Embarrassingly, it's very hit and miss... I want to! I love and cherish every single comment I ever get! But I find the process of replying to comments bizarrely stressful, so sometimes it takes me... a while. And that while might be, like, years. Sorry!!

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I genuinely don't have anything with an angsty ending posted; I need my boys to be happy too badly for that. I guess I could say maybe striking out - just because it's not finished yet, and where it is in the story right now is angsty af!

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

All of them have rom-com level happy endings lol. Maybe Clue(less) - it's a childhood friends-to-lovers soulmate AU, so it has all the sap that comes with those particular tropes wrapped up in there.

Do you get hate on fics?

I wouldn't call it hate, per se - but I guess my interpretation of Stiles is a bit harsher/more rough-edged than others I've seen, and some people don't vibe with that, so I get comments telling me they don't like Stiles in my story for XYZ reason.

To be clear - I also don't write Derek as a completely faultless, entirely perfect guy. I also have him do bad (arguably worse, in some fics) things. But for some reason, I don't ever really get the same kind of comments about him!

Do you write smut?

Like, almost exclusively at this point. It's like my brain can't come up with a story unless I'll get a chance to write them fucking nasty in it.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

omg yes! years ago! It was this Destiel HS AU I had posted on AO3 (since deleted because it was... not good) and someone posted it onto ff.net and claimed it was theirs. I can't remember if I ever was successful in getting it taken down.

I don't think so!

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I have not.

All time favourite ship?

All time is so hard... I do probably have to say Sterek. I shipped them intensely back in 2012, and I ship them even more intensely now. So - yeah. Probably them.

What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Are we talking real WIP that I've actually made a meaningful dent in? Or just ideas I've put down to paper?

Because I have so many ideas, there isn't enough time to actually finish them all lol. But for fics I have actively started, I'm pretty confident I'll manage to muddle through to the end of all of them, even if it takes a little while.

What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue and smut, I think.

I tend to develop a scene around the dialogue - in that, it's the dialogue that will come to me first when I'm planning the outline, and I'll note it down for when I come around to writing the scene. Then it's mostly a case of refining that dialogue and building the scene with descriptions around it.

I also love smut as character study. It's not just about being horny for them. It's about being horny for their introspection, too.

What are your writing weaknesses?

I don't have the imagination to come up with some of the flowery prose I see and love from other people. I wish I did, but that's just not how my brain works unfortunately!

Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

I only really feel comfortable writing in languages I'm fluent in. For anything else, I think we all know Google Translate can't be trusted, so I just... avoid it.

Favorite fic you've written?

Oh god, this is hard. Let's go with a Teen Wolf fic, because they're the nearest and dearest to my heart right now.

I think I'd say feels so good inside. It was so much fun to write, and I just love loss of virginity fics so damn much.

my lit professor says i write good metaphors? which i'll agree with, i like the way i describe inner monologues.

What are your writing weaknesses?

smut in many ways but especially in the sense of "oh my god can the english language please pretty please come up with a new synonym for cock i can't do this."

also, i have a hard time writing dialogue that feels organic to me? i think the end result works out fine but it doesn't come immediately

Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

i'm fluently bilingual and do switch between english and portuguese in conversation, so it does feel realistic for a character to do that, but it's down to personal taste when i like it or not

rules: list five things you never get tired of writing. it can be tropes, themes, characters, phrases, whatever brings you joy. then tag five people!

Angst - I have depression and go through random bouts of late night sadness and the easiest way to work through it sometimes is to just write something sad and cry while doing so. Also sometimes you just gotta put your fav ships through pain to find the happiness in the end. Just like depression. You go through the pain, but happiness is right around the corner.

Smut - you absolutely cannot stop me from writing smut. I’ve been doing it since I was 12 years old and it’s something I just know I can write. I felt weird for being so young and liking something so sexual, but then I found out half of the writers were young teenage girls who were finding out about sexuality and whatnot (much like myself) and it wasn’t a big deal like I thought it was. It was just apart of growing up and realizing that some people just mature faster than others and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Men in love - I’m gonna be completely honest, I started shipping men back in the 1D fandom when the Larry Proof videos started making appearances (even if they never come out and say anything, those looks they gave each other? They were in love). I,however, did not start writing for men in love until 2019 when I was presented with Reddie (Eddie Kaspbrack and Richie Tozier) from the remake of IT. It started out with me reading the ship until my own ideas formed and after that, I found how much I enjoyed writing for a pair of men so clearly in love with each other. Icemav is my new fav ship to write for this 🤭

Size differences - I LOVE WRITING FOR SIZE DIFFERENCES. When one partner is so clearly smaller than the other and projecting their need for love and attention, while the taller one gives off “I must protect and love this small creature with everything in me”. It fits all of my ships so well and I love writing this dynamic interact.

Mutual pining idiots - when they’re in love or in lust with each other and it’s so clear to everyone around them, but they’re literal dumbasses who can’t tell the other wants to kiss them or pin them against a wall. It never gets old. It’s goes so well with friends to lovers and enemies to lovers. Like, do y’all really hate each other or do you just want to fuck? Bc everyone here can see that you want to jump each others bones except y’all. I will probably forever write this trope.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I do! I try my best to reply to every single comment a person leaves on any and all of my fics, no matter how old! I hope it encourages them to KEEP writing comments, not just to me, but to any authors. Fic authors suffer a huge disparity between kudos/views/bookmarks and actual comments written. The ratio sucks so bad, actually, it's kinda disheartening.

There's a big difference between eating someone's homemade cookies at an event and giving them a thumbs up before walking away, and staying at the table to tell them how the texture and sweetness was PERFECT, and they don't even usually like snickerdoodles, but you made them so well, they want more and more, they're so glad you're at the event and so glad you brought your cookies!! -- like, that really is the difference between leaving a kudos and comment. Comments are my lifeblood.

I've also made great fandom friends in the comments section of my fics lol

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

On loserchildhotpants the angstiest angst I ever wrote is in the Angst November collection for kylux -- none of them have happy endings, and happy endings are sort of my staple! It was fun to write a series of tragedies though. Beyond that, probably my kylux series Not About Angels

On someonetoanyone, probably The Levee Breaking, which is just a specific scene rewrite that offers an alternative to Despair where Cas' body is left behind by The Empty or One And Only, Time And Again which is endverse, so.....

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

A curious question! The HAPPIEST? Huh.... uh.

On loserchildhotpants probably Seeing Wolves (Where There Are No Wolves) or Madman and a Fool. The endings for both those fics are gooey and tooth-rotting lmao

On someonetoanyone maybe Being Lead Home or It Won't Be Perfect ? idk this is a hard question lmao what makes a happy ending happier than another?? sdljkfh

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Yes! I have had to delete several fics in the past because the threats, suicide-baiting, slurs, and absolute vitriol was actually too much for my heart.

One of the reasons I made a new account was to outrun that sort of abuse. There were people that knew and fucking hated loserchildhotpants and among several other reasons, i decided making a new account was a good idea, but the hate i got on fics under loserchildhotpants was definitely a contributing factor.

I've had people be shitty about my fics on someonetoanyone in the bookmarks and on twitter and tumblr but not on the fics themselves.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

i write so much smut sldkjfhsldkjfhksdhj now, i'm generally a p vanilla smut writer; some end-of-fic, on-top-of-the-covers w the lights on missionary stuff, but I've been widening my horizons as of late.

I went outside my typical comfort zone for Red, Red, Red (sterek), and Arrows Made of Desire (sterek), and I've got an unpublished WIP on someonetoanyone rn that's sitting in the drafts and it's... perhaps the most animal, insane, monsterfucking smut i've ever written lmao sdlkjfhsdkfjh but y'know, after writing so many years of original flavor smut, you wanna take up new challenges!

Like, im not into food play, so i would have never thought of it on my own, but someone prompted me w it and i was like '.... you know what, i bet i could write the shit out of that' and i did! lmao (the fic in question is on someonetoanyone; Lost In The Sauce lmao) it's not my usual gig, which made it exciting and new and fun! so, i'm usually v vanilla but i am starting to try new flavors lol

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I have not written any crossovers, but I'm attempting my first one! It's for a dear friend, and I'm trying to make it just right, but this is way harder than i thought it would be lmao

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Several! Oh my god, so many of my fics have been stolen, and I always find out through a reader. Someone always lets me know through a comment like 'hey, head's up, [x] has literally copy and pasted this entire work and replaced the names w their current ship' and every time my shit is stolen or reposted on different sites without credit, i see fuckin red, dude.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Many! I was going to list them here, but it's actually a v long list lol if you look at my top kudos'ed fics on loserchildhotpants, you'll find several translations and podfics of those available, and i think maybe two of my fics on someonetoanyone have been translated as well : )

13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

Sorta? We haven't published it yet, but once it is published, I'll have officially cowritten a fic lol check back in

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

i have stared at this question for 5 full minutes i have no idea sdkjfhlsdkfjh i can't choose!!!! i love them all so much T A T my top five IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER are probably destiel, bagginshield, kylux, spirk, and johnlock (this list being comprised of who i have read the most fic for - although, sterek also deserves a spot tbh)

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

I do not have an unfinished work currently that I have no intention of going back to. A few months ago, I went to loserchildhotpants and deleted all unfinished works that would not be finished, so if it's still up on AO3, it's JUST a hiatus and i WILL be returning to it someday

16. What are your writing strengths?

... uhhhh... huh. Does tangential, narrative metaphor count? Tbh I'm not sure. When folks have told me what they specifically like about my writing, the consensus has been that it 'feels like [i am] ripping [the reader's] heart apart and then tenderly putting it back together' and that my stories on the whole are 'satisfying.'

I have a certain speaking cadence, and I write like a talk, and I talk like I write, so people can usually hear it in their heads as they read. Whenever I am composing what I hope is a deeply emotional crescendo, it appears to land ?

Again, no idea what I'm doing there, idk the technical word for that. Maybe pacing? But it feels tied to diction too... composition ??? idk skdljhfksjdh if anyone's got an answer to this, lemme know

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Exposition and character introduction skdjlfhslkdjhf too many years of writing fic have allowed me to neglect these skills and i'm really bad at them. i just hate exposition!! just let me psychically transfer the information to you!! how do i write out the rules of the universe in a way that doesn't feel like a boring info-dump ??? thiS IS HARD

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Back during my FF dot net days, I'm p sure my first fic was an Inukag fic for Inuyasha. Back in the day, I majorly wrote for Inuyasha, OHSHC, HP, Death Note, Star Trek and South Park. But yeah, I think the first time i was like 'i need these two to kissy kiss right on the LIPS' was when i was 10 and watching Inuyasha for the first time sljkdhfskjdfh

hmmm i wouldn’t say that i’m exactly embarrassed “about it existing”, but i guess i would say the smut that i write haha. i’ve got a few nsfw wips since i do like to write it occasionally but i feel like i’m not very good at writing it lol, so i’ll probably never post any of it shsbsjakhskshs (unless ppl like. really want it ig but that would still take a lot of convincing)

4) favorite character you’ve written

IT-specifically: i love writing eddie. i love writing eddie getting all flustered ab his feelings, it’s so fun heheh

just like, for general fanfic…. i love writing bokuto from haikyuu, he’s just so fun to write, i have many one shots for him :3

for NON FIC CHARACTERS……. i actually don’t really write much original content, but i do have a general story plot and some ocs that have been rotating in my mind for a few years now. i don’t really have many details for them, and i don’t even have names for most of them, but one of my favourite ocs is a surrogate-older-brother type, where this kid (another one of my ocs) enters his life and he looks at this kid and just thinks. “alright. i gotta protect him now.” & he’s very sweet and silly and he’s honestly probably one of the first ocs i ever created (i saw he doesn’t have a name but that’s not true i’ve cycled through like 10 names for him over the years but i’ve never been able to find one that truly sticks lmao) and yeah! i don’t really write much ab him but i do think of him from time to time with fondness <3

8) favorite genre to write

definitely romance!!! (as you can probably tell by my fics and hcs lol) but i do also like trying to write horror/thriller. i don’t think i’m super good at it yet, but apart from romance (and angst dhsjahak) horror/thriller is my next favourite to write!

14) do you make playlists for your current wips?

sometimes! i only really have like an actual a playlist for puppy love, and ofc the reddie karaoke fic (that i actually haven’t written anything for…..), but i do enjoy just finding songs that i think fit my wip. i don’t always put them into playlists, but it’s fun to find songs :)

Hey y’all.

I am (fortunately? unfortunately?) still alive. I fell off the face of the earth anywhere from a year to 2 years ago, depending on whether you follow me from here, AO3, YouTube, or insta. Things had been going downhill for a while, but last year... well, I guess everyone kinda had a rough year last year, but if you wanna indulge me:

At the start of covid quarantine, I took a minimum wage job at a local pharmacy that was well below what I am worth. Three reasons for doing this: 1. I was missing pharmacy experience from my resume, 2. I wanted to help out my community during a vulnerable time, and 3. The doctor who owned the pharmacy promised me I could work closely with him and then he would write me a recommendation for this medical program in Ireland (basically my dream school and program).

So I worked at the pharmacy during covid and got screamed at by Karens all day every day, and in the meantime I applied to the program. I was immediately given an interview and then offered a place with scholarship money.

And then the doctor just never turned in the recommendation he had promised me, so they had to pull my acceptance and give my place to someone else.

I literally went through all five stages of grief. My dream, the ultimate culmination of my life’s work and studies, was right in my hands, and then it was yanked away from me.

Eventually I pulled myself out enough to apply for an MSc at the University of Dublin. I’m leaving next month. It’s really just a time-filler until I can reapply for the medical school, but it’s something, and my parents were going to help me pay for it.

And then my dad got arrested so now all their money is going towards legal fees, meaning I have a one-way ticket to Dublin and a $32,000 tuition bill in my lap.

So, that’s where I went this last year, and honestly it’s starting to get a lot better and I’m feeling a lot more hopeful. Sure, I have no idea how the hell I’m gonna afford any of this, but in comparison to everything else, that actually seems pretty... manageable.

I’m feeling inspired to create again. I honestly don’t know if that will manifest as more rants about horror movies on YouTube, more Pokemon-inspired makeup looks on my instagram, or more elaborate analyses of the music of Lorde on my Tumblr, but I am so excited to find out where my weird muse takes me.

I’m writing again for the first time in over a year. I don’t even know how active the Reddie fandom is anymore, and I figure a lot of fans have (understandably) given up on me, but I’m still so excited to get all these new ideas out and post them on AO3, and I can’t wait to share them with the people who are still around.

I’m going to Ireland. I might be broke and starving, but I am going to Ireland.

What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work? (in other words, what do you think is the best introduction to your fics?)

Hmm. I guess it depends on who's asking! I've written like... 200 fics???? I think maybe Seeing Wolves (Where There Are No Wolves) on my loserchildhotpants account is a good introduction to like... my writing style? I guess? And it covers my most used tropes; slow burn, mutual pining, love confessions, eventual smut, etc etc.

So, first, I'm not big on AU's typically. I'm a basic bitch, i like canon-divergence best of all, and I don't usually stray outside that until I'm like, running out of things to read in the canon-divergent tags lol that said, a canon-divergent AU i NEVER get sick of (for my current fandom - destiel) is time travel fuckery. Older!Dean going back in time, meeting his younger self, or interacting w early seasons Cas, or Older!Cas going back in time and meeting Stanford Era!Dean, Stanford Era!Dean getting plonked into later seasons canon and meeting Cas at all -- it's delicious to me.

23. What's a trope, AU, or concept you've never written, but would like to?

Oh, so many. I'd like to try my hand at omegaverse (i've only read a handful in my LIFE that didn't feel weirdly transmisogynistic and over-the-top sexualized to the point that it had an opposing effect where it was suddenly sexless to me? I feel like i could mASTER IT AND GET IT RIGHT i just have no plot ideas yet lol), sex pollen something or other I'd love to do, I'd love to do a time travel fic of my own, I'd love to write a djinn dream fic, amnesia fic, murder husbands fic -- i wanna do all the things!!!

On my loserchildhotpants account, I think June is the one I was most proud of that didn't get much feedback. And it's got all the hits for the reddie fandom! Emotional Hurt/Comfort, Angst with a Happy Ending, Mutual Pining, Love Confessions, First Kiss, it's Richie-centric and i was really proud of the pacing and imagery of June :( the only person to ever point out June to me was my friend Grace, and it made me SO happy to know at least one person remembered June by name and that it came to mind as a favorite ; _ ;

On my someonetoanyone account, I think So Tirelessly maybe deserved some more love ; _ ; i love writing endverse!destiel and i plan to write more of it in the future, but this fic was short and bittersweet and i enjoyed writing it. i was like 'oh yeah, this one's a banger' and then it didn't really draw attention lol

In a johnlock rec that WILL shock someone, 'The Quiet Man' by ivyblossom - it's 157k words and i could. not. put. it. down. and why is this shocking? it's in First Person POV and i usually can't handle First Person POV bc it personally gives me the cringe (godspeed to everyone enjoys it, i mean no offense, it's just not personally for me) but this fic Changed My Life and genuinely made me rethink how and what I write.

And in a final, spicy and unpredictable thorki rec that no one asked for, 'Find A Home,' by Aria and filiabelialis is... incredible. A MEGAPOST

I've gotten 4 messages in the last 3 days telling me to stop self promoting because I suck at writing. Problem is, I'm spiteful.

But Amanda! You write like you're running out of time! Where should we start? What are your favorites?

So glad you asked, Amanda!  My new one Not Invited is a little angsty, a lot sweet, just a sprinkle of smut. Wedding Objections are a fave trope for me.. Favorite line? Glad you asked!  "I'm not going anywhere this time, Richie. I swear. Not if you don't want me to." He pulled back a little and looked Richie in the eyes. "Just tell me you don't want me to."  Exactly. There's also a really tender, non-sexual shower scene that I'm v proud of.

I'll also always plug my Everything Has Changed universe. Yes, it's a chapter 2 fix it where everyone lives, basically, because I said so. Also, yes, it's one massive fic plus five one shots. But it's my baby.

Hilights? Their vows/Stan's speech in You'll Be Mine And I'll Be Yours. The chapter in Feeling Like I Missed You titled 'the dark days when the fear crept into my mind' is SUPER important to me and I'm always worried that it doesn't play like I want it to. Also, a little earlier, Stan's Pennywise torture (same time as the doors, the girls bathroom, the clubhouse, and Bill's basement).

Exit Light, Enter Night is a Nightmare on Elm Street inspired bloodbath in which Richie and Eddie are the only Losers that survive. and it only has like 90 hits and it hurts me a little, tbh. I think that's largely because I didn't get it up before Halloween but I'm a spooky bitch and it's a horror movie Fandom so I thought maybe.

To Me That's What You're Worth is a soft spot for me- Gilmore Girls x Reddie au? It's based around the plot where Luke and Lorelai get together so it's v fuzzy and warm.

Also, both of my SansaxTyrion fics are very dear to my heart. As I lay beside the fire is sort of a post s8 fic. It was only a word is a soulmate au fic and those are (strangely) lacking in the GOT world but like... I'm just really proud of those, especially because I had taken a hiatus from writing and watching dumb and dumber fuck this show into the ground in 6 short episodes made me realize that nothing I write could be that bad.

The stuff before that is fairly sporadic because I wasn’t writing as much, but the last 2 years or so, I’ve been pretty active. Everything below is going to be considerably older than any of the Sanrion or Reddie.

121 was written the day I finished Stranger Things s1 because I had been seeing an influx of ST posts but still getting doctor who and was having a hard time discerning my elevens and it still took me a hot minute to post it because I was embarrassed.

So I Learned from you and Reading The Signs are Everlark and, honestly, those two fics were where I really started to feel comfortable as a writer. So I learned from you is still one that I'm massively proud of because it wasn’t an adaptation of any sort. It was completely from my brain.

You Disgust Me Werewolf Baby is pure drarry Christmas fluff. It is a marshmallow with pastel sprinkles.

Warm to the bones is the first smut that I remember feeling good about after writing. It's Rumplestiltskin & Belle and basically she's put under a spell that can only be broken by an orgasm. (Aka my first ever ships were drarry and wolfstar so sex spells are in my brain forever. One of my favorite fics of all time was an accidental marriage enemies to husbands between Draco and Harry and OOF my 14 or 15 year old world was R O C K E D. Like, I still look for it occasionally but I'm like 99% sure it's lost to the internet b/c I'm fairly certain it was on LiveJournal).

this is a series i’ll reread a lot bc it’s so fucking good. follows young reddie into early adulthood, mostly a bunch of cute shit where they figure out themselves and their relationship. also contains the single best teen reddie fic in existence, he came in through the window, but reading the whole series is a must

brokeback derry and everything else by Amuly, rated E

27 years in between, richie and eddie reconnect in their 20s and meet back up in derry twice a year to remember and love each other before going back to their lives and forgetting. so much pain. there’s a lot of sweet stuff in there, but you can see shit’s gonna get complicated from miles away and the anticipation almost gave me stomach ulcers (in a good way). ultimate angst with a happy ending.

speaking of angst with a happy ending...Martian AU!!!!! this one fucked me up in the best way, i literally called my roommate at 2am to vent to her about my emotions after reading it. i go back and reread chapter 8 just to be overwhelmed by it, and it makes me cry every time. plus, there are awesome sequels/companion pieces in the series! read this, i beg you!

richie and eddie meet on grindr in the 27 years between and hey, whadda ya know, they fall in love! i really love this fic but i’m pretty sure it’s been abandoned. i’ve had it open on my phone browser for like 3 months with no update but i still check it regularly bc i’m pathetic and this fic is just so good i’m DYING to know what happens next so read at ur own risk

a strange sense of familiarity [WIP] by Katranga, rated E

another “they meet and fall in love without remembering” fic, and even though it’s not complete yet, it gets regular updates. oh, also, i’m obsessed with it. they’re long distance fuck buddies who can’t admit they’re in love, and then they get hit with the childhood memories! and everyone lives! what’s not to love!  also PLEASE read kisses take like mint and every other reddie work by this author, they are all fantastic

adult friends by sudowoodo, rated T

AU where adult reddie meet at a first aid seminar for work (immediately fall in love), become friends, become best friends, and finally get to be happy. has some super repressed eddie and intensely pining richie, which is always fun, and genuinely made me laugh out loud. also please check out this author’s other reddie fics, there’s some super sweet kid reddie in there that really warms the heart

the mind's a funny fruit by joldiego, rated T

eddie wakes up barely alive in derry, has 0 memory, calls himself richie, and moves in with some lesbians. an absolute must read that ought to be on every reddie fic rec compilation. i read this a long time ago and just thinking about it makes me want to read it again.

now what i'm gonna say may sound indelicate [WIP] by IfItHollers, rated E

it took me entirely too long to find this fic since i joined the fandom, and it’s truly a fucking masterpiece. it’s almost at 200k now and still unfinished, and the slow burn is excruciating, but this is a legendary fic for a reason. eddie spends the first chunk of this fic in the hospital recovering from the massive chest wound, and then he and richie move the recovery to ben’s cabin in the woods. the author’s notes for each chapter are a story in themselves

signs of a new lifetime by swordfishtrombones, rated T

one of the sweetest, most romantic reddie fics i’ve ever read. a fresh take on a classic concept: post-ch2, they’re in love, they haven’t said/done anything about it yet, BUT!!! it’s not angsty! they are all cute and giggly like “you say it first!” “no, you say it first!” and it makes me fucking MELT

back-to-back recs from the same author! bc i love these fics so much! sort of similar to the last one in that they both know what’s up and just haven’t said it, but this one’s got the angst! i didn’t know when i read it that it was the same author as the other fic, and i thought how funny, i found another reddie author that perfectly captures this pair in such a wonderfully romantic way! i also just noticed there’s a follow up to this so now i have to go read that immediately

eurydice; the original comeback kid by Vulcanodon, rated M

for the love of god please read this and the other work in this series. it’s a ch-2 fix-it with some intense action sequences and major pining, and it has haunted me since i first read it

love on the telephone by tempestbreak, rated E

okay this one is really just 30k of pure smut but it’s also so sweet and features a mini sexual awakening for eddie and some insecure richie with an emphasis on how much they love and trust each other. also it doesn’t hurt that the smut is fire, like does anyone else want that twink obliterated, or is it just me?

the boy who loves you by candlejill, rated E

eddie lives, richie confesses, things are chill and then they’re not. richie’s career flourishes, which is always nice to read and is what ultimately catalyzes eddie’s gay awakening and realization of his love for richie. it’s got some sad angsty parts and a very sweet ending, and it up there as one of my favorite reddie fics of all time

a refreshing and realistic take on life ch-2 for the losers, because being in love at thirteen doesn’t mean you can fall into a perfect relationship at 40. i’ll admit, i’m hoping this will ultimately be a “richie and eddie get back together” fic, but it’s still a very good read (and often very funny in the second chapter) at the moment in the midst of their break up

character study with some incredible fucking prose, my lord it gorgeous. explores how eddie learns about love as he grows up, and it’s super fucking sad sometimes bc the poor boy doesn’t know how to have the things he wants and i just want to give him a hug, but it’s really a spectacular fic

circular motion by sinchronicity, rated M

soulmate!AU that follows book canon and even though it’s been a long time since i’ve read it and the details are fuzzy, i remember absolutely loving it and thinking it was incredible

i resisted reading this fic for so long, recently broke and binged all of it, and now i’m like frothing at the mouth for updates. richie’s a closeted actor/comedian who meets eddie, a professional Dom, when he needs help researching a role. they become friends, they develop crushes, richie realizes he’s a sub, and it’s just so much fun to read

there’s a lot more fics to rec so i might add on to this in the future, but in the meantime my biggest tip for for reading fanfiction that took me embarrassingly long to figure out: focus on the authors! if you read something you like, check out the rest of the work by that author bc odds are you’ll like that too. i mentioned it in a few specific works above, but check out the authors catalogues for these fics. if i included every work by these authors that i loved, this list would be miles long
