VAMP AU - basics vii.

So, you want to know about the Diasomnia Coven? Well, good luck finding anything out. They say this coven has a living history, and reliable documentation is difficult to find, let alone any vampires themselves.

CW: blood, death, stalking/hunting, religious imagery, dark/obsessive/possessive characters. this au is not NSFW, but it does deal with darker content and sometimes discusses sensuality and sensual topics. reader discretion is advised.

The Diasomnia Coven isn’t really a coven at all (if it was, it’d beat out Pomefiore as the oldest) - it’s a small group of vampires living just on the edge of the barrier between worlds, an offshoot of the realm where most of the true vampires reside. The future keeper of all vampires has been in mourning for thousands of years, and the others keep watch over him while maintaining a balance between both the realms. There is an abandoned village with a forgotten and decimated stone castle, miles and miles away from any humans, where they reside. The mourning keeper insists there are memories that play within the village when the circumstances are just right…

Nobody knows much about these vampires, and very few humans know they exist. They’re a sort of urban legend among the vampires though, both turned and true vampires whispering every little detail they have about the mysterious brethren living in an untouchable forest. Legend says that the Diasomnia vampires are more powerful than even most vampires within the vampire realm, and they’re awfully shrewd, too. Rather than hunt humans, they trick any who dare come close to their cursed forest to follow them to their lair, where the human is then hypnotized and used for a food source until they die. If vampires ever have to tread near the forest, they always go on an empty stomach, hoping to reduce their chances of being swept away. Many do not return.

…This is all a fabrication, of course. (These vampires just like to play a few good-natured tricks, and the vampires die often in the forest because they purposely deprive themselves of food and there are no humans around.) The truth is much more sad, and is halting the progress between the realms as well as endangering the balance of magic. But vampires are stubborn, and it’s hard to shake a man from mourning when condemned himself within sorrow for eternity.

Malleus Draconia - Lovelorn

Malleus is supposed to be the next Keeper, the closest thing to an all-powerful being with the most thorough understanding and control of all magic. However, he’s delayed accepting this position because it would mean going back to the vampire realm, and he’s got unfinished business with the humans.

A long, long time ago, while he was in the human realm studying the way magic interacted compared with how it did in the homeworld,Malleus fell in love with a human. They were witty and bright, and even in a dark period where vampires weren’t meant to be seen, they treated him with kindness and with care. But it wasn’t meant to last. Before he could properly ask them to become a vampire and live with him - before he even got to do much of anything with them, really - they were discovered and taken away, killed for fraternizing with a creature of evil.

Malleus wanted to destroy the whole village then, but it hurt when the feebleness and naivety of humans reminded him of them. Instead, he just retreated further into the forest to mourn. When he returned to the village, a thousand years plus some later, they had all abandoned the place or died out from a plague. The village was isolated in its heyday - nobody would be returning anytime soon.

Malleus believed that a soul as powerful and beautiful as his love’s couldn’t just be gone (and part of him wonders if it isn’t), but he waited long enough to realize nothing was coming to him. Still, his heart had been wounded, something that never would’ve happened if the vampire world didn’t constantly insist on being so hostile towards the humans, even during times of peace. He can’t return to the vampire world, just abandoning his love’s memory in the cold stone of the old village. He doesn’t want to work with vampires who wouldn’t care that they died, even if he’d be above them.

Malleus doesn’t venture out of the forest very often, but sometimes he explores the more populated areas of the human realm just to see what it’s like. You may meet him then, or maybe you find yourself unlucky enough to be lost in his “cursed” forest. When you aren’t scared of him and are instead thankful for the lodging he offers you, falling asleep far too easily with a “bloodthirsty” creature watching over you, he decides that he likes you. He won’t keep you in his village forever if you insist on leaving, no no! But he would like to follow you wherever you go.

He is careful not to hold you to a standard you are not meant to meet - he does not view you as a replacement for his former love. But he sees similarities sometimes, ones that remind him of what he wants more than anything. And with such tragedy still fresh in his mind, whatever you decide, just know he has no intention of letting you go so easily…maybe even if the thing that threatens your place by his side is your natural death.

Lilia Vanrouge - Living History (Vicious Cycles)

Lilia was/is Malleus’ mentor. Though never the official Keeper himself, he’s trained many, many Keepers over time and has been a friend to Malleus’ “bloodline” for many generations. It’s a pity how they all seemed to fall. Dramatic bunch, they are.

Some people think Lilia is the oldest vampire, the father of all vampires, even. He isn’t, but he is one of the first and one of the truest. He knows the history of all the covens, of all the keepers, of all the dark and light ages of fighting and peace. Honestly, he’s grown weary of it all, of how easily history repeats itself. The humans he can understand - they don’t live long enough to SEE the loop restart. But the old vampires are simply holding onto a pride that they can’t afford to have if they don’t want to eventually wind up destroying both realms…

Lilia has fought before in some of the earlier dark ages, and he’s fought on the side of the vampires. Eventually he realized what he was doing, what THEY were doing, and tried to stop the violence, but instead he was somehow twisted into a position of prestige as the Keeper’s keeper. Perhaps those he went against know that he’s never released his true power, and think it’s best to appease him to keep him quiet…

Lilia is not appeased, but he knows he’s much more help pretending to be satiated than on the run from the council trying to kill him. If anyone knows how to take down the council, it’d be him and his first-hand knowledge of vampire history. But the time has never been right. Infighting within the vampire realm would mean an influx of vampires in the human realm, which would put them in danger. Their interrealm ecosystem is much more fragile than people realize…

So now, he watches over Malleus and flits back and forth between realms to take over as Keeper while Malleus pouts mourns. He’s also the one that travels the most, hunting to bring enough blood to the four of them when they’re in need.

Lilia knows that there are many things in this world that are easy to lose. He’s seen all kinds of betrayal and hate and violence, he’s in the middle of whatever is brewing between the realms, and yet he can’t help but be endlessly endeared and amused by it all. There is a loving protectiveness to him that he is not afraid to show, should there be a situation that calls for it.

Perhaps you, somehow, some way, are related to the plot he’ll create to settle the tensions once and for all, or perhaps you are just a particularly charming human he met on his travels. But he finds himself utterly infatuated with you, and though he tries to keep his distance, purposely removing himself from you is painful and feels like he’s adding to the regret he’ll feel once you pass. So forgive him for popping in so often, dear, but you are just so entertaining!

Lilia is wise, and Lilia is patient. He knows how to bide his time and he knows when to act. Whether you are as embedded in the turmoil as he is or will never see it come to fruition (or, not until they’re already encroaching upon your realm), it doesn’t matter. Lilia will do anything to keep things as they should be, but he will never be willing to sacrifice the ones he loves to do so. And yes, that does include you.

Silver - The Cover of the Forest

Silver was a sickly human baby that Lilia happened to save one day while he was traveling the world. It sounds rather whimsical, but it’s true! Lilia found him, colicky and alone, and decided to see if he couldn’t nurse him back to health. Miraculously, he did, and once Silver reached human maturity, Lilia turned him so he’d never have to part with his precious son <3

(Malleus was very confused when Lilia floated back to the village with a baby in his arms, but Silver was such a calm baby, he didn’t mind the interruption. In fact, Lilia never mentioned it, but he believes Silver’s presence helped Malleus heal more than anything else has.)

In an abandoned village, there isn’t much to do, so Lilia taught Silver how to protect Malleus when he was away. There were times he’d have to go and fulfill the duties of the Keeper, after all, or when he’d have to go traveling, and there’s no telling if an ill-meaning human (or vampire!) could come for Malleus.

The vampire realm doesn’t technically know about Silver. They know another vampire was turned, but they don’t know how Lilia cares for him (and how he cares about Lilia.) If they did, the council might deem him a threat, so Lilia keeps his mouth shut while he’s there and doesn’t let Silver come to the vampire realm with him.

Lilia wouldn’t mind traveling with Silver sometimes, but Silver is notoriously difficult to keep awake. Lilia sometimes wonders if he messed something up when turning him, or if the illness he had as a baby is the problem - but it doesn’t bother him too much. Nobody actually ventures into the forest anyway, and he trusts Silver’s skills. Might as well let the boy sleep.

Silver has led a rather…uneventful life as far as he remembers. So he’s fascinated with you when you somehow show up in this strange corner of the world, and he’s very insistent on making sure the rumors that surround his family don’t scare you away. He’s always very gentle with you, very considerate - it’s hard to leave him, when you can no longer stay in the village and must return home.

Maybe Lilia urges him to follow you, to go on adventures of his own. Or maybe they convince you to stay, saying you’re important for something but not telling you what. Either way, Silver will always be there to protect you - you’re the first thing to kickstart his sleepy heart, after all. Of course you’re important to him.

Sebek Zigvolt - Black Knight

Sebek was born to a vampire mother and a human father. In an unusual turn of events, his father wasn't turned until after Sebek was born - which means Sebek and his siblings have a bit of a trickier time with their magic and vampiric abilities than others do.

Sebek isn't as cold as the others, his fangs are less pronounced, he can get sick in more human ways, and sometimes he even feels a slight hunger for real food. However, he's also more resistant to sunlight and can more easily blend into human crowds (although this was admittedly more useful when the village wasn't abandoned.) He can also go for longer without feeding on blood.

He was sent to the human realm to watch over Malleus (because they don’t know about Silver). Lilia hand picked him, thinking it’d be nice for Silver to have a friend around his “age.” Sebek was OUTRAGED at the questionable legality of Silver’s existence, but Lilia and Malleus urged him to keep quiet. Begrudgingly, Sebek agreed, but he gives Silver a hard time now. He’ll never admit that he’s actually grown a little fond of Silver.

Sebek thinks vampires are OBVIOUSLY superior to humans and naively believes in all of their traditions, including ones that say turned vampires are “secretly” not as “powerful” (read: important) as true ones. He gets angry when you ask where he fits in on that scale, as a technically half-vampire.

Over time, Sebek has unlearned some of his more problematic vampire views, but he still feels a sense of loyalty to the vampire realm. It’s how he was trained in his knightly duties, and he trained so well he was able to help defend the Keeper…! 

But Sebek has never met a real, true human before. He’s met his father and Silver, along with other turned vampires, but never a real, full human. When he meets one for the first time, he’s mumbling this and that about how puny and weak and useless you are. But eventually, he warms up to you, and if he somehow winds up in your more populated town, he quickly finds what’s so…endearing about humans. What’s so endearing about you.

Sebek’s faith isn’t in the vampire realm per se, but more in himself and the things he learned. His faith is unwavering, whether it’s to Malleus and Lilia or to you. If you’re the one that teaches him about the things that make human life worth protecting, then the human realm should praise you forever. You just earned them one of the fiercest defenders they’ll ever have. Hopefully, they won’t ever need it.

Hello! I just wanted to say first off that I absolutely adore your work, especially the Vamp au. I've literally read all ur stuff on that twice. (Also pls make more diasomnia fics on that I'm begging you)

Anyways, I just wanted to ask on what Ortho's role in this au is because I dont think he's been mentioned before(?). I've imagined him as some abnormal vampire or maybe he's a reason that Idia wanted to be turned into a vampire in the first place. Pretty raw ideas. Can't wait to hear your opinion abt it!

i’ve replied to an ask about him and his role, but it was a long time ago!

tldr, unfortunately, ‘real’ ortho died by the time idia had the opportunity to be turned (or for ortho to be turned). so yes, he’s the reason idia became a vampire, to be able to build, and then stay with robot ortho forever.

Twist Fic Ideas

Vampire Fic:

So back in the late 1800s Azul and Ruggie were in love

Ruggie was very sick at the time and spent most of his time in bed, Azul constantly visited him and was at his beside

Rook comes in and basically kills Ruggie. 

Skip to the 2000s Ruggie is born but is trapped under Rook

Azul now owns a restaurant chain, with a secert vamp bar his saddened by Ruggies death.

One night Ruggie was trying to escape Rook on a skate bored and runs into Azul. Azul is shocked to see Ruggie again only for him to be snatched and taken away by Rook 

This is were our story begins

It's angsty 

Rook likes to collect things he finds interesting, he wanted Ruggie back then but failed to get him

Yes it has been 2 centuries Azul was asleep for at least a century before getting woken up

Okay back to the au

Heartslaybul and idnihyde are vampire hunters so are RSA

When someone is turned they get a symbol of the person who turned them (Cater and Silver have a bat cause Lilia turned them)

There are other ships but they'll be a surprise unless you want to know

The twins were turned by Rook, Vil was also turned by him

Robot fic:

People becoming robots was quite rare ans in those chases it's usely through death, if your rich enough or have the money 

Usely after this the robots intact their memories of once being human 

Jamil seen this frist hand when the Asim heir disappeared one day and never came back for weeks, hearing whispers around what's happening until Kalim return the heirs skin no longer warm and soft now a cold metal feeling 

The 2nd time his seen this was at NRC his grade had another robot, this one picked of the streets to become one, now task to serve the 2nd prince of his land

Heartslaybul had two, a picture taking 3rd year and a blue haired 1st year

Another person Jamil meets was Vil a famous actor in the year above him, then of course was shrouds younger brother

Kalim hated being a robot, he hated being stuck in a macinical body 

He felt trapped and he was, his human body gone replaced with wires, why? His parents wanted a hier to ristaned anything

Evil Kalim:

Kalim never gose to NRC, he is home-schooled he dosnt have any friends except for Jamil, who in return hates Kalim.

For winter break Jamil stays behind, kalim saddened by this decides to go visit his friend.

Jamil still OB because of Kalim

Kalim deeply saddened by this returns home early feeling sad and lonely.

Time passes and Jamil brings some friends to the scolding sands for Al'ab Nariya

Kalim deeply wants to hang out with Jamil but is scared too, he just wants to make friends with people so he dosnt feel alone

Kalim pretends to be sick so he dosnt have to go to the festival he just watches from his windowsill 

He has a snake named Mimi which he named after Jamil

Kalim heart aches, so he dose the unthinkable and causes a huge rain storm cause Jamil and his friends to stay in Kalim home

Let's just say mirror travel was broken off if Kalim can't make friends the easy way he'll do it the hard way

Jamil brings the basketball team and silver who's plus one's are 

Ace brings Cater 

Floyd brings his brother

Silver didn't bring anyone 

So Kalim sneaks off to hang out with them, Jamil is not pleased at all and try's to distract Kalim with other activities,Silver being the sweetheart he is decides to hang with Kalim 

Which usely dosnt last long until Kalim current attendiee comes and takes Kalim away

Kalim snake is venoms of course no one but Kalim knows that, Jade picks up on the breed of the snake and starts to become suspicious

Riddle is still a very strict dorm leader but more about his dorm members not revealing their vampiric nature

Ace and Deuce are baby vampires and are still learning how their ~funky powers~ work

Trey and Cater are in charge of wrangling the Baby Vamps to make sure they don't do anything too stupid

probably closer to like funky Twilight vampires than anything else tbh (so vegan)

Savanaclaw

Leona is still a lazy dorm leader so Ruggie has to pick up a lot of the slack when it comes to baby vamps

Jack helps keep some of the other baby vamps in line since he's a lot more in control of himself

they regularly hunt as a dorm and encourage dorm members to hunt outside NRC so they won't get in trouble

still maintain their beastperson-hood though, so they're like...vampiric lions and hyenas and wolves, oh my!

Octavinelle

Azul is probably the best dorm leader in terms of taking care of his idiot baby vampires

has an entire organized schedule and program for baby vamps to learn how to control themselves

Jade and Floyd as usual act as the muscle in case anything goes too wrong

also maintain their merpeople-hood so they're vampiric fish and idk that's a fun concept since some merpeople also probably eat people anyway

Scarabia

Kalim is a bit too lax about the whole baby vampire thing, trusting his dorm mates to control themselves

Jamil steps in to curve all the baby vampire's more destructive tendencies

between the two of them, they generally manage to keep their baby vamps from attacking people

they encourage their vamps to find substitutes for actual blood since they're not comfortable randomly drinking from people

Ignihyde

Idia is definitely a stereotypical modern vampire in that he doesn't see the light of day, ever

most of the dorm stays inside and doesn't interact with others anyway so

the baby vamps learn pretty quickly where to get blood from without attacking people

Ortho doesn't really need to drink blood anymore, so he's in charge of ordering it and splitting it up for the dorm

Diasomnia

Malleus didn't need more reasons for people to be afraid of him, but here he is

Lilia and Silver work together to try and control all the baby vampires

Sebek is a model baby vamp, not prone to attacking people and easily managed by the older vampires

they tend to prefer to do a balance of hunting actual people and using donated blood stores

Yes!! This was my first thought as well when I saw the places!!

Last year, a friend made a theory about what if Halloween event is going to have the students turn into the monsters they dressed up as. Lowkey was disappointed that that didn’t happen in the first event, but looking at this, it might turn out to be true 😳

Knowing that this is Halloween part 2, I bet that episodes 2 and 4 will be formatted the same way as part 1, aka battle style (or ayo what if it’s rhythmics instead? Haha jk unless). If this is the case, then it’s possible that episode 2 will have us battling mob students turned gravediggers/ghost pirates/mummies/vampires.

And then in episode 4, maybe we get to face off against the other 11 characters? 😳😳😳 And in Halloween part 1, the groovies are based off of the events of episode 4, so what if it’s the same in this event?

But also, in SM Ruggie’s voice lines, he makes mention about Ortho’s way of scaring people. So maybe there’s also a possibility that the boys will be challenged to try to scare the monsters more than the monsters scare them!

"You know, sometimes you youngsters remind me of war", vamp dad said as he stared at the younger Diasomnia students. "How so ?", He inquired. "When I was fighting by the fae's side, not a day passed without seeing mothers running as they hold their children's hands, desperate for their safety. That's how I feel when I led you all away from Lilia's cooking"

“Sometimes, you youngsters remind me of war.” Vamp! Dad said, sighing.

“How so, senpai?” One of the first years asked.

“Well, not a day went by that I didn’t see mothers desperately fleeing with their children, from some sort of disaster. That’s how I feel when Lilia cooks.” Vamp! Dad says, with a sorrowful sigh.

“You’re saying we’re children?!” One asks, frowning.

“No, scratch that! You’re saying Lilia senpai’s cooking is like war?” The other student asks.

Silver walks up to the group, looking l ill.

“No, but it could start a war. Can I get some of your antidote?” He says, looking at Vamp! Dad.

Vamp! Dad nods, offering Silver a small flask.

Silver grimaces and drinks the medicine.

“I think…I think the old man needs an intervention.” Silver says, after he finishes drinking.

Vamp! Dad nods, “I think so, too.”

You slump against the articulately carved entrance of the school building, its stone edges poking at you through your clothes. You pick at your nails while staring out into the rain that thundered through the stone pavements and focused on the silhouettes of buildings in the orange haze (a whisper of the fading daylight) just beyond. Water droplets splatter across the ground, sometimes landing squarely onto your leather loafers and adding to the littered beads that had already decorated it's dark smoothness. You would have shrunk away to preserve durability but the spangle of rain, with their little twinkling, reminded you of stars and, with it splayed against the black of its vamps, the night sky.

You had forgotten to bring an umbrella to school. You thought you had but you must’ve remembered wrong. You wouldn’t have stayed later than usual to study if you had known. Is this the world’s way of telling me I shouldn’t be putting in any effort in my academics? you wonder bitterly.

With it being so late, most of the students had already returned to their dorms. You had no one you knew who was still at the building. You have messaged a couple of your friends for help but if they haven’t replied to you yet telling you that they were busy, they left you on read. 

If no one comes, you do have a plan to run into the downpour and risk catching a cold. You just wanted to stay for a while more in hopes of a knight in shining armor.

Idia was no knight in shining armor. 

If anything he’d rather not be a part of this fairytale but, after accidentally opening your text message while playing a rhythm game (instead of pressing the brightly coloured disks on screen, he tapped on the notification that popped up out of nowhere and exited his game), Ortho pushed him to help you out. Reluctantly, he stalked over to the school entranceway in his oversized hoodie with an umbrella in his hand; a gloomier unimpressive take of a chevalier that walked on foot and nibbled on the skin of his lips instead of valiantly dashing to your rescue on a white stallion.

Rain dripped down from the tips of his umbrella then landed on bits of his hair with a hiss. His anxiousness grew with each fizzle. I shouldn’t have come, he thought to himself as he catches sight of you in the distance, Maybe I could run off before they can see me.

Too late. His glowing stands must’ve caught your attention and your gaze rises to meet his. “Idia!” you call out to him, springing up from where you sat with a smile. He clenches his grip around the umbrella handle at the sound of your voice. You said his name so warmly that the dim light of his hair shifts from its somber blue to a popping red. Your eyes widen at the sight of it, clearly amazed by the spectacle. “Woah! I didn’t know you could do that! That is so cool!”

He flushes a shade brighter at your words. Though he was undeniably embarrassed, some small part of him puffed out in pride of his incandescent fluster.

Hehe, they think I’m cool.

Jade was busy waiting tables in the Monstrolounge when he received your text message. The dinging of his phone pulled him out of his focus which reflected into a poor performance.

After serving a few wrong orders, a slightly miffed Azul came up to him and forced him to leave. "You're done for the day," Azul said stiffly, giving him a hard look, "I don't need you here if you'll keep on messing up." And with that, his dorm leader left him. He hadn't planned for it to happen and would probably have to figure out a way to make it up to Azul later but he was grateful that he was taken out of his shift. 

He emerges out of the Octavinelle dorm mirror and heads over to the school building, taking an embarrassingly bright pink umbrella with him. He would have preferred to use one less… eye-catching but this was the only one he could find. Still, he walks with a straight-backed grace, as if he was accustomed to the human body.

When he sees your sitting figure in the distance, he smiles at your dazed expression. Whatever you were staring at, he couldn't tell. What he could tell was that you were at ease. You didn't even notice him walking up to you until he spoke. "I'm sorry for making you wait long," he says, snapping you out of your trance. You look up to him through thick lashes, surprised. Your widened eyes make his pulse skitter and soon he's laughing to himself.

"Did I spook you~?" he asks, flashing you with a grin tinged with wickedness as the shadows from being under his frilly pink umbrella make his eyes seem to light up from the fading sunlight.

Your nose wrinkles. "No," you reply, "What could possibly be scary about a guy with a frilly pink umbrella?"

He blinks down at the text message, surprised to even see you sending him one. You were friends. He knew that, but for you to ask him for a favour… It felt strangely surreal to him. He almost didn't believe it to be true if not for Lilia, who came by, saw the message and congratulated him on his "blossoming friendship".

Before Malleus could leave you a reply, his phone starts acting up. Most likely because of the unbridled electricity that sizzled in his bones. So, he rushes out of his room as quietly as he could, staying away from the crowds of dorm members that lurked the halls and careful not to alert Sebek or Silver of his leave. 

Once he steps out of the Diasomnia mirror, he shuffles over to the entrance of the hall with a giddiness bubbling inside his chest. Somehow, the thought of going over to pick you up felt oddly exciting. He couldn't explain it, the sensation. Maybe if he could ask you— 

He stops himself an inch away from the pouring rain, the giddiness in him flickering out. He had forgotten to bring an umbrella. 

He should've remembered to bring one on the way out. Now, it was too risky to go back to the dorm and get one, especially if his bodyguards managed to notice his absence (which they already must've). 

I'll have to make one then, he thinks to himself, already looking around for anything he could use. He spots a tree branch close enough to the entrance and picks it up. It curved a bit to the side but Malleus thought it would be good enough to use. It takes little to no effort for him to fashion the branch into an umbrella with magic; he makes the branch grow leaves out of its end in the shape of a canopy. After confirming that there were no holes for water to drip through, Malleus sets out to pick you up, humming with joy.

hello hello ! another one of these rare end of the piece author’s notes to surprise y’all. it took me a while to figure out what noun to use for the state of being flustered. at first i thought it was “flusteredness” while writing it up last night but then i took to the internet in the morning and realized it was “fluster” i’m big dumb i forgot that it could be used as a noun sorry i've been away 😔 i've been grinding for gems for days. i tried to write but was always discouraged to continue. hopefully by finishing this piece, i'll have my drive back owo)/

Single vamp dad is in charge of Diasomnia's cooking bc of Lilia, he makes sure that Lilia has zero chance of cooking because he's in the kitchen, or he's finished so there's no need for Lilia's "help". The best threat from his sons is "I'LL ASK PAPA TO HAVE MY FAMILY EAT OUTSIDE, ENJOY YOUR FOOD". It's super effective !

Everyone unites under the threat of Lilia’s cooking. It doesn’t matter whether they were fighting earlier or not.

His cooking is just that bad.

Lilia has tried MULTIPLE TIMES to get his way in the kitchen, but the entire dorm would migrate outside the second he stepped in.

Tracking down a few members of the dorm was no trouble, but somehow Vamp! Dad’s oldest son had gotten the ENTIRE dorm to leave.

He would do it again, too.

Heck, he HAS done it again.

Multiple times.

Truly, Lilia’s cooking was that terrifying.

Sebek and Silver had been fighting once, when Lilia came up with sandwiches, and the next moment they were scrambling to leave the dorm, hand in hand.

Of course they made a note to never speak of that.

They weren’t friends!

Vamp! Dad was eventually put in charge, and he was a pretty good cook.

Any special events Lilia would automatically be put in charge of music or decorations, so that he’d be too busy doing that to mess with Vamp! Dad’s cooking.

Honestly, Lilia is very aware of how his cooking is, but he enjoys the reactions of the students.

It is very amusing.

He should tell that to their tastebuds, but it’s Lilia. He probably would.

Papa vamp helping the entire diasomnia with Lilia's cooking though. "The trick when you eat something you dislike is just to cut into small pieces, then directly swallowing it. Drink a few times to push the food down your throat", oh and he also put this numbing plant into Lilia's cooking so that the boys will not taste it (doesn't stop them from getting sick though). Good thing that papa prepared an antidote.

Vamp! Dad has been around long enough that he knows all the best homemade remedies. He’s also had to deal with Lilia’s cooking for a couple hundred years.

After many years of practice he discovered the proper formula to get rid of any side effects.

Unfortunately, on the few days Lilia did catch them in time for dinner, they still had to eat the food.

The first thing Vamp! Dad did for all new members of Diasmonia was show them how to eat Lilia’s cooking.

The key was to cut it up slowly, but politely.

After that, they had to slowly sip their drink.

It was bad enough that if they chugged they’d get ill. Fortunately Vamp! Dad slipped a few cloves into Lilia’s dish, so their tongues were already slightly numb.

Afterwards he gives the trembling first years his formula.

Vamp! Dad isn’t exactly a doting parent, but he does feel bad for the first years. They’d never had to put up with this before.

So, naturally he treats them to dessert.

“It gets better as time goes on.” Vamp! Dad explains.

The first years nod, looking ill.

Maybe this was why they rarely got any new members in Diasmonia?

They weren’t unapproachable.

It was the food.

Vamp! Dad hadn’t heard the rumors about the initiation to Diasmonia involving being poisoned, if he had he would have laughed.

One of the first years offered him a smile, “You saved my life.” The student said, and Vamp! Dad choked on his drink.

“You would have lived.” He says, laughing.

“No, I don’t think I would have.” The student says, wishing him a good night, before leaving.

That was that.

Vamp! Dad headed back to bed, chuckling to himself.

If only his kids were so well behaved. Smh.

Vampire dad and Lilia babysitting each other's kids though aaaa. Probably the second dad of Diasomnia. Vamp dad's kids go to Lilia when dad's angry, while Malleus, Silver, and Sebek go to vamp dad whenever Lilia's cooking. Wait wait imagine one of the sons knocking at vampire dad's room at 1 am when he's resting though. "Dad..I need to bring this rare plant for potions class", "When do you need it ?", "..Today"

Deep breaths, vamp! Dad, deep breaths. It’s one in the morning, and he’s probably already functioning on like three hours of sleep.

I definitely feel like Lilia would be the go between:

Like, “I forgot to tell dad I needed something again,” and Lilia being the patient person he is, would just sit and listen.

Therapist friend! Lilia is definitely canon.

Though, I definitely see them both going out once a month to get food or something AWAY from the kids. Like, come on! Who wouldn’t? It’s 1 AM.

Vamp dad’s oldest was walking with one of his friends in Diasmonia, the two were comparing notes from class. Suddenly, his friend stumbled, falling over. The school shoes were incredibly difficult to keep tied, and Vamp! Dad’s son burst out laughing.

His friend sighed, “Yeah, yeah. Laugh it away. Next time you trip, I’m filming it.”

Vamp! Dad’s son huffed, in mock offense. “I never trip. My reflexes are too good for that~!” He teased, earning another sigh from his friend, who muttered “Say that to your Dad’s shoe.”

The Diasmonia first years looked between the two, slightly concerned.

“Senpai, aren’t you going to stop them?” One asked quietly.

“Stop them? Of course not. I laughed at Lilia when his bangs were scorched off by the prince. Why would I stop them?” Vamp! Dad said, shrugging.

The first years stared at him in horror, but Vamp! Dad continued unfazed.
