my dear sweet Eddie, it’s hard enough for us gays here in Bumfuck, Indiana. If you really like him, then I’ll be happy to keep your secret.” Eddie is sent into another fit of giggles, meanwhile Steve lets the frustration sink in. He can’t believe Robin truly thinks Eddie would date some dipshit like Tommy! “You must be joking!” Steve starts, causing Robin to turn fully to face him and Eddie’s laughter to die down. “You really think that Eddie would willingly go out with the guy who threatened to dunk his head in a toilet or light his hair on fire?” There is a long pause as Steve looks at Robin in disbelief. “Well…that’s part of the reason he doesn’t want to tell anyone.” She states again. “Oh Jesus, Robin!” Steve throws his hands in the air before they come down with a sharp smack against his thighs. “Look, Robs, it was hilarious at first,” Eddie says, drawing her attention away from Steve's mini mental break, “But, I do have higher standards than that.”
“Then who?! Who could it possibly be?!” “ME, Robin! Did you ever think that, maybe, it could possibly be me?” Steve asks rhetorically with eyes wide. Both Eddie and Robin are now staring at him like he was in the middle of growing a third head. There is a long silence. A couple minutes stretches into 10 minutes of silence. Robin looking between the two boys, Eddie looking at Steve with adoration and looking back at Robin to gauge her reaction, but through the whole time, Steve kept his eyes on Robin. It must’ve been twenty minutes before someone made a sound and when they did, it was Robin laughing.

chapter 3: the dangers inside
the umbrella academy x reader
disclaimer: i do not own the plot/storyline of the netflix tv series and i do not own the umbrella academy characters.
warnings: swearing, mentions of death
masterlist
y/n stared at the blue energy in the courtyard before deciding to join her siblings as they rushed to see what it was. as she ran down the stairs she caught sight of klaus holding a fire extinguisher.
"what are you doing?" she caught up with him.
"something" he shrugged, bursting out the door first. "out of the way!"
"thats not going to- klaus what the hell?" y/n went to stop him only to watch as he tried to extinguish the mass of energy. she shook her head in disbelief, stepping beside vanya.
klaus chucked the extinguisher when he realised it wouldn't work.
"what is that gonna do?" allison shouted over the loud noise. klaus threw his hands up.
"i don't know. do you have a better idea?" he stepped back in surprise as another flash came from the portal. luther pulled klaus back.
"everyone get behind me!" and in true sibling rivalry diego nodded, shielding vanya and y/n.
"yeah, get behind us!"
they watched, brows furrowing at the familiar figure that dropped to the ground. as they stepped closer the vortex disappeared.
"is that-?" y/n looked up at vanya, peeking around diego to see.
there, in a too large sized suit, stood their missing brother. he pushed himself to his feet taking in their appearance.
"does anyone else see little number five is that just me?" klaus questioned as they walked closer. the said boy stared down at himself in confusion before looking back at them.
"shit" he cursed.
--------------------------------------------------
they all moved back into the kitchen, letting five do as he pleased while he explained what he needed to.
he placed a chopping board and knife on the table while the others stood at the other end. y/n stood off to the corner, not entirely comfortable with them after being accused of murder. "what's the date? the exact date"
five walked around, grabbing bread to make himself a sandwich. vanya answered, "the 24th"
"of what?" five pushed walking back over.
"march"
"good" he pulled out two pieces of bread, laying them on the chopping board.
"so, are we going to talk about what just happened?" luther raised an eyebrow, expectantly but five stayed silent. "its been 17 years!" luther stood, frustrated but five wasn't taking any of his bullshit.
"it's been a lot longer than that" the shorter boy walked towards him before blinking behind him to grab the marshmallows. luther sighed,
"i haven't missed that"
"where'd you go?" diego piped up, unfazed.
"the future" five sighed, "and it's shit by the way" he opened up the bag of marshmallows.
"called it!" klaus raised his finger.
"do you want one?" five looked up at y/n, referring to the sandwich, a soft gleam in his eyes. the others shared a look, of course he had only missed her. she gently shook her head with a small smile. "i should have listened to the old man" five walked to the fridge, pulling out a jar. "he knew. travelling through space is one thing, travelling through time is a toss of the dice"
he paused as he opened the peanut butter, looking up at them again before noticing klaus' attire. "nice dress"
"oh, danke" klaus twirled loose material around. allison rolled her eyes.
"how did you get back?"
"in the end i had to project my consciousness forward into a suspended quantum state version of myself that exists across every possible instance of time" he continued making his sandwich like he hadn't just shocked them.
"that makes no sense" diego scoffed,
"well, it would if you were smarter" five shrugged, ignoring the way diego stood up to fight him. luther held him back.
"did you put a decimal point in the wrong spot?" y/n asked, surprising the others. she crossed her arms, thinking "it was probably a miscalculation in your proof of the existence of a bound for the number of limit cycles of planar polynomial vector fields of fixed degree."
five paused, thinking it over before realising she was right. "it should have been 0.57" he mumbled.
"how long were you there?" luther changed the subject, obviously confused.
"45 years" five went back to his sandwich making. "give or take"
everyone sat back down in shock.
"so what are you saying? that you're 58?!" luther narrowed his eyes in disbelief. there was no way.
"no" five looked up, speaking through gritted teeth. "my consciousness is 58. apparently my body is now 16 again"
"how does that even work?" vanya croaked out, still shocked at the situation.
"delores kept saying the equations were off" five shrugged, stepping away and looking off into the distance as he took a bite of his sandwich. "bet she's laughing now"
"delores?" vanya asked. y/n froze, he had kept her? at the girl's movement, or lack thereof, allison looked over at her, raising her eyebrows.
y/n shook her head, waving it off.
five picked up the newspaper on the table, staring at the picture of their father.
"hm.. guess i missed the funeral"
"how'd you know about that?" luther questioned, defensive.
"what part of the future do you not understand?" five narrowed his eyes, slightly amused by his brothers incompetence. "heart failure, huh?"
"yeah-" diego started only to be cut off by luther.
"no" there was silence for a moment before a kitchen knife stabbed into the table beside luther's hand.
"if i had murderous intent, luther, you'd be the first on my list" y/n scoffed, walking out.
they all stared after her in shock.
"nice to see nothing's changed" five sighed before following her out.
"thats it?" allison asked, turning towards him as he walked. "thats all you have to say?"
"what else is there to say? circle of life" he called back.
--------------------------------------------------
vanya walked up to five in the parlour where he stood staring at his painting.
"nice to know dad didn't forget me" five turned to her, "read your book by the way.. found it in the library that was still standing"
he started to walk around, noticing y/n sitting on the balcony above. she had her legs dangling through the bars, calmly reading a book. he turned back to vanya.
"thought it was pretty good, all things considered" he stared her down, "definitely ballsy, giving up the family secrets. sure that went over well"
"they hate me" vanya frowned,
"well there are worse things that can happen" five was obviously trying to cheer her up, in his own way.
"you mean like what happened to ben?" there was a pause, both thinking it over.
"was it bad?" five asked softly, he knew y/n was still listening. he heard the faint sound of a book shutting. he looked away as vanya nodded.
"y/n had a hard time dealing with it.. the worst of all of us. dad forbid her from going on missions after her reaction.."
"her reaction?" five turned back, eyebrows furrowing, this wasn't in vanya's book.
"she nearly tore our souls out.. she was devastated and couldn't control her emotions. dad said it helped her though, something about a new ability. he trained her alone from then, forcing her to find you" vanya shrugged, sighing, going silent.
"find me?" five pushed, "what do you mean find me?"
"she said she did.. did she not?" vanya looked surprised now.
"no, no she did.. just didn't stay long is all" five shook his head, frowning.
"yeah well, they stopped trying when she lied to dad"
"she lied?" five looked back up at where she was previously sitting but now she was gone, the only thing left behind was her book and a wisp of smoke.
--------------------------------------------------
"ben.. i'm- i'm scared" eight sat cross legged in front of his statue. "my powers are getting stronger and i'm scared to hurt the others. i wish you were still here" she refused to cry no matter how much she wanted to. she couldn't let the same thing happen.
"i'm scared ben. what if i can't control it? what if hurt somebody? you're not here to help me and i-.. it hurts sometimes. dad doesn't understand, he never did but it hurts to suppress my emotions like he wants me to. we try so hard and he still never thinks we're enough.." she paused, pulling her knees up to her chest. "what if i am weak? what if he's right?"
unbeknownst to her ben's ghost sat beside her. "you're not weak" he shook his head, moving to look at her face. "you'll never be weak, you're so strong. please keep being strong for me" he pleaded with her as she continued to blame herself. he hated this. he hated not being there for her. he just wanted her to be okay.
--------------------------------------------------
y/n walked beside five, standing under his umbrella with him. they didn't speak as they walked back out into the courtyard. the siblings all stood in line with luther in front of them, carrying their dad's ashes.
"did something happen?" grace looked at them all, smiling despite the occasion. they all looked up at her.
"dad died.." allison answered, confused. "remember?"
"oh, yes of course" grace nodded, expression turning more somber.
"is mom okay?" allison asked, now worried about how grace was acting.
"yeah, yeah she's fine" diego quickly defended, "she just needs to rest, you know, recharge" allison looked incredulous but dropped it nonetheless.
pogo stepped forwards, looking up at luther. "whenever you're ready, dear boy"
luther breathed out, opening the lid and dropping the ashes in a pitiful pile. they all frowned.
"probably would have been better with some wind" luther griped,
"does anyone wish to speak?" pogo ignored it, looking at the rest of them. everyone stayed silent, looking away. "very well.. in all regards, sir reginald hargreeves made me what i am today, for that alone i shall forever be in his debt. he was my master and my friend and i shall miss him very much.." he paused, "he leaves behind a complicated legacy-"
"he was a monster" diego cut off, still staring down at the ashes. klaus laughed. "he was bad person and a worse father. the world's better off without him-"
"diego" allison scolded, glaring at him in surprise.
"my name is number two. you know why?" he looked over at her. "because our father couldn't be bothered to give us actual names, he had mom do it"
"would anyone like something to eat?" grace asked, smiling again, unaware of what was happening.
"no, its okay mom" vanya denied, albeit confused.
"oh, okay"
"look, you wanna pay your respects" diego stepped out in front of them, "go head, but at least be honest about the kind of man he was" he looked at pogo now.
"you should stop talking now" luther warned, anger growing. diego glared at him for a moment before fully turning to face him.
"you know, you of all people should be on my side here, number one"
"i am warning you-" diego ignored him,
"after everything he did to you" y/n sighed, crossing her arms to her chest, fighting wasn't going to fix any of them. klaus and five shared a look. "he had to ship you a million miles away"
"diego stop talking-" luther tried again. diego was definitely hitting a nerve. he jabbed a finger into luther's chest.
"that's how much he couldn't stand the sight of you!" luther grabbed his arm and swung at his head. diego ducked. they begun fighting while everyone else backed away.
"boys! stop this at once!" pogo attempted to stop them, moving back despite this.
klaus held an arm out to shield five and y/n. the former slapped it away. they continued to fight, diego egging him on and landing several punches. klaus began to chant while vanya yelled at them to stop.
"klaus" y/n warned, gaining both his and five's attention. her eyes were turning black, she was struggling.
"y/n? are you okay?" five hadn't been there, he didn't know what she would do if she lost control. pogo walked away, not wanting to stay. klaus nervously watched y/n while the others watched luther and diego fight.
"i don't have time for this" five sighed, beginning to walk away, leaving y/n with klaus under his small pink umbrella.
that was when it happened. y/n froze as they knocked ben's statue.
"aw" klaus complained while allison glared at them.
"and there goes ben's statue"
"klaus?" y/n's voice scared them all. she sounded weak. she gripped his jacket, tightly. "klaus"
"what's wrong?" he looked down at her, watching as she fought her emotions. her eyes were turning black but she kept fighting it.
diego pulled out his knife and vanya's shouting at him to stop made it harder for y/n to calm herself. he threw it at luther, cutting his arm.
"klaus" she called again and he held her arm unsure of what to do. "i-i can't.. i can't-" she let out a pained whine as her eyes darkened, she was letting go. suddenly diego and luther let out shouts of pain.
"what's going on?!" allison watched them, confused and distraught. vanya quickly left their mother's side, pulling y/n into her.
"its okay, you're okay" vanya whispered to her, trying to calm her. "it can be fixed, you're okay, just relax. try to relax" listening to vanya's heartbeat she slowly calmed down, the blackness of her eyes seeping away and diego and luther straightened, no longer in pain.
y/n stared at them in shock and guilt before shaking her head and running inside. she locked herself in her room again. she was truly a demon.
--------------------------------------------------
one by one the siblings left, y/n watched sadly as they all abandoned her again. she was always left alone, the family problems only got bigger when they got together. she sighed, maybe she was better off alone.
--------------------------------------------------
y/n looked up from her book as she heard frantic footsteps around the mansion. peeking out her door she noticed vanya slowing down in front of five's room.
"oh thank god" she disappeared through his doorway but y/n could still hear her voice. "i was worried sick about you"
five had talked to vanya? why hadn't he come to her?
"sorry i left without saying goodbye" five's voice answered softly. what had he been doing? y/n quietly left her room to hear better. she wanted to be apart of her brother's plans too. she didn't want to be left out anymore.
"no, i'm the one that should be sorry. i was dismissive and i guess i didn't know how to process what you were saying.." vanya paused, "i still can't to be honest"
"maybe you were right to be dismissive" five huffed, that didn't sound like him at all? what was he really doing? "maybe it wasn't real after all.. it felt real. but well, like you said the old man did say time travel could contaminate the mind"
well vanya referred him to a therapist y/n tried to sense the room. something else was going on. carefully using her power she felt another person.. klaus. when vanya walked out y/n quickly turned to smoke, gliding along the floor, past five who watched vanya leave. klaus pulled himself out of the closet.
"that's so touching, all that stuff about family and dad and time"
"will you shut up? she'll hear you" five warned him, walking back over.
"you're lying to vanya?" y/n appeared next to klaus, crossing her arms and raising an eyebrow.
"it's nothing you should worry about" five dismissed before looking klaus over again. "i thought i told you to put on something professional"
"what? this my nicest outfit" klaus gestured to it. y/n snorted when five scoffed.
"we'll raid the old man's closet"
"whatever, as long as i get paid" klaus shrugged, beginning to walk behind five.
"when the job is done" they stopped just above the stairs.
"so, where are we going?" she followed along, smiling innocently at five who raised an eyebrow at her.
"not we, just klaus and i" five shook his head, shoving his hands in his pockets.
"five" she frowned,
"y/n" he mocked.
"just let me come, please don't leave me in the dark. i just want to help you" she pleaded, she had missed him.
he thought it over before sighing, "fine" he turned to walk again but klaus stopped him.
"but just so we're clear on the finer details" he waved his hand around, talking over the plan. "i just got to go into this place and pretend to be your dear old dad, correct?"
"yeah, something like that" five agreed, exasperated.
"what's our cover story?" klaus continued, ignoring five's look of annoyance.
"what? what are you talking about?" five shared a confused look with y/n who shrugged.
"i mean was i young when i had you, like 16.. like young and terribly misguided" five agreed just to get him to stop but he didn't. "your mother, that slut, whoever she was, we met at.. the disco and you can be his sister"
"i am his sister?" y/n raised an eyebrow, but klaus only smiled, clicking his fingers.
"okay, remember that. oh my god the sex was amazing"
y/n scoffed, walking away first, five following. "what a disturbing glimpse into that thing you call a brain"
"don't make me put you in time out" klaus waved a finger at him.
as they walked out the door onto the street y/n paused.
"what's wrong, baby sis?" klaus asked, wrapping his arm around her shoulders. "you're not backing out already?"
"no!" she quickly denied, looking up at him as she snapped out of her starstruck daze. "it's just.. i haven't left the house in 16 years.."
klaus and five shared a sorrowful look. what had happened to her?

give us anything about NakedToaster i’m becoming desperate 🤲 you can go on the longest tangent of your life if you wanna
ask and you shall receive!!!! TOASTY ENJOYERS THIS IS FOR YOU!!!
toaster, ahhh ideal introverted gamer s/o. I myself am a gamer (though not final fantasy, sorry toasty), so I feel like toasty x gamer s/o would be such an ideal couple??
the two of you would have adorable set ups that match or are total opposites of each other. probably a room dedicated for just gaming. maybe you push him to start streaming on twitch / youtube and yall become the most adored gaming couple EVER.
honestly even if you don't play ff, toasty would still be interested into what you play. he'd probably try it out as well, just to see if he would like it. if he did, he would happily play it with you! but if it wasn't his cup of tea, he'd still happily hear you talk about your game's lore/characters you have. even if he didn't understand because they are head over HEELS for you
that being said, it would be hard if you are introverts. because he . too is an introvert :') but he'd still take charge if a situation arises and you physically and emotionally cannot do anything about it. toaster- beet red, blushing and flustered- trying to perform an extroverted task just for you. he is a KEEPER.
if you were an extrovert, great! balance is there. you do the things required to talk to people, and he provides you with undying love (not that he wouldn't do that already).
if you weren't a gamer though, dont worry! toasty is in love with you, not the fact that you game. whatever you were interested, he'd definitely look into it. like the game, he'd still be happy to listen to whatever you have to talk about if it means he gets to hear you talk and see you happy.
NETFLIX AND CHILL!!! NETFLIX AND CHILL!!!!!!
except its in the literal sense. netflix on the tv, food spread on the coffee table as you lounge on the couch. toast would lay their head in your lap, their favorite position.
he loves it when you play with their hair, that's a very obvious thing. but toasty actually wouldn't ask you to do it straight up. just the thought would kill him.
so he'd just . lay there . hoping you'd notice. o(-(
you do, but it's fun seeing him struggle sometimes ;)
you'd see him shifting in your lap, making it obvious he wants you to run your fingers through your hair (and truthfully you have to physically stop yourself because you would unconsciously do it if you didn't). he ties and takes off his hair tie, making sure you got the hint. he'd pout when he catches on that oh theyre doing this on purpose aren't they and eventually you'd just burst into laughter, and toasty would go all red, embarassed that you'd pull that on him.
OKOKK A THOUGHT: sitting on his lap when he games.
the first time that happens he's going to be so rigid its like sitting on a solid chair. how can they be so solid like this. give them time, about a few months, and toasty would start to warm up to you.
but imagine before he does, he's just so rigid. his hands on the keyboard stiff as well. if he games with xyx on call all xyx could hear are occasional stutters and stammering. he'd have a straight face- toast was good at hiding his emotions like that- but he'd be so red. he wouldn't know when to move. or what to do. was the way he was breathing comfortable? was it okay move his arms so much? would yelling annoy you? and all those things.
but after a while, when toast would realize that nothing he do would really bother you, he'd be more relaxed.
you'd sit on his lap, chest to chest with your chin resting on his shoulders as you mindlessly scroll on your phone, fingers mindlessly running through his hair.
or with your back to him, his head resting on your chin as you watch him game. the silence filled with occasionally one of the two of your's comments would be enough. you'd laugh at something you find online, or cheer at his playing; and that's all it takes for him to fall deeper in love with you.

Crush Rindou x f!reader
-A little crush is formed when you see people get beat the living shit out of them
Warning: mild language, soft rin, mentions of violence, some pet names are used,
In the city of roppangi, two infamous brothers roam the streets. Others shivering at their names and bowing in their presence. With a baton in one hand and fist full of hair in the other the other brother, Ran, continued to punch the stranger. Rindou, the younger brother, crouched down staring him in the face tauntingly. This became as daily thing between the two brothers. A past time, a hobby, a cute bonding activity for the two.
While a high-school student like me has a more calming hobby. I enjoy riding my bike after school doing whatever I feel like that day. Some days my friends accompany me but days like today they sadly couldn’t. I’ve heard a lot about the two brothers. How fast they took over the city. I found it stupid. They’re only a year older than me, like how are they not in school doing their work. It’s irritating to know that they’re out here being bad ass kids and beating up innocent people. I sound like an old lady but I believe it’s better than them.
I did fear to see them to be honest though. I jokingly say things about them with my friends and classmates as one does. I mean, they’re only a year older than us so most of us are amazed at their reputation. How scary could they possibly be? Right. As I hold my scraped knees and sit behind a tree, I then realized how scary they can be.
Today during my bike ride alone, I noticed the quiet streets. It felt more peaceful than most days. So when I decided to take a different route, and it was even quieter I became wary. An uneasy feeling pits in my stomach but I do get distracted at the peaceful scenery. The sky a deep shade of blue as clouds float in the air. The train can be heard from afar and small convenience stores rest with little to no customers. Along with the stray cats pondering about. It’s hard to feel so scared when everything is so lovely.
I slow my bike down, which wouldn’t hurt anyone right. Wrong. As soon as my heartbeat settled down I hear a loud screech. My peaceful moment came to a halt and at that moment I didn’t know what to feel. As I saw a group of men, some big some small but definitely not smaller than me, beating up another group of guys. I knew there was no other path so before anything I scurry into the side of the park. Ditching my bike as getting secure behind a tree.
I didn’t want to think that they’d hurt me just because I walked by but I’m not taking any chances. As the fight progressed more guys started spacing from each other’s, and unconscious bodies layed around. Each getting closer to you as more men are thrown around. It seems like 30 minutes go by until finally a silence can be heard.
“Roppangi prevails as they beat you guys once more!" A man shouts loudly. He’s quite bulky and is filled with small bruises, presumably from the fight. I notice the crowd looking one way. It wasn't at the bulky man, but rather two boys, presumably my age, standing next to the bulky man. They looked similar. With dark smiles and glaring dead eyes. The gang speach went on for a few more minutes. Until many started to clear out after loud cheers.
I stay still not waiting until no one is around. I see them carrying each other by the shoulders and others trying to wake their knocked out gang members. A few more minutes pass. Everyone seems to be gone, but two. The two boys stay sitting conversating with the bulky man. I was definitely more scared of the man rather than the two boys. So I waited and waited until he was released. The night was coming in already, I definitely underestimated how long fights can be. So as the bulky man leaves I give it a minute and run to my bike.
With a beating heart and fear in my viens I look down and walk as fast as I can past the boys. Until a slim body slams a baton on it my bike.
"Well well, what do we have here?" a sultry voice spoke, I can almost here the way he smiled. Not a kind one, but a way you'd see in a horror movie.
“I’m on my way home.” I spoke quietly still looking down. The one with blue streaks grabbed my bike shaking it a bit, “hmm? A pretty little thing like you shouldn’t be our so late yeah?” His gloved hand slowly slid over my bike reach my wrist. He slowly tapped it rubbing the finger pads of his glove across the skin. Then he grabbed it pulling me forward.
“Why’d you got dirt on your hands doll?” He raised a brow and the man with braids peeped in, “And some scrapes on your knees hmm?” I tried pulling my wrist away but it he held tighter.
“I fell off my bike earlier, no big deal.” I tried to act calm despite how I felt on the inside. The braided man touched my waist to grab it but I was pulled away from him by the other one.
“I’ll deal with her, can’t leave this pretty thing all alone.” Ran stared at his brothers out of character acting. “Whatever you say.” He let’s go walking away and waving to us bye. The blue streaked man stared at me with his round glasses, “shall we go?”
“Go where?”
“Your house of course.”
So here you were. Walking. With this random boy you didn’t know. It was awkward as you both had a hand on the bike trialing along silently. He hummed quietly.
“You know,” he began to speak, “we knew you were there the whole time.”
“WHAT.” I widened my eyes at his words. He laughed at my expression, “We’re not idiots. We can see you head peeking out the tree. It was quite amusing. Cute almost.” He smiled to me and I laughed.
“You’re quite scary you know.” His eyes opened a little more at my boldness, “Is that so?” I nodded saying a quiet ‘yup.’ He silently laughed.
“Do you know who I am.” I picked up my head a bit and shook my head, “should I?” I look into his eyes and at that my moment realize just who he is. Messy hair, the two boys look alike, delinquents, a baton, and the malicious violet eyes that said it all.
It was a Haitani. Assuming the younger one as the other man looked older.
“Oh my god.” I tightened my grip on the bike trying to pull it away from him, but he didn’t relent. “Rindou Haitani sweetheart.” I stayed looking down once more, so he spoke again, “I was surprised to see you today. You usually take a different route right.” This made my head jerk towards him.
“Im not a stalker or anything but I happen to see you a lot by chance, when I’m doing business.” I knew exactly what he meant by “business.” He looked down swinging his hand, “Believe it or not…I have wanted to talk to you but I’ve been to scared.” I felt a bit embarrassed and laughed a little too. A gangster who’s to embarrassed to talk to a pretty girl.
“Oh, I see.” We stayed silent as I looked up to finally see my house. “Well, we’re here. Thanks for walking bye.” I pursed my lips and awkwardly waved goodbye. But he stopped me by grabbing my bike tightly once more. “W-wait. I know I may come off as creepy or scary but I really do want a chance. So please,” he went into the bowing position and let go of the bike, “give me a chance!” I smiled warmly at this. A delinquent bowing down to me? And especially with the tips of his ears a tint of red.
He looked up at me as I pat his head softly, “I guess I could give you a chance. There’s definitely a lot to work out but I don’t mind being friends for now, yeah?” He cleared his throat, “yeah, that’d be great.” We stood smiling at each other for a second then finally waging goodbye.
I threw myself into my bed and kicked my legs into the air. I guess I have a crush.
A crush on Rindou Haitani.
Bonus:
As Rindou walked he was greeted to an empty house. He finally put off his cool demeanor and played a loud song. He then looked around once more and pressed play. He jumped up and down silently yelling “yes” as he felt the victory inside him. He was so proud of himself and was truly a nerd at heart as you can see. But it was to embarrassing for his brother or you to know. He kept doing a small celebration dance until Ran walked in.
Unfortunately for him he didn’t hear Ran walk in as he was just so excited. Ran, who’d just woken up from a nap, stared at his brother in disgust and discomfort. In the heat of the moment he took out his phone and recorded when he started sadly enough, Rindou had already seen him.
Rindou awkwardly tumbled over his feet to stop the music. And stood in an odd position staring at his brother with embarrassment. They stare at each other for a good minute before ran spoke.
“You like her?” He asked
Rindou nodded
“Then never do that again.”
Rindou nodded again and stared at the ground in shame and embarrassment.
“I was just-“ ran cut him off, “nope, let’s end it here. No more.” Rindou nodded….again.
The two couldn’t look at each other for a week without remembering it.

as you locked the door behind you, Erwin waited patiently at the sidewalk. as you walked side by side, you felt the need to eliminate the silence in the air.
"how long have you lived here?", you asked intently. you wanted to confirm what you already knew.
"since the war ended.", he stated. just like everyone else here, you thought. "i was a commander in the survey corps.", he went on.
this did not take you by surprise. the tall, blond man, though quiet in his interactions, looked as though he had the ability to command not only the attention of a room but an entire city if he pleased. "ah, i see. I'm sorry.", you spoke quietly. you weren't sure what to say.
"thanks."
"you probably got to see some beautiful land outside the walls before many other people did.", you replied, in an attempt to lighten the mood. "i couldn't believe all of the foliage around when i came here. i had never seen bright colors of flowers like here before, inside the walls."
"indeed, i did.", Erwin hummed. "i never gave it much thought until people started telling me things of similar sentiment. do you have a garden?"
"oh, no. i live in a loft above the newspaper printer's office.", you shrugged. "maybe one day. i'd like to supply some of my own produce for the bakery. i do have some heirloom tomatoes planted on my windowsill, though." you pointed up ahead. "there is my stop."
"i’m better with animals than plants.", he said. "i have a horse in the stables across town." he didn't want to leave you, but you had just met. it would be rude to invite myself in, he thought. how can i see her again, and soon? "do you have plans tomorrow? would you like to join me in a walk to the stables, then we could have lunch?" was that too much?
"oh, umm... sure! that works. just come up to my door, whenever you're ready." you brushed your hair behind your ears in a nervous attempt to keep your hands busy.
he smiled and nodded. "i'll see you tomorrow, Miss Y/N."
"be safe on your way, Erwin. see you tomorrow."
-
a knock on your door, just as you spread jam onto your bagel. you didn't think he would be here this early. you quickly pulled out another plate with a bagel before running to the door.
"good morning!", you exclaimed as you gestured for Erwin to come in. "i have a bagel for you, if you'd like."
"did you make it?", he pried as he followed you down the small hallway into the kitchen nook. he felt like a giant in your small living quarters.
"i did.", you laughed, looking back at him over your shoulder. "i even made the jam."
"oh! then I must. What a wonderful morning.", he jested.
your black kitty crept around the corner of the living room where he could catch a glimpse of your guest. "you have a friend?", Erwin asked.
"oh! Pepper, yes. he's a fine companion. i couldn't stand to live alone." you didn't think about what you said.
"it's not so bad...", Erwin trailed. "he is pretty, though. it does tempt me. my horse doesn't fit in my apartment, unfortunately."
you smirked at his little joke. "i've never ridden a horse before. i'm not sure I've ever even touched one."
"well, we shall change that soon enough.", he said, followed by the last bite of your offering.
you kept closer to Erwin's side today than you did on your walk home yesterday. it was about a half hour leisurely walk to the stables. he made small talk about the library, apologizing more than once about how he came into the bakery so often but never introduced himself. you could tell he was a lonely man who needed someone to be around rather than just a character in his everyday life. he needed a relationship with a solid foundation, something he could come back to, whether it be platonic or romantic. it seemed as if he had no one.
until, he mentioned someone as you neared the stable. "My friend, from the survey corps, has a horse here as well. i spoke to him early this morning. if you want to learn to ride, he doesn't mind if you ride his horse."
"you must have spoke very highly of me to this friend.", you teased.
for the first time, Erwin laughed heartily. it was a deep, loud laugh. heartwarming, in fact. "you know, maybe i did. he knows of you. he has come to your shop before. short, dark headed. big scar on his face?" you noticed Erwin's speech become less formal and more causal the longer you talked.
"oh! i know him. he likes my scones.", you realized, remembering the somber man coming into your store a few times. "short? he's taller than me!"
"Y/N, he may be taller than you, but imagine a man his size fighting in the war. i don't know if any other scouts that were of his stature." Erwin shook his head at the memory as he pushed the door of the stable open and allowed you to walk through in front of him.
the manure smell was borderline overwhelming. Erwin chuckled as the sudden neighing of a horse caused you to jump a little. "the white one is mine. the black one next door is yours for the day. mine is named Sugar. Levi's horse is named Ember." you thought it was cute that Erwin's horse was named Sugar. "here," he said as he handed you a bristle brush. "brush him to get him used to you.", he instructed, gesturing to Ember.
the horse snorted and shook its mane as you brushed its coat. You were amazed at the way it's skin rippled at your touch. "hello, Ember.", you spoke softly to the gentle giant. "i am no horse expert, but i suspect you and your friend are well taken care of."
"i come every day either before or after i leave the library. but Levi, he spends a lot of time with Ember. he probably takes care of most of these horses here more than their owners do."
"whose horses are these?", you asked.
"mostly people who had military affiliation, or something similar, like myself.", Erwin answered.
you watched intently as Erwin saddled Sugar, and then Ember. he pulled a step stool over from the outside of the stable door to help you get on the horse. "let's see here... step up here, hold onto me as you get on. i'll help you up." You weren't sure if you should feel uncomfortable or not touching his armless shoulder for support, but he didn't seem to mind so you didn't give it much thought. his hand on your back kept you steady as you swung your leg over the horse.
beside you, Erwin mounted his horse with ease. "just gently hold the reigns. Ember will know the follow me."
Erwin and Sugar guided you out in to a small pasture behind the stables, edging on the border of town. "what's say an hour or so of some light riding, then we can put them up? nothing too wild for your first time." you nodded in agreement. Sugar and Ember enjoyed munching on grass and hay, trotting lightly beside one another as Erwin guided them around the pasture. he told you about how Ember's owner, Levi, had worked with Erwin in the survey corps and now lived across the hall from him. however, they didn't hang out, per say. Erwin said there wasn't anything nice for them to talk about, but sometimes they enjoyed each other's company. "Unlike most people, he doesn't seem to want or care for having a friend.", Erwin spoke of Levi. "It worries me to some extent."
you hummed in response. "i think everyone needs a friend. i guess you are his friend, but he doesn't utilize you as he should, because what's the use in venting to someone who was there for all the bad stuff?"
"i suppose that may be the case. anyhow, i can't force anything upon him. i hope one day he comes out of his shell. maybe one day you'll have your own horse and he can come with us.", Erwin winked.
"you wouldn't let me ride with you and Sugar?", you asked teasingly.
Erwin scoffed. "that is for Sugar to decide." the snow white horse snorted, earning a giggle from both you and Erwin.
-
Erwin lead you into a familiar, quaint bistro style restaurant for lunch. you had met the owner a few times, as you had met most of the other food establishment owners through a social held at the market when the town was still new and blossoming. everyone had discussed how owning a restaurant or shop would be difficult in the first year or so of living in Harmon, as the economy had to build itself up. it was in fact rough, but you all had managed to survive the first stride as everyone found a place for themselves in this new society. the owner was a peculiar woman, with an upbeat and loud personality. you knew she ran a tight ship at her restaurant. she had high expectations of her cooks and servers.
Erwin waved at the woman as she spotted him from across the room. she excitedly came over to the table you had been seated at.
"Erwin!", she exclaimed. "and Y/N! Y/N, it's been so long since i last saw you. we need to organize another get together soon!" then she looked at Erwin. "how do you know each other?" it sounded like more of a demand than a question.
Erwin cleared his throat to speak, but you spoke before he could. "he's my most loyal customer." you smiled cheekily at Hange as she raised her eyebrows.
"oh my! well, of course! the man has always had a sweet tooth, for as long as I can remember!" she threw her hands up. "any time we came back from a mission, he always wanted to have a treat before he could have some rest. do you know how many pans of sweet bread I have made for him?"
"yes, Hange, quite a few. but, they didn't compete with anything at Honey Bear's.", Erwin raised his brows at her. "stick to the savories."
"that's why I am the best sandwich shop in Harmon." she crossed her arms. "bring basket of muffins over next week and your meals are on the house."
"you got it. If you have time, we can discuss getting together with some of the other owners soon." as Hange left your table after taking your orders, you looked to Erwin for some explanation.
"she was a captain under me in survey corps, and i named her as my successor when i lost my arm. despite her quirkiness, she is quite intelligent. Hange actually performed many of the experiments and studies that led to what we know about titans today."
"oh, wow. i had no idea. i met her just after i opened Honey Bear's. she was actually the one who invited me to the owner's guild. when the market first started running, she and i would host a table together, until i decided to stop working on mondays."
-
before meeting you, Erwin came and went as he pleased. he didn't have any set schedule or routine to follow. the more time he spent around you, he wanted to arrange his day-to-day life to maximize the time he had to spend with you. he started coming to the bakery in the morning, as you opened. you gave him whatever you had made first, telling him that now he was your "sampler." some mornings, he came into the kitchen and watched as you and your employees mixed up the first batches of the day. on one particular morning, Madeline tried to teach both of you how to pour the perfect crepe into the pan. you couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy as Erwin was instantly better at it than yourself. other days, he sat in the dining room with a book. Erwin worked at the library as you ran the bakery, and at the end of your work day, he pulled your chalkboard inside for you and watched as you wrote out tomorrow's menu before the two of you went to the stables to check on Sugar. Levi typically took Sugar and Ember out to graze earlier in the day while Erwin was at work, so every other day, you and Erwin would take Sugar out for a ride. every evening, he fell asleep thinking about the feeling of your arms around his waist, your head resting on his back as you discussed your day with one another.
Erwin knew he was in love when, after about 2 months of this routine, he awoke in a cold sweat in the middle of the night, his chest heaving. it wasn't uncommon for Erwin to suffer from nightmares inspired by the events of the war. images of titans grabbing ahold of him, teasingly licking at his flesh before devouring him, the scenes of the limbs of his soldiers everywhere he turned.
but this one was different. he walked into the bakery, but no one was there. he called your name. the door was unlocked, so you must be here, somewhere. he walked behind the counter and into the kitchen, to find a 3 meter titan crouched over your already lifeless body, slowing consuming you. it wasn't like the other dreams where Erwin couldn't defeat the titans. he quickly slashed the nape of its neck, but it didn't matter. you were gone. he was too late. he watched as your blood continued to puddle underneath his shoes, steam bathing his skin.
it was all he could think about. he couldn't go back to sleep. he knew you were fine. after all, it was just a dream. he wanted to go to your apartment right then, in the middle of the night, to see for himself. to see that you were peacefully asleep in your bed with Pepper curled at your feet.
later that morning, when Erwin met you at the bakery, you could tell he was tired. you sat with him as he ate one of the giant chocolate muffins you had made. "you look sleepy."
"i didn't sleep well last night."
"is something on your mind?", you asked.
"there's a reunion of sorts coming up, for former members of the scout regimen. it's going to be at the banquet hall next month. former scouts living on other islands have been invited as well, so i suspect it is going to be a big deal and i should make an appearance. i'd like for you to go with me." you looked up at Erwin, your mouth slightly open in surprise. "will you? i'll take you to buy a gown next week."
you shook your head. "yes, i'll go. but there's no need for you to buy a dress for me. i'm sure i have something to wear..."
"but I want to.", he smiled softly.
"okay, then... i guess it's a date."
Erwin smiled, showing you his perfect teeth. "thank you. we can go to the boutiques next monday when you're off. i'm going to have my suit tailored to be a little more one-armed man friendly."
you giggled at him. "that's what you were losing sleep over?"

characters: albedo, you
wc & genre: 1.4k ops & modern au of sorts
a/n: hi hey hii so i've been pestering aqua (@pen-observing) with a genshin mafia au since forever n its like a plan of ours going on?? so it was gonna b one big thing with routes for various characters in the sense of romance, and maybe some 'extras' to follow... this was supposedly be an extra for albedo,, i got ahead of myself
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Albedo is watching from afar, as he always does.
A man of logic and science, he watches with a keen eye at all times.
He observes, examines and when the time comes, he builds a hypothesis, only to test it out and follow a course of actions according to the results he receives.
Respected by many in Ordo Favonius, though more rumors and assumptions arise at any place he sets foot, Albedo is nothing if not careful and deducting.
Eyes fixated, he watches once again, turquoise eyes now trained on you.
To talk of or define your relationship with Albedo would be a rather tricky one.
Long past the “hello – hello” basis and few conversations here and there, be on foot or not, occur when needed. But that’s all there is to it: when needed.
Not that either of you seem to mind it; to some, it’s even a story of success that the blond doesn’t ignore or scoff at your presence before him.
And right now, Albedo is watching as you and Sucrose talk by the corner of the main hall. At one thing you say, she lets out a loud and cheery laugh, one not everyone gets to hear personally, (he would know, as he is one of the few lucky ones) and sees the way she looks at you.
Albedo wonders quite often what’s it like to feel.
He sees the way Kaeya and Sucrose look at you and wonders how they feel as they do so, how you must feel. Surely, you must’ve noticed the looks, as you return them in your own way too. Maybe, except for the times Sucrose longingly stares at you from the laboratory, as you converse with someone else on the other side of the room, unaware of the world going around you.
Albedo cannot help but wonder if there was ever a way he could possibly harbor those feelings his friends did, even just for a moment. Not necessarily on the same intensity, and definitely not necessarily toward you.
He thinks back to the night when Sucrose had too much to drink and talked about her university days; filled with joy, a hidden love somewhere and a grief that follows afterwards –as well as a hint of anger directed toward a third party, which piqued Albedo’s interest a little bit.
And though Albedo is bothered at how you appeared out of nowhere only to set your roots in deeper, your existence fits into the empty slots of the puzzle that was Sucrose’s, presented before him that night. The hicks, shaking hands, fists and the sudden change in her voice, hazy eyes staring at nowhere as if reliving a memory long gone. More spirited than ever; with such strong emotions carried in her chest and on her shoulders.
When it comes to Sucrose and you, the pieces fit into place. But for the rest, it only falls deeper in the light of day.
And it’s quite intriguing; how you first entered with a whim, only to display a sense of familiarity you shouldn’t be carrying, no, not when you’re new to all of these, to the people of Mond as of today, to Kaeya’s little side project Albedo prefers not to think about.
Your explanations to these only make way for more questions, even if you don’t mean so.
When Albedo observes Kaeya and you, he can see how his advances stand out more. Flirty banter back and forth, he never holds back his gaze. In his star kissed eye, Albedo can see hints and tints of some emotions, for you and only you.
It’s the way they look at you that makes Albedo grow more and more curious.
To Albedo, the phrase “love makes you blind” has never meant anything. He has seen and heard of people claiming to fall victim of it, that’s as far as his knowledge goes. Albedo has never experienced it himself, no. Yet in their eyes, he sees the truth to the saying.
Some days, when he thinks on it, he fears he will never have the bare necessities to experience it.
However Albedo knows better, as he doesn’t need to experience such emotions to see how blinding you can be.
And for this very exact reasoning, he doesn’t allow himself to be, for he’d be damned if his blindness, even for a blink of time, caused despair upon those dear to him.
And so Albedo keeps watching, not with a devotion like Sucrose’s or something more carnal like Kaeya’s.
He is on the watch, noting and analyzing even the tiniest speck of dust that shall land on your body. As a man of science and logic, it’s only expected of Albedo to be skeptical of things, and wary of you, the newest entry to the equation that surrounds him.
The state of research carries until all of his gathering shatters with a single presence that makes his way into the precinct.
It doesn’t take him long to connect the dots; though the way you’ve frozen up as Sucrose is running around in a frenzy, split on what to do, is more than telling that the balance has been meddled with.
Reaching out a hand on your shoulder, he meets your gaze with a nod and tilts his head toward the direction of his laboratory. Sucrose follows right after, trying to tidy up a bit and making place for you to sit. Turning the lock with a click, Albedo shuts the whole world outside. Yet he manages to catch a glimpse of the man entering.
Baizhu’s name has spread far and wide, known for all kinds of things, though Albedo knows about the shadier side of his business, –all thanks to Kaeya’s little secret project going.
Still, it begs the question how or why you’d be associated with a man such as him, and to end up badly on your end, clear from the way your brain and body reacted.
Just as Albedo assumed he has started finding the answers to his questions regarding you, you bring him a handful more, a new challenge.
He shrugs off the thought for the time being and makes way to you; who is still standing up, eyes fixated on the blurry green.
Placing a hand on your arm this time, he guides you to the spot Sucrose cleaned out already. Slow steps, one at a time, it’s hard to beat the rigidity of the body so quickly.
Sucrose’s concerned gaze heavy on you, yet your eyes seem blank, your expression says you’re out of it, out of this reality.
Helping you sit and leaving Sucrose to settle right beside you, Albedo walks back, closer to the door and leans against one of the counters, arms crossed. For the time being, for your sake, he’ll put aside the theories and the questions that are filling his brain.
By the time Baizhu has left, you’ve come back to your senses; although still acting rather cautious, you’re not disassociating.
Yet what captures Albedo’s attention the most is the look you give him.
Not like the ones you’ve offered Sucrose or Kaeya, or the irritating ginger who won’t stop sticking his nose into everything he sees.
This one you are offering outshines others in more ways than one. Even if it carries a hint of love, Albedo doubts he could recognize it, but he spots emotions of equal value, and gratitude.
For offering the laboratory as a sanctuary or for refraining from asking the questions about a time you’re trying your best to avoid and move one, he is not sure. Maybe it’s this mutual understanding and shared silence the two of you have held since the beginning.
Yet he can’t help but feel content all the same. And before he can notice, a smile creeps up to his face. Though it’s often loving gazes shared between others that catch his eye, only to make him yearn for such experiences and a chance to feel complete; the one you are carrying, for him, feels heavy on him, a feeling in his chest spreading.
Not sure what, exactly.
Even so, he doesn’t need a name to appreciate this rare opportunity, one not even Sucrose or Kaeya had seemed to live.
Albedo has never understood the phrase “Love makes you blind.”
Yet in that moment, he decides he wouldn’t mind going blind if it is your light that’ll caress his eyes.

Chapter 1 Chapter 2
Tumblr media
Chris Pov
My Apartment was silent as usual, empty like always when I arrived home from work, throwing my coat and bag on to the sofa and slumping down next to them.
I couldn't stand the silence, it taunted me and brought back memories I'd rather not remember. I'd thought about getting a roommate but still hadn't gotten around to posting out an ad, the idea made me nervous. Although I hated being alone, living with a stranger would be even worse. I turned on the TV to fill the expanse of the large empty room that I'd work so hard for but ultimately meant absolutely nothing to me.
My mind began to wander back to this morning and the chance meeting with the most beautiful woman I'd ever laid eyes on. She'd taken my breath away and made me so nervous that I'd used some cheesy chat up line. I'd known at the time it would come back to haunt me tonight, no wonder she ran out of there as soon as she could. Thats why I hesitated, my hand brushed against the small of her back when I was about to ask her for her number and it took away my sensibility. I leaned in like I was about to kiss her, thank god I stopped myself though, how ridiculous would that have been?
I'd spoke to her for no more than ten minutes but somehow felt like I'd known her all my life. Asking for her number wouldn't have been the most unusual thing but she was in such a rush and I didn't want to make her late. There's absolutely nothing more I hate than tardiness.
I still couldn't get her off of my mind, she was beautiful, long dark hair that flowed down her back and the most piercing green eyes I'd ever seen. I couldn't stop looking into them, framed by dark eyelashes that made the emerald green pop even more. It's been a long time since I'd met a woman that made me feel as nervous as she did. The only thing is, she was young, much younger than me and I'd be fooling myself to think I'd actually stand a chance with her. Even if by some miracle I did, she deserved more than what I could give her, I was a mess, even after all this time I was still living in the past.
**********
I woke up feeling like a teenage boy again, a tent of my erection in the cotton sheets sprawled across my middle. I'd dreamt about the girl all night and honestly nothing about it was innocent. I rubbed at my eyes and stretched my muscles before finally getting out of bed, I had my first Junior Comms class to teach today and of course, I couldn't be late.
To say I was dreading today would be an understatement, I'd made a deal with the Dean to teach the Comms class because none of the other professors were willing and I was desperate for a job. I was hoping that if I exceeded expectations during my first semester I would finally get to teach psychology like I'd planned in the first place. Of course that meant being on my best behaviour and a lot of arse kissing, which I would do, albeit reluctantly.
The air was crisp this morning as I set off walking towards the university, luckily for me I didn't live to far away from the campus and the walk would help distract my thoughts because God knows they needed distracting. They always did.
Before I knew it, I'd arrived at the halls, looking up at the architecture of the building and realising my idea to walk obviously hadn't worked. I'd barely paid attention the entire time and it was only muscle memory that had gotten me to my required destination.
I held onto the door handle of the lecture hall and took a deep breath before stepping in, the room erupting into wolf whistles was not what I expected but admittedly better than what I was thinking. I scanned the room and my students, rolling my eyes at the girls lining the front row, their eager faces taking me in.
The class was full of typical students, the usual cliques you see at every educational institution. The jocks and cheerleaders, the nerds and oh fuck. The air was almost knocked from my lungs when I spotted her sat at the back of class. The girl I'd been talking to in the coffee shop yesterday, the girl that had been on my mind and in my dreams ever since. She was here, right in front of me which meant she was my student and younger than I'd actually thought. Fuck.
Even though she was now out of bounds I couldn't take my goddamn eyes off of her, the way her wavy hair cascaded over her shoulders. I could feel my cock tingling when my eyes fell to her low cut top and that unreal cleavage. I pulled my eyes away from her so as not to draw attention and focused on preparing for the lesson, leaving the students to whisper for a while longer while I recovered my composure.
Like a magnet, my eyes unwillingly kept finding their way back to her and she looked uncomfortable, squirming in her seat. I was making her uncomfortable and I still couldn't stop myself, I frowned as I subtly watched her cheeks blush and realised she's probably embarrassed because she'd been flirting with her Professor. Of course she'd be embarrassed, I was so much older than her but was it wrong that I didn't feel one ounce of awkwardness at the fact I had been flirting with a student?
All I could think about as I watched her tits bounce as she moved In her seat, was burying my face in her cleavage and I knew I had to look away before my dick reacted. The last thing I needed in a class full of students was to be walking around with a fucking erection.
I could stand there and watch her all day but certain students had stopped talking and they were waiting for me to speak and I'd almost forgotten why I was here In the first place. I really needed to get my head in the game, being infatuated with a student would definitely not get me the promotion I was looking for.
I pushed my hands in my tight pockets, hoping to stretch the fabric a little so my semi-hard dick wasn't so apparent, then my eyes were drawn to her again and she was talking to Jake. That pissed me off and I could feel my jaw tensing as I cleared my throat rather forcibly, hoping to get the attention of the whole class at the same time as distracting her from the rather friendly conversation she was having with another guy. A guy her age at that.
"Now I've got your attention, we're going to use our first session to get to know each other a little better. You'll be doing quite a lot of speeches so it's best if you feel comfortable with one another. I'll start by introducing myself." I looked at her again, gulping hard when I saw her with the end of her pen in her mouth and the way her lips wrapped around it. Fuck. "So, I'm Professor Hemsworth and I'm originally from Melbourne in Australia." I looked to her and she smiled, remembering what we spoke about yesterday.
A student started with the typical Australian stereotypes although I'm actually surprised no one told me to throw another shrimp on the Barbie. I laughed along anyway, I'd been expecting it, it's literally the first thing anyone who isn't Australian says when they first meet me. So when I told him it wasn't very original I meant it, I'd heard it a thousand times before and I'll hear it a thousand times again.
I told the class a little about myself before informing them they would do the same, it didn't go down well, the room filled with groans. I looked to her and she looked downright terrified, I sympathized for her, it wasn't easy speaking in front of a room full of people but was the best way to break the ice.
"Claire Abbott." I called, watching the blonde at the front stand, nervously. She giggled and twirled her hair around her finger as she smiled at me, I knew what she was doing. I quickly glanced at the girl from the coffee shop as she rolled her eyes at the blonde at the front, I smirked back at her, amused at her tolerance for predictable girls.
"I erm… I don't know what to say?" The blonde said, looking at me questioningly.
"Just anything about yourself that we might find interesting, the first thing that comes to mind."
"Well I own four horses and I'm the cheer captain." I had to stop myself from laughing when she rolled her eyes again but the smile soon disappeared when I saw Jake lean over to speak to her and the way she laughed at him made my blood boil. I was seething, not because they were speaking instead of listening but because she was speaking to him instead of me.
"You two at the back, we'll wait for you shall we?" I called them out, my voice more stern than I expected. I was pissed off that Jake would easily be able to get to know her and I couldn't. She stared at me, her eyes wide, she was surprised I'd called them out in front of everyone which made me even more pissed off because that probably blew my chances even more. What the hell am I thinking? What chances, I need to remember I'm her fucking Professor.
She sat silently through the rest of the class, I still couldn't keep my eyes off of her and thankfully neither could she. She looked flustered and I liked it, I liked that I could make her feel that way without even touching her. She was so goddamn hot I could hardly concentrate on what the other students were saying.
When I glanced down at the sheet of names in front of me and saw Jake's name my jaw clenched.
"Jake Hudson." I couldn't help narrowing my eyes as he stood up, I just knew he'd say something cocky and I was so fucking jealous of him right now. I closed my eyes for a second and took a deep breath, I needed to keep my cool, especially in a room full of students and her. If she knew what I was really like she wouldn't look at me the way she did.
"Hi, I'm Jake." I bit onto the inside of my gum, that bit of pain keeping me grounded. "I'm also from Australia." He gave me that fucking cocky half arsed smile I'd been waiting for and the adrenaline shot through me. I was thankful no one noticed apart from maybe the one person in here I didn't want to notice. She was watching me carefully. I had to loosen my tie a little as he continued to speak, I was burning up with rage.
I'm glad class was almost over, I needed a stiff drink and I needed it now. I looked at my sheet of names again and there were only a couple left, I wondered which one was hers. I needed to know her name. Fuck. I needed to know everything about her.
"Jessica Watson." She stood up. Fuck, Jessica, it was a cute name and fit her perfectly. I was mesmerized with her and the way she spoke as she tucked her long hair behind her ears. "These last couple of days have been pretty eventful for me." She looked right at me, what was she going to say? "I'm living the life of a romance novels heroine and I'm excited to see what the next couple of days bring." Oh fuck. Was she talking about meeting me? Or Jake? I like to think by the way she studied me as she spoke, she was talking about me. This was wrong, so wrong but why did it feel so right? I forgot there was anybody else in the room, my cock twinging as I pictured myself fucking her on this desk. I needed to stop thinking like this, it's unprofessional and completely immoral. I shook my head and turned back to the class.
"I hope we all feel a bit more comfortable with each other now, some of you shared some pretty revealing things." I looked at Jessica. "Some of you, not so much." Then raised my eyebrows at a group of guys in the middle of class that had used thier time to inform everyone about the party at their frat house this weekend. "I'll have a schedule for you all next time I see you, anybody that has any questions can see me after class, everyone else is free to leave." I looked at her one last time, hoping she'd use this opportunity to come and speak to me.
I sighed when I sat back at my desk and a group of girls took their opportunity, I wasn't in the mood for it but answered their questions anyway. I didn't take my eyes from Jessica, especially when Jake started speaking to her again. The girls in front of me were taking up my time, trying to flirt with me instead of asking relevant questions and I was over it.
"Do you actually have any questions about the course ladies? I have other things to be getting on with if not." I was a little short with them without actually meaning to be. I just wanted them out of my goddamn way so I could see what was going on with Jessica and Jake.
The girls finally left, more like stormed off but I couldn't care less right now. She was still sat at her desk which means she waited until I was alone which has got to be a good sign. We stared at each other for what felt like an eternity, the silence driving me insane so I cleared my throat and she blinked like I'd woken her from a daydream. What was she thinking about?
She packed up her things into her bag slowly, I could tell she was buying herself time but I felt relaxed now we were alone, in fact I felt excited which was completely ridiculous. I felt like a damn teenager.
"Did you need to talk Miss Watson?" I was amused and I needed to break the ice before the silence got the better of me. I leaned back in my chair and folded my arms across my chest.
"I erm…" She walked towards me, down the stairs, looking at her feet. She was unsteady and looked nervous as hell, was she going to tell me to back off? "I wanted to apologise, I had no idea you were a Professor." She stood at the bottom of the stairs, I was glad she wasn't too close. I don't know if I'd be able to control myself around her and lord knows I had to. The atmosphere was tense, neither of us really knowing what to say or do, all I could think about was ripping off her clothes.
"There's no need to apologise Miss Watson, I also had no idea you were a student but I was hoping to bump into you again. Funny how things work out isn't it?" I cocked my eyebrow at her, testing her, seeing how she would react to my comment. Something changed and she didn't look quite so nervous anymore.
"I think fate can be rather cruel Professor Hemsworth." The way she called me Professor stirred something deep inside me, a hunger I didn't know I had and when she moved closer to me I began to feel nervous.
"Oh really? Why is that Miss Watson?" She was so close now, I could smell her sweet scent of coconut shampoo. I wanted to touch her badly, I didn't though. I didn't dare because I knew if I did I wouldn't be able to stop myself and I must restrain, she's my student after all. It's wrong. It's forbidden.
I still couldn't stop myself from flirting, like an uncontrollable impulse and as soon as I opened my mouth to try and be professional I would just go right ahead and flirt. She was so outrageously attractive but the kind of attractive where she didn't know it and didn't flaunt it, which I found even more endearing.
"I was hoping to bump into you again too, only now the thought of what could've happened will have to remain a fantasy." My restraint was really being tested now, she was teasing me, egging me on and the fact she'd also been fantasising about me made it extra difficult to resist. I had to loosen my tie again, I needed my fingers to be busy so I didn't touch her. I had an internal conflict going on inside my mind and it was like torture, if this was day one of class how the hell was I meant to survive the whole semester?
"I better get to my next class, we can't have anyone thinking I'm your favourite now can we?" Fuck sake. I ground my teeth together, I was glad she was leaving, I couldn't take the tension any longer but at the same time I knew, with distance the desire would only intensify. She turned to leave and I couldn't stop myself watching her hips sway as she walked, her ass was so round and bouncy, it hypnotised me and that's when I knew I was in deep trouble.
