Moon Slave, Extra🌙 (Monsta X mini fic)

The next morning.

"Hyungwon-ah... Chae Hyungwon" he continued without answering.

"Woonie? Do you hear us? Woonie?"

Minhyuk and Kihyun tried to make him react without success. The black-haired man had turned back into a human when the first rays of the sun touched his skin, but his mind was gone. He woke up stunned, naked and between broken chains. They barely dressed him and sat him in the living room, watching him with anguish and not knowing what to do.

"He broke the chains," Kihyun muttered under his breath, full of nerves. "He doesn't react to anything."

"His mind... He fragmented a lot, I've never... seen him like this... he can't even talk" Hoseok expressed concern.

Before, Hyungwon would stay in a trance for at least 15 minutes and start talking, only slowly and wilder; but now it's different, he hasn't reacted or said any words for almost 3 hours, only canine sounds.

"Wow! His eyes are completely golden" Minhyuk exclaimed in surprise.

"It seems that he is... thinking..." Kihyun observed curiously.

"Normally, if his mind fragments, it's because he's reliving a trauma from the past" Changkyun pointed out, remembering something important that he read somewhere.

The black-haired man was sitting like a rag doll, his gaze lost on the horizon, reliving his memories, letting out an occasional whine, growl or any kind of animal whimper, the sounds alien to him, sometimes scaring the boys. Hyungwon felt that his mind touched a part of his memory that affects him a lot, letting out a pitiful moan.

“Then what do we do?” Kihyun asked sadly, stroking Hyungwon's hair a bit.

"Keep calling him, taking care of him, attending to him... That must be done. There is no other way" the youngest explained seriously.

The group continued their attempts for another hour, snorting in exhaustion every time they saw them fail. However, Hyungwon heard something that caught his attention.

"And if we call Youngmin?" Minhyuk had released the question into the air without thinking much.

"You know he doesn't want that, and she... She's far away, studying, I don't think she'll come..." Kihyun started lowering his voice.

"No, I know he's running out of time but he hasn't heard from her for a week, and maybe that's what's making him more irritable."

Hyungwon reacted to his partner's name prompting him to speak.

"Young...min, You...Youngmin" his voice came out hoarse and tight, his words difficult to articulate, he looked up with hopeful golden eyes.

"He… he spoke." Kihyun exclaimed in surprise.

"RIGHT! His chosen partner is far away and hardly calls! That is a horrible feeling for any lycan" Hoseok exclaimed, snapping his fingers. "We should try calling her!"

What he heard moved Hyungwon a bit, they were going to call his destined couple, that filled him with hope.

Changkyun took his cell phone and began to dial the girl's number. He was going to try a video call. When it began to ring, he placed the phone in front of Hyungwon, who began to fidget between excited and nervous, if he had a tail he would have been moving it from one side to the other.

His hopes rose up on the third ring, but died on the seventh, and he began to feel despair on the eleventh. He began to let out pitiful groans and growls, looking at Changkyun with a sad frown on his face.

"Wait, wait... Let's try again." And so he did.

The second time he tried it, the black-haired man looked more anxious, his back tense and somewhat hunched, as if he was going to get frustrated. His growls grew in his throat but died when his girlfriend's face appeared on the screen. Hyungwon got up quickly, panting and ready to enter the device but Hoseok and Kihyun grabbed him, stopping him, this made him growl in frustration.

“Youngmin-ah!” Changkyun exclaimed.

"Sorry guys, my cell phone drowned and I had to wait a week for a replacement, I'm really sorry I didn't contact you" she replied embarrassed. She was walking in a hurry and suffocated in a place with a lot of people.

"No problem... Hmm... I see you're in a bit of a hurry, is everything alright?"

"Yes, yes. It's a bit... noisy today at college. Is everything alright with Hyungwonie? Last night was a full moon" she asked somewhat anguished.

"Well...it grew in his transformation...again" the youngest let out a loud gasp on the other end of the line, feeling somewhat afflicted.

"And today he woke up in that trance that sometimes happens to him." He placed the mobile near the anxious black-haired man who only looked at her, tilting his head.

"Young...min...Youngmin..." he growled her name fascinated.

"He has only said your name, he has been like this for almost 4 hours."

"FOUR HOURS? Awww Hyungwon~" she moaned in anguish.

"I know, too much. But... can you give us a hand? Perhaps not having seen you has also pushed him into a trance, you can try to get him out."

Changkyun positioned the phone in front of the lycanthrope's face, who moved when he saw his beloved girl, tilting his head from one side to the other and his eyes full of wonder. His heart skipped a beat as he heard her speak.

"Hyungwonie~ honey, how are you? How are you feeling?" He didn't understand a word, but that sweet tone of voice was calming him, slowly distracting him from the darkness of his thoughts.

"Can you tell me how you feel, love?" He insisted on trying to make him talk.

"O...Okay," he replied with difficulty, his voice sounding raspy and containing his growls.

"That's good, sweetheart. Would you like to breathe with me?" The black-haired man nodded slowly, his eyes shining with joy.

The brunette began to do breathing exercises with her boyfriend, slowly, inhaling and exhaling together, and even made him close his eyes.

"I'm still here, even if you can't see me, honey. Come on, keep breathing with me love, you're doing sooooo good~. You're safe, nothing's going to happen to you." she expressed her contentment continuing the exercises.

They continued like that for about 10 more minutes until she heard that his breathing no longer sounded so raspy, but more human.

"My darling, open your eyes for me" she asked him hopefully.

Everyone gasped in surprise and relief at the sight of Hyungwon's brown orbs, and no longer the golden ones of the wolf.

"Youngmin…? Thank you. Really, thanks.” His voice sounded scratchy, but human.

Kihyun and Hoseok released him and Changkyun let him take the phone.

"I was so scared"

"Calm down, baby, it's over now. Thanks to you for coming back to us" she smiled sweetly at him, lulling the black-haired with her words.

“I miss you so much, when are you coming back?” he asked, holding onto the phone.

"Soon love, soon." Voices were heard and a kind of announcement that caught the girl's attention.

"Hyungwonie, I have to hang up, I'm sorry I didn't contact you sooner. Please take care of yourself" she pleaded sweetly.

"You too. And please, come back soon.” He didn't want to push her, but her fear and longing were taking control of her words.

"I will. Thanks for calling me guys. Take care, see you soon" she waved to everyone before hanging up.

Hyungwon remained clinging to the mobile for a few long and tortuous seconds, until he returned it to his owner. He dropped into the chair and realized that his whole body hurts like hell.

"Ow, it hurts..." he complained, stretching slowly.

"Don't evene say it. It would hurt anyone to grow 3 meters in one night" Changkyun exclaimed but then regretted it when he saw Hyungwon's alarmed expression.

"Three meters?! It just can't be! I grew three meters?!" the older one yelled, getting up from the chair.

"Last moon I measured 2 meters! My God! Hyung!” He asked for answers from Kihyun, who was just trying to get him to sit down again.

"Yes, first I need you to calm down...please" he put his hands on his chest, trying to sit him down.

"No" Hyungwon took his hands with some force.

"Tell me now, hyung, please."

The blonde looked at him surprised, because his grip hurt, which means only one thing.

"Your strength has increased. It hurts." he told him in a whisper.

Hyungwon gasped in surprise, letting go. He looked down at his hands, opening and closing his palms several times, for him it was a normal grip, vut it wasn't.

"Yes, I know, it wasn't on purpose. Calm down." The minor fell into the chair feeling that he was turning pale with nerves.

"Hyungwonie...mmm...Well...You went into a trance again, but...I noticed that you went into a trance during the transformation."

“Wh-what?” he asked with a shaky voice.

"The wolf grew and took on more power, not because you accepted it, but because you let yourself be dominated by it," he expressed anguished, placing a hand on the black-haired man's knee.

"You behaved like an Alpha, you gave yourself to primitive pleasure."

"Pleasure? Do you mean that..."

"Yes, you enjoyed the change, and you wanted more and more. You were drunk with power and savagery, you accepted the transformation but in exchange for your sanity. That fragmented your mind again making you last almos four hours in a trance" a shiver ran down Hyungwon's back, he gasped and looked at Minhyuk when he began to speak.

"Mmmm... the good thing is that... Your consciousness became more united with that of the wolf in your human form, it's like..."

"It gives you more physical and mental strength for certain things, and helps you in others. Although... if you let yourself go you can be somewhat... aggressive." Kihyun pointed out again.

"God... my God... No!" I don't like violence! I don't want power! I just want to be ME!” He covered his face and pulled his hair hard, however, he noticed something. "My hair... is... longer???"

"Mmmm yes, that is something that we will consult with Mr. Kang. You're supposed to look weaker and sick after a full moon but it turns out you're not, you're in pain, yes, but you look healthy and even stronger." Changkyun showed his reflection with a hand mirror to confirm what he was saying.

His hair, which had previously been at the beginning of his neck, was now at the beginning of his shoulders, glossy jet black, his brows thicker.

He had always been lean and somewhat toned, but now his shoulders were even broader and he carried a bit more muscle, making him look more robust, in contrast to his fine, delicate facial features.

He looked at himself in surprise, moving the mirror from one side to the other, he stroked his hair slowly, he looked at his neck, his clavicle, his shoulders, his chest... he looks different, but at the same time not, and it's strange for him.

"God, I feel so weird..." he exclaimed in a low voice.

"This is bad, I'm looking more like a beast..."

"No, hyung. You're looking more like what you are, a lycan, and a handsome and powerful one." Hoseok replied showing a little smile.

"Powerful?"

"You measure almost 4 meters in your wolf form, and you let out some terrifying howls, you even made the house tremble!" Changkyun exclaimed, ignoring the signs that Kihyun made him to shut up.

"Did I do that?" the black-haired man was more afraid when he saw how the minor nodded.

"Yeah. You don't remember anything? Minhyunk and Kihyun hyung would swear that your consciousness was there but dominated by the beast"

"I..." he frowned, thinking, trying to remember the events of the night before.

He remembers the pain, the anxiety, his own screams, the anguish, but there is something else... He remembers fighting the change, until he didn't anymore, and he only felt adrenaline, pleasure, strength...

"I remember the power. I remember feeling powerful, it hurt but I liked it. I enjoyed it, that's…horrible…but I felt like I could do everything, I had so much adrenaline built up inside of me, I felt euphoric, excited and…hungry.” He couldn't avoid the crooked smile that crossed his lips at the memory of the sensation, his stomach suddenly growled loudly and he looked up in embarrassment.

"Sorry, I'm really hungry." He smiled awkwardly. But the expression of his friends left him confused. "What"

"Your eyes… They turned golden for a moment." Hyungwon's expression broke down at Hoseok's words.

"Wh-what?"

"That's what I'm telling you. You have more lycan traits than you realize. You are learning to accept it, but you must be careful and not let it dominate you, not let yourself be controlled by those primitive instincts." Kihyun warned him again.

“And how will I do that?” he asked anxiously.

"Training. We'll help you Woonie. You have to learn to manage your new strength and control your emotions." The minor nodded looking at the ground, his expression full of anxiety and conflict.

The tension between everyone could be cut with a knife, until Hyungwon's stomach roared again.

"I'm sorry," he apologized, holding his stomach.

"Okay, let's put these things aside for now and go have breakfast. Everyone must be starving, right?" They all nodded at the older man's words.

"Well, let's go eat at Aunty Hui's," he encouraged them, getting up from his chair.

Everyone got up slowly, the events of the night before had drained their energy. Hyungwon quickly went for a black sweater, then realized something.

"Wait, Guys," he called to them. "What- ... Who dressed me?", he asked nervously. They all avoided his gaze by hurrying out the door.

“Don't forget to take your keys Hyung!” Changkyun yelled, running out quickly followed by Hoseok and Minhyuk.

"Well Woonie don't ask questions you won't like the answer to," Kihyun advised him with a nervous smile before heading out the door as well.

The black-haired man was shocked for a few moments then sighed heavily and shook his head trying to ignore that, closing the door of his house.

"And I'm the weird one," he muttered under his breath, reaching for his friends.

A.N: Hi moonies~ I uploaded an Extra bc I wanted to show more of the aftermath effects of the transformation and the consequences for Hyungwon and the boys, their feelings, and of course, the anxiety lingering between them even though they're best friends.

Idk what this short work of fiction might turn out in the future, but for now, it stays like a little ff for a light reading.

Last year I wrote couple of Drabbles for Halloween and this year I decide to devote whole month October to creepy and fantasy themed drabbles with sprinkles of spice and romance.

I’ll give you list of dates with fantasy/dangerous prompts like vampire, ghoul, robot, serial killer and much more. I’ll be updating the list after every ask and will let you know if someone before you requested the same day, but I would love for you to check the list before requesting

▬ How to request?

send specific date of which prompt/au you would like plus idol of your choice (specify mainly at Saturdays since I’ll be writing 2 drabbles at Saturdays)

you can specify the division of roles (or no and can let it on me to decide), for example: In Vampire!Au you want the vampire be the reader or the idol or some third party?

you can request multiple times, but pls don’t spam and let more people to request

pls, request idol from groups I write for in request guidelines

If you won’t be aware of a certain au you can ask me and I’ll gladly explain everything

“my boyfriend got turned into a frog”

you set the jar down on the counter and step back

inside is a tiny green tree frog, sitting idly on a stick you’d picked up on your way over

hyungwon doesn’t look twice at the jar

instead he keeps his eyes on his hovering phone and whirls his finger around in a swooping motion to shut the door you’d opened on your way in

“maybe he deserved it”

he answers without making eye contact

you put your hands on your hips in offense

“what are you talking about? he got cursed by some witch -”

“nah, only bad boyfriends get turned into frogs”

he sits up and adjusts his hat, finally looking at you through sleepy eyelids

“did he forget your birthday or something?”

you purse your lips - about to let this lazy looking wizard know just how great of a guy your boyfriend really is

but when you try to think of the last actually sweet thing he’s done for you

you come up short

hyungwon notes the silence and crosses his arms

“so, what’d he do?”

“n-nothing,,,,,,,we just haven’t really been communicating well ,,,,,,, and i mean -”

you hesitate to say it

your boyfriend is in the room

(but he is in a jar)

(and he is a freaking frog)

so you’re not sure if he’ll even hear this

but hyungwon waits until you crack

“and i don’t even know if i even still like him,,,,,,,but still no one should be turned into a frog!”

hyungwon tilts his head

“are you saying that if i turn him human again, you’re going to break up with him in my store?”

you shake your head

“no, im sure we can work something out -”

“then i won’t turn him back.”

“WHAT?”

you give him an exasperated look, but hyungwon picks up his wand and points at you

you get startled, but he assures no magic can come out by just pointing

“you have to promise me you’ll break it off with him if i turn him back”

“what’s it to you, don’t i pay you for magic and you do it and i leave and we never talk again. this is my life why do you ca-”

hyungwon taps the jar with his wand

“because this sad guy is going to keep getting strung on and frog or not,,,,that’s gonna be bad for both of you”

you want to argue, but this wizard is right

actually, you’d been warned about hyungwon before

when your boyfriend got turned into a frog you called the only person you could think of

changkyun

who’d been trying to become a wizard recently, but was failing miserably and when you told him your dilemma

he recommend hyungwon with a magic shop on 514 rush street

“he comes from a long line of wizards, famous around these parts! but he’s kind of ,,,,,, uh,,,,,,, hard to work with.”

you didn’t know any other wizards so you didn’t have a choice

and now you were seeing where changkyun was going with the ‘hard to work with’

why is he saying all this stuff - i have money - just turn him back!

“listen, whatever ill break up with him sure but seriously can you or can you not turn him back?”

hyungwon smirks

the first real sign of emotion you’ve gotten from him since this conversation started

“this is baby stuff, but -”

he gets up and you realize that on his feet he’s much taller than you expect

and leaning in closer he’s much more handsome than you had realized before

eyes glinting with a sparkle that gets bigger as he continues

“but to make sure you’re not lying make me a deal”

“ok how much?”

“no, the deal is this i turn your loser boyfriend-”

you give a look and hyungwon stops himself

“the deal is ,,,, i turn him back to a human, you break up with him and,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,we go on a date”

you hold back the urge to laugh because this is a joke right?

but hyungwon is giving you the most TRANSPARENT look

“w-why do you want to go on a date with me?”

“you’re the cutest customer ive ever had.”

“what? are you playing some kind of game?”

hyungwon reaches out and touches your face slightly

you stare at him in utter shock

“hmmmmm maybe second cutest? no - definitely first.”

“you’re asking me out in front of my boyfriend?!?!”

“well he’ll be your ex and he’s um,,,,,,,,,well he’s a frog.”

you both look down at the jar

the frog is still just sitting there

you huff, confused by what hyungwon has asked but also (you hate to admit) a little flustered too

he’s pretty, and a wizard which is cool

but he’s also a stranger

“sooooooo frog boyfriend or me - which is it gonna be?”

you sigh, finally agreeing to the deal

hyungwon smiles, taking the jar and opening it

the frog jumps into his palm and he snaps his fingers, says something in latin and with a cloud of smoke

your boyfriend is back

“hey im not a frog anymore!”

he starts and you want to celebrate with him, but hyungwon gives you a look

“yay! also im breaking up with you,,,,sorry but i havent felt romantically interested in you for a while and this has really helped me see things through, i am soooo sorry”

your ex looks at you wide eyed

jaw half open

and hyungwon claps his hands

“pleasure doing business with you both! now i have a date!”

he gets up, switching his wizarding hat out for a normal cap before rounding his register and offering his hand to you

you take it, whispering another sorry! to your ex as you follow hyungwon out

“are you feeling dinner or should we just skip to dessert?”

he asks and you opt for both

hyungwon grins and says that he likes that answer

your ex just stands there like ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, someone turn me back into a frog this is so embarrassing ,,,, ribbit

Getting in the middle of one of Changkyun’s hairbrained schemes ends up with Wonho having some very enchanted and- rather emotional- hair problems. Or, the one where his hair color changes with his emotions.

You were stirring mindlessly a pot of noodles, a hefty amount to fill the gapped holes of 7 men who don’t know how to stop it eating it seems. You had a cookbook propped open on a cheap bookstand you made Hyungwon go out and buy for you one evening you came over. Balancing a cookbook and actually cooking is a chore in itself.

Of course, you could always cheat and ask one of the boys to enchant the book for you to float and follow you, they were magicians after all. All seven of the boys were magic born specimens, while you sat there a little ordinary human. Some of them used their magic for practical uses. Some used it to play tricks and have fun with. Some used it only when they were too lazy to do something.

You squawked when someone came bursting into the kitchen, screeching like the devil was on their heels.

“Y/n! Help me!” It was none other than Changkyun. Charging into the kitchen, he grabbed your shoulder and swung himself behind you. Crouching down to hide his head behind your and peeking around it. You were jerked to face the doorway, ladle in the air and cookbook no longer in view.

Then, in stormed Hoseok. With fiery red hair, as opposed to the black hair you had seen him with about 20 minutes ago. He stomped his foot, his hair basically on fire as he scolded and shouted through you to Changkyun behind you.

“Get out from behind my girlfriend you lousy piece of moldy bread before I come and physically rip your piercing out of your eyebrow you ungrateful wizard!” Clearly, he was upset.

“I said I was sorry! What more do you want!” Changkyun fought back, still masking himself behind you. In a moment’s blink, Hoseok was in front then behind you as he appeared behind Changkyun and began yanking on his ears. The youngest shrieked as he swatted at the older man’s hand, letting go of you to turn around and witness the fiasco.

“I want my hair back to how it was! That’s what I want!” The two began to bicker back and forth as Hoseok let go of his ears and were now face to face. You stood confused, but you knew that it’d be difficult to get their attention. Looking around, you walked to the knife stand. Grabbing a knife and the sharpener, you started to grate the knife along it, making a horrific sound even to your ears.

The boys stopped bickering only to whine and complain and cover their ears. Once successfully quiet, you put the two object back and picked the ladle up once more, tapping it in your opposite hand almost threateningly.

“Now, what’s the problem?” You asked, more than a little annoyed with the ruckus. Changkyun rubbed his neck as Hoseok tried to visibly calm down. And with his lowering temper, his hair started to change? The red faded from his roots down until only the tips of his hair were a vibrant orange. “Well, that was a cool party trick?”

“It is not a party trick,” Hoseok seethed, trying to not take his frustrations out on you. He sighed as he rubbed his temples, Changkyun trying to shuffle out of the kitchen to let the couple talk. “Not a move,” Hoseok commanded as Changkyun froze, whining.

Putting two and two together, you pointed at your boyfriend’s hair and the youngest and ticked up a curious brow. “So, I have a suspicion something is Changkyun’s fault.” Hoseok, not speaking just pointed upward and nodded. Changkyun from his spot in the kitchen breathed out a sentence in a whisper.

“I was messing around with potions again and I accidentally put the one I made into his shampoo bottle,” he concluded. Then Hoseok exploded again.

“How does one accidentally put potions into bottles that belong in the bathroom?!”

“I thought it was Kihyun’s okay!” Hoseok hair flared up again as you looked at him, telling him to calm down. He took breathes and did his best. Changkyun continued. “Whatever, it’s not like it’s permanent. It’s only temporary. Besides, it’s not even that bad! You’re an open book, so who cares that your hair color changes with your emotions! It’s not a bad thing.”

“That is most certainly not to point. The point is I’m pretty sure we’ve all told you before not to mess with potions anymore since you nearly blew up the microwave!”

“That was one time!”

“That’s all it takes!”

You interjected. “Okay, okay. Time out for thee and time out for thee, calm yourselves.” You shooed Changkyun away, him taking no time at all to rush out of there like he was escaping from prison. Hoseok’s hair dulled down to their tips once more, almost immediately. You chuckled as you walked to his side. “So, enchanted hair huh?” He rolled his eyes.

“Shut up,” he jested as he nudged at your side. You laughed as you went back to the pot, thankfully nothing boiled over and nothing was stuck or burnt. You went back to trying to find your place of reading, sticking the ladle back into the pot and stirring once again absentmindedly.

Hoseok had waddled up behind you, plopping his chin on your shoulder and leaning against you.

“Hoseok, get off me. You’re heavy,” you whined as he laughed. He eased his body weight and instead stood behind you, placing his hands on your waist.

“‘Get off me,’ ‘you’re heavy’? Why I’m wounded. After all the times I’ve-” he stopped mid-sentence. Wondering why you turned your vision behind you to see his hair glowing a soft pink. You gasped.

“Get your mind out of the trash can you perverted muscle man!” He whined he put his forehead on your shoulder, hiding his face, his hair growing a hot pink that was blinding to look at. You turned back to your cooking. “I mean seriously, what man get’s embarrassed by his own sex joke?”

“Y/N!” His face grew as pink as his hair.

A/N: I was inspired by my love for both Monsta X and Harry Potter to start a mini series of sorts. I’m gonna write short drabble-y pieces for each member, and maybe if they do well I’ll write longer stories:) All of these are pre-battle just for extra info. Moodboard thingy is mine lmao ik it’s really bad, but it’s one of the first ones I’ve ever made so ig it could be worse.

Shining sun, bright sky, light snow falling, today was seemingly perfect. No one had bothered you or annoyed you, your classes had gone exceptionally well, and now that they were over the day couldn’t get any better. You were on your way to the Great Hall to study when two of your friends stopped you.

“Y/N, hey!” said Nessa, walking toward you. Tyrell followed and started jogging over. As they got to where you were standing they both hugged you and started talking about classes and homework. You laughed together at a few jokes Tyrell told and Nessa’s slip up in Divination. After a few minutes you strolled into the Great Hall together.

“Nessa and I were going to Diagon Alley later, wanna come?” Tyrell asked. Taking a sip from your cup you nodded.

“I’ve gotta get a new broom and some ingredients, actually. I was going to go tomorrow, but I’d rather go with you guys anyway.” you said. Tyrell and Nessa nod and you all get back to talking about your days and reading through your notes together.

“Nessa, you jerk, give me back my wand!” Tyrell yells, chasing after your friend. You laugh at their childish behavior and wrap your scarf tighter around you. They stop fooling around and you all walked into Broomstix. The shop was pretty empty, with only a few other witches and wizards looking around. It was pretty quiet too, until Tyrell accidentally knocked some books off a shelf. Nessa shoves his shoulder and calls him a klutz. They act like a couple, you’re genuinely confused about how they aren’t dating.

Looking around you don’t see any brooms that catch your attention. It isn’t really that big of a deal, but you still wanted something that was pleasing to look at. Just as you were about to give up and grab the closest one you spot a beautiful broom near the back of the shop. It’s mounted above a few others-that aren’t as pretty- and you make a beeline for it. The broom is made up of beautiful dark oak wood, black and brown bristles, and gold lining. Perfect. As you go to grab it, another hand grabs the broomstick, next to your own. You huff out an annoyed breath and turn to the person beside you.

“Excuse me, but your hand is on my broo- Wonho?” you say as you lock eyes with the familiar face. Wonho smiles and tightens his grip on the broom. You tighten your grip as well. You both pulled it off the wall where it was mounted, and now you were holding it between your bodies.

“Fancy seeing you here, but I’m gonna need my broom, Y/N.” he says, smirking. You only tighten your grip more and pull the stick toward you. Wonho chuckles.

“It’s not your broom, it’s mine. You can let go now.” you say as he shakes his head. He mouths “not gonna happen.” and you sigh.

“Are you being serious?” You ask, clearly annoyed. You’ve known Wonho since you were both in your second year, but he’s never acted this way before. At least not with you.

“So serious. It’s first come first serve, right?” He asks. You roll your eyes at him.

“It’s a broom shop, Wonho, not a buffet. It’s ‘finders, keepers’ and I found it first.” He smiles at you and pulls the stick back from you, but not hard enough for you to lose your grip.

“I’ll have you know I’ve been here longer than you.” he says, mimicking your tone. You shrug your shoulders and shake your head.

“Doesn’t mean you found it first.” you state stubbornly. Nessa and Tyrell watch you two from the front, snickering. They both know you two have a thing for each other. Pretty much everyone does, except for the two of you.

“Fine. We’ll flip a coin then.” Wonho says, pulling one out of his pocket. You nod, placing your other hand on your hip. He tells you to call it as it flips and you say heads. As the coin falls back down, Wonho catches it his palm and makes a fist. His other hand it still holding the broom. You reach your head out to get a better look at the coin in the boys hand as his fist opens. You hum, satisfied with the results, and Wonho lowers his head, releasing the broom. Nessa and Tyrell have now joined the two of you in the back of the shop.

“You still going to get those ingredients, Y/N?” Nessa asks. You nod and she sighs. She tells you that her and Tyrell can’t make it as she smiles up at him. When you ask why, she tells you it’s because Tyrell asked her out and they’re getting butterbeer together.

“It’s about time.” Wonho says and you laugh. Nessa blushes and says goodbye to Wonho. Her and Tyrell say they’ll see you back in the common room as they leave. You look back at Wonho and start walking to the cash register.

“I’m so glad they’re finally going out.” you say, paying for the broom. Wonho nods and scratches the back of his neck.

“Yeah, I should really follow his lead.” he says. You look over at him.

“Got someone you wanna ask out?” you ask with a tinge of jealousy in your voice. Wonho doesn’t seem to notice.

“Yeah, they’ve got a real knack for stealing other people’s brooms. It takes a lot of courage to ask out a criminal.” he says, avoiding your gaze and smiling. You cross your arms as the shop owner wraps up your broom and lean against the counter, chuckling.

“Just ask them. They’d be silly to say no.” you say. Wonho looks up at you grinning as you get your broom. Thanking the owner, you and Wonho walk out of the shop side by side.

“It was my broom from the get-go, by the way.” you say, looking over at him. He laughs, blushing. “You forgot to find another one, though.” you say looking over at him. He scrunches his nose up and shakes his head.

“Ah, forget the broom. I think I’ve got a date.” he laughs, Now you’re blushing. You both make your way back to Hogwarts, laughing and talking. You’re so caught up with Wonho, and excited to tell Nessa and Tyrell about the events following their departure that you completely forget about going to The Apothecary to get the ingredients you need.

Moon Slave Pt. 3 (Monsta X Mini-Fic)

A few minutes until the full moon rises.

Already in Hyungwon's basement, the group of friends were preparing everything. Minhyuk placed several things that the younger can destroy while in his feral state; Jooheon called them wishing them good luck, being away on a well-deserved vacation; Changkyun secured the chains to the wall with Hoseok's help; Kihyun was securing the chains on Hyungwon's wrists and reinforcing them with 5 spells.

The young werewolf was barely aware of what was happening, his mind was in the clouds, literally, he felt the slightest movement, looked for the slightest sign that the clouds would soon disperse, revealing his tormentor: the full moon, reminding him that he's his slave.

The black-haired man felt the fear making its way into his being at the same time that the tingling he felt in the morning amplified in intensity, making him groan occasionally.

When Kihyun finished securing the chains, Hyungwon felt his friends move a few steps away from him, suddenly his skin began to burn with fever and his clothes stung, making him itchy and hot.

“Shit, his clothes. We forgot to tell him.” Kihyun cursed under his breath.

"Well, too late, the moon will rise in 30 seconds." Hoseok replied nervously.

Hearing that, Hyungwon gasped and looked out the window alarmed, watching the clouds begin to disperse, causing another emotion he hates to take over: Panic. He began to gasp and yank at the chains, making them rattle but to no avail.

"H...hyung...Hyung, get me out of here, I don't want to be here!" he begged between sobs and gasps.

"No , no! He's coming, I don't want to, I don't want to, get me out of here!" His hysterical look and his screams full of panic were scaring the others.

"Woonie... it's for your own good, please... breathe" Kihyun tried to calm him down without success.

"No I can't! I can't breathe!" he began to hyperventilate, the light of the full moon began to peek through the window.

"Don't do this to me please, please! Don't do this to me! KIHYUN HYUNG STOP THIS!". The aforementioned jumped back at that heartbreaking cry, he had never seen Hyungwon so upset since his first transformation, and the slight sparkle in his eyes is confirming that something else is taking control of his mind.

"Hyung, I think we should move further away..." Hoseok warned cautiously.

Everyone moved a few steps back, getting closer to the exit, Hoseok had to pull Kihyun a bit by his clothes, since the blonde couldn't move.

"Are you going to leave me here?! Alone?! HOW CAN YOU DO THIS TO ME?! Ow, Ow! DAMN, DAMN IT!" he yelled between gasps of hysteria, pulling the chains more and more with an overwhelming force, worrying the others if they would hold.

He began to growl in frustration as he couldn't get free, one of his primitive thoughts making an appearance: anger. A feeling so intense and foreign to him that it terrifies him, because he doesn't know what could happen if he lets himself be consumed, and now that's what's happening. He snarled and gasped, yanking harder again, fangs bared like a wild animal.

“Hyung, the wolf…he's very strong…he's completely dominating him.” Minhyuk whispered to Kihyun, who was watching everything with teary eyes.

"Argh! Aaagh!" and the first crack was heard throughout the basement, surprising everyone, the change was beginning.

" IT HURTS! GET ME OUT OF HERE, GET ME OUT!" His voice became deep and full of growls, scaring the others who took more distance.

It's a nightmare and one that they will never be able to get used to. Hyungwon, who is normally funny, calm and collected, is now shaking his head from side to side and yelling in pain as he tries to break the chains by yelling all sorts of nonsense, his voice unrecognizable to them.

"MAKE IT STOP, MAKE IT STOP, AAAARGGGGGH!" His bones cracked violently again and the boys saw how something moved under his shirt, bending his back in a gruesome way.

The sweaty black-haired man's nails turned into claws and he, imprisoned by desperation, began to tear his shirt, making numerous huge scratches in his chest that began to heal instantly, leaving his torso bare and shiny with sweat and traces of blood.

"I'LL RIP YOUR SKIN OFF, DAMN IT! No, I won't do that! Help me, please, help… AGHHH! I didn't mean it!"

The threat sounded so foreign to him that he even scared himself, but he couldn't stop, it's as if he was being possessed by a demon and his body no longer belonged to him.

"I'LL KILL YOU ALL, I SWEAR, AAAGH AAAARHHHHG!" He kept shouting horrible words as his voice became reverberant and dual, as if two minds were fighting in the same body.

"My God!" Minhyuk sobbed covering his mouth.

"Shit! HE'S GROWING?!" Changkyun exclaimed in alarm.

The next thing that happened left them with their blood frozen. Hyungwon's toned chest began to pound rhythmically, followed by his shoulders and arms, until his entire body seemed to be pounding like a fearful heart. Kihyun looked into his eyes and saw a clouded expression, his gaze lost in pain, fever and change, his eyes wide and a menacing amber color.

Hyungwon seemed to pant in rhythm with the palpitations until his body began to grow, his muscles became more toned, filled with fiber and power, his skin flushed red with fever, his bones kept cracking but the boy seemed to be in a trance, his mouth ajar, letting out increasingly deep and loud gasps, letting his sharp fangs shine a little.

Suddenly, he whimpered in anguish and growled loudly as he slammed his hands into the ground, scratching the wooden floor with his claws as he felt the pain of change again. His spine cracked loudly, he felt it moving under his skin, which is painful. He continued to grow at a torturously slow and sensitive pace, he felt like his whole body was going to explode, but it didn't, instead his muscles turned to rocks and a fine layer of hair began to cover his body.

"AURHHHG AAAAH AHHH AARRRRRGHHHH!" He sounded strange, more animal than man, he let out more screams as he felt his legs break and grow, reforming into something more animal-like. His feet grew and became hairy, his nails grew almost to match the claws on his hands.

Another wild feeling washed over his mind along with the pain, tearing its way inside him: Power, dominance, greatness, ferocity... Truly, it's a mountain of emotions that are clouding his judgment like an invitation, as if that side of him asked for something.

He felt a strong tingle on the back of his neck, his hair began to grow longer, going down his back and joining the rest of his fur. He could hear a little of the gasps and alarmed expressions of his friends, but it was all drowned out by the loud crunching of his bones and his ferocious screams of pain.

In a small corner of his affected mind he remembered Hoseok's words: "Until you see it as a part of you, it will continue to grow to be a monster."

“Part of me, part of me?… For that I have to let him…win… as Hyunwoo hyung told me, but I'm so scared, this isn't me, this isn't me. ...” his stormy train of thought was interrupted by a voice, the sweet words that had flown from her full lips that night, fearlessly, doubtlessly, waveringly caressing his face.

"It's a part of you, I love and will love all parts of you, darling" he gasped remembering that, the fear he felt as he felt the change happening and she was seeing it all, without any protection, trusting him. He gasped again as he found the answer to all his doubts in the last words that she had whispered to him before getting lost, and that he had not understood until now: "I know it hurts, and it's scary, but breathe. Breathe with me, let it go, receive the change"

"I...I must let it...happen, accept it..." he came to the realization between pain and anguish.

Something clicked inside his mind and, still terrified, he groaned under his breath letting his eyes roll behind his head, he took several deep breaths and felt the power of the full moon amplify, running through his body now in one more tingle, constant, warmer, stronger, more powerful, more..., he wants more..., he needs more, and so, without thinking... he let himself go.

"AAAAAARRRRRRGGHHHH!" His scream took on a new vigor and feeling, wilder, more uncontrolled.

He felt his spine move and lengthen, as did his cheekbones. From his lower back the bone of his spine forced its way painfully, quickly surrounding itself with his flesh and fur, creating a prominent tail.

The pain in his face made him arch up towards the ceiling, feeling his face elongate, and his already grown fangs became enormous, his face filled with jet black fur and his eyes became wolfish, now wearing an eerie golden color, not a shred of humanity left in him.

The creature crouched down panting, growling and howling as it felt for more, demanding more. His friends looked at him in shock, "is the change still going on?!" they thought in alarm.

Hyungwon now fully controlled by his wild side, and with his mind fragmented beyond repair, welcomed the next change with masochistic delight, enjoying the pain he was feeling. His body kept throbbing as his muscles began to grow more and more, as well as his height, his friends looked at him puzzled, full of restlessness and fear.

"Yes... fear me, fear me. More... I want more..." he received the change, but his sanity slipped from his hands, merging with that of the beast, creating something new in his subconscious, something fearsome, dark. His gasps sounded more pleasant than painful, and without further ado, he let out a howl, welcoming the power.

"AAAUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH!"

His howl was so deep and shrill, that the other boys had to cover their ears, they even felt the ground vibrate a little with the power that howl carried, a little demonstration of his dominance, a little demonstration of what he can do, " More... I need more..." he thought between gasps moving his long tongue over his sharp fangs.

It stood erect, its arms flexing, its abdomen iron and its huge claws in torturous delight.

"Is he...enjoying it?" Hoseok asked in alarm.

"Isn't that what you wanted?" Minhyuk demanded. The minor shook his head.

"He's not just receiving the change, he's allowing the change to dominate him," he pointed out nervously.

"He's indulged in primitive pleasure, his mind is... fragmented."

"It's the pleasure of an alpha to be the strongest and most powerful, Hyunwoo hyung told me. That's not just Hyungwon anymore, his wild side has completely taken control of him." Kihyun explained heavily and anguished. "Please Woonie, you can handle this, don't let it tear you apart like that" he begged anguished.

"God, how much will he grow?" Changkyun exclaimed in alarm, seeing how the room felt smaller.

And it is that the lycanthrope continued to grow more and more, it had already passed 2 meters and continued to grow, looking more robust, hairy and prominent, taking up more space in the basement barely 5 meters high.

"Well, if it goes over 4 meters, we're screwed." Minhyuk exclaimed.

"Yes, it will destroy everything," Hoseok added, taking another step back, stopping abruptly as he saw the werewolf's ears move and come to rest on his head.

"Shit, he heard me."

Hearing that he could destroy things ignited that pleasure inside him, to be wild and destructive, yes, to show them his true power, to show them his dominance, to show them how he received the change.

He got up and grabbed the wall causing more scratches, the chains are a little tight but he doesn't care, he just wants to end the change, receive power.

"ARRRGGGHHHHHH AAAAAARRRGHHHHHHH!"

He flexed strongly, feeling more palpitations and accelerating his growth. The others looked at him in alarm as they watched their friend lose himself, growing into a giant hairy beast full of savagery, thirsting for power.

Suddenly, he reached his hairy hand towards the ceiling, touching it, scratching part of it with his huge claws as he felt an exciting tingle that indicated his last shred of power.

"AAAAAAAUURRRGHHH" he grew a little more, until he stopped, panting with exhaustion and pleasure.

"God! Oh God! Do you think it's over?” Minhyuk asked in a whisper, hiding behind Kihyun who was standing in his spot, unable to move from shock.

They saw the werewolf panting with his head down, trying to steady himself. Then it rose to a menacing height of 3'11", one meter taller than the previous full moon.

"Yes, finished. My God, it grew at least a meter more!" Chankyun expressed surprise and fear.

Hearing human voices alerted the beast, which directed its huge golden eyes towards the group of boys. Its orbs shone in the shadows in a menacing and fearsome way, it opened its snout full of sharp fangs in a strange expression, similar to a dark smile.

This triggered the boys' flight instinct, which the two vampires and two shamans heeded as they ran down the basement stairs.

The beast tried to reach them but the chains stopped him, causing him to growl in anger. Outside, Kihyun with the help of Minhyuk, closed the door and sealed it with 6 protective spells, exhausting themselves in the process.

The werewolf was frustrated, roaring loudly, releasing so much power and authority, that the walls and floor of the house trembled.

"My God! My God! How much power does he have to cause tremors with his roars?!" Minhyuk exclaimed in alarm.

"I...I'm afraid too much, even for him to control." Kihyun responded with anguish and some bitterness. "That's not Hyungwon, what happened in his mind that he became like this?"

"Did you see how big it is? It's almost 4 meters!" Hoseok exclaimed.

"Yes, he's a damn giant! I've never seen a lycan so big and tall" Minhyuk yelled shuddering.

"Okay, now what?" the youngest of all asked slowly.

Kihyun thought for a few moments. "We wait and stand guard until it passes. Don't fall asleep." he ordered them.

Another powerful roar shook the house followed by sounds and bangs coming from the basement.

"With Hyungwon like this and those chains running the risk of breaking? NOBODY WILL CLOSE AN EYE IN THIS HOUSE." Minhyuk exclaimed, scared and then fell on the chair.

"I just hope he's okay and comes back to us..."

"Don't worry Minmin, he will. Now sit down, it's going to be a long night.” Kihyun consoled him by taking a seat next to him.

The four young people stood guard all night to take care of their friend, accompany him in those difficult, intense and strange moments, hoping that, at dawn, he would be the same Hyungwon as always.

Hogwarts AU! Monsta X

Shownu

House: Gryffindor Favorite Subject: Apparition Quidditch Position: Keeper

A very respectful, soft spoken, and studious Prefect. Everyone expects a lot from him as a wizard, expecting him to land a job in the Ministry of Magic as soon as he graduates. Students from other houses are often intimidated by him, but Son Hyunwoo is commonly thought of as “The Father of Gryffindor” among the people of his house. Although he isn’t particularly vocal about it, he only wants the best for his peers and will look out for them constantly. Not a bossy Prefect or anything of the sort, but is straightforward with scolding to the point his “You shouldn’t do that”s and “It isn’t particularly kind”s prevent people from doing tricky things out of guilt. Although most believe it’s only natural for someone like him to excel at a subject as difficult as Apparition, many express their worry towards his pursuit in such a dangerous concept. Still, Shownu doesn’t fear the risks and is rather capable of himself anyways. You may find him with his broomstick, probably a recent Nimbus model, training. He often helps his teammates, but his training session is not limited to them exclusively. Shownu is willing to train with anyone who asks, and often does so with his fellow Prefect Wonho. His role as a Keeper only adds to the misconception of his personality, but those who truly fear him are those who are up against his team in a Quidditch match. Chasers often how to score with Shownu blocking shots, and some even question whether or not he uses some sort of spell or charm to be that level of excellence.

Wonho

House: Hufflepuff Favorite Subject: Care of Magical Creatures Quidditch Position: Beater

His fear of heights is hardly evident because he’s such a diligent Quidditch player. Labelled as “Wonho” by many ー including a few professors ー Shin Hoseok gets his nickname due to his role as a Beater. His Quidditch team never has to fear Bludgers hitting them because Wonho is very reliable, he’s even taken the blow for teammates (which earn him minor concussions and other injuries as a result). If anyone confronts him to ask why he flies despite being acrophobic, he’ll smile and say his fear is “exactly why he plays!”. His owl was his mother’s pet when she attended the school, and Wonho literally writes to her at every opportunity. He’s the Prefect of Hufflepuff, and he’ll do his best to aid anyone regardless of their year or house. The role was a surprise to many due to his mischievous nature during his first few years in Hogwarts (he was frequent in the Detention Chambers and often caused ruckus with his brooms and potions). He eventually grew out of those actions the more he became dedicated to the Quidditch team, but he does love a good prank or two here and there. He’s practically the human embodiment of the infamous phrase “Mischief Managed”. He has a deep love and respect for creatures of any kind, which is very evident in his favorite class, Care of Magical Creatures. When he’s not spending time in the Training Grounds, he can often be found in the Owlery located at the West Tower.

Minhyuk

House: Hufflepuff Favorite Subject: Defense Against the Dark Arts Quidditch Position: Beater

Unlike fellow Hufflepuff Hoseok, Lee Minhyuk has yet to grow out of his mischievous ways. Unmanaged mischief as one might call him, as he proves to be a nuisance with his “playful acts” and spells he often casts. He is at least able to make up for the points he loses for his house by absolutely excelling at Defense Against the Dark Arts. Students both experienced and inexperienced challenge him to fuels quite often, though with his quick wit, keen evasion and deflection, as well as a natural gift for picking up spells, Minhyuk is practically a dueling champion. Despite having beaten most of the school, no one can stay mad at the bundle of sunshine for long. His outgoing, friendly personality earns him quite a bunch of friends regardless of what year and house they’re in. His sharp reflexes not only serve him well in Duels, but also in Quidditch. He and Wonho make an excellent Beater Duo, as they hardly allow their team to sustain any Bludger-related injuries during games. He does, however, have a habit of sending Bludgers towards the audiences by accident. He has a pet rat with a mischievous mind of its own, and the rodent often chews through his books and clothes and even nibbles marks into his cauldron. Because of this, Minhyuk is commonly seen roaming the halls with holes in his robes, stray papers and wand trapped in his arms as he asks his peers if he can borrow their textbooks for a class or two. Filch’s favorite person to pick on, apparently it took a lot of convincing on Minhyuk’s part to stop Mrs Norris from taking his pet rat for dinner. The only time you’ll see Minhyuk upset is when he gets a Howler from his parents consulting him about his mischief.

Kihyun

House: Ravenclaw Favorite Subject: Transfiguration Quidditch Position: Chaser

A typical Ravenclaw, many students wonder why he wasn’t appointed as a Prefect. Rumor has it that he actually declined the offer in his 5th year because he didn’t want to take even more responsibility. Although he doesn’t like to admit it, Kihyun really does look after his peers and definitely does a good job with it. To other Ravenclaws, Yoo Kihyun is much like the mother of their house. He sets a good example for all younger students, and many aspire to be as intelligent, wise, and studious as he is. He is often found in the library, though you’d have to do a bit of looking as he makes a habit of going to a different section each visit. That way he’s able to broaden his knowledge about anything he goes for, and some people wonder if he’s used a spell that helps him contain all the impossibly large amount of knowledge he has (that is, if such a spell even exists). If he’s not in the library, he often maintains the Ravenclaw common room and keeps an eye out for anyone attempting to sneak out or so. House points are very important to him, and it’s like he loses one year of his life span when a Ravenclaw loses points in his presence. He’s the type of student who will correct others or assist them when they mess up a spell, and will definitely help those who have the courage to approach him. Kihyun is actually very respectful and sweet so long as you’ve got a good attitude! He has a knack for all subjects, but especially exceeds in Transfiguration. His friends (especially Minhyuk!) warn other students to avoid angering him because he might just turn them into an animal for awhile. (He probably has, but he doesn’t do that sort of thing in vain so the kid must have deserved it) He’d rather pursue his education and definitely go for a job as an Auror or something, but on the rare occasion he plays Quidditch for his house he turns out to be a very excellent (and competitive!) Chaser.

Hyungwon

House: Slytherin Favorite Subject: Charms Quidditch Position: Seeker

His ravishing looks and house he was sorted in often leads to much misinterpretation, Chae Hyungwon is kinder than he seems. Although undeniably witty and at times even sassy, he has a genuinely kind heart and is nicer than he gives himself credit for. The way he moves through the halls with such elegance and grace often causes people to label him as another vile, Pureblooded Slytherin, but he actually doesn’t care much for blood status and is probably only giving such a gaze because he just woke up from a nap. He falls asleep often, knows the best places in the school to take naps but often gets away with it. Occasionally people will attempt to cast a spell on him or do some sort of prank while he’s in slumber, but he is very much aware of his surroundings when asleep. Hyungwon may seem like someone who slacks off or doesn’t pay attention, but he really does have good intentions and it often goes unnoticed. Overall he’s very much misunderstood, and unfortunately little get to know how pleasant this Slytherin truly is. The only time he actually gets recognition is with Charms, where he is praised for his exceptional skill. He is also an excellent Seeker, though most refuse to admit it. A habit of his is staying still for a long period of time during a match, only to move if he locates the Snitch or if a Bludger comes his way.

Jooheon

House: Gryffindor Favorite Subject: Muggle Studies Quidditch Position: Chaser

Hailing from a Pureblood family, Lee Jooheon doesn’t get much exposure to the Muggle World. This is why Muggle Studies fascinates him, and he takes great pleasure in discovering anything about their culture. Muggle music in particular always seems to strike his fancy. He does have a bit of trouble with magic and what not, though the spells he casts are undeniably powerful. Jooheon enjoys being around enchanted fauna and flora, though they don’t treat him particularly well in return. He’s probably sustained an injury or two from getting trampled by a Hippogriff, pecked by a Phoenix… it still doesn’t reduce his affection towards them, though. Many students deem him as someone scary, but those who get to know him wonder why the Sorting Hat placed him in Gryffindor rather than Hufflepuff. He’s very kind, and the smile he gives off is contagious even to his teachers (most of the time). The most avid letter writer during the summer, his friends are used to getting a letter from him first. He also likes to write to his parents to tell them about his experiences at the school, and he occasionally gets gifts delivered to him in return. Jooheon considers Hyunwoo as “his rival”, yet somehow considers him as a father away from home.

Changkyun

House: Ravenclaw Favorite Subject: Potions Quidditch Position: Seeker

There are two ways in perceiving Changkyun; he is either “too quiet” or “too odd”. Frankly, he is neither. (He may have a skeptical, different way of thought, but it always seems to work in his favor) He’s a bit of a lone wolf due to these misinterpretations, but he has all the friends he needs. When he isn’t being selfless and mature, his sense of humor shines through. He gets even professors laughing, at least most of the time. Changkyun has a bit of a record with spells going awry, and potions causing safety hazards. It’s not that he’s bad at magic, he’s actually very good, he just likes to experiment as much as he can and it doesn’t always end up successful. When they are, however, prepared to be amazed because his good potions are so well brewed, he might as well rewrite instructions of his own to replace the textbook’s. Everyone seems to wonder Changkyun’s strategy as Ravenclaw’s Seeker ー including his own team members. They don’t know how he does it, one match he might stay still the majority of the time, another he’ll be flying around wilder than the Bludgers. Sometimes you’ll barely catch a glimpse of him; but no matter what he does the match often ceases with a loud declaration of “Lim Changkyun has caught the Snitch! Ravenclaw wins!”, and he descends to the ground while holding the winged gold orb in his hands triumphantly.

Shadows and Monsters | I.

Matilda’s Story

Genre: fantasy!AU, light angst, fluff.

Description: “They beg me to write them so they’ll never die when I’m dead and I’ve grown familiar with villains that live in my head.”

Next chapter: The next part is going to be based on Wonho’s story just the way the OC’s was with some more explanation of this chapter and a new character will be introduced.

In later chapters: There will also be mentions of Got7, Exo, Monsta X and BTS members in future chapters along side the OC.

A/N: The idea first came to me by listening to Hasley’s song Control, but later on I got some ideas that I wanted to incorporate into the story. This chapter is explaining the start of this series. It is based on the OC of this series going by the name Matilda. If you have any questions about the character let me know. I’ll make a character sheet when all of the main characters are reveiled.

They send me away to find them a fortune, a chest filled with diamonds and gold…

The Sun shone through the leaves bringing light in the dark Willow forest that consumed you all around, leaving only a muddy path filled with rocks in your vision to take. Not even the horses found comfort in the depths of this forest as there was no sound hearable. The wind that grazed your face was the only thing that you felt in that moment. It almost felt like the whole place was dead if it weren’t for the movements of the plants and the quiet sounds the ants made in an attempt to move their food from one place to another. The sounds only you were able to hear.

At one point your white majestic horse stopped in his steps knowing very well that he wouldn’t make another step forward. It was understandable to you, he was obviously afraid even though this wasn’t his first time coming this deep into the forbidden parts in the woods, guarded by the best elf guards in the whole entire kingdom. Yet you managed to convince one of your guards, Park Jimin, that you just wanted to take a look around and begged him to distract your other, clear thinking guards, while you made a sneaky move past them into the forest.

You were able to do so because one day a little bird choppered to you that Park Jimin, one out of your six guards, has some feeling towards you even though it’s forbidden and if the king found out, a.k.a. your dad, he would lose his position as a guard and would have to leave the Tale kingdom. But you were the only person that knew this piece of information and you thought why not use it to your advantage, like in this particular situation.

You weren’t going to lie, Jimin was cute and had that little something that made the ladies in the kingdom swoon over him, like with the rest of your personal guards. But you never thought of him as something more than your guard and a good friend for an elf. And the reason you had six personal guards in the first place was because your father at some point found out that you liked to wander outside the kingdom a little too far and too often for his liking. So the best he could come up without having to lock you inside the palace, was to hire extra guards and especially the elf ones because they were the best of the best out there.

As seen, this didn’t stop you either in your missions. You were still doing the same things that you did before your father did this and you weren’t planning on stopping it anytime soon. After all, you had two reasons to wander into the woods in the afternoon every 3 days.

One: you were the one person that was willing to make trips into the forbidden area of the forest to help the kingdom’s wizard and your best friend by far in the palace, Kim Namjoon. He was the most interesting person to have a conversation with, he knew everything that was going on outside the walls and even in other kingdoms. He was like a magic ball that knew the answer to every single question that occupied your mind and you could always come to him for advice or for a potion that you couldn’t make on your own. Mostly you got the sleeping potion for your maids and guards so you could sneak away in the middle of the night to listen to the conversation of your father and the kings of other kingdoms. He was just the best person for anything.

Two: you couldn’t go longer than two days without seeing Wonho, the Clan leader that had his headquarters in the banned parts of the Willow forest because the kings of the kingdoms and wizards weren’t able to step inside because some magic spell was set to protect them from the evil. You were allowed to be there, you were Wonho’s and the spell sensed some kind of other energy that was stronger and could break it, love.

That’s how you were in this place right now. To say you weren’t scared was a lie, you were so afraid that someone might come out of nowhere and make this your death trip in not even a second. That’s why you made sure to carry your bow and arrows with you which Namjoon put a paralyzing spell on the tips of the arrows to buy you some time if something were to happen.

As you were getting further away from your horse, the panic and fright that you felt made the forest even quieter than it actually was. You couldn’t hear anything, the only thing you felt was the rapid beating of your heart that picked up speed every time you took another step forward. The wind suddenly stopped blowing, the ants weren’t noticeable anymore, the light from the Sun was disappearing.

The next thing that happened scared you to the bones because it all happened in the blink of an eye. You heard your horse before turning around and seeing it run away following the path you came from. With you being in panic and not knowing what to do, you were going to shout after him before you were pulled behind a tree with your mouth covered up by the stranger’s hand. Now feeling even more afraid you started wiggling and trying to break free from his hold, but after you noticed the familiar scent that filled your nostrils you calmed down a bit stopping in your actions to understand what was going on.

When Wonho noticed you recognized him, he loosened his hold on you while still keeping you close to him. The sound of branches breaking under the weight of seven horses filled the quiet forest and you knew these people weren’t here for no good. They suddenly stopped in their ministrations searching around the spot you left your horse not even 5 minutes ago and the voice of someone from the guys could be heard.

“Well, well, well. What do we have here?” His voice sounded awfully familiar yet you couldn’t place it together with a face but you knew you heard it somewhere before, you were sure of that. “Looks like our little princess wandered off again alone into the woods. What a shame we couldn’t catch up with here.”

Suddenly it hit you, how could he know it was you? You were sure they only saw the horse but how can he assume it was you? It could’ve been anyone else from the Tale kingdom but he sounded so sure that it was you and no one else. That send goosebumps down to your bones at the fact that this person was someone who knew about your daily escapes into the forest and maybe also knew about the thing that you had with Wonho.

“But it looks like she already left?” The other guy spoke. “I saw her horse run in the other direction just when we made it here.”

“She must’ve known about this the whole time. That’s why we couldn’t catch her in the first place.” The first one spoke again. “Run as much you like Princess Matilda, but one thing I can promise you. One day you’ll be mine and no one will even know you went missing. Just wait and see.” Something felt off about this whole thing. If he didn’t know, which you hoped he didn’t, that you were still in the forest, why would he be saying all those things? Unless he really knew that you were still there but didn’t look around anyway. “This day might not be today. It might not be tomorrow. You’ll never know when it’s going to happen. One thing I’ll let you know. You. will. Be. Mine.” With that last word, the sounds slowly faded which meant their departure.

This scared you, even more, knowing that there is someone who wants to literally kidnap you. Not that, that is something new to you but to hear that the person knows where you are at this time is what is frightening you the most. After all, you were the Tale kingdom king’s daughter, a fairy and a healer, and that alone made you more valuable than anything else in these lands. There is this story that people are ready to kill just to get one centimeter of your silver hair because apparently, it is worth a lot more than you think. Maybe that’s the reason why your father assigned you six personal guards that, as it seemed all this time, weren’t doing a good job in protecting you considering they didn’t even know where you were because of Jimin.

After Wonho was 100% sure you were safe and the seven-man left, he let go of you completely making you turn around to see that it really was him. Upon seeing his figure in front of you, you exhaled a breath you didn’t know you were holding in and put your arms around his neck to bring him in for a hug. He immediately hugged you back, locking his hands behind your lower back drawing circles there to try and calm you down. Your cheeks were light pink and wet from the tears that never stopped, puffy eyes, your whole body trembling. You were thankful for him to by holding you right now. You don’t even wanna know what would’ve happened if he wasn’t there to help you. Would they have taken you away? You don’t know and you surely don’t want to find out.

“Wandering child of the Earth

Do you know just how much you’re worth?

You have walked this path since your birth

You were destined for more.”

Out of nowhere, Wonho started singing you one of your favorite songs that your mother used to sing you every time life was harsh to you until she passed away 4 years ago.

“There are those who’ll tell you you’re wrong

They will try to silence your song,

But right here is where you belong

So don’t search anymore.”

The only people that knew about this song were your mother, your father because he used to secretly eavesdrop when she sang it to you cause he loved to hear her voice. And there was also Wonho who you told about it when you started to feel that there was something more you felt towards him, more than just friendship.

“You are the dawn of a new day that’s waking,

A masterpiece still in the making.

The blue in an ocean of gray.”

Just like it did when your mother sang the song to you, you were relaxing in his arms while he was quietly singing it just for your ears to hear and slowly started swaying you from side to side.

“You are right where you need to be

Poised to inspire and to succeed.

You’ll look back and you’ll realize one day.”

Closing your eyes you let the words flow through your veins, let in all sink into your skin. You wanna feel the energy you lost find it’s way back home, back to you.

“In you eyes there is doubt

As you try to figure it out,

But that’s not what life is about

So have faith,

There’s a way.”

In your mind, you pictured that this was your mother singing it to you with her angelic voice as she stroked your head in the most sweets way.

“Though the world may try to define you,

It can’t take the light that’s inside you

So don’t you dare try to hide,

Let your fears fade away.”

As he finished the song, you looked up at him directly in the eyes that sparkled with every single second that passed. He was all you needed in this moment, nothing could bring you back to life if it wasn’t him. With that in mind, you brought him in your a soft kiss. As you kissed, the night came and you were in pure darkness surrounded by nothing else besides Willow trees and little fireflies started circling around the two of you as you never wanted this moment to end.
