#thats my honest reaction 😐 #to be fair ive only seen 20 minutes of the s1 finale bc my parents are watching it but. mmmmm kinda mid #like. the casting is definitely an improvement since the last time they tried a live action but it feels like the writing falls flat #or maybe im being harsh bc ive only heard negative criticism on it beforehand. but fr anytime u bring up the original its already #good and not just because its the original. so much fucking detail went into it to the point of someone noticing azula wielding mai's knive #to how well thought out irohs character is used as a way of uniting the cast especially as zukos foil #i heard that sokkas sexism was toned down and i have to agree that feels like a cheap move. like i get WHY they think it would be better #but its not about how that reflects on real world its about how it affects the story. sokka starts out as a misogynistic asshole because #it makes it that much more impactful when he changes. toning that down makes it flatter and makes his character development weak #and someone pointed out they didnt even make him wear the kyoshi warrior uniform and i know it feels like such a small detail but #come on man. they did that in the original because not only does it help him really walk in their shoes - wearing 'feminine' clothing and #makeup and having suki explain its significance but it also ties in with the shows theme of harmony and intersectionality #i was also disappointed when they had the fire sages explain how the water tribe draws power from the moon because in the original it was #IROH who explained it to aang and everyone else BECAUSE we as the audience is under the impression hes with the 'bad guys' #and it builds up to how he learned from the other nations which reconciles his past as a war general and his character overall #AND its an excellent starting point for the cast and audience to understand how the nations arent as closed off as you would think #plus you would think its only fire nation doing propaganda but they expanded on that with earth kingdom censorship and it WORKS #a lot of things in the live action also feel arbitrary like. they gave momo a near death experience for 5 minutes for no reason #im firmly on the stance of bringing back filler moments instead of putting major events right after each other so that u give your #audience a sense of time passing and to really absorb the story. but i think thats more like shock value than filler and yeah its a small #thing to gripe about but those things build up and its really annoying. the thing abt avatar filler moments is that however small #its at least meaningful. hell even the beach episode emphasizes how isolated zuko and his friends are as child soldiers #i also swore to never watch the first live action since it was that bad but i really liked the stylized tattoos they used for aang #anyway. those arejust my thoughts. im not gonna watch the rest because im a ride or die for the original aftr growing up and #rewatching it at least 20 times as a kid. but theres definitely room for improvement and i wish ppl wouldnt take it as 'better' just cuz #netflix is adapting it. i wouldve killed for them to just reanimate the entire avatar series and touch NOTHING ELSE no redub #no changes to the story. just reanimate the thing and leave the rest alone and youd make easy money just the same #ALSO its very jarring not hearing jack desena and dante basco voicing sokka and zuko cause their voices were the most recognizable to me #i get that its because its live action but im allowed to feel a little sad abt that. and uncle irohs accent was really soothing #yapping

Alright, the Lore Shit: After killing Zenith Martlet and absorbing Asgore's SOUL, Clover decided to kill literally everyone in the Underground (minus the Ruins since they can't get back there) to make sure that any humans to fall in the future can't be killed by them (their ass was NOT listening to Flowey about how the Barrier works). So the constant release of ambient magic from the killed monsters plus them having Asgore's SOUL started to, slowly but surely, turn them into a Monster (and because of how slow it was, they didn't have any balance issues with the tail). Unknown to them, Asgore's SOUL had been collecting that magic, which is what caused them to change. They don't even realize that they've transformed since, as Sans states, they have distanced themself so much by having a LOVE of 20 that they don't even really seem to be there (also they have not looked in a mirror, no "It's you"s to be seen here)

For some reason I thought of this too, but their theme would either be straight up Enemy Retreating or a remixed All's Fair (which I have decided to call "Is It Fair?")

also this is very long so

his mom (a rose) worked at the steamworks and his dad (a hydrangea) worked in the mines. both very rich people, a lot of money. they married and had him (his name at the time being mary) and his brother, sunshine (a sunflower)

something luckheart always wanted to do was be a hero of sorts - like a sheriff (important later)

however due to illness his father passed away when he was young and still liked to wear dresses. his mother grieved deeply for around a year and a half before beginning to date one of her old work friends (he is a tree) and his name is tom

tom was nice and luckheart liked him until he officially moved in and introduced HIS kids, maria (an acorn) and seth (a leaf). after that tom began treating him and sunshine like absolute dogshit - yelling, hitting walls, blaming them for everything, and essentially forced them to mature way faster than they needed

sunny didnt do very well though, as he had both adhd and autism, so yeah

tom would always tell these kids they were assholes, the scum of monsterkind, and that they would never amount to anything good.

luckheart put up with this very begrudgingly until he was about 16 and decided he didnt want to be mary, but instead wanted to be julian

and his stepdad did not like that. he told him that all he ever did was try to get attention from everyone, and that his only changes were temporary and never good anyway (this is important i swear)

so luckheart left in pure rage and swore that he would make himself a life that didnt rely on his asshole stepfather.

so he immediately went from having an allowance and access to many things to having nothing. and not even his mother. he knew she wouldnt be able to stand falling out of love again, so he let her be with tom.

before he left for good, mom and sunshine came to say their goodbyes. it was very emotional and luckheart promised he'd come back for sunny one day

that day hasnt come yet though since he couldnt find an employer and has had to steal things to sell and survive

he wishes he couldve kept his promise but cant

his mom still sends letters, but he cant bring himself to respond to her. maybe one day he could

and he still wants to see his brother too. he misses his lil sunshine. his best friend... its been 4 years and he knows he cant bring himself back to the house but he also needs a way to see them again

and he hates that he's become exactly what tom said he'd be. nothing good.

this is also why hes so out of it and hungry for positive attention. tom never showed any sort of care for him, and he was always told not to " annoy " her

fight: it was over the phone, as sad at it is. you both were at an odds, not coming to a compromise and were both getting really frustrated. lewis was generally a soft spoken man, but he yelled that day. some unkind words were exchanged on both ends before you hang up and ignore his calls. after a couple days of space, he finally flew over to you and you were both able to talk it out over pancakes and coffee. “If you get out of here.” Cinder grabbed a collar from the table and grinned at Winter. “You still cant get out of those chains, can you? Why fight this when you know this is exactly what you want?” 

“I want to be free!” Winter grunted as she pulled at the chains once more, wincing as she felt the cuffs on her wrists start to cut into her. She relaxed her arms, listening to the chains rattle once more as she put her arms to her sides. “What do you even want with me?” 

Cinder gently put the collar around Winter’s neck, locking it. “Cant I just want you? You want me, dont you?” 

Winter looked away, unable to answer Cinder without saying yes. She wanted Cinder dead, she wanted Cinder to pay for what she had done to Penny and to Atlas, for breaking her family apart. But she knew that was what Cinder wanted her to say. To say yes and give into whatever it was she wanted. “You have me, you can take the winter maiden powers, why do you need me anymore?” 

“Because I want you.” Cinder smiled as she used her hand to make Winter look at her once more. “And now, you’re mine.” 

Winter wanted to argue, but was quickly stopped as she felt Cinder press into a kiss with her. Her body trembled as it gave into it, pressing into her captor for a touch she never knew she craved. Winter swore she could feel the collar start to tighten around her neck, keeping her from speaking as she tried to protest. But no matter how much she tried, she couldnt. She wasnt being forced into any of this, but she couldnt say no. She wanted to pull away as Cinder groped her, but only moans would escape her lips.
