The Not-So Invisible Boyfriend - OP81
Request from @tinyhrry - Hii i have a request for oscar. His relationship with yn is not a secret but its private. So yn ikes to make tiktoks and ig stories but oscar doesnt want people to think shes single and alone so he does things that make it look like shes with a guy. Im sorry if this is confusing but its like this tiktok! https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSFsD3oNK/
No part 2 requests please
Tumblr media
Oscar and y/n never really made a point of discussing the privacy of their relationship. They just both sort of silently fell into an agreed digital silence with each other.
They follow each other and like each other's posts but that's the extend of it.
Y/n already having a decent following on her platforms and Oscar amassing a following from his career. Neither needed the other for some sort of clout.
So Oscar never appears on y/n's accounts and y/n never appears on Oscar's accounts.
She attends races and does get caught on broadcast and in clips of the paddock. But she has noticed that Oscar sometimes likes to insert himself in other ways. Just little glimpses of himself.
He has always helped but when y/n makes videos she finds his hand reaching into frame or he'll put a necklace he's bought for her on her before she starts recording.
One particular instant that he shocked her with was throwing his 81 cap at her while she was recording a TikTok.
"Alright, guys so I'm back home. I'm home alone and I'm going to have a reset. So clean the house and have a little pamper session with me." Y/n grins setting her phone down. "We've been away and the apartment was sort of left in a bit of a mess. So it needs a revive and then I'll give myself a nice night in."
Oscar is out in Woking on the simulator for the day so she's got the day to just spend however she likes.
Y/n sets up her clips and cleaning the floor, doing their washing from travelling so much.
"I'm not saying that I was made for house chores...but honestly till me I'm not a top tier house wife right now." Y/n grins to the camera as she finishes folding laundry. "Ok, time for trophy wife agenda to start."
-
By the time Oscar arrives home y/n is just stepping into the bath and sighs settling down in the worth of the bath.
"Getting boobs out for the camera." Y/n mumbles before seeing Oscar step up to the open doorway. "Hello, you."
"Are you pursing a new avenue that I don't know about?" Oscar questions making her grin.
"I'm trying to captured me in the bath. But actually since you're home and not dripping wet like me-don't make that face, you perv." Y/n states watching Oscar smirk at the mention of her being dripping wet.
"I'm sorry, go on." Oscar laughs since he knows she was going to ask for a favour.
"Could you get me a glass of water with some ice please?"
"Ok." Oscar nods though he moves forward and leans over kissing her softly. "Can't believe you're naked on camera right now."
"I'm covered!" Y/n giggles earning a disapproving grunt before he moves out the bathroom and she looks at the camera knowing how she'll edit that moment later.
Oscar appears with a wine glass with water and ice in it knowing that y/n likes to use wine glasses for any drink she wants because it's "boujee" that way.
"Awww...thank you, baby." Y/n grins before watching him sigh and sit on the floor still out of frame of her phone but still there. "Are you staying?"
"I want to join you but you're recording so I'll just sit here."
"No...stop the recording, it's for a TikTok anyway. I've definitely got enough footage for the video." Y/n smiles making him get up and stop the recording. Putting her phone down on the side before he pulls off his own clothes and climbs in behind her. "How was your day?"
"It was good, missed you."
"You always say that." Y/n laughs before she's pulled to lead back against as much as possible. "I missed you too...cleaned the house and I got all our clothes clean and dry."
"Productive day and now you're ending it relaxing and winding down?"
"Yeah, feels like the only right way to end the day."
Later while editing, y/n does her usual technique of including Oscar but not enough for him to really be in it, just him handing her the wine glass and his feet when they end the day watching Monsters Inc.
-
Y/n smiles posing for a video in the mirror for Oscar's hands to come into frame, placing his helmet on top of her head and his laugh to be captured just before she stops recording.
"I'm trying to get my outfit on video, you pest." Y/n laughs then sighing. "I'm uploading that though."
"Do it." Oscar grins placing his helmet down and pulling her into a kiss. "Mmm...if we were anywhere else."
"Behave." Y/n laughs then clearing her throat while Oscar seems to have his mind stuck in his own thoughts of what he'd do if they were anywhere else. "You need to get ready for practice, get changed."
"Mmm." Oscar grunts finally releasing her with a small smile while she sits down and posts the video.
It takes a matter of minutes for DMs to come in with followers and fans saying they wish y/n and Oscar posted together but this is really the extend of it. Hell, they've even appeared on Lando's photography account more than they've appeared on each other's.
Y/n thinks the only evidence of her in Oscar's posts is her shoes and maybe a few strands of hair.
"Can you imagine the reaction of if we post together one day?" Y/n smiles as she leans back watching Oscar change and wondering what the reaction would be if she posted a video of him changing. Obviously nothing too explicit. But still the reactions would be feral.
"Maybe our wedding. Just one photo of us from the back." Oscar smiles since he quite enjoys creating chaos despite his external chill behaviour. He is always a bit amused by the reactions to just the peaks of him in y/n's posts. Fans practically drool at the glimpses of the couples dynamic which is otherwise completely unknown to the world.

X-Files Collector’s Edition: Meet The Mulders
Mulder’s childhood is only touched on briefly in the series; but it’s enough: stern, cold handshakes and cool, unanswered questions with a silencing slap to punctuate. These fics dive into the Mulder family dynamics as it rips horrifically in half. (A separate post shall be made for fics that deal exclusively with Bill Mulder, Tena Mulder, or Samantha Mulder.)
**Note: I spell Teena as “Tena” because that was how it was spelled in a Two Fathers/One Son script, and if that’s what Chris Carter wants... *shrugs*.*)
I attempted to keep these in “chronological order by author”’; but-- c’est la vie.
(Gossamer links are acting weird, but they’re worth the extra step to read.)
Childhood and Pre-S1 Fics
Dryad’s (Ao3)
Bird Song
““Is he asleep yet?" Bill asked, peering over her shoulder.
She smiled. "Almost.  He's so tired he can barely keep his little peepers open, but he keeps trying nonetheless.””
A look at new, proud parents. Lullabies and newspaper clippings.
2790 Vine St. (Gossamer)
“Fox idly kicked the settle's bottom panel, unable to decide which was worse, staying at home or going to the party.”
The parties of polite society in the wake of Sam’s abduction are empty, vapid, torturous. Mulder observes the party, disconnected without a tangible anchor.
Though It Be Winter, Still Our Heart Beats
“She was a different woman now. Only the faint pinking of her cheeks and the subtle flare of her nostrils betrayed her emotion.
"Bill, you promised!" As always, he was helpless in the face of her anger.”
Mulder has joined the FBI, and Bill dreads telling Tena. Both begin to plot how to derail their son from his goal.
pokeitlikejello’s Baby Loves Pain
“He tried everything to calm her. He made faces, he made funny noises, he tickled her. But nothing worked. It was then that Fox spotted his father’s fishing boots and hat near the hall closet.”
Little boy Mulder is left to watch after toddler Samantha. This short shows his touchingly sacrificial nature. The adult tensions build quietly in the background.
muldertorture’s (Alt. Ao3, FFN) Chilmark MA 02535
“Fox looks like an average young man.” A beat. “Looks, however, are quite often deceptive, aren’t they Teena?”
Tena begs for assurances from CSM while he observes Mulder and Samantha playing. As with CSM, there are no guarantees, and plans always change.
@leiascully’s (Ao3) Armada
“But the boat sailed on, one of so many, beyond his reach.”
As so often with neglected children, Mulder’s zest for play takes a macabre turn as he seeks attention from his already disconnected mother. Tena’s nature is one of distance even before Samantha’s abduction.
MistressKat’s Summer of ‘73
“Something about Fox’s expression shifts and softens; he knows exactly what she’s talking about. Over the last few weeks, they’ve spent a lot of evenings huddled together on the landing, listening to their parents fighting in hushed voices.”
Samantha wants desperately to escape the mounting weirdness at home. Mulder’s heartfelt promise of “next time” is one he ultimately can’t keep. Tena’s resigned willingness to give up Samantha simmers in the background.
@agirlcallednarelle/Tabith Jean‘s
But You Said (Ao3)
““See? I told you he would come if we needed him!’ Samantha hissed loudly. Fox grinned the same pursed smile he had seen on Samantha a moment before....”
No one likes bullies, and little spitfire Samantha tolerates them even less. She holds her brother to his promise; and is proud when he keeps his word.
Absolution
“His footsteps echo through the hall louder than they did before. Though he never thrived on exuberance, it came as part of the package of having young children, and this new, restrictive silence unnerves him.”
Bill Mulder is hollowly seeking redemption through his work, unable to bridge the gap with his furious wife and troubled, driven son.
Foxsong’s Sins of the Father
“Knowing he would only lose him, Bill had steeled himself from the beginning against loving this child too well, and his reticence toward Fox had been made all the more painfully apparent when Samantha was born. He had loved Samantha with a ferocity that shocked him.”
A twist on the family dynamic: Mulder had been part of the inoculation program from a young age in what was-- Bill had assumed-- prep work for his abduction. When CSM switches up the children, Bill is left floundering: he has no relationship with his son to build, and whatever one he has left with Tena (who is portrayed as the loving glue of their family) will deteriorate if CSM makes good on his threat to tell the truth.
Anonymous/Rebecca Rusnak’s (mulderscreek) Black is the Color
“Bill is my friend, possibly my only true friend. Certainly the only friend who knows who I was.  And I know this is dangerous, but I feel a connection to Bill and his family that I cannot force myself to break.”
CSM’s POV-- it’s fascinating to ingest fics posed as sympathetic reads, because it cuts to the heart of this man’s martyr complex. This one is particularly poignant because it mixes in shame from the fallout of the Syndicate’s actions and self-righteous superiority at “filling the hole” left in Mulder’s life. What’s even more fascinating is that CSM isn’t Mulder’s father, just a sympathetic “mentor.”
ijustknew’s Before and After (Tumblr)
“One night, after nearly a month of deafening silence, Mulder’s father announced that Mulder was going back to school. Mulder wanted to protest that he couldn’t bear it, that he couldn’t stand the people and the questions, but his father’s word was law, so Mulder nodded and went to bed.”
Mulder’s status as funny older brother and distinguished student crumbles in the wake of Samantha’s abduction.
@badforthefish/Scarlet’s With Fortune and Men’s Eyes
“She did try to tell herself that she was only being strong for her remaining child, but deep down, she knew the ugly truth: she simply didn’t love her little girl enough to crash and burn.”
A fascinating deep dive into Tena’s POV after Sam’s abduction. Bill, shattered at the loss of his favorite, begins to hate Tena’s unaffected attitude. Tena, glad she kept her favorite, by turns soothes and shuts out her son.
I love this particularly because it taps into my niche XF belief: CSM was Sam’s father, not Mulder’s, and Tena strongly suspected it.
Joann Humby’s Half Life- 1976
“Problems solved are battles won. In retrospect, perhaps it has been for the best. Unable to cling to me, Fox has learned self-reliance, independence, strength. My young man, my pride and joy.”
Tena’s callousness dressed up as gentile unconcern shines like a giant, gaping beacon of selfishness. She is so ingrained in her excuses that she disregards the silent censure of the responsible people around her.
Sarah Johnson/RaEnright’s
How to Catch an Alien 01
How to Catch an Alien 02
““Don't use them fifty-cent words with me, Fox boy. All ye need to say is yer sister's missin and you saw them grey men steal her."
"Yeah." Fox scuffed his shoe. "You think I'm crazy now."
"Not't'all. You come with me, son, and I'll help ye. I seen them grey men too....”
Young Mulder meets an old man in a bookstore; and the two become friends in their quest to gain answers from extraterrestrials. Mulder’s new radio works so well it intercepts a military plane and almost get him in big trouble.
Vickie Moseley’s (Ao3, Gossamer) Consequences (Gossamer link)
“The anger turned to dread. It was the one thing that he'd thought about, the one option he'd taken hours to consider. He couldn't let Fox anywhere near him for longer than the length of a weekend. If the syndicate decided to test him again, this time they would surely go for the boy. ...So he had to keep the boy at arm's length, shuffle him off to his mother, where he'd be safe. At least, that was what Bill prayed he was doing. “
Vickie’s specialty is Mulder hurtfic, not a genre I care much for (and it must be done well.) However! This was quite the character study into the conflicted, tortured mind of Bill. He forgot his weekend, then forgot his son’s birthday, then realized his son was gravely ill. His depth of reined-in heartbreak and failure is explored interestingly.
stellar_dust’s (Ao3) Home for Christmas (Ao3)
“When Teena walked in with her packages twenty minutes later, she couldn't believe her eyes - Fox and Samantha, curled up together beside the Christmas tree, reading. She paused at the door and smiled, watching unseen, on her way upstairs to wrap the last few presents. I'm so blessed, she thought, and turned away, unwilling to disturb them. Now if only Bill weren't working late, everything would be perfect. ~*~ That was the year they got Stratego.”
The long-term effects of Samantha’s loss. Mulder’s happy Christmases devolve into avoidance, and perpetual pain and loss through Pheobe and Diana. Scully and TLG eventually improve his outlook; and even Tena finally sends a gift and an invite, though pitiful and empty. (The fic ends with Mulder telling Scully about his history, but that’s extra reading~. I usually stop after Tena’s death.)
Canon Divergent and AU Fics
Deannie’s Best Loved
“The unspoken threat was unmistakable. They'd already given him his choice--his best loved, or everyone. They'd make good on the threat if he left now. And not only would his son be gone, but his wife and daughter as well... “
A canon-divergent fic starring Bill and Tena being unwitting victims. CSM intercepts the two of them at party and prevents them from saving their children. Bill chooses Tena’s safety above the kids, eventually destroying their marriage.
The story leads up to Bill’s death-- where I like to stop reading-- before it continues into Anasazi plot.
memories_child’s Four Ways Teena’s Life May Have Turned Out Differently
“She wonders, every day, if she made the right decision. And then Samantha calls her name.”
These vignettes-- sought-after socialite to sober wife to sorrowful mother -- work great separately but even better as a whole. It turns canon-divergent after the abduction, since it was Mulder who was taken, not Sam.
@cecilysass‘s (Ao3) The Boy on the Beach (Ao3)
“There was a tightness in Scully’s chest as she watched the boy’s face, the set of his jaw. How could she ever explain why she wanted him to be nothing but endlessly kind to his sister? How could she convey to a twelve-year old boy the brokenness of a thirty-two year old man — a man who would sit on a motel room floor, speaking to his new partner in hushed tones about the defining loss of his life?”
This time travel casefile (set post Amor Fati) quickly derails, trapping Scully in the past. Realizing there is time to save Samantha from being abducted, she travels to Martha’s Vineyard and helps them evade CSM and his goons. Adult Mulder, wracked with guilt over his cruel words in their last fight, reaches her just in time. CSM is finally dealt with, and all’s as well as can be in their universe.
Although the present-day content is canon-divergent (according to my headcanon), and I skip any ~spicy~ adult moments (because that’s not my cup of tea), the intensity of the writing and the character voices is fascinating. Standouts moments were: Scully and the kids hiding in the tree, and Mulder crying over the newest faxed photo.
Most of these fics (and authors) are already well-loved; but they still deserved to be highlighted for their quality and interesting perspectives.
Enjoy!

a little jealousy never hurt anybody, right?
6.7k
HIIHIHI this was requested by the lovely @angelsuestyles (their ask is in my recent posts!) ALSOOOO THANK YOU FOR 222 BILLION FOLLOWERS (∩˃o˂∩)♡ (not really but 222 :0 !!! I love all of you guys!! thank you, it literally means so much to me <<<<<333333)
edit: I forgot to put this in here when I first posted but this IN NO WAY is hating on Camille at all (she's literally so hot PLS! she just inspired harry’s 2nd album so she worked for the story) and you guys shouldn’t hate on her either!!!
summary: Y/N and Harry are idiots.
warnings: cursing, mentions of alcohol and illusions to a boner ¨̮ ( I think that’s it...)
Y/N regrets quite a few things.
Like that time when she took her senior photo and didn’t realize the small bit of concealer she had blended under her eyes would flash back so much. Or when she was being introduced to a set of twins and even though she had been completely sober that night, accidentally ended up kissing the both of them, not realizing who was who (she didn’t even remember who she wanted to kiss in the first place). And of course, she regrets somehow being able to put a check in one of those super specific love-cliche boxes.
It really wasn’t her fault for falling for Harry. How could she not? Ever since he asked her to join him on his sophomore tour after she played some guitar for his album, she knew there was no way to crawl out of the hole that had just been dug. All thanks to her her friend Sarah, who introduced the two at her intimate birthday party, just months before Harry started producing and writing for Fine Line.
When an “Oh, shit! You’ll have t’show me sometime!” erupted from Harry after Sarah mentioned Y/N played guitar and even partnered with Mitch on a few projects of his own (that unfortunately, not even after Y/N’s begging, would never be released to the world), Y/N was sure that she would never end up showing Harry, and he was just being sweet. But when a few days later, Harry texted her explaining how he got her number from Sarah and asking if she could get together so he could hear her play, Y/N realized he had been serious, and well, the rest was history.
Harry had insisted she play for a track, then one became a few, then a few became practically the entire album, and soon Harry was talking about how “sick” it would be if she went on tour with them, and after arranging things with her uni and taking a leave from her job, she was ready.
Tour had no shortage of interesting moments, from the time Harry almost broke his ankle during rehearsal and tripping on the microphone wire (why he insisted it have a wire, Y/N had no idea) to Mitch getting really drunk after one show and blabbering on and on about British culture and how different it was from American culture, and YN was sure she’d never seen or heard him talk this much, but no one was complaining.
Y/N had found some sort of companionship in everyone on tour. Sarah had always been like a big sister to her, and the protective instinct really kicked in when they were in a different country, Y/N noticed. Charlotte was pretty new, just like Y/N was and they bonded quite fast over that, and their love for fashion they could never afford. Adam was more open and bubbly, and he took Y/N in like one of his own kids. She truly didn’t think being 23 was so different than everyone else being in their late 20′s and early 30′s but after being treated like a fragile puppy, she noticed that no one else felt the same as her-- she really wasn’t complaining though, it just meant she had all eyes looking out for her, and she kind of needed that to be honest.
Mitch practically became her older brother, and although he was a bit closed off and shy when they first met (which was a few weeks before Y/N met Harry) eventually he was joking around with just her, and teaching her new things on the electric guitar she hadn’t known before.
Finally, Harry. It would be an understatement to say Y/N and Harry got really close, really fast. He was always really good at making friends, but with Y/N it seemed they became great friends in a heartbeat. He opened up about almost everything, fame, missing home, his heartbreaks, his accomplishments, and everything in-between. Y/N did the same, told him how paying for uni was an absolute bitch (to which he offered to pay and she immediately turned him down), how her parent’s divorce impacted her own relationships (Harry had nodded in agreement with that), and about how being on this tour changed her life. By week 2 of tour, the two had become so close, even the fans had picked up on it just during their banter and contact during shows.
“They’re ‘shipping’ you guys,” Mitch had said, taking a sip of water backstage as everyone was gathered in the band’s dressing room. Harry was still getting dressed and ready, so it was everyone but him. “It’s quite cute, honestly.”
Y/N’s brow raised in confusion. “What- why? We act normal like we always do.” She pointed out, firm in her statement. A snort from Charlotte made Y/N turn her head to the strawberry-blonde and gape. “What? Do we- do we not act normal?” She asked, looking around at everyone, now flushing out of embarrassment. “You two act like you’re dating sometimes, love,” Sarah pointed out. “It’s nothing to worry about though, he’s just really affectionate, friends or partners, and we can tell you do too, so it’s inevitable that someone will mistake you guys for a couple.”
“Mistake who for a couple?” A familiar voice asked, and everyone’s gaze wandered over to the door where Harry had walked in with his billowing dress shirt, and dress pants for the night. “You and Y/N.” Adam said, and Y/N’s head had snapped towards him to give him a death stare, but before her eyes could burn into his skull, her attention was dragged away by an arm draping across her shoulders and the dip of the couch next to her. She turned to look at him, and he gave her a soft smiled before squeezing her shoulder with his hand. “Makes sense, s’like we’re practically married.”
“I’m waiting on a proposal.” Y/N said with a grin, and Harry smirked, pulling her in closer towards his body. “You’ll get one soon, pet, don’t worry.” The conversation had then shifted to Mitch and Sarah who were literally work-wife and husband, not yet anyways, but everyone knew he would ask her soon enough. Y/N always like this before shows, happy. Not that preforming and the adrenaline rush afterwards wasn’t enough, but everyone was always together, and she liked that a lot.
She also liked how Harry’s arm had slid down from her shoulders to her waist and how his fingers splayed across her hip, how they gently squeezed, and how his thumb mindlessly ran up down across her skin. It wasn’t an overstatement to say that stayed on her mind the entire night.
。:°ஐ
Harry was always positively buzzing after a show. His narcissistic side loved it when everyone’s attention was on him for hours at a time, screaming his name and shouting their declarations of love.  He loved to be told how talented he was, how handsome he was, and how funny he was, it was safe to say he had a bit of a praise kink, if he’s being honest. But if it was even possible, he loved hearing it all from Y/N even more than the thousands of people in the crowd. He told himself many times that it was just because she cared about him, and he cared about her, and hearing praise from someone he knows and respects (not that he didn’t respect his fans) was just so much more fulfilling.
So after every show when he’d rush offstage with he rest of his band, his attention always went to Y/N, waiting for her praise, and he always got it.  He, of course, complimented her back, and watching her smile was more than enough to keep him happy the rest of the night. This night had gone the same as all the others, an amazing show, running offstage, and hugs and kisses being thrown around like a beach ball at a rave. “That was awesome H, your whale seems to get better every time.” Y/N had commented, and he had attempted helplessly to keep his cheeks from flushing. “I’ve just got strong lungs, pet. Could never compare to your guitar playing though, the real star of the show. Don’t tell Mitch I said that.”
She waved off his compliment and laughed, pulling him into a soft hug with a soft kiss on the cheek that he was still thinking about when they made their way to a bar for the night. He couldn’t take it off of his mind, not even when there was a pretty blonde in front of him, her hand running flirtatiously over his arm and her smile as blinding as the sun had been earlier.
Of course she was pretty, there was no way to deny it,  she just wasn’t as pretty as Y/N. No one was, not after he’d laid eyes on her and began using her beauty to determine everyone else’s attractiveness.
So when his attention from the woman in front of him fades, he’s looking around for the familiar face that he can’t enough of. He meets Y/N’s eyes and immediately her own dart back to Charlotte, biting the inside of her cheek and praying he didn’t catch her staring at him with envy.
Envy of the girl in front of him, who go to express her attraction towards Harry without hiding it, and not worrying about if he feels the same way or not, because of course he finds the girl in front of him attractive, who wouldn’t?
It’s then, that Y/N starts to pity herself, physically and romantically. The partners she’s had before always seemed way too good for her, and she had never been the one to end it.  To say that destroyed her self-confidence in the long run would be an understatement.
It wasn’t like she needed a partner to make her confident, no, she was perfectly capable of doing that on her own, but for the first time in a long, long time, Harry made Y/N feel really good about herself. Good about her personality, her humor, everything, because if someone she looked up to that much, if a man like Harry Styles wants to be friends with her? She thinks it just meant she was doing everything right.
So Y/N, in short, was jealous. So jealous and wound up by Harry showing attraction towards that girl, that everyone else seemed to notice she was a bit off. “Y/N, you okay?” Mitch asked from across the booth, his thick brows twisted in concern. “Hm?” She looked up from the wooden table beneath her to see everyone, sans Harry, looking at her with the most pitiful eyes she had ever seen, and god, did she feel disgusted. Disgusted that she had fallen so hard for a man she could never have, that everyone around her noticed and felt bad for her.
“I’m fine, but I think m’gonna call it a night. I’m pretty tired after today’s show.” She said with a tight-lipped smile, hoping it would convince everyone that she was okay. Of course it didn’t though and Adam caught on. “Funny, I was about to say the same. I can’t stay up late like I used to anymore, wanna catch a taxi back?” He asked, and Y/N nodded with a real smile this time, albeit the fact it was small, because she really didn’t want to go back to the hotel alone, and Adam always knew what to say.
Sarah and Mitch slid out of the booth to let Adam out, and Y/N simply stood up on her side because she had the outside seat. Harry was supposed to sit next to her on the edge, but seeing as he went to the bar to grab everyone another round and then ended up talking to someone else, that didn’t happen. She slipped on her light beige coat and grabbed her purse, slinging it on her shoulder as Adam put on his jacket as well. When Y/N looked to the bar where she had last seen Harry, he was still standing there animately talking to the woman in front of him, dimples prominent in his rosy cheeks, and all she could do was hope he didn’t notice the two of them slip out as they made their way to the door.
Alas, Y/N could never be that lucky.
“Hey! Where are y’guys going?”
Y/N and Adam turned around at the sound of his voice and that was when Adam went in full protective mode, slinging his arm around Y/N’s shoulders and pulling her in closer. She made a note in her head to thank him immensely when they escaped this bar.
“Heading out for the night, we’re both pretty pooped.” Adam explained, eyes darting from Y/N to Harry who now stood in front of them, his own eyes darting from Y/N to Adam then back to the girl who was now avoiding eye contact at all costs.
“Oh, alright then. Are- Y/N are you okay?” He asked softly and only then did her eyes meet his own. “Yes, I’m fine. I feel like such a baby when I’m around you guys.” She joked, her lips curling into a small smile.
Adam chuckled at that and so did Harry, but Y/N could tell the curly headed one was still concerned. “Well we gotta catch a cab, so…” She trailed off, her thumb poking back to the door.
“O-okay,” Harry nodded. “Get back safe, yeah? Have a good night.” He said in parting and Y/N and Adam both nodded, wishing him the same before turning back around and pushing through the door. Harry watched the two of them leave, and his stomach bounced around in an odd way.
The cold air whipped across the duo’s faces, and and Adam rubbed Y/N’s shoulder comfortingly as he hailed a cab. They didn’t talk until they were settled in the back and Adam told the driver the destination. “Wanna tell me what’s up? Cause I’m not gonna bother you anymore when we get to the hotel.”
She smiled at him and scoffed a bit before trilling her lips, a soft noise releasing from her mouth at the movement. “Um,” She began, running her hands through her hair. “I’m pretty sure you already know.”
At her words, Adam just raised a brow at her. “What? You guys all looked at me like someone just killed my puppy back there!” She defended, raising her hands. “Okay, fine, fine. It won’t help if you keep all your emotions bottled in though, you know?”
“Yeah,” She sighed. “I know.”
After getting back up to her room, doing her nightly routine (which really was just her washing her face, brushing her teeth, and changing into the t-shirt Harry gave her a few weeks ago and her Spongebob decorated fluffy pajama shorts that she got in college as a joke but really ended up being her favorite item of clothing she owned, other than Harry’s shirt, of course) she slipped into bed and began scrolling on her phone.
Only what felt like 15 minutes later, a knock on her door broke Y/N out of the trance she was in and she sighed a bit, pulling the covers back and grumbling as she made her way to the door, annoyed at whoever was behind it-oh.
Harry looked at her as she swung the door open for him and he immediately grinned. “Hi, love.”She could never stay mad at him. “Hey, H.” She smiled at him, still a bit confused. “What’s up?” He ran a hand thorough his hair and retained eye contact with her, before speaking.
“Sleepover?”
She nodded and let him in, and immediately he went to her suitcase without a word, pulling out some her biggest sweatpants and stripping to his boxers, slipping the joggers on and keeping his shirt off. Y/N suddenly was reminded of all of Harry’s tattoos she knew none of the meanings behind.
Sleepovers were common with the two of them, and they always occurred in Harry’s suite, Y/N on the way too comfortable couch, and Harry guiltily on the bed even though she insisted she take the couch because “We can’t have your back hurting when you preform!” And he couldn’t say no when she also said “Please?” and looked at him with those soft eyes.
So now it was a bit different, being in her room, because 1, there was only one bed that they would both consequently end up sleeping on, and 2, Y/N and Harry’s feelings had both developed a bit further than friendly (although neither knew about the other’s).
She hesitantly crawled back into her bed and patted at the area right beside her, which Harry quickly traveled over to, lifting his side of the comforter and pulling it over the both of them while Y/N leaned over to the night-stand and grabbed the T.V. remote. She plopped back into the pillows and started scrolling through random channels, trying to find a decent movie for the two of them to fall asleep to.
All the while, Harry was attempting to look at the T.V. but the light was shining on her face in a way that just made her look so pretty, not that she wasn’t always pretty, but she seemed to always look the best when she was in her natural state, no makeup, no nice clothes, it was just all so domestic and the feeling overwhelmed him when he realized he wanted to be the one to see her like this every night.
Her eyes darted from the T.V. over to her right where Harry was curled up in the covers, and she could feel the burn of his eyes on her. Now that really didn’t help with her insecurities, and as she continued switching through the channels she found herself burying under the covers more and more.  Soon, she landed on a stupid rom-com that she’s seen a few times before but she never really knows what it’s about because her attention gets easily dragged away from it.
She puts the remote back on the table and flips back around to be face to face with Harry, who was now looking at her with furrowed brows. “Why’re you burying yourself under the covers?” He asked with a frown, and she lulled her head away from him then back, biting the inside of her cheek. “M’just a bit cold.”
His brows raised because he knew full well it wasn’t cold at all in this room, in fact it was quite hot, but he didn’t want to deal with her lying and thinking she could get away with it, so he pulled the covers off of himself, which actually cooled him off a good amount and piled them all on top of her. “Hey!” She cried out, muffled by the fabric on top of her. “M’hot, so I figured you could have my covers.”
He heard a bit of grumbling and the covers were flung off of the bed entirely in a few seconds, Y/N sitting up and leaning on her arms breathing a bit heavy and turning to Harry with a stink in her eye. He just flashed his signature cheeky grin and she grabbed her pillow and hit him over the head before placing it back and pulling the sheets over her body.
“Ow! You fucker.”

Harry was sure about a lot of the things he did.
Like when One Direction split up, he didn’t remain in constant contact with the boys, and while it was difficult at first,  they all needed a break, and it just made it so much better when they met up to hang out again. Or when him and Camille both decided it was for the best that they break up and they remain friends to this day. And of course, he was sure about bringing Y/N on tour.
She was possibly one of the best people he had ever worked with, and one of the best friends he’s ever had. He was sure about getting close with her, and he was sure about keeping her close. Only, now keeping her close meant keeping her arms length apart, because if he got any closer he wouldn’t be able to handle being with her any closer than a few little touches and hugs and cheek and forehead kisses, not when he couldn’t have her.
So it was safe to say when he opened his eyes the next morning with Y/N flung over him, her leg between his own, her arm wrapped around his chest with her face pressed into the junction of his shoulder and neck, and her warm soft breaths hitting his bare skin, making goosebumps pimple, he freaked out. 1, because friends did NOT cuddle like this, and 2, the close contact was making his chest clench and his lower abdomen heat up.
He let out a shaky breath and thanked his lucky stars Y/N was a deep sleeper, and slowly slid out from under her, ignoring how his arms were wrapped around her and his hands were touching her bare skin where her shirt (his shirt really, and that just made it about a billion times worse) had ridden up in the night. As he was pulling his torso from her body after getting his legs out, she let out a whine and her grip on his back tightened.
His heart beat wildly fast, so fast he wouldn’t be surprised if he looked down and saw it moving through his skin, and he stilled, terrified that she was awake. A few minutes went by, and she didn’t stir anymore, so after chalking her movements up to a dreaming Y/N, he moved a hand and gently took her soft hand off of his bare skin, letting out a breath he didn’t know he’d been holding.
Finally he’s out of bed, and slipping on the clothes he wore the night before, folding the sweats he borrowed and putting them back in her suitcase.  He grabs his phone off the other side table Y/N never used and reaches her door, making the terrible mistake of looking back. Y/N’s face is smushed into the pillow he put under her head, her lips sightly open as she slept and her arms now curled around the pillow Harry had used last night, and he would swear on his mum’s life that she was breathing in his scent if not for the fact that he was certain she didn’t like him the way he liked her, and he didn’t want to barter his mum’s life on something so uncertain.
His chest clenched for what felt like the billionth time this morning and even if he didn’t know it then, he had already decided that he couldn’t handle this anymore, whatever this was, and began to push the sleeping girl out of his mind and heart, in order to save himself from future heartbreak.

When Y/N woke up, her bed was empty, and she had never felt akin to a bed until that morning.

The last time Harry really spoke to Y/N was the night he slept over.
It had been a little over a month since then, and she was trying really hard not to let it get to her, but seeing as Harry interacted just fine with everyone else, and his problem seemed to be with just Y/N, she couldn’t help the nagging feeling that she had somehow scared him off.
A week after he slept over, the only times he spoke to her were for performances and work-related things, and her mind had been swarming with questions. Did she say something about him, or to him while she was sleeping? Sure, she had a dream about him, but it wasn’t anything dirty (although that had happened a few times before), they were just at a carnival and there was a ride in which they got to fly, it was quite fun. Did she cuddle him too much? Sure she could be really touchy when she’s tired, but so can Harry if his wandering hands (only in appropriate places) when they had movie nights were anything to go by.
So her questions went unanswered, and her attempts to speak with him were fruitfully ignored, whether that be he pretends he didn’t hear her the first time, or if he excuses himself before answering because he had to talk to someone about something.
Everyone else in the band noticed, and Y/N didn’t know it, but everyone at tried to talk to Harry about it at least once. Adam mentioned how Y/N and Harry seemed to have drifted apart and Harry only hummed in agreement, making it obvious he didn’t want to talk about it. Charlotte had asked Harry if he was doing okay, to which he responded “Of course I am, why wouldn’t I be?” And she didn’t feel like it was her place to tell him that Y/N had come to her crying about Harry’s actions, or lack thereof, towards her and she didn’t know what was wrong. Sarah was blunt with Harry, telling him how it was obvious Y/N and him weren’t speaking and asking what had happened to which Harry shrugged it off and told her that “people grow apart”, and it wasn’t anything personal.  Mitch had tried to the same, to no avail, despite being even more blunt than everyone else.
And that led them here, 15 minutes before Harry’s second, and last night in L.A. on his tour before they head to New York. He was quite looking forward to it, excited to see the few friends who couldn’t make it the night before. It was easy, going out with people after the performance, not having to think about Y/N as he drinks the night away.
He looked in the mirror in front of him, patting the invisible dust off of his pearl adorned blazer and pants, the wife-beater under his coat so thin his tattoos could be traced. Usually after he was dressed he would pop into the band’s dressing room just to shake off the nerves beforehand, but he stopped doing that after he began to push himself away from Y/N. There would be no where else to sit but next to her, and that didn’t help his overwhelming need to hold her.  So instead, he made his way to the couch in his room, relaxing for the few minutes he had.
Y/N on the other hand was sitting in the dressing room with Sarah, Mitch, Charlotte, and Adam, all conversing about how ready they were, the energy in L.A. the night before had been off the charts, and they were more than excited to feel it again. All Y/N could think about, however, was that this just meant there was one more show to play, then tour would be over, and there would be no more reason to be in Harry’s band. Not when he clearly didn’t want to be friends with her anymore, and she thinks this is the worst she’s ever felt in a long, long time.
。:°ஐ
The first part of the show goes really well. Harry is hyping up the audience, and everyone is smiling. “She” was the next song they were to play after Harry stopped interacting with the audience and Y/N was excited. It was one of her favorite songs to play, and she loved just stopping and listening when Mitch did his solo. He usually did the more detailed guitar work, while Y/N worked with the backing chords.
“Alright, the next song we’ll be playing is “She”, let’s make sure not to get Mitch’s ego too high afterwards though.” Harry had laughed into the mic, walking back to the stand and clicking the mic into place. Then, it began. It was good, it really was, until Y/N noticed that Harry had faltered a bit in the chorus, and her eyes followed his own to the blonde hair in the VIP section. It was her, Camille, the muse behind this entire album.  Her heart stuttered as she noticed he couldn’t take his eyes off of her. She was gorgeous, prettier than all of the pictures she’s seen.
And Harry was looking only at her in the crowd.  It was then, that Y/N started to go a bit haywire. He began to sing the chorus, and she guesses her fingers held the pick a bit tighter, and strummed bit harder, because after 10 seconds of playing she realized she could no longer hear his voice. Almost immediately did she soften the strumming and look up to see Harry turn to face her, confusion and anger, maybe, written all across his face.  She ignores it and continues to play until the song is over. She’s not listening when the crowd cheers, but she regrets tuning in when Harry introduces the next song on the set list, how he says that it’s possibly one of his favorites, and meet’s his ex’s eyes when he starts to play Cherry.
It’s then that Y/N breaks. She keeps her eyes down, and her strumming quiet, just incase she falters (which she does about 2 times), and when her mouth moves up to sing the backing vocals she realizes that her eyes are welling up and her throat is closing in.  She closes her mouth and continues to play the guitar, missing Harry’s look back at her, and the rest of the band’s attempt to conceal the fact that she had stopped singing in the middle of the verse.
The rest of the show goes on, and her tears are held back when they all wave goodbye, and when they rush offstage, and when Harry’s hand brushes her arm that she’s sure was a mistake (it wasn’t), and they continue to be held back until she bursts into the unisex restroom just a mere 20 feet away from the dressing rooms. She locks herself in a stall and sits on the closed toilet seat, shaking hands covering her face as she chokes on her sobs, knowing she would never be enough for Harry, thinking about how he want’s nothing to do with her, and how big of a mistake she made going on tour with them, because if she didn’t, then she wouldn’t have fallen in love with Harry, and she wouldn’t be feeling this way.
What feels like hours, but was actually just 15 minutes of her crying all the tears she could cry, she decided it was better to mope in her own hotel room rather than in a public place where anyone could walk in. She steps out of the stall and doesn’t bother looking in the mirror, only washes her hands, then rinses her face, patting it dry with a cheap brown paper towel. She crumples it up and tosses it in the trashcan, walking out of the restroom to see Harry outside of his dressing room, his arms wrapped around Camille in an intimate embrace.
Intruding would be a good word to describe how she felt right then, and quickly did she speed walk the other way, trying not to let any more tears fall as she opens the door to the bands dressing room to see Sarah and Mitch packing up her things. One look at her was all it took to break the dam that held her tears, and she covered her mouth with her hand, her head falling down and her other arm wrapping around her stomach, maybe it would make things better.
Sarah quickly hands Mitch Y/N’s bag that held her sweats, sweatshirt, purse, and phone she brought to the venue, and takes the girl into a much needed embrace. She cried into Sarahs chest for a bit, snotty apologies from Y/N that Sarah waved off, insisting it was okay, and that she would be okay.
After calming her down a bit and receiving a hug from Mitch, she takes her bag and walks into one of the privacy divider boxes, changing into the clothes she would wear tomorrow on the flight, and tonight to sleep in. Mitch and Sarah lead her out of the venue with all of their arms locked, and bring her to the car, the hotel, and lastly her room.
“We’re right next door, if you need anything. Are you sure you don’t want us to stay?” Sarah asked, biting her lip in anxiousness. Y/N shook her head, her puffy eyes hurting from the movement. “No, I’m gonna be okay. Thank you- um, can-can you not tell anyone? I just-”
“Of course we won’t tell anyone,” Mitch interrupts her, making sure she won’t start crying again, because if there’s something he wants least, it’s to see her cry. “We’ll see you tomorrow morning, okay?”
Y/N nods, and they all hug and part with declarations of love and goodnight’s.

Harry just arrived at the hotel after a quick late dinner with Camille at her flat, catching up and eating some really good Chinese take-out. It was always good seeing her, they weren’t super close anymore of course, she had a new boyfriend now, he was there too actually, a really fine lad that he thinks Camille deserves, but he enjoyed getting to see her with no bad-blood.
So the night was going good, other than Y/N’s weird guitar mishap and her faltering voice during the show, that he couldn’t stop thinking about.
Well, it was going good, until Mitch called him after Harry sent him a text talking about how he was back at the hotel, and told him that he was really stupid. Told Harry that Y/N seemed really hurt earlier, and how he thinks that Harry ignoring her caught up to her. Of course, Mitch knew it was partially untrue, but to remain loyal to Y/N he couldn’t tell Harry why she was so upset, and exactly how upset Y/N really was.
Upon hearing this, Harry’s mood deflated and he rushed to Y/N’s hotel room, knocking a few times with a soft “It’s me, Harry.” through the door. Y/N heard it, but there was no way in hell she would open the door for him, so she feigned sleep and hoped he wouldn’t attempt to wake her up. “Are you awake, love?” No answer. “Pet?” No answer. “Okay, well, I just wanted to talk to you, um, but we can do that tomorrow, I-um, I’m sorry.”
He left, after that, leaving her to curl up in her covers alone, tears leaking from her eyes.
The next morning was anything but fun, they were to wake up at 6 and catch the 7:30 AM flight from L.A. to New York.  Of course, everyone one in the band and a few others got first class, while the rest of the crew rode on Harry’s rented private jet, to hold all the equipment that wasn’t provided at the venue.
So this meant that Y/N and Harry would have to be stuck in the same cabin of a plane together for about 5 and a half hours. Luckily they weren’t designated to sit next to each other, but Harry had other plans.
He switched tickets with a hesitant Charlotte and got the aisle seat, where Y/N would have the window seat. He got on first, and got settled in,  biting his lip in nerves, he wasn’t really sure how he would be able to explain away all of his actions to her, but he knew that he had to, he didn’t want to loose Y/N.
Y/N stepped onto the plane, flashing a fake smile at the flight attendant who obviously noticed her puffy eyes and frowning face. Her eyes darted from the row number and seat letter to the ones on the top of the cabin, and when she found the matching pair of seats, there he was, in all his sweatpants-sweatshirt covered glory.
Her mouth opened to tell him she didn’t want to sit next to him, but when he looked up at her with a soft smile, all she could do was close her lips and sigh, squeezing past him to plop down in the seat with the window.
He didn’t try to speak to her, and she did the same, but he really wanted to. Wanted to ask her how she was, what she had been doing when they stopped talking (or when he stopped talking to her), if her Mom was still working at the job she wanted to quit or if she finally did it, if she still wanted to get a cat when tour was over, but he just couldn’t.
He had no idea where to even start, does he talk to her, then hope the conversation will lead to a place where he can apologize, or does he just apologize straight up, but have no explanation as to why he hurt her in the first place.
The internal battle lasted until they landed, when they got off the plane, traveled to the hotel, and when they went to their respective suites.
Y/N considered herself lucky that Harry had decided to not speak to her on the flight. That wouldn’t have given her an option to opt out of the conversation, and she knew he was smarter than that.  She didn’t know however, that when she opened the door to her hotel room after a hasty knock, expecting another member of the band, that Harry would be standing in front of it, his eyes widened in anxiety.
“Wh-”
“I’m sorry,” he blurted out, interrupting her and walking past her into her room that she hadn’t invited him into. “I’m so sorry for ignoring you, and-and not talking to you when you tried to talk to me. You didn’t deserve it, I’m sorry.”
Her brows raised in surprise and she shut the door behind him, staying near the entrance.  As her mouth opened to accept the apology, her mind raced through how she had been feeling the past month and instead she said, “It’s been a fucking month Harry, I-I thought everything was fine, and then one day you just decided to cut me out?”
“I know,” He stepped closer to her, guilt rushing through him. “I know, it was stupid of me, and I shouldn’t have, but I didn’t even know what to say. You wouldn’t even look at me on the flight and I-“
He was interrupted by her walking up and pushing her finger against his chest. “I wouldn’t talk to you?” She scoffed, tears brimming her eyes. “I-what did you expect after you pushed me away for a month, no warning, no reason-”
“Of course I had a reason!” Harry raised his voice, eyes watery as well.  “I fucking love you! That’s why, and-and we were getting too close than friends should, and I couldn’t handle not being with you.”
Silence.
“Fuck, Y/N I’m so sorry-mmph!”
His apology was silenced by her lips on his, and his eyes widened as he realized what was happening.  They fluttered closed, and his arms wrapped around her torso, while her hands were placed on his cheeks and wowthiswasreallyhappeningandhewasn’tdreamingwashedreamingnohewasn’t-
Y/N pulled away with a deep breath in and laughed a bit, her forehead resting against his. “If you didn’t catch on with that, I love you too.”
Harry laughed and cheekily grinned, pulling her even closer than she was before. “Really? I’m not sure I got it, can you help me understand a bit more?”
She swatted his chest and kissed him once more. “Cheeky bastard.”

May 9th, 2021
Boston was moving from chilly too warm with still more cold days than not. Boston at this time was beautiful even The Evans home was littered with flowers. The beginning of 2021 has been eventful for the Evans Family.
Chris's A Starting Point has taken off like no one had expected, doing incredible number in educating a whole generation on one of Chris’s passions politics and the world.
While Maya within the few months has launched her skincare line Lavish Lilah Skin, and has been able to open back up her dermatology offices with the slowing down of the current devastating pandemic.
This Mothers Day for the family of 3 was different but the same at the same time.
Maya's Birthday has just passed, Chris filming schedule will pick up in the Summer and for the last year Delilah has been homeschooled.
With work picking up for the couple May 9th was a beautiful day for the Evans to just relax and be together as a family.
Its 9 am and Maya was sprawled in the middle of their California King Bed as Chris and Delilah were in the downstairs getting Maya's Mothers Day Gift ready.
"Ok Lilah you've got mommy's gifts and I've got the food you ready?" Chris asked with the tray in his hand.
Delilah nodded and they headed up the steps to the master bedroom the 5 year old ran up too the room first leaving Chris in her dust.
"Mom wake up its Mommy Day" Delilah said trying to climb the large bed.
Maya began to stir awake with a smirk on her face when she heard her baby girl struggle to to get up on the bed.
Delilah hooped on the outerman at the front of the bed and climbed to her mom laying up on Chris's said of the bed.
Delilah began to play with Maya's face.
"mommy get up me and daddy have gifs" Delilah said trying to open Maya's eyes with her little fingers.
Maya breaks out into a laugh now completely awake and pulling Delilah into a big hug kissing her all over the face.
When Chris walked in his two favorite girls were both laughing their heads off the sunlight in the room glowed on their golden skin as their smiling faces brought a bright smile to his.
"Are you two having fun without me" Chris asked as he walked to Maya's side of the bed.
Chris lays the tray on the night stand, pecking Maya on the lips mumbling a sweet Happy Mothers Day against her lips as he pulls her into a deeper kiss just enjoying the taste of her sinful lips.
When they pull away Maya moves over to make room for Chris in their large bed.
Delilah and Chris handed over the gifts to Maya, it wasn't a lot just some small things a card made by Maya from her zoom arts class, a mini breakfast in bed and more flowers *like she needed anymore*.
"Sweetheart I told you that you didn't have to do anything for me for Mothers Day especially everything you have done for me recently" Maya said taking sip from her coffee mug.
Chris chuckles thinking about the last few months, and he has been what you would call a rockstar husband.
With the pandemic Chris has been home a lot more he dropped a film he planned to star in and went full throttle on ASP which kept him home a lot making him kind of a stay home dad.
Chris did everything from some cooking to cleaning to school with Delilah. Him staying home was not only for him to do ASP and spend more time with his family but to let Maya work and bring her employess back so she can get her dermotobly practice back to as close to 100% as she can during a pandemic.
Not only that Chris hosted a surprise launch party/brithday party for Maya's new skincare venture in early April that was a small get together with all there closest friends and family (that were vaccinated). Even flying her parents who they haven’t seen in a year out to see them. (who were still in town and staying out in their guest home)
The three were still sitting in bed watching cartoons.
"My love if you thought today would go by and I would not celebrate you then you are out of your mind" Chris said kissing Maya's head.
The last four months have really shown Chris how much he admires Maya because everything he has been doing is what Maya has been doing since Dede was born.
So at least for today Chris was pulling out the red carpet for love of his life, after an hour of just lazying around Chris grabbed a now napping Delilah and told maya that she need to be dressed and ready to leave the house by 1pm which was 2 hours from the current time.
When 1pm hit the Evans and the Alonsos were out of the house and all in Maya's Truck.
They drove the 3 hours to the Alonso Family Estate in Martha's Vineyard and with Maya having absolutely no idea where they were going she grew antsy because unbeknownst to everyone in the car except her mother Maya was now Pregnant with her and Chris's second child and she was afraid she was going to have an accident in the car.
Maya was about 16 weeks how she has hide being pregnant from Chris for that long is a surprise and a miracle on its own.
However she just wanted to wait until she was absolutly sure that she could carry a complete trimester before telling anyone but her mom because her and Chris have tried 5 times after Delilah and has miscarred everytime.
All that faliure takes a toll not only on your body but on your psyche and she didn’t want to keep getting Chris's hopes up to keep failing him.
Even though he has been there through it all to hold her when she cries thinking about it or pick her up from the pool of blood in the middle of the night he was there holding her hand, but the of how many more times will he be able to do this with her still creeps in the back of Maya's mind.
Her mom's reassuring smile kept her calm while Chris and Maya held hands the entire ride up as they rolled up around 5pm to the estate that had multiply cars in the driveway.
When they walked in Maya's Brothers were both there along with Chris's parents, siblings and their kids.
Chris explained to Maya that with the kids out of school they all decided to being summer vacation a bit early.
As the night went on the all talked, laughed, ate good food and enjoyed each others company as one huge blended family.
It was coming up around 7pm it was golden hour outside and Maya knew for some reason it was time to tell Chris.
As Maya walked outside closet to the horses her mom followed.
"May baby cakes its time you can't live in fear forever" handing the ultrasound she kept in her purse and walking back into the house Maya took a deep breath as she sipped on her water and looked at sun hint the vinyard in the most majestic way.
"Maya you ok your mom wanted me to come and check in on you" Chris asked walking next to Maya who bit her lip which she did whenever she was nervous.
"Babe whats wrong" Chris knew something wasn't right the her body langague was and Chris could read his wife.
Maya tightly gripped the ultrasoud and turned toward Chris looking into his ocean blue eyes made her weak at the knees but she needed to focus.
She handed him the photo
"For the last 16 weeks or so I haven't found a way to tell that we are pregant and I guess this is it I am sorry I waited so long" Maya Says.
She smirks trying to keep it light hearted and Chris Smiles not even taking enough time to really process the new information with tears in his eye picking up Maya who squeals as he spins her around.
"I hope you know I knew already” he says putting her down leaving his arms around her waist.
"What do you mean you knew" Maya asked as her eyebrows frowned as she looked up at him.
"You underestimate how well I know your body" Chris says rubbing his hands up and down the curves of her body till her reached her ass giving it a good squeeze.
"Also you definitely did not hide this ultrasound that well so when I did first have hunch you had already confirmed it to me without even knowing it" Chris said.
He gave Maya his trademark smile and kissed his wife like his life depended on it.
"why didn’t you tell me you knew" she asked breaking the sweet embrace of the two lovers.
"the same reason you didn't I know that with you even though I hate it, some times I need to just watch from the sideline before you can put me in coach, but next time please do wait this long" Chris said.
Maya eyebrow raised "who said there will be a next time you better be lucky you are even getting 2 out of me sir" she said.
Chris laughs "thats what your mouth is saying now we will see what it says later when you riding papi's cock" He said kissing her lips even harder as they fought for domanice.
They knew both of there families were inside and thats why they stopped and just stood enjoying each others company.
"lets take a picture babe for memories" Chris said.
They pulled apart and Maya laughed .
"Chris look at you trying to take flicks for the gram" Maya said posing next to her favorite horse.
Chris took the picture and put it on his instagram along with a picture of Maya when she was pregnant with Delilah.

Anyways, happy holidays, thank you all for the love and support! Check out my masterlist! {***}{***}{***}
Last Christmas:
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, as the song would say. The lights on the trees and houses around were beautiful. The downtown was always decked out with bizarre lights and statues, as well as people in full 18th-century garb. Loved ones gathering to celebrate the holidays with their friends and family.
I didn’t know anyone who loved Christmas more than myself. Everyone who knew me, knew that Christmas was my favorite holiday. I tried my hardest to live my best stereotypical Christmas movie life. I’m pretty sure my boyfriend hated it… So, I guess it’s a good thing that all my friends and co-workers loved it.
“I don’t exactly understand why we have to go to this party,” Jasper looked down at me with a mild annoyance. I smiled before knocking firm on the door. A quick glance at him told him to be quiet.
“We went to your work party, so it’s only fair we go to mine,” I looked back at the door. A moment later, the door flew open and there stood David Rossi with his wife, Krystall, beside him. “David, Krystall,” I smiled as I pulled my hand from Jasper to hug the couple. “Merry Christmas,” I hummed happily once we parted. I turned to Jasper and took the bottle of wine to give to them.
“And to you. Please, come in. Reid, Penelope, and Emily are all here.” David graciously took the wine from me and invited us in. I grasped Jasper’s hand once again and pulled him inside.
“Do you need help with anything?” I looked towards David as I took my jacket off. Krystall took it and brought it to a spare room, where I would assume all the other jackets were kept.
“We’re almost done. Just get yourself a drink and relax,” he smiled and hugged me one last time. I looked up at Jasper and led him to the living room where Spencer, Penelope, and Emily were. I only knew they were there because I could hear their laughter and lively conversations.
“C’mon, we don’t have to stay for too long,” I looked up at him with a smile. He nodded before pecking my lips, “I promise,” I smiled as I stared at him.
“Yeah, okay,” he nodded as he glanced at my friends, “I’m gonna run to the bathroom real quick, I’ll be right back,” he whispered before pressing a kiss to my lips. I smiled and watched as he walked away. Once he was around the corner, I walked over to the living room.
“Hey you,” Emily looked up at me as I sat next to Spencer, “How are you?” she smiled. I looked at Spencer and smiled.
“I’m good. Jasper’s nieces and nephews woke us up at like 5 in the morning… And we were up late wrapping their presents,” I laughed and shook my head, “But it was exciting watching them rip through everything,” I added and nodded.
“Sounds Henry and Michael,” Spencer dryly laughed as he looked over at me.
“Or was it because they got to see their Uncle Spencer?” I asked, raising an eyebrow. Spencer looked away from me and smiled, a small blush rising on his cheeks. “I’d get that excited too if I saw you first thing in the morning,” I smiled.
“Could you be any cuter, I swear,” Penelope looked between Spencer and I. I looked at her and raised an eyebrow.
“And on that note, I’m going to the bathroom real quick,” Spencer looked at me before standing up.
“Oh, Jasper’s in there right now, so it could be a minute,” I looked up at him as he started to walk away. “Or you could find one of the other many bathrooms Rossi has,” I smiled at him.
“Yeah, yeah,” Spencer waved me off before he walked away. I watched as he walked around the corner, leaving it to be just me, Emily, and Penelope.
“How was your guys’ morning?” I looked back at them with a smile. Emily looked at Penelope before looking at me. The smile she wore made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
“It was good. It was pretty lazy. Just Andrew and I,” Emily nodded before taking a sip of her wine. I nodded and watched her sip. “He said he’d be joining us, but he’ll be a little late,” she added once she put her glass down.
“Oh good! I’d love to see good ole Mendoza,” I laughed. Emily looked at me and raised an eyebrow. “What? Andrew is a great guy,” I shrugged.
“Well, I had a great Christmas! I got to see my Chocolate Thunder and his spawn and Queen,” Penelope cut in before either of us could further a comment.
“How is Morgan? I wish I got to see him more,” I frowned as I looked over at Penelope. Jasper stepped back in, and Spencer was right in tow. Spencer returned to his seat beside me and Jasper on the other side. There was a certain tension in the room now that those two stepped in.  I knew those two always butted heads, but they tried to get along for me. But at the same time, I hated when they were around each other. There was always something for them to fight about. And, most of the time it was nothing.
“Uh, well,” Penelope started after a moment of very awkward silence. I looked at her and swallowed the lump in my throat. “Derek’s great! Hank’s great! I swear I could just eat him up,” her voice was high pitched as she lifted her hands like she was pinching an imaginary person’s cheeks.
“Derek or Hank?” Emily looked at Penelope with a raised eyebrow. I wanted to listen into the conversation. But it was so hard when I had two bags of testosterone sitting beside me.
“Are you okay,” I looked over at Jasper and whispered. He tensed as I grasped his hand. He looked at me and smiled lightly.
“Yeah, yeah, work called,” he nodded and looked down at me. I furrowed my eyebrows before pouting. I furrowed my eyebrows before pouting. I could hear Spencer’s scowl from behind me. I wanted to turn back and tell him off, but I refrained.
“But it’s Christmas,” I whispered.
“Don’t worry. It was an easy fix, over the phone,” he smiled before pecking my lips.
After several minutes of banter with everyone, Jennifer and Will, Matt and Kristy, and Luke arrived, all with various bags or boxes. I instantly got up to help someone or everyone, or anyone who wanted my help (and that happened to be Luke).
“Merry Christmas,” Jennifer smiled as she embraced me. I squeezed her tight before muttering the words back to her. She looked at me and raised an eyebrow, a little bit of concern in her eyes. “Did you have a good day,”
“Of course I did,” I smiled as I looked at her. I sighed deeply before looking over my shoulder at Spencer and Jasper. They were talking to each other and I honestly couldn’t tell if the conversation was a good conversation or not. I was just worried that Jasper and I would be leaving early and having an argument on the way home.
“Your boys fighting?” Jennifer asked as she followed my gaze to the two men.
“Honestly, with those two? I never know. I just wish for Christmas they wouldn’t fight,” I rolled my eyes. Jennifer laughed lightly as she looked back at me.
“I’m sure they’ll get along, someday,” she reassured. I looked back at her, dropping my shoulders. “And, for now, don’t worry about it,” she hummed once she saw my disappointment.
“Anyways, Penelope saw Chocolate Thunder for Christmas,” I looked over at Penelope and smiled. She looked back at me with a childlike excitement once I talked about her forbidden love.
“Oh? Really? I would love to hear more about that trip,” Jennifer looked over at the people sitting in the living room. I smiled as I watched Penelope recount her trip to the others.
“Wine,” David appeared beside me with a glass of wine. I smiled before graciously taking it from him.
{***}{***}{***}
I was happy to see that Jasper seemed to join in on the conversations with everyone, instead of sitting and wallowing in whatever emotion he was in. But I knew something was going on, because I could feel a certain annoyance or nervousness coming from him. Being on a team with a bunch of FBI profilers really helps to tell when something is wrong.
I smiled at Spencer and Jennifer before silently excusing myself to sit beside Jasper. Even though I couldn’t see him, I could feel Spencer’s eyes watching me. No matter what the situation was, he was always protective of me. He was my best friend, so I shouldn’t be too worried. He was more protective over me when it came to Jasper, too. He hated Jasper.
“Is everything okay,” I asked as I sat beside him on the couch. He turned to face me more and grasped both my hands. A certain worry was in his eye, which made me worry. “Is everything okay,” I looked at him, trying to push away all my anxieties.
“I just wasn’t sure if I would get the chance to ask you a question,” his voice was low. I furrowed my eyebrows as he pulled his hands from mine. I watched as he stood up in front of me. He cleared his throat, getting the attention of everyone else in the room. The room went silent as everyone turned to look at Jasper and I (but mostly Jasper). “Can I have everyone’s attention for just a moment,” he spoked, shoving his hands in his pockets.
Once he was certain he had the floor and everyone’s attention, more specifically mine, he looked back at me. He had a certain gleam in his eye that made me feel happy, and the exact opposite of nervous and worried.
“You’re the only person I’ve ever loved. There is no one I would rather spend my entire life with than you,” his words were smooth like butter and he was as relaxed as ever. He slowly lowered to the ground, kneeling on one knee. I brought my hands to my lips as I gasped. The girls around me were instantly squealing from excitement and the guys were stunned into silence. Spencer just glared from his seat across the room. “Will you marry me?” Jasper asked as he pulled his hand from his pocket. A black velvet box was in his hands, and inside was a diamond ring. I widened my eyes and felt the breath escape my lungs.
The room fell silent with his proposal. Everyone’s eyes fell on us, and I could feel the cold and mildly judgemental stare from Spencer. Of course, I wanted to say yes. I loved Jasper. And, no one could make me feel otherwise.
“Of course I’ll marry you, you fool,” I smiled at him as slid to the edge of the couch. A series of applause came from everyone as Jasper slid the ring on my finger. I rested my hands on his cheeks before pulling him into a kiss.
“Well, I think it’s time to pop open a bottle of champagne,” David spoke in a cheery tone before standing. I looked up at him with a smile and watched as he walked towards the kitchen. I looked back at Jasper before kissing him once again.
“I’m going to see if he needs any help,” Spencer spoke cooly before leaving. I looked at him, watching as he left. I looked over at Jennifer with a raised eyebrow, silently asking her to go see what’s wrong. She nodded before chasing after Spencer.

“Again, congratulations,” Krystall smiled as she hugged me. I returned the hug. As I pulled away, she grasped my hand. “Merry Christmas,” she looked up at me. I smiled before turning to David.
“Thank you guys so much. I’ll see you on Monday,” I looked at the couple again before turning to leave. Jasper had already gone out to the care to start it, seeing as it was very cold out.
“I’ll walk you out,” Spencer spoke up from behind David and Krystall. I looked past the couple at Spencer. He was already wearing his jacket and scarf. He wanted to leave the second Jasper proposed.
“Yeah, of course,” I smiled and nodded. Spencer gave his pardons to David and Krystall before we finally stepped outside.
“Did you have a good Christmas, Spence,” I looked up at him as we walked down the sidewalk. He kept his eyes low on the ground as we walked, and the silence he gave me was nearly deafening. I glanced at him, half worried because he’s never ever this quiet. Even when a sour police officer was getting annoyed or fed up with him, he wouldn’t even shut up.
“Yeah, yeah, spent it with my mom and JJ’s family,” he nodded as he kept his eyes low. I smiled and nodded. “What about you,” he finally looked over at me.
“Yeah, yep… Spent it with Jasper and his family and friends,” I nodded as I shoved my hands into my pocket.
“Not yours?” Spencer stopped walking. He grabbed my wrist, causing me to stop. I turned around and looked up at him. “I mean, it’s not very fair that he forced you to spend the holidays with his friends and family, and he looked like he wanted to jump off a bridge the whole time you were here… And you weren’t even here that long,”
“Spencer!” I looked up at him as I exclaimed. I stared at him with wide eyes. “What the hell is going on with you?” I dropped my shoulders as I looked at him.
“I’m just speaking the truth,” Spencer shrugged before he put his hands in his pockets. I shook my head and let out a laugh of disbelief.
“I gotta go,” I shook my head before turning to leave. I could hear Spencer muttering something to himself as I turned, and I just knew he had more to say.
“He doesn’t even love you!” Spencer shouted as I walked towards the car. I froze, staring at the window and Jasper sitting inside. I’m sure he could hear my argument with my best friend.  My heart was in my throat and I could feel myself starting to get sick. My head started to get a little woozy. “I’ve seen the way he’s looked at you and talked to you! And, he doesn’t…”
“Spencer,” I turned around to look at him, feeling the irritation growing in my head and my heart. He was looking at me, face filled with fury. The expression on his face told me he was telling the truth, but also Spencer would never lie to me.
His eyes grew watery as he stared at me, and I knew the next thing he would say would probably break my heart. He was already telling the truth, a truth that I didn’t want to believe.
“Please don’t marry him,” his voice lowered as he spoke. And I swear I heard it crack. I swallowed roughly as I looked at him. “He was constantly talking to someone tonight, texting someone. I heard him on the phone with someone when I left the bathroom, and I know it wasn’t work,”
“Stop,” I looked at him, trying to get him to stop talking before he said anything more that would embarrass the both of us. “Goodnight, Spencer. I’ll see you Monday,” I nodded at him before slipping into the car.
“Ready?” Jasper asked, looking over at me as he grasped my hand. I looked over at him with a smile before nodding.
“Yeah,” I whispered before looking back out the window at Spencer. He was still standing on the sidewalk, staring at me. He wore a very hurt expression on his face, and I swear a tear was rolling down his cheek. And before anything could happen, Jasper started the car and pulled away from David’s house and my best friend.

“Have a nice day,” I looked up at Jasper as he slipped from the bed. He pressed his lips to my forehead, wishing me a good day, before leaving to get ready for the day. I was only asleep for a few minutes before my alarm went off, forcing me to get out of bed and get on with my day. And, although I still had a few more days left of no work, I still had my plate full of errands and chores.
Once my day finally started, I made way towards the dry cleaners. I had to pick up a couple of my blouses and a few slacks. Work had wrinkled and nearly ruined a few of my clothes, and the only place that could fix them was the dry cleaners. After the dry cleaners, I had to get a few groceries, seeing as all we had was some leftovers from Jasper’s parents’ place.
My phone started ringing, almost shocking me because I wasn’t expecting anyone to call me today. But I was more relieved when I saw that it was Jennifer calling.
“Hey, have you talked to Spence?” Jennifer asked as I pressed my phone between my head and shoulder. I furrowed my eyebrows as I readjusted the grip on the bags in hand.
“No, not since last night. We kind of had an argument before I left,” I muttered as I grabbed my phone. The memories of the argument with Spencer came back, and I tried my hardest not to recount them. I looked up at the sidewalk and people ahead of me and saw Jasper. He wasn’t alone though. Another woman was in his arms.
“Are you even listening to me?” Jennifer spoke, her tone mildly annoyed that I wasn’t answering any of her questions or acknowledging anything she was saying.
“I’m… I gotta go. I’m sorry,” I muttered before hanging up and shoving my phone in my pocket. I looked at Jasper and the woman and watched as he deeply kissed her.
I took a deep shaky breath before rushing back to my car. I didn’t even care about my fresh dry cleaning as I shoved it into the back. Tears were slowly rolling down my cheeks, and I wasn’t sure if there was a way I could stop them.
Not wanting to go home, the place that I would be reminded of him, I drove around, trying to figure where to go. Until I found myself standing outside Spencer’s apartment. I wasn’t exactly sure if I had knocked until the door swung open and Spencer was standing in front of me.
“Wh-what are you-Wait, is everything okay?” he asked, reaching a hand out to grasp my arm. I swallowed roughly and allowed him to hold my arm, and then my hand.
"I'm sorry… I didn't know where else to go. I didn’t want to go home because he’s there. And I just didn’t want to be around him,” I looked at Spencer with moisture in my eyes. He looked back at me with confusion settling on his face as he stared.
“What… What happened? What’s wrong?” He asked as he stepped out of his apartment and rested his hands on my shoulders. I looked up at him before allowing myself to fully break down. Spencer widened his eyes before pulling me into a hug. I pressed my face into his chest and sobbed.
“He cheated on me!” I exclaimed after a moment of crying. Spencer backed away from me to get a better look at me. “I was out doing errands… And I saw him…” I took a deep breath and wiped my eyes. Spencer looked at me as he slowly realized what I had said. I could tell he didn’t really know what to do, so he just hugged me again before pulling me inside.
“Sit, I’ll get you… I’ll get you tea. You like tea.” Spencer looked at me as he sat me on the couch. I looked up at him before wiping my cheeks. “Yeah, I’ll make you tea,” he nodded before leaving me alone in the living room. I looked towards the direction of his kitchen, listening to the clatter he was making. I could hear him talking to himself, saying stuff about Jasper, and me, and work, and the party last night, and our argument last night. I definitely shouldn’t be hearing him saying these things. It was an obvious thing that should be said to me another time.
“Can I stay here for the night?” I looked up at Spencer as he reentered the living room with a mug of hot water and teabag. He looked at me as he sat beside me. I graciously took the mug from him and put the teabag in it.
“Of course. You didn’t even have to ask,” Spencer looked at me as he grabbed a throw blanket. I sighed deeply as he placed it over my shoulders. “You can stay for as long as you need,” he looked at me as he furrowed his eyebrows.
“Thanks, Spence,” I looked down at the tea and shrugged, “I don’t know what I’m going to do. All my stuff is over there.” I wiped my eyes again. Tears just wouldn’t stop rolling down my cheeks, I was starting to feel a little ridiculous.
“Luke, Matt, and I will go over and bring it here. And you can stay for as long as you want," he insisted. I swallowed roughly before wiping my eyes. I looked up at him, trying to smile but it was rather unconvincing for the both of us. “You know that my place is your place,” he added and returned a genuine smile. His smile made me feel a little bit better and turned my unconvincing smile into something more convincing.
“Thank you, Spencer,” I whispered as I looked down at the cup of tea. The steam coming off it was rather soothing. “I don’t know how I didn’t see it! God. I’m so stupid! I’m sorry I didn’t believe you,” I looked at him, my statement sounding stupid.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay,” he whispered a hand and wiped my cheeks. I could sense that he wanted to say more, because he always as more to say, especially when it’s about proving someone wrong. So, when he stopped at ‘It’s okay’ I was a little confused. “You didn’t want to believe something that should be false. I understand that,” he folded his hands in his lap.
“I just don’t know what I’m going to do,” I looked down at the engagement ring on my finger. I wrinkled my nose before taking it off and chucking it at the coffee table. The ring dinged as it bounced on the hard surface. I muttered a few profanities as I stared at the ring. Spencer looked at me with a raised brow. “I guess that means you’re getting what you wanted… I’m not going to marry him,” I dryly laughed as I looked up at him.
“I didn’t want it like that,” Spencer whispered as he looked back at me. I looked up at him and frowned. “I was being selfish,” he whispered, mostly to himself. I raised an eyebrow before looking down at the ring.
“You’re allowed to be selfish, Spencer,” I mumbled before looking back at him.
“You’re right. But I want to be selfish for the right reasons,” he looked back at me. I swallowed roughly and shook my head. “He doesn't deserve you. And you don't deserve to have your heart broken by some guy,” Spencer muttered. I raised an eyebrow. “We don’t have to talk about it now, though, when you’re ready,” he assured.
I didn’t really want to press why he wanted to wait till I was ready. I was honestly always ready to talk to him, no matter what it was. So, I guess we’ll have to wait till he was good and ready.  Even if that meant a very long time.

New Year’s Eve:
New Year’s Eve was especially difficult. Usually, I love it, just like Christmas. But this time… This time was different. I supposed being cheated on during such a big holiday can do that to you. My spirit for any exciting holiday was simply diminished and gone now.
So, that’s why I was sitting at the kitchen counter in Rossi’s house with my third glass of wine. I was really trying not to wallow in self-pity. But it was so easy when my excitement for the new year was just… gone. The others seemed okay with my sadness. Although, Spencer was the most concerned than anyone else. Everyone was off in the living room, laughing in their conversations. I just wanted to be alone for a moment.
“Hey,” Spencer looked at me as he sat beside me at the counter. I looked up from my drink and at him. A lazy and drunk smile grew on my lips as I looked at him. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m doing great, Spence,” I looked at him as I stood up. He raised an eyebrow as I stumbled a bit. He grasped my arm to steady me a bit. “I’m gonna go outside. I need some fresh air. You stay here,” I patted his chest before leaving.
Spencer allowed me to go outside alone, I was half expecting him to follow me. So, I was happy when I took a seat outside. The air was a little bit chilly and nippy, which was mildly sobering. I kinda wished I had another drink with me.
I heard the back door open and then slam shut, causing me to turn around and look. Spencer was walking towards me with a blanket over his arm. It was only a few minutes since I came out here, he can’t have missed me that much.
“Here, it’s cold,” he offered me the blanket as he sat on the other outdoor chair. I took it and wrapped it around my shoulders like a cape. We sat in an uncomfortable, unnerving silence. I just wished he would say something so we wouldn’t be in the quiet.
“I just needed a few minutes alone. Everyone inside is just a little bit too loud for me,” I shrugged as I looked at the space between us. Spencer’s hum was unconvincing, but I’m sure my excuse was just as unconvincing too. “They’re too happy and I’m, well, not,” I looked up at him.
“I understand,” Spencer nodded, like he knew how I felt. I stared at him, only a little bit annoyed that he said that he understood. “Do you want to talk about it?”
“Spencer, I’ve been living with you for the last week, you already know how I feel,” I looked up at him. The previous few nights I was up most of the night sobbing, mostly because I was heartbroken. It was bad and a little embarrassing because Spencer was the one who took care of me. “Thank you, for that… I do appreciate it,”
“You’re my best friend,” he whispered as he looked at me. A friendly smile grew on his lips as our eyes locked. “I care about you. And, I’d do anything to keep you safe,”
I didn’t really have anything to say, because I knew he meant it. He knew I felt the same way about him. There was a reason why I went to his home instead of Jennifer’s, or Emily’s… And, that reason was because he cared about me and he was my best friend.
I scooched the chair closer to him and threw the blanket over his other shoulder. He looked over at me with a smile and his hair flopped in front of his eyes. I smiled as I brushed the hair away from his face.
We fell back into our comfortable silence. My head was rested on his shoulder as his fingers slowly entwined with mine. I don’t think I was supposed to notice him holding my hand, but I did.
“Can I ask something from you, Spence,” I asked, lifting my head from his shoulder. He looked at me with furrowed eyebrows, like he wasn’t sure if my question was a trick or not.
“Of course,” he nodded and looked at me. I turned to face him more, looking up at his face.
“Kiss me,” I whispered softly. My eyes flicked between his eyes and lips, and it was taking everything within me to not just kiss him. I could easily blame the copious amounts of alcohol I consumed earlier in the evening. Or I could blame the true and exact feelings I had towards Spencer. If I could, I’d wrap them up in a box with a bow and give it to him with a note tag that simply said ‘I love you’, but I wouldn’t. I won’t tell him the real reason why I want him to kiss me. It’s only been a week since my doomed relationship ended. I couldn’t tell him, yet. So I told him a lie. “I’m drunk and heartbroken, Spencer, please just kiss me,” I whispered as I lifted my hand to his tie.
“I, uh, I... “ Spencer mumbled as he glanced towards the house. I knew no one was watching what I was doing out here, and I knew they wouldn’t care about what Spencer was doing. They were all too busy playing various drinking games and too involved with themselves to care. “Is that a good idea? I’m not so sure that’s a good idea,” he muttered as he moved closer to me. And it wasn’t because I was tugging his tie.
“I think it is… I think it’s the greatest idea ever… Why else would I be asking?” I looked up at his eyes before smiling. I dropped my hand from his tie and noted that he wasn’t moving away from me. “Tell me, Spence, would I be a fool if you kissed me?” I looked into his eyes. My reflection was noticeable in his irises and it made me smile knowing I was that close to him.
“You’d never be a fool,” Spencer whispered, his breath tickling the space above my lips. I smiled and nodded.
“I don’t know about you, but I was pretty foolish last week,” I dryly laughed. Spencer furrowed his eyebrows before shaking his head. “Please, kiss me,” I quietly begged.
He placed his hands on my cheeks before pressing his lips to mine. I hummed happily as we kissed. I could barely keep myself up and myself breathing as he gently worked his lips against mine. My heart was beating in my chest, but at the same time, it was fluttering. He was so gentle and soft, like if he went any harder he’d break me. But, I’m already broken. The butterflies I was feeling in my stomach grew and caused a heat to work its way up my cheeks. But it wasn’t just a kiss. It never is just a kiss with people. And, Spencer is more than just a person. A kiss with Jasper just felt like eh, it left me feeling nothing. But a kiss with Spencer left me wanting more. I wanted more of my life with him. It was in the few mere moments we were kissing that I realized I really did love him.
Spencer was the first to move away from me, but only a few inches. Our noses were still touching and our foreheads were still pressed together. I licked my lips and smiled softly.
“That was…” I opened my eyes and looked at him. The smile on my lips grew wider as I looked at him. His eyes scanned my face, looking for any sort of worry or fear I might have had. But I had none. “Amazing,” I whispered as I dropped my shoulders. Spencer visibly relaxed as I finished talking.
“Good,” he laughed softly as he looked back at me.
“Best kiss I’ve ever had,” I whispered with a smile. Spencer returned the smiles he looked at me. “I know you’d fool me if you kissed me again,” I murmured against his lips. Spencer smiled before pressing his lips back to mine. I hummed as I wrapped my arms around his neck to hold him as close as possible. I didn’t want to move from my spot, and I knew Spencer didn’t want to move either. “I’d be okay if you did it again,”
“I love you,” Spencer muttered into my mouth, causing me to freeze in my spot. I kept my eyes closed because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to look at him. “Oh fuck, I shouldn’t have opened my mouth,” he groaned before tilting his head back away from me. I quickly opened my eyes and looked for his face. “Now I’m the fool,” he murmured against my lips. He was clearly embarrassed because I didn’t say anything back. I was mostly shocked because I wasn’t expecting it.
“Don’t say that,” I whispered, bringing my hands to rest gently on his cheeks. He looked at me with furrowed brows, like I was the one who was wrong about our words. “I love you too,” I smiled softly at him. Spencer looked at me, like I was suddenly a light in the darkness. And, I really liked the way it felt when he looked at me like that. “Like, I wished I realized it sooner… And, before I met, you know,” I muttered as I talked about the man who broke my heart a week ago. A look flashed in Spencer’s eyes at the mention of his, I suppose, enemy. I knew he wanted to kill the man. “I’m happy I did realize it though,” I smiled as I looked at him.
“I am too,” he finally said something after a moment of silence. The smile on his lips and in his eyes, and all the previous anger and hatred melted away. “I wish I could have told you sooner,”
“You told me at a perfect time, Spencer,” I whispered before kissing him again. I nearly fell back in a fit of laughter as he tried deepening the kiss, but I was happy he kept me steady.
“Don’t worry, I got you now,” he whispered as he held me close.

This Christmas:
You would have thought that I was going to hate Christmas this year. I mean, considering what happened last year? He basically ruined my week and the whole holiday for me. But it got better, thanks to Spencer.
I looked up at Spencer as I wrapped my arms around his and rested my head on his shoulder. He looked back down at me with a smile before knocking on the door.
“I hope everyone had a good Christmas,” I whispered as I looked at the wreath on David’s door. Krystall must be happy about her decor this year.
“Well, this is the first year neither of us really spent it with anyone else from the team,” Spencer replied as he brought his other hand to rest on my arm. I smiled before nuzzling my head more into his shoulder. “Well, This would be the first year I didn’t spend with JJ and Will,” he spoke again, changing his answer.
“Next year,” I smiled softly as I looked up at him, “Who knows, maybe next year we’ll have our own family,” I smiled smugly. Spencer laughed and shook his head, but the happy gleam in his eyes told me otherwise. Of course he wouldn’t actually verbalize that he wants kids, it’s just been known for years that he wanted them.
“Maybe,” he looked down at me and winked. I rolled my eyes and shook my head lightly. My words were cut off by the front door swinging open. Krystall was standing by the door with a wide smile on her lips. She looked pretty happy to see Spencer and I.
“Merry Christmas, you two,” she smiled as she stepped to the side to allow us in, “Did you have a good morning?” she looked at us as we walked in.
“Wonderful,” I smiled as I looked up at Spencer and smiled. He returned the smile as he unbuttoned his jacket. Of course, we wouldn’t exactly talk about what we did this morning, I’ll just say it was a little NSFW to share with people you work with. And, somethings gotta stay between Spencer and I.
“Is anyone else here?” I looked back at Krystall as I slipped my own jacket off. I don’t really know why I asked if anyone else was here… Spencer and I were the last ones to show up...
“You’re the last ones to arrive,” she smiled at us, “Jennifer and Will brought their boys,” she spoke as childish laughter filled the moment of silence after her words.
“Oh! We were just talking about we didn’t see them this morning,” I looked up at Spencer as I moved closer to him. He carefully wrapped an arm around my waist, holding me closer to him. “I can’t wait to see them,” I smiled as I looked at Spencer. He returned the look with a loving look in his eye.
“Well, I know you two know your way around the house, everyone is in the living room. If you need anything just let us know,” Krystall smiled at us before leaving to put our coats somewhere. Once she was out of our sight, I looked back up at Spencer.
“We should probably go see everyone,” I smiled as I looked towards the kitchen. Spencer gently placed a hand on my cheek, guiding my face to face his. “What,” I whispered as I looked up at him.
“I love you,” he returned the whisper before pressing his lips to mine. I hummed as I melted into his kiss. His hand was firmly placed on my waist and he carefully pulled me closer to his body.
“God, not in Rossi’s house,” a groan came from behind us. I pulled away from Spencer and looked over my shoulder. Emily was standing in the doorway, looking at us as she lifted her glass to her lips.
“What, he was just hugging me,” I smiled at her. Spencer’s hands were still firmly on my me. And, it was very clear that he was not just hugging me. Judging by the expression on Emily’s face, she definitely saw more than she bargained for.
“Sure you were,” she smiled at us, “Spence, David needs you in the kitchen,” she looked at Spencer before pushing herself off the wall and leaving. I pouted and looked up at him.
“It’ll be just a minute. Save me a seat,” he whispered before quickly pecking my lips and swiftly leaving me in the foyar. More laughter came from the living room, causing me to smile. I instantly knew I wanted to join in the laughter and fun with the others, more specifically the two young boys.
When I stepped into the living room, everyone greeted me with a lot of excitement. It felt like they hadn’t seen me in months, but we just saw each other two days ago.
“Hey, Merry Christmas,” I smiled as I looked at everyone. Michael and Henry ran up to me and wrapped their arms around my legs, “Hey you two,” I ruffled my hand in their hair.
“Boys,” Jennifer called from her spot on the couch. I looked up at her and smiled as her two boys let go of me. I smiled before taking a seat at the armchair. “Where’s Spence? Did he come?” Jennifer asked as she watched me sit. Everyone had this weird sort of energy, like they knew something that I didn’t exactly know. I always hated when they did that. They knew that too. Granted, I’m not typically a person who likes surprises or secrets.
“Yeah, he’s helping Dave with something in the kitchen,” I smiled as I looked at her. Michael ran up to me, holding a toy truck he got this morning. “Whoa! That’s such a cool truck, Michael! What else did you get?” I leaned and braced myself on my knees. He was very quiet as he told me what he got, but he was very enthusiastic about everything. When he finished telling me everything he got, he cautiously climbed onto the chair and sat beside me.
“You were supposed to save me a seat,” a voice came from behind me. I looked behind me and saw Spencer, looking down at me with a wide smile. “I’ll just have to sit over here,” he faked a pout before going to sit on the other armchair.
“What can I say, the fellas love me,” I smiled as I watched him sit. As much as I loved sitting with Jennifer’s boys, I really wanted to sit with Spencer. Even from across the living room, he knew that too.
As the night went on, food was eaten, drinks were drunk, presents were exchanged. I still had a 4 year old little boy attached at my hip, and there was no getting rid of him. Don’t get me wrong, I loved him… But, there were things that I wanted to do. Like sit with Spencer, and talk about things other than toys and little kid things…
“Can we talk real quick?” Spencer asked as he squatted beside me and Michael. I looked at him and nodded, feeling my face falter slightly. I looked down at the boy on my knee, silently telling Spencer that my shadow probably won’t leave me alone. Spencer looked over his shoulder at Jennifer, silently telling her something.
“Hey, Michael, c’mere,” Jennifer spoke to her child. Michael looked up at me before hugging me and leaving me alone. I looked back up at Spencer before standing up.
“Privately?” I asked, raising an eyebrow. Spencer swallowed roughly and nodded before grasping my hand and bringing me outside. The door clicked shut behind us as we walked towards the sitting area. I was instantly hugging myself to keep myself somewhat warm, because it was cold and I wasn’t wearing my coat.
“I’ll be quick, I’m sorry,” he cringed, grasping both my hands to hold them. I furrowed my eyebrows as I warily looked at him. The anxiety that I was feeling was through the roof, and I knew he noticed it too.
“Is everything okay,” I whispered as I looked at him. I was worried something was wrong. Why else would he want to talk to me alone? But, something couldn’t have been wrong, because he was smiling and laughing and looked happy.
“I just wanted to talk to you for a second... And without Michael by your side,” Spencer laughed as he looked back at me. I smiled as I looked up at him. “And I wanted to have a moment with you, alone,” he looked over my shoulder at the house. Something flashed in his eyes as he pulled one hand from me and put it in his pocket. “In fact… I wanted eternity with you,” he whispered as he looked at me. I dropped my shoulders as I slowly realized what he meant. “I know Christmas is your favorite, and last Christmas was ruined… But I wanted to make it mean something to you again…”
“Spen-”
“Will you marry me,” he whispered, pulling out a small grey box and opening it up. The ring was a plain silver band with a diamond embedded in the center. I looked at him and smiled. “I know it’s barely been a year… But,”
“I want to spend the rest of my life with you,” we both said it in unison. He looked up at me and smiled, his eyes a little bit moist. Mine were also welling up a little bit.
“Of course I’ll marry you, Spencer,” I whispered looking at him with a smile. He returned the smile before sliding the ring on my finger. I placed my hands on his cheeks before pulling him into a kiss. Cheering and applause came from inside, causing me to laugh against his lips. I looked up at him and smiled. “I love you,” I whispered softly.
“I love you too,” Spencer smiled before kissing me again.
{***}{***}{***}
The following morning Spencer and I were downtown. We didn’t have much to do, so we explored downtown while the holiday decorations were still up. Spencer was actually taking me to an after Christmas movie thing at a black and white theater. Our quiet laughter and conversation made me feel happy. Our conversations were mostly filled with the excitement of our new engagement and future wedding.
That was until I was stopped abruptly as we walked into a familiar man and woman. I stared at him, feeling a certain sickness rise in my stomach. Spencer’s arm went back around me in a protective manner. My body went frigid as I stared at the man and the woman, so I was thankful for Spencer’s embrace.
“Jasper,” I spoke, almost breathlessly. I swallowed roughly as I stared at them. Jasper was quiet for a long time. I knew for a fact he was pretending to not know who I was. But he 100% knew who I was, and who Spencer was.
"I almost didn't recognize you," he laughed as he looked at me. I started back and held back the scoff. "You look so different,"
“Well, it’s been a year, so it doesn’t surprise me,” I looked at him and then at his wife. His pregnant wife. I only knew they were married now because of the ring she was nonchalantly showing off to Spencer and I. I wouldn’t be surprised if she thought I was wallowing in pity for a full year. They’re probably both surprised by seeing me with Spencer, Jasper more than her. I bounced back from our spilt faster than he probably thought.
I ignored them and looked up at Spencer, who was staring at Jasper with such laser precision I swear he’d kill him. But, to be fair, Jasper was staring at Spencer with the same amount of hatred. I knew his wife was clearly uncomfortable with everything that was happening. I was uncomfortable.
“Well, it was nice seeing you again,” Jasper looked at me with a smile that was faker than a Kardashian’s ass.
“We best be going now. Spencer and I have an appointment we can’t miss,” I spoke as he opened his mouth. It was obvious he wanted to have the first out, but we just spoke over each other. I looked up at Spencer before grasping his hand and pulling him past the couple. Not another word was spoken between us, and not another word will ever be spoken between us. But, that’s okay. I have all I could ever need or want.
I looked up at Spencer before looking back down at the ring on my finger. The ring that he placed there. This is a lot better than last Christmas, and I can’t wait for the rest of my Christmases to be with Spencer.

cw: lightly goes into detail on torture, hisoka, that’s about it I think!
Previous part: here
First part: here
Thankfully, Hisoka didn't stop by after his phone call, but Illumi still took no chances when he went onto jobs. Along with Milluki using the spy cameras Illumi had placed earlier, the long haired assassin made sure at least three butlers were keeping an eye on you whenever he couldn't.
That precaution kept you far away from the blood hungry magician for a week, much to Illumi's relief. Hisoka was a pest, a thorn in Illumi's side through and through, so the last thing the assassin wanted was for him to meet his future wife. Especially now, when you were just too desperate for human contact, and he couldn't risk you getting attacked or manipulated by Hisoka and forcing the assassin to kill such a useful nen user. Or worse, risk you meeting him and growing to love the magician instead of him, so he was dead set on never letting you two meet.
So, instead of risking it, he made sure to keep you as secret as possible, at most giving vague answers to keep the violent hunter at bay when he found him on jobs or something and asked, but confirming or denying little to nothing. Aside from that, Illumi also let the man help him on missions a bit more, both because the assassin could hide things better than his butlers when questioned, and because, though annoying, the vibrantly colored man offered some sort of entertainment on otherwise painfully boring jobs like assassinating businessmen, ex-lovers, or runaway spouses. Though, Hisoka simply popped up sometimes too, either being in the right place at the right time to join on kills, or somehow seeking Illumi out, like a risky, aggravating jack-in-the-box. That habit had gotten him a trip to the Zoldyck basement and torture rooms recently, though it was also a reason Illumi humored the magician when he got bored and asked for help more.
"Please make this simple and tell me where you put the money taken from Mr. Mori." Illumi told his target, a rather pretty young woman he'd been tasked to interrogate, torture, and kill by her ex-sugar daddy.         "Is she under-aged, is that why you won't tell me about her?" Hisoka asked, sitting on the table of menacing torture tools in a dungeon of the Zoldyck estate, having talked the assassin into letting him out to help in this little chat. Illumi was beginning to regret his decision to humor the magician though. The tall assassin glared at the other man for his interruption, only getting an innocent smile in return,         "No, she is not under-aged." He said curtly, and his companion snickered,         "Well, when can I meet her? I'm dying to know what type of woman a Zoldyck lusts after~"         "Never." Hisoka pouted at his flat refusal, but the assassin simply returned to questioning his captive, only turning back to the pink-haired man to grab some pliers from the table,  "Now, I will ask this once more, if I don't get an answer I'll tear out your finger nails until I do. Where is your ex's money?" he warned the woman, who was sobbing and pleading to be freed from the cold, dark room. When she didn't answer his question though, he kept true to his word, gripping one of her nails with the pliers and pulling until it came away from the nail bed. The monotone assassin continued pulling out his target's crimson-painted fingernails while she tried to lie and say she had no idea where his client's money was. No matter, when he ran out of fingernails, he could always move to toenails or teeth.
Hisoka held a metal bowl that Illumi put the dislocated fingernails in, adding a soft clattering noise to the soundtrack of the woman's sobs, screams, and the lazy buzz of the one lantern that hung from the stone wall until he stood up in the partially lit cell to get another tool from the table.          "mmm, she seems quite fun to torture~" Hisoka observed, getting a twisted grin across his face as he looked down at the restrained woman,          "She's unbearably loud," Illumi sighed, looking around on the table of tools until he found a rather simple salt shaker, ignoring when Hisoka leaned a bit too close,          "Y'know, I bet I could get your girlfriend to be just as loud~" he hummed, and something inside of Illumi seemed to snap for a moment. His aloof air instantly changed to palpable malice and he whirled around on the magician, punching him in the face hard enough to send him sprawling across the cold stone floor. The assassin didn't even give him a chance to react once he landed though, in a flash he was on top of him, holding him down by his throat while his knee pressed down on his ribs,           "if you so much as look at my wife, Hisoka, I will fucking kill you before your heart gives another beat." he snarled, tightening his grip on the man's neck until he was gasping and wheezing for air. The pink-haired man gave a nod, a  smirk tugging at his lips still, but the feral murderer didn't let him breath until that coy look finally left and he saw panic replace Hisoka's usual mischievous glint in his gold eyes. When Illumi did finally let him up, the magician was gulping down air and glaring at him instead of his usual knowing, coy glance,           "Jesus Christ Illumi, learn to take a joke. You know my humor can be perverted, there was no need to nearly kill me!" he snapped, the magician's flirty act falling away, but Illumi didn't respond, he simply checked on the woman he'd been tasked to torture. Sadly though, she was now dead from the amount of malevolence  in his nen,          "Great, because of your 'joke' my job just got harder." Illumi said, his voice back to being cold,          "That wasn't my fault, you were the one who didn't just use one of your needles on her to begin with." he pointed out testily, getting glared at by the man,         "The client wanted me to specifically torture her, my needles would have been redundant and not what the client asked for. Of course, I didn't know you were going to be this annoying, or else I would've gotten the information from her at the start." he hummed, and while his voice stayed flat and his face stayed rather aloof, Illumi was boiling with wrath on the inside. Being a pest was one thing, but now Hisoka had actually crossed an important line. So, Illumi simply found the woman's phone in her purse and than called in some butlers. He gave one the cellphone, sending it to Milluki to make use of himself and scour through, than he turned to Hisoka, who was standing in a dark corner across the small cell glaring at them, mostly Illumi.  "Now, I will say this nicely only once," the man said, though his words held no kindness, "please return to your cell with the butlers without a fight, or else I will be forced to call my family and drag you back." The two men stood there for a moment in a heavy silence that seemed to bring down the temperature of the already cold cell further. Illumi wasn't very expressive, he purposely added inflections and overt body language to himself when speaking to you, but Hisoka didn't get that sort of kindness, he simply got stared down by bottomless eyes and a deadpan assassin he knew very well was competent enough to stand up to him. So, he simply grinned a predatory grin at the long haired murderer,        "Fine, I'll go back to my cell peacefully," he relented, putting his hands up with a mischievous smirk. One of these days Morrow, I'm going to finally kill you. Illumi thought as at least three butlers escorted the magician back to where he'd been held, but he didn't say or show the annoyance as they passed.       "Oh, and Illumi, dear? Do tell (y/n) hello for me~" Illumi's aura became malevolent again at that, but the butlers and flamboyant pain in the ass were able to avoid dying from it thanks to their training. Instead, all it did was let slip just how fart Hisoka was under Illumi's skin, making the hunter laugh as he was herded away down the dark hallway, leaving the assassin to simmer in his temper before stalking out of the basement. His first stop once upstairs was Milluki's bedroom.        "How did Hisoka find out anything about (y/n)?" he asked, his voice's flat, monotonous tone coming off as more menacing when paired with how he slammed his brother's face into his trash-littered desk,        "I don't know! Why are you asking me?" the pudgy man hissed out, barring his teeth at his older sibling when he tightened his grip on his hair,       "You are the only person on this mountain aside from Mother who knows about (y/n), and unlike mother, you are the type to tell that bastard about her for a cookie." he pointed out, and Milluki couldn't argue, he did have pretty flippant loyalties when it came to secrets like this.        "Alright, fine, but I promise I didn't. I haven't been in the basement since Hisoka got here." he explained, and after a moment of harsh scrutiny, Illumi let him go and left his nasty, anime-littered room. The tall man then went to his wing of the home, thinking of what to do now. Hisoka knowing (y/n)'s name is bad. If he can figure it out, more people could. He mused, a wave of possessive anxiety washing away his rage for the time being. I can't leave her alone anymore. He finally decided as he reached his rooms and turned around to instead find his mother.

Galentines Gone Wrong
Pairing: Wendell Bray x Reader, Valentine’s Special.
Word Count: 2,623
Summary: Y/n Booth is an FBI agent who works under her brother Seeley Booth and is also partnered with the Jeffersonian. Valentines rolls around and Cam, Daisy, and Y/n are all painfully single. Brennen and Angela join in and the group decides it’s girls night, get absolutely smashed, cause major chaos and get arrested for disturbing the peace. When their counterparts show up to bail them out, girls night turns to date night... or whatever this is.
Edit, March 11th: I hate the end of this. I reread it and it’s lowkey trash, but I’m going to keep it up because people seem to be enjoying it. Just a disclaimer that this is not my best work.
Notes: Tbh I second guessed this yesterday, hence the late post. I want to clarify that Wendell IS NOT preying on a drunk girl, and there was no drunk hookup. This is definitely not my favourite thing I’ve written and I was so out of ideas for the ending, but fck it, I have a migraine and feel like the personification of death. ALSO I WOULD NEVER USE GALENTINES IRL IK ITS LAME BUT I SIMPLY DO NOT CARE. HOLDIDAY SPIRIT BABES. Anyway, on with the show.
It’s been a long night. Fun, but long. You wake up against Daisy’s side, stretching lazily, and still partially drunkenly. As you sit up, you recall the events that led to your current seat in a drunk tank.
The five of you ended up in a biker bar, huge leather-clad and big bearded dudes all over the damn place. Despite being big scary bikers, they were chill and actually bought half of your drinks. Then you and Daisy got a little too close to an attractive younger biker, and his girlfriend was not having it. So an argument turned full on brawl caused the lot of you to bail out of the bar and trek back into town.
Only you were real rowdy, laughing and singing, a little to loudly for anyone’s liking. And got the cops called on you. And got thrown in a dunk tank. Unfortunately “you can’t arrest me, I am the law” doesn’t work if you’re drunk. The cops weren’t a fan of your badge, either.
You’re torn from your thoughts at the sound of voices down the hall, and you stumble over the the bars of the cell, holding onto them for balance. A half-hour nap didn’t do much to sober you up. The voices get closer, and your friends and brother walk in. Wendell’s the first one you notice, your eyes immediately darting to him. He’s wearing a hot ass black jacket, jeans and a white T-shirt, and you stare at him for a lot longer than you should.
“Hey, BJ. Never thought I’d see you on the other side of the bars.” Hodgins laughs at your expression of annoyance, and lets the cop they’re with open the cell door. He walks over to grab Angela, and you scoff.
“I told you to stop calling me BJ. I know you mean Booth Junior, but other people might think something else,” you mutter, much less than impressed at the innuendo tied to the nickname.
Your brother and Sweets go collect Brennan and Daisy, and Cam stands up on her own. She’s the most level-headed of all of you, and she’s completely sobered up now. Wendell walks to your side, your brother is too occupied with his (much less coordinated than you are) wife. Wendell puts an arm around you, and you gladly lean into him, hands settling on his chest.
“You’ll never guess what we did,” you giggle drunkenly against Wendell’s chest, overcome with the giddiness of a schoolgirl with a crush.
“Apparently you guys disturbed a lot of peace.” Wendell has somewhat of an impressed/concerned/entertained smirk on his face. He looks down at you, massively interested in the story as to how you got here. Not that he’ll hear it anytime soon.
“How’d you know?!” You look up at him with surprise written all over your face, a gasp escaping your lips, and it takes a lot for him not to burst out laughing.
“The sheriff told me. Let’s take you home, okay?”
“Okay,” you mumble, much more sullenly than five seconds ago.
Wendell keeps an arm around you, more than a little worried that you’re gonna fall over, and takes you to his car. You get in the front seat, smacking his hand away as he tries to help with your seatbelt. After successfully buckling the seatbelt, you glance back at him with a smirk.
“You know if you wanted to get on top of me all you had to do was ask.”
Wendell nearly chokes and dies at what you’re insinuating. He’s also not sure if this is the tequila talking or if it’s you talking. Composing himself quickly, he lets out a chuckle, saying something along the lines of ‘okay then,’ and closes the door for you. He walks around the front of the car, making his way to the driver’s seat. Hodgins drives by, Angela and Cam in the car with him, and waves as he heads home.
Seeley pulls up beside Wendell, looking at him sternly. Daisy and Brennen are singing in the back seat, and Wendell can see Sweets in the front seat, holding back laughter. It’s a funny sight really, the usually stoic Dr. Brennen and overly excitable Daisy, swaying together in the back seat singing an off-key rendition of piano man. Seeley makes a face at a certain piercing high note that comes from Dr. Brennan, before turning to Wendell.
“Listen man, I appreciate it. If we didn’t live on the opposite side of town, I’d take her home.” Seeley leans out the window slightly, looking at Wendell.
“It’s no problem, really.” Wendell smiles, giving your brother a small wave as he turns to get in his car. “I’ll make sure she gets home safe.”
“Wait! Not that I think you will, but don’t try anything. Alright?”
“Course not, man. Don’t worry, I got this. Head home, I’ll text you when I get Y/n home.” Wendell knows your brother means no harm, obviously, yet can’t help but think about why he’d even think to say that to him.
When he gets back in the car, seeing you sleeping soundly in the passenger seat, curled up and leaning against the window, his worries melt away and he smiles. He turns the car on and lowers the radio volume before driving off.
Tonight summarizes the two of you pretty well, actually. Y/n, the chaotic do-good-er badass, and Wendell, the (sometimes also chaotic) best friend, who always has your back. Sometimes it pains him that you only see him as that, a best friend, but he’s okay with just being that. A friend. Because it means he gets to see you happy. Little does he know, you wouldn’t have gotten so sauced tonight if you weren’t drinking away the thoughts of his lips on yours, his skin pressed against yours as the night turns to morning, the idea of a spark that doesn’t exist. The day of love sucks.
And for some reason, neither of you can see that you’re crazy about each other. Maybe it’s because you’re afraid to ruin what you have, or maybe it’s because you’re both just oblivious, but it doesn’t make a huge difference. Nothing seems to be happening.
Wendell is occupied with a lot of thoughts as he drives to your place. His mind bounces all over the place. He thinks about how you met, when you first walked into the Jeffersonian covered in dirt and sweat (in a cute way... even though he thinks anything is cute on you) after a chase in the desert, just to see your brother and make sure he was okay. He also thinks about the time he literally ran into you and the two of you fell down the platform stairs. The alarms went off, and everyone stared at the pair of you tangled up on the floor. Needless to say it took a while to live that one down. He thinks about every time he’s seen you laugh, and the few that he’s seen you cry. Not that you really even cried, you just couldn’t hold back the tears anymore. You don’t exactly do emotions, not out in the open at least.
He thinks about every reason he’s so smitten with you. You’re courageous, selfless, you protect your friends and family, you’re cutthroat and ferocious, yet simultaneously the sweetest person he’s ever met. You care about every detail of his day when you ask how he’s doing, and you can tell when the slightest thing is off with him, or anyone else at the lab, except for noticing his flaming crush on you. And as he thinks about all the little things, he realizes it can’t stay bottled up forever. He has to tell you.
Before long, you’re home. The two and a half hour drive have Wendell a lot of time to think, yet somehow it also feels like he’s had no time at all. The time has also started your trail toward sobriety, and you can at least think coherently. Wendell wakes you, and when you wake up, your hand goes to your head.
“Good god. Did I get hit by a bus?” Your words are still slightly jumbled together, but you’re getting back to business as usual, and that’s good enough.
“There she is,” he singsongs playfully, glad to see your usual demeanour starting to return. You unbuckle your seatbelt, groaning when you go to move. Wendell offers you a hand, and you take it.
Helping you up, he puts an arm around your waist again. You stumble slightly, and when he catches you, you fall against him, leaning against his chest. He ends up just scooping you up off the ground and carrying you inside, placing you on the couch. You’re mostly in good shape, just awful clumsy and distracted due to your headache. Wendell heads into the kitchen, grabbing a glass of water and some crackers.
“How you doing?” He sits by your thigh, putting an arm on the back of the couch and looking over at you. You cover your face with your hands, laughing gently.
“Ugh, please tell me I didn’t actually make the worst sex implication joke ever.”
“Um...”
“Oh shit. This is embarrassing.” You sit up, still a little tipsy, but not as messed up as you were at the police station. Maybe if things go off you can play it off as Valentine’s tequila. “Fuck it. I’m just gonna go for it. Tonight was fun or whatever, but I really wanted to spend it with you.”
“We could’ve done that. We can hang out this weekend if you want.”
“No, no. You really are a blonde.” You laugh, nudging his shoulder with your fist. Suddenly nervous, you start to ramble. “Not that that’s bad, because you’re definitely pretty. You’re a cute blonde, and you do have really nice arms, they’re really toned, and you know, at the garage you wear these tight shirts and sometimes I just stare and I worry you see, but-“
“Y/n! You’re getting off track here.” He puts a hand on your shoulder, laughing at your rambles. “Maybe we should talk about this tomorrow.”
“I like you a lot.” The words are out of your mouth before he’s even finished his sentence. “Like I have feelings for you?” It comes out like a question, but it’s meant as more of a fearful statement.
“Wait, really?” His eyes widen and his smile falls. At first you think he’s about to run for the hills, but when a small smile appears on his face you’re not so sure.
“Ah, shit, I shouldn’t have said anything,” you curse, rolling your eyes at your own stupidity. That’s fuckin embarrassing.
“No, I like you, too. A lot.” Wendell takes your hand, and you lay against his side as he keeps talking. “We can talk more, when you’re sober. But I do like you. And I think that if we decided that this weekend’s hangout was more ‘ice skating in the park’ instead of ‘trying to kill each other at the rink’, I’d be more than okay with that. I’d like that a lot, actually.” He lets out a small, nervous chuckle, and he glances down at you, fingers grazing your cheek as he contemplates if it would be weird to cup your face with his hand and run his thumb over your cheek.
“Really?” You look up at him with an adorable awestruck expression, and he nearly bursts out laughing.
“Yeah, really.” A smile stays glued to his face, and he shifts slightly, which causes you to sit up. “Now, you should probably go to bed, so that you’re not completely useless tomorrow.”
Wendell plants a small kiss on the top of your head, before standing and scooping you up, bringing you to your room. He drops you gently on your bed, and you let out a small giggle as you bounce slightly with the impact. You banish him from your room so that you can change, and not really paying attention, grab a black hoodie and shorts out of your closet. When you open the door again, he’s just leaning against the wall outside.
“Sorry, I didn’t know where you wanted me to set up- is that my hoodie? I’ve been looking for that!”
“Huh?” You look down at the sweater, seeing the small Jeffersonian logo on the left side of the chest, and the initials on the sleeve. “Oh, I guess it is.” You remember when he gave it to you, he couldn’t stand the idea of you remaining in your blood soaked T-shirt, the grey had become a sticky maroon, too much so to be comfortable. “You can have it back-“
“No, you keep it.” He steps closer, lifting your chin so that you look at him, and brushing a stray hair out of your face. His voice drops, becoming softer and breathy. “It’s much cuter on you anyway,” he murmurs, making you blush profusely, a little laugh escaping your lips.
The two of you fall silent, each staring at the other’s lips. A hum comes from the furnace, causing you both to startle slightly, and it ends the moment. You glance back at Wendell again, before sitting on your bed. He tilts his head at you, mildly confused as to what you’re doing.
“Where did you want me to sleep?”
“Wherever you want. There’s blankets and a few pillows in the closet.”
He thanks you and walks out, and you breathe in deeply, not realizing how shallow your breathing had become. Your mind is racing, and so is your heart. This is simultaneously about the best and worst Valentine’s you’ve ever had. As you mull over the events of tonight, you slide under the blankets, laying back and staring at the ceiling. The shuffling in your living room comes to a stop, and you can hear Wendell coming back to your room. He stops in the doorway.
“Came back to say goodnight,” he says softly, making your heart melt.
“You mind staying for a while?” You sit up, looking at him. He glances over his shoulder at you, a perplexed expression plastered on his face. “What?! I’ve had a rough night,” you say, pretending to be offended. He makes his way over, laying on your bed, on top of the blankets. You roll over and face him, looking up at him lazily. “Goodnight, Wendell.”
You drift off to sleep fairly quickly, but not before you subconsciously lay your head on his chest. He’s terrified at first, frozen in place and afraid to breathe, but after a few minutes he collects himself and calms down. You sleep soundly, curled up beside Wendell. He’s warm and he smells good, and he’s pretty comfortable. By the morning, the two of you are completely intertwined, tangled in blankets and each others’ arms.
The two of you grab a greasy breakfast (and some Advil) and spend the day together, actually talking about what happened the night before. Most of the day is spent at your place, you and Wendell lounging around on your couch as you binge watch your favourite series and try to overcome your hangover.
The next days and weeks fly by, you and Wendell getting closer and closer. The pair of you go on a few dates before things are made official, Wendell going as far as taking you on a walk in the snow and officially asking you out by the outdoor rink. He even reserved ice time so the two of you could skate around like idiots and pass a puck around.
And eventually, when people start to see you’re together, and ask about your story, you have to tell them he bailed you out of jail after Galantine’s gone wrong.

This is something I wrote on my old account @xxdxaxx I won't add a link to the original post cause I'm basically just reposting it after editing it a little bit. It's this wild thought I had in mind a long time ago.
Basically Andromeda adopts Severus in his first year. She sees this little nervous boy unsure about his place in the world and who just wants to go back to his best friend, who is a muggleborn. She automatically decides to keep him cause she can see that he isn't like the other Slytherins, and sure enough Severus gets attached to her and sees her like a mom because of how nice and caring she is.
Imagine Severus running to Andromeda anytime the mauraders bully him and cling to her for dear life. She'll whisper sweet nothings in his ear in order to calm him down and wipe away his tears. Once she graduates you best believe that Severus clung to her with tears streaming down his face as he begged her not to go, not to leave him alone in Hogwarts. Andromeda promising him that she'll write to him everyday no matter what and seeing him perk up.
Severus going to her after his fall out with Lily and begging Andromeda to forgive him for saying such an awful word, especially since she herself married a muggleborn. Andromeda quickly knowing how guilty he feels and pulls him into a hug, she knows what its like being in a house and having to act a certain way so as not to get hurt by the others. She knows how it feels to get bullied for being a blood traitor and knows what its like to be misjudged because of what house you're in. So that day is spent with Sev and Andromeda cuddling on the couch and Ted, casually draping a soft blanket over them both while smiling as he remembers doing this back in Hogwarts.
Tho before she graduated Andromeda had made plans to murder Malfoy after Severus mentions the slightest attraction towards him. Then constantly asking questions when he says he might like Rosier, she knows him well and to be honest its rather shocking to hear Sev say that but in retrospect she can sorta see why. Rosier was brave, smart, well mannered, and oddly protective when it came to those he cared about so really despite his craziness he may have been a good match.
Now what shocked her most was the way Sev ranted about Gilderoy Lockhart, despite his rants being full of hatred towards the man she knew he held some attraction towards him. Honestly it ain't hard to miss when Sev says and I quote "I hate his goddamn gorgeous hair!! Filthy bastard!" and she takes great pleasure in teasing him about it too. Hell she even has it recorded and threatens him with it. Ted would tease him to but at least he knew when to stop, because he knows Sev is good with magic and can end him (plus his wife has threatened him about teasing her child and by god will he disobey her)
Severus hates the teasing and would go and hang out with Ted seeing as he wouldn't do it as much as she would. It warmed Andromeda's heart seeing her two favorite boys spend time together and nothing made her happier. When it came to Severus's graduation Andromeda and Ted had attend and they both cried seeing as Sev was basically their kid no matter what. That day was a day Sev wouldn't forget seeing as he had to deal with Andromeda constant whines of how her baby boy was growing up! TED HOW DO WE KEEP HIM FROM GROWING UP THIS ISN'T FAIR!!!!
Ted had to comfort his wife while she clung to Severus the same way he did upon her graduation. Of course aside from how proud of him she was both her and Ted weren't pleased with the fact that he joined the death eaters (love struck fool is what Andromeda had concluded for why he joined). Ted had to keep her from going over to the Malfoy Manor and kill Lucius for corrupting her baby boy.
Luckily for them she didn't bother to try and kill Evan Rosier (solely cause she knows Sev would be upset at her if she did, he really liked him). Eventually Andromeda annouces that she is pregnant and Ted is beyond happy but Sev is unsure how to feel (he's a mama's boy, he jealous) Once she starts to show Sev would poke her stomach which both Andromeda and Ted found amusing. The day that she was to give birth was rather eventful, her and Sev had been folding laundry when her water broke which made him faint.
After getting to the hospital with an unconscious Severus and contacting her husband she had finally given birth to that of Nymphadora Tonks. Both her and Ted had been immensely happy although Ted had been crying the entire time that both Andromeda and Severus wanted to hex him. When they went home Andromeda had finally gotten Severus to hold Nymphadora and when she was placed in his arms he froze up in fear.
He didn't want to accidentally hurt her and cause Andromeda & Ted to hate him. Soon after that day Severus had begun to visit them less due to being a death eater and not wanting them to get hurt. Yet one day he came to visit and his face was covered in dried up tears, his eyes red and puffy. His heart breaking as he told Andromeda and Ted about the death of Evan Rosier, the boy who captured the sun in his hair and held the sky in eyes. It took Andromeda several days to get Severus to stop crying and a couple more to get him to eat.
As days passed with Severus still visiting less Andromeda had gone back to Hogwarts to see him and inform him about the death of Ted. When she saw Sev all she could do was pull him into a hug and cry her heart out, a few minutes later she had regained enough strength and soon told Severus which caused him to break down and cry alongside Andromeda who still had her arms wrapped around him. Time came and went with Severus no longer visiting, until one faithful night when he came barging into her home sobbing.
She knew exactly why her boy was so heart broken, she had just read the paper that stated the death of Lily Evans and James Potter. She held him until he fell asleep in her arms and took him home. After that Sev barely left Hogwarts only to visit the Malfoy's seeing as Lucius was a death eater himself Sev didn't have to worry much but when it came to Draco he tried his best to protect him. As life goes on Sev and Andromeda continue to write to eachother.
The both of them had saved every letter and would read them when they got lonely. Andromeda had promised Severus that she wouldn't tell Nymphadora about him due to fear that she might get hurt because everyone who seems to know about him ended up dead. Sad to say it wasn't long before Andromeda received news about the death of her daughter and her son-in-law Remus that had prompted Severus to go see her and stay a few nights to keep her safe. As the war continued and Andromeda sat safely in her home with her grandson in her arms she received a letter which shattered her world completely.
Why? because that letter stated that her boy, her precious shy little boy, that same boy who was scared of the world, that boy who'd come crying to her and seeking comfort after being bullied, that boy who would shyly ask her to read to him when they were alone, that same boy who managed to best every slytherin in his exams, that boy who she had claimed as hers upon seeing him, her brave boy Severus Snape was dead.
She didn't know what to do, she sat there reading the letter over and over in hopes that it wasn't true. Yet once she realized that her boy was dead she broke down and cried till her eyes had no more tears shed. She lost everyone she loved and cared for, well all except her grandson and she prayed to Merlin that no one would take him away from her.

Chapter 61
Stark Spangled Banner Masterlist // Main Masterlist
Tumblr media
May 2024
There were various ways in which Katie was used to being woken in the mornings. Sometimes it was by a kiss from Steve along with a fresh coffee when he returned from a run. On others, she woke up because she was just too damned hot due to Steve being tangled around her like a koala, years of sleeping together hadn’t changed him in that respect. He was needy. Very needy. Some mornings it was down to a cheeky four year old crawling under the covers from the foot of the bed, settling in between his parents for a morning snuggle, Lucky often padding behind him. And then there were the times she was woken in a way which was most certainly not child friendly, in any way, shape or form.
Which was the way she found herself waking that sunny Tuesday morning, whilst the first light broke outside their Brooklyn home. She was barely aware of a pair of soft lips gently kissing her neck forming an exquisite contrast to the delectable scratching of a beard against her skin, a strong yet ever so gentle hand trailing across her now huge baby bump and up her side and curve of her hip in a way that made her shudder in anticipation.
Unable to stop herself, she made a sleepy noise in her throat and the owner of said lips and beard smirked against the crook of her shoulder as a hand slid between her legs and caressed the inside of her thigh. Still half asleep, she let out a soft sigh, moving her legs slightly, spreading them wider. She blinked and rolled her head to glance over her shoulder to be met with a pair of bright, blue eyes that were shining with mischief.
“Good Morning.” Steve’s voice was thick with sleep and an unmistakable deep sliver of desire, his short hair tousled slightly where he’d been led on it.
“Yeah, it looks that way.” She grinned biting her lip, as his hand moved back up over her stomach. “What happened to sleeping in?” “It’s gone nine, Doll.” he murmured, his lips gently sucking on the spot behind her ear. “You’ve been asleep for nearly twelve hours.” “Not my fault.” Katie closed her eyes and rolled her head to the side as his teeth nipped at her skin. “At least I can sleep this time round.”
Steve let out a chuckle as his hand continued his journey upwards underneath the shirt she was wearing. Much to his relief (for the sake of both their sanity) Katie had found this pregnancy a lot easier than the last one, something she continually insisted was down to her carrying a girl and not an awkward mini-Steve.
She still had her cravings. The food this time being strawberries (in any shape be it fresh, dried, flavoured ice cream, flavoured milk) and sex (which Steve was more than happy to help out with) but all in all the sickness had dissipated by twenty weeks, she managed to sleep better and she felt better, he could tell. She wasn’t half as cranky or emotional as she had been last time and had actually enjoyed being pregnant, confessing to Steve that she was actually going to miss it when their little girl arrived, and it had shown. She was positively glowing.
The day they’d found out they were expecting a daughter, Steve’s entire face had lit up with a smile as large as his heart as he’d choked up that his secret wish had come true, a little princess that would hopefully look just like her momma, with her famous sass and tenacity that he loved beyond belief. And the fact that his wife was there, nurturing and growing his baby once more, seeing the changes to her body again, had made him constantly horny on the low.
And this morning was no exception.
“Not going running?” Katie asked as his lips continued their assault on her neck.
“Its my day off.” He muttered, as if that explained it, whilst his arm pulled her back further into his chest and she could feel his hardness pressing into her back. Katie deliberately pushed back into him, causing him to hiss through his teeth and his hand found her tender breast and gave a soft squeeze, his finger barely brushing over the nipple but it was enough to send a hotwire straight to her groan, causing her to moan loudly.
“Shhh!” He grinned, using the hand of his right arm that was currently situated underneath her neck to gently tip her head round towards him, capturing her lips in a deep kiss. “God I love you.” He muttered against her lips, pressing his forehead to hers.
“I love you too.” She sighed, as his hand slid back down her body and worked into her sleep shorts. She gave a hiss, senses heightened as Steve hooked a hand round her thigh slightly, placing it over his to keep her legs open.
“Sweetheart, you’re fucking drenched.” He groaned, breath hot on her lips and she gave a soft whimper.
“Don’t tease me Stevie, please.” She murmured, pressing back further against his crotch. “Need you.”
And when she begged like that, how could he refuse?
He ground back up against her once before he gently eased the bottom half of her clothing down, shoving his own sleep pants down.
“We’ve got to be quiet.” Katie reminded him, then contradicted herself, letting out a groan when he shifted gently, keeping her leg over his and slowly pushed into her, his hand grasping on her hip. Katie’s head rolled back further as he began to move gently, his teeth grazed the side of her neck gently chiding,
“Hush, Baby.”
Katie whimpered, but did as instructed, turning her face into the pillow, digging the tips of her nails into his arms which were wrapped around her, keeping her close to him as he continued his slow, deep movements, finding a rhythm that was perfect for the lazy morning. He continued to spread sloppy kisses down the back of her neck, and she once more rolled her head to capture his mouth, her breath coming in ragged pants as she neared her release. Steve read the signals and picked up the pace slightly, his hand dropping to her clit and gently stroking.
“Fuck.” She hissed from between her teeth, turning her face to press again into the pillows in an attempt to stifle her sinful moans. Steve buried his face into her neck, quelling his own noises of satisfaction, as he rutted up and forward into her again, his fingers deftly working her sensitive bud as he did so. Katie was powerless to do anything but squeal she felt her relief coming, silently screaming as the lights went off before her eyes and she let out a soft keen of delight into the plush bedding that surrounded her face as she tightened and pulsed around him, pushing him over the edge right behind her. Steve came with a low moan that he stifled by biting down gently on her shoulder, his chest heaving as the world span around him.
They lay there in silence for a moment, the only sound was that of their heavy breathing as Steve ran his hand up and down the curve of his wife’s hip, before it curled around her bump, her own hands settling on his forearm as she looked over her shoulder. Steve lifted his head with a lazy smirk gently pressing their lips together again, more than content to stay right where they were and possibly fall back to sleep.
But it seems someone else had other plans.
Steve’s head snapped up when his super hearing picked up the sound of a door opening across the landing. “Incoming.” He muttered before they shared a smile and he pulled out of her, both of them giving another soft sigh as he hastily pulled up his pants, Katie managing to find her sleep shorts that had been discarded somewhere under the covers. And just in time too, as the door opened a crack and a small blonde head peeked in. Jamie grinned upon seeing his parents awake and quickly made a beeline for the bed, diving onto the bottom and crawling up into the middle.
“Morning, Sweetie.” Katie beamed as Steve moved the covers so the little boy could settle underneath them.
“Morning Momma, morning Daddy.” He grinned, giving them both a kiss in turn. A thud on the bottom of the bed told Steve that Lucky had joined the party and sure enough, when he looked down he saw the elderly dog was led with his head on Katie’s feet where they peaked the blanket up.
“Did you sleep well?” Katie asked, smoothing back Jamie’s sleep mussed hair as he sat up in the middle of his parents.
“I had a dream I was on motorbike.” He grinned and Steve chuckled as the boy turned to his father. “Can I ride yours?” Steve looked at Katie who rolled her eyes. He had let Jamie sit on it in the garage a few days prior and since then he had been obsessed with the damned thing.
“Maybe later.” He smiled. “But first, I don’t know about you but I’m pretty hungry.”
“I want pancakes.” Jamie demanded clapping his hands together.
“What d’ya say?” Steve responded gently correcting his manners.
Jamie stilled, staring at Steve with his big blue eyes, a smile on his face. “Please.”
Then they both turned pleading faces towards Katie and she laughed at the ridiculous resemblance between them. “Alright,” she sighed, “We can have pancakes. Again.”
Jamie cheered. “Emmy will want pancakes too!” He chirped, climbing over his father, drawing a loud huff from Steve as his knee dug him right in the stomach, before the stocky little boy slid off the side of the bed. Katie grinned as he ran off calling for his sister.
“I’ll go start breakfast.” Steve smiled. “I’m assuming you’ll want Strawberries with yours?”
She nodded eagerly. “Oh and some chocolate chips.” “Any strawberries in your orange juice or you happy to have that straight, today?” Steve raised an eyebrow at her, remembering her sudden request yesterday that he blended the fruit into her juice. “Our little princess wants what she wants, Stevie.” She smirked and he laughed, giving her a peck on the lips before he swung his legs off the side of the bed, standing and grabbing a shirt off the back of the chair by the dresser.
“Nice ass.” Katie complimented cheekily.
He threw a smirk over his shoulder as he turned walking backwards towards the door holding his arms out to the side, giving the usual response “It’s all yours Baby Momma” He told her, turning back round heading out of the door.
Katie giggled and looked at Lucky who was now led on his back, all four legs splayed, in a most undignified position.
“You comfy, pal?” She grinned at the dog as his head cocked to one side and his tail began to wag as much as it could due to the position he was in. She rubbed his belly before she heaved herself out of bed and headed into the en-suite for a quick shower. Her back was aching slightly, most likely due to the position she’d just been pleasantly fucked in, but it was nothing she couldn’t cope with. She smiled to herself, her hand rubbing her bump, knowing that their baby would be with them any day now. And, despite the fact she was petrified about giving birth again, she couldn’t wait to meet their little miracle snap baby. And neither could Steve.
Once she was dried, Katie pulled on a pair of leggings, a vest top and one of Steve’s flannel button downs before she made her way down to the kitchen, the chatter of her family’s voices hitting her ear as she walked into the room ready for her breakfast.
“Daddy says we can go see Uncle Buck as I’m not going to Day Care today!” Jamie told her as soon as she made her way to the table. “He’s at his department.” “Apartment, dude.” Emmy corrected.
“Yeah that!” He nodded. “Uncle Sammy will be there too.”
“He messaged before to say he was back from, well, wherever he’s been for the past two weeks. I said we’d pop by later on.” Steve said as Katie looked at him. “Thought we could walk round if you’re feeling up to it?”
Katie nodded, the apartment Bucky had bought was only a few blocks away. He’d only moved in a few months ago as the paperwork had taken a while to complete and then there had been the rather heated discussion Katie had held with Secretary Ross in order to get both Sam and Bucky some form of compensation, not to mention Bucky’s Army severance pay that was well overdue. Katie had gone to town on the man, thoroughly enjoying the fact she embarrassed him in front of a fair few military leaders accusing him of shirking his responsibilities towards two Veterans, and then the new President had stepped in, probably to stop her right hooking him again. As a result, the two men had been given a fairly decent lump sum each, with Katie had doubled using monies from the Stark Relief Fund. Bucky had bought a nice apartment in Brooklyn, whilst Sam had opted to head further into Manhattan after spending a couple of months at home with his folks. Either way, it made both Katie and Steve chuckle as the two men spent that much time at each other’s respective places they might as well have moved in with one another.
“You wanna come, Em?” Katie asked as Steve set a large plate of pancakes down in the middle of the table
“I got homework.” she pulled a face “I’ll probably do a bit then go to Brooke’s. Am I okay to stay the night? We’ll be studying, not messing around I promise.” “If it’s okay with Jennifer it’s fine with us, Sweetheart.” Steve said, placing a dish of strawberries down in front of Katie before he settled into the spare seat as his wife placed a few pancakes on a plate and some bacon for Jamie. “And as for studying, give yourself a night off. You’ve been flat at it since you broke up last week.”
She smiled at him as he gave her a wink before they all tucked into their breakfast. They ate, talking about anything and everything, before Emily retreated upstairs to her room to start her work. Katie and Steve settled in the living room for an hour or two before they dressed and set off on the short walk to Bucky’s apartment.
“Hey buddy!” Bucky grinned as Jamie threw himself at his Uncle, wrapping his arms around his legs.
“I missed you Uncle Buck!” Jamie giggled as Bucky swung him up into his arms, moving backwards to let Katie and Steve into the apartment. Katie undid her lightweight jacket and Steve took it from her, as usual, before he shed his own and placed them on the hooks by the door. “You guys walk here?”
Katie nodded. “It’s a nice day, pretty warm out.”
“Yeah, I’ve been colder.” Bucky quipped, making her grin. He turned to Jamie. “You wanna chocolate milk, pal?”
“Yup!” Jamie grinned, popping the P causing Steve to snort as they all made their way through into the kitchen. Katie noticed there were a few more photos dotted around the place than last time she had been. She’d done the same for Bucky as she had for Steve years ago and dug a few photos out of archives and various places, making him a frame up which consisted of shots of his family, him and Steve, the Howlies… He’d hung it on the wall and now around it were a few pictures of more recent times, including some of him and the kids. She smiled gently as she saw the copy of the scan photo they had given him pinned up on the fridge.
It wasn’t long before Sam joined them much to Jamie’s delight and soon the apartment was filled with chattering and laughter, which in turn filled Steve’s chest with a warmth he couldn’t explain, having his best friend in such a domestic setting.
They ate lunch, as of course Jamie was hungry despite the mountain of pancakes he had eaten, and then Bucky keyed up the Nintendo, passing a controller to Jamie with a grin.
“How’s the job going Steve?” Sam asked, passing Steve a beer as he sank back onto the couch, the sound of Mario Karts filled the room form the speakers of the TV. Steve watched Jamie for a moment, before he turned to Sam smiling.
“Good, yeah.” he leaned back, taking a drink of his beer. “It’s still early days yet but…no I’m enjoying it”
And he was. Whilst he had back in time, so to speak, Steve had trained as an art teacher but he had no paper work or anything to back this up formally. So, with Katie’s help, he had pitched an idea to the Pratt Institute who had gleefully accepted him as a part time lecturer on their History Programme, providing first hand experiences of being in the War and the Depression. Alongside this, he was working to re-gain the qualifications he needed to teach BFA Drawing. It wasn’t full time, he worked Wednesday through Friday at the moment, intending to pick it up when he was qualified but that was still up for debate. They didn’t need the money, it was more a case of Steve needing to do something and he had no desire to join the various military organisations the Government kept trying to tempt him with. Plus, he still hosted a support group twice a week and that wasn’t something he wanted to give up any time soon. Bringing everyone back had, as predicted, posed a whole different set of problems so SIDE had continued to fund groups to help in any way they could.
“You on maternity leave yet?” Bucky asked, not looking at Katie, his eyes glued to the screen “Because, no offence, but you’re huge.” “Thanks.” She glared at the back of his head as he shrugged. “I officially finished last Friday. The Company is in good caretaker hands and Pepper will be overseeing it all so, yeah, that’s it!”
“Just need her here now.” Steve grinned, his hand resting on the back of the sofa behind Katie.
“You need a name first.” Sam raised an eyebrow.
“They got one.” Jamie looked at Sam, taking his attention off the screen “It’s…” “Woah!” Steve cut him off and shook his head, “A secret, remember?”
Jamie clamped his little hands over his mouth “Whoops!”
“Whisper it to me kid.” Sam grinned, leaning down towards Jamie who shook his head furiously.
“That’s naughty, Uncle Sammy.” He looked at him, his little brow furrowed.
“Yeah stop trying to teach my kid bad habits.” Steve shot him a look. “He gets enough off his sister.”
At that point a triumphant cry came from Bucky who’s Luigi Kart had sailed over the line in front of Jamie’s Mario one.
“You cheated.” Jamie looked at him, his eyes narrowed with an expression that made him momentarily look like his mother.
“How did I cheat?” Bucky scoffed.
“I wasn’t watching.” Jamie continued to glare at him. “That’s your own fault.” Bucky smirked. “Rule number one kid, never take your eye off your opponent.” “Okay, move over Jay.” Sam shook his head, dropping onto the floor by the little boy’s side as he handed him the controller. “I’m gonna kick his ass.”
**** “But I don’t wanna!” Jamie pouted, as Steve held out his coat when it was time to leave. “I wanna stay here…” “It’s not up for discussion.” Steve replied sternly. “Put your jacket on, now.” “Steve.” Bucky smiled, holding his hand out. “I don’t mind, I can drop him back tomorrow if he wants to stay.”
“Boys night in.” Sam nodded sagely and Jamie’s eyes lit up as he looked at Sam then back to Steve. “Yeah, please daddy. There’s some of my stuff in the spare room from my last sleep over.” Jamie pleaded.
Steve sighed, and looked at his son who was watching him, hope bright in his eyes.
“Honey?” He asked, looking to his wife who merely popped her shoulder in response.
“He’s not in Nursery this week so his routine is already out of the window, he can stay for me, but you’ll have to feed him at some point.” She smiled, looking at Bucky. “Preferably before midnight or he’ll turn into a gremlin.”
The reference was lost on Bucky, but not Sam who laughed.
“Pizza?” Bucky asked and Jamie gave a cheer.
“Pizza is my fave. And Mac and Cheese.” “Looks like he’s all yours then.” Steve shrugged, putting the jacket back on the hook and retrieving Katie’s instead. “Don’t let him stay up too late or we’ll be dealing with the fall out tomorrow.” Bucky saluted Steve who rolled his eyes before he looked at Jamie. “You behave or Uncle Bucky and Sam will call me to come pick you up.” Jamie saluted his dad in an identical way to Bucky, making Katie grin. Together, man and wife set off back into the setting sun, Steve’s arm curling round Katie’s shoulders. As they were alone for the evening, Emmy having messaged to say she was indeed going to Brooke’s, they decided to take the opportunity for a meal out and headed to a little Italian Bistro Steve had discovered on his run one morning. Katie wasn’t all that hungry after a large lunch but she managed a decent portion of her penne pasta, Steve demolishing her left overs as well as his own meal. They then made their way over to a small wine bar across the street, Steve grabbing them both a drink as they settled in one of the booths by the back, simply enjoying their time together, and left shortly before eleven, their pace easy.
They’d made it to the end of their road when Katie stopped, rubbing at her back as she gave a little hiss of pain.
“You okay?” Steve’s brow furrowed in concern and she smiled, shaking her head.
“Yeah, my back’s been playing up all day. I’ll be fine in a bit.”
The continued their walk, at a slower pace, until just as they reached their gate, Katie felt a sharp twinge across her abdomen. She blew out a breath as she rubbed her distended belly through her jacket and then the realisation washed over her. The growing back pain, uncomfortable feeling she’d had all day…just like it had been when she had started labour with Jamie.
Steve was watching her as she looked at him, straightening up.
“I think I’ve started.” She said gently.
“Really?” Steve asked, closing the distance between them, hands falling to her hips.
“I think so, I mean it feels the same as last time.”
Steve’s face was the same mix of excitement and nervousness it had been when she’d gone into labour with Jamie just over four years ago, and he placed a kiss on her forehead as he pressed his hand to the sensor on the gate.
“Let’s get you in and settled.” He smiled.
Once she was inside, Katie sat on the couch, suddenly very uncomfortable. Steve went into the kitchen to find the heat pack, but he hadn’t even had chance to open the cupboard when a loud yell made him turn and run back into the lounge.
Katie was bent over rubbing at her stomach her face scrunched up in pain.
“Honey?” Steve dropped to his knees in front of her.
She breathed through it and looked at him, nodding. “I’m okay.”
“Do we need to go in already?” He frowned. Katie shook her head, smiling. “It’s gonna be faster but not that fast.”
“You want me to run you a bath?” She nodded.
“Alright, come on.” In one easy movement she was in his strong, secure arms as he effortlessly carried her up the stairs.
Fifteen minutes later she lay in the bath, the warm water providing a little comfort until she felt another contraction. Katie counted, and this one lasted for a good sixty seconds, causing her to swallow with worry. She couldn’t possibly be in full labour though, it was far too fast. Taking a deep breath, she lay still for a further ten minutes then another hit her and this time she was unable to stop the scream leaving her mouth as she bent her head forward then back against the rim of the bath.
Almost instantaneously, she heard heavy steps bounding up the stairs and the door to the bathroom opened.
“Sweetheart?” “Steve,” she looked at him, panic on her face, “That’s three in less than thirty minutes. I think we need to go.” “Alright, come on.” He nodded, walking across the room before he stopped dead as he glanced down into the bath, his eyes widening as he swallowed slightly.
“What…” Katie looked down and spotted the blood in the water, spreading like ribbons between her legs.
And then she started to panic.
“Oh God, Steve, there’s something wrong!” “Honey, look at me.” Steve knelt by the bath, hand on her face, trying to appear calm when he was anything but. “Let’s get you out and I’ll call Dr Kellet okay?”
“Okay.” Steve gently hooked his arms under her shoulders and easily lifted her out of the tub, wrapping her in a towel robe, just before another contraction hit her and she gripped at the sink for support, gritting her teeth, screaming in pain as he rubbed her back.
“This is too painful, it’s wrong.” She sobbed as Steve stood right by her side, his arm curved over her hips as he pulled his phone out of his pocket with his spare hand.
He scrolled through and found the number for Katie’s Ob-Gyn that had been programmed into his phone ready. Katie had insisted she wanted the woman was there for the birth, having been her doctor for years.
“Dr Kellet?” He cleared his throat. “It’s Steve Rogers…sorry to bother you, so late.” “It’s not a problem Mr Rogers.” She greeted him, “I’m assuming Mrs Rogers has gone into labour?”
But before Steve had even had a chance to explain what was going on, Katie gripped his arm.
“No,no, no!” She cried, her voice almost a plea of disbelief. “Steve, I need to push…”
His eyes widened.
“Ok I heard that.” Dr Kellet spoke calmly in his ear “Make her as comfortable as possible, I’ll be with you as soon as I can, I’m only round the corner, lucky for you I’ve been out on another call.”
“Should I call an ambulance?” Steve gulped.
“I’ll do it.” The woman assured him. “Just as a standby, chances are that baby’s going to arrive before we can get her to the birthing centre though. You concentrate on your wife. I’ll see you shortly.” “Thank you.” He whispered as he put the phone down and turned to his wife who was now crying.
“Steve I don’t want my baby here.” She sobbed.
“Hey,” he soothed, his hands on her face. “Dr Kellet is on her way.”
“I need to go to the centre.” “Sweetheart, if we take you, chances are you’re gonna have her on the way.”
“But, something might go wrong and…”
“Look, it’s gonna be fine.” He assured her, not quite sure where his confidence was coming from as frankly he was anything but. However, he knew the more he panicked, the more she would so he had no alternative but to put a brave face on. “There’s an ambulance coming too, just in case we need it once she’s here.”
Katie refused to move from her spot in the bathroom, despite Steve’s best attempts. And the following seven minutes and thirty-four seconds that it took Dr Kellet to arrive were the longest of Steve’s life. When the buzzer to the gate finally sounded, he bounded down the stairs, helped the woman with her kit bag, and hastily led her straight up to the bathroom, leaving the gate and door open for the paramedics when she informed him they were approximately ten minutes behind her.
Katie was now screaming in pain as the Doctor knelt beside her, where she was still hovering over the sink.
“Mrs Rogers,” she told her calmly as she snapped on a pair of gloves. “I’m just going to take a look okay?” Katie nodded as Steve’s arm curled around her shoulder. After a few seconds the woman stood up.
“Fully dilated and engaged.” She looked at Katie “This baby is on its way.”
“No I need to be at the centre!” Katie began to cry. “Mrs Rogers, trust me that is not an option.” The Doctor was firm but fair as she turned to Steve “Where’s your bedroom?”
“Straight across the hall, last door to your left.” Steve swallowed, his hand rubbing at Katie’s back as she screamed again.
“We need to get her led down before baby gets distressed.” The Doctor instructed, moving out of the room and picking up her kit bag.
“Steve,” Katie turned to him as the Doctor hurried into their room, “Stevie, I’m scared.”
He didn’t need her to tell him that, he could see the fear in her eyes and it killed him. Not least because he was petrified himself. “I know, Honey.” He gave her a small smile, pressing a kiss to her head. “But Dr Kellet is here, it’ll be okay. Now, come on, let’s get you settled.”
He carried her into the bedroom where Dr Kellet had unpacked most of her equipment and was throwing a plastic sheet over their bed.
“I know this isn’t what you planned” She spoke to Katie gently as she screamed in pain again, Steve gently placing her on the bed.
“Why is it all so fast?” Katie gasped out. “I don’t…”
“You’re experiencing something called Precipitous labour.” The Doctor explained as Steve knelt on the floor besides her, taking her hand in his, the fingers of the other one brushing her hair off her face. “It’s rare but not completely unheard of. Just means things happen extremely quickly, that’s all.” Katie really didn’t care what it was called. All she knew was that the pain was excruciating. Worse than with Jamie, and she had no relief either. And she was done with trying to be brave.
“It hurts.” She sobbed, laying her head against the pillow, turning to face Steve who dropped a kiss to her forehead before her entire body tensed up as Dr Kellet knelt on the bed. “Oh God, I need to push this time, I really do.”
“Then go with it.” The doctor instructed and Steve kissed the back of his wife’s hand.
“I got you, I promise.” He looked at her, his eyes locking onto hers which were wide with fear. “You can do this, Sweetheart.” So she did, screaming as her tears freely flowed down her cheeks in a mix of agony and fear. She had neve felt pain like it, but all she could think about now was that their girl needed to arrive, safely, and to do that she had to fight through her own discomfort for her.
Three huge pushes later a piercing scream hit their ears and Katie collapsed back, and Steve felt pure relief flood over him as their tiny daughter was positioned on his wife’s chest, soft skin against hers through the top of her towel robe screaming as she nuzzled into her mother.
“Steve,” Katie managed to gasp, looking at him as he lay his head against hers, looking down at their baby girl, tears pouring down his face as he got a proper glance at his daughter for the first time.
“Shit, Katie, she’s just like you.” He stuttered, his large and shaking hand gently moving the top of Katie’s robe to gently run a finger down his baby girl’s cheek. She was smaller than Jamie had been, despite the fact he had been earlier, with a smattering of dark hair. Her eyes cracked open, a sliver of light baby blue peered up at them which caused Steve’s heart to swell even more, as their baby snuggled further into Katie’s chest and Katie dropped a tender kiss to her head.
“Hey, Princess.” Steve whispered, as he too pressed his lips to his daughter’s soft head, before he gave a little splutter of a chuckle. “You gave us a bit of a scare there!”
He looked at Katie, his eyes shining as he sniffed. “I’m so proud of you” He whispered softly, pressing his lips to hers, his voice cracking with emotion. “So fucking proud, Sweetheart. Look what you did.”
Katie gave a little emotional laugh, the pair of them lost in the moment, before a  loud shout from the Paramedics who had arrived cut across the room. Steve looked up and Dr Kellet held her hand up, instructing him to stay where she was before she headed down to greet them. A minute or so later, they walked into the room, giving Steve and Katie a small nod and a smile as Dr Kellet began talking them through what had happened, neither parent really paying attention.
Much to Katie’s chagrin, she released their daughter to Dr Kellet to be checked over whilst her own vitals were taken by the paramedics. Their precious baby was cleaned up and wrapped in a soft pink blanket that Steve pulled from the packed hospital bag and then, as the Paramedics moved away, Steve finally got a hold of his daughter for the first time, cradling her to his chest, looking down at her as her tiny fist raised by her face, her little mouth opening and closing slightly as she lay safely in her father’s arms.
Katie watched him, smiling as he was sporting the same adoring look on his face that he got every time he looked at Jamie. He glanced up and beamed at her, before Dr Kellet cleared her throat.
“Does she have a name yet?” She asked gently, looking over at them from where she was tapping something on the tablet she had in her hand.
Steve and Katie smiled at each other. Oh, did she have a name, worthy of the Princess she was.
“I think the new baby should be called Nala.” Jamie nodded firmly, his mind made up.
“Let me guess, after the lion?” Steve looked at him, the boy’s Disney Film of choice at the moment was The Lion King. Jamie nodded.
“We’re not calling her Nala.” Katie shook her head, “Although there is another Disney character that has a name I like.” Steve looked at her “Really?”
“Yeah. Remember that night in Scotland when we took a midnight walk to see the Northern Lights?” Steve smiled, he remembered that night very well. And he knew instantly what name she was referring to. In fact, given the circumstances in which their baby had come back, he couldn’t think of anything more appropriate.
“Aurora.” Steve smiled softly, looking at the Doctor “Aurora Sarah Natasha Rogers.”
“Rori.” Katie looked at him, and he smiled again, before he turned his attention back down to their baby.
“The Goddess of Dawn.” Dr Kellet nodded, approvingly as she noted the name down. “Fitting.”
Which was exactly why they had chosen it. Aurora had come back to them, like daybreak always returned, no matter how long the night. It was the perfect name for their perfect little girl.
Steve smiled and spotted that Aurora was getting fidgety, exactly as Jamie had done, burying her face into his chest, rooting, so he passed her to Katie. Just like she had with Jamie, although this time she knew what she was doing she positioned her to her breast and the baby began to nurse as Steve settled on the bed next to her, watching as Aurora’s cheeks worked hungrily.
“Well the good news is both your vitals are strong so I think that we can say you’re okay to stay home.” The female paramedic spoke as she looked at Dr Kellet how nodded before she turned to Katie.
“But you need to rest, Mrs Rogers. I didn’t want to worry you both before but Precipitous labour is extremely rare. In my twenty years of practicing I’ve only ever seen it four times now. You did amazingly well.”
“You’re bound to feel drained and extremely sore so rest up.” The Paramedic continued “The first signs of any problems, call us straight away.”
“I’ll see you out.” Steve smiled at them all. “You be okay here for a moment?” He looked at Katie.
She nodded, her eyes focussed completely on their daughter, and he kissed her head again before he slid off the bed, leaving Katie alone with her baby for the first time.
She felt drained, but also an overwhelming sense of happiness that it was over, and their baby was there safe and healthy. As she studied her baby some more, she saw that familiar Stark nose which was nudged against her breast as Rori fed, and she was hit by a sudden thought. Katie’s head turned sharply to the digital clock that was on the nightstand, and when realised it was, in fact, after midnight a wave of emotion washed over her and the tears slid freely down her face.
**** Outside Steve shook hands with both the Paramedics who gave him their congratulations, both stating it was an honour to meet him, before he tossed his hand at the ambulance as it drove off, and turned, helping the Dr Kellet load the bags into her car.
“Mr Rogers, it is imperative you keep an eye on your wife.” She looked at him as she closed the trunk to her BMW SUV. “That all happened so fast, her body won’t have had time to release the normal pain relieving endorphins that come with the natural cycles of labour.” Steve swallowed, a surge of affection and pride swilling round his chest before it dissipated into worry.
“But she’s okay? You said they both are, right?”
“Medically she’s fine, the baby is fine but that will have been extremely traumatic for your wife, and as painful as anything I can imagine.” Dr Kellet fished her keys out of her pocket. “She needs to rest. The Paediatrician will be along in the morning, I’ll sort all that out. In the meantime, any issues, no matter what time, hit 9-1-1 and give me a call. But for now, enjoy her and congratulations.” She shook his hand and he thanked her again before he hurried back inside. Once the door shut he leaned against it and let out a deep sigh. He couldn’t even begin to imagine how that had felt for Katie, it had been bad enough for him but, wow. Just when he thought she couldn’t possibly amaze him anymore…
He wiped his hand over his clammy brow, brushed the tear from his cheek that he hadn’t even realise he’d shed and took another deep breath and bounded back up the stairs to his wife and baby girl.
“Hey.” He smiled, before he frowned as he realised she was crying. He crossed the room and climbed onto the bed, reaching out to wipe the tears from her face. “What’s wrong, Doll?” “She was born after midnight.”
“Yeah, twenty three minutes past.” Steve looked at her, and then the realisation of what that meant hit Steve like a sledge hammer.
“It’s the 29th.” He whispered.
“Yeah, she has the same birthday as Tony.” Katie sniffed, her face breaking into a little smile.
“So she does.” Steve’s voice was choked with emotion, his eyes misting over. “And I’m sure he’s up there now mumbling something about her stealing his thunder.”
They sat in silence, Katie leaning her head on his shoulder as her sniffles and silent sobs subsided, Steve lost in his own thoughts about his Brother-in-law for a second. This was the first birthday, so to speak, that Tony wouldn’t be here to celebrate. And whilst Steve had known it was going to be an emotional day, they hadn’t banked on it being quite like this.
It was certainly bittersweet, but what a way to remember him.
Steve’s hand reached out, smoothing down the blanket Aurora was wrapped in. “She’s beautiful.” He whispered, kissing Katie’s head the pair of them simply watching their baby as she gave a milky little yawn, turning her head away from Katie’s breast.
“Has another girl stolen your heart Rogers?” She teased, looking at him as she gently rearranged the baby over her shoulder. “Your new princess?”
“Yes.” He deadpanned, and Katie chuckled as she gently rubbed at their baby’s back, before Steve tilted her face round to kiss him softly. “But you’ll always be my Queen.”
**** Of course, later on that morning, once Jamie and Emmy heard their sister had arrived they demanded to come home immediately. So Bucky and Sam did the honours, collecting Emmy from Brooke’s before bringing them both back to the house.
Jamie barrelled up the stairs where he was met by Steve at the top, his dad stopping him from bursting straight in the room to see his mom.
“You gotta be quiet and gentle okay?” Steve crouched down so he could look him in the eyes. “Momma’s had a hard time so she’s a little tired.”
Jamie nodded and Steve stood up, placing his hands on his son’s shoulders from behind as he steered him to the doorway, looking at Katie who smiled at them from where she was led on the bed, Aurora in her arms having just been fed again. Jamie walked into the room and climbed up onto the bed as Emmy stopped by Steve in the doorway.
“Are they both okay?” Emmy asked quietly and Steve pulled her in for a hug and chuckled.
“All fine, go ahead, go meet your sister.”
“She’s all pink.” Jamie peered down at the baby, wrinkling his nose.
“So were you.” Katie chuckled, kissing his head before she smiled up at her daughter.
“Mom, she’s beautiful.” Emmy whispered, her eyes swimming with tears. “Can I hold her?”
“Sure.” Katie smiled, and gently Emmy took her baby sister in her arms, holding her safely as she smiled down at her little face.
Hey Rori!” Emmy beamed, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
As Steve watched his family from the doorway, a warmth swimming in his chest, he felt a hand on his shoulder and he turned, suddenly finding himself in a huge back-slapping, rib crushing embrace from Bucky, before Sam stepped forward, to do the same.
“Congratulations, Punk.” Bucky smiled at him and Steve beamed, taking a deep breath.
“Come on, you can say hi to your goddaughter, guys.” Steve wiped his eyes as Bucky hastily did the same, before the three men stepped into the room.
Bucky leaned over to give Katie a kiss on the cheek. “Congratulations.” He smiled as he stepped back, his hand gently cupping her face as she smiled back at him, before he was jostled out of the way by Sam who bend to give her a huge hug.
“How are you feeling?” Sam asked, pressing a kiss to Katie’s head.
“A little sore and tired but I’m good.” She beamed, her eyes straying to Bucky who was now peering down at Aurora.
“Wow, she’s gorgeous.” Bucky beamed, before he looked at Steve. “You sure she’s yours?”
Steve narrowed his eyes as Sam gave a huge guffaw of laughter, Katie shaking her head as she chuckled.
“You wanna hold, Uncle Buck?” Emmy asked and Bucky hesitated a little, and Katie didn’t miss the way his metal hand fisted nervously.
“Buck,” She spoke and he turned to face her, swallowing and she nodded. “It’ll be fine.”
Tentatively, Bucky moved and nodded, as Emmy placed Aurora in his arms, a little gasp escaping his mouth as he held her securely, beaming down at her face. He glanced up at Steve who smiled back at him, before Bucky’s attention turned completely back to the tiny human he held.
Eventually, Sam got a hold too, commenting on how like Katie she looked already, before Jamie let out an exasperated sigh from where he sat cuddled up to his mom.
“Can I hold her now?” He demanded impatiently, as he sat up, his arms folded over his chest in a move that made him look even more ridiculously like his father.
“Course you can, buddy.” Steve smiled, moving towards the bed. He propped a few pillows behind Jamie so he was sat up against the head board before he scooted in, and placed his left arm round his son. Sam gently placed Aurora into Jamie’s arms and she lay there, her head supported in the crook of Steve’s elbow as he helped his son hold her.
Steve glanced up and shared a look with his wife as she smiled at him and he gave a swallow as he looked round he room before turning his attention to his boy who was now holding his baby sister, grinning down at the newest addition to their family.
To Steve, it was almost unbelievable, and overwhelming even, when he thought back to how this had all stared in a small, run down gym in Brooklyn. Where Katie Stark had walked into Steve Rogers’ life, across the warn linoleum floor and never left. No matter what the world had thrown at them, they had overcome every goddamned obstacle and Steve loved her now more than he had ever believed possible.
She was his wife, the love of his life, his baby momma, the person he had sacrificed fifteen years alone for.
The woman he would die for in a heartbeat.
His home, his world, his forever.

She worked her way through a cheap pack of cigarettes, Hard liquor mixed with a bit of intellect. And all the boys, they were saying they were into it. Such a pretty face, on a pretty neck
Anyone could spot her in the Garrison, even if they had no clue who she was. Her outer demeanor was intimidating, with or without her husband. Y/n Shelby was one of the most feared yet yearned for woman in Small Heath, side by side on the list with her aunt-in-law, Polly Gray. No one dared act a fool when she was around. Then of course, that depended on their definition of the cringe-eliciting behavior.
Men constantly tried their luck with her. Easy to spot, she sat at a table in the middle of the bar with a cigarette in her hand and a glass in front of her as she conversed with her husband’s brothers. Every time a man came around, she shot them down without hesitation. This time no different.
“Are you without partner, miss?” A male on the younger side asked with a warm yet shy grin.
“Are you without brain, sir?” Her response was serious but held slight sarcasm. Everyone who knew of the blinders knew she was married to one of the many people they didn’t want to mess with. Insulting the poor man was far better than having his eyesight removed.
“N-no?”
“Hm, quite a surprise.” She looked down to her cigarette before flicking her eyes back up to the man. “Nevertheless, a man without brain nor eyes is the same as a man with brain and no eyes.”
The quiver in his voice almost made her feel bad for the quips she’d spat. But alas, it was only almost. “What...what is that supposed to mean?”
“It means yes, I do indeed have a partner.” The brothers around her chuckled and mocked the now cowering man, Y/n herself giving an amused smile and taking a drag of the stick between her fingers.
Tommy stood behind the man, looking at him with a blank expression once he’d turned around after backing into him. He lifted a brow, not once breaking eye contact. “She’s gorgeous, isn’t she.”
The man trembled, confused. “Y-yeah-” He stuttered as he shook with embarrassment.
“Her body, face, lips... Smart one too... She’s perfect. Too bad she’s spoken for.” Tommy muttered before walking over and sliding into the seat next to her. Y/n took the cigarette from her mouth and placed it between Tommy’s soft lips, lifting her eyes to his as she watched him endearingly.
Only one man could make the infamously feared woman smile in such an angelic manner. One man and one man only. His name, Thomas Michael Shelby.
She's driving me crazy, but I'm into it, but I'm into it, I'm kind of into it, It's getting crazy, I think I'm losing it, I think I'm losing it, Oh I think she said "I'm having your baby, it's none of your business"
"I'm having your baby, it's none of your business"
"I'm having your baby, it's none of your business"
"I'm having your baby, it's none of your, it's none of your"
In hindsight, Tommy should’ve listened to his aunt’s words of wisdom. She’d told him love is crazy and makes you crazy, even Y/n mentioned it a multitude of times. Being together was only half the happy ending. Driving each other up the walls, it only drew them closer. Y/n, Tommy’s better half and Tommy, Y/n’s.
Love really did have an impact similar to the legend shrouding it’s definition. And they loved love for it.
But then the darker side of Tommy’s occupation found time to object every good thing his life had to offer. Although it didn’t tear a hole in the romance, it knocked it into a spiral that was supposed to register it as perfectly normal, sane, and very boring.
However, it hadn’t done anything large than strike a little worry into their hearts. What their enemy forgot was that nothing involving the Peaky Blinders was “normal” or “casual”, especially not boring.
It's New York, baby, always jacked up, Whole tunnels, foreign noses always backed up. When she's alone, she goes home to a cactus, In a black dress, she's such a such an actress
She's driving me crazy, but I'm into it, but I'm into it, I'm kind of into it, It's getting crazy, I think I'm losing it, I think I'm losing it. Oh I think she said "I'm having your baby, it's none of your business"
Tommy sent Y/n with his brothers and sister while he took care of things at home. He remembered holding her in his arms with a sincere apologetic but loving look in his blue orbs. The smell of her lingered on his collar. She refused to let go of him until John shouted that the train would be leaving without her had she stayed put.
“Wipe your eyes, my love. I’m not worth the tears-”
The sound of her palm coming into contact with his skin made Ada jump with a shriek from beside her other brothers. “Thomas Michael Shelby, don’t you dare fucking say that. That is...that is... It’s bullshit!” Tommy chuckled softly. Y/n couldn’t help but join in, “Stop laughing at me, you fucking- fucking bloody handsome asshole.”
“Alright alright... Promise me you won’t cry...at least, not anymore than you already have. For if you cry, it’ll break my heart and then I fear I won’t have the heart to see you off.”
“Tommy Shelby? Not having a heart? Are you sure me crying will be the cause in this scenario?” She jabbed with a giggle.
“Say what you’d like, Y/n, but my word remains true.” He pulled her closer and their lips collided. There, only for a moment, it felt like time had stopped just for them. “Go with them, stay safe and hidden, always carry your gun, and only have close friends deliver messages. They’re fucking listening on the telephones...”
It was the same things he’d said since they’d started planning this. Always with the essentials that probably really had no purpose to be labeled as essential, plus the minor setbacks that were more than likely never to happen.
Tommy was paranoid, but she couldn’t blame him. Thinking ahead and being prepared for the worst was better than not doing so and dealing with the consequences of unwanted surprise.
“I know. We’ve been over it a thousand times or more, Thomas. I’ll be fine,” she held his face in her hands as she took him in for the final time before her journey, “I promise.”
"I'm having your baby, it's none of your business"
"I'm having your baby, it's none of your business"
"I'm having your baby, it's none of your, it's none of your"
She sits beside me like a silhouette, Hard candy dripping on me 'til my feet are wet, And now she's all over me, it's like I paid for it, It's like I paid for it, I'm gonna pay for this
Their lips crashed together and thus began their dance. Practically made for each other, everything of Y/n fit perfectly with everything of Tommy. Their lips, bodies, personalities, everything. A rough performance, full of passion and lust, was regularly preformed after long days, trips, or times that didn’t cause the couple to be apart for agonizingly long periods of time, sometimes death-run-ins were audience enough for their show to sell.
Tommy refused to wait for words or sighs of relief. He would let her know verbally in the morning, if he was done with her by then. Thomas felt at ease once she was back in his arms, like the piece of himself that had been missing for far too long was finally where it needed to be.
If Y/n was to deny her liking of Tommy’s pleasant surprise, she’d be a liar.
Rarely did Y/n become the one in charge, so when she was handed the reigns, she didn’t miss a beat before getting into character. She was always his “right-hand-man” and now she had the chance to show that she was much more than the simple role.
By the end of the night, both had their fun and chance to participate as the leader to their waltz. Heavy breaths and messy exteriors, the two had shown each other the burning passion they held for each other that never died out. Tom swore to himself never to send his wife away unless her life absolutely depended on it.
It's none of your, it's none of your
"I'm having your baby, it's none of your business"
"I'm having your baby, it's none of your business"
"I'm having your baby, it's none of your business"
"I'm having your baby, it's none of your business"
The night she sleepily entered their home for the first time since they’d parted ways at the train station, he’d given her passion. He’d given her all of him. He’d given her his control. He’d given her all the love he had. He gave her his child.

white lights and tiny blonde angels
This is my @aftgexchange Fall 2021 piece for @lyndiscealin
I’ve been at work all week so I had to wait to post this today and then tumblr wouldn’t let me. This is all from an edit in my drafts, but a moment ago, tumblr let me post half of the fic. This is a new post with that first half and then the second will hopefully go up sometime tomorrow.
I am so sorry for this delay but work is work I’m afraid. I loved your long prompt so I’ve made a note of that one to fingers crossed, try and write as a gift for you. I went with this time Neil getting hurt though you won’t have a proper ending yet. Hope you like it!!!
Neil thought going for his run an hour or so before sunset on Halloween was a brilliant idea.
How wrong he was.
The streets were clear of kids at this time of the day, the sky not yet dark enough to create that added fear factor of walking around in creepy costumes and asking strangers for sweets. Neil frowned as he slowed his pace to side step an old lady walking her yappy dog. She gave him a little smile which he returned politely before picking back up some speed. He and Kevin, his adoptive brother, had not long moved to Palmetto and he was still unsure of the areas surrounding their apartment. Their dad, David Wymack, had moved out here years ago after they had both finished high school and were going to college in Boston. He’d only stayed out near Baltimore to not upend either Kevin or Neil’s lives, but once his boys were no longer at home, he took up a coaching position at PSU. Neil couldn’t blame him for wanting to move away; he suspected living in a place that no longer housed his deceased wife was hard. But he’d done it for them. Because he loved them.
He was happier out here now, loving his job, his new house with quiet neighbours, and he was in a new relationship with his team’s nurse, Abigail Winfield. They’d been together for a few years now, but Neil hadn't been able to meet her in person until they'd moved here. He remembered the video call coming through while he was in his college dorm room one day, his roommate Matt Boyd had not been in the room at the time. His dad had looked nervous, and it was weird for Neil not to see him,as his usual stoic self. When he’d asked Neil if it was okay for him to start seeing another woman, he had been confused. He and Kayleigh had only adopted a year before cancer had quickly taken his adoptive mother away from him. Still, his dad refused to let Abby into their lives unless both he and Kevin were fine with it. Neil had laughed as if someone had told him a joke, because of course it was fine. Since then, the woman would call them every week, fretting and fussing as any mother would. She was very excited to have them living so close now, and Neil smiled at the memory of her excitement a month or so back when he and Kevin said they were moving out to Palmetto. Kevin to work alongside their dad as an assistant coach, and Neil to join PSU as one on one Math tutor.
He was brought out of his reverie to the loud scuffling of shoes over gravel, loud enough to be heard over the music coming through his ear phones. He halted to a stop, pulling them out. Getting lost in his own head had caused him to go off of his usual route around the block. It was down a slightly darker, more rougher looking street, a few shifty looking people making their way into a run down apartment building. He suspected it was one of the small drug outlets for a town like this. The scuffling happened again but louder this time, and more importantly, it was closer. He turned on his heel looking behind him but he couldn’t see anything other than the flicker of street lights kicking in. He pulled out his phone, intent on calling Kevin, seeing as his brother was going to be on his way home from their dad’s place when he felt hot breath at his neck, and words whispered in his ear that he had not heard since he was a child.
“Hello there Junior.”
Neil spun away only to be gripped tightly on his biceps by strong hands and pushed further into a dark alley between two buildings, stumbling over his own feet and falling face first, He barely had time to use his hands to break the fall, pain spiking as the ground tore at the skin of his palms. “Now Nathaniel, is that any way to greet old friends? By trying to run away?” Romero Malcom’s low drawl made him freeze up, twisting to face both of his attackers slowly. The other man’s face was an angry sneer, seeming satisfied with the sight of Neil laying at his feet. Lola, however, was manic and almost feral looking. There was a knife in one of her hands, the fingers of her other running across the blade.
“You helped put Nathan in that hell hole, and a few days ago, someone from the inside did him in. They killed him and now you’re going to pay for a life that shouldn’t have been taken so soon.”
Neil laughed at that information, that Nathan was dead and gone, finally, and he didn’t stop laughing even as the two advanced on him.
He stuttered, when a cold blade met the skin of his cheek, cutting deep but he still laughed.
He laughed still when they dragged him deeper into the alley by his hair.
And he laughed through broken screams when Lola took a lighter to his face and arms, and Romero buried a knife in his abdomen.
He laughed and laughed and laughed as the world went dark.
oOoOo
Neil came around again, lying flat on his back and staring at the stars, stones digging into his sling. His body was on fire, pain radiating everywhere. He lifted a shaking and brutalised hand, pressing it to his lower stomach. Blood seeped through between his fingers, and his shirt was soaked through from more than just sweat. He was pretty sure he’d been lying in a pool of his own blood for a while.
He turned his head, finding his phone smashed to pieces a few feet away. Neil cursed under his breath. He tried opening his mouth to call out for help, but stopped instantly when he pulled at the wounds on his face, feeling blood run down his cheeks. His other hand shifted, fingers twitching against something rough. When Neil managed to look down again, there was a much larger rock next to him. He grabbed at it, ignoring the way the burns on his knuckles screamed in protest. With all the strength he could muster, he banged that rock against a trash can that had fallen over to his left.
He didn’t stop even when his eyes started to close.
He was just so tired.
oOoOo
There was a murmuring of voices, calling out to him. He told his dad that he just wanted five more minutes. He didn’t have school, it was the weekend.
“Come on, open your eyes dude. I’m not your dad, you’ve been hurt. Can you tell me your name?” Neil blinked slowly against a bright light. Oh, he knew this light, that light you saw right at the end. He didn’t want to die yet.
“You’re not going to die. An ambulance is on the way, but you gotta keep those eyes open.” He blinked again and realised he was seeing double. Two tiny blonde people hovering over him. The light gave them halos. How lovely. “Your vision is fine, and we’re not your angels. My brother is currently keeping pressure on that stab wound.”
Right. Lola. Romero.
Oh god Kevin was probably losing his damn mind. His dad and Abby too. He always called at the same time every day, always. “My dad, he…” he tried to move but screamed in agony. Neil relented to the hand pushing him back down. “I want my dad. Phone broke.”
He heard sirens getting closer, and the tiny blonde bear his head disappeared. The one with his hands on Neil’s stomach shifted so Neil could see him. “Whoever did this, they did quite the number in your face.” Neil flinched, because he just knew Abby was going to have a meltdown when she saw him. “Hey. You’re still attractive there, under all this grime. If I’d met you under different circumstances, I might have tried to bring you home with me.” Neil coughed, it wet and made him ache so much worse.
“I’m not, not…”
“Don’t talk anymore. You’ll hurt yourself. You can shut me down later. Name is Andrew. Do you want to tell me yours now, so I can give something to the paramedics who are coming over?”
“Neil. Is Neil.” His head spun and there were the heavy sounds of people running towards him.
And then he was out again.
oOoOo
Everything was white. Oh so very white. Machines were beeping and there was something attached to his hand. It was itchy. Out. He should take it out and the bad itchy itch would go away. Before he could pull on the offending item, a warm strong hand wrapped around his own. “That’s there for a reason, you know.”
He wanted to explain to the stranger about the big bad itch, but his mouth was as dry as a goddamn desert. “Wa…” the words cut off when bandages pulled at sore skin and he hissed.
“You can have ice chips.” Neil tried to force himself to sit up at the other voice, eyes running around the room. “Stop that, you’ll pull your stitches. Do you want to start bleeding out again?”
“Aaron, stop. Go see if his family has turned up yet.” The tiny blonde by the door, Aaron, huffed and disappeared from the room. Neil looked around again, realising he was in a hospital room. He turned his head to the other tiny blonde who had come closer, gently trying to feed him a tiny piece of ice. After one or two pieces, he waved one of his hands about, and the other man retreated. He sat in a chair by Neil’s bed.
“Wha’ ‘appened?” His words were a little slurred, but at least his tongue was no longer stuck to the roof of his mouth.
“My brother and I were on our way to meet our cousin when we could hear banging. Thought it was just some kids messing around for Halloween, but it was a constant sound, a repetitive tone. We followed it and found you lying there nearly dead.”
Ah yes. It was assaulted with an onslaught of images then. Lola and her lighter, Romero breaking his phone so he couldn’t call for help. They’d intended to let him bleed out and die, right there in that alley, alone. Neil’s breath hitched and one of the monitors started beeping rapidly. Kevin and his dad and Abby, they wouldn’t have known. They would have had some cop knock on the door to say he wasn’t coming home. The blonde man beside him, who Neil remembered had said his name was Andrew, went to press a button by his bed when a group of people stormed into the room.
His panic dissipated at the sight of his family standing there, looking haggard but so full of relief. “Jesus Christ. What the hell have they done to you?” It was Kevin who spoke but his dad was the first to the side of his bed. David Wymack was not a man who liked when his kids were put into harm's way.
“You didn’t call. You scared the hell out of us, kiddo.”
Neil smiled as much as he could. “I’m okay.” There was some more shuffling and Neil could see the two blondes who’d helped him trying to slip out of the room as his family crowded around him. “Wait.” The two meant stopped, both a mirror of the other with the way they had their hands in their pockets, and Neil also realised they were in blue scrubs. Probably Neil’s fault from all the blood he’d lost. They turned, Aaron flicking his eyes between everyone in the room but Andrew, the one who thought him attractive for some reason, only had eyes for Neil. “Thanks for saving my life.” Aaron simply nodded and turned to walk out of the door but Andrew didn’t follow immediately. He smiled at Neil, just a little one but a smile nonetheless.
“You can thank me with coffee when you’re all healed up. Number is on the table. You never did get to shut me down.” He winked and gave a two finger salute before disappearing to follow his brother.
“Only you, son, could say you had your first dating experience by almost dying.”
“What?”
Abby came over to run her fingers through his hair checking him over. “Ignore your father. You don’t need to worry about anything right now. We’ll talk about the birds and the bees later.”
Kevin laughed, but not as loud and hearty as he would usually, when Neil frowned. He gripped Neil’s knee under his blankets tightly, the only part of him that didn’t feel like it was on fire. “So oblivious, baby bro. It’ll make sense soon enough.”
Underneath all of their relief and happiness, Neil felt like they were all a bit too smug. As if they knew some secret that he didn’t.
He pushed it all aside to figure it out at a later date.
Right now, he was just glad to be alive and kicking.

In the comfort of others.
Synopsis: The lads enjoying the company of each other after doing a bit of hard labor on the Lon Lon ranch.
genre: Comfort/fluff
author's note: I worked on editing this with a editing program, so I am sorry if its not perfect still. I am just sharing this out of inspiration from another friend's personal FB post that had me tickled. then going about describing poetically to my friend how I sleep. so yeah. hope this inspires a few of you. characters are based from Linked Universe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
On a warm day of May, Twilight lay in the hammock. After helping out around the farm. Time and Malon's home stead. Time and him had been busy fixing up some of the fencing, while others worked around the farm with small tasks that needed to be done. The warm air brushed against his sun kissed skin. The sun glistening through the branches of the trees, that provide a little shade for the worn out young man. One leg dangling from the netted hammock. It didn't take long for him to be lulled into a deep slumber. His mouth slightly slack. Brow relaxed more than ever. Usually he could be seen with a face full of emotions. One arm rested behind his head and his other hand resting gently on his stomach. The older hero softly smiled as he saw the pup comfortably resting. He had just come from putting away the gear they had used that afternoon. His wife coming out with some refreshments and snacks. She kissed her husband's cheek before seeing the image he was looking at.
"looks like you wore him out?" she joked with him before making her way to the other's
Time followed, "he's use to hard labor. I wouldn't doubt he may be even caught doing the same thing back where he is from."
She smiled at him, as they reached the other's, calling them over. The others were ever so grateful for the food and drink. Wind had been helping with staking sacks of grain with the Warriors. Legend and Four went about helping with mucking and setting down fresh bedding for the barn animals. Sky and Hyrule went to looking after the animals. While Wild had helped Malon on the snacks. Something to help replenish their energy.
"I say we are good for the rest of the day. You all are welcome to just go take it easy." Time stated, placing a rag he used to wipe the sweat from his face on his shoulder.
"I agree, you all worked so hard today. I am very grateful for it." Malon chimed in.
Warriors took a gulp of the cucumber water before speaking, "where's rancher?"
"probably still out doing us with more work." snorted Legend, before biting into a sliced sandwich wedge.
"want to take a bet on that?" chuckled the Captain.
"Eh, waste of good money." The veteran replied.
"Also he couldn't anyways, he lost his fund to Sky." pointed out Four, sky in the background waving the bag of rupees.
Malon set the tray of food and drinks down on the mini table where they other's sat by, in the shade of the barn. Everyone snacked and chatted cheerfully. Time stayed quiet listening to them chatter away. At some point, Wind had grown sleepy and fell against Warriors. Time stood up slowly after having some refreshments and stated he was going off to go catch a few z's himself. The others wished him luck. Usually cause he didn't sleep at all or not very well. He could do with a long slumber. He made his way back to the house.
Four had taken to finding a more quieter place to do some reading. Hyrule went to hang by the little sugar bowls which the fairy were happily hanging out at. He watched them and every once in a while spoke to them. Warriors was trapped by the sleeping body against him, so he gently scooped up the young sailor and followed Time back to the house. Legend stuck by Four before drifting off into a nap. Sky had gotten his harp out and was plucking away at it. soft little tune.
Malon was gathering up the empty cups and such when she could hear music. She peeked over at Sky. "That is so beautiful." she said as she walked over to him. The youth blushed.
"Thank you." responded sky with a slight blush.
"Who taught you it? The melody I mean?" She asked as she sat by him.
"Hm, well a friend of mine did. Along my journey, I was taught these music pieces." he explained.
"What a wonderful friend then." Malon said. "I taught Link, a few things back in his days when we were young. Music wise." she continued.
"Oh really?" his eyes lighting up.
Malon nodded. "would you like me to sing you it?" she asked.
"that would be lovely." sky cheerfully said, placing his harp down to listen.
Malon closed her eyes and started softly singing. Swaying gently, like the wind in the tree branches. over waves lapping at the sore of a lake.
When she finished. Sky's mouth hung open. She giggled slightly. Legend had mysteriously popped over when he was woken by the tune.
"I have heard Rancher hum that tune before." he stated joining them.
"Yeah, Twi hums it to his horse. It's very calming." added sky.
"Oh does he? hm? Well it's a melody my own mother passed down to me. It was to help me sleep at night when I was very little." Malon explained. I see our song has passed down to the next generation. I wonder what other songs he may know?
"actually he seems to know quite a few tunes that he has hummed." Legend said, tapping his chin.
"sounds like there's a few of you who are a musical bunch." Malon said with a warm smile.
--------
When Wild finished helping Malon work on snacks for the others, came out. He spotted Twilight sleep in the hammock. His little sneaky side would of wanted to tip him over. However, he knew that would gain him one very angry ranch hand. Or worst being chased by wolfie, nipping at his heels. He walked over, staring at him, he had suddenly realized how exhausted he himself was. Nightmares often plagued him and Wolfie/Twilight seem to be the only source of comfort in those moments. The cub removed his boots before making his way to climb in the hammock with the Rancher.
Twilight woke with a startle and used his dangling foot to steady the hammock. The cub crawling in and flopping on top of twilight. The hammock swayed back and forth a bit. "Hm." Twilight softly grunted. He shifted a bit in a way so the Cub wasn't laying heavily on him. Wedging them in his arm and cradling him on his side. Wild settled in. Twilight used his toes to gently sing the hammock, softly humming a tune. in which lulled them both to sleep.
-------
Warriors walked along Times side as they walked to the house. The sailor softly asleep.
"He's so young, I am not surprised the hard labor wore him out." The Captain quietly joke.
Time looked over at the young hero in the Captain's arms. "younger bodies are different from older ones." Time replied. He paused seeing now the Pup and Cub all cuddled up in the hammock, deep in a restful state. Warriors pausing too.
"well aren't they a pair." chuckled The Captain.
Time smirked, "careful, same could be said about you."
"ah fair." Smiled the Captain as they made their way into the farm house.
Time dragged himself to the bed he shared with his wife and flopped onto it. Sleep coming quickly, as he drifted off in a dreamless nap. Laying on his stomach and feet hanging off the bed slightly. Warriors carefully set Wind down on his own bedroll, the young sailor however had his grip on Warriors. So the Captain took to just holding them. The sailor snuggling his head into the Captain's shirt. A trail of drool slipping from his mouth as he softly breathed. The Captain gently stroked the youths hair and then found himself falling asleep as well.
All was peaceful, on that warm day in May.

Christmas in The Heights
Nevada Ramirez x Reader. I haven’t written Nevada in a hot minute. This is for @madpanda75 who requested Nevada and lights for holiday bingo. I also had an anon from way back when request Nevada with the line: “You’re the only one who gets to call me that, you know.” from the grumpy prompt list.
CW: blowjobs, language, p in v sex.
WC: 1828
AN: Posting without editing. Sorry for typos. Also Spanish sprinkled throughout. Will post a key at the end.
***
Christmas in The Heights was a multi-sensory experience. Lights hung off the fire escapes of the apartment building. As temperatures begin to fall and the sun begins to set a bit earlier, corner fruit stands put away the limónes and naranjas and instead, put out peras, apples and uvas dangling from strings, a lot like seasonal baubles. Groups of family and friends, or Aguinaldos, would walk from house to house, singing with great cheer and as they made their way around the neighborhood, creating a spontaneous holiday street festival.
You looked down from your apartment window, smiling as you watched the Aguinaldo make its way around, with more and more people joining in. You danced around in just an oversized sweatshirt and a Santa hat as you strung up more and more lights around the apartment you shared with your boyfriend, Nevada.
You looked at the clock, after stringing up the last of the lights. Nevada was nowhere to be found. You let out an irritated sigh. Everyone would soon be arriving for Noche Buena and you told everyone during el Día de Acción de Gracias that you would happily host.
You check on the puerco asado, the delicious smell making your stomach rumble. Everything else was ready – the roast pork was the last thing to cook. You had ensalada rusa, pasteles and moro de gandules. You picked up fresh telera from the bakery along with dulce frio and spiced bread pudding. Not one to forget the little kids who would be coming – including Nevada’s nephew and niece, you picked up gomitas (and had some soaking in rum for the adults).
It was no surprise that Nevada had the apartment wired with cameras. When you’re the El Jefe, everyone wants to take a shot at you. You opened the app on your phone, scanning various rooms – no dice on Trujillo’s location. On a hunch, you decide to look in the underground garage and sure enough, he was there – working on his motorcycle.
You smile and slip on your chanclas and make way downstairs – but not before lowering the heat on the oven, lest you ruin the roast pork.
**
“Nevada, what are you doing?” You ask. “Everyone is going to be here soon – even your egotistical hermano.”
“Ya me voy.” Nevada grumbles, barely looking up at you as he works on the motorcycle. His hands are smeared with oil and he is wearing a black tanktop and worn jeans. They ride dangerously low on his hips and desire pools between your thighs. He stands up straight and comments how he’s hot, before whipping off his tank top, wiping his brow with it.
You swallow hard, your eyes raking over his lean, taut body, covered in thick dark chest hair. But the furrowed brows and scowl on his face brought you back to reality. He seemed on edge, and this was completely out of character for him.
“Oye papi, que pasas?” You ask softly, approaching him. Nevada looks at you, the frown deepening.
“Nada mami. Go back upstairs and finish getting ready – I’ll be up soon.”
You straighten to your full height and cross your arms. Your eyes narrow and your lips purse. “No me jodas. Dime la verdad mi osito.”
Nevada drops the wrench and in two wide steps, he’s in front of you, meeting you eye to eye. His normally jade eyes are dark and intense. You match his heated expression and arch a single brow.
Nevada met his match with you. You both stood there staring at each other, nostrils flaring and tempers rising. Finally Nevada backed down, taking a step back. He reached for the wrench and whipped it at the wall, the sound of the metal clattering echoing though the garage. “You’re the only one who gets to call me that, you know.” Nevada replies irritated.
“Nevada, por favor, talk to me.” You reply, your face softening. Never had you seen him keyed up like this.
Nevada hops onto a stool and rubs his hands over his face. “It’s my brother.”
“What about him?” You ask, walking over until you stood in front of him again. You leaned into him – he smelled like a mix of leather and sweat.
“Every time he comes home – to el barrio – he goes on and on about being some big shot abogado with los gringuitos. He’s a fucking sellout – even changing his last name to be one of them. And then all I hear is oye, why can’t you be more like Bryan – look what he’s made of his life and all you got is el club.” Nevada huffed.
You look at Nevada sadly. “Amor, who gives a shit. El es demasiado. You have so much to be proud of. So you amass your wealth differently, who cares? I don’t. I love you, for you. I wouldn’t be with you if you were like Bryan, so fucking uptight with his skinny bitch of a wife. I am surprised they are even coming at all.”
“They have the nanny with them and they are staying in the city – who, by the way, Bryan is fucking.” Nevada laughs coldly.
“Speaking of fucking….” Your eyes rake over Nevada’s bare chest once more. “Want to have some fun before everyone shows?”
A delicious grin spreads on Nevada’s face. “Damn mami, I like the way you think.”
Nevada hops off the stool and you wink before you remove your sweatshirt. You weren’t wearing a bra, so you were clad in just your panties. Your eyes land on the massive erection pressing against the front of his jeans.
Nevada unbuttons his jeans and it’s no surprise to you that he is commando. You take your sweatshirt and drop it in front of him, using it as a cushion as you fall to your knees, your pulse racing with excitement.
You nuzzles his warm flesh, your hands trailing up his muscled thighs. Your pussy aches as you take his cock into your hand. It’s huge and thick and you can feel every vein and ridge in your hand. It’s perfect. You lick your lips hungrily and take his cock in your mouth. His cock felt heavy in your mouth and you relished in the feeling. You look up at him, meeting his heated gaze as you bob on his erection.  The salty taste of his pre-cum floods your mouth and you let out a muffled moan as his hands wrap into your hair.
“That’s it mami.” Nevada grunts. “Suck my cock.” Both hands grip the back of my head, guiding you on his length, silently encouraging you to take more and more until the head of his cock hits the back of your throat. You choke and sputter, saliva pooling down your chin and dripping. You briefly close your eyes and relax your throat and again begin working his length.
You flick your tongue against the underside of the head of his cock. “Love your cock papi. But I like it better in my pussy.” You spat into your hand and gave Nevada’s cock a few strokes before guiding him back into your mouth. You began to rhythmically bob once more, while using your hand to help jack him off.
Nevada hisses and tighten his grip on your hair, forcing you off him. Your lips are spit shiny and swollen, your mascara from earlier in the day runs down your cheeks. Nevada drops to a squat, so he is eye to eye with you. His hand grips the back of your neck. “Is that what you want? For me to fuck you?”
You nod. “Please papi. I need it.”
“Over the bike.” Nevada growls. You nod and stand on wobbly legs, bracing yourself over the seat of the bike, your ass presented to him.
There is no teasing, no playing with your pussy – Nevada wasn’t in the mood. Instead he smacks your ass hard, resulting in your eyes being pinpricked with tears and a reddened imprint on your ass.
Nevada stands behind you and runs his hand over his length. He pats your ass with his dick before he uses his fingers to push your panties to the side. He teasingly rubs it against your folds. You moaned and tried to press against him, desperate for his cock. “Don’t worry my beautiful puta. You’ll get papi’s cock.”
Nevada grips your hips tightly and slides his cock into you, letting out a deep satisfying grunt. He fucks you earnestly, each thrust propelling you forward.
“Oh yes, just like that!” You moan. “Fuck me papi, give it to me.”
Nevada grunts as he continues to pound into you. “Damn, mamí, your pussy is so fucking good.” He grips the fat of your ass and rolls it before delivering another spank.  Nevada feels your walls flutter around his cock and he knows you are close.
“Cream all over that cock.” Nevada encourages. He reaches around and uses the rough pad of his thumb to rub circles on your swollen clitoris.
You wail his name as the coil in your belly explodes, like fireworks being set off.
“That’s it.” Nevada grunts. Just as you are coming down, he pulls out of you and turns you around. You squat and begin to suck his cock once more, tasting the combined mixture of your and his release on his cock.
“Oh, fuck Y/N, oh fuck.” Nevada groans, his cock twitching and pulsing in your mouth as he comes, unloading his seed into your warm mouth.
“Don’t swallow.” You hear him say and you look up at him once more and open your mouth, showing off his release on your tongue.
“Muy bien.” Nevada grunts. “Now swallow.” You do as told and then open your mouth once more, showing off that it is clean.
Nevada pulls you up and kisses you hard. He trails the outline of your face and for a brief moment, the ruthless blood hungry drug lord appears soft.
You press a kiss to the tip of his finger. “Now lets go back upstairs before dinner gets ruined.”
Nevada pulls on his jeans and you slip your sweatshirt on. Eventually you both clean up and head back upstairs where you finish dinner. Both of you clean up, no one is wise to the fact that you had both been fucking just an hour prior. You watch carefully as Nevada greets his brother and his sister-in-law. You hand some gomitas to the kids and they both run off to see the presents under the tree.
You hand out glasses filled with ponche de ron to Bryan and his wife, whatever ordinary name she has, and you plaster a smile on your face. Nevada whispers in your ear as you nod along, pretending to be interested in the latest legal win the attorney had.
“I don’t know what I did to deserve you.” Nevada murmurs.
You cover mouth with your drink and turn slightly towards him. “Love you too papi.”
