MINECRAFT STORY MODE JUMPSCARE
lengthy hc stuff under read more <3 a lot of it is also based on my own little bit of rewriting of mcsm's story bcz lets be real its not The Greatest, but it is a fun story nonetheless and i wanna play with it,,
i'm not sure if it was ever established that they canonically live in the city where endercon takes place or they live somewhere on the outskirts of it, but for my personal hc, i imagine they live on the outskirts of endercon's city :]
axel and jesse are both orphans who grew up together, though while axel was born in their hometown, jesse just showed up out of nowhere with reuben. jesse's earliest memory is meeting his bestie by a water fall, but beyond that, he doesn't really remember anything about his own past.
the two of them met olivia when they found her getting bullied by adrien and his friends. they both stood up for her and soon after that, they all ended up being friends - she didn't hail from their hometown either, having actually moved there and was considered an outsider by most people (adrien and his friends especially), so jesse related to her a lot right off the bat
i wanna write more regarding the threes relationship with the order, petra and the ocelots, specifically lukas, but i think i'll wait until i draw them (which might take weeks. or months. we'll see..)
some character centric (cz the other one is backstory centric) hcs:
jesse thinks he's the same height as olivia. he's not. he's the shortest out of the entire group. he denies this reality with all his (tiny) being.
while jesse uses he/him pronouns he's not actually comfortable being referred to solely as a man. he doesn't have a label for it but he feels like he's a lot more flexible than that. he's honestly pretty okay with any pronouns, axel has used they/them and she/her for him in the past, which he really liked
olivia is #1 woman enjoyer worlds biggest lesbian. i loved the idea of her having a small crush on petra, and a BIG puppy crush on ellegard (which died into a normal admiration for an idol after the wither arc). i want to give olivia a girlfriend in s2,, i also think i want to make her transfem, because transfem olivia is so good and she reminds me of some of my transfem friends,,
axel never gives me the vibes that he'd care about romance or anything like that, so i thought of him being aromantic, maybe even asexual? i think he has a very queerplatonic relationship with his friends, specifically jesse and petra :] i also love the idea of him using he/they pronouns. axel's fine with being called a man, but they kinda wanna get silly with it sometimes, yakno?
again i wanna write so much more but this has already taken me like, 30 minutes?? soo i'll just end that here for now hsgjhsgse

He takes YOUR clothes (slight NSFW/18+!)
Kokushibou is out for some revenge after you took his clothes😈
You went in the bath after a long day. You just wanted to relax and take time to yourself. Kokushibou had gone out on a mission a couple of days ago, and he probably wouldn't be back until tomorrow. You had been catching up on self-care and doing other things that you wanted to do without possibly being interrupted by your demon lover.
You don't really mind when he interrupts you, but still, he gets in the way sometimes.
After spending a lengthy time in the bath, you get out and dry yourself off. You then go out into the bedroom to put on the clothes you had set aside for yourself.
Except, they weren't there.
You were very confused. You rewind your memory and think through what you had done before you got in the bath and you swore you set out some clothes for after the bath. But, no problem, maybe you forgot after all. You could just go into the wardrobe and get what you wanted.
Except, there was not a single item of your clothing in your side of the wardrobe. The other side was filled as usual, but all with Kokushibou's clothes. You could try to wear them, but they'd be too big on you and would be basically falling off. But trying to wear Kokushibou's clothes wasn't what was on your mind. How the hell did all of your clothes disappear?
You're standing there naked and frozen in shock. Is this really happening? Is it a dream? Yes, maybe you fell asleep in the bath and this is your dream. It was relaxing enough in there to fall asleep.
"Looking for something, Love?"
You hear Kokushibou speaking in a teasing tone at the doorway to your bedroom.
He's back? You think. You hadn't planned for that.
You're not really embarrassed about being naked in front of him, because he's seen it all before, anyway. And, you're from a more modern time period so you aren't as modest as your demon lover is. You shamelessly turn around to face him, flashing him with the entire front side of your body.
But your expression and your confidence immediately changes. You see the clothes you set aside for yourself draped over Kokushibou's broad shoulder. Kokushibou is snickering under his breath with a very mischievous look on his face.
Tumblr media
Yeah, he looks like this. He's enjoying every minute.
Your face gets red. "Koku, ehm ... what are ..." You smile nervously. "What are you doing back so soon?"
Kokushibou pats the clothes draped over his shoulder. "You know that I can't bear being away from you, my dearest y/n," he says.
He's still snickering like a naughty child. He never got to do shit like this as a kid because his dad would have beat him up if he did, so you can't blame the man, but still ...
... he has your clothes.
"Koku, give me back my clothes," you say, a bit sternly.
"Ah, it doesn't feel so good, does it," he says and hums a "mhm" to himself. "Do you not remember when you played a sneaky little trick on me when I was washing?"
Of course you did.
"Ah." You scratch your head. "So, it's payback."
He pats the clothes over his shoulder. "You couldn't find anything in there either, could you, my love?" His eyes gesture to the wardrobe behind you.
You're starting to get angry now. You might have taken his clothes but you didn't do this. "Yeah, and what happened to all of my other clothes, huh?"
Kokushibou snorts. He wants to burst out laughing but he's holding it back. "I took them away."
"You did what!?"
He giggles a little. "I took them away," he repeats in a sing-songy tone.
"To where?" You narrow your eyes at him.
"Somewhere."
You strictly extend your arm. "Kokushibou, give me my clothes."
"You'll have to catch me!" He runs off.
You know how fast he is and he's much faster than you, so you don't even take the time to throw on one of his kimonos so you have something covering you. You run out of the bedroom, completely naked, and chase after him with all of your might. Kokushibou doesn't go so fast that you lose him, but he stays a distance ahead of you. You can hear him laughing and you can see him looking back at you, very obviously enjoying the view.
The two of you keep running through the Infinity Castle like that, making a huge ruckus. Kokushibou knows that the inside of the castle should be kept quiet, so he runs outside onto the ground.
Oh fuck! You think. You hesitate to continue to run after him, but you do it anyway. You're going to get him and teach him a lesson. Your determination to do that outweighs the shame you'd have for running outdoors naked.
"Y/n! Y/n! You're slow!" Kokushibou calls. He laughs harder. It's a really hearty kind of laugh, coming straight from the depths of his belly.
It's nice that he's having so much fun, and hearing him laugh so much is making you smile but DAMMIT YOU WANT YOUR CLOTHES.
Kokushibou takes you half a lap around the castle before he intentionally slows down, having tortured you enough (and having gotten enough of the view he wanted). He stops suddenly, and you're going at your top speed. You aren't able to come to a halt immediately, so you slide into him, knocking him onto the ground. The next thing you know, you're on top of him.
Kokushibou is laughing and grabbing at your body. His eyes are so full of life and of course, he's blushing.
"I like you right here, exactly as you are," he says to you and gives your bare ass a squeeze.
Now that you caught him and can snatch your clothes to put them on whenever you want to, you're laughing, too. You grind against his clothed crotch. He grunts and groans under his breath, staring into you eyes as he starts to help you move in the way he wants.
The two of you are so much in the moment that you've forgotten that you're outside.
"Ahh ... Kokushibou ..." you say quietly and bring your lips to his. You don't hesitate to stick your tongue in his mouth as you kiss him.
This is perfect. Both of you are on the way to reach feelings of bliss, and your mouths are already feeling them. Until ...
... there is an angry knocking at the window.
You had chased Kokushibou halfway around the Infinity Castle, and when you tackled him to the ground, you ended up just a couple meters away from the castle wall.
The knocking continues, harder this time. Your lips part from Kokushibou's.
Kokushibou scowls. "Who's disturbing us now ...?"
You were both still riding on the remnants of your ecstasy that you still haven't realised that you were not in private.
The window opened.
"KOKUSHIBOU," came Muzan's snapping, angry voice.
Tumblr media
Kokushibou looked petrified. He gasped a little.
Your body started to shiver. You stared down at Kokushibou. You wouldn't dare look up at that window.
"Y-yes, Muzan-sama ...?" Kokushibou spoke, trying to conceal how his voice was shaking. He looked up at the window with his middle and upper eyes.
Muzan was leaning out the window, dressed in a white shirt and ornate vest. "WHAT do you think you are doing out here ..." Every word that came out of his mouth was like a sharp dagger.
Kokushibou's Adam's Apple bobbed as he swallowed a thick, sour clump of saliva. "I am -- I am -- I --" He couldn't speak.
"Get this filthy work away from my wing," Muzan sneered. "If it were anyone else but you, Kokushibou, both of you would be dead."
"I -- Yes, Muzan-sama. Yes," Kokushibou said.
"I will count to five and you better be out of my sight."
It didn't even take until Muzan counted to one before Kokushibou had you wrapped in his arms and evacuated the area. He sped at his top speed back to your wing and delivered you both to your bedroom.
He was careful when he set you down on the futon, but with himself, he was not so gentle. His knees buckled from under him and he fell to the floor. His face, ears, and neck were all as red as a bright tomato.
"Kokushibou," you said and went over to him. You wrapped an arm around him and rested your chin on his shoulder. "Kokushibou, it'll be all right."
"I ... can't believe ... this happened ..." he said. He covered his face with his hands.
"It'll be fine. Muzan's just grumpy. He won't hold it against you."
"I will never live this down ..."
"Just give it time." You kiss him in his hair.
He takes some deep breaths. You continue to kiss him in his hair and stroke his hair. It calms him.
"It'll all be fine ... it'll all be fine ..." you say in a soothing voice.
"Y-yes." He puffs out a long, loud deep breath. "Thank you, y/n." He takes another deep breath and looks at you. "I know I can overcome anything as long as you're by my side."
You tuck some of his bangs behind his ear and give him a kiss to his forehead. He sighs.
"You should get dressed now. I do apologise for how this turned out." He bows his head to you.
You gently push at his chin to rise his head. "There's no need. Really." You smile. "It was fun."
Kokushibou smiles a little. "Also, your half of the wardrobe is packed in the other room. I didn't dispose of anything." He snickers. He then turns to his other shoulder where he had been carrying your clothes. But when he turns, nothing is there.
You lean over to see. "Ehm ... where's the stuff I wanted to wear after my bath."
He looks at you, his face beet red again. "I must have dropped it." He falls backwards onto the futon and stares up at the ceiling. "I am an idiot."
You snicker and cuddle up to him. "But you're my idiot."

Greed's weakness
Tumblr media
----------------------------------------------------------
Decided to write again thanks to the encouragement of my beloved @nataliewritez . Thank you so much for your encouragement dear! Without further ado, have some lee!greed
TW: light swearing, tickles
----------------------------------------------------------
It had been going on like this for far too long, Greed had a bad habit of not sleeping enough. That in and of itself wouldn't be too bad if he didn't constantly mutter things to himself, seemingly having lengthy conversations with Ling.
Edward has had enough, he's a guy who loves sleeping, and Greed's constant mumbling wasn't easy to fall asleep to.
"Greed can you shut up??" Ed called out for what seemed to be the millionth time from his sleeping bag, but he got no response. At first he assumed Greed was just in deep conversation, but after catching a glimpse of a smirk he got the feeling he was being ignored on purpose. Most likely by both Greed and Ling, they both had a love for annoying Ed.
More mumbling came from Greed, almost louder this time. That was it, if Greed won't listen then Ed will MAKE him listen!
At this point greed wasn't even saying anything, he was only muttering nonsense to further annoy the short alchemist and to amuse himself. He expected to be yelled at again, but what instead happened was Ed throwing himself towards Greed, grabbing him by the shoulders and tackling him to the ground.
The kid was nimble, he'll give him that. He didn't even have time to react. Although the tingling feeling by his shoulders was also a bit of a distraction. Everytime Ed's hands slightly moved it'd send more strange sensations through his body, causing his judgement to become slightly fuzzy.
"I've had enough of your damn babbling and jammering- I cannot sleep i... you.." The sound of his voice was becoming a bit more muffled, Ling was trying to listen in a bit on the conversation as well.
Ling tried to sneakily rise to the surface for a bit, just to understand what got Greed so twitchy all of a sudden. He felt the slight tingling around where the red marks Greed had caused to appear on the front of his shoulders.
Hm.. that feels almost.. Oh. OH.
Ling smirked to himself as he sank back down into their conciousness, suddenly realizing just why Greed was so on edge.
"And for the- Are you even listening!?" Ed shook him a bit in frustration, although he didn't expect Greed to grab his wrists. Now that Ed looked closer, it almost looked like Greed was.. blushing? He looked down at his hands and back to Greed, catching the faintest hint of a smile on his lips.
"Huh? Wha.. Greed.. Are you.. Ticklish?" His smirk grew wider by the second and Greed suddenly felt very vulnerable.
He had never experienced what Ed was describing as "ticklish", but from the small bits and pieces of memories he'd been able to see through Ling he had an idea of what it was.
If he was being honest with himself for just a moment, he had wanted to know just how it felt, but now he's getting nervous at how smug Ed and Ling seemed.
'Oh yeah? You wanna know what being tickled feels like? Seems like you're about to find out~' Ling teased from inside his head. Damn their shared mental space.
'Shut up, princey' He snarked back, trying to cling onto his dignity.
His talk with Ling was cut short by an elecric sort of feeling in his side, Ed had experimentally squeezed his side and caused him to jolt from the sensation.
"Oho man, this is good. Big, bad Greed: Ticklish!" Ed laughed, excitement glimmering in his eyes. Before Greed could clap back with some smartass comment Ed used both of his hands to methodically squeeze up and down his sides, causing Greed to slam his mouth shut in order to keep the involuntary giggles from slipping out.
Greed settled on digging his heels into the soft dirt underneath him as he tries to keep the slowly building laughter down, all the while having Ling and Ed make constant quips from both inside of his hesd and outside.
Ed was easy enough to ignore, but ignoring a constant teasing voice in your head proved to be a bit harder, the crimson blush slowly taking over his face being solid proof.
"Hey, Ling, I had no clue you could blush like that! Or is it just a Greed thing..?" Edward squinted his eyes at the blushing homonculus, suddenly questioning if Greed and Ling can show a differense physically.
'So that's what that is! I was wondering why our face felt so hot, you're blushing~' Ling teases from inside their mind.
"GrraHAha- Shut uhup brahat!" Greed exclaims, completely foregoing the internal monolouge as Ed's fingers hit the lower edge of his ribs.
"That's rude!" 'That's rude!' Both Ed and Ling call out, almost at the exact same time
"Fuhuck, you guhuys eheven tahalk at thehe sahame thihime!" Greed groans through his laughter, which sounds surprisingly boyish compared to his voice.
Suddenly the maddening sensations seemed to dull as Ling pushed himself to the front briefly. The relief of it all caused Greed to stop paying attention and he missed what Ling said, but whatever it was it made Ed grin like a little kid in a candy store.
"Hehey Edward! Try the rehed circles around our shoulders! I think thehey're weak points" Ling chuckles, the ticklish sensations dulled for him.
"Wh- Ling? Alright" Ed quickly recovered from the surprise of seeing Ling surface and he grew a shit-eating grin.
Greed was then shoved back to the front once more, and froze when he felt where Ed's hands were now resting. He already felt the slight buzzing from Ed placing his hands above the marks, and he desperatly fought back an anticipatory smile.
"Alright that's en- EEAH!" He was once more interrupted by Ed, experimentally scribbling roughly over the area where his marks should be. The black button-up shirt Ling had worn before turning did nothing to protect him from Ed's slow scratching, it was driving him up the wall. He slammed his heels against the ground and went to grab Ed's wrists, but found he had no control over his arms. Damn you, Ling, you sneaky bastard.
He swears he could feel Ling sticking his tongue out at him.
"GeHET OHOFF OHOF MEHEE! EHELRIC!-" His voice broke in the manner a teenage boy's voice might, damn this teenage body of his.
"Hoholy crap, Ling was right on the money!" Ed chuckled, opting to scribble with one of his hands and trace the rough outline of the markings with the other.
Greed felt hot tears pricking the corners of his eyes and his stomach burned from laughing so much.
"IHIM GOHOING TO KIHILL YOHOU PRIHINCEHEY!" He calls out to Ling, who had caught on to Greed reaching his limit.
Greed feels a much welcome calm wash over him (As calm as it can get in a space with hundreds of screaming souls) as he is pushed to the back.
"Ahalright Ed, he's had ehenough." Ling chuckles as the residual tickles affected him, Ed got the message and let him go, watching Greed- Ling? Meh, he can't tell right now.
After a moment he reached out but stopped himself, instead opting for an unsure "Ling?"
He then sees Ling-Greed get up and understands immediately who it is, if the terrifying grin is any indication. "Nope, it's Greed, kid."
Before Ed can get out another word he is tackled to the ground and quickly finds out what happens if you mess with Greed.
Although, he noticed the prevolent blush on Greed's ears and didn't understand why he'd be the one blushing.
But Greed knew, after all, Ling is never going to shut up about this now.

Hello hello! Sorry for being really specific here, but can I request the ROTTMNT turtles with a axolotl reader, and they have a long tail (I love tails, I’m sorry-), and they’re like smaller than Mikey, but can pack a punch? Sorry again if this is too specific, lol, you can just do the axolotl part if this is too much. Remember to drink water and take care of yourself! Thank you!
✪TURTLE BROS X AXOLOTL READER ✪
Summary:
The turtle bros with a Axolotl reader that may look small, but can absolutely kick ass
Warning(s):
None!
A/N:
Tysm for requesting this, I love axolotls, also TY FOR SO MUCH LOVE ON MY OTHER POST like what?? Anyways here we go (gender-neutral reader)
Tumblr media
《RAPH》
He thinks you're really cool
He likes that you don't let your size get the best of you
And to be honest half of the time your here he's looking at your tail swinging back and forth
Sometimes you catch him staring...
"Yeah and so after that-" you paused to glance over at raph, who's apparently to busy looking at your tail to focus on the totally important conversation you guys were having, you gave him a quick little slap with your tail to his cheek that woke him up from his trance.
"HUH! Wha?" He looked around the room all confused, but you just continued talking.
He was surprised when you completely OBLITERATED those origami ninjas when you decided to come along on one of their missions
He thought you were gonna get hurt so he was trying to stay close to you, but when you handled them (like a boss) he was like 'damn okay I see you'
You guys definitely have each others backs
《LEO》
This man will tease you non-stop about your height
Like he will baby you, calling you a kid and stuff
He'll only stop when you knock some sense into him
And your tail...
You bet on your LIFE that he's grabbing it
Tries to be sneaky about it
You were sitting on a chair scrolling through social media, waiting for Leo to come back because he said and I quote 'I have to walk my fish' you didn't mind cause, well, it's Leo, but you suddenly feel someone trying to creep up on you, you waited for the right moment to, jump up out of your chair and kick them in the back, only to find Leo on the floor instead, "What the hell man? what are you doing?" You ask.
"Nothin'.."
Just let him give your tail a few strokes please he can't move on without knowing how it feels
《DONNIE》
Fascinated, to say the least
Like who wouldn't be, look at that lengthy tail.
He would measure it, take notes, ask questions, man's is IMMERSED
And to top all of that off, your strong? Holy moly
When you guys are fighting, he will be focusing on your moves, and how you add your tail into your attacks
He's so impressed that he gets hit by his own weapon.
"Nice momentum [Name]!" Donnie grunted.
"Thanks Don-tron, WAIT OH MY GOSH LOOK OUT" you say as you watched him get hit by his own bo staff.
Asks you to stay still sometimes so he can watch your tail move on its own
It may be a little annoying but he's having fun, in his own way.
(Nerd)
《MIKEY》
Mikey is also fascinated, he thinks you and your tail is cute
He's not the shortest anymore yayy
I'm just saying that he would doodle and draw on your tail
If you let him of course
OMG JUST IMAGINE...
"Are you done yet Mikey?" You questioned, wanting to get up and stretch.
"Just adding some finishing details and...done!" You got up to go look in a mirror and see your tail covered in flowers, smiley faces, and vines, and you noticed the little 'Mikey wuz here ;P' on your tail.
He likes that you can fight for yourself
I can imagine him watching you practice your punches and kicks.
I love Mikey so much guys
Thank you for requesting this! I feel like I messed up Donnies part a bit though, have a great day/night!

Hi, Jil!! Just popping in because of your tags on my fic asdfghjkl
I did write "this one is for my Pokémon mutuals" with the thought "specifically Jil" in parentheses in my head--you're like ... my main Pokémon mutual. Gotta share some breadcrumbs of Aria/Eusine with THE Pokémon mutual, of course.
Also Eusine is a fairly arrogant character--he's very proud of his knowledge of myths (oh no ... a man who likes history ... and me having a history degree ... how could I resist ... /lh) and does tend to dismiss others when they try to correct him. He's not as dismissive of Aria or Morty, though, because ... *childhood friends beam.* Also maybe he likes Aria that way, so he's a bit easier on her, who knows--
Anyway, I had the misfortune of seeing the only (?) Johto anime episode with him as a kid, and little 9-year-old Sarah really though, "Man. This guy's a jerk." Little did she know she'd fall for that jerk years later. We don't talk about that--
The loss of the shiny Pidgey exists because I was training Ollie (my Chikorita/Bayleef/Meganium) in HG the other day, encountered a shiny Pidgey, and realized I didn't have any more Poké Balls--massive loss. But also a win because ship lore. And also the second time I've run into a shiny Pidgey while playing a Johto game ... maybe someday I'll actually catch the thing.
ANYWAY. I always felt Suicune would prefer Aria over Eusine (similar to the way the plot unfolds in the games, with Eusine eventually ceding the right to catch Suicune to the player), and while she would like to catch it, she's not as ... let's say ... passionate about it as Eusine is. Hence why Suicune tends to respond to her.
... she does think him chasing after Suicune all the time cute, though. It's very subtle, but she would've been mega embarrassed to fail that Pidgey in front of him--because, while it's not stated directly, she's imagining a scene where she failed at her life goal in front of her crush. It's not like Eusine doesn't do that on a regular basis, but that only makes it worse for Aria asdfghjkl
I also liked writing the subtle “… you were talking to Suicune about me?” followed by Aria immediately changing the subject--and then her adjusting his bow tie later. Subtle things get me all the time--
Anyway, uh--Morty, huh? 👀 /lh
(And sorry for the essay--I just. Have a lot to say and like to respond to tags through asks, sometimes asdfghjkl)
~ heart-of-aspiration 📖
HI SARAHH!! - oh man the fact you had me in particular to share the aria/eusine ship makes me SO honored ("THE pokemon mutual", that made me audibly giggle) and i'm honestly here for it, and you can tell i can definitely like - have the capacity to take batch after batch of hardcore pokemon ship/self insert lore (and be equally as talkative and lengthy about it...) so naturally i'd immediately gravitate here, and it's characters belonging to gen 2 which i'm incredibly biased to.... AHFJSHFGAS
i should've expected this from eusine - it would seem that he doesn't seem too dissimilar to his manga counterpart (which is radiating the same vibes as how you written him, he's definitely arrogant but kind enough to help) i actually should share some panels of him maybe! i'll admit that he was really hilarious for being lowkey petty due to a certain circumstance in the manga, but moving on!
i respect that his attitude is toned down towards aria and morty, they're totally good friends and morty doesn't seem like someone who'd engage in fights quickly - he's super relaxed and wise...
the whole pidgey story got me WAHUSHASHDAF THAT'S SUCH A MISSED OPPORTUNITYYY but that moment was enough to be a realistic incident for aria and i LOVE it. i hope you can actually catch that shiny birdie!!
i can totally imagine a scenario where she notices eusine on his failed attempts to catch suicune and he probably curses to himself (assuming he's alone) and aria would just quietly laugh, reminding herself how much she adores him and how cute he is for that - i swear i know a dynamic where they had a similar vibe to this but i can't seem to point out who or what -- but my point is, i love that dynamic so much. it doesn't feel TOO much like a rivalry but it's enough to at least poke fun at each other's professions + their little romance heheh ITS JUSTTT. YEAHHH!!!
let's not talk about morty /lh /pos the headband makes him look so cute combined with his relaxed personality and i'm on a hunt for a misdreavus and to name it after him as we speak WAHUSDHAUFS (IT'S NOT SUCCESSFUL HOWEVER BUT I'M GETTING THERE) let's just say he's one of the early crushes i have - not too active but i... would like to hold his hand HWAJHSDJAHJFDSAF. if he ever resurfaces im running to you immediately /pos /lh

Here’s a lengthy retrospective on how I grew up in an environment that was a lot more accepting of trans people, and how that left a positive impact on my views and beliefs today.
I think my first introduction to transexuality was in 2004 ish. I was 9 or 10 and there was this commercial on a filipino tv station for what I think was a phone provider. There was an older lady, along with who I assume was either a drag queen or a trans woman, dancing and singing a catchy jingle together. of course I was just a kid, so I thought, “huh, that’s kinda funny. Why is that man wearing a dress? How silly.” But I didn’t really think any further than that. I heard this commercial many times growing up, I even have the melody memorized to this day. I never once felt disgust or hatred for the “guy in a dress,” I just thought the commercial was funny. My parents never felt the need to explain it to me or shield my eyes or lecture me about gender roles whenever the commercial came on. They just treated it like a normal commercial. It was just a fun time with two people singing and dancing to a jingle about phone providers. Nothing deeper than that.
The next memory I can recall was my first time learning about transgender men. I think I was maybe 11 (so 2006 ish). There was a TV special on whatever channel my mom was watching where they interviewed an older trans man, who talked about his childhood growing up as a girl and why he decided to transition. Again, my mom didn’t like.. freak out or anything. She treated it like it was just another show she was watching. She didnt make any rude or disparaging comments about the guy, she just found the whole interview interesting. As for me, I was intrigued by this man’s story. First off, I was mind blown by how this person, who was born female, looked and sounded so much like a man. I didn’t think that was possible, but now I knew it was. Once again, I felt no hatred or fear or disgust. Just curiosity. I watched a bit of the interview, then got bored and carried on with whatever I was doing before.
Then when I was either 12 or 15 (I honestly can’t remember whether it was 2007 or 2010) I had my hair rebonded by a hairstylist in the Philippines. The hairstylist was an out and proud trans woman. She was recommended by my aunt, and my parents had no reason to object to her doing my hair. I didn’t talk much to the hairstylist, not because I was uncomfortable with her, but because I was just a shy and unsocial teenager lol. But my mom and my aunt had a great time talking to the hairstylist. Though I couldn’t understand much of what they were saying, it definitely sounded like they were all getting along. After the stylist left, my mom didn’t make any negative comments about her to me. And I once again never felt any kind of disgust towards her. She was just my hairstylist for the day, and that was it.
When I learned about transphobia later on in life, I was disappointed but not surprised. Obviously it was just another form of discrimination, which didn’t sit right with me. But it wasn’t just mere bigotry that bothered me. It was their reasoning. Every time I see a conservative or transphobe complain about how trans people are corrupting the youth or indoctrinating kids, I just think back at my childhood. Maybe it’s because I was introduced to transexuality in a very neutral manner, or maybe it’s because I was still young and politically unaware, or maybe it’s because my parents weren’t hateful bigots. But I never saw or heard anything negative about trans people growing up. As far as my young mind could comprehend, they were just people wanted to change their gender. Thats hardly a reason for them to be hated, and yet, conservatives find a way to hate them.
I’m someone who wants kids in the near future and I just know im gonna get hate from conservatives who think im “brainwashing” my kids by teaching them that different genders and sexualities exist. Because in their mind, I would be “forcing” them to learn “against their will.” But they couldn’t be more wrong. I’ll simply do what my parents did and approach it as if we’re a normal subject. Were my parents “forcing the trans agenda” onto me when they allowed the phone commercial to play? Were they “forcing the trans agenda” by letting me watch a non political interview of a trans man? Were they “forcing the trans agenda” by letting a trans woman rebond my hair? Obviously not. But if they had shielded my eyes, if they had made rude comments, if they had forbid the hairstylist from doing my hair, I guarantee it would have instilled some type of fear in my young and impressionable mind. I likely would not have grown up as accepting of trans identities as I am now. And I feel like that is what happened to most transphobes.
Looking back, I’m so grateful for my parents’ nonchalant attitude towards different gender expressions. I truly believe hate is taught, and it never once crossed their minds to teach me to hate another person for the way they express themselves. Considering they had catholic upbringings, they could have easily taught me to be uncomfortable, hateful, or even fearful of transgender people. Similar to how a lot of conservatives are today. My parents aren’t perfect, and like all of us they have their unchecked biases. But it gives me comfort that when I eventually become a parent, I have a good blueprint to follow.

hi sage!!!! I've never seen Phantom of the Opera so please tell me about it!!! ^-^
FUCK i accidentally. deleted my original response. okay. this is gonna be lengthy. sowwy. i'm uhhhh gonna give you the ALW musical plot first. the novel isn't exactly like the musical (id say the musical sexyman-ified the phantom) but it's where i started and it's near and dear to my heart. also ALW stands for andrew lloyd webber. he's the guy who wrote it.
okay. basically the start of the musical features the opera house changing hands to new owners. they're cool. they're watching the stage rehearsal for the opera they're putting on tonight (hannibal) and the primadonna (carlotta) is singing her big solo when BAM a stage set falls on her. and everyone is like fuck!!!!! and all the ballerinas think the phantom of the opera did it (he did btw) and so carlotta gets pissed off and fucking QUITS. and so everyone is panicking until madame giry (a woman who works at the opera house. she helps the ballerinas) is like hmm. christine daaé should be the lead. and everyone is like but christine fucking SUCKS but then christine sings and everyone is like oh? how does she not suck now? and so she gets cast as the lead. everything's great. opening night goes off without a hitch! in fact, christine's childhood best friend raoul is in the crowd and he falls for her!!! woah!!!!
anywya. after the show christine's good girlbestie meg is taking christine back to her room and is like. hey christine. how'd you improve so quickly. and christine is like "my dead dad sent an angel to teach me to sing" and meg is like haha good one christine! ok but how did you though :) and then the scene cuts.
in her dressing room raoul shows up and is like christine! hey! haven't seen you since you were a kid! also sorry about your dead dad. wanna get dinner? and christine is like yessss oh wait. the ghost isn't gonna like that. and raoul is like haha funny! i'll see you at dinner :) (he does not)
anywya. phantom shows off. he's fucking pissed. calls raoul a "slave of fashion/basking in [christine's] glory". and that makes me fucking lose it. anyway. he's mad. christine placates him and is like Please don't kill him. phantom is like ok. but you have to come to my sewer home <3 and she's like fine! i guess! and raoul hasn't quite left yet (he's outside the locked door) and hears this and is like. hey christine What are you doing in there! but it's too late!!! she's been taken!!!!!!!
and then they sing an absolute BANGER duet i like to analyze the lyrics of. i can overanalyze the shit out of "the phantom of the opera" from phantom of the opera. interesting dichotomy between christine's beauty and the phantom's voice. ough. it's so fuckin good. i can play it on my violin actually. anyway. phantom takes her to the sewer dungeon. there's a horse there. it's cool. he's like "ok now you are in my Dungeon i'm going to reveal my emo anime backstory" and he sings music of the night (also a banger) about how christine should embrace the darkness (him) instead of the light (raoul). i love media analysis. also she fucking passes out i guess? (tbh i would too if i got kidnapped to the paris opera house sewers) and he lays her in a bed. also depending on the show he has a wedding dress made for her. maybe he's a bit too excited about the marriage
anyway. christine wakes up and he's composing some music and she's like. huh. wonder what he looks like under his half face mask. and she yanks it off and reveals The Horror. which has a couple ways of showing itself depending on the show. sometimes he has brain showing. sometimes he just looks like todoroki from my hero. anyway he's fuckign MAD and yells at her before calming down. and then he just takes her back so she can "find the man behind the monster". this makes more sense in the book. anywya
cut to the next day. the new owners are Not having a good time because primadonna 1 (carlotta) quit and primadonna 2 (christine) is missing. and they get a note from the phantom saying not to worry and that christine is safe and won't be coming back. until carlotta shows up and she's MAD and she's like "i got a NOTE telling me to QUIT? so i won't quit <3" and raoul shows up and is like. hey guys where the fuck is christine. and then madame giry and meg show up with the final note from the phantom (he sends a lot for the record. mostly asking for money) where he says he's giving christine back but she needs to be cast as the lead or "a disaster beyond your imagination will occur". the directors ignore this and cast carlotta because carlotta threatens to quit. again.
anywya opening night is going fine until the phantom starts yelling. and he's MAD cause there's someone sitting in his booth. so he makes carlotta croak like a frog cause he thinks it's funny. and also he crashes the chandelier. also because he's mad. and also he's killed someone. oops. he's got some issues
christine gets freaked out and drags raoul to the roof to confide in him about what happened when she went missing (the phantom secretly eavesdrops on this). and raoul promises to take christine away and they sing about love and like. this song genuinely makes me cry. it makes me fucking lose it. "love me, that's all i ask of you" GRBRGGRRBRRGGRRRBRRRR. ok. they go back inside. and yknow how the phantom was listening. well he's a little mad christine doesn't want to kiss him. so he vows to make them "curse the day [they] did not do/all that the phantom asks of you" Do you see the parallel. raoul and christine's relationship is ultimately selfless; they ask only one thing of the other VS the phantom and christine where he expects her to follow his rule Shakes you like a bag of beans. Do you get it.
okay intermission. comes back and a few months have past. christine and raoul are engaged to be married. they got a new chandelier. masquerade is a fucking banger. and basically everyone's having w good time till the phantom shows up and is like. heyyy bitches. i got another note for you. and he makes a vague threat about christine
they read the note. phantom demands they play his don juan (opera about a guy that basically catfishes every girl in town for sex because he's rich. very large oversight. but you get it) arrangement. and then raoul is like. okay but what if we Kill the phantom. and everyone likes this idea except christine who's like. i miss my dead dad. so while everyone is rehearsing she sneaks off to visit her father's grave and like. kaoru hakaze song Kaoru Hakaze Song. "wishing i could hear your voice again/knowing that i never will" Crying. Wailing. Waugh. anyway turns out the phantom followed her and he's like yesssss i am the ghost of your dead father you should come with me to the dungeon again and raoul is like hey christine Don't. and christine is really fuckin sad but she returns to raoul and they go back to the opera house
anywya. plan to kill the phantom is for christine to play one of the women who don juan gets a little 😏😏 with. and so the phantom will be like I want to do that witch christine. and they have guards with guns. and it fuckin works. they sing a really horny song that slays o think. top 10 moments where i want to be the phantom (i long for the touch of a woman). anyway. they finish its chill until christine rips his mask off on stage. and like. he's a little angry. and he takes her to the basement dungeon again. also it turns out he's killed more people again.
anywya raoul is freaking out cause they were supposed to kill the phantom not let him kidnap christine again. and the opera house is in a panic. then madam giry shows up and gives him advice on how to survive the phantom ("keep your hand at the level of your eye") and meg is like i wanna help! and madame giry is like NO
anyway. now there's a mob after the phantom cause he just kidnapped a girl. and he's currently trying to get christine to marry him. remember that wedding dress? yeah well he's making her wear it now. and she's like. hey can you please let me go home. and he's like NO i have mommy issues. ("the fate which condemns me/to wallow in blood/has also denied me/the joys of the flesh" goes fucking hard though. fucking great line) anyway raoul makes it down and tries to save christine and things go Terribly wrong and so now the phantom demands that christine "start a new life with me/buy his freedom with your love/refuse me and you send your lover to his death". and eventually christine offers the phantom kindness, something hes never been given before, via a kiss, which causes the phantom to realize the error of his ways and let christine and raoul go and leave them to live their lives. also the angry mob is here now but somehow the phantom vanished before they reach his lair! the end <3
all the songs are on spotify/youtube/etc id definitely recommend listening to it. the music is fucking AMAZING and you can follow the plot pretty well just by listening. watching it is super fun but just listening sometimes. ough. Ough. also do NOT watch the 2006 movie/listen to that soundtrack it's BAD sorry i'm a POTO gatekeeper. it's the first one i watched and the uh. the singing is laughably bad sometimes
now the ALW musical is good but also funny if you think about it. because (1) the phantom is a very obvious self insert for ALW (christine was originally played by his then-wife, for instance) and (2) after ALW got divorced he wrote a uh. sequel (love never dies). in which the phantom now runs a new york freak show (mind you he spent his childhood in a freak show where he was the main attraction) where madam giry and meg work under him. and meg has a crush on him. anyway the plot of THAT is lengthy and ultimately fucking hilarious (lindsay ellis has a very good video about it) but my favorite parts are uh. 1) the 8 minute ballad about christine and the phantom having sex 2) the actor for christine's son was originally supposed to be incredibly musically gifted (hence how the phantom realizes that gustav is his son and not raoul's) and that realization was supposed to happen after gustav plays his own composition that is reminscient of the phantom's. yadda yadda. well the actor for the kid in the version lindsay ellis covered was really bad at music so they just had the kid play chopsticks and it's laughably bad. and 3) the part where uh (checks notes) meg giry, minor character in POTO, kidnaps gustav at gunpoint to commit double suicide so the phantom has to negotiate a hostage crisis ("give me the gun meg") and it ultimately leads to meg shooting christine. this makes me fucking lose it. love never dies has a less cohesive plot line that some really shitty fics i wrote when i was 12. and i adore it.
now the original novel (phantom of the opera) was written by gaston leroux. and the order of events slightly shifts but most of it is the same. and i enjoy that one even more. personal favorite events include a) the phantom stealing a horse b) raoul seeing christine get kidnapped and having to think really hard about whether she's a whore or not while sobbing uncontrollably c) the part where the persian shows up at the phantom's lair and is like "please stop kidnapping people" and the phantom is like HAHA ID NEVER DO THAT. ALSO LEAVE MY TORTURE DUNGEON. d) the very fact the phantom has a torture dungeon e) the fact christine tries to kill herself 3 separate times (once by beating her head into a wall repeatedly!) f) the many times raoul and the phantom sob uncontrollably at christine's feet while she just stares at them g) the time raoul shoots a cat while thinking it's the phantom (it's not). ALSO you may have noticed: the persian is not in the ALW musical. well that's cause webber wrote him out. and instead madame giry does what he did in the book. in the book madame giry is a comic relief character

for character ask thing davepeta, dualscar, and roses mom
ohhhh these are fun! this might get a little lengthy though so let me do these below the cut
for davepeta:
first impression:
iirc, i liked davepeta's design but i found them kind of annoying at first tbh
impression now:
i'm kin with davepeta they're literally me if they've ever done anything wrong UM. no they haven't
favorite moment:
claw claw motherfuckers
additionally i really love the undertale themed battle with them in [s] collide
idea for a story:
head is,,, enmpty,,,
unpopular opinion:
none that i can think of!
favorite relationship:
uh idk i don't rlly ship davepeta w/ anybody but i guess i liked their dynamic with john in the epilogues?? bcuz that part where they were just like "meowr you got vored" was so fucking funny
favorite headcanon:
oh man oh jeez oh boy i
for dualscar:
first impression:
i wanna say at first i didn't pay him much mind bcuz literally the only ancestors that i cared about were the signless, the dolorosa, the disciple, and the helmsman BUT
impression now:
now i literally love him to death like don't get me wrong the signless dolorosa disciple and helmsman will probably like always be my favorites out of all the ancestors but dualscar would probably have to be a close second for me i swear
favorite moment:
the part where he fucking dies- SHJHAJKAJK okay but the fact he canonically died bcuz he told a BAD JOKE to tgh is so fucking funny to me i will never recover
idea for a story:
sorry wow my head is enmpty
unpopular opinion:
i don't think i have any :(
favorite relationship:
definitely him and the helmsman i know they're kissing. him and the dolorosa are also kissing i know it deep down in my heart
favorite headcanon:
i like to imagine the joke that got him killed was a candice dick joke. like he went up to tgh and asked him like, "hey have you seen candice?" and tgh's just like "candice..?" and dualscar's like "CAN THIS DICK FIT IN YO MOUTH HA-" and then tgh just starts like fucking strangling him idk
for rose's mom:
first impression:
bitch ass motherfucker
impression now:
bitch ass motherfucker
favorite moment:
none of them get this bitch off my screen
idea for a story:
rose's mom FUCKING DIES noooo no i'm kidding idk i just like. idk i want more angst between rose and her mom i personally like to interpret rose's mom as like. neglectful at best and downright abusive at worst
unpopular opinion:
okay i actually have no idea if this is an unpopular opinion or not but it sure is an opinion!
so we all know that the epilogues, homestuck^2, and pesterquest are all dubiously canon right? meaning they are as canon as you want them to be and listen when it comes to the epilogues and homestuck^2 i don't rlly take them as canon as much as i take them as like, these wacky what-if scenarios like "HEY what-if everything went to shit huh what then" bcuz like they do bring up some interesting concepts i just refuse to believe that's what actually happened like fr, y'know?
but my point is is that i do view pesterquest mostly as canon bcuz i rlly rlly like pesterquest and in pesterquest rose says this:
ROSE: You know how long it's been since I've had a homecooked meal? ROSE: And I'm not saying that I require, or even deserve, a lovingly crafted culinary masterpiece every time I sit down to eat. That's going a bit far. ROSE: I know John complains about being plagued by fatherly concern every chance he gets. ROSE: He is overwhelmed by pastries whenever he ventures from his room. ROSE: I'm glad my mother doesn't poke her considerable nose into my private affairs. ROSE: But I'm sick of eating oatmeal.
so it is in my humble opinion that rose's mom is too drunk off of her ass most the time to so much as MAKE FOOD for rose
basically tl;dr she's a piece of shit thanks for coming to my ted talk
favorite relationship:
NONE. she deserves nothing
favorite headcanon:
i like to imagine that she is literally the worst <3

Oneshot
Fluff, Mafia AU
Word Count: 1,980
Yugyeom X Reader
[Mentions: Jinyoung]
Based on All Your Fault [but fluffy], references to Heart’s Magic Man.
It is all your fault that I fell for you. The way you looked at me had me falling faster than pouring rain. Maybe I should have listened to my mother, who told me that falling for a mafia man was a bad idea. “But mom, you fell for a mafia man.” She sighs, “And you see what happened?” I scoff over the phone, “But I know he’s different.” “Come on home, baby. I love you. I would never want anything bad to happen to you. Come home before you are into deep.” I roll my eyes and look at the picture frame that holds a photo of my first date with Kim Yugyeom. “I love you, Mom. I am home here. I’ll be okay.”
It’s date night, a biweekly tradition. Yugyeom comes home with a bright smile and picks me up, and spins me around. I laugh, and he sets me down, “Do you know where you wanna go?” I ask him since it’s his turn. He scrunches up his nose, “Maybe an art museum and then to a fancy restaurant?” I smile, and he goes up and changes into a brown bomber jacket with a cream tee shirt. His jeans remain the same as we pull on our shoes. My mom's voice rings in my head again. 'I would never want anything bad to happen to you.' I shake my head knowing I am most protected when I stand next to Yugyeom. We hop into his Lincoln Continental and head off to a museum.
Heart comes on over the radio that’s playing softly, “Come on home, baby. Momma cried on the phone.” Oh, come on now, isn’t this getting a little too coincidental? We hold hands, our masks concealing our identities as we walk around admiring the artwork. As we finish up the tour, I ask him where to next. He asks if going to a bar was okay, instead of the restaurant idea. I shrug, “It’s your choice tonight, after all.” He smiles, and we hop back into his car.
I should have known he had work-related business at the bar. I felt him tense up the second we walked in. I raised a brow but didn’t say a word as he led me over to the stools. Once I sat down, he suddenly spun around, catching sight of whoever he was after. He pulls out his silver gun and fires away. His glare sends shivers down my spine, and when he turns back towards me, his eyes light back up. He snaps his fingers, and his cohorts come out from the bar. Cleaning up his mess before any cops can show up. I ask him softly, “Why did you do that?” He shrugs, “I’ve been tracking him for a while. Finally caught up to him.” I nod, although it's not a reason in my head. But good enough, I guess. He orders us two monster chocolate milkshakes. “Still my Gyeomie.” He laughs, “Always for you, baby.” He kisses my forehead, and I feel my heart melt a little.
--
Yugyeom’s not home that’s weird he’s usually home by now. I shrug and grab my trash bags and take them towards the dumpster. Telling Dalkyum goodbye, “Don’t worry, I will be right back. I lock the door and make the three-minute trek to the dumpster. When I see someone lying on trash bags outside of the dumpster, I hope they're not dead,... I shake off my nerves and go to throw out my trash. Then, suddenly, I recognize the person lying in the pile of trash. I gasp, dropping the trash bag, the sound ricocheting off the buildings as it hits the pavement. His eyes shoot open, and he reaches for his gun. When he recognizes it’s me, he sighs, and I see the blood covering his face. I get up closer and lay on top of the garbage. “What happened?!” He groans when I notice his stomach is blood red. What if mom was right? Without a second thought, I take off my shirt and rip off a long strip. Lifting his shirt, he hisses. “Fuck that hurts, (Y/n).” I nod, and before I can ask what made the circle-shaped wound. He answers me, “That guy's goons from the other night,... I was walking home to our place, and they broke a beer bottle on the side of the building. I got a swing in before the one stabbed me in the stomach with the bottle.” He doesn’t go into more detail as I wrap it up and put pressure on it.
For some reason, I can’t help but laugh as I realize my mom was right. I almost got to see Yugyeom stabbed to death. If he’s not bleeding out right now, that is. I explain my laughter, “You know, my dad was a King Pin.” He looks over at me with a raised brow, “Really? How did you get out of the mafia life?” I shrug, “My mom ran away as fast as she could after she saw him get stabbed to death. No one knew of my mom since they had just started dating after their one nightstand. And nine months later, my mom had me. She told me everything she knew about him. She didn’t want me to be with you because she watched her lover get stabbed to death. All because he owed some money,... She didn’t want me to lose you the same way.” He laughs as he coughs up blood. “Funny how that works, huh?” I shake my head with tears in my eyes as the reality dawns on me.
He reaches for something in the troves of the bags and hands me a bundle of daisies, “I planned on giving you these when I saw you later tonight.” I sigh heavily, “I love you so much, Gyeom. Please,... please don’t die on me.” He smirks weakly, “I wouldn’t... dr-dream of it.” I place a kiss on his lips and ask, “What do you want me to do?” He shakes his head, “A drag of a cigarette would be nice right now.” I sigh and dig through my pockets. “How did you know I hid them from you?” He makes a face at me, and I sigh, “I didn’t want you to cough up your lungs, you know?” I pull out the pack and a lighter. I take a drag from it first before passing it to Yugyeom.
He sighs deeply and lets out the smoke. “You know, I watched you take them. You’re not that sneaky,... But I promised myself I would try to quit.” I roll my eyes at him, “Yeah?” He nods, “For you, I would give up my own life.” My eyes nearly pop out of my head, “Please don’t risk something that means so much to me.” He pulls the cigarette from his lips, and I wipe the blood from underneath it off. He shakily brings his hand up to my face and pulls me in for a kiss. We pull away, and I look him in his eyes. And he tells me, “I think Jinyoung is coming,...” On cue, I hear the sound of tire screech to a halt. “Goddammit, how did you get yourself into this mess?!” Jinyoung yells sternly. I shake my head, “I honestly couldn’t tell you. I came out to dump some trash at the dumpster, and here he was laying.” Jinyoung sighs, “Help me dump him in the car?” I shrug, and we both lug up the tall man. “Thanks.” Jinyoung rolls his eyes, “Don’t mention it. No, seriously.” A smile creeping up his face, he grabs a sanitizer out of the van. He sprays it over the trash before we throw it all into the overflowing dumpster.
Instead of joining Jinyoung in the front, I go over to sit on the bench seat in the back. I pull the door shut to the side compartment of the van as Jinyoung hits the gas hard. I fly back, “Jinyoung!” I growl, and Yugyeom lets out a laugh and pulls me near him. “The seatbelts don’t work on the bench seat, by the way. The safest place is next to me.” I sigh, “You got that right.” I place the daisies that I kept safe on the bench seat.
Jinyoung patches him up once we arrive at his house, “Now, take good care of this little rascal.” Yugyeom laughs, “You love me, Jinyoung.” He gives Yugyeom a blank look, “Yeah, I just don’t want to see you get hurt.” I grin and thank him, and Jinyoung nods, “Now, go have a date night or whatever you kids do nowadays.” We walk home together. I hold the daisies close to me. He asks if I still have the pack of cigarettes as we pass the dumpster he was bleeding out in front of. I nod and hand them over to him, and he gives me a beautiful smile. He tosses them a bit in his hands before he whips them into the dumpster. “I told you, I’d give them up.” I roll my eyes, “If it relieved your anxiety, you didn’t have to give them up.” He kisses my forehead, “You relieve my anxiety, plus you’ve done more for me than that pack ever did.” I shake my head before I pull him in for a kiss. “You know, you’re the best at doing the worst.” He raises his eyebrow, “You could kill someone and still look flawless. You could get beat the fuck out of, and you still look like a million bucks.” He runs a hand through his hair, “How can you describe a criminal so beautifully?” I bring his hand up to my lips and tell him, “Because the criminal I’m in love with is so much more than his crimes.” As we reach the first step to our apartment, he turns me towards him. “I love you. You’re the light of my life. Thank you for loving and taking care of me.”
I call my mom later that night and tell her what happened, “Oh, honey, are you okay?” I tell her I am, that I’m glad she worried about Yugyeom and me. But that I know, nothing can come in between us now. I’m deeply in love with him, and I don’t think anything could ever change that. I come to sit down next to him on our shared bed. “Wanna say anything to him?”
He smiles and takes the phone from me, and I hear him laugh. He smiles over at me, “Honestly, I don’t think they could ever get me to stop loving them.” He grabs my hand, and we intertwine them together. “I promise, (M/n), nothing could stop me from protecting them. I’ll keep them safe, don’t worry, I’ll hand you back to them.” She tells me she loves me and that to take good care of the lengthy troublesome man. I promise to and tell her goodbye before hanging up and cuddling up to Yugyeom. “You know, it’s only been a year since we have been together but, I’m deeply, madly, in love with you,” I tell him while looking into his eyes. “I find myself falling more and more in love with you than I ever thought possible each day.” He tells me and pecks my cheek. We get under the covers, and he reaches over and turns off the lamp. “Good night.” We say in unison and can’t help but laugh. “Can I be the little spoon tonight?” He asks me softly, “I was hoping you would ask that.” I drape my arms over his torso and bring him into my body. Our legs tangled together comfortably, and I realize there is nowhere I’d rather be than here with him in my arms where the world looks so soft.

~Rainy Day~
(Man I’ve decided to combat baby fever by making some more of this Au. It’s been a while since I’ve written for it anyway so why not! Also you may notice the art I’ve drawn for this kiddo. It’s true his design differs from reader to reader. How he looks skin and hair wise is based entirely off your mind. But for me, I’ve drawn what I think he’d look like if I were Y/N myself.)
Au: Kaishi
Part: Sixteen
Theme: Fluff
Tumblr media
A deep sullen sigh escaped as he sat on his knees and stared at the rain running down the window. He had long since lost his interest in pretending the drops were racing and now he was at the rock bottom of bordem itself. He leaned forward and pressed his chubby cheek against the window along with his ear so he could listen closely to the sound of rain hitting the roof. It could almost soothe him to sleep had it not been for the input from his father on the couch.
“Brat, get your face off the window. Not only are you making it dirty with your dead skin and oils, but you’re also making yourself dirty from the possible germs it holds.” Kai spoke as he flipped the page of the book he was reading. effortlessly. “But I’m boooooooooored!” Kaishi drew out the word with a lengthy groan as his face slid down the window. Kai rolled his eyes and closed the book. “Then go do your homework.” He placed the book down and watched his son slug across the room to sit next to him on the couch. “I already did all of my work for today AND tomorrow too. I even did my bonus work.” Kai sighed and reached into his pocket to pull out a handkerchief. He began rubbing off the side of Kaishi’s face that was on the window as he spoke. “Alright then watch TV, or something. Go play with your toys, read something, or maybe help Pops tidy up the study. There’s a lot of stuff to do so cut out that complaining will you?” The boy grumbled under his breath and crossed his arms in annoyance. “I don’t want to do any of that stuff. I’m way too bored for that junk.”
“Watch it.” Kai thumped his nose.
“Did I hear someone say they were bored?” You spoke as your head popped out from around the corner of the hallway entrance. The picture of both your son and husband’s eyes lighting up when seeing you was something you’d never get over. “What’s ailing you hmmm baby?” You took a seat on the other side of Kaishi and opened your arms for him to scurry into your lap. “I’m so super bored and daddy hasn’t given me any good advice.” You laughed at the way Kai scoffed. “Hmm well, it’s a rainy day huh. Why don’t you go puddle stomping?” Kaishi tilted his head at this, meanwhile Kai was shaking his head rapidly in the background. You smiled and continued explaining to you son while your husband sat in the background with a look of defeat. “Puddle stomping is something I used to do with my mom/dad/guardian when I was a little kid. It’s nothing big or serious but it was still really fun yknow? All you do is find puddles and take the biggest stomps you can! The bigger the stomp, the more fun the splash is! The best part of puddle stomping is when you come back inside from it. You take a warm bath and dry off with warm towels that were put in the clothes dryer. You can then have warm soup or hot chocolate depending on the weather. I always wanted an ice cream Sunday myself.” Kaishi’s wide eyes seemed to sparkle in excitement. He whipped his head around and practically shouted at Kai. “DADDY TAKE ME PUDDLE STOMPING PRETTY PLEASE!!!!!!!!”
“Nope! Absolutely not! The entire act in itself is filthy. Think of all that nasty water that’s out in the streets. Not to mention the mud and dirt. That’s why I never did it myself, and I would’ve preferred if you never knew about the activity.” Kai paused to glare at you while you snickered to yourself. “Y/N, you do it.”
“Me? Well I’d love to but I’m busy today.”
“BS, no you aren’t.”
“Am too. I’ve got to get groceries.”
“Make Chrono do it.”
“Chrono is off today and I don’t want to bother the others. Why don’t you do it, my loving husband?”
“I’ve got paperwork to do.”
“Oh? That same paperwork you told me you finished earlier then?”
“...Well, Pops can do it then.”
“Nope, I’m taking Pops with me because he has a clinic appointment today.”
Kai groaned in defeat and Kaishi hopped off the couch. “Yes!!!” He rushed down the hallway to fetch his new raincoat and boots you got him last week. Once alone, Kai moved to smother you in a too tight hug. “You think you’re slick huh? Oh you’ll pay for this one later, Angel.” You wiggled out of his grasp and planted a kiss on his cheek, admiring the small pink that began dusting his cheeks. “Oh I’m so scared, oooo oh no!” You exaggerated before heading off to find Pops with a laugh. As you went down the hall, Kaishi came out of it wearing his rainy day attire. “Okay I’m ready!” Kai sighed and pulled his fluffy hood over his head. “You get 20 minutes of this madness and then it’s straight to the bathroom to clean yourself up, got it?” Kai ordered as he grabbed his large black umbrella. He passed a small blue umbrella with white polka dots and a red hook handle to Kaishi. “Thank you daddy!” The boy held the umbrella close, nearly shivering from excitement. “One more thing.” Kai paused with his hand on the door knob. “You stay close by y side out here. I don’t want you taking off running and getting hurt, okay?” Kaishi nodded in agreement and watched excitedly as his dad opened the doorway and ushered for him to leave. “The boy walked outside to the front, popped open his umbrella and waited until Kai followed along with it. “There, number one! It’s really big!” Kaishi pointed at a large puddle in the grass by the end of the driveway gate. “Go on then. I’ll stay back a bit so I don’t get subjected to this madness.” Kai watched his son rush to the puddle and basically leap into it. The cute giggling almost made up for the fact he was outside in the rain right now. He sighed and followed behind Kaishi as they exited the yard and walked down the sidewalk of their neighborhood. Kaishi took a break from the puddles to slow down and walk alongside his father and enjoy the rain for a bit. “Daddy, why come you never did puddle splashing as a kid?” Kaishi asked with curiosity. “It’s puddle stomping, brat. And the reason is the same as I said earlier: it’s disgusting.” Kai sighed and looked over at the flower bushes that grew alongside the fence line this way. It brought back a few memories of when Pops would walk him home with an umbrella after his school fights. “Daddy, you really hate germs huh.”
“Absolutely.”
“Well then what did you do for fun during a rainy day?”
“Shogi. I’d play it with Pops a lot. It’s why I’m so good at it right now. No one can beat me. Not even the old man himself.”
“Will you teach me to play Shogi one day?”
“Kai thought to himself for a second before smiling and putting his free hand on the top of Kaishi’s hooded head. “I suppose. If it’ll please you then I will.” Kaishi smiled widely and leaned onto his fathers touch before gasping and pointing ahead of himself again. “Big one spotted ahead!!!!” He rushed and jumped into the puddle repeatedly, unknowing to the fact that his father had slipped out the cell phone.
Tumblr media
He smiled to himself and slipped his phone in his pocket. “Alright that’s enough. It’s been well past 20 minutes so let’s pack it up and get inside.” He directed before turning to walk away. He smiled to himself under his mask at the sound of pattering rain boots squeaking to catch up to him. Once inside, both boys hung their wet jackets up at the doorway hook and placed the umbrellas in the holder. Kaishi went to his room to pick out pajamas while Kai went to run some warm bath water. He looked up at the picture on the wall and stared at it for a bit while the water trickled from the bath spout. The picture was a baby photo of Kaishi wearing an oversized bath towel and smiling widely. Kai suddenly felt a lot less annoyed with today and a ton more thankful with the memories he was able to make. Kids grow up so fast, right?
While Kaishi was taking a bath, Kai was preparing two cups of Sundays. How could he honestly resist joining in on the sweet icy treat? “Hope you’re making one for me too?” Your voice suddenly appeared as you entered from running errands with Pops. “Done already? It hasn’t even been all that long. How did you get everything done so soon?” Kai questioned as you pulled out a spare cup for your ice cream Sunday. “I never said how many groceries I needed to get. I only said that I needed to shop.” You winked at him and he rolled his eyes. “Of course you’d trick me.” Kai scoffed before filling your glass with ice cream first. “You’re home!!!” Kaishi shouted as he rushed up to sit in your lap and hug your neck. “And daddy is making the ice cream thingy too?! This is the best rainy day ever! Thank you daddy!!!” Kai smiled beneath his mask at his little family. You guys always brought out the fluff in this man.
“Go ahead and make room for me too. I’d love a Sunday.” Pops smiled as he entered the kitchen as well.

The Accidental Family - Chapter 4
Henry Cavill x OFC - multi-chapter
< Chap 3 | Chap 4 The First Date night | Chap 5 >
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: fluff, mild smuttiness, some strong language
Word count: 2.303
Author’s note: I had so much food the past couple of days 😂So yea, despite the Christmas days having been weird at best, me and my bf had quite a bit of fun - and a whole lot of romantic dinners to kill the time. And ..now we’re talking romantic dinners..
(Link to my Masterlist)
--
‘Black or purple, what do you think?’ Henry held up the two ties before Kal, the dog tilting his head left and right, as if deciding which one was better. The answer was apparently quite simple according to Henry’s dog; with an excited huff the Akita jumped right up in Henry’s face, licking him all over.
‘Yea, yea, hahahah - that’s the goal. Hahahah. You got me there. So..no tie, then?’ He pushed the dog back down and ruffled him through his thick fur. Kal borked softly and Henry agreed. ‘Very well, a little less formal is probably better, you’re right. We’re having a date at home, anyways.’
Henry breathed in deeply and looked in the direction of the kitchen, his stew simmering on a low fire as he heard Phoebe rummage upstairs, some closet cabinets opening and closing in a mildly hasty manner.
With Henry still in full recovery, it was decided that it would be best to just stick to a cute home dinner for their first dinner date since his memory loss - just to avoid any overzealous fans that would disturb him in a restaurant after the news had been released that he had suffered a serious head injury in a motorcycle accident.
The accident had left many scars. Both physical and mental. It was weird to be here at home now more people lived here, the kids on a prolonged stay with the grandparents while Henry and his wife recuperated from the shake-up his - their - life had had.
In the past days Henry had seen about every specialist and doctor in the book. He went from lengthy couch sessions with a psychologist - the story of the introduction of his kids having been received with mild horror - to the keeping of sleep and medication schedules with his doctor to make sure he got enough recovery and rest in between re-learning the basics of his new life.
The fact that a good many people surviving such head trauma would never be the same, troubled Henry greatly, and so whenever he was allowed to search the internet, which was sparingly, he scoured it like a starved man, the printer in the living room doing over-time to print all the articles and research he had found.
But, all that research would have to wait for the moment. First he’d have to get reacquainted with another part of his life: his wife. And even now as he heard her rummage around the master bedroom, he couldn’t help but feel his heart flutter with nerves.
What if she didn’t like the new Henry? What if he couldn’t fall in love with her. Or the sex would be awful, or..
NO! Stop those thoughts.
Looking back in the hallway mirror, he unbuttoned his blouse a little further, a little peek of chest hair popping out over the sleek white fabric.
‘Button up or down?’ Henry looked over at Kal, but the dog thought his human dad was being ridiculous, his body turning around to trod back to the kitchen to slobber up some water.
‘..Very well then.’
--
It was near surprising how easy dinner went by. Which of course, shouldn’t be too much of a surprise; Henry and Phoebe had several dinners at home before this one, though they never had been quite so romantic. Henry had turned the lights down low and lit some candles, the kitchen radio playing some soft jazzy music playing in the background.
With dinner over and the dirty plates returned to the dishwasher - the dance of moving around the kitchen together now quite well practised, they ended up on the couch, the both of them sipping on some tea, since it was strongly advised not to consume alcohol after Henry’s brain injury.
‘So...’ Henry finished the last sip of his tea and placed it on the side table next to his right elbow, his blue eyes searching for his wife’s slightly dazed expression - she did have a wine or two with his stew.
‘Hmm?’
‘Are you falling asleep on me, wife?’
‘Hahaha you wish.’
‘I do wish.’
‘Oh stop it!’ Her cheeks burned a bright pink, making Henry chuckle - at least he still got some of his charms.
‘I WAS actually wondering about what you mentioned earlier. When I asked you on this date..remember?’
‘Yea…’ She lifted her legs and crossed them, snuggling herself more comfortable in her nook on the couch, lips blowing over her slowly cooling tea.
‘What did you mean by “we never really dated”?’ Henry quoted the last words with his fingers.
‘Oh!’ She quickly looked away, her hands deciding it was best to put her tea away on the side table on her side of the couch. ‘Yea….’ She looked back at Henry. ‘That’s a funny story..’
‘Mmm?’
‘Okay, okay. So, I’m just curious. How do you think we met?’ Her eyebrows rose in expectation, her body fully turning towards him, legs still crossed before her chest. Henry also turned slightly, his arm stretching out over the back of the couch, his fingertips just about able to reach her knees.
‘Hmm. I’ve actually thought about that. Though of course I don’t know. But ehh..’ He squinted his eyes a little, as if playfully wanting to guess. ‘I think I met you on set.’
‘How’s that?’
‘I don’t know. Just a feeling.’
‘Well. It’s not. Try again.’
‘Okay..Ehm, then I totally met you at the grocery store and hit on you so hard that you thought I was some weird creep?’
She laughed. ‘That has happened. Not with you though.’
‘Shame.’
Phoebe laughed and shook her head. ‘Dork.’
‘OH! A comic book store?! A Comic Con? A..’
‘No, and.. no.’
‘Alright, I don’t know. Spill the beans, wife-dear.’
She shot him an exasperated look, before clicking her tongue. ‘We shagged at an after party.’
Henry’s face blanked. ‘I’m sorry, say that again: AT an after party?’
‘Yea..we definitely did it AT the after party.’
‘Was I drunk?’
Phoebe laughed. ‘Shit Henry. Of course we were. We both were. I wouldn’t for the life of me shag anyone on any party, but there we were, fumbling hands and tearing expensive dress shirts in a toilet stall.’
Henry’s eyes widened at her words.
‘Yea..classy, right? And you left me a little present too.’
‘We’re not talking about just a phone number here, huh?’
‘Nope. You knocked me up with our ray of sunshine, Sam. Funny thing was that I lost my phone that night, and with it your number. I then contacted your assistant, Aunt Lea, whom TOTALLY didn’t believe you’d do anything of the sort, so it took me a good three months to get in contact with you.’
‘Holy crap.’
Phoebe sighed deeply and turned away again, as if wishing to shut out Henry from her thoughts. ‘Yea, it’s been a wild ride.’
‘Wait.’ Henry pushed himself a little closer so he could brush a hand over her shoulder, his eyes searching the curve of her nose and the pull of her lips. ‘Do you regret it? It’s okay if you do. I mean, we’re all out, bums out - besides I can’t remember a thing of the things you just said.’
Phoebe shook her head. ‘No.’ She finally looked back up at Henry, her eyes a lot more warm and welcoming than he had expected. ‘I was already smitten with you before I rang this doorbell to give you the happy news you were about to become a dad...and I’d have kept sweetheart Sam either way the wind would have blown.’
‘Sam..Fixing his dad and all.’ Henry smiled.
‘Gods.’ Phoebe chuckled. ‘That was bad.’
‘Kinda. I’ll need some help with managing that rowdy bunch.’ Henry sighed, feeling Phoebe’s hand reaching out to brush through his curls again - he liked it.
‘I had a good night.’ She said.
Henry looked at her and instantly felt his heart flutter, his stomach dropping and palms going sweaty. It was quite obvious that IF he wanted to make a move, he’d have to do it now. And so, with perhaps a bit too awkward a hastiness, he scooted closer to Phoebe, his black burning eyes staring down into her expecting dark blues.
‘I liked it too. I like YOU..too.’ He breathed, making her eyes also grow darker by the second.
‘Good,’ She whispered, switching her focus between his left and right eye, noses slowly crawling closer to one another until their lips were but a breath away from touching.
‘Can I kiss y..-?’
His words lingered somewhere in between the crashing of their two bodies, Phoebe’s arms eagerly pulling him towards her, her lips savouring the taste of mint tea and musk on his tongue. And as eagerly as they started, so eagerly it to-tal-ly escalated. In moments Henry had flipped her flat onto the couch, his hands scorching the skin on her neck and chest, fingertips teasing and touching whatever piece of flesh her simple black dress revealed.
‘FUCK.’ She whined, turning her head to offer him more neck for him to bite down into.
Henry growled and lowered his hip, making her feel the eagerness he felt in the tightness of his dress pants, the fabric strained around his crotch.
‘Oh gods,’ Her breath hiccuped and were it not for Henry’s attentiveness, he wouldn’t have picked up on the tears that had started to spill from her eyes, his body immediately pushing back up before he wiped the stray hairs in her face away, worried eyes studying her trembling lips and blurry gaze.
‘I-I’m so sorry.’ She mumbled, turning her head into the couch pillow, wishing to hide from his penetrative gaze.
‘No, no. It’s okay. Sshhh.’ He sat up on his haunches and pulled her with ease onto his lap, his chin pressing down onto her head as she cried into the open V of his shirt, his chest hair wetting with her agony - yep he kept it buttoned down. ‘Sshhh.’ He hushed, pressing more and more kisses into her golden hair. ‘I’ve got you.’
‘I’ve missed you so much.’ She whimpered, and it was in that moment Henry hated himself for the way his erection twitched beneath the plush of her thighs, his mind having to focus on anything but her scent and warmth - and failed. Henry failed miserably, Bee’s head starting to shake “no” as she pushed herself off his lap.
‘Fwooo…’ She breathed, focusing on slowing her breath before she looked back at Henry with watery eyes, their bodies separated by the magic of opposing magnetic energy; if Henry tried to come closer, she leaned back and vice versa.
‘Maybe we should give THAT a little more time.’ She chuckled through her tears, the back of her hand wiping away the smudge of mascara that was running down her cheek.
‘I’m sorry about that.’ Henry muttered, feeling like he had failed completely, though thankfully Phoebe could only see the hilarity of it:
‘Guess nothing much has changed in that department.’ She sighed and turned her body back towards him. ‘Is it okay if we sleep apart for a little bit? Just to..-’
‘Calm down?’
‘Yea.’ Her lips curled in a smile.
‘I’m not really used to sleeping with women on the first date anyways.’
Phoebe laughed, poking him in the bicep. ‘OH PLEASE, don’t tell me I was the only one you ever..’
Henry laughed along and shrugged with boyish innocence: ‘Can’t remember, but from what I know, I ...never..’
‘Will you go on another date with me though?’
Henry let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. He was pleased with her gentle plea, his hand catching hers to press a sweet and tender promise of a kiss onto the back of her hand. ‘Absolutely.’
--
That night Henry found himself bunking up with a bed full of stuffies, the bed of his 4-year old the only one he could somewhat fit into.
Turning towards the stuffies, he remembered the notes his wife had given him in the past days: Sam had a stuffy named Mr. Stinky, which he had left behind to watch over his other friends while he was away.
Henry studied the line up of rabbits, elephants, bears and foxes. Which one was Stinky anyways? His wife had said it in between a avalanche of other information, so Henry hadn’t quite managed to catch on like he so wished.
‘Oh..There’s a LOT to learn huh..Mr Stinky? Or ..were you Mr Stinky?’ He looked from stuffy to stuffy, the large beady eyes looking back at him in silence. With a slight smirk on his face Henry pushed his nose into their fluffy bellies, inhaling deeply to find out which one would be Mr. Stinky. But, apparently it was just a name; they all smelled fine.
Rolling onto his back, he switched off the Mario mushroom shaped night light, the ceiling above glowing up with a hundred small stars that had been put up to keep the nightmares at bay.
‘Woa..’ He breathed, feeling his heart flip at the idea that everything about this was real. He had kids. He had..a wife. A family life. And now all he needed to learn was how to fit into his new role. This new ..Henry. And, for the fuck of sakes: if he wasn’t going to jerk off soon, he’d jump his wife before the night was through. It was quite clear how they had never made it to a first date; she simply made his heart and loin ache in a way he had never quite felt before.
Sighing deeply he looked back at the dark row of judgmental beady eyes next to him. He chuckled.
‘Yea...let’s not do that here.’

Sleep on the Floor
AN: I’ve thought about this concept on and off for a while now, and finally decided to write it down. Alexander and a rather unfriendly acquaintance cross paths again at a music festival, and end up handcuffed together for the day. Under the cut because it’s lengthy 💖
tw: nothing but fluff, friends.
As always, feedback is encouraged and appreciated.
Tumblr media
It was the bright glare of the sunlight glinting off the metal object in the back pocket of her best friend’s denim shorts that initially caught Daisy’s attention. After an hour of scouring multiple maps of Montreal’s many metro lines- (“Well do we need to take the orange line or the green one?” and “Can’t you just google maps it?” and perhaps Daisy’s personal favourite- “We should have just spent the sixty dollars on an uber.”) The trio of friends had finally made it to Parc Jean-Drapeau, where the three-day Osheaga music festival was being held. “Bea, what’ve you got in your pocket there?” Daisy reached toward her without an answer or invitation, and produced a pair of weighted, silver handcuffs.
Bea lunged for the cuffs back, a smirk in place on her features.
“What on earth could you possibly need handcuffs for at a music festival?” Daisy asked, eyebrows raised in genuine confusion.
Returning the cuffs to her pocket, Bea shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly, the smirk from moment’s ago still tugged the edge of her lip upward. “It’s been my experience that you just never know when you’ll need ‘em. Be good Daze, or I’ll use them on you.” And Daisy supposed that after a couple of choice alcoholic beverages that could start to sound like one hell of a fun proposition.
“I literally don’t see him anywhere Bea,” Hannah sighed heavily.
Daisy glanced at Bea’s better half; a hand shielded her gaze from the onslaught of the sun’s rays as she stood on tiptoes to scan the expansive park around her. “Who are you looking for?”
Hannah dropped back onto the balls of her feet; her bottom lip wedged between her teeth like she was anxious about something. “Did Bea not tell you?” She peered over at her girlfriend, expectantly. “Did you not tell her?”
Bea rolled her hazel eyes and murmured “shit.”
Daisy’s vision narrowed. “What’s going on?”
Hannah squinted over at Daisy, kicking aside a stray pebble with the toe of her pink platform sneaker. “We uh… We invited Alex and some of his friends to join us for the weekend.”
Her mouth suddenly devoid of all moisture, Daisy wished that she had a bottle of beer in her hand, or some other ice-cold alcoholic beverage to distract her from the heat rising steadily to her cheeks. Tongue thick in her throat, she turned to her friends. “You invited Alex Skarsgård to our Osheaga weekend?” Shifting from side to side uncomfortably, Bea eventually nodded her head in the affirmative. Daisy took a deep breath. “I just think that might have been good information to know before now.”
“You wouldn’t have come…” Hannah interjected.
A humorless laugh bubbled up from the base of Daisy's throat. “You’re probably right.” Hives of people from all over the country milled about the green hillsides, a myriad of accents and languages- mostly French, echoed throughout the vast park. Daisy raised her face to the heavens, reveling in the feeling of the late July sun on her skin and sighed heavily.
“What is it about him?” Bea asked quietly.
Daisy's eyes fell shut. “Where would I even begin?”
“Alright, here they come.” Hannah murmured.
Bea offered her dearest friend a sympathetic look but knew better than to touch her just then. “He wants to make it up to you, Daze.”
Daisy swallowed hard and followed Hannah’s gaze to the quartet of men currently striding towards them. He bore a striking resemblance to the man she had known a year ago, though his dark blonde hair was longer now, and stubble shadowed the underside of his chiseled jaw. Clad in a pair of dark jeans, a grey t shirt and a pair of black converse high-tops, a round pair of yellow tortoise-shell sunglasses sat perched atop his head. “I don’t need him to,” Daisy murmured. “Just try and help me keep my distance from him today, alright?”
Bea was apprehensive, but nodded her head in agreement. “Alright.”
“Good afternoon ladies!” Alexander exclaimed jubilantly once he had caught up to them. He greeted both Hannah and Bea with bear hugs like he’d known them his whole life, and not a mere couple of years. When he got to Daisy, she was surprised to see that his grin hadn’t faltered at all. “Hello Daisy. It’s nice to see you again.”
She offered him a wilted smile. “Hi, Alex.”
He faltered a beat before turning to the three men next to him. Daisy knew by the sight of them that they had to be related to Alexander in some way, each one a wide-eyed and giraffe-like carbon copy of the other. “Ladies, this here is my good pal Oskar, my kid brother Valter, and my other brother Bill.”
And God said, “Let there be Skarsgård’s,” and there were Skarsgårds.
Bea cleared her throat. “Alright, gang. Shall we check out the rest of the park? Find a watering hole?”
Alexander held out an arm before him. “Lead the way, friend.”
“How long are you guys here for?” Hannah asked as they made their way into a beer tent on the platinum grounds.
“Just for the weekend. Then I'm back to New York for a couple of meetings and then uh… these guys and I,” He winked at the three men next to him. “Are supposed to be in Stockholm for a wedding next week.” Alexander reached into his back pocket for his wallet and approached the bartender behind the counter. “Hey there. How are you?”
"Fantastic." A miniscule fan in the corner of the tent did little to blow any actual cool air around, and a slick sheen of perspiration bloomed over her neck and forehead.
“You must be pumped to be able to hear all the music from here!” Bill beamed at her.
She smacked the wad of pink bubblegum in her mouth, her expression deadpan. “Absolutely ecstatic.”
Valter cleared his throat to keep from laughing.
“Alright then. Uh,” Alexander squinted at the black chalkboard drink menu above him. “What have you got in the way of alcohol for shots?”
“Vodka. Gin. Tequila.”
He turned to the group, gaze expectant. “What are we all in the mood for?”
“Vodka!” Had been the resounding answer, and Daisy didn’t think she’d ever been more ready to shoot straight liquor in her entire life. The alcohol was rough, and it stoked the fire already roaring in the pit of her belly, causing beads of sweat to bloom on her forehead. They milled about for another fifteen minutes, and Daisy was awed by how much alcohol the seven of them had been able to consume in such a short amount of time. Some drinks came in the form of grotesque shooters- “We drink these all the time back home!”, others had taken the shape of ice-cold beers beneath the salvation of another tent. It occurred to her that the breakfast she had consumed a couple of hours ago was insufficient for the poison now in her system, and that down the line, it might pose a bit of a problem. For now, Daisy was simply content to sip whatever she was given, and to enjoy the first full day of her vacation.
Their first set of the weekend was the Foo Fighters- and by some stretch of a miracle, the festival gods had blessed her with a spot in the crowd that made for a fantastic vantage point of the stage. She was naive to assume that it would happen again, so she watched Dave Grohl dominate the crowd in unbridled awe, and without a care in the world. And when they played My Hero- she joined along with the sea of people around her and sang her heart out to every single word.
After the set ended, the seven of them managed to touch base again beneath a patch of glorious shade. “It’s come to my attention that you and I have some unfinished business, Daisy.” Alexander had to yell to be heard above the roar of the white noise around them.
Even surrounded by hundreds of strangers, Daisy felt inexplicably naked beneath his gaze and she shifted uncomfortably on the spot. “You don’t owe me anything, Alex.”
“I owe you an apology, Daisy.”
A sigh exited her mouth in the form of a puff of air, and she eyed the people walking past her with mild contempt. “Just for one day, just one, I want to know what it feels like to be tall at a concert.”
“I know how you feel, Daze.” Hannah fanned a hand in front of her face in a useless attempt to keep the sweltering heat at bay.
Valter laughed and traded sheepish expressions with Bill. “Unfortunately, we don’t.”
Alexander clicked his tongue and glanced down at her, azure eyes glittering mischievously. “View from down there not so great, huh?”
His tone brimmed with mirth and Daisy’s skin prickled under the heat of it; the urge to smack the smirk from his face was all-consuming. She stared up at him, pointedly. “As someone who probably shares- at least most- of their genetic makeup with that of the Brachiosaurus, I wouldn’t expect you to understand what it’s like.”
His guffaw was loud and booming, and it caused Daisy’s heightened blood pressure to soar beneath the scorching Montreal weather. “Yeah, well, every woman in your maternal bloodline for the past one hundred years was probably four foot eleven, tops. You take what you’re given, kid.” Silence hung between them and Daisy shot Bea a look that simply said, ‘you did this to me, and eventually you will pay for it’. Alexander cleared his throat, oblivious to the mounting tension. “Look, if you want I can hoist you onto my shoulders for the next set and then you’ll know exactly what it’s like to be tall at a concert.”
Daisy took a deep sip of her beer, her defiant gaze trained on something unseen before her. “Your concern for my experience here is heartwarming, really it is, but believe me when I say that I’d rather suffer down here.”
Alexander shrugged and shook his head in mild amusement. “Suit yourself then, half-pint.” Venomous words threatened to erupt from her throat, but they stayed lodged where they were, because just then and with the expertise of someone who was inexplicably well-versed in the act, Bea had managed to clasp a silver handcuff around Daisy’s left wrist. She stared at it in alcohol-induced amusement, and suddenly everyone around them was laughing. She lifted her arm to try and shake her wrist out of it, but a heavy weight dropped it back down to her side, and the realization that the other half of her cuff was bound to Alexander’s right wrist, was sudden and all-consuming. She swallowed hard.
“While admittedly funny for the first few milliseconds, I’m going to have to insist that you unlock us now.”
Bea levelled her honeyed gaze with Daisy’s and smiled sweetly. “Relax Daze. You’ll be free of each other by nightfall.”
All Alexander could do was howl. “Nightfall? Good luck-" He managed in between fits of laughter. “Getting the kid to last half an hour!” When his laughter had subsided, he cleared his throat and glanced down at Bea, his blue gaze twinkled roguishly. “C’mon Bea. Let us out, hm?”
Bea shook her head and patted the miniscule outline of the key in her pocket. “Last set of the day. Nightfall. I promise.”
There had been protests from both sides, but for as strong-willed as Daisy knew her best friend to be, she also knew that she wasn’t in the business of giving in easily and the pair of them gave up trying while they were ahead. While mind-numbingly irritating for the first few hours, the all-consuming heat eventually zapped Daisy of her ability to care about anything except for cold drinks and air conditioning, and she supposed, begrudgingly, that there were worse people to be chained to for a day. It was only after their lunch of tacos and beer from a local food truck- Daisy and Alexander sat atop a bed of grass, knee-to-knee, that they realized they had managed to get split up from the rest of the crew. But if either of them had been worried about it, they didn’t let it show. “Who are you most excited to see play here?” Daisy asked for no reason, other than she could think of nothing else to say.
Alexander tipped the neck of the beer bottle to his lips with his free hand and took a hearty gulp. “Who am I most excited to see? Who are you most excited to see?”
She rolled her eyes. “You can’t answer a question with a question. Besides, I asked you first.”
He pursed his lips together as if he were thinking hard about it. “The person I am most excited to see, have been waiting all year for… has to be Cardi B.”
She stared at him, deadpan. “You’re kidding.”
“Actually, I’m not. I’d tell you to confirm with Valter but he is, very conveniently, missing in action.”
Daisy laughed suddenly, and it was a laughter that came in waves and spurred on his own, each of them nearly doubled over as they gave in to their fits. “Gonna to do the WAP?” She breathed out when she could manage it, wiping away traces of saltwater with the pad of her thumb.
Alexander feigned solemnity. “Listen, I would do the WAP dance right this very minute if it weren’t for these cuffs.”
“I believe you.” She giggled.
"I'm glad." His face broke into a beam that put sunshine to shame. Draining the rest of the bottle, he set it back onto the grass and cocked his head to the side. “And you? Who are you most excited to see?”
Daisy stared up at him, the answer had been ready on the tip of her tongue, but something in his eyes stopped her dead in her tracks. “You have the loveliest flecks of gold in your eyes, did you know that?”
Alexander’s gaze fell to the grass beneath him, his smile painfully shy. “Let’s find us some more beer then, hey? Up on three.”
“Good plan. But we have an issue to resolve first,” Daisy murmured.
Alexander faltered; his head cocked to the side in question. “You mean- apart from the one where we are currently joined at the hip until Bea decides to take mercy on us?”
Daisy nodded. “Right. Besides that one. I have to pee… really bad.” He opened his mouth to say something, but a chuckle roared from the base of his throat instead, and Daisy swore it was like hearing laughter for the very first time. There was an infectious joy to it that made her want to make him laugh like that for that for the rest of her days.
“Alright. Let’s find you a washroom.”
It hadn’t been a difficult venture; platinum tickets holders benefited from the use of private on-site washrooms, and it occurred to Daisy that the astronomical price for the ticket was worth it, solely based on that luxury itself. “I’m sorry that this a thing you are being privy to.” Daisy muttered as they squeezed into a stall together.
He shrugged his shoulders. “Oh, I’ve been privy to worse things, kid. I’ll turn away.”
As Daisy hiked her sundress up her frame and squatted above the toilet, she reminded herself that revenge was a dish best served cold, and that one way or another, Bea would pay.
Alexander and Daisy’s afternoon continued in the same fashion; they attended whatever sets piqued their interests, lost track of how many people commented on their unusual predicament, and satiated their parched throats with lots of cold alcoholic beverages. Finally, the golden sun began to sink low over the Montreal skyline, and the temperature drop that came with it was a welcome reprieve to the day's stifling heat. They found themselves amidst a healthy crowd of people, all breathless and ready for one of the final sets of the evening. As she waited for the band to take the stage, Daisy suddenly felt exhausted beyond all measure, but also satisfied in a way that she hadn't been accustomed to in years. She could pin it on the alcohol, or the heat, or that she had finally allowed herself a couple of days off to do whatever she pleased. Deep down, she knew it had nearly everything to do with her current company.
“Where did you go just now?” Alexander asked.
Daisy glanced up at him, confused. “What do you mean? I’m right here.”
He seemed unconvinced. “You were a million miles away.”
A shiver wracked her body that had nothing to do with the current weather, and she gestured to the stage. “The Lumineers. These are the guys I'm most excited to see.”
Alexander beamed down at her. “Well then how lucky am I that I get to see them with you.”
Two men entered the stage just then, one stepped up to the microphone, and the other took a seat behind a drum set. Daisy didn’t realize she had been holding her breath until the opening beats of Sleep on the Floor rang out into the humid air before her. A cacophony of cheers erupted from the concertgoers around them, and goosebumps bloomed in patterns over her arms when the bearded man began to sing.
Pack yourself a toothbrush dear
Pack yourself a favorite blouse
Take a withdrawal slip
Take all of your savings out
‘Cause if we don’t ever leave this town
We might never make it out
I was not born to drown
Baby come on
~
“The key is gone.”
The day’s final concert had done Daisy in, and she was inexplicably tired now; her legs heavy like lead, eyelids threatening to shut on their own at any second.
“What do you mean the key is gone, Bea?” She heard Alexander ask. His voice was level, but there was an underlying tinge of frustration to it that made Daisy’s stomach sink.
“It’s… it’s gone. I had it in my pocket earlier and now it’s gone.”
Daisy yawned wide, the urge to lay down on the patch of grass beneath her was almost too tempting to bear. “I’m tired, Alex.”
“I know, kid.” He pressed a quick kiss to the top of her head. “Where did you last have it?”
Bea tugged the edge of her lip into her mouth and shrugged her shoulders, helplessly. “I last had it in my pocket.” Dozens of people pushed past the group on their way out of the park; on their way home to waiting bathtubs and beds and Daisy was unbelievably envious of them.
“Alright. This is what we’re going to do,” He sighed. “The four of us are going to get into a cab, we’re going to head back to the hotel, and Daisy and I will meet up with you guys right here tomorrow morning. If the key still hasn’t turned up, we’ll have to figure something else out.”
“I’m really sorry about this, guys.” Bea muttered lowly.
You absolutely should be, Daisy thought.
Hannah cleared her throat, her arms crossed tight across her chest. “Are you alright with this Daze?”
She nodded, wordlessly.
Their uber ride back to the hotel only spanned the entirety of fifteen minutes, but it seemed like a lifetime to Daisy. She drifted off on Alexander’s shoulder to the lulling sound of muted Swedish between the three men, and when she was gently tapped awake by Alexander, the car was parked outside of the Four Seasons. “Come on, kid. Let’s get you into bed, hm?”
“This is fancy…” She murmured, as she slid out of the open car door and into the humid evening air.
Valter laughed heartily. “Just wait til you see where you’re staying, Daisy.”
The boys bid themselves goodnight, with Alexander slinging his free arm around each of their shoulders in a half-embrace. He waited until he knew Bill and Valter had made it into their elevator safely, and then led Daisy to a discreet elevator off the lobby, which they rode to the top floor wordlessly. She wasn’t sure what she had expected when the doors opened, but her breath hitched in her throat as she drank in the room in which Alexander was calling home for the next three days. “This is-
“A lot, I know.” He murmured. They wandered past the single king bed, into the next room, whose expansive bay windows offered a breathtaking view of Montreal’s twinkling downtown lights. Daisy gazed down at their entwined wrists, at the small metal chain that bound them together, and marveled at how a mere twelve hours had the power to change everything. “Daisy, I’m sorry.” Alexander spoke above a whisper now. “I’m sorry for leaving you behind last year.”
She took a deep breath, the words thick at the back of her throat. “I never should have put you in a position where you felt that you had to choose between your career, and me.”
Alexander’s fingers found hers, and he squeezed them thrice. “You waltzed into my life when I least expected it, Daisy,” An incredulous sigh pushed past his lips and he shook his head. “A breathtaking hurricane of a woman. I made the decision to ask you to dinner, I should have showed up.”
She smiled tiredly. “You showed up today, Alex.”
He leaned towards her, pressing his lips to her temple, and his laughter rumbled through her and warmed her in ways sunshine never could. “And look where we are now.”
She gazed up at him, at the deepened creases next to his eyes, and the subtle flecks of gold among a sea of blue, and in that moment, she hardly cared if they ever found the key at all. There was an effortlessness to that truth that felt akin to breathing. “Nowhere else I’d rather be, Alex.”
When Daisy's eyes opened in the morning, the weight of Alexander's impossibly warm arm hung snug around her clothed stomach, the cool metal of his cuff a stark contrast to her warm inner arm. The Montreal sunlight pouring in through their bay window glinted off a miniscule key-shaped object on the rug a few feet away from where they lay, and a small smile tugged her lips skyward.

Can I ask for tfa bee meeting idw bee please
"C'mon, why don't we go for a bit of racing, huh? If you're really me from another dimension, I know you'll like that."
Bumblebee rose an optic ridge at his counterpart. "Didn't Optimus say those are illegal? And dangerous?"
"Pssh, Optimus says all kinds of things. I've been there dozens of times and I've never once gotten hurt."
Bumblebee let out an ex vent. It was already past midnight and he wanted to get a good night of rest so he could focus on finding a way back home in the morning. If he didn't get back to Cybertron soon, no doubt Starscream would find a way to undermine him and still his post...
"I'm sorry Bee, but I really can't. Why don't you ask Bulkhead to go with you? You guys seem close."
"Bulkhead?! You must be joking," Bumblebee said. "Look, I love the guy like a brother but he couldn't win a race if his life depended on it."
"Well, I need to get some recharge for tomorrow. Maybe some other time."
Bumblebee let out an exaggerated sigh. "Fine, I get it. You're like, the president of Cybertron or whatever back home and you think this whole thing is stupid. It's okay, everyone else does too, I should be used to it by now."
Bumblebee cursed to himself. He should know better than to fall for such cheap tricks by now, and yet...
"Okay, fine. I'll go with you."
His counterpart's optics lit up. "You mean it?!"
"Just this once," he emphasized. "Mostly because I'm hoping to get back home as soon as I can."
Bumblebee grinned. "This is going to be the most fun you've ever had in your life, just you wait!"
***
Bumblebee decided this was the most stressful night of his life.
Okay, maybe not the most stressful, he's had some doozies over the millennia. But this was definitely up there.
"Ow! Hey, watch it!" Bumblebee hissed as the black Ferrari beside him pushed him out of the way. While he wasn't able to see it, he could feel the giant scratch on his side.
"Sorry kid, you're playing with the big boys now," the driver on the other side of him mocked. His hair was blond and slicked back, and his eyes a dull green. He smirked in Bumblebee's direction. "If you can't handle it, then get out of the way." The man then pressed on the gas, zooming in front of the little yellow car.
"C'mon Bee! Are you just gonna take that?" His counterpart drove up beside him. "We gotta beat him for sure now, to show him who's boss."
"This was a terrible idea, I can't believe I let you talk me into this," Bumblebee groaned.
"It's not that bad, that guy's just a jerk. Now come on, I know you can do it."
"Bumblebee. I'm tired, and I want to go back home before I get my bumper knocked off."
"What?! You can't quit in the middle of a race!" his counterpart exclaimed. "We've only got a few blocks left, then we can go home. I promise."
Bumblebee sighed. "Fine."
"Great! Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a race to win."
With that, his counterpart shot off in front of him, whooping all the way.
Shaking his head, Bumblebee transformed back to his root mode and checked his side where he was hit. There was a surface level scratch and a bit of spilled energon, but luckily nothing he'd need Ratchet for. That didn't stop it from hurting like hell though.
He stopped when he saw the black car who had scratched him crash into his counterpart up ahead, running him off the road.
"Ahhhh!" Bumblebee cried as collided with the metal railing.
He heard the driver laughing as he drove off. "Maybe you should get a sturdier car next time. That little bug off yours can't take a hit."
"Bumblebee!" Bumblebee cried out. He rushed over towards his counterpart. "Are you alright?"
His counterpart transformed back into his root mode, and coughed up some energon. "I'll live," he gave him a weak smile. "But now that asshole is going to win."
"Maybe not," Bumblebee smirked. He transformed back, and looked at his counterpart. "Can you move on your own?"
"Yeah."
"Then I'll meet you at the finish line."
***
Bumblebee didn't think he had ever driven so fast in his life.
A small part of his processor forced him to keep a look out for pedestrians and other drivers, but the bigger, much louder part was filled with an unbridled rage. If that stuck up, wannabe badass wanted to pick on his friends, he'd have another thing coming.
It wasn't long before he caught up to the owner of the Ferrari. Without thinking, he immediately slammed into his bumper.
"Hey!" he heard the driver yell from his window. "This car is worth more than your life!"
"Not mine, but maybe yours," Bumblebee slammed into the car once again, earning a squawk of outrage from the driver.
After a final hit, the black car pulled over to the side, and the driver stormed out. "You want to fight? Fine! Then get out of your little bug and face me on your own two feet."
"As you wish," Bumblebee transformed to his root mode, and smirked down at the driver. While he was a minibot and therefore shorter than most Cybertronians, he was still at least twice the size of a human.
"You still want to fight?"
"You! You're one of them!" The guy's eyes lit up with horror. "What are you doing here?"
"A friend dragged me out," Bumblebee said. "Speaking of my friend; when you were just messing with me, I was ready to let it go. You know, forgive and forget." He picked up the man with one hand, holding him like a child with a doll.
"But then you hurt my friend, and I don't feel so forgiving anymore."
"W-Wait, please!" the man pleaded. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. "I'll give you however much you want, just don't eat me, or whatever you guys do with humans!"
"We don't-" Bumblebee sighed. What was he doing, threatening a human, even a human as awful as this one? If only Optimus could see him right now...
"I don't want your money. Just... get out of here and don't come back. He doesn't want to ever see you again, and neither do I. Understand?"
"It's a deal," the man said with great relief. He looked over at his half mutilated car. "But I think I might need a ride home. Do you think you could..."
"Absolutely not," Bumblebee said. He transformed back to his alt mode, driving off toward the finish line.
***
"Hey Bee."
His counterpart grinned up at him from his berth in the medbay. "Hey, yourself."
It took some convincing, but Bumblebee was finally able to allow Ratchet to look over his injuries. Luckily none of his injuries were permanent or too severe to be fixed, but he still needed a few days of rest to recover.
"Did you get in a lot of trouble?"
"Eh, nothing I'm not used to. Optimus gave me a pretty lengthy lecture and I'm only allowed out for missions for the next two weeks, but nothing too bad. If anything, he seemed more worried than mad."
"That's Optimus for you," Bumblebee said.
There was a few moments of silence before his counterpart spoke up. "Hey... I'm sorry I kind of put a dent in your plans to get home. I know you're really worried about Starscream, and well, who can blame you? I just thought it would be fun to have, y'know, a twin around for a bit. One I could have some fun with."
Bumblebee rose an optic ridge. "Is that what you think of me as? Like a twin brother?"
"I mean, I guess? I know we're not actually twins, but there really isn't a word to describe your relationship with yourself from an alternate universe."
"I suppose not," Bumblebee smirked. "Well, I'll leave and let you get some rest."
"You'll still be here when Ratchet lets me go right?" His counterpart asked before he left. "You won't leave without saying goodbye?"
Bumblebee smiled. "Of course not. Now get some sleep."

To be fair, TK wasn’t sure what to expect for his first holiday season in Austin. But he has his dad, he has his team, he has Carlos—and it’s enough.
@911giftexchange for @teaamfreewill — i hope you enjoy this AJ, and have a happy holiday season!!! 💗
ALSO AVAILABLE ON AO3!!
“It just doesn’t feel right without snow.”
Paul looks at him with that ever-present, all-knowing look in his eyes, before letting out a sigh and nodding. “You’re telling me, New York.”
“Like,” TK starts, fully aware that he’s gravitating into rambling status at this point, but he can never stop himself. He rests a foot on the bottom rung of the shopping cart, leaning his weight against the handle as Paul analyzes the nutritional facts on two different brands of steel-cut oats. “It doesn’t feel like the holidays without at least one storm that makes you question your existence.”
Humming in agreement, Paul puts one package back on the shelf and tosses the other in the cart, before hesitating and grabbing a few more of the pale-blue bags before they're good to move on to produce. When there's a comfortable lull in conversation, both of them crossing items off the list his dad's very carefully crafted for the bi-weekly shopping trips, TK lets his mind drift to holidays past.
His parents wanted him to grow up with both the tradition of celebrating Hanukkah and Christmas, but as he grew older, Decembers tended to blur into every other month. He'd always call his mom if he was working late, smiling down at photos she'd send him of her attempts to perfect her grandmother's recipe for sufganiyot, always making his stomach rumble. And, even if she was out of the city at the time, she'd always send him a box of homemade pastries and a card with a lengthy message inscribed inside that'd make him feel warmed from the inside out. And his dad would always make him at least come for a dinner on the twenty-fifth, even if dinner was just takeout eaten straight out of the cartons while they watched the Christmas parade he always recorded.
They were simple traditions, but they were theirs.
In Austin, TK's slowly getting used to calling it home. The snow thing had been the first to strike him, because while he's seen his fair share of strange Texan weather, not waking up to white covering every surface and bitter cold nipping at his skin has been throwing him for a loop.
"Earth to TK," Paul says, tossing him a bell pepper. TK catches it, rolling his eyes playfully at his friend. "We should start figuring out a place and time for the Not-Christmas dinner."
"Carlos offered his place," TK says, without thinking. Paul just grins at him.
"That seems to be going well, huh?" Paul asks, hip-checking TK as they walk side-by-side to the checkout. TK feels his face go warm, though he busies himself with adjusting the rolled sleeves of his black t-shirt, printed with the 126 crest over his heart. Paul just musses up his hair before ducking out of grasp for retaliation, sidling up to the cashier and offering his big smile at her while she begins to ring them up. "I'm happy for you, kid. We all are."
TK does smile at that, because it's the one shining light in all of this. He hadn't been sure what a holiday season with a new boyfriend would be like, especially when every single one of his friends were also friends with said boyfriend, but they've all been relatively tame. No shoving them under the mistletoe yet, which TK guesses is only a matter of time.
"Anyway," Paul says, and TK sticks his hands into his pockets, suddenly glad Marjan isn't here to poke at his pink cheeks.
"Anyway," TK agrees. "Carlos did offer to let us use his place, though. He suggested the twenty-second, so that way people could still go see their families."
"The twenty-second it is," Paul smiles, already typing the date into their group chat, followed by five question marks. Because Carlos thought ahead for these things, TK knows they're all already going to be on one of their twenty-four-hour off periods; Carlos works that morning but will be home by noon, and as long as TK has detailed instructions, he won't have a problem starting the food early.
A small knot forms deep in TK's chest, even though he knows there's still two weeks before the proposed group dinner. He just thanks the cashier after paying with the credit card his dad gave him before they left the station an hour ago, and they head back out into the sunny, barely-cool, snowless, December afternoon.
***
TK's just hanging up with his mom, absently kicking at a rock in the lot just outside the bay doors, when he feels someone creep up behind him.
He doesn't even blink, though, because he smells sandalwood and tangy citrus and is smiling before he feels familiar arms settle around him. He tells his mom I love you, too, and stuffs his phone in his pocket and leans back into Carlos' touch, for half a moment, before turning in his arms and pressing their foreheads together.
"Did you know you're impossible to shop for?"
TK grins, and presses a quick kiss to the corner of Carlos' mouth before pulling back enough to look him in the eye. "What a welcoming statement after not seeing each other for twenty-seven hours."
Carlos rolls his eyes affectionately, and tightens his hold around TK's middle. "I missed you, Ty."
"I missed you too," TK grins, cupping Carlos' face between his palms and finally closing the distance between them properly. "But I do take offence to that. I'm perfect in every way."
Carlos huffs a laugh against his mouth and presses in for one more kiss, before scraping his blunt nails against the fine hairs at TK's nape. "Believe me, I know, sweetheart."
He feels a pleasant ripple shoot through him, and TK's struck again by the fact that he gets to have this. He's close enough to see the flecks of gold in Carlos' warm brown eyes, and he wonders how it's only been three months because he feels like he's known him forever. He thinks of decorating with Marjan today and the sudden pang of homesickness that he couldn't quite explain.
"You okay?" Carlos asks, because he can read even the most microscopic of his expressions like the back of his own hand. TK covers it up with a smile.
"Yeah, of course," TK brushes his thumb along Carlos' jaw, before standing back, dragging his hand down the length of Carlos' arm so he could grab his hand and tangle their fingers together. "Come on, I'll buy you dinner."
"My prince," Carlos plays along, hand over his heart, but there's still a look in his eyes. He runs his thumb over the backs of TK's knuckles, and when TK squeezes his hand tighter, he gets a small smile in return.
***
They'd realized sometime between Thanksgiving and the first of December that they'd have to celebrate as a team, this year.
The non-denominational, coined-by-Mateo "Not-Christmas Dinner" idea was agreed upon pretty quickly, and TK is beyond excited to start creating new traditions with his family. But he's struggling, is the thing. He wouldn't ever mention it to anyone because he hates stressing them out, and though he has no urge to do anything stupid because for the first time in a while he's happy—like, really fucking happy—he can't help but to feel like everything has to be perfect.
It boils down to this: he misses his mom like crazy, even though she stayed with him and his dad for a couple weeks back in September when he was still healing. He's finally getting back on track with his dad, after long nights of hashing things out about his childhood. And he and Alex never did much for the holidays save for giving each other a couple gifts because they could never work out how to spend an equal amount of time with both of their families—which, in hindsight, is yet another element of the two and a half years TK lost to the man he thought was his soulmate—but now with Carlos he just wants things to be special. They already have plans to visit Carlos' mom and sisters on Christmas Eve, and Owen had lovingly coerced Carlos into a Strand family dinner on Christmas Day.
It just feels like a lot.
"Hey, are you okay?" Marjan asks, bumping his shoulder with hers as she strolls into Carlos' kitchen. The twenty-second kind of crept up on TK, and now he's here, attempting to hold down the fort while Carlos makes a last-minute trip to the store. His kitchen's a homey space, and, like the rest of his boyfriend's place, it's tastefully decorated with garland and candles and little angel statues that have been passed down through his family. There's a photo of the two of them on Carlos' fridge, pressed together at a pumpkin patch they'd spent a date night at back in October, and TK gets a little lost in the memory. Marjan has to nudge him a little harder to get him to snap back into it. "TK?"
"Oh, hey," TK smiles at her, and goes back to making sure that the green beans don't stick to the bottom of the pan. She claims a burner of her own to keep her tagine warm, leaning back against the counter with her arms folded over her chest.
"You're spacing out a bit," Marjan says, and when TK keeps his eyes trained on the vegetables he swore he could handle, she just makes a small noise and places a hand on his shoulder. "You've been a little quiet lately."
There's a pause, where neither of them say anything, before Marjan drops her voice a little and adds:
"Hey, you know you can talk to me, right?"
"I'm just—" TK shakes his head and bites at the inside of his cheek, turning down the heat to try and kill more time.
He doesn't know how to tell her—and the rest of them—that he's both so thankful for this family he's found and so, so terrified of messing it all up. Thankfully, he doesn't have to; there's a knock at the door and Marjan offers to get it, leaving TK alone with a soft smile. He sighs, and closes his eyes for a long moment.
***
After food has been served, and gifts have been exchanged, they all sit around Carlos' living room. The conversations overlap like they always do, and TK sits comfortably under the glow of the light from the tree and the warmth of Carlos' arm thrown over his shoulder. He's slowly picking at a piece of Grace's pecan pie, and he knows he should just let himself get lost in the moment, but he can't. He taps his foot at a staccato beat against the floor, and even when Carlos throws him a questioning look and settles his hand on TK's knee, he doesn't stop.
He finally excuses himself ten minutes later.
Carlos' place has a nice little backyard area, where they've all gathered for parties and after-work hangouts countless times. It's a little chilly as the sun's gone down, and TK sighs out loud and sees his breath puff out in front of him. He smiles just a little, and kicks his foot against the porch, dropping down onto the steps.
He's expecting Carlos to come after him; or maybe Marjan, or his dad. Instead it's Grace who settles down next to him, a hand splayed over her four-month pregnant belly.
"Honey," she starts, and TK ducks his head. His eyes burn, and he roughly sniffs. "TK. You don't have to hide whatever you're thinking from us."
He takes a deep breath, and scrubs a hand down his face. And then he says: "I don't want to bring down your mood."
Grace gives him one of her warm smiles. "TK, every day I'm reminded why you and my husband get along so well."
TK rolls his eyes and gently nudges her arm with his shoulder.
"Now tell me what's wrong," Grace says, and TK rubs the back of his neck before he starts talking.
He tells her everything. About how the holidays usually meant bickering with Alex. How it meant celebrating with both of his parents, sure, but also dealing with awkward dinners with their new significant others. About how he hasn't felt this good since he was a kid and he doesn't want to fuck it up.
"You could never fuck it up," Grace tells him, squeezing his hand that she's been holding between both of hers. TK meets her eyes and finds nothing but sincerity, nothing but the warmth and reassurance that always seems to be there. "Never. And know that all of us in there don't care about perfect as long as we have you, as long as we're all together. Now, I'm going to send that beautiful man of yours out here so you can talk to him, because he's been worried."
At that exact moment, they hear the telltale creak of the door opening; both of them glance over their shoulders and spot Carlos.
He moves to leave, lifting a hand in apology. "Sorry to interrupt—"
"I was just leaving," Grace says, getting to her feet and squeezing TK's shoulder for a brief moment. When she disappears back into the house, Carlos takes her spot, and wordlessly presses a lingering kiss to TK's temple.
"Ty," Carlos starts, and TK stops him in his tracks with a kiss.
"I'm sorry for being distant, lately," TK murmurs half against his lips, because even though he knows that Carlos has seen him pretty close to his worst he hates the thought of pulling him down; of making him unhappy. "I'm just—it's been so long since I've had this. And I've never had someone like you. I was so worried about not messing things up that I got in my head."
"Hey," Carlos whispers, getting TK to look him in the eye. "Please don't apologize, okay? We're all healthy, and here together—that's what matters, right? That I get to have you by my side through it all?"
Could you blame TK for surging forward to kiss him again?
When they part, TK whispers: "Thank you."
"What for?" Carlos asks, eyes glinting with confusion.
"For being you," TK says, knowing how it sounds.
Carlos shakes his head, moving to lace their fingers together.
They move in unison to press their foreheads together, and TK whispers, "I love you so much. I just needed you to know that."
"Of course I do," Carlos says, smiling into it when he kisses TK before speaking again. "I love you too. And I don't want you to feel like you have to—to hide what you're feeling."
TK just lets himself have what he wants, what he needs in the moment, and it's this: Carlos' mouth against his, again and again.
***
They re-enter the party ten minutes later, and all eyes are on them when they slip into the living room.
TK opens his mouth to make some big declaration, but Marjan catches his eye, and then Paul. Then it's his dad who dramatically clears his throat and points above the two of them.
Because, of course, there's mistletoe fastened to the doorway above them.
"I hate you all," TK mutters, to which Judd yells lies! and Paul yells something about getting on with it. So, TK does; he presses his palms to either side of Carlos' face and grins at him before closing the distance between them. There's a whoop from someone for effect, and then when they pull apart Marjan pulls him down next to her on the loveseat so he can be thrown into a conversation about fighting mall elves they'd had to deal with during a call yesterday.
Looking around the room, he realizes he had nothing to worry about at all. And, to be fair, TK wasn't sure what to expect for his first holiday season in Austin. But he has his dad, he has his team, he has Carlos—and it's enough.

Through Loose Strands of Hair: A Short Story
I have always thought that I am not the kind to marry, partly because I was raised to believe that red-headed people would look a bit too odd in a white dress for a bride.
Strangely enough, I never even understood the reason or necessity for a marriage, since we seldom see lengthy and happy ones, especially in the twenty-first century, when divorces are at an all-time high. My aunt once quipped that as a student of law, I could become a divorce lawyer and assist heartbroken parents to break their children's hearts as well.
Strangely enough, I have never understood why some things had to be kept hidden, tucked away in long strands of hair, concealed behind a hat that no one can see through. Surprisingly, I have never understood why, even in the sophisticated world of the twenty-first century, why certain regions fail to comprehend the significance of liberty. But, at the very least, the world acknowledged at least some sense of real spirit when it abandoned the custom of formally wearing hats in the mid-nineteenth century. But that alone has turned me and my hair a hideous red colour, exposed and obvious even in a crowd of two hundred people.
Strangely enough, I am sometimes worried that my secrets may leak out of my hair and into my fiancé's ears. What if he discovers the truth about my true being? I am still not ready to say it, but I prefer 'hers' over 'hims,' is all I can say.
In fact, I had told Jerry this before, but he mocked and had merely remarked, "Your Indian accent is incredibly hilarious, I assume you are trying to say you like her clothing better than his?" when I remembered we were at his niece and nephew's birthday celebration. The twins had turned seven, and as usual, they had caused a temper tantrum in order to dress up as if it were the second Halloween of the year.
The pit of my stomach growled for not having the confidence to rebuke him and tell him my age-old secret. I wish I could simply declare to the whole world, “I am the same as Josephine Barry, but with boys” like brave and courageous Cole in Anne of Green Gables, but with girls.
“I will be heading to Maya's to help prepare an apple pie for the kids,” I said as I stood up to face Jerry, who had worry leaking from the corners of his eyes. And with that, I left my fiancé stunned and sorrowful, his jaw on the ground and his back slouched.
When I returned home that evening, he finally confronted me. “I know you have been cheating on me,” he accused with sorrowful eyes and my heart had never beat my chest faster. It took on the fastest train it had ever been capable of, while I wiped my palms on the sides of my jeans. “Just tell me his name and it won’t take me a second to leave. I just want to see you happy.” He slipped a piece of wavy red hair behind my ears, brushing away the stray tears from my eyes.
“Maya,” I said as quietly as I could, and his eyes widened.
For a bit of twelve seconds, I saw his eyes widen, squint, glisten with tears, and then widen again, emanating rage. “How come you didn't tell me?”
Looking down at my pair of brown shoes, I noticed they had collected dust. It has been raining non-stop for a few days, and now I know why. Destiny has funny ways of letting us know about a big change that is about to come. I strolled up to Jerry's bookshelf and took the only one that was sticking out from the pile of books, feeling its fragile and worn cover. As soon as I opened the book and revealed its worn and damaged pages, a strong odour of coffee filled my nostrils.
“Do you remember I gifted you this book on our first anniversary?” I questioned the dumbstruck man who was standing in front of my freedom with a slouched back and dull eyes, while I traced the print of “Jane Eyre” printed on its leather cover.
All he could muster was a puzzled "huh?" and I took that as my sign to continue the dialogue. Tracing the ancient pages with my nervous fingertips, I turned to the most delicate page, which was on the verge of falling off the binding.
“I remembered that the real world was wide and that a varied field of hopes and fears, of sensations and excitements, awaited those who had the courage to go forth into its expanse, to seek real knowledge of life amidst its perils,” I read to him just as the window was flung open, and the powerful wind pulled my long red hair into its own cradle, allowing my age-old secret to spill forth.
“I was not cheating,” I murmured quietly, looking down, and letting my tears run along with my age-old secret.

Hold My Hand: John Wick x Reader Chapter 89
Tumblr media
warnings: none, just lengthy speeches  HMH masterlist
Before the speeches started, you and John quickly snuck into the house to take a shot of his more expensive whiskey since you’re both incredibly nervous. You’re still a little nervous to get up there in front of everyone, but you know that if John can do it, then you can too.
Jimmy kept his speech pretty short, but he got plenty of laughs from everyone. He talked all about how John is a great guy, and how much he adores you. He even told a story about John that you hadn’t heard before -- it was tame enough for your wedding thankfully. He didn’t get as sappy as he did during your ceremony, but it was a good speech nonetheless.
Tess is holding the mic firmly in her hand as she stands in front of everyone, and you smile at her, completely captivated by how comfortable she is to be in front of so many people. You’re definitely going to need at least two more drinks to stand up there and deliver your speech.
“Hey, everyone, how’s it going? Most, if not all, of you know me, but if, for some incredibly weird reason you don’t, I’m Tess, and I am the big sister of that beautiful bride right there.” she says, looking at you. She inhales deeply and looks back out at everyone, “I want to thank you all for coming out tonight. I know how much it means to both Y/N and John to have you all here. I’m so happy that they’re able to share their special day with you all.”
You and Tess never even talked about a speech, and you’re squeezing John’s hand and praying she won’t say anything to embarrass the two of you.
“I’ll try to keep this short -- ever since I’ve had my baby, I’m very emotional.” she says, and you hear some light laughter. “Our relationship has always been a unique one. I mean, how many people can say that their sister is also their best friend and actually mean it? I fully mean it when I say that Y/N is my best friend. I don’t know anyone quite like her; she’s just amazing. Since everyone here knows me, you probably know how protective I am of her. I will do whatever I have to do to protect that girl.”
You reach over for a tissue and quickly wipe away a tear in the corner of your eye, and you look over at John as he smiles at you. He places his left hand on your back and rubs it, then he pulls your chair a little closer to him.
“When we moved here for our fresh start, I tried to get her to date some people, but she was not having it. She wanted to take her time, and I understood that.” Tess looks at you and laughs, “She was going to do things on her term and at her own pace. I was totally cool with that, until I get a little fed up with her one day and made her go outside to check the mail because I wanted her to get out of the house. Best thing I ever made you do, huh?”
You laugh as you nod your head, “Yeah.”
“She met the love of her life; she met John. Now, I had seen John around a few times. Seen him walking Bleu around the block a time or two, and we’d always joke about how hot he was, but even then, Y/N didn’t give it much thought. I don’t think she ever really even looked at him. Not because she didn’t think he was attractive -- we all know John is attractive. Y/N didn’t want to look, because looking meant potentially liking this guy, which could lead to heartbreak.” Tess looks at you and smiles, “But…she finally met him, and she immediately hit it off with him.”
John wraps his arm around the back of your chair and pulls you closer to him so he can press a kiss to the top of your head, “I love you.”
“I love you too.” you whisper back before you look at Tess as she finishes her speech.
“The first time I met John, I didn’t even have to turn on my protective big sister mode.” she looks at John and smiles, “John already had his protective mode on, and he was already protecting my sister. I could see it in the way he would ever so gently touch her arm or back, the way he would give her his undivided attention, the way he looks at her. Look at him, look at the way this man looks at my sister. Are you kidding me?”
Every person under the pavilion turns to look at you and John, and you laugh when you hear someone yell for the two of you to kiss. John smiles as he leans over to kiss you, and you sigh contently as you lean back and look at him. Yup, he’s pretty much in love with you.
“Come on.” Tess jokingly groans, pulling everyone’s attention back to her, “I promise I’m almost done. Ever since I met John, I knew he was the one for her. I knew he was the one she was going to marry and spend her life with. I just knew -- I am her big sister, and big sisters are always right.”
You roll your eyes playfully at Tess, “Yeah, yeah.”
“This past year, I’ve been able to grow closer to John, or as I like to call him, Old Man Wick. He’s the brother that I never got to have. He’s not only protective of my little sister, he’s protective of me as well, and I know mom takes comfort in knowing that.” Tess smiles, and you look over at your mom, who is full on crying. “John is…such a good guy, I can’t even begin to describe how good of a man he is -- I’m sure Y/N will do it for me when she gets up here. Anyway, I’ll stop talking now if you want.”
The crowd lets out a laugh, and you shake your head at Tess so she’ll continue -- you just love hearing her thoughts on John.
“John and Y/N, the love that you two share is inspiring. The way you two love each other, trust each other, encourage each other, it’s…incredible. How open and honest you are with one another, it’s really admirable. Your love grows with every passing day, and it just gets deeper and deeper. I can’t wait to see you two as parents when that day comes, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you two because, whether you like or not, John, I’m not going anywhere! I love you two.”
Tess puts the mic down on the table, then she quickly walks over to hug you. She throws her arms around John and rocks from side to side with him, then she presses a kiss to his cheek.
John reaches out for your hand as he walks over to grab the mic, then he smiles when you look at him. He looks so handsome and happy tonight. His hair is fluffy, of course, but it is combed back just a little bit. His dark eyes are so warm and so damn full of happiness that it causes you to grow a little teary eyed every time you look at him -- you’ve never seen John so happy.
You inhale shakily as you take the mic from John, then you hold it in your hands, “On behalf of my husband and I, we’d like to thank you all for coming. We really appreciate that you’d want to be a part of our day.”
“I can do it.” John whispers, reaching out for the mic. He takes the mic from you, then he points at the chair next to Tess, “Go sit down, baby.”
You widen your eyes and smile, “You’re gonna do this without me?”
“This is all for you.” he says, and for a moment, you think he’s about to burst out in song.
You sit down next to Tess and clasp your hands in front of your chest as John shuffles in place a little bit. John looks so nervous up there, but you’re excited to hear what he has to say.
“So, I know I just met a lot of you for the first time tonight, and if we haven’t met yet, I’m John.” he says, and you smile when he looks at you, “And I am now married to that beautiful woman right there. I want to thank you all for coming out tonight. It really does mean so much to, not only Y/N, but me as well.”
You’re already beginning to tear up, and you don’t know how you’re ever going to make it through the rest of his speech without sobbing, or running to his side to be with him. He’s barely even started and you’re already tearing up!
“This might come as a shock to a lot of people, but I’m a few years older than Y/N.” he says, and you jokingly gasp. “And I’ve been married once already. I was married for 5 years, but I unfortunately lost my wife. She was ill and she passed away, and I lost everything when she died.”
On the surface, it sounds like John is referring to Helen as his everything -- and he was -- but not entirely. After Helen passed, John did lose everything. He lost his love, his home, his freedom, and almost his life. You’re more than aware of that.
“After she passed, I was in quite a tough position.” he says, and you let out a small laugh. “Life was a little…rocky, I was unsure of a lot of things, but in the end, I got back to Mill Neck and kind of got back to trying to live a normal life, a life that I so badly wanted.”
“I think he’s working his way up to me.” Jimmy says, and when John looks at you, you nod towards Jimmy.
John is definitely working his way up to Jimmy, and you already know he’s going to thank every person in this room. You can’t wait for it.
“So, I get back to Mill Neck. I’m just living my life, and I run into Jimmy, who is my best man tonight. Jimmy is a great guy, and he said some pretty great stuff about me earlier during our ceremony that I don’t think I’d be able to top.” he says, then he chuckles a little, “Jimmy is a good pal of mine, but no offense, Jimmy, you had horrible taste when it came to setting me up on dates.”
“I won’t argue with that, man.” Jimmy says, lifting his drink.
“If I’m being honest, I wasn’t completely ready to date when Jimmy had set me up on a few dates. I figured that’s what my late wife would want me to do though. She wanted me to get out there and live my life again. So, I agreed to a few dates. Some were horrible, some actually weren’t so bad, and I ended up making a pretty good friend instead.” he says, and he smiles at Jen, then he looks over at you again, “But the moment I saw my beautiful wife, that was the moment I knew I was ready to date again. She was just living right across the street when I saw her for the first time. It was like this switch had been turned on in my body, and my sights were set on her. I had to know this woman.”
John takes a pause for a moment, and he puts his hand on his hip like he’s trying to figure out what to say next. He doesn’t even have a piece of paper that he’s reading from, so honestly, he’s doing great on his own. John takes a deep breath and that's when you realize he's not pausing because he can't think of what to say, he's pausing because he's getting choked up.
“I wanted to know her, but there was something about her that made me absolutely terrified.” he says, and you hear a few people laugh. “I tried to introduce myself to her twice, and both times I got too nervous and backed out. I’m a grown man, but this woman scared the absolute shit out of me.”
You roll your eyes playfully at John, “Oh, whatever!”
“I finally introduced myself to her, and right after I scolded myself for not doing it sooner. She was so sweet and soft spoken when I met her -- not that she isn’t now, but now she’s a little spit fire.” he says, and you shrug bashfully. “As a result of getting to know her, I got closer to my best man, Jimmy. It was also cool to see Jimmy and Y/N instantly hit it off. They’re great friends, and they love to tease Tess and I. They randomly burst out in song, which leaves Tess and I completely stunned. They’ve randomly choreographed dances, they go out to lunch every once in a while, and they’re just great friends.”
It’s true! You and Jimmy have become great friends over the past year, and you do burst out in song and make up dances sometimes when John and Tess aren’t around. You also love to tease John and Tess. Jimmy is a great guy, and even if he wasn’t married to Tess, you’d still love him because he’s just a fun guy to be around and he’s such a great friend to John.
“Jimmy, I want to thank you for making my ass get out of the house and introduce myself to her. I’m truly grateful for our friendship, and I’m grateful that you agreed to officiate our wedding today. We couldn’t have had anyone better for it.” he says, and everyone laughs when Jimmy gets up and hugs John.
Wiping away the tear on your cheek, you stand up and hug Jimmy tight when he walks over to sit back down at the table. He presses a kiss to your cheek, then he cups your face in his hands.
“Love you, sis.”
You press a kiss to his cheek and smile, “Love you, Jimmy.”
John takes a deep breath and exhales as he looks over at Tess, “And that brings me to you. Tess, you look beautiful tonight. That’s what you told me to say, right?”
“I think the word I used was radiant, but beautiful works too.” Tess laughs, and John chuckles as he shakes his head.
“I want to thank you for how much support you have given to Y/N. You’ve been an incredible friend and sister to her, and she’s learned a lot from you. I mean it. She has. I know she’s picked up some of her snark from you, so again, thank you.” he says sarcastically, then he gives Tess a wink, “You really are a great friend to me, too. It’s nice knowing that I can call you up, and you’re willing to help me out. Over this past year, you really have become my little sister.”
Tess puts her hand over her heart, then she blows a kiss to John as she laughs, “I love you, old man Wick.”
“Ah, yes, always grateful for those nicknames as well.” John laughs, turning his attention towards your mom. “Mom, I want to start off by thanking you for raising such an incredible woman. She is, by far, the most amazing person I’ve ever met. She’s kind, generous, understanding, loving, and so much more. She is a great reflection of you. She got all of her best traits from you. From the first time that I met you, you welcomed me into your family immediately. You told me to call you mom seconds after I met you. I had only been dating your daughter for a little less than three months when I asked for your permission to marry her, and you said yes.”
Your mom is in tears and nods her head, “Of course, Jonathan.”
“Dad, I’m so grateful that Y/N as a father like you. And knowing that you love her like she’s your own really does mean a lot to me. Thank you both for giving me permission to take on the role of protecting and loving your daughter. It’s one that I’ve been looking forward to for a long time.” John says, smiling at both your mom and Dan, “She is my top priority every single day, and I promise to love her endlessly.”
Your mom immediately gets up to hug John and the two of them exchange a few words, and you see them both wiping tears off their cheeks. Dan reaches out to shake John’s hand, then they hug quickly. John is definitely going to be focusing on you for the last bit of his speech, so you reach over and grab Jimmy’s beer and take a big sip.
“I’m next.” you say, and Tess laughs as she pulls out a few tissues, “Yeah, gonna need those.”
John looks like he wants to throw up and if he didn’t want to finish his speech, you’d totally understand. He’s been talking for nearly five minutes already, and you have no idea how he’s doing it, you would have fainted by now. Then again, John has had a few drinks today and you don't blame him one bit.
“You knew I had to save the best for last.” John says, and you immediately begin to tear up when he smiles. “First of all, you look…so beautiful today. I keep looking at you and every time, I’m just stopped in my tracks by how gorgeous you are. An absolute vision. Even without your hair all done and your makeup and your beautiful dress, you take my breath away. Just laying on the couch with your hair all up in a pile on top of your head, wearing one of my sweatshirts that probably has some sort of food stain on it, you still blow me away.”
You laugh as you playfully roll your eyes, “Thank you for that.”
“I get to spend the rest of my life with you. How lucky am I?” he smiles, and you gesture to him. “And every time I say that to you, you reply with…”
“I get to spend the rest of my life with you, so how lucky are we?”
“Earlier today when we exchanged our vows in private, you said to me that you have faith in our love. I have so much faith in our love as well, but part of me was nervous that you weren’t going to show up today. I was afraid that you had realized what you were getting yourself into, and you and Tess were almost out of the state.” he laughs, and everyone joins in. “I want to thank you for allowing me to get to know you and for allowing me to love you. This past year has flown by, and it’s easily been the best year I’ve ever had.”
Grabbing a tissue from Tess, you dab away the tears in your eyes as you watch John tearing up a little more. John begins to get a little choked up, and you move to the edge of your seat and prepare yourself to take over for him. He clears his throat a little, then he looks up and smiles at you.
“When I asked her what kind of wedding she wanted, I figured she’d want something pretty small. Because if I’ve learned one thing this past year, it’s that she hates to be the center of attention. We have that in common, so the fact that I’m standing up here and have been talking for the past ten minutes, I can see how stunned she is.”
“I am beyond stunned, but I’m so proud!” you smile, clasping your hands in front of your chest, “So proud, baby!”
John laughs, the he looks back out at everyone, “All of my life, I've craved this sense of normalcy that I could never find. I found it temporarily with my late wife, but then I lost it when I lost her. I thought there was no way I'd ever get it again. Until I saw this woman. But this time, it was different. This was something I had never felt before.”
“God, he is crushing this speech.” Tess says, and you smile proudly.
John turns to face you a little more, and it’s suddenly like everyone else has disappeared. It’s just you and John now.
“The more I get to know you, the more I fall in love with you. I still fall in love with you every single day.” he says, and you both smile at each other, “Just knowing that I have you in my life is so comforting. You know everything, and I mean, everything there is to know about me, and you’ve accepted me nonetheless. Baby, just think back to that first month, this time last year…”
You look at John as you think it through in your head and frown a little when you realize that the first month you met John, you were falling head over heels in love with him, but you didn’t know anything about him. He was hiding a huge part of his life from you. But here you are, a whole year later, and the two of you are married. Your bond is unbreakable, and it’s all because of the two of you. You made John feel comfortable enough to open his heart and let you in, and he shared his most private secret with you: he’s a fucking assassin.
“We’ve come a long way in such a short amount of time, haven’t we?”
You nod as you wipe away the tear on your cheek, “Yeah, we have.”
“I love you in ways that I never knew were possible, and I love you for so many reasons that I won’t even get into because I know everyone's dying for me to stop talking.” he says as you both start to laugh. “You are my absolute best friend. You’re my -- Tess, don’t cringe -- you’re my peach.”
You look over at Tess as you laugh, then you reach for her hand when you see she’s crying softly.
“You have taught me so much about life in just a short amount of time. You’ve changed my whole outlook on life, to be honest. No relationship is easy, you and I both know that. Ours certainly hasn’t always been, especially not that first month or two last year. But with you by my side, I know that we can get through anything life throws our way. Baby, you have my entire heart, and I love you more than you’ll ever understand. Thank you for giving me purpose.” John grabs his drink off the table and holds it up, “If you’d all raise a glass to my beautiful bride. To Y/N, thank you.”
Glasses cling and people cheer as you get up and walk over to John. You throw your arms around his neck as you press your lips to his, and he lifts you off the of ground, hugging you tight to his chest.
“I don’t think I have it in me to make a speech.” you laugh as he sets you back down.
John shakes his head, “You don’t have to. Today is your day.”
“It’s our day.” you say, taking the mic from John, “Okay, well, as you can see, he’s absolutely amazing. He’s pretty crazy about me, too. Sit down, Wick. It’s your turn.”
John quickly grabs his drink, then he sits down next to Tess, and he looks like a little kid who is about to listen to his mom tell him a fantastic story. It’s odd being up in front of everyone without John next to you, but when you look over and see the smile on his face, you know that you can get through this.
You can do this, you can do this without crying!
“A bride’s speech isn’t quite a traditional thing, but like I’ve said a few times today, we’re not very traditional.” you turn to Tess and hold her gaze, “Tess, we’ve had one hell of an adventure this past year and a half. You and I moved here, we got jobs at a bookshop, we met wonderful men, and you even had a baby! Who would have ever thought that this is how our lives would turn out? Certainly not us. It’s funny because on our long ass road trip here, Tess was trying to cheer me up a little. I was sad to be leaving mom behind, and I was scared for how much my life would change. I was scared that I was going to hate it here. But Tess, she kept saying that this could be the move that changed our lives. That we could really find ourselves and who knows, maybe we’d even meet some cute guys.”
Tess laughs, “I wasn’t wrong!”
“You weren’t. You weren’t wrong at all.” you smile, then you take a deep breath, “Thank you for standing by my side today and every day since we were…well, since we were born. Tess, you are my sister and I couldn’t prouder of you if I tried. Thank you for pestering me endlessly to go check the mail on this day one year ago. If I hadn’t, I never would have met John. Jimmy, thank you for not only being a great husband to my sister, but a great friend to John and I. I really do love you a lot, and I’m so glad that you were the one to officiate our wedding.”
You promised your mom that you wouldn’t do too big of a speech for her because she knew she’d cry way too hard, and there’s no way you’d get through it either without sobbing.
“My mom made me promise that I wouldn’t do a big speech for her because she knew we’d both cry. So, mom, I just want to thank you for being the best mom. Thank you for not shoving John out the front door when you first met him, and thank you for not freaking out when you found out some of the details of John’s life.”
You reach out and hug your mom, and she kisses your cheek a few times before you lean over and hug Dan, thanking him as well.
“I know you’re all dying for me to shut up, and trust me, I’m sick of my own voice, but I have to thank one last person.” you say, smiling when you look at John, “My husband! Jonathan, you are the absolute perfect person for me. You know just how to love me and just what to say to make me feel better when I’m having a shitty day -- which isn’t too often anymore.”
Don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t cry.
“I always thought that I was a rather hard person to love, well, more like I’d been made to believe that I was a hard person to love. That the things I wanted in a relationship were too much for people. But after being with you, I realized the things I wanted in a relationship are things that should just be given naturally. You have made loving me look so effortless, and seeing how you so effortlessly love me made me realize that I could love myself. I have never loved myself more than I do now that I’m with you. You have made me the best version of myself.”
You take a deep breath as you walk a little closer to John, and he reaches out for your hand and squeezes it in his.
“Now I know that’s not the best thing to say. You should already love yourself, and all of those things, but John made me realize that it was okay to love myself. It was okay to forgive myself for things in the past. The thing is, I was teaching John the same exact thing. We had no idea. I was so busy teaching John to love himself and forgive himself, and just allow himself to be happy that I didn’t even realize he was doing the same thing for me.”
You know you’re talking way too much, but maybe it’s the alcohol, or maybe even the way John is looking at you that is stopping you for ending your speech. Not to mention the fact that it feels amazing to say these things to John in front of your entire family. You’d definitely say them to his face, but the fact that you’re so unafraid to voice your feelings in front of other people is really liberating.
“You are everything that I have looked for in a husband. You’re kind and generous, you’re funny as hell, you offer warmth and security. You protect me on days when I’m feeling a little fragile, and you stand back and let me shine when it’s my moment to do so. You love me completely, just as I love you. You’ve accepted me for me, for all my flaws -- yes, contrary to popular belief, I do have a few. And this is why our relationship works so well, you and I, we have completely given ourselves to one another and accepted each other for the things that other people might not have. Jonathan, I just really fucking love you.”
John cups your face in his hands and pulls you down to kiss him, “I just really fucking love you, too.”
You wipe away the tear on your cheek, then you stand back up, “John, from the moment I met you, I knew that you were going to be the man I loved forever. And I know a lot of people here probably think we’re just making this shit up, that we don’t really talk like this to each other, but Tess can confirm that we do.”
Tess laughs as she nods her head, “Oh, they do. Trust me, everyone. They’re always like this. Very sappy!”
“I know I keep saying that I’m going to stop talking, but I keep getting carried away by how much I love this man.” you say, looking out of everyone, “I truly love this man, and I could sit up here and talk about him endlessly, talk about how I feel about him, how he remembers the smallest, most intimate details of our relationship, how he always makes sure that my burgers never have pickles on them, which is a big deal! I could tell you all about how he bought a fucking bookshop for me, how he clings to me at night when we go to bed, how I know, without a doubt, that this man is head over heels in love with me. I could tell you every last detail of our relationship, everything we've been through, good and bad, but I still don’t think you’d all understand how much love I have for him.”
John reaches out for your hand again when you begin to tear up even more, and he tugs your fingers a little to get you to look at him. He gives the sweetest, most genuine smile, then he presses a kiss to the palm of your hand.
“Thank you for everything you did to make our day so special. A lot of you might not know this, but…” you look up at the pavilion and smile, “John built this whole thing with his two hands. Him and Jimmy spent a whole weekend building it.”
You see everyone look around at the pavilion, and they’re in awe that John was able to build something like this. He’s quite a mystery to all of them.
“Jonathan Charles Wick, thank you for loving me with no hesitation. Thank you for trusting me to know the most intimate details about your life. I love you even more with every passing day. I’m ready to dive head first into the next chapter of our lives, as long as you promise to hold my hand.” you say, smiling when John reaches out for your hand again, “I wish I had a cool way to end my speech like John did, but…here we are. Wick, I fucking love you.”
John gets up as fast as he can, and he pulls you into his arms as you both begin to cry again. Your makeup is probably running all down your face as a result, but in this moment, you just don’t care. You just want to be in John’s arms.
You exhale loudly as you lean back to look at him, “Was that okay? I have no idea what I just said. I think I blacked out.”
John laughs as he nods his head, “Me too. I had to take another shot to be able to get through my speech, but I needed to say all of those things to you and your family. You deserved to hear those things. You deserved a better speech than I gave you, but I was nervous.”
“It was a beautiful speech. People who don’t even know you were crying because they could see how much you love me.” you reach up and place your hand on John’s cheek, “It was an amazing speech, baby.”
“Alright, alright,” Jimmy says into the mic, then he turns to you and John still clinging to each other, “Time for the Wicks first dance.”
You look up at John and smile, “That’s us. The Wicks.”
John smiles at you as the music starts to play, and he nods his head when he realizes you picked the song that he liked the most for your first dance. He wraps your arms around his neck, then he places his hands on your waist to pull you closer.
Swaying back and forth with John, you lean back and look at him, “So weird.”
“You’re my wife.” John smiles, then he raises his eyebrow, “If you still want out of this, I won’t hold it against you.”
“Shut up.” you laugh, leaning up to kiss him, “We’re married. Can’t wrap my head around the fact that you’re mine forever now.”
John nods his head, then he smiles, “I can’t believe that I get to wake up next to you every morning, go to bed with you every night, get to…you know.”
Laughing loudly, you shake your head and tighten your arms around John, “Yeah, I totally can’t wait to do that tonight! Been missin’ you all day. I mean, we’re together, but you know.”
“Trust me, I know!” John chuckles, leaning down to kiss your cheek, “You look like an absolute dream, baby. I can’t thank you enough for choosing me.”
Holding John’s gaze, you reach up and place your hand on his cheek as you smile softly, “I wish you could see yourself the way I see you. I don’t mind all the things in your past. They don’t matter to me, they never have. The only thing that matters to me is that you’re happy.”
“And I am,” John takes your hand and spins you around, then he pulls you back into his arms as you laugh, “Everyone is staring at us.”
“They’re watching.” you correct him, and John leans down to kiss you with a little more warmth. You cup John’s face in your hands as you kiss him, and everyone cheers when John holds tight to you and dips you, keeping his lips pressed to yours. You tilt your head back and laugh as John hugs you, then you pepper his face with kisses.
“Can you believe I get to spend the rest of my life loving on you?” John shakes his head and smiles, “How on earth did I get so lucky?”
You lean up to kiss John again, then you look over your shoulder as a few more people start to dance. Jimmy and Tess are holding each other and Finn in their arms, and you smile when you see Shiloh pulling Gia to her feet as the song changes to a much more upbeat tempo.
“I promise I’m going to give you the best life.” John whispers in your ear as you both continue to sway back and forth, and you melt against his chest, “Anything you want, I’ll happily provide.”
You smile as you tilt your head back and look at him, “Marrying you today, becoming your wife, I already have everything I want.”
The dance floor is full of people dancing, and Tess grabs your arm to pull you away from John as she dances, but you look over at John as Benji, Shiloh and a few of your younger cousins surround him. John kneels down a little to talk to the kids, and Benji shows John a dance move he wants him to try. John laughs as he shakes his head, then he gives it his best try as all of kids start to laugh.
“So cute.” you whisper to yourself, then you laugh as Harper runs over to John. You watch as John holds her in his arms, and he makes his way over to you. “Hi, sweetheart!”
Harper giggles as she buries her face in the crook of John’s neck, and he tickles her tummy and bounces on his knees a little. John takes Harper’s small hand in his and dances as you laugh, and you wipe away the tear on your cheek as you watch them.
John reaches out and rubs his thumb against your cheek, “What’s wrong, baby?”
“Nothing, I’m just…so happy.” you laugh as you wrap your arms around John’s waist and smile at Harper. You look up at John and tear up, holding his gaze, “If this is a glimpse into my future, I can’t wait.”
