I've been on a bit ob a Russell Crowe movie binge in the past few weeks and since he is almost sixty now, many of the movies I've watched were consequently older movies. and when I watched them, it struck me again, how much hollywood has changed in the last few decades when it comes to depicting men.

take Gladiator for example from the year 2000. Russell Crowe plays basically an action hero in it. he is a big, muscly dude, who is very strong and uses that strength to defeat his enemies. and this is what he looks like:

looks like a strong man, right?

in the same year, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine looked like this in the first X-men movie:

in 2013 the same character played by the same actor looked like this:

it's a bit much, isn't it? I mean, he looks so skinny.

and if we go even further back: look at what the womanizer character Face from the A-team looked like in the 80s show vs the 2010 movie reboot:

maybe the difference isn't that big but it really startled me when I watched that movie for the first time. in my mind there was no reason why Face should be particularly muscular since he is the charming one not the one known for being particularly strong.

if we go even further back, look at the charmin womanizer character Hawkeye in M*A*S*H from the 70's.

I know he's a doctor and there is no reason for him to be ripped but I got the feeling if they did the show now, he would be.

I don't know what my point really is I'm just saying I got a bit nostalgic when watching these men. I cannot be the only one who'd rather see more of this:

also, as a sidenote: Russell Crowe gained a lot of weight for the nice guys and he is a fucking powerhouse in that film, like, when he punches someone, you really feel it because of the weight that is behind it and the shere mass of his body.

(even if this may look different, he's about to break Ryan Gosling's character's arm. I couldn't find a gif of him punching someone but I swear it looks painfull as hell.)

so, in short: can we get big, heavy action guys back? cause I'm tired of seeing these skinny, despite being muscular dudes who look dehydrated as hell and on steroids.

and can we stop making characters ripped just for the sake of it? cause I'd rather cuddle with a guy looking like Hawkeye than one looking like Face from the new A-team movie.

On Dec. 17, 2015. Sgt. Nikolai Zinoviev radioed in for a emergency medical helicopter to be deployed to [REDACTED] in Siberia, Russia, to recover a victim that had sustained severe bodily damage.

Upon arrival, the on-site emergency medical team took over and began a eight-hour long surgery to reverse only a fraction of the damage. Nine more surgeries would need to be done in order to fully reverse the damage inflicted on the subject.

On Dec. 23th, 2015, the subject began expressing agitation to light, screaming for the room to be dark. A nurse preformed a technique used by animal handlers and covered the subject's head with a towel, at which point Agent Kennedy immediately calms down. Two other nurses rushed in and shut down every light source in the room.

After a quick examination, it is made aware that Agent Kennedy has developed a Tapetum Lucidum over his eyes, causing them to have a frosty glass appearance.

The tapetum lucidum is a biologic reflector system that is a common feature in the eyes of vertebrates. It normally functions to provide the light-sensitive retinal cells with a second opportunity for photon-photoreceptor stimulation, thereby enhancing visual sensitivity at low light levels.

However, the tapetum lucidum the subject has is almost greater than in normal species. [This was proven in a test by placing Agent Kennedy in a pitch black room and was instructed to read the letterboard on the wall, to which he preformed flawlessly]

In other words, Agent Kennedy has developed the biological equivalent to night vision goggles, possibly in thanks to the Las Plagas parasite.

The Las Plagas parasite inhabitanting Agent Kennedy's body has been dormant for at least twelve years, awakening from dormancy in response to the subject's execution.

The parasite, while only half the size of the other Plaga recovered from Spain, actually exceeds the capabilities of its larger relatives. It survived being removed by latching onto the stem of Agent Kennedy's brain and biologically melding into the nervous system of his body, whereas it's larger counterparts are located in a subject's chest and feed off the host's body before completely taking over and mutating the host's body.

After further research, it is concluded that the Plaga has turned Agent Kennedy into a new form of Bio-Organic Weapon, or B.O.W.

Tests were conducted by Dr. Albert Wesker, whom many have known by now to be a form of B.O.W, as he possesses both the Uroboros parasite and the [REDACTED] virus.

The following test results confirm Agent Kennedy's abilities;

•Enhanced Strength. (Subject is capable of lifting up to three times his body weight, and withstand impact from outside forces.)

•Enhanced Stamina and Speed. (Subject is able to outrun a standard-issued military Armored Personnel Carrier or APC, going at 75-89 MPH.)

•Superior Agility. (Subject is capable of preforming gymnastics without any formal training and with cat-like reflexes. However he is unable to dodge Wesker's physical attacks.)

•Enhanced Healing and Regeneration. (Subject is capable of healing injuries twice as fast as a normal human, and is able to reattach severed limbs.)

•Enhanced Senses.(Subject's current five senses; taste, touch, scent, hearing and sight are augmented by the Plagas parasite.)

•Sixth Sense. (Subject has developed a sixth sense due to the enlarged pineal body in the frontal lobe of the brain, as shown in a CT scan below. possibly due to the Plagas parasite now attached to his brain stem and nervous system.)

This "Sixth Sense" is a new advancement in B.O.W. creation, how the Plagas parasite managed to do this is unknown, but will be explored in future research.

A normal pineal body is only five(5) millimeters. However the pineal body in Agent Kennedy is the size of a normal chicken egg.

Common Sixth Sense abilities include but not limited to;

•Telekinesis.(Ability to move physical objects with the mind.)

•Telepathy.(Ability to communicate with the mind.)

•Mind Reading.(Ability to read another person's thoughts.)

•(MINOR)Mind Control.(Ability to influence the thoughts and behavior of another person.) IMPORTANT NOTE; THIS ABILITY MAY ONLY BE USED IN DIRE SITUATIONS!

Overuse of physical and mental abilities will cause side effects such as;

•Lethargy and difficulty swallowing.

The side effects listed above can be treated with a round of medications, fluids and therapy. However if left untreated, the subject will begin to decline into a state now referred to as "Feral State".

This warning was put in place in response to the aftermath of which Agent Leon Kennedy experienced symptoms after overusing his abilities, but left them untreated. Which resulted in the deaths of nine guards and three assistants after Agent Kennedy lost control, attacked, killed and devoured his twelve victims, after which he returned to a normal state, but expressed deep remorse and agony upon learning of his harmful actions, resulting in a emotional breakdown and had to be sedated. He was not held accountable for his actions.

Oh god the questions' are getting harder (but thanks for the ask!!!)

**Spoilers ahead for the Percy Jackson series (so anything in PJO, HOO and TOA)**

So top five (in no particular order):

1. Nico di Angelo

2. Piper McLean

3. Jason Grace

All three were explained in my last ask answer since they're in my top 10 of all time.

4. Reyna Ramírez-Arellano

My ace queen! I remember so distinctly disliking her when we first met her in SoN. I thought her being from Circe's island was interesting because it was a cool way of introducing consequences to actions that Percy had never previously thought of (one of many, such as Calypso being left on her island and becoming increasingly bitter, Bob the Titan being memory-wiped, a lot of stuff with Nico, etc). But at the time, I just didn't care about reyna herself until HoH. When she showed up on her pegasus, I remember freaking out with excitment like "yes bitch! Holy shit Reyna's coming!" and being so surprised at my own reaction, because since when did I give a shit about Reyna? But after that I just loved her, and having her pov in BoO was so good??? Like oh my god??? Rereading all the books last summer, I realized I was literally delusional for disliking her (side note, but you are entitled to dislike her, every opinion is valid, but I love her and am allowed to). Like she was great from the very beginning, and then I got to TOA and she was so iconic. I know some people were annoyed when she expressly said that she wasn't into Thalia and they are allowed to be just friends, but I kinda appreciated it in a weird way? Like idk it made sense to me.

5. Will Solace

This was difficult to narrow down, and I feel people rolling their eyes but you gotta understand I thought Will Solace was so cool. Pre-TOA and before I read HOO, I liked him (yeah, for all of the two seconds he showed up, don't judge me). And then he became a more prominent character and I was so hype about it! He is more than just Nico's sunshiny boyfriend, and I'll fight to the grave saying that. He is brave and badass in his own right, he is a deeply caring person and I really have nothing more to say. I've reblogged posts that can explain way better than I can about why he is his own character, and not just some boyfriend thrown at Nico just cause.

Some honorable mentions: Rachel Dare, Apollo/Lester Papadopoulos, Ethan Nakamura (y'all can't say shit about Ethan okay, don't worry about it)

Now the REALLY hard decision of what are my favorite moments. This is just off the top of my head, so I'm sure I'm forgetting some! But (in no particular order):

1. Nico becoming the ghost king in BoL

The way he had me snapping and cheering I should be embarrassed but I am not. That shit gave me chills and I was so proud of him. Honestly, the whole list could be made of Nico moments, but I'm gonna limit myself to just this one cause I gotta be stopped.

2. The dolphin pirates chapter in MoA

That shit was so funny, I can't. And it gave us the iconic "Be-hold! The god's chosen BEVERAGE! tReMbLe before the HOrror of diet coke!" Like come on, that was so fun.

3. Frank and the chinese handcuffs in MoA

It's a downtime moment, but it was really sweet when he came to Annabeth to get help with them. I felt really bad for Frank (even though him and Leo antagonized each other, Leo was very much more of a dick to Frank) and it was just a nice character moment for me. It's sweet that he felt comfortable asking Annabeth because she wouldn't make fun of him for it.

4. Jason apologizing to Leo in Lost Hero

Another downtime moment, but I really like that. Everyone's badass skills in battle and funny moments with monsters are cool, but I really like intimate character moments (romantic or platonic). And the lost trio had a lot of friend character moments, and that's part of why you really feel that those three are best friends. I appricate Jason assuring Leo after the incident with Medea. Honestly, there are a lot of sweet character interactions to pick from for Jason alone, but I'd have to bring out my books and start citing shit lmao

5. Blood of Olympus

Yeah, you read that right - the whole goddamn book. Nothing can compete with the absolute high that book had me on from start to finish. Do you know how shocked I was to find out people hated it? I was so flabbergasted, cause it had everything I wanted. The pov characters were the Lost Trio (which I love so goddamn dearly) and NICO AND REYNAAAAA!!!! When I saw that they had chapters I all but cried, I was so excited. I don't care what anyone says, they deserved povs and they deserved to kick ass. Reyna's backstory was so goddamn interesting and her pov grew my love for her, and her fight with Orion was certified iconic. Nico was doing THE most - I couldn't get enough of his pov, seeing his thoughts was so great. The decimation of Bryce Lawrence? PEAK. Him, Will, Lou Ellen and Cecil sneaking around? Loved it. And I haven't even touched on the peak of Jason's arc, Piper fully coming into her own - like can we just all bask in the glory that was her leading Annabeth with emotion in that one scene? Afagdhdkf - and just Leo's pov in general, because the Lost trio had some of THE best povs in the series, no questions asked. The only thing I didn't give a shit about was Leo going to go get Calypso right at the end, but I was still happy she was getting off that island and that Leo was alive. Like it cannot be overstated how much I love this book, and rereading it last summer did nothing to change that. Is it cheating to list a whole book as a favorite moment? Definitely, but your honour, you have to understand-

Got a bit out of hand with the prompt XD I ended up doing a scene inspired by this fic! Based on that time Marcille Izutsumi and Chilchuck were sharing a bed in chapter 47. It felt very memorable so I tried to recreate it but I kind of went offscript because I was basing it on my recollection of the fic lmao

My timeloop RPG In Stars and Time is done! Which means I can clear all my ISAT gamedev related bookmarks. But I figured I would show them here, in case they can be useful to someone. These range from "useful to write a story/characters/world" to "these are SUPER rpgmaker focused and will help with the terrible math that comes with making a game".

Behind The Name - Why don't you have this bookmarked already. Search for names and their meanings from all over the world!

Medieval Names Archive - Medieval names. Useful. For ME

City and Town Name Generator - Create "fake" names for cities, generated from datasets from any country you desire! I used those for the couple city names in ISAT. I say "fake" in quotes because some of them do end up being actual city names, especially for french generated ones. Don't forget to double check you're not 1. just taking a real city name or 2. using a word that's like, Very Bad, especially if you don't know the country you're taking inspiration from! Don't want to end up with Poopaville, USA

Writing (Words)

Onym - A website full of websites that are full of words. And by that I mean dictionaries, thesauruses, translators, glossaries, ways to mix up words, and way more. HIGHLY recommend checking this website out!!!

Moby Thesaurus - My thesaurus of choice!

Rhyme Zone - Find words that rhyme with others. Perfect for poets, lyricists, punmasters.

In Different Languages - Search for a word, have it translated in MANY different languages in one page.

ASSETS

In general, I will say: just look up what you want on itch.io. There are SO MANY assets for you to buy on itch.io. You want a font? You want a background? You want a sound effect? You want a plugin? A pixel base? An attack animation? A cool UI?!?!?! JUST GO ON ITCH.IO!!!!!!

“Fuck, you turn me on so much with the noises you make,” Character B groans, thrusting their hips up into Character A’s and Character A whimpering softly at that. (Okay so I added the fuck at the start because it’s hotter this way bUTTTT WKGKSKFS PLSSSSS I JUST- OH MY GOD, I think I just realised that dialogue to me is SO IMPORTANT LMFAOOO)

“There are two hot things in this room right now: you, and the temperature.” (LET ME BREATHE, DAMNNNN) 

“Mmm, I’m gonna hog the bed so you can’t get on,” Character A murmurs, laying sprawled out on the bed. “That’s fine, I can just lay on you,” Character B says, making their way to the bed. “…Are you calling me a bed?” Character A questions as Character B gets on top of them, careful not to crush them under their weight. “Yeah, you're my bed,” Character B murmurs, snuggling close to Character A. (FUCKCKKCKXKDKKSKGKAKD HE’S JUST OUT HERE FLIRTING TO THE MAX WITH ME AND LEAVING ME SPEECHLESS TF)

“I told you my bed’s cozy,” Character B says, chuckling as they make their way over to Character A, who’s snuggled up under the covers. They pull the cover back and climb into the bed next to Character A, wrapping their arms around them. “And now it’s even cozier,” Character B murmurs into Character A’s neck. “Because you’re here?” Character A questions playfully. ���Yeah,” Character B answers.

A laughter filled tickling play fight session somehow turning into them making out, turning into Character A straddling Character B, head thrown back in pleasure as they grind their hips against Character B’s while Character B holds onto their hips, thrusts matching the momentum of Character A’s movements.  

Spending way too much time tickling each other, peals of laughter coming from them both as they both try to attack each other’s sensitive spots. (His laughter is so cute AND I REALLY MISS HIM PLS WJDSK)

Morning cuddles and kisses as sunlight spills into the room.

“I’m gonna fuck you so good once we get there, yeah?” (MY HONEST REACTION WAS LITERALLY “???” I JUST?? WHAT?? SINCE WHEN WAS HE- AND HIM SWEARING? HOT HOT HOT HOT WKGKAKS)

Character A taking Character B’s hand into theirs while they’re driving. “You can drive with one hand, right?” they ask with a little grin, and Character B chuckles and nods. “Of course I can.” (HIM DRIVING WITH ONE HAND IS SO HOT BYE)

Character B guiding the speed of Character A’s hips as Character A grinds against them. (can he PLEASE manhandle me-)

“Okay, I’ll let you tickle me wherever you want if you give me one kiss.” (He lied a few times AHAHA, dodged my attacks instead after I gave him his kisses bruhhh) 

Character B lending their clothes to Character A since Character A’s staying the night. (The way I smelled like him AHHHH)

The soft “yeah?” Character B would mutter in response when they’re messing around with Character A and noises would fall from Character A’s mouth, involuntarily.

Stopping their play fight every now and again to kiss each other. 

Character B flirting with Character A and Character A not knowing how to respond other than half groaning and half laughing and calling them insufferable (affectionately). (Like I said, I’m romantically constipated-) 

Character B laughing every time Character A calls them annoying and insufferable whenever they flirt with them. 

Character A leaning in to kiss Character B… And then using that opportunity to tickle them when Character B’s guards are down. 

Them just laughing with each other at the dumbest shit until they’re out of breath; finding comfort and joy in each other’s company. 

Character A teasing Character B with how ticklish they are on certain spots. 

Character B tugging at the hem of Character A’s top, wanting to take it off, but Character A shakes their head and Character B immediately respects that by backing off a bit. (I’m including this because I don’t think people understand that any signs of no means no. Some people need to take notes for real)

“So… Are you going to stay over tonight?” “…Mm, maybe next time.” “You always say next time, though.” (EWLKNFWELN He really wanted me to stay, and I clearly folded so um pwnfewklnf) 

“I’m sorry if I’m like… Slow with all of this? I’m not experienced with any of this, and I don’t know what I’m doing. And I don’t think I’m ready for… You know.” “And that’s fine. Like I said, we’ll take it slow; we’ve got all the time in the world to get comfortable with each other, hm?” (WHEN I SAY I WAS GOING WEKJFNEWJKNEWFLN WHEN HE REASSURED ME, I LOVE HIM SO MUCH AHHH)

Character B climbing back into bed after taking their morning shower to get more cuddles in with Character A before they have to go to work.

“You can just change in here if you want.” (WO4HKLWFN THIS FUCKING MAN LMFAOOO, the way I didn’t listen and went to the bathroom to change because I’m still feeling too embarrassed to change in front of him even though he’s kind of seen me topless before)

Hugging each other a little tighter, and Character A mumbling, “God, I really don’t want to leave” before they part ways.

“The way you keep running around in my mind everyday… How dare you?” Character A mumbles. “Well, is there a problem with that?” Character B questions with a chuckle. (I’m bold for this one, praise me LKNEFKLNWG)

The constant check ins from Character B, to make sure Character A’s all good and well. (every prompt list has this because it’s something I’ll always fucking harp on about lmao)

Character B grasping Character A’s wrists so they’d stop attacking their ticklish spots, pulling them in for a kiss instead. (He did this SO MANY TIMES AND FAILED SO MANY TIMES AHAHA, I’m a sneaky menace) 

Character A pulling the Spiderman kiss on Character B while Character B’s lying down. (I WANNA KISS HIM MORE FUCKSLKFNES’F)

Character A waking up in Character B’s clothes and in their bed, hair all mussed up and sporting a faint mark on their neck. (I think I uh… I think I like having marks on my neck?? Made by him, specifically, IDK wpeofnew;nf)

Get home safe! Love you lots and lots, Character B texts Character A. (THE WAY I SMILED WHEN I SAW HIS TEXT WHILE HEADING TO THE STATION AHAHA, it wasn’t even ten minutes since we parted and he sent me this and I was fangirling about it to my friends AHAHA) 

“Aren’t you going to get up now? You gotta get to work,” Character A says, poking Character B’s side. “Mmm, five more minutes,” Character B murmurs, pulling Character A closer to them. (HE’S SO CLINGY AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH AHDFOEKNF)

Character A realising they might actually be falling in love, slowly but surely, with Character B. (YEAH SO THIS IS A REVELATION AND A HALF AND IDK HOW TO FEEL ABOUT IT)
