ya know I think one of my fave things about yuuya’s vibes is how he reads so strongly as ace to me and is still such an absolute Thot. Like the more you truly get to know him, the more proof I have to my conspiracy board that he is not just bi but bi-ace. And he is one of the only fictional characters who does not sacrifice his absolute Thottiness in that process

Today marks my ONE YEAR anniversary of writing! 🥳🥰
God, it feels like just yesterday that I decided to sit down in my lounge room, with my ancient laptop in my lap, absolutely terrified for what I was about to do. That day I started what would be The Outlaw’s Heart - the very first chapter. I had Red Dead Redemption ambience playing in my pink noise cancelling headphones, I had my water bottle next to me, and I had this gut feeling that what I was about to do was big.
I never, ever, imagined just how much that single decision - to put my fingers to the keyboard and just type - would change my entire life. In the biggest, and best way.
I remember writing about 900 words, and I remember feeling on top of the fucking world. The first chapter was done. I went screaming to my best friend, @d-desrosiers, and lost my mind. I remember just crying.
I was crying because I was happy, and I felt proud, for what I had just accomplished. For someone with my limited capabilities, fuck, it was a lot. And I did it.
When I first got into this fandom I never would have imagined ending up where I am. I was well aware of what fanfiction was - having read many video game and band fics in my past - but actually creating them? I never would have thought that would be me, but here I am. Sitting on an approx 300k word count, and counting; I have 3 collections published, but several sitting in my WIPs that you guys are yet to see; I have 2 fully written fics ranging between 14 to 25 chapters sitting in my drive that you guys are yet to see; I have handfuls of oneshots that are yet to see the light of day.
It is insane.
And the friends I have made? Fucking hell, I have never in my life been amongst such amazing, kind, and thoughtful people. These people are my friends for life, and they all know every time I talk to them how much I love and adore and cherish them.
It is gonna get sappy as FUCK under the cut. So buckle in.
@buckyismybicycle, my very first idol - the woman that I looked up to well before I started writing, because she is beyond fucking talented. Not only that, she is the kindest, sweetest (when she’s not laughing at my misery) person there is. HR, you have been through thick and thin with me, and it still stands for disbelief that I get to call you a close friend. My idol, my friend - that is INSANE. Here’s to many, many, many years more of friendship, of laughs, of brainstorming, of love. I love you. 💗
@writing-for-marvel… wow. It’s at this point I get speechless. I found you thanks to my most favourite Ari fic, and it’s just been heaven since. We bonded first over the fact that we were Aussies (a rare breed in this fandom)! I don’t know how, but we just evolved and I have never had such ease, such comfort, with someone as I do you - and I am so fucking grateful for that. We are one another’s cheerleader, and we are one another’s shoulder to cry on. We are so much more but frankly I would be sitting here typing for hours and I would become very nonsensical because I’m emotional (sue me). You will always be my baby, and I wish I could just hug the shit outta you. I love you. 💗
@duckybarnes1917. Haylie, Haylie, Haylie. Girl, where have you been all my life? You are chaos in a cauldron overflowing with thots and thoughts. I don’t know where I’d be without you. We have become such fast friends, and thanks to that, I have someone that I trust so intimately with my thots and thoughts. You are a space that will always be free of non-loving judgement (because I know you do, but lovingly 🤣) and you are always fun. We may live continents away from one another, but your love is the warmest hug that I could ever get. I love you. 💗
@sgt-seabass, my faerie. It was like finding me in someone else when we found one another. You have been the light in some of my darkest days. I love our calls so much, and talking with you is always the highlight of my day - whether we’re just chilling or whether we’re brainstorming or whether we’re venting, it doesn’t matter. I know I can come to you for anything, and you to me, and that is so special. I am so grateful that the universe brought us together. I love you. 💗
@wifeofbarnes. My little menace. The fuel to my thots, the sweetness to my fluff. It still amazes me that all that time ago, that I recognised you when you found your way back to me - and fuck, I’m so happy you did. Not only have you been an endless source of inspiration, but you are now a dear friend that I adore. You’re always down for my ideas, and you always lend an ear or kind words when I need the support. I love you. 💗
@navybrat817, holy shit. I’m gonna start off by saying that this is insane to me, that I even get to talk to you (okay, starstruck moment over). You have been a blessing, and I am ever so grateful to call you a friend. Brainstorming with you is an out of this world experience and you always bloody know how to murder me, every single fucking time. It’s amazing. Not to mention your support, for which you are ever so generous with, for literally anything; whether that be moral, hyping me up, or just listening, and let’s be real, there’s been times that I’ve been so out of it when I’ve messaged you and you still manage to decipher what I’m saying, so kudos to you! 🤣 I love you. 💗
@buckycuddlebuddy, I don’t know where you have been all my life, but holy shit. We have not been talking for very long at all, but look at us - I feel like I’ve known you for so long and the way our chaos matches so perfectly? 👌🏻 it’s amazing. Your patience and your kindness have been a blessing, and I appreciate you more than I can express. I love you. 💗
@jen-with-a-pen, MY OUTLAW WIFE, bound in holy matrimony with our husband, Arthur. God, to tell you I was over the moon when I found out you loved him as much as I do, it would be an understatement. Not only are we in a thruple marriage, you are also a dear friend. Your excitement for everything gives me life and so much joy, it’s beautiful. I love you. 💗
This last bit is to all my beautiful followers and moots - fuck, I am grateful for you all. I am grateful for all the support this past year, and your continued support in the future. I hope that as a content creator, I get to push my boundaries even further than I have in the past 6 or so months. There was a time when I was terrified to write smut, now look at me! 🤣
Thank you all for coming on this journey, and may we have many, many more years to come.
I love you all. 💗💗💗

Part 8
Series Masterlist
There’s quite a bit of dialogue from the show in this one, so a longer part for you all.
*drip - someone who is boring*
~~~~~~~~~~
You and Ben were both in the back seat of Butcher's piece of shit car. You were glad there was a considerate amount of leg room, because although you didn't mind being so close to Ben, his broad shoulders took up a lot of space... You'd been driving for about an hour when you shifted in your seat, a heavy huff of frustration leaving your mouth at trying to get comfortable.
"You okay back there?" Butcher asks from the drivers seat. "You been huffin' and puffin' since we bloody left." He says, annoyance evident in his tone.
"It's a bit of a tight fit..." you answer, side eyeing Ben who only looks at you with a smirk.
"You weren't complaining last night or this morning." He smirks.
"Jesus..." Hughie groans under his breath.
You glare at Ben. "Seriously?"
"Oh, c'mon...!" Ben lifts his arm and pulls you into his side. "It's not like they don't know what was going on." He chuckles smugly.
"Please!" Hughie semi-shouts. "We do not need specifics. We all heard you!"
"Who knew you were such a prude, kid...." You smirk. Hughie turns to glare at you now, to which you only raise your eyebrows. "Am I wrong?"
"Yeah, I don't know. You know what they say." Ben speaks up.
"What do they say?" Hughie asks clearly annoyed but his curiosity got the better of him.
"You gotta watch out for the quiet ones. Kinky." Ben laughs. You join in and even notice Butcher's eyes crinkled slightly in the review mirror.
After what felt like maybe ten minutes, Butcher turns the car onto a gravel road in the middle of a forest of trees and eventually pulls to a stop. You all get out of the car and make your way to the trunk, where the boys put all their gear. You bypass them all and walk back down the road a bit just watching in between the trees, already on the look out for anything Mindstorm related.
"You feeling anything?" Ben's voice interrupts your thoughts.
"Other than high as fuck, no. Not sensing him at all."
"Well we're at lest two miles out." You give Ben a look. "Hey, blame the Drip*. Turns out he might not be so great with his gadgets after all."
Meanwhile, Butcher and Hughie are still at the trunk of the car.
"Hey, why do you keep buying him like, Hefty bags full of weed?" Hughie's asks quietly, trying not to let the two stoned supes hear him.
"Better high than mental." Butcher responds, unzipping a small bag. "Takes the edge off his PTSD."
"Wait, he has PTSD?"
"Yeah, I saw it at Herogasm. It's why he keep blowing the fuck outta everything." Butcher and Hughie turn to look at Soldier Boy and Y/N talking softly to each other, their eyes glued to the tree line as they pass the joint between one and the other. "We gotta keep that Cunt dozy as a lamb."
"What about Y/N?" Hughie asks softly.
"I don't know...," they both turn back, "but I'd say what she did to those Russian soldiers when we first picked her up was a pretty good bloody indicator that she also has a lot of trauma."
"So, just to recap, he's uh, radioactive, she's a mind reader and can manipulate objects and or people, both highly traumatised and heavily self-medicated." Butcher continues to fills a syringe with Temp-V. "Feels good. Feels right."
Butcher scoffs. "Tell me about it. I mean, what sad bastard self-medicates like that, eh?" Butcher looks at Hughie and holds up the syringe.
"You pussies ready to get going?" Ben calls out. "You were in such a rush to fucking get out here."
"On our way." Butcher responds, closing the trunk and lifting the duffel bag over his shoulder.
"We're going-"
"This way." You cut Hughie off. "I know." You start walking in the direction you indicated, Ben close to you.
You were walking for roughly fifteen minutes before you notice a feeling in your chest. You don't get to give it much thought before Ben shoots around.
"What'd you say?" He asks the guys.
You look at Ben, confusion filling your thoughts, matching both Butcher and Hughie's faces.
"What?" Butcher asks
"What?" Ben responds.
"Nothin' mate. No one said nothin'." Butcher's eyes shift around your group, settling on yours for a moment.
Ben stays silent as he turns and keeps walking. Before you turn to carry on you see the boys eye each other. Ben is walking faster now, and you jog slightly to keep up with him before your super hearing picks up a metallic scratching noise.
"Oh, fuck." Is all you hear before you call out "Ben!" before there's an explosion, and you see Ben go flying before you do too.
You try to use your powers to catch yourself, but it was so sudden and you weren't able to prepare before you smack into a nearby tree. You feel your ears ringing from the blast and smoke moves across your body as you lift yourself from the ground, using the tree as leverage.
"Y/N!" You hear not with your ears, but your mind. The ringing is making it sound muffled though. You look up into Ben's green eyes, and feel a sense of calm wash over you knowing he's okay. His large hands help lift you to your feet as your eyes scan your surroundings.
You see Hughie groaning on the ground, but sense he's just shaken by the blast and being thrown a few feet. You continue to scan your eyes and mind, and see Butcher's figure on the ground and a smaller man standing over him. You shoot your powers out, violet streaking the air between you. But your disorientation means you miss your mark and Mindstorm scurries off into the forest.
"Fuck." You grunt out and notice the ringing in your head had settled down.
"C'mon." Ben holds you steady as you make your way over to Butcher, meeting Hughie who is trying to wake him by calling his name and tapping him on the face.
Ben let's you go and looks around, trying to see where Mindstorm went.
"Fucking freak... slipped away. He's gonna pick us off, one by one."
"Butcher! Butcher! Wake up!"
"That's not gonna work, kid." You tell him, seeing into Butcher's nightmare, a chill sweeping through your body.
"No, you're wasting your time. He's gone." Ben says matter of factly, kneeling down to open the duffel bag.
"What did Mindstorm do?" Hughie's panicked voice asks, looking from Ben back to you.
"Well, if it's his usual MO, trapped him in an endless nightmare till he dies of terminal dehydration." Ben drops his rag and leans down to grab his shield.
"No, there's gotta be a way we can wake him up." Hughie tries to rationalise. He turns to look at you, as you've been staring at Butcher, getting lost in his nightmare. "Y/N?" Hughes presses, trying to see if you could get him out.
"No." You say, somewhat absently. "I-I'm powerful, but... I don't know how to get rid of this for him."
"Mindstorm put him into this." Ben says, strapping his shield onto his arm. "He can snap him out."
"Okay. Great, great. Uh-"
"But he's about to be dead." This snaps you out of your funk.
"Wait." You turn back around to look at Ben.
"If we, if we grab Mindstorm, we make him help Butcher-"
"No way." Ben attempts to shut him down and walks away.
"Ben!" You walk after him.
"And then you can kill him. Then you can go to town on him. I don't give a fuck!" Hughie tries to reason.
"Hey!" Ben turns and gets close enough to Hughie that he backs up slightly. "If you're going to act hysterical, I'm going to slap you like I'm Connery." He pauses for a moment. "Now, unless you want to end up like your friend there," he gestures to Butcher, "its isn't worth the risk."
"Ben, c'mon! We can't just leave Butcher like this. He may be an asshole, but he doesn't deserve that!" You argue.
"What do you want to do? You just got surprised by fucking Mindstorm, Y/N." You swallow thickly, failure rooting itself deep within you. Ben looks back to Hughie. "Look, chin up. Deal's a deal. You help us finish this, we’ll kill Homelander. Butcher would have given up his life for that in a heartbeat."
You know after what Butcher told you, Ben wasn't wrong. Hughie looks back down at Butcher.
"So we doing this, or not?"
"I'll stay with Butcher." You offer.
"No, you're coming. You can't do anything for him." Ben orders. You don't like this side of him too much.
Hughie groans before bending down to grab the backpack.
"Leave it. We gotta move fast." Ben says, turning to walk away. "Ah!" He stops suddenly once again. "Did you hear that?"
"Ben... no." You answer softly. You recognise his mind is jumbled.
"Uh..." Hughie clears his throat. "You might want to lay off the weed, huh?" You think he's hit the nail on the head there. Maybe you should too...
Without turning around, Ben replies, "And you might want to gargle my ballsack.", before walking off again.
You bend down and grab the duffle quickly, before moving to place it under Butcher's head.
"C'mon, kid. Don't worry." You say, grabbing Hughie's attention. "I'll make sure we get Mindstorm to stop his shit before we kill him."
"He doesn't seem too keen on that idea." Hughie nods his head over in the direction of Ben's retreating form. You stand up and start walking in that same direction.
"Listen, I want him dead just as much Ben. But I won't let Butcher suffer through what he is right now."
"He's suf-suffering?" Hughie stutters.
"Yeah! What do you think being trapped in an endless nightmare is like? A picnic?"
"I, uh..."
"Hughie, listen." You look over at Hughie as you march after Ben. "I get that you're worried about Butcher. That's why you're so frazzled. But you need to get your shit together. None of us can afford to be off our game. The fact that I can't get Butcher out of that shit hole of a mindfuck he's in, just proves to me I'm still messed up. Hell, maybe I'll always be. My life hasn't exactly been sunshine and rainbows the last forty years. Could also just be the weed… But if Butcher is to have any kind of chance, you need to be on your game, okay?" Hughie nods. "Don't do anything fucking stupid."
You quickly catch up to Ben and you decide to take the rear. Hughie in the middle and Ben leads the way. You hear Ben talking about how many people he locked up for smoking weed, then he abruptly stops again asking what Hughie said.
"Uh, literally nothing." Hughie's panicked voice says, looking back to where we just came, clearly worried about Butcher.
Ben sighs.
"Jesus. How hard?"
"What?"
"How hard did Butcher suck your dick, that you miss him that much?"
"For fucks sake, Ben. He's worried about him!" You say, frustrated with the tension you're feeling coming off Hughie and the overall situation. Ben ignores you.
"Hmm? His mouth must feel like a Hoover Deluxe."
"God, every single thing you say is so gross. He saved me. Okay? More than once. So I owe him."
"Oh, bullshit." Ben tosses his blunt to the ground, and takes a step towards Hughie. "You're on a mission. You get the job done."
"Here we go." You sigh under your breath, ready for a spiel.
"Okay? I stormed Normandy. I fought the Nazis. You want to know what I do when I'm sad? Or scared?" Ben's face and voice turns almost emotionless. "Fucking nothing. 'Cause I'm not fucking pussy."
Hughie chuckles and you read where he's about to go
"Hughie... don't-" you try to shut it down, knowing how it might end.
"You didn't storm shit." Hughie had stepped to Ben. "Your whole Marlboro Man act? It's fucking crap." You can't help but slap your forehead. "And I-"
Faster than lightning, Ben's fist connects with Hughie's cheek.
"Oh!" Hughie pants in pain.
Very controlled for Ben, he points a finger at him and says as he looks to me and back to Hughie, "I warned you.", turns and raises his eyebrows before he continues his trek in the woods.
Still holding his face, you walk over to Hughie, your arms crossed at your chest.
"I said don't do anything stupid. That... was stupid." You couldn't help the bite in your tone.
"The Legend said-"
"The Legend?!" You move your hands to your hips. "The Legend is a jealous wannabe! He'll say anything to make a Supe look bad. Especially one who got put down by Vought. And hear this..." you step up into his personal space. "If you're saying that shit about Ben, you're also saying it about me." You see fear cross his eyes, let alone his mind. "You're goddamn lucky you weren't speaking to me, or you might not be walking right now. So fucking watch it. Because it'd be a shame for me to waste someone I actually like. But it wouldn't be the first time."
You turn and leave Hughie to think about what you just said.
"Fucking asshole..." Ben grumbles as you catch up to him.
"Calm down, babe. He's just a kid." You say, trying to pacify him.
"A kid with a fucking mouth on him." He glares at the passing trees as he storms down a path.
"What? Like you didn't ever have one?" You scoff.
"That was different." He says, an attempt to defend himself.
"What?” You scoff. “You never got told something then spouted it off in a stressful situation in an attempt to knock a superior down a few pegs?" You raise your brows at him, knowing he can't say he didn't.
"That Colonel was a prick."
"And you haven't exactly not been one either." He gives you an astonished look. "Oh, Ben! You just called him a pussy for being worried about his friend! Actually, he kinda looks up to him as a brother... but either way, he is someone he cares about, and he's now suffering and he can't do anything to help him, other than make sure he gets Mindstorm to pull him out. Which, by the way, we are going to do." Ben rolls his eyes, his body almost going with them. "Don't you roll your eyes at me, we wouldn't be here without that limey bastard, and besides..." you shrug your shoulders, "I kinda like him." You finish off with a grin.
"You kinda like him?" He questions.
"No need to get jealous. I don't like him as much as I like you, hot stuff." You wink at him, even making the tips of his ears turn red. "Now let's get going. There's two very confusing people on the road beyond those bushes." You walk past him towards the two voices discussing their broken down vehicle.
"What do you mean confusing?" You hear Hughie ask from where he's finally caught up to you both.
"I'm not sure, and that bugs me. I smell Mindstorm all over this. So keep your wits about you. Ben, maybe your paranoia will come in handy."
"Para-" he starts but you cut him off with a "Shh" before you make your way through the bushes and see the two people, a man dressed as a priest and a woman as a nun, talking next to their broken down car.
"We're never going to get to the retreat now..."
"Oh!" The priest startles as he sees the three of you approach. "Oh you startled me." The way he overacts doesn't even sit right with you. "Are you both superhero's." He asks, gesturing to Ben and yourself. Hughie didn't fit the part without the monkey suit.
"Yes Father." Ben answers. "You folks need some help?"
"Yes." The nun desperately pipes up. "Yes please." You squint your eyes as your read of them is fuzzy.
"Okay well, it's not safe. There's a fugitive in the area."
"You should get out of here before you get hurt." You add, subtly walking over to the other side of the nun keeping an eye on her as you keep another eye on your surroundings.
"Uh, well, we can't. I don't suppose any of you know engines?"
Your trio is silent as you make your way closer to Ben and Hughie before Ben begrudgingly offers to take a look. Hughie begins to make conversation and you get a glimpse into the priests mind before you blast a power surge at him, causing him to fall backwards just before Ben shoots his pistol, a bullet landing between the man's eyes.
The nun starts screaming, and since you never picked anything up, you're unsure about attacking her. In the meantime, Hughie is freaking out about what just happened.
"This is Mindstorm's MO. He brainwashed them."
"That priest was gonna sack us, but I can't be su-" you get cut off by Ben who lifts his pistol to point at the nun
"She will too."
Hughie moves in-front of the nun, trying to reason with Ben.
"Take my word for it. Everyone's coming for us. Everyone, every day." Ben raises his sidearm again, but Hughie tries to stop him.
"No, no! You have PTSD."
"Jesus Christ, Hughie!" You exclaim, astonished by this kids timing.
"Y/N, please!" Hughie pleads with you before looking back at Ben. "You have PTSD and you are super fucking stoned! Alright?" He looks back at the now praying nun, who is covered in blood. "Maybe this isn't what you think it is."
"Move." Ben glares at him. "Move!" Ben's booming voice yells threateningly.
"She's a human being!" Hughie continues.
"Oh no, she is definitely not normal, Hughie." You pipe up, eyeing her facial features changing, but still having troubles with her mind.
"A nun! And if there's one thing I know-"
The nun suddenly shoots up to jump on Hughie's back and screams, "Die, you fucking cocksuckers!"
Hughie panics then screams as she sinks her teeth into his neck. You watch for a second, then double over in a fit of laughter. You can't help yourself. The situation is to the utmost degree, just absurd. You hear Hughie demanding Ben and yourself to do something, and see through the tears in your eyes, Ben attempting to aim his gun at the spider monkey of a nun.
"Stay still. I can't..."
"Fuck you!"
"Get her off me! Y/N!!"
"I can't!" You wheeze, waving your hand at the situation acting out in front of you.
Ben's gun finally goes off and the nuns body hits the ground with a thump, landing next to the priest's body.
"Oh! Fuck me!" Hughie pants as he walks away and then looks back at the body. "No! Hard pass on this Exorcist shit!"
You're still giggling until Ben jokes, "what's black and white and red all over?" And you burst into another fit of laughter, your abdominal muscles screaming from your clenching as you bend over yet again.
"You were a lot of help!" Hughie shouts at you.
"Oh c'mon!" You laugh. "As if you wouldn't have thought that was fucking hilarious!"
"Okay, first off..." Ben turns and makes his way towards Hughie. "You scream like a little girl. Second, I don't have shell shock. Fuck you. Third, this is what I'm talking about. This... is being a soldier."
Ben looks off to the direction we were walking before he grabs my arm and drags my laughed out body behind him.
"Come on." He calls to Hughie. "What the hell is going on with your powers?" Ben asks you under his breath. This sobers you up quickly, really hoping you wouldn't have to explain something you didn't know the answer to. "It's like you're blocked or something."
"Ben... I don't know what to say. This has never happened with him before."
"Well we need to figure it out fast, because not that I'm worried, but fuck, Y/N..." he sighs heavily, dropping your arm. "I'm kind fuckin' worried. You've always been stronger than that fuck. And now you're shooting blanks?"
"Hey, the telekinesis is fine, I shoved that priest okay." You defended. "It's just... I don't know... the mind stuff is a bit funny... I can read you, and Hughie, definitely Butcher. That man is having a fucking great nightmare!" You say sarcastically
"Maybe..." Ben starts, but stops himself.
"What?"
"Maybe he's gotten..."
"Stronger?" You finish for him.
"Maybe."
You sigh heavily as you hear Hughie coming up behind you again.
"I don't know, Ben. Maybe? Forty years is a long fucking time, he could have easily improved his skills. And I've been pretty preoccupied... let alone the weed. They make this shit different these days..."
"What if it's more than that?" Hughie pipes up.
"Are you listening to our conversation?" Ben questions, an angry look pointed at the poor boy.
"I mean... it's not like it's... private..." Hughie mutters.
"What do you mean, Hughie?" You try to get him back on track.
"Well, what if you're like... being too hard on yourself? Feeling the pressure?"
"What, like performance anxiety?" You joke.
"I mean.. yeah."
You raise an eyebrow at the idea and think about it for a moment. "Hmm... certainly a possibility." You continue walking.
"That's all you have to say?" Ben questions.
"Well I don't know what you want me to say. 'Oh yeah, that's it! All better now!' Pfft, doesn't work like that. Besides... we're here." You say stopping just short of entering a clearing where you see a run down looking barn type of structure and a bunch of wind chimes out the front of it swaying and making noise in the breeze.
"Oh shit, we are." Hughie says, looking down at his device.
"You felt it?" Ben whispers to you.
"Yeah. It feels like a fog is covering this space..." you gesture to the clearing.
Ben takes a deep breath to calm himself. You know deep down he was nervous before coming, and the day has only added to his stress. You place a hand on his should, giving it a comforting squeeze and a reassuring look.
"We're in this together." You send him the message telepathically. He nods in response.
Meanwhile, Hughie was looking on, observing the two of you together. He feels that there was a possibility he was judgemental of Soldier Boy. Maybe he wasn't such a hard ass? After all, he was very soft with you. Something Hughie knew was only ever for you, but gave him hope that maybe... maybe Soldier Boy was different from what the stories said.
However, Soldier Boy's words about killing Mindstorm still echoed in his brain. He needed to do everything he could to make sure he got him back to Butcher before that happened.
The trio make the way closer to the building, walking past the wind chimes. You focus on your surroundings and not making any noise as you walk over the drying grass, much like the two men with you. Hughie pulls the wooden door open for Ben to walk through, his shield and gun in position. Hughie follows Ben and you come up behind them.
You tried carefully in the surely rotting wooden floor, judging by the smell and discolouration on the timber.
"Be careful of where you step or you might fall through the floor."  You send to both men, ensuring your ability to turn your mind into a vault is active to keep Mindstorm out. You see both men nod slightly in response.
Ben gets to the end of the makeshift corridor before he stops and gestures his weapon to a mirror up ahead. You see Mindstorm in the reflection, crouched down and shifting on his feet. Ben breathes deeply again, preparing to ambush Mindstorm.
"I'm sorry, Y/N." You hear suddenly from Hughie. Your eyes widen and you go to grab Hughie's shoulder, but he disappears in a flash, his clothes dropping to the floor.
Ben spins to look behind him with widened eyes, seeing Hughie gone, but his clothes left behind, and your extremely pissed off expression. He rushes to look at the mirror again and sees a now naked Hughie grab Mindstorm from behind before they vanish. You both rush around to see that they are both, in fact, gone.
"Shit!" Ben yells. You stand there and feel the anger working through your veins. How could you not see this coming? "Y/N, let's go. We gotta get him before it's too late." Ben turns and storms out of the barn.
You follow Ben outside of the building. But your anger has reached the point where you turn and blast your powers to the innocent barn and see it explode, the noise being heard for miles.
Meanwhile, Hughie has Mindstorm back at the location where Butcher is living out his nightmare. He's just opening his eyes to Mindstorm and is trying to reassure him that everything is okay, and he can be trusted.
"Okay. Hey. We're cool. Very chill. Very cool." Hughie promises, before they both hear an explosion in the distance. "We might want to hurry..."
Hughie gives him some clothes to change into, but the pressure of knowing Soldier Boy and Vivid were on their way back, was making Mindstorm even more anxious. Mindstorm didn't want to waste time waking that man up until the boy offered to teleport him away and not tell anyone.
"What about Vivid?" Hughie looks confused for a moment. "How are you going to make sure she doesn't find out where you teleported me?"
"It'll at least give you a head start to get out of here." Hughie is grasping at straws and he knows it. But he knows any chance of survival is what Mindstorm needs, and that's the only one he has.
Mindstorm's considers it for a few seconds, because that's all he can afford. Then he agrees and moves to the man's body. Hughie kneels down and watches Mindstorm stand over Butcher to do whatever it is that he does.
Butcher suddenly wakes up, gasping for breath and looks over to Hughie. He apologises, which confuses Hughie. Mindstorm sees why, but doesn't care to stick around longer than he has to. He need to get the fuck away, now!
"Hey, kid." He urges the young man. Hughie looks up at him.
"Right, right, yeah." He gets up and makes to move over to Mindstorm. "Okay. Deals a deal. Where are we headed?"
Mindstorm doesn't get the chance to answer because there's suddenly a knife through the side of his head and exiting through his right eye socket. He screams in pain and Hughie is in shock as he looks to see Soldier Boy and the Supe he was growing fond of, no longer Y/N, but Vivid, storming in their direction.
Her eyes were glowing violet as she uses her power to push Mindstorm over from her position in the trees. As they both get to Mindstorm, Y/N places a hand out, palm facing down to his body, clearly holding him down as he is still yelling out in pain.
Ben grabs a bag out to place over his head, but Y/N growls "No! I want to see his eyes." She flicks her wrist and Mindstorm's body turns to lay in his back.
"Hey! Wait, wait, wait!" Hughie rushes over to get them to stop.
Ben punches Mindstorm to get him to stop struggling, which seems to work. He then gets to his feet and turns towards Hughie. Hughie tries his best to not be scared at the huge Supe glaring at him, before Ben then punches Hughie with enough force to throw him back a good couple of feet.
Y/N watches as Butcher looks back to Ben and see's Butcher's eyes light up and a sizzling sound come from them.
"Keep him away from this, Billy." You order, your own eyes glowing and the veins in your neck now too. Butcher looks to you as his eyes turn back to normal and he turns to look after Hughie.
You turn back to Mindstorm and kneel down. Your hand clenched into a fist, pulling his body up closer to you.
"Hiya Dan. I'd say long time no see, but you've made many appearances in my nightmares over the past forty years." You say with a mad grin on your face and a crazy tone.
"Y/N, come on, you know I always liked you..." he begs.
"Fucking BULLSHIT! You may have strengthened your power, but I'm in now, Dan. You have a weakness and that's uncontrollable fear."
"It's- it's not what you think. It wasn't my idea!"
"Oh, we know it was Noir's." You feel that drop in your stomach as Ben says this, still unsure about leaving him yesterday. "But how does that work, huh? Because there's no way he makes a fucking move without Vought!" Ben's voice grows loud.
"They gave him the green light." Mindstorm pants.
You clench your fist tighter, making it harder for him to breathe. "Why would they do that?" You growl through clenched teeth.
Butcher is lifting Hughie to his feet and they look over to you and Ben, interrogating Mindstorm before Ben suddenly yells out, "What?! That's impossible."
They see you drop your hands, your powers releasing Mindstorm as you look to Ben with a stunned but almost broken look on your face. He looks up to you before you look to Hughie and Butcher, expression hardening before back down to Mindstorm. You look to Ben, blink slowly, Mindstorm screams, then you turn and walk a few steps away, your back to everyone.
Ben looks back down to Mindstorm, seeing his left eye now filled with violet, blocking Mindstorm from using his powers on him. Ben's expression hardens also before he lifts his shield up and proceeds to bring it down multiple times on his face, caving it in and yelling out. Ben doesn't know anymore if it's in anger or pain. When he stops, his shield is covered in blood at the pointed side where he used it as a weapon and he stands up, panting from the exertion and the emotions.
Ben looks over to see Y/N still standing and looking out into the forest, his own chest heavy. He then turns to look at the boys before walking over. He halts briefly and glares at Hughie and quickly glances at Butcher, before he marches up the small hill.
"What'd he say?" Butcher calls out, but Ben ignores him.
Butcher and Hughie look at each other, before they hear Y/N yell out. They quickly look back to see her on her knees and blasting her violet power out into the woods, flattening the trees out in front of her.
Hughie goes to walk to her, but Butcher holds him back. If the punch he received from Soldier Boy was anything to go by, Butcher knew Hughie had done something to piss them both off, and he's pretty sure he knew exactly what judging by the bloody event that just occurred.
Y/N is breathing heavily as she turns and walks towards them. She eyes Butcher, her glare enough for him to know he won't win against her if he tries anything, and then she stops in front of Hughie. Her jaw is set tight, her body just as rigid. Hughie opens his mouth to speak, but she holds up a hand and closes it tightly in a fist.
Hughie feels as if his vocal chords and windpipe are tied in knots. He cannot speak, cannot breath. He looks to Y/N, eyes and mind begging for her to stop.
"This so not a threat. This is a promise. There will be no more chances. Once more..." her eyes glow violet once again and Hughie doubles over as his brain feels like it's being stabbed with red hot knives, "and you will die."
She releases Hughie from her hold and proceeds to walk where Ben did only moments before. Once she is out of sight, Butcher grabs Hughie to make sure he's okay.
"Bloody hell, Hughie...! I don't know what you did, but I have an idea. You're fuckin' lucky to be alive, mate."
no, you know what, I’m going to stop vague’ing on the dash. my anger is about to get extremely direct and enraged, so fair warning, but I don’t care about anyone’s comfort right now. I’m going to get fucking mad, and you all will fucking deal.
not a single one of us has the right, or should even have the option, to guess about ccs’ sexualities. I’ve kept my mouth shut when it comes to people analyzing george/dream and guessing they’re some kind of queer, but I’m fucking done. I’m going to go into every single reason “truthing” about ccs’ sexualities is just so beyond fucked.
first of all, this is in response specifically to ranboo and tubbo truthing. being a kid and getting thrown into such a massive spotlight, where you will undoubtedly be subject to some fuck shit eventually because the internet is full of thousands upon thousands of people, is already terrifying and anxiety-inducing and damaging enough. but for their own audiencemembers - their own supposed fucking “fans” - to take it one step further and speculate about their sexualities? oh, for the love of god. I can barely believe I even have to explain how fucked that is. it is one thing to be friends with or close to someone in real life and recognize your own queer struggle in them, to approach them with sympathy and support in case they are questioning. it is another thing entirely to speculate about the sexuality of someone you don’t even know, and to then take it a step further and “truth” about your fucking theories. you are not an expert, you are not their friend, and you are not a fucking oracle. you can guess all you want about a cc’s sexuality, you can comment on how their actions or behaviors or words resonate with you when you were questioning or closeted, but to go ahead and take your own speculation as truth is arrogant, presumptous, and damaging as all hell.
I can just imagine what it would’ve been like if I’d grown an online platform that ripped me of my privacy when I was a teenager and trying to figure out my own sexuality. if I had a section of my audience analyzing my every social media post, the inflection in my voice and the nature of my laughs, my every interaction with my best friend, you know what I would’ve done? retreated so far into the closet that I would probably have tricked myself into thinking I was heterosexual. I would’ve been so fucking terrified and felt so stripped of any privacy or control I had over my own goddamn thoughts; do you understand how fucking vile that is? have none of you ever been terrified of giving away your own sexuality through your mannerisms and facial expressions and words, while you were closeted? have none of you ever experienced that utter fucking terror when you notice someone start to question your sexuality, the immediate urge to retreat and back up and act and believe the complete opposite just to prove them wrong and go back to the safety and security of them believing you were straight? for fuck’s sake, now imagine that feeling amplified a hundred fold, applied not just to one instance or one person in your life, but to thousands. do y’all not understand just how a) morally fucked it is to inflict this same kind of practice onto someone you supposedly care about and support, and b) potentially psychologically damaging this could be to ccs who are closeted, especially the fucking minors? oh my fucking god.
that isn’t even to point out why people do this shit - which is to project and find solace and derive some kind of enjoyment out of cc’s. that’s what cc’s are there for; they are entertainers, first and foremost, which continues outside of streams and bleeds into fandom culture and the kind of enjoyment fans can make out of interacting with other fans and creating their own fan content. the problem with this fact is that fans take it too far, like 85% of the time. cc’s aren’t just there for our own enjoyment. they are fucking people, oh my lord. they are real people that we will never know, and while we may have our fun with our little theories and talking to other fans and making and watching cute compilations and writing fanfiction and making fanart, we are just deriving entertainment from the parts of themselves they choose to show us. that persona they put on for the stream, that is not 100% them. they are real, rounded, 3-d, full people who we only ever get the privilege of witnessing a small sliver of. and we need to fucking remember that, because we can’t just keep running with the ideas of ccs that we have in our heads and treating them like they’re malleable characters for our own entertainment.
anyways, specifically about truthing (and mind you, this is the point in the rant where a little of my anger starts to seep out because I’m tired and it’s 1:40 AM and I have class tomorrow): there’s so many things that can be said about gaydar. I’m not here to argue whether or not it exists, or the details of the morality of straight versus non-straight people engaging in the practice of truthing. I’m just here to say that, even if you believe gaydar exists and can be accurate when employed by non-straight people, that still only applies to people you fucking know. what you see of a cc is not “getting to know” them. what you are seeing is one face of a multi-faceted jewel, cut in far more ways that you can ever hope to one day perceive. your theories are just those - theories. whatever you might think of the giggles you heard or the pickup lines you saw uttered or the softness you imagine between x and y, human interaction is far too complex and laced with meaning for some rando on the internet who watches youtube videos and twitch streams to fully grasp from two entertainers working from behind a screen. your gaydar is not going to fucking work through a screen, fuck off with that shit.
another thing that’s fucking bothering me so much is this assumption that comes with being at all open about queerness when you yourself are not queer. ik this is just one of the many factors “truthers” use to justify the findings of their totally infallible, prophetic gaydar, but it’s a factor nonetheless, and it bothers the fuck outta me. someone being willing to express support for lgbt people or donate to lgbt chairities or open to conversations with other lgbt people about lgbt endeavors is not evidence of queerness. to say that it is contributes to the harmful belief that cishets still have that they cannot be any of those things - that is, exceedingly open about and to queerness - without being perceived as queer themselves.
anyways, and now we are at the bottom line, which is that, this entire conversation wouldn’t even have to be had if people just fucking listened to cc boundaries. ranboo and tubbo do not like being shipped. it is that fucking simple. i know that it is tempting to ship two people you think are cute together. i know it is tempting to indulge in a dynamic you find comforting. but idgaf. temptation is not an excuse. find some fictional characters to ship, and kindly fuck off.
17 Plant, Indruck, NSFW
I feel like a lot of my choices are a bit ironic or obvious but I hope you have fun writing them if you choose to because I thought the ideas would be written beautifully in your style! Thank you for always taking on these challenges! I think it really helps keep everyone excited and keeps the fandom love alive 🥰
Thank you so much <3
Also thanks to @bellafarallones2 for playing in this space on discord awhile back.
Duck’s used to having his face sat on. It’s what happens when a giant pumpkin is the closest you get to a physical form (most of the time).
Usually it’s little kids, either questing to climb the biggest thing they see or set upon it by photo-hungry parents. They don’t stay long, and the most Duck has to do is sneak a vine up to steady one that’s about to fall off.
He gets vloggers and influencers and whatnot too. He’ll just ignore them, though he wishes some of them would shut up for ten seconds. If he felt like it, he’d teach them how to tell a decent shaggy dog story. But he doesn’t, so he usually naps or checks on the real pumpkins while they ramble on.
Today, however, a new Amnesty Acres employee has been perching on him for two. Fucking. Hours. He’s drawing on a sketchpad, red glasses slipping down his nose and silver hair tied in a half-bun to keep it out of his face. Don’t get Duck wrong, his ass is nice, but when humans stick around this long he can’t stretch his vines or move for a better view of the nearby forest.
He taps one denim-covered thigh. A foot sporting black converse kicks out, but the man doesn’t even look up from his drawing. Duck twines a vine around his ankle, which never fails to make humans scream and run.
“Shoo, I’m busy.” The lilting voice sounds more distracted than anything else.
Duck tightens his grip and tugs.
“Knock it off.” The human gently kicks the front of his pumpkin.
He raises more vines and shoves him onto the ground. From this angle, Duck can see the name tag reading “Indrid” with a little moth drawn at the bottom.
The human huffs, setting his sketchpad aside. Then he cocks his head, tapping the pumpkin with curiosity, “Does this bother you?”
Duck swats his thigh in reply.
Indrid grins playfully, the expression like warm sun on hungry leaves as he traces shapes on Duck’s skin, “You know, you’re a very nice looking pumpkin. Maybe I should carve you…”
“Oh yeah?” The risk of speaking is immediately rewarded by Indrid’s eyes going wide behind his glasses. Duck shoves his orange shirt up and traps his legs against the ground before tracing the tip of a vine in a smiley face on a tan chest that’s just screaming for some sunlight, “how’d you like it if someone carved you.”
A nervous laugh bubbles up the human’s throat, “Is, ah, is now the time we both say ‘just kidding?”
Duck pulls back, lowering the fabric into place and patting Indrid’s stomach, “Yep. I ain’t interested in hurtin anyone. Just wanted a chance to move around some, and I can’t do that with your ass in my face. Not that it don’t make for a nice view on its own.” He makes a vine into a circle, holds a leaf at the center, then closes and opens it.
The human snickers, then tenses and fidgets with the orange crystal dangling around his neck, “Are all the pumpkins here like you? Because I’m not sure how that’s going to work out well when we need to harvest a new batch for the farmstand.”
“Nah, it’s just me. I’m a plant spirit, and this field has been my home for a long-ass time. Guessin’ I ain’t the first one of those you’ve met, seein’ as you didn’t hightail it outta here when I poked you.”
“Nono, you’re the first.” Indrid scoots closer and crosses his long legs, “the way I see it, there are lots of weird things in this world, and we should consider ourselves lucky to run into them. It seems silly to, ah, pass up the chance to know you.” The setting sun highlights the blush on his cheeks.
“So you ain’t just wanderin from field to field hopin’ the plants get handsy with you?” Duck teases.
“If I’d known that was an option, I might have. I, ah, I mean, agh, apologies” He pinches the bridge of his nose, “see, this is why I have to work at a place where the most they need me to do is ring people up. I’ve never been good at normal conversations.”
His voice is like a field mouse hiding from a hawk, tone conveying all the moments and missteps that lead up to that confession. Duck picks up the discarded drawing supplies and sets them in the human’s lap, “Ain’t no shame in bein’ awkward. Or curious. And, uh, if you feel like indulgin that curiosity some, come back to this spot two nights from now.”
Indrid blushes again, standing as a dinner bell rings, “I’ll think about it. And I’m sorry about the kicking.”
“No harm done, darlin.”
The human heads towards the house, turning once to offer a little wave. Duck puts a vine to where he suspects a mouth would be on his pumpkin and blows him a kiss.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amnesty is closed to the public on Mondays, so there’s no one in the U-Pick fields when Indrid wanders to the farthest end and sits down across from the massive Jarrahdale pumpkin.
“Hello. I am here to see if our conversation yesterday was some sort of ice coffee induced hallucination.”
The pumpkin shifts almost imperceptibly and there’s a muffled laugh not only from behind it’s rind but from the earth beneath him and the air above.
“Nah, but now I’m hurt you didn’t come here because you wanted to share your lunch with me.”
“I could if you’re hungry. Wait, no, you probably eat like a plant. I suppose I could pour soda on the ground for your roots…”
Another laugh, “I’m good.”
“Are you sure? It’s a limited edition Mountain Dew.” He shakes the bottle temptingly, “I did actually come here to eat, if that’s alright. I like how much of the woods you can see.”
“It’s pretty damn gorgeous. There’s even a badger family that lives in it, sometimes I’ll watch ‘em come out and snuffle around. Oh, and for awhile there was a barn owl nest at that far end, for a few years there were way fewer mice nibblin’ on my leaves…”
“Does it hurt when that happens?” Indrid unwraps his sandwich.
“Not really, seein’ as I’m tougher than the average plant. Usually they don’t bother me, they like the berry patches better anyway. Glad Mama took the hint and put the blackberries in.”
“You talk to her?” The surprise gets out before he can think about the fact that, if anyone he knows could keep the presence of a talking plant present, it’s his laconic employer.
“I communicate sometimes. Leave the seed catalog in the shed open to a certain page, put a weird-lookin pumpkin out where a plant is startin to get diseased, things like that. Ain’t sure she even knows it’s me, but whenever anyone asks to buy me she shuts ‘em down real quick. Says I’m a part of the farm.” A vine lifts his chip bag, “they’re makin chips outta crab now?”
“I think it’s a special kind of flavoring. There’s an Asian Market on the corner by my apartment and these are my favorite potato chips they sell.”
A smaller vine pets his ankle, “What’s your place like?”
As Indrid tells him, the pumpkin–who introduces himself as Duck–continues fiddling with his shirt and shoelaces. In exchange, Duck eagerly talks about the daily life of a plant spirit. When Indrid has to head back to work, the leaves droop just a little.
And here he thought being a struggling artist in an unfamiliar small town meant he was the loneliest thing on this farm.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------
Indrid locks up the farm stand, having taken the closing shifts for this week so Barclay can actually go to bed at a normal hour for once. That and Duck told him he should come at midnight to satisfy his curiosity. At a quarter to twelve, he tucks his keys into his pockets and starts towards the pumpkin patch, moonlight making shadow puppets of all the plants.
“Just couldn’t wait, darlin?” Vines clear stray leaves and twigs from the ground so Indrid can sit down.
“It was faster than I thought to get the lunch counter cleaned up. We were swamped with field trips today.”
“Thought there were more kids than usual. Here, lemme do that.” Duck nudges Indrid’s hand aside from where he’s trying to rub his sore feet through his shoes and slips them off. Maybe at midnight they’ll turn into glass slippers and Duck will become a prince.
“Oh, oh that’s very nice, thank you.”
“Any time, sugar. Nice to have someone appreciates the vines.”
“They’re quite lovely.” Indrid pets a large leaf; Duck’s form doesn’t feel the same as the other plants at Amnesty. His leaves are sturdier but softer to touch, his vines and tendrils are smooth instead of prickly.
“Am I right that part of why you came tonight is you’re wonderin’ what else I can do with ‘em?”
“Yes.” His ears tingle with heat, “I went through a rather intense phase of reading, ah, erotic material featuring tentacles and vines and such. The thought of being touched all over all at once is, it’s nice.” He looks down, unsure why he’s shy when this was Duck’s idea in the first place. Vines sneak under his waistband, a few more stroke his face and pet his hair, and one even tickles behind his ear.
“I can do that. But I want a different body first.”
The alarm Indrid forgot to turn off beeps. There’s a flash of orange and green light, ozone and burnt Jack’O Lantern in the air. And then there’s a man perched on the giant pumpkin, eyes as green as the leaves at Indrid’s feet.
“Howdy.” He grins, stretching his arms and legs as the wind catches dark hair, grey streak about where a stem would cast its shadow. Even the fact he’s in overalls, checkered shirt the same color as his usual self, just adds to his charm.
“Hello.” Indrid tries to cross his legs, feeling like a hormone-drunk teenager for how hard the sight of Duck’s human form is getting him. The spirit has other ideas, two vines circling his thighs and holding his legs apart.
“Damn, now that’s flatterin.” Duck slides down to join him on the dirt.
“I, I, ah, I wasn’t expecting you to be so handsome.” He manages a grin, “did you ask me to come tonight just to show off?”
“A little.” Duck straddles him, cool, calloused hands cupping his face, “mostly I wanted to do this.”
He kisses him, and somehow it’s the last thing Indrid expects. Duck can change shape, control plants, could do anything he wanted to and Indrid would gladly take it. Yet all he wants is to climb into the human’s lap like a high schooler in the backseat with his boyfriend. Indrid loses himself in the faint scent of soil and earthy taste on Duck’s tongue until the spirit is satisfied and lets him breathe.
“Yeah, that was worth waitin a few days. You wanna move to the main event.”
“Please.” Indrid pulls off his shirt, laughs when vines lift him up enough to undo his jeans and pull them away.
“No underwear?”
“I’d like to say that was to surprise you, but I actually forgot to do laundry in time.” He braces for the feeling of his bare skin hitting the ground. It never comes.
“Can’t have you gettin too dirty. Just dirty enough to know you’re mine.” Duck answers his unasked question, kisses him again and murmurs, “want your glasses to stay on?”
“Yes, please. You’ll be blurry without them and I want to see you.”
Duck nods, kisses him a final time, and then lounges on the pumpkin like a throne as the vines move Indrid through the air. At first he’s afraid they’ll drop him, or fail to take his weight, but they transfer and turn him as if he was a piece of paper, presenting his ass to Duck.
“Just as cute as it was a few days ago.” Duck pats his right cheek as a thin vine teases his entrance.
“G-glad you approveEEP!” He gasps as the tip pokes in, “lube, oh I’m such a bonehead, I forgot to bring some, you can use spit, I’ll be alrIGHT!” The vine is suddenly slick.
“Plant spirit.”
“Right, right silly me.” He moans as his arms are trapped behind his back and the vine works deeper. Duck’s very human hands run up the backs of his thighs, and there’s a chuckle as a second vine twines around the first and slips inside.
Indrid groans, quivering as his body registers just how trapped he is.
“It don’t hurt, does it?”
“No, nono, I, I just, it’s been awhile since I’ve done something like this and I forgot how nice it feels.”
“Fuckin a harvest spirit?”
“Being helpless for someone.” He murmurs, trying to recall the last time he trusted someone enough for it.
“Ain't that a shame. Don't worry, I'm pretty damn good at making little humans helpless.” Duck kisses his shin.
“I’m, ahhhhhngoodness, getting that impression.” He wiggles his ass, “May I have more, please?”
“Well, ain’t you polite? I’m gonna add a third, lemme know if it’s too much.”
“Will doOOOyes.” The stretch is just what he’s aching for, the feeling of someone wanting to fill him so thoroughly making him rut uselessly at the air.
He whines, frustrated that he can’t reach back and touch Duck in return. A thicker vine suddenly rises between his legs, and he moans ecstatically when his cock grinds against it. Duck is staying put behind him and he knows he ought to be embarrassed to be seen dripping pre-cum in the dirt while vines make a show off opening his ass and fucking him deep. But all he hopes is that Duck is enjoying the show.
There’s a low, appreciative whistle, “Quite a show, darlin.”
Suddenly, the vines aren’t enough.
“Please say you have some kind of dick and that I can suck it.”
Duck barks out a laugh and stands, hand gliding along Indrid’s body as he moves in front of him, “Gettin fucked one way ain’t enough for you?”
“No.”
The spirit undoes his overalls, shoving them down to reveal a round, hairy belly and a wonderfully thick cock waiting between his thighs. He’s hard, a fact Indrid takes in with pride.
He’s expecting the vines to move him. Instead, Duck steps close enough that he can wrap his mouth around his cock with ease and fists both hands into Indrid’s hair.
“Fuck, is there anythin’ this mouth of yours can’t do?” Duck inches further in, grunting when he meets the resistance of Indrid’s throat, “first time I’ll cum in years and it’s gonna happen in ten goddamn seconds.”
Indrid whimpers, looking up with gaze he hopes conveys just how hot that would be. Then he gasps around his cock as a vine circles his own, stroking it up and down in time with the vines fucking him deeper. One vine inside him curls and presses until it finds his prostate and rubs it relentlessly until he cums across the ground. He’s still crying out, muffled and delighted, when Duck tightens his hold and fucks his face, his sharp, demanding thrusts giving way almost instantly to cum spurting down Indrid’s throat.
The spirit steps back as the vines set Indrid on his feet. When they disappear and his legs won’t support him, Duck is there to hold him, kissing the sweat from his face and breathing hard against his neck.
“Duck? Can we do this again?”
A gentle laugh and a kiss on his shoulder, “Insatiable little thing, ain’t you. Yeah, sugar, we can do this every night if you want. Or, uh, the vine part at least. I can only take a human form at midnight on a full moon, or if someone summons me, but that ain’t happened in a long-ass time.”
“That’s alright. I just…something about you makes me feel like I can be myself. Like I can let go and someone will catch me.”
Duck looks up, smiling, “Anytime you need me to, darlin.”
—--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Indrid visits Duck every afternoon and almost every night for two months. Even when he’s not at Duck’s side, Duck does his best to show him he’s thinking of him. He can make the breeze in the garden feel like it’s kissing his cheek, and more than once he’s pinched his butt when he was bent over doing some chore or other. Indrid always murmurs, “fresh” and blows a kiss his way.
But for the last three days, Indrid has been listless. He leaves for home right after work, apologizing to Duck for breaking what he sees as their dates. He brings his sketchbook at lunch, but doesn’t draw, and he’s not eating much either.
Today, Indrid comes and sits down on Duck. He stays quiet for a long time and Duck lets him, pets his leg gently with a vine to show he’s here if Indrid needs to talk.
“Duck? You said there was a way to summon you. Is it hard?”
“Nah, just not somethin’ that interests most folks.”
Indrid sniffs, quickly wiping under his glasses, “If I summon you at home tonight, would that okay?”
“Of course, darlin. Here” he draws his sigil in the dirt, Indrid taking a picture with his phone when he’s done, “draw that and light a candle. I’ll be there soon as you do.”
“Thank you.” Indrid stands, then crouches down and kisses the top of Duck’s form.
Just after sunset Duck’s whole body tingles, and then he’s human and standing in a tiny studio apartment. Indrid is sitting at the table with relief on his face.
“Hey, sugar. Oh, uh, okay then.” He wraps his arms around the humans as he burrows against him. He pets silver hair, so goddamn glad that he can, and adds “what’s wrong, ‘Drid?”
“The last few days have been awful. I got a horrible series of emails from my father, work has been so busy I nearly had a meltdown because I got overstimulated, and I had three people back out of art commissions. And there are all these little bad things too, and I just, I just, I wanted to hug you. I wanted to know if you even wanted to be part of my world beyond the farm.”
“Oh sugar, of course I do. I figured you didn’t want me creepin’ into the rest of your life, that’s why I didn’t offer the sigil sooner. Guess that was kinda silly of me.”
Indrid nods and clings to him.
“I’m here now, though. So howsabout you tell your boyfriend how to cheer you up?’
The human stares at him, surprised. Then he smiles in that way that never fails to chase the loneliness from Duck’s chest.
“Want to watch It’s the Great Pumpkin with me?”
Duck kisses his forehead just to see him smile brighter, “hell yeah.”
goodbye, lucifer (but not really!)
I cannot BELIEVE that I just watched the last episode of my favourite show.
I usually cram everything I have to in tags under gifsets I reblog, but for this final season I'll go through the pain of actually writing shit down. I'll try to keep it short, and I'll try not to ramble. (Edit: Did not accomplish that.)
what i loved
SCREAMS
God, soooooooo much!!
Deckerstar baby
Okay, so when Rory showed up in the trailer I was like "Ugh, another annoying angel? Meh." FORGIVE ME, my sweet murder child! Of all the things I thought they might do, a Deckerstar baby was DEAD LAST on my list. And a daughter no less, I just... When she says she's Lucifer's daughter, I was like *SCREAMS*, but when we learn she's Lucifer AND Chloe's daughter, I completely lost it. My boyfriend's on a trip with his friends this week and I'm sooo grateful for that, I made the weirdest, loudest, ugliest noises while watching this season, I ran around our apartment like a maniac, I squealed and laughed and cried and just generally lost my mind. But when she says that?? Oh my God. Also the way Lucifer reacted when Chloe shows him the pregnancy test? Straight outta fanfic.
Lucifer being a father
Oh my God?? I've always said he'd be the BEST father, and actually seeing it on screen... I love the parallel of him being ridiculously over the top with Rory at first, just like God and Lucifer in S5. The way he looks at her when he sees her playing the guitar? Their duet?? Instantly one of my favourite scenes. Them driving in the Corvette, their last day together, how he keeps her from killing Le Mec? Just murder me.
Established Deckerstar
All the hugs and kisses?? The declarations of love, the besotted looks, the absolute power couple we got? Their look from Maze and Eve's wedding, OH MY GOD???? Just, these two are so pretty and we got SO MUCH. Also, their scenes with Rory?? I just love them so much...
(More under the cut!)
Ella's storyline
I wanted a reveal for her so badly, and the way it turned out was brilliant! I loved her figuring it out for herself and calling everyone out lmao. I especially loved poor Carol returning to that room full of shocked people. They had some GREAT punchlines and gags this season, absolutely hilarious! I also love Lucifer's parting gift for her and that she finally found a good one with Carol.
Hugs, so many hugs!
That's it, that's the paragraph.
The Police storyline
As a white person who has literally never once had a problem with the police, I know this is not my place to say, but I think they did a good job? Not giving into the "a few bad apples" excuse but acknowledging that the whole system needs to change? I also really enjoyed the scenes with Amenadiel and Officer Harris, showing what policework could and should look like.
Maze and Eve's happily ever after
I'm so glad auntie Maze and auntie Eve got their happy ending! And that wedding was a bomb. Also, "You're my hell!", lmao.
Dan's ascend to heaven
First of, great to know his only torture was Belios' lack of table tennis skills. Secondly, how very fitting for the show that they didn't hand Dan his happy ending easily, that he fought and won it for himself. Him as a ghost and him as Le Mec was equally funny, and his talk with Trixie was just perfect, literally tears you guys.
Amenadiel becoming God
I mean, dude's perfect for the job! From the loyal, distant, obeying servant to a God who wants to work as a team with his siblings, who wants the Celestials to experience the human world, who hates injustice and loves fiercely? In this universe, I couldn't imagine anyone better suited to be God.
Nobody misses the case of the week
At least I don't! God, I wish they'd tried this out sooner.
The bittersweet ending
Let's preface this by saying I HATE bittersweet endings. Give me a happily ever after or else. And yet, and yet!! I think the ending they settled on is perfect. Would I have loved it if Lucifer had a life on earth with Chloe, Trixie and Rory? God, yes. Do I get emotional over him being alone in hell, again? Goddd, yes. But still. I so love that he found his calling in the end, that they reunited, and that he actually makes good on his promise from S5 to change the system. Also, I don't care if this is canon or fanon for now, but they totally spend time in heaven with Rory and visit earth whenever they like. And this would have been my ideal ending - them being free to go where they like, and I don't see why they shoudn't. It's definitely more satisfying than just traipsing off to heaven indefinitely, so I really, really loved that.
what i didn't (do feel free to skip this!)
Lucifer missing out on Chloe's life on earth and being alone in hell again. Chloe being left again.
Time travel shenanigans. I just finished Dark and that was enough of a mindfuck. Do not want to think about loops for this show, thank you very much.
Chloe felt a little too housewifey in the first episodes, but it thankfully didn't stay that way for long.
Lucifer and Chloe talking about keeping secrets for a whole episode, and then NOBODY TALKING ABOUT URIEL AND CANDY. I mean, ahhhhhhh! If you don't want to talk about it, then don't, but don't remind people of it constantly and then NOT discuss it. It drives me mad, honestly, how many times they referenced these storylines only to completely ignore them when there were opportunities to resolve them. Ahhh. That's what fic is for, I guess.
Adam. Like, why? Bye, dude.
what i'll keep with me
When someone I'd just met at my boyfriend's cousin's wedding in 2019 recommended this "funny, little show" to me that intrigued them because they were interested in finding their faith, I really didn't think I'd write all this three years later.
Lucifer is my third fandom, and it won't be my last, but it sure as hell - ha - will stay with me. I resonate so deeply with Lucifer as a character because he fights with the idea of God, fights with this concept of a benevolent father that everyone seems to believe in but never fit his experience. I come from a Christian family and studied theology, but somewhere along the lines I had to come to terms with the fact that the faith I had as a child and teenager didn't fit me anymore. I want to believe again, and maybe someday I will, but right now I don't know that. So Lucifer's journey with that meant a lot to me. I'd like to find what Ella did, I guess.
Although I never really thought Lucifer needed redemption, I loved the whole "anybody can be redeemed" message as well. And hell reform! Hell is such a weird, awful construct - speaking as the theology expert - bringing a bit of purgatory in in this universe is really fucking cool.
Also, I binged Lucifer when I was alone in hospital late at night. That experience alone I'll never forget.
So, I guess - thank you!! Thank you to the cast and crew, to the fans who campaigned for season four, to Ildy and Joe, to the writers and the directors and the people who brought lunch: Thank you so much for this incredible show. I'm not ready to say goodbye, not by a long shot, and I hope this fandom feels the same.
Yabba dabba do me, I love my stupid little show!!!
BLUE, YOU ARE LITERALLY MY FAVORITE PERSON IN THIS FANDOM. YOU AND YOUR BEAUTIFUL BRAIN. I'M NEVER GOING TO GET OVER THIS ASK.
Footage of me creating this playlist:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look. You guys know that I love Zutara. But I don't think you all realize that I love Sukka just as much. Their love is so pure and their vibe as a couple is just... *sigh* 💙💚💙💚💙💚 So putting together this playlist was so much fun. I'll put all explanations of songs below the cut because this reply is already long without what comes next (but you should read them because you'll get the full effect of this playlist).
All The Small Things by blink-182
Cross Me (feat. Chance the Rapper & PnB Rock) by Ed Sheeran
I Think He Knows by Taylor Swift
I Like Me Better (Spotify Studios Version) by Lauv
Ho Hey by The Lumineers
Jackie and Wilson by Hozier
Passenger Seat by Death Cab For Cutie
Stand By Me by Florence + The Machine
The Bones - with Hozier by Maren Morris
Yours - Wedding Edition by Russell Dickerson
Send me a playlist title and I’ll give you 5-10 songs I think would go on it!
All The Small Things
She left me roses by the stairs/Surprises let me know she cares
First of all, Suki would. Second of all, I firmly believe that Sokka and Suki would constantly be doing little things to show each other that they care. Sokka would send Suki his drawings and things he's carved for her. Suki would send Sokka little gadgets and pick up fun little accessories for him at the market. They'd leave out snacks for one another. And they would always, always be there to support one another 100% of the time.
Cross Me
Just know, if you cross her, then you cross me
"WHERE. IS. SUKI?"
I rest my case.
I Think He Knows
He's so obsessed with me, and boy I understand/Boy I understand
I love this song for Sokka and Suki because we all know that Sokka throws off major "THAT'S MY WIFE" vibes in regard to Suki. As he should. But if you think that badass, super cool Suki isn't also low-key super into Sokka in the same way you are wrong. She's the type of girl to totally get why he's into her. (Why wouldn't he be? DUH.) But she would also 100% be like, "Check out this hot, goofy genius! HE'S MINE. I LANDED HIM! THAT'S MY HUSBAND!!"
I Like Me Better
To not know who I am but still know that I'm good long as you're here with me//Damn, I like me better when I'm with you
I picked this song because of the influence Suki had on Sokka's character. Their interactions on Kyoshi Island really did change him for the better. Sokka spent so much of the series lost and feeling as though he didn't belong, but Suki brought out the best in him and helped his character evolve. He saw her, this incredible warrior with a heart of gold who wouldn't take his misogynist crap, and started working to be a better person. And I think we can all agree it was awesome to see him come into his own as a strategist and warrior. A large part of that is thanks to Suki. And Sokka would acknowledge that.
Ho Hey
I belong with you, you belong with me/You're my sweetheart
I don't think this choice needs much of an explanation. Just... They belong together, you guys.
Jackie and Wilson
She blows outta nowhere, roman candle of the wild/Laughing away through my feeble disguise/No other version of me I would rather be tonight/And, Lord, she found me just in time//She's gonna save me/Call me "baby"/Run her hands through my hair
Again, I'd like to point back to Sokka and Suki's first meeting. She comes out of nowhere, sees right through him, and it's thanks to her that Sokka changes his views on women (it takes time, of course, and loss, but he gets there). Also, the loss that Sokka experiences with Yue clearly affects his relationship with Suki in Book 2. He has to learn to be comfortable with the fact that Suki can save herself as well as him. And by the time Book 3 rolls around, we see them working together as a seamless team. He knows she has his back and she knows he has hers.
Passenger Seat
When you feel embarrassed/Then I'll be your pride/When you need directions/Then I'll be the guide/For all time
Oh, this song is so subtly Sukka. I hear these specific lines and think of Toph and Aang laughing at Sokka's Suki sand sculpture and Suki being proud of the fact that he even tried. I think of them being each other's compass, guiding light, and level head in stressful situations. They are so steady for and so true to one another. And I'm not crying, you're crying.
Stand By Me
If the sky that we look upon/Should tumble and fall/Or the mountains should crumble to the sea/I won't cry, I won't cry/No, I won't shed a tear/Just as long as you stand, stand by me
I chose this song because of how Sokka and Suki make one another stronger. They bolster each other. They face down certain death in the knowledge that their partner has their back and that's a beautiful thing. (Also, Florence Welch's voice on this track is incredibly emotive and intensifies the Sukka feels.)
The Bones
When there ain't a crack in the foundation/Baby, I know any storm we're facing/Will blow right over while we stay put/The house don't fall when the bones are good
This is my quintessential Sukka song. I always think of them older, maybe ten years after the war, when I hear this song. The two of them are as unshakeable as they've ever been. Was their first meeting great? No. But they grew together and formed something solid and real. I'm not one to advocate for childhood sweethearts or high school sweethearts (which is what they would've been in a "normal" storyline), but my god. These two would've been the teenage sweethearts who made it. They'd still be super into one another at 85 and just as in love as they'd ever been. If they had trials, they would've only pulled through stronger. These are two people who are capable of seeing past first impressions and loving one another for their true selves and... UGH. I LOVE them, okay?
Yours
I was one in a hundred billion/A burned out star in a galaxy/Just lost in the sky, wonderin' why/Everyone else shines out but me//But I came to life when I first kissed you/The best me has his arms around you/You make me better than I was before/Thank God I'm yours
Sokka said it himself: Compared to the others in the group, he didn't feel special because they could all bend and he couldn't. He lost his boomerang and had an identity crisis. That's the boy Suki met on Kyoshi Island--the boy who felt inferior to his little sister and to the Avatar; the boy who had to put on a false facade of bravado because he was scared... The boy who thought that it was a man's job to be the protector. The boy who thought a girl couldn't kick his ass purely because she was a girl.
Our girl ignited that change in him. Sokka knows full well what Suki's influence has done for him and he adores her for it. He's grateful for her impact on his life and he's obviously blown away by the fact that she loves him. You can tell it's the kind of relationship where he realized that if he was going to be worthy of her, he needed to prove it to her because she knew her worth. She wouldn't settle for a guy who thought she was inferior to him--she wanted someone who would see her as an equal. By the end of the series, she's his partner in every respect. He proves to her that he trusts her to have his back, that he trusts her judgement, that he trusts her in general.
Sokka knows that he's the best version of himself with Suki. He would 100% spend the rest of his life in awe of the fact that she loves him and that he's landed this miracle of a woman who has always seen him as an equal--even when he didn't feel equal to anyone else because he couldn't bend.
24.12 - mistletoe kiss, lip gallagher
Title: Mistletoe Kiss Theme: Mistletoe Fandom / Character(s): Lip Gallagher x OFC/Reader (female) Warnings: Alcohol tw. Also, probably hella fluffy. Word Count: my guesstimate is roughly 1.2k.
Hey, hi! So if you guys haven’t caught on by now, I’ve decided to take part in the 12 Days of Christmas challenge that @champbucks put out back in November! And if you’re reading this, tonight is the end! And I’ve chosen Lip Gallagher for this prompt. This takes place roughly around season 2?3? It’s when Lip is still doing the tutoring and he was tutoring Karen. Annyway, let’s just get into it, shall we?
Tagging:
There really isn’t anyone on my tag list for Shameless, so I’m not tagging anyone. If you want to be added to it, shoot me a dm/ask over at my main @snarkandsarcasmftw and I’ll happily add you. Or you can click the link below and add yourself.
“You’re on the wrong side of the tracks, princess. What’s that big shot boyfriend of yours gonna think, huh?” Lip’s breath was warm against the shell of my ear as he stopped behind me. His chest pressing lightly into my back as his hand wandered down to my hip, squeezing, molding me right against his body.
It was a clear sign of intimacy and I clearly enjoyed every second. I peered up at him from over my shoulder and gave a teasing little smile as I shrugged. “Maybe all the house parties uptown got boring? Or maybe..” I turned around to face Lip completely, stepping closer to him as I did so. “Maybe your earlier offer after our tutoring session today intrigued me, Lip.”
“Oh yeah? What was that offer? I’m havin trouble rememberin.” Lip teased playfully and I pouted, pretending as if I were going to turn away. He spun me back around, pulling me close to him. “Karen’s pissed. She found out I blew her off to tutor ya.”
“Oh? Well gosh, I’m just so sorry. I didn’t mean to cause any trouble between you and Karen.” I batted my lashes, biting my lip as I gazed up at Lip.
Reaching out, my hand circled his wrist, leading the hand that he held his bottle of liquor in straight for my lips.
He chuckled. “I thought good girls didn’t drink.” Lip teased.
“I never said I was a  good girl, now did I?” I teased him right back, swallowing the sip I’d taken and trying not to grimace as it burnt all the way down my throat and then my stomach, settling in. I could look at him and tell he wasn’t buying it and he saw right through me. He pulled his hand and the bottle away and chuckled, shaking his head.
“Easy, doll. That’s the hard shit.”
I pouted a little. A group of football players rushed through the door, pushing Lip and I even closer together in the process. And as that happened, I happened to glance up. And when I saw the mistletoe directly overhead, I didn’t think, I just acted.
And to my surprise, I wasn’t the only one.
I rose to tiptoe, my arms going around Lip’s neck. My fingers toying with the hair at the nape of his neck. Lip’s arms went around my waist, pulling me off the floor just slightly. His face inched closer and closer to mine. The seconds it took for our mouths to meet honestly felt like hours and by the time his lips locked on my lower lip, sucking until I could feel it swelling under the pressure, I was whimpering quietly and had melted completely against him. His fingertips dug into my sides, squeezing as he kept me held in place exactly as I was. My lips parted willingly and his tongue swept between, tracing carefully over my teeth before finally meeting my tongue and tangling with it. One of his hands moved up my back, tangling in my thick braid, tugging it loose and using his grip on my hair to pull my mouth even deeper into the kiss. I nipped at his bottom lip and his free hand lowered, gripping a handful of my ass as he pulled me up the front of his body, growling quietly as our mouths continued to clash.
The kiss broke and I pulled away a little to breathe, Lip chuckling as I did so.
“Boyfriend ain’t gonna like that much, hm?”
“I broke up with him earlier. Apparently, I spend too much time with you lately and he wasn’t happy about it.” the words tumbled out over each other and I felt my cheeks burning because I really hadn’t meant to say that.
At least, not out loud. To him. Then again, I found myself thinking, tonight is one of those nights where I haven’t stopped to think about anything I’ve done. And so far, it’s gone pretty okay.
He wasn’t really saying anything. I was starting to panic a little. I was about to backtrack. Apologize and make a hasty retreat.
To my surprise, as soon as it registered what I’d said, Lip was grinning. Pulling me closer to him all over again and wrapping his arms around me. “Where you goin, huh?”
“I..” I trailed off, going quiet as Lip gripped my jaw, guiding my gaze back up to him. I bit my lip and took a few shaky breaths. “I thought you were gonna laugh or something, I don’t know..” going quiet all over again.
“Do I look like I’m laughin?” Lip asked quietly, his forehead settling against mine. “In case ya missed it, doll. I’ve kinda been dropping not so subtle hints for a while now how I really feel. Hell, I wouldn’t have taken the offer to tutor you if I didn’t wanna get to know you better and didn’t know how else to do it without that big shithead you called a boyfriend hangin around all the time.”
I gaped at him, mouth opening and closing. “You..”
“Yep.” Lip answered, chuckling quietly as he pulled me into another long and slower kiss. Our bodies rubbed together a few times during, sending shivers racing right through me.
“You walkin home?” he asked quietly as the kiss broke.
I nodded, although given the turn of events, I really didn’t want to go home tonight. I spoke up again quickly, “I mean.. I don’t have to, it’s not like my parents are home to give a shit about whether I’m there or not. They’re in Manhattan or something…” I shuffled my feet, staring up at him.
Lip chuckled. “Good girls don’t spend the night at a guy’s house, sweetheart.”
“And again, Lip. I never said I was a good girl.” I reminded him, laughing softly as my mouth brushed against his all over again and he pulled me in for another kiss.
“You’re not like the girls I know though, darlin.” Lip muttered with a soft smile as we pulled apart as the kiss broke. Our bodies brushed and I molded myself against him  letting  out a quiet whimper. His fingers dug into my hip and his forehead rested against mine all over again. I melted into him and rested my head against his chest. “I think I’m feeling a little tipsy.” I mumbled.
“You wanna get outta here, sweetheart? My place is just a block away.” Lip eyed me with tender concern. I think at this point it was becoming laughably clear that I did not drink. Ever. And that the huge sips I’d taken of his bottle throughout tonight  were really starting to work on me.
“Yeah, please?”
He chuckled, scooping me up and carrying me out the door. Once we were outside and the chill in the air hit me, I cuddled myself into him, burying my face in his neck.
“We’ll get warm in a minute, doll. Just a minute.” Lip promised as he started to walk towards his house. I smiled against his skin and muttered with a soft laugh, “This is not how I pictured tonight going when I left and found myself here after the fight with Johnny.”
“It’s not, huh? That a bad thing or a good one?” Lip asked, gazing down at me.
“Very good.” I hiccupped. “Specially considering you didn’t laugh or anything when I said what I did.” I met his gaze, biting my lower lip as I snuggled against him all over again to stay warm.
It was on the tip of my tongue to ask if all the kisses tonight meant anything, but I didn’t dare right now… Maybe later, when we were both more sober.
For now, I just wanted to enjoy the moment. Be with him and just not think about anything but what was happening right here and now.
Nervous Confessions
Fandom: Pokemon
Characters: Piers/Raihan
A/N: Probably a little ooc, but I’m out of practice for writing and want to pick it up again. A potential start to my au for these boys but yeah. Enjoy!
Summary: Raihan has a confession to tell Piers that could threaten their relationship.
Warning(?): Talk of sexuality and romance terribly explained by yours truly because..... emotions? Yeah um.... hi I’m a single, ace being. If curious about some of the mentioned sexualities and romantic identifications please look up meanings for yourself.
_____
With summer approaching, a new season was about to beginning. Spirits were high, children from across Galar already selected and fitted for their official uniforms. Stakes were high and excitement was booming. The energy within Motostoke stadium was almost intoxicating, dizzying a familiar goth as he stood in one of the many entry ways down to the bleachers.
Piers held the door frame to steady himself as he gazed upon the crowd. It was amazing what could change in four years. Leon stood proudly, presenting the Galar league to the children participating and the audience; despite the whole region knowing their names.
Milo, Nessa, Kabu, Allister, Bea, Bede, Melony, Gordie, his own sister; he paused when he caught sight of Marnie. She looked so happy, smiling ear to ear as she held Morpeko in her arms. The two of them were waving to the roaring crowd, only to be pulled into another gym leader. Piers rolled his eyes as Raihan snagged her for a quick selfie with all the trainers in the background.
There were just some things time didn’t change.
Standing to the side of the stadium, Piers let out a smokey sigh as he exhaled from his previously inhaled drag. His cigarette glowed brightly before he gave it a flick, sending the newly born phoenix to an ashy grave by his feet for the wind to blow away. “There you are,” a familiar voice boomed. Icy, blue eyes glanced up from their daze as tacky shoes appeared before him. “‘Bout time,” Peris sighed softly as he clipped the burning stick of paper and tobacco. Raihan made a face at the smell but approached the other none-the-less. “Ah, sorry to keep you waiting, love. Wanted to see how Leon was doing and take a quick selfie with Sword. She’s getting so big,” he stated like an aging parent.
“Marnie too,” Piers hummed as he stood up and tried to crack his neck a bit. Raihan laughed a bit. “How long ‘til she’s your height now?” Piers paused after a soft crack was heard before shooting him a glare. “Ah, I’m just Joshin’ ya.” The taller finally latched his arms around the smaller and nuzzled into the messily bunned hair. “How was work,” Raihan asked as he continued to hold his partner of three years. “Took the day off to catch up with all the excitement,” Piers hummed as he nuzzled into the other’s scent.
A bit musty from sweat that had cooled over the course of the day mixed with some of his favorite smelling cologne. It was soothing, comforting. “Ah, really? I’ve been trying to get you to break for months now but this is what gets your head outta that song book?” Peris shot him a glare from his chest; which from Raihan’s perspective just looked like a puppy pout. Before either the gym leader or musician could say anything, there was a low grumble heard from between the two. Raihan blushed a bit as Piers’ glare broke into a small smile. “Dinner,” Piers asked.
“Walk and dine,” Raihan added to the offer. “It’s a gorgeous night.” Piers hummed. “Yeah, but the palace will probably be crawling with eager trainers.” Raihan hummed. “Alright, how about over by Hammerlocke, yeah? Kids can’t get in without all three gym badges and right now, the pokemon over there are probably too intense, right?” Piers gave a small nod after a moment of thought. “Well, let’s go then,” he said softly, attempting to lead the other off; but to no avail. “Actually, I was thinking we call a cab and enjoy the night sky from above before hitting it from below?” Piers gave a small nod of agreement as a small breeze caused him to move a bit closer as Raihan tinkered away with his phone to alert a flying taxi of their location for a pick up.
The taller man merely pulled his lover in a bit closer before submitting the request and quickly striking a pose for a date-night selfie. It irked Piers, but he just hid his face in the other. His face was all over Raihan’s Pokegram, so what if he ducked away this time? Raihan clearly didn’t care. He never forced Piers to smile or pose anymore, just would take a bunch of pictures and post the most flattering of the two of them.
“Date night with a babe,” Raihan said softly as he typed. “Don’t you dare,” Piers protested, only to squeak from a small squeeze to his side. Turning to look at the offending touch’s origin, Raihan’s hand merely rested against his side once more. He turned with a pout towards the other before gently, but firmly jabbing him in the ribs. Raihan jolted slightly before smirking. “Is that a challenge?” Oh hell no. “Not in public,” Piers hissed as he put his hands up as Raihan moved to pounce for the kill. The panic was soon killed as wind came crashing down on the two of them, a cab landing behind Piers. Looking up, the two were greeted with a friendly smile and wave. “Gym leader! Piers as well. Are you both looking for a ride,” the pleasant taxi driver asked. Piers blushed a bit and started to fiddle with his bangs, social anxiety getting to him.
Raihan wrapped an arm around him with a thumbs up and a wink. “Yep! Taking the Mr. here on a nice date night. Any chance you could help with that?” Piers gently smacked at Raihan’s stomach. He was so open about everything! Raihan merely laughed as the cab driver hopped down to get the door. “Absolutely. It’s a beautiful night tonight. Where are you two looking to go?” “Eh, just over to Hammerlocke. But maybe, you could give a bit more of a scenic route?” Piers blushed a bit more, leaning more into the hold. “Why are you doing this,” he hissed out. “I said it was a special date night, right? Come on babe, you love looking at stars! “ He wasn’t wrong.
With darkened cheeks and his head down, Piers headed for the cab. A hand was offered to help him up that he took hesitantly. “Thank you,” he uttered to the sweet older man who merely gave him a wink before seeing Raihan in. Shutting the door behind them, he looked back to the ordering customer. “Scenic route back to Hammerlocke, yeah? How about just a nice scenic route over Galar?” Raihan smiled. “Yeah, that would be awesome!” Piers merely leaned into his shoulder, moving his arm away from his side to get closer. “Alrighty then. You boys take it easy now. Corviknight and I’ll show you two the sites.” With that, he climbed back onto his pokemon leaving the couple be.
As he departed, Raihan looked over the male snuggled into his side and merely held him closer with a smile. His stomach churned and heart tugged as his mind reminded him the point of all this. This was becoming a serious relationship. They were three years in to it, four years into a strong friendship. Both were built off of emotional trust and openness. He felt guilty hiding something like this from Piers but was scared of the outcome it would bring. “How was your day,” Piers asked sleepily as he took in the aforementioned soothing scent. “Ah, pretty dull. Not much going on besides the opening ceremony so I gave my pokemon a day to breathe.” “And your pupils?” Raihan nodded. “They had the option to train or rest today. I’ll check in with them tomorrow. It’s going to be crazy busy soon.” Piers nodded, remembering the chaos from his own gym leader days.
“Wonder if any one will steal the crown from Sword,” he muttered. “Eh, we’ll see. Frankly, I’d like to take another crack at battling her.” Piers rolled his eyes. “Of course,” he muttered, snaking an arm around to gently hold Raihan. It was going to be quite a while before they got to do something like this again. Their only interactions would probably be rushed between making sure Marnie was taking care of herself and making sure this one was doing alright. “Hey, you don’t think I have a chance,” Raihan laughed. “No, you do. Just wish you’d ease up on your obsession with battle.” Raihan looked confused. “Huh?” Piers paused before sitting up some and shaking his head. “Ah… you just kind of go off about battling some times. Like when you tried to befriend me, all you did was keep dragging me into battles and complimenting me.” Raihan scoffed. “We hung out too!” “After said battles or because you wanted to battle me.” The taller pouted before rolling his eyes. “Fine, less battle talk and asking. Better?” Piers shook his head with a sigh. “I’m not saying it’s a bad thing,” Raihan moved closer to hold him again.
“Just, you get a little to into battle sometimes and that’s all that seems to exist to you.” Piers gently rubbed Raihan’s cheek as the taller man nuzzled into him. “Trying to defeat Leon for ten years only to be bested by a ten-year-old really shatters a guy, ya know?” Piers paused. Oh. He hadn’t thought about it that way. “Sorry,” he said softly as he was pulled in closer. “Don’t be. I do get a bit carried away in battle, I’ll admit it. But it’s my life, you know? I’ve come so close to beating Leon so many times in mandatory battles and off hand ones, but with Sword…. Hah, she puts up a challenge.
“He’s training her into quite the champion. I’ll give him that.” Piers looked up a bit confused by the last part but didn’t question it too much. “He’s a good chairman. Glad he’s treating Sword like a real kid, not a star child.” Raihan looked at him a bit confused before laughing. “Yeah, because you and Sonia scared him shitless his first day.” What? “How did we scare him,” Piers asked sitting up some to readjust. “Huh? Don’t you remember storming up to him and telling him off?” Piers thought a moment. “I’ve told him off a few times.” “Ah, well, allow me to jog your memory,” he said rather dorkily. Story time.
“Basically, you and Sonia jumped on him about not making the same mistakes Rose did. About letting Sword come home and be part of a functional family and remembering she’s a child….. Not a walking advertisement as you said.” Piers thought a moment before nodding. “Ah, right. Thought he’d just brush me off though. Wasn’t he seeing Sonia at the time? Thought that’s what drove the point home.” Raihan made a face. “Yeah, not yet. But no, you both scared him. They started seeing each other a few months after. They lasted maybe a year? Not sure. She’s been with Nessa ever since.” Piers blinked. Normally Raihan told him all of media and regional gossip. Had he tuned this part out?
Probably, Piers didn’t care much for gossip. “As long as she and Nessa are happy, all that matters there.” Raihan nodded. “You didn’t think it was odd I kept inviting him to hang out with us,” he then inquired. “Not really. Your said to be rare rivals and best friends, right? Or at least th4e closest he got to a friend under that whack job’s rein.” Raihan made a face before nodding. “Yeah, well, you know…. wanted him to be happy too.” This was weird. “Why are you randomly bringing this stuff up?”
Raihan froze. Should he tell him now? Probably not a good time considering their trapped in a small cabin. Piers can’t just leave. That would be so uncool to do to him. “Hey you two, the clouds are opening up. Take a look at the sky.” Ah, the voice of his savior. Raihan let out a sigh of relief as Piers glanced out the window. Raihan leaned forward eagerly. “Sure is beautiful,” he commented. “You bet,” the kind man said back. Piers merely smiled at the sight. Raihan moved closer to the smaller as they gazed into the brightly lit sky together.
“There’s something just so soothin’ about the stars.” Raihan nodded as he moved in to cuddle again. Piers didn’t resist. He leaned back into the affectionate touch. “Babe,” Raihan said softly. “Hm,” Piers responded. “Do you like Leon? I mean I should have asked after I brought him around year two but….. are you alright with him?” Piers made a face as he turned to look at the other. “What’s with the Leon talk? Something wrong?” Raihan quickly shook his head. “No, no. Nothing’s wrong just….. curious, you know? I know you had some mixed feelings about him as a brother to Hop and his ego and all that but after getting to know him?” Piers shrugged. “It’s not like we hang out without you. What you see, I see.”
Raihan sighed. “But do you like what you see?” Weird wording. Piers made a face. “I… guess? He’s always pretty nice to me and the kids so yeah. He’s alright. Wish he’d stop taking the problems of the region as if they're his alone to deal with but that’s something for him to work on.” Raihan smiled a bit too wide. “What?” The tallr froze. Whoops. “Ah, nothing. Just happy to hear you do like him.” “I would have told you if I didn’t,” Piers retorted as he looked back out the window. He smiled as he looked down over Turrfeild. Milo herding the Wooloo to bed with the help of his brother and some of his pupils.
“Probably gonna stop by Milo’s tomorrow,” Piers commented off handedly. “Yeah,” Raihan asked, dying to just rip the bandage off right now. “Yeah. Might bring him dinner. He’s the first gym leader after all. Curry should be enough for him and his pupils right?” Piers turned, seriously asking Raihan his opinion. The other nodded. “Yeah but it’s supposed to be hot tomorrow. Maybe nothing too spicy?” Piers nodded. “Thanks,” he said softly. “Yeah.”
The rest of the ride was pretty quiet, just two dorky lovers staring in pleasant silence at the sky; cuddled into each other. It had been about an hour before they finally landed, Piers nearly being asleep. Raihan smiled before draping his hoodie over the smaller’s shoulders as the door opened to the cab. Piers once more took the kind, older man’s hand as he stepped down, thanking him once more. Raihan thanked him, taking a selfie with the three to compose for the night’s date. Piers felt it was over stepping but the pilot assured them it was fine.
Finally stopping somewhere to get dinner, Raihan spotted a familiar figure. His window of time was coming closer to an end. Leon smiled, waving to the two of them before Sword dragged him off for their hotel to share the food with their pokemon. “He’s really her big brother now,” Piers commented as they stood in the pick up line. “Huh,” Raihan asked in panic before registering the words. “Oh. Yeah,” he laughed. Piers made a face. “Your doing it again,” he grumbled. “Doing what?” “Acting weird. Can you just tell me what’s going on already?” Raihan made a face before humming. “Maybe we could head back to my place rather than take that walk?” Piers nodded, just wanting the other to be honest with him already.
The walk back was quiet, apart from Piers thanking Raihan for his meal. Entering the familiar home, Piers set his food on the counter before moving back to the door to hang the hoodie and his coat along with removing his shoes. He was dressed in a loose, thin, simple black stank sop and loose, dark shorts to match. He crashed on Raihan’s couch, taking his food with him as the other went to check on his beloved pokemon. His own were home, enjoying their day off. He made sure to feed them before he left.
“You can turn on the television,” Raihan said, reaching for the clicker. “I want to talk first,” Piers stated, looking at him like an upset parent. Raihan retracted his hand before sighing. “Right, right.” “What’s been bothering you all night. Did you have a fight with Leon?” Raihan shook his head. How to say this without killing their relationship. “Um…. I’ve discovered somethings about myself over the last few years.” ‘Good start’, he thought, ‘weak delivery’. “You know, as we people do. We evolve and change with time.” Piers quirked a brow. “Why are you nervously stalling?” Raihan froze before feeling his eyes start to water. “Look, just give me a tick would ya? This is scary.” Piers sat up, placing his food down to face the other.
Not once had the idea of them breaking up crossed his mind so far, just fear of the other’s well being. They had a relationship built on emotion and openness, so if Raihan couldn’t be truthful and open with him…. he felt maybe he, himself had done something to hurt Raihan. “Is…. this about my battle comment? I’m sorry Rai, I didn’t mean it like that,” Piers started to apologize. Raihan laughed, tearing up more. “No, no. Just, give me a minute. I can do this.” Piers nodded but offered a hand to hold nonetheless. The other shyly took it, rubbing his thumb across Piers’ boney knuckles soothingly.
“So, I know you don’t look into, like…. sexuality and romantic terms but…. there is more than like gay, pan, bi, ace and straight. Like you are romantically gay but sexually ace.” Piers gave a weird look. “Basically you are romantically, or emotionally interested in a significant other but…. you aren’t looking to have intercourse with them. Like we’ve only really done fluffy, soft stuff for the last three years and it’s been great.” Piers narrowed his eyes. “So…. is there a problem with that or?” Raihan held his hand lovingly and shook his head. “No, no, no! Just…. Okay Raihan,” he sighed to himself. “Your being super uncool. Just rip the bandage off.” Piers cocked his head before seeing more tears form.
Damn it.
He moved closer and just held the taller. “Whatever it is, it’s nothing we can't handle. Please, just calm down.” Raihan froze. The smaller held him firmly, hovering over his lap as he nuzzled closer into his scent. “I love you no matter what you identify as, if that's the issue. Just relax. You act like you haven’t told me about more personal things like bathroom problems.” Way to kill the moment. Raihan snorted, tears coming down his face. Piers frowned before reaching up to gently wipe the away before gently kissing each eyelid.
Darker arms wrapped around his petite torso. Piers was trapped, Raihan’s face buried into his clothed torso. “Arceus, I don’t deserve you,” he whimpered. This caught Piers off guard. He gently started toying with Raihan's dreadlocks, humming and shushing soothingly as the other cried into him. Gently, he reached his free hand from Raihan’s shoulder and moved his hand down to the of the uniform he wore. Pulling it up, he watched as the shaking skin grew slightly bumpy from the new air hitting it. He played with the dark locks of hair for a little longer before moving the hand to hold up the shirt back and gently tracing his nails up and down the taller’s back.
Raihan jumped slightly before nuzzling into Piers more, sniffles subsiding slightly. ‘This is super uncool of you Raihan! You act like you’ve never dated before! Man up, stop crying like a Sobble and just tell him!’ He shivered from the touch before mewling slightly. ‘But what if he leaves me? What if he takes this wrong?’ “Shhhh,” Piers uttered soothingly as he dragged his nails gently up and down the spine once more. “Just relax,” he cooed. ‘Well, I’ll just have to explain it so that Piers can understand!’ Raihan’s brain was racing back and forth as his stomach churned slightly with fear.
As the sniffles stopped and Raihan lay motionless against him, Piers sighed. He moved to lower himself down to be level with the other for a proper hug. “Rai, relax,” Piers cooed again as he nuzzled into his neck. His nails gently traced up the back for the end, kissing the skin softly. Raihan was pulled out of his thoughts as his nerves reacted to the touch. His head popped out, letting out a sequel. Piers froze in alert before looking up at the other. He then smirked before filed nails started tickling his lower sides. Raihan screamed out before shaking his head squirming helplessly.
“Ah, P-Piers sthahahaop it!” Piers smiled moving closer to his ear, easing the touch to hold him still for just a moment. “No more tears, yeah,” he asked softly, fingers moving slowly under his shirt, walking up his sides slowly to his ribs. Raihan squeaked, nodding as his face shifted to one of a smile with excitement. His stomach churns turned slowly to butterflies as his face heated up. “B-Babe,” he giggled. “Hm,” Piers hummed softly with a small smile. “Ah, ah wait. Hey,” Raihan giggled as his hands gently moved up to hold Piers around his waist. “Okay, okay,” he whimpered before bursting into soft, broken streams of giggles. “Nhahaope,” Riahan giggled out as he collapsed into Piers’ shoulder, just giggling his head off as Piers started scratching at his lower ribs. Piers just rolled his eyes, giggling softly himself.
“Dork,” Piers commented lovingly as he started to slowly move his nails up each rib’s bump. Raihan jumped and jolted with squeaks and yelps off and on, just holding him. “You want me to stop,” Piers asked as Raihan seemed much calmer now. “A-Ah….. Not yet,” Raihan giggled out. “Yeah? Alright. Piers stopped for a moment before sitting on the far side of the couch and patting his lap. Raihan felt his face heat up more before he slowly, sheepishly moved to place his feet on the other’s lap. Piers looked a bit surprised. “You sure?” Raihan awkwardly nodded. “Okay.” He left the socks on, gently dragging his nails up and down his soles of each foot, watching as Raihan struggled not to rip his feet back.
He held a pillow tightly to his chest, shaking his head frantically as he dug his heels into Peris’ thighs. “Shahahit,” Raihan squealed. The smaller winced slightly before sighing. “You alright,” he asked as the harsh pressure was starting to hurt. “Y-Yeheheheah! Ah, P-Piers,” Raihan squealed as the smaller grabbed the balls of his feet and started to scratch up and down a little harsher. The free foot quickly moved off of him to kick at the air as Raihan shrieked, jerking around in his seat. “Pheheheirs! Pheheheheirs! Ok-Okay! Whahahahit! Eeek!” The other stopped quickly, smiling softly.
“Alright?” Raihan nodded, taking his foot back, laughing slightly still as he moved away from the other. “Thanks,” Raihan muttered softly as he curled up, slightly embarrassed. Peris smiled, moving to poke at his side. “Oh? Who said I was done?” Raihan’s blue eyes widened before he curled into the arm of his couch more. “Wait? What?!” He was giggling nervously as Piers smirked at hims playfully. “You heard me.” Oh shit. No, no, no!
Raihan squealed before he jumped up. “Okay, I’m ready to talk,” he squealed out. Oh, right. Piers sighed as he stood down, giving a nod of truce before patting the cushion next to him. Raihan nervously took a seat, still holding his cousin before leaning into the other. Piers cleared the other’s face from tears before kissing his cheek softly. “What’s going on?” The other frowned before feeling his stomach churn again and eyes start to water a bit once more.
“So, there’s something I’ve been meaning to talk to you about,” he started again. “Okay,” Piers said calmly. “Do you know what like polygamy or polyamorous means?” Piers thought for a moment before slowly shaking his head. “I don’t think so? Why, what is it?” Okay, big reveal. Don’t be dumb, don’t be dumb! “I…. so I’m pansexual and romantic right? Well I’m also polyamorous.” Piers blinked. “What’s pan mean again,” he asked quietly. Raihan laughed. “Basically gender means nothing. I have no preference of genders, if I like you, I like you. Or that’s at least how I explain it.” Piers gave a nod.
“So… polyamorous?” Raihan sighed. “I am capable of loving more than one person romantically at a time.” He watched as the life drained from Piers’ face. Quickly moving into damage control, he put his hands up. “Let me explain, let me explain! It’s not like that. I still love you! Hold on, hold on.” Piers gave him a look as if to say “get to the point”. “So there are relationships that exist that are composed of more than two people. Like a legit love circle type deal. I just… okay I don’t know how to explain this. One moment.” Piers crossed his arms and quirked a brow. “Are you…. leaving me or?” Raihan shook his head.
“Look, I…. I don’t know how to explain this properly, so…. Hear me out,” he asked softly. Piers gave him a nod. “I’ve had a crush on Leon for…. a while.” Oh? Oh. Piers hummed, leaning forward. “So…. you wanted him to join our relationship which is why you’ve been bringing him around since him and Sonia split?” Yes and no. “I mean that wasn’t the idea but…. I can see why you’d think that but…. Yeah.” Piers sighed. “So you're asking to open the relationship or add to it?” “Add,” Raihan said, gripping the pillow tighter. He was so nervous. Piers made a face before sighing. “I don’t feel that way about Leon, and I doubt he feels that way about me but…. if you want, I don’t mind going on a date or two to just see how it goes.” Raihan gave a silent nod as he sheepishly looked over at the other.
“Are you sure,” he asked Piers. “If your uncomfortable with this, I won’t pursue it.” Piers shrugged. “You’ve dragged him around with us often enough, it’s not much different.” He wasn’t upset, but was just trying to picture if he could develop feelings for the purple haired man. “Are you upset?” Piers shook his head. “Thinking,” Piers stated, reaching for his food off the coffee table again. “Now eat your food, it’s getting cold,” he muttered with a mouthful of food. Raihan smiled softly before receiving the clicker and moving to allow the other into his side. Piers moved close, snuggling into him as they turned on a cheesy movie to make fun of.
The elevator ride up to his floor is a blur because of the red angry haze floating around him. His body is stiff and tense with frustration and unease. His hands are clenching and unclenching into fists. It was a simple assignment and then Tyler had to go and fuck it up. Mitch gritted his teeth and the fist around the strap of his duffle bag clenched tightly in anger. His eyes darted up to the lit up numbered lights and he tried to breathe in through his nose and slowly out through his mouth to calm himself down.
         When the elevator dings signalling that he’s on his floor he stomps out of it wanting to just get into his apartment so he could relax and possibly go to bed early. His eyes dart over to 5H’s apartment door and see that it’s open again. The anger that he had managed to calm down slightly is suddenly back full force. How many times does he have to tell her to keep her door shut and locked?!
         Through his anger he walks right into her apartment and slams the door shut behind him. He hears a small yelp and watches as she comes into view holding a dirty spatula in her hand in front of her and her eyes are wide with shock. His brain doesn’t process that she’s meaning to use the spatula defensively as he stalks over to her, throwing down his duffle bag at her door in the process.
         “Geeze Mitch you scared the crap outta me.” she says as she lets out a slow breath.
         “How many times do I have to tell you to keep your door closed?! Huh?! How many times?!” he shouts as he gets right in her face. She shrinks back only a little bit until her eyes harden on him and she pulls her stance up defensively.
         “For the love of god Mitch, back off about the door!” she snaps back at him and he can feel his anger clawing at his insides. “It’s been months since I’ve left the door open. And it’s too cold out to open a window to help with the stove being on. It’s only to let the air flow through the apartment.” she explains angrily as she throws her hands up around her. She moves to turn away from him and he reaches out and grabs the wrist holding the spatula. He doesn’t grab too tightly but tight enough to catch her attention and pull her back to face him.
         “I don’t want you leaving your damn door open anymore.” he hisses at her in her face. “It’s for your safety not mine.”
         “I can take care of myself. I have been for years since I moved out at eighteen. I don’t need you keeping watch over me.” she ground out angrily now as she glared at him.
         “Yeah? And what were going to do with the spatula? Huh? Smack them with it?” he asked menacingly as he stepped even closer to her.
         “Element of surprise Rapp. My old man taught me that. Only thing good the old man taught me was how to fight to win.” she snapped at him and yanked her wrist out of his grip before turning away from him. “Besides what’s got your panties twisted? It can’t be the door being open. Did something happen at work?” she said over her shoulder as she walked back over to the stove.
         And suddenly the anger is swept away and he feels guilty for yelling at her. He’s confused on how she’s able to do that, just completely take away his stress and anger with a witty comment and a concerned question. He moves into the kitchen and leans back against the kitchen island so that he’s close to her but not too close, he still feels bad about yelling and he can tell from her posture that she’s still angry and defiant.
         “I’m sorry about yelling at you.” he says dejectedly and looks down at the floor as he crosses his arms over his chest. He can only see her bare feet pivot from his line of view but he doesn’t look up when he feels her eyes on him. Her bare feet move to stand in between his own feet and her hand comes up under his chin to tilt his head up so he’ll look at her. Her eyes are looking around his face with concern and her lips are relaxed as she watches him.
         “Hey I understand it. You’re a dick for it but I get it.” she says softly with a soft scoff that ends when her mouth pulls up slightly in a soft smile. Mitch huffs out a laugh and she grins widely.
         “How do you do that?” he asks softly in wonder and she tilts her head to the side as a mischievous glint sparkles in her eyes.
         “I can do many things Mitch. You have to be more specific.” she teases and he smirks down at her before nodding his head slightly.
         “How do you just take away the anger and frustration that I’m feeling away with only a few words?” he asks seriously. “No one else is able to do that.”
         “Because I know you Mitch.” she says like it’s obvious. “You don’t follow the rules, in fact you break every one that you can with everything that you do. Seems to be my type in men, rule breakers. But most importantly with as much tough love that you think you deserve you still need someone to look out for you and tell you that everything is gonna be ok.”
         Mitch stands there with her only a few inches away from him standing in between his open legs and he can feel his emotions swirling around like a whirlpool inside of him. He still felt the frustration from work going horribly wrong, he felt the anger that you still had your door open after he told you keep it close, but he also felt the yearning need to have you be the one to take care of him, and there was another emotion that was floating around inside of him that he had felt growing larger and large with each time that’s spent with her. One that he wasn’t too sure of yet but had an inkling to what it was.
         “So that’s your secret power huh? You know how to take care of the rule breakers?” he asked softly smirking at her and she scoffed as she rolled her eyes at him.
         “Eh, been doing it ever since I was five so yeah I’d say it’s my secret power. But you gotta keep it a secret. Only you can know about it.” she said secretively and he grinned playing along with her.
         “I won’t tell anyone I promise.” he said softly and she moved closer to him pressing her hand to his stomach on the left side. She gasped when her hand pressed into his body and she pulled away quickly looking down at her hand. He looked down as well to see what had made her pull back and she saw that her hand was stained red.
         “Mitch you’re bleeding!” she said in shock as her eyebrows pulled down into worried furrow.
         “It’s okay, I think my stitches reopened.” he said nonchalantly and watched as her head jerked back to gaze up at him with a narrowed gaze.
         “You have stitches?! What the fuck Mitch? Why do you have stitches? Don’t answer that just stay here, don't move.” she said hurriedly as she rushed from the kitchen. He smiled softly shaking his head as he heard her in the bathroom mostly like getting her first aid kit.
         When she came back into the room she was in fact holding the first aid kit and looking at him worriedly. He nodded his head at her as she set the first aid kit on the kitchen island next to where he was leaning before opening it. “It’s been a while since I’ve done stitches.” she said suddenly when she pulled back and looked up at him.
         “That’s okay I can do them myself if you’re not comfortable with them.” he reassured her. He watched as she blinked up at him silently and he waited for the questions to flow from her lips but they never came. She just looked at him perplexed with her eyebrows furrowed adorably before she shook her head and began pulling his shirt up so that she could look at the wound. He helped her and gripped the hem of the shirt and easily pulled it over his head.
         He smirked when he saw her eyes widen as she stared at his naked chest for a moment before blinking rapidly and began to reach out for the taped bandage over his stitches. “You know if you wanted to see me half naked all you had to do was ask, gorgeous.” he teased as she leaned closer to him to the point that there were only a few inches of space between the two of them. A smirk slipped over her lips as she shook her head.
         “I wouldn’t even have to ask. You already got half naked for me with just me lifting your shirt up.” she sassed back to him before grimacing down at his wound that was bloody under the bandage. “Jesus Mitch did you lose a knife fight?”
         “It’s amazing you have all the sass in that body.” he teased as he looked down at his stitches and poked it a little to see where the stitches had popped. “And yeah I might’ve lost a knife fight. But it’s not bad, only two or three ripped.” he said softly. She hissed and scrunched up her nose as she began to pat the wound clean with a wet piece of gauze.
         “Why the fuck were you in a knife fight?” she asked confused and worried.
         “Work trip gone bad. And how do you know how to do stitches?” he responded and questioned all within the same breath.
         “The old man was a boxer while I was growing up. Mom left because he was a nasty drunk and she didn’t want to be a mom anymore. I was all he had left to take care of him after his fights.” She said with a shrug of her shoulders.
         “Did he win?” Mitch asked softly as he learned new information about her. He understood now why she was so independent and didn’t ask for much help from anyone.
         “The only thing he was good at was fighting. He sucked at everything else.” She said with a scoff before leaning closer to his wound. “Now shut up so I can focus on this. You’re distracting enough as it is.” She snipped out at him.
         He grinned as he watched her focus on her task and her eyes watched with such concern. She applied firm pressure to the edge of the stitches that had ripped and he hissed softly but let her do it.
         “Sorry, sorry.” she said quickly before pulling the gauze away. “Do you often need stitches after work?” she asked quietly and he looked up at her and felt his heart thud in his chest. She was worried about him and didn’t want to ask the wrong questions it seemed like.
         “Not normally no. This time one of my coworkers fucked up and I got hurt.” he said softly as she began to pat the wound dry with dry gauze. She furrowed her eyebrows again and nodded her head again.
         “Did you at least rip your coworker a new asshole for fucking up?” she asked softly as she began to thread a needle to begin the few stitches she would have to replace. He grinned down at her and watched as she pulled out the antibacterial wash and began sterilizing the needle and the wound area.
         “Yeah by me and our superior.” He said with a soft chuckle.
         “Good.” She said nodding her head distractedly as she began her work. He hissed only once when she began the stitches and stayed as still as possible to ease her work. When she was done she quickly tied off the stitches and bandaged his wound again for him before looking up at him. “It’ll probably scar, like I said it’s been a while for me.”
         Mitch felt his heart thud in his chest again as he looked down at her, that feeling that had been growing ever since he started spending time with her was close to completely encompassing him as he continued to stare down at her. And he knew the feeling but was still too afraid to put a name to it. He had felt it before and it had only brought him heartbreak and he wasn’t ready for that to happen again. Her eyes still looked worriedly at him and he felt a desire to keep her close bloom in his chest.
         He cupped the side of her face and pulled her closer to him as he leaned down. Their lips pressed together and he groaned softly at the feeling. Kissing her was something that he hoped to never get tired of. Her lips were full and soft under his own, and at the first touch of them fire burst inside him scorching his insides with desire and arousal for her. She hummed softly against his lips and stepped closer, her hand came up to rest against his peck and she curled her fingers against it raking his skin with her nails.
         When they pulled away they were breathing heavily and sharing the air that barely had room to move between the two of them. He slid his nose against hers and smiled softly at her huff of breath that fell on his lips.
         “Finish up dinner 5H then we can get to the movie I brought home with me.” he whispered to her. She nodded and pressed a quick peck to his mouth again before turning back to the stove.
---
         They were sprawled out on the couch together now with the movie he had found on his assignment playing on the tv screen. He was sitting with his back pressed against the armrest with one leg laying on the couch while the other one sat normally with his foot on the floor. She was snuggled up against him in between his legs with her back pressed lightly to his chest. His arm came down from the back of the couch to sling around her lower stomach and pulled her closer into his chest.
         “I’m not fragile you can lean against me.” he whispered into her ear and felt her shiver against him.
         “I don’t want your stitches to rip again.” she said softly as she shook her head trying to pull away. His other arm came up and wrapped across her chest at the level of her shoulders and pulled her back completely.
         “They won’t if you stop moving. But if they do you’ll get more practice with them.” he teased her and she instantly stopped moving. He smirked and rested the side of his head against her hair and sighed softly.
         The movie is still playing when he feels her rest her head back against his shoulder and rolls it so she can look up at him as he continues to watch the movie. He can feel her eyes darting around his face and he tries to ignore the urge to look down at her. “Not very interested in the movie?” he asks softly before turning his head to look down. She grins and shakes her head before shrugging her shoulders.
         “You’re more interesting.” she teased and he scoffed softly at her words. He darts his eyes down to see her still looking at him and he quickly swoops down to kiss her deeply. She hums before she turns slightly to be more comfortable in the kiss. Her hands come up to cup his neck, her fingers pressing against his jaw bone as his arms are still wrapped around her. Tilting his head he deepens the kiss and that heat that’s becoming familiar is blooming in his chest and lower stomach again.
         Her lips open against his and her tongue swipes against his bottom lip and he groans softly. He opens up for her and their tongues collide hotly with each other. When his tongue slides into her open mouth she sucks in a breath through her nose and mewls softly against him. One of her hands slides down his neck to rest over his pec where his heart is thudding heavily in his chest.
         “I have to be up for work early tomorrow.” he groans out softly and she pulls away shaking her head quickly.
         “Damn you Rapp.” she hisses softly against his lips and he huffs in agreeance.
         “I’m sorry, I know. But after tomorrow’s meeting I should be free for a while.” he tries to compromise but she’s pulling away huffing. She’s moving further away and all he wants to do is drag her back into his arms so he can continue kissing her and possibly leading to more.
         “You’re just going to continue being a tease aren’t you?” she sasses to him and he grins softly and ducks his head to hide it from her. “You know what? That’s your new name from now on. It’s no longer Mitch Rapp, it’s tease.” she gripes out before standing from the couch and grabbing the remote, turning off the movie and tv easily. “C’mon tease I’ll walk you to the door.” she says softly and he sighs quietly before he stands from the couch.
         He moves behind her and grabs his bag from the floor and follows her to the door where she begins to reach for the door handle. But he easily stops her by grabbing her hips and spinning her to press her back against the door. He presses his body against hers and she gasps when she feels how affected he was to their little make out session. His one hand comes up and cups her jaw tilting her head up to him and his mouth descends on her kissing her deeply and passionately. He stays there pressed tightly up against her and kisses the breath from her lungs. Her hands rest gently against his hips and her fingers hook into the belt loops there tugging him closer to keep him there.
         When he pulls away they’re both panting and he rests his forehead against hers. Nuzzling his nose against hers he smiles when she grins at him with her eyes still closed. Before she can call him a tease again he speaks to her.
         “I might be a tease now but I’ll make up for it I promise. And I keep my promises.” he says in a low promising tone and feels her shiver against him deliciously.
         “You better.” she quips out and he grins before taking a step back letting her turn and open the door for him. He moves to step out of her apartment but turns back quickly and kisses her again on the lips. Once he gets one last passionate kiss he leaves and begins walking towards his door. “See ya later tease.” she calls out and he grins before looking over his shoulder at her.
         “Sweet dreams 5H.” he says and she grins before closing her door and locking it.
Tw soft feelings 🤢
I'm feeling sad so like... Making this for good feelings.
I made a couple chatrooms as Kenma, and I've been having a lot of fun with it, I love how kinda close we've all gotten. There's a few certain people that I'm having some soft feelings for and I hate you guys for making me feel them. 🤮
Idk how you guys felt but I was kind of intimidated to talk to you all. But like... Making that has allowed me to connect with everyone, when before I was kinda by myself and just... There. Existing, hoping things would go well, and intimidated by these bigger accounts, assuming no one would really like me.
So I guess I wanna thank some people or something cause I'm stuck on feeling soft and I wanna be a robot again.
@gods-favorite-angel : I wanna thank you first. Because of you, I stayed with Kenma and was able to talk to and get to know you all. If you hadn't reached out and started talking talking me in the first place, I'd have been done with Kenma as an anon, and just gone on my merry? way, just liking and reblogging fics instead of being an active part of a fandom and characters. You're such a sweet person, and a huge part of why we were all able to meet in the first place. All you snots would be lost without me 😤 and you need to stop questioning whether we like you or not, cause we do. >:( Ho.
@managersol : Thank you for being such a crazy, simpy being. I love that you get so excited over everything, and you give me someone to lovingly make fun of on the near-daily because of your Osamu simping ways. You also basically created the discord which I really could have just never done lol.
@nishinoya-yuu-rolling-thunder / mod x : You're such a sweet girl and I wanna thank you for talking to me when I'm down. You really helped out my mental state by just being there and easing me from my dark mood. I almost deleted the server 😒 but you made me feel better about everything and gave me a sense of calm. Also cuddling you is so sweet 😩
@daddysamu + staff : I have so much fun trolling your shit. Stealing onigiri and making N mad gives me life 😌 Y'all also make Samu such a sweetheart it was hard to not want to get to know you guys, and you kinda got me started on wanting to interact with the anons more as myself and not uh... an anon lol.
@daddykentaro / Turtle : I love you guys, you're so sweet to talk to and made me such a simp for you both. I already liked Kenta, but damn. And to find an anon/mod crush/person to simp for was kind of funny. Thanks for talking to and vibing with me. You're amazing and seeing you around my dash makes me 🥰
@dxddytetsu : We don't talk all that often, but thank you for being a good sport and interacting with Kenma much like how imagine they would 😂 His reactions to Kenma's tsundere shit make me laugh.
@sunatheerintaro / Menace: you two scare me but in a good way. Like I'm so intimidated? But also look up to you in a way?? And idk what to do around around half the time. But I like watching you be sassy and playful. You're funny I guess and I'm glad you're part of the squad.
@official-lev-haiba : I really dig watching you interact on discord and in the gc. You're super funny and nice, and have given us all a huge amount of laughs. I know I can always peek in on what you're saying and end up cackling.
@officialakinori : Your reblogs and complaints crack me up. We only kind of recently started interacting more, but I was always smiling and trying to think of ways to get you to say something in the gc. You always delivered, and gave me a good amount of laughs. Switch ass.
@official-kunimiakira : Rosie, you're so sweet and I love you being in the discord. I didn't really interact with you as kunimi, but God you're so funny 😂 You're such a q t pie and I'm glad yo have met and gotten the chance to talk to you.
@bodaddybokuto : Your reblogs and claims of slander crack me up. Because despite you THINKING it's slander, it really isn't 💀 Anyway, I'm glad you're able to relax a little more and get your crazy ass asks under control. I could never and would prob mass delete, so I applaud the shit outta you. You're a strong mfer.
@thexyakuxmorisuke : We don't talk a whole lot, but you always seem to be there when someone is venting or feeling kinda bad about stuff. From what I've seen from you/interacted, you're really sweet and kind. Thank you for being the person to help out and talk through things. Your little help flows are noticed and I feel myself "aww"ing every time.
I appreciate you guys for giving this chat a chance, and for talking to me and being my friends. Not sure what y'all see in me sometimes, but whatever it is, thank you for seeing it.
-
@daddyissei : I adore the shit out of you for being the first character anon. You've given everyone such joy, and made it possible to create the friendships I have with these other character anons. None of us would be here, or made possible, if it wasn't for you. 😩 You're amazing and I appreciate the shit out of you, even if we don't really talk.
Okay, soft feelings not over. Stop looking and go on your way. I'm a robot again.
Perfect, or Not
[LWA, Diakko, cooking, trying new things, Diana needs a break from all the expectations, cute fluff!, domestic cute girlfriends, STAY AT HOME]
Diana and Akko navigate perceptions, vulnerability and... a cooking activity?
---
Diana once told her that what made her different from everyone else at Luna Nova was that Akko never thought she was perfect.
“Is that a good thing or a bad thing?” Akko had asked, caught off guard by the admission.
“A good thing.”
She didn’t fully understand it back then—she was much, much younger—but as the years flew by and led to their eventual romantic involvement, Akko began to get it. When it came to Diana, it seemed as though the whole world had one form of expectation from her or another: model student, soon-to-be heir of magic aristocracy, and later on a well-respected front-runner in the educational career she had chosen.
This was mostly due to the fact that Diana Cavendish rarely made mistakes. Seriously. Ever. Her reputation was held in such regard that even as a student, the instructors at Luna Nova made exceptions based on her opinions (which may have infuriated a younger Akko who had no idea they would end up dating). But even back then, she could see it bearing down on Diana’s shoulders like rocks piling up; and how hard it was becoming for the young Cavendish to keep it balanced lest it all come falling down.
Within their first year of dating, the brunette came to a realization: Diana never failed because she never did anything she might not be good at. She figured it out during a fishing trip of all times! Diana had tucked herself behind a book and under the shade of her wide-brimmed (and very stylish) hat while Akko wrestled with what felt the Master of the Swamp of that darned lake.
“We went all the way out here to fish! Won’t you even try?”
“You seem to have it covered. Fishing isn’t exactly within my area of expertise.”
“And so?”
Diana looked up at her and blinked in confusion, as though the concept of doing anything just for the heck of it was completely foreign to her. “I… well.”
They had to cast the rod seven times before Diana even got so much as a nibble, but fishes be damned—Akko didn’t give up on her that afternoon.
Biking was another activity which Diana had obstinately refused to even consider doing, she fondly recalled. Now this sucked for Akko—it really did—because biking around a park dusted with autumn leaves was kind of on her ‘couple bucket list’, except the other half of said couple didn’t even want to get on the bike.
“We have brooms. This is completely unnecessary.”
“It doesn’t have to be necessary,” Akko took her hand and practically dragged her towards the bicycle. “Don’t you remember what it was like for me to learn flying? Come on, try it for me!”
She’d never forget the how visibly difficult it was for Diana to say this, and that it hurt her to see how the blonde seemed to be expecting some form of judgment. “I… don’t know how.”
Akko laced their fingers together and made sure Diana was looking into her eyes when she said,
“That’s okay.”
Diana seemed surprised.
“I’ll teach you?”
--
This year, Akko’s birthday fell on a lovely, overcast Saturday. There were no dinners or parties to be held on account of a recent outbreak, which left her in the company of Diana with whom she now shared an apartment. It was more than enough.
What she wasn’t expecting, however, was for her girlfriend tap on her shoulder, looking a little excited and reluctant at the same time, asking: “Could you help me bake a cake?”
Akko’s eyebrows shot up, and she blinked away from her video game. “Oh. Without… magic?”
Diana nodded, and Akko lowered her line of sight towards the paper bag the blonde witch was carrying in her arm. Ingredients?
Akko dropped her game—her island and its denizens could wait.
“Please tell me you wore a mask when you went out to buy those!”
“Of course.”
--
Their first obstacle for the afternoon’s baking session was cracking the eggs.
“By Jennifer, I’ll always be amazed at how eggshells are both so fragile yet strong.” Diana accidentally crushed another egg, and braced herself for a witty remark form Akko, but none came.
“That’s okay,” Akko beamed, handing her another egg. “One more time!”
Encouraged, Diana picked up another egg and decided to just smack the damned thing along the rim of the mixing bowl. Oh. To her pleasant surprise, it cracked open obediently. “Right along the prime meridian.”
“P—Prime meridian!” Akko chortled, “mou, Diana, you’ve made the egg into a little Earth!”
Diana wanted to roll her eyes in annoyance but found herself smiling instead—Akko could get away with murder weilding a laugh as warm as that.
“Come on,” Akko stole a chance with a kiss to her cheek, “we’ll make a chef outta you yet. Time to get to mixing!”
The brunette had a good spot of fun during the first five minutes watching the taller witch mix. But Diana started grumbling about how her arm was sore, and so it was Akko’s turn to, to quote her girlfriend, “toil.”
“Someone’s comfortable,” Akko teased, leaning back when Diana decided rest her chin on the opposite shoulder of her mixing arm.
“I’m simply resting,” the blonde replied with a rare dash of jesting. She brought up her arms to circle Akko’s waist, squeezing a little bit while she planting a small kiss on the brunette’s shoulder. “Thank you for agreeing to teach me.”
“And what a teacher you’ve picked!” Akko giggled. “The last time I baked a cake, well… you were the one who brought Lotte to the clinic for a stomachache.”
Diana chuckled, and Akko couldn’t help but love the way she could feel the sound of it through her back pressed against Diana’s chest. “You know, I…”
“Mhm?”
“I always liked you teaching me new things.”
“After making beg all those times? You liked it after all?” Akko stuck her tongue out “Betrayal!”
“Oh, come on.” Diana nudged the side of Akko’s head. “It’s just… I always remember how I lost my magic when I was younger.”
Akko kept quiet, bring her pace of mixing to a slow, smooth motion.
“The kind of expectations my family had, and how hard it was to learn everything. Everyday. On my own. I remember how I couldn’t even cast simple spells, and how I told myself I’d never feel that… inept anymore. Not at school. Not at work.”
“But now, Diana, I’d say you’re pretty amazing.”
"That’s... Thank you.”
“But you don’t have to be,” Akko reassured.
“I… just never thought that. Not until recently. It felt right to be perfect—fit everyone’s preconceptions.”
“I don’t think you need to be perfect.”
Akko felt Diana’s arms wrap themselves around her a little tighter, felt her firsts clench with the way the cloth of her shirt balled up in them a little. The blonde witch relaxed, and then nuzzled against Akko’s shoulder.
“And I love you for that. Among many other things.”
Akko turned her head to kiss Diana’s temple. “Oh! Other things like what?”
“Must you always ruin these cheesy moments,” Diana rolled her eyes, but smiled anyway.
Akko laughed, dropping the mixing spoon to turn around in Diana’s embrace and drape her arms around her neck. “Indeed, I must! But for the record, I’m sure Hannah and Barbara don’t think so too, you know?”
Diana wiped a spatter of chocolate mix off Akko’s cheek with her thumb and licking it off on instinct.
“I love you.” Akko smiled, “even if you can’t bake to save your life.” She slowly brought a hand to cup Diana’s cheek and she tilted her head, inching forward for a soft, warm kiss that tasted like chocolate.
She really couldn’t bake. But somehow, Diana thought that was just fine.
---
An hour later, they found themselves trapped in an apartment that smelled like rich—yet slightly burnt—chocolate cake.
Diana looked a little lost and adorably sheepish, holding up a tray with a cake shaped like a… a rhombus? The frosting was uneven, although the birthday message was written in perfect handwriting (which was no small feat for a beginner!). Her sleeves were rolled haphazardly, and the apron looked hopelessly awkward on her, but by Jennifer—
(“Happy birthday,” she lifted the tray up as if to say ‘ta-da!’
Akko smiled so wide her cheeks hurt.)
—she looked absolutely perfect.
Part Two: Friends
[!TRIGGER WARNING!: This installment contains unprotected sex, historical inaccuracies and allusions to previous abuse. Stay safe!]
If he had so glibly dubbed Linton perishing of pneumonia as bad business, he dreaded to come up with a term for whatever Irene had gone through. Christ, spousal discipline. A victim of the so-called 'gentlemen' that brought their wives to heel with the rod, coverture at its goddamn finest. It had always made Arthur's chest tight, made him see red, had him raring to give them a taste of their own medicine despite Dutch's constant preaching about an eye for an eye only makes the world blind.
Womenfolk, for all Arthur's troubles with one in particular, deserved to be seen and heard as much as anyone else. Shit, from a biblical standpoint they were supposed to be cherished, protected, defended if they needed it. Arthur was not a pious man by any stretch; the blood on his hands had him thoroughly convinced of his prime spot in Hell come Judgement Day. But if he needed to resort to thumping the good book to get his point across, he damn well would. Fine gentlemen may not fear overmuch the wrath of one Arthur Morgan, yet they certainly feared for the salvation of their wretched, mealy little souls.
Irene's brown eyes were dark and surprisingly dry as she watched him watch her, the tales she told painting the late Mr. Carson as no man, but a fiend in man's clothing.
Arthur felt a lump form in his throat when she spoke of selling off her damn hair just so she could get free of that bastard. It was clear that after what she had suffered, nearly dying on the side of a mountain was a veritable paradise. She'd had to learn everything the hard way, taking all that she had read about and painstakingly putting it into practice. That she was still alive was a goddamn miracle. A miracle that Arthur didn't feel like testing the charity of. Providence had kept her safe thus far, but just how damn long did she expect that to hold?
What if someone else had found her in that trap? What if he hadn't been hunting that bear? Hell, what if one of those boys from Lemoyne had come across her bathing today? Arthur gritted his teeth. Granted, she wasn't defenseless, not by a long shot, but lone wolves didn't tend to last out in the wilds. It had been sheer coincidence that nothing far worse had happened.
"Come back to camp with me." He interrupted her to offer, his voice rough. "I...me an' the gang, we can keep you safe there. You ain't gotta' live like this anymore, that feller's dead. He can't come to drag you back to that...misery."
She shook her head, her smile sad. "I've been on my own for too long, Arthur. I'm used to it."
"Please." He begged. "I don't...if...look, I...I don't want you to…" he trailed off, frustrated by his inability to articulate the confusing emotions roiling in his chest. "Hell, I dunno'." He muttered, shoving the toe of his boot into the dirt. "Scared for you, I guess."
"I've made it this far, haven't I?"
"What if it wasn't me?" He retorted. "What if every time, it was-"
"It was you, though." Irene interjected softly. "I won't deny that our paths crossing again and again seems like fate, or divine intervention."
Arthur huffed out a breath. "I s'pose, but-"
"You needed someone to listen, and I needed someone to show me kindness."
"Well sure, but-"
"If you had bedded me in Valentine, would that have satisfied your curiosity?" Irene inquired primly. "Nipped your fascination in the bud?"
"Shit, no." Arthur finally managed to get a word in edgewise, shaking his head. "I...you seemed real sweet. Pretty. Sad, in a secret way. I wanted...but then you said all those things and I...I ain't never met a woman that seemed to see me like how you did, Miss Irene. Most folks just see what they can get outta' me."
"I always saw you, Arthur. From the first time we met on the side of that mountain." Irene told him, her voice gone soft once more. "I saw your smile, and your beautiful eyes, and the way you were willing to help. It made me want to help you too."
"M-My--? Shucks, ma'am, I ain't...I mean my eyes is...uh." Arthur yanked at the collar of his shirt. Despite it being unbuttoned, he suddenly felt as though it was too tight. "Well, you're one to talk about beautiful eyes!" He blustered, feeling his gut twist when she looked surprised of all things. "What, ain't anyone ever said somethin' nice to you before? You got nice eyes! And a good heart! Smart words, too, you're intelligent! Shit--I mean, shoot, sorry, ain't tryin' to swear in front of you." He rushed to apologize, worrying at the brim of his hat. "I'm just off-balance is all, ma'am, forgive me."
She waved off his apology, laughing. "Don't be so uptight, Arthur! It's still me."
"But it ain't, that's the thing. I…" he paused yet again, fumbling in his satchel for his journal. "I-I haven't stopped thinkin' of you, Miss Irene. What I'd say if I ever ran into you again." Opening the book to the first sketch of her, he turned it around so she could see. "I never came up with anythin', though. Aside from 'thank you'."
Instead of staying where she was, she approached and sat down alongside him. Those fingers, just as reverential as the first time 'Frank' had seen his sketches, ran down the lines of her face on the page.
They weren't perfect. His memory of her had been blurry with drink and many of his sketches had been scribbled out or erased into gray smudges in frustration. "They're beautiful." She whispered.
"No, you're beautiful." Arthur murmured before he could think better of it. "Nothin' that I could make would ever do you justice, Miss Irene."
She was flushed already from the fire, her hair slowly drying into a wild mess of sun-streaked curls that he longed to run his fingers through. "I wouldn't say that." She tried to deflect his words, smiling shyly down at her hands.
She had been married. Her acting like what he was doing was something new had Arthur damn near distressed. He cupped her chin with his hand, keeping his touch as light as he could bear while he tipped her face up to look at him. "I would."
"You would?" Her tongue darted out to soothe her dry lips, stirring a half-forgotten memory in his mind of her making some sound into his mouth as he kissed her.
"I sure would." He drawled, tilting his head and lowering his mouth to hers. The little whimper that came out of her settled in his abdomen. Was this a bad idea? Probably. "Take the shirt off."
"You told me to put it on!"
"And now, I'm askin' you to take it off." Arthur growled, pressing his mouth against the shell of her ear and breathing, "please."
Irene shivered all over, clinging to his hands like she was trying to keep her composure. Lord knew Arthur's own composure had never been particularly ironclad. She finally released him, her fingers trembling when she reached for the hem of the shirt.
"Easy girl, only if you want to." Arthur pressed a kiss to her cheek, "only if you're willin'. I ain't so brash to believe that you bein' alright with this one time before means that you'd be okay with it now."
"You…" Irene hesitated. "I've never been allowed to say no, Arthur."
Oh, Jesus, that hurt. "Well now you can. Any time. Right now, in the middle, whenever." He forced the words out past his muted, secondhand horror. "I'll stop. I'm not...this ain't about somebody gettin' hurt, okay? This is...I'm tryin' to make you feel good. That's all I want."
Irene squinted up at him, her disbelief evident. "So...it can be good? That's not just something they put in the books so women don't decide to never get bedded?"
Oh Jesus. "Oh, Jesus." Arthur scrubbed helplessly over his stubble with one hand, trying to formulate a response that wouldn't come off as terrifying or lecherous. "So, you...b-but you was married." He floundered.
"Yes?"
"He ain't...I mean you never-?"
"I have never been kissed like you kissed me before, if that answers your question."
"Well, yes and no. I-I reckon yes." Arthur stammered. "Alright, let me...I'll pitch my tent and we'll have a lie down and I'll...I-I guess I'll do my damnedest."
Jesus, he needed a minute. Just a momentary reprieve while he fumbled to unlash the canvas from Chase's back. Christ, his mind was going like Hell's wheels. She had never known pleasure from lying with a man. Never. To the point where she thought it was fabricated. One more nail in that devil's coffin, he supposed. Lord, Arthur prayed he was up for this.
She wanted to help him set up the tent and Arthur had to laugh, his nerves easing a bit at the petulant way she demanded to hold the guylines taut for him. "It's ungentlemanly for me to expect you to help out with stuff like this," he tried to explain.
"If you start pulling some nonsense about how I'm a delicate flower, you will regret it." Irene informed him firmly. "I haven't gotten this far to be treated like glass, Mister Arthur."
"Well, you certainly wasn't protestin' that treatment in Valentine." He chuckled, watching her face go bright red.
"I-I was caught off-guard, that's all! Fell back into old habits!"
"Oh shoah." He shrugged, still grinning. Thunder rumbled in the distance and he quickly opened up the tent flap with a broad, sweeping bow. "After you, ma'am."
She smiled at him and Arthur was hard-pressed to think of a prettier sight than that, the woman sidling past him to enter the tent after she had gathered up her still-damp things.
Arthur Morgan did not consider himself a good man. He did not consider himself a particularly smart man either. But every once in a while even his life could pan out with gratifying and interesting results. Such as an attractive woman who had been masquerading as an attractive man ending up in his tent, waiting on him to show her the...primitive ecstasies of the flesh.
He took his time before joining her however, choosing instead to smoke a cigarette and scan the perimeter of the grove, an idle hand on his revolver.
He definitely wasn't stalling. Definitely wasn't trying to compose himself before he got out of pocket with her. But Jesus, what he would love to do if she was willing!
The sunlight began to wane as the clouds rolled in and Arthur stubbed out his cigarette, carefully saving the remainder for later. No telling when he'd get his hands on a fresh pack, and the last chew he'd indulged in had been so strong it nearly burned a hole in his lower lip. Better to stick to the sticks.
He entered the tent to find Irene sitting cross-legged on her bedroll, still in his shirt (and Lord, that was a whole other article that he needed to address about himself), and she looked up at him expectantly as he ducked his head so he didn't bump the side of the tent. "Was just makin' sure everythin' is safe, Miss Irene." He explained, tying the tent flaps together. Arthur then began the process of unbuckling his holster belt, carefully hanging it from the support by the door. He had only stayed alive this long because Hosea had taught him to always have a revolver within reach. "You nervous?" He asked conversationally while he dropped his hat by the door.
"Perhaps a bit." Irene replied, her truthful words giving him pause. "I am optimistic, however."
"I ain't gonna' hurt you, but you need to be honest with me, okay? Won't hurt my feelin's none if you tell me you don't like somethin'." Arthur assured her, "I can adapt."
"Thank you, Arthur."
Oh Jesus, there it was again. Like a hot brick in his stomach, an intoxicating combination of wariness and arousal. He knelt beside her, tangling his fingers greedily through her short, thick curls. He could feel her trembling slightly, which was...sobering. "Ain't gonna' hurt you." He soothed, making a shushing noise. "Ain't gonna' hurt you. You're okay."
Wide brown eyes stared up at him and Irene nodded slowly.
"You trust me, Miss Irene?" Arthur asked quietly.
Another nod.
"Good." Arthur cupped her face and crushed their mouths together without further ceremony. She gasped into his mouth, her hands finding purchase on his chest where she proceeded to cling to him. He only vaguely remembered how she had reacted to his kiss before, her body threatening to collapse against his own in that cramped little garret that the Saints Hotel considered a rentable room.
"Arthur," she breathed shakily, kissing him at an almost fevered speed. "Is this really how it's supposed to be?"
"Is it good?"
"Oh yes, so good, I-"
"That's the important part sorted, then. Rest'll take care of itself." Arthur nibbled on her lower lip, his teeth gentle in case she needed to pull away. If anything though, she pressed closer. He was pleasantly surprised when she timidly slipped him her tongue, illustrating his enthusiastic approval by welcoming it with his own. "Can I touch you?" He gasped against her lips, his forehead resting on her own. They were fully in each other's space now, but he knew that could change in an instant.
"Please, please." Irene begged, clutching his hands.
"Can I take off the shirt? Can I see you?" was his next question, loaded as it was.
"I…" Irene paused. "I don't know if...you'd want to, honestly."
"Oh believe me, I want." Arthur insisted. "If you want, I want."
"Just like that?"
"Don't need to be any more complicated than that, ma'am." Arthur kept his hands still. "Just a little heavy pettin' even, if that's all you're lookin' for. But I can make you feel real good."
"Heavy petting?" Her brow furrowed. "I'm...unfamiliar, Mister Arthur."
"Yeah, y'know, heavy pettin'. You kinda' just...I mean you uh. Touch. A lot. Usually." He struggled to explain, again finding himself walking the line of trying not to scare her while still giving her the information she sought. "Demonstration? I ain't so good at this." He finally suggested ruefully.
Irene nodded and Arthur drew his index fingers over her collarbone, framing it briefly before he slipped further down. Slowly, so as not to frighten her, he cupped her breasts through the undershirt, letting their weight rest in his palms.
He had to clear his throat before he spoke next. "Okay?" Irene nodded, her expression almost laughably serious. "I'm gonna' move my thumbs now. Just gentle, no pinchin'." Arthur informed her. "You let me know if that's okay."
"Mmhm." She inhaled sharply the second he grazed over her nipples, a little hiccup leaving her. Arthur had never encountered that particular reaction and he lingered in the same spot, swiping his thumbs back and forth across the soft mounds of her breasts. He felt her body begin to react, her nipples waking underneath his touch.
"Okay?" He rasped, his throat dry all of a sudden. Irene looked...drowsy, almost, the woman biting her lower lip and just watching his hands move.
"Feels good." She whispered. "I...I think I like it?"
"You ain't sure yet? Want me to stop?"
Arthur barely got the question out before she said, "no!", flushing immediately afterwards. "I-I mean no, please...please keep going?" She requested, not meeting his eyes.
He chuckled, "okay then. Just relax. I've got you, Miss Irene." Her hands fumbled for purchase on his suspenders and Arthur was delighted when she shoved them off over his shoulders, the woman whimpering as he removed his hands from her briefly to slip out of the loops. "Shh, I'm right here." Arthur murmured, returning to his previous ministrations.
"I don't know what to do." Irene breathed, resting her forehead on his shoulder. "What do I do, Arthur? Can't j-just--" her voice hitched, fingers digging into his upper arms as he continued to gently stroke her. "Sit here, not doing anything."
"Lemme' take care of you for a l'il bit, okay?" The older man offered softly. At his insistence, she laid back, propping herself up on her elbows and then gifting him a tender little cry when he dipped his head to mouth and tease at one of her nipples through the shirt's thin fabric.
Rain began to patter on the tent's canvas roofing, dulling the sounds of the surrounding woodlands. It was like a curtain being drawn, shielding Arthur from the outside and narrowing his world down to nothing but the woman currently arching her entire body up in search of his mouth. Irene reached for him blindly, her hands so delicate in his own when he laced their fingers together and pressed his lips back to her breast through the shirt's material.
She writhed beneath him, little noises of desperation issuing from her without much preamble. It was as if she was starved for touch. In a way, Arthur supposed dimly, they both were. Her guarding her secret, trying her hardest to be cautious and he keeping his own secrets, trying to work around the blatant duality of his existence.
We're thieves in a world that don't want us no more.
But here, here, in this sheltered glade, the two of them might find a moment of reprieve. A haven.
Irene grasped at the hem of the shirt, going to tug it over her head and immediately getting stuck because she hadn't unbuttoned it first. The woman thrashed, nearly elbowing Arthur in the face, and he couldn't help the way his laughter exploded out of him. "Whoa there! Easy, hold on." He said, lending her a hand to unbutton the shirt from the inside so she could get it over her head safely.
She was breathless from giggling by the time they managed to free her from the shirt's clutches, and Arthur had to kiss her again. Tentatively her hands traveled up the back of his neck and found their way to his shaggy hair. She tugged, making him rumble into her mouth. "You wanted to see me?" Irene asked shyly, and Arthur realized she was trying to display some sort of willingness.
"If it's alright, ma'am, I would." He murmured, keeping his eyes on hers. She nodded and Arthur gave her a gentle peck on the lips before drawing back, settling onto his knees so he could really take in the sight.
Outside he had done his best not to ogle. Which had been incredibly difficult. But Arthur Morgan wasn't some skin-hungry yearling, and he could usually determine when to avert his eyes.
In the twilight of the tent she was a damn vision. He reached out and cupped the back of her calf, palming the curve of the muscle that lurked beneath the skin when he moved her leg to open her up just a bit. She was strong, forged of stubborn steel. His eyes traveled up, lingering on the thatch of dark curls at the apex of her thighs. Further up to her breasts, pebbled with gooseflesh and no doubt still feeling the echoes of his mouth. Her collarbone had been so delicate under his hands, like some fanciful artisan’s filigree. That throat, Lord, to tarry there and cover her skin with reminders of him would be heaven-! His eyes shifted to her freckled shoulders, the area littered with old scars. Arthur had the sneaking suspicion that her back would have borne the brunt of what she had gone through.
He wished he could stop time itself and sketch her just like this.
"You're beautiful." He mumbled, only half-aware that he was even speaking. Irene squirmed, covering her face, but Arthur gently caught one of her hands and tugged it away. "Irene, you're beautiful." He repeated, a little louder.
"You...you don't mean that, Arthur." She replied weakly.
"Oh yes I do, ma'am." He insisted, her pulse thundering against his lips when he kissed the inside of her wrist. "Can I…may I?"
Irene nodded rapidly, her head falling back when Arthur spread her legs. He abruptly felt like a starving man at a banquet table. Her cunt was flushed pink, honest, glistening with the slick of her arousal. Her thighs trembled against his forearms.
Jesus.
Arthur rubbed a palm across his face, trying to judge whether his stubble might be a bit too aggressive for the obviously sensitive area. "Hey, I…I'm gonna' try somethin', okay? You let me know if…" he trailed off when he looked up and saw her with her arm over her eyes, hiding from him again. Her cheeks were ruddy, whether from embarrassment or excitement he was uncertain. "Irene? Look at me." He implored, reaching out to tip her chin down. "You're okay, it's okay."
She hesitantly put her arm down, biting her lip. "Nervous," was all she said.
"You want me to stop?" Arthur asked, hating the way she still looked surprised. "I will stop."
"No, I just...I'm not used to it being so…" Irene paused, clearly searching for the correct word. "Gentle."
Arthur groaned, "you're killin' me woman. Tell me if you ain't likin' what I'm doin'." He sank down between her legs, urging her up a little on the bedroll so he could lay on his belly. Jesus, he was lost. She was shaking under his touch, quivering just from his kisses on her inner thighs. Arthur continued to make soft noises in his throat, trying to keep her calm as he worked his way higher.
"A-Arthur?" Her voice broke, questioning. "Arthur, that's my-"
"Sure is." Arthur replied, already drunk on the clean, delicious scent of her. "I'm gonna' just...have a little taste."
He was slow, careful, like he was out stalking prey in the grasslands. Soft kisses that made their way relentlessly inward to his prize until finally, he parted her lower lips with his thumbs and lapped at the nectar that seeped forth. Irene flinched, obviously startled by his mouth on her, and her hands flew to his hair. Arthur waited for a beat, and then cautiously continued tonguing at her. "This--this cannot be proper, Mister Mor-gan--" Irene tried to reason, her voice gone reedy. "What if-"
"You just washed yourself, ma'am." Arthur drawled from between her thighs, rubbing his stubbled cheek against the inside of her leg teasingly. "Ain't nothin' else that concerns me if you're likin' it."
"I...oh, Lord, I can't think." Was her shaky response. "Wh-What are you doing to me, Arthur?"
"Showin' you how the worst outlaw this side of Saint Denis pleases a woman." He growled, the words hanging heated and sharp as a knife in the air between them before he resumed the sweet toil of eating her out.
She whined high, her fingers kneading at his scalp making his eyes roll shut in satisfaction. "Ar-thur, I--oh, Jesus, Arthur!" Irene sobbed when he lashed her clit with his tongue, rolling over it again and again.
"That good, hmm?" Arthur asked rhetorically, smiling against her when all he got was a moan in reply. She was so damn hot on his tongue, her core soaked with desire just from his heavy petting. That she had never experienced pleasure with a man was asinine, and Arthur privately vowed to give her everything that he could. Fastening his lips down over her clit, he swept his tongue back and forth in a tick-tocking motion that made her nails dig into his scalp.
That's not just something they put in the books so women don't decide to never get bedded?
"Gotta' admit," Arthur said, pulling away for a moment. "I'm a little curious about those books you been readin' if women are gettin' bedded in 'em." He continued with a teasing grin, full-blown laughing when Irene covered her face and shook her head, groaning. "What, no recommendations for me, Miss Irene? I enjoy a good piece of literature as much as the next feller!"
"You are cruelty incarnate, Arthur Morgan." She huffed.
Arthur relented, delving back into her with his fingers and tongue as an apology. He assumed from the half-stifled whimpers of don't stop that he was forgiven his transgressions. "You taste so damn good." He muttered, rumbling in approval when her hips rocked upwards and filled his greedy mouth with her cunt. "So damn good, wanna' get every last drop of this treat."
"A-Arthur--" she panted, "I feel...oh God, I…"
Her cunt pulsed under his touch and Arthur stroked his thumb gently over her slit as she came apart for him, every contraction making her slick folds twitch. "There we go," he soothed while she bucked and trembled. "There we go. Nice and easy, Miss Irene." He felt an odd sense of triumph, like when he managed to pick a troublesome stone out of the divot of Chase's frog. Androcles didn't have quite the same ring as Arthur, however.
Irene's chest was rising and falling rapidly, the woman still gasping for air. Arthur was unprepared for when she seized the front of his shirt and pressed her mouth to his own, whimpering even as she licked at his tongue. Arthur exhaled hard, wrapping his arms around her and kissing her back. Probably more roughly than he should have.
"You okay?" He panted, his nose brushing her own when he reluctantly pulled back an inch or so.
"Yes, God yes." She sighed, embracing him and giving him a dazed, oddly grateful smile. "Are you...I-I mean, would you like to…"  Irene tried to ask, that sweet blush making its way down to her shoulders.
Arthur cupped her breast again, rolling over the tight little peak with his thumb. "'Would I like to'...what?" He questioned playfully. "Use those pretty words of yours, Irene."
"I'm scared." She told him honestly, her breath hitching at his touches. "I...it's unbecoming to be so wanton-"
"Honest, Irene. The word you're lookin' for is honest. Ain't nothin' wrong with knowin' what you want." Arthur hurried to interject. "The only sin is helpin' yourself to what ain't freely given."
"Arthur…" she trailed off, staring at him like she had never seen him before.
He cleared his throat after a minute. "Yeah?"
"I...thank you, Arthur. I wouldn't have--thank you for saying that." Irene laughed, "suppose now you're the one saying what I need to hear."
"I s'pose so." Arthur agreed, grimacing when a flash of lightning lit up the tent. Thunder rolled after a time, the storm still a ways away. His hands moved to the buttons on his shirt, easing them open one by one. Irene had herself propped up on her elbows again, and Arthur wouldn't say her expression didn't do wonders for his ego. "You'll catch flies if you don't close your mouth, Miss Irene."
She snapped her mouth shut, turning her head away with a nervous giggle. "Sorry! I-I apologize, I know staring is rude."
"Flattery will get you everywhere, Irene." Arthur said softly, his hands falling into his lap after he shrugged free of his shirt. He saw her eyes dart over towards him, the woman clearly trying to be more surreptitious about her peeping. "Ma'am, you are buckass on my bedroll. You're more than welcome to look." He drawled, his words laced with a confidence he didn't exactly feel. He knew what he looked like.
Irene covered her eyes, and then peeked through her fingers at him. "Are...are you certain?" Instead of replying verbally, Arthur just began unbuttoning his placket. "Arthur, I...oh." She mumbled as he shoved his pants off of his hips and down his legs, freeing up his cock. "Oh, Lord." Her hand actually moved like she wanted to touch him, but she flinched back.
Arthur groaned low in his throat, pleasantly warmed by her reaction. It had been far too long since he had indulged himself, and even longer since he'd had such lovely company while doing so. "You can touch me, y'know." He offered, and her hand crept forward again.
"It...I won't hurt you?" Irene asked worriedly, her fingers hovering in midair just above his turgid cock. The damn thing was already slick with pre-spend, droplets continuing to leak forth as though his whole body was just waiting for her to be brave.
"Touch gentle-like." Arthur instructed, gritting his teeth when she circled the head of his dick with the pad of her index finger. "Jesus Mary n' Joseph-" he cursed under his breath, the sensation of her fondling him like the lightning outside had leaped into his blood. Then, "your husband didn't let you touch him?"
"I was told to be still and quiet for him." Irene replied absently, her attention blatantly elsewhere as she drew her finger up and down the side of his cock. "He didn't last long. I assume he feared if I touched him, his fuse might shorten even further."
Arthur tried to stifle his snort of laughter to no avail, waving off the inquisitive look she gave him. "Sorry, sorry. I'm just...I ain't really surprised, is all." He quipped, feeling more than a bit smug. He choked on his next breath when she wrapped her fingers around his cock, the woman seeming to gauge the weight of him in her palm.
"It's not nearly so terrifying when I can see it." Irene remarked bluntly, trailing her thumb over the sensitive head.
Arthur grunted, catching her wrist. "Easy now, Irene. I'll freely admit eatin' you out mighta' shortened my own fuse, don't take it personal." He pressed another kiss to the inside of her wrist, nipping at the tender skin there and hearing her gasp softly. "I'd like to bed you very, very much, Miss Irene." He breathed. "Show you how it ought to be."
"I…" Irene hesitated, the pattering of the rain and the encroaching thunder the only sound in the tent for a moment. "It won't hurt?"
"I hope not. But if it does, you tell me an' I'll stop." Arthur murmured, framing her face with his large hands so she couldn't hide from him. "I swear it, Irene. I ain't gonna' hurt you if I can help it." He promised fervently. "Not that kinda' man, okay?"
"I know you're not." Strong words. Brave, considering her history, her lack of knowledge about his past and her current vulnerable state. "Oh, but…" she paused, then carried on stiffly, "Arthur, if I get pregnant-"
"T-There's...ways to prevent that." He should have...it wasn't impossible to get ahold of condoms, in spite of the advertising restrictions. He felt like an idiot. "I don't have...I mean, I'll be careful." Lord, since when did he talk about this so openly? Lightning flashed like punctuation on his sentence. Irene looked pensive, her eyes wide in the dim light, but Arthur would have sworn he saw relief there.
"I know there are more ways than one. My father was a doctor," was her even reply. "Please do what you can. I'm sorry I'm not more prepared."
"Irene…" Arthur was at a loss, cradling her head to his chest. "You trust me?" He asked for the second time that day, his voice a hard rasp.
"Yes."
No hesitation. Arthur closed his eyes, warring with himself. Nothing that he knew about was foolproof. But nothing that her father could have known about was foolproof either, aside from abstaining altogether. Things could fail.
They would be careful, he assured himself. "Okay." He croaked out, trying for a smile. "Lay down with me."
Irene obliged without question, seeming a bit confused when he had her straddle his hips. Arthur pulled her to his chest for a slow, sloppy kiss, feeling his cock slide against her wet little cunt when he rolled his hips upwards. Irene gasped out his name, her hands clutching helplessly at the bedroll beneath them. "A-Arthur!"
"Yes, Irene?" The man drawled against the shell of her ear, smirking into her skin as she whined.
"Th-This is--"
"Different, I know. Maybe considered unseemly. But I want you as close as I can get you, Irene. And…" Arthur paused, burying his face in the curve of her throat. "Want you to be able to get away from me if you need to, okay?" He explained softly. "Ain't gonna' hurt my feelin's, I promise."
Her exhale was a sharp little thing, as though she had just been pricked by a thorn. "You won't make me stay?"
"Not if you don't want to, no." Arthur answered firmly, taking no offense to her query. "You say stop, I stop." As much as he hated to admit it, this wasn't exactly his first rodeo with someone like Irene. People like him tended to be...heavy-handed, so a little caution and consideration went miles.
She kissed him hard then, making Arthur groan into her mouth when she wrapped her fingers around his cock and stroked him between their bodies. He knew he must have throbbed in her grip, because she tightened her hold momentarily in response. "I'm...going to put this inside me now." Irene announced, a little awkwardly.
Arthur chuckled, the noise quickly dissolving into a gasp as she shifted her weight and the head of his cock pushed past her slick folds, Christ she was hot-
The man tangled his fists into the bedroll so he didn't grab onto her and rut upwards like he instinctively wanted to do, his breath coming in harsh, raspy pants as she slowly worked herself down on his cock. "Mary mother of-" Her little sighs and moans had Arthur gritting his teeth to the point that his jaw ached. "You alright?" He managed to ask, daring to raise his hands to rest on her thighs.
"Yes." Irene breathed, the smile on her face a moment later looking like sheer bliss. Arthur was a goner.
"You sure?" He had to verify, his hands traveling upwards to cup her face. "Feels good for me no matter what, you know that. Need it to be good for you, too."
Her eyes opened and she looked down at him, stealing the breath out of his chest as she threaded her fingers into his hair. "It's already good. Now make it better."
"So what will you do now?" Arthur asked sleepily, nuzzling his nose into her tousled curls. The rain pattering on the canvas of the tent was lulling him into a doze. The air had cooled considerably in the wake of the storm. thank the Lord for small favors.
Irene's sigh gusted across his collarbone. "Not certain. I never dreamed to think about what would happen if I was truly free. Ever since I found out about him being dead, I've...I'm not sure how to explain it. There is relief, of course, but also a type of dread. I have grown used to this nomadic lifestyle. I have grown used to not being tied down by civilization."
"You sure 'bout that?" Arthur chuckled, "you still talk like you're sittin' in a parlor enjoyin' tea with the high society."
"Oh, you and I both know that you catch more flies with honey, Mister Arthur." He felt her smile against his chest, "I...there was a sort of interlude to this life that I found enjoyable when I believed I was still hiding. A simplicity. I knew I could not settle anywhere with other folk, not for very long anyway, as it would make it more and more difficult to hide who I was. So I did not want to settle anywhere." She hummed, stretching languidly against his side.
Arthur rumbled, his hands wandering over her deliciously-naked body. "You still feel that way, Irene?"
"I don't want to go back." She murmured. "There's nothing there for me anymore. Yet I don't think I truly belong anywhere just yet."
"How about with me?" Arthur offered quietly, tilting her chin up so he could cover her throat with kisses. He rolled onto his side and pulled her back to his chest, continuing to nudge his nose against the side of her jaw until she giggled that he was tickling her. "You could come join the gang." Bold words, he realized a little too late. "I'm sure the other gals would love you, and Dutch-"
Irene shook her head and Arthur fell silent, burying his face in her curls to inhale her scent with a sort of forlorn resignation. "It's very kind of you to offer, Mister Arthur, but I'm afraid foisting myself upon an already established group would be a recipe for disaster. In a way, I am still uncertain of my identity. Despite my age, I have never really...been myself. I have always been something else, had some role strapped to my back. Now that I've truly shed it, I'll need time to settle into being who I ought to be." She threw him a smile over her shoulder. "Whether Frank, Irene, or some amalgamation of the two, I am uncertain. But I do know this: I am glad to have met you, Arthur Morgan. For you helped me banish the burden of fear that bowed my shoulders so readily. I thank you from the bottom of my heart."
Arthur was silent for a time, mulling everything over. "Suppose I'd better make the most of this then, huh?" He asked finally, gesturing upwards at the roof of the tent. "Don't sound like that rain is plannin' on stoppin' anytime soon." His cock twitched against her rear, and he grunted when she shifted her weight.
"Like this?" Irene asked curiously, raising her leg and hooking it over the back of his thigh so his freshly-awakened cock could rub across her folds.
Arthur huffed out a breath, seizing her hip with one hand to keep her still. "You're playin' a dangerous game, woman." His voice grated a bit.
"You don't scare me, Arthur Morgan." She replied playfully.
Because you don't know who I am. If you did...maybe I would.
Arthur closed his eyes to ward off that dark thought, and in his moment of distraction her hand wrapped around his cock and she canted her hips back, guiding him inside her once again.
It was like finally coming home, a soothing balm for the spirit that had been forced to wander for so long. Arthur sheathed himself as deep as he dared, her breathy cries of his name more than enough praise to keep him warm in the no-doubt solitary months to come.
"Irene, Irene, you're beautiful." He clumsily complimented her, his lips pressed to her ear so she could hear whatever fool thing came out of his mouth. "God dammit, you are so beautiful. Perfect." His hands found her breasts, cupping and caressing them until she was writhing, bucking back against him in a manner that was downright wanton.
He loved it. The feeling of her around him, beside him, underneath his hands…
Arthur Morgan did not consider himself a good man. He did not consider himself a particularly smart man either. But right now, right now, he considered himself to be a remarkably lucky man.
"I'm close-" he choked, growling when Irene clenched down on him and keened to announce her own climax. Arthur nearly spent himself inside her, only just managing to pull out and spill his seed on her thigh instead. He snarled as he came, the sensation of his hand downright disappointing after being so deep in her. "Christ alive, Irene." He panted startled when she gently palmed his still hard cock and carefully urged it back inside her. "Easy, woman--"
"I just like the feeling, that's all." Irene assured him, shivering and arching her back against his chest as she moved into a downright luxurious stretch.
Arthur groaned, wrapping his arms around her to keep them pressed together. His hands rested at the apex of her thighs, and he stroked absently over the skin he found there. "I'd love to have stayed inside you, but I know neither of us are keen on bringin' a new young'un into the world." He tried to smile, tried to make it a joke.
"Maybe someday."
Irene's nonchalant, sleepy words hit Arthur like a punch to the gut. What was this woman doing to him? Arthur loathed himself for the way his heart hitched, ached at the idea of having a child. For the longest time in his younger years he had deluded himself into thinking that he might have something like that with Mary, dreaming about domesticity of all things. Going out and teaching little Jack how to fish had been torture, because all he could think about was John leaving the boy behind and Jesus Christ, how could a person ever do something like that?
"I think I'm gettin' a little too old." He admitted quietly. "Think the ship's sailed on that one. Plus, I mean, with the stuff I'm involved in…" he trailed off, tightening his hold ever so slightly. Irene yawned, snuggling down into his arms. He kissed her cheek. "Ah, don't mind me, Irene. I'll wake you up if anythin' happens."
She drifted off so quickly, leaving Arthur alone with his thoughts. He eventually pulled away from her, a hand on her back to keep her still, and he felt a ridge beneath his fingertips. Squinting in the dim light of the tent, he realized it was a scar. And it wasn't alone, her back was fairly riddled with them.
His stomach dropped in dismay. Arthur was not free of his own scars, of course. The ones on his chin were freely visible, and the rest of his body bore a fair amount of mileage to that end. He hadn't had an easy time of it. No one in the Van Der Linde gang had.
He untied the tent flap and propped it open after shuffling back into his pants, lighting the remains of his cigarette. The older man stared out at the rain for a good long while, his mind thousands of miles away as the cigarette slowly burned to ash between his lips. Tomorrow morning, perhaps the morning after that if he was fortunate enough to steal a bit more time, they would part ways once more, cast themselves adrift to the tides of fate.
He might never see her again.
After the weeks he had spent, wondering whether the phantom woman in the Valentine hotel had been nothing but a figment of his imagination...and now, knowing that she was real, flesh and blood...
Arthur lit another cigarette and reached for his satchel, tugging free his journal and then settling in to sketch her sleeping form. Here and now, in this secret clearing, he would eke out some semblance of peace. The graphite stub swept across the page, capturing forever the curve of her cheek, the glorious mess of that chestnut-brown hair, the wrinkles of the blanket that he had draped over her in case the breeze grew too ambitious.
Turns out the man I THOUGHT was Frank was actually -IRENE-. The world does so love to afflict me with its twists and turns...
Part 1| Part 2
Tumblr media
I woke the same way I’d fallen asleep, cuddled up to Lenny’s warm, gloriously nude body, his arm draped over me. His hazel eyes were glued to the pages of a book. My all-time favorite romance book!
“Lenny!” I snatched the novel away from him. “That’s mine!”
“Hey!” He tried to grab it back, but I rolled to the other side of the bed. “I was reading that, you know. It was getting good too, they were about to kiss—”
“Really now?” Giggling, I stretched my arms over my head. Through the sheer, linen window curtains, the gray dawn streaked the sky. “But you’re an intellectual, the harshest critic of the written word I know. I thought silly love stories were beneath you.”
“Nah, that ain’t true. Not all literature needs to be a thought-provoking masterpiece. Sometimes it’s all about the way it makes you feel, if you can relate to the context, and whatnot. Honestly though, I was just reading it ‘cause I knew you did. Can we…” He paused, a rush of red stained his cheeks. So cute. “C-can we read it together? From the beginning?”
“Yes!” Warmth flowed through me at the proposition. I handed Lenny the book and snuggled against him, breathing in the familiar scent of his skin, my head propped on his hard chest. “Are you going to read to me, Mr. Summers?”
“Sure. Anything for you.” He clasped my hand and pressed a kiss to my palm before opening the book, raising it to an angle suitable for the both of us to easily view the pages.
Lenny began reading aloud, his soft-spoken voice cultured, smooth, the long vowels of his words was damn near mesmerizing, sensual as sweet melted chocolate. Playing with the ends of his thick, curled locks, I drank in the beauty of his darkly stubbled face as I listened. His chest rose and fell with every breath, the crisp hair against my cheek tickled. I ran my palm down the rigid planes of his stomach, gently caressing the well-exercised muscles. His lean body was a work of art designed purely for female pleasure, and I enjoyed every moment of touching him.
We remained connected throughout the morning, his fingers threading through my hair soothingly as he spoke such lovely sounding words. I yawned, closing my eyes, my body lax in his embrace. Through the haze of sleep, I felt his weight and heat come down on me, his full lips brushed over my cheek.
“Hey,” Lenny said. “Dozing off on me already?” His fingers brushed over my sides, tickling me.
“Lenny!” I squirmed and threw my arms around him, burying my grinning face against his shoulder. “Stop that!”
His sensuous mouth twitched with amusement. “Sorry, it’s just so tempting. You’re so ticklish, it’s cute.”
“Shut up.” I pecked the tip of his nose. “Can’t we sleep in today?”
“I wanted to take you into town, catch a show, browse some of the stores, have a nice dinner at the saloon…” He planted a quick kiss on my lips. “But I reckon that can wait if you rather stay here. A day of rest and relaxation with my favorite lady sounds like a mighty fine idea to me.”
“I’m your only lady,” I corrected, raising my hand in a proud display of the platinum promise ring he gave me.
“The one and only. Since the day we met, you were all I ever wanted. All I could think about. All I could see. It’s always been you—my everything.” He caught my hand with his, our fingers intertwined. “Sometimes I look at you and wonder how I got so damn lucky.”
My heart thumped with a tender ache in my chest. Lenny could say such sweet things, wonderful things.
“We can’t go into town,” I said. “What if someone recognizes you from Blackwater? I just got you back. I won’t lose you again.”
His amber gaze drifted over my face, searching. “Running with gang kept me away from you for a long time. We lost everything in Blackwater, and I got so caught up in Dutch’s blood feud with the O’Driscolls—lying, cheatin’, and robbin’ fools from Valentine up to Saint Denis, trying to get the crew back on their feet…I wish I came back to you sooner.” Sighing deeply, he grew silent.
“You’re here now.” I stroked his cheek. “That’s what matters.”
“Maybe so. My dad used to say dwelling on the past is something like beating on a dead horse, ain’t no good ever come from it.”
“Your father was a smart man.”
“Sure was. An educated negro like him, good and kind, ain’t long for this world. It was only a matter of time.” His eyes glittered, wet with a deep-rooted pain for a split-second before he blinked it away.
My heart clenched. My poor, sweet Leonard…
He had suffered so much tragedy throughout the course of his life. Most of the time, he seemed unfazed, strong despite the pain lingering in his heart. But I knew better. He lived in a world that didn’t want him, didn’t accept him. His color didn’t suit their fancy and the scars of rejection ran deep, the hurt and loss probably ate at his soul on the daily. Wounds like that will never fully heal, but there were ways to lessen the sting.
“Lenny Summers,” I cupped his chin. “You’re gonna stop thinking those bad, silly thoughts right this instant. Look at me.”
He complied. Our eyes locked.
“You’re a good man,” my voice were clear, and distinct, without a shred of doubt. “Do you understand me? You are good. Perfect. You have every right to be here, to live freely, to laugh, to love—no matter what anyone says, no matter what they do—you’re a goddamn human being and that’s the end of it. You’re important. And I love the hell outta you. I always will.”
Blush deepening, muscles tensed, his mouth gaped open like a fish out of water, visibly struggling to find words. He was speechless, reeling from my praise. His shaken reaction was probably the most adorable thing I’ve ever witnessed in my life.
“Say something,” I urged softly, brushing over his cheek with the backs of my fingers.
Lenny took my hand and held it to his chest, his heart thumping, racing. He was apprehensive and impassioned. But why? What was he thinking?
Finally regaining his composure, he asked, “Do you feel that?”
“Yes.” The speedy rhythm of his heart didn’t let up.
“This is what you do to me. You have power over me, a hold—it’s like a snare I can’t escape, like a spell I can’t break.” He chuckled dryly, bitterly. “I never felt weak a day in my life until I met you.”
“You’ve been a wanted man for a long time, struggling to survive, fighting an endless war with the world around you. But you don’t have to be on the defensive with me. It’s okay to let your guard down. There’s more to life than being an outlaw.”
His eyes brightened. “Oh yeah, of course. There’s strong whiskey, fine music, good books, an oiled gun, gold nuggets and silver bullets.”
“Lenny…”
“But regardless of all that, you’re the best part.” Sweetly, he nuzzled my nose.
I giggled. “Well now, aren’t you charming?”
“Ain’t that the reason you love me?”
“One of the many.”
His full lips curved into a slow, breathtaking smile, dazzling against his deep brown skin. Sunlight dappled over his face, illuminating that strong, flawless jawline of his. Goodness, he was so very good looking, impossible to resist, and my love for him intensified by the day. I was helplessly addicted to Lenny Summers, the hours we spent together felt like minutes. I could never get enough.
My cheeks heated. “God, how do you manage to turn from cute to sexy in a matter of seconds?”
He smirked. “It’s a gift, part of my charm.” His hand touched my waist, sliding downward along my thigh. A curse hissed out between his teeth once he reached my lace garter belt. “You’re still wearing those?”
“You didn’t take them off me last night.”
“I don’t plan to.” Lenny rose to his knees, hovering over my scantily clad body, eyes smoldering as he stared down at me. “Keep them on. You look so, so, so pretty just like that.”
“Don’t you mean fuckable?”
“Hey, language!” He mocked me with a lopsided smile. “That’s no way for a lady to speak.”
“Oh, forgive me, Mr. Summers,” I said, my tone laced with sarcasm. “For a lying, thieving outlaw, you’re quite the prude.”
His nose wrinkled in protest. “Me? A prude? No, I’m more of a hopeless romantic with a love for dialect and vocabulary.” He drew close, his tongue traced the shell of my ear. My breath caught in my chest. “If you say things—the right things—you can put anyone in the mood.”
I shivered, hot and bothered, a heated ache between my legs. It wasn’t particularly the context of Lenny’s words that turned me on, but the sound…the huskiness in his voice, the way he dragged the vowels, sensual and rich with passion. His voice was smooth as velvet, unbearably sexy in my ear, sending vibrations deep into the core of my body.
He could talk any woman out of her clothes and into his bed without much effort. Not that he would though, he was much too tenderhearted, too sympathetic to be a womanizer.
He was truly one of a kind. And all mine, by some miracle.
A distinct warmth flooding my core, I shoved my hands into his hair and kissed him. I loved how soft his lips felt against mine. His arms enveloped me as he kissed me back, his tongue glided over mine with hot, savory licks that left me breathless and yearning for more. I could only imagine how amazing that firm mouth of his would feel in other places…
I moaned, feeling the prod of his impressive erection against my thigh. I wrapped my fingers around him, and he bucked his hips on contact, thrusting into my hand.
He groaned into my mouth, still ravaging my lips. The scent of our lust was heavy in the air, the heavy weight of his tense, magnificent body pinning me down. He was hard as stone, and hot. I stroked him from root to tip, my palm slick with precum.
“Ah, damn…” he uttered between kisses, lazily fucking my hand. “That feels good.”
“It feels better inside me,” I murmured against his lips.
He broke the kiss, parting me with his finger. “Not yet. You ain’t ready for me.”
With a feeble sound of protest, I buried my face in his neck.
“Hey, no pouting,” he clasped my chin, forcing me to look into his beautiful hazel eyes. His voice softened. “You’re so tight. I’ll bruise you if we don’t take it slow, okay?”
My gaze glued to his fiercely handsome face, an abrupt gratitude filled my soul. “I love you.”
He beamed, kissing my lips one last time before his tongue seared a path down my neck to my breast. Once he caught my nipple between his teeth, I flinched.
Lenny quirked a brow. “You’re sensitive.”
“I still haven’t recovered from last night,” I said.
“Relax, Sugar. I’ll be gentle.”
I blinked, perplexed by the endearment, although I adored how sweet it sounded from his lips. “Sugar?”
He uttered a soft assent, and returned his attention to my breasts, wrapping his mouth around my nipple, sucking lightly. His finger circled the other, the tantalizing caress brought a mist of perspiration to my skin. His tongue moved slow, exquisitely tender over my swollen flesh, soothing like a healing balm. Relishing the sensation, I closed my eyes.
I combed my fingers through his hair, massaging his scalp. “Is there anything you can’t do with that tongue of yours?”
Lenny flashed a wicked smile. “That sounds like a challenge.” His palms slipped under my hips, he yanked me to the edge of the bed, and dipped low. I slapped a hand over my mouth, smothering a gasp as his tongue fluttered over my clit. Two of his fingers inched inside me and I clenched eagerly around him, my leg draped over his shoulder. Heat swept over me, my heart slammed erratically in my chest.
The delicate rhythm of his stroking, curving fingers was wonderful, but it was his mouth that drove me crazy. The tip of his tongue lapped at my throbbing clit tirelessly…relentlessly. My hips churned, a violent shiver moved through me. He knew my body so well, exactly how to please me, everywhere he touched left a blazing trail of warmth behind.
I bit back a cry at the sweltering heat and lash of his tongue, my core convulsing with every tender lick. Dizzy, drugged and near mindless with sensation, my hands ached for his touch, gliding over his sweat-damp skin, tugging at his hair. He captured my palm with his free hand, our fingers laced together.
“Yes, Lenny, like that,” I urged. “Make me come.”
And he did, with the soft suction of his lips and measured thrusts. I shuddered, tingling, pleasure pulsated through me. Lenny didn’t stop. His tongue continued to work my clit as I rode his fingers shamelessly, my limbs trembling, my climax rolling on and on. I was melting, drowning in sensation. Tears stung my eyes, the walls that kept my emotions at bay breaking at the seams. Swept away by the ongoing waves of ecstasy, I wept silently.
Licking his lips, Lenny rose, lifting my sweaty, limp body along with him. His gaze searched my face with concern. “You okay?” I heard his question just barely past the blood rushing in my ears.
I managed a nod. Carefully, he set me down on the center of the bed, my head hit the pillow. He crawled in beside me, wiping the tears from my cheeks with a light sweep of his knuckles. “Was it too much?”
“No.” Pleasantly aching, I sighed. “You were perfect.”
His eyes studied me for a few beats. “Promise?”
“I promise.” Dazed from the toe-curling, spectacular climax he gave me, I shut my heavy eyelids for a moment. “It’s your turn now.”
“We have all the time in the world to make love. Why don’t you get some rest?”
My gut kicked. I forced myself up to face him. “No, we need an equal exchange. I don’t want you to feel used—”
He pressed a finger to my lips, silencing me. “I don’t feel used. That ain’t what this is. It’s just…I don’t wanna push you—”
I swatted his hand away. “Well, I’m not going to sleep until you come.”
His brows rose. “Okay, fair enough. I got an idea.” He shifted to his knees, the blunt tip of his throbbing cock nudged my lips. With a toothy, iconic grin smeared across his face, he requested sweetly, “Lubrication please?”
I gladly drew him in until he hit the back of my throat and was rewarded with a sultry burst of more precum. A pleased murmur escaped me as I savored the taste. He swelled, growing thicker and larger under the flat of my tongue. His balls were big, heavy, a bold display of potent virility. I played with them, rolling the weighty pair in my hand, feeling them tighten.
My eyes were riveted to Lenny as he tipped his head back, muscles rigid and breathing ragged. A deep groan of delicious agony rumbled in his chest. “Goddamn, your mouth…fuck.”
Lenny was the most calm tempered, well-composed man I knew. Watching him unravel like this, face flushed with lust, cursing, the pleasure threatening his control—it was so very satisfying. And sexy.
He drew in a deep breath, steadying himself. “Okay, I-I reckon…that’s good enough.” He pulled out, altering his position, his knees came down at my sides.
I stared at him quizzically as he knelt over me, his slobber-coated cock stood erect above my heart. “What are you doing?”
“Something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. Since the day I laid eyes on you.” He cupped my breasts in his hands, kneading them, rolling my nipples into tight points between his forefingers and thumb.
I whimpered, arching into his hand, unbearably sensitive. His rigid length slid between the valley of my breasts, and I gasped, squirming. Why not use my mouth for pleasure instead? “Lenny—”
“I need this.” His eyes were heavy-lidded with desire as he began moving his hips, his big cock gliding between the softness of my chest. “I love you.”
The tender words rolled off his tongue with a quiet, yet passionate intensity. A bubbly sensation struck my heart. “Feels that nice, huh?”
A wry smile pulled at his lips. “I might have an unhealthy obsession with…you know.” He smacked my breasts playfully. “Don’t tell anyone.”
“Your secret is safe with me, handsome.”
His blunt crown brushed my mouth with every stroke. I kept my lips puckered, kissing the tip, loving the unique taste. The rhythmic slap of his balls against my tits had my clit aching for attention once again, but I didn’t care. Right now, nothing in the world mattered more than satisfying him. I wanted to do this for him, he deserved it for being so good to me.
The arousing sight of his sharply sculpted abdomen and lean, pumping hips was enthralling, his sweaty, beautiful brown skin shined and glistened like priceless jewels beneath the light. He was stripped bare to the primal desire where only the race to climax mattered and still, I was spellbound by his beauty. Swooning. He was divine. Heavenly. Fitting of worship.
“I’m close,” Lenny trembled, his voice was a guttural rasp.
“Give it to me.” Grasping his straining thighs, I propped myself up on my elbows and opened my mouth.
I took him in, hungrily sucking his solid length, my cheeks hollowed with the strength of my all-consuming need to pleasure him. He gripped my hair, frantically thrusting—punishing my throat with his big cock. My eyes stung and my lungs burned, but I was too turned on to give a hell. The sounds he made and the loving praises that slipped from his lips made it all worth the effort.
He emptied himself into my greedy mouth, the first spurt of his load so thick, it was a hassle to swallow. His entire body shuddered as I eagerly drained him of everything he had.
I licked him clean afterward. He curled up next to me, pressing tiny, appreciative kisses to my shoulders and neck. “I’m gonna need you to do that more often,” he uttered, and then added sweetly, softly, “Please.”
The vivid blush on his cheeks warmed my heart. “Of course I will, but first, I’m going to need some real food in my tummy.” My stomach rumbled. “As scrumptious as you may be, I can’t live off you alone, Lenny.”
“Your wish is my command, Sugar.” He pulled away and reached for his satchel on the nightstand. “Luckily for you, the last stagecoach I robbed had all kinds of goodies—”
I clutched his stubbled chin, drawing him back in. “Forget that canned slop. Wouldn’t you prefer a homecooked meal?”
“Cook?” His brows scrunched up. “Uh…I’m not—I can’t—”
“Sure you can. I’ll teach you. We can whip something up in the kitchen together.” I cupped the side of his cheek, looking into his eyes. “As long as we have each other, there’s nothing we can’t do.”
His gaze sparkled, the golden flecks wildly radiant and alluring as always.
I NEVER FINISHED MY STORY OMG. ok so i left off at being too proud to tell my friend she was right and kpop fucked hard. the difference between u and me is that i’m too good of a liar. too good. i kept up the “i hate kpop it’s cringe” facade for ALMOST TWO WHOLE YEARS, I SHIT YOU NOT. why? bc my dumb ass, extra ass, dramatic ass self thought “ok if i’m gonna have to deal with the embarrassment of admitting i’m wrong, i better do it in such an extra ass way it’ll knock ur socks off so hard that YOULL be the one embarrassed not me.” the original plan was to learn the entire choreography to bts dope, bc it’s the song that she told me to listen to and inevitably the song that got me into them, but later switched to bts fire bc i saw too many of those “choreo matches w any song” videos, and then her birthday party came up. and here’s the real kicker. her birthday is April Motherfuckin Fools. so it would be So Perfect for me to reveal my kpopism as a birthday present And a april fools prank in one. so i was Set on the Reveal being on april 1st, but the day rolls around and god that choreo is so fucking hard and i am Not a dancer. never have been. so i abandon that and go ykno what… i’ll do it Next Year. BC MY BITCHASS WAS LIKE NO THE MOMENT IS TOO PERFECT TO DO IT ON A NORMAL ASS DAY ITS GONNA BE ON APRIL FOOLS ON HER GODDAMN BIRTHDAY OR NOT AT ALL. a year rolls by, i’ve told most of our friends except her and they’re all in on it, i’d made so many subtle kpop references to her without her realising they were fully intentional and had too many scares where she almost figured me out but i lied my way out of it, and i’d given up on showing off with choreography bc i couldn’t make that shit look good. i’m not a dancer. i am, however, a rapper, and a damn good one, so i inhaled the agust d mixtape and decided i’d just rap the eminem of kpop’s anthem at her face. in korean. and change the lyrics at the end (if u haven’t listened to agust d, the bridge repeats “i’m sorry” a lot) to “i’m sorry i kept this from u for so long” and “i’m sorry i actually ult got7 not bts” (this was like the april after skz debuted ok i was holding onto got7 for dear life knowing full well skz we’re going to convert me smh) and the best part? she never saw it coming. her official present was a cd with a bunch of kpop on it but she thought it was just a personalised mixtape for her so i told her to play the first song out loud and she knew the song Instantly. it has a long intro so she was like “i guess u did listen when i recommended u this song!! i knew you’d like it since u like rap so much!!” and then i started rapping and i shit u not. she started SCREAMING. like the initial reaction was her jaw dropping and then instinctively covering her mouth but when i kept going and she realised i wasn’t fucking around she just fucking screamed like a banshee. at the end during the sorry bit i threw off my jacket to reveal a got7 shirt on the inside and she fell off her chair and started rolling around on the floor. needless to say it was every bit as satisfying as i thought it’d be LMAOOOO afterwards her ass was like “I CANT BELIEVE U HID THIS FROM ME FOR OVER A YEAR” and when i tried to explain my ego couldn’t take the “i told u so” she was like “you know i wouldn’t have made fun of you for it right? i would just be glad you’re not hating on my boys anymore” so basically i’m a big dramatic fool and she was always too good for me.
don’t mind the weird spaces here my ipad is being all fucky wucky w me rn. damn sad to hear ur sideblog experience didn’t go so well, i’d have shown u the cool side of the fandom if i knew 😤😤 leading u thru the cursed halls of kpop stan tumblr like a sketchy tour guide that’s actually 3 small raccoons stacked on top of each other like a trench coat, like “over here we have the fanfic writers that honestly need to publish a book, over here we have the gif makers that are responsible for my entire camera roll, if we take a quick swerve past the death threat anons and the twt fanwar screenshots - mind ur feet bub the 14 year olds were tryna make a grab for ur ankles - ah here’s the holy grail of shitposts, you might be here for hours, to the right we have the weird aussie side of the fandom that projects our childhoods onto chanlix but also all the members as we decide what their life in australia would’ve been like, and down there is a secret trapdoor to the blogs w endless random headcanons that will make you laugh, cry or blush depending on if the author woke up and decided to choose violence today. enjoy your Stay!” but then again i’m not so active on tumblr anymore (ngl you’ve become the highlight of my tumblr experience these days, interaction wise,) so maybe all my Local Hotspots are inactive now. i know a bunch of them are, it’s sad. “i don’t fw stan twitter for the same reason i don’t hang out in meth dens” oop. guess i’m a meth addict. no but i get u i rly do, it’s a hellhole out there, but the fact that things get shared and spread a lot easier than on tumblr and how short most things have to be (therefor keeping up w my adhd attention span without having to resort to the mental torture that is tiktok, with the added bonus of not always needing headphones.) that i just. couldn’t leave if i tried. maybe i should try being active on tumblr again but it’s a dying site in comparison.
“their music doesn’t consistently hit for me as much as skz” i’m sorry we can’t be friends anymore. what. what. you don’t dramama ramama ramama hey? you don’t feel a little jealousyyyyyy, naega anin? you don’t shoot out, shoot out, shoot out, or aremdaeun love killa love killa? you can’t be your hero du du du du du du du du du dududu? u disappoint me. literally like everyone i know who likes skz music likes mx music like it’s a rite of Passage. they’re kindred spirits, monsta x music is like skz’s music’s cool but mildly heterosexual older brother. neither of them know what a bad song is it runs in the family. and both their music runs in my VEINS. whenever i describe my music taste they’re always the first two that come to mind, skz being my number 1 bc they are my best boys but mx bc of the Flavour. pls listen to the entire the code album then get back to me 😤🙌 ok but fr ur so right they are 7 of the finest men i ever seen (yes i say 7 bc i’m including wonho cause he deserved better and i’ll die on my ot7 bullshit.) like don’t get me started on them either LOL i LITERALLY downloaded that one insta video of changkyun working out his back n arm muscles w his tattoo showing bc i needed that shit saved for Science. they could do Anything w me like frfr. yes vixx is the bdsm contract group i’m telling ya they wildin. or at least they were. it’s been years since their last comeback idk what they’re doing anymore tbh. and yeah that makes sense, savouring the hyperfixation i feel it, but also i’m so attached to skz that i never let it die. like i hyperfixate on other things and other groups but i will Always go back to skz cause they’re my homeboys. hell, they’re my home. being a predebut stay i’ve spent more time w skz than most of my actual family members at this point. but that’s just me you do u boo xx just know that if ur anything like me ur never letting go once skz it’s been my longest lasting fixation cause they hit like Nothing Else Do. ik i’ve already said that but i cannot stress it enough. they’re really special. i’m gonna stop here before i get all sappy and emotional bc i really love those boys so fucking much and i don’t drop the L bomb often. SIDE NOTE I WOULD LIKE TO SEE UR LIST OF GROUPS RANKED BY THORSt. i need to judge ur Taste. and omg cat&dog is such a guilty pleasure song bc the lyrics make me cringe so much bc while pet play can be fun they be doing it in more of an “i’m an innocent soft dogboy uwu” kinda way that just Does Not Sit Right with me. it comes back to the objectifying of asians that asians themselves don’t help in industries like these and maybe i’m looking too far into it when rly it is just wholesome n cute or maybe they are into some pet play shit idk idc i will bop to the song regardless but i will not acknowledge the lyrics nope.
YOURE RIGHT THO SKZ’S OPENNESS IS IN FACT, A BIG DEAL, i’ll grab them for u if u want but i found these twt threads of skz supporting the lgbt community and i just felt a special kind of happiness man like sure the delusional part of me likes going “haha they’re gay” bc my brain likes to imagine them as my polycule of mlm boyfriends bc sometimes thats what gives me the serotonin to get me thru the day ok don’t judge but also bc it’s nice knowing that yes i’ll never know them personally, but at least i can support them knowing they’d respect my gender identity and my pronouns, they’d respect who i choose to love, and that’s already more than the general public can say so shit, it is special! it’s special that they don’t treat being cishet like the norm - they constantly remove gender from their songs and speech entirely, they don’t assume all stays are female anymore, we don’t talk abt the babygirls incident cause we got babystays in the end outta that ok, and it’s just. so refreshing and important to me bc i can’t get that anywhere else!! like my semi ults are the boyz and while i love them very much and there’s no way all 11 of them are straight i refuse, i do get just a little bit sad whenever they she/her their fandom by default and call them their girlfriends n shit even tho i do still identify as a girl, i’m also genderfluid/nonbinary/transmasc, and i have a very love/hate relationship w my womanhood and rarely use she/her pronouns, cause it’s like, do you not see me? see us? the ones who aren’t cishet women? i mean i know kevin does bc he congratulated a fan who came out as nb but it’s just not the same as the openness we get w skz. like how do i trust cishets i could be supporting them as a queer person when in reality they’d call me a slur. what would i know, behind the screen? so it’s so good that skz go the extra mile to make it a safe space for everyone. this is already long enough i will reply to the second half of that ask in another message… tomorrow cause it’s 1am and i’m tired gn -felix bi anon
I'mma have to start putting these under a readmore so that i don't absolutely make everything who is still following me for some reason go totally fucking insane 😂
NDJDHWJJAHFNAKBSJSBFBHHDBDNAJD YOU HAVE NO IDEA THE FACES I WAS MAKING READING THIS, I WAS FUCKING CACKLING AND GASPING EVERY OTHER SENTENCE SO HARD THAT I SCARED THE CATS NDJWHSHSB the fact that you went "oh you want me to get into kpop? Give me a hot minute, and I'll give you a whole ass private concert for free" biduehsjdbd biiiiiiiiiiitch you're a fucking ICON, I stg I could NEVER 😂 (and not just because I couldn't find a tune if you gave me a printed set of Google maps directions and that I embody the steriotype that white people can't dance, like my sister kept sensing me tiktoks of the whole "dance like a white girl" trend going lmfao look it's you and eventually I was like "sis please this trend has me feeling like being white is a disability and these mothafuckers are being ableist 😭 also I could NEVER be that on beat so yall ain't even doin it right 😭😭😭😭"). Tbh if I told one of my friends (lol what friends, i got jokes) to get into Skz and they showed up at my bday and performed the entirety of I Got It I would simply shower them in money and go "aight everyone else go home, you are no longer needed, you are being laid off, your position has been eliminated, we're downsizing, the company is moving up and you're moving out, you are not qualified for this role any longer, best of luck with future endeavors" 😊
I think part of the reason I can't deal w Twitter is the exact reason I refuse to leave tumblr, in that I've been on tumblr since 2006 and twt since 2008, and tumblr literally has not changed at all, not even a little, whereas going from the early days of twt where there were no corporate sponsorships or ads and you had to manually copy and paste someone's tweet and @ them to retweet it, to how it is now, like 90% ads and showing me shit from the timelines of people I don't even fuckin follow n whatnot, it's just not enjoyable. Idk how anyone finds anything on twt, it confuses and frustrates me because I am old and have not adapted well to technology changing 😂 But arguably, the skz fanbase doesn't want me on skztwt anyways so like it works for both of us lmfaooo. I am old and cringey, and also still think of twt as stream of consciousness whereas tumblr is your teenage bedroom where you can decorate the walls with anything that interests you. I do really love the nonsensical kpoptwt shitposts tho fhshsbdjjss like it is a very specific flavor of mental instability that I enjoy immensely 😂 OH and also I initially misread part of that and thought you were saying you actually irl do meth and I was like 😳 WHAT DO I SAY TO THAT. HOW DO I HANDLE THIS. Like how do I express like "I wasn't being judgy of people who use substances cause I've been there but I was just being insensitive 😳" And then went back and reread it and was like WHEW, IM JUST AN ILLITERATE FOOL 😂😂😂😂 ejeywhdhrhjwbfbdjshdhdhd I spent like an hour bwign like "IS THE REASON WE GET ALONG BECAUSE THEY'RE ON METH???? WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS INFORMATION??????" hrhehshe I am literally a fuckin idiot it's fine
It's not that I don't fw them, it's more like... Okay so like there is no situation in which I am going to skip a skz song if it comes on shuffle. You will not ever catch me NOT in the mood to listen to Sunshine, if God's Menu comes on we are THROWIN the meager amount of booty meat I got hither and thither, I could be in the happiest mood of my life but if Ex comes on I will stop to SOB. And I'm not like that with most music, so mx just falls into the category of "there is a time and place." Idk why but it just doesn't forcibly grab hold of my heart and ass the way skz always does. I really don't WANT my skz fixation to ever end, but I know that eventually it'll stop giving me dopamine bevause my brain is my worst fucking enemy 🙃 like my arcana fixation is to date the longest running hyperfixation I've ever had, going on almost three years, and I used to not be able to spend every single second of every day thinking about Asra, but now... I just feel nothing when I look at arcana stuff. As you can probz tell by the fact that I hardly post arcana anymore 😂 So I know that eventually all my happiness will end, it always does, I can never stay just as obsessed with something as I was for long. I CANT SHARE THE LIST BECAUSE I DONT *HAVE* TASTE YET 😭 I'm basically just compiling a list of any group someone tells me I should look into, ranked by how strong the kitty purred upon googling pics of them 😂 My mom read my ass to FILTH over txt lmfao she was like "they're not that adorable. Maybe your standard for adorableness has gone down with You Know Who still on hiatus 🤔" bfjwhdhd like MOMMAAAAA THE LIBRARY IS CLOSED 😂 she attacks me any time I even hint at stanning other groups, she is a skz purist and stans skz only, unofficial Momma Stay of All Stays keeping me in check lmfao.
I feel like skz really do follow thru on their promise that they're a safe space for stays, it's nice to see that they hold space for anyone and everyone in their fanbase and do it in a really simple and elegant way, I feel. Like they never make it seem like "okay here are the fans and here are the token weirdos that were only recognizing to make a buck off of them" the way a lot of artists make it feel like 😑 like they don't go out of their way to act like it's some revolutionary act to do the bare minimum of not shitting on certain parts of the fandom, if that makes sense. They feel very "yeah, of course we love all our stays, this is a welcoming space for literally anyone, that's how it should be, that should be normal," instead of like "Hi fans we love you 😊 and special shoutout to you ell gee bee tee folk, make sure to buy my rainbow merch after the show!!!" you know? Like, they're the friends who would never make you feel weird or different for some shit, the friends that take the attention off you if something they know ur sensitive about comes up, instead of weirdly snapping at whoever brought the unfomfy thing up which ruins the mood and makes you feel tiwce as bad, yk? They just give off this vibe that they, and the space they create with their music, is just a genuine and chill place to be and hang out and relax and bond. I feel like they'd be the friend group that is so goofy and sweet and silly and accepting and lovely and always makes you feel loved and excited to be alive 🥺 They are all good noodles 🥺🥺🥺
Monday mornings in Derry weren’t ideal, regardless of the context. Teens awoken far too early for their own good, forced to come to grips with the reality that it was the first day back from the weekend. Trudging through the crowded student body and longing for the day to be over just as soon as it was to begin. A variety of feelings made the air heavy and thick with a concoction so truthful to the high school experience; frustration, exhaustion, and the underlying scent of yearning.
Few an individual found themselves bragging of the weekend’s extracurricular activities, cackling with an unusual vigor and energy unlike the rest of their near-ghoulish peers. Others were sitting on the ground, rushing through their assignments with adrenaline only just granted to them; oh yes, the heart-stopping experience of forgetting that there was homework.
Fortunately, you’d hadn’t found yourself in that predicament this morning, having thoroughly done your homework on Friday night. Best to do it then push it off and forget it; your own philosophy. Not to say you hadn’t found yourself in the same situation in times past, nor were you above those whose memory’s had failed them.
Quietly you step up to your locker, opening it and glancing down to your left, where Richie Tozier was currently scribbling nonsense down on what you assumed to be Government. You hummed, putting your things away quickly and retrieving what looked to be the same assignment - some stupid worksheet the teacher assigned, no doubt some kind of busywork. Your class truly had no grasp on the concept of being ‘quiet,’ which annoyed you to no end.
You squatted down to his level, with his pencil not even ceasing as you set the paper in his peripheral. No teachers were at their morning posts yet, either that or the ones who were supposed to be there simply didn’t care to be there.
“Oh - uh, shit, how much?” His eyes shifted from you to the paper quickly as he fumbled to reach for something - likely his wallet.
“Nothing,” Your voice leaves you laced with amusement as you push the paper into his grasp. “Just don’t get caught with it, please.”
“Aw, c’mon! You can’t just hand it the fuck over for free, man, that’ll mean I owe you a solid.”
“Just consider it on the house, Tozier. It’ll be fine, you don’t owe me.”
“Okay, okay, but don’t come hollerin’ when you suddenly need a favor from ol’ Richie, alright?”
You hum in affirmation, turning back to your locker and beginning to sort through the things that would be needed for the day to come. Around you, energy began to rise, individuals of the student body reanimating through social interaction. The morning sun may not have been enough to revitalize them, but it appeared that the promise of teenage-to-teenage interaction was.
Richie finished his work with your worksheet quickly, shoving it back in your direction with a toothy grin. “Thanks, dude, you’re a fuckin’ lifesaver, I swear.”
“Like I said, it’s nothing! Do you need help with anything else? You know I have a basically free second period in the library.”
“Nah, thanks for the offer,” He seemed to finalize, standing up to go through his own locker. “I’ll make sure to send my dumbfuck friends your way if they happen to need any tutoring, though.”
You release a laugh through your nose, head shaking as you did so. Richie looked to you with a momentary smile, only to have it fall when he looked passed to the people around you.
“Alright, don’t panic,” naturally, you felt a little alarmed as a grimace crept onto his features. “ but I think you have a momentary peepin’ Tom right now.”
“Uh ... what ... do you mean?” You couldn’t help the faint caution and apprehension crawling into your voice.
“Mullet-boy Bowers is staring at you like ... really intensely,” he turned to you once again, putting an not-so-reassuring hand on your shoulder. “If I were you, I’d get the fuck outta dodge right now.”
With that, he stepped around you, maneuvering through the hallway - likely to class - and leaving you by your lonesome and, unfortunately, vulnerable. Quickly after his departure, the bell rang shrill overhead, signaling the beginning of class as students begrudgingly made their way to their first hour classes. You made yourself among their ranks, gathering your things to hopefully outrun ( or walk in this case ) any physical advancements the fellow student could’ve had on you.
The classroom’s door frame never felt more welcoming as you stepped foot into it, releasing a breath of comfort. Most of the class had yet to filter in, meaning there was more reign to choosing whatever seat you wanted. With a hum of appreciation, you step further in, choosing a seat not-too-close and not-too-far back for your liking, sitting down and preparing for class.
You keep your attention focused on your notebook for the beginning as classmates make their way in, sitting in various spots around the room and leaving you by yourself. Booted footfalls make their dreaded way over to you, finding themselves seated to your right. Sudden fear prickles your skin, suddenly making the room too warm and too cold at once while your shoulders tense. For the love of god, be anyone, anyone other than who you thought it was.
The seat creaks, likely with the weight of its occupant leaning into your vicinity. “Did’ja get the homework done, girlie?” You can almost hear the smirk in his whisper, as though he’s a wolf bearing his maw to a sheep. You tense further, shaking your head as you unconsciously lean further into the empty space you have right.
“S’funny...swear I saw you givin’ it to Trashmouth ‘fore class started,” The seats to your front and back were occupied by others, quite possibly remaining individuals who found an alliance with Henry. “Always thought’ch’re a good girl...be a shame if someone fucked that up for y’huh?”
Blackmail? That didn’t really seem like his style, then again it didn’t quite seem like you were being offered a choice of any kind - especially if he had the man power of his goons with him.
“So what’s it gonna be, huh? We ain’t got much time,” his voice transcribed his annoyance as your mulling was cut short, sliding the paper into his vision as he diligently scribbled the answers down. Across the room you caught the eye of Richie, quickly looking away in shame. You nearly miss the amused “s’what I thought,” murmured from Henry as he finishes the work quickly, shoving your desk with a bark of laughter.
The class continues on with its usually snail-like pace, much to your dismay as you keep your eyes locked on either the clock or your notebook. In front of you sat Belch Huggins, likely to his own humor since you were no longer able to see the board, and to your back sat Victor Criss who was able to sneak in an early nap. Through the paperballs being spat at or thrown at you from your right, you couldn’t help but feel that this was in some way better than having Patrick sit nearest to you - even if he was still creepily staring into your shoulder from behind Henry with what you could only guess was that irking grin. God forbid it was his expressionless face, that churned nervousness in your gut.
The bell rang once again overhead, signaling your freedom to the library as you scrambled to gather your things and rush passed before you had the chance to get cornered. Dumping what you had in your hands in your locker - you figured it would be for later you to organize - you did your best to scamper to the library unseen.
It seemed to have worked for the most part, aside from the bemused glances you garnered from teachers. Only momentary, they shrugged it off as you being a good kid in a hurry. As you entered the vicinity, you released another sigh of relief. If there was one thing you knew, it was that Henry Bowers wouldn’t be caught dead in a library. You didn’t really worry about his friends either, they were probably busy giving some unfortunate soul a swirlie, or whatever.
“Always on time, aren’t you?” The librarian, Ms. Andrews, rhetorical question was met with a beaming smile from you. “I’ve written things down for you to do, I’ll be in and out today helping the bookkeeper in the office.”
With a timid nod, you walked over to what she’d assigned you to do, looking through the short list with a thought of reaffirmation. Checking books back in, sorting back through them, and putting labels on new ones. You didn’t think you’d get through it all in the allotted time, though you were sure she’d been aware. Despite the world’s slow pace of going digital, Derry managed to lag behind - leaving you and your school with the unfortunate continuation of the paper system instead of being able to have the use of a computer.
“I’ll be back soon, dear, you know where where everything is,” she rounded the counter top before stepping out of the room, heels clicking loudly on the linoleum outside the carpeted room. A few moments later, the sound of boots made themselves apparent on the floor outside, going unnoticed by you as you began working on what had been assigned to you.
Looking up, your eyes met the smug gaze of Bowers himself - to which you tensed up once again. It stayed like what for an uncomfortable amount of time, the stuffy silence broken by the likes of you.
“Didn’t think you’d be a fan of the library,” you murmured, closing the book and setting it on the cart to be replaced.
“Wasn’t really, ‘till a lil’ birdy told me where my favorite bunny hangs out fer her second hour,” A sly smirk crawled onto his features as he watched you grimace over the use of the pet name.
He stepped forward, watching a physical flinch from you occur whilst he leaned his elbows onto the counter. It was stupid of him to get worked up over watching you squirm like that, but he had to admit there was definitely a feeling that came along with it. Leaning onto the counter, he gazed into your face. “What’ya say to us peelin’ outta here, goin’ and havin’ some actual fun?”
You fell silent at the question, blush darkening your features all the way to the ear. Unable to keep eye contact, you glanced to the pile of books that suddenly seemed way more interesting. “I’d say,” your voice came out so much more fragile then you’d meant it to as you looked back into his eyes. “Take me to dinner first.”
At your rebuttal, he found himself at a momentary loss for words, his own cheeks dusting with a faint pink. His smirk faltered, before returning at full force. “Can’t a man get a taste first, then?”
“ Uh, ” your mouth went dry, eyes suddenly widening. How could he be so forward?
“What’ll it be, doe-eyes?”
With a glance around the vacant library, you looked to him again. “Follow me.”
His smirk turned wolfish as you led him to the vague-privacy of the bookshelves. Once the doorway was out of sight, and the two of you were tucked away into a corner, you looked to him. “We’ll have to be quick...and quiet.”
He stepped to you, only partially caging you in with one hand. “I can do quick, but I can’t promise quiet, bunny.”
“W-we can’t do much,” you stammer, face flushing as he lowered himself to your neck. “I’m n-not that easy!” You squeak when you feel his lips press against your jugular, putting an embarrassed hand to your mouth.
“Thought we had to be quiet,” he chuckled.
You put your hands onto his face, dragging him backward to press a chaste kiss to his lips. Quickly, he swatted your hands away, coming to rest his own on your waist as you replaced your hands onto his shoulders. The kiss escalated to eyes being closed, lip nipping, and heads turning for a better angle.
You gently pulled away, in turn his hands beginning to roam your mid-section with curiosity as you caught your breath. When he brushed a certain spot, you couldn’t suppress a giggle, much to his amusement as he began to brush it intentionally.
“Henry!” You giggle, putting your hands on his chest to push him away.
“Y’know, I like the sound of my name on your lips, doe-eyes,” He pressed a kiss to your lips once again before pulling away completely. “Maybe you’ll be sayin’ it with more gusto tonight, huh?”
Your face flushes, eyes widening again. “Oh - oh! Uh, maybe..?”
“Meet me durin’ lunch, we’ll talk then,” and with a wink, he set out of the library.
