BROKEN

Shattered like a fallen vase

I feel so out of place

Everything fell apart

There's no light

Only dark

Black Hole rising

Announcing my arriving

I'm in too deep

Darkness begins to creep

I am taken

From my body

No time to write a

Note to say sorry

I became a burden

Here is my life

I'll gladly turn in

Now let me close

My eyes one last time

Close the curtains

I'll see you in

Another lifetime

Feeding myself images of you

Makes my heart beat

My cheeks become slightly flushed

All of sudden, all I know is under the spotlight

Set to stage, I come out

Wearing all my hats

With every trick I pull out

You’re my only audience

Sitting next to you

Is versions of me

Holding out mirrors

That gleam catches my eyes

I can’t help but break a leg

Looking back at it now

When you threw roses at my feet

I thought they weren’t going to bloom because they’ve already been cut

Turns out

They came from the garden we grew

unraveling

Slipping into those ribbons of blue, purple, twilight

It’s a small bitter taste sprinkled so softly across my lips

From past conversations, that maybe a honey balm salve could remedy

But the past has fled, turned into another

Uncoiled into the present and builds its tracks for the future
