     *disclaimer: this is written as poly!romantic mc + all dateables

not only did Mc bag the seven lords of hell, they also ended up bagging the prince, his butler, and his highest ranking noble. Yk, as they should.

a/n : we’re gonna pretend Diavolo didn’t say he couldn’t form a pact with us just bc he’s the prince/future king because I think that’s a load of shi—

It all started with you mentioning how pretty you thought Barbatos’ pact was. You said it casually- in passing- when you and the brothers had been over for tea. They were all fighting (with the exception of Lucifer and maybe Beel and Satan) over who’s pact mark looked the best when you dropped the bomb.

“Come oooon, Mc! You don’t havta pick a favorite or anythin’, just tell us which one looks the best!”

“That’s the same thing, moron!” 

“OI!”

Smiling, you picked the choice least likely to start a fight, “I think Barbatos has a pretty sigil. Solomon showed me once.” Yep- there definitely wasn’t any room to argue when they all had their jaws on the floor. 

Oh, but you sent a shock of heat straight through Barbatos, who was the last one expecting your particular reply. 

Not even the uproar from the brothers or the shit eating grin from his master could make that heat dim. In fact, it only grew stronger at the mischievous smile you sent him.

And then you showed up on the castle’s doorstep, bruised and bleeding, while crying out his name. 

“B-bar— Barba-tos! Barbatos!” it was the only coherent thing he could decipher as he watched you sob violently into his chest, fist clutching his shirt so hard he almost thought it’d rip. 

You’d been in the Devildom for so long now, it was a shock that anything could scare you this badly- but when you managed to choke out that a group of demons ganged up on you, the butler felt searing hot threads of possessiveness and rage grip at him. 

They’d touched you- hurt you. You were probably crying out for him while you fought your attackers and he didn’t hear it. He couldn’t hear it.

The final blow to his wavering resolve came only an hour later : 

“Why didn’t you call one of the brothers? You could’ve gotten fatally wounded if you hadn’t been using your magic.” He was scolding you. 

And you were smiling. “I didn’t want one of them at the time. I wanted you.” 

…oh. 

“B-rb…Ba-rb-os…Barbatos!” 

He blinked, staring at you blankly, “Huh?” Did he really just space out? 

“I said I’m sorry for worrying you and putting my life in danger. I’ll be more careful next time and call on my pacts.” 

Your pacts. Pact. “May I have the pleasure of entering a pact with you?” 

Surprised, you stared at Barbatos like he had three heads for a moment. “Me? A p-pact with me? But I thought—“ 

Barb interrupted by grasping your hands and bringing them to his lips, “If you think I do not trust you, I must ask you to think again.” 

You watched him press your intertwined hands against his chest, where his heart is, before he was leaning closer- closer than he’d ever been. 

“I trust you, Mc. Do you trust me?”

Voice nothing more than a whisper and without a trace of hesitation, “Yes. I’ll make a pact with you- I want to make a pact with you.” 

Barbatos’ eyes darkened ever so slightly as he gave you a genuine smile, “Excellent.”

Then his lips were on yours and your hands broke apart so he could cup your face while yours went straight to his hair and you could faintly feel the tingle of your new bond but kissing him felt too surreal for you to even begin deciphering where it was located.

Mephisto was certain he only tolerated you due to your closeness with the seven brothers and his lord- it’s all anybody heard him run his mouth about when you were mentioned. But when he got scolded by his kid brother for saying such things about you, he simply decided he had to see what everyone saw in you- and boy, was he straight up beat down with the realization. 

“Good morning, Mc.” 

Without even questioning why he was suddenly speaking to you out of the blue, you smile brightly and stop walking, “Morning, Mephisto! I like your tie, is that one new?” 

He blinks in surprise— you…noticed? “Yes, it is. I thought I might change things up every now and then.” 

“It’s pretty! Like you!” Not even embarrassed at such a bold comment, you point in the direction of the newspaper club’s office (which was opposite of the student council’s- where you were supposed to be going), “I’ll walk you to your office so we can talk some more, yeah? I don’t get to see you much!” 

One day he caught you taking care of his little brother and the feelings just intensified. 

“Now, now, none of that. You’ll make your eyes all swollen-“ you wiped away the boy’s tears, “and then your little head will hurt-“ your hand ruffled his hair playfully, “and we can’t have that, can we?” 

Mephisto watched you carefully doctor his brother’s scraped knee, not noticing his feet were moving until he was right beside you.

Smiling at the excited ‘big brother!’, you glance up in acknowledgment before placing a bandaid over the injury. “All better!” You kiss his knee, giving him another on the forehead before helping him stand. 

And as you and Mephisto watch the younger demon run off with a wave, he can’t help but feel the slightest bit miffed at the kisses you’d given said demon. It must’ve shown too, because—

“Oh, ‘Phisto,” you couldn’t stop giggling, even after you’d grabbed his face and pulled him down, “If you want a kiss, all you have to do is ask.” 

You kissed him on the cheek, patting it afterwards, before leaving with a grin (and leaving him behind with a blush and a hint of possessiveness). 

Not even a full week after that, Mephisto quickly decided that you simply couldn’t go any longer without it. 

“Form a pact with me.” He stamped down the urge to shuffle nervously under your surprised stare, “..please?” 

Your expression slowly morphed into a giddy smile, “I’d love to make a pact with you, ‘phisto.” Feeling the familiar warmth of the forming sigil, you beamed at him. 

He could feel it too; the bond threading itself together— his first (and only) pact. “Mc…” his tongue felt like lead but he knew what he wanted. All he had to do was ask. “May I have a kiss?” 

“As many as you want.” You sounded breathless as you brushed over his lips with your own, connecting them eagerly once he grabbed onto your hips. 

He nearly jumps when you grab onto his tie, though he steels himself and pulls you even closer, not daring to break the kiss for more than a couple seconds at a time. Now that he’s felt this…Mephisto doesn’t think he can live without it.

Your pact with Diavolo, while he truly wanted to have that relationship and bond with you, mostly happened due to childish jealousy. He’d dealt with your happy ramblings about your pact with Barbatos for months, but then…

“Another pact? With Mephisto? How ever did you manage that?” 

Either you didn’t notice the strain in Diavolo’s voice or you simply didn’t bother pointing it out, your smile stayed as you hummed happily. 

“I didn’t really do anything. ‘Phisto just came up to me all of a sudden and asked to make a pact.” 

“He asked?” If Diavolo wasn’t bothered before, he sure was now. Mephistopheles in a pact? It was simply unheard of, and now, he was the only demon in your group without a pact with you. “I see…”

It was such a petty feeling, because truly, he was thrilled for all of his friends— Diavolo just felt undeniably left out despite no one treating it that way [but him].

“I swear if the four of you stubborn bastards don’t take a break, I’ll make you!” giving a deadpan stare, you crossed your arms and stood in front of the demons seated at the student council table. 

Mephisto relented immediately, having heard of what exactly you can do with your pacts, and chose to go get some coffee. Lucifer- after a quick staredown- followed the noble, but not without leaving a kiss on your hand in silent ‘thanks’. Barbatos and Diavolo, however, remained in their spots.

“I appreciate the sentiment, Mc, but we really must finish; these are documents for RAD’s-”

“Barbatos. Take a break.” you watched his hands release the papers involuntarily, smiling at his incredulous stare, “At least go eat something. Please.” when Barb reluctantly stood from his chair, you turned to Diavolo and leaned to rest your forehead against his. “Just because I can’t make you, doesn’t mean you’re exempt from this. Up- come on.” 

And while his heart was practically beating out of his chest at the care you showed for him, that ugly jealousy still churned inside him at the clear display of difference in your relationships between him and the others. 

Everything finally bubbled over the day you confessed to him :

“Apologies, Mc, but could you…repeat that?” 

Ducking your head to hide the flush of your cheeks, you fiddled with your fingers, “I like you, Dia- if that wasn’t already obvious, and Barbatos and a few of the others agreed that I should tell you and ask if you’d like to date me too…”

Diavolo answered a bit too fast and desperate for his liking, “Yes! I-I mean, yes, I would be overjoyed to be in a relationship with you, Mc.” 

“But?” you squinted, knowing something was- and had been for a while- on his mind. “What’s wrong? You’ve been like this for weeks.”

“Nothing is wrong, I just…” Follow his heart or follow the rules? “I just want to be in a pact with you like all the others.” he averted his eyes, feeling childish when he spoke those feelings aloud. 

You only giggled, “That’s it, huh? I would love to enter a pact with you, Dia. Wait- are you even allowed? As the prince and future king, I mean?”

As soon as you agreed, his hands were already cupping your face, “I don’t care-” his lips finally, finally met yours as his feet began moving, walking you backwards until you hit the wall, “-I decide what I want and I’ve wanted you for so long, been jealous of the others for so. long.”

With the pact etching itself into your skin, you couldn’t deny him anything in that moment, completely enamored with the way Diavolo was practically begging for you, still, even though he already had you.

When Simeon fell completely, wings black and horns protruding from his head, he desperately needed something to ground him while he worked through his new body and new status. 

“They’re so pretty, Si.” You were brushing through his wings softly, smiling at the contrast it brought to your glittery nails, “Your horns, too.” 

Simeon shifted, nervous despite your words at letting anyone else see his new form. “Do you really think so?” his spine straightened at the feeling of your lips pressing kisses down his back. 

“I do. You’re so beautiful- angel, human, or demon.” Nuzzling your head into his neck, you smiled against the skin, “In fact, I’m going to have to fight off so many demons just to keep you to myself.”

That made him chuckle, body relaxing into yours easily, “Nonsense…that might be quite a sight, though.” 

Adjusting wasn’t hard— he thinks he had an easier time at it than the brothers, but he couldn’t help but feel something was missing.

It was difficult to not fiddle with his outfit, but in Simeon’s defense, this was his first time at one of Diavolo’s formal parties as a demon— and the first time everyone saw his demon form. 

Tsking, you gently slapped his hands away and re-straightened his shirt. “Don’t pay any attention to the staring. You’re just too pretty to look away from.” 

He knew it was because, in all technicalities, he was a fallen angel, even if he’d been human before this. But he also knew that if anyone was an expert in unwanted spotlight attention, it was you. 

“I’ll try not to, thank you, Mc.” Simeon smiled at your pleased expression, “May I have this first dance?” 

As the night went on, he watched you dance with the other nine demons (and with the other members of Purgatory Hall). Everything was like it always was- nothing changed after he became a demon. Still though….

“Simeon!” you called out with a bright smile, hand waving him over to join the dancing circle you, Mammon, and Asmo had created. 

He felt as if there was something absent in him, something he couldn’t describe. “I’m coming.” 

Finally, Simeon figured out the missing puzzle piece. 

Laying with you, clad in only your underwear, always brought him a sense of love and tranquility. He simply couldn’t get over how vulnerable and exposed you were willing to be around him.

“Siiimeonnn~” you sang, laughing when his eyes fluttered sleepily. Your fingers carded through his hair, making him hum in delight, and you hummed right back at the faint feeling of his nails tracing over your pacts. 

He continues to trace the slightly raised skin, not thinking too much about it until you mumble something about how he’s always had a fascination for the marks adorning your body. At that, Simeon sits up quickly, all traces of tiredness gone.

You follow his lead worriedly, “Simeon? What’s-”

“Make a pact with me. Please, Mc, please, I don’t think I’ve ever wanted anything more- I knew something was missing when I became a demon and now I know it’s because everyone else is bonded to you but me. I couldn’t have that with you as an angel or human but I can now. Please, Mc, allow me to be selfish just this once.”

“Oh, Si…” there was an undeniable warmth blooming in your chest. “You never needed a pact to feel bonded to me— you’ve always been perfect the way you are.” 

Simeon let out a shaky breath, allowing you to shift closer while his heart thumped wildly in anticipation. 

You moved even closer, and closer still, until you were practically in his lap. “You can be as selfish as you want with me. I’m yours, and now-“ your lips brushed, “-you belong to me, in turn. I’m honored you trust me enough for this, Simeon, of course I’ll make a pact with you.” 

And although your lips have met in this dance time and time again in the past, and will surely do the same in the future, it still sent shivers down his spine and heat to his face. 

When his hands move to trace your pacts out of habit again, his is the first he finds- guided by your own hands- and devils does that make Simeon’s head spin; he’s finally complete.

++extra reverse!bonus [no specific demon form]

For someone with 72 pacts and ongoing shameless attempts at getting Lucifer into one, it surprisingly didn’t occur to Solomon once you became a demon (in his defense, he was more focused on your well being and adjustment). 

“You need to stop scratching, Mc. I know it itches, but you’re going to get an infection. You’ll get used to them eventually.” 

While he was lecturing, you were practically boneless in his lap, keening as he softly rubbed your horns and applied ointment on the irritated areas. 

“Are you even listening to me?” He huffed in false annoyance, feeling a smile fight its way onto his face when you whined at the loss of his touch. 

Nudging your head against his hand, you stubbornly huffed right back. “Yes. Don’t be mean- feels good. You're so sweet to me…” 

“Don’t get used to it, darling apprentice. You’ll learn how to do this yourself eventually, too.” 

And while you did in fact get the hang of caring for your own demon form, you simply enjoyed when he did it instead. 

“You know, each of the ten demons you have wrapped around your finger would jump at the chance to help you.” 

You hummed in agreement, curling in on yourself at the blissful feeling of Solomon grooming your extra appendage(s). 

He lifts a brow, “And yet I’m still called, why? No complaints here of course, but I am curious.” 

“Want you.” Stretching, you shift onto his lap to be closer, “Don’t you want me anymore, Sol?” 

Solomon inhales sharply, tilting his head so you have more room where you’re nipping at his pulse point with your sharpened canines, “Of course I do, Mc.” 

The lightbulb finally goes off in his brain when he catches you glaring at his bare upper body, to which he’s all too happy to oblige you : 

“What’s with that look?” Based on the tone of his voice, he very well knew what said ‘look’ was for. 

You bared your teeth anyway. “You’re mine.” nails scratched over the pacts on his lower stomach as your hands gripped and prodded at every small inch of bare skin you could see. 

Solomon wanted to see just how possessive a new demon could get. Did you have those instincts yet, especially since he was already yours beforehand? “I am. So why don’t you prove it?” 

“Gladly.” Your voice came out as a low growl, hands finally coming to a stop when your fingers brushed ever so slightly below his belt. “I think mine will go riiight…here.” You pressed down over his pelvis firmly. 

He tried not to stutter, “o-oh?” but he could feel the blush snaking up his face. 

“Make a pact with me, Solomon. ‘S not fair you have so many marks but mine…mine’ll be the prettiest, though…especially on you.” 

“Fuck- yes, I’ll form a pact with you, Mc—“ Solomon’s back arches at your pact etching into his skin, having forgotten the feeling, but the knowledge that it’s yours makes it all the more better. 

“mine, mine, mine. Is this proof enough, or do I need to prove it further?”

League of Legends/HEARTSTEEL!AU - Kayn x Ezreal

A/N: is heartsteel still cool or are we over the topic already? Anyway, idc, i wanna write for my babies so you can expect more on the way eheheh. Also, I'm lowkey sorry for how I wrote Kayn in this one, I'm still not sure how to make it when someone has a demon speaking inside their head

Summary: Ezreal wants to sit on his favorite spot on the couch, but Kayn is already sitting on it, so... they start bickering each other, yeah.

Word count: 1170 words

Kayn leaned his head back on the couch, looking down to the cellphone in his hands as he mindlessly scrolled through his social media feed. He had just left the practice room and, now, besides Rhaast’s voice, he could also hear Yone’s scolding ringing inside his head. What a hassle.

Still, that was part of being in a band, Kayn thought, and it was probably better than not having a plan. He wanted everything to be perfect, so of course they needed to practice over and over and over, as many times needed - but it didn’t make people less annoying to deal with.

“You shouldn’t have let him have the last word”, Rhaast said inside his head, making Kayn roll his eyes. “It would only make things harder, I didn’t feel like picking up a fight. Now shut it, will you?” The rapper groaned, taking his eyes back to the screen.

“We need to show them who is in charge!”, the demon continued and Kayn tightened his grip around his cellphone. He was already annoyed on his own without Rhaast’s voice occupying the room for his thoughts, he didn’t need another issue to deal with.

“I told you to shut up,” Kayn groaned, taking a deep breath as he closed his eyes, wishing the demon had a physical body so he could punch him in the face. Maybe if he punched himself hard enough Rhaast would feel it as well? Should he try it?

While considering how he could violently solve the problem with the one inside his head, Kayn’s inner dialogue was interrupted when a third voice called for him. “Who are you talking to?”

The rapper opened his eyes, looking to Ezreal, who was idly standing in front of him. The vocalist had already changed into a more comfortable outfit, with a pair of flannel shorts and an oversized hoodie and just that sight alone was already enough to make Kayn feel something stuck at the back of his throat. An insult, he thought (or hoped so).

“None of your business, little prince,” he teased, making Ezreal roll his eyes. 

“Whatever. Move over,” Ezreal ordered and, before Kayn could process the meaning of those words, the vocalist was already trying to squeeze in the little space between Kayn and the couch’s arm.

The pink-haired guy groaned, half confused, half annoyed, not able to figure out what his bandmate was about. “Really? Fuck off, Ez, there are plenty of spots,” Kayn hissed, being pushed to the side despite his attempts to stay.

“Yeah, but I like this one,” Ezreal replied like the spoiled prince he was, the rapper thought, pressing himself against the couch in an attempt to put up a battle.

But it was all in vain.

After a couple of grunts and pushes, the vocalist managed to sit - or, at least, partially. Without enough space in the little corner, Ezreal decided to shamelessly rest his legs on top of Kayn’s. 

“See? No one respects you here, Kayn”, Rhaast promptly said inside his head, making Kayn roll his eyes. “Don’t you think I had enough of you?” He barked, saying each word out loud.

“What?” Ezreal raised an eyebrow, moving his eyes up from his cellphone’s screen to stare at Kayn. “I just got here, besides, I told you to move over .”

“Not you, I- I wasn’t- agh, forget it, loser,” Kayn groaned, finding himself cornered in a losing battle against those two. Ezreal crossed one ankle over the other, humming happily when he noticed Kayn was too busy… well, being Kayn to shove him away. The vocalist got comfortable while the rapper, on the other hand, became more irritated. 

Just as Kayn was about to snap - not sure if at Rhaast or at Ezreal - an idea of how to turn the tables in his favor popped up in his head. He smiled, slowly resting his hands on top of Ezreal’s legs. 

Feeling Kayn’s touch, Ezreal sighed, lowering his cellphone to look at him. “You know, this is not half-ba- h-huh? What’s with that face?” He stuttered, feeling scared as Kayn stared at him like a predator to its prey.

“You sure you don’t wanna move, prince?”

Ezreal blinked, trying to figure out what he was about, but shook his head, shrugging off any doubt. “Duh, yeah? I want to sit here,” he pouted, fearing the consequences those words could have, beginning to think of a thousand ways Kayn could be mean to him - but not this one.

“H-hey, what ahahar- ah, nohoh! K-Kahayan, stohohop it!” He giggled nervously, trying to jerk his foot out of Kayn’s reach, but his leg was firmly held back, leaving his foot at the mercy of Kayn’s mean tickling.

Scribbling right over Ezreal’s arches, Kayn chuckled at the other’s reaction. How could he not have thought of this sooner?

“Tickling? Seriously?”, Rhaast barked inside his head, but Kayn could barely pay attention to the demon’s word, way too entertained with finding out a way to make Ezreal laugh harder. “Is our little prince ticklish? Of course he is,” Kayn teased, tracing his fingers down the middle of Ezreal’s sole, making the vocalist squeal in mirth.

“K-KahAHahayn, lehehet go, you ihiHIH- OKAHAY! S-sohohorry!” Ezreal cackled when Kayn quickly retaliated his offense with tickles near his toes, a spot that seemed to be awfully effective for Kayn’s goal.

“What’s wrong, Ez? Am I being too harsh for your delicate porcelain skin?” 

“S-shuHUHup uhup! I sahAHaid I’m sohOHOrry!!” Ezreal gasped, hitting Kayn’s leg with his free heel, trying to not fall off the couch as he squirmed with laughter.

“So will you quit being a brat?” Kayn demanded, scratching the bottom of Ezreal’s heel when he didn’t get an answer in the first seconds after his question. “Or should I make this lesson a little longer?”

“YehHEHEAH- AhAHaha, c-cohohome on! PlehEHEhase! Just s-stahahap!” Ezreal pleaded one last time before finally getting a break. He laid down in defeat, feeling like his body would melt on top of the couch, but soon realized a thing: Kayn hadn’t push him away - nor moved at all.

Was that just a way of messing with him, Ezreal thought, just to make him laugh or have some fun? The vocalist narrowed his eyes, staring at Kayn in confusion, having some ideas that made his heart skip a beat. He didn’t know why, but Kayn seemed a little more relaxed now, even allowing Ezreal to rest his legs on top of his again - this time with no tickles.

About 10 minutes later… or what is 20? Anyway, a couple moments later, when getting ready to get out, K’Sante let out an amused, but proud chuckle when he saw the duo sprawled over the couch together. “Good to see you two are getting along.”

“We’re not”, they replied together, talking as if Ezreal wasn’t comfortably laying on top of Kayn’s lap. 

K’Sante shook his head, thinking it would be better to not disturb those two - surely they would figure themselves out… eventually.

There are my favorite characters and their love stories as a list. Enemies to lovers

Drama: Her Royal Highness/长公主在上 Characters: Gu Xuanqing x Li Yunzhen Screentime: Main A boy is sent to be a servant in the unruly princess`s palace in order to find some dirt about her and to help his master to overthrown her, but something goes wrong... The HE is attached.

Drama: The Legends/招摇 Characters: Li Chenlan x Lu Zhaoyao Screentime: Main A leader of a demonic sect died trying to get demonic sword. Her soul returns to the world full of wish to get revenge on the current leader of her sect, who, as she thinks, killed her in the past. Found the way to be close to him, she learns that he wasn't the reason of her death and, moreover, desperately in love with her for many-many years. This is an adaptation of the novel "Ostentatious Zhaoyao", which I love more than a drama, but it's a good story in both variants. The HE is attached (although it`s a little bit obscure in the drama).

Drama: Till the End of the Moon/ 长月烬明 Characters: Tantai Jin x Li Susu Screentime: Main A boy who is destined to become a Demon God and to destroy the World tries to fight his doom. In a process, he falls in love with a transmigrator, who was sent 500 years back in the past to prevent his transformation into a Demon God. The irony is,making him falling in love is the only way to kill him for good... It`s an adaptation of the novel "Black Moonlight Holds the BE Script", which I like way-way-way more than the drama, not the least because the drama has BE and the novel has HE. I just watched it as a visually beautiful fanfic to the novel.

Drama: Love Between Fairy and Devil /苍兰诀 Characters: Dongfang Qingcang x Xiao Lanhua Screentime: Main My favorite drama of all times! Trying to save her love, a girl accidently falls into a secret prison for immortal criminals, revives the most fearsome demon of all times and heals his ability to feel. Later, forced to spend his time together with the girl from the enemy camp, the demon finds out that he actually likes her... The HE is attached. I wrote A LOT about them and made recap of the whole drama from the point of their relationship development in these posts: one, two, three, four, five and six.

Drama: My Journey to You /云之羽 Characters: Gong Shangjue x Shangguan Qian Screentime: Secondary In order to destroy the martial artist's clan, a female assassin was sent in there. While she is trying to seduce one of clan's young masters, he tries to expose her lies, but, eventually, falls in love with her. Unrequited. Maybe. This story has an open ending. My analysis of their relationship is here.

Drama: Butterflied lover /风月变 Characters: Ling Changjin x Bao Zhu Screentime: Secondary A wicked nobleman marries a princess because of her miraculous blood: it`s able to bring his zombie sister back to life. The princess allows him to treat her bad because she has been in love with him for a long time and believes he is a good person. Bit by bit he starts believe in it himself and begins to cherish his wife more... The ending is obscure (in a traditional Chinese way).

A tragedy, but a beautiful one.

Drama: The Legends/招摇 Characters: Gu Hanguang x Shen Qianjin Screentime: Minor "The Legends" once more! The main doctor of a demonic sect is in love with a leader of a righteous sect. A girl is not allowed to love anyone, otherwise she will suffer from the poison, so he anonymously sends her packages of medicinal herbs. She is curious about anonymous sender, too. But nothing can be kept in secret forever... Unfortunately, no HE for these two. In the novel he is safe and sound, but he has no love plotline at all. So is a price of love Т_Т.

Hongjoong - Dyna Blade

In Kirby Super Star Ultra, Dyna Blade is a huge colorful bird that will do anything to protect her children. You can fight her after fighting King Dedede in Spring Breeze. Hongjoong is similar to Dyna Blade since he'd do anything for his fellow bandmates kids. His hair has undergone so many color changes. I don't know how his scalp is holding up lol I'm surprised he hasn't pulled a Sehun yet. Only Yunho lol

Seonghwa - Dark Nebula

Originally, I had him for Dyna Blade since he was told he looked like an angry bird back in the days plus he's more motherly so it would make sense. However, I remember that his name roughly means to be a star and his name backwards means Mars. In relation to this galaxy themed thing we got going on here, I decided to choose Dark Nebula. Dark Nebula is the final boss in Kirby Squeak Squad. He's a huge black star with a single pink eye in the middle who gave Daroach ultimate power towards the end of the game. Seonghwa's long black hair is literally giving me life ever since I saw those Coachella pics and vids so I wouldn't be surprised if he put on pink eye contacts and cosplayed as his own version of Dark Nebula. Sometimes, even the brightest stars can suck you in.

Yunho - Void Termina

Void Termina is the final boss in Kirby Star Allies. I honestly had no context behind this other than the fact that Yunho is tall and big and scary only when he's mad though.

Yeosang - King Dedede

Yeosang literally looks like a fucking prince so it shouldn't be a suprise that he's King Dedede. I still remember that one video where he was able to hammer down a shit ton of nails in mere seconds. Homie is strong af so I'm sure he'll be able to swing around that huge hammer that Dedede has.

San - Marx/Marx Soul

Oof. I remember fighting Marx in Milky Way Wishes. He was this innocent little bean until he revealed his plans to control Pop Star and he turned demonic after that. This is literally San when you plant him on stage. Marx Soul is utterly fucking worse and I remember having major difficulty fighting him. I feel like demon mode San fits perfectly with Marx Soul. His stage presence is insane. Marx insane lol

Mingi - Galacta Knight

This motherfucker has had pink hair and now has white hair so I decided to put him as Galacta Knight. In addition, when I imagine Galacta Knight as a human, I envision a tall man with huge angel wings sticking out his back and the tips touching the floor, the white shield with the huge pink star in the middle roughly being the same size as Captain America's shield, the pink lance being larger than life, and the mask covering his entire face so you only see the sharp wolf eyes through that mask slit. Yeah I envision Mingi being the human version of Galacta Knight. Will he have his short pink hair or long white hair though? It's up to the imagination ig lol

Jongho - Meta Knight

Ngl, I originally thought of Mingi being Meta Knight since he's my ult and Meta Knight is my favorite Kirby character of all time. However, I remember playing Meta Knightmare Ultra and this one scene popped up. Galacta Nova asked Meta Knight what his one wish was and of course, in true lone swordsman fashion, Meta Knight answered that he only wishes to grow stronger. In that Vanity Fair video, Jongho revealed that he was born with power and as he talked, he exuded that damn power. That's when I knew that he was more fit for Meta Knight rather than Mingi. Also, now I'm imagining Jongho as the human version of Meta Knight with his lilac hair and hands gripping Galaxia (the name of Meta Knight's gold sword) with that 49.1 kg strength, and piercing yellow eyes through the mask. In addition, I now want Jongho to dye his hair an indigo color since technically, Meta Knight's Kirby form is indigo colored in the DS version of the Kirby games.

first, acadimileth has a special spot in my heart. i know some people dont like the teacherxstudent thing, but i think with dimileth works perfectly without too many moral issues: 1) dimitri and byleth are close in age, 2) it's not our modern world, but a fantasy/medieval ages-like, 3) him being a FUCKING PRINCE outclasses her being a teacher, in the "omg she has power over him" argument speaking. also, they dont do anything while dimitri is still a student, the in-game romance happens after 5 years of byleth sleeping, plus 1 year of war where byleth is not a teacher anymore.

so, acadimileth is one of my fav dimileth type. i love when dimitri is shy thinking about his professor and his inner turmoils, and i love that byleth slowly learns how to have friends, how to feel emotions, and how to understand that the funny feeling she feels in her heart everytime she thinks about dimitri is something more than "simple friendship" eueue :D also hot bc forbidden.

also for three houses, i like dimileth with feralmitri after the time-skip. i may be ace, but feralmitri makes me feel Things 👀 ahem anyway. the angst, the hurt/comfort, feralmitri making feral sex with his professor, it's just *chef kiss*

i also enjoy a good CF!dimileth lovers to enemies (to lovers), but i need my happy ending or i'll get sad t.t

as for three hopes, i love enemies to lovers, and reincarnation au!!!!! best if there's both! dimitri fights the ashen demon on the battlefield, but he's so mesmerized by her he almost gets killed, but then the ashen demon stops her sword, they look at each other... in general, i love mutual pining, especially dimitri pining for his professor, while byleth is not fully aware of her feelings and can even get jealous! i love soulmates au bc i'm a sucker for soulmates; in both canon and modern au. i love when dimitri gets feral for his beloved, and i love when byleth learns feelings thanks to dimitri.

so, yeah, i like almost every dimileth dynamic xD my only "turn-off" from a fic is a bad ending, and/or if dimileth is not endgame. i need them to be happy or i'll CRY for real cwc

It is to no one's surprise just how amazing your writing is and how different each aemond you write is, with each character having their own psychological drives and opinions when it comes to their ambitious, wants and view points in the world. (Which just speaks to your amazing writing skills!!)

Having that said, I have a fun little question: what would the aemonds' from different fics of yours, think of each other if by off chance they were to meet? For instance, what would Aemond from the taste of shame this of Aemond from rage | Revange | Relief (just an example, Ofc you can pair which ever aemond from which ever au you wish). Would they get along? Hate each other? Feel envious or better than them? Would they feel appald or empathize with the situation they and the Mc are in (assuming they would know the context of the universe they come from)?

Naruto-Characters as Warhammer 40k-factions

After doing something like this with atla-characters, I thought it was fun to do this with Naruto-characters. Again, this is gonna be very silly. Also all 40k factions, not just astartes-legions

Itachi: Night Lords. Renegade that uses copious amounts of terror tactics and there would be a lot more dead if someone else did the job (which doesn‘t justify what they did). Also fan favorites with black eyes, black hair and pale skin. Tough upon further thinking, Harlequin might also work? Very strong, insanly fast, kind of fragile and the terror tactics are more mind fuckery than skining people. Kisame: Carcharodons. Guys with a sharktheme and a lust for blood and I like them a lot. Samehada is allready nearly a chainsword! Sasori: The Mechanicum greatly appreciates your effort in replacing your flesh with machine-bits. Also human-puppets are pretty close to servitors Hidan: Gruesome murder for the sake of gruesome murder and personal entertainment? Sounds like the Drukhari are gonna love him. He even prolongs his life with the suffering of others! Or Slaanesh. Slaanesh would also work just not aesthetically. Kakuzu: Rogue Trader. Near infinite personal freedom and a ton of money? Yeah, he would be up for that (also they are allowed to keep Drukhari around) Konan: I‘m gonna say Sisters of Battle or Sisters of Silence, I can‘t quite remember if she sees Nagato more as a god or just a powerfull guy.

Tobirama: Inquisition. Just look at the guy who invented necromancy to use undead as a never ending tide of bombs and tell me that he wouldn‘t enjoy a little exterminatus from time to time and having waaay too much power over people. Hashirama: I‘m gonna say Exodite Eldar just for the nature-theme. Maybe also avatar of Isha? They are usually nice and have healing stuff, but you still don‘t wanna piss them of Madara: Chaos champion or demon prince, maybe he get‘s a upgrade at some point. Either Khorne or Chaos undivided, because while he does a lot of war and murders a lot of people, he also does some other stuff.

Tsunade, Shizune and Sakura: Space Marine Apothecary. Tanky battle medic. Gaara: Blood Angels. Starts out bloodcrazy and only wanting to fight but he get‘s better and ends up beeing a pretty nice guy. Also both are from deserts. Sasuke: Raven Guard maybe? He‘s suitably emo looking and Raven Guard and Night Lords really dislike each other. Orochimaru: Magos Biologis or Drukhari Homuculi coven. Doing weird, definetly unethical human experimentation as one does. Kabuto: Necrons or maybe something Nurgely? Just a guy commanding legions of the undead. Thousand Sons might also work, a sorcerer controlling empty hulls of what once were people.

Hyuuga-clan: Navigator House, eyerelated superpowers they are super secretive about, a lot of power but isolated from wider society and definetly too much inbreeding Jinchuuriki: Maybe Titans Princeps? Humans capable of controlling giant Battle-things but if they aren‘t carefull, that things mind can take over.

Are there OnS characters you dislike? Or characters you also like, but to a lesser extent [than Ferid]?

The previous albino version of Crowley pissed me off quite a bit, to be honest.

I mean hearing your little brother tell you that he does not see a point in living and you reply with a grin that is why you trust him that he will not usurp your throne...

He is selfish, blinded only by his dream of being king.

And Ferid who tried at least a little to translate his real feelings.

I mean, that is what Ferid felt, and that is what he struggles to say, staring blankly, with a mechanical smile. It is painful.

But, that was a momentary rage for me.

Because his older brother also had a bad upbringing. This is how princes were raised in the Middle Ages and the flashback shows how much the fight for power damages family relationships.

Especially since this brother reincarnated as Crowley. I think his soul paid enough for his ignorance and being a selfish and irresponsible brother to Ferid in his previous life.

Now, seriously answering your question.

No, there are no characters I dislike in OnS.

Maybe this is how I am. I do not think there is any character I do not like in any book, series, manga.

I like to understand every point of view, every message a character wants to convey. And in the OnS universe, all characters are gray, actually.

The universe itself is a gray one, born of the suffering of a wounded god, in fact.

And that is what I find fascinating about this story, honestly.

Every character has good sides, bad sides, and a reason for their actions. And they all want, in the end, meaning, acceptance, love.

If you read the story carefully, I do not think you can hate anyone.

Obviously, it is natural to have preferences. To feel that you resonate better with one character, less with another.

But I think that the author of OnS is not trying to demonize anyone, but to show how everyone is the product of the world, of the environment, and that they all carry within them a generational trauma that they must learn to overcome.

And that is why I love this story so much.

As for my favorite characters (besides Ferid), there are several.

The character I like the most after Ferid, is Rígr Stafford.

Because behind his "evil father" mask, he hides a very sensitive soul. And he learned to hide his real feelings, not to communicate, but only to act on these hurt feelings.

In a way, I think that is why Ferid became attached to him as to his father, because they have something in common.

Something they could not materialize into a healthy father-son relationship, because of this lack of emotional communication.

Then I really like Urd Geales. Because he is the one who stays there, regardless of the consequences and how much the world around him is destroyed. That is, he, as an angel, chose to live in hell just to be with his brother (Rígr the angel). That says a lot about him.

And honestly, I adore Mahiru Hiiragi. Perhaps because she carried a great deal of pain and burden alone and was forced into a series of horrific actions. And her only wish before death was,

"The next time I am reborn, I want to be an ordinary girl".

I adore Shinoa too, for many reasons. Both sisters have my admiration.

I can say that I am more interested in characters that seem very controversial, like Ferid, Rígr, Mahiru, vampires, Sika Madu.

But this, precisely, because they are, in fact, the most sensitive, the ones who have been challenged the most by life. And their stories raise deep questions about humanity and world at large.

Something I am very interested in.

I could talk a lot about this.

I could write an essay on why Ferid is my favorite.

if you're still doing the character ask game: mcu loki - 2, 3, 7, 8? (i know that's a lot, but i feel like they go together. you can just pick one pair if you like)

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

My love for Loki is because he is a schemer (I even love the pre-reincarnation evil old man comic book version). I just love sneaky, scheming characters that are disliked by those around them for either unfair or fair reasons. It's the trait I am drawn towards (see my love for SkekSil). I love how contradictory his traits are. His self-hatred and grandiosity. I love that he even loses when he wins. I also find him very projectable/relatable? Maybe because I also have difficulty maintaining relationships. I definitely think a part of me is so attached to the concept of Loki due to how Christianity demonized him, the most notable aspect in the MCU being Loki's horned helm that made my very Catholic mom scream at the fucking TV.

3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?

This is hard because I feel like the flaws add onto him. My least favorite thing is his tendency to resign to shitty conditions. On relationships and plans. This can be shown by his sabotage of relationships (e.g. Sif). And his sabotage of plans that might prove too risky (e.g. trying to betray Thor in Sakaar so he won't leave to fight Hela and potentially die). Loki's a very pessimistic character, I'd say. While I am glad in the series he didn't become a Time cop, he still shows strong signs of that pessimistic streak by going at fixing the problem on his own without really talking things out.

7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?

My favorite HC (by 100indecisions) is that he has mental scar tissue from the mind stone's influence that makes him difficult to enchant. I think I've claimed that I forgot it was a HC when S2 aired and people were wondering why he didn't just let Sylvie enchant him. I also like to see how people HC his magical abilities.

I love psychological analyses that don't denigrate mental illnesses. And I love analyses on motifs and symbolism, or interpretations of the character as metaphor for neurodivergence. I also love trauma HCs as the angsty bitch that I am.

Although I am a grimdark bitch, I enjoy GOTG + Asgard mashups where Loki didn't die in IW. He's a fun character to have interact with the GOTG, and there's the question of whether he'd know Gamora and Nebula.

And there's some cool TVA fics like pantiara's "Trapped in Time."

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

I dislike HCs where he's this gentle bookish prince that has NEVER touched a blade nor killed anything before Thor (2011). Did you all not see him display combat skills in pretty much everything he's been on?

I loathe the way most people talk about Loki. Either he deserves eternal suffering, was evil from birth, "pretended" to kill himself, and has evil personality disorder, or he's "too good" to have the personality disorder and it's actually evil Odin that has the personality disorder.

And my least favorite kind of Loki fic is Frostiron where it's revealed Loki is actually as nice as freaking Jesus. Loki should be messy and not some waifish victim, especially if he comes from Asgard, land of "We don't talk about our feelings". And lol, I just don't like Tony.

I guess I also think ship wars are pointless and obnoxious.

How to fight your doom (Pt. 3)

Episodes 9-13 From now on, Devil is interested in Girl not only because of the curse. Нe likes that Girl likes him and, as a result, he likes Girl back. And it changes his behavior, making his attitude more obvious. He could protect her just as before, by forcing her to stay always within his eyesight, but instead of it he secretly gives her an amulet so he could protect her from afar (because she didn`t want him to be here). This amulet is made of Blood of Devil`s Heart, that is very xianxia thing too (In c-dramas I have watched this is the most powerful magic of immortal beings, which is used to save and to protect the most important people. Extracting it out of one`s heart is very painful and destroys part of one`s cultivation. Maybe it doesn`t work this way in this story, but I like to think of it so). And then he says that he doesn`t want to disappoint her, so he would wait until the most important for her meeting is over to ask her again to fix the Destiny Book.

So, they like each other and they are equal for now: some ordinary fairy and some ordinary demon. But as we know, she thinks he is an ordinary demon only by accident (the power of accident in this story is HUGE): she sneezed while he was introducing himself so she didn`t hear his true name. And sooner or later she should face the truth and cope it somehow.

Btw, it`s funny, that in this story Heavenly Emperor says many times, that God of War is the only equal to Devil, but we repeatedly can see that he is not. Even with the help of his hypocritical friend he can`t beat Devil. The situation in Emperor`s Hall brings Devil`s and Girl`s relationships on the next level by revealing their misalliance: he is not just ordinary demon.

"So, you are Dongfang Qingcang".

She cries because this level of caring she saw only from her long gone Mistress. And he fights all the Fairy Realm forces including Heavenly Emperor himself to take her back! First of all, of course, he protects his life, but he doesn`t destroy Emperor`s Hall ONLY because Girl asks him not to do so. He does as she said because her opinion is important to him. He hopes to win her heart.

This scene is beautiful too: he doesn`t kill God of War because of Girl`s plea but also he tries to show her that people like GoW never choose her over their duty. Unlike Devil himself (and Devil will choose her over his duties plenty many of times). She is in love with GoW and Devil wants to win her heart over him, so he tries to show her what he can do for her everything that her dream beloved can`t. It`s the right way to impress the girl.

"Do you want to save her or your Shuiyuntian?"

But now their relationships change a lot. She knew him before like a caring criminal who is in love with her. And now she knows that he is also the most fearsome monster in the world, covered with blood of fairies as well as his own father`s, a man, who was hated by everyone in the Fairy Realm so much, that his death date has been celebrated each year for 30 000 years. She is afraid of him. She thought she knew him, but she understands now that she doesn`t know him at all.

And the great tragedy of this moment is that he can`t understand it. For him everything is left the same. He treats her as well as before and thinks that she likes him as before.

He shows her his power out of petty jealousy (Devil is obvious more powerful than GoW and any fairy in Fairy Realm, in the Demon Realm everyone respects power, so why is Girl not impressed and still dreams of GoW?). But he still wants to win her heart so he makes very romantic thing and rides with her a dragon (it`s Chinese romantic trope and I like it a lot).

This is my favorite visual moment in this drama: a young and beautiful goth prince holds his beloved girl while her emotions swing from horror to excitement.

When they are in his realm, he wants her to treat him like before and proceeds to do things to please her. He even proclaims his feelings (not «I love you», but very straightforward anyways): I`ll do everything for you and indulge everything to you. But she irrationally wants to go back, wants to see God of War and that pisses Devil off. He is used to take whatever he wants, to conquer everything he needs (and he says it directly when they talk about home), but human`s heart can`t be conquered. Angry Devil tells Girl he was pretending all the time and even orders Dragon boy to find a sword pieces to kill Girl safely off. It`s very understandable but it ruins their previous relationships to the ground: before Girl thought that he treated her well AND a monster, but now only monster in her eyes left.

But he is really fluffy and nice guy in his soul and the only way to show it to Girl is to force her to know more about him and his usual life. So here we have another body swap.

"I think Shangque is very loyal to you and would never betray you. You don`t know human heart so you don`t know about it".

Forced to spend her time with the monster and to be in his shoes for a couple of days, Girl learns a lot: spooky demons are not so spooky as fairies have said – they are just another immortal race; it`s hard to be the demon lord – everyone is afraid of you or hates you, you can`t trust anyone, even your relatives; Devil is really a jerk, although is more like human being jerk, not this faceless monster from the fairy legends.

He feels that she treats him in different way and even questions himself if it is because he is the legendary demon lord, but in his mind there can only be two options in girl`s heart: either she likes him (and not GoW at the same time)  or she doesn`t like him.

He knows he is already dead because she obviously likes GoW and wants to go with him.

So when Girl saves his life instead of going back with GoW he thinks she chooses him over GoW, so this is partly the reason why he kisses her for the second time (but mostly because he wants to mock GoW with her choice), but she rejects him again and leaves him not understanding anything.

Then he realizes that he really doesn`t understand human heart: he thinks about her words and actions (she likes GoW and wants to be with him in the Fairy Realm, she plead for GoW`s life so many times when Devil fought him, so why would she save Devil?) and even asks Dragon boy what`s going on (He has HUGE potential to know humans hearts in all of their subtlety and it was a real crime to take this potential away from him in his past). I like this moment not only because of his will to make her happy (because he knows she likes flower showers) but also because she looks for him too when it happens. As if she thinks that he did not tell her the truth when he said that there is no love between them.

Four Obey me brothers react to f!mc who looks weak but is very BUFF

Lucifer ❤

The first time he saw you he thought he'll do the 'baby sitting' since you looked so fragile and weak. He introduced himself but you were oddly calm, he noticed that and saw a glint of..sparkles? In you're eyes and took care of you, but it all showed when it came to school

He was looking for you but noticed a crowd of demons and angels, when he saw the commotion his eyes grew wider. You were they're pinning down a lower demon with a knee to their neck and a hand on the left side of their horns while you were whispering treats he couldn't hear, you're eyes blinded with anger,knuckles turning white as you gripped on the demons horn.

The demon who nodded and promised to never do it again, you finally stood up and kicked the demons ribs and looked back and you two make eye contact, you backed up and demons and angels now gone and went to their own classes, just you and him. He stared at you dumbfounded and blinked a few times, before he could say anything you spoke first

"it was self defense! I promised myself I won't hurt anyone but only for protection..he took my note book and tore it." You said

He crossed his arms and hummed. "You're glad that lord diavolo wasn't here mc. But beware of my lecture after class." Mc shivered from that tone, she was never scared of anyone but the six lords, and the prince himself. They were the powerful people they know for the past weeks and has grown afraid of them, but the lower demons were nothing to her.

Mc then nodded and took her bag and left the hall in a hurry, Lucifer looked at their figure growing smaller and smaller. 'That human will be the death of me.' He thought and shook his head and went to his own classes.

Mammon 💛

Lucifer called him and told him (more like threatened) to take good care of the human. He looked at the human and scowled, "Finnee, whatever ya say bro" after taking care of the human and protecting them.

And you showed you're colors, he was walking towards you're class this break time but saw a demon student flings out the door breaking it on impact, he stood their and looked inside seeing you holding some demons hair and one at you're foot begging for mercy. He had to stop this and turned into his demon form and held you're wrist "what- SO YOUR BAC-" you half yelled and faced mammon with the greatest fear in you're face

You were on you're knees and begging for him to not tell Lucifer or anybody about this. Baby was flustered and red face was you saw when he said he won't tell on Lucifer, (might use you're strength to fly away those witches? 👁👁)

Leviathan 💜

He was very curious on how mammon was ways their for the human but didn't really knew much since he hasn't left his room, you still managed to be friends with him and smile at his likings.

He always let's you in his room so yeah no harm in his room, just don't win a game and be cocky about it

Lucifer told him to fetch mc from the canteen but saw a huge crowd and looked over it fighting his fear. But then

There you were kicking some demons as if they were ragdolls and stepping on them yelling on how stupid and weak they were, THEY WERE TEN TIMES LARGER THAN YOU MC TF???

As you two made eye contact he blushed and you blushed and looked away, continue stomping on them maybe you're blood should be on you're foot, then you gave out the last kick to the ribs. You glared at the crowd and they all went away except him. Levi, you blushed again and held out you're hand

"Wanna hold hands while we go back?" She asked. Leviathan just blushed more and took their hand and they were a blushing mess.

Satan 💚

Satan was now looking after you since mammon was hanged up the chandeliers again, he always was near you, always on you're side. But when he left to go to the rest room while recess started. But anywho, he came back with a bloody mess.

You were they're looking down on some beat up demons. Eyes wide to look intimidating, you're irises were red, a nerve was on you're visible forehead and another to you're neck,

Man was very shock and surprised ran over to pick you off the dude cuz ye ( I HAVE SCHOOL TMR AND CANT FINISH THIS, I DONT KNOW WHERE THE OTHERS ARE BUT SOON)

February TBR--

February is going to be the month I TRY to force myself to stick to my reading goals. I failed spectacularly in January by reading 8 more books than I had on my TBR. God, this is so the opposite of a problem. But I will say that January had me reading such small books that reading never felt like a chore. So, trying to stay in that mindset, I’m also going to be reading some shorter stuff in February.

1. Make a Wish by Helena Hunting (Spark House #3)-- I’m so excited to get to the finale of this companion series. The Spark House series follows three sisters who run an event hotel in Colorado Springs. This time it’s the youngest sister’s turn at love. We follow Harley and the guy she used to nanny for when he and his daughter move back to town after 6 years away. Can they navigate this romance with so much baggage weighing them down?

2. The Magic Misfits by Neil Patrick Harris (The Magic Misfits #1)-- I got this at a library sale...last year? The year before? At some point. It ended up being 50 cents or something like that so I thought I would take a chance on it. This one is the first book in a Middle Grade series that follows a street magician named Carter who has to save the town of Mineral Wells from the clutches of Bosso and his crew of crooked carnies.

3. The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith-- This is another book from the library sale. It was also super cheap so I decided to give it a shot. It’s a 2012 YA Romance so we’re going to tread lightly here and keep our expectations low. It seems like this one is set over a 24 hour period and both at an airport and in an airplane so that will be fun to watch play out.

4. The Ruin of Kings by Jenn Lyons (A Chorus of Dragons #1)-- Okay, so maybe this isn’t a shorter book, but I’ve heard too much hype. I have to read it. We follow Kihrin who is a bastard orphan who grew up loving stories about dragons, demons, gods, and heroes who always save the day. But when he’s claimed by a treasonous prince as his long-lost son, he learns the stories aren’t all true. He lives as a prisoner to his new family’s power plays and ambitions.  But let me give you my FAVORITE part of the synopsis: “Then again, maybe he’s not the hero, for Kihrin is not destined to save the empire. He’s destined to destroy it.” Let’s GOOOOOO. I’m trying not to give into the hype, but...come on. Come on.

5. Traitor’s Blade by Sebastien De Castell (Greatcoats #1)-- With this one, I’m continuing my 40 Books Before 40 TBR as well as my Kindle Clean Out Project. I didn’t know a ton about this one before I put it on the TBR. I got the recommendation from Jade/JadeyRaeReads on YouTube. This is an Adult Fantasy novel that follows the Greatcoats who were trained in the fighting arts and travel to uphold the King’s Law. Or at least they used to. Until they stood aside while the Dukes took the Kingdom and impaled their King’s head on a spike. The Greatcoats are scattered far and wide, reviled as traitors, their legendary coats in tatters. All they have left are the promises they made to King Paelis, to carry out one final mission.

6. Stars and Smoke by Marie Lu (Stars and Smoke #1)-- I have to say that I am SO lucky to have an ARC of this one. I really didn’t expect to get it when I put in the request on NetGalley. I’m trying to decide if I read it as soon as possible or if I wait and savor it at the end of the month. I’m going to keep the synopsis SO BRIEF to go into this knowing as little as I can. This one follows a superstar who has been tapped to become a secret agent and the reluctant young spy assigned to be his partner. I’m literally squealing over here. Shut your whole face. I don’t know exact what genre this story is going to lean into since GoodReads has it marked as a YA Romance/Contemporary/Mystery/Fantasy, but I’m here for it.

7. Greymist Fair by Francesca Zappia-- Another NetGalley ARC for this month. I’m also excited to get to this one. It’s slated as a suspenseful and inventive murder-mystery inspired by lesser-known Grimm fairytales. As someone who has read the whole of the Brother’s Grimm’s fairytales, I’m beyond psyched for this one. I’ll give you the brief synopsis from the top of the Goodreads page for this book: “The People of Greyfair Known that the woods are a dangerous and magical place, and that they should never set foot off the road. But when a young tailor discovers a body on the road, her search for the culprit reveals even more strange and dark happenings around her town.” Is this the right time of year for this sort of book? Depends on who you ask. Me? I’m always down for something good and dark.
