This Isn't Happening part 2

“You gotta aim lower. Her pussy isn't going to be as high as you think it'll be.” he started. And then he laughed. “Since you're a virgin, I can demonstrate first if you want.” Shigaraki sucked in air and made an irritated expression. “No—fuck no—she's mine, stupid. Doesn't matter if I'm a virgin.” Fuck.
This was going to happen.
What was going to happen? A voice deep inside you asked. Were you going to get raped after being catfished? Were they going to torture you? Questions swirled in your head.
Your heart was racing, your hands felt clammy and you didn't feel like any of this was real. You could swear that you were somehow actually floating feet off the bed as you watched the scene in front of you unfold. Dabi had inched his chair closer towards you and Shigaraki in an obnoxious display of perverted voyeurism. He had fully unsheathed his dick and was whacking it lazily against his thigh mumbling to himself; what exactly, you couldn't hear, but his eyes held the same dull gleam of animalistic lust encapsulated in the sapphire eyes of the pasty man hovering above you.
A string of wetness hit your shoulder, the slimy and eerie sensation once again grounding you and forcing you to experience your current reality. You made a symphony of panicked sounds, all of them falling on unsympathetic ears. You felt the warm hardness of Shigaraki's cock against your folds.
“She sounds so cute. So dammed cute...you're so cute,” began Shigaraki, “you're like a little bunny caught in a trap the big scary man set out for you.” Slurp slurp slurp. He was tonguing you all over. “You're a fucking monster—you fucking incel.” finally, you found your voice. Dabi let out thunderous laughter, evidently tickled by your insult to his friend.
“She's got you pegged, Crusty.” he began. “You don't even know the half of it, princess.” You grimaced as you felt a hand collide with with a sharp smack to your ass. Suddenly an onslaught of open handed attacks rained down on the curves of your body, hips, ass, thighs. “Shut up! Shut your fucking whore mouth, fucking bitch.” He pushed your head into the bed in one fluid motion. Won't be able to talk if you can't breathe, right? Wanna keep this up?” You squirmed frantically, bucking against his cock and balls.
Shigaraki was breathlessly rubbing against your body as you did so. “You know what? I don't think I even want this sloven hole of yours,” he bent down and you could feel the heat from his mouth on your ear. “You have my full permission to keep this up." Your bucking against his body like that was is enough for the virgin to get off to.
Pleading silently to Shigaraki, God—whoever would be able to help you. Your heart was threatening to burst out of your chest as the world around you went dark, relaxing into his hold accepting your fate at the hands of these two lunatics.
“Shigaraki. Enough.”
Shigaraki's body went still as he considered Dabi's words. After what felt like infinity, he raised his hand from the back of your skull and you lifted your face greedily sucking up any and every molecule of oxygen you could get down your throat into your scorched lungs. The madman had choked you. You knew they were insane but not like this.
You sensed a calloused digit wipe the fresh tears from your eye and then a rough palm cup your cheek. It was itchy but the softness of the act was evident by the gentle way it caressed and stroked your face. Dabi. At some point he had rose from his chair and was now on his knees on the side of the bed you were sprawled on. He looked at you with half lidded eyes; feral desire intertwined with...sympathy?
“You need to take your punishment like a good girl.” His voice was soft, barely a whisper. Your stomach was in knots. “Can you be a good girl for us? It'll be over that much quicker that way.” You looked at him, chest heaving from the adrenaline that coursed through your body. “Yes,” you choked out. “Yes?” Shigaraki asked. “What are you agreeing to?” “I'll...be a good girl.” You conceded defeat. The sooner this was over with, the better. Shigaraki ran his swollen cock up and down your entrance, coating the warm slick from your pussy onto it.
“How are you going to be a good girl?” your body tensed up, anticipating the intrusion. He prodded at the puffy slit, gradually stretching you in order to ease the resistance out of the tight hole. “Gonna...make you feel good. Both of you.”

Favorite The Owl House episode?
tbh, haven't rewatched the show in a long long time so might need to rewatch to be sure. for a while, it was eda's requiem. it means a lot to me and genuinely made me realize shit about myself. as dumb as it sounds it's what made me realize "...oh. if I died, that'd...probably fuck up the people around me." so it has a massively special place in my heart. and also the depth it gives eda! made me reevaluate shit about how I view parents and also just. god. the importance of found family and how important it is to acknowledge that it's just as important as blood family. found family is so often treated as secondary and seeing it portrayed as just as important is so fucking good and god! middle aged characters with depth! middle aged WOMEN with depth! some of the most accurate depression rep I've seen. she feels so real and raw and god, it's really nice to see a middle aged character who gave up learning to get back up again and stop feeling like they missed the best of their life and wasted it, and aaorudhdjd. god. I love eda. the music is beautiful and the duet is haunting, raeda fascinates me, and bard magic will ALWAYS be my favorite magic in toh.
I feel like the grey decaying thing works excellently as a metaphor for depression. it's what made me start going "is this a metaphor for mental illness?" because it FEELS like it. the voice acting is top tier and its so fucking good. it's just,,, man. a middle aged woman having an episode all to herself?? baby mes mind would've been BLOWN. her hatred of the curse wouldn't have hit nearly as hard without this episode, I think. the loneliness and feeling like it makes her Less is shown so well in this episode. it's just,,, man. as someone who's struggled with depression all my life, it resonates. she doesn't even CONSIDER king would still love her. raine saved her fucking life there and I'm still fucked up about it. it handles depression very well and its just. Man. that duet is one of the most memorable scenes in the show. darius abomination form is badass, raine's powers are so cool, the bats have my ENTIRE heart, the fucking MUSIC. brads music bangs. I love his soundtracks and this episode is just. always iconic to me.
that being said, I'm not entirely sure if it's my favorite episode right now? my brain flip flops on these things. right now I think it might be eclipse lake because it's just. SUCH a good episode. it's so gorgeous. the fight choreography, the animation, the lore, but most of all the EMOTION.
it has such excellent abuse rep. showing not only the complicated emotional reality of living with your abuser, of being dependent on your abuser, but also the fact that having an abusive relationship influences how you view ALL relationships. I love that amitys trauma isn't sidelined! what originally comes off as amity being a little TOO excited about having a girlfriend and also dana flipping off disney is shown to be amity being fucking terrified of losing this. she's so desperate to prove herself and since they're foils we gain knowledge as to what odalia and amitys relationship might've been like through hunter and gain insight into how hunter might view other relationships going forward through amity and it's LOVELY.
it also drives me insane that people use this episode as proof amity would hate hunter when. nah. nah, absolutely not. also I love how it shows how fucking KIND amity actually is. this boy's threatened and backstabbed her multiple times and is showing he's willing to do ANYTHING to win, and she still feels so much fucking sympathy for him. because she gets it. he's like her. she would've done this in his shoes. she offers him kindness and shows no sign of holding a grudge??? NONE???? this woman is fucking forgiving. she would have every right to hate his guts and she doesn't. idk what y'all mean when you say she's a jerk shes fucking KIND.
also hunters breakdown is painful to watch. I don't know what I can say about it that hasn't already been said. it's so raw and resonant, it feels like watching a real kid, it has such a realistic depiction of abused kids, what else can I say?
I also love the addressing of the cycle of abuse. hunter isn't a pure innocent baby here. he's manipulative and mean and cutthroat. hes a dick! I love him having anger issues because that's how abused kids often are! and I love amity backsliding! I love amity going tunnel vision! I love how realistic and painful the whole episode is!
they're just kids, man. you can tell the crew wanted this to be realistic and they succeeded.
I don't know which I like more. they're both just so GOOD.
(ask me things!)

Voiceplay Visuals: Oogie Boogie's Song
It's time, y'all.
Oogie Boogie's Song was released on the 19th of October, 2019, and it currently stands at 12.4 million views on Youtube. While that's only roughly a quarter of the views of VP's Moana Medley, it's still very impressive, and it's their second-most-popular video on their channel (since the Moana Medley at least) (it also appears to be their most popular song on Spotify, with over 8 million streams/listens.
If you weren't introduced to Voiceplay from their Moana Medley or some of the more recently popular stuff like Nothing Else Matters and Valhalla Calling, then chances are that this was the way you stumbled across them (it was probably also your first introduction to subharmonics, as was the case for many reactors who watched this video). I found the video roughly a week after its release, and posted on my Discord about it, saying "Do you wanna hear some of the lowest goddamn notes you've ever heard? Well then, watch this." It did not take long at all for me to fall in love with Geoff, lemme tell you.
But anyway, enough backstory and whatnot, time for the actual video!
Tumblr media
I quietly wonder if the original intention was to have the die stay in his beard after it's thrown at him, and if so, how long did it take to get right?
"Sandy Claws" btw is played by "Pasquale Palazzolo", Geoff's brother-in-law I believe? (I think I heard somewhere that Eli does the voice for him though)
Tumblr media
What an entrance honestly
Tumblr media
Layne is Zero, who in the movie is Jack's pet ghost-dog, but here he's decided to hang out with Oogie Boogie apparently!
Tumblr media
Right, so I'm guessing that Eli is Lock, based on the red outfit, J is Barrel (based on the skeleton shirt), leaving Earl as Shock (and he's got kinda similar blue eye-makeup). Eli and J reprise their roles in Voiceplay's cover of Kidnap The Sandy Claws the following year
Tumblr media
Brilliant acting job by Mr Palazzolo, 10/10, no notes 👍
Cool glowy mouth/lips thing!
Tumblr media
Did "Shock" just crack/break "Barrel's" neck? 😅
Tumblr media
"What are you going to do?" "I'm gonna do the best I can! Hit it!"
But seriously, 10/10 costuming (also shoutout to Voiceplay for getting it right and not making Oogie Boogie's actual regular appearance be green (as he is so often depicted - it's just due to the lighting in some scenes! He's not actually green!). And I'm not sure whether it's the makeup or his acting or both, but it's almost in a way sort of hard for me to recognize Geoff here? That's not the right phrasing - obviously I know it's him, but he just feels/looks so different to how he usually does. Heck, even in the Little Mermaid Medley it feels more like him. That's not a criticism either way though! He did such a good job here, as did everyone involved in making this video!
Tumblr media
Those were definitely not rolled naturally. If anything, they were spun on their axis into frame, very lightly 😝
Tumblr media
I haven't said a lot about them but Eli, Earl, and J all also did a brilliant job of going full-character with their portrayals of Lock, Shock, and Barrel!
Tumblr media
lol mood
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I swear there's no section of any song that I have internally memorised more than the last ~15 seconds of this song)
Not here to focus on the song itself, but if you were watching this for the first time and weren't quite sure where that insanely-low rumbling was coming from at the end, Geoff's body language almost definitely answers that question for you.
Seriously the way he physically seems to emit that E1 subharmonic really adds to the seemingly inhumanness of it, and I love it. What a performance!
(Also I cannot for the life of me tell whether Geoff added some stuff to his hair like hair chalk for this video to make it lighter or whether the lighting is just making it seem that way itself)
Final note: Did they have some sort of mechanism or a string or something like that to ensure Pasquale/"Sandy" didn't fall over in that chair? Because it tips backwards twice, deliberately, but not all the way either time.
So that's Oogie Boogie's Song: the tip of the freaking iceberg when it comes to the productions of "the theatre kids of acapella", and I am so glad I became a fan of Voiceplay thanks to this video.

I don't know if this story fits with your blog, but I really wanted to share it with someone. I'm 21F, my boyfriend is 24. A few months ago we got really high on ecstasy and had a great time just listening to music and cuddling. Everything was very sensual and relaxed. At one point I asked him to tell me his deepest sexual fantasy. He got a shy look on his face but told me that he'd really like to be seduced by another guy someday. He didn't want to seek out an encounter necessarily, but he said he was very open to it if the moment was right. I didn't realize he had any bisexual thoughts but this was a huge turn on for me. We talked some, then got hungry and made something to eat. But I couldn't get the image of him with another guy out of my mind.
Fast forward about a month and I was scrolling through Reddit when I found the gone wild audio sub. I started checking out some of the role plays and found one that blew my mind. It was an M4M scene where a gay guy seduces a co-worker. The guy doing the audio had the most amazing voice, so fucking sexy, and the story was insanely hot. In the audio, the straight guy hurts his back and his gay friend offers to give him a massage. One thing leads to another and the story ends with the gay guy giving the straight guy a blow job while massaging his prostate. I was literally shaking by the time the story was over.
All of a sudden, I was hit with an inspiration. Later that evening, my boyfriend and I smoked some weed and I told him I had a surprise for him. We went into the bedroom and I blindfolded him. I turned off all the lights, had him get comfortable, then started the audio. I proceeded to act out the story in real time, touching my boyfriend exactly the way the actor was role-playing the audio. My boyfriend had my fingers and mouth on his body, but he had another man's voice worming into his brain. He got super into the scene and orgasmed almost exactly on que with the audio. I've never seen him cum so hard. He got completely swept up with the moment and it was one of the most intense and beautiful things I've ever seen. He really let go and lost himself in the fantasy.
After we calmed down, he really opened up to me about his desires and thanked me for doing that for him. The whole experience has brought us a lot closer and we've started sharing a lot more of ourselves with each other. We've also decided that he should probably continue to explore this aspect of his sexuality. All in all, it was an amazing experience and I feel super fortunate people are out there making these role-playing audios for everyone to enjoy.
Thanks for letting me share my story. 😊
It's still audio roleplay related so I'll allow it.

4.) Which has the most “you” in it, however you’d define that?
I think it's definitely April 6th, for a whole lot of reasons- I talked about this a little yesterday, but it's very much a fic that (even though I didn't know it at the time) was me Dissecting a lot of things- but on a less introspective note, I think it also has the most "me" in it simply because I gave up making it a fic comprised only of words Very Quickly. I've always struggled with the actual act of putting words down on the page, so writing April 6th as not only chapters but also text exchanges, social media posts, polaroid images, a twine game with illustrations, etc really let me tell the story in a way that feels more ME? I'm a kind of all over the place person and it's a kind of all over the place fic, but because of that I think it's very much the kind of thing that has My Voice all over it and I'm still really proud of it!
6.) Idea that you always wanted to write but could never make work?
God, I think there are two tied for the top and both of them are horror concepts 😭i LOVE horror and i LOVE good horror writing but i struggle so hard with catching the FEELING of horror in text alone? The first one was a fic about Giorno attempting to use GER to bring Bruno back from the dead that I got 90% of the way through and then just COULD NOT get the ending to hit right- nothing felt like it hit hard enough!
The other was a KiraBoss fic that was ESSENTIALLY consensual snuff rp- diavolo is still deathlooped and kira is a ghost haunting his home in morioh, and every night they play out scenes where Kira hunts Diavolo through the house and kills him, only for a twist at the end to reveal this is an elaborate game they play and they're both Super into it. I still REALLY love the concept but the actual pacing and atmosphere of the horror segment with Diavolo being hunted and murdered just... never felt sufficiently horror-y.... so it will linger in my mind forever i suppose!
16.) 3 favorite comments ever received on fanfic.
god, there are So many that I would say, it's honestly been wild getting so many heartfelt and in depth comments on my work? like holy shit i made something that people are Having Feelings about. I made something and it gave people emotions and they're reacting to it and it's really actually reaching people emotionally? holy fuck?
Tumblr media
then there's this one which made me fucking HEEHOO when it hit back to back (context is kinda hard to explain without spoilers, but giorno Does Some Fuckshit and then the immediate next chapter changes course):
Tumblr media
and lastly, this one which ONLY exists in screencap form for reasons that will become apparent-
Tumblr media
but honestly i could go on and on, it's kinda insane and special to me that people have said anything sincere and heartfelt or funny and witty or ANYTHING about my work?
(also bonus points: i. i literally keep a compilation of every time someone has said my fic made them cry. this is actually an outdated version but the current one is on a different device so.)

You Are In Love
Loki x Reader
1989, epilogue
"You are in love, true love."
Summary: It's hard to find the one, but even if you do find him it's always going to be a daily struggle to make it work. Can you even make it work after he broke your heart? The answer to that is complicated, but it all started when you found each other again in the stark tower- and that's where our story begins.
Word count: 7,106
Warnings: some angst, some unreliable narrator, fluff, me being a hopeless romantic.
A/N: this is the very end- the epilogue, and it is based on the 1989 deluxe song You Are In Love. I really think this is important to the story despite it being an epilogue because I based some of the things solely because I wanted a scene here to happen, I needed that scene. Okay idk how this got so long, I'm sorry! Also, not me stealing quotes from my favourite book… I cried writing this.
A/N2: thank you to @chrissquares for all the incredible dividers she made for my series, and for @nacho-bucky who beta read it all and managed to put up with me. I appreciate you two so much, I love y'all!
No one is allowed to repost my writing or steal or copy my work! Reblog on tumblr is fine.

The room was dark and silent as you got into bed, playing the same thing that has been in your mind for weeks now. You heard him in your head, and saw him in your mind as you went to sleep. It hasn't been long since you first saw Loki, but he plagued your mind. Being asleep did not make him go away. You shut your eyes.
The wind felt cold on your skin but your palm was warm as he held you close. When you looked down you found yourself in a dark golden gown, a smile spread on your lips when you looked into his eyes and he took you to dance with him. You saw nothing but him as he twirled you around, your surroundings did not matter as the whole world stood in silence, the two of you were only focused on each other. You were wonderstruck, dancing around with him and looking at his bright blue eyes, you prayed he won't let you go. He only held you lightly with the palm of his hand and the arm around your waist but you felt enough.
He whispered in your ear terms of endearment and you could feel yourself blush. He twirled you around and out of his reach. You danced around all alone, until you turned around and saw Loki sitting on the back of a car, his hand inviting you. You felt your confusion go away as you climbed up to sit next to him, your jeans barely touched his black pants. Then he talked to you.
"Do you remember?" You heard his voice say to you and you turned your head.
"What?" You sat there when Loki talked to you.
"Look up." You heard his voice say to you and you turned your head up and looked at the stars, and your shoulders brushed. A shudder of warmth coursed through you as you saw the brightest star in the sky. You turned your eyes on Loki and the lights turned out.
You woke up in a shudder, heaving, you looked at the clock that mocked you. 1:58.
You turned to the other side of the bed and hoped sleep would take you quietly this time.
Loki walked along the bifrost, his heart was beating and racing, it didn't matter how many times he visited Heimdall, he was still anxious for his answer every time.
"Heimdall," Loki greeted the guardian.
"Prince Loki, are you going to ask the same question every time?" Heimdall looked over at the distressed prince. He remembered seeing him, when he was so young, so happy when he snuck him out at night so he can go to see the human woman he fell so hard for. He remembers Loki coming back in the morning with a smile on his face that he has never seen on him before; he remembers the young innocent prince showing him the necklace he carved especially for you, with his insignia on it; he remembers him being hopeful for the future- with you.
"I just want to know how she is."
Now he is an idiot.
"Just like she was the last time you asked me." Loki merely nodded, looking down on the ground. Heimdall waited for him to ask the other question he always asked.
"Is she- is she seeing someone?" Loki kept his eyes down, he held his breath.
"No." Heimdall tried to comfort the prince but he knew the answer won't do. Loki nodded to him, he never knew if he liked the answer or if he wanted you to find someone and be happy even if it is without him.
"Is she happy?"
"Yes, she is. She is happy and content," Heimdall stepped forward and put a hand on Loki's shoulder. "But it's been four years- don't you think there is a reason why she is still alone?"
"She just hasn't found-"
"She won't find someone who will make her happy like you did."
Loki refused to be selfish like he was in the past with you. Now that he understood what you asked him all those years ago at sunset, he refused to destroy your peace. Yet, he refused to forget you.
"However, your highness, she will not be available forever." Loki finally looked up at him, "and forever is not a lot of time for mortals."
"Then what am I to do about it?" Loki has told Heimdall a great deal about you, he never told his mother about you but since Heimdall was the only one who knew- Loki conversed with him after you had a fight, gushed to him about new midgardian stuff you taught him, and Loki knew that he didn't have to hide you from him.
"Do not sabotage your own happiness, it is not a selfish act if both of you will be happy from it. She will be happy to see you again, I can see that." Heimdall looked into the prince's eyes and hoped he could bring some sense to him.
He almost missed the way his eyes shone for just a moment, before the prince turned away to go back to the palace.
"Thank you, Heimdall, truly." Loki turned to him briefly before turning once again.
He wasn't as uncertain as he thought he would be; he pondered as he made his way across the rainbow bridge.
You woke up yet again alone, another sleepless night made you long for something you didn't have, leaving you tired. You reluctantly got out of bed, closing the curtains and concealing daylight and opting instead to turn on the lights. You had a long day ahead of you, so you shook the blue eyes that haunted you from your mind, you could almost see them in the shadow at the corner of your room.
It was just a trick of the light. You checked.
You walked out the door, not before taking a double look at the apartment, it was empty but… it felt wrong. You could almost see a silhouette, you must have been losing your mind, you thought, as you turned out the lights and walked to work. But right before you closed the door you sneaked one last glance, and you could still see it with the lights out.
Work had been tedious, Pepper was busy which meant that so were you, but at least you amused yourself in your breaks. Seeing the competitive supersoldiers spar on the mat sure could bring a smile to your face any day.
You weren't lonely by any means, you were happy with your new family that seemed to adopt you the moment you got the job, you were happy with your job, but from time to time you couldn't help but feel… hollowed. Something was not quite right, something was missing and you couldn't figure it out. Sure, you didn't have a boyfriend but that wasn't it. Every guy that hit on you just seemed wrong, you didn't feel the need to get one. You were satisfied and happy… was that enough?
You buttoned your coat to shield you against the autumn chill as you went back home. Happy suggested driving you, Tony basically commanded it but you sneaked out as he was arguing with someone on the phone, waving Happy goodbye as the elevator doors closed. You felt like walking today.
Autumn air swept past you as you walked, you looked through store windows at the TV, one reporter was talking about how there were sightings of the evil god of mischief. You stood there and stopped to look at it, could you have missed him? You remembered when you saw him at the Avengers Tower- when you first met him at the Tower- he left too soon, you fixed yourself in your own mind and watched as the reporter showed pictures after rambling about how dangerous it is.
Your heavy chest breathed again when you saw the photos- Steve's hair has not been like that in years, this was not recent. You shook your head and continued walking.
You remembered when he passed by you, you remember the chill of him that for some reason gave you warmth. And now in the cold weather you could feel it all over again on your way home. You could imagine it, and it was so real there, him being on your left, you could almost feel him breathing on your neck.
You opened your eyes and looked over your shoulder. He wasn't there.
Long story short, you were sure you were going insane- having an unexplainable crush on a god you met once upon a time, what was it? Four year ago? You hoped your mind would stop listening to your heart this one time.
You met him one time, you talked a bit before he passed by you, meeting him was rare as the glimmer of a comet in the sky- that is what you told yourself at least, when days passed and you remembered him but you didn't see him again.
You shook your head again, shaking him away, you were just chasing shadows and there was no point in that. You knew that and wished logic would calm your racing heart.
Loki stepped into the Allfather's throne room and dismissed all the other Asgardians that were there.
"My son, what are you doing?" Odin rose up before he saw the look on Loki's face and with a raised interest he sat down as Loki went up the golden stairs.
"I have a request, it is important to me."
"And you came to ask me to grant it?" Odin raised a brow and studied the god of mischief, doubtful with every moment that went by. This sure is intriguing.
"I am afraid you are the only one that will be able to fulfill my wish." Loki's thoughts were still messy in their silence, scattered in ways he didn't try to collect. He thought about it the whole way to the palace. Even when he was satisfied here, and when he and Thor became true brothers after everything went down… it still wasn't home. It isn't home- it never was since he met you.
"Well do tell me what made you so desperate that you came to me?" Loki took a breath in.
"My love." He breathed out.
"The mortal midgardian girl?" Odin seemed to understand the situation. He never thought it would come from Loki, he never thought anyone would come to him for it, especially not the prince. "What would you want me to do?"
"The one thing only the Allfather is capable of doing." Loki lifted his head up and looked at his father with determination. He was certain with his decision.
Loki walked the rainbow bridge feeling different and yet the same all at once- he felt new. But with one weight lifted, another dread took its place.
Heimdall nodded at him with a small smile and Loki found himself returning it, it reminded him of the first night he came back to Asgard after meeting you in Midgard. Heimdall always knew from the start.
He stepped into the Avengers Tower, knowing that by this hour you were probably back at your apartment- at home. He stepped into the living room and found the witch, the billionaire, and the captain there sitting around on the several couches.
"Loki?"
"Captain," The god nodded to him in recognition. He wasn't quite sure what to say.
"What are you doing here?" the god walked around to stand in front of the three avengers.
"I've come to a decision."
"I used to want the Throne, father." Loki continued, "The very one you are sitting on, or the one I'd put on Midgard. As the rightful heir to the throne, and as the King of Jotunheim, I deserve that.
"I was born for it- and so, I used to want the throne. I used to think myself superior to everyone in the nine realms, the mortal midgardians out of all… that was until I met her, my love. When you met your love, father, it didn't change you. You caused ruin and shed blood and now you are sitting on a throne built on that in a world that now I am fit to rule." Loki did not let the Allfather speak in between. He deserved this, he knew that now.
"During the time you were away and under my spell, I made Asgard prosper… look how well it all turned out," he chuckled bitterly. "I used to want the throne but now I realize I just wanted to be acknowledged for my abilities, for my wit, instead of being shadowed to the side- all because you decided to pick up a baby and use it as political gain only to find it useless." Loki took a breath to close his eyes, he remembered it all, he remembered the day he found out about it all, about his glorious purpose his father planned for him.
"And Then I met my love, and she saw everything- all of that-inside me already without me having to prove it to her. She made me realize that I have nothing to prove to you- an abuser who calls himself king.
While Thor is my brother, and I acknowledge that I still am both Odinson and Laufeyson, this is not the home I thought I could make it out to be… by fixing everything else and making the people love me, fear me, acknowledge me. Even when my mother was here, I was not able to be fully myself, not here, not like I was whenever I'd sneak out of Asgard to be with her." Loki smiled, thinking about all of your moments together.
"Those were the sole moments where I felt what a home should feel like- though I never had anything to compare it to, and you made me think that somehow I should be grateful for you- for taking me here instead of dying in the cold, even though you were planning to use me as bait to gain advantage on your opponent.
Then I found her and she warmed her way into my heart and despite it all she still loves me and cares for me and I know that if I ever had a home… it wasn't on Jotunheim or here with my brother- it was with her: In a small apartment in Midgard, surrounded by mortals.
"And so, yes I am the rightful king of Jotunheim and a prince of Asgard, god of mischief… but I also have a home waiting for me in Midgard and I also am in love. And only now I realize all I want I can get, which is the home that I gave up on all those years ago- trying to make this home better. I don't want the throne anymore.
"So now, now I choose her."
"You decided to come back?" The witch leaned forward and asked him, he was about to nod when the captain spoke up.
"What about you saying that you want her to have peace?" Steve crossed his arms and rose up, "You said that as a god you won't be able to give her a peaceful life?"
"Yeah what changed in the last few years?" Tony continued sipping on his drink, casually looking over at the god with an arched eyebrow.
"Well, I came to a few realizations about her and myself which is why I am here now." Loki started, "now I can be what she needs me to be, if she will take me back."
"She still thinks of you, her thoughts are so loud sometimes." Wanda smiles at him, he is still wary with her after she saw inside of his mind. "How did you change then?"
"Well," Loki took a breath. "The ruling god, the Allfather, has the ability to revoke the immortality of a god. And so- I asked my father to take away my immortality."
They stared at him in silence, one in disbelief, one studying him, and one confused.
"So now if I stab you, you will die?" Stark asked and the god rolled his eyes.
"The Asgardian gods were never immortal, we are almost immortal, so even if you had stabbed me before I could have died- I however doubt you would have managed to do any harm to me." Loki dismissed the small man.
"Wait, what about your… magic?" Steve asked and one shrug later an identical Captain America stood in front of him, smirking.
"Patriotism, Justice, god bless America!" Loki shapeshifted back to himself before continuing, "I still have my magic, powers, and the rest of the qualities as the god that I am- that make me way above all of you- I am just not as immortal, and I will be able to live with her properly."
"So, you are like a supersoldier." Steve nodded in understanding, and Loki smiled slightly.
"Yes, but a lot more powerful and better."
Steve shook his head but let out a small laugh.
"So when are you going to see her?"
"Well, I think I wasted enough time already." Loki let out a chuckle, and he didn't even bother hiding the excitement in his blue eyes.
Loki hoped his excitement, as well as his nervousness, were hidden- he gave up using illusions around you a long time ago, and it was very long ago but he didn't want to use them now. This time he was going to make it right.
It was weird, not having unlimited time anymore. But his doubts about the decision stopped when you opened the door after hearing his soft knocks.
Your eyes were beautiful, they always were but he missed them terribly, now they were filled with a mix of confusion and excitement. He couldn't help the slight smirk that slipped out across his lips- at least he still had that affect on you.
You had a hard time processing who was at your doorstep, but you could already feel the butterflies blooming in your stomach. So long trying to suppress your weird crush. It seems to be inevitable now that he showed up years later.
When you saw his smirk you realized you must have been staring at him longer than you should have.
"Loki?" his name tasted weird on your tongue, you couldn't place the little spark that flew in your mind, making your head ache a bit.
He brought his hands up and with a light green glow he held blooming flowers in his hand.
"May I come in, love?" you could barely speak with the way his blue eyes shone, like moonlight against the darkness of the night like the suit he wore.
You nodded and stepped back to let him in.
You were certain that when he walked past you and handed you the flowers he had a certain glow to him, like an aura that was visible to the naked eye, it both calmed you down and overwhelmed you, so you looked away.
"These are my favourite, how did you know?"
He turned to look at you and you couldn't help but blush, wonderstruck at the little whispers you could almost hear his eyes hold, a silent question. You couldn't answer.
"I have magic, did you forget, dear?" Loki smiled when you locked the door and turned back to him. "I can read minds."
You laughed, and what a sound it was.
"That's bullshit, I didn't think about flowers now. Can you read what I'm thinking now?" you raised a brow at him, happy to call him on his bluff- you hoped it was a bluff, you'd rather the earth swallow you alive than if he could know what you're thinking while he is here.
"You are wondering what I am doing showing up at your door close to midnight." He took a step towards you. He wasn't wrong. "A little birdie told me."
You let out a nervous chuckle when you saw him standing closer now, but it turned to anger when you understood his words.
"Steve told you?" you went around him contemplating how to kill Steve, Natasha owed you a favor after all; you muttered, "That son of a bitch…"
Loki figured he will go with your answer, it is the easier answer. You came back shortly with a vase and the flowers in the water in it.
"Do not fret, those flowers are special, they have an enchantment on them so they will not die."
At least you didn't have to worry about that, he was so considerate and normal that you almost forgot about the odd situation.
"Why are you here?" You asked and clasped your hands in front of you.
"You told me to come to you if I ever plan to take on the planet again, so here I am." He smiled at you such an honest smile, and you didn't even know why he was so happy, but you knew that smile will linger in your mind like a tattoo kiss. It was so tempting to look at his lips for longer and imagine to yourself what his kiss would taste like. "If I'm honest, you've left quite an impression on me the last time we met."
"Oh?" you hoped the heat in your cheeks was not visible, you bit your lip. "Can I trust the god of mischief to be honest?"
"Of course you can, just trust me." His serious look contrasted your playful one.
"Why do only the untrustworthy people say that?" you mused and smiled at him, hoping to ease whatever tensions you felt brewing in his mind.
"Well, love, that is because the people that you know you can trust don't need to say it." He looked at his shoes and you took the time to really admire him now that he was up close and real.
"Well then, I guess you don't need to say it." You found pride in how he lifted his head and a sly smirk took over. "Do you want something to drink?"
If he was here, after all those years of only imagining him, you could ignore the odd situation just so you could make him stay a little longer this time.
"I'd like that, thank you." You invited him to your kitchen as you made yourself some tea.
"What would you like?"
"Coffee is good." He wondered how far he could take it with you, letting a gentle glow almost reach you when you turned around and he stopped.
"Coffee at midnight?" you questioned him, "Okay, what kind of coffee do you like?"
"I am a god, love, it doesn't affect me the way it affects you," he laughed when you rolled your eyes. "Pick whatever you think I would like."
You nodded at him with a shy smile. You turned away from him and made his coffee as he sat around you at the isle. You felt little tickles in your brain then. You tried to shake them off somehow but when they got stronger you winced at the slight headache.
"Are you okay, love?" god, you were already getting used to the pet name he gave you.
"Yeah, just a headache- nothing tea cannot fix." You laughed and turned back to him and the headache was gone, you couldn't help but wonder if he used his magic to heal your headache. It would be stupid to assume that though, so you stayed silent and took a sip of your tea. You gave him his cup of coffee and your hands brushed- it was one touch but you felt enough to know that he will linger on your skin.
"So tell me," you broke the silence that took over as he kept looking at you with soft eyes. He hummed and urged you to continue, "How can I help you take over earth? Where do we start?"
He laughed and you promised yourself to make sure he will laugh again. And you wanted to hold him, but you held back that urge and relished his familiar- no, comforting presence as you talked through the night.
From there you saw Loki around more, at work or when he would invite himself into your house at night or during your day off. You fell so easily into routine with him, he filled the space in your life that used to be vacant, you never really noticed it until he had to go to Asgard for a month to deal with a meeting. He made up for it when he came back though, walking you home that night and the next night, and the one after that…
It did nothing to sooth your crush on the god, it increased it if anything. Whenever you saw him, he would sooth the headaches you were getting lately, you could almost feel the gentle almost featherlike caresses of his magic- it had to be his magic, even if he never said anything, you saw it in his eyes.
You managed to handle it until he followed you around at work- and you were surprised when the Avengers did not even comment on it or flinch.
"You look lovely as ever, my love," he picked the necklace on your neck and your breath hitched at his closeness and the way his fingers brushed your chest and throat, "Always a sight to behold."
"Oh, Loki," you always stammered at his compliments that he shamelessly threw at you, "you're so sweet thank you, I- I have to go now, I need to go to Pepper- I have work, yes work."
You cringed to yourself as you turned around and down the hallway, only to shriek in surprise when Loki suddenly materialized in front of you, causing you to fall… almost.
Loki caught you just before you hit the ground, with a hand around your waist and the other holding your hand and bringing you upwards to him. You didn't dare say a word.
"You know that with a beauty like yours Asgardian princesses could never compare- and for your steadiness I'm certain I could teach you Asgardian ballroom dancing- to help you, of course."
As if it couldn't get worse, your cheeks were heating up, and you were caught in his eyes before he thankfully let you go.
"I assure you I am steady and not clumsy, a person appearing in front of me would catch anyone off guard!" you laughed it off.
"I am not a person, dear, I am a god." At the intense look in his eyes you clutched your hands to your side, holding in a gasp you just nodded and went around him to try and get work done.
If Pepper noticed anything, she didn't comment on it.
As the days went on, he became bolder and bolder and you couldn't deny that you loved him courting you this way and knowing that he only has his eyes on you. On some days he was bolder, on others you took the leap to get closer to him when you noticed he was having a bad day, and sometimes he would be so gentle with you the genuine way of it made your heart soar.
It was all gentle touches and intense eyes that you still saw when you closed your eyes in the dark of the night. It was the slowest build up that made you feel like he was always there with you, whether it was in your heart or soul or body, it surrounded you in warmness you didn't know you missed.
And then he asked you out, as you showed him your favourite spot in the park. He just laughed and smiled at you and when you asked why he held your cheeks and asked you out on a date. He wanted it done properly.
So now you stood at your home in your best dress- it was green, you found it in your closet and you liked how it matched the colour of the shirt he often wore.
The doorbell rang so you looked in the mirror one more time, seeing the dress and the necklace he seemed to love. You looked around the dimly lit room and the set table and once you were sure everything was ready- you opened the door.
And there he was in all his glory, you couldn't have stopped the smile you shone at him even if you tried, he seemed to have that affect on you. You could see royalty on him, you could feel it, even when he stood there with a simple black suit.
"Hello dear," he looked you up and down, remembering another night you wore this very same dress, only you didn't wear that necklace, not yet. "You look ravishing."
"As do you, I really like this suit on you." You brushed your hand on his chest, straightening the tie. "Come on in."
Loki stepped into the room, appreciating the memories he has of all of your date nights, even those that you had before the two of you got together. He appreciated every single one of them.
Then he once again looked at you, the candles giving you a glowing aura, making you shine and his breath left him speechless.
The light reflected the chain on your neck, the one he gave you all those nights ago, that faithful night.
"Loki? What are you hiding there?" you laughed at him as you tried to circle him and see what he was clasping behind his back. Only to see green lights as he made whatever it was disappear with a smug smile on his face. "Hey that's not fair!"
He put his hands on your hips and pulled you to him as you tried, and failed, to stay stern.
"You are dating a trickster, love, you brought this on yourself." He laughed at you as a giggle escaped you before you again tried to drop the smile that gave away your true emotions. "It's your fault that you love me!"
His laugh stopped when he saw the wondering look in your eyes and he realized what he had said. Then he backed away from you.
Shaking his head, he laughed it off before putting on a smile that you knew was a cover for his true emotions. He pulled out a golden box, you had never seen something like this before. You knew he was distracting you but chose to let it go- for now, at least.
He looked at you with gleaming eyes, urging you on as you held it and opened it.
You caught your breath when you saw a golden necklace laid inside it. It was fairly simple, but it was golden and even had a glow around it. The pendant of the necklace was a simple circle that held a weird S shaped symbol on it. You looked at Loki as he took it out and held it in his hand.
"What is it, Loki?"
"That, my love, is my symbol. Two snakes circling each other, biting each other's tails, and in a way- they symbolize me."
"That is beautiful, Loki, thank you." You traced the symbol delicately- it was intricate but you could tell it was hand carved. You let him put it on you.
"This way, you will have a part of me wherever you go."
You held back tears and tuned around to face him, jumping in and hugging him close.
"You were right before, you know, I've been meaning to tell you this anyway." You pulled back only by an inch but he went and sat on the couch, so you went ahead and sat on his lap, letting his arms circle you.
"What do you mean?" he asked nervously.
"I love you."
Norns, he was so afraid to tell you back then, but now he wasn't afraid, and all he had to do was wait. He was willing to wait until you were ready, he hoped the light spells he had been casting were doing their work well, he hoped it won't be long.
You woke up in your bed, smiling at the golden daylight, you turned around and reached for the other side of the bed, happy to see Loki was still asleep.
It was rare to see him like this- peacefully sleeping. You lightly traced his face, careful with the light bruises he came home with. They were already healing but you still didn't like seeing them. You convinced Loki to let you clean them up, he argued about how he is a god, and yet he let you do it anyway.
"Good morning, beautiful." He murmured, still half sleeping, he grasped your hand in his and kissed the inside of your wrist.
"Good morning, handsome." You smiled at him. "You said I have you for the week, right?"
"I'm all yours, my dear." He pulled you closer now, "I have a few ideas on how to spend these days…"
You laughed and let him kiss you, you were just happy to have him home.
It was a few hours later that morning that you got out of bed, groaning at your sore muscles and chuckling to yourself at the smell of the burnt toast, it was only Sunday.
You put on his shirt and stepped outside to the kitchen.
"Will you ever not burn the toast?" he shrugged at the comment but didn't reply as he tried to break an egg into the pan.
"This is ridiculous." He grumbled to himself. "After all this time and I still don't get it."
"You didn't try to do this that long." You chuckled as he finally gave up and used his magic. "You have only been here with me for like half a year now."
"Right," he fixed himself, quickly coming back to you and serving you your breakfast the way he remembered you used to like.
"Thanks, Loki." You kissed his cheek as he sat next to you. "But how about you take the first bite?"
You bit your tongue to stop yourself from smirking.
"Now, darling, there is no need for that."
"Sure there is, I'll be very amused." You laughed at the look he gave you and how he tickled your side.
"I am not amused."
"You know, for an Asgardian you sound so British."
"False, English people sound like Asgardians." He pointed a fork at you before he ate from your breakfast, you joined in only after he approved of it to your surprise.
You sipped on your tea, sighing at the perfect morning you got to enjoy. That was when you realized that you are in love. In love with a god. You read books after you met him, you knew that this wouldn't last.
"How are your bruises? They seem to be healing okay, do they hurt?" you brushed away a strand of hair out of his face.
"I told you, darling-"
"I know, I know, you're an immortal Asgardian god, you can handle wounds like these." You laughed and hoped he wouldn't see through it. That was the one sentence from the book you read that haunts your brain. It made you remember a sunset, but you've never been with Loki to a sunset, maybe you should go sometime.
"Actually, Asgardian gods are just almost immortal. But I am not immortal anymore." He said, sensing your anxiety, hoping that this information will make it all okay, hoping you will realize that this will last.
"What? Why not?" you should not be delighted by the news, you should be worried of him getting hurt now.
"I decided to give up my immortality, while I still am a god and I assure you I am just as strong as I was before," he took your hand in his and looked into your eyes. "I decided that I want a better, more peaceful, life."
"But why would you-" you shook your head.
"I had my reasons." He kissed the back of your hand,
You nodded to him and looked away, a sinister kaleidoscope of butterflies of hope rose in your stomach.
Maybe some things last forever after all.
"I am both terrified and excited." You held onto Loki's arm for support, praying to any god out there that you won't mess it up and stumble.
The gown you were wearing was golden, with a dark glimmer to it, Loki was matching you in his royal suit in black, green, and gold. Loki finally took you to a ball a year into your relationship, you asked to celebrate it here and he complied
Asgard was beautiful, though you were getting a bit lightheaded from it all, it got worse when you entered the ballroom.
"I told you." Loki leaned in to whisper to you as you took in the scenery.
"What?"
"You are more beautiful than any Asgardian princesses in their best dresses." Heat rushed to your cheeks at the compliment, remembering when he so casually said it to you at the tower.
Loki remembered the night he taught you to dance, the one he finally kissed you and told you those same words.
Loki made sure to keep you away from Odin, and put an armor of magic around the two of you, hoping it would ease your headaches. And then you danced in your own little world, around and around until you got tired and Loki took you home.
Half a year later you were going to sleep, Loki was right there beside you, holding you close to him as you laid your head on his chest.
"Goodnight, my love."
"Goodnight… I love you."
"I love you too." Your lover kissed your head and then as you closed your eyes you felt the same tingles in your brain that you started to get whenever you went to sleep or even when you went to work.
Soon enough you fell asleep and your dreams took you along.
You wandered along places with Loki beside you. You were there with him on a high hill, staring at the sunset. "I'll treasure this moment forever." You heard him tell you but you didn't hear him- no, it was something else. You smiled at him and suddenly you were in your apartment, and you were smiling as he kissed you, you saw two paper airplanes flying around and he said- talked to you. "I told you my way was better." You heard yourself laughing at him and felt yourself bringing him back to a kiss. You were there with him as you ran through the trees until you stopped and climbed up, where was this again? "Come on, Loki, I now a place we won't be found." You giggled to him- no- you heard yourself giggling. Was this a dream anymore? With the growing headache this must be a nightmare. Since when do you have vivid dreams like this? Your apartment looked different as you danced around it with Loki. "I bet you'll look just as beautiful in an Asgardian dress. Like a true Asgardian goddess." But no- he couldn't have told you that there. You felt ecstatic as he leaned in to kiss you right there, it's your first kiss. No, it wasn't. You felt it all, you knew this was inevitable. Did you know that? Your head was spinning as you saw that golden necklace you found in your drawer. "It has my symbol on it, two snakes circling each other," biting each other's tails. No, you must have read it somewhere. Then you walked towards the spot in the park that you loved, at least that was familiar. "You will get a cold if you keep sitting in the rain, don't you have an umbrella?"Loki looked at you, he seems so much younger, you got shivers from his blue eyes. Your head hurt more and more, you didn't know where you were. All you felt was confusion. You saw the bifrost and there you saw the man with the golden eyes greeting you, he knew you- he knew everything. Did you know? "Do you remember?" Loki came home to you, with a fake smile which turned real when he said "I love you." He loved you. In Asgard yet again, why were you saying goodbye? "Promise you'll get me back, Loki." And then he bowed- but you already knew he was going to do that, the dream didn't have to tell you- "I'll see you around, my love." You remembered.
"I'm going to miss you, even if I won't know it." You did miss him, you missed him all along.
You waked, shot up from Loki's grip, with a hand over your mouth. You could hear the hushed whispers of memories in the silence of the bedroom; you could feel him on the way home even when you had nothing but his necklace; you could see it all now in a kaleidoscope of memories playing with the lights out. You were in love with him- you were in love with him over and over again. You never stopped loving him.
Now you saw it all: yes Loki was your lover, but before that- a lot of things happened before that, he was your best friend.
Loki woke up to the strange look on your face, rising up to be face to face with you. You paused before looking at him and he teared up at what he saw.
"You're my best friend." He saw you- his love- and now you saw him. And he knew what it was, you came back to him.
He took you in and held you close in a hug, laughing as tears ran both of your faces.
"So, 1989." He brought you in for a chaste kiss.
"What?"
"It's been 1989 days since the last time you remembered me." You chuckled.
"Took me that long?"
"It felt like an eternity." You tentatively caressed his cheek.
"Why did you give up eternity for me?" you asked him and he laughed as if it was obvious.
"The only way to survive eternity is to be able to appreciate each moment- and I couldn't do that, not without you." He pressed a kiss to the palm of your hand, "and now- now I get to spend my eternity with you."
You leaned in to kiss him once more, savoring it, you knew: You were ready to fall in love with him all over again.
You lost each other, but you found each other again, and somehow that was everything.

But is wasn't a big deal for you, since this is your job and you're determined to act professionally. You had it all figured out, or so you thought, until the moment you were out face to face with Dacre. Kisses
The only reason why you didn't talk to Dacre at the airport was because you thought you'd have a couple of hours before shooting. But you were wrong. The flight was terribly late, and you had no choice but to go straight to set, and as soon as you got there, you and Dacre were pulled apart so you could get ready.
Already in your outfit, you stare at the mirror as your hairstylist gives the final touches, mumbling in response to whatever she's talking about. Your leg is bouncing nervously, as you regret not having called Dacre yesterday night. Or driven to his house. Anything really. Maybe it would a lot easier if you two had some time, but life has a way of complicating things.
“And you're ready,” Laura says and you manage to smile and thank her. “Now go before James comes yelling at us again.”
“Alright.” Mumbling under your breath, you stand up and leave the dressing room only to be rushed into the parking lot. Dacre is already there, talking to James. The wind makes you shiver and you brace yourself... Well, you think it's the wind that makes you shiver, what else could it be?
“...despite the delay, we'll get everything done in time so–” James swallows the words when he sees you. “(Y/N), great. Hope you made a safe trip here. I was just talking to Dacre about the upcoming scenes you two will shoot. There's just so much chemistry that I had to add more kisses.” Oh... You should've read the new script. “But I'm sure it won't be a problem since you two seem to be getting along very well.”
“Yeah, of course...” The first thing you'll do when you get to your hotel room is read every single line of this scrip. It'll be better if you're mentally prepared for what's to come.
But you're not prepared for this.
“Alright, everybody into position.” The director announces before walking away, leaving you and Dacre alone. Well, not exactly since you can't ignore the camera guys, the microphones... All the rest.
“Sorry, we couldn't talk before... This.” Dacre apologizes, but you shake your head slightly.
“But we will.” Nodding more to yourself than to him, you hope nobody is listening to this conversation. “Right?”
“Absolutely.”
“Alright, guys, c'mon,” James says and Dacre walks away as you take a deep breath. Thinking over the lines, you let yourself fall into character, remembering the backstory that leads to this moment. “Everybody set? Ok... Action!”
Turning around, you look at Dacre as he crosses the parking lot. “I can't believe you took almost an hour to get here, Hargrove!” You yell, walking to end the distance between the two of you. “There's a freaking Demidog in the pool!”
“The thing is dead. So why the hurry?” He flashes Billy's a cocky smile, and you struggle to keep the irritated expression on your face. “Chill.”
“Don't tell me to chill. Can't you miss one single date?” Giving action to Amy's jealousy attack, you punch Dacre in the chest, and he gives a small step back as he rolls his eyes. “Not even when there's an interdimensional monster involved?”
“Why the hell you always think I'm with some girl?” When you move to push him again, Billy grabs Amy's wrists. This was improvised, you think. Or is it on the new script? Dacre's grip is soft though, and you put on an annoyed face as you try to set free, uselessly.
“Because that's where you always are.” Putting a frustrating undertone in the sentence, you sigh. “But it doesn't matter. We have a much bigger fish to fry.”
“The damn thing is dead, it can wait.”
You get why Amy falls for Billy. Or are your fellings for Dacre clouding your judgment? Putting up a fight, you try to free yourself of his grip, making sure to stumble backward until your back hits a car. “Let go of me! I'm tired of this shit.” Slowly, Amy gives up fighting. Physically and emotionally. The moment you stop moving, Dacre let's go of your wrists, his arms coming to trap you in between the car and his body.
“I know you're jealous. I just need to figure out why.” Billy leans closer, and you can feel yourself drowning in Dacre's eyes, more beautiful than the ocean.
“I said it once and I'll say it again. I won't be one of your many flings...” Your voice is low, and as the cameras move closer, you know it's about to happen. God, it's so damn hard to keep up the act. You can feel Dacre's chest every time he breaths in, and you want to pull him even closer. “...so... Back the hell off.” Putting your hand on his chest, you know that the action that would make more sense here would be Amy trying to push him away again... But you fail to do that, Amy slowly disappearing as you break character for the hundredth time. Instead of pushing him away, your fingers slowly clench around the collar of his jacket, grabbing it. Dacre's eyes burn on you, and you know he wants it to.
“Who said I want you to be a fling?”
Then you don't know who moves first. If it's Dacre who leans forward or if it's you, pulling him. But it happens, fast and needy. First kisses shouldn't be like this. They're supposed to be short and sweet, shy even. But part of you is thankful for the situation you're in right now, because it justifies how you cling onto him, how deep the kiss is, hot and passionate. Billy and Amy were both craving for this moment, but so were you. And so were Dacre because his grip around you is tight, his lips keeping a quick pace, one that you're more than happy to follow. You hand find its way to his hair, as he holds the small of your back, needing to have you closer, if that even possible. The cameras are long forgotten, and there's no set, no show, nothing. Just his taste, fresh and sweet, inebriating. There's something in the background, some familiar sound trying to reach you, but you push it away, ignore it, tiptoeing even more to try and match Dacre's high, wishing he would lift you up.
“CUT!” James' voice sounds like a freaking thunder, and it wakes you up. With your heart beating insanely fast, you suddenly go back to reality, probably blushing harder than ever as you step away from Dacre. He takes a while to let go of you, intense eyes locked on yours as he tries to catch his breath, falling out of the stupor too. “That was... Good. That was good.” James says, and when you look around, you notice people staring. That wasn't... Discreet, and now you know that what you heard was James yelling ‘cut’ half a dozen times.
Running a hand through your hair, you have to fight back the urge to touch your lips, the kiss burning in your head... You really hope James will need another take.
“Are you ok?” Dacre asks, taking a quick look around before taking your hand in his.
“Yeah...” Biting your lip, you nod, staring at him. This just gave you a rush of adrenaline, making you feel brave. “More than ok, actually.”
Dacre's lips break into a smile, his thumb caressing the back of your hand. “Well, judging by James' obsession with the perfect lighting, I bet he'll need a couple more takes to get it done.”
“I really hope so. I–” You're cut short for a commotion. Several people move to surround James, who soon starts cursing. “What's going on?” You mutter, exchanging a glance with Dacre before walking over the sea of people. That's when you see the rest of the cast, and you just now remember they were here too... And they just saw everything... Millie won't let you hear the end of it.
“Who the hell did this?” James shouts, and a lot of people start apologizing. Giving the others a glance, you notice they have their eyes glued to their phones.
“Oh, no...” Something leaked, you're so damn sure. Rushing to the guys, you stand beside Noah, taking a look at his screen. “What happened?”
“The kiss. The first you shot. Someone here recorded and published on YouTube ten minutes ago.” As Noah speaks, he hands you over his phone and you read the news article he was reading. ‘Exciting scene from Stranger Things 3 leaks: Amy Halpert and Billy Hargrove are definitely a couple’.
“Shit.” You mutter, leaning closer to Dacre so he can read it too. “Who did it?”
“We have no idea,” Natalia answers, looking up from her phone. “But I watched it. Whoever did this stopped recording right before the cameras fell.”
This sucks. Giving Noah his cellphone back, you sigh. “It's really mean to do that. There's a lot of operations to keep the set free from curious eyes and someone from the inside leaks it? That's ridiculous.”
“James will sue whoever did this,” Dacre adds.
“Excuse me, guys.” Ryan comes, a tablet on his hand and a very worried expression on his face. “James wants you to stay here until we find out who did this.” He says, giving you a quick glance before looking back at his tablet. “You got the trailers here so... I think you'll be comfortable. Sorry, but James is–”
“RYAN!”
“James' orders. Sorry.” Rolling his eyes and sighing, he gives his back at you.
“We'll have to stay? I didn't do it.” Gaten exclaims, clearly pissed.
“Me neither. I was too busy watching the kiss with my own eyes.” Natalia complains but gives you a glance.
Well, you would like to get to your bed, but complaining won't help and you're exhausted from the flight. “I'm calling it a night.” You mutter, upset that this whole thing happened. The leaking, of course. “I'll take a shower to wash the 80's from my skin and I'll go see my trailer.” You haven't seen it yet, since it's meant for the Battle of Starcout scenes, which you'll probably shoot throughout the night.
“Me too,” Dacre says, then turning at you. “I'll find your trailer after if that's alright.”
“Sure.” Smiling, you blush to feel all those eyes on you. “See you soon, then.”
• • •
You're lucky to have your baggage here. Maybe the flight being delayed wasn't so bad as it seemed. After showering and handing the outfit back to your stylist, you follow her directions to where the trailers are. They're in the very back of the set, in a large area, set side by side. You're surprised to see the trailer doesn't look like a trailer on the inside, but like an actual house, only a little tiny. There's a main space with a couch, a table, and a TV, then a kitchen with a stove, an oven, and a sink. A bathroom with a shower. And on the very back, the thing you needed the most after this long day. A well-equipaded room with a huge bed. Smiling, you let your piece of baggage fall as you climb on the bed, lying on your back and sighing in relief.
Jumping back to your feet, you decide to change into something more comfortable. So you exchange your jeans for light gray sweatpants and a black spaghetti strap tank top before lying back down. You're happy you ate on the plane, or else you'd be starving right now.
But despite all the thoughts in your head, you can't help but come back to the main event of the day. Your fingers come to touch your lips, as you close your eyes to bring the memory back. You're upset you didn't get to do more takes. The cold and nervousness you were feeling vanished so quickly, at the same moment his lips collided on yours. So hot and intense. Breathtaking.
You're dragged away from your thoughts by a knock on the door. Dacre. He told you he'd come. Taking a deep breath and fixing your simple clothes the best you can, you make your way to the door, thinking you should've picked something better to put on. “Hey.” You mutter when you swing the door open, gesturing for him to come in. “Did you see your trailer?”
“Yeah. I stopped by to leave my luggage.” He answers, stepping inside and looking down at you. “These things look bigger from the inside.”
“Definitely.” Clearing your throat, you gesture at the back of the trailer, to the bedroom. You know how awkward it may be, but there's a burning on your back that won't let you sit on the couch. “I hope you don't mind but could we talk while I lie down? My back hurts real bad from the five hours we had to spend at the airport.”
“I don't mind at all.” Nodding, you walk back to the bedroom, throwing yourself on the bed. “So. Who do you think leaked the video?” Dacre asks as he sits on the edge.
“I have no idea. All I know is that is wasn't me. And it wasn't you.” Staring at the ceiling, you try not to feel very self-conscious right now. “I was too busy on scene.”
“Me too.” He mutters. “Where does it hurt, by the way?”
“On my shoulder blades.” You answer, looking at him. He looks very handsome, as usual, despite wearing a simple white T-shirt. “Those airport chairs weren't very nice to me.”
“I can give you a massage if you want.” Dacre stares at you dead serious, which means he's not joking.
You wish you had the adrenaline rush from earlier, so it'd push the words right off your mouth, and maybe you wouldn't be blushing. “Uhm... If you want to.”
“Alright, lie on your stomach.” He says, taking off his shoes and climbing on the bed.
“Fine.” Mumbling, more to yourself than to him, you roll over, grabbing a pillow to rest your head. Breathing deeply, you feel the mattress moving under Dacre's weight as he places himself beside you.
“Let me know if it hurts, alright?” The moment you nod, you feel his hands on your back. And he must know what he's doing because it does feel good. The butterflies on your stomach are wide awake now, since Dacre has his hands on you, strong but delicate at the same time, rubbing and softly pushing your muscles.
“If I knew you were good at this I'd have asked.” You say with a smile, pulling the small amount of hair that still falls on your back out of his way. Dacre gets this as a permission to put a little more pressure, just enough to make you relax. His fingers slide under the fabric of your shirt, but you don't mind.
“Glad I can help.”
You just mumble in response, suddenly feeling your tiredness taking over as you close your eyes shut. Falling asleep now is the last thing you want because it's so good to be around Dacre, and you think you may finally understand where you both stand in all this situation. What you're feelings are and if they can take you somewhere.
“It's ok, I'm alright now.” You speak up, moving to lie on your side. “If you continue I'll fall asleep in a matter of seconds.”
“If you're tired I can go.” He gestures at the door, already moving.
“No. Stay.” Bursting out, you sit up, grabbing his arm. You can't believe what you just said. What you just asked of him. “If you want, of course.”
Dacre stands still for a while, frozen before he settles down on the bed again. “Alright.” You can tell he's tired too, by the way his eyes are heavy.
“Let's play a game. Who sleeps first loses.” The idea comes suddenly to your head, and it seems to lighten up the mood.
“And what will I get when I win?” He has a cocky smile on his lips as he lies down, facing you.
“When? Don't get overconfident.” Moving a little to get comfortable, you take a deep breath when your eyes set upon his. Blue and calming. “I'm gonna win.” You say, winking at him.
“I really doubt that.” As he speaks, Dacre brings his hand to your face, fingers sliding from your forehead to your eyelids, forcing you to close your eyes. “You'll lose, so better start making peace with that.” His voice, low and deep, sends a shiver down your spine.
You were just about to answer, to say something, when you notice how his hand lingers, moving to caress your cheek, thumb rubbing the soft skin on your jaw until it reaches your chin. Slowly, painfully slow, it comes to your lower lip. His touch burns, making your head spin around. The memory of the kiss fills your head, and you know you want to do that again.
Swallowing hard, you gather all the courage you can to move closer to him, ending all the space between your bodies and, being really brave for once, going for the thing you want. That you need the most right now. You connect your lips to his, feeling relieved as if a burden was suddenly lifted when you feel him kissing you back. Dacre's hand remain on your cheek, and yours rest on his chest, feeling his muscles under the soft fabric of his shirt. The kiss is slower this time, as if you're both discovering, unrevealing each other. But you don't mind. You love it as much as you loved the other one.
It sucks when you have to break apart to breathe. But when you do, you remain close, your foreheads touching because you just can't force yourself to pull away from him now. “Sorry, I... I had to.” You mutter under your breath.
“It's alright.” Dacre's hand comes to encircle your waist, keeping you close. “If you didn't, I'd have to.” He giggles. “I've been dying to kiss you, (Y/N).”
“Me too.” You whisper. “What you said in the message... I feel the same way. That kiss... I really wanted it and that wasn't Amy, it was me.” Maybe it's the sleep winning over you, but the words just come out. You need him to know. You need to let it out and you hope it means something to him. “Dacre, I... I really like you. A lot.”
You blush when he smiles, but soon enough a giggle escapes your lips. “Then I'd like to take you on a second date. As soon as James lets us out of this set.”
“I'd love that.” Giggling like a teenager, you kiss him again, a peck on the lips that linger a little too long. But not long enough. “Uhm... You can crash here if you want.” You decide to offer since you just noticed you're already on the bed, all tangled on each other. “I think we already reached the point of no return here.”
“I agree...”
“Are we... Are we going to sleep like this?” You ask, putting a strand of hair behind your ear.
“However you like.”
Biting your lip to hold back a smile, you turn around. Dacre is fast to hold you, a strong arm pushing your back against his chest. “Is this ok?”
“Yeah.” You both move to get more comfortable and you lay your hand on top of his, on your stomach.
You've never been like that with anyone, so close, so... Intimate. But you like it. And you can't believe it's Dacre who's holding you this way.

A Grab Bag of Shushy Reviews
Hey Shushy here! As some know I'm taking some time off from the podcasts to focus on enjoying my free time (and watching whatever the fuck I want every week) but now I've watched a bunch of stuff and I have nowhere to talk about it so get ready for a 12 paragraph grab bag of movie reviews! (This thing is a real novel and I don’t care how you feel about that.)
I'll be reviewing them in descending order of how I felt about them:
TITANE - 9/10
Goddamn this movie fucks. The first act of this movie is crazier than the third act of any superhero or action property that's come out in the last thirty years, this movie starts at 120 MPH. The second act slows down the plot a bit and the rest of the movie is a surreal slow-burn but that's also what makes it truly great even if it does feel a bit slow in the last half hour. (The final scene does match the insanity of the beginning though and the ending is great.)
Check this shit out! A lady fucks a car.
PERFECT BLUE - 8.5/10
A great anime from the late 90's with social commentary that still really resonates today. The animation and voice acting are incredible and it's only like 80 minutes long and has a quick-moving plot that hits you hard and often. It's a mostly fantastic movie with a last minute twist that I wasn't super crazy about but works as part of the story it's telling, maybe if I was watching this before the Me Too movement happened I'd give it a higher score. It's also got a genuinely disturbing scene of simulated sexual assault so just know that going in.
There's a scene early on where the main character uses Netscape Navigator to get onto the internet and I had not thought about that app since the last time I used it probably in like the year 2000 and I instantly felt like I was a thousand years old, it was awesome.
LAMB 7.5/10
I was really excited for this movie after I saw the trailer and while it's a good movie it's definitely not as much of a blast as the trailer implied. I saw this less than 48 hours after seeing Titane (which weirdly has similar story elements except Titane starts on meth and then switches to heroin while Lamb is like experiencing a full mushroom trip including the slow build-up.)
The first act of Lamb definitely feels like you're watching someone just do their Animal Crossing chores, in my opinion it could have been trimmed down to Perfect Blue length and been a tighter movie. Once the movie introduces the child it gets way more interesting (especially once you get a decent look at her) and then it's a pleasant slow burn until the final scene which randomly is insane and then the movie ends. I was really upset that they didn't keep going because if the plot had an additional 20 minutes of story that went on past the events of the final scene man that could have been a 9 or a 10, like I was so ready for whatever was about to happen and then it ended. This could have been Midsommar or The Lighthouse-level great but they stopped far too short.
Better than Saint Maud though.
FREE GUY - 5.5/10
I watched this illegally on my buddy's PLEX account and I'm so glad I didn't pay for it. I know a lot of people in here were raving about it but I really think you all were just so excited to be back inside a movie theater again that you didn't care if the movie you were watching was generic as fuck. Because goddamn this movie is a pandering mess, it really wants to remind you that Fortnite exists, and I usually will forgive a movie quite a lot if it gives me Ryan Reynolds being funny but outside of a couple lines (none of which I can even recall right now but I do remember laughing) it wasn't really that funny. The action was also too CGI-y to be exciting and you can tell that this was filmed before Disney bought Fox and that after the deal went through they went back and did some re-shoots because there's a scene with literally only Ryan Reynolds in it that goes through multiple shameless Disney-owned IP references (Marvel, Star Wars, etc) that was so fucking obnoxious it took me out of the movie and made me yell "FUCK YOU!" at my screen.
And while the plot is serviceable and most of the cast is fine let me tell you that this movie kind of ruined Taika Waititi for me, he's the villain that's trying to be super funny in every single scene he's in and miserably fails. He's painfully bad in this and as someone who's loved pretty much every movie I've watched him direct (including Jojo Rabbit which blew me away) I really can't believe how horrible he was in this. His character in this is the exact opposite of Korg. He was more charming and likeable when he was playing Hitler. He's not funny whenever he's trying to be and then when the plot calls on him to be scary and evil he's not good at that either, they should have cast Matt Berry instead.
(Also why was Channing Tatum in two scenes? Was that a cameo or has he become less famous over the years?)
Oh I remember one of the jokes I liked. It was about gun violence in America. It was pretty spot-on. Ryan Reynolds didn't even say it, Jodie Comer did. She deserved so much better than this movie.
MUPPETS HAUNTED MANSION - 4/10
Let me start by saying I generally watch all Muppets stuff for the most part. I’m not a completionist by any means but I loved Jason Segel’s The Muppets and was really let down by Muppets Most Wanted. I’m probably one of like five people in the country however that actually really enjoyed their sitcom from a few years back that ripped off The Office (I thought it was pretty interesting that Kermit broke up with Piggy and I liked his new pig girlfriend and honestly like I totally got why he did it, she was hot. I’m not ashamed to admit this.) I don’t think it was an amazing show by any means but I loved The Muppets being in a property more aimed at adults again because my least favorite Muppets is Muppets directly aimed at children, these characters are at their best when it’s aiming at both simultaneously (The Muppet Movie is a 10/10 masterpiece and The Great Muppet Caper and The Muppet Christmas Carol are both all-time classics.)
Which brings us to this thing. It reeks of being whipped together on the fly during COVID (90% of the guest stars were clearly filmed against green screens) and while there are a couple good jokes and like one single good song (and it’s NOT the abysmal Dancing In The Moonlight cover everyone awkwardly dances to at the very end) this is a massive letdown. This has the same energy of those lazy Simpsons Disney Plus shorts, like I know that Disney wants originals for its streaming service but the stuff they shit out for it feels extra shat out. This thing is only like 54 minutes long and yet it drags. You can tell whether or not a Muppets thing is being made by someone who deeply loves The Muppets (like Jason Segel’s movie) but this felt really haphazardly assembled. Not even Will Arnett being the most prominent human character could save it (and Taraji P. Henson was legitimately painful.) Bad plot, very few good jokes or songs and really bad editing especially in the last 20 minutes. Do better, Muppets.
And that’s it! If you saw any of these movies and disagree with my opinion you’re wrong.

Love bites || (3)
pairing: jj maybank x reader [eventually] || rafe cameron x reader [currently]
warnings: cursing, typos.
summary: it was supposed to be a good summer for you, the last one in the obx before going to college, the last one with your friends and family. Unfortunately, a sudden and mysterious death is about to completely change your life, pushing you directly into a brand new world and into a very sexy vampire’s arms.
A/N: part three, let’s go! :)
part two || masterlist || part four
Tumblr media
“Is everything alright, Y/N?” Rafe asked, looking at you with worry and stroking your shoulder. You looked up, eyes scanning the crowed country club. “You're way too calm and not even touching your food.” He said, pointing at your lunch.
You nodded, giving him a tiny smile. “I’m fine.” You replied, falling back against the chair in a sigh. “It's just—” You paused, wishing you could tell him what happened last night. “It's nothing, really. I’m just tired, it's probably time for me to leave.”
“Wait, already?” Topper asked, the two boys watching you with furrowed eyebrows as you picked your jacket. “But, we were talking about my birthday party. I count on your presence.”
“Yeah…” You stood up. “My parents don't want me to leave the house at night anymore. They think it's too dangerous.” Topper nodded, with a disappointed expression on his face. “I’ll try, okay?” You winked, before walking towards the country club’s exist.
“Wait, Y/N!” Rafe shouted, following you. “Let me walk you to your car.” You giggled, putting on your jacket and walking out with the tall boy. “So, how about we—” He paused, distracted by your beauty. “Shit, I—” He laughed nervously, scratching his neck.
You knew exactly what he wanted to ask you: which made you feel uncomfortable and guilty. You guys have been hooking up for the past three weeks, after agreeing to keep this as a secret with no attachment and you never expected Rafe to be the one breaking his own rule.
“Y/N?” A familiar voice called, saving you from another embarrassing moment with Rafe. “Can we talk for a second?” You turned around, your eyes meeting JJ’s blue ones as he approached you two.
“Why the hell are you on our side of the island, Maybank?” Rafe asked, looking down at the Pogue. “What do you even want from her, huh? Stay away.”
“Rafe, don't act like an asshole.” You said, smacking his toned chest with the back of your hand, hitting the fabric of his blue polo. “I’ll see you later, alright? Don't worry about it.” The Kook boy nodded, clenching his jaw and walking back inside, he couldn't understand why you'd be willing to talk with a Pogue, especially JJ Maybank.
“Nice boyfriend.” JJ said, both hands hiding in his shorts’s pockets, his tanned skin glowing under the sun. No matter how awkward the situation was, you couldn’t deny his charm, he’s definitely one of the most attractive men on the island. “You have good taste.” He joked, smirking.
“He's not my—” You paused, rolling your eyes at him, annoyed by his amused expression. “Whatever, it’s none of your business anyway. Why are you here?” You asked, walking towards the parking lot. “I asked you to leave me alone last night, right?”
The blond boy sighed, following your steps. “We really need to talk about what happened.” You both stopped at your vehicle. “This is serious.”
“I can't right now, my parents are waiting for me at—”
“They're both working today, don't lie to me.” He cut off, creeping you out: your eyes widening at his words. “I went to your house first, before coming here that's why—“
“JJ.” You said, sighing. “What do you want from me? You wanna talk about you wandering around a crime scene in the middle of the night and attacking me?”
He laughed. “What are you talking about, Y/N?”We were both doing the exact same thing and i didn't mean to scare you.” You smirked back. “I mean— I wasn't doing the same thing, just wandering near my house.”
“Yeah, okay.” You rolled your eyes. “You scared the shit out of me.” You opened the car door, but he pushed it back, closing it. “What the fuck, JJ?” He remained silent, leaning against the car. “I— I wanted to see the crime scene because my friend died and—”
“Cut the bullshit!” He said, crossing his strong arms. “You wanted to see the crime scene again because you learned something earlier that day.” You scoffed, scratching your head. “Right.”
“I don't know what you're talking about.” He sighed at your stubbornness. “But, it seems like you're the one hiding something. We were a few kilometers away from your house, JJ.” He looked around, making sure no one was listening to your conversation. “Why did you freaked out and—”
“You weren't supposed to be there.” He said, his face leaning towards you, his nose almost touching yours. “You could've been killed, Y/N.” He murmured, looking straight at you. “I saved you, from him.” You remained silent, looking at the blond boy with confusion. “We can't talk about it here, i’ll come to your house in a few hours, okay?” He asked, before walking back towards the club, not giving you enough time to answer.
“Wait, JJ!” You turned around, searching for the Pogue boy and discovering an empty parking lot: he was gone.
You were waiting for him on the porch, biting your nails through the stress and impatience, a book in hand. This whole thing was creeping you out, but your curiosity remained stronger. And now, you were about to share your first real conversation and moment with the Pogue. After a few minutes: he came out of nowhere, stepping on the porch with nothing but a backpack on his covered shoulders, a relaxed expression on his face.
“Oh, hey!” You greeted, closing the book and standing up. You turned around to place it on the chair. “Do you wanna come—” You paused, turning back around and gasping as you noticed the blond boy standing right in front of you. “Shit—” You breathed, touching your chest. “You need to stop doing this, JJ.”
“Don't invite me in.” He replied, glancing at the front door. “We're gonna talk here, it's much safer.” He took a step back, looking around him, running a hand through his messy blond locks.
“Okay…” You replied, frowning at him. “Can you tell me what's going on, JJ? Because right now nothing makes sense and it's stressing me out.” He turned to look at me. “If we are in danger, why are we—”
“Promise me something first, then we’ll talk.” He said, leaning against the fence next to you. “Promise me to keep my secret.” You nodded, crossing your arms, you just wanted this to be done already. “I'm serious, this is not a game. It could get you killed.”
“JJ!” You whined, frustration washing you over.
“It wasn't an animal!” He shouted, following your tone. “Technically it wasn't, someone killed Kelce.” You laughed nervously, shaking your head. “Y/N.”
“What the fuck are you talking about, JJ?” You asked, getting angry. “My friend died, why are you doing this to me?” You tried to walk away, the blond boy grabbing your arm and turning you towards him, pulling you closer. “Don't touch me!” You shouted, using both hands to push him away, breaking free from his grip. “This is insane. Leave me alone!”
“Listen to me, Y/N.” He said calmly, raising his hands. “I’m telling you this, because you are in danger. What you did last night, was really stupid.” You snorted, looking down. “It was a vampire.” You looked back at him, shaking your head with a laugh. “I know this is—”
“You're crazy.” You replied, pointing at him and stepping back towards the front door. “Stay away from me and my friends, JJ.” You warned, tears emerging from the corner of your eyes.
He understood your reaction, he wasn't even able to believe it himself at first. “The vampire who killed your friend, almost killed you last night. I chased him away—”
“Shut up!” You snapped, rubbing your face. “I can't do this right now, it's too much, this is ridiculous.” JJ walked up to you, gently grabbing your hands, wanting to make you feel better. “What are you doing, don't—”
“I know this is a lot, Y/N.” He said calmly, using his thumb to caress the back of your hand, the action relaxing you a bit. “But you need to trust me, because i won't be able to protect you otherwise.”
“Why do you even want to protect me? What the fuck is going on, JJ?” You asked, getting lost in his deep blue eyes, his own ocean calming the battle growling inside you. “We barely know each other—”
“Because i’m pretty sure you’re his next target, and because i’m not like them.” He murmured, not breaking eye contact. “I’m not a killer, Y/N. You're safe with me.”
You frowned, pulling your hands away. “What are you talking about?” You narrowed your eyes. “What do you mean by i'm not a killer?” He looked down, nervous to admit it. “JJ!”
He looked up, swallowing hard. “I— I’m a vampire too, Y/N.” You gasped in horror, breathing heavily as you moved back, trying to approach the door as you looked at him, your heartbeat increasing. “I’m not gonna hurt you, i saved your life for a reason! But you needed to know the truth.”
True he did save your life, you thought. “What's wrong with me?” You asked out of nowhere, confusing him. “I— I was supposed to have a good and simple summer. But, my friend died and now this is— ” You paused, repulsing the urge to cry. “I can't do this right now.”
“Hey, hey, hey.” JJ whispered, walking up to you, your sadness breaking his heart. “Nothing’s wrong with you, Y/N.” You nodded, biting your lower-lip. “I just told you my biggest secret and—” He laughed, looking down. “And, you really think there is something wrong with you? I’m literally not breathing anymore.”
You couldn’t think straight anymore, looking down at your feet, wandering if this was real. JJ took your hands, the sound of your own heartbeat echoing through your head: he knew the feeling. You tried to remain calm, closing your eyes, breathing in and out, picturing yourself far away from here, far away from this mess, until a memory from your childhood came back to you.
You were around seven years old, sitting on the couch, listening to one of your dad’s stories about the OBX and his mysteries and family rituals: they were mostly scary and intriguing, you always enjoyed it. You thought they were nothing more than products of his imagination: always pretty impressed by the amount of details he was giving you. Maybe it wasn’t coming from his imagination, but from his own experiences.
“We all know how much your daughter is nosy.” “We better keep an eye on her.”
“Holy shit...” You murmured, opening your eyes. “My dad—” You looked up at JJ. “He used to talk about mystic creatures and—” You paused, breathing heavily. “This can’t be real.”
“I know, it’s a lot.” JJ said, still holding your hands. You sighed, briefly looking at his parted lips. “I— You can trust me, i’ll never do anything to hurt you.”
“Tell me everything, JJ.”

I like the donghua because the animation is cool enough for video editors to go ham with their AMVs and I can spend hours just watching the green flames in wwx’s return edited a hundred different ways. it slaps every time ngl
but seriously, the donghua is Not Great in a lot of aspects, but they worked so hard on wwx’s powers! it looks so good and like, properly powerful if that makes sense? cql did their absolute best with a very limited budget, and it looked great, but I felt like we couldn’t really get a grasp on the breadth of the yiling patriarch’s capability in it. the scary vibe felt like it was more the actor than anything else, but that’s just an opinion! pls don’t come for me
the voice is acting for it was great, and some of the scenes do hit pretty hard! also wwx looked big as the yp, I always envisioned og wwx as a broad, kinda beefy sort of dude, so I liked his demonic cultivator design a lot! the only issue is that it feels a little scrubbed clean of character, and the story ends up a little shounen-ish? could just be me though.
at the end of the day, cql is superior in almost every way, but nothing really beats out 2d animation in portraying fantastical fight scenes, so the donghua is a solid second place for me. the original novel will always have my gratitude and appreciation for being the source of all of this in the first place, but cql was what endeared the characters and made them real and relatable to me. every other version than the live action is just sort of like, bonus content? like I don’t really need it, but it’s there and I’ll enjoy it while I prep for yet another cql rewatch
yeah i think most of what's good about the donghua is what cql couldn't achieve, for budget reasons as well as the limitations that live action shows inherently have. so yeah that includes most fight scenes (and i love how the donghua really plays with the more 'magical' part of cultivation, like the glowing seals they draw and stuff), sword surfing (which looks So cool here), and wwx's powers specifically.
about wwx as yllz specifically, i like his design too but most of all i'm like, really into his transformation into the yllz. the switch is a lot more sudden than in cql and even though i definitely prefer the cql version, it's interesting to see how different he is after his burial mounds adventure. and also, the voice actor for wwx has an insane range here, going from the happy and teasing and kinda annoying wwx to the angry, jaded and vengeful yllz
honestly it's gonna be difficult for me to rank the mdzs adaptations? bc for me cql really is the only adaptations that's like. actually worth getting into lmao but for the sake of this conversation i would say cql is def at the top and the novel is at the bottom. and im surprising myself by saying this but i think i prefer the audio drama over the donghua? i've said this many times before but i just think it's such a waste that the audio drama includes almost everything i hate about the novel, because the voice acting and music and editing are all so good and it could have been great if it just didn't have the same awful scenes and characterization from the novel. it's really frustrating. but neither of them hold a candle to cql so it doesn't really matter anyway

Dancing lessons
Barry Berkman x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Barry is finally cast in a feature, the problem? He said he could dance and now he can either disappoint Sally or found a way to learn some steps.
Warnings: Swearing, blood, violence, guns, cheating maybe.
Part 1 ● Part 2 ● Part 3 ● Part 4 ● Part 5 ● Part 6 ● Part 7 ● Part 8 ● Epilogue
Part 3
The cheerful notes of the Pas de deux of Swan Lake's third act started to play and you were all alone in the studio, the girls had been practicing to that and it was still in the record player, you were liying on the floor, and your pointe shoes were next to you.
Barry have left about fifteen minutes before leaving your head troubled with his words. After on long hour of practice he was finally getting somewhere with the slower rhythms of tango, but there was a long way ahead of him to learn his routine.
Tired he sitted on the wooden floor looking at himself in the mirror, and you went to sit next to him.
"Well that's an improvement" You told him and he gave you a nod, and a smile while he tried to catch his breath "You should be proud, is more than I expected"
"It's all you, you are an excellent teacher" He said sincerely "I just hope all this work is worthy"
"Worthy or not I still get paid" you wink at him and stood up giving him a hand to do the same.
"Of course, I meant..." He took your hand, and stood next to you "I accidentally listen to Janice and Andre fighting on the phone, and it sounded like they were removing the scene, I mean I had the other scenes but I don't want to know I have spend the last 5 days rubbing Voltatrol on my calf and knees for nothing"
"Well I wouldn't say for nothing, you have learned a new skill and I'm sure you may take your girlfriend out to dance and she would appreciate it"
"Yeah, once she is not busy" he sounded hurt, but you didn't feel it was your place to ask, and didn't needed because he kept talking "I mean I know that she is working on something she loves, and I'm proud of her and I love her but..."
"You wish she had more time for you?" You asked, interested since this was the first real personal conversation you had with him.
"Yeah, you know. More like you" He said and you gave him a very confused look "Well you and your husband, I wish we were like that" he added nervously.
"Like what?" Sick of each other to stubborn to quit your mind said but your face continued smiling.
"Well you work in something you love, and you are really good at it, and I always have the feeling that I'm not enough for Sally, is not like she says it, is just that she always have something more important, and I fear one day she will found someone more important than me" You nodded with your lips extremely closed trying not to be mad at him since you actually didn't know him. "Also you work at home that's good too" the innocence on wich he said it made you furious for some reason.
"You had no idea what you are talking about" you told him, again trying to not sound too harsh and not succeeding "Lesson is over you can leave"
"What? No, I meant it as a compliment, you have the best job..."
"Shut it!" You scream and he looked shock at you "I'm sorry I didn't mean to yell, but that's just stupid you know? I don't mean to offend you, but you are at a studio 6 to 7 hours every morning surround by beautiful actresses, and here two hours every day with a woman basically rubbing on you, think about that for a second" You told him but he didn't say anything "If she didn't have her show, and she had to sit at home waiting for you, I bet you would not consider you are letting her down"
"Well no, because..." He started but you make it shut down with a movement of your hand.
"Because you are the big guy, the man, the one allowed to have dreams and follow them even if you have to put other people's needs apart. Maybe think about that and then you can talk" You notice your chest going up and down quickly and you were thankful you were still on the heels because on your normal level you would have look ridiculous screaming at someone that tall.
"That's what people call toxic masculinity isn't it?" He asked, surprisingly calm
"Get out" You said pointing at the door and turning your back at him
"Yeah, I thought so" He said and pick up his stuff without going to change back to his regular clothes "Same hour tomorrow?" He asked by the door
"Of course" You said and with that he was gone.
As the third act was coming to his end and you could clearly picture in your mind Odile and Rothbart entering the palace, you stood up and put on the shoes, Barry was wrong of course, in expecting a servant woman as a partner, but that was not what hurt you, you made a bow to an invisible Siegfried and make a couple movements to get loose, Mr. Block dare to say that you were happy? Well at least your deception was working and you look like you were, and like you love that job, Odil's coda started and you start making fouettés, one and you could feel your leg shaking but you continued, even when you were moving from your place and in no way at the speed that you wanted, two, three... by the sixth you were sure you could get to twenty, but then at the ninth that old damaged ankle gave in and the stinging pain made you tremble and fall to the ground, but it was okay because once the sharp edge of a chair broke into your skin and everything went black you were no longer thinking about it.
***
About ten minutes after he left the studio, Barry's brain struggled to understand why does Y/N had taken what he said so personally, was then when he realized he was hungry and turn his car to go to the nearest In-N-Out, he searched for his wallet and couldn't find it, Fuck he thought knowing it must be still at the studio with probably his hoodie since he didn't have it either, he made another turn hoping to still find the woman there. The music he could hear when he approached and the lights coming from inside suggest him she was still there.
"Y/N I know you are mad, but I leave my wallet here..." He said opening the door and froze in his place "Jesus, Y/N are you okay??" The women's body was in the floor, with her head over a small pool of her own blood, and next to her one of the chairs covered with her blood too making evident what have happened.
The cut on her head was small, and when he checked on her she still had pulse but was unconscious, and not responding so he carried in his arms back to his car and drove to the closest ER he could find.
"Help please!" He screamed with her in his arms and her blood covering his hands. "She was dancing and fall, she hit her head with a chair" He said to the two nurses that come at his encounter "She is not waking up..." He was agitated and he wanted to scream for them to move faster.
"Hey, hey sir calm down, come on deep breaths" a doctor said once she was in a stretcher and after checking her pupils to be okay, "what's your name sir?" She asked putting a hand on his shoulder and speaking in a calming voice.
"Berkman, I mean, Barry Berkman" He was trying to breath but there was a knot in is chest tightening more every second.
"Ok Mr. Bearkman, go with nurse Joaquin and help him fill some forms and we will take care of her, ok?" Barry nodded and let the nurse to take him away. He filled the forms mechanically not even sure he was putting on them and finally sit on the waiting room. He covered his face with his hands and he saw they were still covered in blood and the memories of the last time he had been in a hospital started rushing to his head like wild horses.
Mr. Cousineau knew, he was sure Fuches had told him the truth about Moss and was trying every day after the arrest to talk to him, and he tried his best to avoid him, he even skip a couple classes until it was impossible to ignore it anymore.
On the other hand the look for Fuches was a waste of time, any rat hole he was hiding in was too hard to locate, and since Hank was back at Chechnya he had no assets to help him.
One night Gene invited Sally and him to have dinner at his lake house again, an obvious set up since they have barely crossed words in the last two months, but after the massacre and the damage he was sure he had caused he felt like it was time to face the truth and find a solution. After all Gene was not Janice, and he was sure they could get to an arrangement.
Sally went to sleep and they were left alone in the livingroom, Mr. Cousineau had a glass of whiskey in his hand and signaled the door with a head gesture, and Barry walked outside with him.
"It would have been nice you know?" He started once they were by the lake. "Growing old here, just me and her, that's all I wanted." He was looking at the water and Barry was behind him just patiently listening. "I kept repeating that night in my mind, over and over again, for so long and it never occurred to me to think about you" Barry's eyes were fighting back tears since Cousineau was standing right where she was that night "But in all fairness you had told me already what you used to do for a living, I just didn't listen" He turned around and a small silver revolver was in his hands.
"Gene calm down, let's talk about this" Barry started knowing all too well that the old man would shoot his own foot before he could aim at him.
"Why don't you do it one more time?" He asked and took the gun by the barrel and gave it to him.
"Mr. Cousineau what are you talking about?" He asked perplex.
"My life is meaningless Barry, I have no longer reason to live without her and even when I hate to admit it Leo being back in my life is just not enough, so since you owned me this do it, take my life like you took hers" He put the gun in Barry's hand an point to his head "Just do it"
"Are you insane? Sally is in the house" Barry let go from his hand and put the gun down "Where did you get this?"
"Is mine, I bought it to kill you, but I can't do that, I'm too much of a coward, I don't even have te courage to kill myself, that's why I need your help" His voice was calmed and a monotone, but his eyes reflected a broken man and Barry feared he might convince him.
"Let's get inside, we can talk about this later ok?" He said taking his hand, and the man followed him like a sheep.
"You'll have to do it at some point, I haven't told the police but I might" he said once they were on the house, and he walked to his room leaving Barry alone in the dark.
A couple weeks later Fuches broke into his apartment, he looked sick, skinnier, with several scars and open wounds on his face. Apparently the Chechens blamed him for the massacre in the monastery and he managed to make a deal to bring him to them.
"And why would I go?" He asked once he was tied to a chair "Do you really thought you could take me?" He asked, not to brag but he was in terrible shape and it didn't cost him much to subdue him.
"Oh I knew I couldn't, what I need is your help to flee the country, they know you want to kill me, if they think I failed and that you did they would leave me alone" He said, and he was no longer the man Barry used to know, he was erratic and completely disturbed.
"What if actually kill you and we end this for once?" He said and pointed his gun at him.
"You wouldn't, you don't want to, I have followed you, you live your life like the happy little lep dog of that blondie, and that's fine. You don't want to unleash the real Barry again, and I'm counting with that" He said and Barry got angry because he was right. He left him go without accepting his offer, but he was sure he will came back.
The days passed and he was holding on to the hope both men will drop their "plans" and since Mr Cousineau was becoming a granddad and he was offering a big party he believed at least he had.
The morning of the party Gene asked him to help him buy some party supplies and he gladly accepted, by two in the afternoon they were loading the car with bags and talking about the new baby in the almost empty parking lot.
"Barry, do you remember what I asked you?" He said after putting in the las bag.
"I do, and the answer is the same, it won't happen" he said frowning.
"And I hope it doesn't, the thing is, you don't know how great life is until you know it, I mean I'm giving a baby shower for a woman I barely know because she is having my granddaughter"
"That's great, I'm sure Leo is thankful for that" Barry was not completely sure of why he was saying, so he asked. "And now what, are you telling the police?"
"Oh jesus no, that's a lot more trouble, and that won't be enough punishment for you, I want you out of the class, forever. After the party, you'll make a brilliant excuse and you will leave us alone" It was obvious he had rehearse that speech because he was not even looking at Barry who was about to replicate when the sound of a laugh make them turn around.
"Oh look the little actor guy is breaking up with you" Fuches said, he had a gun in his hand and was aiming at Barry.
"You??" Gene asked recognizing the so called Detective that had showed him Janice's body, and told him about Barry "what else do you want from me?" He ask with his voice about to break.
"Absolutely nothing, but since our boy here is not responding to diplomacy I thought a little pressure may help, now Barry be a good sport and come with me or" He said and got closer to Gene still pointing the gun at him.
"Fuches stop this man, leave him alone, he is not part of this" Barry tried to reason with him "Let's talk about this, leave him alone and I'll figure out a way to help you, come on man" He started to come closer, and tried to move Gene away from Fuches.
"You really need to know who is in charge here Barry" Fuches said and shoot the gun, it was all so fast, as Gene body fall to the ground and Barry tried to hold him as Fuches was running away, but he didn't bother on follow him, his only concern at that moment was to put pressure on Mr. Cousineau wound and wait patiently for the ambulance to arrive.
"Is going to be ok, don't close your eyes, just hold on" He said while he dialed 911 on his phone "Hi, my... my friend has been shot, outside Ralphs on Venice Boulevard"
"That really hurts you know? I don't know why would I tell yo to do that to me, but in the end you didn't, isn't it funny Barry?" He said before losing conciousness.
The lights of the ambulance came a couple minutes later, and they drove him to the ER, they asked him a couple questions and send him to the waiting room, he sited and waited for Leo and Sally to get to the hospital, he waited as he went into surgery, and he waited until the doctor come out to tell them he was out of surgery. The story they told was that some burglar tried to stole the car from them, and since the cameras on the supermarket recorded Fuches coming at them it was believable.
He spend every afternoon outside work in that hospital for the next week helping Leo take care of his dad. And even when Mr. Cousineau was thankful for his gesture he end up leaving the class when he came out of the hospital, hoping that being apart from him was enough to prevent more damage.
And now here he was, again waiting, again with blood on his hands, just that this time it was not his fault, the doctor came out a couple minutes later and walked him to her bed, they had shave part of her hair and put some stitches to stop the bleeding, and she was now awake, talking very animated with a nurse.
"And then you just add as much mozzarella as you want Abby" Y/N said and finally looked at Barry approaching to her bed.
"Well it sounds delicious, I would definitely try it. Thanks Y/N" The nurse saw the doctor and immediately walked away.
"Well apparently you are doing better Mrs. Berkman, but I still prefer for you to stay here for a couple more hours just to make sure you don't have a concussion" The way she addressed her took Barry by surprise but he didn't say anything.
"Do I have to? I'm fine, it was just a bump on the head, and you already fix that, and gave me a edgy haircut thanks for that" She responded, not bothering to correct her, wich was a surprise for Barry.
"Ok, let's do this, your husband can take you home, but you can't go the sleep, stay awake for at least the next 12 hours, and if anything happens in that time you can call me ok?" She said writing her number in a piece of paper and giving it to Barry "I'll make someone take this off" She signaled the IV on her arm and walked away.
"Ok hubby let's go" She winked at Barry once they were done with the paper work and inside Barry's car.
"Why didn't you said anything?" He asked starting the engine.
"Because they would have called Alan and since he is in Texas in a business trip I would have to stay the night there waiting for him to fly back so they could discharge me" She said like it was not a big deal "and don't worry I put my on social security number, so the bill won't be a problem."
"So your apartment is empty?" He asked thinking about what the doctor said.
"It is, but don't worry I can stay awake" She smile at him.
"Bullshit, I'll stay with you, at least until you are clear to sleep" He said and she let go a little chuckle.
"Oh look at you, what a nice husband" the comment almost make him blush but he focused on the road. "Fine let's go, we could find something to do for the next twelve hours"
I'm so sorry I didn't post this yesterday but I got the flu and I feel like shit, anyway I hope you enjoy this.

Wow - Robert Manion x reader
Request: Hi, so my idea for the Robert Manion x reader thing is...Okay, so let's pretend that TGWDLM just got out onto YouTube and Lauren is throwing this party where everyone in the cast can come and they all watch it together. Y/n has been dating Robert since Twisted and when you guys and the rest of the cast watch it for the first time he only looks at y/n on the screen and talking about how talented y/n is and all that jazz. (Even though I love Mariah let's pretend y/n has Mariah's parts instead) @taylor-manion
A/n: so i tried, but it has been such a long time since the last time i wrote! Hopefully it's good and not shitty idk. Also like. My english is not perfect, since it not my native language.
Tumblr media
You sat on the couch, waiting for Robert to get out of the bathroom. “Lucky wee?” You asked him as he reached to his coat and keys. He rolled his eyes and smiled, “i have you, so it's clearly working”. Now it was your turn to roll your eyes, though you couldn't but smile as well. Robert tossed you your coat. You let out a small sigh and got up, putting on your coat. You loved your Starkid family, but you loved the couch at the flat you shared with Robert just as much.
You've been dating Robert for the past five years. You met him through Twisted - you helped them with the costume change, mostly because being on the actual stage frightened you. Of course you got stuck with Robert and had to help him with his costume change, and ever since then you were together. When Rob heard you sing for the first time he was shocked. You never mentioned your secret dream of performing in musicals, but he wouldn't leave you alone after finding out how talented you were. He looked for any excuse to hear you sing, act and dance, if it was a Starkid sing along, rehearsing lines with you or asking for help with the choreography he had to get done. With his compliments, your confidence grew and although you were still kind of scared from the stage, you were more willing to actually perform. So of caurse, when Starkid reached out to him for “The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals”, he got you an audition as well, and next thing you know you were a part of the show.
The two of you arrived to Lauren's house. She was hosting a kind-of-party to celebrate the release of “The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals”. You were going to watch the musical, all the cast together. You got to be in the one they did for Twisted as Robert's date, but this time you were a part of the cast. It was exciting. Robert  grabbed your hand, and the two of you walked up the stairs and toward the door. “Are you nervous?” Robert asked. You nodded, blushing, “kind of” you admitted. “Well don't, you are amazing, and insanely photogenic, so i'm sure you're great” Robert said, moving his hand across your waist. You stopped in the Middle of the hall, and he pulled you into a hug. He kissed the top of your head and you wrapped your hands around his neck, pulling yourself up to kiss him. “You are the sweetest boyfriend ever, ya'know?” You said, and he gave you a knowing smirk. “oh, I know” he said, “but thank you”. You laughed, and grabbed his hand, dragging him toward the familiar dark brown wooden door. You reached your hand to knock, but the door opened before you had the chance. Lauren smiled at the two of you, “Hey guys!” She smiled, hugging you first and then Robert. “How did you-” you wandered loud, then realised she probably heard a guy with an australian accent and immediately knew it's Robert and you. She confirmed your suspect as the three of you got inside the apartment.
After about half an hour of talking and laughing, everyone got there, and you gathered in front of the tv. Lauren pressed play, and the musical started. Everyone started singing along with the video.
30 seconds in, and you saw yourself. Robert, who obviously set next to you with his hand wrapped around your shoulder seemed more excited than you were. He looked at you, smiling, and mouthed the words “look! it's you!”. You smiled back and rested your head on his shoulder. Then it was Robert's turn to be on screen, and you couldn't help but smile seeing your talented boyfriend doing what he loves. Then your first solo came. “Sh!” Robert said, and everyone went quiet  to hear your beautiful singing, even though it was not the most impressive vocals you had during the show. Everyone joined back in for “should we kill him?”, And then hysterically laughed, which led to the end of the sing along.your next solo came along, and even though it was just two lines, Robert tightened his hand around your shoulder, happy to see you perform, finally sharing your talent with the world and having a blast. “You are literally so amazing like, what the fuck? How?” he whispered. “Look who's talking” you replied, pointing at the screen with your chin and looking at Robert on the screen, who's solo was right after yours.
Then the part when you, or should you say Melissa, asks Paul if he'll come the Company trip came. “Man, (y/n), you really got that 'totally crushing’ look down” Jeff said. Robert looked anywhere but the screen. like Jeff said, you looked like your crushing on Paul, and he hated seeing you look at another man like that. “If i didn't know you and Robert are dating, i'd think-” Jeff kept talking, but stopped once he saw the death glare you gave him. You noticed what Jeff said made him uncomfortable. “Same way i looked at you during Twisted” you said, leaning into Robert's shoulder. You felt his hand stroking your hair. “And the way i look at you to this day” he said and kissed your head. “Shut up, love birds, we are trying to watch a musical here” Joey said. Everyone laughed, and the rest of the musical passed by pretty much quietly, up until “La-Dee-Da-Da-Day”.
Rob loved how you performed it, although the moment you grab jon's hand and the one you danced with Jeff made him kind of jealous since he only got to dance with you for a short time on “show me your hands”.
“Yes, hit that note, (y/n)!”Jon called after the line “on this la-dee-da-da-day“. He sat next to Jeff, who sat next to you, so he high-fived you over Jeff's head (which was kinda hard considering the fact Jeff is taller then you, but he bent down a little). “Your voice is so goddam good, have i ever told you that?” he added . He couldn't show his appreciation to your vocals on stage, so he took the opportunity to do it now. Robert smiled as you belted amazingly
“I am so proud of you, (n/n)” Robert said and took your hand with the hand that wasn't wrapped around your shoulder. He kissed your hand and held it close to his chest. He turned his head to you, leaning his forehead on yours and giving you a quick kiss as you sang “la-dee-da-da, la-dee-da-da, la-dee-da-da-day” in the background. “You know, Jon is right. Your voice is amazing, and you are an incredible performer” Robert said, “and i am the luckiest guy in the world for dating you”. he kept going with the compliments during the song, sometimes loud and proud of his girlfriend and sometimes he just whispered “wow”, so only you heard him.
Some Laughing, “wow”s from Robert every time you appeared on screen and one “literally the most talented human ever is my girlfriend!” after “Cup Of Poisoned Coffee” later, your solo song arrived. Sure, you sang most of “La-Dee-Da-Da-Day”, you did an amazing job at it and stole the show, but in “Not Your Seed” you sang all of it, and it was your time to shine. It was obvious it was your favorite part of the show - the song had everything: different emotions, fun riffs and belting - plus a great choreography. You loved this song so much, and you performed it amazingly as well. If anyone still had doubts regarding how talented is the new girl, that song made those vanish.
As you started singing, Robert's eyes went back and forth between you on-screen and the you next to him. It's like he couldn't believe someone as talented as you is dating him. You didn't even notice the way he looked at you, so proud and happy. He loved you so much, and having you there, at his side, both of you happy and doing what you love just made him feel such pure happiness.
“Love, you are so good at everything” he whispered at the end of the song. You smiled at his words. He rarely ever used these type of nicknames - “love”, “babe”, “honey”. They were “too jenerick” according to him. He wanted something special for you, but sometimes no other word could describe better what you are to him. “Thank you, Rob, love” you replied, wrapping your hands around him. He hugged you back, pulling you closer and kissing you.
“is this even legal??” Joey said. You stuck your tongue at his reaction. It was a joke by this point, ever since you and Robert kissed before a show, already in your first costumes, which belonged to characters with quite the age gap. Joey had to make a reference to the infamous vine, which then led to recreating it and making that joke way too often.
Everyone clapped as Lauren screamed her lungs out. “Amazing! Each and every one of you is lure talent, and I had so much fun working with you guys!” Brian said after he got up from his spot on the couch. Everyone clapped at the short speech, that was somehow moving. “Well, Brian, may i-?” Corey asked, and after Brian nodded, he got up and stood in front of us. “Well, this is the end of a great production, and i've prepared a little something for the occasion” he said, trying to impersonate Rob's Professor Hidgens voice. Everyone laughed and clapped at the reference. “Damn, you should have played the role!” Robert called. “Well, i doubt i can do it better than you Robert” Corey said as he plugged a usb to the computer. Few seconds later, a video from behind the scenes was played. The vine recreation was one of the many iconic things that were a part of the video.
The time passed by, and eventually you and Robert went back home. You were so relieved to finally take the makeup off and get into more comfortable clothes. Finally, you were in bed next to your one and only. He wrapped his hands around you, pulling you into the cuddle you waited for ever since the two of you got home. “I love you, (y/n), more than anything. You are literally amazing, and so talented, i honestly wonder how come you never did anything like that before. You are so, so gifted it's just-” he said softly, tightening his hug and kissing the back of your head. “I love you too,  you talented... human” you said, closing your eyes. You heard his quiet laugh. “Goodnight, (n/n)” he said, but you were already asleep. “I'm gonna marry someday, i swear” he whispered. “Goodnight, love” you muttered. Apparently you were not as asleep as he thought.

Steamy Love (Tom Hiddleston x Reader) Part 12: ~Leg Day~
Summary: You watch High-Rise for the first time, though Tom is more focused on you rather than the screen.
Warnings: Potential spoilers for High-Rise, slightly lemoney
Read it on my Wattpad: @/HiddlesStar
Word count: 2'469

Tumblr media
The first couple minutes of High-Rise were a little weird to follow, but they at least made sense. The beginning was already a bit of a roller coaster, seeing a somewhat scruffy Tom in dirty formal clothes, walking about the High-Rise as his voice narrated about the character he was playing. Laing. "I'm guessing you're Robert Laing.." You spoke, glancing at Tom, who gave you a soft nod. You were one to commentate somewhat if you were watching a movie with someone, especially if you know they've seen it before. You instantly smiled when you saw that white dog appear on screen, Tom visibly pouting. He knew what was about to be shown. "Awe, that's a good boy.." You spoke as Laing pet the dog on screen. Too soon.
Your smile immedietly disappeared as it cut to Laing slowly cooking a piece of the dogs leg, the covered corpse in the background. "He killed the fucking dog!" You gasped, hearing Tom let out a chuckle. You turned to him. "Why are you laughing? You killed that poor dog!" You asked him, but you were kind of smiling. "That's not me! That's Laing!" He pointed at the screen. You jokingly shook your head at him, hearing him chuckle again.
The next couple minutes were just visuals. Laing checking out his apartment, his blinking eyes, his boxes being brought to his room, etc., all while classical music was being played. You understood this was supposed to be an artsy film, so you kept an open mind. Ah, and here comes the famous magazine scene, with nearly all of Tom's physical features in plain view. Damn, he looked amazing. You couldn't help but stare at the screen, even though you've seen him like this before. It's odd to think that, but it's true.
"Captivated?.." Tom spoke from beside you. You noticed he had moved a little closer to you. You didn't mind. You looked back at him with a blush. "I'm watching a movie. That's all."
"Mm. You are. Very closely, it seems.." Tom teased, taking a sip of his drink while keeping his eyes on you. You playfully rolled your eyes and looked back at the screen. Gorey stuff for you is usually a hit or miss. There are days where it doesn't bother you, and days where it makes you tear up. The scene with Laing practically breaking open a skull at work made you a little uneasy, glancing away whenever you could. "Laing is a pretty hardcore guy, huh?" You spoke with a smirk. "I suppose so, yes.." Tom nodded with a little smile. The party scene introduced you to the pregnant woman. She seemed like the most normal woman in the film so far. Laing seemed to get absolutely besotted at the party, eventually being pulled away by Charlotte, the brown haired lady, out to the terrace. "Oh shit, they're definitely gonna fuck." You muttered, making Tom chuckle again. He didn't make a comment this time. He was simply waiting, practically watching you more than the film. He was entertained by your commentary and reactions.
The dream sequence with Laing dancing with all of the women down the hall made you laugh. It really made you wish you had read the book beforehand, though maybe it was better going into this film completely blind. "Are all of your dreams like this?" You asked Tom, seeing him smile. "It wasn't my idea to dance with them. The director made me do it." He admitted. That just made you laugh more. "This movie is fucking great so far." You admitted. "Oh, just you wait.." Tom grinned. "It gets better."
The next couple minutes of the film went by like a bit of a blur. You got a little happy seeing the dog again, but frowned when you remembered what happens to it. "Its really hard for me to like Laing, knowing he kills the dog.." You admitted, glancing at Tom for a moment. "Give it time.." Tom smirked, making you wince a bit before looking back at the screen. Laing was just finishing up with talking to some old guy that had supposedly built the tower, just approaching the 20 minute mark of the film.
That's when it really got interesting.
Laing and Charlotte were suddenly back on the terrace, completely...enraptured. Your eyes widened. They were talking, yes, but...against the terrace? Really? You were speechless. Normally, you'd try to be humorous with scenes like these, but since it was Tom, you were completely speechless. Not a single sound left your lips. All you could do was watch, completely ignoring the characters conversation, just listening to Laing's breathy moans and deep voice, watching him move with Charlotte. God, you know it's just Tom acting, but it was so...alluring. So captivating.
They moved to the table after a moment, starting to feel your cheeks and your thighs get a little warm. Was this really arousing you? "Can you write me a script for sleeping pills?" Charlotte asked Laing. They were both panting. She's a pretty good actress, too. "No.." Laing spoke in a low growl, pinning Charlotte down on the table and beginning to kiss down her lower thighs. His voice was so attractive. You nearly remembered that voice ringing in your own ear just a day or two ago. Seeing him like this just made you imagine the 2 of you together. You had completely forgotten that Tom himself was sitting right beside you, though he wasn't watching the screen as intensely as you were. He wasn't watching the screen at all. "Then tell me how your sister died.." Charlotte spoke. That nearly broke you into laughter, making you cover your mouth somewhat.
"Charlotte, no!.." You chuckled "You don't--you don't say that when a man is--" You started giggling, running your fingers through your hair. "What the fuck, Charlotte. That's not arousing.." Tom laughed a bit as well, watching you continue to stare at the screen. What really got you was when the scene really got graphic, Laing lifting Charlotte's legs up, his hips clearly bucking up against hers, showing pleasure in both of their faces. You were speechless again, watching with great interest. Your eyes had visibly darkened, not that you noticed. Tom sure noticed it, though.
You couldn't help but laugh when Charlotte's son interrupted them. Laing didn't even get to finish. "Okay, hold on.." You grabbed the remote and paused the film shortly after that scene was over, Tom letting out another chuckle. "Too much?" He asked, nudging you some. "I feel like I just watched your leaked sex tape.." You admitted with a laugh. "Jesus christ, are we gonna have to do that leg day shit? When we film?"
"Leg day?" Tom repeated, smiling humorously. "Yeah, with the legs going up like that?" You smiled "Is that what you call that position?" Tom asked before beginning to laugh. You lightly pushed him as he laughed, beginning to chuckle yourself. The laughter helped you mask the clear arousal you were feeling. You nearly felt ashamed for getting aroused over a scene like that, but it was Tom Hiddleston for fucks sake. The same man that's sitting next to you.
The rest of the movie was, once again, a rollar coaster. Characters were dying or completely losing their minds. Everything got much more sleazier. Laing even ended up getting with the pregnant woman, while she was still pregnant. That really grossed you out, though hearing Laing suddenly say "I'm cumming." Just before the scence ended almost made it all worth it. Tom really played this role well, that's for damn sure.
You watched the rest of the movie with constant confusion. It was really hard to keep up with everything, but the jokes you and Tom made throughout it made it a little easier to watch. Once it was over, you paused it and let out a little chuckle.
"Well? How was that?" Tom asked you with a curious smile.
"Ah man, that was...an experience.." You admitted with a chuckle. "I am forever going to keep 'tell me how your sister died' as an inside joke."
Tom let out a chuckle. "I think your 'leg day' comment is even better. That's what I'm calling that position from now on."
"Have you used that position often, then?" You asked him, getting up to help clean up.
A slight chuckle of embarrassment left him as he took out the CD of the film.
"Perhaps.." He admitted. "Have you?"
"You mean have I been in it?" You asked with a smirk. "How often do you think I've had sex?"
Tom shrugged. "You mean you've never been in that position?"
"I've had the one leg up, but not both." You admitted, keeping your smirk. He was the one that had your one leg up, when you had shared a bed.
Tom must've remembered that too, because he smirked back at you.
"Ah, I see.." He gave you a slight purr, picking up the empty cups and bowls, bringing them to the kitchen. The little things he did just to be flirtatious drove you insane, in many ways.
You followed him into the kitchen to help him do the dishes.
"How would you rate the film?" Tom asked you, drying and putting away the dishes while you cleaned them.
"A solid 6, maybe..." You admitted "6 out of 10, though I think our jokes made it funnier, and your acting was...entertaining."
"That's the word you choose to use, hm?" Tom teased. "'Entertaining'.."
"Yes. What word would you choose?" You glanced at him, tilting your head.
"Well...must I comment on how intensely you were staring at the screen?" Tom grinned. "Staring luridly, might I add.."
"Well, you looked rather good in the film. How could I not?" You admitted
"Well..." Tom set down one of the plates he was drying, turning to you. You set one of the dishes back in the sink, backing up somewhat as Tom backed you up against the kitchen counter.
"You can stare at me all you'd like. I'm right here.." He purred, just barely pressing up against you, practically pinning you against the counter.
You gazed up at him, seeing the darkness in his own eyes. The way he looked at you always made you feel wild inside. You've certainly never seen anyone else look at you this way.
"Anytime?.." You asked, seeing him grin down at you.
"Anytime.." He purred, gazing down at heatidly. "We'll be living in the same house for quite some time. Mind as well have a bit of fun.." His hands sneakingly moved to rest on your hips, leaning down so your noses just barely touched.
"Just the two of us, right?.." You asked, your hands gently moving to his chest, toying with the front of his shirt.
"Oh, I don't share..." Tom nodded his head with a smirk. "If you give yourself to me the way you have, you're mine." That last bit came out as a deep growl, his hands sneaking under your shirt to feel your bare hips. His touch always made you tense up. You couldn't help it sometimes.
"G-Good.." You breathed with a soft blush, glancing down at his chest, then looking back up into his dark blue eyes.
He pulled you close by your hips, leaning down to connect your lips once again. Your hands wrapped around his neck, the kiss already rather heated. He slipped his tongue into the kiss, a soft moan escaping you. His hands moved down to your legs, encouraging you to jump. You jumped up on to the counter behind you, feeling him come closer and wrap your legs around his waist. He couldn't press up against you completely with you up on the counter, but he kept you close as you continued to kiss him. He pulled back after a moment and moved to start ravishing your neck. You gripped his back somewhat, a soft moan escaping you as he began sucking at the skin.
His phone started going off in his back pocket, making him pull back with a slight huff. He pulled out his phone, smirking to himself. "It's the director...I have to take this, I'm sorry..." Tom spoke, pulling away from you. You gave a soft smile, hopping off the counter.
"I'll be in my room, if you need me.." You winked, just barely grazing by him, his hand lightly brushing against your hip as you walked away. You could practically feel his heated gaze watch your swinging hips leave before answering the phone call.
You couldn't hear the phone call once you had closed your bedroom door, blushing to yourself. The way he looks at you and holds you makes it feel like a dream once it's all over.
You glanced at your reflection before your cheeks went red. You moved closer to the mirror, spotting the hickey just by the back of your neck. It wasn't too noticable, but if someone was looking at you for quite a while they would definitely see it. Damn it! You and Tom literally start shooting for the film in the next day or so, and now he's given you a visible hickey. You hoped you could cover it up with makeup.
Tom came into your room after a couple minutes, leaning against the open door frame.
"We start filming tomorrow morning. We have to be at the set for 8am." Tom spoke.
"You gave me a hickey." You smirked, seeing a small smile spread along his lips.
"And?" He asked.
"And...we start filming tomorrow..." You repeated what he said earlier. "What am I supposed to say on set with a big hickey on my neck?"
"You don't have to answer to anyone." Tom shrugged, moving into the room. You couldn't help but smile, despite feeling a little nervous.
"Do you think anyone will find out? Offset, I mean.." You gave a slight pout.
"No one knows where we're filming.." Tom replied. "If any paparazzi or fans show up anytime during filming, it certainly won't be this week. The hickey will be gone by then."
You let out a slight sigh of relief, smiling a bit. "I know my constant concern is probably annoying. I just know how much you hate rumours and shit.."
"It's not annoying. The paparazzi are bloody annoying.." Tom admitted, gently taking one of your hands. "Your concern is heartwarming.." You smiled up at him, quietly leaning up to peck his lips. He smiled more, his hands moving to your hips once more.
"Now, where were we?..." Tom purred with a dark grin, a snicker escaping as he lifted you up once more. You let out a giggle as he carried you to your bed.

Okay so i'm really confused. Who pitched the idea for the Voltron reboot? Did they write the original story or was that someone else? Who's writing the story now? Like i get that there is more than one person working on the story but like to take someone's vision of their story and to just throw it in the trash is just kinda fucked up ya know? I wouldn't want to work with a network if they're gonna screw over something I came up with.
It’s not a simple picture since there’s a lot of history. There’s three parts, behind the cut: who wrote the original story (vs the original-original), who pitched the idea for a voltron reboot, who’s writing the story now, and the issue of revisions.
I must have at least three pages of asks that talk about Hedrick’s story and how the EPs butchered it… and I recently stumbled over something that made a few pieces click together. So, if you sent me an ask about Hedrick’s story and what he’d planned, you might want to read, ‘cause this answers a lot of your questions.
who created voltron
Back in the early 80s, the Koplar brothers purchased a license from Toei’s back catalog, and adapted/cut/rearranged the original GoLion into an American-only version called Voltron. GoLion hadn’t been much of a hit in Japan; it was kinda behind the curve. When the Koplars adapted it, Voltron was a huge enough hit in the US to warrant a second season, requiring new footage from scratch (mixed in with re-used stuff from the original season).
The sequel (using a completely different anime from Toei’s back catalog) didn’t do anywhere as well. The planned third part was never made. Since then, there’s been reboots, comic books, idk what else.
who pitched the idea
Long story short, Universal purchased a bundled archive of licenses. These are collected existing properties they could redevelop – anything from some no-name, one-season, failed cartoons to ones that were popular once and since forgotten. Voltron was one of those properties.
I doubt anyone pitched the idea, formally. More like, the execs saw Voltron in the pack and chose it for a reboot/remake. All they needed was staff to do it, so they interviewed potential showrunners. Around that time, JDS had pitched his idea for a Streetfighter cartoon. DW TV passed on JDS’ pitch, and instead offered him the position as EP of what would become the VLD reboot.
(An aside: JDS and LM both talk up how much they loved Voltron as kids, but in early interviews they admit neither could remember for certain who Voltron’s ‘real’ leader was — Keith or Sven — all the way up to starting their interview with the execs.)
who wrote the version we have now
I’ve been operating under the assumption that as the story editor, Hedrick had a major influence on the story. I’ve also noted in several different posts that S1/S2 feels like a completely different story, in more ways than one:
As the story moved into the split-seasons, it’s clear that whomever lent that guiding hand in S1/S2 was no longer present. Someone else’s fingerprints are on S3, and my guess is it’s mostly Hedrick, at least on the script-level. The word choices change, the cadences change, the beats change. From S3 on, VLD has all the hallmarks of a muddy vision.
A few days ago, I was researching for another ask and came across this:
On-screen, a “producer” credit for a TV series will generally be given to each member of the writing staff who made a demonstrable contribution to the final script. The actual producer of the show (in the traditional sense) is listed under the credit “produced by”.
According to IMDB, these are VLD’s  executive producers:
Joaquim Dos Santos  (63 episodes, 2016-2018)Lauren Montgomery (63 episodes, 2016-2018)Jae-Myung Yoo (24 episodes, 2016-2017)Robert Koplar (23 episodes, 2016-2017)Ted Koplar (23 episodes, 2016-2017)
We’ve been assuming Hedrick steered a large part of the story. If that were so, though, Hedrick should also have EP credits. He doesn’t. The Koplars have EP credit ‘cause they created the original Voltron. JDS and LM are on there, as showrunners.
And then there’s this guy Jae-Myung Yoo. He’s done key animation, directing, and storyboards. He has a handful of executive producer credits, mostly for single episodes. Yoo left VLD in 2016, and joined Big Fish & Begonia as a co-producer.
I think we just found the voice that steered the first two seasons, and whose departure left the story without a clear vision.
Yoo doesn’t have any writing credentials, but his resume goes all the way back to Gargoyles in 1995. He doesn’t have to be a writer to be a storyteller, after all; there are different ways and methods of telling stories. My guess is Yoo’s a respected directorial voice around Studio Mir, understands how a story flows, and most importantly was probably a trusted voice after working with Ryu, JDS, and LM on AtLA and LoK.
We’re left with one of two options: Hedrick stuck to the Yoo-created outline, rewriting and rearranging as the EPs shifted tracks, and the majority of the story’s direction since S2 has been from JDS and LM. Or Hedrick did have a substantial impact from S3 on, and JDS/LM refused to grant Hedrick the proper credit for that level of contribution.
the issue of revisions
Television’s a wacky environment. It’s somewhere between collaboration and sheer hell, especially if you don’t come with major credentials (ie, your name is not Guillermo del Toro).
Here’s how it starts: the showrunners, any other EPs, the writers, the senior writer/head editor/story editor (title depends on seniority), production assistants, writing assistants, and other producers will gather and brainstorm the story, and come up with a synopsis for the story’s outline. When the execs approve the synopsis (after probably a round or two of feedback), the expands the synopsis into a full outline of the entire story.
The writers set about writing the script, which are sent to various execs for their feedback. The execs send their feedback — called ‘notes’ — to the showrunner. These are usually a jumble of responses (and a lot apparently tends to be personal taste, too), and also often contradictory. It’s the EP’s job to relay the exec response to the writers’ room, and make sure things get changed so the execs are happy.
The EP (and the writers) must do a delicate balancing act, between budget, story, and sheer insanity like one exec demanding a scene be cut and another exec thinking the scene should not only stay, but be expanded. Or insisting on specific pairing endgames (or lack thereof). Or — as seems to have plagued VLD — saying the story is too dark and ‘needs more humor,’ which the EPs appear to have interpreted as ‘do more filler episodes that have no plot relevance.’
The first thing to remember is that most execs are not intentionally malicious. They will ask for too much, and they often have their own agendas, but their goal is a hit, not wasting a bazillion dollars for no gain. If you look at the credentials for decision-level execs at Dreamworks, every single one came up through the ranks: they’ve directed, produced, some were also animators, and at least one did either acting or voice acting. They’ve been doing this for awhile. My advice to any wannabe-EPs (or writers) would be that when an exec says, “kids are going to be bored stiff with this scene,” listen. I’m not saying automatically change it, just give it a fair listen.
Collaboration is hard. It takes patience and good listening skills and empathy for the people on the other side of the table. It takes a willingness to bargain and enough strength to be vulnerable, and a whole lot of honesty about your own reasonings for wanting one thing or another.
Stories created in the high-pressure hot-house environment of a collaborative group are a very different critter than one-author novels: no one person owns the story. Not everyone wants to sign up for sharing that creative process, and that’s fine, too. We do need books with good stories as much as we need shows and movies with good stories.
Just color me seriously unimpressed when someone in a collaborative storytelling process constantly snarks about exec meddling. I have no sympathy: they signed up for this. If their creativity is so fragile it’s threatened by feedback, they need to find a different medium, ‘cause the collaborative world of television production is probably not the best fit.
