"reki is a boring mc because he's not crazy good at skating, while langa is. langa should be the mc"

erm ackshually 🤓☝that's the whole point of reki's character development. he's medicore at skating but still finds passion in it, and he loves teaching langa the basics. however, when its clear that langa is a whole lot better even as a rookie and no one is paying attention to reki, he starts becoming depressed and his negative thoughts drive him away from his friends, especially langa. he thinks that since langa is so good and everyone loves him, no one needs him around anymore. his main character role in this anime is based off "a side character" for a reason, and even though the show is about skateboarding, it does a great and informative deep dive into depression. reki is a mc that has deep character development, and i see him as one of the best mcs in anime, even though the show isn't as popular as one piece or demonslayer.

also, if reki was really good at skating, then people would call him a basic and boring mc. double standards.

Favorite Character: Ash Lynx

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: The moment of recognition that focused Ash’s eyes when, with his vision compromised, he realized Eiji had come to rescue him from Dino. 🥹 Eiji hugging Ash after they rescue him from Fox. MAX BURNING ASH’S PICTURES.

Character I Think is Underrated: Max Lobo. I don’t know where he rates but it‘ll never be high enough in my book (see above).

Character I Think is Overrated:

Favorite Ship/Pairing: AshEiji

Something I Love About the Show/Movie: I honestly don’t know if I loved it. I mean. I’ve recommended it on multiple lists but it was triggering, I bawled my eyes out, I had to stop watching part way for over a month because it devastated me and, after everything, it ended so unfairly. Watching Banana Fish is an experience that festers within me that I am occasionally compelled to relive. So maybe there’s something to be said for a story that can inspire that in a way that lasts (I’ve literally only watched it once and won’t again). Maybe I just love the idea of a broken person who can still be loved and regarded gently without condition.

SK8 THE INFINITY

Favorite Character: Kaoru “Cherry” Sakurayashiki, he’s so gender.

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: this is one series that justifiably has a beach episode if only to set up Miya cockblocking Joe. Joe will never beat the Down-Bad-For-Kaoru allegations, either.

Character I Think is Underrated: Miya. I feel like there’s more unexplored lore RE: Adam, his relationship with food and, of course, his relationship with his parents and peers. Oka is another sleeper but I think I was just intrigued by the fanon idea of Oka from fan art

Character I Think is Overrated:

Favorite Ship/Pairing: MatchaBlossom, also, knowing Kaoru and Adam had some fling or something pre-MB is precisely what I mean when I say your favorite characters wouldn’t just settle down. Let them be messy like people, it’s better for the lore.

Something I Love About the Show/Movie: I love a show I can share with my niece and nephew but, more than that, the music was a VIBE.

ATTACK ON TITAN

Favorite Character: Levi Ackerman

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: Erwin’s galvanizing speech in Shinganshina. 🔪💔 Or the big reveal at the castle tower when the main cast were just recruits under scrutiny. Their outlandish victory there.

Character I Think is Underrated: Poor Moblit had to put up with so much hahaha respected Hange's pronouns, supported their eccentricity (with caution) and was an absolute ride or die.

Character I Think is Overrated: Eren Jaeger.

Favorite Ship/Pairing: Eruri

Something I Love About the Show/Movie: the exposition. Not by the spoonful but, instead, by the shock of a snapping jaw. With the subject matter being as heavy as it is, the world building unfurled in such a way that you, as the viewer, are an ignorant person behind the wall. You learned things as the characters, namely the main trio, came to understand them. They grew up with your expanding world view, their innocence falling away as the harsh reality of the world they lived in shifted into focus and it was done so elegantly that you never see the next big twist coming. Even with all the easter eggs you come to realize after the fact!

WOTAKOI: LOVE IS HARD FOR OTAKU

Favorite Character: Hanako Koyanagi and Hirotaka Nifuji are like neck and neck

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: Not only finding out that Hanako cosplays but that she is like renowned for her handsome characters.

Character I Think is Underrated: Naoya Nifuji - I kinda feel like there's not a thought behind those eyes but so, so nice. Also, well meaning chaos when he almost blows Hirotaka's cover. But, see what I mean?

Character I Think is Overrated:

Favorite Ship/Pairing: Both of the main two couples have some issues but.. isn't that real life? So.. Hanako and Taro even though they argue, the love runs deep

Something I Love About the Show/Movie: It's so relatable ✨ (see above)

JUJUTSU KAISEN

Favorite Character: So many, honestly. Gojo, Nanami and Nobara are just top tier, in my opinion for many reasons.

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: Toss up between Nobara and Yuji becoming accomplices because the trio were really stepping up while trying to undo that curse or the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc in setting the stage for everything.

Character I Think is Underrated: Nanami Kento. I talk a lot about Geto Suguru being doomed by the narrative but maybe it's just any earnest man in jujutsu society. It's why Gojo tests to make sure his students are crazy before accepting them.

Character I Think is Overrated: Toji Zenin. Don't get me wrong, character wise, he's zesty and he's so grossly mischaracterized that it makes me question people's reading comprehension. He's an interesting wildcard whose omitted background, I think, will boomerang back into the story. But some of the fan obsession is a bit out of my realm of understanding.

Favorite Ship/Pairing: *gestures vaguely to the rest of my blog* SatoSugu, but it's pretty casual.

Something I Love About the Show/Movie: Surprisingly, the prevalence of alternative representation and bad ass female cast that subverts typical shonen fodder. But also, the fact that the chaos that is seemingly bringing on the end of the world in the current timeline is literally thanks to two teenagers who would willingly fight a god but couldn't be honest about how they felt 10 years ago. There are so many "if only's" in this series, it's maddening, actually.

MY HERO ACADEMIA

Favorite Character: Katsuki Bakugo

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: All Might vs. AFO as Bakugo and Deku watch from a distance.

Character I Think is Underrated: Tokoyami. Having placed third in the sports festival, Tokoyami appreciation is still not loud enough for me. Locks down an internship with the Number 2 hero. Bears the burden of a heteromorph quirk while locked in an eternal effort to subjugate Dark Shadow. Has presumably stellar taste in music and poetry. Kid is legitimately fearsome and, yet, people don’t put enough respect on him even though he’s lowkey also OP.

Character I Think is Overrated: I’m going to get some hate for this but.. All Might. His arrested development may not be his fault but misguiding Midoriya out of some misplaced sense of ego or obligation was so frustrating when he's the adult in the situation. I just think he deserves more slander.

Favorite Ship/Pairing: BakuDeku and/or EraserMic (fanon EraserMic content is always just 😘👌🏾) but there are a lot of great ones to choose from, I have plenty of faves.

Something I Love About the Show/Movie: The idea that anyone can be a hero and, inversely, that anyone can be a villain. The latter stemming from the fact that you don’t know who you are in other people’s story, nor how close you are to ruin with one lapse in judgement. There’s a persisting idea of redemption while a lot of the heavy hitters in this conflict are entrenched in generations' worth of unrest. Think about Compress, Geten's family (not calling out a spoiler here but IYKYK), Redestro, All For One, One for All... the list goes on and on. I have a draft somewhere about this but got too busy to put all my thoughts down for a lot of theories I had for MHA. So maybe I also love that it's a story that has always kept me guessing in a really constructive way. Lastly, with such a huge, nuanced ensemble cast, I think a lot of people are able to see themselves in the context of these characters which is really unique.

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: DAMN. either yosano’s backstory arc, the sky casino arc, or the guild arc. i also love the episode when the café master was taken and the agency went apeshit lol. and lucy’s introduction ep was fantastic too! WAIT ALSO in untold origins, you are but a child is one of my fav bsd lines EVER and the entire scene was so great 🫶🫶

Character I Think is Underrated: lucy my beloved

Character I Think is Overrated: can i say dazai. and fyodor. but mostly dazai (squishing him tho)

Favorite Ship/Pairing: im ngl it might actually be kunichuu now… but i also love sskk 🫶

Something I Love About the Show/Movie: i love the ADA found family, and the symbolism in bsd is also SO good. especially in the endings! wait yes i also love the op and eds a lot (i have s1 ending on loop genuinely) and the way character dynamics are explored is so captivating. my fav dynamics are definitely ranpo and yosano, sskk, tachihara and the hd/pm, and ranpo and fukuzawa. ignoring bsd’s questionable plot i genuinely do love it a lot hahaa

Something I Love About the Show/Movie: i love that this show is so kind to its characters. it understands that they’re all just teens trying to figure things out. with mitsumi’s hesitance over love (esp in comparison to fumi), mika’s jealousy, shima being so guarded etc. ut defines maybe you weren’t unlovable maybe you were just 15. also the FRIENDSHIPS!! they’re all so heartfelt and full of love i feel all fluffy thinking about it 💛💛

Cherry looked over his sunglasses at the pair before him, fighting down a smile as Joe relentlessly tickled the kid to near tears. He had been slipping in and out of consciousness earlier, so the exact reason for why Joe was doing this was lost to him.

Did it really matter though? Not really. Cherry sat up for a better look.

“Think you can get between me and the ladies? You're lucky I don’t go full dad mode on you and ground you the rest of the trip!” Joe teased, his hand clawing at his belly with expert skill. “Don’t make me, Miya!”

“Yohoohohohu’re suhuuhuhch an ohohohohold maahhahhanan!” The tiny skater squealed, slapping at Joe’s chest with little effect. “Stahahhahap it!”

“Oh, an old man, am I? Now you’re really gonna get it! Prepare for my ultimate tickle attack!”

Cherry rolled his eyes at the sight, shaking his head. “Your ‘Ultimate tickle attack?’ Since when did you have one of those?”

Joe shot a devious glare at the other, giving the smaller boy a break. “Oh? Don’t tell me you already forgot about it. I used to have you in tears whenever I tickled you.” The green haired man snickered, narrowly avoiding a sandal being thrown at his head.

“Cherry’s ticklish?” Miya asked, wide eyed. Seemed he recovered quickly.

“You’re one to talk, you damn gorilla. Last time I checked, you’re way more ticklish than anyone here.” Cherry retorted, smug at the flush staining Joe’s cheeks. Good. “What was it that really got you going? Oh yes, your armpits were quite the spot back then.”

“That was years ago!” Joe argued, vaguely aware of Miya staring at him.

“No way, Joe’s ticklish too?” He gaped. Then he grinned.

“Miya, don’t you dare-” Joe had no time to react before Miya was on him, clinging to his back like a cat, digging his fingers into said tickle spot.

At first, there was nothing. Maybe Joe grew out of it after all? But then…

“Hmm! M-Miya, get off me!” Joe grunted, squirming this way and that as he tried to reach for the other. His lips were pressed into a wobbly grin, a new blush starting to creep up his neck.

Nevermind then. Cherry hid a smile behind his hand.

“Come on, laugh for me, Jojo!” Miya teased, laughing as Joe tried to buck him off like a bull, the smaller boy clinging like his life depended on it. In a way, it did. All the while he kept up the playful attack, scribbling into Joe’s armpits before moving a hand down to his ribs. “Don’t hold it in! Let it out!”

“Yes Joe- it’s bad for you.” Cherry teased, feeling bold as he reached out, giving Joe’s hip a proper taz. “You’ll explode.”

“Shuuhuhuhut your mohohohohohuth!” Joe cried out, finally laughing as he wrigged away from Cherry’s hand. This of course did nothing for the giggling spider monkey clinging to his back. Tiny hands switched back and forth between his ribs and his armpits, digging and pressing with the skill of a button masher. All those video games he loved to play really made Miya a good tickler.

“No nohoohohohoho, Mihihiihiiyahahahhahaha! Chehehheherry stahahhahahaap!” Joe wheezed, falling on his face in the warm sand. Pressing his arms tightly to his sides, he attempted to swat at Cherry’s hands as they returned, pinching his hip and the soft parts of his belly. “Pleheahhahahhahahse!”

“Please what?” Cherry asked, sounding way too smug for his taste.

“Dohoohohohohohn’t!”

“Don’t what?” Miya joined in the teasing.

“Tihiihihihihckle mehehhehehehe!”

“Oh, did you hear that? He wants us to keep tickling him!” Miya cooed in delight, nearly taking an elbow to the face.

“Yohohohoou shuhuhuhuht your trahahahhahap- AH! NO KAHAHHAHAROU!” Joe all but screamed when Cherry’s hand found the back of his thigh, squeezing with deadly precision. “DOOOHOHOHOHONT NOT THEHEHEHHERE!”

“Seems some things haven’t changed.” Cherry laughed, nodding at Miya to join in. Before long the pair were tickling Joe’s legs like there was no tomorrow, earning a wide variety of squeals, shrieks, giggles and howling pleads for mercy.

“OOHOHOHOKAY OHOHOOKAY I’M DOOHOHOHNE!” Joe squawked out eventually, cheeks bright red. His face was coated in a thin layer of sand, tear streaks cutting through the grime. His face felt sore from smiling so much, and his lungs ached.

“Alright, let’s let the gorilla breathe.” Cherry reached out, gently guiding Miya to a stop. The smaller boy climbed off him, taking a seat on a nearby towel with a grin as Joe gasped for air. “Are you alive, Kojiro?”

“Heh…heheh…Let me tell you.” Joe sat up on his arms, turning to glare at the pair. “My body hurts from laughing, I have sand literally everywhere, and I just got absolutely destroyed by a gamer kid and my archnemesis. And now said archnemesis is asking me if I’m alive?” He paused, thinking about it. “Honestly, yeah. I feel great.”

Miya snorted, laughing in his hands when Joe turned that fiery look onto him. Cherry chuckled, reaching out and dusting sand off Joe’s leg. “You truly are something else.”

“Heh, I guess I am. Hey, Miya- wanna help me get your mom here?” Joe asked, making Miya perk up.

“Really?”

“You wish to die?” Cherry growled, backing away as the pair began to close in. “I have no issues committing murder on a beach- who the hell are you calling ‘Mom’?”

“Carla can’t save you now, Cher-bear. Get him!” Joe roared playfully, leaping with Miya as they sent Cherry off his chair, into the sand with tickling fingers.

They eventually made it back to the resort, covered in sand; Joe sporting a new welt on his head, courtesy of Cherry. Miya was soaked- he was tossed into the water at some point.

Still- they were laughing, dirty, soaked, and in mild pain, but laughing.

They should take beach trips more often.

You knew full well there were three things Reki Kyan loved more than life itself.

1, skateboarding.

2, you.

3, your and his boyfriend, Langa Hasegawa.

Not necessarily in that order.

However, recently, he’d picked up a new hobby. For the last few months, whenever you visited, Koyomi sat and complained about how she was tired of hearing him slamming the strings of his guitar.

As funny as it was listening to her complain, you were quite curious to hear how all this practice was coming along. Anytime you or Langa asked he brushed it off and changed the subject as fast as possible. You were sure he wasn’t hiding anything because he would talk about it once in a while, but he didn’t seem to want to play anything in front of either of you. You figured he was nervous—not many people could play in front of a crowd, even if it was only the two of you.

Until today, at least.

He invited you over a few days prior, saying he had some sort of surprise. So when you sat on his bed (Langa curled up and laying in your lap), you grinned as he pulled out his guitar.

“You playing something, Reki?” Langa asked, picking up his head slightly.

“Nah, im just gonna make you stare at me while i make no noise,” he said sarcastically, no real venom behind his words.

You scoffed and blew him a kiss from across the room. “Whatcha playing, then? Anything we know?”

“Just something I found online a couple of weeks ago, nothing super special, I think it’s pretty.”

“Hey, don’t do that.” you cut in, shooting him a reassuring look. He had a nasty habit of playing down his interests, so you did all you could to make him feel as special as you and Langa both knew he was. “I’m sure it's great.”

He smiled but didn't say anything, fidgeting and tuning. “Koyomi hates when I do this too loud, it's funny. Gets all sorts of mad because she says it’s ‘the same boring crap over and over’.”

“I mean this in the nicest way possible: your sister is boring because i like your song.”

“Langa, im not playing anything. I’m just tuning.”

“Oh…”

You laughed and kissed Langa’s head. “Idiot.”

He pouted at you, but you knew he wasn't upset. Hard to be upset when he looked so comfortable and you were playing with his hair.

Reki fidgeted with his phone for a minute or so before turning back to the two of you. “You’re not allowed to judge, alright, because its not great.”

“Reki.”

“it’s not wonderful, but im proud og myself and i wanted to show you—”

“Reki.”

“What?”

You smiled at him. “I'm sure it’s amazing, babe.” Langa nodded, reaffirming your statement. “Just play. I won’t look right at you if that would make you less nervous.”

“That would help, actually.”

“Got it.”

You looked away, suddenly finding a very interesting pattern of glow-in-the-dark star stickers you’d seen a million times before. He fidgeted for a minute or two longer before he finally started playing. And then singing.

You weren’t sure if you’d ever heard him sing by himself. If he did, it was always with the radio, and he never cared how he sounded. Instead, now, he sounded nice. Not a perfect, angel-like voice but one that was warm and comforting.

For only playing for a few months, he sounded good. And singing and playing at the same time was harder than doing one or the other, so you had to applaud him for that.

He played through the end of the song, letting the strings ring out. Reki refused to look up at you—at first, at least. He set his guitar down and swiped out the app on his phone, before finally turning toward the two of you.

“So…?’

You weren’t sure about Langa, but you knew you had a wide grin on his face. If you were smart before he started playing you would have recorded it and kept it for yourself (and maybe Langa) because the way he played it was a perfect song to fall asleep to.

You held your hand out to him wordlessly, and when he sat next to the two of you on his bed, you grabbed his face and kissed him all over. “That was amazing, sweetheart! You're so talented.”

“Eh, i kinda screwed up my words in the—”

Any other words were lost against your lips. When he started that, you found it was easier to shut him up and then reassure him. “It was wonderful. I mean it.”

He looked to langa for approval as well. He smiled at the two of you and kissed reki’s knuckles. “I really like your voice,” he said stretching upward for a kiss.

He obliged, then laid his head on your shoulder. “I was so nervous to do that,” he sighed, burying his face in your arm. “You two are lucky i love you.”

“Yes, yes we are.”

“Love you too, red.”

“You guys are making me blush, stop it!”

Skating 101 With The SK8 Boys

Day Seven of The Underrated And The Unwritten

Notes: I'm so excited to write for sk8! Seriously, this is one of my newer fandoms but i love it and couldn't wait to create content for it. I was going to write for the others too but then Reki and Langa's ended up being so long that I just couldn't.

Warnings: n/a just fluff

Characters involved: Reki Kyan, Langa Hasegawa

"And the third one's completely wrong, you used the right formula but-"

A small sigh escaped your lips as set down the paper in your hand, instead turning to look at the redhead before you with a pointed gaze.

Reki seemed to startle back to reality at the sudden lack of your voice, suddenly sitting upright and retracting his arms that were previously spread across the table guiding his mini skateboard over the aged wood.

A skateboard that now tumbled to the ground to settle amongst the grass below you while Reki rapidly began to appologise.

"Sorry. It's just- well there's this race coming up and-"

"It's fine."

You couldn't help but let out yet another sigh as you began to pack up his books and stationary, only pausing to meet his sheepish gaze once you were done.

"We can just study another time."

Reki seemed almost disappointed at your words, but was quick to nod along and turn back to his mini skateboard as he heard you gather your supplies.

You wouldn't really consider yourself close to Reki, in fact, Langa was probably the only person in your class who could claim that title. The only reason you were even there with him was because your teacher had asked you to be.

Yet, for some reason you found yourself lingering on the park bench and turning back to the redhead before you could think twice.

"Why do you like to skate so much?"

Reki's gaze snapped back to you at the question, but this time it was more because of his poorly concealed excitement at the question rather than surprise.

"I- because it's fun. It gives me this thrill that makes my heart race every time I step on that board."

Listening to him gush about skating like that brought a soft smile to your face, a sight that only heightened his excitement. After all, Reki wasn't accustomed to receiving positive reactions whenever he spoke about his hobbies.

"I could show you what it's like."

And that was how you found yourself abandoning the park table you had been seated at for the past hour to instead follow Reki to the side with both concrete and grass so that he could teach you how to skate.

You had promised yourself it would only be for ten minutes and then you would leave, yet as the time passed by you found yourself desperately clinging to his hands, shirt, sometimes even neck, in an attempt to stabilize yourself and skate properly.

Minutes multiplied and then turned into an hour, yet as the time marched on your racing mind came to a stop, with the only thing you could think of being the board under your feet and the boy before you.

You had never quite understood Reki's obsession with skating, not knowing why or how someone would allow themselves to spend so much time on something that wasn't even beneficial.

But as the sun began to set and the two of you fell to the ground in a laughing fit because of your umpteenth failed attempt to turn, you found that all those questions didn't really matter.

Skating was beautiful and chaotic and so much more than just a means of transportation, but above all, skating was fun. Skating with Reki was fun.

And selfishly, you couldn't help but hope that this wouldn't be the last time he let you get on his skateboard.

Langa Hasegawa

If you had to spend one more minute staring aimlessly at the blank document on your laptop screen you swore you were going to kill somebody.

And that somebody would probably be the teacher who decided it was a good idea to ruin your weekend with homework.

A loud groan escaped your lips as you set your laptop aside and finally allowed yourself to slink forward to rest your head against your knees in hope of blocking out the world.

Your plan, however, was quickly hindered by the sound of wheels rolling to a stop before you.

"Are you alright?"

You couldn't help but smile as you looked up to nod at Langa, with the sight of his concerned little frown already making you feel better.

"Fine, just...this paper's taking forever!"

He chuckled at that, rolling his board forward so that he could come to a stop directly in front of you and offer you a hand to help you up.

"Want me to take your mind off of it? You can come back to it later."

You hesitated for a total of five seconds, but one look back at your laptop told you enough to have you quickly accept Langa's invite without thinking twice about his motives.

Something you would come to regret as you watched him hop off of his board to instead gesture for you to get on it.

"You want me to skate?"

Langa at your question, tugging on your hands to get you to step on his beloved blue board even as you tried to voice more protests.

"No, I want to teach you how to skate."

His hands never left yours as he spoke, something you were thankful for as you felt him softly nudge the board with his foot to make you glide forward.

Langa couldn't help but let out a small laugh at the way your grip on his hands tightened at even the smallest movements, but he never once ridiculed you for it.

Instead, he stepped even closer until his feet were almost under the board, with one of his hands shifting to rest on your hip as he slowly guided you to turn away from him and balance on the board.

Over time, you found yourself giggling alongside him as Langa slowly moved the board back and forth until you had done at least a few laps of the skate park, with his hand never once leaving yours.

You were never really one for skating or other such activities, but as you watched him carefully help you turn and swerve around the place, you couldn't help but feel like maybe skating wasn't such a bad idea.

After all, with Langa by your side even the fear of falling wasn't enough to dampen your mood, so perhaps it was time you took to learning what he loved.

Question Stuff

What was the most surprising thing about writing in 2023?

I think the most surprising thing about this year was the amount of Twisted Wonderland fics I wrote. While I got into the game in 2022, it wasn't until this year you can see it dominate my fanfics. Writing for a new fandom is always a gamble. Just because I get into a new fandom doesn't always mean I write fanfics for it, but Twisted Wonderland won the gamble ahaha.

2. What was the most enjoyable to write?

The most enjoyable thing to write this year was my Platonic Yandere AU. The idea of all the NRC cast deciding to silently keep Yuu from going home haunted my mind for months. Bringing it to life was fun and I'm so happy that others like this idea too.

3. Which fic is the most underrated?

I know I've already talked about my poor Fire Emblem fic Divine Intervention being underrated and I still stand by this answer. However, I'm adding another story to this answer. I also think that Energy Drinks (SDR2) is underrated and I'd love to see more love to that story.

4. Which fic(s) had something "cut" or had an idea that never happened?

-I had more violent scenes in mind for Just a Normal Citizen (Not a Dimension Traveler), particularly with Jade/Floyd as well as Leona, but those never happened. Mostly because all the cast decided to keep their illegal activities "secret" from Yuu. Those scenes may still happen later in the story.

-Yuu's reveal of coming from another dimension had other versions that just couldn't happen. All of them a little too dramatic so they were scrapped. I'm happy where it landed though.

-In Dorm Exchange I was also going to write some of the exchange part, but I never got around to it and focused on the deciding process.

-In Late Night Snack I originally wanted Yuu and Vil's conversation to be a little more confrontational. That didn't pan out and I'm happier for it.

5. Which fic did you want to write but didn't get around to?

-I wanted to write a fic where established Vil/Rook high key flirt with other characters that they're attracted to. The main candidate for this is Trey but other characters include: Jack, Cater, Deuce, Ace, and of course Yuu. Though I think I get enough Vil/Rook flirting with Yuu in other fics ahaha.

-For my Platonic Yandere AU I have ideas for where Grim falls on the scale of "Keep Yuu in Twisted Wonderland". I don't know if I'd write a full separate fic, but the idea could appear in another fic in Yuu's perspective. Also, I have more ideas for this AU so stay tuned.

-Said this in an ask before but I want to write another instalment in my Kitsune!Komaeda and Human Hajime fic series.

-Briefly thought about writing another Dr. Stone fic because of Season Three and rereading the manga.

-I still have a silly JJK/SK8 the Infinity fic sitting in my WIPs that I'd like to write for the laughs.

6. Any WIPs that never got published?

I have two main ones. First, I have a story about Malleus who normally eats lunch alone (if not accompanied by Lilia, Silver, or Sebek) and Kalim deciding that can't happen and Malleus needs to eat with him and his friends. I didn't finish this because at the time I was writing a LOT of food in my fics and felt it was very repetitive.

Next, I have a story of Lilia finding Silver and the process of raising Silver as his son. I didn't finish this mostly because that's when Book 7 dropped in Japan and my story would 100% contradict canon and I hate when I do that.

7. Share a snippet from a WIP fic?

Here is a snippet from Malleus eating lunch alone and Kalim deciding this cannot happen. Fic title in my WIPs is "Homemade Lunches".

"Deciding on his sandwich first, Malleus reached to pick it up when a blur of warm crème and red flashed towards him. A beat later and Kalim plopped down beside Malleus, angling himself so the trunk of the tree slightly hid him. Kalim warmly smiled before pressing a single finger to his lips, the universal sign of “be quiet”, and watched as a few Scarabia members ran past him, their footsteps frantic. When they passed and didn’t return Kalim exhaled audibly.

If Malleus were asked to describe Kalim, he’d say Kalim was like a desert breeze that morphed into human form so it could dance and sing with abandon. Wherever Kalim went warmth followed him, like the taste of chili powder, cinnamon, cloves, and other spices Malleus vaguely remembered from souvenirs Lilia had brought back. Kalim’s warmth always lingered on the tongue before dancing its way down into the heart."

8. Which fic was the one you were most "excited" to write?

I was most excited to write The smell of bleach for @m34gs as part of our Sort of Saw AU. At that point the story idea had only been scattered in ask answers, our DMs, and over phone calls. Bringing our conversations together into a single fic was so exciting! Honestly, this entire AU excites me so much!

23. Do you use different layer modes so like kinda i do the bulk of my work picking different shades off the color wheel on vibes alone.. But I do use them when I start out - because everything starts with me slapping gradients on things asdjfkjas. I also use them for the brightest highlights, and when I'm cell shading!

29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically

Usually I am quite inspired always and just don't get around to doing anything about it, but off the top of my head... Sk8? never really wanted to make fanart, even though I like it. A lot of things I like fall into this category probably, but all things I have Undying Love For is, likely in part, due to being "Artistically Inspiring" somewhere in there. 30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated

Speaking in terms of ultimately meaningless internet points..? A lot of my Monkie Kid stuff flies relatively unnoticed here but that is not the case on other platforms so I won't count those, so probably this Grian AU sketch:

SK8 THE INFINITY 🛹

Favorite Character: Reki, hands down it's Reki. He's just such a great character to me, honestly a little bit of relatable (both as someone who isn't sure of themselves and having siblings).

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: The beach episode is definitely my favorite episode. But I gotta say the epilogue scene he has with his family is one of my favorite scenes because it's so damn cute!

Favorite Ship/Pairing: Reki/Langa is my favorite! They're just so cute!

Character I Think is Underrated: Oka is one, Sketchy is another. But a really underrated character? Miki. She's the green haired woman seen in the first episode. Made a post about how she should be a more major SK8 character. I like her design very much and I just think she should be a bigger part of the cast as a skater.

Character I Think is Overrated: Ooh, it's like most of the main cast... Reki is definitely one, Langa is one, too... Shadow is more underrated though... but it's definitely Joe and Cherry!

Something I Love About the Show/Movie: What mostly drawn me in to the show was the vibrant colors. I love colors and the aesthetic of the show is a bonus to me. Also, I love that Reki isn't like some big shot protagonist where he can outskate everyone and anybody. Really like it took an opposite approach, and hone in that he was the more creative type.

DEMON SLAYER 🗡

Favorite Character: Tanjiro! He is just so precious, kind and badass! (And it will always gets me how he got that hard ass forehead he got from his mom.)

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: Just any time he interacts with Nezuko will always touch my heart. One scene I adore a lot is from the Swordsmith Village arc when Tanjiro braids her hair to mimic Mitsuri's style. It was just too cute. Ooh, but overall my favorite arc so far has to be the Entertainment District arc. Gyutaro and Daki actually became my favorite antagonists because of that arc. And the opening for that arc in the anime is one of my favorite songs.

Favorite Ship/Pairing: I actually had to stop and think for this one. "Do I have a favorite ship here?" Okay, I gotta admit Tengen with his wives are cute. (Watching the anime in dub though becomes something else when you also watch JJK in dub and realize Sukuna and Uraume are married here.)

Character I Think is Underrated: Hmm... I wanna say Mitsuri for this one. Every since the Swordsmith Village arc came out, everywhere I turn there's some video on how Muichiro put in work in his fight scenes, and he did. I applaud that precious little misty guy. But I don't see a lot or even a little praise for Mitsuri and she was whipping that sword!! If anything, that is very impressive that she has a sword like that!!

Character I Think is Overrated: Ah... I gotta say it's tie between Uzui and Rengoku. But before anyone gets on my ass, I do adore both characters very much. (Remember seeing a post that had the absolute nerve to put Rengoku on the list of "frauds".)

Something I Love About the Show/Movie: That anime definitely deserved the animation award. But for me, it's definitely the character designs. The art style makes those designs pop and a lot of the way the characters look pleases me. Like the demons? They don't look like your average demons. One of the reasons why Tanjiro is my favorite is because of his character design.

MY HERO ACADEMIA ✨️

Favorite Character: If you have been following since forever, you already know I'm going to say my favorite two are Miruko and Midoriya. They're both my #1s.

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: The first half of Miruko's episode. I'll be honest... while I do like Kaminari, every time I rewatch that episode I just watch the Miruko parts. Another episode I really like is the dorm episode because it's mostly like a feel-good episode for me.

Favorite Ship/Pairing: It's Burnin/Miruko for me. "They haven't inter---" Ah! I am allowed to ship characters who haven't interacted and I adore them. Right now, they are my top ship.

Character I Think is Underrated: A lot of them. 😭 First person that comes to mind is Rock Lock. I would question, too, why kids are at a meeting about a dangerous situation. He's a husband and a dad and he loves his family! Of course, he would ask that!

Character I Think is Overrated: In-Universe, Hawks. I'm sorry, but every time there is a scene that showcases how he has many fans I just make this face 😐. He's like that famous gut almost everyone and their mama loves but you are just like "... what's so great about him". I mean, I get it, I do and I like Hawks. But... Also by the fandom, other than Hawks, Dabi and Bakugou. I feel like I don't have to explain here. Again, characters I like, but they are overrated. "But, Kiya, you like Midoriya!" I do! And I don't know if there is another popularity poll coming up, but if he doesn't get #1 on that I will scream. Come on, 9th poll? He is the 9th OFA user?

Something I Love About the Show/Movie: Definitely the range of quirks here. Some quirks, Horikoshi definitely got creative with. Also, say what you want, I like how some of the common tropes are here, but not exactly. Weird thing to be happy about, but I was happy I had to guess who the protagonist was because Midoriya didn't look like the typical one. (I didn't watch the first season first.)

JUJUTSU KAISEN 😈

Favorite Character: Yuji Itadori! He is my sunshine! Also a little feral and will take your kneecaps. Like Midoriya, I find he's not really the typical protagonist. He has some traits, but others you don't see too often in protagonists.

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: I do like the Shibuya Incident and Culling Game Arcs. Personally, for me, and yes I'm a little bias, my favorite scenes are those with Yuji. My favorite fight scene is his fight against Choso. Now, for the Culling Game Arc, I really enjoyed the fight between Uro, Ryu and Yuta. Mostly because Uro was the best character for me there. But fight scenes aside, I gotta say that other scenes I enjoy are those scenes Yuji has with Megumi and Nobara.

Favorite Ship/Pairing: ItaFushi is the first ship I got into! It's just... it makes me want to cry. Also, NobaMaki! Oh my gosh, that scene they have after the small confrontation with Mai? Love that scene!!

Character I Think is Underrated: The Kyoto students as a whole. My favorite out the bunch is Kasumi Miwa. She's just so silly, kind and come on. I know she says she's frightened at times, but she's also really brave to still fight. I admire that.

Character I Think is Overrated: Once season 2 came, I swear Toji has been a favorite almost overnight! Don't blame the fans, of course. And, no surprise, Gojo and Sukuna.

Something I Love About the Show/Movie: If I need a story to break my heart, I know I can just look to JJK! And I mean not in a dramatic way, I mean like "I'm watching a horror movie and the character I hot attached to too fast dies". Okay, for real though, one of the strongest points for me is the characters. I find a lot of the characters entertaining and intriguing. Even if it's a character I don't practically like. When it comes to the characters, I actually don't get bored of them. There's probably a couple I don't really care for. Also, unpopular opinion, I do like Akutami's art style from the beginning and to end. The style before has this charm to it I just like and it's the same for the style now.

Sk8 Headcanon: Café Employee Edition!

Joe: Greets you as soon as you walk through the door (unless it's busy). Makes coffee puns when he takes your order and when he hands you your order. Purposely writes your name as wrong as he can on the cup and then writes the correct spelling (as best as he can) underneath. Isn't the greatest at making coffee but does his best.

Cherry: A little impatient when he takes your order and gets really agitated when the café is busy. The best you can get out of him is a "goodmorning, welcome to ___" or a simple "Morning". Writes your name wrong out of spite no matter who you are but he will write it so beautifully, you can't be mad. His coffees are the best thing to grace your taste buds and you don't know whether to tip him well for his great brewing or to just leave because of his lack of good customer service.

Shadow: You're pretty sure you've seen him in make up and his hair brushed up somewhere but you're not gunna meddle in a barista's personal life. He writes your name correctly but he has very bad hand writing. He's decent at making coffee, when he hands you your order he always says "have a nice day!" in the sweetest but fakest tone.

Adam: Customers have sent in complaints about his flirtatious- almost creepy- behavior towards them. Always adds hearts and stars around customer's names on their cups. His brewing skills aren't half bad.

Tadashi: He's just your average coffee shop employee, no one really notices him (sadly) and his skills are underrated. He always manages to spell everyone's names right and never gets an order wrong. Tadashi always remembers regulars and greets them with a "hello, how was your day? Same as usual?" . Overall best worker, just under appreciated by customers and even other staff.

Reki: He's a bright and buzzy employee (most of the time), always greeting customers with a smile and enthusiasm! (It's sometimes fake). He sometimes mixes up orders and has gotten his ear told off by a Karen at least 5 times already and says sorry a lot for his mistakes. Some customers find him to be cute and clumsy because he's young, others are annoyed by his constant mistakes. Always misspells names.

Langa: He's generally like your average coffee shop employee, trying his best to get orders right, but he does tend to spell names wrong. He forgets to say "hello" and "have a nice day" and has been told by his manager to give some small talk but Langa keeps dismissing it. He just wants to go home the majority of the time and tries his best to stay focused and on task at work. He picks up on Reki's mistakes a lot of the time.

Miya, when he's old enough to work: He isn't the best brewer but he can get people's names correct most of the time, at the very most giving customers a hello as they walk through the door. He will not hesitate to fight a Karen, throwing hands out in the parking lot, if necessary. He is very efficient but at times does get off task and it's sometimes difficult to get him back on task.

ORIGNALLY IT WAS JUST THE BLUE BG I CAME UP WITH HUT THEN THE IDEA TO SPILIT IT CAME TO ME AND I WAS LIKE YEASSSSS

Now, why meiko and miku? Like ofc I dont ship meiko and miku cuz mikus 16 (plus kaito/luka x meiko supreme) but like when I discovered who meiko was xuz of how underrated she is compared to the crypton characters (and vocaloids in general tbh) I was going through my sk8 major brainrot and i relaised in a way shes "similar" to reki and like how miku is "similar" to langa (position wisse)

Out of the crypton characters meiko had been out longer than miku, but she wasnt an instant hit amongst producers and fans, and didnt make it big for a long time, she was(and still is) underrated, and most people either weren't a fan of hers or didnt really pay attention to her. It really was only after mikus release did she make it big and now more people have come to appreciate her and realise how amazing of a voice bank she is. Shes also difficult to tune/use but if used properly can do some of the most amazing sings and has some INSANE songs that I just HOOO BOY LOVE EM

Miku came out later than meiko but was a huge success and became a hit much faster and much bigger than meiko ever did and ever will. She sounds incredible, is easy to tune, and has sung some of the most incredible vocaloid songs to exist! Every one knows her, everyone loves her for a great reason!! Shes incredible and she deserves the fame because shes has an amazing voice!

SO YEAH!!! LOVE MY SK8ER CHIKDREN AND LOVE MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER AND LOVE JT WHEN THEY SING

Also though i didnt plan to finish this for this month still, happy pride month!!!

37. Promote one of your own “deep cut” fics (an underrated one, or one that never got as much traction as you think it deserves!). What do you like about it?

I think I shall pick one from each of my 3 main ships atm.

For Snarry --- the first fic that comes to mind is Red Strings. It's one of the first long fics I wrote coming back to writing and idk. I just wanted to read more Asian influenced Harry Potter fics? Or maybe I'm picking the wrong fics to read. At the time I was having trouble finding a 'red string of fate' Snarry fic to read. So, I rolled up my sleeves and I sat down at my computer. Write the fics you want to see in the world! That's my motto! *nods*

For Matchablossom --- it has to be Devotion. I'm spoiled in the Snarry fandom, truly. There will always be interaction on my Snarry fics. (No matter how small or how weird the fic is. I mean, I wrote several anthropomorphic Snarry fics. Bat!Snape and Fruit!Harry, anyone? 😂) And people are so happy to engage with me! However, with my SK8 the Infinity fics? Not so much. Mostly cause I don't hang out with the fandom on Twitter and I write non-popular tropes and/or fic lengths. Which, I'm totally fine with! But Devotion? Man, I love that the fic to bits. A found family fic, yes. But I also like to read about established relationship going through relationship milestones without the character's fears along the lines of 'omg, we disagree with this one small thing and now we have to break up' drama. Idk how to describe it. Is it even a niche---a somewhat healthy relationship dynamic with couples that actually communicate? I'm chalking it up to my very particular tastes/needs/wants. 😂 But, yes. That fic was tailor made for me.

And for Thorki. My OTP. --- A Star's Birth. I have yet to fully write a plot heavy fic (or a super long fic) for my OTP. They intimidate me. I have so much feels for this ship idk where to start (or even when to stop, tbh.) This fic was written for Flash Fiction Friday. They provide a prompt and you have 24 hours to write something for the prompt. I'm used to super low hits. (One of my goals is to write a fic where I get ZERO hits, which is super hard! I thought I got it with my Dick Fight Island drabble! There were only 2 other works! Who would be looking for fics for that manga series!?!?! Alas.) But this Thorki fic I was a tad disappoint in its reception. But what can you do? Maybe it's the one-sided daughter/father romantic relationship that threw people off. 🤭🤭🤭 I also tried a different writing style, which was fun! Another point for that fic! *nods*
