BSD Dead Apple manga highlights!!
Tumblr media
Kunikida is insane. "Oh yeah getting shot in the gut is no big deal dwai" and then he proceeds to run around and fight both his own Ability and Demon Snow after this. Jesus.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kunikida's so resourceful tbh. I love watching him fight. Akutagawa's later fight with Rashoumon (where he demonstrates similar resourcefulness using the molten metal) is also cool for the same reason, because like it's one thing to be TOLD these characters are cool under pressure and smart as long as Dazai's not there to piss them off and a whole other to be shown it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SO THIS CONFIRMS MY THEORY. I need a fight scene where Yosano detaches her limbs and uses them as weapons after she heals them omg she's so fucking badass. Side note the fact that Kenji and Yosano held up so long against their Abilities is so impressive? Like all of them are ofc but Undefeated and Thou Shalt Not Die are both like, extremely powerful. Your fighting a power that rearranged a mountain and a power that basically can't be killed. Like damn.
Tumblr media
Lmfao Akutagawa's main priority is watching their Abilities fight each other
Tumblr media
D A S H
Tumblr media
I love how casually he says this lmfaoo Also LMAO AKUTAGAWA DO U HAVE SOME UNRESOLVED FEELINGS TOWARDS DAZAI OR SOMETHING?? HMM??
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Confirmation Dazai fucking hates both of them. He was probably tearing his hair out internally this whole time. Literally him going "friendless behavior" at Shibusawa lmao- ALSO THE 'MEOW EXCHANGE. HE ACTUALLY MEOWED. THIS IS SO FUCKING DRY LMFAO.
Tumblr media
Akutagawa's monologue is conveyed in a really cool way via manga adaptation... like DA has some great development for Akutagawa, Kyouka and Atsushi, but Akutagawa's in particular stands out to me because it doesn't really disprove his strength-based worldview?? He finds his own self worth through that view instead which is interesting, by overpowering his Ability instead of finding somewhere he's valued beyond it like say, Yosano.
Tumblr media
This is also SUCH an interesting panel. "That I control Demon Snow/That I didn't want to hate her" it's like Atsushi has previously only seen Kyouka as a victim, as being controlled against her will and never wanting any of the violence she partook in when this kinda... confirms it's not all the case? DA as a whole kinda tries to break Atsushi's black and white worldview but I also think, between this and how well Akutagawa and Kyouka work together in DA, there was likely a part of Kyouka who knew she was good at killing and violence, and liked that about herself, if nothing else. The ability to not be completely helpless, even if her circumstances as a whole were not within her control.
Tumblr media
"Are you fucking serious" he is SO DONE with Dazai's shit lmfao.
Tumblr media
Soukoku are fucking insane. What do you MEAN you noticed Dazai's hidden message from a mention of a microscope. What do you mean you remember all your interactions with him that clearly. What do you mean-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ohh my fucking god is that a tear in the last panel?? Oh my god did Chuuya mean he just doesn't want Dazai to stop him in Corruption. Chuuya cannot catch a fucking BREAK oh my god.
Tumblr media
So Ango is also suicidal right?? Like sure he has a reason for saying this but also this is not a normal thing to say. He uses Chuuya's vow to kill him to try and stop Chuuya from what he sees as a suicidal mission later. Like this is not normal.
Tumblr media
"Dazai doesn't care about the ADA!" shut the fuck up
Tumblr media
Oh my god. This was so fucked up oh my god. Poor baby Atsushi oh my god.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The repetition of "I raised by claws" is SO chilling here omg. But I also find it so so interesting that I think Atsushi is... the only BSD character who just... wants to live. Not for other people, he definitely doesn't want to die. Like so many characters in BSD (Dazai, Yosano, Chuuya, Kunikida, Kyouka, Ango, arguably Akutagawa) are in some manner suicidal, or even the ones who aren't have reasons they life for. But Atsushi's base desire is just... he wants to live. That's where his Ability comes from. It's why he killed Shibusawa. It's so interesting.
Tumblr media
So there are two sides to Fyodor's Ability. But he CALLS HIMSELF crime in this case?? Bc the Crime avatar is wearing what Fyodor was wearing. I've seen theories Fyodor himself is just the manifestation of his own Ability or something and tbh... that might have merit.
Tumblr media
Tbh, I often wonder how Ango ended up working with the government. It's repeatedly mentioned how he dislikes and opposes their use of human lives as value metrics, or plans like this for the 'greater good', and yet he still does their bidding. He's still here. Even though no one listens to his oppositions. Why?
Anyway so if anyone has manga translations past Ch 13 please help I can't find any lol.

Tumblr media
Koyo and Chuya had been looking into the cult, trying to find information fast enough that it wouldn’t ruin your plan to take Hibiki; however they couldn’t find anything on the deity that they worshipped “you really think it all comes down to who they worship?” “Of course it does.” Koyo muttered “they wouldn’t have any followers if it didn’t.” “What if it’s just one of the old gods, the ones we already know about.” Chuya waved her off and she shook her head immediately. “It’s not one of the old gods, it’s something that inspires fear given the fact that they’ve amassed so many followers in such little time.” Koyo explained as she looked through the information laid out on her desk “do you know what people fear these days?” “Not one particular thing.” Chuya answered. “Find out, I bet that would be the one way to figure out what they’ve been fighting for.” Koyo ordered. “Sure.” Chuya nodded as he walked out of the office to order his subordinates to start investigating.
Hibiki had been with the ADA full time for a while now helping wherever she could, with paperwork, medical supplies or in the garden today she was having lunch with Kunikida in the office while they both worked through all of the paperwork that there still was to do. “How have you been feeling? Do you feel safe here?” Kunikida asked. “It’s nice to have the support of the ADA, I’m still scared sometimes but you guys are here so thank you.” She said as you pushed a finished piece of paperwork to the side. “It’s our job to help the people that need it, you don’t need to thank me, I’m glad that we have helped you.” He said as Kenji walked into the office holding a flower, he passed it to Hibiki and smiled. “I thought you might want one of the flowers you helped grow,” Kenji said excitedly and she smiled, accepting the flower as Yasano called over. “Hey Hibiki, I just bought this new cake, us girls gotta stick together, we’re going to eat it before the boys get a hold of it, you coming?” She asked, they could all see the tears welling in her eyes but none of them said anything. Dazai watched with a careful eye from across the office as she got up and walked towards Yasano.
The next day Dazai and Atsushi sat at the docks waiting for any sign of the mafia, Atsushi hadn’t seen anything yet, just couples, families and children, there was no one around, if the mafia were ever here everyone seemed happy to have them, maybe this executive that everyone was talking about wasn’t that bad. Atsushi’s eyes found a clock on one of the stalls and stopped turning to where he had last seen Dazai as he spoke “It’s almost lunch are you hungry?” No answer because Dazai wasn’t there “Dazai!?” “Come on, you can’t tell me anything else?” Dazai asked as Atsushi finally caught sight of him with an officer. “It’s a private investigation, I can’t tell you anything else.” The officer said “and if you keep asking I’ll have to arrest you.” Dazai dropped to his knees in a dramatic display of heartbreak as he spoke. “I’m heartbroken, I thought we had something.” Atsushi watched in complete confusion as he got closer, Dazai noticed him “Atsushi! Please, I need your help. My heart has been broken and the only way to make sure that it heals is to get me a pork bun.” Atsushi was used to these outbursts at this point but when he looked over at the food stand he groaned, the line was the longest line of all of the food stands. “Of course it’s the longest line.” Atsushi mumbled but as Dazai got louder he decided that the best option was to just do what he said so he walked over to the line to get Dazai what he wanted.
You walked into the restroom, disguised as a tourist, you were waiting for Hibiki to show up but as it stood there was no sign of her yet, you sent a quick text to check in with Koyo and Chuya before securing your knife and heading back out of the restroom, when you walked out your eyes feel on Dazai, you smiled and attempted to walk past him “Has it really been so long that you forgot about me?” He asked. “We both know I’d never forget about you… How’d you find me?” You asked. “I almost didn't, you've gotten better since we worked together but you're still too wary of everyone around you, once I started looking I could definitely see you. What are you doing here alone? Not even Chuya is here. Reckless almost like you haven’t grown up…What does the mafia want with Hibiki anyway?” “There’s a cult running around in Yokohama, it’s making my work very difficult, that’s all I can say.” You answered. “Have you found anything?” “I have something that I could tell you but in return, you have to promise not to kill any of the ADA members and how about you don’t use any weapons when you fight them.” Dazai wagered and you nodded. “I promise.” You nodded. “I don't trust her, I haven’t since Kunikida brought her back, she’s lying, I can’t find Aoi Nakamura the man that was supposed to have hired her and her ability is interesting too.” Dazai answered. “I’ll give you more time, find out what you can, I’ll send out the final warning in 4 days.” You informed him, your eyes shifting to the weretiger across the dock. “Is the weretiger your friend?” “Friend?” Dazai asked. “I guess.” “I’m glad that you have new friends.” You said finally walking away, you couldn’t see him Dazai looked in shock before a small smile crossed his face, one that he would deny should anyone ask him about it.
You walked back into the base pulling the wing from your head as you did “your back!” Chuya called, you looked over at him and saw that he was coming from the infirmary. “Did you get hurt?” You asked, Chuya frowned. “No, why?” He asked, You jutted your chin in the direction that he came from and he shook his head. “I was visiting the kid, he woke up a couple of days ago. They still haven’t brought the girl?” “No, Dazai was there today, he saw me.” You said. “He what?” Chuya asked. “He didn’t do anything, did he?” “No, we just talked.” You answered, you told him everything that you talked about. “Well I hate that guy but he’s always been good at reading people, maybe we should look into her a little more.” He suggested. “That’s not what he asked us to do, Mori wants her so I’ll get her.” You said and he nodded. “Yeah I know.” Chuya answered as he looked away but then a sudden realisation hit him “wait did you say the man that hired her was Aoi Nakamura?” “That’s what Dazai said.” You nodded. “He died 5 months ago, he couldn’t have hired her now.” Chuya said. “Did you kill him?” You turned to Chuya now with your full attention. “He was found outside one of our hideouts, his ears were bleeding…” His sentence slowed as he spoke the last couple of words as if something occurred to him. “What?” You asked. “Akutagawa was talking about her power. Maybe you should go talk to him.” You explained. “I should tell Dazai.” You mumbled, Chuya stepped forward as if he were about to say something but instead he was interrupted.. “Chuya! Come here.” Koyo called, Chuya looked back at her for a second. “Don’t do anything stupid please, just talk to Akutagawa.” Chuya pleaded as he walked over to meet Koyo, you glanced over at the infirmary before finally deciding to go and talk to Akutagawa, you hadn’t visited him since he's got his injuries.
You walked in and found Akutagawa in bed in the infirmary “Akutagawa I have a few questions if you don’t mind.” You said as you walked in. “What?” He asked. “Hibiki, I want to know about her ability.” You answered. “I expect he sent you to replace me after I was injured.” Akutagawa almost growled out. “He did.” You answered with a small smirk on your face. “She has a voice ability, she screamed and it flung me from the building that was all I got to see.” He explained. “Hmm, are you okay?” You asked, he narrowed his eyes at you but refrained from saying anything you assumed because of your rank against his. “I’m not asking this because I think that you are weak.” Akutagawa didn’t say anything else so she turned to the door “rest well Akutagawa I look forward to having you back on the field.” you heard movement behind you and assumed that he had turned to look at you but you just continued to walk out leaving him in peace.
Hibiki, Junichiro and Yasano were talking in the office about music that they like but they had only been talking for 15 minutes before Kunikida yelled at them all to get back to work “it’s nice to know that chaos still reigns in here.” You said as you leant against the door frame. “I have a message for Hibiki.” “Hibiki!” Dazai called, gesturing for her to come over, and you smiled as she stood between Dazai and Kunikida. “I assume that you all know who I am.” You said. “You're from the mafia?” Kunikida asked. “Mmhm.” You hummed “I’ve been tasked with finding her and bringing her back to Mori but of course, we thrive on the information that he gathered and we’ve gathered a bit on you.” You smirked. “What does that mean?” Kunikida asked. “That’s not my place to say, you should ask her.” You answered. “If you're such a loyal henchman why not just take her now?” Kunikida asked. “I don’t like you Kunikida, was it? But I do respect your ideals, I have a set of my own, I’m giving her the chance to do this the right way, I came here alone, when I could have stormed this office and give you no choice but be sure that the time I do see her I will take her make no mistake.” You promised. “You have a very pretty neck, but you are missing the red, your blood should do nicely.” Yasano said as she swung her blade, you lifted your hand, hardening the skin and stopping the blade in its tracks. “I didn’t want any trouble and I truly hope that we don’t meet again Kunikida, well any of you really.” You said as you turned leaving the room catching sight of Dazai as he smirked at the terrified girl standing next to him, his eyes shifting to you as he watched you leave, you vaguely hear Fukuzawa ordering them to move Hibiki to their safe house while she cried and begged them not to let her die.
The ADA moved Hibiki to the safe house with a number of your subordinates in tow, they were ordered to follow only and retreat if they are found. Once they settled you went in first cutting the CCTV cameras and forcing them to make a move, their move was a big, you noticed him only a second before the large truck left his hands, you hardened you skin and took the full hit, turning to the boy who threw the truck “Woah, you city folk are amazing, your still standing after that?” Kenji asked. “Enough talking Kenji!” Yasano called as she swung her axe at your neck, you caught it kicking her away and disarming her at the same time. You easily pulled the blade from the handle, throwing them both to the floor at your feet, she came at you again, this time you grabbed her around the throat, throwing her at Kenji and knocking them both out. You move forward and as you walked into the next room the weretiger was ready to face you, you looked at him and rolled your eyes he was easily beaten but before you knocked him out you leaned down. “What’s your name?” You asked. “Atsushi.” He answered. “Thank you for looking after Dazai.” You said as you placed something in his hand before walking away, he passed out before he could stop you. The next to face you was Kunikida who stood in front of Hibiki so he was the last. “You are disgraceful and I will not let you take her.” Kunikida said. “You didn’t look into what I said before did you? You didn’t ask her?” You asked. “I don’t believe you.” He glared at her and she nodded. “Why would you?” You sighed as he moved forward, the blows that were exchanged were well placed and when they hit they hit heard, he was as good as Chuya and that shocked you a little but finally finding your opening you knocked him to the floor moving forward and grabbing Hibiki easily throwing her over your shoulder, she put up a fight as you walked away biting, kicking and fighting “you should stop fighting, it’ll be better for you, save that strength you’ll need it to face Mori.”
It was only a couple of hours later that you were back at the base Mori smirked as he looked at the woman shaking in the middle of the office “you got her?” Koyo asked. “That was my mission.” You answered. “Report,” Mori ordered, you told him everything that you had found including all of the information on the cult and as you spoke Mori’s smirk grew and his eyes shifted to Hibiki no doubt with some plan in mind.
Atsushi held the USB up “she gave me this.” He said. “Who?” Kunikida asked. “(Y/N).” Dazai said as he took the USB from him plugging it into the nearest computer, locations and information on the cult that you had claimed Hibiki had something to do with, clear connections and all the information that they needed to be sure that she was here on means other than being their new member. “How can we be sure that any of this is true?” Kunikida asked. “Kunikida, they couldn’t have faked all of this.” Atsushi said. “But I guess you check through it yourself, fact check and then decide for yourself.” Dazai shrugged. “My investigation yielded the same results.” “Your investigation?” Kunikida asked. “I didn’t trust her and you shouldn’t have either.” Dazai said “so now investigate and see what outsiders saw.” Dazai left after that, leaving Kunikida to decide what he would do next.

Tumblr media
Dazai Osamu:
Tumblr media
Dazai never wondered about how tomorrow will play out, he never looked forward to it. He never thought about his future unless it ended with him taking his life away. He never thought he would be committed to live let alone to someone.
But you came in and changed that for him.
First from strangers to friends, from friends to best friends, from best friends to lovers, from lovers to fiancé’s and from fiancés to husband and wife.
He never imagined being in a relationship with anyone yet here he was laying on the couch with you trapped in his arms while talking with a voice he always found music to the ears.
“Hey ‘samu..” your voice suddenly called out to him in a small tone while he tilted his head. Why did you get anxious suddenly? Did something happen? Why are you nervous? He couldn’t place his hand on whatever made you feel this way right now but nevertheless he wanted assure you.
He rubbed your back hoping it can give you a push forward and that you can tell him what’s on your beautiful mind. “...what do you think about having a baby?”
Oh. So that is what it’s about.
“It’s just a hypothetical question by the way!” you stuttered confirming his suspicions before he hugged you tightly and buried his face in the crook of your neck. “I am pregnant ‘samu..” you ended with a smile. “Thank you...thank you, thank you..” he kept repeating the same words like a chorus that he memorized by heart.
Dazai was happy, his heart is full. He didn’t take a life now, he made one. He made one with you, his beautiful wife and his loving belladonna. Eyes getting teary, he smiled against your skin. He pulled back and connected your foreheads.
“God I love you more than anything.”
He said with a tone nothing less than sincere and passionate. Had you expected this reaction? A part of you told you that he won’t like it, but another told you he will be the best father he can be and won’t leave you.
And then the mood turned 180 degrees as Dazai turned to his goofy self and started screaming “WE ARE GONNA HAVE A BABY!” And that’s how he started his mission of telling everyone in the ADA about the wonderful news.
But despite his exterior, you both knew that he was genuinely happy with it and it’s not his clown mask that is supposed to convey his true happiness authentically. That’s why what’s under the mask and behind the walls is only preserved for you.
His belladonna, wife and mother of his children.
Chuuya Nakahara:
Tumblr media
You felt somewhat confident and more assured about telling Chuuya about the two lines that changed your entire lives.
He had been having a baby fever lately, always glancing at the babies’ isle, sometimes trying to subtly make a baby laugh and feeling joyful when it does. It was another reason that made you know he is a wonderful father.
You heard the door of your house freak open with the usual “I am home!” of your dear husband. You smiled at the sound of his voice and felt a kiss on the top of your head. “How are you, dove?” He asked before hanging his coat and taking a seat beside you.
You giggled and assured him that you are okay then held his hand. “Chuu I wanna show you something.” You carefully let out, you had been planning this for a long time after all. He squeezed your hand ushering you to go on.
You got a box and placed it on the table. Chuuya started wondering if you got him a gift. Excitedly he looked at you then back at the box slowly pulling off the top of it. He pouted in confusion when he saw a pink shirt, nevertheless he took it out and saw the writing that said “Mama Chihuahua”
He blankly stared at the shirt and let out a mocking laugh “very funny, dove.” You encouraged him to keep looking and the next thing he got out was a blue shirt with “Papa Chihuahua” he furrowed his eyebrows starting to see a certain pattern.
He subconsciously hoped it was what his heart desired for some time now.
He lastly pulled out a yellow baby onesie with the writing “Baby Chihuahua” he then gripped the shirt tightly and looked at you in complete shock and disbelief. “Y/N you are-“ “ pregnant.” You ended with a soft grin.
Chuuya hugged you tightly and cheered, “HAHA YES FINALLY I HAVE BEEN WANTING THIS!” He started peppering kisses all over your face and chuckling, it truly fulfilled what his heart has been longing for.
Chuuya held your hand and kissed the ring on your finger and vowed once again but for a different person “I swear on my life that I will protect you and our baby from everything and anything.”
His eyes held a certain look of stern and honesty. Chuuya was always a loyal man to anyone who shows that they deserve it and he was one to keep his promises.
And until now he had kept himself true to his vows, and he won’t hesitate or fail to be true to the one he made just now.
Atsushi Nakajima:
Tumblr media
(Atsushi is aged up to 23 cause I am not letting you guys be teenage parents at 18 👩‍🦲)
Atsushi was always good with kids. It honestly reassured you that whenever you guys will have a child then it will be easy and nice for them to interact.
Despite rambling a lot about how kids are adorable and how he wants to squish their cheeks, He has never asked you if you ever wanted a child or suggested having one. Not that you were expecting him to since he does get shy quite often.
Even after 5 years of being together and being married just last year, kisses from your turn his face into a pink hue. Truly a lot of milestones have been placed in your relationship and you two enjoyed every single one of them.
Today however was a new milestone.
As soon as his eyes landed on the pregnancy test you forgot on the sink of your shared bathroom last night, he got overwhelmed. He held the test shaking and slid to the ground.
You are pregnant.
Happy tears flooded his yes as a smile cracked so wide reaching his eyes, Atsushi was strong when needed but right now he wanted to show even to no one just how happy two dashes made him be.
He stood up slowly not to wake you up and kneeled down to your bed. He kissed the top of your head, wiping his tears so they don’t fall on your face and wearily whispered “thank you...”
He held your body tenderly and a smile never leaving his face as he kept talking to your tummy hoping that even now his baby would hear him and know that his dad is already ready to welcome him with open arms.

Toxic- Dazai x GN! Reader
warnings: mentions of suicide, aftermath of attempted suicide, depictions of violence and torture, kidnapping, brief mentions of self harm, Dazai being toxic and borderline emotionally abusive but he has a reason, he’s a little emotionally stunted, general angst, a good ending but you have to work for it
word count: 4213
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dazai hated this time of year.
Summer was a season he oh so despised, sick of the uncomfortably hot weather that prompted people to ask why he was wearing so many layers in July.
He was sick of the pitied glances and confused faces as he strolled around Yokohama, adorning his usual trench coat and bandages.
But the one thing that made this season more bearable, was watching your face as you enjoyed all the summer activities. He couldn’t quite pin point when he started falling for you, but he did know it was around the same time he started pretending not to hate summer.
Dazai was a man of mystery, and preferred to stay that way (though deep down he wanted someone he could bare his soul with, but alas they always scurried away when he revealed the shattered pieces of his heart) yet you persisted in trying to crack him open, trying to see the real person behind the acting.
Yes, much to Dazai’s surprise, you figured out his profound talent for acting just weeks into your job at the ADA, and since attempted to see his real personality. Unfortunately, Dazai was always acting, even when he was not. Most of his life he has devoted to perfecting that act, his role, and not one single person has seen through all of the acting, all of the masks he wears. Everyday he wakes up, he climbs his tired and battered body upon that stage, and begins his act again. He has done this as long as he’s known, and he has no reason or desire to stop.
That is, until he met you.
Despite you only being able to see through his outermost mask, you’ve always understood him better than most people. Maybe that’s what drew him to you in the first place, the way you seemed at ease in his presence, seemingly ignoring his past and even present actions. He was enamored by your personality, and soon he too felt happier when you were around. He took this into account when you approached him after work, nervously ringing your hands together, refusing to meet his eyes.
Taking a deep breath, you slightly stuttered the words he didn’t realize he wanted to hear so badly.
“Will y-you go out with me? I know you don’t really do dates, with the whole double suicide thing, and if you don’t feel the same about me that’s fine, I just really like being around you and your hot so I was just wondering—“
He silenced you by planting a soft kiss against your lips, hoping it conveyed what he hoped.
“Does that answer your question?”
The months after that were happy, a white spot on his relatively bleak life. You brightened his day when you entered the room, and he loved the way your eyes crinkled when you laughed.
Yet, he still could not find a reason to stop the attempts to end his own life.
He loved you, god he was sure of it by this point, but when he stripped of his bandages and held a razor to his wrist, your face did not flash in his mind.
When he leaned over the edge of a bridge, your smile did not make him hesitate, though he wished it did.
He was angry, angry at himself for not loving you enough, and angry at you, in some twisted way, for not being enough.
Dazai was confused, confused about why he was angry at you, and confused about why you weren’t enough of a reason to stop himself every time he tried to commit suicide.
For once, Dazai Osamu had a problem.
and he had absolutely no idea how to fix it.
...............................................................................................
This was really annoying situation.
This was your third hostage situation in a month, and honestly you were getting sick of it. You really didn’t know how you kept getting in these situations, although it wasn’t all that surprising considering your line of work.
Your coworkers -yourself included- often found themselves in situations not unlike this one, though theirs, especially poor Atsushi’s, were usually more severe.
Another day, another migraine.
This time, you were slightly afraid, just because the men here this time were more serious. The way they conducted this situation was less like a robbery plus hostages, and more like a search.
Like they were looking for someone.
This part concerned you, because who exactly could they be looking for? This was just a simple grocery store, and you doubted they received enough money to warrant the type of people these men were. Petty thieves? sure. Gang members that possessed impressive weapons? It was unusual to say the least.
Currently, they had you all lined up against the wall of the vegetable section, hands zip tied behind your back. Your unusual ability -dream manipulation- would not help you here. In fact, it usually help you at all, but you weren’t concerned about that right now.
You were concerned about why these men were asking every persons name, and what they would do once they got to you.
One of the men, tall and imposing, sporting all black and a ski mask, plus military grade boots stopped in front of you.
“Name,”
You swallowed thickly. “Why do you need that?”
No sooner had the words life your mouth did you feel the boot connect with your abdomen- and not in a nice way. You coughed harshly, a little blood dribbling out of the corner of your mouth.
“Name,”
You spit the blood onto his boot, Dazai’s defiant personality must have rubbed off on you a bit.
“I’m not giving it until you tell me why,”
You weren’t stupid- you worked at the Armed Detective Agency, and people like this don’t ask for names unless their lookin for someone, usually someone who’s ‘wronged’ them. Being in the ADA had given you a lot of friends, but also a lot of enemy’s. Being the s/o of a former mafia executive didn’t really help either.
This time, the boot met your face, throwing you directly backwards into the carrots. The feeling of cold metal on your forehead and a clicking sound net your ears, and you looked up.
“I’m going to ask one more time before I’ll have to get a little messy. What. Is. Your. Name,”
“Elvis Presley,”
You regretted your choice instantly, as the gun went off directly into your thigh. You screamed, bullet wounds were always more painful then other wounds you got on the job.
where was the police? where was Dazai?
pain made it difficult to think straight, but you surmised that giving your name would be your best bet in this situation. You were most likely whoever they were looking for, and you didn’t want to endanger the innocent hostages.
“Y/N L/N. That’s my name,”
The man roughly grabbed your arm and hauled you to your feet, dragging you away from the other hostages.
“Yeah, we got the right person. Come on, let’s get out of here before the good ol boyfriend comes along,”
A bag was placed over your head, and you were thrown into the back of what you assumed was a van. Your injury’s weren’t that severe, yet the pain was unrelenting. It seemed to increase the longer you had them, though you didn’t know why.
“I bet your wondering why your in more pain then you were a bit ago,”
a man who’s voice you didn’t recognize spoke once the van came to halt, and it set you on edge.
“That would be the handy work of my ability, which i must say, comes in handy in my line of work. I can make one injury, one tiny little paper cut hurt like a thousand knives are stabbing you,”
As he explained his ability, the pain increasingly got worse, until you were writhing on the van floor, tears streaking down your face. Eventually, it stopped, and you sagged in momentary relief, only to be dragged out of the van.
You were about to slip into a pain filled unconsciousness when the sting of a taser brought you back. You jerked and screamed, just wishing it to all be over.
“Ah ah ah,” the man with the pain ability spoke again. “We’re gonna need you conscious for all of this. It’ll be more fun for me, and more painful for you!”
“Why,” you said, voice already hoarse from the events of today. “What did I do,”
“It’s not really what you did, but more like what Dazai did,”
..........................................................................
Dazai stood outside a warehouse, guilt and fear consuming him. His breaths were short and fast, and he could feel himself spiraling.
This wasn’t supposed to happen, you didn’t do anything, it’s my fault, god i am so STUPID—
“Dazai,”
Kunikida’s voice brought him away from his darkening thoughts, and Dazai tried to calm himself. Having a panic attack would not help the situation.
“Y/N is not helpless. I’m sure whatever this people have done, they’ll be fine,”
While Dazai wanted to believe his partner, he knew this specific group was known for their intense torture methods, because of their leaders ability. Dazai knew that the Port Mafia took down the majority of their organization, and he’d been tasked with breaking their leader, Takahashi Watanabe, and he did it through torturing and then murdering his fiancé. Dazai grimaced internally, the things he did in the Port Mafia usually did come back to bite him. He just wished they would leave you out of it.
This wasn’t the first time you had been dragged into grudges between Dazai and his old victims, and the guilt he felt about it had been building for some time now.
After deciding on a plan, Kunikida would take out the guards while trying to make as little noise as possible, and Dazai would enter, take down whoever was inside, and get you out. Kunikida would join him once he was done with the guards.
Kunikida’s ability came in handy at times like these, and although he did not show it, Dazai appreciated the strict man.
While Kunikida made quick work of the guards, Dazai slipped into a no longer protected entrance, and quietly surveyed the area.
Dazai had seen many things, he’d done many things, but absolutely nothing could have prepared him for your beaten and bleeding body, chained up against a wall, the ring leader standing in front of you.
Every time Takahashi flicked his wrist, you would start writhing in pain screaming out to whoever would hear you.
Dazai couldn’t stomach any more of his lover being tortured right in front of him, so he rushed out from his hiding place and punched him in the back of his head, feeling his own fingers fracture and pop at the force.
“That’s enough of that now,”
Takahashi was stupid, and left all of his men to guard the entrances, leaving no one actually inside the building but himself and you. Dazai undid the chains, and you wrapped your arms around his neck, sobbing loudly into his chest.
“I thought I was going to die, it was so painful—“
“I know,” Dazai ran his non injured hand through your hair, rubbing circles in your back with the other. “I’m sorry I wasn’t here fast enough,”
“It’s okay,”
Although you told him it was okay, Dazai could not ignore the pit of guilt gnawing away at his insides. Every time this happened the guilt got stronger, taking over his mind, the thoughts of you being better off without him filled his mouth and head, choking him with all the softness of ash. He’d debated breaking up with you for months, not because he no longer loved you, but because the less you were attached to him, the less likely you were to be dragged into these situations.
Takahashi was the final straw, so while Kunikida drove the car that held you and Dazai back to the agency, Dazai silently made up his mind that it would be easier for you to break up with him if you hated him. Though it pained him to think of no more soft mornings with you by his side, or quiet nights where he wakes up heaving and your there to comfort him, he knows that you’ll be better, happier without him.
..........................................................................
Yosano healed you quickly, as Dazai waited nervously outside the door, swollen and purple fingers throbbing. You came out looking good as new, though Dazai doubted you had mentally and emotionally recovered at all.
He walked you back to the apartment, assuring you that Kunikida would let the both of you off easy this once, considering the day you’ve had.
And for once, Dazai was quiet.
The walk was quiet, and not in a good way. You were inside your own head, reeling from the events of today, and Dazai was mentally preparing himself for the conversation he was about to have with you upon arriving at your apartment.
“Ugh,” You collapsed on the couch, not even changing out of your bloody and filthy clothes before wrapping yourself in a blanket.
Dazai felt his heart twist as you looked up at him with your big e/c eyes, and knew what he was going to do would hurt you. And for that, he internally apologized.
“Dazai? Is something wrong? you’ve been quiet ever since we left the agency. You didn’t even joke when Atsushi fell asleep in a cupboard again,”
“I’m breaking up with you,”
You scoffed. “Yeah right. Come on, what’s really bothering you?”
“No I’m serious,” He willed his eyes to remain cold, and hoped his face showed no sign of emotion. “I don’t love you, and to be honest I’m not sure I ever did. It was a nice thought, our relationship, but really, I just wanted to see how long I could take this with you,”
Your eyes were filled with confusion and hurt, and he saw tears prick the corners of your eyes.
“W-What?”
“Ah, did poor little Y/N think I really loved them? Or were you just projecting your emotions onto me, like you always do,”
The hurt in your eyes turned to anger. “You know what? Go to hell. If you think you can just play with my emotions and lead me on for five months, then I never want to see you again,”
“That’s the spirit!” Dazai snapped his fingers.
Stop.
“Were you lying then? This whole time, was it all a lie?”
The bandage covered brunette rolled his eyes. “Duh,”
Your hurting them. Stop it.
You wiped the tears from your eyes, then stood up and met him with a cold stare.
“I hope your next suicide is a success you monster,”
You walked out of the apartment with your head held high, though he knew you, so he knew you would probably head to Yosano’s place, and breakdown there. Maybe even Atsushi’s, if you really felt sad.
When he watched you slam the door, it all hit him, that you were gone, and he’d done it on purpose.
He’d ruined the only good thing he had in life, so now, once more, Dazai Osamu was alone.
..........................................................................
If Dazai hadn’t hated himself before, he definitely did now.
When he walked into work the next day, Atsushi slapped him. Hard.
Atsushi, of all people, had slapped Dazai.
The entire agency stopped, save for Ranpo, as Dazai lifted a hand to the growing red mark on his cheek.
“How dare you,” Atsushi started, eyes wild, tiger fur starting to grow from his arms. “Be an absolute dick to Y/N. You lead them on for five months Dazai, and then had the audacity to break it off after they got tortured? Because of how disgusting of a person you were? No, let me correct myself, how much of a disgusting person you are. If it were up to me, I’d fire you from the agency, and ship you back to the Port Mafia, since your so keen on being a monster!”
Dazai could feel his façade crumbling, and he felt the shocked and outright disgusted looks of his coworkers.
“If I were you,” Yosano spoke very quietly. “I would leave while you still have your life. You being immune to my ability will not stop me from slicing your entire body into pieces if you don’t leave and go back to whatever sewer you crawled out of,”
Dazai took his cue and left, letting his façade break when he hears you sniffle next to Kenji. Eyes downcast, Dazai whispers something so quiet not even Atsushi’s enhanced hearing could detect it.
“I’m sorry,”
..........................................................................
Dazai didn’t get out of bed for three days.
He couldn’t even sleep, dreams of you being tortured was all he saw whenever he closed his eyes. The memory of your face as he ripped apart your heart forever ingrained in his mind, a testimony to his treachery.
He wept bitterly, aware that all of your suffering he was the cause of. He was no doubt fired from his job, Fukuzawa was a kind and patient man, but he would not allow this kind of plain heartlessness. He’d known what kind of man Dazai was when he applied for a job at the ADA, but Dazai knew no amount of kindness could forgive what he’d done to you.
He dragged himself into the living room, turning on the tv, hoping to distract himself from his thoughts.
He flicked through the channels, then almost dropped the remote when he saw the report.
“The Armed Detective Agency building is currently on fire, Detectives Kunikida, Ranpo, and their coworkers have all exited the building safely, but Detective L/N is still inside. Due to their injury’s, the remaining detectives have not been permitted to re-enter the building to save Detective L/N, leaving all of us to pray they make it out alive. Their healer, Yosano, is out on a business trip, so all we can do is put our faith in modern medicine,”
Dazai ran out the door before the news reporter had even finished speaking, throwing on shoes and sprinting the the office. Luckily, he lived close enough to get there in ten minutes, and he spared no time ducking under the police tape.
“Dazai! Stop!” Kunikida yelled at him from beside a fire truck, and several firemen and policemen tried to stop him. He flashed his ADA badge -thank god he brought it with him- and dashed inside the burning building.
He choked on the heavy smoke, coughing heavily.
“Y/N! Where are you!”
He climbed the stairs, ignoring the burns of the flames that licked his arms and legs.
He burst into the office, fire consuming the room. He jumped over some fire that had spread across the floor, looking under each desk. Finally, under Ranpo’s desk, you were curled up clutching a stack of files.
“D-Dazai?” Soot covered your face, and he could hear your lungs heaving.
“I know I’m the last person you want to see right now, but your going to die if you stay in here,”
Carrying you bridal style, he ran out of the room, but stopped because the stairs down to the last level had completely caved in. It wasn’t too far to jump, by the only thing that greeted the both of you were bright orange flames.
He looked out the window beside you two, wasting no time to punch the glass, not caring about the shards stuck in his knuckles, before looking down at your form. You couldn’t longer see the rise and fall of your chest, and almost screamed.
“This might hurt,”
He leapt out the window, clutching you close to him, tucking and rolling so he took the brunt of the damage. With a sickening crunch, his shoulder popped out of its socket, but he didn’t care, he laid your lifeless form on the pavement, and began CPR.
“Someone get me an ambulance!” He yelled, never stopping chest compressions. His arms ached, his dislocated shoulder screaming at him to stop.
“Come on Y/N, wake up!” He screamed, tears making streak marks on his grime covered his face. He was vaguely aware of a medic running over to him, he could barley see past the blur of his own tears.
The medic gently took you away from him, and he held his face in his hands, sobbing. Atsushi crouched down besides him, but Dazai didn’t care. He didn’t care that anyone watching could see him cracking and breaking, he just wanted to know if you were okay.
“Why are you upset? I thought you didn’t love her?”
Dazai stood up. “I lied. I was stupid, and I lied, because don’t you see,” he turned to Atsushi, aware of the manic look he must have in his eyes. “She’s better off without me. She keeps getting injured because of my disgusting past. You said it yourself, I’m a monster,”
“Dazai—“ Atsushi started.
“Y/N is gone, and all of this is my fault,”
No one knew what to do, they’d never seen Dazai show this much emotion, they’d never seen his faces break, never seen him this broken.
Kenji was the only to move, the only to step towards the form of the crumbling man before them.
“Do you love them?”
“Yes. I really do. Now I’m scared I’ll never get to tell them again,”
Kenji motioned to Kunikida, and Dazai’s partner stepped toward him.
“Your truly an idiot Dazai. Don’t you think Y/N knew what they were getting into when they started dating you?”
“Well I don’t know, but I didn’t want them to get hurt anymore so I—“
“And therein lies your issue. You made a decision for them, without even asking their thoughts. Now you’ve caused pain for the both of you, and you may never get to apologize. Although I’m positive Y/N will make it out of this, i think you should go to the hospital to be there when they wake up,”
Dazai simply nodded once, taking in Kunikida’s words, then walked in the direction of the hospital. Kunikida was right. He is stupid. But hopefully, not too stupid for you.
He must’ve looked so dumb, walking into your hospital room, nervously ringing his hands together, not unlike you did when you asked him out.
“Dazai? What are you doing here?”
“Um, I kind of wanted to apologize. For being a monster,” his voice hitched on the last word, and he hoped you didn’t notice.
“Well? I’m waiting. Just because you saved my life doesn’t mean i don’t resent you for what you said,”
“I know I just...” Dazai took a deep breath before continuing.
“I’ve hated myself for a long time, that’s no mystery. But when we were together, it made all the pain go away. Even if it was just for a moment, it felt good. But, I lied to you. I’m stupid and I lied to you. I thought if you hated me, it’d be easier for you to get over me. I was wrong, but please understand,” he took your hand in his. “I didn’t break up with you because I didn’t love you. It’s the opposite. I love you, a lot, but you keep getting dragged into messes and horrible situations because of how much of a horrible person I was. How much of a horrible person I am,” Dazai hated the way his voice had started to wobble, but he kept going. “Y/N, I’m so sorry I told you all those things. I’m so sorry I broke up with you, and I’m sorry for how much my past has put you through. If you still never want to see me again, I understand, and I’ll leave now,” At this point, tears were quietly slipping down his cheeks, splattering on your hand that was held by Dazai’s. “Sorry,”
You locked Dazai with a hard gaze. “I haven’t fully forgiven you just yet. Breaking up with me over something that could have been discussed was stupid of you,”
Dazai nodded, turning to leave the room.
“But,”
But?
You continued softly. “Someone who doesn’t love me wouldn’t jump out of a burning building and perform CPR that saved my life. I don’t think your a monster, and I don’t think your a horribly person. A little dumb yeah, and definitely not perfect, but you know,”
He turned back to face you, hope rising in his chest.
“I think that’s why I fell in love with you. Because of the person you are underneath, the person you are underneath all that acting,”
Despite you still being injured, you wobbled over to his shaking form.
“So, Dazai Osamu, I’m willing to give you a second chance. Provided you vow to try to stop committing suicide, because it hurt when you did it. It hurt to know that I wasn’t enough to keep you here. And next time, let’s talk about stuff okay?”
He nodded mutely, and you opened your arms.
“Come here,”
He wasted no time hugging you tight, shamelessly crying. Tears of sadness, tears of joy whatever they were, Dazai didn’t care.
Because Dazai had finally found his reason for living.
Hi this is self indulgent nd i wrote it on my phone. Its a vent sorta, i kinda want one of my comfort characters to hug me rn :))))) messed up family life amiright guys

💖𝐃𝐚𝐝 𝐃𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐢 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐬💖
꧂Dazai honestly was scared to death when you told him you were pregnant
꧂He never thought of having kids before, especially with the kind of person he was and what his past was like
꧂he felt like he could never be the kind of father you wished him to be for your child, and a lover to you
꧂you reassured him that he would do fine, no one was a perfect parent. You two were in this together and that’s how it was going to be for a long time
꧂holds your hair back when you throw up due to morning sickness as much as it grossed him out
꧂during the middle stages of your pregnancy the idea did start to warm up to Dazai
꧂he gave into every want and need that came out of your mouth.
꧂want ice cream and ramen at 2 in the morning? He’s already out the door before you can finish your sentence. Crying because you saw something that was really freaking adorable? He’s crying with you
꧂he liked to lay his head on your belly and feel the baby kick. The first time it happened you swore he couldn’t stop smiling for like a week
꧂ Sometimes he’ll even talk to it and whisper words of promises and hope.
꧂”I’m gonna take care of you and momma if it kills me. I promise to protect you from any harm and danger no matter what..” Dazai would mutter to your belly as you slept
꧂everyone at the ADA threw you the most wonderful suprise baby shower you could have ever asked for! You also totally cried when they jumped out and nearly scared you to death
꧂they were more than helpful to you and Dazai. If Dazai was busy and you needed something atsushi would go out and do it for you!
꧂Dazai is there by your side throughout the whole pregnancy and labor process
꧂it felt like having a knife to the heart seeing you in so much pain. Nothing felt worse than seeing you cry out in pain and there was absolutely nothing he could do about it
꧂it was totally worth it though when your son was born 💕
꧂oh just kidding.. twins!!! One girl one boy!
꧂Dazai bawled his eyes out the moment he heard their tiny cries fill the air and they placed them on your chest
꧂after the cleaning and health check they were finally brought back to both you and Dazai. You swear you’d never seen a baby with such a full head of curly brown hair!!
꧂they were the most beautiful babies Dazai and you had ever seen. His heart leapt out of his chest when his little girl held onto his finger the first time, and you watched again as he burst into tears
꧂somehow by the grace of gods Dazai managed to always keep them quiet when they cried and you had no idea how he did it. It was magic
꧂if one baby wasn’t in his arms then the other one was. Anytime you saw him he was either rocking one or feeding the other
꧂they preferred sleeping on either you or dazais chest rather than their own crib and you often found Dazai sleeping in your rocking chair with both of them laying on top him.
꧂Dazai likes to join in their little baby conversations. Like literally they just babble at each other and Dazai would be like “yeah?” “No he didn’t-“ “oh I understand perfectly” “don’t talk to your sister like that” and it would be the cutest thing you’d ever seen
꧂the ADA was absolutely IN LOVE with the twins. ꧂ They constantly begged you and Dazai to bring them over more. Even kunikida who was an ass to Dazai, he liked you. They loved holding the babies. Not that you minded, they took real good care of them when you two needed a break!
꧂grandpa Fukuzawa, auntie Yosano and Kyouka, uncle Atsushi and Kunikida ✊🏻
꧂Dazai promised to be the best father he could, and he did just that.
꧂after finally getting them to go sleep, you and Dazai spent time cuddling in bed tired and worn out. “Your an amazing father osamu, I cant believe you ever doubted yourself. I love you so much” you whispered to him as you caressed his cheek. He would smile and press a soft kiss to your forehead, “there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you my love..”

friends (or maybe a little bit more)
MANGA SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 88
Summary: While helping out the Port Mafia with their vampire problem, Atsushi runs into someone he thought was dead. (aka atsushi meets vampire!aku)
It was dark out, almost sundown. Atsushi walked over the storage facility the Port Mafia was using. He didn’t particularly want to be here, not when the Port Mafia was overrun with vampires.
“Heh, vampires. Who would have thought?” Atsushi mumbled to himself.
He was sent here by Fukuzawa, who was contacted for help by Mori. The Port Mafia must have really been in a tight spot if they were calling on the ADA for help. Chuuya had gone off to find Dazai, who’s No Longer Human ability may be the only way to fix this problem. Mori had gone underground, just in case any rival organizations had decided to use this as an opportunity to strike. And Akutagwa…
Hurry up and go!
Other than that, every Port Mafia member has probably turned to a vampire.
“But how? Who started it? The reports of vampire attacks happened a few weeks after I fought Fukuchi but how did he start it? It can’t be his ability.” Atsushi thought out loud.
A sudden crash snapped him out of his own head. Quickly, he ducked behind the corner of one of the storage bins to observe what would happen next.
Atsushi heard a scream echo out, followed by the sounds of a gun firing. Then it stopped. He heard the sounds of someone walking out of the storage container. Atsushi got ready to fight, before seeing someone walk out. It was-
“No. Akutagawa?” Atsushi asked.
Akutagawa walked out. He stopped and looked at the ground. His signature black coat was missing, it was currently at Atsushi’s house, lying on his bed. His neck was healed as well.
Atsushi let out a sigh of relief.
“Akutagawa, oh my god. I thought I’d never see you again. How did you get away? I thought for sure Fukuchi had gotten you.” Atsushi walked up to him and thought about hugging him.
Out of nowhere, Akutagwa turned aggressively and launched himself on Atsushi. Thinking quickly, Atsushi punched him, sending Akutagawa flying into a storage container.
‘Normally Akutagawa would have used his ability to cushion the blow. But he’s not. And why is he attacking me? I know we don’t get along but this? This doesn’t feel like him.’ Atsushi thought to himself.
He barely had a moment to reflect on it as Akutagawa ran back, pushing Atsushi to the ground.
Immediately, Atsushi noticed something was wrong. His eyes were completely black, shining emotionlessly down at Atsushi.
“Akutagawa? What happened to you?”
As if in response, Akutagawa snarled and Atsushi caught sight of fangs in his mouth.
“No… You’re a vampire.”
Akutagawa attacked but Atsushi, summoning his tiger strength, pushed him off. Atsushi jumped up but didn’t prepare to attack.
“It’s me, Atsushi. Don’t make me attack you. Please.”
Akutagawa offered no response, lunging at him again. Atsushi dodged but still made no attack.
“I refuse to hurt you. You’ve got to be in there somewhere! Akutagawa!” Atsushi yelled.
In his moment of weakness, Akutagawa was able to charge him and catch Atsushi off guard. Atsushi fell to the ground, Akutagawa quickly jumping on top of him. Atsushi put his hands up to defend himself as Akutagawa snarled his fangs.
“AKUTAGAWA!” Atsushi cried out one last time.
This time, Akutagawa paused. He closed his mouth and looked down at Atsushi. His jet black eyes showed no emotion, yet he seemed to be listening.
“It’s me, Akutagawa! Atsushi! I’m Atsushi, we worked together. You called me Jinko and tried to kill me.”
Akutagawa continued to stare at him.
“You wear a long black coat and you speak very directly. You work for the Port Mafia. You have a sister, Gin.”
The black from his eyes seemed to fade. Atsushi let out a sigh of relief. But then, Akutagawa snapped back and he lunged at Atsushi’s neck, fangs bared.
“Six months!” Atsushi yelled in a panic.
Akutagawa stopped, hovering slightly over Atsushi’s neck.
“I made you promise not to kill anyone for six months,” Atsushi explained. A single tear started to fall down his face. He couldn’t tell if it was the stress of almost being turned into a vampire or being forced to confront someone who he thought died. Someone he cared about.
“A mafia member who doesn’t kill. Don’t you remember? We took down The Guild’s leader together. We worked together during the operation against the Rats in the House of the Dead.”
Out of the corner of his eye, Atsushi saw Akutagawa’s eyes move back to normal.
“Do you remember now?” Atsushi asked, still cautious.
“Jinko…” Akutagawa whispered softly before collapsing on top of Atsushi.
Without thinking, Atsushi hugged him, glad to have his friend back.
Sure, Atsushi would never call him a friend to his face but deep down, Atsushi cared for Akutagawa. And he had a gut feeling that Akutagwa cared, too.

Sometimes you gotta tear a character in half to make them work properly, you know? And buddy I think you made a typo because I don’t,, I don’t think you meant Kunikida passing away. I’m only mentioning because I got one hell of a case of whiplash and I. Was not expecting that. But! Yeah, Dazai is Dazai and he’ll do nice things in a very Dazai way, that’s just how it be. As for Atsushi and Byakko- I could definitely see it going down like that! (Nyanon, 1/5)
Though I wonder if any other characters would be like that, too... Chuuya, since he has Arahabaki, and maybe Shibusawa as well- Not sure what they’d be, though. (Also akjxrcnjijmISJNXNEI IM,,, I DONT DEAL WITH COMPLIMENTS WELL IM NOT CUTE AAAHHH-) Anyways, the idea of Fukuzawa running an organization like that... As long as it’s underground, I could see it! Since anyone with an ability is just hunted down and killed here, being too public would be dangerous, I think? (Nyanon, 2/5)
I do like the idea of Dazai being the “medic” in a sense though. And the Port Mafia... Hm. Maybe they’re a sort of more extremist, anti non abilitied people organization? And while Fukuzawa and Mori don’t like the methods the other uses, they begrudgingly get along sometimes. I don’t know, I just want the PM and the ADA to be friends. Kinda. But! Moving on to a fluffy Dazatsu Concept (because I love them): Please consider Dazai trying to flirt with Atsushi. (Nyanon, 3/5)
And this is before they get together! So Atsushi never thinks he means it. Sometimes it’s because of his low self esteem (IE- “There’s no way Dazai-san would like me, and doesn’t he flirt with lots of people anyways?”), sometimes it’s because something happens to make Dazai seem insincere or like he’s joking (IE- Someone he slept with once pops out of no one and tries to be all lovey dovey with him in front of Atsushi because they still think he’s attractive or something). (Nyanon, 4/5)
Either way Dazai can. NOT. Catch a break. The poor man just wants to date his coworker, someone help him. (Nyanon, 5/5)
*goes to reread my ask* *sees typo* aha aha noo nyanon omg ur blind im so worried go 2 the Doctor i think ur seeing things Wrong l Ol aHAAHAA-
arahabaki,,,maybe hes a cursed god that was banished as well?? an evil cursed god?? cause chuuya gets pretty fucked UP when he gets corrupted by arahabaki so,,,could be that arahabaki got into chuuyas body willingly just to gain control over him but,,,turns out thats pretty hard to do for him (meanwhile shibusawa looks like the bitch who would make a deal with the devil no offence AGSHJKDS) ACCEPT ME CALLING YOU CUTE
mori and fukuzawa bedrugingly get along cus theres no real “research” on how to tame abilities or what it truly entails since people just view it as striking a deal with the devil and wont believe when ability users say that Hey We Did Nothing Of The Sort (so thats why fukuzawa cant criticise mori’s techniques to taming someones abilities since it kinda works, except it adds on a BIT of trauma, and mood i also want ada and pm to be friends.)
GOD YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH I LOVE THE OBLIVIOUS ATSUSHI TROPE ITS SO FUCKING CUTE, dazai will even do a marriage proposal in a form of a pick up line before actually just spelling it straight out for atsushi that he Likes Him. the moment dazai thinks theyre getting somewhere someone of his past flings comes up to him and it all goes down the drain- plus i can certainly see that dazai has a natural flirty personality and atsushi is a bit Too perceptive for his own good when it comes to others

ship: minor shin soukoku / akuatsu
genre: hurt/comfort, redemption
prompt: akutagawa finally gets his redemption and joins the ada
notes: this is my little series right now, i just call it ada akutagawa and i mostly just wrote this because it’s what he deserves
also, aro/ace spectrum akutagawa
A hit from the left. A hit right from the right. "Rashomon, demonic armor!" The colors of Akutagawa's vision begin to blend together, muddling up, and he knows well his disgustingly weak lungs are giving in. It hurts. He's so weak, even to Atsushi's pathetic blows. He knows Atsushi is holding back, too, especially after all the god forsaken blabbering Akutagawa did. He's just so... tired. Akutagawa doesn't even register falling to his knees, Rashomon slinking away from it's armor form and instead choosing to curl around it's owner in a protective manner, as well as it could without hurting him further. Atsushi stands in front of him, barely a cut or scratch on him, but he looks tired, as well. His regenerative ability has gotten better. Akutagawa begins to cough into his hand, crimson red now staining the pretty white silk on his shirt. "Akutagawa," Atsushi starts, breath heavy as he speaks, "No... Ryunosuke. You don't even talk of the mafia fondly anymore. I'm not quite sure you ever have... You only talk about how much they hurt you, how much they hurt Dazai, and Kyouka, and all other sorts of people. Ryunosuke... Are you satisfied?" The phrase hits hard, like a punch to the chest, and it only makes Akutagawa wheeze more. He isn't. He's thought about leaving the mafia time after time, there's always something holding him back. It's always one fucking thing. He's planned it out and everything, Higuchi even said she'd help him leave, she'd leave with him, too. They even have everything packed back at the apartment. All the essentials. And yet... There's still one thing holding him back. "I... I hate it here. I hate it here so fucking much..." Ryunosuke starts, looking back up at Atsushi, "But... Gin..." "Don't think about Gin for once," He says, he's gotten down on his knees in front of Akutagawa, bringing them to the same level, "You've cared for her your entire life, you've been a stand in parent since the age of like... Four or five, it's really amazing, Ryunosuke," Atsushi says with a smile. "But-" "But, you never should have had to be that. And you don't need to be that anymore. You're like, twenty now, right?" Akutagawa nods. "She's sixteen. She can take care of herself and make her own decisions. The mafia has never once posed as a threat against her, and Gin is a strong woman. You raised her that way," Atsushi insists, "She can hold up against the mafia easily." Ryunosuke feels himself tear up, and he begins to rub at his eyes with his blood stained sleeve. He feels Rashomon curl around his tighter, like a hug, almost. "Wh, why are you telling me this?" Akutagawa replied, his voice is trembling. It's disgusting. "Ryunosuke..." Atsushi responds, he reaches out a hand and cups the left side of Ryunosuke's face, despite all the blood and tears, "Ryunosuke, leave the mafia. Please." "I... I don't have anywhere to go..." He answers. It's a lie. He has many places to go, but it'll be hard trying to reform his identity completely. It's be hard to completely erase Ryunosuke Akutagawa from his world, especially after everything that he's done. It would be easy if Akutagawa just killed himself. Atsushi's hand pulls away from his face, and instead reaches out to help Akutagawa up with a knowing smile. "Then come join the Armed Detective Agency, Ryunosuke." -- It's easier than Akutagawa ever anticipated. Though, it's mostly because of all the leg work Higuchi and Gin put into this. Gin was much more happy than Akutagawa thought, as well. She was happy Akutagawa was finding a path that wasn't about protecting her. Just a path to make him happy. ... But she decided to stay behind, like she did every time Ryunosuke offered to get her out of the mafia, too. The mafia is home to Gin. They didn't beat her and berate her most of her career, like they did to Ryunosuke. It's obvious why she'd feel that way. It only took a few days for Atsushi to secure a place in the agency for Akutagawa. From what he heard, Atsushi, Kyouka, and Dazai all vouched for him. "Fukuzawa is a kind man. He would never refuse you, or anybody in need," Atsushi had said. He was right. Within at least two weeks of Atsushi finally convincing Akutagawa to leave the mafia, Akutagawa had moved into the agency living quarters. He ended up moving in with Atsushi, with Kyouka having finally gotten a place of her own. It wasn't tough for Akutagawa to move in, he really didn't own all that much. Living in the mafia is tough, because everyday could be your death day. There was no point in owning a lot. ... What was hard was living without Gin for the first time in sixteen years. He called her every night, thought about her every second of the day. Sometimes, it was all her could think about. At least in the mafia, Akutagawa would know where she was. But now, he has no such privilege. Soon enough, the test for joining the agency came up. Of course, Akutagawa had no idea it was a test, like usual for agency members. The test must have took longer to develop, due to Akutagawa having already known just about everyone at the agency and mafia, he was hard to fool. They ended up pulling from the guild. A girl named Lucy, a former guild member, posed as a threat by holding Atsushi hostage, saying she wants to take revenge for what the agency did to the guild by blowing up the entire building, coffee shop and all. She gave Akutagawa the choice of saving Atsushi or join forces with her to blow up the whole building. Akutagawa managed to get Atsushi out of the hostage situation, putting his own life at risk instead while Kyouka "disarmed" the bomb. In the end, Akutagawa passed the test and joined the agency officially. -- "You should get rid of that coat, you know," Dazai said. Most of the agency members where in the coffee shop on break. Akutagawa had ordered a tea while Dazai sipped at an energy drink. "I don't think you're in the position to really say that," Akutagawa protested calmly, "It means a lot to me." "It was mine," Dazai replied, "Do you really want to keep those memories?" Akutagawa paused, setting down his cup of tea. Dazai was right in a way, the coat carried so many memories of the abuse he endured, and even before that, it carries the memories of the abuse Dazai endured. ... It was gifted to Akutagawa because Dazai often ended up lending it to him after Dazai hurt him. Akutagawa got injured and suffered so much at Dazai's hand that the coat was already practically his before Dazai officially gave it to him. There are so many blood stains on this coat, so much blood on innocent people on it. It has at least three generations of child abuse in the mafia on it. Akutagawa felt his hands begin to shake as he quickly picked up the cup of tea again, trying to mask his anxiety. "I don't want to think about that, Dazai-san. Don't remind me." Dazai dropped the subject. -- "Ryuu-san," Atsushi starts, "Are you okay?" He's sitting beside Akutagawa on their shared couch, sharing a pot of tea after a long day of work. Akutagawa had come to appreciate Atsushi's company, Atsushi had a way of making him feel comfortable and safe. ... He liked cuddling Atsushi, too, but that aside. "I think I made Dazai-san uncomfortable today. We were talking about the coat I wear, it used to be his..." Akutagawa replied, "I think I only remind him of his past, of his time at the Port Mafia... I don't think he wants me here at all, I've only complicated his life..." Atsushi sets down his cup as he pulled Akutagawa in for a hug. Atsushi smells of vanilla and early gray tea, hints of lavender from the laundry detergent he uses. His hair is soft, and the pressure of his hugs always manage to calm Akutagawa down. ... He's just so nice, it's not fair. "Ryuu, he wanted you to be here, remember? He vouched for you to be at the agency," Atsushi reminded him softly, and Akutagawa can feel Atsushi start to run his fingers through his hair, "I think he just wants you to be happy and safe, Ryuu. He's just not too great at conveying it. Don't think too much of it, okay?" Akutagawa nods slowly, burying his face in Atsushi's shoulder. Dazai-san can hate him all he wants, Akutagawa could care less, as long as he had Atsushi. As long as Atsushi is here, the whole world could end and Ryunosuke wouldn't bat an eye. Atsushi is just that special. -- "How do you tell if you like someone?" Ryunosuke asked. He was over at Higuchi's new apartment, helping her make dinner. Gin was coming over later today, they were going to have a little family dinner as a celebration of Higuchi getting her new job. She landed a job as a manager at a bridal shop, and she's never been happier. Akutagawa is just happy to see her finally get the happy ending she's been working so hard for. "Like, romantically?" Higuchi asks, looking over to Akutagawa as she fries up some vegetables. "Yes," Akutagawa responds, "I'm having complicated feelings on someone, and I've just now realized that... I've never really had a crush on someone." "Ah, you're on the aroace spectrum, right?" Higuchi asked, to which Akutagawa nodded, "Well, crushes are weird. It's hard to explain romantic attraction. I guess you can start with questions, do you want to pend the rest of your life with this person?" Ryunosuke thought for a moment before nodding, "I think it'd be nice if I did..." "Do you have any sexual attraction towards that person? Not that that really matters, but it's good to consider." Akutagawa continues chopping vegetables as he thinks, then nodding a no, "I don't think so. Though I wouldn't mind having sex with him, if that's what he wanted." "That's pretty new for you," Higuchi replied, snatching the cutting board Akutagawa was using and dumping the rest of the sliced vegetables into her pan, "I mean, it sounds like a romantic crush, but I'm not great at romance, so take my words with a grain of salt." Akutagawa smiled a bit, "Thanks, Ichiyo." The blonde chuckles a bit, "Of course, Ryunosuke." -- After leaving a sealed envelope on Atsushi's desk, Ryunosuke went downstairs to join the rest of the agency for a celebratory lunch. Kyouka stayed upstairs with him, too, saying she'd cover for him to make it less obvious that Ryunosuke left the letter. He sat down beside Atsushi, who had apparently already ordered him his favorite tea, and was now chatting with Dazai. "Hey, you got rid of the coat!" Dazai comments, looking over to Akutagawa. Today is the first time in years that Akutagawa went without wearing the coat. He nodded, "Yes, you made me realize something a couple weeks ago. I decided to toss it today, and I'll get a new one at some point." Dazai smiles, "You've come a long way, kiddo." Akutagawa rolled his eyes, "Don't call me that." Kyouka comes down the stairs, brushing off her skirt as she promptly gets on the table Atsushi, Dazai, and Akutagawa are sitting at, standing on it. Akutagawa snatches his cup from off the table to prevent it from spilling. "Everybody, I have an announcement," Kyouka says, as most of the agency looks up at her, "I adopted a rabbit, his name is Shigeo." The agency starts clapping at Kyouka looks down, then continuing, "Wait, that wasn't the announcement... I mean, correction. The real announcement is that Kunikida and Dazai's wedding date has officially been confirmed, and it'll happen within a couple weeks. Kunikida is placing invitations now." Everyone in the coffee shop begins to clap and cheer this time as Kyouka smiles, sitting back down on the table. "You didn't tell me you were engaged!" Atsushi said, looking back at Dazai. "Ah, you had more important things to hear, didn't want to overwhelm you with that," Dazai explained, "But it seems everything solved itself, hm? So, I wanted to ask you if you wanted to be the best man?" Atsushi smiles and nods, "I'd love to!" Akutagawa is barely paying attention to their conversation, finding himself looking at Atsushi with a slight smile. "Hey," Kyouka says, nudging Akutagawa with her foot, "Maybe you'll be the one getting married next year." Akutagawa blushed, hiding his face in his hands, "Don't say such foolish things." "I mean it, though," she said, "You make him happy, Akutagawa. You've come such a long way, everyone at the agency is proud of you." Akutagawa lifts his head up, looking back at Kyouka before looking at everyone in the agency, having a fun time, laughing, smiling. ... It feels nice to be part of something like this. "I think... I am finally satisfied."

The whole thing starts because Akutagawa, probably on a long-standing mission to find less fatal and violent ways to ruin Atsushi’s life, decides that eating an even halfway proper amount of food before going out on a mission is below him and passes the fuck out when Atsushi needs him most. This leads to Atsushi taking way more bullets than was agreed upon while grumbling about what a shitty partner Akutagawa is, the whole time dragging said shitty partner out of the imminent realm of lead-flavored death raining down upon them.
He sits next to the bed the entire time Yosano is pumping fluids into Akutagawa to make sure that his irritated face is the first thing the bastard sees when he wakes up.
A good half an hour later, his patience pays off when Akutagawa blinks himself back to consciousness, takes in Atsushi’s deep frown, and closes his eyes again. “Weretiger.”
“Asshole,” Atsushi replies, and he can tell from Akutagawa’s heavy sigh that it cuts him just enough to make him feel the slightest hint of guilt. “Maybe if you ate more regularly, you wouldn’t pass out in the middle of gunfights. Do you know how many times I got shot because of you?”
“Obviously not enough, if you’re still alive to annoy me,” Akutagawa snips back. “Regrettably, you’re bulletproof. Shame.”
“For the last time, I’m not bulletproof, I’m death proof. It still hurts!”
“Whatever. I’m alive, congratulations, leave. I’m tired.”
Atsushi clenches and unclenches his fists a few times, the only thing holding him back from starting shit in Yosano’s office being the fact that he doesn’t want to start shit in Yosano’s office or she’s going to use him for ‘scientific experimentation’ again like she did the last time. Instead of causing a scene, he just inhales deeply and stands up, the chair scraping the floor as he does so. “Fine. Just take this, then,” he says, then drops something onto Akutagawa’s chest before turning on his heel and leaving the room.
Akutagawa looks down and sees a granola bar. The passive-aggressiveness is almost funny.
It would be one thing if it ended there, though, but it doesn’t. The next mission they run together goes much more smoothly, and after all is said and done Atsushi tosses the last unconscious body onto the pile of them, dusts himself off, and says, “Let’s get something to eat.”
If he had any eyebrows to raise, Akutagawa would do so, but all he can offer is the general area of an eyebrow cocking upward. “No thanks,” he replies, short and gruff as always. “I’m not hungry.”
“That wasn’t a request,” Atsushi says in retaliation, the challenge obvious in his voice. “You’ll notice I specifically phrased it so it wasn’t one.”
Sometimes it’s difficult to remind himself that technically, Akutagawa is the older one, what with the way he carries himself like an overgrown petulant child. He wrinkles his nose and Atsushi thinks this man is 23 and, with a great deal of effort, Akutagawa acquiesces. “It’s not because I like you,” Akutagawa says, because heaven forbid he doesn’t remind Atsushi at least three times a week that their partnership, while functional and pretty effective, is built on the desire of Dazai to make up for all of his own fuck-ups. It’s gotten better in the time since it officially unofficially formed—they’ve even done enough Good Deeds to get Akutagawa’s arrest warrant waived!—but there’s no way they’re ever not going to get on each other’s nerves. “Let’s just make it quick. I have important things to attend to.”
Like sucking up to Dazai-san? is on the tip of his tongue, as it usually is, but he isn’t in the mood to get bisected today, so he keeps it to himself. “Alright then, lead the way.”
“Excuse me?”
“You’re paying,” Atsushi clarifies, “so you’re choosing. You owe me.”
Akutagawa crosses his arms and the petulance returns. It’s kind of cute sometimes, if Atsushi can look past the shaved eyebrows and everything else going on with Akutagawa’s, er, aesthetics. “I owe you nothing.”
Motioning at his thigh, Atsushi replies, “You put Rashoumon through my leg today.”
“You were in the way of the enemy.”
“My leg, Akutagawa! That hurt!”
He clicks his tongue. “You healed just fine.” He stuffs his hands in his pockets and turns to walk away, leaving Atsushi sputtering on the sidewalk. He’s only a couple dozen feet away when he looks over his shoulder at Atsushi’s flustered face and says, “Are you coming or not, Nakajima?”
Atsushi opens his mouth and closes it a few times, feeling way too similar to a dying fish, but his feet have the right idea and he crosses the distance between them in a few strides. “Just for that, I don’t want anything cheaper than wagyu!”
(For what it’s worth, he does get his wagyu, along with a peek at the bill when Akutagawa is fishing out his credit card that makes him choke on his dessert.
“Don’t die before I kill you,” is what Akutagawa says, but it sounds more like something edging toward genuine concern. Weird.)
For the next eight months, every time they run a successful mission Atsushi invites Akutagawa out for food. It’s familiar. Almost... comfortable.
(Four months in, Akutagawa walks into the kitchen with his pants halfway up his thighs and frowns at Gin. “They don’t fit.”
She silently pumps her fist. Finally, finally he’s out of a size 0. She makes a mental note to send Atsushi a fruit basket.)
After a particularly messy outing, Atsushi surveys the state of his clothes—tattered beyond help—and sighs. He’s exhausted from the rapid blood loss and regeneration more than he usually is, and not for the first time he wishes he had an Ability that didn’t lend itself so well to being everyone’s meat shield.
Akutagawa looks beat to all hell too, so at least he’s not alone. There’s a streak of dried blood smeared from Akutagawa’s nose across his cheek from when he tried to wipe it away, and Atsushi can see the spot on his sleeve he used to wipe it when Akutagawa holds out his hand to help him back to his feet. “Good job out there today,” he says, expectant.
“Yeah, you too. Good job,” Atsushi replies, and Akutagawa preens ever so slightly. “Ugh, I’m exhausted. See you later, I guess.”
He turns to head back toward the agency dorms with the rest of the ADA, but stops after a few steps when he realizes he has a tag-along. He starts walking again and so does Akutagawa, matching him step-for-step.
Start. Stop. Start. Stop.
His eyebrow is twitching violently when he whips to the side to address Akutagawa. “Do you mind?”
“No.”
“You don’t live in this direction. Stop following me.”
“We’re getting food.”
He’s about to tear Akutagawa a new one because he’s tired and just wants to go home and sleep after the crapsack day he’s had when the full force of what Akutagawa said hits him like a train. It was just like the otsukare incident. He really is the worst kind of person.
“Oh my god,” he says, face in his hands. “I Pavloved you again.”
(It’s the best gyoza he’s ever had, at least.)

Bungo Stray Dogs S3E12 Review (Spoilers)
Ok. First of all,
Tumblr media
Second of all HOLY SHIT
TALK ABOUT OOF OUCH MY HEART HOLY SHIIIITT
OKOKOKOKOK the first thing I wanna talk about is Atsushi and Akutagawa!!!!!!!!!! I’m not gonna pretend like they don’t hate each other because they do!!!!!!! Of course they do!!!!!!!!!! But they worked so well together!!!!!!!! I’m gonna go ahead and skip over to when they were sinking into the ground,,,, and Aku wrapped Rashoumon around Atsushi and when Ivan turned around and looked at them there was just a hole in the ground where Atsushi was and Aku wasn’t wearing his coat . And then fucKIGN BAM ATSUSHI APPEARED FROM THE GROUND WEARING! AKU’S! COAT!!!!! WHEN I TELL YALL I NUTTED!!!!! I’VE LITERALLY NEVER BEEN STRAIGHTER!! I’m not even gonna get INTO what I felt about their relationship from there and when they fucking fused like crystal gems?????????? BITCH!! My heart!!
Tumblr media
Okay then when Junichiro and Kenji were up in the helicopter??? The sweetest boys!!!!!! God I just!!! Love them!!!!
And Dazai on the ground tryna figure everything out.... hhhhhhh what a man......
AND THEN!! WHEN PUSHKIN RAN OUT OF THE TUNNEL AND INTO AHHH!!!! THE ADA AND PM TEAMS WORKING TOGETHER!!!!!! MY HEART!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
Okokokok skip ahead a little to the cafe?? Holy SHIT!! When Fyodor is walking out and he stops and is like shocked, I was like “oop they didn’t play your song” and then he turned and Dazai was just sitting there making small talk to him I was like “OOP MY HEART IS MELTING THERE SHE GO”
And then Fyodor kills the guy that touches him and they take him away and Fitzgerald says “do you know what his ability is?” and Dazai says “nope” like b,, he can kill people on physical contact, you seen it with your own eyes, and you anticipated it!! Wdym you don’t know???
Tumblr media
Okay. Now the party. Oh god. Oh fuck. Here we go.
First thing I wanna say is how well dressed everyone was!!!! Ahhhh my heart they were so formal and professional!!!!
When Tanizaki and Kyouka and Kenji are all huddled up and Tanizaki goes “oh god oh fuck we were disobedient oh NO” and Kenji and Kyouka were like “yeah oh no bad you are correct we were goodn’t” and Tanizaki was just like alone in his stress lmao
Then fuckIGN RANPO!! They were so excited to see him!!!!! And ofc Yosano was already with him, bc they are best friends!!!! (I bet as soon as Ranpo got back he checked in with her and they hugged or fist bumped or bro-ed it out somehow. also she no doubt picked his clothes for him for the party jskdjk i don’t make the rules I just observe them) I am a little saddened that we didn’t get to witness the battle of wits between Ranpo and Chuuya, but I firmly believe that Bones did their best to try to implement everything they could into the 23 minutes they had. Plus, it may have been a lot to follow with everything that was happening all at once.
But anyway the party!! Ranpo was literally only concerned with stuffing his face with as much food as he can after what I’m positive was a relentlessly simple task for him.
Then President enters the room and they all bow and apologize and Kunikida just kinda appears out of nowhere and like drowns himself in guilt and President is just like “yall,,,, never listen do you ?? oh well for now let’s pArTaY”
Tumblr media
And then. Outside. Oh fuck. Here we go.
Dazai. Leaning against the railing. DRESSED SO FINE ( n u t 💦) .
And when Atsushi walked out with the champagne and he looked out where Dazai was staring and then looked at him, he was so deep in thought. Oh lord. Atsushi was def a little concerned for a sec. Then Dazai started talking to him about working with Aku and everything. And then. Here it is. When it showed what he was holding onto. The Bar Lupin matchbox(?) .
Yall. When he said “A Mafia member who doesn’t kill, huh?” MY HEART WAS IN CARDIAC FUCKING ARREST BITCH WHAT GAVE YOU THE RIGHT
WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO DO THAT
NOT OKAY
Then it showed him turning to face Atsushi, all dressed in his nice suit with that signature Sunset-Backed Smirk, AS IF MY HEART HADN’T EXPERIENCED ENOUGH OF A STROKE, and raised his glass, and Atsushi asked what they were toasting to, and he said: “to the stray dogs.”
THAT, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IS WHEN I LOST MY SHIT. TEARS. EMOTIONS. FEELINGS. THE WHOLE FUCKING SHEBANG.
IN CONCLUSION, BSD is and always will be my favorite anime, and something extremely close and special to me. I only pray that we get a season 4 sometime in the future, but for now, I think they’ve concluded beautifully.
Everybody say THANK YOU, BONES!!!!

F/O February Day 6: Media Crossover
More headcanons yet again! I feel like these are the easiest for me to do daily prompts, at least during the school week. I’ve decided to do this for Dazai, and my other bsd platonics, with a Fire Emblem 3 Houses AU! There are 3 houses spoilers under the cut, so be aware!
Of course, I’m using my 3 houses s/i, Fae! So Fae is apart of the Blue Lions originally but they’re trying to merge all of the houses together.
Dazai was supposed to be apart of the Black Eagles originally (that’s where the Port Mafia characters are), but he ended up going to the Golden Deer because he left the Port Mafia. He’s good with reason/magic and swords, but is terrible with lances. He’s also a great liar and it frustrates Claude to no end.
The Port Mafia are still a thing, they’re a group of some nobles, some merchants and commoners, who gained power through underhanded deals and criminal activities. Edelgard sort of knows who is apart of the Port Mafia, Chuuya and Akutagawa make it a bit obvious, but others such as the professor Hirotsu are harder to find out.
Also the Port Mafia works closely with Those Who Slither in the Dark. Certain members are even Those Who Slither in the Dark (*cough cough Mori cough cough*)
Like Byleth, Chuuya is also possessed by a god. He ends up joining the Emerald Wyverns and leaving the Black Eagles solely because of Byleth, because he feels kinda bad that they really don’t know how to handle their god (or so he thinks). He evens starts to question if he should leave the mafia because of Byleth, but also he doesn’t want to be like Dazai. It’s an internal struggle.
Fukuzawa is a professor at the academy, formerly a knight, who assists in teaching the Emerald Wyverns. He’s another father figure to Fae besides Jeralt. He also views Byleth as a child as well, and several other students who have terrible parents. He specializes in swordsmanship and faith.
Doppo and Ranpo joined the Emerald Wyvern house shortly after the Blue Lion house merged with it. Doppo really fits the ideal Blue Lions student with his ideals, and specializes in lances and horseback riding. Ranpo on the other hand probably would have been great in the Golden Deer house, but does well with the Emerald Wyverns; he specializes in reason and faith. Doppo is a noble while Ranpo is a commoner, who was found by Fukuzawa due to his incredible deduction skill.
Kenji is apart of the Emerald Wyverns, joining shortly after the mock battle because he thought they seemed nice. He’s great with axes and brawling, and his sweet disposition has earned him many new friends. He’s a commoner.
Yosano is another commoner, from a “merchant” family. She was actually apart of the Port Mafia but left soon after. She has great faith and axe skills, she makes a good cleric. She ended up joining the Emerald Wyverns and leaving the Black Eagles after seeing there were Port Mafia members.
Atsushi really has no idea how he ended up in Gareg Mach, if he’s quite frank. He’s a commoner who doesn’t even come from a merchant family, but Alois saw potential for him so he brought him to the school after Atsushi was kicked out of his own orphanage. He joins with the Emerald Wyverns because they seem to be the kindest, but they’re also kinda crazy. He specializes in brawling, and is also a tiger laguz (or whatever the 3 houses equivalent of a laguz is).
Kyoka was a member of the Black Eagles originally, and apart of the Port Mafia. She leaves after meeting Atsushi and Fae, and joins the Emerald Wyverns, leaving the mafia behind. She’s skilled in swordsmanship and reason, and is working on bettering herself.
Dazai ends up joining the Emerald Wyverns on a whim, a bit before the Golden Deer does. It’s clear that he and Fukuzawa know each other, and seems that it was planned for him to join with Fukuzawa either way.
He’d also never admit it, but the leader of the Emerald Wyverns interests him, and he has a growing crush on them.
Dazai’s and Fae’s relationship, at least pre timeskip, is rather interesting. Dazai obviously knows their hiding a big secret and he wants to know. Fae knows that he’s curious about them, so they use it to their advantage to get Dazai to take care of himself more often. The two also scheme a lot together, both being great tacticians.
Fae stays as far away from Ranpo as possible, before it’s revealed their half manakete. They’re petrified of him finding out and telling everyone and then everyone hating them. Ranpo wasn’t even suspicious of them hiding something until they start to avoid him like the plague, though.
He’s low-key worried that it’s them trying to do something bad, but quickly figures out it’s much more personal. At that point he goes and tells them he won’t force their secrets out of them, and they cry in relief. After that Ranpo and Fae quickly become friends.
Out of all of the ADA,  Fae’s closest with Atsushi because he’s also not human! And he’s so casually a laguz is blows Fae’s mind. They end up telling him about their manakete heritage before the reveal, and the two talk about what its like to be the only nonhumans all the time. It’s a sort of unity thing that bonds them together. Atsushi thinks its a bit silly that they’re hiding such a thing, because obviously everyone accepts him for who he is.
Post reveal Fae and Dazai get closer because he realizes that Fae was just scared because of their past, and he starts getting protective over them. Especially because they’re so genuinely kind despite all the shit the world has thrown at them. He doesn’t want that kindness to die.
Post timeskip when Dazai sees Fae after they went missing he nearly breaks down in tears. Because he thinks he’s gonna end up like Dimitri with his own ghosts haunting him. But when he finds out it is actually Fae he ends up crying as he holds them. It’s the most emotional he’s ever been since Oda’s death, and he’s sure they’re the only one allowed to see him like this.

May I get some imagines of Atsushi, Chuuya, and Tanizaki reacting to there fem s/o saving them and ending up in a coma as a result? Thank you! Love you writing :D
Nakajima Atsushi
It’s been about five months since that incident occurred that led to this present day full of glum and disgustingly bittersweet. No matter what the doctor and nurses say, their encouragement felt artificial to the poor detective and hearing Dr. Yosano’s personal opinion on the matter, it didn’t make him feel any better. Atsushi slides open the private patient room and sits beside the white bed. He stares at her sleeping face while grasping her hand softly and gently. The sickly smell of the hospital was almost unbearable for Atsushi’s sensitive nose yet he’s been here almost every single day. The beast boy shifts his empty gaze towards the window, reminiscing back at that time where all of this mess started. Ah, yes, he still remembers it clear as day and unfortunately, not once did he thought he deserved forgiveness. Atsushi’s mind flashes back to the past when he was assigned to infiltrate and dismantle a foreign organization who were invading Yokohama near the harbor. He managed to sneak into their base with his significant other who was also assigned with the daring mission. Atsushi was the main character of the plan and yet he failed when the enemy leader pulled a surprise attack and initiated a bombarding parade. Explosions happened from left to right while neighboring boats were heavily damaged from the recoiling shrapnels that flung here and there from the dire explosion. Atsushi couldn’t see anything until he saw a sudden blue, oceanic scenery slanting from his perspective. He was pushed off the edge into the sea by a person he knew all too well to be true. Atsushi’s hand tried to reach out to his significant other, but she only gave him a pained expression with a reluctant smile plastered on her face as he embraced into the deep blue waters. As a result, she saved Atsushi from the explosion as she became kinda like the martyr of the whole incident. Atsushi hated the fact that she tried to sacrifice herself to save a cowardly weakling like Atsushi who couldn’t even fulfill the mission that primarily assigned to him. To this day, he still believes it is his fault that his dear significant other has entered in a coma-like state right in front of him. Atsushi holds their hands, shaping their hands into a prayer like his. He wonders if god exists because if so, he prays desperately until dusk that his significant other will wake up soon.
Nakahara Chuuya
Yokohama’s night scenery was unfailingly bright. Its city lights were bustling and glowing with excitement as if anything depressing didn’t exist. The private Yokohama hospital was quiet compared to the popular city of Japan as most doctors retreated back to their dorms or apartments while the nurses continued work and tend to the patients nonstop throughout their ghost shifts. One of the nurses came inside to the VIP patient room and changed the IV drip of the comatosed woman. The nurse looks at the poor patient and sighs. A feeling of pity crept inside the nurse lady as she cleaned the room while another nurse came inside to help her. “I wonder if this patient have any family members? Usually, we’d have visitors requesting but this patient never has any visitors...”The nurse who came inside after her coworker responded.“Actually, there is one person... but he never stays longer than three minutes.”She gives a puzzling look to her fellow nurse, “I wouldn’t call that a visit if it’s only for three minutes.”The beeping noises of the machine filled the atmosphere like background music between the two nurses sharing a conversation. The senior nurse who felt pity for the young woman in comatose changed her blankets as she continued to listen to the other nurse’s ramblings. “This is only a rumor but apparently, the one person who visits this patient is supposedly a member of the Port Mafia organization and on top of that, an executive too!”The feeling of pity grew stronger. What kind of unfortunate event has led to this patient in bed asleep for two years? Could it be that evil Port Mafia man was the sole reason that this poor girl became in a comatose state? Maybe... but once again, the feeling of pity grew stronger. “I feel sorry for this girl. She has no family and no friends. I bet that rumored Port Mafia man isn’t visiting her with good intentions.”The younger nurse objected her coworker’s statement. “I don’t think so,” she points to a white vase on the windowsill that held a beautiful flower, “see that?”The purple flower looked strikingly beautiful but strangely, its bud was closed and the purplish petals were huddled together as if it was hiding. “It’s an anemone flower. Although it’s a sorrowful flower, it also means anticipation.”“Anticipation? Anticipation for what?”“To the day they’ll wake up. You see, that flower closes up like that in night while it blooms during the day,” the nurse continues, “the Port Mafia man I mentioned places a new anemone flower every single day. Romantic, isn’t it?”Now it all makes sense. The nurse who felt nothing but pity for the young patient came to a realization that this patient was in truth well loved and taken care of. Even though she didn’t have any family, she did have someone who deeply cares about her. After cleaning up, the two nurses leave the patient’s room and head off to their next duty. To summarize, Nakahara Chuuya has been visiting his significant other every single morning since the day of the unfortunate incident that happened two years ago. Chuuya took on a dangerous mission that led him into a trap but thanks to his significant other who got the help of Mushitarou’s Perfect Crime ability, Chuuya’s partner became injured and resulted in a coma while ultimately saving Chuuya. It would be no exaggeration that Chuuya’s feelings was filled with guilt, anger, and sadness but as a strong man who promised himself to watch over his lover, he’s been visiting his girlfriend at the Yokohama hospital while leaving a single anemone flower every morning. Perhaps the most pitiful person isn’t the patient like the nurse thought, but actually Chuuya himself...
(The next morning came, and Chuuya’s purple anemone flower bloomed with anticipation.)
Tanizaki Junichirou
Since the incident of three months ago occurred, the Armed Detective Agency has become busy with nonstop requests and missions. Kunikida and Atsushi would often go investigating together while Dr. Yosano and Edogawa Ranpo solves detective cases whereas Dazai and Kyouka does their own thing when needed. In particular though, Tanizaki has become profoundly busy at work--- more so than anyone else at the ADA which was strange and a little worrying since he has become unhealthily and darkly workaholic due to his significant other has entered in a comatose state. Many of his friends were worried about him but Tanizaki would often shrug off their concern and put on a fake smile saying he appreciated their thoughts. The only person who knew the complete truth was Naomi who has been visiting Tanizaki’s significant other every day at the hospital. She came inside the room with white flowers and a fruit basket. She takes a seat beside her brother’s girlfriend while grabbing an apple and peeling the skin skillfully with a knife. She sighs. Although she knows she’s in a deep sleep, Naomi hopes that there may be a chance that her brother’s lover was listening to her speak even asleep. Naomi talks about her day and all the funny things that has happened at the ADA before coming to a short silence. She begins reminiscing the past. “You might be wondering how my brother is doing. For the most part, he’s doing okay but at the same time, not so much.”Naomi sighs at the fact her brother has never visited his significant other--- not even once.“But don’t worry, he’s only upset that he wasn’t able to save you even though you saved us. Ever since then, he’s been taking on dangerous solo missions and wouldn’t even ask for backup or help.”The knife slipped and pricked Naomi’s finger as she tried to peel the apple skin. Tears began to well up as her voice swelled. Naomi recalls the day where she was held hostage by an enemy group. As Tanizaki tried to save his sister, one of the hitman shot a sneak attack at Tanizaki and Naomi. Bullets came fast like the speed of lightning and while the siblings were left defenseless, Tanizaki’s significant other became their shield as she jumped in taking the bullets to the chest and head--- protecting them. Tanizaki took blame of the incident no matter how much his sister protested. Perhaps the reason Tanizaki has never visited his partner was because he wanted to become stronger first before finally visiting or maybe, he promised himself some things that guaranteed his significant other waking up one day. Stream of tears came dripping down on Naomi’s cheeks and onto the white cotton sheets. She looks up to her sister-in-law and pleads.“Wake up soon, okay?”Unbeknownst to Naomi, Tanizaki stood behind the door of the patient room all this time while listening to the soft sobs of his sister along with the soft heart monitor beeps of his beloved’s.
