Here are 𝟭𝟬 Easter Activities to do with the family!
𝟭. 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗴𝗴 𝗵𝘂𝗻𝘁/𝘀𝗰𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝘂𝗻𝘁
Plan an easter egg hunt for your little ones. My children love searching for clues & chocolate eggs around the house or if it's dry, doing it outside in the garden.
𝟮. 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀/𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀
Growing food, such as planting seeds teaches children about nature, nutrition, responsibility for caring for something, and about where their food originated. It could even help picky eaters develop more of an interest.
𝟯. 𝗘𝗴𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴
Make hard boiled eggs and paint or colour them with pens. A great tradition in most households & there are lots of tutorials online for how to decorate them up!
𝟰. 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲
The tradition in Germany to decorate the branches of trees and bushes with eggs for Easter. The egg is an ancient symbol of life all over the world. Eggs are hung on branches of outdoor trees and bushes and on cut branches inside
𝟱. 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝘀
You can buy pre-made items like sticker books, scratch art, Bird Houses, pottery, masks etc or you can look online and print out alsorts of items from hats to colouring sheets
𝟲. 𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗲!
Get your culinary head on and bake up a storm. There are lots of Easter based recipes out there for you to try. It can be as simple, messy and fun as you want it to b
𝟳. '𝗘𝗴𝗴' 𝘁𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴
Fill up some water balloons and play a game of 'egg' toss. The aim is to keep the balloons in one piece as you throw them from person to person. If you're feeling really brave, use real eggs!
𝟴. 𝗘𝗴𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀
Put the decorated boiled eggs to good use and have yourselves a good old fashioned sports day - inspired fun in the garden with a family egg and spoon race.
𝟵. 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗻𝗶𝗰
This one is always weather permitting in Scotland - but sunshine always seems to fall on the bank holiday weekend. You could meet up with another family and plan a picnic in the park with the kids.
𝟭𝟬. 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵
An Easter wreath is the best decoration for a front door, hallway, or as a spring table centrepiece - always give a Spring aesthetic

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗗𝗮𝘆 📖
The purpose of World Book Day is to provide every child with a book of their own, which the charity does by supplying children with book tokens. Children can then pick a book from a selection of authors, which they get to keep.
World Book Day was created by UNESCO on 23rd April 1995 as a worldwide celebration of books and reading. It is marked in over 100 countries around the globe. The first World Book Day in the UK and Ireland took place in 1997 to encourage young people to discover the pleasure of reading.

With Winnie now starting Primary school and my eldest now at Secondary School it's really reminded to me has fast it goes... How one second we are going through the motions of the night feeds, how we are looking forward to those first steps, to weaning, to potty training - the first day's of motherhood is exhausting and you lose yourself in the day to day. You lose what was once your identity and changed into a new person - for me it was the better of course (cliché to say I know) The first step into motherhood is scary, I questioned my sanity each day, it felt isolating at times, there's the post partum phase, the everything phase. Then they start school and making steps without you and it's like you have to discover yourself all over again. The parenthood guilt of not being the best 𝘺𝘰𝘶 you can be is there each day - the failures I've had and how it's affected them will be everlasting and at times consuming.
The past few months I've felt lost without the toddler groups (weird right?!) and my little sidekicks shopping with me or cooking with me (I even miss one of them kicking off and laying on the floor at the concept of entering a supermarket, or pushing a sleeping baby in a trolley)
Motherhood is the hardest thing I've ever done in my life, I was a single parent from the get go and without family support I don't know how I would've got through it but I did, we got through the nappy changes & the initial development and now we are onto the next step of life. Oscar still sleeps in my bed, he's my little mamas boy and Winnie still wants hugs and stories but my 12 year old is becoming her own person... And yeah I guess I miss the days she'd climb into my bed and tell me about her day and snuggle. Growing pains I guess.

Every year on November 5, skies across England, Scotland and Wales are illuminated by fireworks as Brits head out into the night to enjoy Guy Fawkes Night celebrations.
Also called Fireworks Night or Bonfire Night, this autumn tradition has been a staple of the British calendar for the past 400 years

𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀
Victoria sponge cake is a British cake. It's a vanilla sponge cake that is sandwiched with jam and buttercream (or whipped cream)
𝙄𝙣𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨
𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙅𝙖𝙢:
• 500g/1lb 2oz strawberries, hulled and halved
• 500g/1lb 2oz jam sugar
𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙚:
•175g/6oz unsalted butter, at room temperature, plus extra for greasing
•175g/6oz caster sugar
•3 large free-range eggs, beaten
•1 tsp vanilla extract
•175g/6oz self-raising flour
•300ml/10½fl oz double cream
•icing sugar, for dusting
𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱 for the jam
1) You can just use pre-made jam from a jar to save time. Place the strawberries in a large saucepan and crush with a potato masher.
2) Add the jam sugar and heat gently, stirring continuously, until the sugar dissolves.
3) Keep stirring, increasing the heat, bringing it to a full rolling boil, one that bubbles vigorously, rises in the pan and cannot be stirred down.
4) Start timing and boil for four minutes only. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool.
𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱 for the sponge
1) Preheat the oven to 190C(170C fan)/375F/Gas 5. Lightly grease the tins with butter.
2) To make the cakes, cream the butter and caster sugar together until the mixture is pale and light. Gradually add the beaten eggs, mixing well between each addition and scraping down the sides of the bowl from time to time. Add the vanilla extract and mix to combine.
3) Sift the flour into the bowl and fold in until the mixture is glossy and smooth.
4) Divide the mixture between the mini sandwich tin cups and level with a teaspoon.
5) Bake on the middle shelf of the oven for about 15 minutes until golden-brown and springy to the touch.
6) Leave the cakes to cool in the tin for two minutes and then ease onto a wire cooling rack and leave to cool completely.
7) Whip the cream to soft peaks and spoon into a piping bag fitted with a small plain nozzle.
8) Cut each cake in half horizontally with a bread knife.
9) Pipe one dot of the cream in the middle of each cake base and the rest in dots around the edges. Drizzle the jam over the cream, place the sponge tops on and lightly sift icing sugar over the cakes
