I think about this a lot.

How Enid puts SO MUCH effort into trying to befriend Wednesday (this scene, the snoods, attempting to shop with Wednesday for a dress) that's why their "breakup" scene hits so hard. Cause Enid HAS been trying and constantly gets shut down by Wednesday.

Enid always respects this decision of course but that doesn't mean it's not still tedious to have your (self-proclaimed) "best friend" not really make an attempt to hang out or get to know you.

That's why she's so happy when Wednesday invites her for a girls night out 🥲

So when Enid has had enough, she leaves. And Wednesday wasn't expecting this AT ALL. She just thought she'd always be there but Enid as a person is not a pushover. She knows her worth (she struggles with it but she knows at the end of the day she is worthy of good). So when she's disrespected and hurt by Wednesday's actions she'd rather get away from it than continue to let herself be hurt by her. (good on Enid for that btw 💪 know your self-worth)

Wednesday then has to sit with that realization and it genuinely hurts her. She has to deal with this loss and the consequences of her actions, and for once, "it doesn't feel good." (ep6) Which is why it's an amazing showcase that is detrimental to her character development.

To Enid's as well but moreso Wednesday for the fact, the show is about her 💀 but we do still get a really interesting moment of Enid's character development.

Enid did feel bad for what happened as she comes to understand their friendship isn't worth losing over this quarrel. Plus, she's tired of letting others defining her worth (again Enid knows she deserves better but she does struggle with it because of her mom)

So that moment where she confronts Wednesday to tell her she's no longer going to apologize for being herself is really great for her own growth :)

The "breakup" & reconciliation moment is just really pivotal in steering both girls in the right direction for their respective arcs and in intertwining the two together to really build on the foundation of their friendship…into a romance >:)) that's why we have the great makings of a slow burn hehe (and don't get me started on the hug scene 🤭)

don’t forget during the Halloween event (the one where they go to the underworld) ace asks to go check on you when ur missing without anyone asking! And tells u how scared he was that u were missing 🥺

Aaaa yes!!! He's so fond of the player. It's very cute. orz he loves spending time with them as well. There are so many times in which Ace invites the player to Heartslabyul events or it's implied he spends time over at Ramshackle. >w< but if anyone were to ask why he seems so attached to you, he would just deny it and get huffy hehe. Insisting that that's not it! Definitely not! Absolutely not!

Ace is genuinely such a good friend to have. If anyone's giving you trouble, he'd be the first to speak his mind on it. A very strong character! His involvement in Heartslabyul book is always very impressive to me because he was the only one out of all of those students to actively and outright resist and speak against Riddle's tyranny even when it landed him punishments and Off With Your Head.

It's such a powerful moment when he stands up to Riddle and gives him the reality check he needs but has never received:

Trey and Cater are near Riddle in a somewhat defensive position. They're still trying to protect and shield him because it's what they've done best in order to mitigate bad behaviors. They know it's wrong, but the mindset of "if it's mostly under control, it's okay," is easier to enable because it's much harder to tell Riddle to his face that what he's doing is wrong. All of what Ace says is true. It's a very valid point! His entire monologue is amazing, especially these parts!!!!!

There are different types of intelligence. Riddle's is very textbook and academic. He's so smart, but when it comes to things like friendship or social situations and cues he's mostly lost because he wasn't given the time as a child to explore and experience (natural) friendship like a normal child. Ace is right; it's terrible that he was raised in such a way, but then Riddle isn't entirely faultless himself. It's up to him to decide whether he wants to continue to perpetuate the cycle his mother subjected him to, just as it's up to him to decide if he wants to change and better himself. No one else can do that for him. They can tell him so, but nothing will change if Riddle doesn't recognize that he needs to reflect and improve.

I also like Ace in that chapter because he's so real and raw with his words. He doesn't sugarcoat it. He lays out the reality of the situation, acknowledges that it's not great, but also explains that just because it's a bad situation it shouldn't be used in a way to enable or excuse Riddle's actions.

Ace plays such a vital role in Heartslabyul's arc. If not for him, this confrontation would not exist and the dorm would likely still function as it did pre-overblot. He's a good friend. He'll call you out on your nonsense if he thinks it's detrimental or just isn't right and that's a very good quality he has! :D

Summary: You invited Echo to go stargazing, and hidden feelings come to light.

A/N: The words didn't wanna word this morning, so I'm very sorry if this isn't the quality that you prefer from me. Still, I hope you like it!

“You’re staring, Echo.” You say with a warm grin as you turn to look at the man sitting next to you. The man who’s supposed to be watching the stars with you, but instead has been watching you for the last ten minutes.

“Well, how could I not?” Echo asks, amusement crossing his handsome face, “I see the stars all of the time, but I only get to see you every now and then.”

You shake your head and laugh quietly, “You’re being silly. I’m not anywhere as pretty as the stars.”

“Hm. Agree to disagree,” Echo counters.

This time you laugh louder, “Alright, alright.” You grin at him, “Thank you for coming with me.” You pause, “Actually, thank you for always humoring my weird requests.”

“None of your requests have been overly weird, I don’t think.” Echo replies.

You squint at him suspiciously, “What about the time I asked you to help me look for Moon Flowers at midnight.”

He pauses, “I…got to spend time with you, and we had fun.”

You laugh and lean against his shoulder, “You’re something of a soft touch, Echo.”

“I am not!” He sputters as he bumps you with his shoulder, “I’m considerate.” He adds primly.

“Uh-huh, that too.” You say with a grin, as you settle your weight against his shoulder, “Still, I appreciate it.”

“Well, you don’t have to. I like spending time with you. You’re so much more interesting than my brothers.”

“That’s mean.”

“You haven’t met my brothers,” Echo says dryly.

“I’ve met…Fives and Jesse! I think.”

“That is true. I’m sorry about that.”

You laugh, “They’re not that bad. A little…intense, I suppose, but not hard to get along with.”

He smiles at you, “I’m glad you like them, honestly.”

“Oh? Why’s that?”

Echo flushes and averts his gaze, “Ah…not reason. I just like that my friend doesn’t hate my twin.”

“Echo?” You lean over slightly to look him in the face, “Are you lying to me?” You ask, startled.

“...maybe, just a little.”

“Oh, come on, Echo! It’s me! I’m not going to judge you for what you say.” You pause, “Oh! Is it Fives? Does he have a crush on me?”

“Fives has a girlfriend who he’s completely obsessed with.” Echo says quickly.

“Then why does it matter if I like them or not?” You prod as you lean across him so you’re able to look him in the eye.

Echo stares at you, long and hard, for a lot longer than he normally would, and then he laughs softly.

“Echo?”

He lifts his hands and presses them against your cheeks, gently squishing them. “You’re so pretty, you know that?”

“Oh. Thank you.” You reply with a bright smile. “You’re not too bad looking either.”

“I have good genes,” Echo jokes, as he loosens his grip slightly.

“You definitely have those,” You say with a laugh.

Echo stares at you for a moment, and then a quiet curse falls from his lips, before he leans in and presses his lips, feather light, against yours.

You’re so surprised that you topple across his lap and have to roll so that you’re looking up at him, your eyes wide in surprise, “Echo?”

“I suppose I should have given you some warning,” He jokes softly, as he looks down at you, his thumbs rubbing soft circles on your cheeks, “Are you okay?”

“Yeah.” You smile up at him, your face heated with flustered embarrassment, “You just surprised me. But, why did you-?”

“I love you.”

Your words die in your throat and you blink at Echo, startled, “I…oh….thank you?”

Echo shoots you an odd look, “You’re welcome?”

“I, wait. No. That’s not-” You pause and squeeze your eyes shut, “I’m sorry, that’s not what I meant to say. Give me a second to-” You take a deep breath, to settle your nerves, “Okay. You can tell me what you need to tell me.”

He watches you evenly, a small smile on his lips, “I love you.” Echo repeats, “I love how excited you get about little things, like that purple frog you got a picture of the other day. I love how you have no qualms about dragging me to help you find things that don’t exist. I love how you’re able to find beauty in everything, even things that aren’t beautiful.”

Your face heats even more, and you roll to press your face against his stomach, “Echo! You’re embarrassing me!”

“Deal with it.” He says with a grin, which softens as he brushes his hand through your hair, “I love how you’re always so happy to see me. And nothing would make me happier than you returning my affection.”

You sling your arms around his waist, “You’re asking for such a small thing Echo!”

“It doesn’t feel small.” He replies quietly, “It feels like everything.”

You don’t say anything for a moment as you tighten your arms around him, “I love you too.” You finally admit, “I have for a while.”

“Why didn’t you say anything?”

“Was…embarrassed.” You mumble, “Didn’t think you felt the same. Didn’t think you would feel the same.”

“Will you look at me? Please, cyare?”

You loosen your grip and roll so your head is resting on his lap again, he has a wide smile on his face, and you’re helpless but to smile back, “I’m glad I was wrong,” You whisper.

Echo laughs softly, “I am too.” He brushes some hair out of your eyes, “So, what do you think? Want to be my girlfriend?”

“Yes, please.” You whisper. And then you squeak as Echo effortlessly moves you so that you’re sitting on his lap.

“Good, that means I can kiss you again, right?”

And your face burns as you press it against his shoulder, but you have a grin on your lips and you nod eagerly.

I'm kind of confused about how you feel about Lydia, I didn't think there was anything negative about the portrayal. You say she was just there for a lore dump but the way I see it, she was talking about her own life, an adventure she'd been on before. I didn't see it as dismissing her as a character

The short answer is that there isn’t anything hugely wrong with that scene. But because it’s the only real scene we’ve gotten with her so far, and because she is the most developed physically disabled character in all of D20, it is not enough.

To expand on that: Sure, she was telling the Bad Kids about her life and her previous adventures. But let’s think about why she was doing that in that moment. She was there because the Bad Kids needed to know more about her embedded crystal/metaphorical chronic illness in order to solve their own personal mysteries. She is a (very) supporting character in their narrative. We don’t get to see her go on a character arc, or change, or learn more about her desires as a character. Her disability story, which is very interesting, is in the show only because it serves the story needs of the nondisabled PCs.

Now of course all stories need supporting characters/npcs, and I am happy some of them are disabled. The problem arises when there has never been a physically disabled PC in Dimension 20. So the only disability narrative we see is in service of nondisabled characters. The problem is not Lydia; the problem is that she is alone.

You might recognize this problem with other media and other marginalized groups. To use a kind of simple example, I spent a lot of my childhood frustrated that the only women seemingly allowed in fantasy or action movies were the romantic interests of male protagonists. These love interests existed to serve the story of their male counterpart (often by dying dramatically and sending the male protagonist on some kind of revenge quest). There are still plenty of movies and shows that follow these tropes, but it bothers me way less now in 2024 because we also have a ton of tv and movies with complex female protagonists. The abundance of representation is what has changed.

I think this problem is extra clear on Dimension 20 because they have gotten SO many chances to center a disabled narrative and have not. They get up to six protagonists every season, which is way more than most tv or movies get.

Compared to a lot of other pieces of media that try to add in disabled characters, Dimension 20 is doing a good job with Lydia. They haven’t hired a nondisabled actor to play her (super common in tv and movies unfortunately) and they’ve clearly worked with consultants on her. I really like, for instance, that her persistence with the crystal prevents her being magically cured, which is one of my least favorite tropes. However, there is a huge trend in Hollywood of hiring disabled consultants when they want to tell a disabled story but never actually hiring a disabled writer for a full time, credited writing gig in a writers room. The players on D20 are the writing room. Why has a disabled person never been invited there?

Imagine, for a second, that we got a Fantasy High prequel season. All the adults we know in Fantasy High are teens, and they’re PCs. Imagine a really talented performer, who uses a wheelchair, playing Lydia. Imagine the emotional scenes we would see! Imagine the insight into her psyche we would get, the way her relationship to the Crystal would be developed. That’s what the scene with Lydia in Junior Year made me long for.

(I do have some frustration about the way Kristen reacted to Lydia, and the way that fandom reacted to Kristen. I did find Kristen offering empathy to Lydia in the form of the help action sweet, but being nice to a disabled person doesn’t deserve outsized praise, because we are not objects of pity. I also think the way that Kristen touched Lydia’s neck without permission is reminiscent of the way many wheelchair users are touched and pushed without permission, which is very violating. I don’t think Kristen would have had that same reaction to Sandra Lynn, for instance. Kristen is really Going Through It right now, so I’m not particularly mad at her for doing that. But it is irritating to see fandom singing the praises of the help action without acknowledging the touching without consent that followed).

thoughts on episode 5:

when luffy returns fire on garp's ship, it was hilarious to see garp burst out into disbelieving laughter. i understand that they're leaning into the awful parent aspect of his character in this, but it's also funny seeing him unable to hide that he's actually a little proud of luffy. like hey, if you're going to be a pirate, at least you're a good one

the baratie is absolutely gorgeous! as soon as the first pictures came out last year, i was so excited to see it in person, and it did not disappoint. i especially love the little floating patios they have outside, as well as the floating docks. i would love to eat there!

mihawk is finally introduced! i love that we get to see him fighting off don krieg. i can understand why they would cut out krieg's part from the baratie arc, but as with other plot points they've cut out of the past few episodes, i like that they gave a little nod to it anyways. also, garp being the one to call mihawk on luffy gives a logical reason for mihawk to be at the restaurant on the same day as the straw hats, instead of it being an entire coincidence.

zoro and the others ribbing nami after sanji hits on her is hilarious, it feels so accurate to how actual friend groups behave. they're such children! sanji overall seems a lot more likable in this than he is in the manga, i really like him!

the scene where sanji and luffy are talking about the all blue and luffy invites sanji to join his crew is really sweet! sanji's already looking at luffy like he's head over heels for him, and that's one thing i think the cast captured really well - just how utterly adored luffy is by his crew.

when luffy tells zeff about sanji feeding Gin, and Zeff just smiles and says "he's a good kid" i just about melted. i love that he refuses to be nice to sanji's face, but is really unapologetically proud of his son behind his back.

koby's conversation with garp was well played out. i'm a little iffy about koby's character arc this season though. it seems like a good set-up for the doe-eyed, naive, kid who knows nothing about the world to realize that the organization he looks up to to protect the innocents of the world is nothing but a sham, and for him to go his own separate way, but we know that can't happen. i've always been of the opinion that koby would make a much better revolutionary than a marine tbh, and this series is bringing that out full force. but at the same time, i think i really like garp's message that yeah, the world isn't fair and it's so grating that they have to put up with the double standards inherent in a group like the seven warlords, but that at the end of the day they have to believe that the marines are doing more good by taking down dangerous pirates than the bad they're doing by turning around to the doings of the seven warlords. one piece has always done a good job at moral ambiguity, and it shows in the live action as well

also, another aspect of this conversation that i liked was garp explaining to koby that he could have been fleet admiral by now if he really wanted to, but that doing so would mean him having to compromise on his values (and for those of us who follow the manga/anime, we know that more specifically relates to taking orders from the celestial dragons), and that doing so would mean having to give up his freedom. it's a great line, because it calls back to luffy's attitude of being a pirate means having freedom. you can see that luffy and garp are both the result of taking the same ideology to different extremes. it's easy to see how they're related, and how garp's ideals had an impact as well, in the same way that shanks did.

"you could never fail me" 🥺🥺🥺 i like how iñaki played this scene. there's still a lot of room for him to grow as an actor, but i like him as luffy, and i can't wait to see his career after this. i hope we can get more seasons, so we can see him become the luffy he was always meant to be

Headcanons - Dancing

Autor's note: I just wanted to write simple moments where the reader dances with one of the members of the Bad Batch. Let me know what you think!

Tech

It happened when the two of you were alone on the Marauder repairing the damage to the ship.

Tech was playing some music through the speakers of the ship having hit shuffle on his personal playlist.

His taste in music is all over the place.

A slow song suddenly started to play, one you recognized.

A thought popped into your head.

"Hey Tech. Do you know how to dance?"

Tech stopped what he was working on, looking at you through his visor.

"Of course I do. Why do you ask?"

You don't know if you're surprised that he knows how to dance or surprised that you had initially expected him to not know.

You get up from your spot where you were mending some wires and move to the middle of the small space of the cockpit.

"Oh really? Why don't you show me?"

Tech starts to quietly protest stating that you two needed to finish the repairs on the ship.

You are stubborn though, "Oh come on. One small break won't hurt anything."

He caves pretty quickly, starting the song from the beginning again and meets in the middle of the cockpit.

You reach for him first because he always gets hesitant sometimes when touching others. You put your hand on his shoulder and hold his hand with your spare one.

He starts dancing once the two of you are situated.

He knows the steps, but it was fairly obvious he learned to dance by reading instead of actually dancing.

You quickly start to enjoy your time with him, dancing through a few slow songs that conveniently played after the first one. Tech must have done something you didn't notice.

Eventually the two of you stopped dancing for real, instead holding each other close, rocking slowly to the music.

Wrecker

He invited you to go out to a night clubbing

When you showed up you expected everyone to be there, but it was actually just him that was in the nightclub

The two of you sat in a small booth together having a conversation and drinking drinks

Eventually he stands up, “Oh I love this song! Let’s go dance.”

You are very hesitant telling him that you had never danced before.

“Oh don't worry. I don’t either.” He laughs at you, taking your hand and dragging you to the floor.

Once on the floor, he puts you in front of him facing him.

“Just move to the music” He says over the loud music.

The both of you get into a groove together, you copying what you see Wrecker doing

He is actually a great dancer, obviously have done this plenty of times

The two of you dance for many, many songs.

Eventually you find yourself with Wrecker’s chest against your back and his large hands on your hips.

The both of you laughing and grinding up against each other, deep in the moment.

Echo

Everyone was sitting around the campfire in the woods everyone celebrating after a successful mission

Tech had set up a small radio for the group playing music, and Hunter had brought out the booze for the ‘adults’

Wrecker was dancing with Omega standing on his toes, Hunter and Tech had been dancing as well

You had been pulled in to the little dancing party by Omega and you were enjoying your time with the others

The only one who wasn’t dancing was Echo

You decide to change that, approaching the lone soldier.

“Oh, I haven’t danced in a long time, I doubt I am any good anymore.” He argues

“Who is there to judge?” You grab his hand pulling him up to his feet, “Come on. Let’s see some of those famous ARC Trooper moves I’ve heard so much about.”

You pull him on to the makeshift dance floor that everyone had been dancing on

You start to get him to dance with you, his moves slow and awkward at first

Eventually he gets warmed up, practically sweeping you off your feet.

He definitely had those famous ARC Trooper moves

The two of you end up being the last ones out at night, both of you having too much fun to stop

Hunter

It was a quiet night at Cid’s bar. The music had become quite calm creating a somber environment

You and Hunter were one of the only ones in there, both of you sitting at the bar having a drink

It had been an incredibly long day, the both of you seeking time away from the rest of the Bad Batch to relax

The two of you ended up talking about dances and different forms of dances.

He asked you if you had ever been to an event that required dancing

You tell him that you had, with your school you went to when you were young.

“How about you show me how to dance then?” he offers with a small smirk on his face

You end up blushing a little with how forward he is, but you agree to take his hand and move to a free space.

He holds your waist as you put his hands on his shoulders, the two of you slowly move to the music that was playing.

The two of you continue to talk, quietly laughing every now and then

You stay like this for a while, eventually resting your head on his shoulder

Neither of you admit it till much later, but that night was probably the night the two of you had deeply fallen for each other

Crosshair

Begrudgingly, you had dressed yourself up going to the Imperial Ball that happened every year to celebrate the creation of the Imperial Army, and all Commanding Officers in Coruscant were invited.

You had stayed on the outer rim of the hall, watching the crowd

Halfway through the night, a very tall clone had snuck up behind you

“I’m guessing you’re not one for events like this either”

You jump, turning to see that it was Crosshair. You had heard about this famous, genetically modified clone, but you had never met him face to face.

“Not really no.” You respond to him which he makes a small smirk

“Me too.”

The two of you go quiet, keeping each other company while not really talking

He was dressed out of armor, wearing army regulation formal wear.

Eventually you look to him and ask him for a dance

He seemed surprised that you asked, but he took your hand, pulling you onto the dance floor.

The two of you slowly dance the formal dances together, making some very small talk.

Mostly just enjoying each others company

The two of you dance longer than you expected

By the end of the night, he asks to meet you again

May June 2023 Wk 1

Being a highly subjective assessment of one tiny corner of the interwebs. Organized by which ones (in each category) I’m enjoying most.

Ongoing Series - Thai

La Pluie (Sat iQIYI) ep 6 of 10 - It’s so damn cute. Seme is still sus... but cute. I didn’t even mind the pratfall since they clearly both wanted to take advantage of it. These two are great kissers - like MaxTul level. I am PLEASED. Meanwhile, sides have a drunken MOMENT.

Be My Favorite (Fri YouTube) ep 2 of 10? - I’m enjoying it which is fucking with my head, trash watch here!

Luminous Solution (Sat Gaga) ep 2 of 6 - Dome has aged so pretty! Do we think the café owner doesn’t want him because he is happy in love? I’m enjoying the high school story arc a lot, and I wish we were just watching that and none of the others (Dome or no Dome). I finally figured it out the actor playing Mai is from Manner of Death.

The Promise (Weds YT & WeTV) ep 10fin - Soap opera brother relationship suddenly? Also more not communicating and more separation? Just bullshit. The best part of the ep was the interstitial cat. It feels like this show dragged on forever I am so glad it’s over and I intend never to think about it again. Full review below (although I pretty much just said it all.)

Step By Step (Tues WeTV & Gaga) ep 7 of 10 - no ep this week, no idea why. It better not be because of the ZeeNew freakszoids or I am banhammering with a will. Our Skyy 2 (Bad Buddy & 1k*) eps 13-14 - skipped it this week as it concludes next week so I’ll binge all 4 at once.

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

Our Dining Table AKA Bokura no Shokutaku (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 9 of 10 - It’s just so good. I say it every week but it IS. Oh the running of the gays trope! Japan1 For us? How thoughtful. Awe, Yutaka’s confession in tiny was the best. SMILEY KISS! It took 3 BLs but Inukai Atsuhiro has finally actually kissed a boy.

Star Struck (Korea iQIYI & Gaga) ep 5-6 of 8 - Oof this is such a hard show. Too much angst. It is a complicated story worth further analysis, but it’s too much for me and I don’t wanna dwell in it. Also, sweetie, you don’t get to cockblock the boy you rejected then invite him to sleep over, I don’t care how confused you are. Good for Hanjoon for standing up for himself, but holy shizz is this hard to watch.

Vian the series (Vietnam YouTube ) - Cats are not caretakers. The neighbor is a cutie. Fun convo for a VBL - top/bottom & everything. Faen fatale showed up + a pratfall kiss and frankly I’m finding this show a bit dull now that the charm of the initial premise has worn off.

Pure Vanilla (Singapore) - 10 min short on Gaga featuring a cafe, boss/employee, friends to lovers. It’s very sweet. Bit awkward acting. I love seeing real tats on my screen. I wish Singapore would give us a full proper BL. 7/10 RECOMMENDED WITH RESERVATIONS

The Promise (Thai YouTube) - Although well acted this show dragged a too simple premise out into the ultimate manipulative miscommunication repeats of idiotic "why don’t you just TALK!?” Phu & Nan are childhood bffs through college (almost lovers) until Phu disappears. After looking/waiting for him, Nan gives up and self isolates, and the actual story takes place 10 years later. Phu’s “reason” and inability to say it out loud makes the whole show just frustrating, squandering good chemistry, and a stellar cast of multiple faen fatals (whose personalities would’ve made them better boyfriends). Seriously do not bother. What a damn waste of talent, time, and electronic bandwidth. Fatally flawed. 4/10 NOT RECOMMENDED

Okay it ended a while ago but I finished it:

Make A Wish (Thai grey) - 6 part PNR (from Sammon - Manner of Death & Triage) about a doctor who can see the dead and strikes a bargain with a wish-granting irreverent tree angel - naturally they fall in love. Stars Fluke Natouch opposite not Ohm, but who cares bc Fluke has chemistry with everybody. Once again the Thai afterlife is incredibly bureaucratic but I enjoyed the premise and the unfolding of the story (it’s not predictable but still satisfying and with nice little twist). I like that the doctor is just gay af and has a fag hag bestie and everything. The cast is excellent but the comedic stylings are too overblown and tonally off. It had sad parts and did make me cry but is ultimately happy with a great sex scene, good smiley kisses, and all the agency. 8/10 RECOMMENDED

About a stressed-out law student who family obligations force into the countryside where a series of strange encounters and misunderstandings with his hunky young farmer neighbour. Will this be an extended version of Strongberry’s Some More? Or Korea’s take on Restart After Come Back Home? I'm chuffed. Country boy meets city boy is a very underused romance trope in BL.

6/9 Boys Love Omegaverse AKA The Boys Love sequel no one asked for (Japan movie) - everyone jockeyed to release the first ABO but it looks like Japan will take it. They do like to do all things BL FIRST. This seems to just be borrowing the branding of Boys Love, showing little resemblance to either original, since it's about 4 men in an idol group. (But could go very dark with that title. Boys Love is technically the first and one of the darkest BLs ever made.) Movie+Japan = no inter distribution.

Crack AU Idea: Sam is actually a Warden hybrid and interprets Dream’s “Warden of his Prison” idea as a proposal.

So, warden hybrid Sam’s has had this crush on his human server mate Dream for a while now, and — like — they’ve flirted a bit here and there, but there’s never been any serious attempts by either party to go anywhere serious. And then Dream suggests that he become a prison warden for a new thing he needs built, and Sam agrees even if he thinks the wording’s a little cheesy. And then — through certain lines of questioning and maybe an inhuman ability to tell when someone is being honest vs lying to his face — Sam slowly manages to piece together that this prison is for DREAM.

And — well.

Wardens in this AU have. A bit of an intense mating ritual. In which one party will basically have to capture the other and then showcase that they are powerful enough to keep the other safe and in their control. And — the gesture is just so SWEET, and he starts getting giddy just thinking about it, and he’s just — so happy and excited because this is the Warden equivalent of your long time crush coming up to you and proposing a wedding with everything you’ve ever considered for a wedding, even the cheesy cringy stuff that you thought would never see the light of day. And he plays coy as well, never directly referencing the proposal for what it is as he tries to get a handle on how Dream wants this to go. How long would someone remain prisoner here? As long as it takes? Oh this is the TRADITIONAL route, where one has to MAKE the other submit, okay. Would you — er, should the prisoner eat stake from this automatic farm I designed? …Raw potatoes…? …Alright. How should the cell — that’s it? O— Okay. Okay. You want it rough. Okay, yeah. I can do that. Sam starts to think that Dream is — uh — kind of freaky, to put it lightly. He’s a bit worried that he won’t live up to his expectations, but — okay. He can give it a shot. The Prison Arc begins. Maybe some of the other members of the server ALSO think this was a really elaborate proposal. And then it starts, and the mating dance starts in earnest.

Problem is: Dream has not proposed. Dream has not intended for Sam to interpret this as any of the above. Dream might not even be aware that Sam’s a Warden hybrid at all.

They figure it out eventually, but not before Sam ends up unwittingly doing some serious damage in his attempts to fulfill his role as the more dominant partner in a customary-Warden-mating-ritual. Oops :/

Man, c!Tommy tries to visit in this AU and just gets hard turned down like, he's over here trying to get dramatic emotional closure (in a very stupid way) and c!Sam's just like "how can I get this toddler to stop bothering me b/c im trying to court a guy here and this is really a buzzkill."

c!Quackity comes by to try to torture c!Dream and c!Sam is scandalized because excuse you this is HIS partner and also Quackity already got two??? And he's not even paying attention to them??? Get out of here???

c!Bad tries to become a prison guard and c!Sam is like "no absolutely not im not inviting a cockblock in here."

Meanwhile I think Dream would actually be having a decent time? Like, he'd be a bit pissed off about some visitors getting denied thing, but he'd be getting at least 0 torture and lots of attention from Sam. I'd imagine Sam in this sorta AU would also be a bit more attentive to his needs. Like you don't want your partner dead. Sam would probably cave on the matter of food once he realized it was having long term health effects. Starving your partner is very poor form when you're trying to prove that you're capable and strong.

At most, I feel like Dream in this AU is just getting increasingly confused about what's going on and why, because Sam's actions aren't lining up with what he expected, and he's really not a fan of that.

Frequent q!Foolish defense statements and my response(long read btw):

Why are people calling q!Foolish a traitor over one lie? And why are people treating him so harshly and hating on him, in comparison to others?

I don't know why q!Foolish defenders are so adamant about that one lie, when it's clear that it's just one part of the whole issue. Arresting his friends, believing the federation over his friends, not caring all too much about what will happen to his friends, then his lie, him being purposefully deceitful when people ask him questions about what is going on. Him choosing to continue his federation work and deciding to be quiet about it. All of that adds up, all of that is the reason people consider him a traitor.

I haven’t seen anybody actually hate on q!Foolish, I’ve seen him get criticized and people(me) hoping he gets a rude awakening? Which is fair to me.

Anyway, people weren’t nicer to q!Cellbit? I know I heavily criticized q!Cellbit on twitter lmao, it first occurred to me on day 2 of him working for the federation that it could be a double game. People might be slightly harsher on q!Foolish because he’s doing this for selfish reasons, which is fine, when you don’t also harm your friends, which he did.

This is also why people are being more lenient on q!Fit, because people are waiting to see if his infiltration will help, but I, like many others, did think it was shitty of q!Fit to withhold information about q!Tazercraft from q!Forever. But mostly q!Fit is transparent about his work in the federation.

I believe people were nicer towards q!Jaiden because when she was contacted by Cucurucho, she didn’t know about q!Cellbit and q!Felps kidnapping and therefore did not know just how bad the federation is/is perceived.

Also to make it clear, no one is saying q!Foolish has done something unforgivable or unredeemable, but he deserves to face the consequences for his actions.

They didn’t take him seriously, so he felt like he had to lie! What else could he do?

I’m confused, did we watch the same thing? They very much did take him seriously, they started asking questions and when q!foolish started his empty talking, they started questioning if he was lying and asked if he did it for a cloud? No where in this situation were they not taking him seriously? Was the interrogation not a major indicator that they took it very seriously? He went into this situation already having decided to not share information and was deceitful from the beginning. Also, his lie came later when he was talking to q!Jaiden, who very much took him seriously…

Q!Foolish was always pro-federation!

Yup, but because there was trust between them, they let q!Foolish have his fun. This is also why it’s gonna be detrimental when some of them learn he was being deceitful, and he lied. Q!Foolish joining the federation would’ve been mostly fine, if he was transparent and shared information.

Q!Bad believes that q!Foolish is essentially used as a federation scapegoat and is therefore treating him much the same as before, but the trust between them has definitely taken a bit of a hit.

Poor q!Foolish, he's always been so kind and patient, even when others were killing him and bothering him. He deserves a villain arc, and to say fuck them all.

LMAO. Yes q!Foolish is a patient person, I agree, and he certainly has been very kind to others, though kind would not be the first word I'd use to describe him.

q!Foolish is an instigator. Almost all the time he's being hit or killed it's because he's actively hoping for that sort of reaction. The most prevalent example is his relationship with Dapper. q!Foolish will antagonize Dapper, and then Dapper will retaliate. It's all in good fun. It's not serious. The same with q!Bad, who is the person I know people are actually wanting to criticize when talking about this specific point. All it tells me is that you don’t understand their friendship and that you don’t understand q!Bad nor q!Foolish. Yeah, q!Bad will invite q!Foolish to a dungeon as a meat shield, but in reality, who actually tanks? Q!Bad. And that is just one example.

And if you truly believe he needs a villain arc and needs to fuck everybody over, then stop defending him and making excuses for him? It's so weak.

And a small snippet from my overview of q!Foolish in general, as it relates :)

One of the things I’ve noticed is q!Foolish is a person who rarely thinks about the possible consequences of his actions and words. This is why I hope he gets forced to face the consequences for the betrayal. I so badly want to see him handle something where the harm happened to other people and not to himself, because he can easily brush off the consequences that harmed himself, but it might surprise him that he can’t brush off the hurt he caused q!Tazercraft.

9 Days of Lancaster Day1: Late Night Texting

After a very dangerous semester at school has come to an end, many students used their free time to vacation or visit. Ruby and Yang were no exception to this trend. Their mom and dad had been delighted to have them back, and Ruby was all to happy to boast about her team’s accomplishments. However, perhaps she had gotten too used Vale.

Between the trip and stories, Ruby retreated to her room for the rest of night to relax; her social battery sapped. That was until a text notification on her scroll made her eyes sparkle.

“Hey crater face. Did you make it home safely?”

“No. Airship crashed and we had to fight grimm everywhere.💀”

“So what you’re saying is I should call you Crater Maker?”

Ruby snickered at his dumb joke. She walked into that one. “Made it home just fine. How about you?”

“Didn’t go home. Not worth the hassle.”

“Ah, that sucks. So your entire team is at Beacon?”

“Nah. Pyrrha went home. Ren and Nora went on a trip just outside the kingdom.”

“Why didn’t you go with them?”

It took a minute to get a response. Ruby was sent a photo of Jaune giving her a blank stare that had “take a guess” written all over or it.

“Right, silly question. So you’re all alone at the dorms?”

“I mean…Weiss didn’t go home either apparently. I bumped into her at the library.”

“So you’re all alone at the dorms?”

“……”

“Yeah pretty much.”

“Anyways, shouldn’t you be entertaining your folks?”

“Yang had the covered, I’m cozy in bed. It’s late.”

“Not really. It’s not even midnight yet.”

“Time works differently when parents ask a hundred questions. I barely answered half! It was fun though.”

“Do they now about me?”

“Like…your existence?”

“Rubes…😭😅”

“OH!”

“I chickened out. They now you’re my friend though! Just…not the other stuff.👀”

“Then I guess it would be weird if I visited you?”

“Don’t tell me you miss me already?”

“I always miss you when you aren’t around ❤️”

Ruby felt her cheeks get red. How could a few words on a screen unravel her in such a way? It was down right silly. Still, her heart skipped a beat seeing the next message.

“I wish you were here.”

“Get some rest; you’re being silly.”

“Ah, my heart. So cruel 💔 😭”

“Oh hush lol.”

“I wish you here too…”

“Is that an invite?”

“At this hour? My dad would murder you. Do really miss my face that much?”

“It’s a cute face with a precious smile.”

“Hmmm I’m not sure if I believe you. Do you really miss me?”

What came next derailed her thinking. It made Ruby audibly gasp as she put her scroll face down while blood rushed to her cheeks from the proof Jaune had sent her. Ruby slowly flipped her scroll and began frantically typing.

“Someone is bold tonight.”

“Too bold???”

“….I didn’t say all that.👀”

“Airships are still running. So, are you sneaking out or am I sneaking in?”

To think it only took close to two days of separation to make them both a little more than stir crazy. Then again, it had been much longer since they were alone. Ruby wasn’t even mad about his boldness, just flustered and mentally trying to reason with herself. She really didn’t want her dad to murder him, and she doubted mom could stop him from doing so. Even so, sneaking out and back was a tall order.

“I don’t think I can sneak away without someone eventually knocking on my door. As for you visiting, that’s your life Jaune Arc. I’m not going ask you to throw it away.😭”

“Fair. We’ll see each other soon enough. 😊”

“DON’T ACT CUTE AFTER WHAT YOU SENT! I ALMOST YELLED!”

“Haha, my bad. Anyways, I’ll stop distracting you for now. Luv ya Rubes.”

“Luv you too and stuff. ❤️”

Ruby put her head face down in her pillow and groaned. She was both very proud and disappointed in herself. Darn the adorkable dummy! She had gone to bed rest and now she trying not kick her feet and smile. Jaune had never been bold before. It was kinda nice. Maybe being separated had its merits? Although…

Wrecker was impatient, tapping his foot as he waited for Hunter and Tech. “If you two don’t hurry up, I’m going without you!” He bellowed towards the communal ‘freshets. “Geez Wreck, I think some of the guys ten levels up didn’t her you!” Fives complained, leaning into the corridor. “Ah, sorry Fives,” Wrecker apologized, “They are taking forever,” “Just messing with you,” Fives grinned, “and good luck,” “Thanks!” Wrecker said, brightly as Fives disappeared back into his bunkroom. Tech appeared just after Fives left, ”There is no need to disturb the entire building, Wrecker. We have sufficient time to travel to the office before they close,” “Yeah but if we aren’t back before Omega is done with training,” Wrecker began. “She’ll just go harass Rex or Cody or some of their boys,” Hunter said, joining them. “Ready to go?” “Am I not invited?” Crosshair drawled from where he was leaning in the door to their bunkroom. “We did not think that it would be something you would be interested in,” Tech responded. “Why not?” Crosshair asked. “Because you are a crotchety old pain in the shebs,”Fives poked his head out again. “Shut up, or I’ll give you a pain in the shebs, “ Crosshair answered. “Not now, you two,” Hunter stepped in between what was sure to become yet another snark battle between the two. “Cross, if you are going let’s go”

You weren’t sure what to expect, going to Right to Love. Other than you didn’t want to go to the clubs and compete with the perfectly pretty dolls that lurked there for all of the male attention. You had gone, of course. And had your fair share of fun. But you realized it was at best a haphazard way to meet someone when you were looking for a partner in life. You had gone in the week before, filled the profile out and been interviewed. You had gotten the information packet and had read through it twice. You expected to get a call, which you did. But they were calling for you to come in. Special circumstances he had said. “Don’t worry, just Isa would like to have time to talk with you. She is very excited.” So here you were walking back into the building the next day after you had managed to get away from your family's bakery.

You are greeted by the same man as last time, a clone with long curls he wore down and a warm smile.

“Good to see you,” he said, “Come this way, please,”

He led you to an office, with many holos on the walls and desk. The lady, Isa you remembered, stood as you entered.

“Hello!” she says, excited tone to her voice and her eyes lighting up. “Have a seat while we talk,” she motions to a pair of chairs by the window.

Isa picks up a datapad and follows you over, taking the other seat.

“I don't understand,” you say, “I thought I would be getting a phone call,”

“Typically, yes,” Isa nods. “But there is the rare special circumstance. Just want to verify a couple of things first. We already talked about the possibility of someone still active in the GAR? Someone that might have to go off planet for periods of time?”

Now that wasn't something you had considered. Even though the war was over, plenty of men went into dangerous situations as the republic tried to rid the galaxy of slavery. Even the ones on planet had to venture to parts of the lower levels in their line of work.

“I believe I would be able to,” you respond.

“As a note I'd like to highly recommend therapy with someone who specializes in this specific area should your match be successful and you end up in a long term relationship with someone in this level of danger,” Isa said, “Even in the short term you may want to discuss this with a typical therapist. I am sending some recommendations and other resources to you now,”

You remind yourself that they liked to be overly cautious, and make sure you have all the resources that you could possibility need. And then you nod for her to continue.

She smiles brightly, “So let me tell you about him. His name is Wrecker, and he's definitely special. He was part of a particular,” she paused, a look of distaste on her face as she searched for a word, “Program where the Kaminoans discovered differences in some and enhanced those differences to be beneficial as a solider. More specialized than just slightly more muscle mass,”

“Such as?” you ask.

“Well, with this particular man...significantly more muscle mass. Also quite a bit taller than average,” Isa explained. “Also, due to injury he has significant scaring and a cybernetic eye,”

“Okay,” you answer, having expected the possibility of scars and prosthetics and the like due to the nature of war.

“As you know, due to some updates in policy we utilize holos now,” She scrolled through her data pad to bring up the holo she was looking for.

You expected the image of someone very gruff, worn. When she handed you the data pad to show you his image you let out an involuntary “Oh!”

The man in the image radiated a kindness that surprised you. Somehow he even managed to make his cybernetic eye convey warmth.

You look up at Isa and ask, “When?”

“So... how did it go?” Hardcase asked Wrecker in the mess the next evening when he came in from his patrol.

Wrecker shrugged, “About the same as everyone said, form work, a lot of talking. The people there are nice,”

“Unlike some people,”Crosshair said, joining them on the other side of Wrecker and looking pointedly at Fives.

“Only you don't me, everyone else...”Fives began.

“Thinks you are obnoxious and a pain,” Kix cut in.

“You're siding with him?!?” Fives exclaimed.

“Well,he's not wrong,”Echo added.

“I think you're nice, Fives!” Hardcase said.

“You're more obnoxious than him,” Crosshair pointed out.

Hardcase smiled, “Yes, yes I am,”

“I think you're nice!” both Tup and Wrecker joined in.

“That's because you two are too sweet for your own good,” Jesse “Don't look at me,” Dogma said, “I think all of you are obnoxious,”

“I concur,”Tech agreed as he and Hunter joined the table.

Wrecker's com beeped, he looked at it and saw who it was and paused.

A chorus of “ooooo” went around the table.

“You better get that,” Crosshair said in a sing-song way.

Wrecker nodded and answered,”Hello?”

“Hello Wrecker, this is Greatheart from Right to Love. I was calling to tell you about a match,”

oh, i watched pixar's elemental this weekend. it was okay? not a bad movie, but not great by pixar's standards IMHO. what did everyone else think?

more random thoughts under the cut

i've been trying to isolate why i was so "meh" on the movie. tbh i purposefully ignored marketing for it because the premise of people with element-based affinities seemed stale to me, so i had no idea what to expect going in.

the opening scene is a couple having an immigration official change their names, and i was like, oh. okay. good news: it's not a ~metaphor~ a la zootropolis, it's just straight up a story about an immigrant family. when i briefly scrolled reviews, this seemed to be the element (HA) people identified with most, and i think the parts with ember's family were definitely the most compelling..... but i also felt like all the other plot elements really detracted from it. "watered it down," if you will

like: the first half of the movie is straight up just ember trying to hide a safety violation report in a series of weird fetch quests. the second half is her dating and trying to fix a canal leak. she has to do this all herself with help from her boyfriend because ???? reasons. she admits 3/4 through the film she doesn't want to run the shop and wants to be an artist but this is barely foreshadowed because the movie has to waste run time on her trying to undo citations and having convoluted conversations about canals (WHO IS THE AUDIENCE FOR THIS). her having a bad temper and not being able to connect with other people is introduced as her character arc, but this.... mostly just gets dropped as soon as she's dating wade

speaking of wade: i thought he was annoying at first, then warmed up to him, and then he gave a speech to ember in front of all her family and friends and god after she'd told him to fuck off that ends "...and i think you love me too." i know movies function under different standards of what's romantic or not, but this is shit behavior. she told you that you don't understand why she has to do something, so you showed up to stop her from doing it, in public so everyone she knows see to, and i'm supposed to understand this as romantic? wtf? let ember have her own agency and come to this conclusion herself. if you need wade to be there, have her mom extend an olive branch by having invited him or something so he's secretly off screen. why did you have a scene of the water guy telling her how she feels?

one thing i keep going back and forth on in my mind is the way the movie handles xenophobia/racism/ableism* because it's constantly there but it's barely engaged with. and if this were just someone telling their story, i don't think you HAVE to engage with it too much? but this is a fantasy kids' movie, and we barely see any of it, like, addressed. because it's not addressed/engaged with much, ember yelling at wade that he doesn't understand her life rings a little more hollow than it should have, imho.

also there being no consequences to a fire and water person touching is a coward's move

*tacked ableism on here because, while i don't think this was the intention of the movie, the way the city is built in a way that is actively harmful to fire people and refuses to accommodate their bodies definitely reads as ableist to me

Favorite sibling moments that made me fall in love with The Bad Batch during their TCW Arc - "Unfinished Business"

Not nearly as much screen time with the Batch this episode, but some of the greatest gems (if ya know, ya know)

"Please tell me we are blowing something up" Hunter's very subtle chuckle

Crosshair narrowing his eyes at Anakin like "please for the love of god just let him blow something up"

Hunter and Crosshair's looks between each other when Hunter says "And the regs think we take risks"

"Tech, can you rig an interface?" "I assume that's a rhetorical question" Tech babe he's only been around you for a day stop sassing your future bestie

The teamwork between Tech and Echo while rigging the signal - they weren't even a squad yet but they flowed together so seamlessly

Hunter and Tech's looks when Echo explains his plan

"Was there ever any doubt?" "Some" TECH. HON. 😂 Be nice to your future bestie!

Wrecker handing Hunter his rifle with no words and Hunter accepting it because he knows what's about to happen

"Time to release the wrecking ball!" "Honestly, I feel bad for those droids"

They literally cannot be more proud of each other's abilities and skills it kills me

"Ohhh! He's gonna try and top me. You watch!" again, sibling competition combined with the little chuckle during "You watch!" - he's so proud of Crosshair

"RELAX WRECKER YOU'LL TOP HIM NEXT TIME" "NO HE WON'T" i 👏 love 👏 them 👏 so 👏 much

Crosshair's hand-on-the-hip head shake as Anakin hands Wrecker the detonator

The seamless sentence add-ons when Echo asks them why they're not following the Jedi

Tech's smile growing bigger as Crosshair and Wrecker speak

Hunter's constant look of fondness at his brothers (I actually cannot handle it anymore I need them back together)

Wrecker and Tech's warm smiles at Echo as Hunter invites him to join the squad

CROSSHAIR'S SMILE AND NOD AT ECHO WHEN HUNTER SAYS "well, find us"

(listen, I'm such a Crosshair softy and especially when he was going down the arc he was in season 1, I admittedly dug up and grasped onto anything I could to prove that he loved his brothers and the empire arc wasn't permanent for him so yes that moment when I caught it during a rewatch really stuck out to me)

(I also grasp onto anything happy to counter the sadness in Rex's face as he walks away from Echo ok?)

Moral of the story: JENNIFER AND BRAD I WILL GIVE YOU ANYTHING TO HAVE THIS DYNAMIC BACK I CANNOT BEG YOU ENOUGH

Wow wow wow this really made me miss these boys and love and appreciate them even more even though we're literally only 4 days after season 2 ending. Thinking I'm going to do a whole TBB series rewatch and do this for each episode and then schedule the posts weekly. That'll at least be 30 weeks of positive TBB content and possibly ease the ache a little

Neptune: Hey, Pyrrha; need me to carry your books for you?

Weiss: Pyrrha, would you like to join me for tea later, I have the utmost exquisite tea for you to try?

Blake: Pyrrha, would you like to talk about the plights of the faunas?

Sun: How about we all go have lunch outside?

Ruby: Oh! We could have a picnic!

Nora: With pancakes!

Ren: Would this be satisfactory to your wishes your most holy saint?

Yang: Sound like fun to me!

Pyrrha: Thank you, thank you everyone ~! That sounds just wonderful~! Although, I don’t think pancakes are a good picnic food, Nora, maybe cakes instead~!

Ruby: That sounds nice~!

Weiss: I know some excellent cakes that go along famously with my teas!

Neptune: Would you like a cushion to rest on?

Nora: What are we waiting for, lets go have a picnic!!!

As the group cheered, and danced about their most holy saint, one bad his opinions about their little get together well known, very well known.

: Oh gods… Are we going to have a party, or are all of you having a seizure?

Jaune Arc, comes from a most prestigious family, excellent academic rating, and a first class swordsman, well like by many of the schools facility, and the only student who showed any open distain to the most holy, Saint.

Jaune: Well, answer me! Or, are your brains so dulled by such childish antics they’ve ceased to function properly?

Ruby: We’re going to have a picnic!

Nora: And, you’re not invited!

Jaune: Oh, such a pity… At least tell me where you picnic is being held, I’m pretty sure the grass could use some watering.

Pyrrha: Now, now, come on, and be nice everyone~! I’m sure, Jaune would be wonderful to have at our little picnic, oh won’t you join us please~?

Jaune: Why the hell would someone of my noble standing deal with something like you, piece of trash.

Neptune: You dare call her trash!

Jaune: ‘Dared,’ you illiterate monkey! It past tense since I already called her trash! A worthless piece of trash at that!

Yang: You looking for a beat down you bastard!

Jaune: Now, now, now, Yang. Didn’t your precious little saint ask to, oh how did it go…? Oh yes: ‘Please no fighting~! Can’t we all just get along in peace with on another~?’ Ughh… just thinking about your pathetic idealism bullshit is revolting!

Yang: Next sparing match, you’re going down!

Jaune: Down on you if I lose, or down on me if I win? Regardless of which, I’m very certain we’ll both enjoy anyway~!

Yang: You fucking bastard!!

Weiss: You revolting pig!

Ruby: You big meanie!

Jaune: Oh! I am so offended by your words! Not because they were particularly mean, but that was seriously the best you come up with?

Neptune: Do you have anything better to do than insult the, Saint, Arc?!

Jaune: Do you have anything better to do than be a massive simp?

Jaune: Evidently not…

Blake: Get out of here, Arc! People like you are not welcome here!

Jaune: Wow, you really going to get faunas equality with that kind of hypocrisy? Gods! I understand why this pack of simpleton’s shadow you like the plague, the hell are you doing? Like attracts like I guess.

Pyrrha: I fail to understand why you are so mean to me! Whatever it is I have done to offend you, please tell me what it is, and I shall rectify the problem!

Jaune: Well, I’m offended by your general existence so… Die?

Weiss: WHAT?!

Neptune: WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY!

Yang: You motherfucker!

Sun: I’m go to string you up like a bunch of bananas!

Ruby: You jerk!

Nora: I’LL BREAK YOUR LEGS!!!

Jaune: Oh no… Please don’t… Haa… Whatever. I have better things to do that remind you how fucking stupid you all are. Goodbye, you bunch of intellectual equivalent to house plants.

And, with that, Jaune Arc walked away from them all, flipping the bird as he left as the rest of, Pyrrha’s posse surrounded her spouting off words of comfort to their poor Saint as she could only sadly stare at the back of, Jaune’s head.

As, Jaune walk down the halls of, Beacon whistling a tune as he went, he found himself in one of the many courtyards of, Beacon where he slowly stopped whistling, and sat down. As he sat down, he looked around him making sure he was alone, before his head fell in his hands as he tiredly groaned into them.

Jaune: Ughhhhhh… This is so exhausting?!

: Don’t worry, everything is going as planned. Relax, our Galant Knight~!

Jaune could feel a pair of arm’s messaging his shoulders as made a soft groan of comfort, he looked up into the burning eyes of his teammate, and one of his secret lovers, Cinder Fall.

Jaune: I know, it’s just so exhausting to be a complete dick to everyone!

Jaune felt a kiss against his cheek as a one, Emerald Sustari snuggled up against him.

Emerald: But, you do it so well! You just walk in, and be a complete douchebag to all of them!

Jaune: Aye, but all three of you know that, that isn’t me.

Jaune felt a hand on his shoulder to his left, and he looked over to see, Neo giving a comforting look.

Jaune: Thanks, Neo. It’s just… It feels like I’m not getting anywhere with her; She still such a goodie two shoes no matter what I do. Ugh… Do I have to be the bad guy here…?

Cinder: I know you don’t like it, Jaune, but it has to be you. Everyone thinks you’re the nicest guy around, someone has to teach the, Saint that the world isn’t all sunshine, and rainbows. And, I’m afraid that person has to be you.

Jaune: Nawww… I don’t wanna do it! Why can’t you do it, you guys can easily be way harsher than I ever could!

Emerald: And, what makes you say that?

Jaune: You’re girls. And, because of my seven sisters, I know how vicious a girl can be to another girl. It’s scary…

Cinder: Haha~! I know we could eviscerate the poor girl, but we can’t do that.

Jaune: And, why is that?

Cinder: Because, Neo is mute, and therefore can’t join is.

Neo: 😕

Emerald: And, we’re too busy pretending we enjoy hanging around those guys as we apologetically remind them all that you are a horrible, horrible person!

Jaune: But, I’m not a huge dick to people!

Emerald: Depending on the context you are~!

Neo: 🥰

Cinder: True, on both accounts. But to, Pyrrha, and the rest of them you are a huge dick.

Jaune: Haa… I understand the importance of the mission, I’m just starting to get worried is all.

Emerald: About what?

Jaune: I’m worried that we’ll fail because it doesn’t seem like I’m getting anywhere.

Cinder: Don’t worry, Jaune. We’re together on this, we can get there I know we can.

Jaune: And, how my mother will kill me if she ever found out I was talking this way to a lady…?

The trio of lover all shared a nervous glance at one another, knowing full well the wrath of the, Arc Matriarch.

Neo: 😫

Emerald: Yeah, it wouldn’t be a quick death.

Cinder: In all honesty; I fear your mother more than failing this mission.

Jaune: Oh gods…

Cinder: Don’t worry, my precious knight… (Kiss) You’ll make it through this~!

Emerald: (Kiss) Don’t worry, I’ll give you a nice calming back massage when we get back to our room.

Neo: 🍆💦 🥴

Jaune: Neo?!

Neo: 🤭

Jaune: Haa… What would I do without you girls~?

Cinder: Lets not answer that, because I’m not sure what we would do without you. Bye~!

Emerald: See you later, Jaune~!

Neo: 😘

Jaune: Till later ladies~!

Jaune waved goodbye as he watched them leave. He say down for a while longer before finally standing up, and giving his stiff muscles a good stretch before getting up. The rest was over, and now it was time for the bad guy to get to work.

Pyrrha: J-Jaune?

Jaune: Haa… The hell do you want? Hmm? Where’s your little entourage, finally grown a pair to face me yourself?

Pyrrha: I just wanted to talk, without their input on what clearly is a personal matter.

Jaune: Oh? So the little lady has a mind of her own. Colour me surprised; I thought if we turned your head right, we could see the sunlight through your ears!

Pyrrha: I don’t understand! Why do you hate me so much! I fail to see what I did was wrong to you!

Jaune: Do I need a reason?

Pyrrha: W-What?!

Jaune: Do I need a reason to hate someone, or love someone? The answer is no. Sure having a reason rationalizes it so we can focus on why we love, or hate someone, or something. But we don’t need a reason now do we?

Pyrrha: S-So you hate me, because you hate me?

Jaune: No, I don’t hate you, I despise you! There’s a difference.

Pyrrha: What difference does it make?! Why must you hate me.

Jaune: Because I can! And, that’s all that matters in the end! I don’t need a duck reason to hate you, I just do! Happy, I hate you, because I hate you! Can we call it a fay, this pointless conversation is making me tired.

Pyrrha: C-Can’t we work it out? I’m sure if we could…?!

(SLAP!)

Jaune: Shut the fuck up! I don’t care what you say, how hard to cry! I hate you!

Pyrrha: Y-Y-You hit me…? You hit me?!

Jaune: Yeah I did, what are you going to do about it, bitch!

Cinder, Emerald, and Neo were patiently waiting for the return of their friend/team leader/joint lover in their room. Each waiting to give him a treat for his hard work, and to remind him; that no matter how mean he had to be to the saint, at the end of the day, he was loved.

But suddenly, with no warning what so ever, the door to their room quickly opened, and slammed shut behind them causing all the girls to jump in shock. They all turned to see their precious knight panting heavily as if he had just seen a ghost. They all rushed to him, to see if he was okay.

Neo: 🤨

Emerald: Jaune?! What’s wrong, are you okay?

Cinder: Did, Pyrrha’s cronies finally have enough, and decided to chase you down.

Jaune: Oh gods I wish that was it…?!

Emerald: Than, what happened, Jaune?

Jaune: Okay! S-So, Pyrrha tracked me down… alone… to talk.

Cinder: Without her followers getting in the way?

Emerald: Perfect time to talk with him, about stuff.

Jaune: Y-Yeah, that’s what I thought so too! S-So I decided to really let her have it?!

Emerald: What did you do?

Jaune: I-I-I slapped her…!!

Cinder: Excuse me?

Emerald: You did what now?

Neo: 😬

Jaune: I slapped her!

Cinder: How hard did you slap her? Was it like a light slap to the back of the head or was it?!

(Slap!)

Neo: 😱

Cinder: OWWW?! Damn! That was perfect!

Emerald: It was?!

Cinder: Hurt enough to be shocking, but jot hard enough to leave a mark. Perfect slap!

Emerald: He gets a lot of practice from us~!

Neo: 🥴

Cinder: So then what happened?

Jaune: W-Well I antagonized her; she said you ‘Slapped me.’ i said, ‘What are you going to do about it bitch!’

Emerald: Oh~! Nice!

Neo: 😁👍

Cinder: Then what happened?

Jaune: S-She looked at me w-w-with the most depraved look I’ve ever seen!

Emerald: What?

Jaune: S-She told me to slap her again!

Neo: 😰

Jaune: Only this time I hit her harder, and call her, ‘My bitch!’

Cinder: Wait, what?!

Jaune: G-G-Guys?! T-T-The saint is a masochist! She a freaking masochist! And, she wants me to discipline her?!! Oh gods?! WHAT HAVE I DONE?!!

CEN: …

Cinder: The fuck…?!
