"A man is washed clean with a glass of water, but the entire sea can't clean a woman."
—Albanian Proverb.
Meaning: Men are easily forgiven for the same mistakes with a small gesture, while women face ongoing judgment, revealing unfair expectations based on gender. This proverb shines a light on sexism within a culture, illustrating unequal forgiveness based on gender and emphasizing the need for awareness and change.

I always thought that "discretion is the better part of valour" meant that you keep quiet about the people you save/help/keep their secrets. Turns out it means that you can run away and that's much less cool.

fuck am I sick of all the quotes about love
you love him like Icarus loved the sun? the sun allowed Icarus to fall, desolate and in pain from hot wax seeping into his skin. in the spirit of worsening, Helios' domain was also catalyst to his fall from grace, literally and figuratively. one-sided love perhaps.
Or he shines like Sirus? Sirius sparkles so exquisitely because it's light is refracted in the layers of earth's atmosphere. Earth's influence is causing the beauty we perceive. Sirius doesn't sparkle as we know it to without influence from outside sources. a lot like many woman and men, distinct and altered.
She can read you like a book? Animal Farm, George Orwell originally published August 17th 1945, on the surface is a story of various farm animals who over take their master and run him and his wife out. on another, metaphoric level it is about the Russian Revolution. not everything reflects in the mirror as it truely was.
they complete you? you have to be unfinished to begin with.

Nico di Angelo was the first fanboy.
PROOF
1. I showed him Riptide, and explained how it turned from a pen into a sword just by uncapping it.
"Cool! Does it ever run out of ink?"
"Um, well, I don't actually write with it."
"Are you really the son of Poseidon?"
"Well, yeah."
"Can you surf really well, then?"
I looked at Grover, who was trying hard not to laugh.
2. He saw Nico and his sister on a snowy mountain cliff in Maine, Percy Jackson protecting them from the manticore. Percy's sword gleamed in the dark. He'd been the first demigod Nico had ever seen in action. Later at Camp Half-Blood, Percy took Nico by the arm, promising to keep his sister Bianca safe. Nico believed him. Nico looked into his sea-green eyes and though, How can he possibly fail? This is a real hero
3. “Percy is the most powerful demigod I've ever met. No offense to you guys, but it's true.”
4. Nico's mouth hung open. "You just . . .with a sword . . .you just—"
5. An idea came to him – possibly the stupidest, craziest idea he’d had since he thought, Hey, I’ll get Percy to swim in the River Styx! He’ll love me for that!

"I'm gonna sign it right on Shawn's naked butt."
*dies laughing!* I'm watching Hunt, Chyna and Hendrix on The Shopping Channel back in 1998 once again - and if I hadn't already been laughing my ass off since the first minute, I sure would be now. That, ladies and gentlemen, was a direct quote from Hunter when he was asked to sign a WWF magazine.
Darling, sometimes you make it so damn easy...
*still giggling*

“The nights now are full of wind and destruction; the trees plunge and bend and their leaves fly helter skelter until the lawn is plastered with them and they lie packed in gutters and choke rain pipes and scatter damp paths. Also the sea tosses itself and breaks itself, and should any sleeper fancying that he might find on the beach an answer to his doubts, a sharer of his solitude, throw off his bedclothes and go down by himself to walk on the sand, no image with semblance of serving and divine promptitude comes readily to hand bringing the night to order and making the world reflect the compass of the soul. The hand dwindles in his hand; the voice bellows in his ear. Almost it would appear that it is useless in such confusion to ask the night those questions as to what, and why, and wherefore, which tempt the sleeper from his bed to seek an answer.”

Dick, at Damian soccer game, watching from the sidelines: Wooo! Let’s go Dami!
Random lady: Oh is he your son?
Dick, touched: Oh ha, he’s actually my brother!
*Later*
Dick, hanging out with Tim: Come on we should get ice cream.
Random Guy: Oh out for some father son bonding time?
Dick, grasping at the thought of looking old enough to have a college aged son: w h a t
