breaking my silence we as a fandom (collective) need to have a quick meeting. now look, we love praising fan artists and giving them lots of love which, hey they deserve it cuz they’re amazing and incredible and talented and should be revered but!! i think we need to give an equated amount of love to fanfic writers. these mfs are a) putting their time and effort into A NON PROFIT PIECE OF MEDIA entirely for their and our benefit just because they want to b) going through life threatening situations to get their chapters out c) using their talents to feed our delusions and desires d) making OUR LITTLE DUMB HEADCANONS COME TO LIFE!! THEY MAKE IT HAPPEN!! THEY MAKE IT REAL!! i will literally forever be indebted to fanfic writers bc no matter if their work gets 10000 hits 10 hits or stays in their notes app they STILL!! WROTE IT!! still took the time to carefully craft and mend their masterpiece!! made someone’s day even if it was their own!!! the fact that some of them come up with LITERALLY HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF WORDS OF FIC feels kinda undermined to me??? like mf they DID THAT AND NO ONE ASKED THEM TO? (mean that positively) LIKE THEY JUST DID? not to mention the research and genuine care that goes into some fics I’ve seen. and the fact that some try to make their fics accessible by writing it so anyone who isn’t even in the fandom understands the story?? anyway. fanfic writers all around not just mutuals (tho i love u guys) truly, you’re amazing. kindergarten teacher voice everyone say thank you fanfic writers. <3333333333

I think we can all agree that reading the perfect fanfiction is one of the best feelings one can experience. But I think we don't talk enough about the process of finding said fanfiction. Like I am a wine sommelier searching the catacombs of the castle (Ao3) for the perfect wine for my king (me). I will be beheaded if I don't make the right choice (I'll be mildly disappointed). But I am a connoiseur, I know exactly what I'm looking for. I enter the catacombs (open Ao3) and make my way to the wine cellar (search for a ship and use filters). I slowly go through every single one of the hundreds of thousands of options like a librarian searching for a book in an endless library. I'm a professional, I will not allow myself to get distracted. I know this place like the back of my hand and I know it's secrets (tags). I find a fitting bottle and check the label (read the description) I nod to myself, I check the date (when it was last updated). Perfect. Now the most important part, I open the bottle and fill a small crystal glass with the red liquid. I swirl the wine carefully under my nose, breathing in its aroma (checking the tags). I smell berries (hurt/comfort) and cinnamon (enemies to lovers) with a hint of caramel (slow burn). I raise the glass to my lips tasting its aroma, it's sweet but it has a stale aftertaste (a tag I don't like). I go for the next bottle repeating the same ordeal. Again it's promising, but just not perfect. But I can't give up. I cannot disappoint my king, for the feast will soon begin (it's time for bed). I wander deeper into the catacombs, checking bottles left and right. Exhaustion overcomes me (I get slightly sleepy) and I am ready to accept my fate. (No bed time story)

But then, after what feels like forever (10 minutes max) I finally find it, the perfect wine. It's aroma unlike anything else, a taste even the gods would envy and I know my king will be happy (I'll read the whole night instead of sleeping)

suddenly just remembered (against my will) that when i was a 12 year old roleplaying anime on quotev, i once ran into a group of hamilton roleplayers who were messing around with the hetalia group. except i found out halfway through inspecting the conversation under a microscope that actually these people were not roleplaying hamilton. they were roleplaying irl actual founding fathers.

and i do think, as an adult, that hamilton is a pretty weird thing that happened. but hamilton roleplayers are SIGNIFICANTLY more normal than irl founding father roleplayers.

i found this out because when the hetalia group's america started quoting hamilton, the founding fathers group's aaron burr responded with something like "oh, i'm a real founding father. although leslie odom jr. did a great job of portraying me in lin manuel miranda's musical." IN CHARACTER AS AARON BURR.

Hello :)

My fanfiction portrays Toby in a “realistic” / “canon” way, I use reference to his real personality. So I took these excerpts from it so you can better understand how I see him acting and talking in conversations!

1.

"I've disembowelled a bunch of people," he said casually.

"You get a knife and slit their stomach," he explained, as he mimed the action with his hand as if he was a live Tv cooking host demonstrating how to accurately fillet your salmon.

”Top to bottom!,” he looked at you every so often making sure you were listening.

”This parts a bit wet and squishy but, then you put your hand in-,”

He was cut off by Jack, who had abruptly spoken up.

"What?" Toby said in response, giggling in a manic way that sent chills down your spine.

"Scared?" He laughed again, and you sighed in exasperation as you sat down on a log, wanting nothing more than for someone to come clean and explain exactly what was going on.

”Fast food tonight Jack?” The voice responded, it’s maniacal laughter filling your ears.

You stepped back and bumped into a brunette young man who was of the same height as you.

"Is it cause you wanna write about me in your shitty news article?" Toby suddenly laughed, his smile growing even wider.

”Twitchy bastard murders hundreds?” he squeezed you close to his side.

5.

"We're all fucked up, what cliche trauma did you face? Daddy left, abused you maybe? Did Mommy die or is she a drug addict?" Toby rambled.

His joking tone was completely gone, replaced by a more serious and almost agitated demeanour. "You'll get nowhere with this stupid f*cking investigating," he continued.

“Don’t think I wouldn’t kill you right here and hang you from a lamp post” he whispered menacingly his tics getting worse as his emotions increased.

But before you could utter a word, Toby spoke up, his manic grin returning as he laughed loudly. 

"Cheer up buttercup, I'm just kidding nothing personal," he said with a chuckle, his demeanour changing to a more laid-back and jovial manner. 

7.

“Fancy seeing you f-fuckers he-re.” A sudden voice yelled down from above you, which made you jump and   let out a loud cry, Jack jumped to his feet in reaction to you.
