Sperry, 2003 on the optimal functioning level of the obsessive-compulsive (anankastic) personality style:
This person has a desire to complete tasks and projects without flaws or errors.
This person takes pride in doing all jobs and tasks well, including the smallest details.
This individual tends to want things done “just right” with some tolerance for things being done another way.
This individual is dedicated to working hard and is capable of intense, single-minded effort.
This person carefully considers alternatives and their consequences while making decisions.
This person is generally careful, thrifty, and cautious but able to share from their abundance.
This person tends to save and collect objects and may be reluctant to discard objects.
This person tends to have strong moral principles and strongly desires to do the right thing.
This person is a no-nonsense individual who does work without much emotional expenditure.
This corresponds to the Compliant type in the DiSC personality type system, and the traditional melancholic temperament.

Cluster C Flags I Will Use!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I managed to find and/or create some Cluster C Pride Flags, for those with Cluster C Disorders!
First Flag: Dependent Personality Disorder (DPD) - created by @toobs
Second Flag: Avoidant Personality Disorder (AvPD) - created by Me, inspired by @avpdvoidspace 's flag
Third Flag: Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD) - created by @21stcenturynarc
Anyone can use these (mine, at least), as anyone should be able to represent their disorder properly.

last year i realised, that i suffer from self destructive behaviour and aspire to be perfect at the same time. i remember a time when i was mentally burnt out and have been working 6 days a week without any break and that for almost half of a year. it was tough working two jobs, going to university, doing the household, staying up late and getting up early, while trying to maintain a social life where i took care of my family and spend the nights with my friends. i did it all. and i was good at it. but it made me exhausted and both my environment and i realised, something needs to change. whenever i tried to be perfect during that time i paid attention to every detail and worked by myself lots of time, so i’m the one who has control over everything. i sacrificed myself for others. and i couldn’t accept any form of help. nowadays i feel better and can slowly reflect on that time.

to my psychotic/paranoid/OCD/other friends - you might start seeing posts in the next few days about how the rapture supposedly happened or is going to happen very soon. a group of evangelical “rapture watchers” think the rapture happened 9/22/23 for a handful of reasons, such as the dates lining up in a way that’s somehow significant.
i promise the rapture didn’t happen. i don’t personally believe in the rapture and i have nothing against those who do, but it for sure didn’t already happen. if it did everyone would know. there would be tons of footage. anyone who tries to claim it did happen or that they know the date is either lying or misguided.

Being on the internet with OCD is like “I want to post a picture of my outfit because I look bomb but what if my full address and National Insurance number is written in the reflection of this random public bathroom mirror and I didn’t notice”

Being neurodivergent is truly so inconvenient. We need to talk about that more. I had the whooole last half of last week and this whooole weekend to do nothing but study for my big exam on Thursday. I have not even yet managed to finish the remaining 15 pages of one of the texts. And the worst thing is, I don't feel like doing anything else either!! It's not like I desperately need to draw, it's not like I desperately want to play a game, or watch a specific tv show or read a specific comic. No, nope. I'm just absolutely unable to do the ONE thing I had planned my whole time to do - to study about a topic I'm EXTREMELY passionate about and know WHY it's important that I do so - and when I try to push through it I fall fucking asleep! AAAAAAAAAA!!!!! So I end up losing hours and hours on social media, and now executive dysfunction is screwing me all over, I'm taking my meds super late and waking up super late, and the whole day ends up being a mess!!
"We all have the same 24 hours on the day" you speak for your abled self, I barely get 10 these days!

cluster a and cluster c culture is constantly being left out of conversations about personality disorders while still facing intense stigma and social isolation for your symptoms :/

I was recently diagnosed with an incredibly rare neurodevelopmental disorder caused by a genetic mutation on the PPP2R1A gene. The disorder is so rare it doesn't have a fancy name yet 😅 the worst symptoms of my disorder is the mental illnesses I deal with. Add onto that childhood abuse targeted at me because of my undiagnosed issues and I got the shit storm of mental health.
I have been diagnosed with C-PTSD, ADHD, OCD, PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder), Borderline Personality Disorder, Excoriation Disorder (severe skin picking), and Sensory Processing Disorder. Informally diagnosed as Autistic.
My entire life, I just thought I was a broken human being. Turns out I just have a genetic disorder that literally causes me to lose my mind 🤣 I always knew that mental illnesses liked to come in groups, but I got hit with the one-two punch that has left me unable to function on my own

Being neurodivergent is so fun (/sarcastic) because you can stand there for a solid hour or two not being able to choose what to eat for a variety of reasons that only another neurodivergent people understand. Keep in mind these aren't meant to sound logical. Hence neurodivergent. We know it doesn't make sense logically, but we still feel what we feel. Texture Flavor Memories/association Doesn't go with today's mood You 'Don't deserve it today' If I eat this then I can't have this because it'll mess with this Misinterpreting/misremembering what something is Based on color Based on Order Wanting something mid-cooking and then changing your mind Simply a "I could have this or I could have that" and us being a little more emotional over the fact that we can't always have both at the same time. And then of course our dilemmas of when we do choose our food WHY IS IT TOUCHING WHY IS IT NOT MIXED (particularly added this one because there's some food I physically cannot eat unless they're mixed and I think it's an OCD thing, like mashed potatoes and corn-) PLEASE feel free to add on! I love hearing what other people have in their heads. These are just ones that i have on a daily basis. <3

If you use “narcissist” as an adjective, I will immediately lose a degree of respect for you. The only use case that is acceptable for this word is to factually refer to someone who has NPD. Use a different word like egotistical, self-cantered, selfish, etc. instead of throwing around the name of a literal disorder to describe someone. This is especially annoying cuz people tend to exclusively use it to describe someone who has abused them in their lives. I’m very sorry if you have been abused, but it’s still no excuse. People can be abusive jerks regardless of whether they have NPD or any other disorder.
To me, it’s no different to someone saying “I’m very ocd about this” cuz they like things to be orderly. Another situation where you can very easily reword the sentence to avoid casually using a debilitating disorder as a quirky adjective. Though arguably calling someone a narcissist is worse because it pretty much exclusively is used as a way to negatively describe someone, often an abuser.
I could go on, but hopefully you get the point. Just…don’t use mental disorders as adjectives.
