"The partners for your project will be posted on the board at the beginning of tomorrow's class," Mr. Aizawa drawled in a tired voice, as usual. You wondered if he got any sleep, ever. The class collectively gathered their things and got up from their seats.
With your things in your bag, you walked out of the school and to the local coffee shop nearby, since you and Mina had planned for a day together after school. She had another class before she was done, so you grabbed out your laptop and started looking at possible topics for your research project. It was a National History Day project, except your teacher had to make it mandatory. And of course, you couldn't even choose your partners. 'I just hope I get a good partner,' you thought.
This year's theme for the project was "Turning Points in History", so a lot of major events that had a lot of evidence would be pretty good. You started to write out a list of events that would be good, when Mina walked through the door and into the shop.
"Mina!" You called out to her, getting up to give her a hug. You both have been super busy this school year, so it always feels great when you get to see each other after a while. In the embrace, you could tell she smelled like bubblegum, her favorite perfume. She wore white dress pants with a pink blouse, and her hair was down. She is one of the most fashionable people you know, and always lives up to that.
"You look so good today!" You told her, gesturing at her outfit.
"Thank you! You do too!" she said. Your outfit was not at nice as hers - just some lighter jeans with a long pink sweater on. It was funny that you were matching, without coordinating at all.
You waved her over to the table you were at, a smaller booth in the back of the shop. It was cute, and had multiple like this one - closed off on 3 sides, cute small pillows on the booth seats, and a large lamp hanging overhead. It was actually a really nice place to study.
You two sat down, and you closed your laptop as you moved back to where you were sitting.
"So how have you been? Is there any new tea?" Mina asked, a smirk poking at her lips.
"I don't know," you said. "Nothing new with people right now, thank goodness." Your luck with drama was not always the best, as it usually was more negative.  Thankfully, though, there hasn't been much drama at all, so it's been good so far, and you told her this.
"There is this huge project we have to do for my history class, and the partners are assigned. I just hope I get someone good for that."
"Well, that's good," she said, her smile sweet. "I hope that any drama that comes your way is good drama that you can tell me about, and I hope your partner is who you hope it is," she said, and her sweet smile quickly became a smirk. You both laughed.
There wasn't anyone on your mind that came up at her comment, but you hoped that soon someone could fill that void.
The next class finally rolled around, and so the partners were posted on the board at the beginning of class. Since everyone was already crowded around the paper, you decided to set down your things and then come back. You maneuvered your way around the people that were done looking at it, and found yourself in front of the paper. You scrolled down the list of names.
Denki Kaminari, Sero Hanta
Bakugo Katsuki, Izuku Midoriya
Yn/Ln, Eijiro Kirishima
Kyoka Jiro, Momo Yaoyurozu
You didnt look much after that, since you saw your own name. If you were being completely honest, you didn't know a lot of these people name-to-face. You would have to find Kirishima, whoever that was. The hope that they were someone good still remained in the back of your mind as you looked around the classroom, walking back to your seat.
Once Mr. Aizawa started calling out attendance, an idea popped up in your head. You would have to pay attention to figure out who Kirishima was, especially since they would be one of the first ones to get called. A few moments passed until you finally heard Mr. Aizawa call out their name. You looked around the room to find that the person who responded was a bright red-haired guy towards the back of the class.
You realized you would have to talk to him after class, and your anxiety shot up. 'I need to push through this and just talk to him,' you thought to yourself. Calming yourself, you took out your laptop to take some notes on the requirements for the project. You didn't want to look, but you hoped that he was taking some notes of his own at least.
After you made a whole rubric and watched a few videos, you felt more prepared about the requirements.
"The next few classes will be structured so that you are learning about National History Day and the requirements for the project, because apparently I have to show you those. Also that way you aren't learning anything new while also trying to do this entire project," Mr. Aizawa stated, his tone laced with boredom and fatigue. Contrastingly, his statement brought a few smiles to the students. Class time for a project would be a great way to get ahead on it.
Tentatively, you raised your hand.
"Yes, Ms. L/N?" Mr. Aizawa asked.
"I was wondering if we would be able to move closer to our partners so that we could use this time to work with them?" you asked, your voice a lot quieter than it normally was.
"Yes, you may," he answered. "As long as you are still quiet and not making too much noise. This is supposed to be a lecture class, so it's supposed to be quiet except for me, but I'm nice today."
A nice smile was brought to your lips, despite the anxious butterflies flitting around in your stomach. You snuck a glance back up at Kirishima, and found that he was looking at you as well. Quickly you turned away, your cheeks flushing red. You realized that you needed to talk to him, though, and turned back around.
"Do you want me to move up there?" you mouthed at him. He gave you a thumbs up and a smile in response.
"Okay, you may get started," Mr. Aizawa told the class. You packed up your things other than your open laptop and got up from your seat to move closer to Kirishima.
"Hi," you said as you placed your laptop down in the seat next to him.
"Hi," he replied. Out of the corner of your eye you saw that he was looking you up and down. Your skin erupted with goosebumps, and you set down your bag behind the seat. You pulled the chair next to him out and sat down, re-logging into your laptop.
"Do you know what topic you want to do?" you asked Kirishima, turning to him. On your laptop was open the list of different topics you thought might be good.
"Right to business, huh?" he chuckled, taking a glance at your laptop. You laughed with him.
"Well, we have the time now, I'd rather use it and have to work less outside of class," you explained.
"That's... valid," he decided. "I wasn't quite sure yet, was there anything you had in mind?"
"Well..." you began.
The two of you ended up going with the Civil Rights Movement, which wasn't exactly the least common topic, but it was perfect for the theme of the project and you had decided that you were going to make the best presentation you could possibly make. Soon, though, the clock was close to the time the bell rang, and so you had decided to wrap up.
"Since we're partners for this project, do you wanna work on it outside of class? This might be the only class time we have to work on it," you told him.
"Yeah, that's fine," Kirishima said.
"Okay great," you paused, opening your phone. "Do you wanna put your number in and I can text you?"
"Yeah, sure," he said, taking your phone from your hand offering it to him. Quickly he typed in his number and his name, and then handed back your phone. It wasn't a moment too soon, either, because the bell rang right then.
"Awesome, thank you!" Closing your laptop and putting it in your bag, you shot a sweet smile at Kirishima. This time, he smiled back.
The walk back to your place wasn't that bad, and with his smile in your mind, you felt like you were back in no time.
That night you couldn't sleep. Turning over, you checked the clock, and it read:
1:03
You groaned as you turned back over. You had been doing so all night, and you were tired of it. You turned on your phone to see if you had any notifications. There weren't.
'Oh shoot,' you said aloud in the dark. Of course there weren't going to be any notifications. First of all, it was 1AM, and second of all, you were the one who had his number. Not the other way around. You went to contacts and found his name. You clicked on the info button and went to message.
'Hey, it's Y/N - can't sleep so I figured I'd text you even if you aren't up - if you see this, I was wondering if you are free tomorrow after class to work together for a bit on our project? If not it's fine, just let me know. Thanks!' You sat there with the message in the draft box, not yet sent. Finally, your 1AM self decided that it would be a great idea and sent the message. You closed the app and turned off your phone, setting it down on the nightstand next to you. Turning over once again, you closed your eyes and tried to sleep. 23 minutes later, you received a message. You grabbed your phone off of the nightstand to open a text from Kirishima:
'Yeah, of course - I have practice but I am definitely free after that. Couldn't sleep either btw' Kirishima responded.
The butterflies came out of their cocoons in your stomach at his response. You tried to calm the butterflies as you responded, but it was tough when you were trying to schedule studying with him.
'Okay, when does practice end for you?' you asked.
You saw the typing bubble pop up after he read your question.
'Around 7:30' he answered.
'Jeez, that's kinda late' you replied. 7:30 would be around dinner, possibly after depending on when you made it.
'Yeah, if you're cool with that?' he asked.
Probably making a bad decision, you replied: 'Yeah, sure - my place'
'Ok cool' he answered quickly.
':)' Ending the conversation, you sent an emoji, put your phone down, and went to attempt to sleep again.
The next day went by extremely slow.
You weren't exactly happy about the late study time, but you weren't exactly opposed, either. Throughout the day, though, you watched as the time ticked by, taking as long as it possibly could, it seems. Your classes never seemed to end, the assignments and lectures dragged on and didn't help to pass the time, either. Finally, though, you were able to pack up your things and get back to your place. On your way home, you texted Kirishima your address. He probably wouldn't see it, but it will be there when he's done with practice.
When you got home, you rewrote your notes from your classes and got started on a few papers and assignments. Once you were done, you got started on making dinner, which was around 7. You weren't exactly the best cook, so it took you a lot longer to make things, but you got it done.
You had started the sauce for spaghetti, when you heard the doorbell ring. Your roomates wouldn't be home tonight, since they were going to a party. Expecting only one person to be at the door, you walked over and opened it.
There he was. Kirishima. And he was... wet?
"Sorry I'm late, I had to shower after practice," he said. "Took me a bit longer than I wanted to."
Quickly you glanced over at the clock to see what time it was. Chuckling, you said, "It's not even 8 yet."
"Oh, shit, my clocks run a bit fast. Forgot about that," he replied sheepishly.
"That's okay," you said, moving aside so he could step through. As he did, you took your split second of a chance to glance at him up and down. He was dressed comfortably (you couldn't blame him, he was just coming from practice) in sweatpants and a black t-shirt. The t-shirt was school merch, with the logo printed large on the front.
He walked in enough to close the door, so once you did, you started walking back to the kitchen where you were finishing up making dinner.
"You can sit down in here if you want, you don't have to be a lurker," you told him, chuckling. "None of the girls are gonna be home tonight, so we have some privacy."
"Oh, sorry," he said. "I didn't want to intrude."
"That's fine, you're in here now, so you might as well get comfortable. Plus, I'm almost done with spaghetti if you want some," you offered.
"I might take you up on that offer," he said. While you stirred the sauce, you could hear him behind you sitting in one of the seats at the counter. Your laptop and a few paper sources were also over on the counter.
A few minutes later, the sauce was done, and the noodles were now in the strainer in the sink.
"How much do you want?" you asked Kirishima.
"I can get it," he said. "I don't want to take too much."
"Okay," you said, grabbing out plates from the cabinet. You left the door open so that he could grab one too, and you went to grab your own food.
You sat down at the counter where your laptop was, and when he came and sat down next to you, he said, "Wow, this looks really good y/n. Thank you."
"Of course," you replied.
Since it was already late, the study session went by pretty fast. The two of you were getting a lot of work done.
When you took a pause, you glanced over at the clock, which read: 11:24
"Oh my gosh, you need to get back and get some sleep!" you exclaimed, not realizing how long you had been working for. "We have been working for way too long!"
"It's fine, no worries," he reassured you. "You do too, though, okay?" His gaze was soft as he looked at your panicked face. He must have been tired after almost 3 hours of work, plus it being after practice. This was normal for you, but you didn't know if it was for him. His soft gaze had to have been from tiredness, you told yourself, trying to push the butterflies and blush away.
"Okay, I will, but you need to get home first." You told him.
"Alright," he decided.
Even though his room was within walking distance from yours, you drove him home (because it was so late, you told yourself. Definitely not because you like him). In the walk back to his room from your car, you both listened to the light sounds of the night. It was sweet and calming after studying for so long.
"Thanks for coming over and working with me," you told Kirishima.
"Thank you for inviting me, and your spaghetti was great, too," he told you.
"Definitely. We should do this again," you suggested.
"For sure. Maybe my place next time?" he asked.
"Yeah, sure."
"Awesome. I'll text you."
His last glance at you of the night was one where he was smiling, and it filled you up with a warmth inside that you couldn't get rid of all the way home. That warmth helped you to sleep better than you had most nights at school yet.
3 weeks later and almost completely done with your project, you closed your laptop for the night. Kirishima was next to you, finishing up his last bit he needed for the presentation.
"This Friday was a bit rough, huh?" Kirishima asked you.
"Yeah, definitely. Classes lately have not been fun," you replied, a small smile sneaking onto your face.
"Glad we're almost done, though - this project will definitely be worth it once we're entirely finished," he commented.
"I did enjoy spending this time together, though," you said, trying to bring a positive aspect back to the topic.
"Same, I'm really glad we're partners," Kirishima said, his face flushing a pink where normally you never saw that. He turned away quickly, and you did too, smiling a bit at his blush.
Tonight you were dressed a bit nicer, since you were coming from dinner with an old friend, and you decided not to change. He was dressed nicer too, but you weren't quite sure why. It was definitely getting to you though, since normally you both dressed casual when you studied together.
"Hey," he said, clearing his throat. "Um, so normally I would ask if you wanted to study sometime this weekend, but since we're almost done with the project, would you like to go on a date with me instead?"
Immediately your heart swelled, suddenly your stomach was filled with hundreds of flitting butterflies and your face was hot, blush lighting up your face with red.
"Yes, I would love to," you said, the wave of joy finally breaking with a huge ecstatic smile on your face.
Kirishima's face lit up with red, almost as bright as his fiery hair. He proceeded to celebrate by jumping into the air as high as he could, pumping his fists in the air.
"YES! Okay, awesome!" He almost yelled, his excitement making you giggle.
"Okay, I'll pick you up tomorrow, then?"
"Yes, I'm free tomorrow so that should be okay," you told him, a cheesy grin stuck on your face. "Text me any other details I might need, okay?"
"Okay, awesome," he replied, his excitement still clearly showing on his face, also still bright red as well.
Soon after that he drove home, and when he stepped out the door to leave, you closed the door and pressed your back against it, standing there for a minute with a wild grin. Your emotions were running high, and you stepped away from the door only to jump around cheering in your front hallway for a bit.
The next day was the longest you have ever been through. He texted you in the morning that he was going to pick you up at 6, and that you could dress casual (because you asked him what you needed to wear). However, after waking up at 8 with a free day ahead of you, you didn't know what to do with yourself. Somehow, though, you managed to fill your day (partly because you were in a call with Mina half the morning, describing the situation and her giving you advice) and you were ready by 5:30 for Kirishima to arrive. You had decided to wear a dressier t-shirt with leggings.
Before 6:00 rolled around, Kirishima got to your place and walked up to your door, and before he got to knock on it (he took a second to hype himself up before he knocked on your door), you opened it and saw him standing there in a cute white shirt with black pants on. The outfit accentuated his figure well, and you could tell he was strong, and his muscles were toned. His bright red hair was fluffy, like he normally has it, and he donned a cute smile as he checked you out as well.
"Wow... you look really pretty," he said, blush creeping onto his cheeks. Your eyes were planted on his, and you could see he couldnt take his off of your shirt, which was a low, V-cut shirt and helped to show off your cleavage a bit.
You laughed as you replied, "Thank you, you do too."
This finally brought his eyes back up to your face, and the blush that was creeping up just onto his cheeks now covered his entire face as he realized he was totally caught.
"I'm sorry, you just... your outfit is- it's-" he stuttered, trying to explain himself.
"It's okay, I'm the one who wore the outfit," you told him. "Come on, take me where you want to, Kiri," you walked out the door and past him.
After a second he followed you back to his car, and he unlocked it so you both could get in.
The ride there wasn't very long, so you only got through a bit of small talk before you saw he was taking you to a mini-put course. You smiled as the memories of the last few times you had gone mini-putting, and you thought it was very cute that it would also be your first date with Kirishima.
The man who checked the two of you in was old, and he could tell that you were on a date together. He had a very dopey smile on while you both got putters and balls, and when you were walking out the door, he called, "Have fun, you lovebirds!" When the door shut, both of your faces were bright red, but you looked at each other and burst out into laughter.
Still laughing, you walked over to the first hole. This one was probably the easiest, being the most straightforward with only a few obstacles. After that, though, it only got harder.
The theme of the place was cute - it was a bit plain, being that it was outdoors-themed, with a few water features, but it was cute and it was fun. There were only a couple other people there, one group being a cute older couple that was almost done by the time you and Kirishima had started, and the other group being a small family that was about mid-way through the course. It was nice, though, because it meant that the two of you could go at your own pace, and talk about the things you wanted to, and just have fun together without any interruptions.
At each hole, you tried to get Kiri to go first so that you could stand behind him and sneak a few looks. Sometimes it worked, but other times he would catch you and laugh, or he would refuse (so that he could do the same thing, even though you definitely caught him more times than he caught you).
The evening was filled with laughter, teasing, and fun, and in the end, you both tied. At the last hole, Kirishima was in the lead by 1, and his first putt missed the hole by inches. He ended with 2 on the last hole. When your last turn came up, you gave it your best shot, even though you thought you weren't going to win. Your ball ended up making it in one shot, and when you went to pick up your ball out of the hole, Kirishima was there, his mouth wide open in shock. In the adrenaline of your comeback, you walked over to him.
"Cat's game," you whispered in his ear, planted a quick kiss on his cheek, and gently closed his jaw as you did so.
Quickly you walked back into the check-in building, the heat in your cheeks rising extremely fast after that. You put back your ball and putter, told the older man that you would be right back, and rushed to the restroom. While you were in there, you took a second and washed your hands, calming yourself down.
You hadn't bothered to see if Kirishima followed you into the building, so when he burst into the bathroom, you were only half shocked. The shock only hit you when you turned around, your back to the sink, and he grabs your hips.
"Can I kiss you?" He asks, his face red with blush, his voice deep, but a little desperate.
"Yes," you responded, your voice shaky with shock and emotion. The clash of his lips against yours was electric, sparking throughout your body. One of his hands reaches up to your cheek, while the other stays at your hip. Slowly, the one at your hip moves from its position towards your stomach, where he slides his hand underneath your shirt and up, his thumb brushing against the bottom of your cleavage. At the same time, he moves his lips from yours and towards your jaw, moving down to your neck. He finds your sweet spot and begins to suck, earning a small moan from you.
"Kiri.." you start, but trail off when he continues.
"Don't worry, no one's coming," he says, trying to reassure you.
"Kiri, no," you pause, making him stop. "I want you, and I want more, I just don't want it here, in this bathroom at a mini-putt-course."
His bright red eyes change from hurt to confusion, to bright again when you tell him this.
"Ohhh," he says, pulling away gently. "Shoot, and I still have to pay for the date, too. Good idea," he commends you, which earns a laughing smile from you both.
Thankfully, when you leave the bathroom, the old man is turned around, reading something. Together, you walk up to the counter. Kiri pays for the time at the course, and together again you walk out and to his car.
When you sit down, Kiri takes a second before he starts the car to move your hair out of your face and behind your ear. The contact is filled with electricity, and makes you shiver, only being able to hope he didn't notice. After putting the car into drive and pulling out of the parking lot, he puts his hand on your thigh, and you shiver even worse than you did seconds ago, goosebumps lighting up your skin. Discreetly, you try and close your knees to hide the heat pooling between your legs. You realize it doesn't quite work, though, when you see his smirk, and he proceeds to move his hand a bit further up.
Once you get to his place, he moves his hand from your thigh to put the car in park, and you immediately miss the contact. You don't have to miss it for long, though, when you get inside.
The door barely closes before his hands and his lips are on you again, making your skin light up with electricity. He starts to suck on your sweet spot again, which also earns another moan from you. You can barely get out the next few words, he's making you feel so good already.
"Kiri.." you try to tell him. This time it works - his head perks up, ready to listen to you.
"Kiri, where is your room?"
The simple question ignites a fire in his eyes, lust being the fuel. Quickly and easily, he picks you up so that he is holding you by your thighs. You wrap your legs around his waist and your arms around his neck to help him, and he takes you to his room.
Gently, he places you on the bed, where you take a breath before you kiss him again, pulling him down on top of you. He takes this and moves his hand onto you again, one on the bed by your head, the other carefully placed against your stomach. Your hands are in his hair, tugging and pulling it, showing him how much more you want.
Once again, he moves his hand up and under the bottom of your shirt, just underneath the cup of your bra, his thumb barely brushing it. The slight touch sparks electricity through your body, and it pools in your core.
You push back at his collar, and he lets you sit up enough to take off your shirt. His eyes are on you the whole time, and once you get it off, his jaw drops once more.
"Holy shit, you're beautiful," he says, still not taking his eyes off of you.
"Hold on a minute, though," he continues, once you reach out towards his collar again. "Are you sure you want this?"
The question brings back that warmth he shared from his smile weeks ago, and it was something even as simple as asking for consent. That warmth ensured that the fire burning inside of you right now would never go out.
"Kiri, I have wanted you since the first day we became partners for that project," you stated. "Yes, I am sure I want this."
"Okay, good, because I have, too," he says, and as you finally pull him down onto you, at the last second you flip him over so that he is on the bed and you're on top.
He grins wildly as you start unbuttoning his pants, and he helps you by taking off his shirt and tossing it to the side.
You pull down his boxers to reveal his erection, and his huge cock. Your core throbs at the sight, and you fight the urge to lick your lips, failing miserably.
When you place your lips around the tip of his length, Kiri throws his head back with a loud moan. Slowly, you start to bob your head up and down, sucking gently as you did. Your hand stroked the rest of him as well, and you could tell the sensation was doing lots of things to Kirishima. He was moaning so loud, you were sure the neighbors could hear, but you didn't want to stop. Kiri tried (and failed) not to thrust up into your throat, but you didn't mind it too much.
"Im.. so close-" he said, just a few seconds before you felt his white hot release in your mouth. When you were sure you had sucked him dry, you swallowed, earning yourself another groan and a wild grin from Kirishima.
"My turn," he said. He helps you to unclasp your bra, your cleavage falling out and bouncing in front of his face. Quickly he flipped you over, so that you were underneath him, your back against the bed. Contrastingly slow, he pulled your leggings down your legs, revealing your underwear and soaking pussy.
"Wow, all for me?" He started, pulling aside your underwear and rubbing a single finger through your folds. This immediately follows by a groan from you.
"Yes- Kiri, all for- for you," you just barely manage to stutter out once he puts that finger inside of you and starts to pump it in and out. The action makes you bite your lip, trying to stop the loud moans escaping you.
When Kiri sees this, he grabs your chin and pulls it to face him, still not stopping his fingers inside of you.
"Don't hide your voice, I want to hear every single sound you make tonight. And no one is going to hear but me," he says, and you let go, loud moans breaking free from your lips.
"Atta girl," he praises, which only goes down to your pussy, where he adds another finger inside of you now. He hits your G-spot every time, curling his fingers just so that he can get it. And he definitely does - you were close to your release.
"Kiri-" you warn, feeling the string of ecstacy being pulled tight, about to snap. "Don't stop-"
You gasp as your orgasm hits you like a waterfall, ecstacy and electricity rushing through you as that string snaps. You cum on his fingers, the stringy substance coating his fingers thickly. You ride your orgasm out on his fingers, and once you're done, he puts his fingers in his mouth and tastes your sweet release.
"You taste so fucking sweet," he praises you. You're still panting from your orgasm off his fingers, and it doesn't help when he pulls your underwear off your hips, tosses it to the floor, and pushes your legs up so that your knees are almost touching your shoulders.
He lines up his cock with your entrance, and your eyes widen as you realize you are about to take his monster of a cock inside you. He passes through your folds a few times before he slowly enters you, one inch at a time. He gets through just the tip before he stops so that you can adjust to the pleasant burn he gives you. Once you're adjusted well, he pushes inside of you just an inch further. He pushes down to the hilt inside of you, and you gasp again as his dick hits your cervix easily.
You adjust to the burn quickly, and thankfully because he begins to pump in and out of you, earning multiple pornographic moans from you. You can feel the buildup of pressure already, building up like a wall about to crash.
Kirishima drives into your pussy, moans releasing from both of you as you get closer to your high. His hands roam your body, one cupping and kneadind your breast and nipple, the other holding onto your waist.
He fucks into you harder and harder, faster and faster, until you can feel the cracks in the wall, a dam about to burst. Your moans mesh together as you both reach your high simultaneously. The dam breaks, erupting as his does too, resulting in a mix of his and your release together at the base of his cock, still hilt deep inside of you. Your legs shake from your release, and the last few pumps of your orgasms fall out of you both.
You lay on the bed in ecstacy as Kirishima pulls out of your ruined pussy, gets up from you and goes to the bathroom to cleanup. He comes back with a towel for you, and helps you to clean up the mess that is the two of you. Once he is done, he puts your previously discarded clothes into the hamper, and gives you a pair of shorts and a too-big shirt for you to wear, and he changes into a loose shirt and boxers as well. He helps you change, and when the two of you are done, he climbs into the bed next to you and places a kiss on your forehead.
"So, does this mean I'm your boyfriend now?" He whispers. You turn around and push his forehead lightly back to play with him.
"I think we need to play another game to determine that," you reply, a coy smile playing at your lips, despite recent events.
"Or..." Kiri trails off, trying to think of a comeback or an easier situation.
"Or... what?" You tease him, giggling as you watch his eyes light up with an idea.
"Or I could just fuck you again, except harder," he states, and this time you can't tell if he's serious or not.
"Harder?" You whisper, thinking about how he could possibly do that after what he did tonight.
"Yeah, although we might have to wait until the morning to do that, cause then you can walk," he says, his tone nothing but factual. He places one last kiss on your cheek this time, spooning you in the bed. The kiss makes the warmth inside of you burn brighter, never to go out again.

Was inspired by this scene from RWBY. dividers
You have already adjusted to your life in this world. It was hard to know if this is what you enjoyed or not but there was much less violence and a lot more excitement and love…You figured the mundane life suited you better. You became interested in the culture of Japan, you taught yourself its current traditions and you learned to be an elementary school teacher. No idea of why you were resurrected in this modern age came to your mind, but all you could do was live. Although, for years upon years, you felt like something was missing, you couldn’t quite put your finger on it.
Just when that feeling was beginning to fade, you met a particular boy. You stood in the spring rain with your transparent umbrella, dressed in business casual as you helped your young, toddler students cross the busy street. Silently, you desperately tried to shield the babies from the harsh rain and cold air. The children scattered, going on their way back home using the routes you taught them so that they could be fast.
“Um, excuse me…?”
It was the boy you had seen before. He was young, probably a teenager. You noticed him stalking you for a bit now. What could he have wanted from you?
His hair was an unnatural color, maybe dyed. His uniform wasn’t anything like you had seen before and on his feet were painfully red shoes that hurt your eyes. Truly the sense of style for a young boy in this age fashion.
“Yes?” You turned around to look at the boy. He was visibly nervous but you tried to comfort him with a welcoming smile. As you examined him, you got a sense of familiarity.
“Are you….(y/n)?”
You blinked for a moment. Could this have been an older sibling of one of your students?
“I am.” You replied. “Is there…something you want to speak to me about?” You tilted your head and he became increasingly restless under your watchful eyes. “Can we talk in private?” The boy asked politely. You looked down at your watch. It seemed you had time before you needed to go home to prepare your lesson for the next day of teaching.
You humored the boy. The two of you walked to a nearby park where he told you his name and his occupation. He told you why he was going to school. If what he was told was true, you should already know about curses and sorcerers. He also asked you questions.
Yuuji asked things like if you had a family. What have you been doing with your time? But then he asked who you were and if you loved anyone.
You found it rather inappropriate that someone so young and strange to you was asking about your personal life.
Now, the two of you sat on the bench. The rain eased to a drizzle and you began to enjoy the little time you had left with the boy. “Why does who I may love matter to a boy like you? You should be into girls your own age.” You joked, closing your umbrella and leaning it against the edge of your wooden seat. Yuuji blushed at your comment and raised his hands before shouting. “N-No, it’s not like that! I was asking f-for a friend!”
“A friend?” You repeated, raising your eyebrow slightly. You couldn’t recall anyone who wouldn’t be interested in you. “Well, I am going to need to get going.” You told him. “Dinner’s calling me and I have to grade my student’s tests.” You smiled kindly, beginning to stand before the boy suddenly stopped you. He grabbed the sleeve of your attire before uttering:
“Are you really the wife of Ryomen Sukuna?”
Your mouth opened to speak. You felt the world stop and it was like you couldn’t feel the rain on your skin anymore. That was a name you haven’t heard forever.
“Who told you that name?”  Your ability to make Yuuji feel calm was soon diminishing. Yuuji didn’t reply at first. His eyes darted from you and often looked to the right as if he were in thought. He would hold his head but never made an effort to mention why he was behaving so erratically.
“I guess that means you are her.”
Your face eased. “So, I assume that you have revealed yourself to me because you plan to kill me like what happened hundreds of years ago or so?” You tilted your head before giving him a closed-eyed smile. “Huh?? Oh, N-No, of course not. My sensei doesn’t even know I’m here.”
“Then…who sent you?” You sat back down by Yuuji. The boy didn’t answer you. His gaze broke from yours. “Yeah, Yeah, I’m getting to that!” He muttered but rather loudly. The boy didn’t seem to be talking to you.
He then turned his full attention to you again. “How did you meet Sukuna?” His question was innocent but it held unimaginable weight. “First,” You raised a finger. “How do you know that name?”
Yuuji shoved his hands into his pockets. “School.” He lied…half lied.
“They’re teaching you about him at your school…? Gods…” You sighed softly. “I knew Sukuna a long time ago but my story goes beyond him. I’m much older than him, you see.” You looked down at your black pumps. It was expected of you to wear this for your job. You suddenly felt the pressure of walking in them all day and kicked them off just a bit.
“Older?”
You nodded. “I was actually the first woman. I was the first wife of Adam. You know who that is?” You broke your gaze with the ground to see that the boy was staring at you rather intently. Was he even listening? He wasn’t even blinking. “Yuuji.” You called, ripping him from his daydream.
“H-Huh? Oh, Adam? Um…” He thought for a moment before shaking his head. You smiled. “It’s okay if you don’t. It’s more of a Western tale…” Your manicured nails dug into the soft wooden chair. “Adam was a jerk.” The frown you held was small but behind it was an anger that only the Gods could fathom.
The boy’s ears perked up. “Oh, like Adam and Eve! You’re Eve!” He looked as if he had hit the lottery with a guess that good. But…
You laughed again. “No. Eve came after me. She was the more obedient wife. I’m often erased from history.” Your posture eased and you leaned your back against the bench. “Ryomen Sukuna was the only man that ever loved me. And that I loved back.” Your heart rate quickened thinking of your lover. “You humans know him as a horrible threat…which is true.”
“But I was a horrible person too. We were horrible together…my Ryomen.” You said his name so breathlessly. It was so long ago but you replayed your favorite moments with him. There was no harm in talking about Sukuna, right? He was long gone so this boy’s superiors couldn’t have been targeting you for any reason. You enjoyed pretending to be a human. This wouldn’t be a problem, right?
Yuuji didn’t say a word. He hid his eyes from you, sinking further into his jacket. Without saying much of anything, you effortlessly humanized Sukuna. It didn’t make the boy feel any less hostile toward the King of Curses but it did give him insight into what kind of person he was. He had a soft spot for at least one person. Without warning, he sat up straight. “Um…would you say you still loved him?”
Normally, you would be put off by such a question, but you were already deep in this conversation. Your eyes wandered to the people entering the park here and there. They pushed their kids in strollers and walked their dogs. The sound of the cars driving behind you was painstakingly loud as you tried to think of the past. You answered. “Yes, I do.”
Suddenly, Yuuji erupted with activity. The way he pulled his hood over his head and turned away from you concerned you. “Are you alright, sweetheart?” You leaned over going to rest a hand on your shoulder when you heard muffled speaking. “Yuuji—”
“I-It’s nothing! ‘Just cold, sorry!” He blurted out, causing you to recoil back. “I see…”You replied, going back into your place. “I wonder what ever happened to Ryomen.” You looked down at your watch. It was time for you to go now.
“I know where Sukuna is.”
“What?” The corner of your mouth instinctively raised into a smirk but your eyes were wide as saucers. “I didn’t peg you as a prankster but I suppose I should’ve expected it.” Your tenseness eased, before shutting your eyes and laughing to yourself. Sukuna? Here? No, that surely wasn’t true. The world would be in ruin if he were.
“I’m serious!” Yuuji then proceeded to explain to you his unique situation that involved him swallowing your lover’s fingers and, in turn, bonding them together. You still didn’t know what to believe. It almost made you angry…you somehow felt that perhaps, sorcerers were watching you, waiting to see if you’d break your masquerade as a human if they convinced you that he was alive.
You clenched the handle of your umbrella as it lay beside you. “If Sukuna is really inside of your body, then let me speak to him.” You were….half serious. You wanted so badly to just hear his voice again, even if he were saying something vulgar or pure evil. Or to just know if this was all a trick. Yuuji rubbed the nape of his neck. “I can’t really do that. Not in public, he might—”
“He won’t.” You interrupted. “I’ll make sure he won’t do anything.”
Yuuji had no choice but to trust you. For the last day, he’s had Sukuna yelling at him so loudly and often that he wasn’t able to tune it out like always. For a moment, Yuuji stopped resisting Sukuna’s pull on him, allowing the curse to take over his body. There was a familiar set of markings that appeared on his body and face. The amount of joy, confusion, and concern that filled your body was undeniable.
Although your Ryomen Sukuna was in front of you, trapped inside the body of a boy, you felt like it was a trick. Maybe it wasn’t sorcerers casting a spell on your mind. Perhaps it was God punishing you one last time or it was Adam trying to take one last jab at you before you experienced true death.
Once you laid eyes upon Sukuna, it still looked as if Yuuji had control. His eyes were like that of a dear in headlights while his face was full of admiration.
“Ryomen?” You called his name, causing the vessel he was in to flinch. His eyes then turned serpent-like. They were eyes you knew very well.
“It seems as though you have been resurrected.” He rested his head on his palm, those same eyes wandering your body, staring shamelessly at your chest area and thighs. “But you can never be too sure. How do I know you’re real?” He fidgeted more in his seat—more than Yuuji actually. He tapped his foot on the ground, drummed his fingers on his leg, and even sank his nails into his jawline out of anticipation.
The question caused you to blink. “You’re asking me if I’m real—?”
“Hurry. You have—” His gaze shifted downward for a brief moment before it went back to you. “—less than 60 seconds. If you can’t answer me, I’ll kill you and be done with it. Tell me what I said to you the first time we met. Only I and the real (y/n) know of this.”
Your mouth curled into a pleasant smile. You turned your hips towards him. “I’m not scared of a little monster like you.” You locked eyes with him. “When I met Ryomen, the first words to me were ‘You are the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.’ And I said, ‘I think the Gods would disagree.’ He laughed in a way I would never forget before telling me: ‘Give me a son and I’ll give you the world.’”
Sukuna was unmoving. His antics completely stopped and he listened. So silent…it was unlike him. You continued.
“I was devastated when he asked that of me. I said ‘I can not have a child. My womb is corrupt.’ And so he vowed to make—”
“Shit, it really is you.” The words pour out of his mouth like a waterfall. “It’s been so long. I thought I would never see you again. What are you doing living a mundane life with mortal scum?!” He cursed and threw out his insults, not even caring about the poor humans who walked by and were forced to listen to him. You smiled attractively. “I kinda like this ‘scum’” You replied, mimicking his voice so well you sounded like a female version of him.
“What happened to your body? Why are you burrowed away inside of a child?” Your head tilted with curiosity. His vessel was much smaller than before although, it was nice seeing what he’d be like as a human and not a monster.
Sukuna parroted the same thing Yuuji did, confirming the truth. The boy ate his finger.
“…but once I return to full power, I’ll make the Gods pay for what they did to you.” He wanted nothing more than to just reach out and touch you. It’s been so long since he’s seen you…since he’s heard your voice. Hundreds and hundreds of years of his consciousness lingered beyond his execution and his only thought was you. Even then, aspects of you had faded in his memory. Where were your horns and claws? Did you even have either of those? You had a sword too? No? Oh, he couldn’t remember but one thing that did stick with him was your presence. Sukuna could track you like a bloodhound and find you at every corner of the earth.
“The Gods wouldn’t care about you, Ryo.” A dry laugh left your lips at his awestruck face. “They don’t even care about me…but Adam—will return. You’ll be good to me and kill him, right?” Your sweet smile turned into a smirk, your eyes turned warm and filled with lust. Sukuna picked up on your subtle cues, his mouth going from slightly agape to a twisted, toothy grin. “I’ll bring you his head, I swear!”
“Hm.” Your eyes lit up with enthusiasm. You couldn’t help but rest your palm on his cheek. Yuuji’s skin was much smoother and softer than Sukuna’s monstrous features. “…and if you objectify me again, I’ll obliterate you.” Your manicured nails grazed his skin, threatening to pierce the vessel’s skin at any moment.
Sukuna was confused—not afraid. He hasn’t wronged you so why are you threatening him? It was then that he noticed your eyes. They glowed red.
That’s right, you were rather observant. His hungry eyes were already sexualizing in every way possible.
“Yes, Ma’am,” Sukuna replied, his wide demonic grin returning to his soft features.  “Ya know, if you want, you can have me right now.”
Your eyes softened before you exhaled. “In that body?” You chuckled. “Maybe when it matures a little.” Your words made his smile fade and his nose scrunch up in disgust. “Who cares how old this vessel is?! It’s ME!”
“And you’re a bit short for my liking.” You fake pouted before letting go of his face. Upon instinct, he rubbed the claw markings you left behind. “I’m still taller than your small ass. You women are so picky with your size kinks.” he spat, rolling his eyes. “Next, you’ll ask me to put the world in your hands. And what do you bring to the table, huh?”
“Myself.” You replied before placing an innocent kiss on his cheek.
“Then, I guess it wouldn’t hurt to stick around.”

“Daaa-ddy.”
Levi startles, looking up. The little girl stood before him, all wide eyes and beaming at him.
“Yes? Shouldn’t you be at school?”
She shrugs, then thrusts out a hair brush and a set of scrunchies. “Do my hair today!” She grins.
Levi is taken aback slightly, not at all expecting such a request. It’s not that he had a bad relationship with his daughter really, if anything Levi spends every second that he can spare with her. But even so, it was so sudden and specific, not to mention she has never asked him to do it before. It was you who helped her get ready.
“Doesn’t mommy usually do that?” He asks slowly. “Is she busy?”
She shakes her head quickly. “I just want you to do it today.” She smiles, holding the brush out to him, waiting for him to take it.
Levi glances at it then looks back up. How could he say no to that?
So, without a word, he motions her to turn around which she follows happily, pulling a stool nearby to sit between Levi’s legs. Levi takes the brush, though slightly hard to hold without his missing fingers, he manages, combing through the black silky strands.
Like his.
Though, his own hair was stranded with gray now, a sign of the long years he had lived. Even Ackermans don’t stay young forever.
But it’s still so strange to him, having her here, right in front of him. He still freezes a little when she smiles at him, watching her with awe. She looked almost exactly identical to him, starting from the shape of her face to the color of her eyes, just the exact shade of the silvery blue that his own eyes hold. But there was a brightness in those eyes that Levi doesn't think he ever had. She was like this little ball of sunshine, always so bright.
And her smile, that came from you.
She was his. Yours. Theirs.
A part of him and a part of you. A whole other human being. A child. A blessing.
It was the hardest at thr beginning. For him to get used to it. Despite the 9 months of pregnancy, it was when he first held her that the realization finally hit him. That she was his daughter. His.
And the moment his eyes locked with the newborn, he knew he was doomed.
That there was nothing he wouldn’t do for this small, small, absolutely tiny person that came to earth no more than half an hour ago. That he had just met.
It was crazy how it only took him only a moment for him to swear his life for her, to become so protective. It was actually ridiculous, how he felt anxious even when it was the nurses holding her, he’d been so rigid, so poised. Even when handing her over to someone else’s arms, he had his hand outstretched because just in case. It took a shit load of convincing from you for him to let Jean and Connie hold her.
It was crazier watching her grow up. Never had he felt this ridiculous amount of pure joy and excitement ever. Only to hear her first words, to watch her take her first steps, holding his hand. He swears it was only yesterday.
His chain of thought was cut off as she started to happily chatter about things. Unlike Levi, she talks. A lot. Levi doesn’t mind, he listens quietly. Every once in a while, inserting a comment.
“I’ve read about you. In the history books. Our teacher taught us.”
“Yeah?” He mumbles, brushing softly. “What’d you learn?”
“They called you humanity’s strongest.” She stumbles on the word a little, which was a bit heavy for her usual vocabulary. She turns around to look at him with awe and wonder, wide eyes asking for confirmation. “That’s so cool!”
He only lets out a small hum in response.
"Will I be as strong as you one day?"
"Sure. You already are." He hopes she never needs to be.
“I saw your picture too. And mommy’s. Also, Uncle Connie used to be bald back then.” She finishes with a giggle, the idea of Connie’s lack of hair amusing her. “You were like a superhero, weren’t you daddy?”
“I wouldn’t shoot that far.” He answers with a small smile.
Back then, Levi had never imagined the idea of having a family. There, caged between the walls, surrounded by those tremendous monsters. When there was no guarantee that you’d come back alive once you’re out there. How could he even think of bringing a child to the world, if he couldn’t even do the least that is to promise their safety?
But now, here she runs and plays outside, without a worry in the world, tirelessly. She doesn’t have to starve like Levi had to, she grows up with only all the good the world has to offer. She doesn’t know the worst of how things could be and Levi hopes she never does. She doesn’t yet understand the role Levi and you had played in creating this world, but she does understand the value of it. She asks questions sometimes, about the wheelchair and the eye and the hand. About your scars and why somedays you can't get yourself from bed. He doesn’t answer. He doesn’t know how to answer. And Levi knows, one day, he’ll have to tell her all of it, life back then and the life he had. But for now, he prays, let her grow up with only love and pureness. Let her see the world in her rose colored glasses. Something he never got to do.
She taps Levi’s leg as he bunches the hair to tie a ponytail. “Do braids.” She says.
“Braids? Don’t you always wear a ponytail?” Levi asks.
“Yes, but,” She tries to explain, stumbling for words. “Tash always pulls by it.”
Tash was one of her classmates, Levi knew from her frustrated rants about him. From what he could gather, neither liked each other much. “Next time he bothers you, you do the thing that I taught you.” He tells her.
“The thing with my hands?” She asked brightly, balling her hands to show him.
“Hey, no beating up kids at school. Levi!” You appear in the doorway, only catching the last bit of the conversation. “Don’t give her ideas. And you,” You look at your daughter who was smiling smugly. “I’ve been looking for you–wait, is Levi doing your hair?” You say, finally noticing and very surprised.
‘Yes!” She replies excitedly, “He’s doing braids! He’s very slow though.”
Levi playfully pats her head. “It’s because you keep moving.” He sighs. “Must you need braids? I’m not sure if I can–”
“Yes.”
Levi was about to say something else until she turned around, giving him the most adorable pout ever, eyes all round and needy, her brows pinched together. “Please?” She asks sweetly.
Well damn.
Levi tries, he really tries. But the word no somehow managed to disappear from his vocabulary, along with all of its synonyms. So he sighs, nodding.
“Levi, I can–” You start.
“It’s okay.” He puts up a hand, stopping you. He doesn’t know much about the process, but he’s spent enough time watching you do her hair. So he thinks he can manage it. “I can do it. Probably.” He says uncertainty.
It was slightly difficult to manage multiple sections of hair when you’re missing two fingers, but even surprising himself, he does manage it, after a few attempts. A little uneven, but works.
"Happy?" He asks her, patting her head.
It was good enough for the girl, who jumped up right after it was finished and cheered happily as an answer to Levi. She jumps to his arms, pulling him by the neck to plant a big smooch in his cheek.
“You're the best.” She beams at him, then running off to grab her bag which was by the door.
“Wow, mommy’s nonexistent now?” You fold your arms in mock offense.
She doesn’t answer, only picks up her bag and runs to hug you full speed, wrapping herself around your knees. “I love you.” She calls out, then turns to Levi. “And I love you too! I'm leaving now!”
Then she was out the door before you could say I love you back.
“Don’t run, you’ll fall.” Levi calls out to her, who was already far out of hearing range.
You closed the door. Then leaned against it, staring at Levi.
Levi looked away, cheeks heating up slightly, noticing the strange way you were staring at him, already knowing what comes after.
“So.” You said.
“So, what?” He said, glancing at you.
“Where'd you learn how to do braids?"
He huffs. "From you. I watched you do it.''
"Really?' It was so cute you could melt.
“Stop looking at me like that.” He grunts. “She’s my girl. I can do her hair sometimes, it’s not that big of a deal.”
“So, I’m not your girl?” You pout, exactly the same expression your daughter made just moments ago. “How come I don't I get braids?”
“I–” Levi starts, then huffing frustratedly. He can’t even say no to his daughter, who was he to say no to the mother? He tries nevertheless.
“I’m not doing it. Stop looking at me like that.”
You did not look away, pouting out your lips more.
“I won’t.”
You blinked, turning your expression sadder.
Levi gives up.
“C’mere.” He sighs.

SAW THE OCTOBER PROMPTS AND KNEW I HAD TO SUBMIT ONE IN
could i do 💰 with my fav boyfriend max verstappen who has just slowly creating a list of everything reader has looked at a little too long or talked about for a couple of minutes. It ranges from tiffany jewelry to chanel dresses to la perla lingerie to gucci perfume to louboutin red bottoms, he knows everything that the reader wants and just one day surprises reader with everything
thank you for requesting!🫶🏽
.
“What…the…fuck.”
Max stood in the middle of your living room—your once empty living room that was now flooded with boxes and bags everywhere you looked—with his hands on his hips and a proud look on his face. And he looked completely unashamed with the scene around him.
“Surprise!” He said it so simply like he had just placed a home cooked meal in front of you, or maybe ran a few errands for you that he knew were a hassle. He was acting like the designer brand labels littering the living room of your apartment were normal, like an everyday occurrence. Though, maybe for Max Verstappen, they were.
“You…what….huh?” You looked at him, confused and baffled and desperate for answers. “What is all this?”
“It’s for you,” he said as he picked up a random bag nearby and handed it towards you, the Chanel logo making you feel a little nauseous. “Though I think people usually call them gifts.”
“This is too much,” you breathed out, your head spinning at the idea of just how much he could have possibly spent on you. At the mere idea of how much money was technically sitting in your far-too-small living room. “This is way too much, Max. I can’t.”
His brows furrowed together. “Why not?”
Your eyes widened. “Is that really a question you’re asking?”
“But it’s all stuff you want,” he pointed out to you.
“You can’t possibly—” Except the boy cut you off as he reached into the Chanel bag he was still holding, taking out a shoe box. And before you could even say anything, he was opening it to show you a pair of black platform heels you remembered vaguely showing him a few weeks back. “Max.”
“You said you wanted them.”
“I said I liked the look of them.”
“Same thing.”
It seemed like every possible object or item you had spent longer than three seconds staring at were currently sitting in your living room at that moment, and Max didn’t see an issue with it. And you knew you shouldn’t be mad at him. Even before everything changed between you and Max, you had made the deal to be the person he splurged on. You agreed to it. You accepted the terms.
But you thought things would change once your relationship changed, when it went from financially beneficial to an actual romance. You thought he knew he didn’t need to do any of this anymore.
“Max,” you started as you tried to step over a pile of boxes, your foot getting caught in the handle of a bag. But before you could stumble, he was reaching out to grab your arms. “Babe, you don’t have to do this.”
“You are making it seem like someone is making me do it against my will,” Max mused, a hint of amusement on his face as his arms wound around your waist.
“I’m your girlfriend, you don’t have to spend money on me like this,” you said to him, your hands interlocking behind his head.
“It’s exactly why I should,” Max scoffed. “You’re my girl. Mine to take care of and spoil and keep happy.”
“Max—”
“Stop saying my name like that, you sound like a school teacher scolding me,” he groaned as he rested his head against your shoulder. Though, something in his chest tightened when he heard you laugh.
“It’s just a lot,” you admitted in a whisper.
“It’s everything you deserve and everything I want to give you,” Max retorted before he slowly lifted his head, his nose brushing against yours. “I’ll calm down but don’t make me give any of it back.”
You sighed, smiling. “Fine.”
“Good, because I don’t know where the receipts are and I’m pretty sure half of it wouldn’t even fit in my car.”
His grin widened as your laugh bounced off the walls of your far-too-small living room.

Vlad finally makes good on his threat and puts Danny into those rich posh school. In Gotham. To retaliate, Danny becomes a cryptid and terrorize the students and faculty (the bad ones of course he isn't that cruel)
Like when you see a second reflection in your mirror, next to you? It's slightly blurry so the features are not clear but you get the gist and when you turn around, heart beating erractically, no one is there. The bulb lights on the ceilling flickered on and off.
A bully intends on giving a beat down to Danny follows him behind his back in a long, empty hallway and he thinks he's got Danny since he knows the way like the back of his palm and Danny's destination end in the dead end wall but when he jumps in, no one was there. A cold breeze slithered from his neck to his spine. The windows are closed. In the peripheral corner of his eyes, someone (something) walks away. He hurried to the other side, forehead sweating and knuckles clenched until it whites but only silence and pristine corners greet him.
A teacher, who is infamously strict with his grading and callouse in his words, is on his way home when he realizes he forgot the specific files he needs to fill in at the classroom. At this point, the sun is barely set down and he lives nearby so he isn't as afraid as he should be. The classroom is huge so maybe it'swhy he doesn't see it. So focus on finding the correct files among the stack that it takes him far longer to realize there is a shadow at the far end corner of the room. The boy, based on his costume, is standing back to him so he cannot tell yet who the boy is. Still, the sudden appearance of the boy (did he though, or was he always there?) startled the teacher into yelling. By the time he calms down and looks again, there is only him in the classroom. The door remains unopened. He scurried home, files forgotten.

yard work - chapter 13 (regina george x reader)
fandom: Mean Girls (all media)
pairing: Regina George x OFC/Reader
summary: You'd been in the same class as Regina George since kindergarten. You'd lived on the same street even longer. Once upon a time, when life was sandbox disputes and who got the swing first arguments, you'd even been friends. Now, in junior year of high school, you doubted she even remembered you. The same couldn't be said about you. You definitely remembered her.
warning(s): derogatory slurs! several of them!

Tumblr media
It was Friday. The last day of school, the night of the talent show, and just a few days before Christmas. They'd be passing out the candy cane-grams. There'd be some assembly, probably.
Your leg jittered restlessly while you tried to focus on your bio paper. What kind of sadistic fuck assigned an essay on the last day before break? The biology teacher, apparently. He had a superiority complex, you were sure. Allergic to happiness.
Your mind kept drifting back to the photo album. Surely, Regina had it. You'd put it in her locker on Wednesday, so she'd have found it first thing Thursday morning. You hadn't dared to take a peek in her locker, afraid Gretchen would sniff you out again.
Something had clearly gone down between them. Gretchen didn't sit with them at lunch, instead opting for her boyfriend's clique. She didn't seem to fit in too well and Jason didn't seem too pleased to have her there. Karen and Regina sat by themselves, conversing casually.
Cady had been banished somewhere. You'd heard talk Aaron had dumped her. You knew Janis and Damien weren't talking to her after she turned her back on them. Since the whole Kälteen bar shebang and the subsequent smear campaign Regina had doled out, she hadn't been exactly welcome at any table. From what you understood, Gretchen and Cady were on speaking terms, but Karen and Gretchen weren't, but Cady and Karen were. It was all terribly confusing.
You had a table for yourself. Some of your old friends crowded the ones nearby, quite pointedly not sitting with you. You were no longer cool, it seemed. Easier to focus on your paper, you told yourself. The cafeteria was serving chilli today. The slop was slightly too watery and the meat was a mystery, but it'd do. You'd run out of food at home. You'd wanted a goddamn Christmas dinner and a good slab of ham got pricy. Couldn't rely on Mrs George for a feast this time around.
"Hey," Someone called near you. You looked up, surprised somebody was talking to you. A boy, more specifically a jock judging by the varsity jacket. "You good?"
"What?" Your brows furrowed. "Yeah?"
He smiled smarmily. "Cool."
And he walked away. You kept looking as he went, staring after his back. His buddies were looking your way, the same kinds of grins on their faces. That was odd. Didn't bode well.
It didn't take long for you to find out why. The period following lunch was when Damien would be visiting classrooms as Santa Claus, handing out candy canes.
He walked right up to you with a grin hidden under the fake Santa beard, wiggling his eyebrows all the while.
"The whole bag..." He drawled. "Impressive."
Confused, you peered into the sack. A couple dozen candy canes filled it, apparently all for you. You picked one out, trying to ignore the sinking feeling in your stomach as well as the snickering of the boys in the back rows.
Dyke. The message was just one word. It was clearly assigned to you, your whole name displayed proudly. Your body went numb, hands holding the candy limply. There was no signature to show who they were from. People were staring at you. Damien had lingered awhile to see what'd been written to you. The grin behind his beard had turned into a shocked scowl.
"What... What do they say?" Cady, of all people, the nerve of her, asked. She was seated a few rows from you.
"Alright, Mr Leigh, thanks for-" Ms Norbury tried to intervene.
"Dyke." You read out loud. Then you pulled out another. "Lesbo." And another. "Carpet muncher." The boys had trouble holding in their laughs. Another. "Queer." There were others you didn't deign to read out loud. Freak. Pervert. Degenerate. Homo.
If not for a few people finding all this amusing, it would've been dead silent in the classroom.
"These were supposed to be checked before handing out." Ms Norbury strode up to you and promptly confiscated the candies. Her face was set, expression severe, as she regarded Damien sternly.
"I- that wasn't my job. I don't know how, how they would've..." You watched Damien try to put it together.
"Well, is it really offensive if it's true?" Dylan, if you remembered correctly, piped up. He was a sporty guy, decently popular but nothing special. Now, though, he might as well have been an A-lister with how utterly low you'd plummeted.
Murmurs spread out around you. Damien and Ms Norbury retreated to a corner of the classroom to figure out how in the hell this had happened. People were looking at you. Your skin was crawling. It couldn't be Janis who told. She was in the same boat as you and she didn't have the power to do something like this. To make the committee ignore hateful messages meant some strings had been pulled. The only other person that knew, that could realistically do this, was Regina.
You bit your lip, closed your eyes and took a deep breath. Okay. You got the message. The album had been too much. This was a sign to stay away, to forget all the sentimentalities you'd had.
"Hey, calm down now, we'll figure this out- hey!" You didn't pause to listen to Ms Norbury when you booked it out of the stifling classroom. You couldn't bear to be there any longer.
You hid in the bathroom. Both hands held against your mouth so you wouldn't make a noise, you cried long and hard. Your breathing was choppy and laboured, and in no time at all your nose was blocked off entirely. Your eyes stung and your vision blurred.
The bell rang and pretty soon people came into the bathroom. You refused to get out, pretending to take the longest shit ever. It didn't take very long for the people coming in to discuss what had gone down in one of the junior calc classes.
It spread like wildfire. You were pretty sure the boys had nicked some of the candy canes from Ms Norbury since you could hear people reading the notes out loud, the rustling of the plastic covering.
"Who even is that?"
"Who cares? A total freak is what she is. Oh my gosh, Steph, do you think..."
"What?"
"Do you think she used the girls' bathroom? She's probably spread her diseases all over the seats! We're all gonna have gonorrhoea!"
You wanted to sink into the ground and never see daylight again. By the time the bell rang again, signalling the start of the next period, the rumours had inflated and grown disproportionately in severity.
Apparently, you were riddled with sexually transmitted diseases, preyed on freshmen and sold them hard drugs, behaved creepily in locker rooms, and had had a stint with Cady Heron while she was still with Aaron Samuels. You guessed that last one had to do with the time you'd dragged her into the janitor's closet to yell at her about the Kälteen bars.
In short, you were fucked. Your life was fucked. You'd hoped, so hoped, that even if you wouldn't get everything you wanted, you'd get some. You wouldn't get a high school girlfriend, wouldn't have slumber parties, wouldn't be normal. You wouldn't be Regina's friend. Fine. At least you could've had a quiet life, gone to community college and worked at the shop, had some buddies, and maybe lost your virginity one day. Not even that now. Not even a little bit of that. Your future in this town was just no longer there. You had nothing. You were nothing.
You skulked out of the bathroom once you were sure there'd be nobody in the halls. You got into your car and drove home. Just as you'd slumped down onto the couch, the house phone rang. Groaning, you went to answer. If it was your dad, missing it would mean there'd be hell to pay.
"Hello?" Your voice was croaky. It hurt to talk.
"Hi, sweetie! You don't sound too good." Mrs George's chirp greeted you. "I assume you had to leave school 'cause of that. I just happened to see you drive by. Rick got called to work last minute and Kylie's got tutoring till late. Come keep me company?"
"I'm not feeling too well, I'm sorry..." You said, holding the phone to your ear while your other arm wrapped around your body. You tried to breathe deep and not burst out crying, again. Your eyes felt swollen shut.
"Oh, I'll come by with some soup, then," She sounded so genuinely concerned.
You bit your lip. Tummy rumbling in its emptiness, you decided now would be as good of a time as any to bite the bullet.
"Actually, uh, if it's not too much to ask, and um- I-" You took in a shuddering breath. "You don't have to say yes, it's totally okay and I'm sorry if this is, like, too much-"
"Sweetpea, just ask." She chuckled.
"I don't have any food. Or, like, I have ingredients for Christmas 'cause I wanted to make dinner for myself, but I guess I forgot I have to eat before then too?" You tried to laugh, but the sound was strained. "Um, could you take me to the soup kitchen downtown?"
You could've driven yourself. You could've, in that you were capable of driving yourself, but with how your vision was impaired, how your body ached with loneliness, and how you weren't sure you wouldn't just impulsively drive into oncoming traffic, you doubted you would've survived the trip.
"No." She said bluntly. You flinched, feeling the refusal like a knife to the gut. "No, absolutely not. We are going grocery shopping and getting you food to last the rest of the damn year. I'm picking you up."
"Mrs George, I don't have money-"
"You shouldn't be spending your hard-earned money like that. Doesn't your dad send you enough to cover utilities?"
"He sends me grocery money. I gotta pay for gas and stuff on my own."
Mrs George's resounding silence spoke volumes of her opinion on that. "I'm coming to get you. I'm buying you groceries and then we're gonna meal prep. Okay?"
"Okay."
When Mrs George saw you, her determined attitude shifted to that of maternal worry. You fought hard not to break down, though all you really wanted to do was curl into her and cry your little heart out.
She drove you to Whole Foods, a place way out of your budget. But she insisted, so there was little you could do. She took you from aisle to aisle, prattling on and on, chatting about this and that. You listened mostly silently, humming here and there.
She picked out a lot of canned stuff, like beans and tomato purée. All that stuff was made to last forever, so you wouldn't always have to buy fresh ingredients. She bought all your favourite snacks, which she somehow remembered. When you commented on that, she just pointed at her temple with a knowing grin. Mothers never forget, she'd said.
Once you were all done, the cart was quite literally overflowing. The total nearly made your stomach drop out of your ass. Mrs Geoge simply flashed her black card and, without even a wince, paid the price. The receipt was, like, three feet long.
Carrying it all to her car was a daunting task, but a worker did come to help you. A young man, probably home from college, was all too eager to carry the bags for Mrs George.
The way he was blushing all the way up to his ears, the way she was amused by him but not receptive, made you think about what Regina had said months ago. You'd been on your way to her nail appointment and she'd gone on a tangent about how women died at menopause.
Mrs George was thriving. She was above it all. Her worth, or mortality, wasn't determined by the men around her. She'd been cheated on, continuously neglected by her husband, and put down by her teenage daughter, and still, she was beautiful. She existed independently.
In short, you were right and Regina was wrong. You saw things how they really were. She saw things tilted to the left, through a warped lens. The confirming of this brought you no comfort, she'd already ruined you and there was no redeeming herself after this, at least not for you.
"Phew, what a trip, right?" She nudged you with her elbow as she buckled her seatbelt.
You nodded along, voice still weak. You buckled in as well.
"I'll pick you up for the talent show." She said as she turned away from the parking lot. "Oooh, we should have a night in. Order some pizzas and slob around the couch. How's that sound?"
"I don't think I should go to the talent show."
"Oh, why's that?"
"Just... Something happened at school. I don't wanna go."
Mrs George frowned and glanced at you. "Honey, you know you can tell me anything. I still think you should come."
"Everybody hates me." You faced the window and crossed your arms. Very mature.
"I'm sure that's not true." She sighed. "I'm not supposed to tell you, but Regina's got something prepared for you. I think you should go see her at least."
Your face twisted in anger. "Something prepared for me- like she prepared something for me today? I don't fucking think so."
"Language." She said and you grumbled. "What do you mean?"
"Nothing. It's nothing." You rubbed your hands down your jeans. "It's not gonna be good. She's gonna humiliate me."
"It's supposed to be a surprise, but I can guarantee that she's not going to humiliate you."
"What do you know?" You turned to her with narrowed eyes.
"I've been hearing her practice, is all." She responded, tone much too light.
You studied her face carefully. "Fine."
She smiled, seemingly relieved. Then, as if to cut the tension in the car, said:
"Oh, and by the way, I'm filing for divorce." With a giddy smile on her face, she blurted it out. You just stared for a while, almost suffering whiplash from the sudden change in topic.
"Uh... Finally." You laughed a little as you said that.
"Yeah!" She laughed with you. "It's been a long time coming. I just needed to sort some things out. Emotionally and financially. I had to get rid of some investments so I wouldn't have to pay alimony."
Your jaw dropped. The Georges were, like, filthy rich. Rich beyond reason, excess income to a ridiculous degree. You'd always assumed it was Mr George's money. How archaic of you.
"I... I kinda wished you'd done it sooner." You looked forward again. She was driving carefully since the snow made the roads prone to ice.
"Me too. The girls... They... I thought that having two parents would be the most stable, safe environment for them. I was wrong."
"Yeah." You swallowed. "Um. Since we're, like, just saying things. I'm, by the way, gay. Like, a lesbian."
"That's wonderful, honey!"
"Yeah." You couldn't say you agreed.
"Should we go get you a haircut?"
"I don't need to look any more butch than I do."
"I don't know, I think you'd look dashing." She feigned light-hearted. "Regina might like it."
"Mrs George!"
Notes: More drama! Yay! Do y'all think Regina did it?

Waiting in line to pick up my nephew from pre-school and thinking about picking up the kids from school with Carmy
We exist in the amazing @thebearer ‘s universe ok 😍🫶
Tumblr media
He is usually at work so you pick up the girls by yourself. It’s no big deal, of course, but their first question is always, “Is daddy home yet?”
You try to let them down easily everyday with a gentle, “No, but he will be soon,” and a promise to stop at Starbucks on the way home.
Today was a special day, though. It’s the day before Halloween, the crisp fall air swirls around your mom SUV (You told Carmen absolutely not to a minivan) when you pull into the pick up line and roll the windows down. And Carm had somehow managed to take the afternoon off.
The girls were so excited to wear their costumes to school this morning. Teddy dressed up as a magical-fairy-princess-slash-mini-Michael-Myers and Willow is a chef, just like her Daddy.
It was only a few minutes of chatting with Carm about the restaurant and what you needed from the grocery this weekend before the school bell rang, signaling the girls would be running out any minute. Carmen ducked down in the driver’s seat as much as he could while you got out of the car like normal.
Both girls came running towards you with some kind of Halloween craft and a small bag of candy, already squealing and excitedly regaling their spooky party and what all of their friends wore.
“Okay, okay! Let’s get home so we can make dinner for Daddy,” You prompted hoping they would start climbing into the car.
Both girls popped open their doors and slung their backpacks in. You had to look away to hide your smirk as the big reveal was about to happen.
“Katie had on the biggest princess dress I’ve ever seen, Mama, and James was a Power Ranger and— Daddy?” Teddy squealed with joy and caught Willow’s attention who also started giggling uncontrollably.
“Hi my babies! How was sch—uugh,” Carmen started but was met with an elbow to the ribs as the girls started climbing over each other to get in the front seat and hug him first.
A chorus of giggles and kisses filled the air and your heart. You ducked your head a bit in embarrassment when someone’s knee bumped into the car’s horn, but the smiles in the cars nearest to you melted away your worries. It seems the parents and teachers nearby thought the sweet reunion was just as precious as you did.
“Mama! Did you know Daddy was in here?” Willow questions you with a hand on her hip. Boy were you in trouble when she got a little older and a little sassier.
“Alright, alright, girls. Get in your seats, yeah? We have a surprise for you at home,” Carmen finally put an end to the adorable cuddle puddle happening in front of you.
“A surprise?” Both girls squealed as they climbed back into their own spots. Carmen simply wiggled his eyebrows in the rearview mirror as giggles filled the car yet again.
You could feel the buzz in the air as they excitedly discussed what it could be. You piped up only once with a solid, “Nope,” when someone said something about a puppy.
You spent the evening carving pumpkins Carmen and you had picked out earlier that day and drinking warm apple cider that had been steeping on the stove all day.
It was a simple fall activity day, but it filled your heart to the very brim with love for your perfect little family.
A/N: I could die I love them 😭😭 thank you again to my idol for creating such an in-depth universe for us to live in our delulus 🫶❤️

neurosurgeon!hongjoong × reader
buy me coffee ?
where love and peace is held, i never expected for this to happen. i planned and i planned, i expected, and i hoped, but it was never you. you held what i wanted hostage to make room for you, the thing that i needed but has no means of acceptance. deny me, live your best life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hongjoong is not one to be surprised easily. Well, by events or situations. He's a scaredy cat who had fallen victim to his son's pranks at least 20 times. In the past month.
But the sight of Kijoong's teacher, Mr Kang, lighting up as you produced a bag of sandwiches from your bag and handed it over to him almost made him choke on his own spit. Honestly, he didn't know why he was so surprised as he had seen (peeked) into your (private) conversation with Mr Kang the other day. Maybe he had been in denial (for some darn reason) about the exact identity of the Yeosang you talked with, thinking that it could be someone else with a similar name. That's possible, right? But seeing the way you adjusted the sleeve of his rolled-up shirt, Hongjoong was hesitant.
When you took Kijoong inside to settle in his cubby and spend some time before the classes started, Hongjoong found himself walking towards the guy he was eyeing.
"Ah, good morning! Mr Kim, right? Kim Kijoong's dad?" Yeosang asked politely with a warm smile. Even Hongjoong had to admit that his heart fluttered slightly so his "baseless" annoyance curiosity has decreased slightly. "Y-yes," clearing his throat, Hongjoong slipped his hands into his pants pockets, "How are you? How's your dad? I heard he was at the hospital?" "Yeah, yeah, he's fine! We went to the other KQ branch hospital so he was taken care of well. His recovery was even better when (y/n) sent him soup," he chuckled.
At the mention of the teacher's dad knowing you, Hongjoong couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at that. "Oh, I didn't realize that you two were so close," he nodded casually. Yeosang shrugged, "I guess in a sense we are, but (y/n) just cares about people and she takes it upon herself to take care of those who know her from her roots. Another hint, you two had known each other for a long while. "(y/n) didn't mention that she knew you to me and she often tells me about the people she knows from her youth." Hongjoong cringed slightly, realizing how easy it could be for Yeosang to twist his words and make it seem like he was jealous. Which he kinda was but it's not like it's obvious. Thankfully, if he did realize, Yeosang didn't let it show. "That could be because I haven't seen her in a long while and it didn't even occurred to us that we knew each other until the second day I came back," well that made Hongjoong more curious and Yeosang could sense it based on the way Hongjoong nodded along and putting all of his focus on him which made him rather nervous. So this time, it was Yeosang who cleared his throat and mended his posture, "S-see, (y/n) and I knew each other from way back in high school. We met because we had entered the same debate competition and we were in opposition. She was formidable with her arguments and it actually made me fear her in a major way. I didn't even think I'd get to talk to her but as you can guess, I did," "How so?" Hongjoong asked, engaged in the story, "Well, she made my teammate cry and she just wanted to make sure that the know-it-all 12th grader had his mommy to wipe his snot. We were in 10th grade at the time." The revelation made Hongjoong let out a snort which caused some parents and their children nearby to jump in surprise, looking at him who had to turn around in shame.
"So, is that how you and (y/n) started dating?" Hongjoong asked after calming down, not really realizing the words that he used. Yeosang furrowed his eyebrows momentarily before chuckling, "Oh, no. We are not dating! We became close again after the realization of our connection and became even closer because I found out that my spotter at the gym is actually Kijoong's instructor so we just shared and bonded and got even closer because of that!" he explained.
Though he was not even supposed to feel that way, Hongjoong felt a sense of relief and his posture even relaxed considerably. Though, he tensed up again when Yeosang continued, "Although, between you and me, (y/n) seems to be interested in this other guy." "What other guy? Is it someone she's close with? How'd you know?" At that point, Hongjoong didn't even care that he was acting rather ridiculously, asking random, personal stuff to his son's homeroom teacher. How professional. "I think you'd know him too," Yeosang stated and for one moment, Mingi came to mind but considering how you still deny him ice cubes, that seemed irrational, impossible, and positively stupid. Yeosang turned around slightly and pointed to where you were inside. "There."
Slowly, almost dramatically, Hongjoong turned his head, following Yeosang's finger to see you talking to the guy he recognized as the other homeroom teacher in Kijoong's class, Choi Soobin. While you were kind and affectionate towards Yeosang, you were more... Flirty with Soobin. That was the only word that seemed suitable because your stance was more passive yet open while still maintaining some boundaries with Soobin. Very different from the way you were with Yeosang whom you treated in a more motherly manner, like how you would Kijoong. With Yeosang, it was tidying him and giving him what he needed but with Soobin, it was more playful what with the gentle pushes and allowing him to guide you so your head won't hit the shelve nearby. You both looked very comfortable with each other, being as close as you both could and remaining respectful at a kindergarten while Kijoong tried to climb up Soobin's legs. His eyes glazed over the way you gently chastised the boy and tried to pry him off but Soobin grabbed your hands away from Kijoong and made gestures that suggested he was telling you to just let Kijoong be.
It was then that Hongjoong realized that his gut feeling was correct but he had jumped to a conclusion.
A lot of thoughts ran through Hongjoong's head, trying to make sense of things as if correcting an assignment, marking parts that were wrong and putting notes on certain parts as if pointing out which information needed elaboration. Above all, one thought seemed more prominent compared to the other. The thought that questioned whether or not he was supposed to feel bitter, jealous, and, well, hurt. Knowing that he was questioning his action did nothing, however. He just kept staring at the two of you in the corner while he was there, at a distance. Because that's what he had made his persona towards you to be since the beginning, right?
Distant, unapproachable.
Like he always was.
Alone.

After watching the season finale, I’m just imagining domestic din 🥲🥲 i can imagine him falling for grogus teacher, at the school he goes to when he’s not on missions with din. especially seeing how nurturing and caring she is with him. And they live happily together as a clan of three ( maybe more 👀)
Yessss oml how cute ???
He doesn’t expect much to come out of sending the kid to school, but he’s not so arrogant as to think he can teach him everything.
Sure, he can teach Grogu how to be a Mandalorian. How to fight, how to navigate, how to negotiate. He can tell him stories and legends from their culture, but at the end of the day, he’s probably not the best one to teach the kid how to read, write, and do math.
Not like he can’t, but he just doesn’t have the patience. Besides, it’ll be good for the kid to go to school. Make some friends. He’s still only learning how to talk, but maybe that’ll come with socialising with someone besides Din, who, let’s be honest, isn’t the most talkative of people.
Navarro has a school. Two, in fact, with the population increase. One for the younger kids, one for the older. The younger kids learn their letters, how to read, math, geography. They play sport in the courtyard and make wooden swords to play with in arts class. The older kids study history, maps, languages. Some take apprenticeships as blacksmiths or mechanics.
Honestly, Din isn’t sure what to make of it. His own education was spotty, taught by older members of the clan. He never had a formal education as such, so he doesn’t know what to expect of someone who makes educating younglings their profession.
He certainly doesn’t expect someone like you, who’s so patient and kind. While taken aback at first, he finds himself watching you. Noticing little things. How you don’t chastise the children who are a little louder, a little different. How you make time for each and every child under your care, treating them all as though they’re special, all equal.
Maybe he was a little worried Grogu wouldn’t receive that same kindness. He knows his son is different, in a variety of ways.
It doesn’t seem to bother you; you find a way to communicate, to understand the kid even though it’s difficult. Once he’s worked out his letters, you give him a little datapad to input words into, and it speaks for him. It’s limited - Grogu can only learn so fast, and he’s still very young - but basic phrases are still giant leaps.
With the help of his data pad, Grogu can introduce himself, say yes, no, please and thank you. The other kids stop being wary of him and invite him to play with them. It’s kind of cute, actually, watching a group of five year old human kids and Grogu playing some sort of ball game. One day Din shows up to collect him and they’re finger painting together, Grogu and a little boy and a little girl.
You just smile at him as he walks in, put their picture on the wall to dry.
“We learned a new word today.” You tell him, and Grogu taps his datapad.
“Hello, dad.” The artificial voice says.
While he’s still wearing his helmet, behind it, Din smiles.
It’s almost inevitable that he falls for you. Inevitable that you reciprocate. You’re bonded by caring for the same small, strange child who endears everyone to him.
When he asks you to live with them, he’s nervous. Expects you to refuse. Is elated when you say yes.
Once you’ve moved into the little house, the walls decorated with paintings Grogu has done with his friends, you’re standing outside together, watching the kid play in the shallow water nearby.
When he turns to you, hands on your waist, and you in turn go to hesitantly remove his helmet, he doesn’t stop you. He lets you, lets you set it aside before he leans in and presses a gentle kiss to your lips.
What was once a clan of two officially becomes a clan of three, and honestly? He’s never been happier.

SEVEN DEADLY VIRTUES
Tumblr media
Summary : In order to become immortal, Jungkook had to sacrifice seven humans who were the opposite definition to the seven deadly sins. And the hardest person to find was the person with the virtue of having no greed. When he finally manages to find one, will he still sacrifice that person?
Will he still sacrifice you?
Pairing : YANDERE Jeon Jungkook x fem!reader
Genre : immortal!au
Word count : 4067
Warnings : smut 18+, kidnapping, swwearing, several mentions of killing, mentions of sacrificing humans (trigger warning: mentions of sacrificing a child), dry-humping, boob and nipple play, kissing (yo its aggressive from both the parties), jungkook develops an obsession with y/n
A/n- heh I'm back again with my broken ass writing, here we go!
-
In the dark and deep shadows of Daiho lay a secret unknown to the vast majority, the secret of a group of humans - immortal humans. No, God did not give them any special privilege, rather the pioneers of this cult were mad for not being born to be eternally alive. Being furious for this reason, they took the matter into their own hands and did everything to become immortal and it took generations of experiments to finally come up with a solution.
The solution was to sacrifice humans who possessed virtues opposite to the seven deadly sins. Jungkook being born among these self-made immortal humans made him abide by the rules. His parents have killed to live so why won't he do the same?
"Remember kook, never to show your face to your prey otherwise they will get all your rewards instead." Jungkook's mother warned him.
He sighed, "This is like the millionth time you have told me this, I almost thought I was hearing voices since you have repeated this so many times."
His mother lightly hit his arm, "Then you better not forget about it."
"Yeah mom, it's not like I'm still your five-year-old. My classmates and teachers think I'm the most ruthless creature in our school, I don't get why I get treated like a baby in my house." His voice trailed off in irritation. His mother chuckled, "No matter how old you grow, you'll forever be my baby boy." She pinched her son's cheek.
"ow! Ugh, I'm leaving." He clicked his tongue and walked out of the door with his cloak hiding his face perfectly to hunt for his prey.
-
Unlike the dark atmosphere he had grown up in, the city he was now exploring was a lot more vibrant and lively- almost making him get disgusted. He had never liked something so bright and colourful, the fact that so many people liked the futile brightness of the sun made him even more eager to kill one.
"One person a day" he mumbled to himself as he recalled the rules of the sacrifices. He mumbled further, "Today I'll kill someone who has the perfect balanced diet." he looked at the compass in his hands, this compass could glow when the target was nearby. All he needed was to switch the needle of the compass to the food icon on it and it will be reset to find the person of that virtue.
* GLUTTONY
To be honest, searching for people with a perfectly balanced diet was a little tricky. Because the person he needed to search a perfectly healthy person with an urge to resist overeating instead of someone who has an eating disorder or something similar.
He took his time to ponder over where he could get such a person. "Definitely not some modelling agencies or people working in offices. Where can I find... Where?" he hissed as he kept thinking. "Ah... Right! A nutritionist. A nutritionist must have the records of people who have adapted to having balanced meals." he felt proud of himself for coming up with such a brilliant solution.
And like that, he adopted a fake identity and resumé to work with a nutritionist and at night he went through the records of those people who have visited this nutritionist in the past. And so being successful in his attempt, he found his compass glowing more and more when he was getting closer to the home of the target. Gluttony. He struck off the word on his list and took the unconscious body of his prey away.
*ENVY
The next day he planned to abduct a person related to the church. Even though it was quite a bit difficult to find someone not envious, he found his compass glow somewhere near the church's periphery.
His compass set in the icon of purple fire, glowed more and more when he secretly followed an old man who visited the church every Sunday. Envy.
*LUST
A person with a healthy sexual routine.
Even though it was hard since it's quite rare for people not to be lustful nowadays, he managed to find a boy who was known to be a player but in reality.. that boy only did so to maintain his cool and sexy image without any special interest to knock someone up.
Finding something so secretive was hard but Jungkook managed to find it out through his tactics and by attaining a fake identity to become a teacher in that boy's school. Good thing the boy has never seen his face though. Lust
* SLOTH
A track athlete for sure!
*PRIDE
According to Jungkook, a preschooler might be lazy to complete his homework, greedy to get more toys, hungry all the time, and envious of other kids with better toys, but will hardly be prideful that such a young age.
But no matter the age, jungkook wasn't the one to falter, if sacrificing a child was the solution to his parents' satisfaction with him, he would be most delightful to sacrifice the child. Pride.
*WRATH
He thought that the best person possessing this virtue requires lots of patience and empathy and for that he chose to kidnap any staff working in a psychiatric ward. He was right when he manged to find the calmest nurse as his next target. Wrath.
*GREED
This was hard, probably the hardest of all because no matter how much he thought about it, there's no way a person might be greedless. Even if someone isn't greedy for money, they can be greedy for ambitious future, delicious food, better connection with the lord, anything.
Everyone is greedy of something or the other. He wished he could ask his parents what victims did they choose for themselves but that would result in the failure of this operation. One of the major precautions to take was to not take suggestions from a previously immortality attained human which included even his mother and father. He sighed and thought of entering into the cafe across the road from where he was standing. He went inside and sat in a corner.
"Of course, if finding such a person was easy then becoming immortal will only become a joke." He thought and grumbled. He took out his compass and to his sheer surprise, the compass was glowing brightly, so brightly that he almost flinched.
Was the person he was looking for inside this very cafe?? He glanced around swiftly and thought to wait for the person to leave the cafe so that the glow will decrease and he would know whom to follow.
He expected to get his work done with little time, what he didn't expect was to sit and see people come and go... for hours.
The glow wasn't faltering at all.
And it was getting dark outside. He had been sitting there since morning but luckily for him, there was only one person who didn't leave the cafe at all until lightning and thunder were heard from outside.
You snapped out of your daze at the sudden loud noise of the thunder bolt. "Oh shoot! It's going to rain. I don't even have an umbrella. Fuck!" You cursed under your breath and quickly left your seat to make a run before raindrops would hit the ground.
Jungkook left his seat as well and followed you. And before you knew, in an isolated alley, you felt a hand strike your neck, all of a sudden your surrounding became darker than a moonless night.
--
When you felt your conscious mind wake up, you figured that your hands and feet were tied behind you, mouth was taped shut with eyes blindfolded making everything even worse.
You squirmed in your position but nothing was helping. Suddenly you heard something rustle, you realized that the sound was coming from others struggling, others? There were more people with you, isn't it?
Someone even tried their best to speak but you only heard the muffled voice, like yes.. it was the case with everyone else. And before you could do anything further, you heard a door creak open, heavy footsteps filled the room you were in.
The person laughed like a devil, "Do you know why all of you are here?" You heard him loud and clear, his footsteps then nearing you, going to your back. He was making a round around all of you. "All of you will get killed tonight and i cant wait for that to happen!" He said and clapped to himself.
What?? Your skin grew pale from fear.
Others were equally frightened. Some even made even more noises possible through that damned duct tape but he only continued to speak further, "Now now dont get upset, it was really hard for me to find you guys amongst such a vast population of imperfect and immoral people. You see.. you all are really special, and before the world could curropt you, i rescued you and i'm trying to free your souls, isnt that amazing?" Your fear quickly turned into rage, oh how badly you wanted to kill this maniac instead!
"Okay, lets start from the beginning." He knelt in front of his first victim and removed the tape from his mouth. "Please let me go." These were the first words you heard the victim mutter in his shaky voice. The kidnapper clicked his tongue, "Well... that's not happening!"
The victim had now started to cry, "Why- whats so special about me?" The kidnapper answered, "Ah! Now thats a good question, you are basically the person with the perfectly balanced diet you know, i thought it'll be easy to find someone else too the way i found you but.. even if they were given a perfect meal plan, they couldn't follow it strictly, isn't that so upsetting?" He said and immediately taped the mouth of the man back.
The kidnapper fished out his compass from the pocket and smirked at the bright glow. "Jeongin! Drag this man away!" He ordered and you heard a few men take away the struggling victim.
He then continued so with the other four people, untaping their mouth, telling them why were they kidnapped and then taping them back to drag them out of the room. You did not hear anymore person struggling in the room so you believed that perhaps you are the last one left.
His steps got closer until you felt his presence in front of you. He detached the tape letting your mouth free, "Any questions?" He asked.
"Why are you killing us?" You asked firmly.
He chuckled, "Didnt i answer that already? I'm trying to save all of you--"
"Bullshit!" You shouted. "You want us to believe that crap?" You were fuming mad.
Normally, Jungkook would have punched the person unconscious but strangely he didn't want to do so right now. Call him crazy but he had never seen someone look so hot while being angry, not even his female classmates looked so attractive to him. He then took a second to look at you entirely from top to bottom, he was right, you were indeed one of a kind. He didnt notice it earlier but now he thanked heavens that you had a mini skirt on you-- "Hold on! I'm not supposed to do this, she's getting killed tonight." He mentally scolded himself and shook his head.
He quickly taped your mouth back and said, "Even though you didnt ask, i'll answer you. You are someone who doesnt have any greed left within you. You're the rarest kind!" He said and ordered his men to drag you away. Just when they were lifting you up, he brought out his compass to see the glow. To much of his horror, the compass wasn't glowing anymore, he frowned.
"Halt!" He commanded. "Untie her ankles." For a moment you were confused 'cause why did he order that all of a sudden? "Now leave us alone." He said.
You heard the footsteps of the men receding and the door was closed.
You gulped.
"Looks like you are greedy now. Have you now developed the greed to live longer?" You flinched at the sudden touch of his hand on your cheek. He caressed your cheek and then tore off the tape from your mouth. "Then i must not be someone you can kill anymore.. isnt it?" You said mockingly. He laughed, "You are smart. But, i can still kill you if you make me mad." He said and leaned forward, you felt his cool breath tickle the crook of your neck, "So you better not make me mad if you want to see tomorrow's sunrise."
"What are you implying exactly?" You asked him.
"Please me. And I'll let you go." He said.
"Please you? How? Shall i sing? Massage your shoulders?" Of course you understood his intention but you chose to play dumb and get his answer out of his own mouth.
He chuckled and you heard him get away from you. Next you heard him drag something closer, you supposed it to be a furniture, most probably a chair.
"You are quite funny, a moment ago you were fuming with anger and now you are making jokes." He pulled your arm and you involuntarily stumbled forward, he made you sit on his thighs with your legs on both sides. "Make me feel good, if you can satisfy me. I shall let you go." He said as he ran his cold hands up your bare thighs. You felt alarmed, why did you had to wear a short skirt out of everything today!?
You bit the inner side of your cheek, "I think i can do that better if you untie my hands and remove the blindfold from my eyes!" You said.
He tilted his head and had a crooked smile, did you really think you could outsmart him? Not on his watch!
You sharply inhaled as you felt his face press against your chest, he pressed further and you felt his hands untie yours at the back. He moved his face away once he was done untying.
You bit your lip, "What about the blindfold?"
"Im not going to untie that." As soon as he said that, you quickly raised your hands to untie them but he caught your wrists. "I said what i said and if you still open that, you are dead." Your hands shivered and you backed down.
"Alright, i wont." You said in a meek voice.
"Good girl. Now, get started already." He spoke.
You clutched the fabric of your skirt tight, still thinking your decision. "Ugh! I'll just get it done with him." You mentally told yourself.
You pulled up the skirt to expose your underwear. Jungkook smirked with your action. You started circling your pussy from outside the panty but now he had a better idea. "Let me do it!" He said and grabbed your wrist to stop you.
Much to your shock, he pulled down your panty and started fingering you with his thumb. Your vagina started throbbing, you moaned the moment he inserted two of his fingers inside you. The next thing made you almost scream when he started scissoring with his fingers. Your breath grew shallow with the increasing speed. With his other hand he unzipped his pants and brought your hands over his penis. "You know what you need to do, right?"
"Y-yes." You said and started sliding your palms up and down his dick. He inserted a third finger and you screamed, your nails dug into his foreskin and he let out a shaky breath. Much to his pleasure, your juices had started leaking and so he pulled up your panty covering your pussy back. "Come over, grind your pretty pussy on me." He slapped your clothed pussy causing you a painful sensation. You shifted closer to his erect dick and started dry-humping. "Ah..." He moaned and your back arched. His hands moved up to unbutton your t-shirt exposing your bra.
His hands were now kneading your clothed breasts while you kept grinding on him. "Dammit!" You cursed internally, you were so lost in the session that you had totally forgotten to ask him further. "W-will you still not tell me.. why.. you kidnapped.. u-us?" You asked him.
"I want to become immortal." He answered honestly while throwing his head back on the chair. You managed to run your hands through his hair, "Im..immortal? How is that po.. possible?" You asked and he pulled open your bra, your bare boobs hanging down. He hands started squeezing your nipples making you moan loudly. "It.. it is possible." He answered and continued, "If we sacrifice humans with ... the.. best.. qualities.. compared .. t-to the seven deadly sins.. the person sacrificing them... can be-become immortal." He said pinched your nipple hard making you clench your teeth, tears forming in your eyes.
You spoke, "But we.. we were only.. AH- only six people here." You managed to speak.
His breathing pace got faster as you started humping with more speed, "Y-yeah.. but .. there's a.. ch-child too.. he.. ahh... he was making.. ahhhhh... too much noise." He hissed in pleasure.
Your stomach churned with disgust when you heard him. "That’s it! This man needed to die!" You mentally noted and leaned towards him, you started to kiss him aggressively and he too reciprocated your aggressiveness. He has never been kissed so aggressively before and he absolutely loved the way you kissed! The way your soft lips embraced his lips, the way your tongue danced along with his tongue.
When you both were deep into each other's kiss, your hands moved away from his hair to his neck. You started choking him. At first it would've looked like you had a choking kink but no, you were in real trying to cut off his wind supply.
Jungkook laughed in your kiss, "Nice try!" He said after he hit your carotid point making you unconscious. He quickly got up and carried you in his arms. He stepped out of the door and looked at his men, "inject everyone i had kidnapped with the memory erasing potion so that they forget the past 24 hours of their life and return them back to their houses."
"Sir, shall i inject her too?" Jeongin asked him as he pointed his finger towards you. He shook his head, "Except her. I want her to remember all of this. But just like everyone else, return her back as well safely."
-
You sighed as you drank your coffee in a cafe. The incident that had happened with you a week ago was still bothering you, you still can't forget that night. You remember your kidnapper telling you why he had kidnapped all of you, after carefully remembering few of his words you understood that you were the person with no greed. Tch! Who doent have any greed? You scoffed to yourself and recalled what had happened in the morning the day you were kidnapped.
You had a quarrel with your ex-boyfriend when you told him how you didn't like the way his girl best friend was behaving, too much clingy, too much physical contact. She used to even sit on his lap casually.
At first you thought that you were over analyzing things, that you were just being paranoid. You tried your best to not act affected, to act like you were the cool kind.
"Y/n's literally a blind at this point!" You heard Sarah, your ex's best friend speak with someone while you heard them from outside the door. "Like she cant even see how i and woobin hold hands nearly all the time. She's like the dumbest girlfriend of woobin i have seen so far. Even though i get so tired of him always ranting and praising his girlfriend whenever we are together, my opinion about her still doesnt change." Your eyes flickered and you gulped hard, you barged inside the room making Sarah's eyes go wide.
"I see. I wasnt wrong when I thought that you were upto something.. and what did you say? Dumbest?" You laughed sarcastically, "Have you ever seen yourself in the mirror, Sarah? You should do that more often to know the correct answer of who's actually dumb here!" Sarah chuckled, "But did i say anything wrong though? Whom do you think would Woobin believe more, me or you? His best friend with whom he has practically grown up or his girlfriend of three months?" She raised her eyebrows in question.
You nodded, "Yeah we should better find that out, shouldn't we?" You quickly grabbed your phone and dialed Woobin. When Woobin came to the room you all were in, Sarah had completely changed her demeanor. "What happened Sarah?" As soon as Woobin entered, he looked concerned for Sarah who was faking her crocodile tears, "Woobin i suppose i should maintain my distance from you now on." You rolled your eyes at her cheap acting skills.
"Why, whats wrong?" Woobin asked her. "Why don't you ask that to your beloved girlfriend? She doesn't seem to understand the kind of relationship we share." Oh wow! She tells him to ask you and then answers herself!? You seriously wanted to laugh.
Woobin turned towards you, "What is she saying, Y/n? I thought you were cool with me hanging out with Sarah. Why the sudden change of heart?"
You scoffed, "Hanging out? Is holding hands and sitting on one's lap, even kissing on one's cheeks sometimes is a part of hanging out? Is that what best friends do? Honestly i only pretended to be fine with it, but.. but i cant anymore woobin!"
Sarah was now crying even more pathetically, "See woobin, i didnt lie! Y/n, it seems that you have a problem with me but i never had with you."
"That's right Y/n, Sarah has never said anything ill about you. Why do you feel insecure about us?" Woobin added.
You were flabbergasted at how Woobin was openly taking his best friend's side and calling you insecure, "Are you implying that I'm the problem here? Seriously? You know what, let's just break up. I cant stay with you if you have a best friend like her. We are over." You were enraged.
Finally, woobin also lost his cool, "Can you fucking stop being so greedy Y/N?" He shouted. The whole room was now pin drop silent until you spoke again, "Greedy? Woobin, I'm sorry for being greedy, okay? I'm sorry that i ever became a part of your life and became a problem in between you both because... because i'm a greedy person. But you know what? I dont want to stay as a part of your life any longer. Good fucking bye!" You rushed out and never looked back even though Woobin kept calling your name.
That day you had then went to the cafe to cool yourself down and pondered over and over again that whether you had overreacted or if you were really a greedy person.
And with hours passing by, you had less and less desires left within you.
That was when Jungkook's compass had started glowing.
Right now, you were looking outside the window of the cafe, the day was sunny and the scenery was peaceful. You still think that that day was probably the most eventful day of your life, you also wondered what had happened with the other victims who were kidnapped. You wished you could report to the police but you didn't even see anyone or know anything about them. You didn't even know the place you were in, so all you could do is just think about them.
While you were lost in your thoughts, someone came and sat in front of you. You looked in front of you at his face, damn he was one handsome guy with a charismatic smile.
"Hi, I'm Jeon Jungkook. Nice to meet you, Y/N." All of a sudden, you felt shivers run down your spine, you knew this voice. It was definitely the kidnapper's voice. But was it really him? Jungkook seemed to get the hint of confusion on your face so he spoke, "It's a good thing that I gave up on being immortal. Now we can grow old together Y/N." He smiled broadly and now your suspicions were confirmed. It was indeed him.
The blood drained from your face.

the person you were kissing wasn't me | p.jh
synopsis: it's better to keep some things to yourself.
warnings: angst, fwb situation, idk if i missed anything
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you huff as you run, your uniform tie and hair blowing in the wind. the soles of your feet ached from how long you'd been standing at the restaurant you work in, tending to customers and serving dishes.
despite the tire of your bones and the muscles screaming at you to rest, you happily run your way to the home you shared with your best friend jihyo.
well, best friend was one way to label your friendship.
growing up together was probably one of the reasons you and her were so close. met in middle school, stuck together through high school, and now living together as you navigated through college and took on part time jobs.
✧ ‧˚₊ ❆ ‧ ₊ ⊹˚✧ ‧˚₊ ❆ ‧ ₊ ⊹˚✧ ‧˚₊ ❆ ‧ ₊ ⊹˚✧
the first incident was when you were both fourteen. young teenagers driven by recklessness who believed they were invincible never ended well. that's how you found yourself in detention after skipping school to hang out at the convenience store nearby.
how the teachers never realized that putting partners in crime together in one room was a bad idea, you'll never know. even more of a bad idea was when they left you alone.
so you and jihyo sat in silence, listening hard for footsteps approaching. but none came for a while, so you let your guards down.
she walked over to sit beside you, leaning her head on your shoulder as she picked on her nails. "have you ever kissed someone?"
she said the question so nonchalantly that you barely registered her words. when you did, however, you almost jumped in surprise. "why would you ask me about that?"
"because," she said, turning to look you in the eye, "haven't you ever wondered? kids our age usually do."
"i-i never.. really thought about it."
she made an expression of disbelief. "but aren't you curious?"
you shrugged, resting your cheek on the palm of your hand. "i mean, sure. i've seen enough romance to want to know why people like it."
jihyo looked away, thinking. you watched her side profile, ingraining it into your brain, but admired her as a friend. only as a friend, you always told yourself. you don't like her that way.
when she turned back to you she paused, staring deep into your eyes, before she spoke. "do you want to try?"
"try what?" you whispered, as if the two of you were up to no good once again.
"to kiss," she whispered back, leaning slightly closer. "i've never.. and experiencing it young couldn't hurt, right? i mean, we're just friends trying it out."
just friends, your mind echoed, she only feels that way towards you.
"okay," you breathe out.
and that was only the first time.
✧ ‧˚₊ ❆ ‧ ₊ ⊹˚✧ ‧˚₊ ❆ ‧ ₊ ⊹˚✧ ‧˚₊ ❆ ‧ ₊ ⊹˚✧
the second incident was a little later in eleventh grade. a new student, austin, had recently joined your school. he was your typical bully - a jock, tall, muscular, a total jerk to those who refuse to grovel at his feet and kiss his shoes.
you loathed that guy.
especially since he never left jihyo alone. you understood why he'd taken a liking to her - but god, couldn't he chase some other girl instead? although, you'd feel bad for whomever he ever took an interest in.
so one day in the cafeteria, you in a conversation with jihyo about the latest biology homework, he pushed through the doors and marched his way to your table.
austin pushed you away by the face and sat between you and jihyo, squishing you against the wall. you grumbled in annoyance, but chose to stay silent.
"hey, jih." he flashed his oh, so charming smile at her, stealing your glass of water and taking a sip. "so, you wanna come over to my house after class? i need your help with, uh, chemistry."
his buddies laughed from behind, with you rolling your eyes and miming a gag.
"um." jihyo was evidently uncomfortable. "no, sorry. i have plans with y/n."
"oh." austin spared you a glare before coming back for another attempt with jihyo. "c'mon, this loser? you'd be spending your time better with me. i could make you have fun."
your nose flared. this guy really needs to go. you watched with narrowed eyes as the glass of water in his hand tilted ever so slightly.
jihyo sighed. "no, i'm really sorry-"
austin poured the glass's contents on jihyo, creating a blotch on her blouse that made the white cloth somewhat see-through.
"oops," austin smiled 'innocently, "my hand slipped. c'mon, sweetheart, i have an extra shirt in my locker-"
"hey, man," you fumed, shoving him away from jihyo. "leave her alone."
he scowled at you, because how dare this lowly worm even talk in his direction? "what are you gonna do, huh? cry to mommy? tell the principal? my dad knows a lot of people, you don't want to mess with me-"
"yeah, go tell your daddy you don't have game." you shed your jacket and wrapped it around jihyo protectively, whose eyes darted around in embarrassment.
"don't- what!" austin spluttered. "how dare you assume that! i could date any girl i wanted!"
"yeah, go ahead!" you shouted. "just not this girl!"
"and why not?"
jihyo answered that for you. she tugged you down and planted her lips firmly on yours. she let the kiss linger for a moment before pulling away and glaring at austin. "because i'm taken."
✧ ‧˚₊ ❆ ‧ ₊ ⊹˚✧ ‧˚₊ ❆ ‧ ₊ ⊹˚✧ ‧˚₊ ❆ ‧ ₊ ⊹˚✧
it's true the two of you aren't as close as before, or maybe your friendship had simply changed because of time, but she's a little different now. you don't see each other as often despite living together, due to schedules and shifts that don't align.
which is why you're excited to surprise her with your early return home, just before she left for her night shift at the convenience store.
you stop in front of the elevator once you reach your floor, panting. she can't see you so disheveled, so you attempted to fix yourself.
until you heard voices.
you recognized the voice as jihyo, so you peeked from the corner to see who she was talking to.
"you go home safe, alright?" she says to some man, patting his shoulders. "text me when you're home."
your heart almost stops when she gets on her tiptoes to share a passionate kiss with this man.
you can't tear your eyes away, no matter how much the sight drained all happiness from you. every hope of someday confessing your feelings for her evaporated, as did the excitement of getting to surprise her.
but you didn't have the right to be jealous. even though you and her kiss from time to time, and share a lot of things other 'friends' don't share, you weren't officially together. that doesn't mean it can't hurt, or that you can't feel like you'd been betrayed.
so when the man leaves, you pretend to have just arrived and greet jihyo with a smile you hope she didn't realize was fake. "hey, jih! guess who got released early?"

Sometimes, Billy Hargrove has two voices. One is his own, slightly brash, but deep and warm to your ears. The second is more grating, rough and venomous; his father’s. Sometimes Neil Hargrove possesses his son, makes him say things he doesn’t really think, things he doesn’t really mean. And Billy doesn’t get himself back until it’s too late, until the words are out there, sucking the love out of your body from the deep wounds they administered.
From the beginning, you knew he had two voices. One would offer you a ride to the nearby diner after school, and laugh with you over milkshakes, sweet and sugary. And the other would scoff when you asked to braid his hair, ‘I’m not a girl,’.
You knew he was at war with himself. He acted so differently, so conflictingly after a day at school than he did when he drove to your house for a date night, that you were almost certain the issue was with his home environment. In a rare moment of inner peace, he’d told you about his father, and everything clicked into place.
Since then, you’ve been fighting with Neil. Not the physical man that made your boy’s life a living hell, but the one inside his head, the one that tells him he can’t reach for your hand in public, the one who says it’s pussy shit to hold his girlfriend’s pink purse for her.
You’re fighting with him now, or at least, you’re planning to. Billy’s mouth is moving but Neil’s voice is coming out, telling you to get out and go home.
“No, Neil.” You tighten your jaw, standing firm by the bed, “I’m not leaving.”
“The fuck did you call me?” Billy’s eyes go dark, lip curling in a sneer.
“I’m not talking to you,” You inform him, “I’m talking to him. He’s in your head, Billy. I know you don’t want me to leave.”
“Yes I do,” He seethes, “You- You’re being unreasonable!”
“No, I’m not.” You shake your head, sitting on the edge of his bed and watching as he stands by the door like a caged animal, “I’m telling you that I’m allowed to meet with my science partner in the library after class to work on our project, and that nothing romantic will happen between us.”
“You’re going to a dimly-lit, secluded place with another man after school hours! You could just do it in class, or work in the park, with people around.”
“The teacher isn’t giving us class time, and we need it to be quiet or else we won’t be able to focus. The library is the perfect place.”
“Yeah,” Billy scoffs, sounding just as intimidating as his father, “I bet he said that, too. Perfect place to make a move.”
“If he makes a move, I’ll leave.” You reason, watching Billy roll his eyes. He turns for the door, presumably to usher you out or storm off for a smoke break, “Because I leave when I’m upset or uncomfortable. Which is why I’m still here, Billy,” You call out to your boy, desperately hoping he can wrestle his father away and take the wheel, “Because I’m not upset with you for something that your father did to you. I know it’s him, telling you that everyone you love will leave you. But I’m not going to, because I know you don’t want me to. You want me to stay, and I will, Billy. I’ll stay.”
His hand goes slack against the doorknob where it’s half-turned, and he freezes. He turns, only his head, to glance back at you where you’re sitting on the bed, eyes scared and defeated, coated in a layer of tears, “You’ll stay?”
You know he means it double. He wants to know that you’ll stay on his bed, you won’t storm out and tell him never to call you again. But he also wants to know you won’t up and leave for the boy from your science class, that if given the chance, even after you’ve seen the worst of him, you won’t have anyone else.
“I’ll stay,” You repeat, nodding and holding a hand out for him.
He hesitates to take it. You know Neil is fighting, kicking and shouting and hitting and punching. Name-calling, pansy, pussy, good-for-nothing, disappointment. But your boy wins out, hands on the wheel once more, voice restored in his throat, albeit a bit shaky.
“I’m sorry,” He croaks, shuffling over the carpet in his heavy boots to approach you, “I shouldn’t have said all that shit.”
He takes a deep breath before he holds your hand, and you reward him for doing it with a soft brush of your thumb over his skin. You pull, leading him to sit beside you on the bed. He blinks back tears, rapidly so, but they win in the end, and one slips from his eye.
“Fuck,” He hisses, rushing to smear his sleeve against his eye, “I- I don’t know why I was angry at you.”
“It’s because he wants you to be, Billy.” You murmur, rubbing a soft hand over his back, “He wants you to think that you’re some chronic fuck-up. He wants you to think everyone is going to leave you, because he won’t, and then you’ll think he’s good for it. But he’s not good for treating you like this, Billy, for doing this to you. He stays because he has power over you, but I stay because I love you. You know that, right? That I love you?”
“Yeah,” He breathes, nodding where his head is buried in his hands, “I know. And I.. love you, too.”
That’s big for Billy. He’s a show-not-tell kinda guy, because telling hasn’t seemed to matter in the past. He told his mom a thousand times, but she’s not here now, is she? So he shows you, and you know it. He just doesn’t always tell you, and that’s how you know you’ve gotten through to him.
“Let me see your face,” You plead, slipping your hand out of his own to take his cheek, “Please?”
He lets you turn his head, but he can’t look you in the eyes with tears on his face.
You lean in, and when your lips approach his eyes, he shuts them. You press your lips soft, light as a feather, to his eyelids, his wet lashes leaving stains on your skin. There’s a glistening tear beneath his right eye, and you kiss it away for good measure.
When he opens his eyes again, he’s looking at you. He looks at his tears shining on your lips, reaches out to wipe the liquid away, and lets his hand linger on your face.
“I’m sorry I ruined our night.” He repeats, “This was supposed to be nice.”
“It’s okay. It can still be nice, it’s not ruined. Arguing doesn’t ruin things,” You promise Billy, “You apologized, and I know you’re sorry, and I forgive you. So I still want to have a nice night with you.”
He doesn’t have anything to say, not with words, but he nods, bumping his nose against your cheek. It means he wants to have a nice night with you, too.
“What do you wanna do, Billy?” You ask, smiling and chasing his nose with your cheek when he tries pulling away. It means that you’re leaned against him now, and he dares to drop a kiss to the pudge of your cheek.
“Would you, uh..” He hesitates, but powers through, condemning his dad to silence, “Would you read to me?”
You nod, “What book, handsome?”
“Any- I don’t care,” He shakes his head, letting you stand and cross to his very minimal bookshelf, mostly books he’s had to read for school, “I just wanna hear your voice.”
When you settle back in bed it’s with The Crucible, a book that you’re currently reading in English, and that he’s definitely behind on. You sit first, backed up against the wall and slouched slightly, and he lays on his stomach, his head resting on your stomach. His hands wind around your thighs and lock him in place, and his eyes are drifting shut before you’ve even cracked the cover.
Before you can start, he squeezes your thighs, “Y/N?”
“Yeah?” You hum, brushing a hand through his hair to get a stray curl out of his face.
“Thank you. For staying,” He clarifies, speaking into your stomach because he doesn’t know if he can look you in the eye, “And forgiving me.”
“I love you, Billy.” You hope he realizes that that’s your answer, that’s why you stayed, that’s why you forgave him, and you feel him smile into the skin of your stomach through your shirt. You think he got your message, “I’ll always stay.”

Thinking of the future: Namor x fem! reader
Tumblr media
Namor sees you reading to a group of Talokonil children and can't help but imagine starting a little family with you one day.
@kpopgirlbtssvt Thank you for the request. I adore it so much!! Let me know if I did your request justice :)
-------
Before you had gotten married to Namor and chosen to live with him permanently, you were a teacher. A first grade teacher, to be exact. Being a teacher had always been your dream and when you had gotten the job at this nice school about ten minutes from your home, it was a dream come true.
You had become one of the best teachers at the school. The kids had loved you, and the teachers had grown to appreciate you, and you had become pretty close with a lot of them.
"How do you do it?" Sandra, the fourth grade teacher, questions, while you stroll down hte hall together.
"Do what?"
She chuckles: "How do you get those kids to love you so much? My kids don’t love me half as much as yours love you. So, how do you do it?"
You glance at her with a smile.
"I'm not sure how I do it. I guess i'm a natural?" which, in turn, earns a chuckle from her.
"Very true."
For the years that you were a first grade teacher, you had become like a mother to a few of them. They would go to you about anything even though they were first graders. You had felt like you had become like a mother to them, that you had some sort of responsibility for them.
Then came the day when everything changed.
-
You press your hands to the railing of the ship peering out at the water. It's day two of your cruise and so far it has been pretty amazing: you have been wanting to go on this cruise for a while now and finally with the given vacation time, you had gladly taken it.
The ship jerks backwards suddenly, pushing you backwards, your back hitting the nearby wall. "What the hell?-" without any time to react it jerks forward and you're sent off the side of the ship and into the freezing cold water.
The waves toss the ship around create chaos inside. You are pulled away from the ship and as you struggle against the waves, the current grows stronger. These waves had come out nowhere because one minute ago everything had been fine, but now it clearly isn't.
You consider yourself a strong swimmer but right now that doesn’t help. The waves are stronger than before, they pull you underneath, choking you, leaving you weak.
The possibility of death slips into your mind: there's no one to help you. No one even knows that you had fallen in the water because you don't know anyone there, and you were alone when you fell in.
CRASH
The ship is rocked harder, and the screams, while distant, still send chills up your spine. You're pulled back into your current situation when you're pulled back under the water, and as it weighs heavy on your chest, it becomes clear that there's no way of getting out of this. You're going to die, unless someone helps, and that's highly unlikely.
So as you wait for the inevitable, your vision starts to blur, and you begin to slip away.
-----
"Ba'ax yaan viva (is she alive?)."
"Táan kíimil (is she dead?)
"Máax leti'e'(who is she?)"
You slowly open your eyes to a bunch of children huddled around you talking. However these children are different, they definitely don't look like normal children. They also speak in a different language, and while you can't fully understand them, you are able to pick up certain words.
"Ba'ax ku yúuchul wa teen- (what if I)."
"Paalalo'ob (children)." A soft voice grabbing your attention, which belongs to someone you also aren't familiar with. He crosses his arms, raising an eyebrow.
"P'at in le dama tu Jets' óolal (leave the lady alone)."
A few glances exchanged and some words to the mysterious man and then they quickly scramble out of the room. Why though? Who is this person? Where are you?
"Who..."
"I am the one who saved you from drowning."
He isn't familiar, at all. It's a bit confusing because you hadn't seen him on the ship and you hadn't seen anyone swimming towards you before you supposedly died. Supposedly because now you aren't dead because of him.
"...what?”
The man chuckles, and as he leans against something, he replies.
"I saw you drowning while I was swimming. I...could not let that happen."
He may hate the surface and those who reside on it, but he isn't as heartless to just let someone drown. He shall deal with everything else later but for now he will let you rest: besides you don't seem to be a threat, or even scared of him. In shock? Yes. but scared? no.
"Thank you..."
While you don't know who he is, you're grateful he had saved you. He could have just let you drown but he didn't, and that means a lot. The man nods, "you are welcome." and as he looks away from you, he tells you his name.
"My people call me K'uk'ulkan, but my enemies call me Namor. You may choose what you would like to call me.", and, then, he walks off.
K'uk'ulkan? why does that name sound...familiar? Nevermind that right now. You rather decide to just rest and you'll put your mind at work later on. Laying back down on the very comfortable bed, that you hadn't noticed until that moment, you close your eyes.
-
As you rest up, and during your stay there, you find yourself learn about Namor. About his home, and about how he is how he is. How he has pointed ears and ankles on his wings. How he is able to live as long as he can, and about his culture. You find out about his hate for 'surface dweller's', and he explains what his name means, too.
When you're finally rested up enough to leave, he takes you up to the surface. You thank him again, for everything, and you think that will be the last time you meet. Though you find yourself unable to get your mind off of him, finding that he's left such an effect on you that you find yourself even dreaming about him.
Namor also feels the same way. So much so that his duties as king are disrupted by the thoughts of you. He hates that he's feeling this way for a surface dweller because he has lived to hate surface dwellers. You are...different, though. He has never met a surface dweller like you, or anyone like you.
Eventually you meet again. The beginning of your friendship, and the future together you will eventually have.
-----
"Ts'o'ok a li'iskaba? (are you ready)?"
You look up at Attuma, who looks down at you with a soft smile. He's walking you down the aisle, you had asked him a week ago to. He was the only person who came to mind that you had wanted to walk you down the aisle, and you couldn't stop smiling when he said yes. Now, as you stand there holding onto his arm, everything is perfect.
Blinking back the tears, you nod.
"I'm ready."
When you enter the room, everyone falls silent. Your goregous crimson dress trails behind you as you walk slowly towards your soon-to-be-husband, who now looks at you, and his mouth falls open in awe.
This is the first time you have seen eachother since yesterday as it's tradition to not see one-another until the wedding day, and you are so happy you waited. Unable to hide the smile on your lips, you look up at Attuma, and then back to K'uk'ulkan who's trying to hide the tears.
You come to a halt in front of him, and Attuma lets you go to join his king's side. Namor moves closer to you and you can see the amount of love he has in his eyes, and how he's not sure what to say as he's still in awe. K'uk'u'lkan, the man who always knows what to say to make you speechless, is speechless instead. i
"A wilik (you look).." he takes your hands in his, "...perfecto."
"Thank you my love. You look perfect, too."
You press your head to his for a moment, parting so the ceremony could continue and you could get married.
On the surface you would usually have a priest read out the next words but since you're underwater and this is a different type of ceremony, you instead will be taking a herb. The same herb his mother had take.
Someone comes over, herb in hand, so Namor takes the herb. You look at it, and then into his eyes again: when you take it you'll no longer be able to live on water, but you don't care. Wherever he is, you'll be. Plus with the added effect of living for as long as he does, that's even more perfect.
"Let us say our vows before you do this, in yakunaj (my love).”
A lot of tears are shed during the vows and once you are officially married, which feels surreal, you take the herb.
It feels like it's only you and Namor in the room. You don't take your eyes off him, and you don't want to. All you want to do is look at him.
"Are you ready?”
A soft sigh falls from your lips, but you smile.
"I'm ready..."
He leans forward and presses a soft kiss to your lips, while his other hand slips into your right one. When he parts he kisses you again, this time on your temple, and once he parts again, he nods. "Okay."
You bring the herb to your lips, pausing, then you take it.
You don't really remember what happens after that, all you can remember is Namor wrapping his arms around you and laying you down on the ground. How he cradles your head in his hands and mutters words. He doesn't leave you, not once, he just stays by your side through it all.
From then on you live with him, permanently, and as time goes on it's like you had always lived there.
-
"Uláak, Uláak (Another one, another one)."
One of the children shakes you, excited, while the other children seem to agree with their friend.
"Béet! (Please)." you put a hand on his shoulder, chuckling.
"Béet."
Pulling your hand away you move back, bringing your hands together
"U tojol, u tojol, in wa'alik ti' teech láak' (Okay okay. I'll tell you another story.") so the children get more settled, and you clear your throat. Looking around at each of them, you begin.
"Erar u juntéene', ti' jump'éel lu'um náach, yaan juntúul x-"(Once upon a time, in a far away land, there was a girl)
Namor is out doing king duties, so you had decided to occupy your time. When you had come across one of the children, upset, you had decided to tell them a story to hopefully help. It did, and before long other children around had decided to join and listen.
The story was about a princess, who were tasked with retrieving three items that would help restore the kingdom to it's rightful state. They had faced a lot of challenges and obstacles but in the end had found the items and returned just in time to save the kingdom.
When you were a first grade teacher the children loved this story and would ask you to tell you it even though you had a million times. So to see the same excitement and love for this story, like your first graders, warms your heart.
Now, as you tell another story, you can tell that they love it too.
-
"...Ba'ax ku yúuchul ts'o'okole' (what happens next?)"
One of the children, eager, is practically jumping up and down.
"Yaan u descubrir bix k'áatal le ja'o'... (She has to figure out how to get across the water)." eager eyes and eager ears follow the story.
"... Bey u Il ti' u paach, ka ju'une (so she looks around, and suddenly)" raising a finger, you look around at each of them. "Leti' ts'o'ok u yilik máak yéetel le alguien jach... nojoch máaktal Jones (she has spotted someone, and that someone is...old man Jones!)"
They all gasp in surprise, "Ba'ax nojoch máaktal Jones?! (old man jones?!)
"...Je'el (yes!)!" you continue. "...ts'o'ok suut tumen venganzahe (he has come back for revenge)."
So focused on telling the story, you don't even hear when your husband enters. He doesn't say anything, rather interested in the conversation going on between you and the children.
"Ma'! (No!)." one of talokan's youngest jump, eyes wide.
"...ka bey u yojel yaan u resolver jump'éel ba'aland (and so she knows she has to figure something out)."
Clapping your hands together, "...ka séeb (and soon)."
Namor knows you used to be a teacher. You had told him stories about your time as a first grade teacher, and about how the children loved you. He has seen you with the children countless times and how they have acted like you were their mother, and it has warmed his heart.
He watches on with a smile, unable to push away the feeling of wanting his own kid, or kids. He has thought about this for a while now, but right now? Right now that want grows strong and all he can imagine is you reading to your own kid/s
"Leti' (she)- K'uk'u'lkan?"
Holding up your hand, you wave to him, and that smile he loves so much is present on your lips. The children look over at him, copying your actions, which he finds precious.
"Ba'ax ku yúuchul waye' (what's happening here?)"
"Le Reina k táan u xookik (The queen is reading to us)."
"Je'el! (Yeah!)." one of the other children agree. "...Uts tin t'aan le k'ajláayo' (I love the story)."
"Kux tuun teech? (do you?)."
Almost in sync they all go 'yeah', earning a chuckle from both of you.
"Ch'e'eno'... (well)" he nods, "Leti' je'el táanil, chéen taan waye' (she can continue, I will just be over here)." then, to only you, he mouths, "I love you." and you mouth 'I love you too' back with a smile.
Namor has thought about wanting kid/s for a while now, but it wasn't really a big deal. Right now, though? Looking at you being like a mother to these children makes him imagine about starting your own little family one day. Makes him imagine about you reading to your kid/s one day, and how you would just both be amazing parents.

we gotta stop telling moms* to learn to ask for and accept help
this is a pseudo-mental-health bullshit way of subtly individualizing a multilayered structural and societal (often classist) problem wherein people in general, parents especially, mothers specifically, and neurodivergent mothers to the extreme, are left to fend for ourselves in ways that are frankly unprecedented in the history of human beings
I'm sure there are people who struggle to ask for help. (I've never been one of them.) What I'm saying is, even if they could learn to, it wouldn't solve anything!
Let's look at the assumptions behind "you need to learn to ask for help!"
That there's someone to ask. Who tf are we meant to be asking? If you live in a culture where families have scattered, you might not have any family nearby. Maybe you're lucky enough to have a partner, but if so, I feel like we can already assume you're asking for help from them, and them from you. (If you're not, that's a whole separate issue.) But often the overwhelm isn't such that an equitable division of labor between two parents can solve the problem. I have one non-partner family member nearby whom I can ask for help, and that actually feels pretty lucky.
That people you ask will agree to help. I recently messaged the entire school community list begging someone to drive one of my kids home on Wednesdays, figuring that many people must be going in that direction anyway and surely someone would be willing to stop the car and let my kid out at the end of my street. When I didn't get any responses from the wider community, I sent a smaller plea to the parents in my kids' classes. Nothing! Nada!
That our problems are such that others can (easily) help. There's a tragic het script that's like "I don't bother to ask him for help because I end up doing more work to get him to help than it would've been to do myself" (and yes that's fucked), but that's not even what I'm pointing to here. There are so many ways that the structures of our society make it so that people can't get help from others. School pickup, for example: most schools have policies that only parent/guardians or someone given prior permission can pick up students. If a parent is unexpectedly in a jam, this makes finding help a lot trickier and probably involves calling the school and trying to grant last-minute permission. Helping a kid with homework, for example: No matter what I do, teachers email/call me. This means that if I assign this task to my partner or some other person, I have to constantly be an in-between who is like, the arbiter of information. Going to the pharmacy: once I went to the pharmacy to help a neighbor with a kid who had been vomiting for 12 hours straight, and it was so difficult. First I had to pick up their insurance card, write down the kid's name, dob, etc. I still didn't know half the answers to things they asked me as I painstakingly eventually managed to pick up this kid's prescription.
That you have money to pay for outsourcing. Often, when it comes down to it, the only way our society seamlessly allows for help is through monetizing the tasks. It's possible to hire housecleaners or a nanny, for example. You can pay for grocery delivery. But (even if you're totally fine with becoming an employer, which I've never been) is that financially within reach for most people? No!!!
That the tasks that are hardest for you are tasks that can be outsourced. With adhd, my biggest chore struggles are getting myself to water the plants and getting myself to fill the pill organizers. These are not the easiest chores to get help with! I mean, even laundry would be easier, as you could chuck it all into a giant bag and hand it over to a service to be washed. But plants? They're all over my house and on different watering schedules. The pill organizers? That's controlled substances (Adderall, baby) and it's confusing with multiple times of day, etc -- who is going to take that on? Even my partner is too worried to get it wrong.
That, even if you have money, the service you need exists. I really want help with food preparation, but I have MCAS and specific dietary needs. Also, I don't want help with dinners (my partner does that) so much as I want help with snacks/lunch. I know what I would make if I had the energy to. There are no services in my area that could help me. I guess I could hire a personal chef, but I can't even begin to afford that and even then, many wouldn't work bc they're not all willing to work with different dietary needs. I tried finding something I could order by mail, but there's nothing that's a great fit and it's all too expensive for me.
The problem is not that moms don't know how to ask for and accept help. Every time we say that, we reinforce the idea that the problem is an individual one, that the fault lies with moms. It's a structural one, and it doesn't. Many of us are well aware of how to ask for help. If we aren't asking, it's because we know it's futile.
*The choice to gender this as "moms" is a conscious one, even though it also applies to some men and nb people. In my view, it really is a gendered problem that overwhelmingly affects women who are mothers. Because of that, generalizing to "people" or "parents" seems to me like it would be watering down the problem, at best, or erasing the gendered component of the problem, at worst. We also shouldn't say "you need to learn to ask for help" to dads, nonbinary parents, and non-parents—but we generally don't say that to those groups anyway! The vast majority of the time, I see this being said specifically to mothers. Moreover, the response that dads get to asking for help is often different. A dad asking for help strikes people as going above and beyond and is therefore more likely to trigger people to actually help him. Think about dads whose wife goes out of town and all these people bring him casseroles. Our society is often really good at giving some help—but only in extreme cases (emergencies like acute sickness or hospital stays, grief, ….a dad alone with kids for some reason, etc), and moms asking for help with mundane things simply does not count as a justification for help in most people's minds.

this, for now — bc
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
synopsis. after 12 years, you reunite with your childhood best friend, chan, who comes back home from his idol life in korea.
pairing. childhoodfriend!chan x gn!reader
format. imagine
word count. 1.5k
a/n. this could also be seen as platonic...i believe. there’s nothing explicitly romantic, just two very close old friends yearning for each other. kind of bittersweet, too.
Tumblr media
"do you remember when we'd go here after school?"
it’s maybe a few minutes before sunset and you’re walking around your old childhood neighborhood with someone you never thought would see again this soon: chan, your old childhood friend. the streets are painted a strange tone of nostalgia; it’s like you’re walking through hazy memories, dream-like and familiar. sometimes, you’ll spot a house or a street corner that sends you back to your 13-year-old self so strongly, you feel as if you’ve shifted to the past. but then, you look to your left and you see chan, who has so obviously grown up, and you remember all the time that has passed.
he’s grown taller, of course, with broader shoulders and bigger arms. he’s lost most of his baby fat in his face—his jawline is much more apparent, as are all of the sharp angles in his features. you can almost barely recognize him. almost, because you don’t think you could ever forget the little things in chan’s appearance that make him who he is. he smiles and there's something about it that makes you ache—there’s your old best friend again, happy and smiley.
.
.
chan’s pointing to a convenience store up ahead when he asks his question. the storefront hasn't changed a bit——still displaying its ice cream cooler next to the front entrance, its 3-for-1 cough drop deal, and its blue and yellow ATM. you could find your way through the aisles in your sleep, despite the 12 years that have passed since the last time you and chan slipped in, exhausted after a long school day, and left with candy and soft drinks. sometimes, you'd spend the afternoon at the nearby park, the sun on your face and the grass under your thighs as you complained about your teachers and took turns trying to catch m&m's in your mouths. other times, you'd head straight to chan's house and play games in his living room, even staying for dinner.
"of course, i remember," you tell him. “it hasn’t been that long.”
maybe 12 years isn’t that long. maybe it is. it feels long, that you know for sure.
in those past 12 years, you've watched chan move to seoul and follow his dream of becoming an idol, growing more talented and more mature with each comeback photo and video that pops up on your social media. in between your busy days, you could only catch glimpses of his rapidly-evolving career and his sudden rise to stardom. with each stray kids photo you saw, the chan you knew so intimately appeared to turn more and more into a stranger. the boy from your childhood grew into a man and you weren't even there to see it.
but he returns to australia after all these years and he smiles at you and suddenly, he's the same 13-year-old who swore, pinky interlocked with yours, that he'd never stop being your best friend. he was chris again.
and you tried. of course, you tried to keep in touch. he cried in your arms before he left for the airport and promised to call you every day. but being a trainee was busy and being an idol was busier and you had to grow up and move to college and find your own future too, so, after a while, his daily calls became weekly, then monthly, then a rarity. you learned more about his life through stray kids youtube videos than you did through his own words. and you were so happy for him, of course. but you missed him so fucking much.
“do you remember all of our sleepovers?” you ask, praying he does.
please remember us. please remember me. please tell me i still have a place in your life.
he doesn’t even take a moment to think: “yes, yes i do.” he’s grinning now. “we’d basically live out of each other’s houses for a week, just: school, your house, games, dinner, sleep, wake up, school, my house, listen to music, dinner, sleep. god, that was fun.”
“remember hannah would always say—”
“that you were basically her other sibling?” chan finishes with a laugh. “yeah, i think she saw you and me together more than she saw just me alone sometimes.”
you laugh with him. “she said she couldn’t imagine anything pulling us apart.”
“yeah,” chan concedes. “i couldn’t imagine anything either.”
the both of you fall into a sudden silence that’s tinted with an awkwardness that would’ve never existed when you were both 13 and inseparable. it’s a silence of grief, mourning the past determination to stay best friends forever and never leave each other’s sides. during those sleepovers, you’d brainstorm the rest of your lives together—how you’d live in the same dorm in college, then get an apartment together, adopt a dog, and grow up side-by-side.
was it foolish that you believed in it? was it always just wishful thinking? over those years spent apart, you’d ponder what could’ve been—what your life would look like if chan never moved. it was always bittersweet and you found yourself longing too much so you decided to stop. there’s no point in thinking about what could’ve been—it isn’t, so just focus on what is. and ‘what is’ is a life where chan lives across the ocean and you’re creating your own separate worlds. the too-harsh reality.
"god, you have no idea how much i missed this," chan admits with a sigh, looking up to the sky that was slowly turning shades of pink and orange.
you offer a chuckle. “yeah, it’s nice to be home, i guess.”
"no, no," he begins. "well, yes—i missed my family like crazy, like you wouldn’t believe—but i’m talking about this." he gestures to the both of you. "us. i missed us."
"oh.” somehow, you weren’t expecting that. “well, someone moved away," you say with feigned accusation.
he lets out a laugh. "i did, didn't i?” he thinks for a moment. “i don't regret it. i love my boys, i love our fans, i love what we're doing. i just…i miss you,” he says, plain and simple. “and i wish there was some way that i could've had it all. you're the one thing that's missing from my life.”
during the times you pondered what could’ve been, you always came to the conclusion that you were the only one thinking about it, that chan had forgotten you. it hurt a bit, but you thought it was the best way to see it if you wanted to move on from the past.
but this—you're the one thing that's missing from my life. fuck. you didn’t even realize how much you had been aching to hear that chan still thinks about you. fuck, how can you move on?
"i wish you could've had it all, too. i miss you. so fucking much.”
he sighs. "and there's no way for you to somehow have the urge to relocate to seoul?"
you laugh. "i want to, believe me when i say that. but..."
he nods. "but."
"i have a life, too, you know. a job. friends. i can't just leave."
"i know, i know. i just—"
"me too." you offer a sad smile. "me too."
the sky turns pinker as the sun sets. the neighborhood grows dimmer.
“so what now?” chan asks.
“what do you mean?”
“i miss you, you miss me, what are we supposed to do now?”
“is there anything we can do?” from the way his expression falls, you can tell he was hoping for a more optimistic answer. “we’ve spent so long cultivating these lives exclusive of each other, is there any way to weave one another into them?”
“you could move to seoul…”
“i can’t.”
“i could move back—”
“you won’t.”
“i could—”
“no, you couldn’t. and you won’t. i know you won’t and you know i won’t let you.”
“i know.” he sighs. “i know.”
“i think this is all we can have.”
“this?”
“this—you and me, coincidentally back home at the same time for a few days, reminiscing for a bit, then parting ways again.”
he nods, reluctantly agreeing because it’s true, as unfortunate as it is. “for now,” he adds optimistically. “maybe, one day, we can figure it out.”
“maybe,” you say, not thinking you’d believe it. but as you say it, maybe foolishly, you find a little hope.
“i’ll take it. i’ll take what i can have. i’ll have this, for now.”
he offers a smile and who are you to not give him one back?
