But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou Son of man with a kiss?
Tumblr media
closeup and rambling under the cut :)
slowly healing from religious trauma by viewing the Bible as a work of literature (rather than The Old Book That Runs My Life) and its interesting as fuck tbh,,, also I recently watched Jesus Christ Superstar for the first time and I am absolutely obsessed. Gethsemane and Heaven On Their Minds go so damn hard. Anyway I felt like doing an actual rendered piece and was having thoughts about Judas Iscariot and this was the result!!

song/ship analyses part 3: aziracrow and "take me to church" by hozier
this is low hanging fruit I KNOW but my friend needed a more obvious explanation so:
"My lover's got humor
She's the giggle at a funeral" is def a line you could use about crowley don't even lie
"Knows everybody's disapproval" crowley is literally an enemy twice he falls from heaven then goes against hell NOBODY LIKES HIM except for az
"If the Heavens ever did speak
She's the last true mouthpiece"
can be about both crowley and az BECAUSE
if it's az ab crowley it's saying that heaven has become corrupt just blindly following whatever the metabitch tells them to do however crowley though he doesn't like being called out on it is a gen kind person who cares ab the lives of innocents and will do anything to protect ppl he cares about and doesn't god want people to "love thy neighbor" and shit?
if it's crowley ab az it's saying that az remains the only angel untouched by the metabitch (well until s2e6) where he genuinely tries to do good unlike the rest of heaven who are okay with mass genocide if it means they win against hell, az actually cares about the many innocent lives lost
""We were born sick", you heard them say it" is kind of a reference to the metabitch insinuating that crowley was bound to fall bc of his curious nature
"Take me to church
I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies" is DEF an az lyric do i NEED to explain this even. it’s ab heaven and how he worships it no matter how much it’s hurt him. be REAL
"Offer me that deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life" absolutely a lyric ab crowley and his devotion to az
"Drain the whole sea
Get something shiny" for az? crowley WOULD
"Something meaty for the main course" crowley is the one who firsts tempts az into eating. what does he eat? an ox. something MEATY
"No masters or kings when the ritual begins" honestly like if you substitute ritual for literally anything non-human crow and az do this is literally just a description. there arent any archangels or princes of hell its just the two of them. i think this esp applies to when they do a miracle tg to hide jimbriel from the angels/demons
"There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin" BE SO REAL DO I NEED TO EXPLAIN????
"In the madness and soil of that sad earthly scene
Only then I am human
Only then I am clean" this is def like. their mindset in s1 and i think they wish they were human because being human is lik you get to experience the joys of life and the thrill and eventually like you die but everything is ever changing but for two immortals theyll always be here and while thats great its like. you know?

For those of you who would looooove content that is just straight badass Mando (not that there is something wrong with smut but come on??)
(Re)convene Time travel, whole gang of Ezra, Din, Boba, Fennec, Omega, Ashoka, we go fuck palp up!
According To Creed Every chapter is like a new episode of The Mandalorian, kinda awesome ;3
All hail the Mand'alor Wholesome badassory, where everything is great <3 Now this one is a little tricky with it’s chronological order. I don’t really agree with the authors choice. I might be wrong, but here is how i would read it;
The found The name (first chapter) The council The historian The legend The temple The name (fourth chapter) The name (second chapter) The name (third chapter) The name (sixth chapter) The leader The name (fifth chapter) The son The name (seventh chapter) The name (eighth chapter)
All help us survive Din forces Boba to be part of the mandoade 😆 Aliit ori'shya tal'din A uncompleted story about a dad failing to not adopt every child he meets.
An Unworthy Hand Seconds after Grogu was taken away by Luke, what was going on in Din's mind?
All the story's A ridiculous and comedic story of "what happens after Din leaves with Grogu after Tattoine". Sadly, the author discontinued the story since the didn’t know how to keep it going...
Back in Beskar Another hilarious story of what happens after Grogu and Luke takes off in season 2. XD
Mand'alor'ika DIN IS TINY!!! I REPEAT, DIN IS TINY!!!! (adult mind in tiny body back in time)
Blow in Like a Hurricane (Everyone Will Know my Name) Nobody seems to realise that the unsuspecting Din is actually Mand'alor. Including Luke and Leia XD Buir Everyone’s POV on the Dadalorian and Grogurt.
Clones and Kings Rex gets a task from Ashoka, "Take care of this dude. He is a magnet for disasters" Curse and Cure Din takes (tries) his role as the Mand'alor with some help from Luke, Leia and other members of the universe. Demons Run When a Good Man Goes to War Evil people has done something bad to someone (it's Grogu, always is), and Din is royaly pissed off. Din Djarin and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Time Travel Incident Time travel, Din meets Anakin and Obi. Anakin is convinced that Din is some oooold Mandalorian.
Filling the Empty Nest Din figures out what to do with himself after season 2, misses Grogu, and somehow ends up rebuilding Mandalore. From Foundling to Father Din is eight. Gets rescued. His dad learns how to be a dad to him. (I seriously wish the author will continue the story T.T) Short works Some sad some interesting. Honor thy Clan What would happen if most of the survivors after the purge was children? General Mudhorn (and the time traveling bush) Just like the title says, plus som time travel Grogu's Adventures in Acquiring a Buir Grogus POV from the beginning to the moment Luke takes him away. Homebound Ain’t some teenage angst Ben Solo going to stop the might Grogu! if love is the answer, you're home Din is just being a dad, missing his son. And then there is Luke who is really bad at tracking.. In harmony The ehh.... the armor is alive... The Mand’alor and the Jedi These stories are by faaaar the best ones out there. I can’t give the author enough love. The writing, the pacing, all the characters that stays.... I can’t recommend it enough! If you love The Mandalorian, then you will DEFINITELY love these works!!!!!! Lost in time The clones Rex, Cody and Fives travel forward in time. Din's dad instincts kicks in. Mandalorian Menace Time travel, Din adops Anakin. F*** you Jedi more alike than apart Din and Sabine doing a heist and become mandosiblings (boba and Din are bros)😎 My Neighbor, My Neighbor, and Me Modern AU Din and others No Holy Cities Around the time when Din is introduced to the mandalorians. Nowhere King Time travel. Din has been Mand'alor for a long time, and then... the most horrible happens... he comes from nowhere and plans to fix the galaxy. Only the Parent You Will Be Hera Syndulla and Din Djarin's children call to each other and then stuff happens. Oya Manda'lor! (15 years and up (cus this ain’t america), warning of smut) This one is mostly 98% badass buuut... ehh... there is mentioning of smut.. and the other works of the same person... is hella ssmutty 😳 Time travel, Din meets Jaster. Phoenix Rising: Stronger Together Duology (15 years and up (cus this ain’t america), warning of smut) This one... again, mostly badass, around 89% badass. There is smut😑 Din is in pieces after Grogu left with Luke. Ashoka comforts him and Bo-Katan is a bitch. Ring out the song of the Midnight Blade Din and the darksaber takes on the empire. Highly recommend that you listen to the song at the same time you read this one. https://youtu.be/toJD2eJ4zvo Suddenly, I'm Respectable AU in which Bail and Breha Organa have a backup plan in place for Leia's rescue. The Consequences of Wearing a Touchy Mystical Laser Sword Din (and some others (not gonna tell😉)) shrink to their child sizes and try to fix the galaxy. Some humor, hehe. The Deserter Okey... everyone is allowed to pine for Din, but Din is as sexual as a brickwall!!!! The Pros and Cons of Time Travel and Force Visions Time travel. Mando being (as usual) a himbo, while senators and Jedi try to understand the situation... The Way of Conquest Time travel. Me, the force, Yoda and the author are giggling like maniacs 8D Truth and Consequences Okey soooo this one doesn’t really have Din in it... much... Tor Vizla and Jaster Mereel gets bonked on their heads by their grandchildren. The Mandalorian and the Rebel Spy Cassian gets adopted by Din's buir and they, sort of, grews up together. They're Gonna Give You Hell This one is by far the funniest shit ever🤣 do NOT read where you need to be quiet!! (i accidentally laughed in a quiet auditorium...) Time is a social construct Time travel, Din adopts Satine and Obi. Trust Luke travel to Mandalor and training begins. Vortex Amnesia for Din, he only remember that Grogu left. Nope. 2 years have gone by! You Can Worship the Ashes Time travel. Din saves Fives. you were only waiting for this moment to arise Rey gets (sort of) adopted by Din.

Hey just wondering, do you still do requests? If you still do can you do randy meeks or Sidney presscot fluff? Were the reader had a long day in work/school and she just cuddles with either of them. That's if you're comftable with it. Have a nice day :)
Yes I do take requests, I love doing them and I love this idea, it was so cute, and fun to write. I may have gone overboard with the backstop and made it a little serious (?) And sad, but I got really into this imagine. Thanks so much for giving me this request and enjoy!

Tumblr media
It was a Wednesday, one of Y/n's least favorite days of the week, mostly because it's right in the middle. It's not the malicious Monday, the same one she dreaded every single week, and it wasn't the long-awaited Friday. So that was already a bad start to her day.
Then as she was getting ready for school, her bestfriend, Chloe, called saying she was taking a sick day because she decided to go to a party the night before, like an idiot, one that Y/n chose not to go to, considering it was a school night and she didn't want a hang over as bad as she was sure Chloe was having right now. This meant that Y/n had no ride to school and she would either have to walk the not-so-close distance to her worst nightmare or take the sketchy bus all the way to the retched prison (school).
She opted for the bus not wanting to be sweaty and sticky by the time she got to school, or run over. The bus was filled with mostly people she new from around town, a few single mom's coming home from their nightshift, or her neighbors going to their 9-5, and the occasional dad taking their kid to the park or some young adult girls going to the mall. This was a relief considering most of the time when she was on the bus it was filled with scary looking men, staring at her from afar thinking she didn't notice and pick-pocketers.
See Y/n lived on the other side of town, she didn't live in a fancy house with a fancy garden and prestigous neighbors, she lived in a small two-story (if you counted the attic) with a small yard that her siblings played in with their dogs and some not-so-nice neighbors. They often made complaints for no reason at all or tried to run her and her siblings over while thy were walking around the block.
So as she was heading to school she adjusted the straps of her backpack while listening to music on her new walk-man. Thinking of getting to see her girlfriend and her other friends today at school. They were the only reason Y/n actually went to school otherwise she would've been skipping almost everyday. It's not like her mom would care. Ms. Y/l/n was a very busy and exhausted woman, having 6 kids, working day and night at the hospital and dealing with a messy divorce, it wasn't easy. Y/n took care of her siblings and got a job to help take care of the family and help her mom out. She understood that her mom was trying but sometimes she just wished she could spend more timw with her mom like when she was young, before they moved to Woodsburough.
As she finally arrived at school she saw her friends sitting at the fountain they always met at and she walked up to them to have a chat before school started, and hopefully they could make her day better.
As she walked up she was greeting with a smart remark from her bestest friend, Randy Meeks. "Well you look peachy!" he calls from a few meters away as he notices her approaching with a sour look on her face. "Haha, very funny asshat." she responded. "Well don't you look pretty today," she hears as her lovely girlfriend appears in her line of sight. She wasn't wearing anything too pretty just a simple pair of blue boyfriend jeans and a white graphic tee and some matching blue converse. "hi beautiful!" Sidney greets her as she comes to give Y/n a hugand a kiss on the cheek inviting her to take a seat. The group consisting of Stu Macher, Billy Loomis, Randy Meeks, Tatum Riley, Sidney Prescott, and Y/n Y/l/n herself talked about their previous night and about the party a few of them chose to go to, until the bell rang signaling it was, much to Y/n's demise, time to head to class.
The day went by very slowly and Y/n got more and more bored as the day went on, she just wanted to go home and snuggle with her girlfriend. To make matters even worse she got lunch detention for falling asleep in Math. So she couldn't even see her friends at lunch today.
As the school day came to an end, Y/n headed to work at the video store with Randy, she was glad he worked there with her it made her day slightly better, but her day still was progressively getting worse, she got yelled at by customers and her boss made her work her ass off all afternoon. As she was packing up to leave she called Sidney on the stores phone and made plans to come over, since her aunt would be taking care of her siblings this evening.
Finally as she headed to Sidney's house she walked in to be met with Sidney in her pajamas with snacks and dvd's lined up on her coffee table and greeted Y/n with peck on her lips. She sat her down and told her to pick a movie, Halloween, Beetlejuice, or Beauty and the Beast, her choosing the latter knowing Sideny didn't really like horror movies and wasn't a fan of Beetlejuice even though she would have gladly watched them if Y/n wanted to.
This was it, the perfect end to Y/n's bad day, sitting on the couch cuddled up with her girlfriend on the couch watching a Disney movie. It couldn't get better than this.

For the writer asks, all questions with a 2 in them, please. :-)
Alright, okay, holy shit lmao this is gonna be a big one. AND I AM UP FOR THE CHALLENGE!! Thank you Fizzy!!
Throwing this under the cut as there are a LOT of questions.
2. Do you plan each chapter ahead or write as you go?
I already answered this one here!
12. how does receiving or not receiving feedback/support impact you?
I think every writer loves feedback. All we want to do is yell about our stories with people - that being said, not everyone has the time to leave a comment and I understand that. However, I feel engagement is super important to keep a fandom alive. I try not to get stuck on that though - I feel like I get a decent amount of feedback, and then there's some fics that receive little to none. It's just how things are. Feedback encourages me to work faster on certain pieces, and a lack of engagement makes me feel like I can be slower on others.
20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?
Yes. I use various headcanons, phrases and themes throughout my stories. It's how you know they're mine I guess lol - I always include blueberries in some fashion, I always describe Bilbo's hazel eyes meeting Thorin's blues, fireflies and freedom, etc. I love fluff, hurt/comfort, etc. So I like to stick to my wheelhouse and use styles/phrases I know that work.
21. Would you ever collaborate with another writer for a story?
idk @sunnyrosewritesstuff, would I?
22. Are there certain types of writing you won’t do? (style, pov, genre, tropes, etc)
I won't do reader inserts, or change from 3rd person pov. Those aren't my wheelhouse and I feel uncomfortable trying to do those. As for tropes, pregnancy fics, love triangles, a/b/o, and I'm sure some others, they just aren't really what I'm looking for as a writer.
23. Best writing advice for other writers?
Don't compare yourself to other writers - no one does a fic just like you. You may have a similar concept, but no fic is exactly the same because no author is exactly the same. Also, stats do not determine what is a good or a bad fic. Do not obsess over them, they mean NOTHING.
24. Worst writing advice anyone ever gave you?
See above and reverse it.
25. What fic do you wish you got more of a response on?
Probably my TRSB fic from 2022, Between Vices & Virtues. It's a 40k multichapter I worked very hard on over the course of 2-3 months and it just feels like it didn't do as well as I'd hoped. I love it anyway :) which is what matters.
26. Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?
Where The Shadows Lie, definitely. It's a crackshit fic, as I call it. But Fuck Thy Neighbor is creeping up on that list as my very fun rom-com fic lol
27. What is your most and least favorite part of writing?
The planning and actual writing is my favorite part. My least favorite part is the summary/tags/title lol honestly, my bane!
28. On average, how much writing do you get done in a day?
Some days are better than others. Some days I write 0 words, others I can pump out nearing 3k. It depends on my mood.
29. What’s your revision or editing process like?
I go through my chapter/fic with spelling/grammar in mind. Then once all that is done, I read it aloud (most of the time) to check for flow and what not to make sure it sounds right to my own ears. It's pretty simple, but time-consuming.
32. Name three of your favorite fanfic writers.
I love so many writers???? But the first three that came to mind were @i-did-not-mean-to @sunnyrosewritesstuff and @ahufflepuffhobbit
42. What’s the last fic you read? Do you recommend it?
So, I am a very slow reader. But the last thing I was working on reading was a WIP by @theladygreiwolf, already, I definitely recommend it, but it's not ready yet 👀
52. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
Yes. I try to respond to as many comments as possible - I do this because I like to engage with other people about xyz story. I also want people to know how much I appreciate that they took the time to leave a comment, it's the least I can do in return!
62. Thoughts on cliffhangers?
I love cliffhangers. I use them now and again in my own works!
72. What order do you write in? front of book to back? chronological? favorite scenes first? something else?
Chronological 99% of the time. I think there was (1) whole case where I wrote the end of a chapter and then went back to do the beginning. I was in the mood to write that content, and it had to come out or I'd explode.

Hello there, I am the one who requested the Jeremiah Cloutier headcanons. I just wanted to thank you so, so much for taking the time to make such a long, lovingly written post! As a Christian who is also bi, with a complicated relationship with gender, I really appreciate the even handedness and delicacy of your writing. I like that the reader, while they felt unwelcome in the church, was still curious, reverent and sought out answers. And I really liked how in character Jeremiah was, too. Passionate about God, understanding and gentle, but still struggling with his thoughts and feelings, as he would do. I love that he went to visit Ray for advice, as I seriously wish they had longer to interact in canon. The rainbow winged Angel analogy was absolutely gorgeous, and relatable as my childhood was dotted with stained glass. Last, but certainly not least, the little details of the relationship and Jeremiah’s little quirks are completely precious. He absolutely would be a loud gum chewer! A great exploration of a sadly under-explored character. I hope it was not in any way painful for you to write, as you mentioned your relationship with the church in your notes, for which I am sorry. I know that difficult feeling. I thank you once again for the time and care you took. I shall certainly request again some time, if you enjoy it and are happy to indulge me. Have a terrific week and God bless!
Awwwwwww you’re so sweet!!🥹❤️ I’m glad it was received in the spirit with which it was intended! My goal is never to bash anyone’s religion, but I have had my own rocky path with my family’s church. It wasn’t painful to write though; it actually made me reflect. It’s weird being gay and gender non conforming in the Bible Belt. But I remember I was allowed and even encouraged to watch Veggie Tales as a kid. My favorite was A Snoodle’s Tale. Where people draw mean pictures of the Snoodle, and he carries them in his backpack and it gets heavier and heavier with time. Then he goes into a cave and you never see who he’s taking to, but it’s supposed to represent God. He draws the Snoodle a picture of himself looking strong and courageous. He takes the other pictures out of the bag and adds his… and it’s lighter than air. I’ve never felt so close to God till that episode. I’ve always liked how Veggie Tales portrayed him. I also know what it’s like to try to have a relationship with the church while you’re gay or gender non conforming. It can be difficult to love thy neighbor when thy neighbor has contempt for you. That’s why I liked Cloutier’s arc. He learned not to be so judgmental of people when the people are genuinely trying. Hence his relationship with Mukada. They both have major differences in their spiritualities but they put that aside to love God together. And I think that’s beautiful.
Also about the gum chewing; i just felt like it was right, y’know?😂

Lessons From Laodicea (Revelation 3:14-22).
The Cost of Indecision
Those who find themselves in a place of indecision also find themselves riding an emotional rollercoaster. They feel wishy-washy. Perhaps, you have experienced this for yourself. Part of the experience often include stress, and where there is stress, there is no peace. At least when a decision is made, you have direction and a sense of certainty -even if it’s the wrong one. The fear of making the wrong decision is paralyzing. It’s one big reason people become indecisive. Ironically, there is a big decision every human must make that actually affects the ability to make the right decisions. That decision is to whether one will go all in with his or her relationship with God. Truth be told, there is no middle ground. Those who straddle the fence, eventually hit a fence post. As long as a person has one foot in the Kingdom and the other in the world, he will never genuinely have the peace that surpasses understanding. There are stark warnings throughout the Bible about trying to have it both ways, so to speak. Let’s be very clear, if one continues to live this way, there will dire eternal consequences. The decision for God gives you access to the wisdom required to make all other decisions.
Lukewarm
Revelation 3:14-16 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of My mouth. To be lukewarm is to be unrefreshing. How many like drinking lukewarm water when they are hot? How many people love a lukewarm bath when they’re cold? A hot bath is great, so is a cold plunge. By the way, Jesus is not saying He desires people to be spiritually cold: on the contrary. Remember, the Lord uses things (often physical) of which we are familiar to illustrate spiritual truths. They are known as metaphors, which are frequently found in parables. Why would Jesus say, I wish you were cold or hot? Knowing a little history of Laodicea will actually bring some clarity to the language He uses in this letter. Here are some cliff notes. It was the capital of Phrygia, about 15 miles from Philadelphia. It was a prosperous commercial city, situated in the fertile Lycus River valley at the crossroads of the trade route from the East to Pergamum and Ephesus (part of modern-day Turkey). Originally, its name was Diospolis, but was renamed by the Syrian King, Seleucus II after his wife, Laodice. Being lukewarm may refer to its sources of water. One source was a spring four miles to the south, from which they actually piped water to the city for drinking. Unfortunately, by the time the water reached the city, it would no longer be cold; rather, it would be lukewarm. Sometimes it would cause vomiting, because of containments from the material used in the piping. Another source was the hot springs found in neighboring Hierapolis, which was used for bathing. Again, by the time the water reached Laodicea, it would be lukewarm. Here’s a major takeaway: the farther away from the Source, the less refreshing a person becomes. Another word for lukewarm would be, indifferent.
Self-Sufficiency
Revelation 3:17-18 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of Me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. Laodicea had great wealth, some of which was derived from gold it contained. In fact, a number of Christians did quite well for themselves. Because of their wealth, they refused Rome’s help to rebuild the city when it was devastated in an earthquake in 60 AD. They were determined to remain self-sufficient. Hence, we read, “You say, I am rich.” Moreover, the city produced a fine black wool from its local sheep. Additionally, it boasted of a medical school that produced a well-known eye medicine know as Phrygian powder. Thus we read, “I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments (righteousness -see Revelation 19:8), so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see.” Jesus told us to store up for ourselves treasures in Heaven. Self-sufficient people are self-righteous, which is very unrefreshing. They are spiritually blind. One might say, their self-righteousness has caused them to become incapable of seeing their condition. Their works are self-centered. Those who are self-sufficient are lukewarm!
The End of Laodicea
Today, Laodicea lies in ruins, as it was hit with another earthquake in 7 A.D., and consequently abandoned. There are some remnants, such as an aqueduct, a gymnasium, and tombs. The church at Laodicea no longer exists. Interestingly, these point to lukewarm water, works of the flesh and ultimately, death.
Call to Repentance
Revelation 3:19-22 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with My Father in His throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Because of His love for humanity, and especially His Church, the Lord is not satisfied to leave us in a fallen condition. He rebukes and disciplines those He loves. In this case, the word for love is not AGAPE; but PHILEO, which means to have affection for, denoting personal attachment. It’s a matter of sentiment or feeling. This word does not apply to loving one’s enemies, which would be AGAPE (see Matthew 5:44). Moreover, man is never commanded to PHILEO (“love”) God; rather, it is AGAPE. Nevertheless, he is also to PHILEO his fellow man. This is a call to zeal, as well as repentance. Zeal as opposed to indifference. Interestingly, “I stand at the door, and knock” is not altar call as it often used in church settings. This is a specific call of repentance to those who are distant from Him -the lukewarm; not the sinner in general. Those who are indifferent will decide whether or not they will heed His call and open the door to Him, or simply remain lukewarm. Those who listen, and overcome will find unsearchable rewards.

So, I'm writing this at 3 am, because I just can't stop thinking about it, and I figured the best way to stop would be to get it out. I apologize if you read all the way through, because most of this is going to be a personal collective of thoughts and experiences and thus may not be very interesting.
The first thing... I'm currently on a mini "vacation" of sorts, I've taken a week to come back and stay with my family, away from college and work. Which is great, I love my family. Or, at least, I'm pretty sure I do.
See, I'm not sure I love all of them. There's aspects to my family that I just can't support, and it really makes it hard some days. More on that in a minute.
When I got home, I brought up the Lightyear movie. I thought "Hey, they raised me on Toy Story, surely they've seen this or are interested in seeing it!" And then... my mom made a face, and said to me:
"No, actually we're boycotting the movie, because... well, you know why."
And I do know why. There's a whole lesbian relationship in the movie. It's incredible. I loved it. I loved the fact that it was included.
But my family...? The complete opposite.
Now for a bit of context. I was born and raised Catholic. I'm not sure where, but along the way I decided it wasn't for me, and the second after I moved out (was kicked out) of the house, I stopped going to church. I stopped praying. I knew the whole thing wasn't for me. But, I took a lot of the lessons to heart. The main one being, "Love thy neighbor." And I do. I go out of my way to be kind and warm to everyone I meet. My friends used to joke that if I didn't like someone, they must really be an awful person.
But, enough on me, I thought I got this way of life from my family. I figured, since I think like this, surely my loving family does the same?
But, no. And I feel nothing but shame and sadness whenever my family brings up the topic of same-sex relationships, and their disdain for the whole thing.
I simply can't believe people who want to preach love and respect immediately turn around and wish Hell, literal eternal torment, on people they've never met, simply because they love the same sex as them. It's... mind-boggling. I'm blown away every time, and I simply avoid the topic around them as often as possible.
It's this specific attitude they have for such things which drove away one of my siblings. She came out as Trans, but... not until after she'd moved away. In fact, the message she sent to all of us included "... I feel safe enough to tell you."
And that didn't change them one single bit. They still deadname her. Refer to her as her original gender. I haven't heard from my sister in almost a year now, because she's simply cut contact from all of us. And I've tried, trust me. I've said all I can say to try and get her back. At this point, I've accepted I just may never see or speak to her again.
And it all comes back to my family. Specifically my parents, but they've imparted their opinions on more than one of my other siblings. I just can't really understand them.
And it breaks my heart.

Recently I decided that the fireside girls are phenomenal and deserve much more characterization than they got in the show. I’m very sorry for how long it took me so long to realize this!
Anyways to start off here’s some casual clothes since we never saw them outside their uniforms in the show!! Explanations for each under the cut as per usual! :D
~
Just a disclaimer that while I used every scrap of evidence I could find from the wikis and rewatching the failed pilot episodes that I did have to make some stuff up for these. In the future I hope to build on what the show gave us for more fully fleshed out characters but until then here’s a start!!
Gretchen
I should let y’all know now that I did base their color schemes off of those in act your age! But I gave everyone a secondary color as well (if they didn't already have one)
Gretchen, according to the wiki is “Extremely Smart, happy” (extremely smart being unique)
She is also the only (known) one with the Saying A Word No One Else In The Room Knows Patch
From that we can take that she’s in the same sort of archetype as Huey Duck, Violet Sabrewing, Frida (hilda), Clemont (pokemon xyz), etc.
So I tired to base her outfit on them!
In this case it’s mostly Huey, Violet, and Frida because pokemon outfits follow different rules
Violet and Frida’s outfits are more similar because they’re what I consider “comfortable”
And while I love their designs I decided to go the other route!
The other route being Huey! Aka I wanted to give her a polo shirt skjdfhgk
Besides, for Gretchen’s age up design I think her outfit fits in the same category as Violet and Frida’s do! So we’ll get there eventually!
But anyways yes, I took the polo shirt from Huey then decided I should probably give her pants because she isn’t a duck where its socially acceptable to not wear pants sksajdhfgaks
So yeah a pleated skirt just seemed the right way to go yes? :D
Katie
Yes Katie is wearing crocs
Why you may ask?
Tumblr media
BECAUSE WHAT ARE THOSE SUPPOSED TO BE OTHER THAN CROCS
LISTEN- I tried, I really did, to come up with something other than crocs
But I couldn’t hecking do it
Well I couldn’t without ignoring this part of her character design which is 90% of what I have to go off of
Anyways from her wiki entry her personality is described as “Kind, helpful, cute”
This makes cute her only unique trait among all the fireside girls (except technically Isabella)
She’s also the only (known) one with the semaphore patch (that isn’t on her wiki but it is stated in bee story)
btw this is totally unrelated to my design but I’m thinking what if Katie got into color guard when she’s older? skjdhfakasj idk I think she would like it
Anyways!! At another point in the wiki it mentions her “running gag” (running gag in quotations because it only happened once I watched the episode specifically looking for this) where she says/does unusual things to get a glance from the other girls
I’m taking that to mean she’s silly!!!!!
Hence the crocs sksjdhfak
The overalls just seemed to fit her nature, and like I know Baljeet already has overalls but she’ll fight him for it k? skjhdsak
Milly
I’ll say here that Milly and Holly have the least characterization from their wikis which I’m very sad about
Okay so Milly’s  “Kind, helpful, Happy” (no unique traits), is bad with secrets (operation crumb cake), and has one more Help Thy Neighbor patch because she went back to Phineas and Ferb’s house after everyone left at some point
Unfortunately from first glance we don’t don’t have a lot to go off of character design wise with these
However!! I know another character who's bad with secrets, helpful, and wears a bow in her hair!! That's right- Webby Vanderquack (btw very sorry to anyone who hasn't watched Ducktales I’m gonna keep bringing it up because I love it a lot I’m sorry)
So I loosely based this design on Webby’s! Aka dress shirt thing (in this case, a blouse) and a skirt that I think is neat!!
Webby’s design leans more into her nerdy side and so I made Milly’s lean toward sweetness!! (not saying Milly isn’t nerdy, there's just no evidence to suggest that she is so I didn’t lean into that) (also that would be too close to literally just drawing Webby’s outfit which I also didn’t want to do)
Holly
I’m restating that Holly and Milly get practically nothing from their wikis (Holly getting the least)
Like  “Kind, nice, helpful” -The P&F wiki on Holly
Go girl!! Give us nothing!!!!!
skjdjhf okay but actually there is exactly one thing we can get from the wiki
While she doesn't have any unique patches, if we look at my patch reference sheet below
Tumblr media
You may notice that for all the patches that 3 people got; Gretchen and Holly have all four (Ginger being replaced with Adyson for the Rodeo Clown patch)
In conclusion: Gretchen and Holly are best friends.
Look I know I’m blowing this a little out of proportion, but they gave me literally nothing so I’m running with what I have
Anyways!! I’m taking Gretchen and Holly being best friends as Holly is also wicked smart!!
So in conclusion that all adds up to I’m also making Holly’s outfit nerd-esq because I can
This time basing it loosely of of Satsuki from My Neighbor Totoro because she’s who I think of for an orange and yellow color scheme!
(she also gives me Boyd (DT again) vibes from the color I chose for the shorts though haha)
Adyson
Starting right off the bat the wiki gives us “Sometimes comical, helpful, accident-prone, nice”
Accident prone gives us bandages
Adyson also has the unique patch of the appliance repair patch
She also used to have the record patch for earning six patches in one day before Candace broke that record!
So I gave her running shorts and a sleeveless hoodie because I take that as she’s slightly sporty (athlesure but more casual)
Adyson was really much more straightforward than the others
I had an idea in my head that made sense so I went with it, y’know?
Ginger
okay but WHY IS GINGER SO TALL
I’m not even talking about how much taller I made her here because I was basing it off of the show!!! She’s stupid tall!!!
And like I know Stacey and her mom are both tall so of course she would be too but LOOK AT THIS
Tumblr media
I MEAN ?????? BRO-
Anyways moving on! :D
I REALLY liked her light blue and indigo color scheme in aya so I tried to keep that!
I wish I could have incorporated a little more light blue but with the style of dress I went with that wasn’t really possible
Speaking of her dress!! Why’d I do that you may ask?
I dunno I thought it looked cute!
Listen- I love giving explicit reasons for each and every choice I make, but honestly there's usually a point where I have no ideas and go “eh its cute”
and thats what happened here!
Thanks for reading if you got this far!!
If I missed some details or you have ideas please come talk to me!! I really want to do a good job for these guys (they absolutely deserve it) and could use all the help I can get!

Um does your bio really say that you respect G*na Car*no?? As a Christian, I thought you’d be against hate and prejudice... so much for love thy neighbour I guess :// super disappointing
It does say that. I believe she is also a Christian, at least, when i watched some of her fights they showed her praying before most of them. And hugging her opponent directly afterward. And the way that she positively glows with inner joy comes across as a fellow believer. I haven’t had a chance to ask her directly, but then, that’s not even my business really, that’s between her and God.
The only hate and prejudice i have seen is towards Gina, not from her. I’ve seen a lot of lies about what she actually did and said, and most people i talk to about it believe the lies even if they agree that she was treated badly. That’s how pervasive this bullying and cancel culture attack was.
Gina doesn’t hate people, she is very kind and very open to people of all viewpoints. She and Pedro are good friends. The people who did and continue to spread hate...i just can’t even imagine being like that. At all. So i love her even if i don’t always agree with her. She’s a year younger than me, and whereas i normally stay silent when people lie about me to my face, she doesn’t put up with that kind of b.s., and it blows me away.
I wish i had that kind of bravery. I wish i would have fought against the people who bullied and abused me and am still anxious every time i try to stand up for myself.
The verse says “love your neighbor as you love yourself.” Point being is that you have to love yourself before you can love your neighbor. People who are lying about you and actively seeking to harm you are not your neighbors. Their your enemies. And yes, Jesus taught us:
“You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy. But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!” (Matthew 5:43-44 NLT)
And from what i have seen of Gina, she loves her enemies.

Any Reylo fic recs?
i’ve actually wanted to do a big fic rec for a while, so this is the perfect opportunity!
i’ve gathered a list of classic tropes and tried to pick one or two favorites for each! this is by no means a comprehensive list, and if you guys like this, i would be happy to do another edition later on! these are all mostly fluffy as that’s what i usually prefer, but as with most reylo fics there is a lot of explicit content, so please mind the ratings!
without further ado, i present...
stoppingby’s first reylo fic rec: tropey favorites!
Arranged marriage? And Closer Still Is Never Enough - lovefrompluto (15K, E). sweet, tender & caring prince ben. rey is special, and he knows that. reminds me why i love fanfic - watching them fall in love a million different ways.
Best friends-to-lovers? i’ve been in love with you for ages (and i can’t seem to get it right) - akosmia (10K, T). when who you want is right under your nose, and not only can they give you everything you want, they want to. ben cares for rey without hope or agenda.
Bleed Me Dry, I Don’t Mind - AttackoftheDarkCurses (12K, E). best friends to lovers from two perspectives. a little growing up together, a little university AU. they slip into love without even realizing.
Canonverse? chase all your cares away - LovesBitca8 (4K, E). ben defects to the resistance. rey loves his smile and is determined to get one out of him.
Coffee shop? maybe i just wanna be yours - akosmia (13K, T). ben compulsively offers favors to rey’s friends. in return, they meddle. it’s a 5+1 (i am obsessed with those as you will come to find out).
Emotional hurt/comfort? thrilled by the still of your hand - akosmia (9K, T). canondivergent. ben is touch starved after… everything. rey helps. i cried multiple times, and i loved it.
Serotonin and Dopamine - pontmercy44 (28K, E). this is so unique. very realistic in the way that it shows the work that goes into a relationship. i won’t give away too much, but mental heath issues are integral to the plot, so be forewarned.
Enemies-to-lovers? Left Handed Kisses - Ever-so-reylo (18K, E). a reylo classic. assistant district attorney vs criminal defense lawyer. hatefucking turns into something more.
Epistolary (including forms of communication)? Hanging on the Telephone - jeeno2 (11K, E). rey gets a sext from a wrong number. sure, she should ignore it and move on. but where’s the fun in that?
our love was meant to be (my love came back to me)  - BensCalligraphySet (3K, T). in this life, ben finds letters in a bottle from someone who seemed to know him in a previous one. the galaxy gives them another chance.
Fake dating? Let Me Dream, Let Me Stay - Melusine11 (38K, E). rey backs herself into a lie and asks her coworker kylo to pretend to be her boyfriend at rose and finn’s wedding. they roadtrip, they share a bed, they eat at a punny restaurant. so much fun!
Roommates? Closer to Fine - jeeno2 (15K, E). pregnant rey needs a roommate and moves in with medical student ben. there’s a lot to be scared about, but they’re not alone.
Someone You Love(d) - AttackoftheDarkCurses (39K, E). rey and prince!ben are college roommates. they end up spending break together with leia, han, breha, and padme. they claim to hate each other and misunderstandings ensue. so many tropes i can’t even list them.
Flower shop/tattoo parlor? alderaan places - nymja (5K, T). a classic take on a classic trope. it’s valentine’s day!
Friends with benefits? Making Love Out of Nothing At All - LoveofEscapism (4K, E). ben will do anything rey asks. so hot, but full of emotion.
Two to Tango - crossingwinter (6K, E). i love this one. absolutely nails the heart wrenching emotion of knowing you’ve made a mistake in the moment before you fix it.
Funny? First Order IT, Can I Get Your User ID? - krossartist (14K, T). witty banter and childish name calling with a small touch of hurt/comfort. adorable!
Harry Potter AU? the water smells like you - shruggyben (3K, G). every ship needs an HP ‘verse amortentia fic! feat. professor leia organa.
High school? The Buddy List - violethoure666 (23K, E). since reading it a few weeks ago, this has quickly become one of my favorites! if you miss the aughts this one's for you! AIM messenger drives the story.
Medieval/Royalty? Tangled, but Unbroken - AttackoftheDarkCurses (20K, M). growing up together, star-crossed lovers, alderaanian hair braiding - what more could you want? my fave tag on this: uncle luke is a reylo.
Neighbors? Flux & Solder - angharabbit (23K, E). another one of my all time favorites. new neighbors ben and rey help each other with trauma. feels like a rainy day from the thunder through the rainbow. make sure you read the tags before reading this incredible work!
Office romance? Minus 1 - Ever-so-reylo (5K, E). rey sends a text to the wrong office IM number. rey doesn’t know who she’s texting, but friendship and… more develops.
keep calm and let HR handle it - hi_raeth (11K, T). another 5+1! ben is the CEO and rey is the HR director. coworkers to confidantes to lovers. super sweet.
Oneshot? spring will come again - prncesselene (8K, M). over the course of a year, rey’s life changes completely as she renovates padme amidala’s old greenhouse.
Only one bed? under thy own life’s key - galvanator (23K, E). sexy with great emotional depth, but it’s the sequel trilogy gang that makes this stand out in the trope! makes me wish we got a post-TROS everyone-lives sitcom.
Romcom-inspired? if you’re ready comic get it - violethoure666 (28K, E). if You’ve Got Mail was with tumblr mutuals and a comic book store.
We Never Met - KyloTrashForever (3K, E). that scene in When Harry Met Sally where the older couple talks about meeting in the elevator. what happens when two people who are constantly just missing each other finally meet?
Slow burn? My Heart Always Belonged To You - JGoose13 (52K, E). Persuasion AU! reylo + jane austen = magic.
Soulmates? wholly to be a fool - bigfootsflannel (9K, T). when your soulmate confesses their love, their words appear on your arm. ben makes a drunken confession.
Stuck/stranded together? a place to go - delia-pavorum (52K, E). rey and ben go looking for solitude in luke’s cabin. they don’t get off on the best foot before getting snowed in. sickfic (which i think there is far too little of in reylo fanfic)! beautiful and warm.
University/college? Sociology of Sexuality - Celia_and (4K, E). ben is that just-playing-devil’s-advocate kid in class that we all have to put up with. y’all this is so hot. if this happened in my real life, i think i would never recover.
Work-in-progress? flesh stays no farther reason - galvanator (20K, E). i drop EVERYTHING when this updates! ben and rey are from completely different circumstances, but that doesn’t stop a hookup from turning into something more. i feel like this fic gets their dynamic so right, and i am anxiously awaiting the conclusion in two chapters!
My comfort fic? bloom (you fill my lungs with sweetness, you fill my head with you) - akosmia (12K, T). i’ve read this again and again and i don’t plan on stopping. blind bestselling author ben solo needs a scribe. rey gets the job. there is cooking, there is domesticity, there are overwhelming emotions. my go-to.
as i’ve said before, akosmia (@kylorensx) is my all time favorite fanfic author. the fact that we are mutuals blows my mind daily. please please go read all of her stuff. you won’t regret it!

SHAKESPEARE AND THE PRETTY SPEECHES OF A KING
@ardenrosegarden @amalthea9 @lioness--hart @princesssarisa @hmmm-what-am-i-doing @suits-of-woe @malvoliowithin @noshitshakespeare
I was once watching Brows Held High review of Laurence Olivier’s Henry V (1944), where the reviewer, Kyle Kalgreen, analized how it faired in the context of British World War II Propaganda Machine,  as a Shakespeare film adaptation and in comparison to the Kenneth Branagh 1989 Film Adaptation.
There is a moment he pauses to analyze the most popular speech of the play, wich is the Saint Crispin’s Day Speech:
What’s he that wishes so?
My cousin Westmoreland?
No, my fair cousin.
If we are marked to die, we are enough
To do our country loss; and if to live,
The fewer men, the greater share of honor.
God’s will, I pray thee wish not one man more.
By Jove, I am not covetous for gold
Nor care I who doth feed upon my cost;
It yearns me not if men my garments wear;
Such outward things dwell not in my desires.
But if it be a sin to covet honor,
I am the most offending soul alive.
No, faith, my coz, wish not a man from England.
God’s peace, I would not lose so great an honor
As one man more, methinks, would share from me,
For the best hope I have.
Oh, do not wish one more!
Rather proclaim it,
Westmoreland, through my host,
That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart.
His passport shall be made,
And crowns for convoy put into his purse.
We would not die in that man’s company
That fears his fellowship to die with us.
This day is called the feast of Crispian.
He that outlives this day and comes safe home,
Will stand o' tiptoe when the day is named
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall see this day, and live old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbors
And say, “Tomorrow is Saint Crispian.”
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,
And say, “These wounds I had on Crispin’s day.”
Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot
But he’ll remember with advantages
What feats he did that day.
Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words,
Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,Warwick and Talbot,
Salisbury and Gloucester,
Be in their flowing cups freshly remembered.
This story shall the good man teach his son,
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be rememberèd—
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he today that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now abed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.
(William Shakespeare. Henry V: Act IV, Scene III)
Beautifull. Powerfull. Lie.
Because, as Kyle Kalgreen apoints, while the Laurence Olivier had to cut it to make Henry V more simpathetic, the original Shakespeare text and the Kenneth Branagh Film Adaptation have this scene following the Saint Crispin’s day speech, where the young king reads a list of the english man who died in battle:
Edward the duke of York, the earl of Suffolk,
Sir Richard Ketly, Davy Gam, esquire;
None else of name, and of all other men
But five and twenty. O God, thy arm was here,
And not to us but to thy arm alone
Ascribe we all! When, without stratagem,
But in plain shock and even play of battle,
Was ever known so great and little loss
On one part and on th' other?
Take it, God,For it is none but thine.
(William Shakespeare, Henry V: Act IV, Scene VIII)
The death nobleman are named, while the death common soldier is just ‘None else of name’. The death nobleman is ‘so great loss’. The death common soldier is ‘so little loss’. Contrary to what King Henry V promissed, not everybody who died fighting on his name in France will be considered his brother, remembered and mourned by him.
And them later, we watch the consequences of the reign of his son in the Henry VI trilogy of plays, and in Henry VI Part III, our new protagonist gives this beautifull speech about the blessing of a commoner’s life while sitting over a molehill:
This battle fares like to the morning’s war,
When dying clouds contend with growing light,
What time the shepherd, blowing of his nails,
Can neither call it perfect day nor night.
Now sways it this way, like a mighty sea
Forced by the tide to combat with the wind;
Now sways it that way, like the selfsame sea
Forced to retire by fury of the wind:
Sometime the flood prevails, and then the wind;
Now one the better, then another best;
Both tugging to be victors, breast to breast,
Yet neither conqueror nor conquered:
So is the equal of this fell war.
Here on this molehill will I sit me down.
To whom God will, there be the victory!
For Margaret my queen, and Clifford too,
Have chid me from the battle; swearing both
They prosper best of all when I am thence.
Would I were dead! if God’s good will were so;
For what is in this world but grief and woe?
O God! methinks it were a happy life,
To be no better than a homely swain;
To sit upon a hill, as I do now,
To carve out dials quaintly, point by point,
Thereby to see the minutes how they run,
How many make the hour full complete;
How many hours bring about the day;
How many days will finish up the year;
How many years a mortal man may live.
When this is known, then to divide the times:
So many hours must I tend my flock;
So many hours must I take my rest;
So many hours must I contemplate;
So many hours must I sport myself;
So many days my ewes have been with young;
So many weeks ere the poor fools will ean:
So many years ere I shall shear the fleece:
So minutes, hours, days, months, and years,
Pass’d over to the end they were created,
Would bring white hairs unto a quiet grave.
Ah, what a life were this! how sweet! how lovely!
Gives not the hawthorn-bush a sweeter shade
To shepherds looking on their silly sheep,
Than doth a rich embroider’d canopy
To kings that fear their subjects’ treachery?
O, yes, it doth; a thousand-fold it doth.
And to conclude, the shepherd’s homely curds,
His cold thin drink out of his leather bottle.
His wonted sleep under a fresh tree’s shade,
All which secure and sweetly he enjoys,
Is far beyond a prince’s delicates,
His viands sparkling in a golden cup,
His body couched in a curious bed,
When care, mistrust, and treason waits on him.
(William Shakespeare. Henry VI Part III: Act II, Scene V)
Also a beautifull and powerfull speech, if a bit revealing of a romanticized view of the poverty that Henry VI never lived. And also a lie, or, at least, a half truth for Henry VI himself.
By contrast to the Molehill Speech, here is the dialogue exchange between him and two keepers, in the next act:
Second Keeper
Say, what art thou that talk'st of kings and queens?
Henry VI
More than I seem, and less than I was born to: A man at least, for less I should not be; And men may talk of kings, and why not I?
Second Keeper
Ay, but thou talk'st as if thou wert a king.
Henry VI
Why, so I am, in mind; and that's enough.
Second Keeper
But, if thou be a king, where is thy crown?
Henry VI
My crown is in my heart, not on my head; Not decked with diamonds and Indian stones, Nor to be seen: my crown is called content: A crown it is that seldom kings enjoy.
Second Keeper
Well, if you be a king crown'd with content, Your crown content and you must be contented To go along with us; for as we think, You are the king King Edward hath deposed; And we his subjects sworn in all allegiance Will apprehend you as his enemy.
Henry VI
But did you never swear, and break an oath?
Second Keeper
No, never such an oath; nor will not now.
Henry VI
Where did you dwell when I was King of England?
Second Keeper
Here in this country, where we now remain.
Henry VI
I was anointed king at nine months old; My father and my grandfather were kings, And you were sworn true subjects unto me: And tell me, then, have you not broke your oaths?
First Keeper.
No; For we were subjects but while you were king.
Henry VI
Why, am I dead? do I not breathe a man Ah, simple men, you know not what you swear! Look, as I blow this feather from my face, And as the air blows it to me again, Obeying with my wind when I do blow, And yielding to another when it blows, Commanded always by the greater gust; Such is the lightness of you common men.
(William Shakespeare. Henry VI Part III: Act III, Scene I)
We can perceive here a condescending tone that King Henry VI has when he talks with two members of the people. He is surprised to see that they don’t believe in a divine right that gives him a “natural kingly aura”. They don’t see him as a superior, wise and benevolent saviour, but only as a man who once weared a crown, but now, without the crown, they don’t have any obligation to obey him.
And Henry VI can’t accept that.
Later, he is rescued by Clifford, Warwick and Clarence from imprisoment under King Edward IV’s rule. And when those three man offer him back the crown and title of king, he don’t refuse it to live the simple commoner life he described as more beautifull in the Molehill Speech. He accepts it. Even if he intends to let the actual work of ruling to Warwick, Clarence and Queen Margaret, he still wants the sense of superiority, the privileges and the confortable life offered by the title of king that he grew accustomed to since he was nine months old.
By justaposing those speeches and scenes, Shakespeare pulls us of the rug in our view of those two characters, who want the people to believe they are good, heroic and chivalrous kings, anointed by God himself, when in reality what anoints them is their money and their armies.
Intentionally or not, with those plays, Shakespeare was at the same being a precursor and subvertor of the Relatable Royal Trope, showing that those people with the title of kings are like us... but not really.
They feel sadness, fear, anger, love, envy and jealousie like us, but they are more rich, powerfull and privileged then us.And they don’t really  want to renounce that power, because it will take away their sense of being superior to us.
To paraphrase Kyle Kalgreen:
Beware pretty speeches
(Kyle Kalgreen. Brows Held High: This Day is Called the Feast of Crispian, a review of Laurence Olivier’s Henry V. October 26th, 2018)
Specially if they come from a person that wears the crown of a king.

But her emails...
I aim to be a woman of integrity. I’ve sat on the content I’m about to share for almost 6 years in part because it originally was a private conversation between me and a friend. A friend who happens to be a lead singer of a band, but a friend none the less. However the way people have been speaking about him and what’s been going on in the world lately, I couldn’t let this stay hidden anymore.
I’m tired of people claiming that because Patrick no longer uses social media (and hasn’t for damn near five years at this point) that somehow he doesn’t “care” or isn’t doing anything right now to help the Black Lives Matter movement. I’m also incredibly tired of people ignoring/belittling the fact that Pete Wentz is a biracial/black man in America. You really do not want the social media person in charge of Patrick’s account tweeting things out. It would be hollow and fake.
Below is both a transcript of the conversation I had with Patrick on 12/06/2014, a follow up message he sent to me 08/25/2015, and the accompanying screenshots. Unfortunately I do not have the tweet(s) that prompted me to contact him in the first place nor can I find screenshots of them to provide that context. An image of me and my younger brother Jacob when we met the band at Boys of Zummer will also be attached to demonstrate one of the people I was concerned about in my original email.
The only redactions made were my personal email address and the name of a friend I referenced. Patrick deleted his email account at some point between late 2016 and early 2017. It’s only left in these screenshots as proof for those who knew the address before to see these were legitimate messages. I hope the content reveals not only where his heart lies not only then but where it is now.
Allison White: So I caught the insanity way late, but it's a tricky spot to be in with what's going on. For most of my life, I didn't even identify with half of my race. I was raised with my mom's side of the family and it just didn't click for me. It really hasn't been until teen years and onward that I've opened my eyes to it all. And with that, I began to grow wary of authority in a way. Like I still believe that people go into law enforcement for the right reasons. The few times I have dealt with police officers personally I haven't been concerned, but I have noticed in the past few years that when I spot a police car on the road or an officer just out in public somewhere is if I look "white enough" or do I actually look like an adult who belongs in whatever space I am in. I know Trayvon Martin was murdered by a vigilante and not an actual officer of the law, but that was when I first started to fear for my little brothers. I knew both of them were the sort of young men that could get targeted and most likely justice would not be found for them. And then there comes this summer. With both the Mike Brown and Eric Garner cases coming back with no indictment, it makes it feel as if it's just open season for black people to be hunted by cops. Which is hurtful for the cops who are actually in it to protect and serve, and every citizen who now has to wonder if they are next. I hope that your cousin is doing alright. I hope that people aren't making his job harder right now. Just I know for me right now with all that's going on I am definitely on the side of the protesters.
Patrick Stump: Brief for now; I'm sorry in all that you didn't notice that I'm squarely on the side of the protestors too. That's a failure of my wording
Tumblr media
PS: The problem is that I so poorly expressed myself, people thought I was balancing the empathy to be spread across the black community and cops. That's a mistake on my part. I'm angry.
I'm angry that Mike Brown's case didn't yield enough evidence to indict. But that case was a very complicated one...Brown had just (allegedly) committed a violent crime and information was murky. As sure as I was that Wilson straight up murdered the Brown, I understood the limitations of the american Justice system given how little evidence there was. That's the unfortunate reality of justice is that it needs to be just. It needs to be 100%. We can't go in with "I know in my heart." And so that case pissed me off, but I understood it.
With Eric Garner however, this just feels so flagrant. By no accounts was he violent, wasn't he doing anything that could even be misconstrued as life-threatening enough to even imagine defending the usage of deadly force. He was cooperating and they choked him to death on camera. That's fucked up. I'm pissed. I tried to be polite and sit back and not say anything, but I'm pissed.
However, my reason for discussing the side of the police as well is that human beings are complicated. When we boil people down to simplistic stereotypes, when we create a narrative of "Us VS them," we lose sight of the humanity of it all. You can't reason with a "Them." You can only reason with a person and it works better when you remember they're people.
I don't believe in enemies. I'm not religious but I love the way Jesus preached "Love thy enemy." That's hugely influential to me. Hugely important. That's the empathy I mean.
The other night I was holding my son and I thought to myself about a black girl I used to date. And how, we could have had a kid together. Maybe a little boy. And how, that boy could (by no action of his own) be killed just for the color of his skin. Like, I've heard and read words like that before, but to actually connect with it (on as small a scale as that) was horrifying. Gutting. For a little moment I thought, all this joy and all this beauty and somewhere, someone's having a black baby boy, loving him and feeling all the same things I feel for my son. But I wondered if in between their tired diaper changes and their burpings, if they were saying a silent prayer "I hope you don't get killed by a cop." If they say it constantly because they know how possible it is. Or even if he lives to be a 100, what black man won't have an unjust run in with the law? Not to make it exclusively a male issue but seriously, how many black men are in prison right now in America? That's a disgusting thing. The young parent of a young black boy probably considers that and that's maybe the most depressing thing I've ever tried to understood. That's a horrifying thing. There really still is a racial divide in this country, and to not be black is to not say those little prayers. We live in a supposedly free country. What about the pursuit of happiness? Who's defending the right of that little black baby boy born somewhere in America to just be an adorable little baby without any pretense? And when that baby grows up, who's defending his right to walk down a residential sidewalk and not expect to get pulled over and frisked? Maybe worse?
So I'm angry. Just plain angry. But I didn't want to offend anyone so I expressed my anger in the lightest way I could think of.
I'm not sorry for having an opinion, I'm sorry I explained it so poorly that you didn't know what it was.
Tumblr media
AW: All of this is hard, and there is so much anger. You shouldn't ever be sorry for your opinions, and I am pretty sure you yourself have told people only be sorry for how you express your opinions. I wasn't upset with you or what you said, I just felt compelled to share that for me there's a knee jerk reaction to the image/idea of police and why.  This whole situation has been tough and it's been inspiring watching people across this country let their anger show and demonstrate in the streets against it. It makes me wish I was brave enough to take part in it out in the streets and not just online.
I hope this collective anger and protest leads to real change. That in 2014 we are able to do the things they were aiming for in 1964. I mean recently the full letter the FBI sent to MLK to urge him into suicide was released and it just highlights the divide between how much has and has not changed. There's a lot of value in what religion is supposed to teach. Love thy enemy, love thy neighbor. True love and care for those around you is a great thing and certainly something I'd hope people identified with.
The past nearly seven years there has been this push for hope and change. Maybe the country is finally reaching a point to make it happen?
PS: I have a funny feeling this is civil rights part 2. I'm proud of the protests. I'm so grateful our generation is angry about something it should be angry about for a change.
Tumblr media
AW: An argument can be made that our generation (or just post baby boomer generations in general) have been taught and fed nonsense to keep us compliant, but that veers into a territory that I am not completely sure or comfortable with. Overall I do think that this is heading a direction that the powers that be are not ready for in the slightest.
PS: Where did I go wrong? What do people think I said? They're so mad at me, and none of the people have said anything I didn't mean. I'm not getting angry right-wing stuff, people are just calling me a racist. What did I say that was racist? What do I think that's racist?
AW: There's a strong immediate reaction right now of if you sound slightly in favor of the officers that did wrong that you are racist. The swift reaction and need to dogpile on is kind of crazy. I think people took the initial comment to mean "not all cops!!!!" In the same vein as "not all men!!!" and that's where the rage is coming from.
AW: Just to be clear, those who matter know you're not racist. You have shown both in your words and actions where your beliefs lie. I don't know how to calm the masses right now because at least for the time being its not going to get through :(
Tumblr media
AW: You could try a blog entry on tumblr?
PS: Nah, I think I've done enough damage for one lifetime. I think I'll keep it to myself but I appreciate your talking it through with me.
AW: No problem. I am always willing to be a sounding board for that stuff if you need it.
Tumblr media
PS: I re-read my stuff; "I support our police," is the worst things said. I meant "I support the idea of police and the need for a police force we can trust on a national level," not "I support the police in NYC who are killing people and attacking protestors." That sucks.
AW: If you wanna try to clarify now you can. At least in your Google alert it only had one mention of he mess and it was a tumblr user supporting/defending you.
PS: There's no fixing it. The Internet is unforgiving I think and the reality is, I said that. I didn't mean it in the way that it so obviously sounds, but I said that. So I deserve everything I get.
AW: It will most likely go easier if you let it ride out instead of trying to go out and fight it. That just gives the "he doth protest too much" air about it. Hopefully the energy behind letting you know you said something like that will dissipate sooner rather than later. And that it won't get big enough for someone to write a story about it.
Tumblr media
PS: Yeah. It'll sound like back-pedaling and glad-handing. Anyway, thanks for talking it through!
AW: You're very welcome! Thank you for hearing out my side of it this morning.
Tumblr media
PS:  I never would've ignored your side.
AW: Which is very much appreciated
AW: I say that because in the past two weeks I have lost a handful of friends because of all of what's going on and them being unable to understand how and why their words hurt me.
Tumblr media
PS: Well that's awful and unfair
AW: It was but they were all from the "when I look at you I don't see black, I just see Ally" camp and then would go on to say things about stereotypes and "thugs"
PS: Yeah. Thug. "Oh that's so ghetto." Bullshit.
Tumblr media
AW: When someone says "thug" it's always clear they wanna say the n word
PS: Or even if they're the kind of "Well meaning," person who knows enough not to say that word, they mean the same thing
PS: "Not like you. You're good"
PS: White America just needs to know what it doesn't know
Tumblr media
PS: Or rather, understand that there are things they (we) will never understand. Not from a first person perspective.
AW: It always makes me want to scream. The erasure of identity so then the people known to them stay safe. It reminds me of something I witnessed the other day. My friend [REDACTED] from junior high is now an established lawyer. Needless to say he has been keeping up very much with the recent events. He made a post about it and one of his friends commented with "I wish you would go back to being my friend [REDACTED] and not my black friend [REDACTED]." Mind you there's no denying [REDACTED] is a black man. He can't pass in the slightest so the comment shocked and saddened me. Thankfully [REDACTED] handled it with poise and grace.
PS: If you have to say you have a "black friend," then you probably don't. That's fucked. I guess I just genuinely didn't imagine how pervasive this stuff really is. Like, Pete and Joe and I have been talking a lot today. I was under the misapprehension that we grew up in a decently inclusive area. Just come to find out, nobody used those words around me. The whole time they were heckling kids like Joe and Pete. I thought racism was this thing that doesn't happen here. It's scary how much it's come out post Obama's election. Elected officials sending out mass e-mails of pictures of watermelons. I just didn't get it. Ignorance is bliss.
Tumblr media
AW: It knows how to hide in plain sight, which is a lot of the problem. People are taught "don't be racist!!!!" Without being told exactly what racism is. People (myself included at times) aren't aware of words/phrases/ideas have nefarious ties until too late.
PS: I think we get too caught up on words and not enough on what they imply. "Thug," means a prepackaged idea of a black male. It instantly limits his perceived intelligence, his perceived trustworthiness, his perceived value to society, and his perceived prospects in life. That's so fucked. We expect black men to go to prison. Not be doctors and lawyers. When a black man is a doctor or lawyer, we treat him like such a cool novelty. When a black woman asserts herself, she's so "Sassy." "You go girl."
These little words and phrases feel harmless. They never were
AW: Those are the positives. Usually assertive black women are angry, mean. It's so fucked all around.
Tumblr media
AW: I really owe Pete for helping me be informed on Ferguson. He tweeted the hashtag the night the protests started in August and it helped me dive in. I am sure tumblr would have got me to it eventually, but seeing it from day one was a definite help.
PS: You know part of my problem? I'm just not brave enough to say what I think. I'm just scared of offending people. Pete's not. He doesn't care. That's powerful
AW: It takes a lot to just put it out there. I am not sure if I had the amount of eyes on me that you do that I would be so "fuck you I will do/say what I want" as I am. Hell I become such a shadow of myself when at work with how quiet and polite I am. I mean I am still pierced and tatted with short hair so visually I say a lot, but then I watch my speech to make us for it.
Tumblr media
(Follow up on 8/25/2015)
Patrick Stump: That is amazing and I'm very flattered. By the way; Been thinking about our conversation from a year ago a lot. The takeaway is this: Saying "All lives matter," and "Not all cops," while literally true are contextually horrendous. Really awful. In retrospect I feel pretty awful about saying both. Specifically because "All lives matter," can carry a lot of implications. Who's lives? I meant by it that Latinos and Muslims are also unreasonably targeted/mistreated/murdered by cops. But is it as systematic or blatant as it is with darker skinned Americans? Not remotely. Furthermore, as a white man, I just need to remember how fucking easy I have it. It's easy for me to preach peace and unflinching patience when I've NEVER been a victim of the War On Drugs or the aftermath of straight up slavery. So there's a lot to think about in terms of what I, a white guy, have to say and do about the situation. But not a lot I have to say about the way it feels to be oppressed to the point of feeling like less than a citizen of this country. I shouldn't have spoken about it because I don't/can't know. Well-meaning white folks get to talk about policy changes and do everything we can to help, otherwise we should get the fuck out of the way. I'm sorry, really REALLY sorry to the world that I ever said either of those things. It's more than "Fuck the police." It's "Fuck this whole system." And as aware as I'd been, I hadn't realized how complacent in it I was. Anyway, disgusted I said what I said. Sorry to the whole world for being part of the problem

‘Supernatural’ season 15, episode 15 screener secrets: We’re ‘Highway to Heaven’-ing this bitch
[everything is from this Hypable article]
This week on Supernatural, Amara returns and are angels solving people crimes now? Hypable previewed Supernatural season 15, episode 15 “Gimme Shelter,” so read on to find out more.
After a sweet and fun return to ease us back into the world of Supernatural last week, things are heating up pretty dramatically – I knew there wouldn’t be much more time for messing around.
“Gimme Shelter” sees Supernatural dip its feet into what the Winchesters currently believe is their big plan – eliminating Chuck by also taking down Amara, resulting in what they believe will be a cosmic-being-free balanced world. But first, they have to find her. Sam and Dean get a pretty good lead on her location, which results in a very interesting conversation between Amara and the boys – especially with her most favoritest Dean, of course.
Meanwhile, Castiel is persuaded into taking Jack to investigate a nearby case in Missouri – which all three adults suspect is probably the work of a human criminal – for the sake of humoring Jack and keeping him both busy and supervised. On the way home, they have a very interesting conversation of their own.

Spoiler Warning: This article contains generalized spoilers for Supernatural season 15 episode 15, “Gimme Shelter.” If you do not wish to be spoiled at all, do not read this article in advance of the airdate.
The official synopsis for Supernatural season 15, episode 15 reads:
MATT COHEN DIRECTS — Castiel (Misha Collins) and Jack (Alexander Calvert) work a case involving members of a local church. Meanwhile, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) go off in search of Amara (guest star Emily Swallow). Matt Cohen directed the episode written by Davy Perez (#1515). Original airdate 10/15/2020.
If you want to know what to expect from this week’s Supernatural, here’s 10 teasers plus 15 single word clues from our advance viewing of Supernatural season 15, episode 15 “Gimme Shelter.”
‘Supernatural’ season 15, [10] episode 15 screener secrets
1️⃣ During the filming of this episode (27 January – 5 February) Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles both spent much of the week at home with their families in Austin, a detail which was made clear on their and their wives’ public social media accounts – possibly the result of scheduled time off as they’ve mentioned occasionally requesting? The result is that the episode is weighted much more towards Cas, Jack and the murder investigation they’re chasing than towards Sam and Dean, but on the flip side, the Sam and Dean arc is more crucial to the long game of the show, so what it lacks in minutes, it makes up for in impact.
2️⃣ However, the episode still begins and ends in a grounded family group way, at home in the Bunker – one of those “we know we should be doing this together but there are Reasons we have to split up” situations. This detail, in my opinion, really speaks to the motivation of the creative team towards honoring the four leads as parts of a whole – in earlier days, this kind of episode would have been two entirely non-touching threads. This one is, if not a tapestry, at very least a braid – tied up together at both ends, and intertwined in the middle.
3️⃣ You might have seen pictures or ominous trailer footage of Castiel and Jack digging a hole at the crossroads. We all know what that means! However, don’t worry. They simply want to talk – and the demon they summon has some really interesting – and dare I say positive? – news about the state of Hell under Her Most Gracious Majesty Queen Rowena. Let’s just say the demon is actually pretty friendly… and extremely bored.
4️⃣ The two main guest stars on Cas and Jack’s side of the episode are both actors who have been briefly featured on the show before, in a couple of pretty famous episodes – one from season 2 and one from season 5. I don’t think there’s meant to be any meta or Easter Egg element to this, just the usual Vancouver casting industry cycle (see the ‘Weren’t You In Another Episode‘ reference page on the SuperWiki) but one of them is one of those cute “I appeared on Supernatural as a child and now I’m here as an adult” situations, and the other, well… the original character’s very name has become the stuff of Supernatural legend, and if I were in charge of this episode I would have put the actor in a particular piece of footwear and made sure we got a shot of it, just for kicks.
5️⃣ Castiel steps into a prayer circle when the church group members are meant to give a testimony – presumably of their journey so far and their relationship with faith. That’s what Cas chooses to share, at least – in a non-specific, humanized way – and fans of the character will be moved to hear the ways he verbalizes his own growth.
Tumblr media
6️⃣ Speaking of growth, some of Dean’s is spelled out for him in the most miraculous way by Amara. After Sam and Dean meet up with her and have a conversation about Chuck that’s ultimately a bit of a non-starter, Dean returns to ask her another, more personal question. Her response gave me legitimate chills. It’s a very weighty mic drop and the combination of the level of impact and the level of clarity (it’s entirely airtight, no room for interpretation) feels like the culmination of all the self-actualization work the show has been doing on Dean in the last four years. (I wish I could tell you Sam got a big special moment like this in the episode, but he doesn’t. Amara’s return was always going to be Dean’s thing.) Amara’s speech to Dean… it doesn’t feel isolated, like the idea of it was invented just for this episode. It feels more like concrete evidence of what the show has been trying to prove for ages. And the funny thing is, Amara is the anti-Chuck, right, and all season, we’ve learned about the version of the story Chuck thinks is good, and we’ve been told to root against that. Chuck’s version of Supernatural isn’t how the writers really feel. But I think Amara’s might be. Dean has obviously struggled to see what she tells him, all in one piece, but here it is – this was the point, laid out on the table, from the entity behind the curtain – both onscreen and off. Amara knew what she was doing, and so did the writers. This was always, always the point.
7️⃣ Even before this massive scene, Amara’s return is just great. Emily Swallow does such an incredible job with this character – she really is the anti-Chuck even without the whole writer comparison. Swallow imbues this character with such an incredible peace and stillness in comparison to Chuck’s histrionics – this was true in the way she spoke and behaved even in season 11, but this Amara also feels kindness and patience and tolerance. She radiates power, even when she’s also slightly goofy. There’s no fight, there’s no antagonism, but the boys in her presence are like little fish in a vast ocean – they quickly realise they have no real control in this conversation. The way that we leave her indicates she’ll be back and has more to say or do, and what she shared during her reunion with Sam and Dean makes me really curious about the role she’s due to play in the show’s endgame.
8️⃣ I’m not very religious but I really like the version of a church group or ‘faith-based community,’ as they say, featured in “Gimme Shelter.” Supernatural has a shaky history in terms of how the show portrays people in-universe who believe. Sometimes they’re treated like a joke, or stupid, or dangerous, or hypocrites, but occasionally civilian acts of faith are shown as great and powerful things, even in a world where we know that what they believe in isn’t strictly accurate. That concept became an even bigger question mark for me when we got the reveal that Judeo-Christian God is not only absent, but our actual villain. However, this was a really nice look at why faith can still be a framework for a good way of life – loving thy neighbor – for some people, no matter the truth about Chuck. The episode also features a callback to writer Davy Perez’ very first Supernatural episode “American Nightmare” in terms of the way that some people have weaponized faith and religion to the detriment and harm of others or even themselves, but this factor does not negate the positive point mentioned above.
9️⃣ Supernatural alum and newly minted director Matt Cohen really got the full old-school Supernatural episode experience when it comes to leaning into the spooky horror element. The murderous case-of-the week featured in this episode is heavy and lingering on the gore and even contains a little bit of a jump scare, so view responsibly.
🔟 So, um, you know that line, in this week’s teaser trailer? The line that a lot of people are freaking out about because it seems to pertain to something important that we know about Cas’ fate that Dean and Sam aren’t aware of? Yeah, it is 100% absolutely not about that at all. It is about something super important, but it’s not that. It’s also the last line of the episode, but trust me – it’s not a cliffhanger and it’s not a red herring and it’s not a twist. The information is gleaned within the episode and you’ll know exactly what Cas is telling Dean about after seeing it – narratively, that’s the reason it isn’t in the episode, because the show clearly assumes you’ll get the picture and can skip a rehash of information. But what you were probably expecting – maybe even hoping for – it’s not that. You’re gonna have to hang on for that one.
Finally, have 15 random yet significant words from this week’s episode without any context whatsoever: Gaia, Ronald, mother, pierogies, cats, philosophy, target, blind, permission, lockdown, Kool-aid, buffet, gift, trial, choice.
‘Supernatural’ airs Thursday at 8/7c on The CW

IT’S HEATHERS TIME, BITCHES.
I am listening to the Off-Broadway version, the West End version is way further down the line.
“White trash,” the students at a school with a population of like one PoC say.
I’m just thinking about EMHS because of Heather M. Once this is over, I should listen to the EMHS playlist that I put together with Robin because it’d be funny. Only problem is that it’s like 8 hours long.
The ranking goes Heathers The Musical, Illegal Heathers, Riverdale Heathers, and Paramount Heathers. I don’t take constructive criticism.
I’m 79.69% sure that in LA Heathers Heather M told Veronica to sleep with her, and I think that should’ve stayed in there.
Is Heather M a bully? Yes. Do I love her regardless? Absolutely.
The fact that it took me weeks to realize that JD and Diggy from Liv and Maddie were the same person. It blew my damn mind.
Also, I love Ryan McCartan. His Tik Toks are top tier.
Freeze Your Brain is a whole mood and a half. Coping Mechanisms! Even though he still killed three people, that’s a minor detail
I’m pretty sure the general agreement is that Big Fun is the worst Heathers song, which is valid. I don’t hate it, I just don’t vibe with it that much.
JD: You don’t need drugs if you have a nice brain freeze
Veronica like an hour later: HEY, IS THAT WEED?! I WANNA HIT!
It took me watching a boot to understand “thanks Heather, but I don’t really have to vomit right now” and when I realized it I was like “:0”
I loathe the “dang dang diggity dang-a dang” part of Big Fun because of how many people say “oh, yeah, that song from Tik Tok” when I play Heathers around them.
Where does Heathers take place? Because my understanding was that it’s in Ohio, but then she said “ride up to Seattle,” which is a bit extreme if you live in Ohio. If she was in like, Oregon or some shit, it would make sense. But you’re going to go 2247 miles to get to Seattle cause some Junior in highschool said you’re dead? Idk Veronica that’s a bit extra.
Also Ryan McCartan’s Dead Girl Walking Pronoun Showdown where you can hear Barrett laughing in the background.
*One kid dies*
Ms. Fleming: Our children are dYING!
On one hand, Me Inside of Me is a very real song. People aren’t always what they seem, and you can never know what another person’s experiences are. On the other hand, this doesn’t really apply to Heather C in the musical. There’s no evidence pointing to much hardship from what I remember. She just fucking sucked, and I love her for that.
I have a friend who likes to take my headphones and listen to whatever I’m listening to, and I was listening to Blue and I think I traumatized her.
I wish that the Blue reprise was on the soundtrack because it’s funny as hell.
Throwback to when Our Love is God was my favorite song from Heathers. It’s like 50% dialogue, but I just jammed to the last part of it on repeat.
My dad finds the “we had to hide our gay forbidden love from a misapproving world” part the funniest thing ever. He heard it once, and he hasn’t let go of it.
“Ram, you’re just unconscious, right.” WELL, IF WE WAS UNCONSCIOUS, HOW THE FUCK IS HE GONNA ANSWER?! I get that it’s a rhetorical question, but it’s a stupid one.
The instrumental at the end of Our Love is God will forever be A Bop™️
“I never cared for homos much until i reared me one” is actually just my parents. Like, literally my parents.
In the video’s of them rehearsing Dead Gay Son, Veronica and JD are confused as fuck the entire time and I love it.
Dead Gay Son 🤝Love Thy Neighbor. They’re the same song, and I still don’t take constructive criticism.
Throwback to the time I sang Seventeen with a girl on my softball team, and then we just sat there staring at each other like “woah.” And if you know anything about my team, you’ll know that we’re all gay.
I feel like it’s a crime that I don’t know all the words to Shine a Light. It’s highkey a bop.
Okay, okay, okay. One time I was playing music with my mom, and I got Killer Instinct. And my mom said “her voice is so soft, why is she not singing about the struggles of peer pressure and anxiety” AND THEN LIFEBOAT CAME ON AND I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD.
Also the way that Heather M hugs Veronica after Life boat makes me soft.
I used to scream Shine a Light (Reprise) when I felt terrible because it used to make me laugh. I pick the worst songs ever as comfort songs, and I will continue to do so.
THE THREE GENDERS: KERRY BUTLER, AARON TVEIT, AND KATIE LADNER.
I hate when people say “I don’t like Kindergarten Boyfriend because it’s so stupid.” YEAH, THAT’S THE POINT. IT’S STILL SAD. IT’S JUST ALSO REALLY DUMB.
I’ve always been confused why JD says “date to the pep rally.” That’s not typically how pep rallies work. You don’t have a date to a pep rally.
I love that in the musical Veronica starts screaming back at her mother, but in the movie, she’s just like “chill out, dude”
Dead Girl Walking: SEX!
Dead Girl Walking (Reprise): DEATH!
Which is basically the entire musical.
I’m pretty sure that there are a couple lyrical differences in the I Am Damaged from the Off-Broadway version to the West End version, and I don’t know which I prefer.
I hated Heather Duke the entire show, but I simultaneously love her. Throughout the entire show, she sucks. But she’s a good character.
I love Seventeen (Reprise) because it makes me happy. Why? Idk, it just makes me smile.
Final Judgement: The line “sleep with me” should’ve been kept in.
Okay, but actually, Heathers is iconic as fuck, I think it’s a really good adaptation of a great movie.

Bigotry towards Bigots is still bigotry. Jesus taught to love thy neighbor. This includes bigots. Love one another as Jesus loves you, try to show kindness in all that you do.
I’ve noticed that people seem to take pride in tearing people down by calling them a bigot. By doing this you are being a bigot. “Bigot” is actually not a nice word. If your goal really is to change their mind then you should use nice language. The book “How To Win Friends and Influence People” (by Dale Carnegie) proves this is true. In the first section he tells a story about a construction site. On said construction site there would be people that didn’t where there hard hats. When he asked why they complained that they were uncomfortable. He tried getting new hard hats for them so that they would continue to wear them, they didn’t. He would tell them sternly to where there hard hats, he was not very nice about it. He noticed that as soon as he left they would take them back off, clearly his way of approaching it didn’t work. He decided one day to be polite about it. He sat down with them and taught them about the dangers of not wearing a hard hat and the advantages to wearing them. After being taught about why to wear hard hats they were much more compliant and they would wear them even without inquiring of his presence. There is another instance of this a long time ago, before Jesus came to earth. It was here in the Americas. There was a king named King Lamoni. He was of the seed of Laman or Lemuel (likely both). These people are known as the Lamanites, you may know them as the Indians or Native Americans. It was the practice of the Lamanites and their fathers to go to war against each other despite being brothers (despite not being immediate family they were still considered brothers and sisters. It is according to my faith that you, regardless of who’s reading it, are my brother or my sister). There were another people living on the Americas at the time, they were known as the Nephites, they had no such practice of war. The kings of the Nephites was King Mosiah. He had 4 sons (that are noted). The prophet amongst the Nephites was Alma, he had a son who was also named Alma. They were great missionaries (Alma the younger became the next prophet). Ammon, 1 of the 4 sons of Mosiah, went to King Lamoni’s kingdom. He was brought before Lamoni to receive his judgement for trespassing. Lamoni asked what Alma was doing in his kingdom. He answered saying that he wanted to serve Lamoni. Lamoni was very shocked at his response, he had risked his life only to tell him that he would like to serve him. Lamoni respected his wishes and sent him away that he should tend to his sheep. Ammon was tending to the sheep when suddenly a foreign kingdom of Lamanites came and scattered the sheep and attacked the shepherds, including Ammon. Ammons smote off the arms of the foreign Lamanites that they can no longer attack his fellow shepherds or the sheep. By then the sheep were already scattered. The other shepherds were fearing for their lives, for if Lamoni were to learn of his sheep going missing he would have them killed. Ammon wasn’t scared and responded quite calmly. He said that they should collect Lamoni’s sheep so that they may retain their lives. The seep were gathered and they got to keep their lives. The other servants, which Ammon was not among them, went to Lamoni and spoke of Ammon’s great accomplishment. Lamoni, despite being the king, began to fear exceedingly as he thought that Ammon was the great spirit he had learned of by the words of his father, that he was there to smite Lamoni as justice for the many murders of the other servants who tended the sheep. These Lamanites scattering the sheep was a regular activity and many lives had been lost at the hands of Lamoni because of it. He realized that killing his servants who had lost his sheep was wicked and he feared Ammon because of it. He inquired of Ammons presence, he was feeding the horses. He was astonished by Ammon’s great faith, that despite having all of this power he still listened to Lamoni. He asked for Ammon to come to him. Upon Ammon appearing before Lamoni Ammon asked what Lamoni needed. Lamoni didn’t answer for the space of an entire hour. Because of the holy spirit, Ammon knew what Lamoni was thinking. Ammon asked if it was because of what he had done for the flocks that he was astonished. Ammon’s ability to perceive Lamoni’s thoughts only impressed him more. He questioned Ammon asking if he was the great spirit who knows all things. Ammon answered nay. Lamoni asked how he could know what he was thinking. Ammon said that he would be willing to teach if Lamoni was willing to listen. Ammon asked Lamoni if he believed in a great spirit. Lamoni answered positively. Ammon said that the great spirit was god. Ammon was able to teach Lamoni without any hatred in his heart despite what Lamoni had done. This story can be found in The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ: Alma 17-19. In both of these instances using kind words has helped convince people to listen. Now not everybody will always listen, but for your efforts to try to help people get better you will be blessed. I want to conclude by saying that if you really want to teach people, use kind words. Using harsh words will only make them feel bad and will harden their hearts against you. If that really is your goal, to make others feel bad and harden their hearts then that will be held against you in the last day which is coming soon... very soon. I tell you all of this because I want you to get better and to be saved. This is but a small part of my testimony and I will share some more later.
