Season 1 AU. After the events at the Byers house, during that time when Nancy has broken up with him, Steve decides he's turned over a new leaf and so must everyone else. Nicole, Carol, Tommy H. He catches Tommy getting into a fight with one of Eddie's sheep and tells him to knock it off.
Eddie who was about to come in swinging is impressed. And maybe develops a little crush on new Steve.
Steve starts becoming a hard ass on and off the court, pushing his friends to be better people and in Tommy's case a better player. The coaches at first tell Steve to go easy on the team, but when they start seeing the results, they back off and let him at it.
He pushes Tommy to get counseling from Ms Kelly for his anger issues. And it works.
So Steve starts branching out and targeting other bullies and not just his friends.
He breaks up what he will later learn was a deal gone wrong between Eddie and a football player, causing Eddie to blurt "Marry me!"
Steve laughs and tells him to buy him dinner first.
Eddie is mortified. And all the Corroded Coffin boys make fun of him for it.
But Steve starts popping up wherever Eddie is and his poor little cynical heart can't handle it.
Steve is being nicer to people. Including a certain blonde trumpet player in Mrs Click's class. He tells her he has a problem remembering names, but asks her for help in the class (he lost his study buddy, Nancy and picks Robin.)
Now Steve can't be everywhere and so the bullies start being more slick about it. Taunts and sneers. Hip checks and "accidental" tripping.
But one of these bullies target Gareth, a freshman. One of the varsity basketball players, a senior.
So Steve challenges the guy to a game of one on one. If this dude loses, he'll give up his place as captain and make it Steve. If Steve loses, he'll give up basketball and his one man mission to stop the bullying.
Nancy who was in the hall at the time turns to one of her friends and asks her if that was as hot as she thought it was it. The other girl can only nod.
Everyone shows up to this game. And the bully is confident. There is no way that this scrawny little junior is going to best him.
Only for Steve to win.
Everyone is stunned.
Afterwards, Eddie asks if that date was still on the table. Steve laughs and says he'd been waiting all month for Eddie to ask.
Nancy who was one her way to ask Steve to take her back, is upset when she overhears this conversation. She lost her chance with Steve.
Which of course changes season 2 because now that King Steve is king for a different reason, Billy's antics get shut down fast. Not just by Steve, but Carol and Tommy, too.
The possibilities are juicy on how else it changes things.

I don’t know if your request are open but I love your aunt y/n Sully series. Can I request one where there are men of the clan want to mate her. But her nephews (new included) don’t want her mated because they feel that it will take time away from them. So when ever they see a man walking up to her they get in the way. You can decide if she ends up with someone.

In one of the requests, I had mentioned Ruk'e who was Y/N partner (If you want to read more about it "HERE") But I didn't explain in depth how everyone's reaction was when they found out that their aunt had a partner. I think the most affected would be her nephews. Auntie Y/n has created a very strong bond with these children, she is like a second mother to them. But unlike their mother neytiri, they don't want to share her with anyone.
The first one to notice something is neteyam, he had gone to look for you to spend some time with you. And he felt that his little belly was hurting, and he knew that his aunt y/n would help him ease the pain with one of her favorite tea. Upon arriving at his location, he noticed a man standing next to you. You were laughing and he watched as he took some of the braid from his precious aunt's hair, placing it behind her ear. Neteyam was no fool, he was old enough to know that this man was flirting with HIS auntie. The boy runs to you, falling into your arms. Neteyam was your size, but he was still your baby. "Ahh net what happened honey?" you ask, you are surprised. Ruk'e moved a little away from you, looking at the cute scene before his eyes. " Auntie…my stomach hurts" neteyam says, now sitting between your legs to lay down on your chest. Stroking his stomach, pouting. You laugh a little, and caress his face. "net…how about we go to mo'at's and make that tea you like so much" you speak, the boy gets up quickly. Taking your hand, dragging you with him. He didn't even give you time to properly say goodbye to ruk'e. "See ya!!!" you shout, waving goodbye to him. The man copies your movements, even he could feel the boy's jealousy. It was very adorable for him.
Neteyam told everything to his brothers, who fell a little panicked. Because the little neteyam's words were something like "that man will take aunt y/n away from us forever, and she won't love us anymore" causing kiri and lo'ak to start crying. For eywa they could not lose you. So they decided to form a plan, to get that man out of your way. Of course, they had to recruit the whole squad. So they go running after spider.
To their bad luck, spider had already met ruk'e. And to make things worse, he really liked him. "What are you talking about!?????? He is the enemy!!!" shouted lo'ak taking his cousin by the shoulders and moving him from one side to the other. The poor boy looked like a puppet. Kiri pushes lo'ak. "Hey…you're hurting him," the girl says, hugging spider. Neteyam approaches, looking seriously at spider. He was trying to imitate his father, standing up straight with his head held high. "Spider….that man wants to take aunty y/n away from us…you must not be kind to the enemy. We must unite and defeat the 'auntie-stealer'" says neteyam, lo'ak and kiri clap him from behind, his little speech had excited them. Spider laughs. "Ruk'e is good to me…he's nice. I like him" spider is interrupted as he grabs his head. "We've lost him… he's had his brain eaten" lo'ak shouts exaggeratedly. Kiri hugs spider tighter. "Hey…I think he'd be a good dad…for me" says spider. His cousins almost faint. "We have to lock him in the lab until this whole thing is resolved" says neteyam, motioning to his brothers to catch spider. SPider runs off, as everyone runs after him. You could hear the giggles. "'They're really close, aren't they?" says ruk'e. You were next to him, both of you were hanging out together. "Yeah…they're inseparable" you laugh, as you watch lo'ak throw himself on top of spider, followed by kiri and neteyam.
The boys had a mission, and they were going to follow through with their plan. The days had passed, and every time they saw their aunt with that man. They would run to ask for your help, or they would make up any excuse to get away from him. They thought everything was going great. It wasn't until one night, when the children heard the voice of their aunt y/n entering the hut. They started to approach the entrance, but stopped short. They noticed how behind their aunt, stood the man they had tried to scare away behind their aunt. Lo'ak saw how the man was holding his aunt's hand, the boy was about to cry. "Lo'ak!!!" shouts spider, the child was next to you.
Neteyam ran as fast as he could, stopping in front of the couple. Stretching out his hands and feet. He looked like a starfish, a pretty blue starfish. "No….he will not enter our home. AUNT Y/N…STAY AWAY FROM HIM" neteyam shouts. This gets the attention of jake and neytiri. "Neteyam!!! What's wrong with you?" says neytiri. Approaching to where her son is, taking him by the arm. But the boy soils himself, and runs to hug his aunt. Followed by lo'ak and kiri. All the children were hugging and you could hear how they were whimpering. "And what is wrong with you three?" you are confused. This was supposed to be a quiet reunion, not a sea of crying.
"He's going to separate us…I love you aunt y/n!!! he wants to take us away from you" shouts neteyam, You could tell the three kids looked funny. They were about your size. Maybe a few inches shorter than you, they had you wrapped in a hug. Crying and throwing tantrums. All the adults in the hut couldn't hold back a giggle. They looked so cute. "Hey…come here. Calm down" you speak, separating yourself from them. Taking their hands, to lead them to where they were all supposed to sit down to spend some time together.
"Listen…you know you guys are my whole life, I love you unconditionally. And no one…no one in this world will ever make me stop loving you." You speak, turning to signal ruk'e to sit next to you. Jake and neytiri watched the scene. They knew this was yours to fix, you were an important piece in their children's lives. "Ruk'e..is my mate" you speak, watching as kiri puts her hands to her mouth, she was about to protest. You reach over and take her hands in yours. "He is good to me…and he will be good to you too. And he will take care of you as much as I do" you speak, watching as lo'ak comes to your side, laying his head on your shoulder. "No…I don't want him to love me" neteyam says, you take his hand. Dragging him onto your lap, the boy clings to you. Snuggling into your chest like a baby.
"There…there. Stop being dramatic. Your aunt isn't going to leave you and no one is going to take anyone," says Jake, calming the mood a bit. Ruk'e takes out of his bag that he had on his waist, a kind of bracelet. It was very pretty, with soft colors. And carefully handed it to Kiri, the girl lowered her face a little blushing. "Here baby…I made this for you" says the man, watching as the girl carefully puts on the bracelet. Kiri thanks him, and sits closer to him. "And I also brought something for you two…little warriors." Ruk'e speaks. Watching as both children look at him intently. "Spider told me that you two really liked the ikrans …so" the man pulls out two ikran figurines, they were small and very precious. Lo'ak immediately approached him, taking the toy. Giving him a smile. "Thank you" says the boy softly, sitting down next to spider. Neteyam hesitated, but reached across your lap to take the toy.
After 2 hours, all the children were at ruk'e's side. Neteyam was next to him, explaining everything he had learned in his last classes. Lo'ak and spider were trying to climb the man's back. Which didn't bother ruk'e, to him they were two fleas playing on his back. While kiri was braiding a piece of his hair, putting some flowers in it.
You laugh, watching your partner play with your nephews. "thank goodness they were just upset." says jake, laughing. "They love you very much" says neytiri, you nod your head. Seeing the smiles your nephews and son had. They looked so happy…they're just a little jealous.

Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Epilogue
Tumblr media
Rooster walked out of the admiral’s office with his new orders clutched carefully in his hand. He kept his head held high as he walked through the narrow halls of the USS Gerald R. Ford, heading for his quarters to pack his bag and prepare to fly back to US soil. To Top Gun. To Miramar.
The Californian town had a lot of memories—some of the best and some of the worst of his life. It was the town where he lost his dad before he truly understood the gravity of it all. It was also the town where he spent his later years of high school after his mom died. Where he learned how to drive, where he graduated high school, where he had all of his firsts with a girl—now woman—whom he hadn’t seen since he stormed out of her life.
Cora Mitchell. Maverick’s daughter.
As a result of some poor decisions at nineteen, Maverick ended up with daughter only a few months younger than Bradley. Cora’s mom wanted nothing to do with her and even though Maverick was far from fit to be a father, he would have preferred falling down 100 flights of stairs than letting his child go into foster care.
Carole quickly offered to help raise Cora and help Maverick out. And as his mom used to call them, they were built in best friends. And in the later years of high school, they were a lot more than that. Sneaking into each other’s beds and spending the nights together was fairly regular and easy for them to pull off with Maverick’s bedroom on another floor.
Of course, then Maverick pulled his papers and then he left that life, and Cora, behind completely.
Rooster entered his room and shut the door behind him, heading for his bunk. His roommate wasn’t in, still doing drills with the rest of their squad, leaving Rooster alone with his thoughts. He opened the folder again, reading over the orders once more before he found his gaze shifting. Pulling out his personal bag, Rooster reached into one of the smaller pockets and pulled out a small photo preserved in laminate.
It was from a photo booth at Bradley’s senior prom. Cora sat on his lap, beaming at the camera as Rooster pressed a kiss to her cheek.
It was stupid to still be this curious about what Cora was doing with her life. After all, he was the one who broke up with her and stormed out of her life, saying all kinds of nasty things that he regretted the second that he said them. And he had to admit that he had scrolled through social media, trying to find a glimpse into her life, to no significant results.
All he knew was that she took some time off after high school and eventually graduated from nursing school. He assumed that she was still working as a nurse. And he knew that she now lived in or around Miramar. He didn’t have the guts to try and contact her when he was in town for Top Gun the first time around.
But maybe this new, and probably highly dangerous, mission would finally give him the kick in the ass to try and make things right with Cora. Even if it was just a simple apology, like a small ‘sorry,’ it would take away some of the guilt that ate away at his stomach every single time that he remembered her crestfallen expression and calls for him to come back.
Tucking the photo back into his bag, Rooster stood up and started to pack, letting his mind wander to what Cora’s life looked like now.
~~~~~
“Nicholas Peter Mitchell!” Cora thundered, marching towards the stairs, still dressed in her scrubs from work. “Get your butt down here now!”
Cora was only partially pleased to hear her son scrambling around, undoubtedly in the middle of some kind of panic due to her tone. She tapped her foot, able to picture her son’s exact expression of fear. She would have preferred that he simply told her ahead of time because then they could deal with it together, but he forced her hand by hiding it.
The sound of a door opening and a soft pattern of footsteps caused Cora to pick her head up. Her eyes narrowed when her son, Nickie, poked his head out from behind the wall with a sheepish smile. She shook her head when his expression gave away the fact that he knew exactly why she was upset. And that only caused her migraine to intensify.
“Hey, Mom. Did you have a good shift?” Nickie asked kindly, stepping out from behind the wall. “And did I mention that I love you and that you look more beautiful than usual today?”
Nickie, or simply Nick to his friends, was far from her twin. His hair was a light brown and curled at the end. His eyes were big and light brown, like someone she knew well in the past. The shape of his head and his cheekbones that were starting to emerge from the baby fat came from her side of the family, but the slope of his nose reinforced his father’s influence on his features.
But his sheepish, mischievous smile was definitely a Mitchell trait. Undoubtedly.
“When were you going to tell me that you got a speeding ticket?” Cora questioned, eerily calm despite her earlier yelling. “Today? Tomorrow? Next week? Never?”
“Mom, I already paid it off—”
“—When were you going to tell me?” Cora demanded, not amused. When Nickie fumbled for a response, Cora straightened up. “You have had your license for a month and you’ve already gotten a speeding ticket, Nickie. That’s not funny. You clearly do not understand that your car and your license are privileges, not rights.”
“It was at that speed trap under that highway pass on the way to school,” Nickie tried to explain, but Cora was not going to give him an inch of the moral high ground.
“I do not care where you got the ticket. I care that you were reckless behind the wheel of a motor vehicle. I care that you got a speeding ticket and now it’s on your record. And I care that you hid this whole thing from me.” Cora sighed, placing her hands on her hips and shaking her head at her son. “How much was it, Nickie?”
“Thirty bucks,” Nickie replied quietly.
“Well, then I think that thirty is an appropriate number of days to not need your car. And a good number of days to think about the importance of following traffic laws,” Cora stated, folding her arms over her chest. “Where are your keys?”
Nickie sighed and walked downstairs to grab his keys from the countertop. He quickly returned to his mother’s side and placed them into her open hand without a fight. Cora closed her hand and shoved the keys into her pocket.
“I’m serious, Nickie,” she stated softly, causing the teenager to turn back to her with doe eyes. “I don’t want you getting hurt. And speeding around, especially on these roads where there’s a thousand pedestrians and everything—it’s not safe. For you or anyone else.”
“I know, Mom. I’m sorry.”
“Thank you for having the maturity to realize that it was your bill to pay,” Cora offered her son in return, her tough exterior cracking just a bit. She rubbed her face tiredly. “And that’s probably what I get for letting your grandfather teach you how to drive.” Letting out a sigh, Cora dropped her hand from her face and turned back to Nickie. “How’s your homework coming?”
“Mostly done. I’ve got a test tomorrow.”
“Good.” Cora set her purse and the mail down on the countertop. “I’ll get started on dinner after I take a shower. Work on your homework and I’ll call you when I’m done.”
Cora walked into her bedroom and made a beeline for her on suite bathroom. Throwing her scrubs into her specified scrubs laundry bin, Cora quickly washed up from a long day at work. She changed into some comfortable clothes and a Navy sweatshirt before heading to the kitchen to start on dinner. The sun started to set in the distance as Cora waited for the chicken to cook.
The distinct sound of a Kawasaki caused her to look up from the oven, frowning with surprise. Walking over to the front windows, Cora was shocked to see her dad pulling into the driveway.
“What the—” Cora walked over and opened the front door, stepping out onto her front porch. “Dad? What are you doing here?”
“I thought that I would drop by since I was in town,” Maverick replied, setting up his kickstand and getting off his bike.
“Why are you in town? Not that I’m not happy to see you,” Cora added on, walking down to greet him. Maverick picked up the bag that he strapped to the back of his bike and pulled his daughter into a hug. But when she felt him wince, she instantly pulled back with a sharp, knowing look. “What happened now? What did you do this time?”
“Is that dinner that I smell?” Maverick asked, redirecting the conversation.
“You’re not getting out of this conversation,” Cora warned him, turning for her home and pulling the door open. “How many times do I have to tell you that you’re not twenty anymore? And could you at least wear a helmet once in a while?”
“Mom, who are you talking to?” Nickie yelled from upstairs.
“Your grandfather decided to drop by. Randomly,” Cora called back to her son.
A second later, there were a set of rapid footsteps echoing down the hall before Nickie appeared at the top of the stairs. His grin was immediately wide, showing the likeness between him and his grandfather, before Nickie hurried down the rest of the stairs to greet his grandfather.
“What are you doing in town?” Nickie asked, jogging over to Maverick.
“Well, I thought that it was a good idea to visit my favorite kid and grandkid once in a while,” Maverick joked, pulling Nickie into a hug despite his aching ribs
“Pops, I’m your only grandkid,” Nickie pointed out, frowning slightly.
“Still counts.” Maverick stared up at Nickie, jokingly inspecting him. “Did you get taller since the last time that I saw you? You look taller.”
“Maybe you’re just shrinking,” Nickie quipped, causing Maverick to turn to Cora.
“Don’t look at me,” Cora replied, gesturing to her own short stature. “Nickie over here got about three generations worth of height.”
Or, rather, he just had other genes to pull from when it came to height. And the men on the other side of Nickie’s family were all at least six feet tall, like Nickie was quickly shaping up to be. But not a single Mitchell in that household was going to bring that up.
Once dinner was finished cooking, the three Mitchells set the table and sat around, chatting and catching up since the last time that Maverick was in Miramar.
“I thought that you said that you wouldn’t be done with that project for a while,” Nickie stated, turning to his grandfather.
“Well, plans change,” Maverick replied noncommittally, glancing down at his plate.
“Because they were actually changed or because you felt the need to change them?” Cora deadpanned, cutting into her chicken.
“There might have been some . . . minor scheduling changes.”
“So, you’re not just visiting then,” Cora deduced, reaching for her drink. How she wished that it was wine instead of water.
“How long are you in Miramar for then?” Nickie asked excitedly, reminding Maverick painfully so of Bradley as a teenager.
“A few weeks. Somewhere around a month.”
“For what?”
“That’s classified,” Maverick replied, causing Nickie and Cora to roll their eyes in seemingly practiced sync. “I’d tell you, but—”
“—But then you’d have to kill us, yeah, we know, Gramps.”
“How’s school then? Still swimming and everything?” Maverick asked Nickie, changing the subject.
“It’s good. Swim doesn’t start for a few more weeks, but I’m trying to train before it. But I think I’m going to have to focus on running.”
“Why? Something wrong with the car?” Maverick questioned, looking concerned.
“No, just the driver,” Cora replied, setting down her utensils. “Nickie got a speeding ticket.”
“How bad?” Maverick asked, earning a sharp look from Cora. “I mean, that’s bad, Nickie. Don’t do it again. You have to get a little bit more driving experience before you start speeding.”
Cora sighed, holding her head in her hand for a moment as Nickie hid a smile behind his mouth. Maverick shot Nickie a joking smile before straightening up in his seat.
“But you’re doing good in school, Nickie?”
“Pretty well. Pre-calc is kicking my butt, but I think it’s supposed to get better.”
“Well, don’t be afraid to enjoy your teenage years a bit. Don’t go rushing off to try and grow up before your time,” Maverick replied, glancing over at his daughter for a moment. “Besides, I thought that you were going to try out for the surf team.”
“They want me to,” Nickie agreed, taking a bite of his dinner. “Mom’s a little scared to let me do it.”
“I just think that baseball is safer,” Cora replied softly, reaching for her drink. “Besides, between swim and water polo, you’re going to turn into a prune, Nickie. Not to mention that you go out sailing with Penny and Amelia all the time.”
“I just like the water, Mom,” Nickie stated, missing the pained expression on Cora’s face. “And besides, the baseball coach is an asshole.”
“Language,” Cora stressed, causing Maverick to chuckle.
~~~~~
After dinner, Nickie excused himself to finish up his homework. Cora and Maverick worked together to clean up after dinner and to set up the spare room for Maverick to sleep in while he was in town. But after the finished up the housekeeping, the father and daughter sat out on the back porch. Cora poured herself a glass of wine for the conversation and brought Maverick a beer.
“So, why are you really in town?” Cora asked, sitting down.
“Ice called me in,” Maverick stated, causing Cora to grow more serious instantly. “It’s a mission.”
“And not just any mission . . . is it?” Cora questioned, though she already knew the answer.
Ice wouldn’t have called Maverick in for just your run of the mill mission. This was a serious mission, that was certain. And that instantly caused Cora’s blood pressure to spike in an instant. Ice wouldn’t have called Maverick in unless it was something bordering on a suicide mission.
“No, it’s not,” Maverick agreed, nodding solemnly.
He looked away from his daughter for a moment, a rock settling in his stomach. It had been sitting there since a familiar face flashed on the screen in that conference room. But he knew that he had to unload it sooner rather than later.
To say that Maverick’s perspective on Rooster was complicated did not quite do it justice.
On one hand, as Cora’s father and Nickie’s grandfather, there was nothing that Maverick wanted to do more than to grab Rooster by his ear and give him the lecture of the century about responsibility and putting his personal emotions to the side to be a man and a father. Hell, if it was any other boy who did that to Cora, Maverick would have strapped him to the outside of the Darkstar and done a couple laps around the Earth.
But, on the other, as Goose’s wingman and the man who tried to raise Rooster, Maverick wanted Rooster nowhere near Miramar or this mission. Hell, Maverick did what he could to make sure that Rooster stayed as far away from a cockpit as possible. And that side of Maverick just wanted Rooster back in his life, safe and far from danger.
But being Cora’s father and Nickie’s grandfather was always the side that won out in the end.
“There’s something else,” Maverick began, causing Cora’s eyebrows to furrow with concern. “He’s involved in the mission.” Cora noticeably tensed up as Maverick added, “He’s here.”
“In Miramar?” Cora asked quietly, earning a nod from her dad. Sighing, she held her head in her hands for a moment. “Fuck.”
“Did you tell Nickie—”
“—No,” Cora interjected, cutting Maverick off. “No, I didn’t.” Not . . . not the whole story." She stared out at the backyard, out at the little swing set that Maverick and Ice built for Nickie on a warm afternoon so many years ago. “He’s supposed to be out in the middle of the Atlantic right now.”
“And I’m supposed to be in the Mojave.”
Nickie sat with his back to the wall, silently listening in on his mom’s conversation with his grandfather. He knew that it was wrong and he knew that he was already on thin ice with the speeding ticket, but he knew that his mom and his grandfather went outside to talk where he couldn’t hear them. But his mom always seemed to forget that the bathroom window was right above the patio.
“Have you seen him yet?” Cora inquired quietly, causing Maverick to nod slowly.
“Yeah, I did. Briefly. At the Hard Deck.”
“Did he see you?”
“I don’t think so, no,” Maverick replied, shaking his head.
Cora let out another sigh and held her head in her hands again. Maverick quickly got up from his seat, setting aside his beer and pulling his daughter into a tight hug. Cora latched onto her dad, trying to calm herself down and not shed anymore tears over Bradley Bradshaw.
But she failed. Just like she did the last thousand times.
Nickie clenched his eyes shut and curled his hands into fists. His mom was the strongest person that he knew. Life threw a thousand things at her and she somehow always managed to keep herself and him on their feet. But the second that anyone brought up his dad, she always flipped a switch.
She always broke down or went into absolute survival mode until something else snapped her out of it.
Nickie stopped asking about his dad when he overheard his mom sobbing to Penny in the middle of the night about how his dad still wouldn’t return her calls. It happened years ago, nearly a decade now, but it was still fresh in his mind. Burned there for the rest of his life. And, well, if his dad couldn’t even give his mom three seconds of his life, then Nickie wouldn’t give him an ounce of energy either.
And, hell, Nickie was a mama’s boy. And anyone who made his mom cry was dead to him. Dad or not, the fucker who never showed up for him or his mom was dead to Nicholas Peter Mitchell.
Whoever the hell he was.

The Only One
Steve Harrington x Reader.
Summary; I was watching Stranger Things earlier and the part where Nancy is in the trance that Vecna has her under and all I can think about is writing a similar story with the reader (like it's you it happens to instead of Nancy) and Steve freaking out.
You've been sleeping together for a while, it's just casual to him at least but you're falling for him but don't want to tell him, especially with all the shit going on in The Upside Down and Hawkins and with Steve and Nancy kinda connecting again.
Steve realises when he thinks he's going to lose you that he loves you and not Nancy and he confesses he loves you just as Vecna's hold on you breaks.
Warnings; Angst with a happy ending. 18+ minors dni
I don't give anyone permission to copy, reuse or repost my work.
❤️
The relationship between you and Steve had started a few months ago, both of you growing closer since July 4th last year.
The first night you slept together was a combination of Steve bemoaning a string of bad dates he had went on with a girl called Demi and you wanting to forget all the nightmares surrounding July 4th for a little while.
Then it snowballed to meeting up regularly, sneaking around during your shifts together at Family Video.
Honestly, the sex was mind blowing and the more you lost yourself in Steve, talking to each other until the early morning, getting to know him the more you fell for him.
Yet you kept quiet even as the new threat plaguing Hawkins was in full force.
It was no time to confess feelings, not now.
The new threat, Vecna. It drew Nancy and Steve together again, the unresolved tension hung in the air and you could only watch your stomach sinking as Steve gazed at Nancy.
He still loved her. He would never love you and it broke your heart.
Nancy dove right after Steve as fast as you did when he was pulled under water by the vines and into The Upside Down.
You saw the looks as she tended to his wounds after the demo bat attack, the way he reached for her when earthquakes rocked the Upside Down.
Every interaction tore your heart in two and yet you couldn't say a thing because no one knew about you and Steve.
Let's face it even if they did it's not like you could compare to Nancy. She was the first girl Steve loved, she was special.
You were just an outlet to him. Even if sometimes you thought that his feelings for you were deepening it was most likely wishful thinking on your part.
It didn't matter though, not now. Not when you had a possible brewing apocalypse to help stop.
So you pushed your broken heart aside.
❤️
You didn't know what happened. One minute you were climbing the rope made of bedsheets that Dustin had fashioned to help aid your way out of The Upside Down.
The next minute everything changed and you were falling through the air into nothingness, hearing the faint echoes of Steve calling your name fading away.
When you finally landed after what feels like hours, you're at the mall standing up shakily as fireworks burst around you.
Anna your friend who died last year near the mall, flayed just like all the other poor souls who had lost their life is currently walking towards you with a soft smile on her features.
Memories from last summer flood through you, how she died.
She was heading to the mall to pick you up from your shift at the small boutique clothing store but unbeknownst to her you were with the Scoop Troop at the time when you were meant to be finishing your shift and meeting her.
On the way there she had met Billy and it was too late for her, she had joined the flayed.
Guilt filled you up inside because you hadn't told her what had been going on with Billy, no matter if she thought it crazy or unbelievable if she knew what was really going on in Hawkins then she wouldn't have been out in the first place.
You were with Dustin, Erica, Robin and Steve at the time, pulled into the Scoop Troops mission to decode a translation that Dustin had heard on the radio.
You were friends with Robin and she reached out for your help in decoding the saying as both of you learnt many languages.
Everything after that was a blur, investigating that delivery company, being trapped in the lift that plunged down to the depths of Starcourt mall, being captured by Russians, Steve taking a beating for you and Robin...
Helping Dustin's friend El from Billy and that horrifying monster from trying to kill her, it was terrifying, your heart hammering in your chest as you were introduced to the horrors of living in Hawkins.
Another dimension of sorts right under your feet.
Anna walks over to you and your frozen on the spot. When Anna was confirmed to be part of the many people that died as the part of the Flayed, you were inconsolable.
The guilt plagued you, survivors guilt the counsellor had told you when you spoke about Anna to her briefly.
"Why didn't you mention what was happening? You knew what was going on in Hawkins with Billy, that monster and yet and not once did you mention anything to me?"
The words eat away at you and tears roll down your cheeks because you could have said something, found Anna and warned her once you escaped from the Russians but you didn't.
Between being drugged by the Russians, to escaping them and then all the shit that followed everything was focused on the absolute nightmare you and the rest of the Scoop Troop found yourself in.
But what if you had managed to find Anna somehow? It was irrational as there was no time but your mind constantly clung to the what ifs?
"There was no time, I'm so sorry, I wish I could have found some way to save you. Every day I think of what I could have done...I"
The smile from her face slips and anger flashes across her features.
"Lies! You could have but you didn't! You'd rather run around with Steve Harrington!
I bet you're so happy right now that his attention is all on you, sleeping with him to dull the fact that you're a bad friend, the guilt eating away at you"
Sobs escape your lips and you shake your head desperate for her to understand but she grips your arms tight, shaking you.
The smile is back but it's eerie, it makes your stomach bottom out.
"No matter, you'll die soon too, you all will" the voice that speaks isn't Anna this time. No, this voice sends chills down your spine and Anna morphs into a thing of nightmares.
The evil that killed Chrissy, Jordan and Freddie. Who had cursed Max.
Vecna.
❤️
You're someplace new now, surrounded by the bodies of people, children, teens and adults blooded and dead on the floor.
Fear pulses through you as you run through the halls. There's a sinking feeling inside you that this is where El was kept and experimented on, the others like her.
Sadness aches deep in your bones. What happened here?
Growls fill the air and fear roots you to the spot as Vecna approaches and calls your name.
No matter where you run it's no use because he will find you, even as you try desperately to move the boards blocking off the door you know it's no use.
Still, every instinct in you compels you to fight, to escape.
Vines snake their way up your jeans and tighten around your skin before you can stop it.
They wrap around your legs and your arms to keep you in place.
Vecna walks slowly towards you, and your heart pounds in your chest.
"It's time for me to show you who I am. What is coming. You can't escape it. Victory will be mine" his fingers latch onto your face and visions flash through your mind.
Vecna was Henry , Victor Creels, son, he was the cause of the physiological torture of his family, of his mother and sisters deaths.
Brenner found Henry at the hospital when the power overwhelmed him, fabricating that Henry died in a coma when in reality he became Brenners first test subject.
001
Then there's flashes of things, all of it leading up to a fight of powers between El and 001 after he murdered all the others like El, the doctors and scientists.
El refusing to join him to rid the world of mankind.
Then she sees how he became Vecna, how he first ended up in The Upside Down, his hatred for humans, thirst for revenge palpable.
Then the vision changes.
Death, screaming, blood everywhere. The bodies of your parents, of Robin and Steve lay dead as monsters ravage Hawkins.
This is Vecna's endgame. To open the gates between Hawkins and The Upside Down for good. To unleash hell.
Steves voice is calling to you. You hear it barely at first but it grows stronger.
I love you.
It must be a trick, a torture method of Vecna's because you know that isn't true. Steve doesn't love you.
At that moment the thrall you are under breaks and you are back in The Upside Down with Steve gasping for breath and shaking from what you have seen.
❤️
At the very second you were under Vecna's curse in The Upside Down, Steve had gestured for you to go next to climb the rope and get out of the hell scape you were in but when you don't respond he turns to you in confusion.
Your eyes are rolling to the back of your head, your body twitching and it feels like there is ice in his veins as realises that Vecna has invaded your mind.
The curse. Pure fear shoots through him and he swears his heart almost stops and he rushes to you, shaking you and shouting your name.
Confused voices echo from above as he sees Dustin, Nancy and Eddie peer down at you and him in worry.
"Get tapes, anything you can! Now!" he yells at them as he begs you to snap out of the trance.
"Please, please sweetheart"
Were you going to die? The thought of your body broken, limbs bent in unnatural angles, just gone... almost breaks him.
The thought of not seeing you smile, hearing you giggle at his lame jokes or curling up beside him, head rested on his chest terrifies him.
"Baby, please. Can you hear me?" he begs but it's like talking to a brick wall. You don't respond just stay under the trance and Steve just for a few seconds feels numb with agony.
Quickly he snaps out of it. No, he will reach you and you'll be fine he tells himself even when it feels like he can't breathe and dread and panic clouds his mind.
He can hear the faint sounds from up in Eddie's trailer and he shouts for the others to hurry.
There has to be something in the Munson trailer to use, some tape that Munson has that possibly includes your favourite song.
As he thinks of this he knows it's a long shot because your musical tastes and Eddie's were worlds apart.
You sang along to Blondie or Madonna, danced around your room to Duran Duran and The Beatles, tapes of Journey, AC/DC, would Munson have something of them?
He knows your favourite song though, it comes to him as he remembers you singing it in his car when he picked you and Robin up one day.
Crazy for you- Madonna. Frantically he shouts to the others to find the tape with Crazy for You on it, even though he knows deep down Munson won't have anything like it.
Time is running out and he's desperate, begs you to wake.
"I can't lose you, sweetheart. Come back to me please come back to me"
It's then he realized something that he's known deep down for a while and yet never fully accepted until now.
Nancy and him could never work, not again. They were too different, yeah they needed to clear the air between them, many things were left unresolved but there was no going back.
He didn't want Nancy back because he had moved on. Over the last few months, he had slowly fallen in love with you.
It was you who he wanted to be with. It was you who he loved.
"I love you, sweetheart, come back to me. I love you" he calls to you.
He startles as you come out of your trance and he catches you before you drop to the ground.
Relief floods through him and he cradles you to his chest. Did you hear his confession? What had happened when you were under Vecna's spell?
"Steve" you choke out as tears run down your cheek and he wipes them away tenderly.
"I'm here honey, I'm here"
❤️
Somehow Steve had managed to get you and him out of the Upside Down and when you woke up to Nancy and Max kneeling next to you the vision Vecna showed you comes to the forefront.
"What happened?" Nancy asks kindly and you recall everything that occurred, leaving nothing out.
Everything Vecna showed you. Including the vision that would haunt your dreams.
"All I could see was death everywhere, cracks along Hawkins splitting the town in half, monsters and darkness and my parents were dead... Robin and... Steve" he is at you at once and his hand entwines with yours.
"It was what would happen if Vecna won, if Max died and the gates opened. Hell would follow, death. We can't let that happen" you say and your voice goes stronger, fiercer.
It was time to save Hawkins, save Max and avenge Chrissy, Jordan and Freddies death.
❤️
A few days had passed since Vecna's defeat, The Upside Down being gone for good.
Eddie was recovering in hospital, Hopper miraculously back from the dead had taken on the role of sheriff and cleared Eddie of any involvement in Chrissy, Jordan and Freddie's deaths.
Max was recovering in hospital as well, she almost didn't make it when she was under Vecna's curse but somehow, by some miracle El's powers had come back and even in California she helped Max.
All of you banded together to weaken Vecna but El delivered the killing blow that destroyed the mind flyer and The Upside for good.
Now she was back along with Hopper, Joyce, Murray, Jonathan and Will.
Also, their friend Argyle who you liked immediately, the guy knew how to chill out.
There's a light tapping on your window and you peer up and giggle at what you see.
Steve was perched outside your window, flowers in hand and you smile as you open the window and let him inside.
"You could just use the front door you know" he shrugs, looking nervous.
"Where's the fun in that? He jokes and sits down, I spoke to Nancy, was long overdue. Cleared up some things"
Was he here to tell you he was back together with Nancy? You want so desperately to tell him you love him but what would be the point?
It would just add to his confusion, make him feel guilty he didn't return your feelings and you didn't want that.
His expression is tender and he stares down at you.
"Are you and Nancy together again?" you blurt out and he softens and shakes his head.
"No honey we aren't" This wasn't what you expected to hear.
"I don't understand. You still love her?" he settles beside you on the bed.
"We talked a lot. Both of us realised we would never work. I don't love Nancy, she's the past sweetheart. We both agreed that"
He hands you the flowers and something akin to hope blooms in your chest.
"I didn't see any of this coming you know? Getting to know you better, us being together. I didn't expect to fall in love with you but I did"
He loved you. What you heard wasn't a trick. He truly loved you.
"When I thought I was going to lose you I told you, I don't know if you even heard me" he murmurs and you take his hands on yours feeling giddy.
"I heard. Shit, I thought it was some torture trick from Vecna and all along it really was you?" his lips press to your forehead.
"I'm sorry it took so long for me to realise sweetheart, sorry you thought I still loved Nancy when it's you I want, only you sweetheart"
Gently you touch his cheek, wincing as you gaze at the scar around his throat, the scar made by the Demobats tail.
"Does it still hurt?" you ask worriedly and he nods as you press a tender kiss near it.
"Sometimes, not now though" his arms wrap around you and he pulls you onto his knee.
"I love you, Steve, so much. I've been wanting to tell you for so long" he smiles as his head rests on top of yours.
"How about a date tomorrow? A chance to spoil my girl, dinner and a movie?" you agree to this and the joy in the air is palpable, you would discuss paying half for the date tomorrow even if Steve would argue against it.
For now, you just let the glow of happiness fill you.
"It's a date"

ROUND 1C, MATCH 1 OUT OF 8!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cause of Death & Propaganda Under the Cut:
Allison Argent
Cause of Death: Stabbed by a demon
Propaganda:
She's so cool! She fights with a bow and arrow, she has complicated feelings on her werewolf boyfriend and is allowed to work through that, she's best friends with another girl who's also a banshee (should've dated her) and one of her first scenes is her hitting a dog with her car and bringing it to a vet(she's a mess! She's caring)
she was the protag's girlfriend and only died because the actress had to leave the show. it left a hole in the show that they never really managed to fill, and she is only really brought up to say "let's do this, it's what allison would tell us to do" or "I wish she was here." her father stays on the show and helps them in her memory but he and the protag suffer and learn from it the way most male characters in this trope do. she is brought back to life in the movie but it was mostly an excuse to get the cast back together again and took place years after the show finished. I don't really feel that it counts since she died in season 3 and the show had 6 seasons.
Jenny Calendar
Cause of Death: Neck snapped
Propaganda:
Jenny is so beloved to me. She was sent to Sunnydale, California to watch over the vampire that killed her family (Angel), told that he was supposed to suffer for all eternity, but after he saved her life + after she spent some time with him and the people who cared about him, she realized that she'd changed her mind and didn't want anything to do with continuing a mission of vengeance -- especially since Angel's girlfriend Buffy was also the mentee/surrogate daughter of Jenny's boyfriend Giles! Messy! Despite this, when Angel lost his soul and it came out that Jenny had been sent there to watch him, Jenny was immediately blamed, even though she'd had no idea that Angel would turn evil and TOLD everyone as much! She decided to try and find a way to resurrect old magic and give Angel his soul back, and Angel killed her in retaliation. Parts of the fandom talk about Jenny's death like it was necessary/a good thing/a good writing choice, but I don't think it was. Jenny's death is talked about by the showrunners as "proving that anyone could die," and her dead body was placed in Giles's bed, surrounded by red roses, subsequently inspiring him to try to go on a suicide mission and kill Angel. When the kids are looking at a drawing of her dead body, one of them says, "Wow. Poor Giles." Her death is very clearly engineered to raise the stakes by emphasizing how sad it is for Giles to lose her, and before her death, nearly all of her scenes centered around being Giles's girlfriend/love interest. She was never given a chance to develop as a character, and the only backstory they gave her was designed to push her towards death.
Amber Volakis
Cause of Death: Organ failure after bus crash
Propaganda:
This show likes to introduce new casts of supporting characters and cycle through old ones (some of them leave, some of them stay in reduced roles, and sometimes they come back into a main role later, but sometimes they don't) and I do like that. Amber was probably one of the best ones introduced in the row of new characters in Season 4 and even stayed interesting after being fired. I wasn't a big fan of her dating Wilson but it wasn't the worst thing. And then she was killed off. And her death basically only existed to make Wilson sad, or House sad and "crazy", and just. I don't know. It sucked that her death even happened when she had so much more potential as a living character!

I initially lost a version of this blog to my own forgetfulness but I still really want to talk about this. And by this I mean Mamoru's identity struggle. And even more specifically,
Why remembering the Silver Millenium and The Golden Kingdom is so damn important to Mamoru Chiba.
And when I say important, I do not mean plot wise. I mean it is- but I'm referring to Mamoru's emotional need to know who he is.
Aight so first off, a disclaimer. I am not saying The awakening of Usagi as Princess Serenity is any less important... story wise. But it is less important as far as whether Usagi emotionally needed to remember. Don't get me wrong I will die on the hill that Serenity and Endymion/Usagi Tsukino and Mamoru Chiba are equals in every way in the story of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. But like the point of this blog is to show what remembering their past life meant for Usagi vs what it meant to Mamoru. But also total transparency here, Mamoru is my favorite character. So I'm about to write a potentially long-ass analysis on him. You were warned. Enjoy!
Ohhhh that's how you add a cut
So all that said;
Usagi starts off having had a very very normal, mundane life. She's got her parents, she's the older sister of a little brother always ready to pick on her for some good old sibling rivalry. She's got her friends Naru, those two girls that I was gonna flex knowing the names of but realized I don't actually remember. She's got Motoki Furuhata, a cute older guy that is eye candy as she plays games at her favorite arcade. She's going to school and fairing all right all things considered lol.
In Act 1, up until she meets the mysterious Luna a talking cat, Usagi has no reason to question her life. Like at all. But then not only does she encounter this cat, but she bumps into this guy for the first time and it's a mix of "Oh my God he's already the biggest jerk and why is he wearing a Tuxedo in the middle of the street at 2 in the afternoon? What a fricken weirdo??" And "why is my heart pounding out of my chest just from meeting him???" Which is only where she starts to question things. Oh and then obviously she receives the mission from Luna to become Sailor Moon.
Contrary to, Mamoru Chiba. This poor kid (and yes he is still a kid) has had anything but a normal life. His earliest memory is waking up in a hospital bed, on his 6th birthday, being told he was in a car accident and that his parents didn't survive. He had no memory of anything in his life prior, (I wonder if he even recognizes his parents in any photos he had) He literally had to be told what his name was. He ended up God knows where for almost 10 years (up to reader speculation because Naoko doesn't tell us and ooh people write fanfiction on this!) Be starts living alone in an apartment and as far as we've seen he has no friends and doesn't seek any out. But the good thing is he's a really really gifted kid, he's crazy intelligent and he's the perfect scholar. So he's able to get into one of the most elite schools in the country so he can have trajectory in his life.
But the thing is, Mamoru doesn't even know if he really is "Mamoru Chiba" he doesn't have any connection to that name. He can't even call it his identity. And he's had the same dream every night for all those years. The faceless figure of a beautiful woman who he can feel is important and she only leaves him with a single cryptic phrase every. Single. Night.
"Please, find the Legendary Silver Crystal"
and for a lot of those years all it does is haunt him and maybe comfort him at the same time. Until he reaches the age of 16. And Mamoru, for reasons he doesn't quite know himself, begins searching each place he can every night for this Silver Crystal, wearing attire that makes him look like a Gentleman Theif. Desperate to find what he has deemed the only way he will know who he really is, he commits crimes breaking into shops. Obviously he never steals anything because he is only after one thing and he'll know it when he sees it. When he's not moonlighting as a potential Crystal napper his nose is stuck inside books. Stacks of books about minerals. Researching anything that could lead him to that fricken Crystal.
And then one afternoon he goes to investigate a certain Jewelry store wearing his Tuxedo and a super cool pair of sunglasses. Only to be hit in the face with a wadded up sheet of paper. And encounters a loud, crybaby who apparently has impressively bad test scores. When he meets her his heart starts to race and then the racing calms while she turns away. He's got no clue what just happened but hey this store might have the crystal he's looking for!
So that same night he sneaks inside that shop, and unbeknownst to him there's a teenage girl fighting a monster woman and struggling... a lot. He sticks around to see the show and (I will actually be including 90s Mamo in this blog because he's part of the reason I returned to writing it in the first place) in the 90s anime he actively intervenes and throws his signature rose dart to assist her. After some time and prompting from some voice he doesn't know the origin of, this teenage girl who has just introduced herself as Sailor Moon impresses Mamoru. And she continues to impress him.
So let's talk about 90s real quick in one go.
SOS 90s Mamoru is not in control of when he transforms into Tuxedo Mask. Its like he becomes someone else. We do learn that Tuxedo Mask's transformation is triggered by the one of Sailor Moon. However, he's still had that dream every night. And eventually Mamoru becomes conscious of his alter ego and becomes more active in searching for the Silver Crystal. Even telling Sailor Moon that if it comes to it he will steal the Rainbow Crystals from her in order to obtain the Silver Crystal. He's also already falling for Sailor Moon at this point, and prior we were told that his blood tells him to protect her. He's drawn to her and he's certain its because they knew each other in a previous life. I have no clue how he could come to that conclusion with so little evidence but hey at least he's more aware than others.
So at this point its pretty dang obvious that Mamoru is desperate for any clue to his identity. When the time comes, and he (90s) does remember his past life as Mamoru, its like a weight is lifted off of him. He accepts it so readily.
Usagi... doesn't. Returning to her side. In 90s Usagi barely wants to be a Senshi and she isn't completely sold on Mamoru yet either. It takes the returning of her memories to accept him as Tuxedo Mask and Endymion. This is all so hard for her to accept, that she's a princess, that the love of her life was just taken from her in the same moment that she remembered him, that it is her duty to defeat the Dark Kingdom, its all too much that she definitely doesn't want to be part of. Because for her its like awakening as the Princess meant she was losing herself. Like this past life identity was overtaking her present one. She never asked to be Sailor Moon and she certainly didn't sign up for being a Princess destined to defeat some "dark kingdom". She's having more trouble accepting the "I'm a princess and its my duty as a senshi to fight evil" part than the "the love of my life was just taken away from me" part. Because really, what was missing in her life up until now? Why would she want to be anything more than the girl she is, living the life she's been living?
So back to Mamoru, it is no coincidence that when he is taken by the Dark Kingdom he goes by Dark Prince Endymion. Because the name Mamoru meant nothing to him before and it certainly doesn't mean anything now. He is Prince Endymion. This is who he always was. It isn't until he's reminded of his time with Usagi/Sailor Moon in her plea for him to return to her that he can accept both identities.
But. Then. He dies. And completely out of his control, he's reborn in the life he had before he regained his memories. He never became Tuxedo Mask, he hadn't met Sailor Moon but yet he still already encountered Usagi a while ago??? (I'm gonna be honest I have no idea how that plot makes sense for anyone but Usagi lol) But anyway, the wish Usagi made kiiiiiida took away Mamoru's identity. Was he even having dreams? Did he even have his memories of his parents? Where did his struggle with his identity go? When you think about how desperately important remembering that he was Endymion was to Mamoru, its so hard to imagine that he would have wanted to forget everything again. I mean his soul even refused to be apart from her. Literally. The embodiment of his desire to protect her, showed up in place of Tuxedo Mask. I think if he were given the chance to properly reunite with her as things were instead of letting Usagi make a wish to live normally but be separated a third time, He would have gladly taken it. Also shout out to @tiny012 for bringing this up in one of their blogs which is what reminded me I wanted to return to the topic 👍
Alright so let's circle back to how the manga handles this:
Manga Mamoru is quicker to piece things together, and because of this, the progression leading to his and Usagi's memories returning is much faster pace. First off. Man figures out Usagi Tsukino is Sailor Moon in Act 3. Because she transforms right in front of him lol. Second, man is hopelessly in love with Usagi by Act 4. Thirdly, he himself puts the events in motion to reveal his secret identity, his goals, and his apartment (haha I'm so funny) to Usagi in act 7. By the end of act 7 the two are very much in love on a mutual level. They do not recall the Silver Millenium yet. When they do recall their memories, it isn't a shock to either of them. Let me repeat that. Its not shocking. Its not like 90s Usagi who only barely came to terms that this "jerk" was also her beloved Tuxedo Mask who just took a knife to the back for her, and was ALSO a man she considered her lover in a past life. No no no.
When M and U regain their memories in the manga, everything becomes clear to them. Because it explains why they were already so in love. Because it means they found each other again just like they wished and promised they would. I mean the words they say to each other in Act 9 say it all.
"Endymion..? Oh... that's... my name! Of course, I was reborn into this life as Mamoru Chiba. I came back all so I could be with you again. I found you... Serenity, my love"
"I remember you, Endymion my one true love.... We finally found each other again. Is this fate? I never told you anything about myself! I never told you my true feelings! Tuxedo Mask!"
(Paraphrased from both manga and Crystal dub)
Let me draw attention to the difference in these lines.
Usagi's realization is one in which her sole focus is Mamoru. The beautiful man she loves that she'd give anything to be with. She remembers that he's also Endymion. But to her current self, he's first and foremost Tuxedo Mask. Tuxedo Mask/Mamo-chan is who she fell in love with in this life as Usagi. And she's desperate for him to awaken so she can share this life with him.
Mamoru has just found the final piece to the puzzle he couldn't complete since he was a child. "Oh, That's my name!" It is the moment of self discovery that's he's been searching for all this time. And he found it in the girl he fell for not just in this lifetime but also his last and his last words are of relief that he finally found his princess again.
During the time that the two are separated, Usagi goes through physical changes. And its stated that because of her awakening she's becoming more like the princess. But she doesn't want that. She feels like the more she remembers about being the princess the less she becomes herself. All Usagi ever wanted was to be happy with Mamoru. She only ever wanted to be a normal girl but ever since becoming Sailor Moon she's been questioning which is her true self. As far as she's concerned, she is just Usagi and he's just Mamoru and she wants to be with him.
When they are reunited, things change specifically for Mamoru. He develops powers he did not have before, he regained his incredible powers to connect deeply with the Earth his beloved planet. He becomes much less introverted, even spends time with his underclassmen at school and confidently encourages aspiring students to attend.
So before this gets any longer than it is already my point to this blog is this:
Usagi doesn't fully accept being Princess Serenity outside of her love for Endymion because she already had a separate identity before awakening. She didn't need nor want a different life. When she remembered the time of the Silver Millenium, it changed everything Usagi thought she knew about herself.
Mamoru feels relief and gratitude for remembering the time of the Silver Millenium because he had nothing for so so long. The search for who he was, the mysterious girl who had appeared in his dreams for 10 years, he had all the answers now. And what's more, those answers lead him to the love of his life.
(I'd go into the Golden Kingdom side but its 2am and I gotta force myself out of bed really early tomorrow. Plus this is already a chore to scroll through LOL)
So ye if you read this far, you either really love Mamoru (and Usagi because this is technically an analysis on both of them lol) or you were bored and avoiding sleep by whatever means nessacary (same though) but seriously if you did read all that nonsense I love you thank you so much 😭
Also to anyone who wants to do more analysis and show me up in a spectacular way in the reblogs, you are more than welcome to in fact please do lol

Thoughts on The Bad Batch Episode 6 - Infiltration - A Discussion Post
This week's two episodes really took us through another rollercoaster. Let's look back on all the details that got us excited!
(SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE EPISODES YET! all screencaps from cap-that.com! https://www.cap-that.com/starwars/the-bad-batch/306/)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rex makes his return by delivering Senator Avi Singh and his droid GS-8 to Senator Riyo Chuchi on Pantora, who continues to recruit people for fighting against the Empire. I was surprised to see Senator Singh again; every episode that's happened in the series really had a good purpose for the story.
Howzer also appeared, and I'm so happy he's back!
Tumblr media
One of the Clone X troopers had appeared, sneaking around and attempting to attack the senators. Rex and the others try to attack the trooper, and Howzer manages to stun him. The trooper ends up being another unidentified clone, and the boys take him into custody.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We arrive at the monastery on Teth, which had first appeared in the Clone Wars movie. Rex and the other clones have built themselves a base here, where they are safe and far away from the Empire.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rex and Howzer go to see the CX trooper they took into custody, as they had the shocker removed from their teeth, learning from the scenario that happened last season. Rex tries to reason with the trooper, who refuses to talk.
Fireball had looked through the device that they found with the CX trooper, and Omega was shown on that device. Rex decides to contact Echo and Hunter, calling them here to talk to them about the situation. Everyone's after the poor girl, and none of the clones are able to catch a break.
Tumblr media
The CX trooper that we've all got our eyes glued to appears once again on-screen, asking "Why have I been activated?" We finally get to hear this trooper talk, and his voice is very hidden by the helmet. He is given a mission to track down the CX trooper that went missing, and we go on to pay close attention to him throughout the episodes. When I tell you my heart was racing every time he appeared on screen, I was really trying to think hard and connect the dots. I'm a Tech believer, but with the new theories emerging on this trooper potentially being other clones as well, every theory is so intriguing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While on the way to Rex's base, Omega copying Crosshair was the cutest thing ever. She went from copying Hunter in Season 1, copying Phee in Season 2, and now this in Season 3. (Hunter's definitely having flashbacks.) Girl's growing up too fast for me 😭
Tumblr media
Can we just take a second and look at Wrecker's smile here? It was so heartwarming to see him smile like this while he was petting Batcher. He's so cute.
Tumblr media
The crew arrives, and Howzer keeps his eyes locked on Crosshair. The little nod Rex and Omega shared was so adorable. Howzer speaks up to talk to Crosshair, who stays silent. He reminds him of Ryloth and what happened, and he has good reason to be upset.
Not gonna lie, I was expecting Rex to look at Batcher and be like when did y'all get a dog 🤨
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before leaving to go pick up Gregor (wherever he is), Echo gives Omega a new crossbow, replacing the Zygerrian crossbow she used to have before being taken to Tantiss. I still wonder what happened to that weapon, it was just completely lost. Omega loves her new gift and thanks Echo, and I can't wait to see her use it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rex and Howzer show Hunter and Crosshair the information they got so far from the device they obtained from the CX trooper they have, and Crosshair starts to open up about what he went through on Tantiss, talking about Hemlock's conditioning. Howzer continues to suspect anything Crosshair says, and Hunter gets protective for his brother. The boys decide to ask Omega about why they wanted her on Tantiss, and she says that it was so Nala Se could work for them.
I feel like I could tell that Omega does not want to talk about anything she went through on Tantiss and whatever she experienced. She looks so hurt at times ever since she became reunited with her family, and she wasn't even eating in this episode. She always keeps giving Batcher her food. Omega mentions "M-count", which Rex has heard of before, but doesn't know what it means. I wonder when they'll learn what it means and how they'll try to figure out why Omega is needed for this.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, the CX trooper sent from Tantiss had arrived on Teth and located the clones' base, and had snuck in without ANYONE noticing. Batcher's senses felt something was around, but she shrugged it off and continued eating. Not even Hunter's enhanced senses had felt something was around. I felt like maybe these troopers were designed to avoid those kinds of things, and maybe Hemlock learned about Hunter's abilities and attempted to avoid them.
Anyway, he looks around and spots Omega, immediately running out and contacting someone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Crosshair found out they have one of the CX troopers in custody, he goes with Rex, Howzer, and Hunter to see him. The second he lays eyes on the trooper, there is genuine fear in his eyes. What did he go through on Tantiss?
The CX trooper recognizes Crosshair and begins to talk, and knows the Empire is coming for them. Crosshair insists they leave, while the others keep wanting information, and Howzer gets more suspicious.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Right outside, the bombs CX-2 planted around the base are set off, triggering multiple explosions. He re-enters the base, firing shots, as everyone hurries to protect the base. The trooper manages to shoot the CX trooper they have in custody, making them unable to get further information. The fight continues until the base is wrecked, causing the CX trooper to be crushed under rubble, and the others get locked in the place they kept the trooper in custody after the rubble blocks their way out.
RIP to Fireball 😭
Tumblr media
Wolffe finally makes his appearance! He continues to be a soldier of the Empire, but he definitely is no longer under the influence of the chip. The episode ends here, and I was screaming the entire time Wolffe appeared. Someone go summon the force ghost of Plo Koon so he can knock some sense into his son.
This episode was full of context, but there's still so much mystery behind everything. The next episode was full of even more action, and I had my eyes glued to the screen.

Satoru Pays Attention This Time
Satosugu, Fix-It
What if Satoru was there for all the moments when Suguru needed him most?
----
Suguru is sitting with Haibara in the hall in front of the vending machines when she walks in.
“Hey! You with the hair… Are you Geto? I was wondering what kind of women you go for?” She struck a pose.
Suddenly, Suguru was even more tired than he had been before. He could just tell just by looking at her that this conversation would end up being really draining.
“Who are you?” He said, instead of answering the woman directly.
“I like the type of girls that eat a lot.” Haibara said, with his typical uncensored enthusiasm.
“Oh?” She said, with minimal interest.
“Haibara.” Suguru could only manage, at his junior’s naive audacity. It made him feel that much older and ten times more exhausted.
“Don’t worry about her, Geto. She’s not a bad person. I can tell, I’m a great judge of character.” Haibara said, confidently.
“I always kind of thought you were stupid, Haibara...” Everyone looked around as Satoru walked up to the group. “...but now it’s confirmed.” Satoru grinned, looking right at Suguru.
They hadn't seen each other in a while. All the curses rattling around inside Suguru, in his gut, making him nauseous, keeping him up at night, seemed to settle down as he and Satoru made eye-contact.
“Satoru.” Suguru said, just to say his name, “You’re being rude.”
Satoru walked right past the strange woman and sat between Suguru and Haibara on the bench, spreading his legs annoyingly wide so that his knee pressed against Suguru’s. He put his arm around Suguru on the bench top behind him.
More wild and cruel things settled in Suguru’s chest.
“That’s okay, Geto. Gojo’s not a bad person either, y’know?” Haibara said, enthusiastic smile still firmly on his face.
Poor, sweet, Haibara. A child born of summer and watching too much Power Rangers. Suguru bit back the impulse to shake his head pityingly and simply say “Haibara” again.
He and Satoru exchanged a look.
Suguru bumped his own knee against Satoru’s.
Be nice.
Satoru grinned at him smug like a well-fed cat.
“Well, I guess I’m out of here!” Haibara said, jumping up suddenly. “I’ve got to go meet up with Kento for our next mission. Don’t want to be late!”
Before anyone could get out so much as a, “goodbye,” he was around the corner and out of sight. “He’s annoying.” Satoru said, but his smile was kind, “And so much energy. How does he do it? Hey, Suguru, were we that annoying when we were his age?” He leaned into him as he said it, pushing his face close to Suguru’s, like he was trying to monopolize his view.
For a moment, Suguru was lost in thought. They had been that boyish at one time. What a difference a year could make.
“So,” the woman cut in, “Do you plan on answering my original question?” She said, smiling directly at Suguru.
“What question?” Satoru asked, butting in.
“Not until you answer my question first.” Suguru said.
“Suguruuuu what question?” Satoru said, poking Suguru’s arm, and then his cheek when Suguru ignored him.
“Who are you?” He asked her, continuing to ignore Satoru as he started a barrage of pokes, with both hands now.
“Don’t ignore me, Suguruuuu.”
“Special Grade Sorcerer Yuki Tsukumo.” She said, striking another pose. “Does that name ring any bells?”
“Suguruuu. Suguru. Suguru. Su-gu-ru.”
Poke. Poke. Pokepokepokepokepoke.
“Wait, so you’re her?” Suguru said.
That got Satoru’s attention.
“Oh, I like the sound of that.” She said, beaming. “What have you heard?” She purred.
Satoru had finally stopped poking Suguru and was staring at the side of his face instead as if he too was waiting, rapt, for Suguru’s answer. His stupid laser-beam eyes burning a hole in his cheek.
“That you’re a special grade who never accepts any missions.” Suguru said, bluntly.
“Yea,” Satoru cut in, with relish, turning his stare on Tsukumo, “A real good-for-nothing. Who I heard has been wasting her time abroad.” He said, smiling his most angelic smile at her.
Suguru couldn’t understand why he seemed to dislike her so much. Maybe they had history Suguru didn’t know about?
“Man. I really hate Jujutsu High School.” She said, slumping suddenly. Clearly pouting.
Suguru and Satoru exchanged another look.
“I’m joking. Though it is true that I don’t get along with Jujutsu High’s policies.” She said, coming out of her slouch. Her tone suddenly more serious.
That caught Suguru’s attention.
“All they’re interested in is treating the symptoms of a problem.” She continued. “And I want to do something to treat the cause.”
“You… want to treat the cause?” Suguru asked.
Satoru was looking back and forth between Suguru and Tsukumo now. Probably annoyed they weren’t paying any attention to him.
“Right. Except rather than hunting cursed spirits, I want to create a world where they don’t get born in the first place.”
“I love cutting off my own nose to spite my face.” Satoru said, turning to Tsukumo with a smile fixed in its dulcet acidity. “Except I would never do that, because I’m not stupid, and also because I have a perfect nose. Don’t I, Suguru?” He turned again and started pushing his way into Suguru’s line of vision again, trying to get him to make eye contact, but Suguru wasn’t really paying attention.
He leaned forward. Yuki Tsukumo had his full attention now.
“Would you care to learn a little lesson?” She said, quirking her eyebrow like a challenge, once again looking directly at Suguru.
“Uhg. Boooooring.” Satoru said, drawing out the word obnoxiously.
“Hush.” Suguru said, cupping one hand behind Satoru’s neck and the other over his mouth.
Satoru licked his hand.
“Satoru, that’s disgusting. He said, mildly, “Where are your manners in front of our guest?” Then pushed his hand harder into Satoru’s face, attempting to smother him.
Satoru flailed accordingly.
A brief scuffle ensued.
“I can see you’re busy.” Tsukumo actually seemed a little irritated now. She didn’t have the same tolerance for the Satoru Gojo Effect as most people on campus. You had to build it up slowly. Like resistance to poison. “Maybe we can talk more about my research some other time, Geto?”
“Like that’s going to happen.” Satoru said, finally managing to pull Suguru’s hand away from his mouth.
A shame. His face had been turning the most lovely shade of purple, Suguru thought.
He turned back to Tsukumo then, not really feeling apologetic for their behavior at all.
“Yes. I’d like that.” He managed, giving her a charming smile.
Satoru made a noise like cats fighting.
“Maybe next time we can discuss things more privately.” Suguru could see Satoru’s hackles raising, inexplicably, from the corner of his eye. “And hey, maybe next time you’ll tell me what kind of women you go for.” She said, as she walked away, with a wink over her shoulder in Suguru’s direction. She did not, Suguru noticed, say “goodbye” to Satoru.
“Blehhh.” Satoru stuck his tongue out and pulled the skin on his cheeks to make a ghoulish face at her back as she too disappeared around the same corner Haibara had earlier.
“Jeez, what a weirdo.” Satoru said casually, like he hadn't acted like a feral cat the entire time they had been talking. He leaned back, crossing his leg over his knee and placing his arm back on the bench behind Suguru's back.
It would be weird if Suguru leaned into it a little, right? He did it anyway.
They both sat there, not looking at each other, staring down the hallway instead.
“Did you know her?” Suguru asked. He was genuinely curious.
“Never met her in my life. In fact, I still haven't met her. I refuse to have met her. Who are we talking about again?" Satoru said, in a rush.
Suguru pressed his fingers into the space between his eyes, which was sometimes the only correct response to anything Satoru said or did.
Also, he was still extremely exhausted.
"Besides,” Satoru said, finally becoming a little more serious, “you know what she was talking about, right? Genocide.”
Suguru froze.
There it was, really. Laid out plainly in the space between them.
“C’mon. Have you had dinner yet? I’ll take you out to eat and point out all the many many reasons why Yuki Tsukumo is wrong. And why I’m always right.” Satoru said.
Treating it like a game, a philosophical argument. Not like Tsukumo and by extension, Suguru, was entertaining mass genocide as any kind of viable solution.
Which, Suguru wasn’t, not really….

flower crowns
Sabo, you do know we are on a mission, right?” the brown hair girl questioned as she stared down at him on the ground. “Come on, don’t be that way, Koala. Just sit down and have fun!”. He said with a giant smile crossing his lips, staring up at her from his spot amongst the blue and orange flowers under his body.
Her brown brows furrowed as she crossed her arms.“We have work to do, that’s the whole reason we are out here in the first place,” she said, sounding exasperated with the man. She leaned down closer to their faces, so close to each other yet so far away.
“Come on Sabo, we do not have time for this–” she tried to say, only to let out a loud “OOF” as Sabo grabbed her wrist, yanking her right into his lap, his arms around her waist and his chin on her shoulder.
“Don’t be like that, mh? Maybe you're jealous that I'm paying attention to the flowers more than you?” She sat there wide-eyed, feeling the back of her neck and her ears growing hot as the blush dusted across her cheeks. He put a finger to his lips “You know, what if we made flower crowns? I know you have always wanted to make one. Could it be our thing?” he suggested with that dumb cheerful voice of his.
Koala let out a sigh of defeat: she knew she had to admit she lost the game with that stubborn man. “Fine. But we can’t stay here too long, you know”. She said, turning around and pinching his round cheeks. “Uh-huh, you say so, but you had made no move to get out of my lap,” he teased the poor brown-haired woman.
He moved his large hands and placed a bunch of orange butterfly weeds and a bundle of blue bluebells in her much smaller and cute hand “Let’s use these, Koala!” He suggested to her before her brown eyes glanced down at the bundle. “ Hey Sabo, do you know what these flowers mean?” she asked him, her face feeling hot. She knew that Sabo knew those flowers and what they meant, but so did she.
“Nope, not a clue. Why don’t you tell me?” He asked in a light but teasing manner, the same he always does when he already knows the answer to the question he asked.
Part of her was certain that he just liked to hear her talk. She let out a heavy sigh, tilting her head back to look up at him from her position.
“Butterfly weeds are supposed to represent joy, while it is said that Bluebells are the flowers of undying love”. She could hardly get out with how much she was stammering from her own embarrassment, it was just a coincidence that these were the flowers he had grabbed.
He queried with a blonde brow “Oh really? Had no idea but I think it fits us. Butterfly weed makes me think of you, it almost matches your hair,” He said as he took a strand of her brown hair and brought it up to his lips, leaving a kiss on the lock between his fingers.
Koala stared up at him with wide eyes. Did he like her? Her brain could not wrap around the thought of the very idea that stubborn idiotic Sabo liked her the same way she loved him. It almost felt as if her heart was about to physically burst out of her chest at that exact moment. She could not handle another act like this or she would lose it or, even worse, do something embarrassing again (like the last time she had tried to confess to him, but she ended up telling him “Happy Monday”).
She was interrupted by her thoughts as she felt his finger pinching her cheek. “Earth to Koala, where did you go?” He cooed in her ear, only to jolt when she flung her arm in surprise and hit him on his cheek.
She sulked seeing the red mark on his face and waved her arms frantically “I am so so sorry Sabo, I swear it wasn’t on purpose! I must have spaced out and then you scared me so I just acted–“
Sabo let out a laugh before he grabbed her waving hands “Hey careful, you’ll mess up the flowers there. But if you’re really sorry then… how about kissing me?”
She and Sabo had locked eyes in complete silence for what felt like a solid hour before he puckered his lips.
“Come on, you hit me hard!” he baited, only to find himself blinking when she leaned forward and kissed him on the cheek.
Well, that really was his fault, wasn't it? He never directly said where she could kiss him. But she was so cute he just wanted to grab her face and kiss her. Sabo’s lips curled up into one of his sunshine smiles, but Koala could not raise her eyes to look up at him. She was almost glad she was sitting in his lap like this, mostly because it was harder to turn around and look at him.
“I thought we were making flower crowns?” “We are, I'm gonna show you how right now. You have your flowers, right?” Sabo placed his own flowers next to the ground beside him, his fingers brushing over the flowers in her hands. “First, we are going to braid the flowers like this,” he explained, showing her how to twist and braid the vines of the flowers together. Koala watched as her hands tried to copy his movements.
Sabo was really good at everything he did, sometimes it felt like everything came so easy to him. But what she did not know was that he forced Betty and Ivankov to teach him for months: there were times it almost felt like he would never be able to do it, he even went as far as to practice in his spare time on missions.
Koala let out a groan of frustration as another one of her vines tore and snapped the crown she was making. “This is not fair, how are you so good at this? I'm never gonna get this Sabo, this is the fourth time!” She said dejectedly as she hung her head down. Sabo could have sworn he saw little rain clouds floating over her. “Hey now, don’t be like that, you'll get it. I had to have others teach me. Here, just follow me once more, okay? It does not need to be perfect at all.” “...I guess you are right for once.”
He rolled his eyes despite the laugh that left his lips. He held her hands once more this time moving her fingers, helping her braid the vines. Koala’s brown eyes widened seeing how they weaved into the tight braids Sabo was showing her. After a couple of long moments, Sabo smiled widely “Ahah! There we go, all done”.
He held out the lovely flower crown gleaming under the sunlight: the lovely Bluebells and the orange butterfly weeds just made them seem all the more enchanting as he placed the crown on the top of her head.
He sucked in a sharp breath, his face glowing alight. She was beautiful, how had he really never noticed before was beyond him. His lower lip trembling “Sabo, are you okay? You’re shaking…” Koala asked with worry in those big doe brown eyes of hers.
“H-huh. Sorry, I got lost in my thoughts”, He said, his voice having a little edge of nervousness to it. She quirked a brow since when did Sabo get lost in his own head? He was the type to act first and think later more than often. “You big liar, what terrible scheme are you brewing now.” “Why do I have to be scheming anything?! Can’t I just enjoy spending time with my best friend?” He asked with a tone of amusement laced in his words.
Koala narrowed her eyes “That makes me trust you even less. Just spit it out, Sabo, it can’t be that bad.” Sure how was he supposed to blurt out that he finally saw her as a girl he had never really considered one? He was so sure she would freak out on him but, if he really had to pinpoint when this started, it would have to be on the last job they did together, where they had to pose as a married couple.
Sabo was never one to think of marriage, he really didn’t care about relationships nor did he have the time to partake. But with Koala, part of him wanting to see her in a pretty white dress… the idea became more and more stuck in his head.
He was pulled out of his fantasy by Koala pulling on his cheeks “Hey, I am talking to you! First, you drag me out here while we are working and now you're ignoring me. What is the matter with you ?!” “Let’s get married!” He blurted out, giving the poor woman whiplash from how fast she whipped her head around to face him. “WHAT?!” she exclaimed with wide-darting eyes, feeling like the wind was knocked right out of her chest. Her face resembled one of those ripe cherry tomatoes that they had growing on the base.
Sabo at this point just about was ready to surrender himself to the navy rather than deal with trying to come back from what he just said out loud. He rubbed the black of his golden locks “Ah, did I say that out loud?” He asked with the hope he really had not. “You did and you have not explained yourself!”
He gulped with a nervous expression as he could feel the sweat on his forehead. Well, crap, he would just have to bite the bullet, wouldn’t he?
Sabo turned his body so he was facing her before he grabbed her round face, which made her stare and let out a sound as he leaned closer. A sound of surprise, when his soft lips pressed on her own smaller ones.
Koala felt like the wind had knocked out of her body once more. She moved her hands, gripping his shoulders. The kiss felt so right and something out of a fairytale. Her body felt so light as if she was dreaming the whole thing up. If you had told her four days ago when she left with Sabo that he would have kissed her, she would obviously have laughed it off.
When he pulled away and the air came back to her lungs, she turned a scarlet color “S-Sabo! What was that?!” A cheeky smile crossed that handsome face of his “Well Koala, that was a kiss. I did not realize you didn't know what that was.” “ Now is not the time to get smart, Sabo,” she cried out with tears threatening to bubble up. There was no way Sabo really liked her, he was playing a cruel joke on her!
Upon seeing her tears, he jolted “H-hey, did you hate it that much?” “It’s cruel to play with a girl’s feelings, you know? You're being a jerk!” She said as the tears rolled down her round cheeks. Sabo moved his hands, his thumbs wiping her tears away “ I should have made myself clear Koala. I am not pulling a prank, I am in love with you. I have always been since we met.”
Koala kept getting whiplash at his words “W-what… Why, there are so many girls who are in love with you, Sabo. So tell me, why me?!” “Why you? Why not you Koala, I don’t want anyone but you.” Her lower lip trembled as she gulped “You really feel that way?” “Of course I do, haven't ever said anything I don't mean Koala. You are the most beautiful girl I know, inside and out.” “ Why have you never said anything until now?”
Sabo let out a laugh “I tried, but you kept misunderstanding me. Still, you haven't answered me either, do you like me?” She placed her hands over the top of his warm calloused ones. “I do…I love you, I thought you didn’t like me.” His blue eyes widened before he softened. “Then… After this job, let’s go on a date, mhm?” “Sounds like a plan, be on time for once.” “I wouldn't dream of being late.”

Please Don't Hate Me!
(Moon knight x Reincarnated teen Reader)
Marc Spector carries a lot of Secrets that more often than not get him into a world of trouble. Turns out his kid might have more than he does.
Poor Layla , she didn't sign up for this
In other words:
In a world where a person from our world reincarnates into moon knight and they Really, Really love their big family
Disclaimer: I do not own Moon Knight or the photos (I do edit the photos, but they are not mine)

Tumblr media
Ch 3: You're in Deep Shit Marc Spector
Warning: mentions of depression and someone passing out,
also Layla steals the show, good for her
———
Loud, constant clacking filled the dimming room as a woman with long, dark, curly hair sat at her desk typing away with a harsh, but determined look.
She was frustrated, royally pissed, but most of all, Layla was worried.
Her baby girl, yes hers.
Marc had left, leaving divorce papers a few weeks after his disappearance, sure they were unsigned, but she didn't care!
He. Left!
He has no right to say he cares!
He. Has. No. Fucking Right.
Marc Left.
And it tore her baby girl apart.
It tore her heart as well, but that she can handle.
She can be wounded, she can bleed till her last drop and she will still be able to move. It would be hard but she can get up and try again. It would take time and she would have to learn to trust again, but she could, would heal.
But watching her baby girl fall apart?
Literally fall apart, piece by piece?
That was the kicker.
The Final straw.
That was Marc stabbing her, them, in the back.
Layla had already lost her father, she can't help her wish to know how or why, but she could live.
She had met Marc, got married, and had a sweet baby girl. In a way she moved past her father's death.
She had a family of her own.
HAD!
Marc stole that from her!
Stole her new family! He ripped them apart viciously by leaving!
Of course she's livid!
Her sweet little baby girl nearly cried that first week that had gone by with absolutely no word from Marc.
At first, she thought he was on another one of Khonshu's missions. Sometimes they ran long. Normally it was no big deal. Sure, it was odd he hadn't said anything before leaving, but she understood how demanding that god could be. There were multiple talks and rants, the frustration with that topic alone could topple mountains.
So she had understood.
Key word, had.
Watching the frown appear on her daughters face when Layla said papa went on a trip was worrying, but not enough to draw Layla's attention.
Not yet, at the very least.
But when the week finished up and there were still no signs of Marc? Layla started to worry.
Worry that Marc was dead, long gone to a place neither could reach.
There is a saying that 'no news is good news'.
It's a Lie.
'No news' is Worse.
It's no wonder 'Hope' was in Pandora's box.
'No news' leaves you wondering what happened, how it happened, maybe even why. But you hold on to that hope, no matter how small. You pray nothing has gone wrong, every single day. You wait, holding your breath, 'One more day' you'll chant. 'I'll find out tomorrow' but when tomorrow comes? It's the exact same thing, making your worry and dread grow till eventually it slowly becomes a crushing weight. Hope, once an ally, has become the backstabber, the taunter, the solid boulder. It drives you crazy with 'what ifs'.
'No news' can mean so much more.
And it drags on in the most torturous of ways.
So when Marc didn't check in like normal, didn't warn her about the silence required on his mission, to keep them safe, she started to worry.
But their daughter, her little treasure who has fiercely loved her father for all these years, seemed to have noticed as well.
Layla never really knew just how much their baby girl paid attention to their comings and going. Honestly, she would have been impressed if those observations hadn't bothered her baby girl.
It had started small enough, a meal missed here, another skipped there. Her little girl sleeping in their bedroom, sometimes stealing some of Marc's shirts, the dirty shirts.
Layla didn't have the heart to scold her after the fourth time, not after that heartbreaking mumbled apology. She can't help but wonder where she learned those puppy dog eyes.
Not when Layla realized she hadn't seen her little girl in days.
Her child who would rather play outside with her father insread of watching a movie or play video games seemed to hide behind them now, almost obsessively. Layla's daughter Refusing to ride or even look at the swings, or anything that had to do with her activities with Marc. The tree he had caught her in was empty except for the leaves. The couch where she always slept on top of Marc now sat empty. The blanket now moved to the recliner. Touch no longer seemed to sooth her little girl.
The little hugger of the family just... seemed to ghost around the house.
The girl that would sing random songs while she baked family and friends treats, barely opened her mouth after the third week.
That finally snapped Layla out of it, enough to try ring Marc.
Good news, his phone went through.
Bad news, the asshole refused to pick up.
Oh, she didn't call him an asshole the first time she called, nor the second. But after the 54th call, 46 messages and 0 answers? Well, she naturally grew pissed.
Her messages started off sweet and worried, asking him when he'll be home, to, at the very least just let them know he's safe and that they miss him.
Then she started begging Marc to come home, their baby girl had passed out a d the doctor said it was from forgetting to eat.
That was the first and last time, for both her daughter and herself. Her baby girl now set timers to remember to eat and that message was the last time she begged Marc to come home.
He didn't care enough to come home, or he didn't care enough to listen. She didn't know which outcome was Marc's issue.
It didn't matter. He'd spectacularly burned that bridge.
At this point in time, it was more a matter of pride. She wanted to find Marc to drag answers out of that dick. And if he didn't have a good reason, even if he did, he would be toast. His answer would determine the level of burning she would do, if her daughter didn't do it first.
She could be quite vindictive when she felt it was necessary.
Layla was relieved when her baby came home from the sanctum one weekend with a massive smile on her face and an apology for worrying her mother on her lips. They had two long girls' day and spent those next two nights together.
Layla never asked what made her little treasure so happy. Too relieved that she had a better part of her daughter back.
Oh, her little girl was still sad, but not nearly to the extreme she was prior. Maybe she finally found a boyfriend at school or maybe she got a new friend. Layla had seen her little treasure wearing a small, thin red and gold bracelet with a small sapphire gem braided in as the master piece.
Layla hoped it was from a friend and not a lover. She didn't want to see her little girl that broken ever again.
If her father could cripple her, what would a lover do?
So Layla was relieved to see her daughter back on the swings, not as often as she had before, but it was enough.
So with one more thing settled, she could focus more on Marc.
And she was livid.
Harshly typing away on her keyboard, creating a long series of codes, a net of numbers.
Layla doesn't plan to leave anything to chance, all she needs is for Marc to pick up his phone one time. Even if he doesn't, this baby right here will slowly get closer each ring. A bit like the game Marco Polo treasure always made Marc play.
One way or another, she will get what she wants.
Fuck Marc's flightiness. She'll chase him to the end of the world if she has too. He owes them an explanation at the very least.
It's why she called her daughter back, in case they would have to go at a moments notice.
"Mama?"
With a few more key strokes Layla finishes and shouts over her shoulder, "In here, baby girl!"
There's a bit of shuffling before little treasure enters, "Could you hand me my cell, sweetheart?"
"Sure"
It takes no more than a moment, and with her daughters eyes following her, she connects her phone to her computer to start the download.
It's silent, and Layla can feel the slight tension in the air.
Really, it's at times like these that her little girl reminds her of Marc.
Letting out a sigh Layla relents, "I've almost got him."
She watches as her daughter perks up, "Really?!"
Layla can't help the mixed feelings forming in the pit of her stomach. For one thing she's delighted her daughter can smile like that again, for another Layla wishes it was she who could light up her daughters face. Though she can't really blame little treasure since she herself was a daddy's girl to begin with. "Really, Really." She quotes, earning a happy giggle from her girl, "Now why don't you get packing, we leave as soon as I can get a trace on the man."
She watches as her daughter freezes and turns back towards her and in a voice so quiet asks, "You mean, I can come with you?"
It's the unspoken 'this time' hanging in the air that makes Layla pause and look, really look at her daughter. The subtle hope hidden in her eyes that forces Layla to remember all the times her... their daughter asked if she could come. How she only asked once each time, never more, only once.
How?
How had Layla and Marc not noticed?
"Of course you're coming, -" her daughter's squeals of happiness and excitement cut Layla off. She watched as her little one ran off on quick, but surprisingly quiet feet. Layla would have smiled and shook her head, but not this time.
This time she just silently observed their little girl zooming to and fro, leaping over any obstacles. ...When was the last time her daughter was this excited? This free?
Pursing her lips, she nodded to herself.
Marc was in deep shit once she got a hold of him.

AN: sorry for the late update. Just finished this chapter. Wattpad deleted 2 chapters this one was included (nearly shit myself in rage luckily it was only deleted on the app and I saved it from the website? Have no clue how that worked, I'm just so glad it did) also got sick... still sick but what ever.
I'm actually really happy Layla stole the rains for this one, really mama bear surprised me and I think it helps explain why Layla was so pissed at Marc. Before it felt more like she wanted to find Marc for her bruised pride and wanting answers (at least for me)
Gotta do some research on the story plots (haven’t seen the whole thing and don’t want to follow word for word so bullet points! … I thought I was done with research 😫)
Thanks for reading! ☺️

Bear Castle Chronicles 2.0
(actually there has been at least 4 different versions but let's not go there...)
I have officially un-shelved BCC (reintro here) after almost 2 years of hiatus. At the time I was very frustrated with it and felt like I didn't know anymore what I wanted and what was it's point. Now I have rediscovered a passion for it. With more distance to the story, I can more easily see the darlings that need to be killed and where I want to take this story. I will be rewriting some of the worldbuilding and restructuring the plot. Hopefully I get back to drafting it soon.
I drew some of the most central characters as I was thinking about the fashion. There's no big departures from my previous ideas, but I have much clearer image about the fashion in my mind now, so mission succeeded. I will use this as an opportunity to do a little re-intro to the characters. There is some changes to them, some older (which I never publicly introduced) some I have done since I un-shelved this WIP.
Tumblr media
Valeri cor Mantgamia (left)
he/him
Second youngest main sibling (25)
Accidentally becomes a spy but oops is the worst liar on the planet
Biromantic demisexual
Is in cavalry and there has all the homoromantic tension a man could ask for but is unfortunately the most repressed man
Is in for an existential crisis and unreasonable amounts of maiming (because he's my poor little meow meow)
Fiolev cor Mantgamia (right)
he/they
Youngest main sibling (19)
So in a much earlier iteration of the story he was a girl, but the character wasn't working out and I kinda made a whole different character, a boy, but I've still struggled figuring him out. You could say I transed his gender, so now he is transmasc
Valeri made him dress as a boy when they were kids and homeless, and while he doesn't see himself as a boy, he definitely doesn't see himself as a girl either and rather presents as a boy
Uses his ability to turn into a girl to con people though
Accidentally cons his way to being possessed by a demon and being part of a plot to start a civil war
Aroace
Faerathos cor Mantgamia (bottom)
he/him
Oldest main sibling (28)
He was supposed to be the one tragically cishet sibling... They were all cishet at first....
He is bi of course he is bi I'm incapable of not making my characters bi
Accidentally commits high treason by (accidentally of course) having an affair with the empress
Also commits high bi disaster by accidentally having a thing with the emperor too, his long time homoerotic friend
Tumblr media
Agrippa noé Moireau (top left)
she/her
Tragically straight
Groomed to be The Long Lost Rightful Heir and The Chosen One
Is actually a tool of imperial control
Valeri's love interest
Cassia cor Mantgamia (top right)
she/her
Second oldest main sibling (27)
Plotting murder literally every waking moment
Spying for the enemy with the goal of overthrowing the government and murdering the imperial family
Targets Julie, who is partroned by an imperial prince, but accidentally catches feelings but oops she is bad at feelings (the whole family is very accident-prone)
Collected on the outside, disaster bi on the inside
Julie noé Maupin (bottom left)
she/her
Opera singer master duelist lesbian casanova occasional novelist
Has a dark secret
Does NOT want to get involved with any political shenanigas (gets involved with political shenanigans)
Cateline (bottom right)
she/her
Assassin to a criminal organization Fiolew gets entangled with
One-sidedly in love with their leader who has ambitions of power
Mute and communicates with writing
Bi
Tumblr media
Marcus K'irhinzaham (left)
he/him
The commander of Mantgamia house guard, which now only consists of him, and (according to popular (and his) knowledge) Faerathos is the only one left to guard anyway
Widely recognized as the greatest swordsman of his time
Short king (169 cm)
Bi
Cúén "Fechín" cor Faélci (right)
he/him
Previously named Conan cor Faélin, the last name changed a bit because I did some changes to his language and his first name didn't really fit the language either
Known in the army as Fechín, because he is imposing as his dead cousin to spy for the Cabalusian independence army
Gay trans man (which makes his cover solid, people think there's only daughter his age in his aristocratic family)
An asshole especially to Valeri but oops they have to secretly work together now
Gid'alon Child of Stars (bottom)
they/any
Vašáin, Ahinian third gender, in their case it means they are intersex and non-binary
In exile after doing a little bit of heresy
Just wants to do their research on the spiritrealm but oops one of the demons they studied possessed Fiolew

starshine legacy playthrough part 4.3
Tumblr media
i had a lot of glitches with the dialogue there… what did i miss… guess i’ll find out! ouch burnt my finger on my poor laptop
Level 3 - The Destiny of the Soulriders
Tumblr media
oh ok thanks game!!
Tumblr media
lisa referenced her dad but alex’s mom has a Portrait! impressive! and her roots are brown! so alex’s hair probably is also brown! that makes sense bc the Prophecy Fortold that the warrior would have brown hair but only the sightseer has brown hair. been wondering about that
Tumblr media
girl WHAT are you planning with a lil kid wearing a soda hat
ah. she’s ransoming him for the horse. ok
i love how anne was all “ugh lisa’s crazy, talking about magic powers and talking to her horse… what’s that? my horse is talking to me? nah, i’m just stressed…” but alex never even questioned it. she just went straight from “oh, that’s my horse whose thoughts i can now hear” to “whoa, just like lisa and linda! cool…” like she just got shown a psychic vision and she’s not at all concerned about the mystical parts of that. good for her!
Tumblr media
like she JUST got initiated into secret magic society and she doesn’t even know if mr herman has heard about it or believes in it or anything but instantly she’s like THIS HAPPENED in full confidence that he’ll believe it. alex rocks
Tumblr media
FINALLY SOMEONE ADMITS THE PATH IS TREATUEROUSE ! Treah. trecharuous. treacherous . thanks autocorrecet
we just fell off a cliff into the sea… rip alex.
aw rats! fripp says katja is with the baddies…   …wait. wait, was katja the cool emo violinist who made storms who i met in sso? was that her??? i just noticed recently that the four girls in the sso loading image are Those Four… the plot thickenings!!
Tumblr media
MURDER POWER MURDER POWER
so funny… big complex explanation to alex on how to use her powers by being in two worlds at once and then he just says “(click left mouse button)”. incredibly dangerous powers that can never be used… click left mouse button
wwwwWWAIT A SECOND! katja’s face is on the GLAMOUR POSTERS!!
Level 4 - the legend of Garnok
alex just said she would simply Stun the goons with her power, the dangerous power, the power that takes life away,
in this chapter we learn that Garnok exists and is bad & lisa’s dad who works for the dark core just got summoned to the garnok project work site, so garnok is the thing sleeping in the spaceship under the sea and they’re about to be raised! wahooooo
Level 5 - Dark Core Garnok Project
aughh there’s 5 goons to murder without getting caught and i’ve been caught twice so far. this is major because there’s a cutscene and a trail to follow every time i have to restart the mission. murder is hard
wait…     there’s also a tunnel that goes under the sea straight to the garnok project that i’ve been walking past??? so what’s the place with the fight i’ve been going to, then??? mysterious…
ah, ok. gotta fight the goons in order to open the grate they’ve got on the tunnel to keep kids like me from breaking and entering. wah
I JUST ACCIDENTALLY SOULSTRIKED TIN CAN INSTEAD OF MOUNTING HIM
HE SURVIVED BUT EAHSFHKDJHN
i got to the keycard that i need to pick up but i couldn’t click to pick it up because it just kept doing the soulstrike again… guess i need to kill all of the goons first in order to get it…
i have lost track of the number of times i’ve restarted this mission
I GOT THE KEYCARD!!! and only killed 1 goon!
love it when you’re eavesdropping on a guy and he says “good thing that scary girl doesn’t have this book that i’m holding, otherwise she’d be able to defeat us! lmao ammiright lads”
NO I MISSED
phew! it onlys sent me back to the tunnel!! i don’t have to get the keycard again!! thanks game!!!
missed again
my blast went over their head this time
ok we did all that to get a book about rules that even evil people follow during fights, and using it we can now banish people to the shadow dimension???? isn’t that anne’s thing? oh well
last part

Another book review because your girl just finished reading The Mark Of Athena!
WARNING! contains spoilers for The Mark Of Athena if you haven’t read it yet and don’t want major plot points to be spoiled dont read this! Also at one point I do swear!
Hello there my little sugar pancakes! Welcome back to another pointless book review/rant!
Mark of Athena - Rick Riordan
book rating:
🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩 .5 donuts out of 10! (Read to find out why it’s not a perfect 10)
First of UNCLE RICK STRAIGHT UP JUST YEETED PERCABETH INTO TATURAS LIKE WTF! They just got back together than *punch in the face* oof big scary giant war than when we caught our breath *stronger punch to the face* Bye bye percabeth have fun in HELL! like he did them so dirty! Also fun reminder Annabeth’s bag and dagger are lost so she can’t heal or defend herself and another key point is that her leg/ankle is practically useless at this point based of how much strain she has put on the injury. Percy has riptide but as mentioned early he is a bit rusty with his sword fighting and there is absolutely 0 water in Taturas so with Annabeth having nothing and Percy having a single sword they are practically doomed (haha funny joke they 100% have plot amour so they’ll be fine😅)
Next point is our poor boy Nico! He has a subscription to ultimate trauma plus and I think he needs to cancel that subscription asap! Just a quick recap of what this subscription has brought him:
Mother being killed
being stuck in a timeless hotel for 70+ years
getting out and almost being killed by monsters
Sister “abandoning” him and joining the hunter’s
said sister dies
realises oh shit I think I’m gay…
feels like no one loves him and leaves camp halfblood
gets sent on a suicide mission to Taturas
gets trapped in a jar of 3+ days
like that’s nine traumatic things and I think he is only like 13-14 at this point! Like give my boy a break! But at least he has Hazel to comfort him and yes i know Nico still has more trauma to come but like please let him cancel his subscription soon!
Speaking of trauma subscriptions poor bad boy supreme is heavily in his ‘I hate myself and no one loves me era’. The way he blames himself for everything even if it was inevitable or it wasn’t even his fault! He needs to cut himself some slack! And also shame on nemesis for telling and already insecure boy that he will always be the seventh wheel, like telling someone there the third wheel is harsh but the seventh?! That’s like a bullet to the heart! Also the complicated way that Hazel and Leo’s pasts intertwine is crazy! Hazels first boyfriend way Leo’s great grandpa and that Sammy (hazels first boyfriend) still blames himself for selling the diamond and believing it cause her disappearance! Like that’s just some next level shit!
Anyway overall I would say this was a great book that really gave us a quality insight into some further law, personality’s and backstory’s of these characters. I would rate this a 9.5/10 donuts not a perfect 10 because uncle Rick chucked percabeth into Taturas (imma start rating books out of donuts now)

Daughter of Olympus (Leo Valdez xFem!Oc)
A/N: Obsessed with the way brown eyes look with the sunlight -Danny Words: 2,230 Series' Masterlist Previous Chapter / Next Chapter Listen to: 'Wonder' -by Shawn Mendes
Tumblr media
XX: My Fiance Threatens to Set Us on Fire
I walk through the camp's forest until I run into Janus standing against a limestone wall, moving his keys from one hand to the other.
"Are you lost, girl?"
I eye them carefully. "Why are you in my dream?"
"We should be asking you that," the left head responds.
"Are you torn?" Asks the other. "If you are..."
"We'll get to know each other," Left grins.
"Or maybe not... she's seen enough to know better."
"Bah! Heroes never learn!" Leftie sneers. "Especially the siblings of Eros..."
"We'll meet again, Arae Jackson," Janus says in unison.
Tumblr media
Jason leans closer to the window. "What is that?"
"Where?"
"That road, the one that goes through the hills."
Piper seizes the headset and asks the pilot. "She says it's Highway 24. That's the Caldecott Tunnel. Why?"
Jason glares at the road. Ara tries to lean forward to look, but as she does, Leo scolds her again. "Seriously, stop that!"
"Fine!" She barks. "Gods, you're worse than Lily and—!" Her tongue freezes on its own. Leo glances at her with a little pout, she's got the feeling he knows what name she was about to say, but that's impossible.
"We're a team, right?" He says after a moment. "I'm allowed to boss you around sometimes."
Ara scowls. "I have the feeling you'll abuse that power."
He smirks. "For your own good, ya know?"
"The crazy thing is I truly believe that you'd do it to help me," the girl snorts. "And I've been thinking about what your dad told you... us partnering up. He told me that too when I met him, I just... I didn't remember until you brought it up."
That is a lie, of course. She never forgot, and now she knows for sure he's the Hephaestus kid she's meant to help, but she's trying to ignore it, her feelings aren't leading to a platonic partnership and that's worrisome at best.
"What did he tell you?" Leo sighs. "That you need to be patient 'cause I'm always messing up?"
Ara makes a face. "He didn't like me."
Tumblr media
The first time I saw Hephaestus I remember thinking: "Poor guy!"
Now, what I'm thinking is: "Please, don't step on me!"—Which seems to catch his attention, cause he pauses to examine my tiny form.
"You're an Aphrodite."
"Your children teach me stuff," I blurt out in awe.
He squints as if he's having trouble discerning my face. "Arae Jackson," The god scoffs. "I wouldn't've chosen you."
I'm not expecting him to pay any compliments, but he could've kept those thoughts to himself! I mean, I like the guy! But he's just blunt, I think. Not a good trait when talking to someone who tends to sugarcoat everything she says.
"Ara's a good trainee!" Percy argues right away.
"We'll see about that," the god grunts.
Tumblr media
"I—I have to get my dad home. I'm sorry, guys."
If Piper leaves, Leo and Jason are the only ones left capable of finishing the quest. The boy with amnesia, and the rookie with no training. Both weaponless.
"Oh," Leo speaks quietly. "I mean, absolutely. He needs you right now. We can take it from here."
"Pipes, no," Tristan manages to stand. "You have a mission. A quest. I can't—"
"I'll take care of him," Hedge steps in.
Piper hesitates. "You?"
"I'm a protector," the satyr shrugs. "That's my job, not fighting." He fixes his posture as soon as he says that. "Of course, I'm good at fighting, too."
"Yes."
"Terrifying."
"I learned it all from you," Ara nods.
"But I'm a protector, and I can do this," Hedge continues. "Your dad's right, Piper. You need to carry on with the quest."
"But... Dad..."
Tristan hugs his daughter, and Jason guides Ara and Leo away. "Let's give them a minute..."
Hedge goes with the ranger to bring Tristan's plane to where they are. Ara starts to feel an itch on her left shoulder and winces.
"What's wrong?" Jason nods at her arm.
"Itchy," Ara grimaces. "But I can't scratch myself 'cause Mr. First-aid Valdez forbade me from squirming around."
"Since when do you listen to him?" Jason's amused by her statement. "And who appointed you as our caretaker, Leo?"
"She almost lost an arm saving your ass," Leo raises a brow and shrugs. "If she can multitask why can't I?"
Jason grins. "Well, the itch might be good, your arm might be getting some feeling back, Ara."
"I won't know for sure until I get it checked by a professional."
"By professional you mean an immortal fifteen-year-old?" Leo taunts her.
"Or an Apollo camper."
"Teenagers," Leo continues with a straight face. "That you trust blindly."
"I would trust any demigod with my life," the gravity with which she says it makes Leo feel like he's insulted her entire lineage.
Hedge hurries past them when Tristan faints. "Got him," he sits him upright. "I already asked our ranger friend to call up his plane. It's on the way now. Home address?"
"Everything's on here," Piper hands him the phone she fished out of her dad's pocket. "Address, his chauffeur's number. Just watch out for Jane."
"Who's Jane?"
Piper tells him about the assistant who's been brainwashed by Gaea, then the expensive and slick plane comes along, and it's time to say goodbye. Ara approaches the flight attendant and reaches for her compass.
"Hold this, please," the girl sets the object on the woman's hand.
"Oh my god!" The lady gasps, looking at Tristan with wide eyes. "What—"
Ara snaps her fingers and starts talking, maintaining eye contact with the woman.
"This is Gleeson Hedge, Mr. McLean's personal trainer. This is top secret information, so we'll pay for your silence..." Piper hands her the money she got from Aphrodite. "Make sure no one sees Tristan leave the airport, and make sure no one wakes him until he's home, he gets cranky. Got it?"
"Yes, ma'am," the lady hurries to reply. "This way, gentlemen..."
Ara seizes the compass and puts it back in her pocket. At the boy's look of confusion, she points back with her thumb. "That's how you control the mist."
"Would you marry me?" Leo blurts out.
Hedge hugs Piper, and Ara attempts to lean down and do the same, but he stops her. "I know you're a big deal, but you better behave while I'm not here to keep an eye on you, alright? Make sure those hunters use top-tier cures apt for Olympians."
Ara chuckles, bumping fists with him. "You got it, Coach."
"You cupcakes take care of these girls, you hear? Or I'm gonna make you do push-ups."
"You got it, Coach," Leo grins, quoting Ara's words.
"No push-ups," Jason agrees.
"Thank you, Gleeson," Piper hugs him again. "Take care of him, please."
"I got this, McLean. They got root beer and veggie enchiladas on this flight, and one hundred percent linen napkins—yum! I could get used to this."
As they ensure the jet takes flight, Piper finally loosens up and starts crying. Jason hugs her. "Your dad's in good hands, you did amazing."
Ara pats the girl's head like Silena used to do with her. "You've done well. All I did during my first quest was keep a guy steady while my brother beheaded him—the guy was a monster," she explains when Jason looks at her horrified.
"And how old were you then?" Piper accepts the Kleenex Leo's offering.
"Ten," to everyone's surprise, Leo's the one who answers. "She was also ten when she fought the guy who got possessed by Kronos."
"He wasn't possessed by Kronos when I fought him," she specifies, "and I only threw an empty basket at—"
"You also threw a rock—"
"Wait, how long has it been since?" Jason frowns. "How old are you now, Ara?"
"She's fourteen, man," Leo responds.
"You're younger than all of us?" Jason asks in shock. "And you're the Strategus?"
"Seriously, how old do I look?" Ara frowns. "Your reactions are alarming—"
"Guys," Piper moves, pointing at something.
An iris message forms behind the blond boy's head.
"Thalia!" Jason gasps.
"Thank the gods,"  it sounds like there's a heated fight going on around her. "We've found her—Where are you?"
"Oakland. Where are you?"
"The Wolf House! Oakland is good; you're not too far. We're holding off the giant's minions, but we can't hold them forever. Get here before sunset, or it's all over."
"Then it's not too late?" Piper holds her breath.
"Not yet. But Jason—it's worse than I realized. Porphyrion is rising. Hurry."
Fighting a lesser giant almost sent Ara to the underworld (corporeal form included). She can't imagine what might happen if she's forced to fight the king of the bunch with a broken arm.
"But where is the Wolf House?"
"Our last trip—The park. Jack London. Remember?"
The message blurs into the air, and Jason stumbles back.
"Bro, you all right?" Leo holds him. "You know where she is?"
"That's the place where you saw your mother last, isn't it?" Ara guesses.
"I don't mind," the woman agrees.
"Yes. Sonoma Valley. Not far. Not by air."
"Ma'am," Piper smiles politely to the mortal ranger. "You don't mind helping us one more time, do you?"
"We can't take a mortal into battle," Jason stops her. "It's too dangerous. Do you think you could fly this thing?"
When he asks that, he's looking at Ara and Leo. Ara has journeyed in pegasus, hellhounds, motorbikes, chariots, a bronze dragon, and flying pigs—she's driven her father's Prius once or twice, but she's never flown a Helicopter.
Leo touches its surface and closes his eyes. "Bell 412HP utility helicopter—Composite four-blade main rotor, cruising speed twenty-two knots, service ceiling twenty-thousand feet. The tank is near full. Sure, I can fly it."
Ara stares at him with flushed cheeks. "Leo, if I live to turn eighteen, you can marry me."
Piper directs her attention to the ranger. "You don't have a problem with an under-aged unlicensed kid borrowing your copter, do you? We'll return it."
"I—I don't have a problem with that," the lady chokes out the sentence like it hurts her a little.
"Hop in, kids! Uncle Leo's gonna take you for a ride," he lets Jason and Piper climb in first, then he grins from ear to ear and offers his arm to Ara. "Would my beautiful fiancee like to copilot?"
Ara moves him out of the way. "I wouldn't miss the opportunity to sit at the front."
The girl puts on the headset to hear Leo over the noise, but he doesn't seem to need help, so she relaxes and enjoys the moment. She pulls out her compass again and her heart skips a beat.
"Leo?"
"Yeah?"
"What do you see here?" She shows him the compass and Leo glances down at it, his hands doing their own thing without him paying attention.
"What's that?"
"Almighty," she stares at the object, "but it's never worked... as a compass, I mean. I think can read it now."
"You understand what those symbols are?" He looks up at her.
"Maybe," Ara tilts her head. "Hey, I know we don't have fuel to waste but just for science... can you turn to the left?" Leo obliges, and the moment he does the needle changes position. Ara swears in ancient Greek. "Nemo was right!"
"Who?"
"Percy!" She laughs. "He was right! It points to where I need to go..."
"That's cool!" Leo drives the chopper to its original path. "And a relief, I'm only eighty percent sure I know what I'm doing..."
"You're great," Ara's gaze is full of esteem. "You're the best thing that's happened to me in a while, I was so wrong about you."
Leo blushes at her statement, he scowls at the sunlight ahead. "Shut up."
"I mean it!"
"Ara," smoke starts rising from his head, "don't be nice to me or I'll set us on fire."
"Oh." She looks away, now also blushing. "Okay. Sorry."
After a while, the sun begins to set and it hurts Leo's eyes, so she searches their seats and finds a pair of aviator sunglasses. As soon as their fingers brush, his skin glows the same color as hers. Ara looks up and locks eyes with him for a moment.
His chocolate-brown eyes had never looked this breathtaking, it's been snowing hard since they left camp, so Ara didn't know he looked like this with the sunlight.
Leo mumbles a thank you and puts the sunglasses on, but that doesn't help Ara's increasing pace of her heart, he looks great with those too.
Tumblr media
Grover feels the presence of Pan and decides to follow it, so Tyson goes with him. Percy wants me to go too, but I'm against it. Hephaestus gave us a mission, I want to change his mind about me not being a good choice.
I go with Percy and Annabeth, and that's how I discover my power, the one no one knows about.
My brother initiates a manhunt, and Annabeth scolds both of us. When Percy does something dumb I also get reprimanded, I have nothing to do with it, but I didn't stop him, so it's partially my fault cause Annabeth thinks I should know better.
The Telkhines have us cornered so Percy offers to be the distraction. Annabeth and I refuse, he insists, and that's when it happens.
There's a split second of nothing before I hear a buzz, like a lightbulb that takes ages to charge fully. A scarlet light blinds me and I think we've been attacked with some kind of magical dynamite, but I can't sense heat.
I cover my eyes, and when I look through my fingers, I discover it wasn't an explosion. Percy and Annabeth are kissing, and they're glowing. I yelp and cover my eyes entirely once more.
"Be careful, Seaweed brain."
My friend gets up and runs, but Percy and I look at each other without knowing what to do, he's still glowing like a stoplight. He blinks a few times with a dazzled expression.
"Ara, run!"
And I run.

hey barbie will you tell me about arcee? i only know her from transformers prime and the occasional screencap <3 🌸🦋
Yes!!! I always want to talk about Arcee, and I mean IDW1 Arcee, which I assume is the one you’re talking about. She is great, she is the best character in IDW1. So since you know nothing about her, let me give you the rundown of her character. Keep in one that the stuff with her during phase 1 is, uh, not good, but as of phase 2 when she became a character in John Barber stories she was greatly expanded upon and recontextualized.
Ok so, she is old as dirt, like over 10 million years old. She was forged male in a time where Cybertron was a bunch of scattered tribes and her and her twin brother Galvatron where enslaved gladiators to a Prime (which seemed to just be a title for a tribal leader at this point) who had to play blood sports to eat. This is going to leave one with a lot fucking issues, but she was really good at it. But then Megatronus (later Prime) shows up and frees them and Arcee and Galvatron join the 13 Primes in uniting Cybertron.
Things seem like they’re going to be fine, but Arcee is not so sure. Then the 13 Primes decide to spread the Cybertronian civilization across the universe, which is called colonization, which is a bad thing. When Arcee realizes what she’s part of she feels like shit about it. Then the 13 Primes have drama and break up, some of them die, some of them fuck up, Cybertron falls into chaos in what’s called the First Civil War until Galvatron’s new bestie, Nova, shows up and unites Cybertron again.
While Arcee is trans we don’t know when exactly she started to realize that a male identity wasn’t how she felt on her spark, but we do know that is something she struggled with. I don’t think this is helped by the fact that at some point people Cybertron kinda… forgot about gender, so everyone was just male by default (not in the colonies, but by this point Cybertron had lost contact with them). So not only is she seen as something she isn’t, the thing that she is something people have lost any frame of reference for even though Arcee knew people like her before. This must be extremely alienating. Add to that that Arcee explains that she has always have trouble connecting with people (because Autism), so the poor girl must have felt very, very alone.
Arcee ends up volunteering to have some kind of gender affirming surgery with this mad scientist called Jhiaxus, who then just does malpractice on her, doesn’t provide proper aftercare and is seemingly disappointed that Arcee doesn’t fir his idea of what a female Cybertronian should be. This sort of breaks Arcee and turns the thing that she’s best at (murder) on Jhiaxus. But Jhiaxus leaves with Nova Prime and Galvatron in yet another expansionist mission and disappear, so Arcee is left trying to find traces of Galvatron across the galaxy and getting rid of his creations.
After the Autobot-Decepticon civil war broke out, Arcee seems to be allied with the Autobots (but we are later left to understand she never joined proper), which makes sense as the Decepticon ideology of mechanical superiority is a sore spot for her. But she’s mainly focused on tracking down Jhiaxus. At some point she meets fellow trans woman, Anode, who says she can help her, but Anode disappears before she can get any real support. Which also doesn’t help her mental state, but at least know she’s sure none of the stuff with Jhiaxus was her fault and is more eager than ever to kill him and will kill everyone that gets in her way.
I think that Arcee is justified in everything she’s ever done. But apparently the Autobots don’t agree with me, they see Arcee as some weirdo, blood thirsty murderer that went crazy because of Jhiaxus, so they put her in jail, and later free her because they need their help. She eventually manages to finally catch Jhiaxus and because of plot reasons, he’s in a state of undead where Arce gets to kill him over and over and over again. This was a very therapeutic experience that allowed her to think about stuff and clear her had.
So after the war ends and Bumblebee and co. are having trouble maintaining the harmony between the Autobots, Decepticons and neutrals on Cybertron, Arcee has now come to the conclusion that a better world must be possible, so she tries to work towards that even if the only thing she really understands is violence. Arcee seems to hate herself and her own race for being like this,  she thinks that whatever world they create won’t have a place for her, that her fate is to die in a battlefield, but still she tries, because it’s what must be done.
At first she works under Prowl because he makes sense for her, until she realizes he sucks. She also tries to connect with Sideswipe because she thinks they’re similar, but Sideswipe keeps denying any closeness because he wants to consider himself better than her. Arcee has internalized the idea that things like friendship are just nor for her, but the truth is that she does crave connection to people, but she struggles with it because she’s socially awkward, doesn’t really get how socialization works and everyone is stuck with the idea of her as a crazy murder lady and keep denying her any interiority.
The only person that seems to get her is Galvatron, who is causing trouble again after coming back and almost ending the universe twice. Like a good brother who was with you during your formative years he does understand Arcee but that doesn’t mean he sympathizes with her and uses his knowledge to ger under her skin and manipulate her. Imagine only being understood by the worst person alive, that sucks. She will later let Optimus kill him and have conflicted feelings over it.
Optimus, at least, does give Arcee a chance and seems to like her. Arcee is not impressed by him because again, she’s old as fuck, she knew the original Primes, but OP seems to appreciate this. Arcee ends up becoming sort of his right hand woman and seems to stick with him both because she’s still trying to help create a better world and also to keep an eye on him since OP is doing a lot of questionable stuff that rings a bell on her head. Which includes using his Prime clout to get a bunch of wide-eyed colonists (by this point, they have made contact with the old colonies again btw) to join him.
One of those people being Aileron, a very sweet girl who grew up with idealized stories about the Primes and has no context of what war is actually like and will have to face reality. Despite everything Aileron matures a lot and is able to keep her head and see things from a different perspective. She doesn’t see Arcee as a crazy murder lady because to Aileron all the veterans are messed up, and honestly Arcee probably looks better than average since she has been putting a lot of work in changing her ways and her straightforwardness allows her to not get caught up in the same things other people do.
So Aileron and Arcee bond, Aileron shows Arcee a lot of sympathy when Arcee is upset because Sideswipe is in critical condition, and she’s not intimidated by Arcee or the idea that she’s crazy. Eventually Sideswipe dies but before that he does apologize to Arcee and thanks her for being there for him. Arcee is sad but also happy that he could make peace before the end, which allows her to get more at peace with herself. Aileron is there to help her and she will keep insisting she’s there to catch Arcee. When Arcee finally internalizes the idea that she’s not alone, she kisses Aileron and they become a couple.
Then Unicron shows up, who turns out to be a creation of a scientist from the planet in that first colonization expedition Arcee took place in. He’s here to eat all Cybertronian colonies. It seems that maybe is better if he kills them all, after all Cybertronians seems to be stuck on a never-ending cycle of violence and they’re all here because of it. Arcee thinks that she herself does deserve to die.
When it comes to either Optimus or Arcee to sacrifice themselves to activate the thing they need to stop Unicron, Optimus tells Arcee to go, while he’s stuck as a symbol of war, Arcee has managed to move past that and she has someone to return to. Optimus dies to bury the legacy of Primes with him so the Transformers can move on. Arcee, who has been there since the beginning and spent most of her life knowing nothing but violence, proves that change is possible and ends the continuity teaching about new generations about the importance of trying and having hope in the future. She is happy.
I love her, she’s better than everyone else. I would die for her. Do you understand me now, Leo?

Chapter 5: Cage
Reiner had gotten used to the damp, brick interior of his new domicile. The flex of his hand told him he'd been here for long enough to see his knife wound start to scar over (his most recent wound was unreadable as it was still covered with gauze). He would think over this human ability over and over again, but for the sake of this story, perhaps it's not necessary to peel the audience over the reason again.
A guard had told him the first night he arrived in his prison cell, after he had been long treated for his wound, the stakes of his commitments to jail. It was unlawful behavior, for taking part in physical harm and further eliciting bodily anguish onto another person. There was supposedly discussion if they'd count him as an accomplice to what they worded as the riot. It had currently been growing so out of hand, that now officials were disseminating warnings of evacuation for citizens in the relative area. Reiner did not know to what extent.
It would be neglectful to not mention how the hazel-eyed man's first thoughts bolted to his friends. Most importantly, and unashamedly if he should mention, Janette. He had known his comrades enough to be in confidence that they were most likely handled correctly. And in a general synopsis as he slowly discovered, his military friends were not in trouble. They were guided away in mature fashion, and it so happened to be that it was the security guard's first duty assignment attempting to guide Reiner to safety. A horrible luck of the draw, and by all means necessary, Reiner mulled over it quite a bit.
At first he was angry about the whole thing. The conspiracy of having him judged as an accomplice to what was now being featured as an act of potential terrorism. The fact that his friends were safe, but not him. The lack of contact he had to the outside. How he wanted to shake some hurt to the poor security guard who failed him. Where was that poor excuse of a security guard, anyway? He had heard nothing from the fool, and he assumed it was because of the insurmountable guilt of failing his first mission. He wouldn't be able to look Reiner in the eyes. Reiner only knew half of the story.
He had to draw out his thoughts, and slowly the resentment of the situation faded as the days longed into weeks, and from there he lost track of time. His poor girl must've thought he'd abandoned her. He was woefully pitiful through his escapades of missing her. He'd turn and curl in his given bed, hug himself and bare his fingers into his arms out of shame. If there was the phrase of crying, shitting, and puking, Reiner would've used it. He was sure he lost her. For some reason these were the first ruminating thoughts. He became so selfish that all worry of even where she was, or if she was okay had been deserted. No. It was hope. He had so much faith in the idea of her being completely fine, that he took no more worry. He just became piss poor thinking he could not be okay with her. That fairytale in his mind was the only thing keeping him clear in conscience.
It wasn't until about the third week that he accepted in religious faith that he'd escape. Nobody was coming for him. He had no visitors, and he found no home in the jail within the island of Paradis. It was a sorry excuse to not be a Prisoner of War by this point. Civil disputes were a heavy matter. His conclusion for the idea of escape lulled from his intonation of being a scout. A heavy realization that he accepted. He started to mental note habits of the area around him. When guards would switch, which fellow inmates had special privileges, and much more of the same realm.
His cell neighbor, Elias, would entertain some information during the little freetime inmates would share in the courtyard. The bastard was brilliant, but short, unappealing, and covered by a thick layer of glasses over his eyes. Might I say that perhaps that isn't as unappealing after all. Elias came aware quickly of the soldier's need to escape. He wasn't sure if he could trust this once stranger, but after some time it meant no difference to him. Any level of betrayal would mean no difference to him. It was either escaping, or not.
“I think Emanuel has a connection, Reiner.” The short, brown-haired man said one day in the courtyard.  “What kind of connection?” “The kind to buy freedom.” The two argued about why Elias would not join him in an escape. Truth be told, Elias claimed he was too old for that debauchery. Ironically, the blonde wondered if his physical age matched Elias’ after assuming the power of his titan for so long.  “Would Emanuel be able to divvy up a share of freedom to an idiot like me?” The conversation was short-ended after that. Maybe the question seemed too rhetorical, but for whatever reason Reiner dropped It. The two robotically found their worn clutch of grass by the chained fence that enclosed them from the outside, and got to playing cards.
Elias was the only kind person in the prison, the soldier assumed. He didn't know what the older man saw in him, but there was something fatherly in his behavior. Reiner never knew that his familial sore spot could potentially be so easily seen. He could never figure out why, when they'd eat or be outside playing cards, that the man would slip him some cash to get by. At first, Reiner’s heart sank as he assumed the old man wanted a sexual favor in exchange for the cash, but it was when Elias expounded he wanted nothing in return for it, did Reiner just slightly believe him.
He still rejected the money, at first. It wasn't until he got scammed by a senior inmate and didn't have any money to pay in resolution did he find himself at utter ends. He had nothing. No paper, no pencils, no extra privilege. Not until Elias insisted. Reiner was still convinced in the back of his mind that the other wanted to shag in the public showers, but the need from Mr. Glasses never came. Reiner hid his money in his shoes, pillow, and just about anything that he had ownership over. They never questioned it, and Elias never wanted any thanks. The whole thing made absolutely no sense to the blonde.
“You need to get that hair on your face shaved. You're starting to look like a scoundrel.” A card tossed in the center pile. Reiner didn't even remember what the game was called. “And your head,” he added. Reiner joined a card in the center and eyed Elias in amusement.
“I don't know. I think the ladies like it.” What ladies, where? There were none to be seen in this facility. Janette surely wouldn't, would she? She wouldn't want him now. She must've found someone else after he assumed he broke her heart. Elias interrupted his thoughts.
“For someone known to have helped save the world, you surely don't get any visitors.” The confirmation of his thoughts stung, but the other made no look of discernment as another card was tossed into the middle pile. There were so many questions unanswered. Nobody had come to see him. He had gotten zero letters or any kind of message to reveal the state of his friends. He assumed the worst. Had they given up on him? He tried. He thought he did the right thing. He wanted to prove to them- that's how he even ended up in this prison. The thoughts were not worth his time. Survival was key here.
The whistles blew, and it was time to be a dog again, rotting and leashed.
