Tom Holland and (Y/n) Lively-Reynolds Find Out Who Their “Heartbeat” Soulmate Is
Part 7 of the (Y/n) Lively-Reynolds series
Tom Holland x Singer/Actress!Lively-Reynolds!Reader
Summary: Tom and (Y/n) go on BuzzFeed to find out who their Heartbeat soulmate is. It goes about as well as you can imagine it.
Warnings: uuh, cuteness? The difficulty in choosing song lyrics, tom holland calling (Y/n) pet names so watch out, tom gets (Y/n) grounded and that ends horribly for him
Word Count: 2.1k words
Estimated Reading Time: 9 minutes
A/N: I do actually have the entire plot to this movie in my mind but I’m decidedly Not Thinking About It because if I do, it’ll become a Thing and I don’t have the mental stability or posting regularity for that. I recommend you do the quiz first, personally, but you do as you please. DON'T HESITATE TO DO THE QUIZ AND REBLOG THIS WITH WHO YOU GOT I WANNA KNOW (I got William btw)
Also, in case you missed it, there are three bonus chapters added to this series, you can check them out on the masterlist or here:

The image opens with Tom Holland and (Y/n) Lively-Reynolds sitting at a table in front of a red background. In front of them are two open laptops.
“Hello everyone! My name’s Tom Holland, I play Michael…"
He turns towards (Y/n).
“And I’m (Y/n), I play Helena, and we’re doing a quiz to find out who our Heartbeat soulmate is.”
She nods with a smile and turns towards Tom.
“So, before we start this, who would you like it to be if you could choose?”
He looks at her quizzically.
“Well, you, obviously.”
She purses her lips in thought.
“Yeah, I’m stuck between wanting it to be Helena or Queen Diane.”
He stares at her with his mouth open in shock.
“What? It’s Jennifer Aniston. She’s hot as fuck.”
“She’s also your character’s mother!”
She shrugs.
“That has very little relevance right now.”
The screen turns towards a picture of the poster, captioned with the words The cast of Heartbeat finds out which character is their soulmate.
“Okay, first question, How would your friends describe you? Loyal, rebellious, courageous, charismatic, determined, or compassionate?”
Tom tilts his head slightly to the side.
“Should we do this for each other? Like you put what I think fits you the most and vice-versa?”
She nods.
“Good thinking. I would 100% go with courageous for you. You do backflips. That’s insanely brave in my book.”
He smiles at her.
“Well, you’re the most determined person I know, so I’m saying that.”
They each click on the answers and move on to the next one.
“Question two, What would you rather be doing on a Saturday? Going out to an amusement park, going to a World War II museum, volunteering at a nearby shelter, hiking in a beautiful forest, doing some kind of creative project, or going to see the Swan Lake ballet? These are all very good choices…”
Tom immediately answers while (Y/n) takes a while longer to decide.
“I’m gonna go with hiking. If you do it with the right people, it can be really fun, and there are amazing views.”
She nods.
“I’m gonna arbitrarily decide that the nearby shelter is an animal shelter and choose that one cause I wanna play with puppies and kittens.”
Tom smiles fondly at her as she clicks on the answer.
“You’re adorable.”
“Focus on the quiz, not on my face.”
Tom rolls his eyes but reads the next question.
“What would a perfect gift from your soulmate be? A ticket to go skydiving together, a visit to a drive-through zoo, a giant trampoline, a day at a cat café, an annual pass to the theatre, or a pendant made out of a silver bullet? Oh man, you’re gonna have trouble with this one, aren’t you?”
(Y/n) bites at her nails nervously, eyes flitting between the different answers.
“BuzzFeed must hate me to make me choose between these.”
Tom snorts.
“Alright, well, I feel like going through a drive-through zoo. Maybe I can make friends with a lion, or something.”
(Y/n) side-eyes him.
“So long as I’m emotionally attached to you, you’re not allowed to go near things that could possibly be dangerous without appropriate protection and supervision.”
“And what would that be?”
“In this case? Me.”
“Fair enough.”
She turns back towards the screen of her computer and starts thinking out loud.
“Now the thing is, a day at a cat-café spent with my soulmate would be awesome cause, well… cats. But an annual pass to the theatre shows that they take what I love into consideration, and I love theatre. But then again, the pendant sounds nice cause I can play with it all the time and it’ll remind me of them…”
She nibbles on her lip, eyes flitting between the options.
“Alright, fuck it, I’m going with the cats.”
Tom smiles goofily at her.
“You’re adorable, you know that?”
“I do, actually, got it from my Momma!”
“Ryan’s gonna be sad you didn’t say you got it from him.”
She pursed her lips.
“Well, yeah, but he also raised me not to tell lies, so… I figure I’d show him how well I can remember what he taught me!”
Tom pulls out his phone.
“Oh, this is gonna be good.”
Cut.
When they come back, they’re sitting further away from each other, while (Y/n) looks royally pissed off.
“Which of these would you rather wear? A sapphire ring, citrine bracelet, sunstone choker, aquamarine pendant, lapis lazuli earring, or jasper ring?”
Tom hums.
“I really like the way that choker looks, actually, and it’s not something I wear too often. I feel like being adventurous, let’s go with that!”
(Y/n) scoffs.
“I hope it lives up to its name and chokes you.”
Tom sighs.
“Princess…”
“Don’t princess me, Thomas Stanley Holland, you got me grounded!”
“It’s no big deal, it just means you won’t get dessert at your parents’ this Sunday.”
He might as well have slapped her across the face from how offended she looks.
“Not a big deal? Mom’s making pineapple mousse! You know how much I love that!”
“You can still get it some other time, it’s not like this is the only time she’s ever making it.”
(Y/n) looks at him with her eyes starting to glaze over, voice breaking.
“That’s not the point…”
Tom’s face immediately softens at that, rushing to hug her to him.
“Baby, I’m sorry, I promise I’ll fix it.”
Cut.
(Y/n) is seen sucking on a lollipop, visibly happier. They're now sitting glued together and (Y/n) periodically rests her head on Tom's shoulder.
“Alright, so you went with the choker, right? I really like the earrings, but the bracelet’s so pretty!”
Tom hums.
“The earrings match the suit you bought the other day.”
“Earrings it is. See, this is easy!”
Tom looks at his watch.
“Well, I mean, we’ve been here for about three hours and answered four- I’m gonna shut up now, yeah. Next question! What is the quality you search the most for in a partner? Understanding, loyalty, encouragement, intelligence, humour, or boldness?”
“Is there an ‘all of the above’ answer?”
Tom starts laughing.
“No, but it would make it easier, wouldn’t it? I think I’m gonna go for humour, it’s worked well for me so far.”
(Y/n) fights back a smile.
“You’re such a sap, oh my God. I’m going with understanding. Sometimes when I talk to people I feel like they can never understand what I actually mean, you know? I don’t think I could be in a relationship where the person doesn’t get me.”
Tom’s hand moves towards her chair. From the angle of the camera, we cannot be sure, but it seems that he’s rubbing her thigh in comfort.
“I’ll always understand you, darling, you know that, right?”
She turns to the side and lightly kisses his shoulder.
“Question number six. Which of these would you say apply the most to you? I can be insecure, I have trouble settling down, I can be manipulative to get what I want, I find it hard to be independent, I would sacrifice my happiness for the well-being of others, I tend to use humour to hide my real feelings.”
Tom stretches to the side, and presses I tend to use humour to hide my real feelings on (Y/n)’s computer.
“Hey!”
“It’s true!”
In retaliation, (Y/n) presses I would sacrifice my happiness for the well-being of others.
“And don’t argue, it’s just as true–if not more so than mine.”
They look at each other for a few seconds, seemingly arguing back and forth through their eyes only, before settling back.
“Alright, I’ll concede. Which of these colours is your favourite? Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, or purple.”
“I call blue!”
“You can’t just call a colour, (Y/n).”
“I just did.”
He sighs in irritation.
“Fine, guess I’ll go with red, then.”
(Y/n) smiles happily, scrunching her nose, although the happiness fades from her face as soon as she sees the next question.
“Oh, God, not a song lyrics question. And what the fuck? You want me to choose between these? You got Walking in the Wind by One Direction, The Man by Taylor Swift, and Walls by Louis Tomlinson, it’s like you want me to fail!”
Tom smirks.
“Well, as you said before, I call Walls!”
(Y/n) looks at him with an affronted look on her face.
“You bitch.”
She looks back at the screen.
“The thing is, I deeply identify with The Man, cause feminism, and patriarchal society, and constantly being underestimated. But Walking in the Wind is such a beautiful song! It’s like, the perfect amount of feeling and scream-it-until-your-voice-breaks. Also, this specific line really makes me laugh. Just close your eyes and see. Idiots.”
She clicks that one.
“I just want to say that this was an impulsive decision that I will probably regret and un-regret twenty times in the next five minutes.”
Tom nods.
“Question nine, only two more. Choose a spirit animal. Wolf, hummingbird, cow, tiger, dog, and bison.”
He frowns at the screen.
“Not gonna lie, those are some pretty weird choices of animals.
(Y/n) immediately clicks on the wolf.
Tom goes for the dog.
“Ha! Your spirit animal is a weaker, domesticated version of mine.”
He opens his mouth to start arguing.
Cut.
“And last question before we find out who our soulmate is! Which character of Greek mythology would you rather be? Apollo, God of the sun, music, and dance, Hestia, Goddess of the hearth, Eusebeia, personified Spirit of loyalty and duty, Athena, Goddess of strategic war, Prometheus, the Rebel Titan, Midas, King of Phrygia. Well, you know I’m going for Athena!”
Tom nods.
“I wanna be Prometheus, he sounds like a cool lad. Also, he gave humans fire so, thanks!”
(Y/n) snorts.
“What a nerd.”
Cut.
“Oh hey, I got me!”
Tom smiles, happily reading the description.
“Your soulmate is...Michael, Captain of The Storm's Fear! Bold, outgoing, free at heart, every day will feel like an adventure with this handsome pirate Captain. A relationship with him is a constant adrenaline shot, travelling the world together is a must. He won't give up his freedom and may sometimes be overwhelmed by his fear of commitment, but don't be fooled by his aloof exterior: once he's got you, he won't let you go. Aw, that’s such a nice description!”
He turns towards (Y/n).
“You look happy! Who did you get?”
She smiles from ear to ear.
“I got the best possible answer.”
“You?”
“Nope, I got Jen’s!”
Tom’s face drops instantaneously.
“What?”
“Mm-hm. Your soulmate is...Diane, Queen of Elyksos! Generous, compassionate, always ready to help, Queen Diane is the Beauty with a heart of gold. Honest to a fault, when she compliments you, she means every word of it. Even though her people's well-being comes above all else, as long as you don't try to do something stupid like cause their poverty for your own gain *cough King Edmund cough*, she will love you completely and unconditionally. My soulmate’s Jennifer Anniston!”
He gapes at her.
“She’s your Mum!”
“Only in the movie!”
“And she’s like, thirty years older than you!”
“Yes, and?”
Tom shakes his head, defeated.
“For fuck’s sake…”
Cut.
“Alright, and that was all we had for you today! I hope you enjoyed us being tortured by a quiz. Don’t forget to watch Heartbeat, out in theatres on August 21st!”
“Bye, everyone! I’m off to take a ride on Captain Michael’s ship!”
Tom chokes on his own spit.”
End of video.

Still dedicated to the wonderful @peachworthy. you read part one than you know - GMM Rhink AU - College Student Link/Pornstar Rhett AU
“Got it right again, man! You’re going to ace this test!” Rhett crows as he tosses down another notecard and Link pumps his arms in triumph. The two of them are settled in the kitchen, piles of books and notecards spread around as well as few bottles of beers and some bowls of chips.
Link picks up one chip and pops it into his mouth, grinning at his roommate fondly, “Well, couldn’t’ve done it without you, pal. You are, without a doubt, the best study buddy I’ve ever had.”
“Aw shucks, gonna make me blush,” Rhett laughs even though it’s Link who feels his cheeks actually grow warm, his friend’s laughter a common cause of the occurrence.
They’ve been living together for over a month now and it’s been beyond amazing. Link would’ve never guessed a guy like Rhett and a guy like him would work so well together.
It’s like they’re the world’s weirdest, most convoluted puzzle yet all the pieces click together to form a full picture that is nothing short of a masterpiece. True, there’s a lot about Rhett Link doesn’t know yet (and gosh is there a lot he wants to know) but their friendship is running smoothly.
Well, smoothly save for the massive crush Link has on the guy, albeit he’s doing his damned best to squash it. Yes, Rhett’s attractive and yes, he’s the first guy Link’s ever met that he’s felt a real zing for, but the fact of the matter is – Link would much rather have him as a friend and roommate than lose him as a…well, Link’s not sure if he’d lose him, but the mere possibility keeps Link’s lips sealed.
Besides, it’s okay to crush on someone and never act on it. People do it all the time. Not to mention that it’s a bit…odd to crush on someone in Rhett’s line of work. Isn’t it?
Link can’t think of too many people who will admit to crushing on an adult film star. Regular, mainstream film stars, sure – but adult film stars?
Yeah…
Although, to be frank, Link’s sure there are some that do. And, hopefully, some of them are not the creepy internet troll-y kind of people, but genuine salt of the earth folks like himself. Because, okay, he is crushing on one so…
Rhett is toying with the cards, maybe looking for the next question to quiz Link on when he asks idly, “Y’know, Link – I gotta say, I admire your stamina.”
That remarks makes Link choke on the drink he’s just been consuming, a cough clearing it up some as he croaks, “I’m-I’m sorry?”
Rhett hums noncommittally, as if not noticing the gaffe, “You’ve had yet to grill me about my job. Normally, once folks hear about it, that’s all they want to talk about.”
“Oh,” Link breathes out loosely, “Well, ah-? It-? It just…seemed rude to-to ask…”
“Been over a month living with me now. You telling me you ain’t interested?”
“I didn’t say that!” Link quips back much quicker than he would like, but Rhett just gives him the most perfect smile. All sincere and warm beneath his beard and remember, Link, you’re doing you’re best not to crush on him!
Rhett is still toying with the cards, eyelashes downcast, the very visual definition of shy as he murmurs, “Just sayin’…I don’t mind if you wanna ask some stuff.”
Link’s eyebrows rise in such a way as to damn near bump his glasses off, “Y-You sure?”
Rhett draws in a deep inhale and then sits the cards down. He crosses his arms and leans back in his seat, looking quite serious even despite the casual red flannel and jeans, as if this was more of an interview (or perhaps an interrogation?) than anything else, “Shoot.”
The a million and one questions that Link has kept at bay about Rhett’s job and more personal life threaten to cave his skull in as they crash about in his mind. However, he has to go with the obvious, “Know this’ll be predictable, but…why?”
Rhett just bobs his head in an understanding nod even as Link pushes on, “Why and how?”
Rhett sucks on his teeth before picking up his own beer and taking a fortifying sip before continuing, “The two are kinda interconnected to be honest. Had a fallin’ out with my family. Think I mentioned it in passin’ to you once. But, to clarify; they weren’t too happy with my chosen living destination nor with the fact that I’d come to terms with the notion that I’m attracted to both the ladies and the gents.”
Link’s mind immediately (and joyously) clings to ‘the gents’ remark, bookmarking it for future reference, even as Rhett continues his tale, “You grew up where we did. So you get it.”
Link does. And then, to nail the point home, Rhett adds, “Probably get it a lot more than others. If my…instincts are to be believed.”
Shit.
SHIT.
Link’s whole body immediately bursts into flame, the tips of his ears so hot he’s sure they’re glowing bright red.
Rhett knows I’m gay. He knows. I thought having a radar for that kind of thing was bullhonkey, but he knows and oh, lord, oh lord – do I give off some sorta vibe? I know that girl in my screenwriting class, Stevie, she teased me about being an A-Level twink or something, but I didn’t think-!
Rhett’s laughter carves right through Link’s insecurities, “Take a breath, brother! Look like you’re about to pop!”
Link does and Rhett just shakes his head, still grinning, “Point being – I was pretty much a babe in the woods when I came to LA. Not two nickels to my name, so I took whatever gigs I could get. Managed to snag a few commercials and things of that nature, but you know the drill. Jobs are hard to come by. And a guy of my height?”
He blows out a big breath and tosses all of those luxurious curls about with a rueful head shake, “Yeah, most people fingered me for a baller, so – again – jobs were hard to come by. But then, wouldn’t you know it? A friend of a friend of a contact told me about this part they thought I’d be perfect for.”
Another deep barrel chested chuckle emerges as he reminiscences, “Mighta been nice of ‘em to let me know it was actually a part of me they thought would be perfect.”
Do not zero in on his crotch! Do NOT zero in on his crotch! Charles Lincoln Neal the Third DO NOT-!
Link keeps his eyes so steadfastly forward he probably looks like some bug eyed zombie. If Rhett notices, he doesn't comment, “Anyway, when I found out what the role was, I had planned to politely decline but, y’know, the money they offered…”
There’s an easy shrug and this Link can look at. He looks at Rhett, who looks a bit sheepish as he scratches at one side of his beard, “I mean, again, you grew up where I did. So, you know how the whole ‘wait until marriage’ thing was drilled into your head, but I figured it wasn’t like anybody would know. My family’d cut me off, my friends were few and far in between, and the people on set…”
Now he looks a bit happier and Link can’t help but smile along with him, “The people on set were all right. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard the kind of stories people tend to spin – the exploitation, the drug abuse, other questionable stuff…place I was at wasn’t like that. I mean, maybe I just lucked out or something, but it was…”
Another shrug and he goes for his beer again. Link figures this is as good a time as any to get in another question, “So, you did that and then you…? Just kept going?”
Rhett nods as he drinks, the bottle leaving his mouth with an obscene pop that Link is going to do his best to forget all about right now and certainly not recall at any point in the future (and most certainly NOT when he’s jacking off later), “Yeah, I did the one and the director really liked me. He pull me aside and told me about this company he was trying to set up with a couple of buddies of his. They wanted to go in a classier direction – know how funny that sounds, but he was serious.”
“So, what? No, like, blockbuster porno knock offs? Like ‘Sex in The City and ON the City’ or ‘Arma-get-it-on’?”
“Think you stole that last one from an episode of CSI.”
“I did, doesn’t change the question.”
They’re both smiling like a couple of fools, but the mood is good and the atmosphere light as Rhett sighs, “Yeah, nothing like that. I’ve actually worked with a few female directors, shot some things with great budgets, nice lighting, good costumes…”
“Oooo, costumes,” Link teases in the silliest voice and Rhett swats out at him. Link avoids the hit even as Rhett rolls his eyes, “I’m serious, dude. Some of the things that department pumps out looks better than anything you’d see in Hollywood.”
“Hmm, some kinda wood,” Link snickers and this time Rhett’s swat makes impact, brushing Link’s shoulder and Link would be embarrassed by the giggle he lets out, if it weren’t for the way Rhett’s nose is all scrunched up, making him look beyond adorable, “You’re sucha brat!”
Link sticks out his tongue and Rhett just laughs. They turn their attention to the drinks and chips for awhile before Link circles around to another question, “You like it then?”
“It’s a living,” Rhett confirms, not really answering one way or another, “Like I said – make great money, work with some really nice people.”
“Uh,” Link scratches behind one ear, “Hate to ask, but, um…clean people?”
Rhett doesn’t seem offended, “You bet. Have to be. Another reason I’ve done this as long as I have. Money's great, but the safety is even better. I’m currently under contract with that same company I told you about – the one that director brought me under. On top of wanting to,” he air quotes his next words, “be classier’-”
He drops the quotes, “They wanted to provide an excellent work environment. Heck, me and the other actors and actresses probably have a cleaner bill of health than the entire state. Can’t shoot scene one until you’ve got the A-Okay.”
“Huh,” Link absorbs that with some surprise, but then, he supposes it really shouldn’t be. The adult film industry is a big lumbering beast right alongside it’s more recognized counterpart. No reason one shouldn’t be as cautious as the other. If anything, one has more right to be cautious.
Thinking on this, Link suddenly feels an odd pang. It’s a shame in one way that’s one viewed as more reckless than the other, more questionable. But, when viewed through a mostly puritan lens…
Not wanting to get too philosophical, Link switches gears, “You been in a lot of films?”
“My fair share.”
Another dodge, but Link will let him have it. However, he can practically feel devil horns rise as he asks with a naughty gleam to his eye, “Win any awards?”
Rhett’s practically preening, “Several.”
“Really?” Link asks with some surprise, but Rhett suddenly looks quite naughty himself. Naughty and…a bit too hot for Link’s liking as the heat that always seems to surround him when he’s near Rhett rises and woo boy, he’s really failing at this squashing-the-crush thing.
“If you’re a good boy, maybe I’ll show you one of my trophies some time…”
Everything in Link melts into a puddle and he’s not sure what expression he’s wearing, but it’s one that makes Rhett’s whole face light up, “…or maybe, just maybe, I’ll show you a little somethin’ else…”
If it’s possible for a melted puddle to also explode, then Link’s just done it. Rhett bursts into guffaws as he reaches forward and, very smoothly, pushes Link’s jaw up because Link’s jaw? It dropped. He didn’t even feel it drop.
And then, to just add more fuel to the fire, Rhett rubs the pad of his thumb along the bottom of Link’s chin, right below his lip, “Damn, son…you’re just too much for words.”
“I…”
That’s it.
That’s all that Link can offer.
Just one sound, one vowel.
Silent and stunned and Rhett draws back, looking like the cat that ate the canary as he lets him go and rises up from his seat, “Think you need a moment. I’ll be back in a bit.”
And – just like that – Rhett saunters out of the room.

Miyeon’s STAR1 Magazine December 2021 Issue Interview
MIYEON’S GROWTH 2021 was a challenging year for (G)I-DLE Miyeon (24). In addition to being a singer, she started new field of activities as an MC and an actor. Every of the activities she did for the first time felt scary and unfamiliar, but Miyeon plucked up her courage and had a successful debut as an actress for the web drama Replay: The Moment When It Starts Again and as an MC for Mnet’s M Countdown. Following the momentum of IHQ’s Quiz from the Stars, she joined the love psychology program TVING’s Love Catcher in Seoul as a fixed panel, and is actively continuing her acting career by appearing in TVING’s Adult Trainee and the web drama Delivery. No matter what role she is in, she shows that she is able to do her part well. Miyeon said that she likes to share moments with people rather than doing it alone, so the schedule she has with the staff has become healing in itself. A pleasant meeting and interview with Miyeon, who brightened the photoshoot with positive energy that sublimates everything she is doing into joy.
It was a pictorial with a holiday concept.  These days, it’s hard to feel the year-end atmosphere even though it’s the end of the year, but it was nice to be able to feel the holiday atmosphere through this pictorial. Winter isn’t my favorite season but I really like the holiday atmosphere that can only be felt at this time.
Adult Trainee is about to air. The high-teen drama that talks about ‘sex’ has become a hot topic even before it was aired, and I’m curious about the view point. It’s a drama of a time that any student before adulthood can go through. It’s conducted in an omnibus style, and I think it would be nice to focus on how the characters in this drama positively influence and change each other.
You also appear in a comedy-action web drama called Delivery. From the teaser video, the flashy actions scenes looked different. Can we look forward to it? I was very worried about whether I would be able to do a lot of the action scenes better than expected. Most of the people around me said, “Miyeon in an action?” (laughs). There were some regrets, but I’m glad a cool scene was born thanks to the people who made it look good.
How long did you practice action? I practiced for about a month while attending an action school. I didn’t think I had any talent for action, but people around me complimented me for being unexpectedly good, so I was able to practice with confidence. Since teamwork is the most important thing in action, I think the experience of memorizing choreography while working as a singer helped a lot.
You also appear in an entertainment show that match the psychology of love in Love Catcher in Seoul. Do you usually give dating advice well?  Rather than giving practical advice, it’s more like empathizing and listening. When you follow people’s psychology, there are times when you should know the person’s emotions and empathize with it. Love Catcher in Seoul is also a program where I appear because it’s the most important program to empathize with the psychology of the contestants. It’s also really fun.
When it comes to dating, at what percentage do you think you’re usually right when it comes to your gut feeling? I always predict the process well. But when I look at the results there are many times when I’ve missed them. Haha. There is also a process of reasoning in Love Catcher in Seoul, but it’s a pity that I haven’t gotten it right yet.
You’re really everywhere at once. What is the driving force behind your continued activities without getting tired? I don’t really feel the meaning of doing it alone. I like to share, even the smaller things, with a lot people. As a result, the process of being with the (G)I-DLE members and staff is great, and the fact that the fans can like and enjoy the results itself is happy and encouraging. I think the fact that we are together is a big driving force.
You first started acting with Replay: The Moment When It Starts Again this year. Was there any difference from the stages and entertainment shows? My appearance on the stage shows who the person Miyeon is. But I think acting starts when I let go of who I am so I can play characters of really different personalities, such as Ye-Kyung from Adult Trainee and Doo-Shik from Delivery. It’s very attractive to be able to bring out another side of me and live out the lives of characters who are the complete opposite of who I really am.
It’s December. What are your plans for Christmas this year? Actually, Christmas is just around the corner for me. Since I was young, I didn’t believe in Santa Claus (laughs), and it was just a fun day to receive gifts from my parents. Every year, the members and I meet, and although short, I was happy to be with the members while spending Christmas, and I think I will be with the members again this year.
With the arrival of the Corona era, face-to-face meetings with fans are not far off. What is the first thing you want to say to your fans? When we were just about to start the tour, it was cancelled due to COVID-19, and as face-to-face contact became impossible, we couldn’t meet the fans at all, so we miss them so much. When we meet, the first thing I want to tell them is that I really miss them. I just might cry (laughs).
As a singer, actor, and entertainer, you are showing your talent in many ways. What attributes would you like to see added in the future? I still don’t know myself very well. I think it’s a time to keep getting to know and learn more about myself. I’m also very curious about how I'll evolve, and I hope the public will always be curious about what kind of songs I’ll sing or what kind of work I’ll do.
It’s already been a year. Do you have any wishes for 2022? I hope it’ll be a good year to take care of my health. I say this everyday because I’m not really good at taking care of myself. I hope I can take care of my health and promote happily in 2022.

GQ COUPLE’S QUIZ
request fourteen
summary: colson and his gf y/n do the gq couples quiz together
word count: 1,877
warnings: mention of nipsey hussle’s death
3rd person’s P.O.V.
Y/N sat down in the chair while her boyfriend sat beside her in a different chair.
“You ready?” He asks her and grabs her hand, knowing that she gets nervous when someone is filming her. Although she gets nervous, she knows that this kind of stuff comes with dating a celebrity.
“Yeah, are you okay with doing this?” She asks Colson, knowing that he was upset earlier today because Nipsey did this interview with Lauren before he passed. The death had hit him really hard but doing this was a way to honour Nip’s legacy, as their GQ interview was really popular.
“Yeah baby, let’s do this!” He smiles.
“Okay guys, you know the drill. Y/N will ask Colson the questions off her cue cards and we will keep track of the points. We begin rolling in 3, 2, 1…”
“Hey everyone. I’m Y/N Y/L/N and I’m here with my boyfriend, Colson Baker a.k.a Machine Gun Kelly. This is the GQ Couples Quiz, hopefully, y’all know how it works. Are you ready baby?”
“Yeah let’s do it,” Colson smiles at her.
“Alright, what was the first meal I ever cooked for you?” Y/N grins at him.
“God that was a long time ago,” He chuckles. “Are we talking when we were friends or when we started dating?”
“Hmm.. let’s go with friends to make it harder for you,”
“Was it… cereal or something?”
“Babe!”
“What!?”
“It was grilled cheese! When you were hungover and came to my place,” She playfully hits his shoulder.
“Oh yeah! I knew that so I should still get the point,”
“No, you didn’t!” They laugh together.
“I’m going to be so bad at this,” He puts his head in his hand and laughs.
“Confidence is key,”
“Yeah baby I know,” They smile at each other.
“Okay… how many tattoos do I have?” Colson looks up and furrows his eyebrows.
“Let me imagine your body hold on,” He points his finger in the air as if to count. “1, 2, 3, 4, 5…”
“Come on,” Y/N encourages him.
“11?”
“Correct!” Y/N high fives him. “Bonus point if you can name them,”
“I don’t know about that,” Colson teases. Y/N playfully shakes her head at him.
“What’s my favourite colour?”
“Easy, green.” Colson pauses. “Or the colour of my eyes,” He winks.
“Correct, good job. Two points so far,”
“What was my first job ever?”
“Fuck, it was at a fast-food joint right?”
“Yes! Three points,”
“I’m smashing this!” Colson pumps his fist in the air.
“Yeah, yeah,” Y/N giggles.
“If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life, what would it be?” Y/N nervously shuffles the cue cards.
“I don’t know if I can say that one on camera baby,” He laughs.
“Kells!” She swats him with the cue cards and laughs.
“Nah, Nah. Pasta right?”
“Nice save. Correct,”
“Alright, what’s something on my bucket list?”
“Ummm… go to the Olympics? Like attend it, not be in it!”
“Yes actually, I’m surprised you know that one.”
“You gotta give me more credit, I listen…” He pauses. “Sometimes,” Colson joking around is noticeably making her feel more comfortable.
“How do you know when I’m mad at you?”
“How am I supposed to answer this without making you mad?” Colson teases. “You ignore me, gimme the cold shoulder,”
“I mean you’re not wrong…” She admits. “What colour are my eyes?” Y/N shuts her eyes quickly.
“Damn, now I can’t cheat. They’re green yeah?”
“No! They’re brown!” She says as she opens her eyes.
“With little green bits in them!”
“Babe! They do but they’re mostly brown. I reckon that one’s wrong.”
“Not fair,” Colson jokingly pouts.
“Let’s move on. What’s my favourite “pump up” song?”
“Till I Die by yours truly,” Colson grins. “Obviously. How many points am I on now?”
“7 I think?”
“Out of how many questions?”
“9?”
“Alright, I’m doing okay so far,”
“What’s my favourite movie?”
“Notting Hill!” Colson answers quickly.
“Wow, I’m impressed.”
“Yeah well, you make me watch it at least three times a week,”
“True,” She giggles.
“How long does it take to my makeup?”
“Well, it depends on the look, pretty much between 5 hours to 3 years!” Colson jokes.
“Hey! It does not take me that long. It takes me life half an hour to an hour!”
“Yeah well for me it feels like a lot longer than that,” He laughs.
“What’s my favourite fast food and what do I like to order?”
“Oh, easy, your favourite place is KFC and you like to order a double tender meal! That’s an Australian specific burger for all you uncultured swine,” He jokes.
“Correct!” Y/N laughs. “Who influenced me when I was growing up? Music-wise,” Y/N asks cheekily. Colson rolls his eyes.
“Eminem,” He mumbles.
“What was that?” Y/N giggles.
“Eminem!” He speaks a bit louder which makes Y/N burst into laughter. God knows if these two will have any laughter left in their body after this interview is finished.
“Correct again. You’re rocking this baby,”
“What am I on now?”
“Like ten I think?”
“Sick!”
“Describe me in three words,”
“Gotta make this appropriate. Let’s go with sexy, funny, no actually! Hilarious! And kind,”
“Awe thanks, Kells!”
“What am I most comfortable sleeping in?”
“Nothing,” Colson winks at the camera.
“Oh my god,” Y/N puts her face in her hand. “Let’s move on.”
“Wait wait wait is that correct?” He smirks.
“Yes! Now, what am I most scared of?”
“Small spaces right? You’re claustrophobic or whatever they call it,”
“Yes and no. I am scared of small spaces but it’s not what I’m most scared of,”
“What is it then?”
“I’m most scared of losing you,” Y/N blushes.
“Awe babe! I love you,” Colson kisses her cheek.
“I love you too,” She smiles. “What’s my Starbucks order?”
“Either cold brew or a green tea frap with whipped cream,”
“Correct! I think that’s 13 now?”
“Yay!”
“Who’s my favourite actor/actress?”
“Obviously me, or Hugh Grant,”
“Another one correct!”
“Where was I born?”
“Easy, Australia!”
“Do you know where in Australia?”
“Melbourne?”
“Yep! I knew that you knew that, I just love hearing you say Melbourne in your accent,” Y/N admits, to which Colson laughs.
“Who is my celebrity crush?”
“Is that even a question? It’s obviously me,”
“Yes… obviously…” Y/N says in an uncertain voice.
“Is there something you’re not telling me?” Colson furrows his eyebrows.
“Nope!” Y/N laughs. “Moving on… what is my favourite nickname to call you?”
“Daddy,” Colson winks at the camera.
“Colson!” Y/N raises her voice, clearly embarrassed.
“Or Kells,”
“That’s better,” They laugh together. “Who is Casie’s favourite? If you don’t know, Casie is Colson’s beautiful daughter,”
“Um me of course,”
“No, me!”
“Hey! I’m better with her!”
“No, she loves me more,”
“No, she loves ME more! I’m her dad!” Colson whines.
“There’s only one way to settle this,” Y/N grins and grabs her phone out of her jacket pocket. She clicks on Casie’s facetime contact and moves the phone to show only her face.
“Hey Y/N!” Casie answers.
“Hey baby girl, I have a question for you.”
“What’s up?”
“I wanna know who’s your favourite, me or your dad?”
“Is dad with you?”
“No…” Y/N chuckles.
“Okay don’t tell him but you’re my favourite!”
“Hey!” Colson yells.
“Y/N you said he wasn’t with you!” Casie pouts.
“Sorry hun, we’re doing a video and he thought that he was your favourite,”
“You’re both my favourite!”
“You can’t go back on your word now,” Y/N jokes. “I gotta go now but I’ll see you soon!”
“Okay love you both!”
“Love you too!” Colson and Y/N say at the same time before Casie hangs up.
“Told you I’m her favourite,” Y/N winks as Colson sits in his chair sulking.
“What’s my favourite tv show?”
“Depends on your mood. I know your top three are Law & Order SVU, Supernatural and Big Mouth,”
“Good one baby!”
“I only know that because you also make me watch those with you,”
“Shh you’re on 18 now I think,”
“Out of?”
“23 I believe,”
“Hmm, that’s okay,”
“Where did we first meet and what did I think of you?”
“We met at one of my shows and you thought I was an asshole,” Colson chuckles.
“I did think you were asshole but really hot,” Y/N admits.
“Great,” Colson laughs.
“What’s my favourite ice cream flavour?”
“Mint choc chip!”
“No, it’s cookies and cream. You know better,” Y/N jokes.
“Oops,”
“Okay, what’s my zodiac sign?”
“Oh! Virgo! And I’m a Taurus! I only know this because Y/N is trying to educate me on all of the signs,” He laughs.
“Yes I am, he’s doing very well so far. Clearly,”
“I try,” He swats his imaginary hair behind his shoulder making everyone in the studio laugh.
“What’s my favourite part of my body?”
“Coincidently, it is also my favourite part of your body. Your butt!”
“Yes,” Y/N says in between chuckles.
“What’s my favourite song of yours?”
“That’s hard because you have so many!” Colson laughs.
“It’s true… how about name one off each of your albums?”
“Alright, I’ll just do the mainstream ones. Lace Up, your favourite is Wild Boy or See My Tears. General Admission, your favourite is Bad Motherfucker or Merry Go Round or Till I die! Honestly most of the songs off that album. Bloom, Let You Go or 27 or Wake + Bake cause you said my voice sounds really hot in that,”
“Don’t at me like that!” She laughs. “But it’s true,” She winks at the camera.
“I know BINGE is an EP but still, your favourite is NYLON. Hotel Diablo, it’s Glass House or 5:3666 or el Diablo. And off Tickets to my Downfall, well that’s a secret.”
“Wow, you got all of them right! I really love Baddest and Lead You On too by the way! Highly recommend checking out all of those songs,”
“I’m glad you like my songs baby,”
“Of course. Now, what’s my favourite thing about you?”
“Physically, one thing we can’t mention on camera,” He winks. “Or my tattoos. Y/N has a really bad habit of tracing them like 24/7,”
“I can’t help it! They’re all so interesting. I think I’ve bugged him about telling me the meaning of every single one,”
“True that. I reckon emotionally though, your favourite thing is how much I care about everyone,”
“Oh yeah for sure. Onto the last question, you ready babe?”
“Yep,”
“What’s the biggest scar on my body?”
“I don’t know babe! The one on your leg?”
“Yes actually,”
“Aye there we go!”
“Well, that was my last question, thanks for playing baby and thank you for watching!”
“What was my score?”
“24 out of 30 I think,”
“Oh,” Colson looks down at his feet. “Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy with that but that’s the score Nip got when he did this with Lauren. Shout out to those two, rest in peace. Neighbourhood Nip forever!”
“Love you,”
“Love you too baby girl,”

I did not check over this so sorry for mistakes lmao

Acquired Ability: Existential Crisis
People think success is a step by step process. They think there’s only one way to be successful. That’s not true. There is no one recipe for success. You just have to do what works best for you.
How will you know what works best for you? You just don’t know until you try it. How far do you have to go to find something that works for you? You don't know, so you have to plan ahead.
Planning is hard for me. Of all my ideas, about 25% are actual, coherent thoughts. I can only work about 10% of those coherent thoughts into an actual plan.
I thought tonight would be the first time in my life a plan actually worked. I was wrong. And what did I get for my troubles? Two black eyes and scratches all up my arms.
How did things go from zero to “time to hide behind a tree way out in the middle of nowhere”? It's kind of complicated and messy, but here we go.
At school, I never received any awards, because I never did any extracurricular activities. I had to work so much harder than my friends at getting my school obligations done. I had no energy left for stuff on top of that. That always made me feel a little bit broken. Since the awards you win matter to colleges, the guidance counsellor instructed me to take a personality quiz to see what type of extracurricular I'd be good at. I took the quiz, and it said that I should do drama, since the AI working behind the scenes predicted that I'd make a good actress.
You can't use an AI to predict that sort of thing. You never really know who's going to be successful in performing arts and who won't. For every person who goes on to be a famous actor, there are about 50 who don’t. Nobody talks about them. We hear nothing about them because they didn’t succeed.
Beyond AI's failing to take into account survivorship bias, we had a bigger problem with the drama department: they couldn’t seem to make up their minds.
The original plan was to do Romeo and Juliet, but Sarah’s dad didn’t want her to kiss Joshua. In response, the school changed the play to The Lion King. Due to a translation flub, we wound up with the materials to do Cats. In less than a week, they changed it to The Hunchback of Notre Dame because Cats triggered Bernadette’s fear of cats. That lasted about a day because literally everybody thought it was “problematic”. Everybody got sick of the department constantly changing the play, so we settled on doing Singing In The Rain.
I got the part of Lina Lamont. Rather than do Lina's hellacious voice as a screechy Brooklyn accent, I thought it would be funny if I did a lisp (think “I have a vewy gweat fwiend in Howwywood named Wina Wamont”). The idea was that Lina's voice wasn't just hard on the ears, but hard on the brain as well.
I thought it was funny. Other people disagreed with me. Hard.
One morning, the school sent a car to take me down to the school board’s head offices. They wanted to have a talk with me about my performance as Lina.
The car came by to pick me up at 5:30 AM. I wore a simple, purple lace dress. My hair was kind of greasy and akimbo because I didn’t really get a chance to fix it. Since I was in a situation where I had to choose between brushing my teeth and doing my hair, I went with the teeth. In my mind, keeping your gums healthy always beats out having your hair look nice.
I tuned out most of the drive, but what sticks in my memory begins when we drove down a dark road with wet pavement surrounded by lots of trees. As we continued, it started to rain outside, and the trees Seemed to close in on the road. When we passed the first sign we’d seen Since we got on the freeway, I had that overwhelming feeling I should’ve turned back.
It got dark really quickly. I couldn't tell whether it’s actually night or it’s dark enough from the trees, like in Germany’s black forest. I could feel my stomach drop a little bit when we headed through a road tunnel. Uh oh, I thought, nothing good ever happens in these.
"What do you mean?" the driver asked me. I guess I thought out loud a little too loudly.
"I mean that tunnels are kind of scary to me," I responded, "Princess Diana crashed in a tunnel. People always seem to get carjacked in tunnels, and during stuff like earthquakes and landslides, tunnels always seem to collapse on people."
“You have no need to worry about the tunnel. You should worry about how you’re going to explain your performance to the superintendent.”
As for what I would tell the superintendent, my plan was to say that I wanted to leave my stamp on the school so I would feel a little less broken inside. I felt pretty confident that they'd buy it. Now, I'm not so sure anymore.
The school district’s head office was one of those places where reality felt somewhat altered. It felt more like a pit stop than an actual destination. Even though I was in a ton of trouble, I felt unusually at ease.
I think this is why people take gap years. Existing in between two points in time or between two places actually feels good. You feel like you can and should do whatever you want.
It feels way better than being dragged into one of those situations where everything you say is the wrong thing. I know because that's exactly what my meeting turned into.
I'm not going to play that game. I'm not going to take the bait. Unfortunately, I didn't know what to do, so I walked out.
After I left the room, I got the urge to just run in a straight line. Once I went from the hall to the parking garage, I just bolted. Apparently, if you run fast enough, you can run up a wall.
Running up the wall is mostly a motorcycle thing. you have to move pretty fast to do it. The motorbike sticks to the wall because the friction counteracts gravity. if you aren’t moving fast enough, there won’t be enough friction to stop you from falling. I have no idea how I managed to run that fast.
A minute later, I could hear the superintendent say, “Janice, bring me a very long stick, we are running up the wall after her.”
They were chasing after me.
They didn’t catch up to me. I heard much clattering and swearing soon after. I think they may have needed a longer stick.
A few minutes later, I slowed down just enough that I couldn’t maintain enough friction to counteract gravity anymore. The minute I sensed that I was going to fall I stuck my arms out to break my fall, but I beaned myself in the eyes with my wrists. Much like running fast enough to run up the wall, I have no idea how I managed to do that. Also, I landed in holly bushes. The coarse leaves scratched up my arms and legs.
I felt like such an idiot, but at least I made it outside.
Outside was hot and humid, with a brisk wind and heavy rain. Thick, lush greenery concealed a chorus of screaming frogs. I continued to run until I reached a tool shed. Once I got there, I took cover.
By the time the rain stopped, morning had already come. I crept out of the tool shed, and glared at the offices from behind a tree. But that would’ve done anything. I tried to put my stamp on the school, and it fell apart hard.
Some people treat journeys such as these as vision quests where you come back with certain abilities and a new outlook on life. I don't think I gained anything other than bruises/scratching from falling off the wall and a huge existential crisis.
What makes planning a response so hard? Is my executive function just garbage, or are the people around me trying to set me up to fail? Are people reading my mind, and if so, are they doing so to conspire against me? Questions like these make me ponder the validity of my existence. How do I know what’s right when every decision feels like the wrong one? No matter how hard I plan, something will happen to make it fall apart.

Downton Abbey couple Jim Carter and Phyllis Logan open up on real-life relationship when the cameras aren't rolling
Jim Carter and Phyllis Logan (aka Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes) dished the dirt to us in an exclusive interview that you can read in full in this week's print edition.
The nation was bowled over when a certain butler and housekeeper tied the knot in season six of Downton Abbey back in 2015. Mr. Carson (Jim Carter) and Mrs Hughes’ (Phyllis Logan) marriage was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the 52 episodes of the hit ITV drama.
As the DVD and Blu-Ray release of the period drama’s debut film looms, we caught up with Jim and Phyllis to quiz them about what it was like making the film some four years after filming wrapped up on the show...
“Getting back together was like slipping back into the same old clothes,” Jim told us. “There was a feeling that this film might be the last!”
The pair may play a convincing couple on screen, but both actors actually have recognisable spouses…
Jim has been married for nearly four decades to actress Harry Potter star Imelda Staunton and Phyllis lives in west London with her husband of nine years, Pirates Of The Caribbean actor Kevin McNally.
"Do you socialise with other members of the cast outside work?" we asked.
Jim answers first: "I go out on hot dates with Mrs Hughes, Mrs Patmore, and Daisy the maid! We have hot dinner dates, don’t we Phyllis?"
"Yes, except I missed the last one because I was working," offers up Phyllis.
"Yeah, you were working," replied Jim. "So Mrs. Patmore (Lesley Nicol), Daisy (Sophie McShera) and I could talk about you..."
"I was furious!" jokes Phyllis.
We had to know, so we asked... Where do you go on these dates?
"A nice quiet little restaurant," revealed Jim. Neither worry too much about being recognised, especially not Phyllis. "I don’t get recognised that much. They notice Jim mostly, he’s quite unmistakable!"
"When they hear the voice, that alerts them. Then they see the nose and the eyebrows and I’ve had it," he laughs.
"I had something lovely happen to me recently," Jim reveals when we quizzed him about what his fans are like. "We went to a Q&A event, and there was a guy in the audience who was shaking with nerves. He told us that he was severely autistic and he had made a film about growing up with autism in Ireland with the love of the local community.”
“He said, “Men like Mr Carson have been so important in my life, because their kindness has helped me survive. I have made a film and I want to thank Mr Carson who I think helped me make the film.” I thought, 'Oh, my God!'. It was really brilliant – he’s given me the DVD and I still write to him."
"I had dinner with Dame Maggie the other night," Jim tells us when we ask about his famous co-star. "She was on top form! Maggie’s a legend and I worry that when her generation go... will they ever be replaced? I don’t know that they ever will because the world has changed."

All About the Letter A!
Please List! (at least one)
Animals I Like: Aspins! That’s what we call our native dogs, and usually they’re street dogs. Since they come from the street, they can eat all types of human food with no problem and are generally less likely to contract serious diseases. They make for amazing guard dogs and are just the best companions. Kimi’s part aspin :)
Foods I Like: There’s a local place that makes really good avocado cheesecake, and I’ll go with that.
I Know Someone Who’s (jobs): Anthropologist, air cabin crew, and accountant.
I Wouldn’t Mind Visiting: Athens, Arizona, Antarctica.
Sometimes I Feel: Anxious is the word I’m looking for most of the time these days. Sometimes I also get agitated.
Music I Listen To: Against Me!, Ariana Grande, alt-J, Adele.
Movies I’ve Seen: Anomalisa, A Clockwork Orange, A Nightmare on Elm Street, A Streetcar Named Desire, Amélie, American History X, Adventureland.
Names I Like: Amelie/Amelia, Alessandra, Arden, Ava, Audrey.
And now, onto the random questions!
Are you able to distinguish the difference of when to use “a” versus “and”? If the survey meant a/an, then yes.
Have you ever been in an airplane before? Yessss, a bunch of times. Riding airplanes never fails to make me feel excited, too.
Are you available? No. Which reminds me of some asshole who messaged my Facebook last week and said he wanted “to talk” to me because I’m “pretty.” I was the most horrified demisexual and my fingers went straight to the Block option lol.
What’s the best/funniest “autocorrect” that has happened to you/in your phone? Fuck turning into duck is always funny.
Abercrombie, American Eagle, or Aeropostale for clothes? Pass. I think all three of these shops went out of style like a decade ago.
Do you believe in angels or aliens? I believe in extraterrestrial life but not in the big head, green skin, big black eyes way that they’re usually portrayed as. I don’t believe in angels.
Have you ever been arrested? Nope.
Can you tell the difference between acute, right, and obtuse angles? Yes.
Do you appreciate art? In which forms? I appreciate all kinds of art, but like if I was in an art museum I would always flock to paintings.
Does any part of your body currently ache? Which part? Nothing is aching but my entire body is feeling very hot because it’s noon.
Do you get a lot of acne? Only whenever I’m really stressed in school. When all my deadlines start coming together, there’s always one or two noticeable pimples that show up and it’s always in an unfortunate area on my face, like in the middle of my eyes.
Are you athletic? To an extent, I guess? I can play table tennis and have shown good reflexes in sports like futsal.
Who/what are you attracted to? What attractive qualities do you find appealing? I’m demisexual; who I’m attracted to depends on who I’ve become close with, so having a list of desirable traits around doesn’t work for me.
Favorite author? I don’t have one.
Favorite actor or actress: Kate Winslet.
Do you consume alcohol? Yesssss and am always down for it.
Do you have any ailments? Not anymore! I had a UTI last week but with some very good antibiotics prescribed to me by Angela’s mom I’ve been feeling better for around a week now. It was bad for a while though and I kept having a fever that never went away and I could barely go up and down the stairs without feeling faint.
Do you wear an apron when you cook? No. I don’t think we even have aprons at home.
What time do you normally fall asleep? Midnight or a few hours after that.
Have you ever broken your arm or your ankle? I’ve sprained an ankle before. I had a bad fall, embarrassingly, in front of a rally that was ongoing at school at the time.
What is your age? 22.
Do you typically win or lose arguments? With Gabie, it only ever ends in a truce because neither of us like losing. With my mom, I let her win so that I can pretty much continue staying in this house, but she doesn’t know I could essentially kill her if I just chose to turn up my arguments to 100% lmao.
Do you believe in astrology? No and it’s really hard to like people who take them incredibly seriously. A worst breed of people is those who like astrology but relentlessly shit on the MBTI test like...sure it might be bogus too, but at least you take a million questions about your personality on the MBTI test...
Do you enjoy going to amusement parks? My friends and I don’t ever have time to go to amusement parks, but even if we did, I’d probably be the friend that doesn’t go half the time. I just wouldn’t get my money’s worth in places like those since I don’t go on rides anyway.
Do you like the color aqua? It’s not a bad color at all. < True.
What are your aspirations? Get a great start into my career, save some money to help my parents for a bit, move out, travel some, and ultimately, all the white picket fence stuff with the person I’ll be with. Idk, I’m conventional when it comes to my goals.
Do you have any allergies? I don’t.
What is one of your most awkward moments? I have at least one everyday. Same goes for embarrassing moments.
Describe your appearance: I’m 5′1″, black shoulder-length hair with bangs, dark brown eyes, two ear piercings with one of the piercings ripped open from an accident, and shoulders that are a little bit tilted if you look closely because of my scoliosis.
What kind of an accent do you have? I wouldn’t know how to describe it but I have just a teeeeeny bit of an American accent due to me talking in English most of the time with nearly everyone I know, but it’s not perfect because of my Filipino tongue. It’s the same accent as those who went to private school and speaks English as a first language.
Are you addicted to anything? I don’t have any serious addictions but I will never pass up the chance to eat macarons, cheesecake, and any dish with truffle in it.
What are you afraid of? Death, cockroaches, losing the people I love, being in the kitchen and having something get on fire, getting eaten alive by an animal, drowning in the middle of the ocean or sea.
Are you big on showing affection? Intimately, like if it’s only the two of us together. I don’t like being too showy when in public because I know a good number of people don’t like it.
Do you live in an apartment? Nope. House.
Do you prefer Apple products? Yeah, all the gadgets I use regularly are Apple.
Have you ever received an award? For what? The last one I received was in elementary school for winning in a quiz bee.
Are you an Aquarius or an Aries? No.
Which alarms have you heard before? My phone’s, the fire alarm in emergency drills, the national local alerts on my phone whenever there’s a typhoon, earthquake, or volcano eruption, firetruck siren, ambulance siren, police siren.
Have you ever been under anesthesia before? What was the outcome? No and I am scaredddddd for the possibility. As far as I know that’s an injection too; and besides, I might end up saying embarrassing shit in front of my parents.
Anything else that you’d like to ask? Nopes.

Reylo / Star Wars Quiz
A huge thanks to @dyadinthefxrce and @supremeprince-bensolo for tagging me! It feels nice to know that other people know that I exist
I feel terrible that this took so long for me to reply!
Also, like most of the other participants, my answers are either very close or exactly theirs.
1. When did you start shipping Reylo?
After I first saw The Force Awakens in theaters, I did not ship this. About a week later, I was casually browsing on AO3 when a fic for this ship popped up. I read the whole thing in one sitting and started shipping it from that day on.
2. Favourite Reylo moment?
While I have several (when I saw several, it means all of them), my favorite is the handing of the lightsaber through the Force Dyad. Don’t get me wrong, I live for the Reylo kiss and the throne room scene, but when they passed the saber behind their backs, it had an impact like no other. I can assure you that there was screaming in the theater when this happened.
3. Three words to describe Reylo?
Conflicted, sympathetic, and balanced.
4. Favourite thing about Reylo?
I’m a sucker for conflicted characters. I am in complete love with how Rey was able to break through to Ben and how they just WORK TOGETHER.
Also everything else. Don’t fight me.
5. Favourite character?
I am torn between Ben Solo and Anakin Skywalker. (Like I mentioned before, I love conflicted characters) Anakin was fighting to be good, and the darkness eventually overtook him, but Ben is fighting to be bad, but the light eventually overtook him.
I like them for who they are- NOT THAT THEY ARE CUTE OR HOT.
6. Favourite droid?
From the moment I saw him on screen, BB8 was my child. I love him, and his little droid sass. R2
7. Favourite planet?
It’s between Tatooine and Mustafar. I’m always in for nostalgia and throwbacks to Tatooine, but Mustafar has always fascinated me. Also, I’m obsessed with the Anakin and Obi-Wan fight.
8. Favourite spaceship?
Millennium Falcon. Once I first laid eyes on it, I was completely obsessed with it. It will always be my favorite!
9. Favourite alien species?
While I love literally any alien species that Star Wars can throw at me, the Vultpex caught my eye. I am in love with foxes and crystals, and for them to show a species that literally combined those two things, I was sold immediately!
10. Favourite actor/actress?
While I have several in and out of Star Wars, Adam Driver is my personal favorite. His delivery of how conflicted Kylo was with his father and wanting to be just like Vader was stunning! Also, his little smile broke my heart 🥺
11. How did you get into Star Wars?
As a young girl, my dad was watching TPM on the couch in our living room. Having nothing better to do, I sat with him and watched it. Keep in mind that I asked questions about every five minutes, which pissed him off. From there, I loved the movie. When I got older, I asked him if we could marathon all the movies before TFA came out. Since I was older, a new appreciation and love for them grew from there.
12. Most memorable Star Wars moment?
Around the time when TFA came out when my dad and I marathoned all the Star Wars movies in one sitting. My mom and brother were away for the weekend, so I was able to spend the whole time with my dad as we made inside jokes and asked each other questions.
13. Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader?
Anakin Skywalker. Again, this is getting repetitive, but I love conflicted characters. The way that he outwardly fights against the darkness and his inward conflict with Padme and Obi-Wan honestly touches my heart.
14. Ben Solo or Kylo Ren?
Ben Solo. Kylo Ren is a mask, just another person that Ben strives to be. Ben is not Kylo, he never was, but he tries to hard to be him. He is fighting against the light, but eventually succumbs to it.
15. OT, PT or ST?
There is no real answer for this. I love them all and it honestly depends on my mood.
16. TLJ or ESB?
While I have a strong passion for both and cannot really say I like one more than the other, TLJ has a very slight overtake. Mostly because of Reylo.
17. ROTS or ANH?
How am I expected to choose? If I was forced to, I would end up saying ROTS. I love ANH, but the struggle and conflict in Anakin, along with the battle on Mustafar just slightly pulls ROTS ahead for me.
18. ROTJ or TFA?
TFA. While I still love ROTJ, the new characters and overall story line of TFA have grown a special place in my cold, dead heart.
19. TPM or TROS?
Despite all the problems about it, I like TROS more than TPM. Don’t get me wrong, they’re both okay movies, but my Reylo side is screaming at me in my head and if I don’t listen to it, it will probably slit my throat.
20. Rogue One or Solo?
I don’t understand all the hate that these two movies get! I loved them both, btu Rogue One pulls ahead just slightly for me.
21. Favourite quote?
All of them. Like seriously all of them. I cannot choose. Don’t expect an answer.
22. Favourite meme?
I do not have one. All Star Wars memes are beautiful content that should be protected at all costs.
23. Favourite gif?
Tumblr media
24. If you could change one thing about the Skywalker Saga what would it be?
By popular response, it’s Ben surviving. HE HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL. Even if he had just showed up as a Force Ghost with no lines, it would have been better. Also, Rey should have said “Just Rey” INSTEAD OF “Rey Skywalker”
While I am trying to avoid going on a rant, I think that her saying that destroyed her character arc a bit.
25. Top 3 Star Wars movies?
TFA, ROTS, and TLJ. I love Ben and Anakin, so that was mostly what shoved these to the top. I have a special different love for each one, but with all the amazing performances and beautiful visuals, these three are my favorite.
Thanks again for tagging me!
I will tag these humans: @matt-the-reylo-supporter, @pocketshenanigans
idk anyone else that likes star wars ;-;

I saw you reblogged gifs from Sex Education (so I assume you watch it) and I just recently binged it, after hearing so much about it and I didn’t quite know what to expect going into it. But I found myself liking it and I was surprised and happy about how many important questions and topics it actually deals with, like the important of consent, STD’s, equality, LGBT rights and so on. So I just wonder what your thoughts is on it? (Oh and I love how well written the characters are too)
I really like Sex Education. I was the same as you and didn’t really know what to expect going into it. One of my friends described it as a “classier version of Skins” and I’d say that description is somewhat accurate. It’s similar to Skins in the way that it explores the lives of college students and how realistic and honest it is in doing that. There are a lot of shows that have a young cast and are set at high school or college such Gossip Girl, PLL, TVD, OTH, BtVS, but these shows are completely unrealistic in what they portray. Most of the characters on those shows are supposed to be 17 years old but are being played by actors and actresses in their 20s or 30s, and aside from going to school they live their lives like adults rather than teens. That’s what separates Sex Ed (and Skins) from other shows in the same genre, because it is realistic. All of the young characters on Sex Ed are living their lives as teenagers and not adults. They go to college, they hang out with friends, they go to work part-time, they struggle with their sexuality, they take part in extra-curricular activities, they have difficulties at home in their personal lives and they’re trying to figure out who they are. It’s the stuff that most of us do and go through when we’re that age.
The characters are great. In fact, I think I like every single character on Sex Ed because they’re authentic characters with complexity. Most of them are built on tropes but they all exceed those tropes. Jackson is the perfect example. He’s a handsome jock, star athlete, popular and intelligent. Yet, he shatters any other tropes that would be associated with this type of character. The first trope we’d expect to see is for him to screw around, date loads of girls, be a dick and hurt them and break their heart because he’s scared of commitment. But Jackson truly falls for Maeve and cares about her. He isn’t scared of getting his heart-broken or dating around, he walks into a relationship with Maeve with his eyes and his heart wide open. When he realises Maeve doesn’t feel the same as him, he never lashes out, shames/guilts her or resents her. He continues to be respectful and kind to her. We’d also expect him to be shallow and to judge everything on looks and popularity, but his friendship (and I expect romance, in the future) with Viv shows that Jackson judges individuals based on the person they are rather than how popular they are or how conventionally “hot” they are. Again, we’d expect a character like Jackson to be hung up on his image and what others think, but he doesn’t care. Swimming is part of his image, but he doesn’t care. He decides that he doesn’t want to swim and that he’d rather act instead, and although he’s worried what his mom will say, he doesn’t care what anyone else will think. And Jackson is just one example of a character built on cliched tropes that goes way beyond them and shatters them. Otis fulfils the awkward, shy virgin trope, but he actually has such a deep understanding of sex and relationships which allows him to relate to and connect with a wide range of people. Maeve is fulfils the cool, badass stereotype but is actually very sensitive, caring, empathetic and not afraid to show kindness or love to others.
It’s not just the characters I like either, it’s also the relationships between the characters. Otis and Eric’s friendship is so beautiful. It instantly stood out to me as being special based purely on the fact that it’s a close and intimate friendship between a straight and gay guy. In my experience, I have never known a gay guy to be best friends with a straight guy. This is because of the misconceptions and stereotypes built around masculinity and homosexuality. A lot of straight guys wouldn’t be best friends with a gay guy because they’d be afraid that they would then be labelled as being gay by association. They also think that if a guy is gay that automatically means he must fancy every guy he comes into contact with and would be a sex monster. It’s so silly, incorrect and such backwards thinking, but I’ve seen it so much throughout my life. Yet Otis and Eric love each other so much and they’re so close too. Eric can talk openly to Otis about his romantic and sexual relationships without feeling like Otis is judging him or is embarassed or grossed out (again, a common theme amongst straight guys when they interact with gay guys about sex). It’s just such a great relationship. But then there’s also Jackson and Viv, Maeve and Aimee, Adam and Eric, Otis and Maeve that are all wonderful relationships to watch evolve on-screen. Even seeing Otis and Nicole come together after having sex to address the fact that she may be pregnant was refreshing. Not only does this deal with unwanted and unplanned pregnancy, it shows that when two people come together and have sex it is the responsibility of both of those individuals to deal with the consequences.
The LGBTQA+ representation is brilliant, and it’s so necessary. Even with the increased representation in recent years, there’s still no where near enough exploration of sexuality in television and how it impacts young people. So many teenagers question their sexuality or struggle to understand how they’re feeling or who they are, and shows like this can make all the difference. If young people can relate to the characters they see on-screen, it gives them a way to understand and process their own feelings. People think we’ve come so far and there’s so much understanding around sexuality, but as someone that works in high schools, let me tell you, there isn’t. A lot of young people have never heard the words bisexual, pansexual or asexual, they also don’t understand that sexuality is often fluid or that gender identity and sexuality aren’t the same thing or even necessarily connected. My only issue with the way sexuality is explored on the show is that it’s not as in-depth as it could be. For example, Ola starts to have sex dreams about Lily, takes an online quiz which says she’s pansexual and she just goes with it. It’s usually a lot more complex than that and if someone is questioning their sexuality it can take months and even years to come to terms with that and find a label that they feel comfortable with (if they want to label themselves at all). It was similar with Adam too. He develops feelings for Eric and we know he struggles with that, but then he just turns up at the party and tells Eric he thinks he’s bisexual. How does he come to this conclusion? He’s had sexual relationships with females in the past, we know this, but actually at the start of the show he’s struggling to perform sexually with his girlfriend. So why does he feel that he’s bisexual rather than gay? This is really just me being picky, because in a way I think it’s a little lazy. If a character states that they are something, then that is what they are, but I think more time should be devoted to following these characters as they try to figure out what their sexuality is and how they want to label themselves, instead of the character developing feelings for one character of the same sex and then suddenly jumping to “okay, I’m bi/pan”. Regardless, the LGBTQA+ representation in Sex Ed is amazing and defintiely somethinng that I give a lot of praise to.
Aimee’s story is also a brilliant exploration of the importance of consent and sexual assault. You can read more about my thoughts on this here. But also, hearing Jean tell the kids that it is always their right to say no is very, very important. Throughout my life I’ve had so many people tell me that they had sex when they didn’t want to because they were “just going along with it” but they tell themselves it was okay because they didn’t actually say “no” out loud and therefore it’s not rape. People don’t realise that they can start having sex with someone and change their mind, and if that person doesn’t stop, it’s unconsensual sex and therefore rape. People don’t realise that if a couple have been married for 10 years and the wife wakes up to her husband having sex with her, it’s unconensual and therefore rape. People don’t realise that if someone is drunk out of their mind and barely concious, it’s unconsesual sex and therefore rape. There are so many more scenarios like these that I see people describe as being “grey areas” and it makes me so angry, because they are not fucking grey areas at all. Consent is such a simple concept but people try to over-complicate it. People will often use the “but people don’t verbally give consent when they have sex, they just do it, so how do you know that they’ve actually given consent” - bloody ask them! There is nothing wrong with asking someone, “Do you want to do this”, “Are you sure?”, “Do you feel like this is the right thing?” or saying, “If you want to stop at anytime we can”, “Tell me if I’m hurting you or do something wrong.” If two people are having sex there should be that open communication and trust present to be able to ask these questions and have these conversations, and if there isn’t, then there has to be question as to whether they should be having sex at all. I’ll discuss the importance of communication around sex below. But when it comes to consent, I find it really alarming how much misunderstanding there is around it and how much incorrect information is given out. Consent is probably one of the most important issues around sex that young people should be educated on. It’s the very foundation of sexual relationships, because no consent = no sex.
Overall, the show explores a lot of very important topics that aren’t always featured in shows to the extent that it should be. It could definitley go further with some of the themes it explores, but it covers a lot of ground in a limited time-frame and does more justice to it than a lot of other shows I’ve seen, so I have to give credit where it’s due.
(below the cut is less an analysis of Sex Education and more of a discussion around sex/relationships, stereotypes and misconceptions around them and how poor sex education is in school).
I think it’s important for shows like Sex Education to be made not only because it portrays life as a teenager in a more realistic way (instead of creating unrealistic expectations for young people that they should be living lives of glitz and glamour where they’re at extravagant house parties every week and dating hot older men/women that are doctors or lawyers or business owners), but because it specifically tackles the topic of sex. Let’s be honest here: sex education in schools is really, really, really bad. Kids simply aren’t taught what they need to know about sex and as a result their well-being, safety, happiness and identity is often compromised. If you’re 12 years old (in the UK that’s the age you are in your first year at high school) and experiencing an attraction to someone of the same sex but haven’t been told what that means, why it’s happening or that it’s okay, how is that going to make you feel? If you’re 14 years old and in a relationship with an older guy who’s pressuring you for sex and has told you that he doesn’t want to wear a condom because it’s not as pleasurable for him, how are you going to understand that asking you to do that is not okay or articulate how you feel to your parnter? If you’re 16 and have been in a long-term relationship sexual relationship with a partner that is kind, respectful and loving but you don’t find sex enjoyable or pleasurable, how are you going to know why you feel this way or how to rectify it and discuss it with your partner? And these are just a few scenarios that I can think of off the top of my head. There are so many scenarios, topics, experiences, questions and concerns that teenagers have when it comes to sex and relationships, and unless they’re lucky and have super open, supportive and expressive parents, they most likely won’t have answers to any of their questions.
That’s because sex education (in the UK at least), is all focused on the biology; how the body changes during puberty, how sexual intercourse leads to pregnancy and the health ramifications of contracting an STI. There’s nothing about the mental, emotional and physical side of it, which in my opinion, is the most important part because that’s what directly impacts teenagers. Young people should be prepared and have absolute understanding of the kinds of experiences they may have, what to do if they ever find themselves in a situation that they feel uncomfortable with or that has made them feel insecure, upset, afraid, hurt etc., how to navigate healthy sexual/romantic relationships, what consent is and how to communicate with others about sex. For a lot of young people (and even adults!), sex is treated as such a taboo subject; they’re either too awkward, embarassed or ashamed to talk about it or have been told they should keep those sort of things to themselves. But open communication is so important when it comes to sex, particularly with your partner. I don’t agree with teenagers (below 18 at least) being in serious romantic and sexual relationships, it’s a part of life and it’s always going to happen, so young people should know how to navigate those relationships and be able to communicate with their partner effectively.
This is part of what I love about Sex Ed so much - there’s a complete openness around sex. Jean is a brilliant character and although she’s not a perfect mother, the openness she has around sex is refreshing. Sex is a part of life and it should be treated as such. Adults have this notion that they need to protect kids from sex and not give them all of the facts, but this is more likely to cause more harm in the future when these children grow up and start having sexual experiences. Jean’s openness with Otis is sometimes mortifying, but it’s also a positive thing, because she wants him to feel safe and comfortable to come to her if he’s ever struggling or confused about anything related to sex/relationships. And every child should have that; an adult that they can trust and confide in and even ask for advice on these things, because it is difficult for young people.
I also love that Jean is that she’s not afraid to talk about sex and pleasure. Again, this all stems from the embarassment and shame around sex, but people have such a problem with talking about sex (again, even adults still struggle with it) in terms of being a pleasurable and gratifying act. Kids are usually told sex is between two people who love each other to make a baby. But actually, how true is that? Sex and love aren’t mutually exclusive and it’s more likely for a couple to use contraception to prevent reproduction than it is to be trying to reproduce. Not to mention that same sex couples can’t reproduce naturally, so this explanation completely shuts down the idea of sex between individuals of the same sex, which is ridiculous. The simple fact is that a lot of the time sex is about pleasure. But as Jean discusses, pleasure is so taboo and especially when it comes to females.
I’m so glad the show shed light on this, because as a woman with female friends I’ve definitley noticed this. I’ve had female friends that have been sexually active for 10 years and that have never had an orgasm with their partner. It’s a common occurence for women to go without orgasms for most or the whole of their life, not understanding how to have one or even realising that they’re not having them. In the 21st century, sex is still defined by men and their pleasure. When people think about sex, they think about penetration, they think it begins with insertion and ends when the man has climaxed. Any porn video you watch involving a man and woman will be geared towards men. General perceptions of sex are still built around penises, because apparently they’re just so important that sex can’t be sex without them, right? Wrong! Sex is much broader than this. Women have sex with each other with no penises involved, and let me tell you, it’s still sex. Men and women can have sex without having intercourse. Men and men can have sex without having intercourse. Likewise, for women, penal penetration is not the only way to orgasm, in fact, it’s scientifically proven that it’s the hardest way to have an orgasm. Even today women don’t understand their own bodies or engage in masturbation because they feel that it’s shameful or wrong. We’re still expected to supress and ignore our sexuality and be demure and prudish. Jean absolutely smashes this notion to pieces and I love it, because women have every right to be sexually open and to enjoy sex and derive pleasure from it as men. All women should feel comfortable to masturabte, all women should be able to have pleasure from sex, all women deserve to have a partner who takes the time to understand their bodies and wants to please them, all women deserve to have the freedom to express themselves sexually in whichever way they feel comfortable with without fear of judgement or ridicule.
Sex Education is an important show because it raises questions around these topics and tackles them head-on. I’ve heard people describe it as being too “PC” and trying too hard to be “trendy”, but it’s not. All it’s doing is addressing the experiences, feelings, thoughts and struggles that young people all over the world are going through every day that are misunderstood and not spoken about. The show may not always address this issues in the best way, but it does tackle them and that’s what counts. And I, for one, am glad that shows like this are being made. The title “Sex Education” is the perfect title for this show, because it will educate many of its viewers on sex and teach them things that they didn’t know before watching.
