2, 6, and 9 for the ask meme
Catch me forgetting I queue'd an ask meme, lol!
2. What fanfic do you wish you got more response on?
Ooooh, that's a good question. I don't think there's any ONE FIC that I'm like, "I wish more people read this". HOWEVER!!!
I do wish more people would read Into the Unknown, Together - because it's a Figure Skating AU, and there's AMAZING art I commissioned for it, and it's just a short little one-shot I had a ton of fun with! Figure Skating AUs are my beloved (which is why I'm writing another, lol), and I want everyone to read them!
6. Have you written any fanfictions featuring OCs? If so, elaborate!
Hehehehe. Plenty of my Shadowhunters fans will remember the joking game of "Spot the Oberon!" that showed up after I introduced him in a fic! (Have I continued this game into Dreamling? Oh yes.)
To answer the question, yes!! Oberon and Qinemru, two of my OCs, who are quite beloved, have shown up in a number of fics. Dragon Wars (Dreamling fic) and The War for the Dreaming (Dreamling & massive crossover fic) being two of them. They're also main characters in a fic where they end up with Jace Wayland from Shadowhunters titled The Golden Trio - A Trinity of Trouble!
9. What’s your favorite line(s) or scene(s) that you have written?
Oh GOODNESS what a question.
Favourite Scenes (I'll stick with more recent fics so I don't go too far back): The Iceberg Scene in Make It Count, Hob's Dive into Dream's Heart from the Kingdom Hearts Crossover, Hob's Transformation Scene in Hopes and Dreams, The Art of Seduction via Longbow ORIGINAL demo, and... though I could pick a dozen more, when Hob walks through the gallery in A Dream Model!
Favourite Line: In Never Judge A Shadowhunter By Their Scent, there's a line that goes like this - Every step the omega took closer was a nail in the coffin that Magnus had built for himself by allowing the omega to stay for as long as he had.
In the context of the scene that line just HITS FUCKING HARD and I've always loved the poetic nature of it.
(Also every Dreamling love confession I've written, because I'm addicted to those.)
~!~

On the Tip of My Tongue
Shadowhunter Fan Fic - Hurt/Comfort Bingo Fill
This fic is a one-shot to fill a square on my Hurt/Comfort bingo card cas created by @sweetspicybingo
Prompt filled: it's not fair to recovery room
Fandom: Shadowhunters
Pairing: Jalec - Jace Wayland/Alec Lightwood
Rating: Mature (for violence)
“Jace!!! Nooo!!!” Alec dropped his bow and the arrow he was about to shoot as he watched Jace collapse to the ground, the warlock and his ravener demon were pulverized by Magnus’ magic but not before Jace had been first stung by the demon’s poisoned tail to his shoulder and been blasted by a sickly green nearly opaque pulse of demon powered magic from the warlock who’d been brainwashed to do Valentine’s bidding.
It was the latest of Valentine’s series of passive-aggressive and increasingly less subversive attacks on the New York Institute and the Clave by extension. Alec himself went down as his legs went out from under him with the agonizing pain that raced through him via his bond with Jace. It wasn’t fair that Jace was getting hurt all the time, he protected both Clary, the cup and by extension the entire Downworlder population with stubborn conviction which only left in harm's way time and time again.
He crawled the last few feet, so that he could cradle Jace’s head in his lap, wrap protective arms around him and whisper encouragement to stay awake, to not give in. The spark in Jace’s beautiful multi-colored eyes was dulling and he could sense Jace fading through the bond.
The blond shadowhunter held on to Alec’s arms that embraced him to then look up into those gorgeous hazel eyes and with barely any sound to it said: “I love you too.” before he passed out.
The beeping was annoying and incessant but somehow he knew he needed to not ignore it, as his mind and body came back online. Jace went through what felt like quicksand to try and claw his way up to a fully awake state. When he opened his eyes, everything was blurry at first, but came into focus slowly as he took in the darkened room he was in.
The beeping was a heart-rate monitor beside his bed; he recognized the room as one of the recovery rooms at the New York Institute. He racked his brain for how he had gotten here but came up blank. The last thing he remembered was a flash of green and searing pain in his left shoulder and Alec’s concerned hazel eyes above him and then nothing but blackness until now.
He looked down from his half seated position and saw the blood transfusion needle stuck in the back of his hand along with another in his arm to administer a bag of clear liquids. His shoulder was bandaged he could just see the dark gray material poke out from underneath the navy blue hospital gown he was wearing.
His hand that wasn’t doubling as a pin cushion, was loosely covered by Alec’s, who had fallen asleep, his head resting on the bed beside Jace’s hip. He looked beautiful and peaceful in sleep. Gently Jace pulled his hand out from under his and carded his fingers gently through the shock of unruly black hair, and could feel his parabatai push into the gentle touch. Jace wanted him so much more than he could ever admit out loud, especially after finding out that Alec felt the same way. The words had been at the tip of his tongue ever since that catastrophic memory demon experience a few weeks back. However, Jace also knew that Valak had taken that memory from Alec so who knew if he even still felt the love that he had so unwillingly disclosed in front of all of them as it had floated towards the memory demon.
Alec slowly opened his eyes, he was sleep-drunk and rather adorably rubbed his eyes before he looked up at Jace who regarded him with a gentle smile.
“Hey there, brother.”
“How are you feeling?”
“Like I’ve been blasted by errant magic and stung by a demon?” Jace tried to laugh but winced when the motion pulled the wound on his shoulder.
“Hey take it easy, funny guy. Do you remember what happened?”
“I remember the warlock aiming at me and that ravener demon appearing out of nowhere. I’ve never seen a warlock with a ravener familiar. It was a very strange thing to see. And then I saw you crouching over me, encouraging me to stay awake before I passed out.”
As Jace said this he recalled vividly and with utmost certainty that what he had said to Alec, seeing his parabatai’s face fall was all the proof he needed.
“Anything else you recall?”
“Yeah, only just now though; I love you Alec, been wanting to say it since the Valak incident but too afraid to. The curse, our bond. I was worried it would change everything but I love you in the way that I shouldn't but I can’t deny it.”
Alec kissed him then, a soft tender meeting of their lips, the touch between them was electric and it made their bond thrum with increased intensity and connectedness, as the link between solidified infinitely more and it couldn’t feel more right to either of them.

The One Where You’re Drunk
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jace Wayland x Reader
Summary: Completely drunk during girl’s night with Isabelle and Clary, you’re dared to sneak into Jace’s room and tell him how you really feel about him.
A/N: it’s been a while but here’s one i’ve been saving!
MASTERLIST (mobile and desktop) (you can like it and save it for later!)
“Okay, kiss, marry, kill,” you say. Isabelle and Clary nod.
“Jace, Simon, Alec.”
“Ew, Alec is my brother y/n!” Isabelle frowns in disgust.
“And Jace is mine,” Clary says distastefully.
You sigh.
“Okay, Simon, Meliorn and Aldertree.”
“Aldertree? Really?” Clary shoots you a pointed look.
“You guys suck at this game,” you sigh.
“Maybe that because we’re not little teenage girls,” Isabelle laughs, “Well, maybe you still are.”
You flip her off, rolling your eyes as you rest your head in her lap, “I think we need more booze.”
“I think you’ve had enough,” Isabelle says, scrunching up her nose when your burp.
You pout, trying to reach for a half full bottle without moving. She moves It away from you.
“Why don’t you answer since you’re not related to anyone in the Institute? Jace, Simon or Alec?”
You rub your chin thoughtfully – not that there was even anything to think about. It was Jace. It would always be Jace. But that was something that was hard to admit to yourself, let alone to Clary and Isabelle.
“Well, Simon is dating Clary last I checked and Alec is dating Magnus…”
“So Jace?” Isabelle giggles, “I think the two of you would be cute.”
“Same,” Clary beams, “You’d be good for him.”
You blow air through your lips, waving a hand, “Jace treats me like I’m Alec but the girl version.”
“Well, Jace loves Alec,” Isabelle shrugs, “I don’t see how that’s a bad thing.”
“Because it’s not a sexual thing. He loves Alec but he’s not in love with him,” you say, “Jace may love me but not the way I want him to.”
“The way you want him to?” Isabelle asks with raised brows, moving hair away from your face as she looks down at you. You turn away from her and look at Clary.
“The way he loved you,” you say, your speech a little slurred.
You’d been so jealous. Clary had walked in and made Jace fall for her without even trying. And you were happy for him, really. You’d watched him be closed off his whole life and she made him feel again. But a part of you wished it had been you.
After you found out they were siblings, he returned to his usual string of flings and self-destructive behaviour and you, as always, stayed by his side as his best friend.
Clary shifts uncomfortably, “Don’t remind me,” she groans, pinching the bridge of her nose, “It’s still weird.”
“It’s a bit weird,” you giggle.
“Wait,” Clary says, sitting up, “Do you – do you like Jace?”
“N-no,” you stammer, “This is just hypothetical.”
She and Isabelle share a look before Isabelle pulls you up and props you up against the wall, “How drunk are you?” she asks.
You turn the bottle in your hand upside down to show her it’s empty and then laugh.
They both laugh, their faces filled with shared mischief – they knew it wouldn’t take much convincing to get you to do something stupid.
“It’s for her own good. Hers and Jace’s,” Isabelle justifies to Clary. Clary nods firmly.
Isabelle hands you the half full bottle and let’s you finish it.
“Are you gonna throw up?” she asks.
You wait a second before shaking your head. Sure, the room was spinning, but surely you weren’t going to vomit.
“Good,” she says rubbing her hands together, “Let’s play a game of truth or dare.”
“Dare,” you nod hazily.
“Go into Jace’s room and tell him you’re in love with him,” she says.
Truthfully, you guys didn’t get to have much fun around the Institute since Valentine had made his return. It was rare to have a girls night. It was even rarer to mess around like this as a Shadowhunter since you’d been taught to be disciplined. You didn’t get to giggle like little girls and do dares growing up.
Your eyes widen slightly but you try not to look fazed – you wandered if you were making a funny face since you were so drunk. In your right mind, you would’ve said ‘no way’ but it seemed like a promising idea. Something you’d laugh about in the morning.
“Deal,” you nod. They both look surprised.
Isabelle pulls you up from the ground and leads you to through door and out into the hallway. You all pause outside Jace’s door – tyring to stifle your laughter.
“Go,” Clary hisses, nudging you.
You slowly twist the door knob. A line of light illuminates his room before you pull the door shut behind you, only to realize you can’t see.
You hold your hands out in front of you until they come into contact with something that clatters to the floor with a loud smashing sound.
A lamp turns out and you look toward it to find Jace staring at you in confusion. He climbs out of bed, wearing slim fit sweatpants and no shirt. You’d seen him shirtless millions of times – you’d even been pinned under him that way during training – but while you were drunk, it made your cheeks flush and your skin tingle.
“Y/N?” he mumbles, walking over and running his fingers through his hair.
You look down at the floor – broken glass and a photo frame with a picture of the two of you in it.
“I’m so sorry,” you sigh, kneeling down and beginning to pick up the shards. You don’t stop even when one of them cuts into your palm.
“Stop,” he says, pulling you up and walking you across his room into the bathroom, carefully dusting your palms into the sink.
“Are you drunk?” he asks, inhaling sharply. You smelled like a bar.
“Sorry,” you apologize, biting down on your lip.
He shakes his head with a grin, “Sit,” he says, pointing to the toilet, “Let’s get that cleaned up,” he points to the bloody cut in your palm.
You sit on top of the counter next to the sink, letting your legs dangle and watching as he reaches for the top of the cabinet and pulls out a first aid kit.
You knew you could’ve just used your healing rune but Jace had done this for you since you were kids – anytime you got a small cut or graze, he’d pull out a first aid kit and treat it himself. The way your mother did before she passed away. Jace was all you had growing up.
He pulls out an alcohol wipe and then a cotton swab, dabbing at it slowly.
“I take it girls night is what left you this way?” he asks, concentrating on your hand.
“Maybe,” you say, dragging the word out.
He laughs, shaking his head and looking you in the eye, “Did you leave because you missed me?” he asks, unscrewing the cap of the rubbing alcohol. He tilts it carefully, not wanting to get too much on you.
“I left because I wanted to tell you I’m in love with you,” you blurt out. He squeezes the bottle too hard, clamouring away from you when it spills all over your legs. He stares at you with wide eyes, frozen.
“S-sorry,” he mumbles, grabbing a towel and wiping your legs down. You place a hand over his, letting it rest on your lap, “It’s okay.”
It felt so good to be close to him. It felt so good to say those words knowing that tomorrow you wouldn’t remember them and that you could just say it was a dare of play it off as being drunk. It felt good to be honest and to admit it – to him and to yourself.
His face was so close to yours.
“It’s okay,” you say again, resting your forehead against his.
“You’re drunk,” he says, drawing a line that you so badly wanted to cross. He pulls away from you, resting his hands on your knees with a slight frown, his eyes studying you. He reaches into the first aid box and pulls out a band aid, placing it across the cut.
“You should get back to your room,” he says firmly.
You slide off the sink, feeling your chest tighten. This had all been a mistake.
You walk back into his room, hesitating at the door. He walks up behind you, “I’ll see you in the morning y/n,” he says softly, “Drink some water before you sleep.”
You didn’t want to go. You didn’t want to leave things this way.
You turn around, resting yours hands against his chest and moving them up to his shoulders. You stand on your tip toes and lean in closer to him, praying he wouldn’t pull away.
He doesn’t.
He rests his hands on your waist and pulls you closer to him, pressing his lips to yours, the sound of your breathing filling the room.
“Y/N,” he mutters, pulling away, “I – I shouldn’t have – you’re drunk… I’m-“
“I love you Jace,” you say. You had no other words. You didn’t know how to explain it to him or how to tell him how you were feeling. You knew it was an overwhelming thing to say. Maybe it was too much, but it was all you had.
He just stares at you in frustration.
You’d done a lot of stupid things while you’d been drunk and none of them had meant anything to you. Was he just one of those things?
Or did you really love him?
He thinks about how you’ll have no memory of this in the morning because of the state you were in.
“I-I’m gonna go get you something to eat so you can sober up and we can… talk about this,” he says. That was probably the best course of action. He didn’t want to blow you off and pretend this never happened.
You nod, watching him leave. It’s only then you get the urge to throw up.
When you wake up, your head is resting on Jace’s toilet seat. You groan in disgust – at least your hair was tied up.
“You wouldn’t let me move you.”
You turn your head slightly to find Jace slumped against the wall. You stand up and a blanket falls to the floor that had been over your shoulders.
“How are you feeling?”
“Probably not as bad as I should,” you say, rubbing your temples. You had hoped you wouldn’t remember last night but it was right there, front and centre, on your mind.
You could tell he was thinking about it too but the way his jaw was tensed.
You look over his shoulder at the broken glass still in the middle of his room.
“I’ll clean that up,” you say. You felt terrible.
You’d thrown up and passed out on the toilet and now you had to have ‘the talk’ completely sober -without any excuse for your actions or what you say.
“Can we talk about last night?” he asks, getting straight to the point.
You nod, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear and then crossing your arms over your chest.
“You said you were in love with me and then we kissed,” he says with a pointed look, trying to gage whether you remembered or not. You nod with a guilty look on your face and in return, he looks mildly relieved.
“What was that about?” he asks, “Were you just drunk-“
“No,” you say quickly, “Look, Jace – I mean, yes I was drunk. It was a dare.”
“A dare?” he frowns, disappointed.
“Isabelle dared me to do it because I basically told her I liked you and you didn’t like me back,” you rest your head against the wall, “It was the first time I wasn’t scared to tell you how I felt.”
“Are you scared now?” he asks.
You nod, swallowing hard, “I’m scared, Jace, but I’m still in love with you. And I’m glad last night happened and that I can’t take it back.”
“Are you sober now?” he asks with an exhilarated look.
You nod. With one step, he’d standing inches away from you and pulling you into him. He was kissing you so hard you could barely breathe. You smile against his lips, pulling away for air.
“I love you so much, y/n. I barely slept last night thinking you’d sober up this morning and regret that kiss or worse, forget it. I was scared you’d tell me you have no feelings for me. Because I love you,” he sighs, taking your hands in his, “And I want this for us. I always have.”
“You’re a real keeper,” you laugh.
“Why’s that?” he asks with a smirk.
“Because you’re kissing someone who spent the whole night throwing up,” you laugh, causing him to scrunch his nose up when he realizes.
He shrugs, “I don’t care,” he shakes his head with a wide smile, “I love you y/n.”

I Get to Marry Him
Read on AO3
Alec took a deep breath as he stood in front of the mirror in his office, smoothing his suit jacket around his hips. Flashes of preparing for his wedding to Lydia flew through his mind as he adjusted his tie so it was tight around the collar of his neck. He wasn’t sure when the last time he breathed this clearly was. The past few months felt like he was constantly under a cover of thick black smoke, filling his lungs until he couldn’t stand to take a deep breath in anymore. When he filled his lungs today, staring at the crisp suit in the mirror, it was like he was breathing in the fresh ocean air. The happiness that flooded through his body was overwhelming. He heard the door behind him open and caught his sister’s teary eyed gaze in the mirror.
“Izzy, it’s my wedding. I’m supposed to be the one crying.” Izzy nodded, wiping her fingers underneath her eyes to try and dry the tears that kept on spilling. “You’re going to ruin your makeup.” He reasoned with her, turning away from the mirror to face her. Izzy placed a hand over her mouth at the sight of her brother and another round of tears fell from her eyes.
“I just want to take this moment to say ‘I told you so’, big brother.” Alec tilted his head questioningly, reaching out to wipe away a few of her fallen tears that she was starting to control. Izzy reached out to smooth her hands over his tie, placing it perfectly in it’s spot. “A few months ago I told you, ‘one day, someone is going to love you heart and soul’. Do you remember that?” Alec choked up a little, nodding his head as he rested his hands on his sister’s shoulders. “Magnus loves you more than I ever imagined possible. I can’t believe you’re getting married today!” Izzy squealed and Alec couldn’t help but pull her into a tight hug, his arms encasing her small shoulders as her head burrowed in his neck.
“I don’t know what I would do without you, Iz. Thank you for being there for me through everything.” Izzy nodded into his shoulder, pushing him back slowly to take a look at him one more time. She nodded again just as another knock sounded on the door. It was open, but the visitor didn’t want to ruin the moment. Izzy sighed, pulling fully away from her brother.
“Can I interrupt?” Jace asked softly, walking up towards his siblings and placing a comforting hand on Izzy’s shoulder. Another sob erupted from Izzy’s lips, this time mixed with laughter at her reaction.
“I promise I’ll keep it together at the wedding, I swear!” Alec laughed and kissed her forehead gently, pushing her towards the door.
“Go see Magnus. Tell him I love him, will you?” Izzy nodded, the most loving look in her eyes. She sent one last glance at her brother before practically skipping out the door. Jace pulled Alec over to the cluster of chairs, taking a seat and motioning for him to do the same.
“So, today’s the day?” Alec nodded in response, not able to keep the grin off his lips. “I remember asking you a few months ago if you were sure this is what you wanted. Marrying Lydia.” Alec looked up at his brother and caught the glint in his eyes. “I’m not going to ask you that right now because it’s written all over your face how much you want this.” Alec sighed happily, running his fingers through his hair. Magnus had insisted it be at least a little styled for the occasion so the motion didn’t move it much.
“I’ve never been more ready for anything in my life, Jace. When I was going to marry Lydia, I had assumed I’d never find what I have with Magnus. I was so stuck with what the Clave wanted and what they would accept, I never took the chance to accept myself. The greatest thing that’s happened to me in my life was learning to accept who I am. And accept that Magnus is it for me. He is it for me, Jace. I can feel it.” Alec had never been a talker. He preferred eye rolls and glares to get the job done for him. But sitting here with Jace, getting ready to marry the love of his life, he couldn’t think enough to shut himself up. “And Magnus chose me, Jace. Some repressed Shadowhunter who messes up every day and tried so hard to push him away.” He took a deep breath, still not believing those words were true.
“He loves you.” Jace said simply, fiddling with the tie around his neck. Alec sighed again, pushing himself up so he was standing as he started pacing around the room.
“On our first date, Magnus told me he’d been with 17,000 people. 17,000! That fact alone almost had me running for the hills. But I turned to look at him and I didn’t care how many people he’d been with. I only cared about being the person he was with right then. 17,000 people and he’s never been married. Did you know that?” Jace was leaning back in his chair now, shaking his head and attempting to contain his laughter as his brother droned on and on.
“Never?” He responded, urging Alec to continue. Alec’s eyes widened as his breathing started picking up.
“Never. None of those people saw exactly what he was worth. Which at this point, I don’t care because that means I get to give Magnus something he never thought he could have. I get to marry him. Marriage at the Institute between a Shadowhunter and a warlock. Did you think this would ever happen? With me especially?” He stopped for a moment, not waiting for a response from Jace. “I thought for the longest time I’d be lusting after my parabatai for the rest of my life. I thought I was unlovable and then Magnus happened. Magnus swooped in with his wavy hands and cat eyes and beautiful face and amazing body…” Jace cleared his throat at that, pushing Alec out of his thoughts. “I’m panicking. Why am I panicking? Why did you let me talk so much?” Jace finally let his laughter leave his lips, leaning over to clutch his parabatai rune.
“Alec, you’re about to marry your soulmate. If you weren’t panicking, I would be shocked.” He stood up to walk next to his brother, clapping a firm hand on his shoulder. “Magnus is pacing back and forth in your room, wondering if you’ll back out before this wedding happens.”Alec’s eyes widen as he made a beeline towards the door. When he pried open the door, he saw his mother standing on the other side.
“Cat was right about you both trying to see each other before the wedding.” Alec blushed, running his hand along the back of his neck.
“I’ll go tell him you’re ready.” Jace gave his mother a kiss on the cheek before walking out the door and turning down the hallway.
“You know, Magnus tried to do the same thing not five minutes ago. I assured him I’d come make sure you wouldn’t be a ‘runaway groom’ as he put it.” She raised her eyebrows at her son as a bought of laughter fell from his lips. Alec sat back on the chair he’d taken previously, his hands running up and down his thighs. Maryse sat across from him, taking one of his in her own. She squeezed it tightly before taking a deep breath in and making eye contact with her son.
“Mom? Are you okay?” Alec placed his unoccupied hand on top of hers as he leaned forward to try and read her expression. There was still a part of Alec that assumed his mother was disappointed in this marriage. He couldn’t help but think this was the moment she would let him know what she really thought.
“Alec, I’m so proud of you.” The quick intake of Alec’s breath was unstoppable as he heard those words. “You fought so hard for everything you wanted in life. You fought for Jace to become part of our family and your parabatai, you fought for Izzy when the Clave was looking for someone to blame, you fought for your rightful place as Head of this Institute. The most important thing you fought for was being able to love Magnus as openly as you do.” Alec felt the tears cascading down his cheek as his mother reached up to wipe them away with her thumbs.
“Mom…” Alec was speechless as his sobs overtook his body. He grasped onto his mother’s shoulders, pulling her into the tightest hug he could manage. He felt his mother shaking in his arms and pushed her back slightly to look at her face. “All I ever wanted was to make you proud. I was so worried you would come in here and tell me not to go through with this wedding.” He admitted, eliciting a gasp from his mother’s lips. She slapped his shoulder lightly, wiping his tears once more.
“Remember that I’m the one who gave him the Lightwood family ring when you decided to break up with him!” Alec laughed through his sobs, squeezing onto his mother’s shoulders tightly. “I will spend the rest of my life proving to you and your husband how much I love you both.” She nodded in sync with Alec, moving her hands to wipe at her own tears. “I am so proud of you for taking this incredible step and I’m eternally grateful that you and Magnus have accepted me back into your lives after everything I put you through.” She placed a finger over Alec’s lips as he went to protest. “Don’t you dare say anything to the contrary, Alec. Now, it’s time for both of us to stop crying. We have a wedding to attend.” Maryse got up to walk Alec to the door but stopped at the soft knock that sounded through the office. “Just in time.”
Alec remembered the day of his wedding with Lydia when he went to see Magnus. With a little magic and truth, Alec’s heart was beating faster, his skin was tingling, and he could barely catch his breath. The next time he felt that way was when he saw Magnus walk halfway down the aisle later that day. Right now, he felt like the world was about to fall out from underneath him. He could feel his heart pulsing against his chest, the breath pushing from his lungs, and a shiver flow through his entire body. Magnus stood there, looking sheepishly at Maryse.
“I couldn’t stay away.” Magnus spoke softly, letting his eyes glide over to Alec. As if the same thought burst through both their heads, they were on each other in a moment, Magnus’ arms wrapped around his waist while Alec’s clung to his shoulders. With a soft sob, Maryse left them alone.
“You’re here.” Magnus nodded into his neck, placing small kisses wherever he could reach. He kissed up Alec’s damp cheeks before pressing their lips together softly.
“I had to see you. I needed to know that…” Alec nodded, placing his lips back on Magnus’ once more. They kissed simply, lips gliding against one another, until they were both breathless. When they pulled away, they kept their foreheads together and basked in one another.
“I’m glad you’re here. It’s like you always know when I need you.” Magnus nodded against his head, keeping his eyes closed.
“And I’ll always be here when you do. Especially in…” Magnus glanced down at the watch adorning his wrist, his eyes widening slightly. “10 minutes!” Alec jumped back, smoothing out Magnus’ tie he had somehow come to grasp during their kiss. Magnus laughed, fixing the collar of Alec’s suit jacket and wiping a small amount of lip gloss off the other’s lips. “Are you ready to be my husband?” He whispered, taking Alec’s face in his hands one more time.
“Only if you’re ready to be mine, too.”

Alec walked into the loft and dropped his gear by the door. He sighed lightly as he rolled his shoulders to relieve some tension from the day. With war raging between shadowhunters and downworlders, things at the institute had been hellish. He was happy to finally be home.
“Mags,” He called, walking further into the loft. “You home.”
“I’ll be right out.”
The warlock’s voice floated from his study. Alec knew better than to disturb him while he was finishing up work, so he went over to the drink cart and starting pouring. He looked up when he heard footsteps coming down the hall.
Magnus looked as gorgeous as ever. His shirt fit tightly over his arms in a way that made Alec nearly drool. He pants were perfectly tailored over his shiny black shoes. His make up flawless, from the glitter above his eyes to the shimmering gloss painted on his lips. But there was something different about him today.
“Hey, you put the colors back in your hair.”
Magnus nodded, reaching for his drink. “I did.”
“I like it,” Alec walked closer to him. “It’s…sexy.”
Magnus smiled at him, sliding his hand up Alec’s arm and neck. “Sexy? Really?”
“Really,” Alec murmured, leaning a little closer. He saw Magnus start to smirk as he closed his eyes.
Magnus’s hand on his cheek brought their lips together in a soft kiss. Alec sighed softly as Magnus’s mouth moved against his own. He had been craving this all day, the feel of Magnus in his arms, solid and strong against his chest, the taste of his tongue, his hands on his body.
He wrapped his arms around the warlock’s waist, ready to draw him to the bedroom when the front door slammed open.
“Clary’s been kidnapped!” Jade shouted. Alec broke the kiss with a groan.
Of fucking course.

part 2
Author’s notes: Guys this one is so long! Sorry it’s a bit of a doozy. Thanks so much for reading! I appreciate all the positive feedback. It really makes my day.
Tumblr media
The noise of chattering woke me up. My mind woke up first, so I keep my eyes closed as I try to analyze my surroundings. I’m lying down on a bed and there are people close by, talking in whispers. The pain on my hands and my neck is gone, but there is a warm burn on my left forearm, it feels like someone put a hot cup of tea against my skin. A large whooshing sound forces my eyes open and I jump out of bed, ready to defend myself from the strangers around me. I trip over a pair of legs but strong arms grab me before I fall on the floor. I look up to see the same people from the shipyard looking at me with curiosity and the man that sits on my bed smiles. He is of Asian descent but his eyes were yellow, like a cat, and blue fog is coming out of his fingertips. He must have noticed my gawking because he laughed and shook his head towards me.
“If those big eyes become any bigger, I swear they will swallow us all. My name is Mangus Bane, I’m here to help you remember your past. Now sit, before you trip and hurt yourself again.” The man extends his hands and I take them willingly, his eyes seem trustworthy enough.
“Where am I?” I ask as I look down at myself, I’m wearing new clothes and they certainly aren’t mine, I don’t wear this much black. My attention is drawn to the burning sensation on my forearm and I look at it, someone had tattooed my forearm without my consent.
“What the hell?” I yell angrily while trying to rub the mark off my skin. “You tattooed me? Is this some kind of cult?”
“Relax biscuit. This is…sort of a cult, but a very interesting one.” The man smirks and winks at me as he traces his index finger along my forearm. I feel a tingling sensation in my blood and my veins start to glow white. Then everything happened at once.
I was suddenly standing in the middle of a flower field, there was a young woman in front of me, holding a baby and rocking it back and forth as she hums a lullaby. I recognize the song as being Lavender Blue, my fathers used to sing it to me when I was little. I am then pulled backwards and I am now standing in the same field, but this time a little boy with blonde hair was carrying a toddler on his back, they were running through the flower fields. The scene changes again, the two children were a bit older now, and they were sitting under a tree. The boy was holding a long-chained necklace and was placing around the girls’ neck. I recognize the necklace instantly, the amber was unmistakable, it’s my necklace, the one currently in my purse. I fell back on the bed and stared at the mark on my forearm.
“Are you alright?” The girl with long black hair looks at me.
“Ever since I was a child I’ve been seeing strange things. People with other faces, flying creatures. My parents took me to see a psychologist and they diagnosed me of a delusional disorder when I was 8 years old. All my life I’ve been thinking I was crazy.”
“You’re not crazy. You just have the sight. You’re one of us.”
“I….This is all too much.Take me home please. I want to go home.”
The last time I saw the Shadowhunters was three weeks ago, when I demanded them to leave me alone. They have been true to their word, but I sense that they never really lost track of me ever since the events at the shipyard. Someone has been watching me, I can feel it.
"You'll like him. He's a really nice guy." Julia, my coworker says as she sits in front of me, eating her club sandwich.
"What did you say he does?" I look down at my bowl of soup, stirring it mindlessly.
"He's doing his doctoral residence at the New York Hospital.”
"Why would you think he'll like me?"
"Because he said you were hot." I laughed at Julia's words. The last thing I want right now is to go on a date, but a distraction from everything would be nice.
"Ok. I'll go on a date with him."
I stare at the mirror blankly, unimpressed by my reflection. I tried to dress up for the blind date but nothing seems to phase me. I look at my watch, 7:45. Andy, Artie, I couldn't remember his name, was picking me up at 8. I looked good, the short blue dress paired with a blazer and heels is my go-to first date outfit. It says, 'I look classy but I'm not trying to hard' and my red lip adds a tad bit of sexiness.
The time was now 9:10pm and my date has yet to come. With a sigh, I accept the fact that he stood me up and left my apartment. The air was chilly and my blazer was barely enough to keep me warm. With a sunken heart, I walk down the street, trying to distract myself from my bruised ego.
Long walks in the back alleys of New York City always gives me peace. I like seeing dodgy strangers hidden in the shadows and I suppose I like the danger of being in an unsafe environment. I guess it's part of what made me want to become a journalist.
I'm walking down a dimly lit street when I hear quick footsteps coming from behind me. I turn around to see who it is and a man wearing all black with a hood is walking fairly close to me. I increase my walk and so does he. With my heart racing, I turn the corner and bump into another hooded figure. Three more hooded figures jump down from the rooftop of a building and they surround me. I reach into my purse to grab my hand gun and shoot it to the sky. It doesn't seem to phase them because they continue to approach me.
"Stay back or I swear to god I'll shoot you dead." I say while I aim my gun towards one of them, my hand is shaking.
"A gun will not harm us Nephilim." One of them hisses. Nephilim? These men are from the shadow world.
"What do you want?" I scream at them.
"You seem to have caused quite a stir in the Downworld. Our leader has taken an interest to you ever since you decided to investigate his after-hours activities. Now he wants you for himself. The strange, long lost Shadowhunter princess."
Fear has now taken over my body. My adrenaline is skyrocketing and nothing around me seems real. When I was young my fathers enrolled me in Teak Kwon Do and forced me to learn how to use a baton. Living in New York City has made me aware of the dangers a single woman faces in everyday life, especially walking alone in the dark. I always carry two weapons in my purse with me at all times, a handgun and my baton.
I take out my baton from my bag and hold it to my side, ready to go down fighting. One of the men jumps towards me and with a quick side step, I swing at his head. I wasn't quick enough however because a moment later I was thrown over one man's shoulder, the wind has been knocked out of me and I'm too weak to fight.
"Let the girl go vampire." I hear a male voice say. There was a commotion behind me and the vampires were soon knocked out. I was lying face first on the road, unable to move because of the pain on my shoulder. A blonde boy from the shipyard squats beside me and flips me over gently. I cry out in pain as he looks at my shoulder, tracing my tender skin.
"Your shoulder is a bit bruised. Nothing a healing rune can’t fix." He whispers. He takes out a silver want looking device and runs it over the tattoo on my forearm. The tattoo glows red and I feel the pain on my shoulder slowly disappear.
With a load groan, I stand up and brush the dirt off my dress. The boy watches me intensely as I fiddle with my blazer and reach for my neck. I sigh in relief when I feel my lucky necklace still dangling in my neck.
"Thank you for saving my life. Again." I smile at him coyly.
"You like finding trouble, don't you?" He says dryly, almost annoyed. Is he annoyed at me? For what?
"I wasn't trying to find trouble, I was minding my own business." My voice becomes defensive and my words come out harsher than I intend.
"You were looking for trouble when you decided to walk around a bad part of the city at night.
"Were you following me?"
"I needed to make sure that you're safe."
"Have you been fallowing me for three weeks?"
"Like I said. You need to be protected. If I wasn't fallowing you those vampires would have taken you to their leader and you would be dead like those other women."
"Thank you." He seems to be taken aback with my words because his eyes widen slightly before clearing his throats and returning to a stoic composure.
"We need to take you back to the institute for your safety." His tone became emotionless, like he's protecting himself from something. He seems so familiar, but where have I seen him before?
The institute was a good 20-minute walk away and he didn't say a word the whole time. I occasionally stole glances at him from the corner of my eye and his eyes would flick away from me. I felt him staring but I didn't say anything. My feet become sore after 10 minutes of walking in stilettos and I stop to take them off. Massaging my feet, I look at the boy, who was staring at me again, without a single emotion on his face. He rolls his eyes, sighs, and throws me over his shoulder. I shriek in surprise but he continues to walk, completely unaffected by my weight on his left shoulder.
"What do you think you're doing?" I yell in anger as I claw at his back, trying to get him to put me down.
"We don't have time for you to stop and rest princess. We need to get you to the institute before the rest of the vampire clan come for you." He is walking even faster now, I hold my breast trying to prevent them from popping out of my bra. The faster he walks, the more my boobs bounced, and he walks so fast that they are almost hitting my face. I giggle at the thought, which causes him to look over his shoulder and groan.
The Shadowhunters all gather around at a monitor screen looking at the security footage of my encounter with the vampires. I notice how beautiful they all were, with their runes that covered their skin, their tight black clothes and their seemingly perfect hair. The blond boy's hair still looks perfectly gelled after fighting those vampires, while mine are frizzy and stuck on parts of my face.
"Do you always have the baton with you?" The girl with beautiful black hair asks, I think her name is Isabelle.
"Yeah. It's for self-defense." I mumble as I look down at my feet dangling from the table.
"Good technique." She smiles at me and I smile back. The blonde boy rolls his eyes and steps in between me and Isabelle.
"She could have gotten hurt. You should have stayed here when we first discovered that you were alive."  He looks at me angrily. He's scolding me like a child. What the hell? I feel anger build up in my stomach and I jump off the table to look at him right in the eye.
"I am not some artifact you discovered blonde boy! I do what I want and I will not let those vampire creatures intimidate me." I try to look as intimidating as I could but I know that my 5-foot frame is no match to his muscular build. He looks down at me with his arms crossed, purses his lips, and he smiles ever so slightly. He then nods at me and walks away without saying a word.
Jace watched Y/N the moment she left the institute the first time. There was no way in hell he would lose track of her again. He spied on her day and night, only leaving her when she slept and came back the next morning before she woke up. He hid behind shadows and used tall buildings to watch her from afar. He felt like a voyeur, watching her go about her day innocently, completely oblivious at the men that gawked at her everywhere she went. She's beautiful, perhaps the most beautiful woman Jace has ever seen. He noticed how she walked with confidence, how she played with her brown hair when she got nervous, and how her large eyes bugged out when she's excited. She's wonderful and yet she doesn't know it, which made her even more wonderful in his eyes.
When she waited for her date to arrive, Jace could see her through her living room window. She waited for over an hour and he almost knocked on her door to take her away. The look of disappointment on her face sent daggers to his heart. It angered him seeing her walk alone in the bad part of town, but it made him even more angry when Alec called and distracted him. The 5-minute phone call was long enough for the vampires to attack her. He heard the gun shot and bolted towards her direction right way, leaping from one roof to another. He's never been terrified his entire life.
Jace wanted to touch her so badly, all he wanted to do was caress her face and tell her that she would be ok. That he would never leave her again and would protect her with his life. But he couldn't. She couldn't remember him and he barely knows her. But he knew, he knew in his heart that he needed to keep her safe, she wouldn’t have been separated from her family if he just left her alone all those years ago. It’s because of him that she’s in this position and he owes it to her to keep her safe. Even if it causes her to hate him.

(Can I please just say I don’t think I executed this as well as I could have I might have another shot in the future but still this could have gone so much better... Enjoy)
Ooooh you should do a jimon jock/nerd au – Anon   Jimon Jock AU –
Being a high school student isn’t easy. Especially if you’re clumsy, a nerd, someone who doesn’t know when to shut their mouth, and friends with two of the hottest girls in school, but gay, and like the captain of the football team. The straight captain. Who has every girl after him. Who is basically the older brother of one of my friends and good friends with the other. But apparently I’m invisible and don’t exist.
“You coming to the game tonight?” Izzy asked me.
“Of course, gotta be there to support my best friends at half time”
She grinned excitedly, “Good, and maybe you can come round mine after? I mean my parents are out of town for a while, and my younger brother is at a friends…?”
I rose my eyebrows at her, “Yeah me along with every other teenager, in our year who’ll all be getting completely drunk out of their minds. Why would someone like me be somewhere like there?” I asked her.
“Come on Simon, it’ll be at Izzy’s you know the house, and you know the hosts. There’s nothing wrong with having a little bit of fun at times”
I scoffed, “I do have fun. And you’re forgetting I only know one of the two hosts. Unlike everyone else”
“Si, you’re going tonight. This is the first time in forever that I can actually throw a part and I need both of my best friends there not just one. So you have no other choice. And it’s not like you don’t know the team”
“Oh trust me I know the team. I hear plenty about them, and every other cheerleader. But none of them know I exist. Have you seen me why would anyone know I exist?”
The girls shared a smirk between each other, oh god. They’re scheming. Why are they scheming?
“Si, trust me when I say this. More people than you think know exactly who you are. And appreciate your looks. Trust me I know this”
I looked at Izzy with furrowed brows, “I would really appreciate it if you explained you know Izzy. Like I am terrible, really terrible when it comes to approaching someone, so if someone already thinks that I’m not bad I mean getting their number or snapchat wouldn’t be so bad for me would it”
“Well, if you come tonight I’m sure it would be no problem setting you up with a certain someone”
Why are these girls talking riddles? Ladies and gentlemen, please take my advice, avoid making friends with women who know too much.
“What you girls going on about?” I asked.
“Nothing Si, you got some contacts right? I mean as cute as these glasses are and they suit you, but they cover your face and your eyes. Make sure you wear them tonight. Heck after the game we’ll go to yours first” Clary told me.
I shook my head but couldn’t really argue against the two of these. We soon finished our lunch and went to our lessons, before I got a message to meet with the girls for reasons I really don’t know. But still met them anyway.
People were already starting to pile onto the bleachers, and I got there earlier just to go to the bottom to talk to them.
I saw the girls, but they were surrounded by others, those others being Izzys twin brother, Alec, his boyfriend, Magnus someone I actually get along with, and Jace. Jace stood there in all his glory, the captain of the team, someone who has a constant glare on his face and probably the most mysterious guy known to man. Yet he was basically Izzy’s brother, and friends with Clary. And well, let’s just say I can’t think right around this guy.
“Si, finally you alright?” Clary grinned at me.
The others all turned towards me and Magnus and Alec greeted me, Alec only because of the amount of time I spend with his sister. Jace stared at me for a few seconds before nodding.
“I just wanted to make sure you’ll wait for us after the match” Clary told me.
I nodded, “Yeah sure”
“This means you’re defiantly coming right?” Izzy asked.
I chuckled, “With you two involved I don’t think I have a choice”
“To the party?” Jace then asked looking at me.
I nodded and Clary spoke before I could think of something to say, which I may or may not have been grateful for.
“Don’t think you’re not going Jace. Just because it’s not your scene”
His face as per usual was expressionless, “Of course I’ll be there. Seeing as I basically live there”
This, weirdly gave me hope but at the same time it never. Just because he acknowledged me for two seconds means, well a lot for me nothing for anyone else.
**
The game went well, seeing as Jace was basically a prodigy and one hell of a captain, the girls were great and once it was over Magnus and I both went down, and after a while of waiting around I left with the girls. Which was probably not good on my behalf,
They basically dressed me before we left to get to Izzy’s and we obviously got there before anyone else considering Clary and Izzy still had to get ready. Magnus and Alec were quick to get up and leave going to Alec’s room leaving me sat with Jace. This is probably the best and worst thing to happen in my life.
“Congrats on the game” I muttered awkwardly.
He looked up from his phone to me in shock and then looked around, “Huh… oh… um.. thank you? Thanks. Sorry, I so you were watching? Wait you were there at the start of course you were… shit. Sorry, I even asked if you were going to be here, fuck” I watched as he flushed red as he rambled.
This caused me to smile a little and I reached up to push my glasses back remembering I don’t have them on I awkwardly ran my fingers through my hair, “Yeah. I was. Are you alright… you seem a little I don’t know you’re rambling?”
This caused him to get even redder though his face was completely straight.
“I just didn’t think you would… talk to me or something I don’t know. You took my off guard I guess. Thought you didn’t really like me I guess”
Yeah ok then.
I chuckled a little, “Really? Because I thought you hated me not going to lie”
He looked at me confused, “Why?”
I shrugged, “I don’t know. You kinda have a resting bitch face and look like you hate everyone”
Where the fuck am I getting this bravery from? OK let’s be honest the one thing I’m best at is talking shit or being a sarcastic guy.
As soon as I said that he chuckled a little, “Wow. Thank you for the compliment. But well no, I far from hate you. In all honesty thought you hated me which was why you always stayed away from me I guess.
I shook my head, “Far from it”
His eyebrows rose, “Wait what?”
I shrugged, “I don’t know, I mean sure you intimidate me, but yeah if anything.. actually yeah nah”
He nodded for a moment, “You wanna hang out tomorrow?” He then asked, “I don’t know. You probably don’t but I feel like the girls kind of set this up. I mean… this is going to sound really awkward but… well I mentioned to them I think youre cute and well they’re psychos and I regretted it at one point but yeah, you want to? You probably don’t but I think I’ve done an excellent job at ruining my rep and well..”
“We can watch a movie if you life. And grab food after?” I asked cutting him off with a smile.
He grinned at me and nodded, “It’s a date.” His eyes widened and before he could say anything I agreed, “Yeah a date”
He relaxed, “You know I still feel like killing them”
I chuckled, “You’re not the only one”
Soon they came down whilst we were still talking, the both of them had massive smirks on their faces, we got the drinks set up, the house set up, by that we locked away whatever we had to and soon kids started arriving. And by some miracle Jace actually spent a lot of it talking or dancing with me. Which caused questions from others. But apparently coming to this party wasn’t such a bad idea.

Shadowhunters Rewatch!  Episode 1x02: The Descent into Hell isn’t Easy
- The descent into hell isn’t easy but it’s easiER when you have cramps and there’s a plumber opposite your bedroom again lmao Let’s do this
- Damn Jace no need to be RUDE
- I really love the dilapidated church cover thing btw
- See the tech was something that bothered my sister about the series, she preferred the more medieval feel of the first book and movie. Personally I love it lmao but then again I’m more of a sci fi nerd than her
- I totally forgot the misinformation thing they did after the revolt ew. What kind of coverup bullshit
- Lol early Sizzy moment #godbless
- I feel like this whole ‘runes on the floor will kill mundanes’ thing is underutilised in the future… may have to use it in a fic lol
- HA I forgot they made Izzy’s lack of cooking skills show-canon as well lol
- Additionally Alec’s character development is very interesting to me in a ‘wtf did Magnus see in s1 Alec’ kind of way, so I’m starting a separate list to try and track his motivations and biases and stances to see how they shift. Probably gonna do the same thing for Maryse bc I buy her redemption but I can’t quite pinpoint WHY I do (except my favourite thing is when people are nice to Magnus lmao)
- OH LOOK IT’S HODGE. FUCK U HODGE (ahem. Moving on)
- (Main shadowhunter squad looking around their parents) Isn’t there ANYONE HERE WHO WASN’T A FUCKING TERRORIST??? (Shh Louise we only know Jocelyn and Luke so far)
- Clary I get that you feel bad but apologising once was enough, Hodge is a big boy who can make his own decisions lol
- ‘What is a GI Joe’ lmao
- ‘No training and no plan gets you killed’ I think that’s interesting, because it speaks to Jace’s idea that as long as he trains hard enough and have a plan, things’ll work out.
- I thought it was pretty cold of Clary to seriously consider Jace’s ‘what if Dot is working for Valentine’ point, but then again LUKE has turned on her as far as she knows so I guess that’s a reasonable amount of suspicion
- Izzy looks so proud of herself aw bless
- ‘Jace is the ultimate protector’ oh no oh help I’m having smol-boy-Jace-Wayland-carving-himself-an-identity feelings
- I just noticed the runes drifting in the background of the UI all Matrix-style lol. Can u believe Shadowhunters tried to tell us that WARLOCKS were the #extra ones lmao
- ‘A little too much in my opinion’ imagine thinking Izzy is straight lol couldn’t be me
- ‘He’s in good hands with the boys’ oh POOR Simon XD
- LOOK at the connection between these two. I’m love them. Can u believe they were already kindred souls BEFORE becoming parabatai, truly beautiful
- oKAY canon divergence I want::: Simon leaving without a hitch, googling how to kill demons and FIGURING IT OUT. He comes back for Clary and now the gang have this mundane demon-killer on side lol, and Alec’s all like ‘he’s a fucking MUNDANE he can’t be here in Shadowhunter business learning secrets and getting himself killed’ and Izzy’s like ‘he killed four demons wtf you worried about bro???’
- Seelie scouts??? The Clave really will make a show of unity when it suits them huh
- They were KIDDING about the floor runes are you KIDDING me XD I figured it was just a continuity problem lmao (also I know they’re being dickheads but that little smirk between Jace and Alec is maybe the first time we properly see them as a brotherly team aha)
- Okay but with hindsight you can really tell this whole cold demeanour ISN’T Magnus. His mannerisms are SCREAMING ‘coping mechanism in a time of crisis’ rn
- That being said if Dot’s magic is dangerously low I bet he regretted leaving her behind alone and vulnerable, she’s a grown woman who can make her own choices but it’s kiiiind of a dick move especially since he entreated her with sarcasm instead of earnestness to try and convince her to come with
- It continues to be exceedingly funny that Pandemonium is never mentioned outside of S1, when it’s painted almost as Magnus’ MAIN job in that. I mean it kind of makes sense that we see his public face in this beginning and his more personal details later on – the warlock stuff, the clients and politics that are more ‘core’ to his job and identity – but still. Not even MENTIONED, I don’t think. XD
- All of them stepping out of the van… Scooby Doo vibes lol WHERE is my mystery-solving AU with these five???? Do I have to write all of my unvoiced fanfic ideas myself??? Unbelievable
- Clary talking about the void she felt… I’m not crying about 3x22 you are
- ‘Wasteful warlock life’ Valentine. My dude. She has CENTURIES to learn and love and travel and experience, and you’re wasting your handful of decades on racism But go off I guess lmao (loser)
- I know the liquid is bad but also there is a HUGE bubble in that syringe. Valentine how is she gonna be useful to you after a mahoosive stroke
- Random shot of the moon. I mean I love her but WHAT ‘Look it’s night-time!!!! Spooooooky!!!!’ XD
- Okay Izzy is halfway-smitten, lbr. She and Simon fit so well okay
- ‘I can’t be here anymore’ Listen s1 Alec is a serious, grumpy lil shit but he DOES have a sense of humour okay
- Jace LET THEM HUG :C
- ‘We carry it to remind us that light can be found in even the darkest of places’ Jace stfu it’s a TORCH X’D (Like, no disrespect to traditions in general, but that one just SMACKS of Clave Sanctimony lol, and by Jace’s next line he knows that aha)
- …Is Nephilim the dative??? I need to look that up lol. Also think it’s funny that Hell (in its various realms) is the one place Shadowhunters CAN’T go, re 3x21
- ‘You assume I have feelings’ Jace. Bro. You are perhaps the CRYINGEST CRIER IN THIS SHOW. Let go of the toxic masculinity friend, you’re gonna be nicer once you do <3
- I’m revisiting my earlier point: WHY ARE LITERALLY ALL OF THE PARENTS CIRCLE MEMBERS LMAO
- ‘No more I’m sorries, you’re a Shadowhunter now’ YIKES if that don’t say it all about Shadowhunter hubris lmao. Apologies are good and necessary <3
- RECOGNISED THE CLAIRVOYANCE RUNE, HIGHKEY PROUD OF MYSELF AHA
- Think how much less beautiful and adorable the Malec wedding would have been if Brother Zachariah looked like this kind of Coraline experiment gone wrong lmao
- I’m not always a fan of a flashback but that ‘you’re strong enough’ one definitely makes it seem less like Clary’s just being reckless aha
- ‘It’ ALEC STOP BEING SUCH A RUDE BITCH. Also I do love Sizzy but I definitely think Izzy needed to be in a less defensive position when they got together (re ‘he passes the time’, I don’t ACTUALLY care I’m just a heartbreaker out for a good time), I’m kind of glad they waited until her caring side had been more nourished instead of stifled
- SIMON. YOU SAID YOU HAVE SEEN HORROR MOVIES. WHY DID YOU PUT HEADPHONES ON
- ‘The night children have broken no laws’ Wait, so kidnapping a Mundane ISN’T against the law??? I mean I get Shadowhunters not being able to KILL them for it - …oh. OH. HANG ON. Are the Accords just to stop Shadowhunters KILLING Downworlders for the smallest of crimes???? Does Raphael mean ‘kidnapping no longer constitutes a capital punishment (like it did before)’??? Either this is a script issue (bc if Shadowhunters protect Mundanes, kidnapping one SHOULD be against the law) or a hint of just how fucked up the Accords are, that ‘the law’ isn’t the law how WE understand it but instead ‘things which are still valid excuses to severely punish Downworlders, when we used to do so willy-nilly’ :S
- Season tagline: ‘Everybody wants that damn cup!’ Valentine wants it to wield it, the Clave wants it APPARENTLY to protect people from Valentine, Luke hinted that the werewolves want it, now the vampires…. Damn.
This one gets an 8/10 for enjoyment – I’m having fun! – and actually a 7/10 for quality. Not NEARLY as many script issues and cringe factors as in the first ep lol. Thanks for reading. ^^

Jimon Week - Day 1
Jimon Week! ↳ day 1: social media  or favourite quote
Read me on AO3
                                   Look Me Up On Facebook
Jace didn’t do social media, no matter how much his sister Isabelle and his brother’s boyfriend, Magnus, insisted on it. They said he would have even more success with girls and boys; but he just didn’t see the point. He was already doing just fine with people in general. Not that he minded, no, he loved flirting, it was fun. But he wasn’t really on board for more. Of course it had happened once or twice… Once. But really, romance and sex weren’t his thing.
He sighed as he watched Izzy take a picture of their pizza to put it on her Instagram. Jace shared a look with Alec but his brother just shrugged, before turning his attention back to his attention to his boyfriend. Jace sighed again. Couples. They were always so cheesy, it was gross. Especially Magnus and Alec. It had been two years and they were still in their honeymoon phase. How was that even possible?
He was cut on his thoughts by something liquid suddenly soaking his shirt. He darted up, throwing a death glare to whoever had done this. He found a young man with glasses staring at him with a horrified look on his face.. Jace had noticed him quite a few times, he worked here as a waiter but had never served them.
“Oh, my God. I’m so, so sorry, I’m - Please don’t stop coming here,” he begged. “I’ll send another waiter, but please, I don’t want to be held responsible for losing clients.”
“Wow,” Jace breathed, his shoulders dropping as the tension did too. “Relax, dude. It’s only water.”
The boy was cute. Jace knew it already but it was even more striking from up-close. He had messy dark hair that fell a little on his forehead, his eyes were a sweet chocolate brown. Other than that, he looked quite muscular, though not too much and Jace noticed a Star Wars t-shirt behind the apron that made him smile.
The waiter… Jace looked at his badge. Simon. He inhaled then exhaled deeply, regaining composure.
“I’m sorry though,” Simon repeated, shaking his head. “If you want another drink I can offer it to you, you know, to make amends.”
“If you wanted to ask me on a date, you didn’t need to throw water at me, just so you know.” Jace answered with a wink.
Simon turned red and began to stutter. Jace laughed, he was initially joking, but if the cute waiter ended up asking him on a date he wouldn’t turn him off; that was for sure.
           “I, uh...I- Yeah, okay.”
           Jace raised his eyebrows.
“I, erm… I really should go right now though… I’d… I’d like a date, with you, I mean… I have to go.” He said, holding up an apologetic hang. “Simon Lewis,” he then added.. “That’s my name… My phone broke so, erm… Look me up on Facebook!”
           “I don’t have Facebook.”
“Oh… I-I don’t have time to discuss it right now, but, my shift ends at 3.” The waiter said walking backwards before hurrying to the kitchens after he bashed into the counter, almost making some drinks fall.
Jace slightly shook his head and turned to his friends, who were barely hiding their laughters. It was Magnus who spoke first.
           “Well that was... entertaining.”
“Didn’t know you liked nerds.” Alec teased, arching a brow.
“Maybe now you will start using social media!” Isabelle said excitedly.
                                                             ***
It was around 2 in the afternoon when Clary arrived for her shift and Simon almost threw himself at his best friend.
“Oh my God, Clary, you wouldn’t believe what happened!” He grabbed her hands and squeezed them. “I have a date with Captain America. You know, the blond guy I have a crush on. I spilled water on his shirt and now I have a date.” He couldn’t help a smile.
“Maybe then you can start calling him by his name.”
“His name? Oh no, I didn’t ask for his name, what do I do?”
“You calm down for a start.” Clary chuckled.
“Can I take your phone for a second? I need to use Facebook, just to tell my sister I can’t go to her place this afternoon. Please, please, please.”
Clary burst out laughing and gave her phone to her, overexcited and almost panicking, friend.
Simon quickly logged into his account only to notice he had a new friend request. Heart pounding with way too much hope, he clicked to check the request. He recognised the blond man in a second and accepted immediately. Going on the profile, he realised the account had just been made, a smile tugging at his lips; he looked up at the name. “Jace Wayland”.
Simon almost dropped the phone when it vibrated in his hand. He glanced down the screen to find Jace had just sent him a message.
“No Facebook at work Lewis, see you in a few! Xx”
Jace had made an account, because of him, for him, and with that, Simon felt he was already falling for the guy. He sighed and gave back her phone to Clary, forgetting about his sister already. Yeah, he was doomed.

The One With An Unintended Rescue
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jace Wayland x Reader
Summary: When Simon brings Jace along to check up on you, his sister, Jace ends up kicking your abusive boyfriends ass and getting you away from him.
Warnings:
implied domestic abuse
MASTERLIST (mobile and desktop) (you can like it and save it for later!)
Jace and Simon were not buddies, but they shared a mutual interest; Clary. Or rather, her wellbeing.
And because of it, Jace had somehow got stuck driving Simon around for the night while he tried to find Camille’s whereabouts.
In his head, he was going over all the things he’d rather be doing, but he knew this was a priority; he just hated that it involved Simon.
“Can we make a stop somewhere?” Simon asks.
“Is it on our schedule?” Jace asks pointedly.
Simon shakes his head, “It’ll only take a second. It’s just here…” he points out the window, “On our way, you see.”
Jace reluctantly pulls into the driveway Simon directs him too and climbs out, following him to the front door.
“A mundane house? Really?” Jace scoffs.
“My sister’s house,” Simon explains with a frown, “Well, her shared house.”
“Who does she share it with?”
“Her boyfriend and two other idiots,” he says, his frown deepening.
“What, you don’t like her boyfriend?”
Simon exhales loudly and shakes his head, knocking on the door before Jace can ask why. They could hear shouting on the other side of he door and it momentarily subsides as it swings open.
“Y/N,” Simon sighs in reliefat the sight of you, his smile contorting into a frown as he studies your face. You’d been crying. A lot. Your hair was messy and you had your arms wrapped around yourself.
“Simon,” you wrap your arms around him, “I didn’t know you’d be stopping by.”
You look over your shoulder every few seconds.
“Did he hit you?” Simon asks, moving hair away from your face. You shake your head vigorously, but he notices you wincing each time you move.
“I’m fine,” you reassure him, turning to Jace, “Who’s your friend?”
“This is Jace,” Simon introduces him.
“It’s nice to meet you,” you say, holding a hand out. Jace shakes it slowly, his eyes pinned on your swollen wrist.
“Who the fucks at the door?!” a boy yells, joining you in the doorway.
“It’s just my brother, Luke,” you say.
“Huh, four eyes,” Luke scoffs, his speech a drunken slur, “What happened to your glasses? D’you lose em’?”
“Actually, I don’t need them anymore,” he says.
“Too bad, I’ll have to think of another nickname for you,” Luke says, laughing loudly and clapping a hand to Simon’s shoulder. His eyes shift to Jace.
“Who is he?”
“Just Simon’s friend,” you tell him. Luke steps closer to him.
“Really? Because he looks like that guy who was hitting on you at dinner the other night…”
“What?” you frown, “No – that’s- it’s not him. You’re drunk. Why don’t you go rest?” you suggest, resting your hand on his arm. He yanks it away, poking a finger into Jace’s chest.
“You’re that bastard, aren’t you?”
Jace scoff’s, pushing Luke’s hand away, “No,” he deadpans.
Simon steps between the two of them, “I think y/n’s right. Maybe you should go back inside.”
“Don’t tell me what to do,” Luke spits, shoving Simon’s backwards.
You pull Luke back, pleading him to stop and he shoves you against the wall, pinning you there, “Come on babe,” he growls, “I’m just having a little chat with your brother.”
You swallow hard, trying to squirm out of his grasp by which time Jace grabs him and throws him across the driveway as though he was light as a feather.
“Are you okay?” Jace asks you. You nod slowly, your eyes widening as Luke rushes towards him with his fist pulled back.
“WATCH OUT!” you yell, but Jace is already a step ahead of you. He catches Luke’s fist in his hand and twists his wrist back until Luke drops to his knees, whimpering in pain.
Jace kicks him in the gut before slamming his head against the wall.
“He’s not dead,” Simon reassures you when he notices your hands are clapped over your mouth, “He’ll wake up.”
“And you won’t be here when he does,” Jace says pointedly. He pulls Simon aside.
“How could you let her stay here?” he growls.
“I didn’t know he was hurting her,” Simon says, “In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve barely seen my family since I transitioned!”
“Well, you didn’t like him to begin with! You said so before!”
“They started dating in High School and I hated him back than because he was a jerk. I never thought he was capable of… this,” Simon trails off, his eyes pained, “But you’re right. We have to get her out of here.”
“I’ll sort something out,” Jace reassures Simon, “She’ll be safe with me, I promise you. In the meantime, you have to keep looking for Camille. Raphael isn’t kidding about using your mom as leverage to get you to do what he wants.”
Simon nods, walking back over to you.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” he sighs.
“I didn’t know what to do,” you choke, finally crying as he hugs you, “C-can I go home with you?” you ask.
“Of course,” he nods, “Jace will take you. I just have something to do but I’ll join you as soon as I can,” he says, resting his hands on either side of your face, “You can trust Jace.”
You nod climbing into the car. You don’t look at Jace as he reverses back onto the street but instead at Simon was waving at you with a sad look in his eyes. Jace had it too and it made you feel so small – that everyone knew how broken you’d become.
“I’ve seen photos of you,” Jace says, breaking the silence, “At Simon’s house. You look different in person.”
You knew what he meant. You mother had big, smiling photos of you all over the house from before you’d left.
“Those photos are from when I still lived at home,” you say.
“Why’d you leave?” he asks quietly.
You think for a minute, “When I started dating Luke in high school, my mum wouldn’t let me see him and I really resented her for it. We fought all the time and the minute I graduated, I moved in with him. Of course, she was completely right about him,” you mumble.
“Why didn’t you leave him?” he asks.
“Because I had nowhere to go,” you say, “And… he wasn’t always like this. He never used to…” you trail off, “He took care of me. He still does. It’s just sometimes, he get’s so angry. And I didn’t want to abandon him.”
Jace shakes his head, “Sometimes you have to let people go. Trust me, this is for the best.”
You did trust him. Something about him made you feel like you could.
“So, Simon’s never told me about you,” you say.
“Well, we’re only acquaintances,” Jace says.
“Simon wouldn’t leave me with an acquaintance, he’s very overprotective despite me being a year older than him,” you say pointedly.
“So, you’re the same age as me then,” he nods, “I guess Simon and I are friends, in some weird way.”
“How’d you meet?”
“Through Clary,” he admits honestly.
“Ah, Clary,” you say with a small smile, “Has Simon-“
“Yup, they’re dating now,” he says.
“You don’t look too happy about it,” you raise a brow.
“She’s… my sister,” he says, slightly bitterly, “I feel about Simon the way Simon feels about Luke.”
“Simon’s nothing like Luke. You have nothing to worry about,” you reassure him.
“I know, your brother’s a good guy,” he grumbles, rolling his eyes, “I just don’t like to admit it.”
You laugh softly, cuddling your knees to your chest and resting your chin on them, “So, where are we going?”
“Someplace safe,” he says, “Where I’m currently staying. At least until Simon gets back. Is that okay?”
You nod quietly.
He pull up outside a large building and you both take the elevator up to the top floor.
“Magnus?” Jace calls out. A man steps out from behind a bookshelf.
“I thought I told you no girls over after midnight!” Magnus sighs in frustration, “Alec and I-“
“She isn’t a date,” Jace says, clearing his throat, “This is Simon’s sister.”
It’s only them that Magnus takes a proper look at you. At your smudged mascara and bruised skin.
“Is it okay if we wait here until Simon comes by?” Jace asks.
Magnus nods, “Make yourself at home,” he tells you, “My boyfriend and I are going out for dinner so you can relax. Take a bath,” he says, his eyes soft.
You thank him and wait for him to leave to exhale loudly. As of tonight, no one would ever have to look at you with sad eyes again because you promise yourself, you’ll never go back to Luke.
Maybe someone knocking him out and dragging you away was exactly what you needed to start afresh.
Jace disappears into a room and then comes back out, “I left some clothes for you on my bed. Why don’t you take a shower while I get some dinner ready?” he suggests. His voice was so soft and reassuring.
You nod, slinking into his room.
When you walk back out in his clothes, he laughs a little, “They seem to fit you,” he says sarcastically. They were all too big, but it made you feel protected. Maybe it was how big they were or just the smell of Jace lingering on his clothes.
He hands you a bowl of spaghetti, “I can’t make much else,” he admits.
“Thankyou,” you say appreciatively. You finish within seconds – you weren’t sure when you’d last had a proper meal.
Jace’s eyes are pinned on you almost the entire night. He was worried he’d do something wrong or say something to upset you – he didn’t have much of a filter after all. But you just laughed and made jokes and asked him about his life like you weren’t suffering the tiniest bit – like you’d never suffered a day in your life.
“So that’s how you know how to fight,” you nod after Jace tells you an elaborate story about how he’s a trainer at a boxing studio downtown.
He nods, “I can teach you sometime, if you want?”
“I’d like that,” you smile.
There’s a knock at the door and then Simon walks in, pulling you into a tight hug before ruffling your hair, “I talked to mum. She started crying when I told her you were coming home,” Simon says with a soft smile, “She’s missed you.”
Simon looks at Jace, “Thanks for looking after her tonight.”
“Anytime,” he says, “Really. Anytime.”
Simon frowns slightly, looking between the two of you, “I’ll get a cab,” he says, “Meet me downstairs?”
You nod, waiting for him to leave.
“Thanks for everything. For dinner and for… for getting me out of there,” you mumble, “If not for you and Simon, I probably never would’ve left at all.”
“Sometimes we just need a push in the right direction,” he shrugs, “I’m here. If you need anything. Ever,” he says sincerely, “And I meant what I said. If you ever want to learn how to fight, just ask me. You seem like a fighter to me,” he grins.
“I think I’ll take you up on that,” you say, waving to him before heading downstairs.
Simon waits, leaning against the cab and looking up at the terrace as Jace watches the two of you from it.
Simon looks from Jace to you as he pulls the cab door open, “I think Jace likes you,” Simon says.
You’d barely considered the possibility, but it made you feel a little bit more hopeful… a little excited, even.
“Don’t worry, I’m not going to date him. I know you two aren’t best friends.”
Simon smiles at you, “No, we’re not. But he’d be good for you.”
