hey fun fact did you know that if you're on the schizophrenia spectrum, have psychosis, have psychotic symptoms or traits, etc, that you're loved and your symptoms and traits should not be vilainized or seen as evil or ugly?

as someone who has experienced abuse from someone with a personality disorder, it's actually incredibly easy to not dehumanize everyone with a personality disorder. i've seen people do borderline eugenic rhetoric surrounding people who have npd, aspd, bpd or other personality disorders, and then be like "I'M allowed to say these things because i'm a survivor, and if you disagree you are hurting abuse victims."
and frankly? i'm tired of it. as an abuse survivor i'm here to say that you're NOT allowed to turn into a fucking eugenicist the moment you're hurt by someone with a personality disorder.
does hurting and belittling other people who happen to have the same disorder as your abuser, people that are already suffering and that are already looked down on by society, bring you any healing? does it bring you peace?
Being hurt by someone isn't an excuse to hurt others that you feel justified in lashing out on. you're literally in control of your own actions,
you may claim to be making a safe space for abuse survivors, but i will never feel any solidarity with you, and i ESPECIALLY don't feel safe with you considering i might have a personality disorder.
you are excluding a large amount of abuse survivors in the name of "advocacy". a lot of people with personality disorders developed one or multiple due to heavy abuse. in the aim of creating a safe space, you are excluding the ones who need a safe space the most.

one thing that i'll never understand is that when like autistic people mask they're not trying to deceive anyone and it's sad they've been forced to mask because of social pressures (obviously) but when people with personality disorders mask they're automatically trying to "manipulate" everyone around them so that they can "abuse" them and "trick" them ??? like what

Stpd is reading through these asks and for the first time seeing your thought structures and patterns represented/replicated. What a weird feeling! It's accurate right down to the specific details sometimes too!

Non-cluster A people, y’all need to start recognizing that our PDs don’t make us “crazy”.
Schizoids? Their indifference and disinterest doesn’t make them crazy, nor does their flattened affect or lack of pleasure. Just because them not wanting to do something that doesn’t bring them joy for you doesn’t make them bad people or “weirdos”.
Schizotypals? Their unusual thoughts and mannerisms doesn’t make them crazy, nor does their lack of close confidants or general fear. Them doing what they feel is right is normal. Your beliefs are your realities, so don’t try and make schizotypals out to be the bad guys because theirs are odd compared to others.
Paranoids? Our mistrust doesn’t mean we’re crazy, nor does our self-preservation or self-defense. If the world was out to get you, you would be on edge too. Stop calling us burdensome because we have a normal human response to something thats abnormal to the average person.
Being schizoid doesn’t make you crazy. Being schizotypal doesn’t make you crazy. Being paranoid doesn’t make you crazy. Being cluster a doesn’t make you crazy. Being schizospec doesn’t make you crazy. We are not crazy.

Respect psychotic folk!!!
respect psychotic folk by not assuming they're automatically dangerous or hostile.
respect psychotic folk by not feeding into and/or confirming their delusions/hallucinations.
respect psychotic folk by not calling strangers "delusional" when they disagree with you.
respect psychotic folk by not pseudo-diagnosing criminals as psychotic with barely any evidence.
respect psychotic folk by not interacting with "schizoposting" posted by non-schizo specs.
respect psychotic folk by not showing them potentially paranoia-triggering memes.
respect psychotic folk by not interacting with memes that make fun of the psychotic experience.
respect psychotic folk by realizing that none of the things listed are too much to ask for, and that it takes no effort from your side to not be sanist.

The thing is that if there was any positive resources for Personality Disorders, we would be able to get better. Instead, if we look up “narcissist help”, articles come up with “how to destroy a narcissist” and “they’re self absorbed, entitled and manipulative”. You look up your disorder and you just get things that articles on how other people can destroy your mental health, just because you have your condition, because of the trauma that caused you to have this personality disorder. It’s like they don’t want us to get better, they just want us to know how we’re horrible. They need people to demonise us, they want us to be destroyed. They make sure that everything hurts us. They expect us to recover then stigmatise the things we are trying to fix. That doesn’t convince us to get better, that convinces us to become the worst version of ourselves.
