no actually lemme reverse all this self loathing
there is TOO MUCH to know out here. too many shows, books, movies, niches, knowledge bases. it all moves TOO FAST. i am a sort of lumbering creature, slow not out of simplicity but as a side effect of complex, haphazardly wired circuitry, like Howls Moving Castle, like a tree bent in so many odd directions it resembles a calligraphic letter, yet still against all odds, living joyously in the forest despite inconveniencing the straight and upright growth of its companions. everything whizzes by and i miss opportunity after opportunity for income, chance after chance to connect. but this does not mean the gift of life is wasted on me. it does not mean i am broken for being unable to do anything but persist silently and find odds ways to survive. In another era i would happily be tending sheep in the hills watching the birds on a fence and writing poetry to the gods of the forest, and coming home at night to someplace humble to eat plain food, and maybe I would dream of ships and big port cities and taverns full of debauchery, but upon running away there to dance and beg, think to myself how much better suited I am to the hills and my sheep, and come home. the world is huge and fast and spinning and shiny and dangerous. i do tire of hiding from it, but really am such a small bird in a big forest. what i can do matters, what i do know and where i do go, matter. even if only to a few people, or some plants, or a very old cat who loves me. i have spent so many years yearning to be Big and say and do Big things, to be respected and heard after being silenced and trampled. my body knows the wisdom in my heart and wants to share it. but even the Biggest beings start as little scrawny saplings, and only grow through being nourished, encouraged, and fighting through challenge with their inner Light and Will to Live. having spent so long trapped Below in the underworld of inversion, self-absorption, suffering, pain and self-negation and denial, Beginning will not be easy for this little seedling. we are delayed in many ways. but the only way to learn anything is to tap into our Self, as small and pitable as it may seem, and feed and nurture her. not to stay distracted by the shiny whooshing things and the enjoyment others seem to be taking in Participating in the World. its okay to be small, silent and strange, because that is still Being and to Be is a gift as well as a curse. i don't have to understand or know everything or talk to everyone or be liked. I just have to find a way to Exist. it is with grief and sadness i let go of the Dream of being anyone else but myself, but also joy. because I do not need to fit myself into clothes not made for me or identities. I am not whooly Formless, my spirit has been split from my body, floating upwards and away into dissociative realms, so long it forgot we already have a Shape to Wear and care for down here on Earth. i call back my spirit into my body. i call back my life from everyone it has been poured into. i call back my heart from the people who did not understand its gift. i am my own being and i make my own choices, and I will heal from this pain. there is still so much to be grateful for and so much that can be used. there is still time, and hope for all these fragments to meet.

ngl I'm not a fan of how the very necessary discussion of how autistic girls (and many poc for that matter, not that we usually remember this) often end up masking hard due to the pressure to "be ladylike" or "not be too angry" and therefore end up being seen as "very polite" and "mature for your age" and so on and so forth is morphing into being less about how social pressures may impact how autism presents and more about saying "so there's Girl Autism and there's Boy Autism and Girl Autism makes you nice and polite and pleasant but Boy Autism makes you gross and annoying and rude and offputting and no it's not ableist at all to say that being overly excitable or trying to get a turn to talk when you don't know when your turn is or struggling with arbitrary rules is rude and annoying because Girl Autism exists uwu"

fellow autists, repeat after me:
“if someone hates me because i’m autistic, thats not a person i want to be around.”
we don’t need everyone to like us! if they hate us just because of who we are, we shouldn’t try to change ourselves to adapt to their needs.

Trans research and scientific consensus
(2020) - Study of 139,829 students finds that in comparison to other students, transgender identity, especially non-binary identity, is associated more with perpetrating bullying than being bullied. Non-binary identity was most strongly associated with involvement in bullying, followed by [transgender] opposite sex identity and cisgender identity.
(2023) 21 leading experts on pediatric gender medicine from 8 countries wrote a letter to Wall Street Journal expressing disagreement over how gender dysphoria in youth is treated, voicing concerns against things such as the affirmative model and research conducted outside of the US has found hormonal interventions for gender dysphoria to be without reliable evidence. Among these international experts is Dr. Rita Kaltiala, chief psychiatrist at Tampere university gender clinic and author of several peer-reviewed studies on trans medicine and Finland's top authority on pediatric gender care.
Tumblr media
(2023) Landmark study from Denmark on 3,800 transgender patients pulled data from hospital records and applications from legal gender changes and discovered 43% of this group had a psychiatric illness compared with 7% of non-trans group, and despite "gender affirming care" and legal gender changes, still had 7.7 the rate of suicide attempts and 3.5 times the rate of suicide deaths. Researchers state this rate is likely even higher due to missing data.
(2016) Study finds association with increased risk of multiple sclerosis for trans women taking estrogen/reducing testosterone levels.
(2023) Metadata study shows, at best, no improvement for patients in gender-affirming care. "The conclusions of the systematic reviews of evidence for adolescents are consistent with long-term adult studies, which failed to show credible improvements in mental health and suggested a pattern of treatment-associated harms. Three recent papers examined the studies that underpin the practice of youth gender transition and found the research to be deeply flawed. Evidence does not support the notion that “affirmative care” of today’s adolescents is net beneficial."
(2011) Long term follow up of 324 transgender people having undergone sex reassignment surgery in Sweden, found that trans women retained male patterned incidents and rates of violence and had a greater significance and rate of rape and sexual violence than cisgender men. The study also found, "Persons with transsexualism, after sex reassignment, have considerably higher risks for mortality, suicidal behaviour, and psychiatric morbidity than the general population. Our findings suggest that sex reassignment, although alleviating gender dysphoria, may not suffice as treatment for transsexualism, and should inspire improved psychiatric and somatic care after sex reassignment for this patient group."
(2020) Largest study to date on 641,860 people finds association with autism and "gender diversity", "Gender-diverse people also report, on average, more traits associated with autism, such as sensory difficulties, pattern-recognition skills and lower rates of empathy — or accurately understanding and responding to another person’s emotional state".
(2022) US study examining 10 years of data on 952 people finds large percentages of young adults prescribed hormones for trans identity no longer getting the drugs 4 years later. Discontinuation rate for both sexes combined = 30%. Female discontinuation rate as high as 44%. The standard disinformation pushed is that only 1-2% of people who begin medical transition end up desisting. But these figures show that in this cohort of young adults, the overall rate of discontinuing hormone treatment ranged from a low of 10% to a high of 44% within a space of just 4 years.

Psychiatrist Meng-Chuan Lai has observed the recent rollout of laws restricting gender-affirming medical care in the United States with concern, he says. Some legislators have justified these bills, at least in part, by pointing to his work: In 2020, Lai co-authored a study that found transgender and other gender-diverse people are three to six times as likely to be autistic as cisgender people are. Lawyer Tom Rawlings, for example, says he read about Lai’s findings in Spectrum. Last spring, Rawlings helped draft Georgia’s Senate Bill 140, which passed in March and cites the overlap between autism and transness as one reason to ban gender-affirming hormone replacement therapy and surgery for minors. An Arkansas law that also passed in March similarly points to an autism diagnosis as grounds to withhold gender-affirming care from minors. And an “emergency rule” issued by Missouri’s attorney general in April — but terminated in May — would have mandated autism screening for anyone seeking gender-affirming care, including adults. Such policies are driven more by personal ideology than by anything his research suggests, says Lai, associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Toronto in Canada and a clinician at Toronto’s Center for Addiction and Mental Health. Researchers have known about the link for more than a decade. By one 2022 estimate, about 11 percent of trans people also have an autism diagnosis. “That research is real. We don’t dispute it,” says R. Larkin Taylor-Parker, legal director at the Autistic Self Advocacy Network. “It’s been going on for years, and it’s been replicated in multiple studies.” What’s new, they say, is that politicians are misusing the link to argue that “autistic people are incapable of making decisions about our own care.” That misuse has some scientists trying to figure out if — and how — they should push back. Anna van der Miesen, a postdoctoral researcher at the VU University Amsterdam in the Netherlands who has researched the link between autism and transness, says that if your research data are used to pass laws, and “the actual study had nothing to do with the laws at all,” then it’s time to speak up. “We have a responsibility to communicate what the data says, and what it does not say, to the general public — and also to policymakers,” she says.

Shout out to anyone who has a demonized diagnosis, cluster b disorders, mid or high support needs autistic people, all disabled people, anyone with sensory issues or texture issues, people who get overwhelmed easily, people who find it hard to do things alone, people with trauma, anyone who uses a mobility aid, people who struggle with social interactions, and people who feel awkward in their skin. We are not burdens and we deserve to feel good, we deserve to happy and have good things in our lives. We are not broken people. We are amazing and just as special as anyone else.

Here's to autistic systems!
Plurality is often co-morbid with other neurodivergencies; today, we're going to talk about one of them, autism!
Shoutout to:
Systems whose special interests influence their plurality
Plurals who are nonverbal, semi-verbal, verbalflux, or lose speech depending on who fronts
Multiples that experience sensory overload, autistic meltdowns and burnout, etc.
Those who feel left out of conversations surrounding being plural due to being autistic
Headmates that are autistic symptomholders, or headmates that experience the body's autism differently
Recently diagnosed/discovered autistic systems, systems who have known they're autistic for a long time, and self diagnosed autistics
Those who feel they don't quite fit in with allistics/neurotypicals
And anyone else I missed!
We're autistic, too! We just wanted to share that we love our fellow autistics, and to let them know that you are loved and appreciated ❤️ Always!
Stay safe!
🖤💜💙💚💛

The Tavistock performed gay conversion therapy in broad daylight, while undertaking medical experiments on kids with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/it-feels-like-conversion-therapy-for-gay-children-say-clinicians-pvsckdvq2
So many potentially gay children were being sent down the pathway to change gender, two of the clinicians said there was a dark joke among staff that “there would be no gay people left”.
“It feels like conversion therapy for gay children,” one male clinician said. “I frequently had cases where people started identifying as trans after months of horrendous bullying for being gay,” he told The Times.
Transing the gay away is what Iran does.
