What I find hilarious about how “She-Hulk” is using Daredevil is that it simultaneously makes sense and doesn’t make sense. It makes sense that Matt is the one who’s going to help mentor Jen in finding the work-life balance when it comes to being her regular lawyer self and being She-Hulk. He’s a lawyer and a superhero as well, so he’d be the best person to understand her situation.
On the other hand…it’s Matt Murdock showing someone how they can manage their life.

I'm gonna come out and say it; No Way Home sucked. Sure, it had some good moments but in my opinion, it does not live up to the first two instalments of the trilogy. I liked the first part of the movie but as soon as I knew where the second part was going, I fell off that train pretty quickly.
Not only did it make MCU Spidey end up with the same tale as his two predecessors but it also undoes Peter's entire establishment in Marvel's overall franchise. What was the point of the last four movies putting him on the roster with Earth's MIGHTIEST Heroes if you were just going take all that away and make it like he exists in a completely separate world from them? What was the point of the three cameos we had from RDJ, Samuel L. Jackson, and Benedict Cumberbatch in their iconic roles to show that interconnected universe as with every other MCU movie, only for that to be stripped away at the very last second? Might as well have been another one of Sony's solo ventures at making a series after TASM but it's not and that's why I HATE the uncertainty of Peter Parker's future in the MCU. However, given the current failing reality of the MCU with every new movie that comes out, I can already confirm it's nothing good. In fact, it probably would be best if progress stops altogether before Marvel really is stuck in the dust and just a part of a magnificent past with no legacy to carry on. (This is a side note but that is still a big issue for me anyways that I may expand upon later in another post. In the meantime, go watch all the video essays on YouTube, I'm sure you'll find many good ones.)
He had a unique story that fit into the overarching plot of the MCU and the premise he had was different from the previous Spideys which is what was so interesting about his character development. This Peter Parker had friends that weren't introduced before, or at least, they were more developed than in other series; he had a superhero as a mentor, not a scientist turned villain due to unfortunate circumstances; he had a guy in the chair who wasn't after him or turned villain because his father was one, he had two crushes that were friends, he was part of clubs and acted more teenage-like than the last two. He interacts with other heroes, joins the Avengers, fights THE villain, perishes, comes back, loses his mentor, and is still expected to keep on going.
For crying out loud, he was asked if he was going to be the next Iron Man but he knew he wasn't which is what Far From Home set out to show us. And to all those who called him Iron Man Jr. in Homecoming, I hope you know that you make no sense and I think Marvel did a wonderful job making him stand apart. He was a kid admiring one of his role models and now that he actually had a connection to him, of course he was going to want to be like his mentor but even Tony recognized that he wanted him to be more, not like him. This shows Iron Man himself had great respect for the young hero.
Now, moving onto No Way Home, two main things that annoy the heck out of me; Peter being forgotten (obviously) and Aunt May dying. I'll start with Aunt May's death. To be honest, it was a completely unnecessary death and it actually doesn't make sense for the purpose it had in the movie. The punchline "With great power comes great responsibility." loses its premise as soon as you recall Civil War's intro to Peter in the first place. Uncle Ben had already died, Peter was Spider-Man at this point, and remember what Peter told Tony when they met, why the older hero related to him so much? "When you can do the things that I can, but you don't... and then the bad things happen... they happen because of you." So he already learned that lesson on responsibility and by the time we get to No Way Home, this kid had learned lessons also involving the universe at large. Why are we rehashing Uncle Ben's offscreen death with Aunt May if Marvel literally stated that was overdone? Make that make sense. But oh, it was to make something big and dramatic happen in the movie because we needed to mOve aLoNg. Peter lost his parents, his uncle, and mentor; can you come up with something new other than parental figure losses? Why do TASM Peter and OG Peter still have their Aunt Mays and even if it was just a deleted scene, technically TASM Peter's dad? Huh, then what do you say there? Why did MCU Peter Parker have to lose ALL his parental figures?
Finally, the thing that probably broke most of us; Peter being wiped from everyone's memory. As I stated earlier, his entire existence within the MCU just vanishes, like that, in seconds. So......... what was the point of his existence up till now in the MCU? What was the point of his specific development and growth if he was just going to get forgotten? Why was he meticulously introduced at the height of the Avengers' conflict and then constantly involved with some other MCU hero/important character if he was going to be removed from that? If the Avengers were never a big deal, why make him a part of that at all and why were we still bringing them up at the climax of the film? For those who bring up the argument that he's supposed to be a solitary hero, well that was the worst way to have introduced him then, right? But Marvel chose that route, not any other. Which is why that decision still makes no sense to me. You put him in a world where he wasn't the only superhero and he was going to interact with other heroes which none of the other Spider-Men had and that already put him in a unique position. Why give him a background that was going to get swiped?
Imagine that, making five blockbuster films that gave him a firm standing in the MCU at the peak of Phase 3 and then in his sixth film, his last standalone which is supposed to be his most shining moment, he gets the rug pulled out from underneath him to give him a blank slate? You might as well have thrown every script out from 2015 to 2019 including him before they were ever written or considered. It's the equivalent of undoing everything you just worked on in a school project that's worth 40% of your final grade. Think about that for a second. Marvel just undid 6 years of work and investment in a single character for them to go back to the beginning. Why didn't you just do that then from the start? You could have had more classic Spidey a long time ago by that train of thought (which I really didn't want because we already saw that twice and this Spidey was something fresh).
Anyways, thanks for reading. This is 2 years worth of disappointment and frustration put on the page.

Can I be honest about this now? I’m going to be honest.
I don’t like the retcon that Peter Parker is the little boy who was wearing the Iron Man mask in the final battle from Iron Man 2. I think I kind of hate it now actually.
This isn’t hate, it’s just…an opinion I guess. The retcon just fuels parts of the fandom that I don’t necessarily enjoy. Yeah.

Daniel RPK on twitter has made incorrect predictions about Marvel projects in the past and just because he says there is a Scarlet Witch film in the works, it in no way indicates that it's true.
Please stop using Twitter accounts and Screenrant style articles as sources for Marvel news unless it is an account attached to Marvel itself or someone who currently works on the films at Marvel or there is a direct quote from said Marvel or people working on the projects. The Marvel News accounts and articles are unreliable and there is a good chunk of them that will just make up Marvel News and other similar accounts and articles will copy them to try and stay in the know.
Friends, I implore you to not get your hopes up based on what these accounts and articles say. Please take everything you hear in the rumor mill very lightly. I have been in this community a long time and have learned to only trust news that comes from the source (Marvel or people currently working on Marvel projects). I've been burned by these accounts that claim to have the inside scoop of what's going on in Marvel, they don't. Many of them make lightly educated guesses or total shots in the dark with no base at all to them.
Please take every piece of news lightly. I know it hurts when things don't go how we, as fans, expect. Don't let them heighten your expectations based on something that they posted while trying to get likes, views, and follows.
Be smart. Do research. Question everything.

Not me drunkenly trying to explain to my husband how right now, post WandaVision/pre seeing Vision again, the White Vision might very well HATE Wanda because Hex Vision gave him all of his memories, and from an analytical side of things it could seem that they only fell in love because they were both new to the team, she needed someone, anyone, and he had nothing better to do. White Vision didn't LIVE it, so he could very easily lothe Wanda and try to be his own person separately from her, try and find his humanity elsewhere on his own, without a person "granting" him it.
I'm horrified of having to potentially watch the events of this Vision comic unfold, I pulled my physical copy out last night and lamented over it, the tragedy it would be, how unintentionally it would be WandaVision all over again and although it would be poetic it would be a TRAGEDY. Vision was never GRANTED his place or humanity or made more or less deserving of anything because of Wanda. She never asked him to change or present a certain way, she just came alongside him and loved him for who he was. He experienced humanity alongside her.
Without Wanda putting names and meaning and sensation behind everyday things Vision would have been literal to the point of self hatred. He wants to simply exist as easily as any human person, to find his place and experience the beauty of it. The complexity that there is in every day life. Wanda gave him that, and for Vision to try and make it for himself and fail to understand that she never gave him anything he didn't already have, but that they chose to come together and experience things as one will be tragic.
These pages out of issue #7 haunt me. Virginia is composed of pieces of Wanda in this comic, but pieces is not enough. Wanda and Vision, Vision and Wanda, they BELONG TOGETHER. Look at the events of Multiverse of Madness. Do you think things would have happened the same way if Vision had come to talk with Wanda instead of Stephen Strange?
If we are to expect any kind of mcu reunion and they DO end up going with the events of this comic, it will be emotionally devastating to watch and my heart will break watching the broken pieces of what once was Wanda Maximoff and Vision come back together after all the pain they've caused and felt. I doubt we will be so lucky, but a girl can dream...

Okay, I just had a thought. What if “Deadpool & Wolverine” is the start of this arc that’s going to address the state of the non-MCU Marvel properties? From how I’m seeing things, it looks like the universes of the non-MCU Marvel properties are breaking down for some reason (maybe related to the incursion in Multiverse of Madness) and the TVA are scrambling to save them.
So, what’s the plan? Take the remnants of the destroyed universes and “merge” them into a stable universe. On a meta level, it’s taking the non-MCU Marvel properties and merging them into the MCU. That’s how the mutants end up getting introduced into the MCU, as well as other concepts like Inhumans, Ghost Rider, and so on.
From a creative perspective, this allows Marvel Studios to bring in characters and concepts from these non-MCU properties without needing to address the previous storylines. You like James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as Charles and Erik? Well, we can bring them back now without having to address the bullshit that was the late stages of the Fox X-Men universe. That’s basically what’s happening with this version of Wolverine; it seems like this Logan is separate from all the other Logans we’ve seen, which I think is a good move since it allows Hugh Jackman to come back and audiences don’t have to question his existence.

thinking about how love and thunder is most likely going to follow the ‘jane wielding mjolnir WHILE also battling cancer’ plot from the comics and how it is absolutely going to DESTROY me when we see her not as the mighty thor, but as jane. except. jane who's slowly but surely withering away with each passing day and there's nothing she can do about it, because each time she uses mjolnir it eradicates the chemotherapy from her system, weakening her each time. bringing her more closer to death.
if they DO follow this plot, then it's safe to say unlike what we saw in the teaser, love and thunder isn't going to be such a lighthearted movie when it comes to jane's fate.

Remember that Sony-Disney fight a few months post release of Far From Home in 2019 and everyone in the fandom was having a crisis over Spider-Man's future in the MCU? I feel like that argument was never fully resolved because just look at the plot we got in No Way Home. It feels like Spider-Man is no longer part of Marvel once again. So, either way, we as the fans seem to have lost our MCU Peter Parker.

Just a few quick thoughts after watching the trailer for THE MARVELS!
1. I am BEGGING the movie makers to have Carol actually be the cat mom she is in the comics. Unless it’s just trailer editing misdirection, it looks like Carol and Goose were fighting side by side before Kamala switched places with her!
Tumblr media
2. The first Captain Marvel was the Kree warrior Mar Vell. In the MCU, they changed him to a woman who never became a costumed fighter. Look at Kamala’s shirt. Did they draw Carol over these old Captain Marvel comic covers??
Tumblr media
3. First look at Carol’s new suit. I don’t loveeeee it, to be honest. The star is a bit large. Idk. Maybe it looks better on screen. (Edit: I found a more clear version of the suit and it does look better than I thought…and honestly, it’s growing on me! It’s kinda slick.) Her suit in the current comics is literally perfect, and I kinda wish we could just get one like that with the sash. But I guess this is a reference to her first suit, perhaps also inspired by the other Vells. idk, but it doesn’t make sense to me that people say she’s copying one Vell in particular when her very first suit was already a carbon copy of Mar Vell’s, only with the scarf and lack of pants. Also looks like she snatched the Accuser’s hammer so that’s interesting...
Tumblr media
I am so excited for this movie! Monica looks incredible, Kamala brings so much great energy to the ensemble, and I’m really hoping the Carol Danvers we know and love can shine on screen!

What are you looking forward in the next McU phase
Like, maybe Deadpool 3.
And maybe the Marvels.
Thunderbolts, because Bucky.
Cap 4 with Sam!Cap.
But also, I am so burnt out on the MCU. There's so much of it. And I knew there would be because like. the Marvel universe is old as hell, and big time convoluted, but Jesus, I just.
There is so much of it, and they won't tell me if my favorite character is dead or just an old man who looks like Joe Biden, and I know that's either deep, dark MCU Kevin Feige secrets, or they're trying to pony up enough money to get Chris Evans to agree to come back, but also.
I miss Steve.
And Tony, surprisingly.
And definitely Nat.
And also, the MCU passed over doing what was likely one of the best romances in the entire Marvel Comics Universe (Nat/Bucky. WinterWidow is so good and spicy and sad), and I'm concerned they're going to do a Bucky/Yelena thing and then be like "SEE! WINTERWIDOW!"
And it's like. Wrong one, assholes.
Anyways. I'm hoping I'll be excited again for all of this at some point. I just became super attached to the original Avengers characters, and my brain is a little apathetic about the new school.
