Warning: angst with a happy ending, mention of death, Yelena struggling with her feelings and being a little dumb lol
Word Count: 3.7k
“There she is!” You giggled as the elevator doors opened, and Kate stood up to pull you into a hug. “How was DC?”
“It was a nice change of pace,” you smiled and sat down with Kate and America on the couch. “But I’m glad to be back in the city.”
“Awe, did you miss us that much?” America squeezed at your cheeks. You slapped her hands and glared at her, but there was no bite. There was something about being at the tower you didn’t have in DC. Maybe it was the simple fact they knew you for what you were now. They never saw who you were before the accident, before the Blip.
“The mission went well, I hear.” You leaned back on the couch, and your bag fell to the floor by your feet.
“Yes, it did. We kicked ass, saved the day, and looked good doing it,” Kate smirked. You rolled your eyes and flicked the girl on her forehead. The archer gasped and rubbed the spot you flicked. Her pout caused you and her girlfriend to laugh. The sound immediately died when the elevator door opened, and the Blonde Black Widow walked out. You stared at her as she stared at you - both afraid to speak to one another. Before the elevator closed, she turned around and went back in. She was not saying a single word.
“Unbelievable,” you mumbled, slumping further into the couch. I don’t even know what happened. Did I do something wrong?” The couple looked apologetic, and as Kate opened her mouth, you shook your head. You know what? I don’t have time for her,” you stood up and looked at the duo. Do you guys want to help me pack up the rest of my apartment? I know you guys just got back from a mission .”
“Yeah, of course, we’ll help,” Kate said before America could respond. The girl looked confused but shrugged and stood up.
“I mean, I was going to sit on my ass all day,” you giggled. “Might as well be an unpaid pack mule.” Kate hit her on the back of her head.
“I’ll pay you in food,” you said with a smile, but the smile wasn’t an accurate portrayal of how you were feeling. There was an ache that filled your chest. The feeling traveled across your body, making you feel numb. You understood that not everyone was going to like you. You’ve had your fair share of enemies but desperately wanted her to like you.
*
“Why do you have so many forks?” Kate asked, wrapping your silverware and putting it in the box. A moving company was stopping to gather the boxes and furniture to donate. “You are one person,” you rolled your eyes as you packed the rest of your living room.
“Just in case I had people over,” you chuckled. You heard Kate mumble, ‘That is so weird.’ You shook your head. You had extra of everything because you planned to invite your friends from DC to the city, but that never happened. Now, you were packing everything up and moving into the tower, which was still weird to wrap your head around.
Working with America and Kate was fun. They made it quick and easy and filled the time with laughter from the stories they told. Once lunchtime rolled around, you ordered Chinese food and sat on the ground because your table was gone. Still, it was fun; their laughter pushed away an ugly feeling that formed in your stomach. However, it wouldn’t stay away for long, and the couple noticed the shift in your mood when it came back.
“You can ask,” Kate said, whipping her mouth with a napkin. You wanted to ask what you did wrong. The question burned on your tongue. You felt silly for holding back, but a part of you knew you didn’t have time to dwell on people who didn’t like you. But with your scientific mind, you were curious about the sudden change. The blond seemed to scramble your brain and leave it a mess.
“Did I do something wrong?” you finally asked. We were fine before the mission, but now she is ignoring me. I don’t have—” you cut yourself off with a sigh. I don’t know what happened.” The couple shared a look. They gave you the same apologetic look as if they knew something you didn’t.
“It’s complicated,” Kate began. God, you hated that word. It was a word said when someone refused to tell you the whole truth. “It’s tough for her to open up to people with everything she’s been through.”
“I understand that,” you couldn’t image the horrors she and her sister were subjected to. “I just wish she wasn’t so hot or cold with me. I-” Again, you cut yourself off and dug into your lo mein.
“What do you almost keep saying?” America asked. You couldn’t look at them. Tony’s decision made sense. They were on a mission and needed to stay focused. The possibility of you dying would complicate the matter.
“Before you guys left, Tony told me he found a match, and I refused to use her.” You spoke slowly.
“It’s Morgan, right?” You nodded. “You are refusing to use her bone marrow even though it could save you.” You hated the way Kate said it; you even used that wording when speaking with Pepper and Tony. There was no way you were using Morgan.
“That is—” America trailed off. It was a lot of things. Crazy, insane, maybe honorable. That’s a little wild.” You laughed at the disbelief on both of their faces. “Why?” You weren’t sure how to answer that. You didn’t want someone you cared about to be in pain to save you. Or maybe you were ready for all of this to be over and to see your mom again.
“Why did you join the Avengers?” You asked them instead.
“To make a difference,” Kate said without hesitation. “To save those that need saving.” America looked at Kate with a love-sick expression that went unnoticed by the archer. You would have teased them if it wasn’t a semi-serious conversation.
“To find a family,” America said softly. I lost mine and found a new one with the team.” Kate was quick to grab her girlfriend’s hand. You nodded and closed your takeout container, no longer feeling hungry.
“In some way, Morgan and Tony are all I have left,” you began. “Now I have the team, but it’s different?” Kate nodded. I don’t want to cause them physical pain if I can avoid it.”
“Even if a little physical discomfort could save them a lifetime of emotional pain?” America questioned. There was Plan B. Plan B would save your life; if it didn’t, it was okay.
“Look, I would just talk to her,” Kate said, changing the topic. “Put your foot down and tell her the truth. It may put her out of her own head.” Or worse, it may ruin the fragile friendship you already had.
*
When you returned to the tower, you ignored your instinct to rush to the blonde’s room and demand answers. Instead, you took the elevator to the Stark’s floor. Morgan threw herself into your arms before you could step onto their floor. “Well, hello, Princess Morgan,” you chuckled and picked the girl up. Her head pushed into the crock of your neck. The beating of her heart mimicked a hummingbird.
“Morgan,” you looked at Pepper, who was sitting on the couch. You have to ask for a hug.” The young girl tightened her arms around your neck, afraid you would let her down.
“Missed her,” she mumbled. You chuckled, sat on the couch, and Morgan moved onto your lap.
“I missed you too, sweet girl,” you said, pushing her hair out of her face and kissing her forehead. She snuggled closer, and you rubbed circles onto her back.
“How was DC?” Pepper asked. Her voice was soft so she didn’t disturb her daughter, who fell asleep on your chest. You smiled as you felt her breathing and heart rate slow down.
“Good,” you whispered back. “It was strange being back. It didn’t feel like home, which was weird,” Pepper hummed and closed the laptop she was working on. She moved closer and allowed your head to rest on her shoulder, to your surprise.
“Tony said you called him in a panic after their mission,” her hand movements mimicked how you were moving your hand on Morgan’s back. “Do you want to talk about it?” You shrugged.
“I guess being in DC got me thinking about my mom, and it was my first mission, and it worried me.” You felt the CEO nod. “Does it get easier? Like, do you still worry about Tony when he leaves?” Pepper sighed.
“You find ways to distract yourself. It becomes easier to manage the worry,” she paused, but her hand never stopped drawing circles on your back. It was getting hard to fight the sleep invading everyone of your senses. Pepper was nice, felt nice too.
“If you keep doing that, I’m going to fall asleep,” you mumbled, closing your eyes. You heard Pepper chuckle.
“Nothing wrong with that, sweetheart,” she whispered. “Take a nap if you need one.”
*
Tony was thankful that Friday informed him to be quiet when returning to his floor. He stepped out of the elevator and was welcomed with the sight of you cuddled up against Pepper with Morgan on your chest. All three of you were asleep. It was rare for Tony to find his wife taking a nap. She was always working - busy with meetings or putting out fires with the press. His family was here. He tried to be quiet and grabbed a throw blanket to put it over the trio, but he wasn’t as silent as he had thought, and the sudden moment caused Pepper to wake up. “Sorry,” he apologized. “I didn’t mean to wake up.” Instead of answering, Pepper grabbed his hand and pulled him to the couch. He allowed himself to sit down behind her. The CEO rested her head against him and closed her eyes. She wasn’t asleep, just resting against him. Tony smiled and kissed her forehead. “I don’t think I’ve seen you take a nap.” Tony teased. The CEO chuckled but let out a sleepy sigh.
“Wasn’t my intention at first,” she whispered. “But I’m not sure how many more opportunities we’ll get.” It was like someone dumped ice water over Tony. The idea of how limited your time was here scared him. There was so much he wanted to do and learn. Like always, Pepper was right. With you, time was limited. Her eyes opened slightly, squinting from the harsh light. “Will you stay?” Work needed to be done - mission reports and tune-ups to his and Peter’s suit. All that could wait.
“Yeah, I’ll say,” A nap sounded perfect anyway.
*
“You are just a sore loser,” you heard Peter say as Kate had to draw eight cards in the game of Uno. You chuckled. After dinner, a card game broke out between Kate, Peter, America, Sam, Maria, and Bucky. You were pretty sure the table was going to get flipped when Maria skipped Bucky three times in a row. You weren’t in the mood to play cards. The surprise nap with Pepper brought up feelings regarding your mom. So, while the Avengers destroyed their friendship over reds, blues, and greens, you were sketching your mom.
It was a trip you and she took to the Adirondacks. She was sitting by the campfire, toasting a marshmallow for you and her. The lake you spent hours learning how to paddle board was behind her. The sun was beginning to set, and the lightning bugs were making their presence known. No matter how old you got, you loved chasing them.
You tapped your pencil on the paper. When was the last time you chased after them? You sighed and stood up from your spot on the couch. You sent a smile to Kate to tell her you were okay and walked into the kitchen. You weren’t really hungry. The idea of food turned your stomach. You filled a glass with ice and ginger ale and slowly sipped the carbonated drink.
The blonde Black Widow walked over to the counter with a plate of crackers and store-bought jello. “You didn’t eat dinner,” you stared at her and sipped on the drink. “I brought you something easy on your stomach.” She could not be serious right now. Why was she doing this? Ignoring you for one second, then showing she cared the next.
“I thought you didn’t want to speak to me,” she cringed.
“Look-”
“No,” you cut her off. “You listen to me. I don’t know what I did, but I don’t deserve it,” you dumped the rest of your drink out. “So, figure out where your head is before you speak to me again.” You grabbed your sketchbook and headed for the stairs to get to your floor so you could avoid the others, but you heard her footsteps following you.
“Hey, don’t walk away from me,” you stopped but refused to look at her. You wanted her to work for it. She walked in front of you. “Why won’t you let me explain?”
“Because I have a feeling the next word out of your mouth was going to be complicated,” you crossed your arms. “And I don’t have time for complicated, Belova. So if you want to be in my life, act like it or get out of my way.” You pumped your shoulder against hers as you walked past her.
*
“De’mo (shit),” Yelena mumbled and ran her hands through her blonde hair. That was not good, and she could only blame herself. Getting that stupid photo out of her head was so hard for her. The easiest thing was to push you away because that was what she was good at. But she had to do something when she saw that you weren’t eating. God, she was stupid.
“That was stupid.” She wasn’t sure when Natasha walked up behind her, but she wasn’t going to question it.
“I know,” she groaned, throwing her head back. Yelena heard Natasha walk over to her, place a hand on her neck, and pull her into a hug. The blonde let out a shaky breath.
“You like her, don’t you?” A slight nod was all Yelena could muster. “Then,” she was suddenly pulled out of the hug, and her sister flicked her forehead. “Get your head out of your ass and tell her.” She looked offended and rubbed the spot that was flicked.
“Why the abuse?” Natasha rolled her eyes and put her arm around her shoulders to move her away from the others.
“Look, I know how hard it is to unlearn what they taught us,” she was referring to the Red Room. “And I wouldn’t force you if you weren’t ready, but this time, it’s different.” Right. Different. It was different because of the disease that racked through your body.
“Nat,” Yelena whispered. “What do I do?” Natasha gave her sister a soft smile.
“Listen to this,” she said, placing a hand over Yelena’s heart. And no matter what happens, I’ll be right here.”
*
A knock on your door pulled you out of your simmering thoughts, and you angrily took a bite of your yogurt. You figured it was America, Kate, and maybe even Wanda to check on you. When you opened the door, the blonde was standing before you. You tried to slam the door close, but she stopped it with her arm. “Wait,” she stopped it with her arm. “Wait. Wait,” she pleaded. “Please. Just hear me out.” You sighed and leaned against the door frame. It was weird seeing the Black Widow so unsure of herself. She looked small, and you had to fight every nerve in your body to bring her in for a hug. “Can we start over?” You titled your head. She stood up straighter and held out her hand. “My name is Yelena Belova.” Your mouth dropped slightly, but you recovered and took her outstretched hand.
“Yelena,” you repeated back. A slight blush dusted her cheeks. You liked the way her name flowed off your lips. “Hi Yelena”
“Can I come in?” You stepped out of the way for her to come in. You closed the door and let out a shaky breath. Could she hear the pounding of your heart? You rested your back against the door and watched Yelena fiddle with the rings on her fingers.
“I do not know how to do this,” she said, pointing to the space between you and her. “Apologize.” You chuckled, shaking your head. “But I am sorry. I’ve treated you-”
“Like shit?” She cringed down. You took a few steps forward and shortened the distance between you and her. “Why?” It took her a moment, you and her. The silence wasn’t awkward, but your stomach was in knots.
“I also do not know how to let people into my life, but,” she closed the remaining distance between you and her. You could see every detail of her green eyes. The way the lights you had on overhead scattered across them. They reminded you of a vast, lush forest. Her eyes served as a window to her soul. Her gaze had a certain depth as if each glance revealed layers of hidden thoughts and emotions. You never saw her look so vulnerable. “But I do know I want to be in your life if you want me to be.” Her eyes glanced down to your lips but moved back to your eyes. You took a step back and created some distance between you and her. You couldn’t think clearly when she was so close. All your mind wanted to do was kiss her.
“Do you want to watch a movie together? I can make popcorn, and we can start this—” You weren’t sure what to call the relationship between you and Yelena. A friendship seemed too constricting. Besides, you weren’t sure if friends thought about kissing one another. “Over again.” Yelena smiled.
“Yeah, I would love to.”
“Go pick something to watch, and I’ll get the popcorn,” she nodded and walked over to the couch. You let out a breath that felt trapped in your lungs. You’ve never felt this flustered, this scrambled in front of someone. All of your life, you were always the one to put together. When you flirted with random girls, they were the ones that turned into a blushing mess and stumbled over their words. The sound of the microwave beeping made you jump, and you heard Yelena laugh from the couch. Her green eyes were watching you from the couch. You flipped her off and grabbed the popcorn and two water bottles. She picked Rush Hour as the movie to watch, and you happily sat down on the couch, leaving some space between you and her.
“Good?”
“Yeah, good,” you smiled. You were happily telling the truth.
It wasn’t until halfway through the movie that Yelena asked, “Can I ask you something?”
“You just did,” she glared at you and threw a piece of popcorn at you. “But yes, you can.” You watched her reach for the remote and pause the movie.
“You said to me that you don’t have time for complicated,” she spoke slowly as if she wanted you to understand every word. “Isn’t Stark looking for a match? Did he not find one?” She had to ask tonight. You sighed and picked up one of her rings. Once the movie started, she took them off and dove into the popcorn. This one was a fidget ring.
“He found one, but I refused.” You couldn’t look at her, placed the ring on your pointer finger, and spun it around. Morgan is a match, but I won’t subject her to that surgery. So we go to Plan B, which means they increase my dosage and the frequency of it. We’ll see what happens.” You expected her to yell, to call you crazy, and demand you change your mind.
“Okay,” was all she said instead. You gave yourself whiplash because you turned your head so fast to look at her. “What?”
“You aren’t going to try to convince me to change my mind or force me to use Morgan,” Yelena leaned back and placed her arm on the back of the couch. Her fingers played with the quilt threads that draped around your shoulders.
“It’s not my decision. You’ve chosen, and I can’t force you to do anything. I know the feeling very well,” she softly said. “What I can do is support you and help where I can.” Oh. That was unexpected, but that was Yelena; you were learning. You nodded and focused back on the ring you were playing with. You took it off and leaned forward to return it with her collection. However, Yelena stopped you, took the ring from your hand, and placed it on the finger that fit. “Keep it,” she said, looking it over on your hand. “Looks better on you anyways.” You weren’t sure if your body warmed up due to the compliment or the warmth that traveled to you through her hand. Yeah, she was surprising.
*
Yelena wasn’t sure when your body gravitated towards hers while the movie played. She tried to focus on the film that played on the screen and not the feeling of your thigh so close to hers. It became impossible when your body curled against her and rested your head on her shoulder. The quilt you were using now covered her. Her arm moved around your shoulders. “I may fall asleep,” you admitted quietly.
“Do you want me to leave so you can get some rest?” Yelena wanted you to tell her to stay, but she knew she was lucky you had given her a second chance. If you wanted her to leave, she could. You shook your head.
“You make a good pillow,” you mumbled. Yelena chuckled.
“Thanks for the compliment, Easton.”
“No problem, Yelena.” She hated how much her body reacted to you when her name fell from your lips.

The Runaway Distance Life Of A Little Stark chapter 20:  The Great Escape
Pairing: Tony Stark & daughter!Reader, Jarvis & tony stark, Friday & reader, Reader vs hdyra Summary: Reader Car chase from hydra agents Warning: bullets, civillians gotten hurt, guns Co author with: callikc Tag:  @venomsvl  @geeksareunique
The smoke had gone.
Your muscles hurt.
Everything was a blur.
The Gowanus Expy was flashing by in frames and you couldn't catch a single one with the speed you were going down the expressway. You only focused on holding the wheel and pushing down on the accelerator.
You didn't need to glance behind to become aware of the HYDRA agents in pursuit. There were several motorcycles coming up fast, far more agile than your car. It didn't matter what tricks it had, they would soon catch up. Your plan was to head for the underground tunnel that led to Battery.
The hail of fire still going on behind you was mere background noise now. It had simply gone on so long you no longer flinched when a shot whizzed past. But it was just as dangerous.
As the HYDRA bikes and the jet above tried firing at you, you swerved the car into the next lane. You avoided the bullets, but the car in the place you used to be wasn't so lucky. The rear window was smashed by the force and the people inside the car screamed as the driver was hit. It veered right into the side rails, almost flipping on impact.
A pang of guilt suddenly struck your heart, fearful at just how many innocents had already been hurt because of the chase. The only good side was that a police station lay to the side of the road below so help wouldn't be far for the injured passengers. Still, your chest tightened at the thought that this was all because of you and your situation. It wasn't in your control, but you hoped they would get the right help and compensation from SHIELD or even yourself for it all.
"Approaching the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel, Miss." FRIDAY informed, shaking you back into reality. "Traffic estimates are at fifteen minutes."
Tumblr media
"Dammit!" You cursed.
While the HYDRA bikes might not have trouble dodging the other vehicles, your convertible was a little more sticky to fix.
Sticky...
Your eyes lit up.
"FRIDAY, switch to sticky speed."
"Yes, Miss." She replied.
It was a little hack you had yet to test out with somebody inside the car, but the main principle was that with enough speed and elevation, the car's wheels would stick to anything whether it be cement or bricks. The tests had been successful so far, so now it was just a matter of your own driving capability.
As you approached the tunnel, you could see the budding traffic jam. Since the walls were already rising, you quickly sped through a gap in the lines, driving right up the wall.
Tumblr media
Due to the unexpected turn in events, one of the HYDRA agents following smashed right into the car in front. The rest of his friends were stunned, momentarily losing concentration and almost killing themselves in the process. Unfortunately, though, they quickly recovered.
"How the hell did she do that?!" One of them screamed into his comms.
But no one was capable of forming an answer because, once inside the tunnel, you actually switched to the ceiling, your hair almost covering your eyes as it fell down.
It became increasingly harder for the agents to get a clear shot at you because they now had to focus on driving as well as trying to follow you above. That was the good news.
The civilians inside the other vehicles seemed amazed by the scene unfolding in front of them, most of them even getting out video phones to showcase their reactions.
You couldn't resist a laugh and stuck up your middle finger to the agents below.
However, the briefcase containing the scepter almost slipped through the belt that held it to the passenger seat. You quickly reached out and let out a pained gasp as your shoulder stung from the action.
"Should've stuck to tape." You grimaced, pushing the case back into place.
-
Way above the tunnel and in the stormy skies of New York City was Tony, he and JARVIS scanning every inch of road they could to try and find you.
He knew you were heading to the tower - it was the most logical place after all - but he wanted to catch you before that, to help you in any way he could.
"Got anything, J?" He asked.
"Several posts on social platforms show Miss Stark inside the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel." The AI replied.
"Show me!"
Within seconds, a video was playing in his peripheral vision of you flipping off helmeted agents on bikes and laughing. The spark in your eyes and the way your smile was so mischievous yet amused made him feel proud. He couldn't wait to finally get to know you for real.
"That's my girl." He smiled.
- Back below, in the chaos of the city, the team leader of HYDRA's chase squad was waiting for a report.
This leader was in a hotel room not too far from the event itself. It wasn't a shabby place at all and had the qualities of a four-star. The man was sitting at the window of his room, a steaming cup of tea in his hand as he observed the thundering sky.
Tumblr media
He tilted his head, watching the briefest flash of white within the clouds. A smirk grew on his features.
"Sir!"
One of the agents' voices crackled to life on the radio situated on the window ledge.
"Report." The leader demanded.
"Sir, she's got a fancy car. It's sticking to the walls and we can't get a clear shot! We can continue the pursuit but we won't get the case like this."
"Come now, soldier, it's fine." He said with an eerily calm smirk. "Just do your job. Retrieve the case under any circumstance."
There was a pause before the agent spoke again. "Yes, sir!"
As silence filled the room once more, the team leader gently placed down his tea, his gaze fixated on the city below.
Truth be told, he didn't have much faith in the agents. They never seemed competent, not since the day HYDRA gave them to him. No one did, really. He pondered his decision for a while before his eyes drifted to Avengers Tower in the distance.
If he wanted this done, he would have to do it himself.
-
The tunnel was behind you now.
You were speeding your way down West Street, eyes stinging as the wind berated you. Unfortunately, the agents were still on your tail. They were getting frustrated by the looks of it.
"We can't chase her like this!" One was yelling to another.
"Then use the hook!" Another shouted.
You of course didn't hear a word of this clearly and had no idea what was going on until there was a very sudden and very heavy weight in the back of the car.
You whipped your head around in surprise, finding a very large harpoon-like device protruding from the trunk.
"An unknown object is constricting your speed, Miss." FRIDAY said.
You scoffed. "Yeah, I noticed. Any way to lose it?"
"Attempts to accelerate further would be futile. There is construction on Varick Street that might-"
"Okay, yep, that'll do."
With several motorcycles still dragging behind you, you eyed up the lanes on either side of your vehicle and quickly drifted to the right, successfully turning onto the aforementioned street. Just as FRIDAY said, you eyed up the construction works, a plan formulating in your head.
It was a stupid plan, but a plan nevertheless.
"I'm gonna regret this." You sighed, yanking the wheel towards the poles. The clangs of the metal colliding with the hood of the convertible made you flinch and wince every two seconds. It pained you to think of just how beat up this car would be at the end of all this.
On the bright side, your stupid plan worked.
The poles dropped and all the scaffolding above collapsed on top of the agent with the hook. He disappeared under the rubble and there was a cringeful scrape as the hook ripped itself free of your hood.
"Sorry, baby." You mumbled, patting the dashboard apologetically.
As the rest of the agents disappeared to take alternate directions, you took the momentary peace as a sign to speed up. You didn't bother slowing until a few minutes passed and you hit Greenwich Avenue near the memorial park.
You were ready to put your foot down until the HYDRA agents made their return from every opening, cutting you off entirely. Instead of the accelerator, you slammed the brakes.
There was a horrid screech as your wheels kicked up a cloud and you spun into a sudden stop, your breathing ragged and labored. You could just about see your final destination peaking above the other buildings but the HYDRA jet - which you thought had been lost at the tunnel - reappeared and blocked the tower from view.
Tumblr media
(pretend their motorcycles) Just as one had before, more motorcycles shot out hooks that embedded themselves into your car. You jumped in your seat, seeing the shining claws inches from your legs.
It had begun to rain at this point, the thunder much louder.
Your mood was dropping, the anger from the constant interruptions getting the better of you.
"Fuck off!" You yelled, hitting the accelerator again.
It didn't do any good.
The hooks kept the car in place. You were helpless.
You had no choice but to stop and watch as a large turret gun dropped from the jet above, aimed directly at you.
"(Y/n) Stark, I believe?" A patched voice asked.
It came from your radio. They had found a way in apparently. It was one of the bikers.
"No, it's Santa." You shot back with a tone laced in venom. "And you ruined my tires!"
You heard a cruel laugh.
"I'm afraid your time is up." The agent continued. "For too long you've lied your way into a second life. A life you don't deserve."
Your eyes darkened. "Screw you."
"We're going to kill you, Miss Stark. And we're going to make sure your daddy is there to see it. He's going to watch as we destroy you once and for all."
He laughed again, the sound wicked and false. However, everyone got a little surprise when an arrow suddenly pierced the armor and the guy dropped to the ground.
You looked around, eyes wide, and found yourself watching in confusion as another motorcycle pulled up to the scene. Two people were on this one, both helmeted, and one holding a bow. Their bike came to a stop in front of your car, seemingly protecting you from harm.
You knew there could only be one person in NYC that carried a bow like that. It had to be Hawkeye himself.
But the second guy - the one driving - you had no idea who that was.
Just who had come to save you?

You don’t know how long you have tossed and turned around in your bed, kicked off the blanket, brought it back, moved to lie on your stomach and whirled yourself onto your back right after. What you do know is that you can’t sleep. For shit.
Today hasn’t been an exciting day. No mission. No going out in the evening to be a friend and helper saving random people or preventing robberies. No training. Nothing. School had you busy and you were caught up in your homework as soon as you came home. You hadn’t really felt like going out and move, so you spent the rest of the night watching a movie with Steve and Sam.
Or Uncle Steve and Uncle Sam, how you call them.
Now you’re wide awake, tense, ready to kick villain ass. No villain in sight though. It’s already after midnight and you have school tomorrow – or today, depends on how you see it – and Tony would never let you go out now. Future-You will thank you if you don’t; falling asleep in class just because you had a long night being a superhero isn’t fun.
You sigh and stare at the ceiling. Future-You will also be just as annoyed with you if you lie here any longer and not catch any sleep. You sit up, jump out of bed, grab a sweater and put it on while walking to the door. Carefully, you open it and try to avoid making any sound. You peak your head out into the brightly lit hallway and check if someone’s there.
You’re alone and everything is quiet. If you ignore the slight buzzing from the ceiling lamps.
This particular silence always awakes a familiar feeling of peace in you, home, safety. Everytime you take a moment and listen to the noises of the Tower, you feel something settle inside of you. Something pleasant and cozy and warm. Home.
You sneak to the right corner on tiptoes and check again – empty. Walking down this hallway, you pass Vision’s room, reach a staircase and climb down to the lower floor. You could just take an elevator and avoid all these steps which you do during daytime but at night there are different rules. At least for you.
You like strolling through the resting Tower when it’s dark outside and most people are asleep, indulging in the calmness and steadiness it seems to offer you. You like walking past these doors, knowing your family is never far and yet there are in dreamland and you are here. It gives you the opportunity to be alone without leaving.
You walk down another hallway with a smile and take the second staircase to the common room level. You can already hear their voices. It melts your heart and turns your smile into a grin. You can hear Bruce’s voice say something and hear Steve’s and Sam’s laughs follow his words.
Without hesitation you walk around the corner and enter the common room. Steve’s eyes find you immediately.
“Hey, look who’s still up at this hour!” He says affectionately and smiles at you before putting his glass down on the couch table in front of him. You smile back and walk over to them. Beside him sit Sam, Bruce, Nat, Bucky (which surprises you, he doesn’t hang out at the Tower during night time too often), Thor, Clint and Tony.
“Is everything okay?” Bruce asks and inspects you carefully. The others have turned their faces to look at you and you can see smiles, raised eyebrows showing surprise, a wink, and a cautious look from Tony. He’s your mentor and your go-to person when you have issues, need to talk or advice or just want to hang out. He’s also always concerned about you.
“Yeah, everything’s fine” You say and stop at the table, “I just … I can’t sleep. I’ve been lying awake for hours now and I can’t fall asleep. Don’t know what to do.”
You supress the small wave of embarrassment that suddenly washes over you when you realize how childish you sound. You always tell them not to treat you like a kid (even though are a kid) and coming down here because you can’t sleep probably doesn’t help that. Especially because Tony constantly looks for a reason to force a more low profile onto you, less missions, less doing superhero stuff because it’s dangerous. You can’t really blame him; he cares, he’s worried.
But this is family, you tell yourself. They know you better than anyone. They won’t make fun of you for this.
“Tony told us you had a calm day today. Not much excitement, hm?” Steve says and gives you an understanding smile.
“Yeah.”
Without hesitation, Tony slides to the side and makes room for you. “Come sit.”
You follow his invitation and let yourself fall onto the couch between him and Bruce. Your mind quietens down as you look around into the faces of your family. It’s like they spread their wings and took you under it, guarding you from everything and everyone, giving you a reason to come home after school. Showing you what togetherness really means.
Right there, right now, on that couch, is the safest place you could ever be in. You feel your heart grow a little warmer.
“I would ask you about your day but I know tomorrow is another day of school again and it’s late enough for a weekday. I suggest you try to get some sleep now, kid” Tony says in his typical Dad Voice and lays an arm on the backrest behind your head.
You nod because you actually feel your eyelids get heavier with every passing second. Out of the corner of your eye, you see Bruce grab a pillow and put it on his lap and without missing a beat, you sink to your side and rest your head on the soft, dark blue material, face towards the group. You close your eyes.
“I know that feeling, kid. I can’t sleep either when I didn’t get at least some kind of action-“ Thor starts but gets interrupted by a laughing Sam.
“I don’t think that’s the type of excitement she meant. To get some action can have different meanings here-“
“Action is action, Falcon friend! You’re just trying to troll me but I’m not falling for that again.”
You feel Tony grab your legs and put them across his thighs, causing you to roll to your back and face the ceiling. This is better. Way better, so comfy. You keep your eyes closed and settle in.
“Guys. Would you stop talking about getting some action in front of Y/N?” Steve demands and you can hear Sam breathing in loudly to start again but he gets cut off by something that sounds like a punch against the shoulder or chest.
“Ow. Nat, that was unnecessary. I didn’t want to-“
“Shut up, Wilson. You never know when to close that stupid mouth of yours.” Nat’s scolding tone brings a little smile to your face and you quickly try to hide it, so they won’t know that you’re listening to every single word they say instead of trying to fall asleep.
Do you know that feeling when you’re so incredibly comfortable, when you can barely open your eyes but you feel so warm and cozy inside that you don’t want to fall asleep and just stretch it out a little more? That’s how you feel right now. You could listen to their friendly banter for hours.
“Guys, you’re keeping Y/N awake, she can hear you” Tony throws in. Woops, he saw your smile. Suddenly there is a hand on your forehead and Bruce’s voice above you, sounding deeper than usual.
“Y/N, this is your subconsciousness speaking. Believe me when I say you didn’t hear any of this. You are way too tired to understand a word Sam just said and you’re also falling asleep right n-“
“And you will never joke about me – I mean The Falcon, looking like a pigeon when I use my wings again” Sam throws in, changing his voice to make it sound deeper which earns him a couple of chuckles from the others, “From now on you will think it’s really uncool to make fun of the wings and instead you will be impressed by-“
“Don’t listen to those ramblings, Y/N” Bruce interrupts and brushes a strand of hair out of your face, “That wasn’t me, your subconsciousness, that was-“
“That was God speaking to you” Sam interrupts again and you hear another thud! like a punch.
“Sam.”
“Nat, you really need to stop hitting me. It’s not good for the group dynamic.”
“Group dynamic my ass” Bucky enters the conversation, “You’re the one who filled Y/N’s donuts with mayonnaise and made us all try them. That was not good for the group dynamic.”
“Also, it was mean” Clint says and takes a noiseful gulp from his glass.
He’s right. It was mean. You had spent all evening baking donuts following a recipe you found on the internet and you were so proud when you presented them to the others. Seeing the grimaces on their faces and the obvious effort not to look disgusted so you won’t be hurt was – well, hurtful. Until you found out Sam had manipulated the baked goods, of course.
You hear Sam go Hrmpf.
“Guys. If you really want to talk about stupid shit, at least try to keep your voices down. My kid is trying to sleep. She has a test tomorrow” Tony intervenes and mindlessly brushes his thumb over your shins. Your heart gets even warmer at the “my kid”.
“Your kid, hm? Didn’t know you were related” Thor teases him and you hear a snort from someone else but can’t place it.
“I’m her mentor. I brought her in. Peter is my kid and she’s my kid, too” Tony returns in a tone that doesn’t allow any more teasing but of course nobody in this room is intimidated by that.
“That’s not fair. Why do you get both of them?” Bruce asks stroking your hair and you can’t help but smile.
“Because.”
“That’s not a reason.” Bruce. “I’ve taken her with me into the lab so many times now and we have worked on Nanotechnology together and she’s practically my intern at this point. It’s only logical that I be her mentor and you are Peter’s.”
“What about me-“ Steve tries to cut in but gets interrupted by Tony.
“Bruce, with all due respect, you are a confused scientist with several doubtful PhD’s who uses Walkie-Talkies to communicate. Don’t talk to me about being logical.”
That insult is followed by a short silence.
“The group has talked about the Walkie-Talkies and we have democratically decided that they are a good idea” Bruce mumbles. The scientist sounds pouty. Don’t smile, Y/N, don’t smile.
“They are a good idea” Thor reassures him generously.
“I don’t mind them” Clint says but sounds as if he already lost interest in this conversation.
“They are fucking useless. We have phones, why do we need Walkie-Talkies?” Sam says, likely because he’s seeking revenge for the earlier You are mean-comment.
“Sam. Language. Try to behave, at least in front of the kid” Steve scolds him and you hear Bucky chuckle.
“She’s fucking asleep!”
“Not if you continue to shout like that, stupid.” Another thud, another Ow.
“We have already had countless meetings about the Walkie-Talkies, guys, I don’t have the patience to sit through that again. Let’s be professional about this” Tony says in a very unprofessional tone and you can feel him move under your calves, before his hand comes back to your shins.
“I have to agree with Bruce, though, I don’t think it’s fair that you get to mentor both of them” Bucky asserts and you can hear a smile in his voice, “You already got Peter and how I see it, there’s no way anyone’s gonna be able to take him from you. But I could teach Y/N some things that you couldn’t and I think it’d be a good idea not to be so selfish, Tony.”
Your heart jumps excitedly at his remarks, you’d love to be taught by the Winter Soldier. How absolutely badass would that be? Peter would be so jealous. He’s a little scared of Bucky – okay maybe more than just a little – but you know he’d still be jealous.
“First of all, Y/N, I can see your smile and I want you to know that I’m hurt that you’d be happy about leaving me. Second of all, Bucky, there’s nothing you could teach her that I couldn’t. She doesn’t need to know how to punch a hole in the wall, she needs to know how to use her head” Tony clips back and the smile that you didn’t realize you were wearing gets bigger.
“In Bucky’s defense, she might need-“ Steve starts but gets interrupted again. Poor Cap, no one lets him talk.
“I’d be the perfect mentor for Y/N, I’m the only one who knows more than just Earth. I could teach her about my folks and I speak Groot. It’s an elective at Asgard.”
“Thor. In what delusional parallel universe would it help her to speak Groot?” Nat asks and sounds quite bewildered.
“Did you just call me delusional?”
“Guys” Bruce intervenes, “This wasn’t an entry for a group discussion. I wanted to propose myself as a candidate for being her mentor-“
“Well, Bruce, you’re not the only one” Steve says, finally getting out one whole sentence, “Get in line.”
“No, I’m first. I’m the coolest and I know some people-“
“Sam, I don’t think she would want you to mentor her. You ruined her food so many times” Clint puts in and you hear chuckles.
“So? It was only jokes. She knows that. You are just afraid she could get too powerful under my lead.”
“She would probably lose her superpowers completely under your lead, they would rot away the longer she would have to listen to your big talk.” That was Bucky and you had to admit he has a point. Sam gasps and sounds offended.
“Guys! Nobody is taking over mentorship for her. No discussions, y’all better back off or else you answer to me. You don’t want that, believe me” Tony decides in his I-am-authority Voice and squeezes your leg.
As things go with this group, they don’t give up and proceed to throw insults and unashamed claims at each other and you follow their banter for a while, feeling your heart beat contently in your chest. And while you listen to your family remind you where your home is, you slowly fall asleep. Finally.

Headcanons for being Tony Stark’s Daughter (The Early Years)
Tony Stark x daughter!reader
warnings:
a/n: i’d like to think y/n was born around the year of 2000 in this, so around 8 when the first iron man took place, i guess this takes place all the way until right before avengers 1
prompt: y/n is tony’s daugher, takes place from about ages 0-12
The Teenage Years (2) The Intense Years (3) The Aftermath (4) Continued (5)
Tumblr media
let’s face it: tony has no damn clue what he’s doing
your mom just kind of dropped you off at his house and left
“sir, the probability of that child being yours is very high”
“yeah, thanks for that, JARVIS”
pepper and happy being confused as hell because nobody knows what to do with you
obadiah stane was even a little bit skeptical of the whole thing
“well, we can’t just get rid of her”
“maybe we should get a dna test?”
yep, you were tony’s
although he didn’t know a thing about fatherhood, he decided this was a chance to be better than his dad
NOTHING in his house got baby-proofed
pepper and happy became reluctant babysitters at odd hours
but they grew to love you
quality time with dad
“is she holding a screwdriver?!” -pepper
“yeah, uh, she’s having a lot of fun with it” -tony
as you got older, you’d randomly wander into his shop and scare the bejesus out of him
“woah! how’d you get down here, kiddo?”
tony had to get JARVIS to keep an eye on you because if there’s trouble, you’ll find it
your first word was happy
“oh, my god, she said my name! did you hear that?”
“she meant happy like the emotion”
“really? you’re gonna tell me what she meant? it’s my name, end of discussion”
JARVIS taught you how to count and your ABC’s and yes you were homeschooled by an AI and your genius father
missing your dad during his parties
but he’d take you to meetings and dress you up all nice
there are a lot of paparazzi pictures of you looking your cutest for the camera
uncle rhodey
rhodey honestly thinks you’re adorable
“tell your dad that i’m cooler than him, got it?” *fist bump*
“uncle rhodey says he’s cooler than you.”
“he said what?!”
he covers your ears when he swears
but you still hear it and you giggle
tony turned you into a hard rock fan early on
ac/dc, black sabbath, guns n roses, led zeppelin and all that
you are mini him
“y/n, i got you a present!”
“lemme see, lemme see!”
“matching black sabbath shirts! now, can you tell me who sings in black sabbath?”
“OZZYYYYYY!!!” (cue you doing the sign of the horns with ur tiny hands 🤘🤘)
he’s never been prouder
you always pick out the goofiest ties for presents and he always gets so happy opening them
“for me? you shouldn’t have.” *opens gift*
“do you like it?”
*trying not to cry at the tie with his face on it* “i LoVe It”
he wears it to meetings and brags about you
you apprentice with him in the shop
your first creation was a tiny robot that’s only purpose was to roll around and say “boo” at random
when he disappeared you didn’t exactly understand what was going on because no one would tell you
they just said he was on a business trip
their hearts broke every time you asked “where’s dad?”
the man sobbed when he came back, you were just super happy to see him
burger king run
he let you see the iron man suit
you thought it was awesome
“i want one, too!”
“maybe one day, sweetheart”
the sports car that tony wrecked was your favorite and he promised he’d give it to you when you could drive but...it’s crushed now so...
yeah so tony started getting a bit more protective over you after the iron man suit was built and made happy watch over you while he kicked some ass
(fast forward to iron man 2)
meeting natalie rushman (natasha romanoff) and watching her take down happy in half a second
“can she teach me that?”
“no.” -tony, pepper, happy
“yes.” -natalie
spectating the insanity of monaco
basically getting into your own type of trouble to “help”
maybe not the best idea to throw rocks at a bad guy
insisting on getting your own suit
“nope. no way. not gonna happen, kid.”
you flipped justin hammer the bird and earned a high five from tony
going to uncle rhodey to tell him you want to be a superhero “just like him and dad”
🥺 <- rhodey after you called him a superhero
“follow your dreams, kiddo”
you built half a suit before anyone noticed
“what did i tell you about making a suit? i said ‘no.’ god, i can’t even be mad it looks awesome, my daughter’s a genius! but you’re grounded.”
that’s all i’ve got for now

Homesick (Tony Stark x daugher!reader)
@notmeblahh I hope you enjoy it! Thanks so much for the request :)
Tumblr media
You were nesseled in a corner of a couch curled in a blanket with a hot cup of tea in your hands looking out at the Swiss Alps in the gorgeous chalet your dad rented. Your dad was on the phone with Pepper filling her in on all of the events from the expo earlier that day.
Even though your dad was an Avenger and he gave up Stark Industries to Pepper didn’t mean that your dad still didn’t have any responsibilities. He was still expected to appear at events such as technology expos, speaking at colleges all across the world, even consulting for other companies. Since he feels like he hasn’t spent enough time with you because of training with the Avengers and building the new complex, he decided this would be a fun father daughter trip.
You were very grateful to be spending this much one on one time with your father but you couldn’t help but miss the rest of your family back at the Avengers compound. They were all an influential surrogate parent along side Tony and Pepper. You had a special bond and relationship with each of them and you missed them terribly. Peter Parker was also your best friend you guys were inseparable. You guys went to the same school, you helped him train, you both had a lot of the same interests, and modified his suit alongside your dad and Peter.
“You comfortable bug? You want to rent a movie or go search for some food?” Your dad asked walking into the living room.
“No. I’m okay.” You responded quietly. You dad sat next to you on the couch. He pulled you into his arms and pressed a kiss to your temple.
“You doing okay sweetheart. Are you enjoying the expo? The chalet? Or is something else bothering you.”
“No dad. I’m having so much fun here with you but it’s when we get back here I start to get a little homesick. I love spending time with just you but I just miss everyone back home.” You said setting the cup of tea on the table in front of you. You felt guilty acting like this, while it wasn’t uncommon, because your dad has loved to show you the world and give you the beat experiences the world has to offer ever since you were around 3 years old.
“I understand. I miss Pepper and the rest of the Avengers. But I think if I remember correctly there was a way to cure your homesickness when you were younger.” You suddenly remembered what that was and tried to get out of yours dads arms. “I guess I should find out if it still works.” You suddenly felt your dads fingers move in your underarms. You squealed and then giggles started to flow out of your mouth. You tried to move but your dad had you pinned in between the corner of the couch and himself. “Well laughter releases endrophins which will make you feel better.” You dad said as he moved his hands down to your stomach.
“NOHOHOHOHO. DAHAHAHAHAHAHD!” You said trying to pry his hands off of your stomach so you could get rid of the ticklish sensations coursing through your body.
“Well Y/N there is no way that I could have cheered you up this quickly. I seem to remember it used to take a lot longer than this to cheer you up.” He said now starting to vibrate his fingers into your stomach, you were now trying more desperately remove his hands. “Wow is this really effecting you this much? I wonder if the other Avengers know about this little detail.”
“DOHOHOHON’T!” You shrieked. While the other Avengers knew about your biggest weakness and used it against you regularly, you didn’t need them to know anything extra.
You dad seemed to get bored with tickling your stomach so he moved to your underarms. You shot your arms down trapping your dads hands in your underarms. You could never stand your underarms tickled when you were younger and it hasn’t changed as you grew older. Your dad always knew what to do to make sure it tickled the most, especially on your underarms, he was lightly wiggling his fingers making you slowly melt off the couch. “Well good to know this hasn’t changed. It seems like this place has become more sensitive, I wonder if your worst spot has gotten any worse as you’ve gotten older.” He said as he removed his hands from your underarms.
You still felt the sensations under your arms distracting you from where your dads hands were going. But once you felt where your dads hands ended up you shrieked and struggled harder than you were before. You felt just a little pressure right above your knees. You urgently started kicking your legs trying to remove your dads hands but they seemed glued to your knees. You couldn’t even get any laughter to come out of your mouth because it was tickling you too much.
“Tell you what bug. I will stop tickling you if you can tell me that you aren’t homesick anymore.” He said with a grin because he knew you wouldn’t be able to get the words out with him attacking this spot. You kept trying but you could get more than the first syllable of “I’m” out because of how hard you were laughing. After awhile he finally had mercy on that spot and moved to your sides and gently dragged his fingers up and down.
“Ihihihihi’m nohohohohot hohohohohomesihihihick.” You lightly giggled out forcing your dad to stop. He simply pulled you back into his arms and kissed your forehead as you were recovering from your dads homesickness remedy.
“As much as I love having you here with me, if you want to go home I will let the pilot know to fly out in the morning. Or we can go home after the expo tomorrow. Either way I want my favorite girl to be happy.” He said as you snuggled closer into your dads chest making the most of this precious time with your dad before you are back at the compound with the rest of your family.

Title: Make a Bet (Part 3 Tutor(Daugher of Tony! Reader x Peter Parker)
Summary: Tony Stark’s hoping for smooth sailing during his party, even when Natasha and Clint make a bet on two of the youngest party goers.
Word Count: 2065
A/N: Okay….I love this a whole lot? I just really love this series, and I hope you do too! I even made an Instagram layout edit for it?? LEMME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK LOL. I hope you enjoy!
PART 1
PART 2
“Oh my gosh Y/N, that dress looks amazing on you,” Natasha clasped her hands under her chin as you stepped out of your bathroom sheepishly, clad in a gold dress that you would have never in a million years picked for yourself. If you had it your way; you’d be wearing jeans to your father’s party.
Even if it was totally different than what you would wear- having ‘Stark’ as a last name drew enough attention to you as it is- the dress was somehow classy and vintage yet effortlessly modern at the same time and made you feel like a superstar.
“Really?” you beamed, watching her fluff her hair in your mirror.
“Really, it’s perfect. You look so sophisticated and classy!” Natasha cooed, slipping a pair of heels on before tossing another pair at you. You sighed loudly as you scooped them up, your feet somehow already aching from the thought of wearing them. Natasha waited for you to begrudgingly put them on before grabbing your arm and pulling you with her.
“I know that it’s not your ‘thing’ or whatever Y/N,” you huffed in protest while she eyed you carefully, “but your father’s really hoping for this evening to go well. I know that high class parties aren’t a teenager’s first choice, believe me. At least pretend you’re having fun,” Natasha slung an arm over your shoulder while you sighed. Of course; she was right. She was always right, “Plus, we both look hot. And I’m pretty sure your precious Peter Parker will be here! How exactly have you managed to keep your study dates a secret from your father?”
Your eyes widened when she said it, a crimson blush burning your cheeks as you turned to face her. You were suddenly extremely self conscious in what you were wearing, smoothing out nonexistent wrinkles at the front of your dress. Natasha giggled while you glared at her, “Why are you so annoying?” you retorted while Natasha rolled her eyes at you once more, laughing at your comeback, “And by the way, Peter coming over to study hasn’t been a secret, Nat. Dad just… hasn’t been around when he’s been around.”
“Oh yeah, right. Hey, Clint! Peter’s going to be here tonight!” she waved Clint down frantically as the two of you stepped up to the bar, a bored expression on your face as she ordered a drink for herself.
“Twenty bucks says Y/N and Peter totally make out,” Clint said with a hardy laugh, winking at you. You groaned, looking down at the floor as a dark blush covered your cheeks. All you wanted was to crawl into a hole and just stay until the party was over. Was that too much to ask?
“What? We’re just friends, and my dad doesn’t even know about that. Sorry, but that’s not happening,” you huffed. Natasha laughed so hard she nearly sprayed her champagne all over herself.
“Just friends,” Clint snorted and the two of them laughed this time, “Alright, I’ll bet twenty dollars that they won’t make out,” you were about to thank Natasha before she added something extra, “They’re both so goddamn shy. In fact; I bet that they won’t even manage a kiss by the time this thing’s over with.”
“Natasha!” you groaned loudly while she and Clint broke out into uncontrollable fits of laughter, “Okay, okay. Quiet, my dad’s coming over.”
“Look how classy we all look!” Tony smiled widely at you as he buttoned his suit jacket, slinging an arm around your shoulder, “Thank you, for joining us. I know that these aren’t fun for teens,” you laughed as he said ‘teens’ like you were some exotic, rare creature, “Mr. Parker will be here, so you’ll at least have someone your age to talk to. Maybe the two of you will become good friends!”
Natasha and Clint stifled their laughter while you glared at them, “Sounds great,” you flashed a smile in your father’s direction while he stood with a puzzled look on his face.
“There’s Steve, I’ll be back later!” Tony gave your shoulder a squeeze before waving Steve and Sam down, joining them in small talk before people started arriving.
You noticed that the party was beginning to fill up, from friends and acquaintances of your father, to people you’d never seen before in your life. Butterflies fluttered around in your stomach as you looked around, your eyes landing on a nervous looking Peter.
“Gotta go,” you told Clint and Natasha nervously, walking backwards as you smiled nervously at them.
Natasha clapped her hands together gleefully, “Go get ‘em, tiger!” You waved her off and pulled at the hem of your dress anxiously whilst trudging over to Peter.
“Thank heavens you’re here,” you sighed dramatically, tapping on Peter’s shoulder. He jumped and whipped around to face you, a giddy smile lighting up his face. You smiled, your cheeks turning pink as his eyes widened at you.
“You look…” he gave an airy laugh while a blush burned his cheeks, a wide smile on his face as he looked at you. You laughed, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear nervously. You could practically feel Natasha and Clint’s eyes watching the two of you like hawks.
“You don’t look half bad yourself,” you smirked, gesturing to his suit. Which, he definitely looked better than ‘half bad’. Peter merely rolled his eyes, jamming his hands into his pockets nervously.
The music picked up and it suddenly felt extremely crowded in the tower, all with people you didn’t know. Peter looked around and flashed a tantalizing smile your way, “Wanna go outside?” he asked, his eyes wide and bright with excitement. It was a look that released a kaleidoscope of butterflies to flutter around in your stomach.
You laughed lightly, “Isn’t it cold out?” you raised an eyebrow while he opened his mouth to argue his case, “You know what, this party is kind of boring anyway.” Peter took this as a definitive yes and grabbed ahold of your hand to lead the way out onto the terrace.
“You know, I’m not really a fancy party person,” you said with a simple shrug, a blush warming your cheeks as Peter dropped your hand and mumbled an apology. You tiptoed across the concrete to the ledge, looking out at the busy street below.
Peter- who couldn’t stop staring at you as you looked out at the city skyline- laughed, a cloud of vapor escaping with it from the cold. He pulled himself up to sit on the concrete ledge and you did the same, leaning back against the railing to look up at the stars starting to peek out through the clouds, “My dad still doesn’t know that we’re even friends,” it was your turn to laugh, hugging your arms around your middle as you shivered from the cool air.
“Here,” Peter shrugged his jacket off and gently draped it over your shoulders, his heartbeat in his ears, “Better?”
“Better. Thanks,” you smiled over at him, but inside, butterflies were fluttering around like mad. That was like, the universal sign of caring about another person, right? Either way; the selfless act rendered you speechless for a short period of time.
“I really like you, Y/N,” Peter said quietly. Your eyes widened and your heart seemingly skipped a beat as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously, “That was a terrible thing to say, wasn’t it? And we’ve already established that we’re just friends. I guess I’m just really nervous and…Sorry. You know what? I didn’t say anything. Forget it,” he laughed, bouncing his knee anxiously.
“I don’t think it was a terrible thing to say,” you tried to ease his nerves, but you felt the same way. Your heart was beating so hard and fast that it felt like it might burst out of your chest, your hands clammy and sweaty, “I-I really like you, too, you know.” Peter sighed in relief while you laughed lightly.
You saw people push open the door of the terrace and slip outside out of the corner of your eye, and of course the two people you wanted to see the least were part of that group. It didn’t matter to you anymore, for as cliché and cheesy as it sounded; it felt like you and Peter were alone. Maybe they wouldn’t even notice you, “Wanna know something horrible?”
Peter raised an eyebrow at you while a laugh escaped your lips. You nodded over to Clint and Natasha, who were laughing and chatting with a group of equally fancy looking people, “They have a bet going. On us. Clint bets that we’ll ‘totally make out’, ” you made quotation marks in the air while Peter’s eyes widened in surprise, his cheeks burning red, “Oh, and Natasha bets that we’re both ‘too goddamn shy’ to kiss before the night’s over. Twenty bucks, can you believe it?”
“So, who’s going to win that bet?” Peter asked with a nervous laugh. You laughed as well, your heart beating loudly in your ears.
“Hopefully no one. There’s gotta be a loophole,” you tapped a finger to your chin and furrowed your eyebrows as you pondered it.
“Just kiss me,” Peter shrugged, your eyes widening and your mouth forming an ‘o’ shape. He looked over at you with his own eyes widening as if he just realized what he said, “I mean, not that we have to kiss. Just an idea. A terrible, terrible idea.”
“No, not a terrible idea,” you were stalling, for you weren’t exactly sure how to execute it all. You smirked over at him, hugging his suit jacket tighter around you, “ A wicked plan, Mr. Parker,” Peter smiled and let out a sigh of relief, causing the butterflies in your stomach to flutter around wildly. You were so close, your foreheads were practically touching.
Peter closed the small gap in between you and brushed his lips to yours in a kiss, a hand caressing your cheek. The nerves you previously felt had somehow diminished, as if kissing Peter was the most natural thing in the world. All you wanted to do was keep on kissing him.
The jacket draped over your shoulders fell off of one of your arms as your hand lingered over his cheek, a shiver running up your spine from both the cold and from kissing him.
You felt effervescent and giddy- like the bubbles dancing in a glass of champagne- as you and Peter pulled away from each other, the two of you unable to keep smiles off of your faces. Peter’s cheeks turned crimson and he looked down at his shoes, kicking them against the concrete to distract himself. You could hear arguing now, positive that it was Clint and Natasha.
With a sigh, you pushed yourself off of the ledge and managed to land on your feet without breaking an ankle. Peter followed you sheepishly as you trudged over to the two of them, both tipsy from however many glasses of alcohol they’d already consumed, “Oh, there they are! You owe me twenty dollars, Nat,” Clint announced, elbowing her in the ribs.
She rolled her eyes, crossing her arms defiantly over her chest, “You didn’t win either, it was just a kiss. If anything, you owe them twenty dollars,” she huffed, a smirk dancing across her face. You glanced at Peter nervously, who gulped and flashed a nervous smile. Talking about your first kiss with an arguing Clint and Natasha was the last thing you wanted to be doing.
“Come on! A kiss is a kiss.  They’re basically dating…Look! Y/N is wearing his jacket, so I at least get ten dollars,” Clint said with a shrug. Your eyes widened at him and your cheeks burned red with a blush. Natasha’s eyes narrowed as she looked somewhere past the two of you, elbowing Clint hard to make him stop talking.
“Who’s kissing and dating?” your jaw dropped open as your heard your father’s voice behind you, a jolly laugh following suit.
You turned quickly on your heel, “No one,” you and Peter said in unison, shooting each other nervous glances. Tony looked between the two of you with his brows knitted together, his eyes widening and his mouth making the shape of the letter ‘o’ as he pieced it all together.
You were busted.

Headcanons for being Tony Stark’s Daughter (The Aftermath)
Tony Stark x daughter!reader
warnings:
a/n: y/n is about 17 or 18; i cried while writing this. sorry this is really long!!! pls forgive me 🥺
prompt: takes place from a3 to smffh
The Early Years (1) The Teenage Years (2) The Intense Years (3) Continued (5)
Tumblr media
let’s start on a happy note! ahahah
so for a while, earth was calm
you, pepper, and tony got to be a family for a while
wedding planning!
of course you got to try the ben&jerry’s ice cream named after your dad: Stark Raving Hazelnuts
“it’s not fair that you got ice cream named after you and i didn’t”
“well, when you grow up to be as awesome as me, maybe you’ll get your own ice cream flavor”
developing nanotech suits together for a Bonding Experience(tm)
speechless after the first test
“dad, this is...”
“the coolest thing to ever exist?”
“yes!!”
yall ready for some shit?
the day that ebony maw invaded was pretty—what’s the word? interesting? no. well, yes, but...HORRIBLE.
it all started when you got the call from your dad
“y/n, incoming call from ‘big fat meanie’”
“god, i really have to change that. okay, JOSHIE, answer it. hey, dad? what’s up?”
“hey, kid! you know that weird ass building on bleecker street? how fast can you get here?”
“JOSH can you track FRIDAY really quick? lets see how far dad is...uh, okay, be there in five, see ya”
taking your suit for a spin and realizing how GREAT it was to be able to basically fold up your suit and put it in your back pocket
knocking on the door and it opened on its own, it was kinda cool
“is this a museum? cool.”
bruce turning around to see you after about three years and giving you an awkward smile and a wave while you stood frozen around the wizard-guys
“y/n, god, you’ve grown up!”
charging into him for a long overdue hug
“you don’t know how much i missed you. it’s been chaotic without you”
“i can...i can only imagine”
a debriefing on the situation you were about to face, and bonus! having to play the catch-up game with bruce
“just call him, dad. we need as much help as we can. steve will understand”
rushing outside to face off with some ugly-ass aliens
“oh nooo, it’s roger smith from american dad”
bruce: 👀, stephen: 👀, wong: 👀, tony: 👏👏🥰 that’s my girl
simultaneous nanosuit unveiling
“you ready for this one, pops?”
“of course! ive waited years to kick some more alien ass”
montage of you and tony getting your asses beat together (as a family <3)
peter showing up
“give me one good reason why i shouldn’t send you back to that school bus”
“because i’m good company?”
“whatever, just listen to whatever dad has to say, i forfeit my responsibilities over you”
pew pew, repulsors, pew, tiny rockets! fun! action! destroying new york again and again. good times...
until JOSHUA gave you notice that your dad was flying high
“call him. now.”
“hey! how’s it going down there?”
“dad, you know how i feel about you and space”
“i know, i know. i just...i gotta take care of this. keep pepper safe for your old man, okay?”
“i lo—l—ve y—”
“y/n? y/n?! i love you! shit!”
“we lost connection with her, sir”
trying to call peter
“call failed, y/n. should i try again?”
“i’m gonna kill them...”
walking through the rubble to find bruce, the only sensible man you know
taking him to the avengers compound asap to get to rhodey and figure out what comes next
meanwhile, tony was dealing with space and another teenager
and worrying a lot about leaving you on earth
“i mean, mr. stark, y/n’s one of the most capable people i know. she’s probably trying to fix this whole mess as we speak”
“i didn’t get to tell her i love her”
“oh...”
having a lovely meeting with thaddeus ross with rhodey, having a lovely time watching them passive-aggresively argue until your former teammates arrived
having to patiently (and professionally) wait for ross to hang up before running into them for a hug
“holy shit, you guys have no idea how bad i’ve wanted to see you. it sucks not being all together anymore”
“i know, y/n. we’ve all missed you.” -cap
“a lot” -nat added
bruce’s little entrance that was sure to bring some awkwardness
you, secretly freaking out about your dad
sam was the one that found you crying after you “stepped out” for a few minutes too long
“oh, y/n,” he was contemplating grabbing someone else to step in, but decided to sit next to you in the hallway, “i’m sorry, kiddo. i can’t promise you anything, but your dad is a fighter. a big pain in the ass. i think your odds are good”
laughing through your tears
“yeah, you’re right. thanks, sammy”
he gave you a little hug while you calmed down
getting to business, the ass-kicking kind
as the wise natasha romanoff once said to your father, you were being “uncharacteristically non-hyper verbal”
your mind did this funny thing...wandered into places it really should not go
the talk about sacrificing vision led to wakanda, where you had a swell time patrolling
“guys! we’ve got incoming. a lot of incoming”
well-deserved uncle/niece team up. who wouldve thought?
you would have nightmares about these aliens for years to come
“you get to die, and you get to die! everybody gets to die!”
“y/n, what did we talk about?” -rhodey
“using humor as a defense mechanism makes the team uncomfortable...”
covering the girls 😌 because we gotta have those all-girl teamups, uh-huh?
some more blasting
thor made his comeback and you just could not miss it
“hi, thor!”
you landed next to him and your helmet receded
“well, hello, miss y/n! good to see you again! my, you got taller...oh! meet my friends: rabbit and tree”
having a “what the actual fuck” moment upon seeing thanos for the first time
and flying at him from behind with a massive nanotech blade ready to kill this purple bastard
but he grabbed your arm and flung you into the dirt, that was gonna leave a mark
“i just had to make a suit when i was ten...no one stopped me, huh? i couldn’t be elon’s kid, he was a nice guy”
watching thanos snap his fingers and looking around to see dust floating through the air and thanos retreat
“rhodey? uncle rhodey?!”
“i’m right here, kid, don’t worry”
he grabbed your hand while you were dusting
“tell my dad i love him, promise?”
fading away and leaving rhodey with your last words
he was mad before anything else
all he could think about was a promise your dad made him take years back
“rhodey, you keep my daughter safe no matter what, promise?”
the avengers recooperating at the compound, waiting to figure out whether any of the space-crew survived
they had to let pepper know that you didn’t make it, she was a mess upon hearing that news
tony finally making his way back to earth
and stumbling out of that ship
“where’s y/n? where is she?!”
“tony, tony, calm down”
“dont tell me to calm down! where is my daughter?!”
“she made me promise to tell you thay she loves you”
tony knew the answer by now, he lost his mind over your death
it didn’t feel right not having you by his side, for the past 18 years you’ve been with him
after a long period of recovery, tony and pepper moved on, got married, built a home, had a new daughter...
tony made sure there was a spare room for you
he put all the things you left behind in it
there were so many photos of you in the house
and he’d show your sister, morgan, all of them. he wanted morgan to know her sister
“that’s y/n when she built her first robot. it snuck up on me a few times. it went ‘boo!’”
morgan loved the stories about you, but she didn’t understand why she couldn’t see you
“when do i get to meet her?”
“uh...maybe someday, sweetie”
after being unbothered for almost 5 years, the remaining avengers came back with a plan that was so tempting, he just wanted his little girl back
cracking under pressure and telling pepper that he couldn’t ignore this mission because it was his chance to get you back
“get her back, tony”
“you think so?”
“i miss her, too.”
and so it began, he made it his mission to get you back
peeking at the wallet picture of you on his shoulders when you were so little
tony travelling to 2012; loki’s invasion
and there you were, the sassy genius 12 year old that he missed so much
“we’ve got this, tony, we’ll bring her home” -scott
and then things went badly and also 2012 tony went into cardiac arrest and 2012 y/n dove onto the floor to tend to him
“dad? give us some room, would you?!”
2023 tony smiling at how much he missed you worrying about him and how reckless he was
but also...the mission kinda went bad so that sucked
push it a bit farther back and now tony was with grandpa stark! asking how to be a dad and all that!
he could barely stand still waiting for you to come back to him, god he missed you more than he thought
and after a bit of hard work, it was time to snap
just like that, you were back in wakanda, puzzled by the gap in time before one of dr. strange’s portals opened in front of you
and then you were in the ruins of the avengers compound
“JOSHUA, can you locate my dad?”
“i think you’ll be able to see him”
“wow, i cant believe i programmed your cocky artificial ass”
“i think you can”
seeing your dad flying high and patching into the comms
“miss me, old man?”
and then he hit the gas to get to you and when this man hugged you, you almost couldn’t let go
“i’m so sorry, y/n. god, i’m sorry. these last five years...i was so lost without you”
“it’s okay, dad, i’m here now”
getting shot at during your reunion
“son of a bitch...we’re having a family moment here, asshole!”
yes, im gonna say it again. of course i am! and.........father/daugher team-up
the last one
“peter, is that you? you asshole! i cant believe you went to space without me!”
“missed you too!”
rhodey!! cant forget about uncle rhodey!!
“you gave my dad the message, right?”
“it was your dying wish, of course i did!”
“great. don’t forget i love you, too, rhodey!”
“couldn’t let me forget it”
lest we forget that pepper joined the fight?
plot twist: (step)mother/daughter team-up
mother/father/daugher team up!!!! ultimate stark machine!!!!!!!
and then you left him alone for 5 minutes and he’s got the infinity stones and you know it’s the last time you’re going to see him and you cant decide what your next move is and you’re just frozen and you cant catch your breath and he snaps and your heart plummets
you have to rush to his side, the last time you can sit beside his tired body and let him know that its going to be okay
“hey dad, it’s okay, we’re gonna be fine. thank you for everything”
peter grabbing your hand as you both sobbed next to your dad, feeling robbed of your time with him
pepper brought you home where she told you all about the five years you missed
both of you just cried harder than you’ve ever cried before
“so i have a sister?”
morgan was so happy to meet you, she couldn’t contain herself, practically latched onto you
and she didn’t fully understand what happened to tony
you saw your new room for the first time and didn’t leave it for a while, occasionally pepper or morgan would pop in
morgan actually crawled into bed with you a few times
the funeral was one of the worst days of your life
the remnants of your young life pulled back together for one day
then you hid back in your room before you heard a knock
“who is it?”
“it’s happy”
“come in”
“hey, kiddo. me and morgan are gonna get some cheeseburgers, you wanna come?”
she really was a stark
after a long hibernation, you started to get back into the groove of your old life
but the press was brutal and harsh, you were bombarded with questions regarding your dad
it took everything not to explode on camera
you stayed in contact with the rest of the avengers, mourning your dead, keeping the support system, staying a family
it was all you could get...for now
