Paleblood Hunter could be Laurence’s reincarnation?

Or how things look different if you use cut content!

I received an ask from @marchioness-of-the-flowers-blog on my other blog that made me dive into a small bit of cute dialogue.. and then dive into an ABYSS of potential because I am unhinged fdshfhd Okay, so I presumed that you was referring to this cut dialogue:

There are different ways to go about it, yeah! The simplest way to interpret it is him 'speaking with a person that isn't here' thing - so he doesn't really call US Laurence, but just clings to the memory of him. Like, you know, same vein as the guy accomplishing something and casting arms to the sky all like 'Father I did this, do you see???' meanwhile 'father' is many years ago dead. You get the point!

But, heck, the version that he does start to confuse us for Laurence (whether because of going insane, or us looking similar, or both) is more interesting! I doubt that intention was within appearance because Souls-like games feature custom playable character in their trademark style! Sekiro is more 'a From's game' than it is 'a Souls-like game' after all. So it is probably Gehrman's mind just falling apart!

However, there is another possibility. It could be that the paleblood hunter is a reincarnation of Laurence, or at least was intended to be such in beta version!

We can conclude that the Paleblood Hunter arrived in Yharnam already being aware of 'paleblood' - and even of the risk of losing their memory after blood transfusion! The bit about the very first note being written in your own handwriting is lost in translation so as always I am using excerpts from the lifesaving Last Protagonist's document ( x ).

Also, interestingly, with the context it seems like the Hunter chosen to arrive in the hood intentionally - as if knowing in advance that Yharnam would be hostile to foreigners from somewhere already. For one reason or another, Hunter was informed of what to expect and what they were looking for - be it some divine omens, dreams, them reading about it somewhere, some other character informing them, etc. Arriving in the city to potentially seek the red moon deity behind the Hunt and the Dream is... already very interesting. And very risky task because as gameplay choices show us - without memory it is easy to fail the quest. Not enough cords, not choosing to fight Gehrman...

But also, a detail often missed is that Paleblood Hunter is already not as simple! Here is the invitation in Cainhurst that you can find after imposter doctor invades Iosefka's clinic and takes her place, if you sneak from the secret cave through the woods. It is found in the exact same room where you start the game and where that first note about 'Seek paleblood to transcend the hunt' is!

Easily, she brought it! She, or Iosefka herself right after we left the room - they are most likely twins because devs aren't even subtle about them looking the same.

I talked more about the theory of Laurence having roots in Cainhurst in this ( x ) post, but the key point - a portrait on the Cainhurst has both gold pendant and a necklace Church Servants wear. Can't imagine a more FAT hint, haha. Laurence was the one responsible for creating Hunter's Dream and associating with the paleblood / moon presence, and in that cut dialogue with Gehrman you see he mentions - "The way we've always said we'd end it, you recall".

So, perhaps Laurence could vaguely (or fully) predict what was to come - his impending early death included. Iosefka and the imposter are both in the Healing Church (and very likely both with Cainhurst roots as well - don't forget that Imposter Doctor can prepare the Numbing Mists that are "secret recipe from Cainhurst" and comments on us having scent 'of the moon' - with the only other character saying the same being Annalise). It is a possibility he entrusted one or both of them with the letter. Maybe name of Paleblood Hunter was known many years prior, or maybe they were instructed to write the invitation as soon as they spot a suspicious person seeking paleblood without being a Yharnamite... because that person WILL be important.

Alternatively - maybe the note written in Hunter’s handwriting was not written BY them, but their handwriting matches Laurence’s, so it seems like their! And the note was by Laurence as he knew where the future self would awaken. Then, maybe rather than one of the doctors bringing Cainhurst invitation, it was something along the lines of imposter Iosefka just fumbling around the place, finding this letter tucked somewhere and discarding it - letter he left? And maybe the reason him being reborn was apparent because of strange Cainhurst heritage transcending death as concept - or him having one favour from the Moon Presece for giving her a surrogate child (old man)? There are so many interpretations that choosing only one is already a hassle!

Laurence also lays idly as a beast, yet for some reason his human skull happens to exist in the Nightmare realm, but can't return his memories. So like... If you follow the reincarnation idea - would not that explain why his reaction upon receiving the skull he so desperately wanted is to turn hostile and attack us? Yeah, in the final game most likely he goes erratic when it doesn't help. But if it just so happens that Laurence is full beast, without any 'human but corrupted' sentiment left to him... would not that make sense why he attacks us? Because his actual soul is within HUNTER and now he realizes, and the way to actually return THE Laurence is to kill and consume the hunter.

And on the brink of the end of the night of the hunt, Gehrman just knows. He just can sense that even reborn as new person - this is merely Laurence's next reincarnation, and speaks hoping this part within the Hunter just... understands.

How is this interpretation?

Yeah, this is possible that it is a bit of a stretch, but that would explain some things. Especially the mystery of Cainhurst invitation and why the hunter specifically arrives to solve mystery of paleblood. Such a long time passed that Laurence found Gehrman again as a reincarnation - but he still arrived to at least free him.

Heh... worth a notice that in the cut dialogue, Gehrman sounds like the burning of the Hunter's Dream will destroy it for good, as opposed to the actual game where it seems to be merely a reset. Anyway, thank you for the ask, this was really fun to think about!

Also, shoutout to Impulse for getting stuck in two of those worlds in ONE DAY. Joe revealed that the recording for what we now know as vault hunters was also last monday. Impulse is really going through it.

Impulse sweats. For the past several minutes, Iskall has been staring at him and "hmmm"-ing for some reason. "Do you think he wants us to say something?" Etho asks.

"I mean, I guess?" Impulse says. "He could just ask."

"He's just going to keep humming at us, though," Etho says. "That's scary."

"Scary?" Impulse says, blankly.

"HMMMMM," Iskall says with an irritated expression.

"Scary," Etho confirms. Impulse sighs.

"Okay, I'll handle it. Hey, Iskall," Impulse says.

"Oh, I didn't see you there," Iskall blatantly lies.

"Right. You're, uh, sounding a bit concerned, buddy," Impulse says.

"Right, yes. Very concerned. Did you know you and Etho are already claimed? And, like, super cursed."

"Uh, I got a divorce with Cleo, you know," Etho says, completely straight-faced. "I'm a bachelor now. Not claimed by anyone."

"I'm not sure Bdubs and I ever got a divorce," Impulse says.

"No, no, not claimed like that! Claimed like--I did warn you all, yes? That my patrons would not like it if you came with other gods all over you? They get jealous of each other, let alone whoever you have... doing that to you."

Impulse and Etho glance at each other again. Impulse looks back at Iskall. "Yeah, I think I'd remember if I were claimed by any gods. I don't really... worship any, these days."

"If I worship any gods, Iskall, they're not the kind yours can do anything about," Etho says.

"What?" Impulse says.

"I mean, I'm old! I'm old, Impulse! I've met a lot of gods! Some of them I have opinions on!" Etho says.

"No, I've met yours too, they won't cause problems, yeah?" Iskall says.

"Thank goodness," Etho says.

"Sometimes I forget how old you two are," mutters Impulse. "That doesn't answer the whole... already claimed?"

"Yeah, like, it stinks off of you to me. It's like... you've got... someone's already claimed you to kill players, not mobs. And your health is all wonky. And you're keeping secrets or... kept secret? And don't even get me STARTED on how much time you have. All wrong. Who did you even find to do that to you?"

Impulse freezes.

"...the time was last season," he says, finally.

"Last season? What?" Iskall says.

"Yeah, that was--you know what, tell your gods not to worry about it," Impulse says. "I'm sure it's. Fine? Hey, wait, how can you tell?"

Iskall shakes his head like he's trying to knock something out of his ear. "They're annoying about it. Make whatever curse you're under go away while you're here or they're going to make it my problem. Mine! As though I can do anything about it. Go to the mortal world, they say. Bring your friends back here, they say. We want to meet them, they say. They're so annoying."

Etho, without skipping a beat, says: "Yeah, are those gods or the mother I saw last night?"

There's an ominous roll of thunder.

"Oh, definitely your mom," he says. There is a second, even more ominous roll of thunder happens, somehow entirely focused on Etho's location. Impulse decides to ignore it.

"I'll bother Grian about it," Impulse decides. He somewhat doubts Grian is a god--man, he really, really hopes Grian isn't a god, actually--but maybe he knows that Secret Keeper guy. That feels like the kind of guy who probably did this to them.

"Do that," Iskall says, and he wanders off to bother Stress.

Etho watches him go. "You know, maybe we should worry about the fact we're cursed because of the Life games. That seems, uh, bad," he says.

Impulse thinks about it and shrugs. "Eh, what's the worst that can happen?"

A long silence.

"Don't answer that," he tells the silence, before it can ominously thunder again. He knows the kinds of things that will lead to gods mocking him, after all.

the stupid chat blanc au

Fu only gives out the Ladybug miraculous and chooses Marinette to become the hero of the city.

Le Papillon only akumatises one person and it's Adrien (who becomes Chat Blanc)

During the first akumatisation to not only bait Ladybug out into the open but also to show Paris how dangerous he can be, Le Papillon ordered Chat Blanc to cause some mass destruction.

It didn't work. For some reason, Le Papillon can't control Chat Blanc nor see through his eyes so all he could do was get out of hiding and find the boy.

Chat Blanc did wreak havoc. He vandalised all the Gabriel-related adverts, threw eggs at the front of his stores, chased after pigeons, inhaled twenty 16" pizzas by himself and so on.

He also got bored so he tested his powers on the Eiffel Tower by picking it up and shooting it into the sky.

It crashed into the moon. He didn't mean to do that.

Ladybug accidentally crashes into him similar to origins and that's how they meet. He calls her Maladroit and she's telling him off for destroying the moon, making him whine.

"It was an accident!!!"

"So fix it!"

"I don't know how!"

Ladybug is overwhelmed. There's news that the world is starting to flood because of the damaged moon, she has no idea how to use her powers, she wasn't so keen on being a hero and Chat Blanc is just an overall menace who is no help whatsoever.

She tried to run away and give the earrings away to Alya. However, throughout the whole time when she was at school, she noted how stressed and scared everyone was about the inevitable flood and Chat Blanc.

Marinette also noticed Chat Blanc lingering by the school, looking really lonely. It was then she realised that he looked like he was their age and he probably had no one to rely on. She wondered about the boy under the mask. Maybe...he just wanted a friend?

The city is flooded much faster than everyone anticipated and even Alya got caught up in it. Le Papillon also makes his entrance and he tries to force Chat Blanc into listening to him. Marinette notes the Akuma in visible pain from Le Papillon trying to control him so she suits up and kicks his ass.

She dispels Le Papillon's butterflies, uses Lucky charm, purifies Chat Blanc (all whilst giving him an encouraging smile to show he's safe with her), and uses her cleansing powers.

An amnesiac Adrien watches Ladybug with awe as she delivers her speech to Paris. He falls in love and when she holds his hands and tells him that she'll always try her best to protect him from le Papillon's clutches, he starts internally planning their future wedding.

"I'll try my best to be supportive if I get akumatised again. I promise! I don't want to hurt you."

"Ouais, Chaton~"

Ladybug notes that Adrien is really cute and finds his bashfulness very endearing.

Marinette didn't expect him to join their school (Gabriel was oddly compliant to finally let Adrien go to public school, looking guilty for some reason HMmMMM????).

The gum incident does happen but it's the rest of the class who are very uncomfortable with him despite his attempts to stop Chloe's pranks (who was also lowkey starting to bully him cos "ew adrichou you're a mangy cat now"). It's because he was akumatised that they were wary of him.

Only Marinette knew that he was actually not a bad person. So with Alya's encouragement, Marinette stands up for him in front of the class and reiterates that le Papillon took advantage of Adrien and turned him into a villain.

Nino is the first to step up after that and becomes Adrien's best friend.

The class decide to give him a chance too and towards the end of school, they decide they all really like Adrien. He's just a silly cat.

After school, Adrien waits for Marinette to come out of the building and gives her this heartwarming, cute thank you. He offers her his umbrella and doesn't realise he's also won over her heart. She falls for him.

After all of this, because Gabriel is a perfectionist, he only akumatises Adrien. He wants to try and be able to form the link with him. He akumatises him every time even if it's at the slightest of inconveniences. Be it that they ran out of milk in the kitchen or he accidentally bit the inside of his mouth or that he tripped over his chair, Adrien will get akumatised.

Chat Blanc has a playful relationship with Ladybug. He really likes her but at the same time, he doesn't like having to co-operate and loves being a menace.

"Here, minou, minou, minou!"

"Let me chase after those people in peace!"

"No! That's not very nice!"

"But they did it to that small kid first!"

"...Okay. But you can't just threaten to make them bald and shoot cataclysms at them!"

"BOOOOOOOOOO."

Blanc is also very flirty with Ladybug but she doesn't take him seriously because he ends up growing a liking to her civilian persona too and is just as flirty (Ladybug refuses to acknowledge she's low-key jealous of her own self and Tikki is tired of this shit).

He's more aware of his feelings as Adrien, madly in love with Ladybug and desperate to be closer with Marinette because she's so cool, right??!?

He can remember some things that happened when he was akumatised after he gets purified and often gets embarrassed. He gets all flustered and apologises to Ladybug but she always laughs it off and pats his head and calls him cute nicknames.

Sometimes she stutters like Marinette and Adrien finds it so both endearing and worrying. Hopefully, he doesn't intimidate them both.

He's close friends with Nino, Alya and Marinette. Often they're there every time he gets akumatised. As Chat Blanc, he never tries to pull pranks on them or do mean things. He's extra protective of them.

Alya finds it really funny and interesting how chummy Chat Blanc can get with Marinette and Ladybug.

As Chat Blanc, he has all his memories of being Adrien but his intrusive actions and thoughts are much stronger. (Like a goofy, terrible villain Chat Noir.)

The more Ladybug gets to know him, the more she realises how hard Adrien's life actually is and the things he's been through. So she tries her best to be a very good friend and look after him.

Le Papillon finally manages to create a link between him and Chat Blanc, however it turns out that all along the Akuma has been erasing the link with his infinite destruction.

"Finally! I can reach you, Chat Blanc-"

"Sup, old man."

"Now, you will listen to me and retrieve Ladybug's earrings-"

"Byeeeeeee~"

"NO WAIT PLEASE-"

Le Papillon tries to entice Blanc with offers and promises but it never works. The only time he got close was when he offered him all the fatty tuna he could ever dream of...

Le Papillon realises that using Chat Blanc wouldn't work. But he didn't want to akumatise anyone else because Chat Blanc was just the perfect Akuma and AAAAAAA. So, Mayura steps in.

The first Sentimonstre causes serious harm and almost takes Ladybug out of commission. So Chat Blanc stepped in to save her and he wasn't very happy >:D

Hi! I studied mandarin in high school and college and I've completely lost all of it but I've been really enjoying walking backwards through your translations and learning more casual mandarin (the classes i took between 2006 and 2012 still used 那里那里). I wanted to ask why you chose "the you [that does X]" for "这个的你." I've never heard that turn of phrase in English before (that doesn't mean it doesn't exist ofc maybe just less common), but I'm curious how it's different from something like "this version of you [that does X]." If you don't answer TL questions no worries!!

Hmmmmm It just seemed like the cleanest way to translate the sentence to me lol. I didn’t think anything too strange of the English phrasing, but then again, my grasp of English grammar peaked when I was like 15 and has been in steady decline (I'm in my grammar remix era) ever since lol.

The Chinese sentence was:

猫上辈子可能是集装箱，但是发现这个的你，上辈子一定是个起重机

Literal (~word for word):

Cat last life possibly is/was shipping container, but discover this [’s] you, last life definitely is/was a crane

My translation:

The cat may have been a shipping container in a past life, but the you who discovered this was definitely a crane before

If anything, the thing that I recall debating when translating was whether or not use "before" or repeat "in a past life", which would have been more accurate but, in my opinion, more repetitive in English in a way that it doesn't come across in Chinese.

"The you who discovered this" is pretty much the direct translation of 发现这个的你, and preserves the spirit of the original syntax.

I suppose if I wanted to translate the Chinese in an alternative way, without "the you who discovered this", it would've just been:

The cat may have been a shipping container in past life, but that you were able to discover this means that in a past life, you were definitely a crane

But the above loses some of the whimsy of the original comment, which is why I would not have gone with it, if that makes sense!

Conspiracy theory I didn't come up with: Part of why Hollywood is so weird with Looney Tunes and Muppets is that they resent the voice work involved. Even dumbass execs know you need Kermit to sound like Kermit and Daffy to sound like Daffy and they HATE that they can't just recast them with some random celebrity.

HMMMMM… i unfortunately don’t know enough about the Muppets to throw my two cents in there, but with LT—i both see where you’re going with this and somewhat object at the same time.

i guess my point i’m about to bring up just as much proves you right, but they DID get away with some celeb stunt casting with Space Jam 2 (lol) thanks to Zendaya and Gabriel Iglesias. and hell even going back to TLTS, you have Kristen Wiig and Fred Armisen… Frank Gorshin voices Daffy in Superior Duck.. so there IS the fair share of celeb stunt casting with these characters, which i guess does in a way sort of prove your point, but to me still makes me think it’s not entirely it

one of my biggest complaints with modern LT revivals IS, however, that they never seem to write the characters with Mel Blanc in mind. i realize the man has been dead for 35 years and we obviously can’t raise him back, but the originals were so often written to cater to his voice talents and his quirks and his specificities, and while you have incredibly talented voice actors like Eric Bauza or Bob Bergen or Jeff Bergman or Joe Alaskey (RIP), the one little ingredient missing from their deliveries is because they aren’t written with Mel in mind. Mel’s involvement is just as important to the characters and their personalities as the directors and writers and animators

which leads me to my next point in that i just think that nobody understands the Looney Tunes characters, simple as. they don’t! they are not some big happy family à la the Muppets, who, in turn, are not some big happy family. likewise they are not mindless drones who drop anvils and blow each other up and repeat the same 2 bits over and over and over again. i don’t think Space Jam 2’s ineptitude is a product of execs losing their minds over the inability to stunt cast—i just think you don’t know your Looney Tunes if you’re going to genuinely play up a Bugs Bunny death scene as a sincere, heart felt moment. come on!!!!!

i still think a lot about the excerpt in Jerry Beck’s 100 Greatest LT Shorts book where one of the contributors—whose name escapes me—had a WB exec tell him in the ‘90s that nobody likes Porky because “people don’t like pigs”, and his quip in the book was “well, i’m people and i like pigs!”. likewise the whole political correctness bit in Back in Action is true to life! the Speedy complaint surprises me less but the whole “first they tell me to lose the stutter, then they tell me i’m not funny” actually happened! WB hasn’t known what to do with these characters for half a century at this point and it’s unfortunately nothing new. i wish it were just a matter of grievances at celebrity voice casting, but i really do think it’s just because nobody knows how the hell to characterize or approach the characters.

likewise, that is very much by design. the original run is lightning in a bottle. its brilliance is the product of so many ultra specific circumstances and benefits and histories and trial and error that you just can’t really replicate. i mean, you can, but even with the most meticulous studying and planning and adaptation and mathematical calculations and all that other jargon, even if you put all that into your work… you’re still not Chuck Jones with Chuck Jones’ life experience, you’re not Bob Clampett with Bob Clampett’s life experience, not Friz Freleng, not Bob McKimson, not Frank Tashlin…

i am a loud proponent of thinking that honoring these characters correctly and accurately and respectfully is possible. i think it can be done. i think it is possible to study all of the quirks of the directors, of the writers, the animators, the characters, how the characters talk and walk and play off of each other, how the directorial tone is dictated. you have to be a complete nut to do it, but i think it’s possible. but that just goes back to the original question of: well… why try and make carbon copies of the originals when the originals are right there? (which, i admit, is another question that i myself get huffy about and am like “just because!!!! why not!” but i can’t act like i can fully deny it either. it’s a valid question.)

ANYWAY. i just went on a huge tangent, some of which is completely unrelated to your ask and your point so MY APOLOGIES! i do think you have something there, but i really do think the main perpetrator is just a lack of understanding and awareness. or, we do have adaptations that show potential and they aren’t given the light of day to be realized and help set the course a little because we need to think of our tax write-offs first. god forbid!

sugar rush 2022: part two

Hello everyone! it’s that time of the year where I round-up the candies brought to us from July-December 2022. I have purposely added ones that captured the eyes of fans. I have also included some good old cpn archaeology I posted during these months in the mix. It’s been a good year, filled with ups and downs for the boys and this fandom but our original intention remains the same. to support them the best way we can and keep em safe. What we noticed is GG has a hidden weibo post that appeared around the same time Web was online. We CPN that GG posted something in private just for them. We don’t know at this point what their schedule is but there is some chance of them meeting. It was a quiet birthday on Yibo’s part because of Political tensions.

Well I forgot to put their part.....Hmmmmm....it's just I have so many things I also want to show you....

Okay so here the lore origin's story about K ability to sew and create outfits. Yes the rabbit was Mister Crewel's apprentice at some point in her life!

During this special fairy gala, Mister Crewel was asked by the fairy (tiny fairies not Briar Valley) kingdom to provide some fashion show, and wonderful outfits! And as good exchange benefits, Divus took K for sewing's help and let Sam go to the Gala (since K is Sam's familiar).

The whole plot is actually based on Dior Autumn collection 2020/21~

Rogues playing DnD: Classes

I fully admit that this is based on my limited experience of DnD, mainly through season 1 of Vox Machina, The Gamers 2: Dorkness Rising and FrasierDnD Twitter, specifically this. I also used to play The Dark Eye from which I steal aspects. And WoW

Piper: DungeonMaster

He brings them together. They call him a nerd for it, but it sounds like fun so they all join in. But while Piper is the most experienced as of now, he hasn't played since college and wasn't the dungeon master, he isn't 100% in control and improvises a lot. At first he tries to keep them on the story path but learns to relax and let go. He used to have a high level bard in college and frequently uses that character's relatives as npcs.

James: hmmmmm

In the Dark Eye there were classic fae changelings. Fae could take a child and leave a changeling in its wake. And you could then play as the child that was taken which grew up in the fae realm, learn magic and becomes fae-like (If I remember correctly). James would play a character but never actually clarify whether he was the original character or the changeling pretending to be him.

Or I go with my initial answer and say that he roleplays as someone who does not fit into the world of DnD (as I once played a whole quest trying to be Indiana Jones). Half-elf...alledgedly

Mick: Monk....now

Mick's character became a monk later in life and starts as a veteran character (is that a thing in DnD?). Which means that he starts stronger but his character is old. He'd be a Dragonborn because they look badass. He is always super-prepared and carries endless supplies.

Mark: Wizard, elf or human

I hc Mark as someone who likes reading and not just Mark Twain, who was overshadowed by his gifted brother who was into natural sciences. He probably loves fantasy books but never engaged as a teen, wanting to appear tough. He has big ideas but hasn't read the rulebook too closely, just stories and wants to be a wizard who can do everything, mainly throw fireballs at people. Piper has to remind him frequently that he can't do the thing he just announced he was going to do. "I cast Firestorm!" "Do you know the spell?" "No?" "What about your spell slots?" "My what?"

Roscoe: Artificer, human

He sticks to what he knows best so he essentially plays himself. BUT he has read the rulebook twice and has become a rule's lawyer. He often thinks outside of the box but sometimes gets bigged down by what the numbers say are possible and what's a good story. He'd try a peasant railgun.

Lisa: Rogue, tiefling

Skintight leather? Check. Awfully sharp knives? Check. Steal absolutely EVERYTHING? Check. Often gets the party into trouble with her antics. "Can I roll to steal the crown?" "Seeing as its currently on the king's head, he's looking at you and is surrounded by his royal guard....no." She'd play tiefling, sexy as hell.

Digger: Barbarian, half-orc or orc

Digger junior, his character's name, will fight everyone, drink everything and then fight everyone again. He is legendary in bar brawls. His secret goal is to be the brawler like no ever ever was. Fighting's his real test, drinking is his cause. Digger jr is Digger unfiltered which you'd think was impossible.

Len: Druid, elf

He was blackmailed into attending at first (but secretly has fun) and plays a druid, almost exclusively in bear form (assuming that's possible, I' drawing on my WoW knowledge). His favorite trick is making people think he's a regular bear and only reveals himself when it's funny. Has written a couple of bear puns, but is afraid to use them unless he's a little drunk.

Sam: Bard! And a woman!

Charisma, charisma and charisma! He needs everyone to know that he is the most beautiful lady of all the land. And his character doesn't get her hands dirty, she stays outside and keeps inspiring the party. In ideal circumstances anyway, she has mace (an actual mace) when things get tough.

Roy: Warlock, Tiefling.

Roy strives to become an eldritch entity himself, possibly by killing his patron. At least he's not giving up his soul. He draws the most beautiful character portraits between rounds.

So 'Ethan' is Hebrew name, and means 'firm, strong, and enduring'. Our persevering protagonist. Fitting huh?

'Donna' is Italian, meaning 'Lady' or 'woman'. If it's 'Don', that's for male, meaning 'Lord' or 'gentleman' winkwonk. It says at wiki that the surname 'Beneviento' came from the Italian town, 'Benevento', which means 'good wind'.

'Salvatore'. Italian origin name. Means 'saviour'. It's theorized that his family were doctors, so makes sense. 'Moreau' is from old French! Means 'dark-skinned'.

Now 'Karl'...... very ironic name. And I am nothing if not a lover for ironies. Because that's german name meaning 'free man'. His surname is pretty interesting too, because, you see, 'Eisenberg' means 'Iron Mountain'. His boss battle winkwonk. 'Berg' means mountain. 'Heißen' could mean 'Hot' or 'to call'. Hot mountain. Fucking volcano amirite.

Rosemary, the herb, it symbolizes remembrance. Put it on the coffin, and it means the memory of the deceased shall never fade. It also means honoring the fallen.

Oh would you look at that? Hebrew origin of 'Bela' means 'devouring' or 'destructive'! Czech origin says 'white'. Well she is quite pale. And very hungry.

'Daniela' means, 'God is my judge'.

'Cassandra'? 'The one who shines and excels over men'. Loud and clear Cassie.

You know the big lycan with hammer? Uriaş? Yeah his name is Romanian. It means 'huge' or 'giant'.

Vâlcolac is Romanian for werewolf, Moroaică and Samcă are both from folklore, and Cadou is Romanian for 'gift'. Yeah some gift it is.

And that's about it. I'm loving all these symbolism. Intentional or not, it makes writing so much better.

walk with me. i think mike's dyslexic and that's where a lot of his troubles with school started. because he genuinely struggled with reading and just got treated like an idiot for it and eventually just gave up. i also think he gets his teeth whitened.

foggy. it's just too funny. why did he walk into foggy's office and hold him at gunpoint while insulting his vest unprovoked? why did foggy have little-to-no reaction to getting taken hostage and dragged across town by Real Boy Mike Murdock? he was just mad mike broke his window. foggy's tolerance for insane bullshit is incomprehensibly high

one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more

matt, actually. he's only interacted with matt a handful of times (naturally, as he has like 1.5 appearances), but it's always been tense or sad or outwardly hostile (on matt's end). i want to see them just talk to each other without matt being a bitch about it

one (or more) headcanon(s) i have that involve them and one other character

after matt's accident mike took care of him a lot. naturally. but he noticed matt struggling with differentiating soaps, finding the right buttons on things, etc So he just stuck a bunch of googly eyes everywhere. but he did not tell matt they were googly eyes and to this day matt does not know and mike thinks he's soooooooooooo funny.

For the Bucket - I used filters! I think it was contour (layer set on overlay 23%) and stereo in infinite painter. They added a lot!

(THE DESCRIPTION FOR THIRD ONE IS KILLING ME he reminds me now of that one white dude in grassy place looking at u and I think people corelate it with 'I had to do it to them'. The fourth one is the Bucket walking with adventure line on the desert. Plot related thing >:) I hope I'll get motivation to talk about their plot like I did with Jester's overall Parable)

You'd yoink the full body around but if you try hard enough, you can yonk the Bucket off from it. For a moment, the body still will look normal and even the Bucket will be able to control it but then, the clothes would fall down on the ground.

*looks at this buckets story* I'd advise you kot to court it. Buuuuuut know it would like you courtering it. It's used to it, as the Reasurrance Bucket <3

Ok, I got it.

So the Batch is a special forces group......it is sometimes funny but honestly, more often than not now, it makes me a little annoyed and rolling of eyes when I see so many fics, posts etc knocking them like "oh, how on earth did they ever accomplish anything without Echo, Omega etc" "Crosshair was their entire team, they can't do anything without him." "Oh, Cross and Hunter act like children and fight each other and parent Echo has to break them up"

They're completely missing the point.

Watching the Batch at their debut? They were flawless. They fought better than a well oiled machine together. The point of all their mess ups was they were USED to working as a TEAM. An integral member of the Batch left and trying to compensate for a lost limb? There's going to be problems. We're seen the problematic side but didn't get too much insight to how they were before, but the tell us they were legendary. We have to infere that this isn't normal for them to botch things up badly. Also, they pull off things no one else has, so that isn't botching anything. Cid even calls them her best people. And she don't compliment so that meant she meant it. As far as Echo being the only responsible one, again, they have a system for what works for their personalities. Hunter and Crosshair fight it out because that's how they handle it, then they're good. Before this, you have to infer, nothing like this ever came between them like this. They would never have acted like this before, and Echo wasn't an original Batcher so his wounds wouldn't be the same as someone who's grown up with each other.

Canon Batch with Hunter as the leader, Crosshair the obviously favorite youngest, Tech the nerd who has feelings but lots of thoughts, and Wrecker with intensive knowledge but a lovely childlike heart. Then Echo, who is a leader but respects his sergeant's command but challenges him like a brother.

25. Common fandom complaint you're sick of hearing

Ok, *takes a deep deep inhale* Are you sure you want this? Are you sure you're ready for this? Ok. SO.

I am SO sick and freakn tired of all the Hunter vs. Crosshair drama. Oh. My. Goodness. For one, they are trying to make up themselves so I think we as the fans can try to get along now? For goodness sakes? I'm so tired of seeing Crosshair fans and Hunter fans at each other's throats. I'm a Hunter girlie, no doubt about it, but that doesn't mean I can't be objective and know Hunter has some things he needs to sort through. And Crosshair does indeed have problems. That being said....I'm tired of hearing people say Hunter should have done more, that he doesn't care, that he has no character development and that Omega is his entire personality. I'm tired of hearing about everything he's done to fail everybody and how everyone else in the Batch is better than he is. He's always getting compared to in the worst ways possible and some of them aren't even fair or even canon compliant to his personality. I even saw one person say he had no problem leaving anyone behind and he didn't care about it.

Honestly, I do want some more from him as well to see how he's grown but being the leader, he's stuck! I'm a middle child, true, but I'm the oldest girl. Being the oldest girl is kinda like being the oldest in a way. When you're the one who's responsible for everyone, it hits a lot harder when things happen. When you get to make decisions just to make decisions it is TOTALLY different than when YOU HAVE to make decisions for your family. I want him to be decisive, and I want them to show him be a little more proactive but I know that'll come with the story. Of course he's going to be cautious of Crosshair because he was hurt. Hurts that run that deep are hard to heal! Plus he's now looking out for and defending Crosshair......oh, it's not enough for some people. Well, guess what, Hunter is standing up for his brother but has enough respect for him and trust him to handle his own situations too. He respected Crosshair to handle certain situations in a way he'd be comfortable doing it.

In short, can't we pleeeeeaaaasssseeeee move past "well, Hunter's a failure" "well, Crosshair is horrible!" Hunter said it himself, all they can try to do is be better.

Trust me, I kept this short. I could go on for a while about this topic. I know I could get murdered for saying some of this buuuuuuut there it is XD and not as well put as I was thinking :D Oh well, my vomited thoughts on the topic XD
