I have really mixed feelings about the small proportion of F/F fiction (original or fanfic), because yeah sure, people have their desires, they should write what they want, I get it. It all works out when I hear it from person to person. But somehow the logic only ever applies in one direction? "There are more male protagonists because men only care about male characters! Women also mostly care about male characters, because that's the majority of characters they get!" And then somehow we also yet kvetch when men write female characters (because it's incorrectly or something, nevermind if women are writing male characters correctly). Why don't we expect gay men to feel compelled only by femslash for the same reasons (but gender swapped) as the lesbian slashers/fujoshi? All of those very rational justifications are applied selectively, "for me for not for thee," and it all only leads to "idk I just don't wanna write femslash", for Reasons. Do we get to call them microaggressions yet?

No, you don't get to call other people's fantasy life a microaggression.

That is indeed "for me but not for thee" in the sense that you get to want what you want but other people aren't supposed to follow their id.

Do you also police gay men who spend too much time on drag and obsessing over female divas? That's an actual real world behavior that's somewhat equivalent. It frequently goes unchallenged, at least by progressives, because men are allowed to do whatever they want with chick stuff, while women are "stealing" if they dare to stray into dude stuff.

(God, I've seen so much more policing of drag kings being ~problematic~ for acting out stereotypical gender than policing of drag queens for the same. It's nuts!)

Fujoshi are often queer, but it's absurd to think we're mostly lesbians. We tend to be bi or asexual women with gender stuff going on, though there is a mix of everybody, including lesbians. There are also a lot of AFAB non-women who get lumped in with us. On the rare occasions I find a man willing to admit to being a similar demographic, he usually does like gender play in his hobbies and entertainment. It's just that men face even more pressure than women do to fit into tidy categories. Bi women get told we're whores. Bi men are told they don't exist.

Yes, I know plenty of lesbians who write more m/m than f/f, but in the big picture of all of AO3 or all of fanfic or all of media, they aren't the demographic driving these numbers. They're vastly outnumbered by the bi women, the asexual women, and the straight and gnc women.

The men we should be looking at as an equivalent aren't cis gay men but bicurious soy boys and the like.

Do most of us fujoshi object to equivalent men doing an equivalent thing? I've seen it sometimes, and I agree it's hypocritical. I'd like us to afford men the same ability to play and take on identities in their art. I remember enjoying Ranma fandom back in the day and reading quite a lot of f/f that was probably by men. It had some of that same sense of distance and fantasy that I so enjoy in m/m aimed at fujoshi. (I do consume some by-cis-gay, for-cis-gay content, both m/m and f/f, but it's often too literal and too bound up in specific named identities for my taste.)

On average, the people I see complaining most about men producing f/f material are the same people who think that because I have a clit, I should center my life around women exclusively. In other words, people spouting radfem ideology, perhaps on purpose or perhaps without realizing.

I do agree that some of the ways of expressing a lack of desire to write femslash can get pretty douchey. I want us to move away from some of the less accurate ones like "There are no compelling female characters" because of this.

But the reason for all these jerkass explanations is that women and people perceived as women who like m/m are constantly asked to explain ourselves. These aren't usually microaggressions: they're openly hostile. People get defensive and try to answer with important-sounding reasons about identity and pain because society at large won't accept "I like this" as the true explanation.

Pleasure is never enough of a reason for a woman to do something.

OKAY OKAY here we goooo an annoyingly long-ish post about all my thoughts on The Sunshine Court

Spoilers Spoilers Spoilersss you've been warned

First things first it is so interesting to see Nora writing from not one but TWO new people's perspective. Jean's perspective is just devastating being inside his head is heartbreaking the constant fear and panic and how much of his energy is used on just pushing down every memory of what was done to him. His coping mechanisms are terrifying and i truly do hope by the end of book 2 he has a healthier way of dealing with it bc baby boy stop hurting yourself :( Every sentence was so painful to read. But also his resilience the entire time to get through it no matter what, god i fucking love him!!! He is a fighter.

Jeremy's perspective is sooooo refreshing. He is such a little sweetheart i could cry. The fact that he sends hand written letters and he's so caring and genuine but he can also be so stern. When he dropped that "i asked you a question" to Lucas fkehdjdfjdh OK SIR. I'M SAT. His relationship with the family butler is so endearing as well i need more background on that for sure! My only one criticism is that he didn't have enough pov chapters and i'm hoping we'll learn more in the second book of course because there's still so much about him and his (dysfunctional? toxic?) family dynamic that we don't know yet but also i'm greedy and i wanna know EVEYTHING about him !!!

Kevin and Jean are so just tragic it actually breaks my fucking heart like "you didn't have to slit my throat on the way out" JEAN??? and "promise me you won't try again. I can't lose you." KEVIN??? And the fact that Jean to this day is still keeping that promise. Also Jean's obvious but secret long term crush on Kevin the way it's subtly dropped every time Jean has to stamp down on his desire's and "temptations" GOD PLEASE I CAN'T STAND IT

SPEAKING OF!!! BISEXUAL JEAN ??? BI JEAN??? BI JEANNNN !!!!

Neil and Jean oh my God like where do i even start?? The guilt Jean feels at what happened to Neil in the Nest and him finally calling him by his name after Riko's death and telling him his game was good. And Neil seriously needs to give himself more credit for how much of a caring person he is because the way he indirectly told Jean that he thinks he is worth saving and didn't even hesitate before asking Stuart to send someone after That Guy after what Jean told him. Neil Josten the man that you are!!!

Jean's little sister Elodie what a beautiful name. Them being so close and him reading to her. The way he found out about her death jolted me differently. It was so awful and i'm so sorry Jean didn't get to see her grow up and meet her again.

Renee and Jean oh my god. Jean thinking she's beautiful (bitch me toooo) And the whole right person wrong time ugh i can't stand it. Him wearing her necklace all the time, enough that Jeremy always notices it. And unabashedly stealing her picture from the foxes lounge. Like he did not give a fuck. He said this one is mine. One good reason to stay alive being rainbows i'm gonna FKSJSKDHDH. Theirs would be such a soft love.

Speaking of soft loves Laila and Cat are EVERYTHINGGGG. God they are so cute with their little domestic life and their rich gay boy son who crashes on their couch with his cardboard cut out dog. That whole friendship dynamic is beautiful. Their fierce protectiveness and care over Jean as well and the patience they have with him even after the little kitchen incident. When Cat took Jean out for a drive on her motorcycle god that was such a heart warming moment and Jean helping them cook as well and becoming the girls' little sous chef it's so cute so endearing !!!

FINALLY FINALLY THE JEREJEAN DYNAMIC

PLEASE I'M GONNA SCREAM

Jeremy being the one who told Jean that Riko was dead i don't even know what to begin with THAT like hhhhhhh. The way they're both stupidly attracted to each other but won't/can't do anything about it. THE WHOLE "say yes Jeremy" SCENE WTF WAS THATTT I WAS GOING INSANEEEE. Both of them having to stop mid sentence when they catch the other looking FINE as hell. Jean being so obvious that even Lucas picks up on the way he looks at Jeremy. Jeremy being there to ground Jean in a Moment and helping him come down from it. Grabbing his face and telling him he's okay. Moving into the room with him to make him feel more comfortable !! The way Jean grabs Jeremy's chin (boiiiii). Jeremy constantly reminding Jean that he is NOT A RAVEN ANYMORE no matter how many times he has to say it. Jeremy saying he'll wait as long as it takes until Jean speaks to him. JEREMY GIVING HIM A HUG AND JEAN CLUTCHING DESPERATELY TO HIS SHIRT FUUCUFHDHSJHSSUHDH and then the "will you help me?" And the "Anything you need" AND THEY'RE GOING TO TAKE A CERAMICS CLASS TOGETHER?!?!?!!!! i can't i can't i can't i caaan'ttt

There's so much more to say but i'm gonna leave it at this for now because i need to go re-read it again and take my time with it this time round but i really could not have asked for anything better Nora truly outdid herself here !!! I'm forever grateful she blessed us with this after so long.

Compulsory Heterosexuality Info Dump

So because a friend of mine didn't know what comp het was and their internet history is monitored by their parents so they can't just use google, I'm doing a very quick research dive and giving you guys the results in case there are others out there who are in the same situation. I'll also be tagging blogs bigger than me because again, there might be fellow queers out their who are in the same boat as my friend and I want them to have access to this information.

So what is compulsory heterosexuality (or comp het)?

Comp het is in essence the societal belief and enforcement of being straight.

What does this mean?

In basic form it means that the only options presented to everyone, from the moment of birth, is that of a cis, amatonormative, heterosexual lifestyle.

You are given two gender options, these gender options determine the two roles you're allowed to fulfill, husband and wife, and you are told that these two roles are what will make you happy and are what you are supposed to strive for.

Meaning society, if you are born AFAB, tells you you're going to one day get married, it's going to be a boy, and this is what will make you happy. Almost everything in life is then seen through this lens. How attractive your are, how you are supposed to talk, how you're supposed to behave, etc is all considered through the lens of if a man will be attracted to you.

On the flip side, if you are born AMAB society tells you there are roles you have to fulfill as well. You are told you will one day want a wife, that you have to be able to have a job to provide for her, that you have to behave in a certain emotional way to be strong for her, that if the things you like are too feminine well then you're gay or a girl which is a problem because at the end of the day you're supposed to want the girl-fiance-wife.

This literally just sounds like the patriarchy.

Yes, it does, because it's caused by it. Nowadays people commonly know about compulsory heterosexuality from the Lesbian Masterdoc, but the term actually originated by Adrienne Rich in 1980.

Adrienne Rich in her article Compulsory Heterosexuality and Lesbian Existence put forward three ideas, 1) that heterosexuality and lesbianism were institutions themselves/possible political ideologies, 2) that heterosexuality as a system if not constantly maintained and upheld would eventually crumble and 3) that heterosexuality as a system could be opted out of and actively fought against whether or not you were actually attracted to women/non-women.

This is very different from the way we currently think of and define those terms, I am aware of that, but her point does still stand to some degrees that comp het, cisnormativity and amatonormativity all crumble when we stop rigidly enforcing the structures that uphold them, i.e., the patriarchy, misogyny, classism, and racism.

Ok but like what does that actually look like?

It can look like a lot of things, for a lot of different people. In the Lesbian Masterdoc you see comp het presented from a straightforward lesbian lens (of a 19 year old figuring out and defining their own sexuality guys, I'm not gonna sit here and critique it and rip it to death, go do that somewhere else).

This is therefore presented through things like women/non-women who were raised/socialized as women possibly having crushes on men, but they're always unattainable in some way (celebrities, fictional, someone real but they wouldn't actually ever be able to truly be in a relationship with, etc). It might also show up for lesbians as liking the idea of a man but being uncomfortable when one actually wants to move forward in the process. Or even sometimes it might show up as sexual fantasies with men but they're faceless, they're more an idea, or you're actually viewing another woman sleeping with him.

This presentation of comp het has made a lot of bi/pan/mspec people uncomfortable because they feel they too have experiencing comp het and when reading the Lesbian Masterdoc it's presented as if experiencing this is a straight shot towards being a lesbian.

And they're right that comp het isn't experienced by just lesbians. For mspecs who present feminine/as women this could be in the feeling that they have to dress a certain way to be presentable, but presentable is based on appealing to men. This can mean something as simple as women are expected to wear makeup, always, regardless of if they're looking to seek men's attention or not, because that's the base standard.

For mspecs who present masculine this can look like the inability to express themselves in an overly emotional manner because that doesn't make them "strong" and if they're not "strong" then they won't attract women, and that's what they're supposed to be doing.

For mspecs in general that can look like their queer looking relationships to be seen as a phase even if their mspec-ness is respected because of course they're eventually going to get married to a man/woman.

This can affect polyamorous cishet people in that they're seen as doing heterosexuality wrong because you're supposed to have the one partner and the 2.5 kids.

This can affect aspecs because they're told they'll never truly feel fulfilled if they don't have that boyfriend/girlfriend/partner to love them in a way that's so special nothing else could match up.

This affects all of us guys is my point.

How is this helpful to me?

Well for sapphics and lesbians (or sapphics/mspecs confused on if they are actually lesbians) this can be a helpful concept to consider because it can help you determine what relationships you truly want to pursue, which is the main point I feel is to be gained from the Lesbian Masterdoc. As she's put it "it's way more important to ask yourself if you can be truthfully happy with a man than if you’re attracted to them"

So if you're a sapphic who experiences attraction to men but you honestly can't ever see yourself willingly entering into a relationship with them, consider the idea of comp het.

If you're Achillean the opposite of this can be true, if you've been attracted to women before but honestly can't ever see yourself willingly entering into a relationship with them, consider whether comp het is working on you.

For mspecs this can be a helpful term to throw over the table back at your parents when they ask when you're going to get a "real relationship".

This can be a helpful term to consider when asking "am I forcing myself to wear mascara because I feel this is the only way I look presentable or do I actually like mascara."

Or it can be a helpful concept to look back on when undermining our internalized ideals of misogyny, towards ourselves and others.

This is a helpful term to put in our tool boxes to talk about the harm the systems of patriarchy, classism, and racism impose upon us.

Comp het can help us to understand why so many people look down on polyamory as a legitimate way of life.

It can be a helpful term for aspecs who are trying to figure out if they really want to date/have sex, or if they just believe these are the only things that will make you happy.

In general

Compulsory heterosexuality is just another term to describe a system we are all intimately familiar with. But by giving us the words to describe our experiences, it gives us the power to communicate those experiences more effectively, and to possibly understand why we're experiencing them.

This is just a bare basic knowledge post.

Honestly if you have the ability to, as in your internet history is not monitored in the way my friend's is, I encourage you to go on the deep dive through the sources listed below. Many of them are honestly only 30 pages long, that's a relatively short read, and understanding queer theory like this not only helps you to understand your own identity, but the ways in which you are connected to the rest of the fellow queer community.

AITA for not changing my OCs backstory?

Saw some recent posts about people fighting over RP characters so I thought I'd throw mine in.

I (F25) am in a RP server for peoples OCs. It's a small server for friends or friends-of-friends so everyone is either a friend or an aquaintence.

There's a channel specifically for people to post their OCs to see if anyone wants to RP with them. The posts are basically references with the characters name, appearance, backstory, etc. and a list of things the person wants to RP with them (smut, angst, medieval, coffee shop, roomates, etc.)

Anyways, I started RPing with two other people, Amy (F23) and Jenny (F25) recently and things were going good. We were doing a modern with magic type RP and all of our OCs met each other at a bar.

Eventually as the RP progressed my OC revealed that she thought she was a lesbian and then realized she was bi (they were all sitting at a table together commenting on other people in the bar and who they thought was cute).

Amy suddenly stopped responding to the RP so it was just me and Jenny, and I just figured that Amy was busy with college stuff so I didn't want to bug her about responding.

A few days later I get a DM from Jenny saying that Amy is REALLY uncomfortable with my OCs backstory. I'm of course confused and ask her why Amy didn't just message me. She told me Amy was really upset and didn't want to talk about it. I say "If she doesn't want to talk about it why is she telling you to tell me? If she has a problem she needs to tell me so I can fix it."

About 20 minutes later I get a message from Amy with a list of problems she has with my OC. The list said:

My OC is lesbophobic.

Your OC is saying that being lesbian is a phase (not at all what my OC's dialogue said during the scene, the word "phase" was never once used).

There's not enough lesbian rep in things and you're taking away even more.

You're replacing actual lesbian rep with an inferior straight character (yes, she used the word inferior).

She basically demanded that I change her backstory and make her a lesbian again, or AT LEAST make sure she ends up in a relationship with another woman.

I was pissed.

I replied back and said:

"Please go back and highlight the dialogue line where my OC stated that being a lesbian was a phase, because I searched the word "phase" in our channel and I couldn't find it. That word wasn't even used once during our RP, by any of us.

Also, there's nothing wrong with something being a "phase". People don't get one chance to pick a sexuality or gender and then get stuck with it for the rest of their life. Sometimes it takes people a while to figure themselves out. Sometimes things change.

My OCs sexuality is literally based on my own personal experiences. I thought I was straight, and then I thought I was a lesbian, and now I realize that I'm actually bi. I'm not lesbophobic for changing my mind, that's not what that word means.

If you want more lesbien rep then go make more lesbian characters. I'm not "taking away rep" because it was never there in the first place, and again, my OC is based on my OWN EXPERIENCES, and I as a person do not exist to provide representation. Why is lesbian rep more important than bi rep? I can name multiple, canon lesbian characters but I can only think of one character that canonically likes men and women.

I'm not replacing lesbian relationships with a straight relationship because even if she dated a man she would still be bi, not straight. It's fucking disgusting that you think a relationship or person is "inferior" because they're not the sexuality you want them to be. She's based on me, do you think I'm inferior for something completely out of my control?

I'm not changing shit about her backstory, especially not to coddle the feelings of biphobes."

She responded with a huge rant that I'm not going to post here but the TLDR is "You're lesbophobic and you hate lesbians and you're awful and dangerous and you don't care about good rep fuck you." and then blocked me.

I told Jenny what Amy had said and she said "Idk, it's not really a big deal to change it? It was a small part of her story and it made Amy uncomfortable :/"

So AITA for not changing it?

It IS a small, insignificant part of her story that wouldn't change anything if I removed it but for me it's the principle: I'm tired of bisexual characters (and people!) being treated as lesser or not as good as "real" LGBT+ people/relationships.

Also I'm planning on making comics with my OCs and I make sure that there's at least a few lesbian, gay, trans, etc. characters in each story so that EVERYONE gets rep. Which matters way more to me than "rep" that only like 15 people in a discord server will see.

It’s 5am but I’m avoiding sleep cause sleep paralysis been kicking my ass recently so here we are. I didn’t know if you were imagining a certain age or how detailed you wanted it so they’re all at different ages

Bi-Han

Bi-Han doesn't have that much experience when it comes to dating even if he's the oldest brother

Growing up he was taught to mainly focus on his clan since he'd be the next Grandmaster so naturally dating is something that was at the back of his mind

When he got his first girlfriend he'd probably be older. So he's mature when it comes to handling himself but he's not mature when it comes to romantic relationships

I think the first week would be the hardest because he's both nonchalant but also worried if that makes sense

Nonchalant because he doesn't physically show any emotion besides disdain but also worry because whenever he hears about new relationships, people are always so giddy. They're glowing. They're jumping up and down and are cuddled next to their partner all the time.

Bi-Han though? He doesn't do any of that. He's not sure what he should do and since he doesn't know, it makes him worry that maybe he made the wrong choice. Maybe he took the bit of affection you gave him and ran with it and it went outta hand

After that first week though, he still wants to be with and around you so he starts to relax and realize he just reacts differently to things

Some things he would struggle with since this is his first relationship. He'd struggle with the idea of being around his partner so often. Does he enjoy your presence? Yeah. But he also wants a lot of alone time

Idk how long his first relationship would last. He gives me both “we're in this forever” and “forever isn't realistic” vibes.

I honestly don't think he'd change much, which probably has a lot to do with the fact that he's a grown man. He's past all the intense teenage emotions.

I don't even think his partner would notice a difference tbh. He trails behind you more but besides that, he still acts like your friend Bi-Han which isn't necessarily a bad thing

Because it's his first relationship, I don't see him initiating things like physical touch that much. I think his partner would have to either ask or hint at it

Cutsey things just don't come naturally to him.

Is he happy about his first relationship? Absolutely. He just doesn't see the big deal with certain things like hand holding or other romantic expectations. Honestly I can see that being the cause of his first relationship ending depending on who it is but if it's someone that's on the same wavelength or understands lack of affection doesn't mean lack of love then I could see it lasting forever.

Kuai Liang

Kuai Liang was probably the first to start dating

Does he have responsibilities? Yes. But that wouldn't stop him from experiencing certain things, even if he had to do it sneakily.

He was a young teenager when he finally got his first girlfriend. She was apart of a nearby clan and although he was told many times not to focus on women, he couldn't help it.

It was a simple friendship but it turned into something more. A secret relationship no one could know about

I think Kuai Liang would be happy to finally have a girlfriend. It's something else in his life that gives him happiness besides his family.

Also this is a teenager so he's geeked as fuck. He tries to appear all calm and cool but it wouldn't really work

Would always try to sneak away to see her. He wants to spend as much time with her as he can. Half of it is because he's a teenager, half of it is because he genuinely likes her.

I also think he likes exchanging gifts. It gave them both something to remember the other bye

As a young boy, he wants to tell everyone but because of circumstances, he can’t. Besides that though I just honestly think he’s happy waking up everyday knowing he’ll see her even if it’s only for a few minutes.

She was a break for him. He's always the mediator between Bi-Han and Tomas. He always had to train hard so he could assist Bi-Han when he became grandmaster. When he was with her he was relaxed.

Enjoys the company that comes with having a partner, even if a lot of the times he's too busy to see her

He knows he doesn’t know much about relationships, but that’s ok. Life’s a journey and he’s willing to learn and communicate for this girl

Considering it says “first relationship”, that means it doesn't last

I think the reason would be they eventually get caught. His dad has a tighter leash on him and she's sent to a different area her clan occupies

He wouldn't take this well but there's really nothing he can do

Takes him awhile to get over even if it was some silly teenage romance according to others.

Tomas Vrbada

Tomas gets into his first relationship in his late teens to early twenties

I can see him telling Kuai Liang immediately and asking for advice

I can see it being a friends to lovers kind of thing. She's an earthrealmer in the know about all the realms and stuff and knows Madam Bo. Tomas is easy to like so they become friends then he asks her out on accident

Tomas, like Kuai Liang, would be happy to have a significant other. He'd like having a girlfriend because this is his person. He became a Lin Kuei because the grandmaster felt shame about his clan murdering Tomas’ family. To Tomas, that's not him actually wanting him. It's guilt

Having a girlfriend though means she's with him because she loves him. She actually likes him and chose him.

Very proud boyfriend. He’s surprised he has someone to call his and thinks she’s everything

He's younger so he's not really confident which I think would show. He constantly wants to be around her out of insecurity. He's worried that she'd leave and find someone else

He thinks he’s not good enough for anything

Can we blame him? He has Bi-Han constantly making him feel shitty. Sure he’s not the only reason Tomas is insecure but he’s not helping

He's also paranoid about anyone else he loves being hurt. People get hurt, he understands that but he cannot say goodbye to someone else prematurely. Especially someone that makes him so happy

Since it's his first relationship, he doesn't know how to properly communicate these feelings

He genuinely likes this person and wants to be something serious. The problem is all this hovering and worry could cause problems in the relationship and lead to it ending.

His solution would be trying to change himself

Letting go is not something he wants to do. This person makes him happy so why should he? He could definitely change and do better.

And since this is his first relationship, he’s nervous something like this won’t happen again.

Unfortunately for him you can’t get rid of insecurities easily and you have to love yourself before loving anyone else

You'd expect him to have the longest lasting relationship but he probably wouldn't. The relationship wouldn't end with harsh feelings but he'd still be upset by it and it'd encourage him to work on himself

I promise you Kuai Liang is my favorite brother. Idk how Bi-Han got around 440 words and him and Tomas got around 380- I also plan on writing angst after I eventually go to sleep so tune in

Turqouise Hearts (Tomco Oneshot)

Mewberty is an experience that mewman magic users under the age of 16 go through, usually coming a few months after the first spell.

The person who is affected by Mewberty will shed colorful hearts, turn into a faye-fairy-butterfly mix form, gain sticky web-like substances in the palm of their hand, which can be used like a spider web, and become obsessed with people they are even mildly romantically attracted to. But with people they are already heavily attracted to, feelings will enhance dramatically, making it dangerous to see people going through this stage of life.

Mewberty usually only lasts a few hours, and from it, comes Mewberty wings.

Well, when Marco Diaz was standing in front of the bathroom mirror, holding the turquoise heart that had just fallen off of his forehead, the first statement was proven wrong.

Marco was not a mewman. But he had used one spell in the past few months. The All Seeing Eye, Eclipsa's spell, which was one of Star's favorites.

"Star!" Marco called from the bathroom. He knew Star, Tom, and Janna were downstairs watching a movie. He had been there too before going to the bathroom, where the turquoise heart in his hand had fallen off his forehead as he washed his hands.

"What?" Star responded from downstairs.

"Get up here!"

There was a sound of footsteps running up the stairs before Star entered the open door, Janna and Tom behind her, to see Marco looking down at his hand.

"What do you need?"

Marco held up the heart in his hand. "Um, this fell off my head."

Star's eyes widened, and she took the heart into her hands. "Oh. Oh no," she said, feeling the tissue-paper-like heart in her hand. "It's a Mewberty heart."

"Wait, Marco used magic? He's a mewman?" Tom asks through the doorway.

"Yes and no, I think I've said multiple times I am a human," Marco replies. "Okay, so, Mewberty, as in, crazy purple Star kidnapping multiple boys at school Mewberty?"

"Yeah," Star says. "I didn't know humans could get it, but them and mewmans are very similar so I guess it's possible. But that also means me and Janna gotta scram, you wouldn't mind staying, right Tom?"

"Um, yeah I can do that, I guess."

"Alright! You know Marco, you're gonna go girl-crazy and stuff. Bye!"

Marco waved as more hearts started falling from his face.

"Call us when it's over!" Star says before slamming the door.

"So, Tom, care to fill me in a bit? All I know is from when Star got it at school."

"Basically it prepares you for intense magic, even if you only use magic once," Tom says. "The Mewberty wings are like, butterfly transformation thing that Star does."

"Yeah but like, do I need to do anything?" Marco asks, trying to catch all the hearts falling from his face so he doesn't have to clean up as much later.

"I guess I just have to keep you away from girls and make sure you don't leave the house, your parents won't be home anytime soon, right?"

"No, they're having a couple days vacation."

"Okay," Tom says.

"For safe measures, I'm gonna go lock myself in my room so it'll take a bit more work to get out," Marco says, hearts starting to fall uncontrollably as he runs down the hallway to his room. He locks the door and looks around his room.

I wonder if being bi will affect it. And maybe having a crush on Tom? Star's bi and it didn't seem to affect her. And Star acted a bit more crazy with Oskar. Oh hell, that'll be a way to come out, locking Tom in a corner or something.

Marco thought that last part as a joke. Hopefully he wouldn't end up doing something like that. Tom didn't know. Marco's parents knew, but that was it.

He knew his friends weren't homophobic, Star had told them she was bi and Jackie was pan. But Marco was a perfectionist, and could never figure out how to tell them in the best way.

To pass a bit of time, waiting on his inevitable crazy butterfly form that Star had, he went through some pictures he'd saved on his phone.

Star had been a lot more freaked out about Mewberty than Marco was. But she had been in school, and Marco was in the safety of his house.

Suddenly he landed on a picture of him and Tom. Fuck.

Tom had his arm around Marco's shoulder, they were smiling, holding ice cream. Star was the one to take that picture, he remembered, because she wanted a picture of her Earth bestie and Underworld bestie. She'd then sent it to them both.

Then Marco couldn't see through all the turquoise rain.

His hands started feeling soft, and he dropped his phone.

Of course. On Tom's picture.

Tom was the only other person in the house. He could hear him humming on the other side of the door. He was probably doing that weird stretch thing Star hated so much too.

He felt something in his stomach. Looking down, he realized his hoodie and jeans turned turquoise, matching his now turquoise skin and hair. Just like how Star's clothes had changed.

And he felt his sides stretch, as if he were growing something out of it.

And then he fell out of control.

On the other side of the door, Tom finished his stretching. He was about to go back on his mirror when he heard pounding on the door.

Looks like it's started.

No big deal. It wasn't Tom's business until Marco managed to get out of his room.

Then he would just have to stop him from getting anywhere else.

He did not care if Marco would just fly past him and search for someone else.

He did not care that Marco wouldn't pay attention when he came out of that room.

Oh, who was he kidding? Of course he cared that Mewberty Marco would pay him no mind. Tom wanted Marco to like him. He really wanted Marco to like him.

"Hey Marco, calm down in there, you're not going anywhere," Tom said through the door, but the pounding only got louder.

And then the door, just floating there, was forced open by a turquoise version of Marco.

He had four arms, the hoodie was gone, a plain t-shirt under. His skin had faint hearts dotted every here and there, and eyes a very light version of his skin. And oh god, the wings. Big, diamond shaped, turquoise with his new eye color in the center of the wings.

And something about him looked so pretty in that moment. Tom was stunned.

Marco grabbed him by the horns and face, floating a little closer to him.

Then reality set back on Tom. Marco didn't fly past him, to his surprise. In fact, Marco was very, very focused on him.

And that made Tom blush like crazy, because, well, it was Mewberty, and during Mewberty, all you focus on are people you're interested in, even if it's just a bit.

Tom knew Marco didn't mean it, Marco didn't like him. But it meant Tom had a chance for him to like him, because if Marco was focused on a boy, that meant he liked boys. That was new.

And suddenly Marco was closing in on him, fluttering down to the ground, hands now moved to Tom's face and neck.

And Tom did the only logical thing one would do when your best friend going through Mewberty tries to kiss you- push him off.

But Marco was persistent. Shoving Tom into a corner, he used his web hands to trap him there.

"Marco! Let me out!" Tom shouted, knowing it would do nothing, and tried pushing through the sticky stuff.

Marco smiled, looking down on him.

Then he flew away.

Tom clenched his fists and tried not to blow up. Ugh, that stupid butterfly thing! He was way too smart, making Tom all flustered so he wouldn't think just so he could shove him in a corner and try and get out.

Tom was outsmarted by someone going through Mewberty. Wow, that's a new low.

He decided to burn the sticky stuff and ran downstairs to make sure he hadn't left yet. And thankfully, Marco was still tugging on a locked sliding door.

Ha, stupid.

Tom pulled him off the door. Marco turned to the boy and was fascinated by him again, feeling all over his face and horns.

"Get off me!" Tom said, lightly pushing him.

But Marco didn't listen, and flew lightly off the ground so he was at Tom's height.

"No, no you don't!" Tom shouted, giving Marco a harder shove, and with quick thinking, grabbed two plastic grocery bags off the table and tied them around Marco's hands. "Can't trap me in a corner anymore, loser. We're getting you back to your room."

Tom dragged the resisting Marco up the stairs and shoved him in his room, pressing the lock before closing it and leaning on it, keeping Marco in.

There's pounds on the door again, Tom rolling his eyes at the useless effort.

"You're not getting out this time, Diaz."

Tom didn't know how long it had been after that. All he heard was rustling and pounding on the other side of the door. It must've been an hour before the door was busted open again.

Tom didn't have the time to register what was happening before he was pinned to the ground by Marco.

"Marco!" Tom shouted, and tried to push him off. It didn't work, and so Tom kicked and pushed, trying to get Marco off without hurting him.

This went on for about a minute before a lot more hearts poured out of Marco's face.

Tom shielded his face as the hearts fell on him, and then Marco dropped onto Tom's chest unconscious.

It was a few seconds of Tom spitting out Marco's hearts when Marco let out a groan.

"Ughh, what happened?" Marco asked, rubbing his eyes and looking down at Tom.

Oh shit, Marco thought, as he realized where he was.

His eyes widened as he scooted back. He remembered a few glimpses of what had happened.

"Oh god, Tom I am so sor-"

"It's fine, Marco," Tom said. "Could've done with a heads up about you liking guys, though."

"Dude I- how are you so cool with this?"

"It's just Mewberty, no big deal."

"But I li..." Marco started, but didn't finish. He vividly remembered all the attention Star paid to Oskar, and he just did the same to Tom. But maybe Tom didn't know that part. Has he ever been around someone in Mewberty? Probably not.

"You what?"

"Never mind," Marco said.

"No, what were you gonna say?"

"It's not important," Marco said.

"Were you gonna say you liked me?" Tom asked, hopefully.

"Wha- um," Marco said, looking away. "Yeah, I-, I was."

"Really?" Tom asked.

Marco buried his face in his knees. "Yes," he whispered.

Tom crawled over to him and put a hand on his shoulder. "Hey."

Marco looked up just a little bit.

"I like you too."

ok but I'm actually starting to get pissed off and annoyed with this weird family dynamic stuff they're doing in mk1 just to try to stop the gay ships that's been around for a while now.

like subscorp (Kuai x Hanzo), bitomas, subsmoke (Kuai x Tomas. I'm not too much of a fan of this ship but I'll mention it anyway) and shaoko, idk if there's anything else but lmk if I missed anything I guess.

but Imma mainly talk about my main ship here; bitomas.

I would like to add that I'm not a proshipper in any way cus fuck that shit. so don't frame me as one.

this is the only recent game where they're both in it together but they make them step bros yet I've seen people make mk1 subscorp and no one is really complaining about it and it gets a bunch of likes, which is WORSE than mk1 bitomas because it's ACTUAL incest. mk1 bitomas isn't incest, they're not related to each other in any way. they're not even the same race.

but yk what's not fucking fair? THAT THE SUBSMOKE SHIP IS MORE ACCEPTED THAN BITOMAS THAT THE ACTUAL VOICE ACTORS SHIP IT FFS

in a way they're doing the stupid thing like how some people think liulao is, yk the whole "they're cousins/brothers" but they're not, it was confirmed they're not but people don't wanna do their damn research.

so I got a little hc/story for y'all:

sometime after the brothers' dad takes Tomas in, Tomas falls for Bi and his whole idolization for Bi is a coverup to try to hide his crush on him from Bi and Kuai. yes he gets close with Kuai as in best friends but he feels this is something he should keep to himself for now.

Bi wasn't actually always mean to Tomas, at some points he might have been cold to him sometimes but that's just Bi, just cus he was cold to him, doesn't mean he didn't care for him.

but then at some point Bi-Han fell for Tomas, probably starting in his teen years, but since he didn't know how to express it or deal with it, he acts how he acts towards him like how he does in mk1. it's because he never felt this way before towards anyone, let alone a guy. so he pretty much acts kinda like a tsundere in a way. keep in mind, even before this, Bi still didn't see Tomas as his brother and Tomas obviously didn't see him that way either cus of his crush on him.

all those years their feelings for each other got stronger and stronger, which made Bi more cold to Tomas, which was the time he told him that line in that one scene in mk1 about him not being brothers or Lin Kuei.

but after the betrayal of Bi-Han, while Kuai and Tomas were making the Shirai Ryu, Tomas snuck back to the Lin Kuei at night to see Bi-Han.

they fought because Bi started it, he did think Tomas was there to kill him or was there for some revenge but all Tomas wanted to do was talk. after the fight, Tomas managed to get Bi to stop.

they talked for awhile, Tomas asking the question as to why Bi-Han did all of this in the first place, why he was cold to him, why he got so much colder after all the years. Bi was hesitant to tell him, especially now since he thinks its too late to let him know the truth, he probably ruined all chances he had with him now.

but he did tell him anyway, he told him the truth, everything. from the very beginning to now. Tomas wasn't expecting this, he didn't think Bi felt the same way towards him but was he really telling the truth about the other stuff?

Bi-Han backed away after he told him, he understood that he might not believe his words anymore. Tomas stayed silent on Bi's bed, thinking, before he spoke and told him that he should tell Kuai this truth even if Kuai might not believe it.

he paused for a moment before he spoke, agreeing with Tomas. he then called him to Bi's bed, Bi was hesitant because he wasn't sure of it, he didn't know if he should.

after a few minutes, Bi joined him in bed and Tomas held him, confessing his love to him too, even after everything, he still has the same love for him like the first time he fell for him.

they wind up being together in secret for months as Tomas helped Kuai with the clan. during that time, Bi did told the truth to Kuai too and apologized for it. Kuai is a bit hesitant to forgive him right now but he will consider it. he will still work on his own clan as it still feels like the right thing to do.

peter davison's recent statement got me thinking how i still find the biregeneration confusing in the sense that apparently all the doctors biregenerated even though that doesn't make any sense to me because if they did all separate then the timeline would probably implode because if they separated from regeneration then the companions that were ✨apprehensive✨ of their version of the doctor becoming someone new then surely they would stay with the version of the doctor they're used to therefore the timeline reaching destination fucked HOWEVER

that means one separated from two & could go back, yes, he could go back to see his granddaughter. he could reunite with vicki & steven because i have decided that tales of the tardis is the classic doctors going back to find their loved ones.

that means two separated from three. that means two could go & find jamie. that means somewhere in time & space they're still together.

that means three separated from four & he's probably stashed away in some unit basement laboratory still doing his thing, enjoying drives in bessie.

that means four separated from five & the curator IS four & he probably spent sarah jane's last days with her.

that means five separated from six & reunited with tegan & then probably nyssa.

that means six separated from seven & found peri.

that means seven separated from eight & did not have that traumatic end that scarred child!me for life & after, got out of that morgue & made things right with ace. AS HE LITERALLY SAID HE HADN'T REGENERATED.

that means eight separated from the war doctor & could go back to grace or any of his big finish companions, charley??? (i have not encountered an eight big finish in my lifetime so far i know his companions names but not much else.

that means the war doctor separated from nine & passed away peacefully in his tardis knowing that he had tried to save gallifrey.

that means nine separated from ten & this is where it gets complicated because then what happens with rose? surely she'd want to stay with nine?

that means ten separates from eleven & then what? where would he go? would he just travel alone forever just like he was from journey's end-the end of time?

that means eleven separates from twelve & goes back to die on trenzalore? because his confuses me the most as clara's reaction to twelve makes me think that if eleven bi regenerated in front of her she'd stay with eleven 100% no questions asked.

that means twelve separates from thirteen. does he go to die in the snow? or does he see if there's any truth to what he was told & see if bill is actually out there in the universe with heather?

that means thirteen separated from fourteen & could go back for yaz, so they wouldn't have to say goodbye again.

Loki Season 2 Ep. 1 Thoughts:

(Heavy Spoilers)

Ok so I have a lot of thoughts and are basically all over the place so I'm gonna be putting in them in somewhat chronological order (Unlike Loki's current situation hehe)

They really HAD to put more of Loki's heartbreak over Mobius not recognizing him? Loki creators probably: "I know we're gonna bring the duo back but let's make 'em suffer just a bit more in the beginning".

I know others have covered this but also want to spread this headcanon/theory: Even though past Mobius doesn't know Loki ,and probably got his memory erased afterwards, It's still an interesting theory that maybe his interactions with Loki then might have somehow stuck with him and made him want to look into Loki a bit later.

Miss Minutes is with Ravonna right? I feel likeMinutes is probably the only tool/weapon that might give the former judge some leverage.

Casey! Casey not just being a comedic guy but actually a massive help is really nice. He (Present Casey) immediately saw Loki in pain/trouble and decided to help him without much question.

So...X-5 and D-90 weren't what I was expecting, they're kinda switched actually from what I was expecting. I thought X-5 would be a friend to Mobius and kinda con-artist and D-90 was a massive jerk who would side with Ravonna...But hey, I'm all for D-90's redemption.

New Judge is great. Screw Ravonna!...Where's Ravonna?

Apparently she was in on HWR's plan from the beginning...Guess she is a big bad after all. Also, why was she so great to HWR? Like in the comics they were couple but things seem to have taken a different turn in the MCU.

Look, I get it if you don't ship Lokius but...You have to admit was really nice to see Loki get some support from Mobius (And B-15, don't forget her stopping Ass-5) and then Mobius trying to calm/ground Loki while the poor dude is really going through it. AND even later, Loki and Mobius trying to make the other calm down and not to worry about their problems.

IF you do ship Lokius. We're either getting fed well or being clowned upon. Either way, let me just enjoy these two for a bit.

Why has no one talked about the weird fact that O.B.'s memory doesn't seem to have been erased but Mobius' has? Also, is O.B. like a TVA secret? Why the hell is no one in the TVA visiting him! How is he able to keep track of time in the TVA?!

Ok so that guidebook O.B. made, Loki still has it right? Like in a trailer clip he is flipping through an orange book, that's the guidebook right?

I love how Mobius is still thinking about whether he'll lose his skin or not till the very last minute lol. We know he's always was gonna pick saving Loki no matter what, but you'd totally still be worried about the skin thing.

I think Loki was pruned by either Future Sylvie or Future Loki. I think Future Loki and Sylvie came up with a plan to make sure Present Loki got pruned and survived. Also...Sylvie growing out her hair to have 50/50 hair colors is making me more of Bi idiot than usual.

While I enjoy the comparison to the Sam/Bucky roll to Lokius I think there is a key difference: FaTWS played this for comedy while this was played for relief that the characters are ok. And Sam immediately told bucky to get off while Loki probably just thought Mobius's suit was too heavy. (Yes, I'm wearing clown makeup, what about it.)

Finally, And I know how controversial this is: I don't think Loki is looking for Sylvie for romantic reason (OR more accurately, not the sole reason). She is literally about to be hunted down and probably killed and was the last one to see what happened in the Citadel. Even if he did feel betrayed by her, he still would probably want to save her.

OMG i still feel like I'm in a fever dream. I keep refreshing tumblr just to make sure that it HAPPENED.

We've been waiting for this for so long, i can't believe that they made Buck Bi!! Also here is the thing i want Buddie to happen and I am a hundred percent sure that it's happening (i don't know why people are thinking that it's not like???) the way i could see this going down is buck and tommy exploring their relationship and Buck beginning to question more and more things such as his relationship with Eddie. I WANT and him and Tommy to be in a relationship for a while (because they're actually pretty cute) and eddie pining. tommy will be the catalyst for Buddie.

Also: Oliver stark literally said, Buck has a crush, gets the person (exactly what happened with tommy) and that he has to work for his relationship to work and ryan saying "closer than ever??"

I also hate the fact that so people are mad and hating on the actors , that it wasn't with Eddie. Like of course a Buddie conformation would've been great, but we all knew that that wasn't gonna happen in this episode? We got FUCKING BI BUCK !!! Let's just celebrate this and just watch this beautiful story unfold. I really love reading your prediction and your positivity, please continue with that !!!

Anyone hating on the actors can legit fight me.

Oliver and Ryan have been such troopers for the fandom and Oliver now with this storyline you can tell how much he genuinely loves buck and like understands him as a character but also how to give this storyline what it deserves. Like Oliver has been endlessly respectful to the fandom too like he’s been making sure that he doesn’t get peoples hopes up while also trying to play buck in a way that is true to the character. Like did you guys see his message to the fans? Or his interview talking about how he was gonna actively play buck as bi this season as much as he can even before he got told abt the kiss. Like that man hasnt just been supportive of the fandom he’s been an advocate for us and for buck which is such a wonderful thing.

Also yeah it wasn’t Eddie but do people realise that it’s VERY hard to write an up to now presumed straight character’s self discovery in their 30s LET ALONE TWO?? Like Tim found the easiest way to set the scene for the new audience and the GA who won’t have picked up on early seasons undertone and the little things planted throughout and while I would’ve loved buddie without the middleman I completely understand why they did it this way and I’ll enjoy seeing it unfold

And YES EXACTLY BI BUCK like that alone is a MASSIVE win like we are getting such rare bi rep of not only a guy in a very “macho” job and a womaniser type character BUT ALSO a person figuring stuff out in their 30s not in a repressed full of sex shame and guilt way but in a they genuinely just never explored that side of them!! Like that’s so huge we can talk for hours about how many queer rep stories are just plain depressing but this one is so authentic while also being quite light and sweet

Okay so predictions:

So we know that Buck is gonna tell some people and some will be surprised some not so much and some will be like it’s about damn time, my bets are:

chimney- surprised but maybe not through insider info (Maddie)

Maddie- KNOWS HAS KNOWN but the only shocker for her is that it wasn’t Eddie like I can imagine the confused and so tired face rn, I think she probs has either thought he knew or knew he didn’t and just was giving him the time and dropping as many hints as she can in the meanwhile

Bobby- supportive father icon, KNOWS (and while he also I fully believe is the buddie captain as well he will play it a little closer to vest if you get what I mean- but inside he’s going insane and his eye is twitching because he poached Eddie for his dumb bi son only for them to ACT married for six seasons and go to him for dating advice abt other people constantly and now that his son is a man kisser it’s not the man Bobby was hoping for😔 pray for him y’all)

Hen- she’s the it’s about damn time response

Athena- also might be the it’s about damn time response

Ravi- in a permanent state of confusion- not about this he’s just confused always (also still fully convinced the poor guy thought buddie had been married cos that headcanon is endlessly amusing to me)

Now for actual plot I think that like the date is low-key a train wreck after the Eddie and Marisol interruption and that either we get a chenford-like double date or we just have a brief intereuption from Eddie and that’s a minor thing and like it’s buck admitting it’s his first date with a guy who hates throws a lot of questions in the air because Tommys reaction was a bit 👀 like I think it’s more or less confirmed that Tommy was repressed for a while when working with captain dickhead so maybe he’s like gonna be taking a step back cos he thinks buck needs more time to like explore this part of himself (but I hate that trope so hoping not) or maybe we get the buddie shipper daydream and Tommy is like more aware of buddie than buddie are and he either says that to buck as the reasoning but buck doesn’t tell Eddie that OR he says something cryptic about it to buck and buck doesn’t fully understand and he’s like you will eventually👀👀👀 (I need a lobotomy yes the delusions are a part of me now)

I hope that Marisol gets the fuck out right about now but I say that every episode 🫡 (edy’s face and voice make me wanna scream I hate her homophobic, transphobic ass sm)

“Again? You've been ditching us for almost two weeks now!” Your friend whines.

With a sheepish smile, you hurriedly stuff your books into your bag, carrying some that couldn't fit in. “Sorry Yujin, but this event's really important so I have to be there!” You lie, tidying up your hair before waving bye to your friends and rushing out of the lecture room. You honestly aren't in a rush, but the excitement pumping through you made you feel like it. There is no event, but you feel like if you tell your friends the truth, they'd beg to tag along.

Just before you exit school, you quickly check on your appearance in the reflection of the glass doors, dabbing on some more of the lip tint that had rubbed off since morning and curling your lashes just a little more. People stare as they walk pass, but really, who cares? Then with fast steps, you make your way down left of your school.

It takes less than ten minutes for you to arrive at Whiskers. Your heart thumps loudly in your chest. You're nervous, you always are. You pull down on your sweater to calm yourself, straightening it as you heave a sigh and walk into the café. The bell chimes loudly and immediately, the fragrant aroma of coffee beans hit your nostrils and there is a tinge of sour lemon smell today. You figured you could have a slice of cake too. From the counter, cheerful voices of “welcome” echo in your ear and you turn to smile at the employees whom you've familiarized yourself with.

Your eyes wander about the café for a brief moment, then with a much more relaxed heart, you approach the employee behind counter, “Hi. Can I get—”

“An iced americano and a slice of lemon cake?” The boy behind the register finishes for you, a knowing grin plastered on his face.

Nodding as you fish out some paper bills to pay, you laugh, “Do I come that often? You even remember my order now, Sunoo.” The latter tears the receipt from the machine and hands it to you, replying, “Yes Y/N, you come almost six out of seven days every week. Do you really think I wouldn't already remember your order by now?”

“I suppose so.”

“Exactly. And it isn't even just me, you know? Sunghoon and Riki remembers it all too.”

“Wow, I must be your favorite customer,” you joke.

Sunoo scrunches his nose with a shake of his head, “Yeah, no. When you're around, we try to stay away from you. You're actually one of the customers we avoid most.”

“Hey—”

“I'm kidding!” He laughs, “Go take a seat, I'll bring your order to you.” You do as told, finding the usual seat that gives you a view of the nature outside. It's autumn — almost winter — and as much as you hate the cold, you somehow still find yourself always taking a ten minute walk here, to Whiskers, just to have an iced americano that you can find at the Starbucks right beside your school.

There was only one reason for your doing, though.

As you let your eyes drift back into the café behind the counter, you finally spot him. The sole reason for you being here almost 24/7 for the past few months ; Yang Jungwon.

He's being pushed around by his friends, whom you know are Sunghoon, Jay and Riki. They're laughing and blabbering about something that makes Jungwon's ears go red as he shakes his head in a persistent manner. He seems flustered, you think, at whatever they were telling him. Whatever it was, it made you smile to yourself as you looked out again.

Yang Jungwon was simply a boy who worked at Whiskers. You had only noticed him one night after you had dozed off doing your assignment. It was embarrassing, really, and you thought he'd get annoyed like any normal café employee would, but he didn't.

Instead, Yang Jungwon (apparently) had let you sleep all the way till 10pm, 30 minutes after the closing time. You had awoke with drowsy eyes, slight drool gathering at the corner of your lips, slow to process your surroundings. The café was already dim, the only light on was the one at the counter where Jungwon sat. You had apologized profusely, packing your things in a hurry out of embarrassment. The boy, with no sight of anger or annoyance, told you to calm down and even offered to walk you home because it was late. While it was sweet of him, you had turned him down, already feeling burdened and apologetic. And without even saying anything else to him, you practically dashed out.

That was pretty much your first and last interaction with Yang Jungwon. Yet, when you had got home, laid in bed and replayed the events in your head, you realized the boy who sat underneath the dim lights of the café was so fucking gorgeous. He had a gentle grin, dimples so deep you could pour water in them and it would stay, and eyes so bright like they had stars in it. It made you giddy and you wanted to see him again.

So you did (and that's all you really, actually did).

The visitations to the café leading up consisted of you conversing with mostly Sunoo and sometimes another employee, (who wasn't working today) Heeseung. Other than that, all you ever did was sit at a corner and sneak glances at the cat-alike boy. You couldn't bring yourself to apologize or interact with him, and it seemed like he wasn't interested in doing so with you either. It seemed as if he was avoiding you every time you came in, or maybe he had simply forgotten about you. As discouraged as you were, you didn't force anything else. And today seemed to be no different, seeing as how it was Sunoo who took your order and also prepared it.

Hence, just like any other day, you pull out your books and laptop and begin on your almost due assignments. You do so until your order is served by Sunoo, as usual.

“Hello, here's your iced americano and your lemon cake.”

Eyes never leaving your laptop screen, you smile at Sunoo and nod, “Thanks, Sunoo.” There is a moment of silence and only then, do you notice that Sunoo still hasn't left your table, so you look up.

“Did you need...” Your eyes meet big wide ones, and your words trail off, “...something...”

Jungwon chuckles, “No, not really. And I'm not Sunoo, you know.” He says it like you don't know him, but you do. Why wouldn't you? You just assumed it was the other male because it had always been him and you thought today was no different.

“Oh,” is all you manage to say.

“Oh?”

“No,” you shake your head, “I mean, I know.”

Jungwon has a teasing grin on his lips, as he scratches the back of his head, “You know? So you know me?” You realise how creepy you actually sound.

You blank out.

“Y/N?”

“Y/N?” You repeat.

He knows my name?

By now, Jungwon has a confused expression on his face. He rubs his neck, stifling a slight chuckle, “Are you okay, Y/N? You seem... almost out of it?” His sentence ends like a question, as if he isn't sure himself either. You feel heat creep up to your neck and cheeks, because God, could you embarrass yourself any more than this?

“Sorry, I'm okay. I'm just,” you pause, trying to form a sentence, “just shocked. How—How do you know my name?” Your question slips out with no hesitation and you slap your mouth at that. You suppose it's okay though, 'cause Jungwon laughs, dimples making an appearance again.

He is so cute, what the heck, you think.

“I mean, you come almost everyday. It would be more odd if I didn't know your name, right?”

“Oh... yeah, right.” That was what Sunoo said too, though he didn't mention anything about Yang Jungwon.

He noticed. He noticed your presence every time you were here. You didn't know if that was good or bad because on one hand it really flattered you — you came here for him anyway — but on the other, it was embarrassing because then, he basically remembers that night.

“Uhm, actually,” Jungwon's voice brings you back to reality again, “I was wondering, if you wanted to go out some time. To get to know each other?”

What.

You stare up at Jungwon blankly, and he does the same to you, except his face is flushed and his cute as hell eyes are staring back at you widely. You can't seem to process anything. Your mind is empty, heart pounding, throat dry.

Did Jungwon just ask me out? Yang Jungwon?

Even as you watch his expression drop, you can't seem to get any words out. Only when he starts to take a step back to turn around and apologize for “bothering you”, do you say something.

“Wait!” Your voice is louder than you want it to be.

Jungwon gazes at you, expectant.

“I—sorry, I just...” You trail off and his wide eyes droop again, and you realize just how disappointing your words sound. “No, I mean, I'm not sorry. I'm just,” Your head is a mess. Because you simply cannot process the fact that Yang Jungwon — the boy you've basically been pining for for about two months — is asking you out. Like how? When? Why?

“You don't have to force yourself, Y/N. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have—"

You stop Jungwon from completing his sentence, “No! I-I swear I'm not forcing myself. I would love to go out some time. I just, am really nervous right now so I can't think. I mean I've noticed you for the longest time like since that night, you know? The falling asleep incident? Yeah, that. And I've always wanted to talk to you and just apologize but I couldn't gather my courage. So I just came everyday in hopes that I would be able to one day. And now that y-you're here talking to me, I cannot—”

“Y/N,” Jungwon calls softly, “breathe.” His words make you notice that you are rambling and only then do you inhale fully. He's laughing a little now, less tense and more relieved. It makes you feel better too. He clears his throat, glances back at the counter where his friends are watching and then looks back at you.

“Now, I would talk more but I have to get back to work,” he says with a grin, tilting his head cutely, “Would you, wait for me? 'Till after my shift?” And the way he looks, God, how could you say no? So you nod silently with a small beam and he nods back. As he walks back to the counter, you can see his friends chuckling and teasing him for his red ears and cheeks.

You know you look the same, yet somehow, you don't feel embarrassed.

BONUS POV:

When the bell of the café chimes, it's an automatic reaction for all employees to welcome the customers. Even as Jungwon is busy restocking goods in the storage room, he still mumbles a “Welcome”. And even from inside, he can hear his friends making a ruckus from the counter. Something along the lines of, “Oh my God” and “Holy shit” and a very loud laugh, most likely coming from Sunghoon. He is almost done with his last pack of coffee beans when suddenly, Jay and Riki dashes in, chuckling and pushing each other. Jungwon sighs, “What is it? You guys are really noisy, you know? You're disturbing the customers.”

“No, Jungwon. You,” Riki laughs breathlessly, glancing at Jay then back at him, “you should come out and see this.”

“See what?”

Jay rolls his eyes, before urging him to the door of the storage room, “Just go out. I'll do the stocking up.”

Confused, Jungwon follows the Japanese boy, who has a suspicious grin on his face. He walks to the counter and looks at Sunghoon who stands beside the coffee machine, “What? Why are you looking at me like that?” The older boy clamps his lips together, trying to prevent a giggle from slipping past his lips. He then tilts his head toward the register, gesturing at Sunoo. Jungwon's eyes follow his actions, and for a moment, he's still confused.

“What are you... Oh.”

Then he realises.

It's you.

He feels Riki pat his back, whispering “Go for it” in his ear. But he thinks he cannot hear anything right now. You haven't noticed him (you don't really ever notice him, honestly) but he thinks that's for the better, because then he has the freedom to steal glances at you every now and then. He watches intently as you pay for your drink, laugh and converse with Sunoo and walk to your usual spot beside the window. He watches everything you do.

“Jungwon, staring at her isn't going to really do anything. Just go talk to her.” Jay utters teasingly as he walks out of the storage room.

“I can't do that! No way!”

Sunghoon hums as he brews the coffee shot, “You've liked her for almost half a year now, dude. I can't even like a girl for a day.”

“That's cause you're fucking gay.” Riki snorts.

“I'm not gay! I'm bisexual!”

In the middle of their bickering, Sunoo walks up to Jungwon with your plate of lemon cake and hands it to him, “Just serve her her order. If you can't talk to her, then just don't. But just try, it won't hurt to at least be friends.” The latter takes the plate blankly, processing his friend's words. He's persistent in saying no, as he shakes his head again, about to refuse when Jay speaks up.

“She seems nice, anyways. You said so yourself too, that she was kind and sweet. So, I don't think you have anything to be afraid of.” Jay comments behind him, before gently pushing him toward your direction, “Serve it to her. It's your chance. If it doesn't work out, then it doesn't. Though I'm pretty sure it will, she comes everyday so you are given a shot everyday.”

Right. It is his chance. He always has a chance every time you walk in the café, he just never acts upon it. He's liked you for so long now, since the moment he saw you in the school hallways and when you kindly helped the school janitor aunty up because she had slipped and fell on your way out of school. He was walking behind as he watched you hold her arm and walk her to the infirmary to stick on band-aids on her bleeding elbow. On other days, he saw you most in the hallways because that was the only time he could ever see you. He didn't even know you, not your name, not your major, not your age — anything. But, every single time, he would go to work and he would talk endlessly about you to the boys, going on and on about how pretty you were and how kind and generous you were. He's sure the boys were sick of hearing about his immense crush on you.

You, on the other hand, probably didn't even know he was in your school. And he felt hopeless, like there was no point in trying.

But then you had walked into Whiskers on one fateful day, and you had smiled and greeted Sunoo and you told him your name for your order.

Y/N. That was your name. He never ever thought he would find a name so...elegant. So sweet and gentle.

You had ordered an iced americano and a slice of lemon cake that literally no one ever orders and sat at the seat beside the large window panel. You always, always, stared out into space after sitting for a few minutes before pulling out your books to study. It was the same old routine for you, and Jungwon noticed it every time. He had always been right in front of you, but you've never seen him at all. But like his friends always say, if it doesn't work out, then it doesn't. And that's fine, as long as he knows he tried. He doesn't know why today though, he supposes he just felt good, confident. Or maybe you just looked especially pretty today.

So, as Jungwon approaches you with the tray and his heart in his hands, he thinks he'll just go for it. And if you don't reciprocate, then that's alright.

When he's right in front of you, he sets the tray down and he speaks to you for the first time since he's laid eyes on you in the school hallways.

“Hello, here's your iced americano and your lemon cake.”

A Lin Kuei brothers headcannon.

This has some spoilers from MK1 so beware.

He messed up.

That was dead wrong of him to do.

Bi Han hoe'd his brothers and now they are all separated. Him on one side and Kuai Liang and Tomas on the opposite. It would've been nice if they both joined him and agreed with his vision for the future.

But it is what it is. Guess I'll be painting this picture alone. With of without them. If they get in the way, well...they can go down too. Family or not.

... He misses them.

In the outside, Bi Han has a lot of ambition, but deep within him, he misses his brothers.

Alot.

Sure, he hoed Kuai Liang. He has the right to be mad at him. He almost died because of his actions. But Bi Han misses him.

He even misses that orphan too. Tomas.

...Fricking orphan.

Yes, Bi Han was always cold to him, but he misses telling him to shut up for no reason.

Every single day, poor Tomas would be told to shut up for just existing. Bi Han would turn around and catch a glimpse of him and tell him; "SHUT UP, ORPHAN-!" Tomas wouldn't even be talking in the first place... Sometimes he would reply; "Whatttt I do? I didn't even say anything... :(" "You're living too loud."

Then, Kuai Liang would step in; "What TF is your problem? Be nice to Tomas!"

Bi Han also gives Tomas a not-so-friendly reminder that he'll never be Lin Kuei. The bewildered look on Tomas' face was priceless, but he wouldn't fight back.

He didn't want that orphan near him.... But he missed him too.

Maybe I should just call them. Hear their voice one more time? Yeah they're mad at me, but let me see what they would say.

Bi Han picked up the telephone and gave them a call.

---- The phone ringed. Tomas sees the number. It's Bi Han! Why is he calling at this time?!? He picks up the phone anyway.

Tomas: Hello?

Bi Han: ...

He doesn't know what to say. It's nice to hear him though. Surprised that he actually answered the call.

Tomas: Hello?

Bi Han: ...

Tomas: Bi Han; are you even there?

Kuai Liang comes in.

Kuai Liang: Who's that on the phone?

Tomas: It's Bi Han...

Kuai Liang: HANG UP ON THAT HOE!

Angry, Kuai Liang stomps over and forces Tomas' hand to put the telephone down to hang up the call. Either way it went, that call would've been over.

--- Kuai Liang: What did he say to you on the phone?

Tomas: ...He didn't say anything.

Kuai Liang: ...Really?

Tomas: I couldn't make it up if I wanted to.

Kuai Liang: No banter? No insults? ...No "ShUt Up OrPhAn-?"

Tomas: He said nothing. It was silent on the other side.

Huh. That was weird. That's out of character of him.

Kuai Liang: Then...What did he call for?

Tomas: I wish I could tell you. I don't know.

Kuai Liang: ... Well whatever it is, don't answer the phone for him anymore. He hoed us. There is no more talking.

And that was it.

Bi Han has tried a few more times on later days. Kuai Liang refuses to answer the phone. Even watching it ring. Tomas would answer the phone a few times, every call getting shorter than the last. Until eventually, he would stop answering the phone too.

I guess you wouldn't truly miss someone until they are actually gone.

Cotl Fanfic - Thoughts & Opinions?

So, this is the first post on this new account and it's a question for my Cult of the Lamb fandom pookies. I just recently got the game and I'm obsessed with it and have been thinking about writing a BUNCH of fanfiction.

So I wanted notes and suggestions on some things, and I might even make polls on some of them, starting most importantly with the topic below:

Gender, Pronouns, and Sexuality that are so far, are solely based on vibes and what I've seen the rest of the fandom agreeing on (And canon of course):

- The Lamb's identity will probs change depending on the fic type, but for most of them they will be assigned male at birth, He/They & Pansexual. Simple and sweet because our lamb boi is just tryna SURVIVE out here in a cult of idiots that can't even cook their own food or clean up their own shit. (Is this just me wanting to write more he/they characters in my stories because I'm he/they? Yes. Yes, it is folks.)

- Narinder is transgender male He/Him. I'm making him transgender male because I said so. I want more trans rep guys, leave me alone. & Homosexual because if his whole vibe and personality doesn't scream gay angsty emo cat I don't know what else in this world does.

- Leshy is cisgender He/Him. I can imagine him experimenting with they/them though. I may include something on that... If anyone has any notes on that I'm all ears. Best Bi. His level of chaos just radiates ADHD bisexual with way too much energy and free time.

- Heket is cis-gender She/Her. The only girlie in the family, fates have mercy on her and her patience. A lesbian for sure. I think the whole fandom just sort of agrees on this, right? With like, lots of wives because she is a highkey baddie? At least that's the impression I've been given based on all of her fanart and simps.

- Calamari- Sorry, I mean Kallamar, is cis-gendered He/Him. I was thinking of making him a transgender man too? Idk, I've just been told the cis's need rep too, and it made me gag and now I want to wave my magic writer wand and make all the characters trans and nonbinary. Opinions on that are welcome. Anyway. A pansexual, and I hear he canonically had multiple spouses? Despite looking like he has zero rizz. I mean, damn. Good for him I guess. Go squid boy, go.

In this, he's gonna be single though, because I like the idea of him struggling to find new spouses and Heket laughing at his struggle.

- Shamura is absolutely nonbinary they/them. A friend has told me this is canon, and that people may gun for my fucking throat if I change it. Not that I really want to, it fits. Shamura is lowkey one of my favorites. I just like spiders. I'm also deeply afraid of them and cry if I see them irl. I also think they're bisexual in the exact opposite way as Leshy, in that they are a calm, mildly tired wine aunt of the family, mixed with the senile grandparent that snores loudly then stops and everyone pauses and looks at each other like 'Are... Are they fucking dead?'

Anyway, this is a long post, but I needed to get this out there before I started writing stuff for this fandom. Any opinions are welcome, but no bullying other people's thoughts, and be chill guys.
