The Time Patrol Travelers fiddled with his time machine, pressing numerous buttons to function. for the signal of transmitting to another realm of a reality.
Trunks was sweating in a hesitant way not knowing what was going on with the machine. was it running out of energy? or yet was it because it hasn't been fueled? he desperately tried resetting the settings for information through the issue of a diagnosis. The system runs scans within the synchronizing drive by reconfiguring its automation of a built in settings. letting it pile into the computer's brain, for the AI doing a setup of continuous updates for a solution. Suddenly trunks checked the AI's analysis of the problem, it was only just low few and incomplete parts. damaged from other alternative traveling events through timelines pieced the machinery's parts to fragments. The Saiyan, was relieved then, he hopped in the seat. surrounded by other buttons to renovate it's hardware of several gears to be intact for its course. He gently fixated his eyes on the inside of the hood from the machine by booting up any other reliable sources, to modernize into equivalent gears for networking its connection.
He coordinated every part from the guidelines of the AI's Automated Voice for guidance towards direction. while, fixing itself from its energy supply of any kinks to make sure it's proof of any multiverse of an alternative world can handle, its fuel through the matter of its space. slowly the AI tuned up the gears trunks was whipping up with the extension of hours. that was put in for its motorized engine, everything was done in a few minutes accompanied by the AI's Repairing tools of equipment appliances.
All that was left was a final restoration for rebooting their progress into good use. the computer automatically shut off from a soft shut down from the power button. a symbol of a percentage accumulated into numbers started its rate of counting down, through proportions handling, the significance changes for its template of an updated outlook for the optimized system. compiled into one log of a download, from the cord of plugging the machines energy for information. Trunks heard noises from the computer indicating that it was finished from it's voice.
TIME MACHINE TRANSFERRING DATA COMPLETE ‼️
The Time Patroller, grabbed his own sword and the little capsule corp object, trunks carried for supplies of food, a house etc. He got into the cylinder bubbly glass like material of a hood then, closed it by using one button of an integral component. started floating slowly building the pace of its stamina. the sounds coming together with its yellow spiked gears forming the rotation of a circle. fiery gas formed like a built space ship of a rocket. from the forefront enacted as, it's substitution for wings. Everything was just fine, now all the future warrior needed to do was head to an exact location for it's period through time. entering the data, the machine recognizes during its previous travels. Trunks tried to go into the same timeline but the machine was having malfunctions again, by prohibiting him from traveling to a specific time in space. Even though, Time Travel is a taboo against the laws. Although, the machine disapproved it then, boosted into a flash warping from a customized idea of extracting unfamiliar timelines. forcing it's destination to an odd atmosphere of a place, same timeline where Goku and the others are, in a world but in a different planet the Traveler wasn't aware of. shifting from one period into another like a slideshow of screening every memory of a timeline was a world of it's own calculated cause for change. gazed upon the past in a iriscent imagination of colors revamping. as, the air gets heavier. the machine is worn down. UNFORTUNATELY,
| WOOSH⁉️💥💥 |
TIME MACHINE: AGE ❓❓❓
DESTINATION: UNKNOWN
The machine was overheating from exertion of placing itself through other life forms by hosting those past timelines. to fuel new versions of a modified course, for history through change would undone his living hell in a possibility of nightmares. The machine was laid down towards its side. however, the glass was broken. luckily, it could be repaired so, trunks put the machine into a little capsule corp to be rebuilt by that same computer inside, to reprocess its issues. in the mean time, he was lost but couldn't help himself to find where was he at?
" HELLO ❗❗ Anyone home? I need some help? "
suddenly he felt a presence a huge surge of energy coming towards him. it wasn't Goku nor the other's. so who could it be?
" Hm? is that Another Saiyan I feel from this strange resurgence of Ki? "

Hello! I thought I’d do a wild card reading today after revamping my blog and before throwing myself into schoolwork. After some practice, I wanted to start doing five-card tarot pulls instead of just three, so here we are! The postcards featured on this PAC were given to me, but I can’t really use them to write to anyone (lol) so I thought that maybe I could use them for this reading! Let’s get started!
Decks used:
Star Spinner Tarot by Trungles
Heavenly Bodies Astrology Deck by Lily Ashwell
Tumblr media
PILE 1: Pink Flower Cat
Cards: Scorpio Venus in the 5th House, Knight of Swords (R), The Star, I of Coins, IX of Wands, The Fool
Life has not been kind to you lately; you’ve been getting your butt kicked, if we’re being honest here. Something terrible has happened, and as a result, you’ve been left confused of what to do next. You should know that it’s okay to feel confused, but at the same time, you should know that life will only get better from here! Keep your chin up, the future is bright! How so? You’re going to be presented with a new opportunity: maybe a change in your environment or a new job. It’s not exactly going to be easy peasy lemon breezy, but don’t feel discouraged because this is a new chapter in your life! Life is supposed to be a rollercoaster. Otherwise, you won’t have much fun! Yes, it will take a bit of time for you to get where you really want to be, and I know that some of you don’t like rollercoasters and some of you especially hate it when the rollercoasters have loops, but you’ll be so close to your goal before you realize it! Will you give up when you’ve worked so hard and spent so much time dedicating yourself to achieving your dreams? Will you back out on the adrenaline of taking challenges head on when you’re already in the cart and you have your seatbelt on? No! It definitely has been hard, but all these things were meant to happen, one way or another, for your benefit. These hardships will only serve to make you stronger and better, so don’t give up! Lastly, some things actually go well even when you dive in head first. Emphasis on the word “some” because we know that you’ve learned enough lessons to not do that all the time. Maybe give it a try and be spontaneous every once in a while, you might be pleasantly surprised by the outcome!

PILE 2: Nighttime Butterflies Cat
Cards: Taurus Mars in the 12th House, Queen of Swords, IV of Swords, Death, X of Coins, Queen of Wands
You seem to be in for a transformation that will take quite some time to complete, but I don’t think you’re the type of person who seems to mind that. Right now, or maybe back then, you’re considered to be someone that people can rely on, though you’re a little rough around the edges. Whatever it is that you do in life, you do it well, but you might be a little cutthroat? Or at least that’s what people seem to think about you, but maybe you just like to think of yourself as someone who is straightforward. After all, why waste time, right? Why not just get to the point instead of just beating around the bush? It’s not that you get a kick out of hurting feelings, it’s just that you’re not afraid to do it because it’s not your responsibility to care about what other people think, much less cater to their feelings. But something unpleasant seems to stem out of this, though I don’t really think it’s your fault. I believe this is just something that you’re meant to learn despite getting a little frazzled by it. As a result, you will make the decision to take a break, a little breather just to regroup, to gather your thoughts and collect yourself. Something has to change, you think to yourself, but it can’t and won’t happen overnight. So you take your time with it, but at the same time, you welcome it wholeheartedly, because deep down you know this was meant to happen somehow. By the time you come out of your little break, you feel refreshed. You might even feel like a whole new person! But you’ll always stay true to yourself, won’t you? It’s just that you feel like doing things a little differently now, which is great! You still work hard, of course, but you seem a little warmer now. People see you in a different light, and it feels great; not because you were trying to please them, but because you were trying to do what’s best for you. And you were right, as always.

PILE 3: Sparkly Cat
Cards: Libra Neptune in the 7th House, I of Chalices, V of Wands, IX of Swords, IV of Wands, II of Coins
There seems to be some kind of conflict here, which just happens to be the one thing that you hate. It’s at the center of your concerns right now; it seems to be all that you think about. It’s stressing you out because you’re not the type of person to get involved in such unpleasant situations. In fact, you make it a point to steer clear of it. Alas, we all have to face things that we aren’t a very big fan of. We can only hope that we find the strength within ourselves to conquer it and come out stronger at the other end. Lucky for you, this is exactly what’s meant to happen. These kinds of situations don’t exactly have to be a bad thing, so please don’t fret. It’s better to welcome it with a sense of optimism and compassion, for the other party, yes, but especially for your own self because I can feel that you might as well be losing sleep over this if it’s been going on for a while. Remember that it’s especially important for you to be kind and patient with yourself and your resources. After this, you’ll end up becoming much busier as a result, but with good reason, because this is all going towards you achieving your goals! I feel like the aforementioned conflict will allow you to end up in this fortunate space. Because of what happened, you’re able to prove that you can handle situations that other people aren’t very good at solving, so you’ll be rewarded for that! All your hard work will be worth it, I promise! Even if you find things to be a bit confusing or hazy at times, know that nothing will stop you from fulfilling your dreams!

PILE 4: Balloon Besties
Cards: Aries Pluto in the 11th House, Wheel of Fate, Queen of Chalices, I of Coins, The Tower, V of Chalices
You have exhausted all your efforts for the sake of something… or someone? Perhaps for some of you it’s for more than one person. I can’t help but feel that this was you doing something for a certain group of people. Either way, they seem to be upset even if you didn’t even do anything wrong. Now you’re just disheartened at everything that’s happened. So much was put at stake, but you made it a point to push through with it because this is what you truly wanted. Unfortunately, things have not gone your way. It’s upsetting, isn’t it? It seems like this is not the first time this has happened. If that’s the case, something has to change, no? Perhaps you have to open your heart to people who are truly worthy of your time. You deserve people who actually lend a helping hand or a listening ear to you without you having to feel like you must rationalize your feelings at all times. Worry not, because despite the fact that it didn’t work out this time, doesn’t mean that it won’t work out the next time you try. There was just something about your execution or your process; your foundation, which was not very sturdy. You can try again. Here, things are much different this time around. As always, it’s not exactly going to be a walk in the park, but nothing worthwhile is ever easy. All those points of failure has brought you to this very moment, to a place where you are able to open yourself to a new and much better opportunity. You will be able to freely express yourself without much thought; you will actually get to see your dreams come into fruition. By the time you know it, you will have realized that all the hardships you’ve gone through has helped shaped who and what you are to become the best possible version of yourself.

Ok, so, new (actually pretty old, but I revamped most of it) fic idea!
I remembered this bad boy sitting way in the back of my pile of old fic ideas I nearly went through with, touched it up, and shall now pitch it to all my fellow Varian fans out there! (most of it was original, but then I changed it up because I was inspired by shows like “What If...” and “Loki”, so you may see some similarities, but those ideas were already there a few years before those shows, they just looked a bit different)
This post is long, so if you want to hear about it, just click the read more button.
Plot
So, this fic starts post-series, about 4 months after the finale (maybe more). Varian finds some old Demanitus designs (or maybe a hidden room full of weird equipment), and Varian being Varian decides to build it. He ends up making a weird mask and glove (the glove has a weird circle symbol on it with a couple of runes). He ends up somehow pricking his finger and some of his blood drips on the center of the circle. Varian thinks nothing of it and moves on, trying to figure out what the glove/mask can do and how he can activate them.
Suddenly, (while he’s wearing them) they start working, and a smallish portal opens up from underneath him, which he falls through. Suddenly, he’s in a whole new place, very different from anywhere he had ever seen. He begins walking around, exploring, and sees amazing things, like dragons and magic and stuff, just out and about. It’s straight up HIGH fantasy. He’s like an isekai protagonist in a fantasy world.
While Varian’s walking around, he is suddenly attacked by a group of generic monsters, but a mysterious stranger saves him. He thanks the stranger, whose face is covered, and asks if they can tell him where he is. The stranger looks him up and down before saying “far away from your home, Varian. Very far away.” Varian, surprised and a little bit suspicious, asks how this stranger knows his name, and then who they are. The stranger simply says that they are someone who can help him. They introduce themselves as “One”, and request that Varian follow them to safety.
Varian, looking around him, decides that he’d rather just trust One than get stranded, so he follows them. They find a good place to stay for the night, and One asks if they can see Varian’s glove. Varian cauciously hands it over, and One looks it over before handing it back, then decides to explain the situation.
“Varian, have you ever heard of the multiverse theory?”
“Yeah, I read about it in Demanitus’ book. It talks a bit about how there could be infinite universes parallel to our own and each other, each event creating new universes based on the alternate versions of those events. Some universes also work entirely differently from others, or the flow of time is different, so there might be a universe where everyone is a chicken, or a universe where everyone that exists now is living 100 years in the future compared to us. But everything also moves at the same pace. It’s like a time paradox. Sorry, I’m rambling. Why are we talking about the multiverse theory?”
“Well, my young alchemist, what you have there is called a thread jumper. It allows you to jump between universes, and travel the multiverse.”
“Wait, so what you’re saying is, I’m in another universe?”
“Precisely.”
After a small panic attack, One explains that they know all about this kind of stuff, since they have a jumper too, and can help get Varian home. The only problem is, Varian’s jumper isn’t working. One says they know someone who might know how to help, and they walk to a strange hut. One barges into it without knocking, shouting “what’s up Science Bitch” as they entered.
Inside is a guy reading a book, who immediately puts it down to yell at One, shouting “I’M A WIZARD YOU-” before noticing Varian. They stare at each other for a long moment, due to the fact that they are both Varian.
So, introductions are made, short existential crisises are had, and Wizard!Varian sits down to look at OG!Varian’s (That’s what I’m calling our Varian) jumper.
Turns out, Varian’s jumper is a bit weird, and requires a day or two to recharge after a jump, so they have to wait a while for it to charge (it seems that Varian can only travel using his own jumper, and can’t just hold onto One or anything). They all groan at this, but decide to take advantage of this by getting to know each other a bit. Wizard!Varian and One already know each other very well, and have a history with the multiverse stuff, but they don’t want to talk about it much with OG!Varian. Instead, they tell him a tad bit more about how some of the stuff works, and ask about his world.
After a few hours of conversation, Wizard!Varian decides to observe the jumper a little more, and finds some more bad news. So, he doesn’t know why, but it doesn’t have settings, so they have no control over where OG!Varian might end up when he teleports. Uh oh. So they might have to do a slightly more old fashioned way; just keep teleporting until they get to the right world. OG!Varian will be able to tell when he’s in the right universe though, so it should be okay! Besides, they can probably find someone to help them fix it since Wizard!Varian can’t.
So, One vows to help get Varian home, and they soon (after it finishes charging) head off. The fic will start out slightly episodic, with a bit of a “universe of the week” type format. In each one, they will meet a different Varian (since this fic is centered around the different Varian AUs. Some crossovers may happen occasionally, but there will always be a Varian there). While they are in each universe, they may end up helping the Varian there in some way or another, and later on in the story, one or two may end up joining the duo.
Eventually, the plot will pick up, and become something a bit bigger, with plenty of lore and character development for the Varians. I already have the bigger idea for the plot and most backstories already planned out in my head, but don’t want to give it away in case I starting making this proper.
Anyways, that’s my fic idea. I call it “Varian!AU” and nobody can make me change the title.
I’m probably gonna add more info and ideas in a reblogged version of this post, so look out for that on my blog!
Hope you guys think this is interesting! I’d like to hear some suggestions for AUs I could include (I already have a long list, but I want to see some other stuff people come up with)!

“i was going to ask that you go easy on me. i’m feeling kind of tender today.” For whomever you want!
Being alone is something that Bruce thought was the best option for him. He doesn’t really like being social or “on” all the time, and he’s fine with drinking tea in his room and working on homework. For fun, he’ll usually watch one of his “shows” on the weekends.
Being alone can oftentimes lead to being lonely, unfortunately. One of the drawbacks, and something that Bruce doesn’t like.
He thought he was pretty well-adjusted to college. He didn’t really need to make friends immediately. His mother had written to him from Aunt Becca’s house on new stationary that friends come along when you’re least expecting it.
And then he got to orientation and his leader said that “friends are something you need to pursue! Get out there and go make some! Join a club!”
Bruce had not done that.
He doesn’t want to say that he’s scared of people, but they...intimidate him. He was made fun of his whole elementary and most of his high school time, so it’s not like Bruce learned how to successfully navigate friendship.
So here he is in his dorm on a Wednesday night at 10:34, post-shower, and he realizes that he is all alone and he probably needs to change that.
But he’s not sure how. He’s not great at “event-crashing” and there’s no way that he’s just going to sit down and talk to somebody. He’s in it for the confusion, it seems.
A week later, there’s a knock on his door.
It’s one of the girls who lives on his floor, Nat or Natalie or something.
“I smelled coffee,” she says. “And I want to know if I can have some.”
“Um...sure? Do you want cream or sugar or anything?”
“Is the cream flavored?”
“Yeah, it’s the, uh, new fall flavor. I thought it could be good in coffee.”
Her eyes light up, and she walks straight into his room, not even noticing the notes pinned all over his cork-board and the sad laundry pile in the corner. She pours coffee neat as can be into her own mug, sits down on the desk chair, and looks at him.
“Are you going to have any?”
“Uh...yes?”
He pours some, and then gets the cream out. He passes it over to her, and she takes it gladly.
“None of us really see you anywhere,” she says. “Why is that?”
“I, um. I guess I don’t get out much,” Bruce mutters. “Can you...can you smell the coffee from my room?”
“Not from where I am, but Clint lives across the hall,” Nat says. “Room 816. He wanted coffee, but was too shy to ask if he could. We’ll provide coffee costs so long as we get it.”
“Um, sure,” Bruce says. “I always leave my room unlocked. I’m Bruce.”
“Nat, I live in 842. What are you majoring in?”
“Chemistry and biology,” Bruce answers easily. “A focus in genetics.”
“Whoa. Cool. I’m studying business and security.”
“What do you want to do with that, if you don’t mind me being the millionth person to ask that?”
Natasha smiles, and Bruce can tell that she’s more than most people think.
“My friend Tony and his boyfriend want to revamp his dad’s company, so they’re gonna need a bodyguard.”
“Cool,” Bruce says. “I want to help people and create cures.”
“Always honorable. You wanna come with us to the drive-in movie tonight?”
Bruce blinks. He’s not expecting an invitation to be thrust his way so...directly.
“Um, sure. You sure about that?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?”
“Well...we’ve never met before this.”
“We’ve done enough,” Natasha says easily, grabbing her mug and heading for the door. “We’re meeting in the lobby at eight, but we’re getting dinner at seven if you wanna come to that. Tony would really like to meet you, he’s been complaining about the lack of ‘smart’ people.”
“I’ll...I’ll see you, then.”
Right at six, Bruce is nervously tugging at the hem of his shirt, or wringing his hands.
He sees a guy who he thinks is Clint.
“Oh hey! You came!” he says with a grin. “Do you have any bandages?”
“Do you need one?”
“In the future? Yes. Currently? No,” he says, getting out his phone. “What do you think you’ll get for dinner?”
“Um, probably their lasagna or something. I know that the pizza tonight is barbecue chicken.”
Clint pulls a face.
“The worst one, bleh. Ooh, Thor’s on his way!”
Thor is...Thor. There’s literally no other word to describe the vibe of him.
He’s wearing a flannel, jeans, and he looks like he could be a nature guide at a national park.
Bruce is stunned. He’s never seen him around before.
“You met Thor yet?” Nat asks, lips curving into a smile.
“No,” Bruce says faintly. “I don’t think I have.”
And then in walks Tony and Jim (or Rhodey?), and his eyes light up.
“Bruce, my darling dearest. I heard that you are a smart man, and I am all about smart men. Let’s talk science.”
Bruce  actually gets engaged in conversation, and he loves it, even when Steve says “could we have this in English, please?”
"Absolutely not,” Tony says. “Bruce and I are on the same wave length, so you will have to get used to us being annoying.”
“Sorry Steve,” Bruce says softly.
Steve grins.
“I’m just joking around, Bruce. Don’t worry about it. Wait until I start talking about art techniques.”
Dinner is good. Bruce gets to know more about everyone, and laughs out loud at most of Nat’s dry humor.
“Finally, someone with good taste,” she says. “You’re coming to the movie, right?”
“What’s playing?”
“One of my favorites,” Thor rumbles. “Ben-Hur.”
“We’re going to fall asleep,” Sam murmurs to Bruce. “Like, seriously. It’s boring.”
“The set design isn’t,” Bruce says softly. He saw the movie once with his cousin Jen and their grandpa. “It’s a beautifully made one.”
“Then you can sit next to Thor,” Tony decides. “Because otherwise he’ll spend the whole time trying to wake us up so that we don’t miss a part, or several.”
“It’s a good movie,” Thor says, although he seems to know that he’s lost the debate.
“We’ll have a good time regardless,” Clint says. “Especially since I’m planning on eating a whole tray of Oreos and passing out.”
“At least save some for me,” Sam says. “I don’t want a repeat of last time.”
“Your fault for making moon-eyes at Bucky,” Nat retorts.
“Oh, I did not.”
“You did,” Thor said simply. “But let’s get to the car before we lose our spot.”
There’s not exactly a spot to lose. The only other people are older couples and the occasional young teenage couple who has every intention of parking a bit further away and hoping to god everyone ignores them.
(And everyone will.)
Bruce comes to find that they weren’t joking about having him sit next to Thor; they point out that Thor is actually really excited to have someone to talk to.
“It’s true,” Thor says, grabbing a blanket out of the car to settle down over his chair.
Or at least, that’s what Bruce thought was going on.
What goes on is that Thor shares it.
“Weather’s supposed to go low tonight,” Thor says. “Can’t have you getting cold and me knowing I could’ve done something about it.”
Bruce will say, if anyone asks, that he was not blushing and they can’t prove it because it was dark outside.
He moves his chair closer.
After all, he doesn’t want to stretch the blanket farther than it can reach. And he wants to hear Thor better.
The orchestral music starts up and floats in between cars, and Thor looks at the screen, completely enraptured.
Nat gives Bruce a look, and he looks away.
“I brought soda, you want some?” Tony whispers.
Bruce jumps as he turns to face the genius, who is so unbelievably close.
“There’s Dr. Pepper and Pepsi but with cherry.”
“Cherry, please,” Thor rumbles. “Bruce, for you?”
“Um, I’m...I’m good.”
-
Movie night is...nice.
Bruce doesn’t really focus on the plot that much, not when Thor is whispering every so often about a favorite piece of music or what he liked about an actor’s choice.
He doesn’t mind it. Not at all. He notices the smallest things, and Thor passes him over a snack. It’s nice.
It’s nicer when they drive back and Thor tells him that he’s glad he came.
“I’ve seen you around, I just wasn’t sure how to get you to come with us,” Thor says. “You’re always in your room.”
“I tend to be a bit of a homebody,” Bruce says nervously, readjusting his glasses. “I, uh...I’m just not always accustomed to people.”
“That’s alright,” Thor says. “We’re having dinner again, we always have it at six. Feel free to come. Nat would like to see you again. You’ve been on her hit list.”
“Her what?”
“Friendship, don’t worry,” Clint says. “She has a certain list of people she wants to ‘hit’ as her friends. We’ve tried to get her to change the name about eight times.”
“It means serious business,” Nat scoffs. “Also Bruce, you have to come get coffee with me this weekend.”
Friendship is a confusing business, Bruce decides. He loves it, but it’s confusing. Mainly because he can’t believe that people actually want to hang out with him. He’s waiting for the other shoe to drop.
“You keep waiting for shoes to drop, but we never throw them up in the air,” Sam says. “Now come on and come with me to get Bucky from his stupid class and harass him into coming grocery shopping with us.”
Bruce laughs.
“Okay, but I need to make a list first. Otherwise I’m going to forget to get the tea for Tony.”
It becomes comfortable, and he...he enjoys it. He likes that they cook dinner (disastrously) for Halloween together, and they all dress up in as best a costume as they can manage.
He gets inside jokes with everyone, and he and Nat make a habit of having coffee in his dorm room most mornings before heading down for breakfast, and they all eat lunch together outside when the weather is nice.
He and Tony get along fantastically, and they both help each other bounce ideas off one another and come up with new ways to think about problems.
-
And then...there’s Thor.
Thor is his friend, one of his best ones. But there’s something that he’d like to be more there, and he’s never sure how to approach it. He’s not even sure if Thor wants to approach it.
They walk together and they nap together, and Bruce sometimes wonders if Thor looks at him as much as Bruce looks at him.
They go on errands together, and they’re usually always sitting together for movie nights.
Nat thinks Bruce is acting ridiculous.
“Quit being a little bitch and go ask him out,” she says over coffee. Steam curls around the mug, and Bruce looks away for a minute, pulling a face.
“Nat, he’s....he’s Thor. I can’t just ask someone like him out.”
“Why not?”
“Because I ramble about genetics and how much I appreciate certain scientists! How is that going to translate when we go on a date and I can’t figure out what to say?”
Natasha looks at him like he’s the biggest idiot in the galaxy.
“You’re the worst,” Natasha decides. “You guys already go on dates, basically. I mean, he doesn’t let anyone else come with you guys to go get ice cream on Saturday nights. You go grocery shopping with him and make those mug-brownies together.”
“That’s....”
“You don’t do that with anyone else, do you? I’m so sure that you don’t, otherwise I would have heard about it by now.”
Bruce shrugs, sighing and pouring himself his cup of coffee.
Natasha’s face softens, and she hops up onto the bed beside him.
“Look. I know you have this whole self-loathing thing going on, and god knows most of us on this floor do as well. But just because of that, it doesn’t mean you get to deny yourself happiness. If that was the case, I’d never bring home latkes.”
Bruce smiles softly.
“Thanks, Nat.”
“No problem. Also, we’re having family dinner inside to talk about an upcoming vacation, possibly.”
“Vacation?”
“We ditch class on Friday if we can help it, and we spend the weekend at a lake nearby. You wanna come?”
“Sure!”
Thor is currently enduring a pep talk from Bucky and Sam, who are both quite bad at pep talks.
“You can do this!” Sam says. “What’s the worst that could happen?”
“I can think about twenty different ways,” Bucky says. “But I won’t mention them.”
“Bucky, you are grievously bad at this,” Thor stresses.
“What are you, my English professor? What’s with the vocab?”
“Uses big words when he’s stressed,” Sam mutters. “Thor, you’ll be fine. It will go well.”
“Or it will leave me flummoxed.”
“Shut up.” Bucky groans. “You’re worse than Steve. You sound like a dying Victorian.”
Thor just groans, face-planting onto a pillow.
“Someone just put me out of my misery.”
“Or don’t,” Bucky says. “What’s stopping you?”
“The fact that if he doesn’t like me it’ll be awkward for the rest of eternity?”
Sam snorts.
“If I didn’t know Bucky, you’d be the stupidest person I know.”
“Hey!”
The family discussion about the vacation goes well, and Tony keeps giving Bruce pointed looks, and Thor is enduring the most uncomfortable gaze from Natasha he’s ever suffered from.
They both cannot take this for long.
It’s awkward, honestly. They’re both in the lobby of their floor, and Bruce can’t meet his eyes and Thor isn’t quite sure how to go about it.
“Would you like to get coffee with me?” Thor asks.
“Sure,” Bruce says. “You want Timely or Joe-Fix-It for coffee?”
“...Timely, I heard they introduced a new flavor.”
“Alright.”
They both relax a little bit into the car ride, and by the time they’re at the coffee shop, both are laughing about a text that Loki sent about one “hypothetical” situation.
It’s easy, and it’s...nice. Thor wants this, and so does Bruce.
“I have something to ask you,” Thor says, looking into his coffee before gazing at Bruce. “And you can say no if you’d like.”
“Go easy on me today,” Bruce says softly, and Thor doesn’t miss how his hands clench around his coffee cup.
“I, um. I have feelings for you. The kind that make your heart speed up.”
“Anxious thoughts?”
Thor barks out a laugh at that, and scratches the back of his neck.
“I am...this whole thing is ad libitum.”
“What does that even mean.”
“Without preparation.” They sit for a moment, Thor collecting his words.
“Bruce?”
“Yes?”
“Do you...do you remember when Natasha was on her period romance drama kick, and we watched Sense and Sensibility?”
“Um, yeah? Why?”
“Do you. Do you remember at the end? The quote about the heart?”
“No?”
“Shit.”
-
It was going to be romantic. Thor was assuming that Bruce remembered the quote about the heart and the always, because it was honestly a cheesy but good movie, and Thor was going to pretend like he knew the quote too so that it would make for a romantic confession.
“Let me, ah...” he fumbles to get his phone out. “I was hoping you would have remembered the quote.”
“And you don’t know it?”
“No, unfortunately. I fell asleep.”
“So did I!” Bruce laughs. “I think we both fell asleep that night. What are you doing now?”
“I’m...looking up the quote. I’m quite sure it applies to our current situation.”
“You sound so proper,” Bruce teases, and Thor slides the phone across the table, showing a truly shitty edit of the quote done in pink, loopy cursive.
His face softens, and he turns up to Thor.
“You...really mean that?”
“More than anything. I’ll be yours, if you want.”
“I want.”
Thor laughs, grin wide and big as he gets up and engulfs Bruce in a hug.
“I think I could not get happier.”
Bruce turns red, adjusting his glasses.
“I’m...I’m happy with you,” Bruce says, and by god he looks cute like this, all flustered. “But I think we should head back before we have to sign in at the front desk, right?”
“Of course.”
There’s a pleasant energy in the car after that, and before they exit, Bruce takes Thor’s hand.
“Yes?”
"Do you think they’ll be surprised?”
“Considering that they’ve been dropping hints for weeks for both of us? I’m expecting Steve and Tony to gloat for weeks over winning over Natasha.”
“You’re sure they won over Nat?”
Bruce grins guiltily. “Nat invited me to her sleepover with Pepper and Sharon. I learned things.”
Thor laughs, getting out of the car.
“Then I look forward to their reactions.”
Not much actually changed, honestly. They were already so close, although Thor is prone to random forehead kisses and bragging about his boyfriend in every single class, to the point where one teacher had to limit his stories about Bruce to two a week, so he had to make them count.
Bruce enjoys kissing Thor a lot, and always enjoys when Natasha makes a little “aw” noise or when he has a date planned.
It’s nice. And he likes it a lot.

Red Pt 1 - Tsukishima Kei
Tumblr media
AU: Soulmate - Red String of Fate
Revamp
Tags/Warning: FEM! Reader, a little angsty...so...take what you will from that, revamp (previously requested)
Word Count: 3k+
Tumblr media
The red string of fate connects people beyond the bonds of friendship and love. It’s destiny.
The red string of fate means having a best friend and love for life.
The red string of fate is unbreakable.
Tumblr media
Before
For as long as you could remember, happiness had filled your life.
You and Tsukishima were lucky enough to have found each other at a young age. The red string burst to life when you walked into the same classroom as him during kindergarten. The bright red light had filled the room and then shrunk until a thin line formed and tightly coiled around your left ring finger, connecting you and a blond boy with glasses.
Everyone was shocked. Most people didn’t meet their soulmate until much later in life.
Since then the two of you had been inseparable, best friends for life. And, hopefully, you wished, something more in the future. All the signs pointed to that.
The sun had already set and the streets were dark. You were lying on the floor of Tsukishima’s bedroom. You glared over at his back that was hunched over his desk. Homework had piled up on him. Both volleyball and being a third-year had taken a toll.
However, that didn’t stop you from going over to his house and eating his food. That added to the list of many things that you loved about him. Another one would be Tsukishima let you do almost anything in the world and wouldn’t care. He was always on your side of the argument and you were on his. You could kill a person and he would help you hide the body, no questions asked.
But the one thing he didn’t stand for was the disturbance of his dinosaur collection (one that you practically put together).
“Almost done?” you asked.
You sat up and stretched out your arms. Standing up, you made your way towards him. You placed both of your hands on his shoulders and rested your chin on his head, closing your eyes.
He hummed in response but his eyes never left the math problem in front of him.
“Do you need help?”
“No, I don’t need your help. I’m just tired,” he said lamely.
“You say that, but the faster you get it done the sooner you get to sleep. There’s nothing wrong to want help.”
His head whipped towards you. Dark circles hung from under his eyes. He wasn’t sleeping well and you knew it, but he waved you off when you gave him suggestions. Trying to help Tsukishima when he didn’t want it was like convincing a lizard that it’s a rock, pointless. But you always tried.
“Go away.”
You laughed nervously, but backed away from him, giving him space. You walked over to your bag and went through it. Your school bag has always been a mess. Maybe sorting it now would keep your mind busy while you waited for Tsukishima to finish. “I think I left my pencil at school.”
Tsukishima spun around on his chair and glared at you. He never looked at you like that before. The glare that he reserved for strangers that wanted something from him.
“Go find it then. I didn’t ask you to be here.”
You opened your mouth to say something, but nothing came out. Words that usually came so easily to you, died in your throat. You quickly packed up your stuff and threw your bag over your shoulder. “Fine.”
You turned to leave and saw the regret slowly grow on his face.
Tsukishima sighed and stood up. “Wait. (Y/N)—”
You closed the door behind you.
Tumblr media
“Damn it!” Tsukishima shouted. He could hear the sound of the door closing echo in his brain.
He choked back a cough. Something felt wrong.
Anger flooded through him. Why was he feeling his way? What was happening? He ran his fingers through his hair and clenched tightly onto the strands, pulling at it slightly. The two of you had fought before and this one wasn’t even the worst. But it didn’t feel right this time.
The dinosaurs that (Y/N) had gotten him mocked him. They looked at him with fake eyes and plastered smiles.
He opened his closet door, stormed to his bed, and grabbed the first stuffed dinosaur he could find. (Y/N) had given them to him as a joke for his fifteenth birthday, but he really looked forward to each new one.
But now?
He was satisfied with the thump sound he heard when he threw it into his closet. It felt almost therapeutic when he slammed the closet door shut and locked it.
Tsukishima’s breath was heavy. All the satisfaction suddenly left him like ice melting in the sun.
Sleep did not reach him that night. He just stared at the plain white sheets that covered his bed wishing that someone was still with him.
Tumblr media
Sleep didn’t find you either. He’d never spoken to you like that and whenever you closed your eyes all you could see was the look on Tsukishima’s face and the sound of spite in his voice. You felt a strong tug in your stomach when you thought about it.
But when your heavy eyelids did shut, you dreamt of nothing.
When you woke up, something felt off.
The morning light hit your eyes the same way, but the world seemed different. You raised your hand to your face to see the string, a habit you couldn’t shake, not even in anger. As always, the red string was there, tied to your finger, trailing off a meter in front of you and faded out. You never knew how far it could stretch, but you always knew that Tsukishima was on the other end.
You sat up quickly when a shock crawled up your arm.
The once vibrant red of the string was gone and replaced with a dull one.
Tumblr media
The next day at school was worse. The light and happy atmosphere around the two of you changed. It seemed as if the entire school noticed. You could hear the whispered conversations and hushed tones when you walked into school alone and even more when Tsukishima switched desks with Yamaguchi for the day to avoid you.
That one hurt the most.
Every spare moment you got, you worked up every last bit of courage you could find within yourself and tried to talk to him. It was only a fight. Everybody fought. You weren’t going to let it get in the way. You and Tsukishima were soulmates. You were forever. Though, it seemed as if Tsukishima had worked up every last bit of himself into avoiding you. If he saw you coming, he’d turn in the opposite direction.
The pit in your stomach only grew throughout the day. You’ve never gone a day without speaking to him. Up until now, you haven’t noticed how much of your life included him, especially at school. You never made many friends inside of school because all you ever knew was life with Tsukishima by your side.
The last time you tried that day was during lunch. You walked up to the usual spot, under the trees in the field, but Tsukishima wasn’t alone. It looked like he invited the entire volleyball team to sit with him. He sat beside Yamaguchi who said something to make him smile.
You looked down at your hand and flexed your fingers. You were close enough to each other that you could see the end of the string and where it looped around Tsukishima’s finger instead of fading because of distance. But you never felt further away from him. Maybe if you tugged on it he would notice you.
Trembling, your hand dropped to your side and you walked away.
For the first time, in a long time, you ate lunch alone.
Tumblr media
After
You paced on the pouch of Tsukishima’s house.
The silent treatment and avoidance had lasted the entire week and you were sick of it.
This was total bullshit.
Every day you tried to talk to him and every day you got nothing in return.
Your hand hovered in front of the door, ready to knock some sense into him. Then the little whispers in your brain told you to give it a little time and your hand fell. You frowned and raised your hand again. He had enough time to act like a child.
The door opened before you had a chance to knock. Tsukishima towered over you and didn’t meet your eyes. His clothes were a little dishevelled and his hair stuck out at odd ends. At least you weren’t the only one having a hard time.
“Did you need something?” he asked. Tsukishima sounded tired. Was he still not sleeping well?
“How did you know I was out here?” you said.
He tsked and looked down, taking a sudden interest in his slippers. “I had a feeling.”
You bit your lip and looked up to the porch light, trying to will your tears to not fall. Great, you thought, barely a word out and I already feel like shit. “Wow. You can’t even look at me?”
“Did you need something, (Y/N)?” he repeated.
“Why are you avoiding me?” you snapped.
“I’m not avoiding you.”
You scoffed and rolled your eyes. “Well, we both know that’s a lie. Does lying come easily to you now, too? Does it join the categories of avoidance and jackassery? It definitely doesn’t fall in the same place as being a good soulmate—or even a good friend.”
He flinched. And you felt yourself flinching too.
“I don’t know what you want me to say,” he whispered.
“I don’t care what you say!” It was louder than what you meant it to be, but you didn’t have it in you to stop. “At least talk to me, say something, anything. Did something happen? Did you do something? Did I do something? Give me a reason. Something. We are fated to be together. You’re going to have to talk to me eventually.”
“Do—” he started, and then bit his tongue back as if he didn’t want to say it. “Don’t you ever feel like this was forced?”
You took a step back. “What?”
He let out a breath and rubbed his eyes. “I’ve been thinking about it a lot since our fight. We only became friends because of this” — he held up his hand and tugged at the string—  “doesn’t it seem forced to you?  Like someone took your choice away? One you didn’t even know you had?”
Took something away? You choked back a cry. This string had only given things to you.
“Are you saying that you don't want me as your soulmate? That I’m something that you're stuck with?”
He didn’t answer.
“What’s happening?” you sputtered, running your hands up to your hair. “I don’t understand. This is the way the universe works. This is how things are meant to be.”
He paused and raised his head. He stared at you steadily, nothing in his eyes. “Sometimes even fate and destiny isn’t meant to be (Y/N).”
You stared at him. How could he be so indifferent about this? There were stories about people begging and crying about never finding their soulmate. How could he throw it away?
Turning your back, you carried yourself high as you walked away. He didn’t deserve you. He didn’t deserve your friendship. He didn’t deserve to see your tears fall.
As you turned a corner, you felt a strong snap and bent over as pain shattered through your body.
Your hand burned.
The string around your finger, the one that shaped your entire life, turned white as the red light slowly died. The world turned and your vision blurred. You barely saw it as the string fell away from your finger like it was never there.
Gone forever.
Tumblr media
The red string of fate broke, and nobody wants things that are broken.
However, fate finds its way, even in places where it’s not wanted.
Red is love. Red is anger. Red is to never be seen again.
Tumblr media
Then
An empty ache ran through you.
Nothing was tying you to the world anymore. It felt like a punch to the stomach that would last forever and only get worse. You stood in shock, your eyes wide open. Tsukishima appeared from around the corner, stilling once he saw you. He stared at you with the same look; he felt it too. You quickly looked down at your left hand, and for the first time, you saw nothing.
The red loop around your finger was gone.
You looked back at Tsukishima in horror. Your mouth opened and closed not knowing what to say. You could feel yourself trembling.
“(Y/N),” Tsukishima said softly.
You didn’t respond. Shaking your head, you slowly backed away from him. “How could you?”
He closed his eyes. He hated seeing you cry but never has he seen you cry because of him. He told you that he felt like crying whenever he saw you crying. Was that a part of being a soulmate? Would he still feel the same way now?
Tumblr media
Tsukishima couldn’t answer any of her questions. How could he explain what he felt when he didn’t even know it himself?
Sometimes things just fall apart without any rhythm or reason.
“I don’t understand. I don’t understand.” Her voice was quiet, barely above a whisper. It was the first time he heard her so hollow. (Y/N)’s watery eyes met his. Don’t cry. Please, don’t cry. “Why aren’t you saying anything?”
“(Y/N)—”
“It’s not supposed to break,” she whispered. (Y/N)’s voice became distant and far away, she was talking to herself. Her fingers traced the base of the finger that once held the string as if her mind and body had to convince itself that the string wasn’t there anymore. He felt himself do the same. The air he breathed was cold and dry as if it would never be spring again, stuck in an eternal winter. “No one ever said anything about it breaking, or that it could break. It’s supposed to last forever.”
“I didn’t mean too—”
(Y/N)’s eyes turned hard. “Are you happy now?”
Happy? How could he be happy?
“I mean, you must hate me so much for this to happen,” she continued.
“Stop,” he said. Tsukishima reached out for her. He could barely feel her skin touch his fingers before she pulled away, flinching back as if his touch was acid.
(Y/N) bit her lip. “Stay away from me.”
Tsukishima couldn’t move. He watched as (Y/N) ran across the street in the direction of her house. Once she faded from view, he numbly found his way back to his house and sat on the steps leading up to the porch. He moved to rub his eyes, and his hand came back wet.
Tumblr media
All you wanted to do was go home. You counted down the minutes to the final bell. You hated the way people looked at you—and at Tsukishima. Even though you didn’t tell anyone what happened, and you were sure he didn’t either, everyone seemed to know.
You kept your head down as you walked home.
You noticed it this morning. Your mom had bought you some roses earlier that week and they were colourless— a monotone grey. At first, you thought that it must have been a trick of the light or morning dizziness, but the colour never came back.
On your way to school, stop signs were monotone, the red light in the street light didn’t turn, things you didn’t even notice, flowers, cars, every colour was different.
Red was gone from your sight.
Tumblr media
The bus couldn’t come faster. School wasn’t doing you any good, so you ditched last period and decided to take the long way home by walking. But soon your legs grew tired and stopped at the next bus stop you saw. You only knew the times of the buses after school, so you were standing at the bus stop for a while now.
You turned your head quickly as you noticed Tsukishima coming down the street with the bus nowhere in sight. You straightened your back and kept your head forward pretending that you didn’t see him. You were at a concert, the beach, or in outer space — anywhere but here.
Someone tapped your shoulder.
You closed your eyes and waited for the sound of the bus.
“(Y/N)?”
You said nothing.
“(Y/N)...Please. I want to talk to you.”
You gritted your teeth. “If I tell you to go away, will you?”
Tsukishima sighed and pressed your shoulder lightly, which made you turn to face him. There was redness around his eye. “If you talk to me, then, yes, I will.”
You finally met his eyes and gave him a blank face. Lately, that’s all you could muster when you faced anyone. You were too tired to be sad and nothing made you happy enough to smile. You raised your eyebrows in expectation, not trusting your voice to ask him what he wanted.
He was silent for a minute, like the courageous Tsukishima took a wrong turn on his way to talk to you.
“Are you...Are you okay?”
Your hand curled into a fist.
“Am I okay.” You frowned. “You don’t get it, do you?”
Tsukishima frowned.
Your throat tightened and eyes watered. But you refused to cry. “It was not just your life, Tsukishima. It was mine too. I can’t stand here and listen to whatever you want to say because — it’s you and I know that whatever you say will make me forgive you. And I think I deserve better than that.”
You heard the bus pull up and took the bus pass out of your pocket. You stepped onto the bus and turned back one last time. Tsukishima stood in front of you, his mouth opened slightly as if he wanted to say something.
“You already made your decision the moment you made mine,” you said, “so you either live with it, or don’t. And if you don't know, then talk to someone who cares, but that person isn't me, not anymore.”
Tumblr media
Now
The sparks of happiness never last long. Nothing could fully fulfill the void of not having a soulmate. Everything seemed a bit darker without red and you grew a resentment to red roses.
But, the sparks of happiness did last longer the moment your daughter was born and every moment after that.
You were lucky. You found someone who made you smile, though they did to lose their soulmate to illness. You didn’t tell them what happened to you for a long while after you met, and when you did, you did it over the course of a week, giving them tiny pieces here and there.
Sometimes you thought it would be easier to say your soulmate died too because in a way he did. But you never felt comfortable to say it. It felt wrong.
Today was your daughter's first day of school and it was already not going well.
Your daughter clung to your leg as you tried to walk away. “I don’t want to go! I want to go home!”
You sighed and gave her a hug. She held onto you tighter. “Hey, you’re going to have an amazing time. I met some of the best people here. You’re going to make great friends and meet fantastic teachers. Do you really want to miss out on all of those things?”
Your daughter nodded. “Yes, let’s go home.”
You closed your eyes and looked past her shoulder. A tall boy with blond hair sat on the carpet waiting for the other students to arrive. A dark pair of glasses sat on the bridge of his nose.
He looked like someone you used to know.
“Why don’t you talk to that boy over there?”
Your daughter looked over her shoulder and saw the boy. She walked over to the boy and began to talk to him. He looked up and smiled.
A red burst of light shined through the room.
Tumblr media
So! Hello everyone. I am not dead and still (kind of) writing. University is HARD and has so much work accompanying it. I’ve been editing this for like 2? 3? Months since school started, doing tiny pieces here and there when I just wanted to write to de-stress but didn’t want to come up with anything new :)
This is a revamp of a oneshot that I wrote in our first book and it follows the same storyline , but I basically rewrote it into the way I write now and added stuff. There might be some new stuff too. Oh! And there may or may not be a part two for this...cause originally there were 4 fours and these are the first two. The third one was written out of request and the fourth part Bacon wrote. If any of you want it, it could be something I edit/rewrite later, but those parts weren’t originally a part of the idea.
Sorry to anyone who requested one-shots that I’m writing and have not gone out yet...or have been written. Hopefully during the break I’ll get a lot of them done and they could be posted during our usual every other week or just when they're done.
Thank you for reading - Kiwi

Business of Art | Literary Submissions 101
Tumblr media
Top tips for getting your work seen by editors and publishers.
When it comes to getting your work published, writing is only half of the job. Submitting your work to publications is also a big part of being a writer, and it requires some strategizing. Not sure where to begin? We compiled a series of tips from previous NYFA Current articles, plus updated best practices, and some very helpful advice from former #ArtistHotline guest chat participants Elisa Gabbert and Lincoln Michel. So take a deep breath, gather your courage, and take note of the tips below before starting to submit your work!
Step 1 - Doing the Research
It might sound obvious, but we will say it one more time for the people in the back: you must read and familiarize yourself with the publications you’re considering sending your work to. What kind of work do they typically publish? Do any of their published works stand out to you? Who is their audience? When do they usually have open calls?
If you’re not sure how to begin this research, a good place to start is by following the steps of your main inspirations. Where have they published before? Have they written about their process anywhere? Do they talk about it in interviews? Interact with them on social media, but don’t expect them to take you by the hand and answer all of your questions, especially if unsolicited. Every now and then writers will feel like engaging on Instagram or Twitter, either creating threads or soliciting questions. Take advantage of these moments, but don’t be invasive. You can also follow hashtags like #pubtip and #querytip, used by writers, agents, and editors to share snippets of advice for aspiring writers. Another great way to understand where your heroes currently are and how they got there, is by reading the “Thank Yous” and “Acknowledgments” in their publications.
Step 2 - Getting Organized
Step number one means you’ll collect a lot of information, which can quickly become unparsable. Before that happens, we suggest preparing a spreadsheet where you can organize all the publications you believe are a good match. Here’s a sample spreadsheet with some basic information you should have on hand for tracking your submissions. You might have to submit several times before getting a yes (and that’s totally normal), so make sure to track your “yes” and “no” responses and feedback received (if any) for future applications.
Feeling overwhelmed? Prioritize your submissions. What is your dream venue? If it’s a super-selective place, they’ll probably require a more extensive publication history. Focus on building this history first, perhaps applying to smaller names in the industry, and then aiming for the powerhouses. The most important thing here is to make sure this process doesn’t compromise your writing time. Here are a few tips on how to balance your time between submitting work and making it.
Step 3 - Selecting Materials
Your “favorite-ever-thing-you-have-ever-written” is probably great, but it still might not be the best fit for a particular open call. When choosing what materials to send out, ask yourself the following question: does this work fit seamlessly with the other stories, essays, or poems this platform typically publishes? Choose objectively.
Along with your writing, open calls may ask for other supporting materials. The main one, and arguably, the most feared, is the cover letter. According to Lincoln Michel, writers don’t need to worry so much about them, focusing on keeping them short, direct, and simple. It's still important to know who you’re writing to, though. Show you did your research by matching the style of the publishing venue, Elisa Gabbert advises. CVs, references, and bios are other common files requested. Learn how to prepare them with these older, but golden tips from BinderCon. In terms of design, err on the side of cleanliness. Stick to the basics unless formatting is a big part of your text (for example, if you’re writing concrete poetry).
Last but not least, follow the guidelines! Remember, one very important thing must happen before an editor even gets to read your submission: you must make it out of the slush pile. Due to competitiveness or likely lack of time on the side of jurors, you might receive a rejection simply because you did not follow simple rules like sticking to the word count or labeling your files correctly.
Step 4 - Dealing with the Nos
Rejection is normal and does not necessarily mean your work is not good enough. Maybe your manuscript got lost in the slush pile—it happens to the best of us—or maybe it was not a good fit for the platform at that particular moment.
Use rejections as a teachable moment. Ask for feedback if possible, but don’t be offended if editors are not able to answer. If you do get a response, don’t feel pressured to internalize all critiques or to revamp your work completely. Know your writing and your value as a writer so you can process useful commentary and disregard the rest. Follow the advice of Gabbert and develop a network of trusted peers (folks in the industry, friends) that can be your beta-readers and be ready to accept and learn from honest criticism.

Dark web Sites
Recollecting the 1970s, "darknet" was obviously not a premonition term: it essentially construed networks that were disengaged from the norm of ARPANET for security purposes. Regardless, as ARPANET changed into the web and some time later ate up basically the wide degree of different PC networks out there, the word came to see zones that were associated with the web regardless not actually of it, difficult to find if you didn't have a guide.
The recommended dark web, a catch-all articulation covering the bits of the web not coordinated through web records, is the stuff of dreadful legend. Regardless, as most legends, the truth is really more common. Saying this doesn't suggest that that astonishing stuff isn't open on dark web websites, regardless a hint of the mumbled alarming stories you might've heard don't make up an enormous bit of the trades there.

We watched out for some security virtuosos who offered to give us truly a guided visit through the web's lower zones. Preferably it will demystify things a piece.
Here are ten things you most likely will not consider the dark web.
New dark web sites spring up reliably...
A 2015 white paper from threat information firm Recorded Future dismantles the linkages between the Web you know and the darknet. The manners in which all around beginning on sites like Pastebin, from the start expected as a reasonable spot to move long code tests or other substance however at this point consistently where interfaces with the dark Tor network are saved a couple of days or hours for contributed people.
While searching for dark web sites isn't just likely as essential as using Google—the truth is to be genuinely secretive, considering—there are ways to deal with oversee find what's there. The screen get under was given by Radware security expert Daniel Smith, and he says it's the inevitable result of "revamp substance that go out there and find new URLs, new onions, constantly, and a short period of time later show them. It resembles Geocities, yet 2018"— a vibe that is helped along by pages with names like "My Deepweb Site," which you can see on the screen get.
new onions

...additionally, many are totally authentic
Matt Wilson, chief information security oversee at BTB Security, says that "there is a delightful/fragile side to the dark web that would no doubt stun a colossal number individuals. You can exchange some cooking plans—with video!— send email, or read a book. People use the dark web for these liberal things for a strategy of reasons: an impression of neighborhood, a basic parcel from insight or following of web propensities, or just to achieve something in a substitute way."

It legitimizes recalling that what blossoms with darknet is material that has been denied elsewhere on the web. For example, in 2015, in the wake of the Chinese government halting any silliness about VPN relationship through the predefined "mind blowing firewall," Chinese-language discussions finished jumping up on the darknet — for the most part flooding with people who fundamentally expected to visit with each other in arrangement.
Radware's Smith raises that there are a get-together of media sources on the dark web, going from the news website from the hacking pack Anonymous to the New York Times, showed up in the screen arrive, all obliging people in countries that control the open web.

A few spaces are by welcome in a manner of speaking
Clearly, not everything is so impeccable, or you wouldn't try to research this article. Regardless, "you can't just firing up your Tor program and arrangements 10,000 Mastercard records, or passwords to your neighbor's webcam," says Mukul Kumar, CISO and VP of Cyber Practice at Cavirin. "By far most of the demanded 'fragile' data is essentially available to those that have been checked or welcome to communicate social gatherings."
How could you secure a greeting into such dark web sites? "They should see history of horrible lead," says Radware's Smith. "Essentially doubtlessly a mafia trust test. They need you to show that you're not a readied capable and you're not law fundamental. Essentially, a tremendous stack of those tests will be something that a subject expert or law support legally can't do."
There is horrible stuff, and crackdowns prescribes it's harder to trust
In actuality as a year back, various dark web business networks for drugs and hacking affiliations included corporate-level customer help and customer reviews, making investigating less awkward however rather more secure for youngsters. Regardless, since law execution has begun to make a move against such sites, the experience is more wrecked and more unsafe.
"The whole viewed as this darknet business focus, where you have an associate review, where people can overview quiets that they're buying from carriers and get up on a conversation and say, 'In reality, this is genuine' or 'No, this truly hurt me'— that has been lessened since dark business places have been taken separated," says Radware's Smith. "You're seeing aloof carriers open up their own shops, which are essentially hard to vet yourself over the long haul. There will not be any assessments, there's not a huge stack of escrow affiliations. Additionally, thus, by these takedowns, they've really started up a business opportunity for additional stunts to jump up."
Reviews can not be correct, things sold under movements—and a ton is on the line
There are still sites where drugs are investigated, says Radware's Smith, yet recollect that they should be taken with a colossal grain of salt. A reporter may get a high from something they bought on the web, yet not handle what the cure was that given it.
One clarification such blunders are made? Distinctive dark web drug makers will in like manner purchase pill presses and shadings, which retail a few hundred dollars and can make hazardous clone drugs. "One of the later alerts that I could recommend would be Red Devil Xanax," he said. "These were sold as some super Xanax bars, as a last resort, they were essentially shocking prescriptions expected to hurt you."
The dark web gives markdown things to extraordinary neighborhood retailers...
Smith says that some customary medicine cartels use the dark web networks for dispersing—"it takes out the middle individual and licenses the cartels to send from their own stockrooms and course it if they need to"— yet unassuming heads can in like way give the individual touch at the close by level coming to fruition to buying drug planned substances markdown from China or elsewhere from sites like the one in the screen arrive. "You know how there are stores of neighborhood IPA microbreweries?" he says. "We in like manner have an enormous pile of close by scaled down labs. In every city, there's reasonable in any occasion one juvenile that is gotten sharp and perceives how to design drugs on the darknet, and make an unassuming proportion of remedies to offer to his close by association."
xanax
Daniel Smith
...who use the gig economy
Smith portrays how the darknet gets together with the unregulated and scattered universe of the gig economy to help stream stash. "We should expect I need to have something purchased from the darknet dispatched to me," he says. "I'm not going uncover my affirmed zone, isn't that so? I would have something along those lines dispatched to an AirBnB—a region that can be disposed of, a burner. The case gives off an impression of being the day they rent it, by then they put the thing in a Uber and send it to another area. It ends up being amazingly hard for law need to follow, especially in the event that you're going across different districts."
Not everything is available to be bought on the dark web
We've contributed a tremendous stack of energy breaking down medications here which is as it ought to be. Smith calls sedatives "the confirmed establishment" of the dark web; "cybercrime—selling endeavors and lacks, web application attacks—that is the mechanized establishment. Generally, I'd say a greater piece of the darknet is in all honesty drugs and kids examining little infringement on gatherings."
A part of the really terrifying sounding stuff you find a few solutions concerning being accessible to be bought routinely winds up being all around gossipy treats. Take weapons, for instance: as Smith puts it, "it would be less flighty for a criminal to purchase a gun, considering, versus the web. Going to the darknet is adding an extra improvement that isn't basic all the while. Absolutely when you're directing certified punks, they will remember someone that is selling a weapon."
Unequivocal strengths are in
Regardless, there are some obvious darknet solid point propels out there, whether or not they don't have the very impression that sedatives does. One that Smith made me notice was the universe of skimmers, contraptions that fit into the openings of guaranteed credit and ATM card perusers and get your record data.
Besides, giving another outline of how the darknet marries genuine articles open to be bought with data accessible to be bought, relative sites comp

[Alright guys, the changes have come! Here’s what you can expect;]
General updates!
URL name change! seerxtaiko >> splittingxpaths
Rewritten my rules page; not much has changed, but it’s more clear and organized. Included a new rule that duplicates of Frieza and Paragus are more than welcome to interact with my own.
Created a new muse page; each character has a short summary I’ve written so that you know what to expect. Besides Taiko, Frieza and Paragus, I’ve also added summaries of Shami (the parasite from the previous ‘arc’ I was/am writing for fun) and Orachi (ex-friend of Taiko from Namek).
Written a page for THREE main verses that can be picked!
A.Seer’s.Life; a verse without Frieza or Paragus in Taiko’s life. Frieza and Paragus are available, but Frieza is unaware of Paragus surviving, nor knows about Taiko and their existence. Paragus lives in the northern cold region of Earth, unaware of his son’s survival. Shami is taken in by Taiko after coming to see the kind of host he had.
Starting.Over; a verse where Taiko found Paragus, who had become gravely ill at some point. Nursed back to health, the old Saiyan would stay because he feels indebted to Taiko, despite his protests of being helped. Shami in this verse has never returned to see what kind of host he had, wandering out in the wilderness and learning to survive.
Forced.Recruitment; essentially the Frieza Force AU where Taiko was found a year or so after Broly’s fight with Vegeta and Goku. Taken by some goons in hopes that Frieza could use the Namekian to find the dragon balls when the radar had been lost, Frieza instead finds another use of Taiko and their seering powers. This verse is outside of Earth, Taiko pressed into service so as to serve Frieza with their ability to see the multiple futures. Shami in this verse has never returned to see what kind of host he had, but could be found and trained to fight.
Created a brand new set of tags to use; will no longer use the old ones.
Found and edited a new theme for the blog; created a background for the said theme to better fit the theme of mystic/tarot that I associate Taiko with.
In the process of creating banners/headers for separate muses for answering asks. Is lower priority.
Will be creating a relationship page and will be listed as Ships [UC]; have not started yet. Please let me know if you’d like to be included!
Making icons for Frieza; will be mainly from the movies “Resurrection ‘F’” and “Broly” at current. Frieza’s icons has been finished!!
Creating a new promo post to introduce the revamped blog. This also includes a newly made artwork to reflect this blog as best I can. Might take awhile. Higher priority!
Muse updates!
Rewritten summary of Taiko; removed the old bio page, as well as other unnecessary pages.
Added Frieza; during the Super timeline, generally a year after the Tournament of Power & “Dragon Ball Super: Broly”.
Added Paragus; post-movie “Dragon Ball Super: Broly”, headcanoned to have survived the death beam by mere inches from his heart.
Added Shami; a parasite that had been feeding on Taiko’s energy ever since it drained most of Seer Kika’s own ki.
Added Orachi; ex-childhood friend from Namek. During the Frieza saga/invasion on Namek, had fled in fear when he and Taiko were caught, rendering their friendship damaged and broken. Has since then trained harder than ever, trying to be the warrior he should have been, still wrecked with guilt.
Thread updates!
Will be dropping most threads; had too many pile up during the time where I ask for a thread but then depression or the likes would make me lose motivation. I will look through the group of threads I have waiting on me and pick through them. If I drop a thread, I’ll attempt to make a post and tag you about it.
Any interactions before Shami the parasite finally revealed himself can continue on as normal without Shami’s presence being known. We can continue developing our muses’ interactions until we reach a point that this can occur.

How To Write A Resume That Gets You An Interview
Tumblr media
A pretty format and creative word choice will only take your resume so far.
With the average job receiving 250 applicants, building a standout resume matters, especially if you have some rocky patches to explain, like job gaps or career shifts.
In my time as a career coach, I have been sent hundreds of resumes that are in dire need of help. Like so many people, a recent client, Sarah, came to me struggling to find a new job after having been laid off a few months prior. She sat down already feeling defeated, “I just don't know how to get myself into another role...who would want to hire someone who has job gaps and was laid off?”
Everyone has a story for their career setbacks and I wanted to understand hers. Sure, Sarah’s job history was a little spotty, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t a hard working and dedicated employee. Turns out, her layoff story was telling: after the company laid of 70% of their staff, she was one of the last they let go. Why? Because she was an incredible, hardworking hire. This meant helping her craft a resume that stands out in the pile, and even more importantly, an elevator pitch so that she’s memorable to the interviewer.
Here are three ways to make your resume showcase your strengths and help you stand out.
1. Focus less on what you've done and more on what you want to highlight.
Your resume is all about showing where you’ve been as it relates to where you’re headed. This means taking the thread of your past and relating it to your future. Sure, you can list out your past jobs and roles, but cater your resume to highlight skills and job experiences that relate to where you’re going even more so than where you’ve been. This is especially important if you are looking to make a career transition into a field you might not have direct experience in.
Look at the job you are applying for and focus on the responsibilities it lists that you have experience in, whether direct or indirect. Don’t leave off the skill section of the resume, you can really capitalize on this to outline what skills your current position requires that translate into the new role.
Under each job, focus primarily on the responsibilities that relate to your past, and apply also to the job announcement--ideally tasks you want to do more of. Be sure that your first bullet under each job is always your best bullet. This means it’s high impact, quantitative and results driven.
2. Don’t neglect the power of soft skills.
The value of soft skills is on the rise in the job market. By 2020, it is estimated that skills such as problem-solving and communication will increase the perceived value of employers by over one third. Why? Because robots are taking over the workforce. But they cannot compete fully with a human being in their soft skills.
Use your resume language as a means to describe a soft skill the hiring manager is looking for. You can use facts or stats from your job history to show, not tell, what your communication and management skills have done. Weave together your soft skills of customer service, collaboration or public speaking into the outcome these skills have formed.
3. Showcase your achievements.
Roles are often either task oriented or results oriented. Resist the desire to simply outline the day to day tasks completed in your job history. When I reviewed Sarah's resume further, she had only included a bulleted list of job duties performed each day (project management, product research and market testing). Although it is great to showcase what you can do, hiring managers are looking to see what the results you provided the company. That means getting out of tasks and into results.
Don’t be shy with quantifying your results to the best of your ability.
In fact, Sarah’s work for the company resulted in saving $1M in revenue. This should’ve been a major highlight on her resume as it showcased her ability to complete tasks and make a positive impact.
Sarah did some major revamping considering these tips and was able to get in the door for multiple interviews. She used her resume as a talking tool within the interview and was able to illustrate what she could bring to the team to lock down not one, but two job offers.
If you are on the job market or considering a new opportunity, review your resume to be sure it is a positive representation of you. Don’t let this single piece of paper make or break your next career move!

Version 434
youtube
windows
zip
exe
macOS
app
linux
tar.gz
I had a great three weeks working on long overdue network updates. Most of the changes this week restore old account management UI for server admins, but there are a couple of fixes and improvements for regular users as well.
The network version goes up to 20 today. Clients and servers can only talk to each other if they are on the same version, so if you want to talk to the PTR, you will want to update at some point. No rush, but if you try to talk to the server on an older client, you will get a polite error message.
regular user stuff
On review services, you can now pause repository account sync, update downloading, and update processing separately. If you don't want to process right now but still want the client to be grabbing update files for later, or you want to pause all service network traffice for a while but still process your backlog, it should now be easy to set up.
I fixed an annoying bug where going from 'random' file sort to one with asc/desc sort order by loading a favourite search would always default the asc/desc to the top value. Guess what hydev's default sort is.
Server administrators can now set messages to accounts. If you get a message, your client should get the update within a day or two, at which point it will appear in a popup box and be viewable on review services.
Server administrators can now set some account types to be user-creatable--no need to mess around with registration keys or access keys yourself, the client can fetch them for you from the server. A new button on the manage services edit panel checks this and can do it for you. I understand the PTR is likely to move to this in future for accounts with sibling and parent petition permissions, since grouping these by account will be useful for janny petition workflow. Having separate accounts for these complicated uploads will also allow better account management (including the above rudimentary messaging) for users who make common errors with sibling or parent submissions.
I believe I fixed a bug in repository processing that caused some newer users to get stuck with siblings and other data that was later deleted. This should not happen again, and I am now planning ways to efficiently fix the problem retroactively. (If you were hit by this and want the non-efficient fix, hit 'reset processing->reprocess content' for the repo under review services).
Some users recently got some scary errors about an invalid repository update file. This was the result of the client becoming confused about which update files it should have for a repository. I am still investigating why this happened, but to fix the immediate issue I have added a maintenance routine (under the new review services->reset downloading) that triggers a full resync of update metadata and delete surplus records. This function will fire automatically in future if the service encounters borked update files of any kind. If you got these errors, please try firing it and let me know how you get on.
admin improvements
After a very long delay, account management is finally back. If you have permission to modify accounts, the 'modify an account' service admin menu item works again and launches a fully revamped window. You can also launch account modification from manage tags for a particular tag selection, the thumbnail right-click for file repository files, or the petition processing page.
The new window shows better data about accounts, and lets you zoom in on individual ones to see current account type, expiration, banned status, or message. It also shows if you are editing yourself!
The account modifications are: change account type, set/extend/clear account expiration, ban, unban, and the new 'set message'. All modifications now print janny and subject account key to the server log. I removed the old 'superban' (which deleted all that user's content contributions), but it will likely return in future.
The service admin menu also has a new 'review all accounts' entry that lets you see a simple summary list of all accounts, which you can then select for modification.
The manage account types dialog now lets you set up auto-account creation. It works a bit like subscriptions, with a 'account creation velocity' limit of 'x accounts per y time delta', like '10 per day'. This defaults to off obviously, but if you set some account types to auto-create, users will be able to see that in manage services.
future admin improvements
As always, there was much more I wanted to do than could get done. I wasn't able to finish improving petition processing workflow or add custom update duration, a serverside tag filter, or a server message, but I was able to get the important network stuff done I needed for these things. Since incrementing the network version is always such an obstacle, I am confident I will now be able to work on these things in normal weekly work. Please let me know how they work out for you as I roll them out.
full list
network updates:
the hydrus network version is now 20. update your clients if you want to keep syncing with the PTR! no rush, but if you try to talk to a new server on an older client, or _vice versa_, you will get a polite error message
most of the updates this week are for server administrators and jannies. I have reactivated old functions that were broken long ago and added some new features. the rest is mostly code cleanup and refactoring, improved error handling, preparation for the future, and other unexciting (but still important) work that had piled up
.
clientside network/repo stuff for regular users:
repositories now have separate pause/play for account sync, update download, and update processing. the confusing old 'working' button is replaced with separate pause/play bitmap buttons
admins can now attach a message to individual accounts. if you get a message attached, you will see it as a popup message, and on review services, after the next account sync (within a couple of days)
a hydrus server may now allow automatic account creation. a button to check for creatable account types and then create a new account is added to 'manage services'. the PTR is likely to move to this sort of system for upload siblings/parents permissions, where getting away from my shared blob mega-account will make it easier to group petitions in the janitor workflow
a logical bug in repository update processing order is fixed. I believe this was the source of some bad siblings for new users who did a lot of syncing in one go. there is no efficient re-processing fix available atm (you'll want 'reprocess content' atm), but I plan to split processing into more pause/play for mappings/siblings/parents, which should add more 'reprocessing' tools
I cleaned a bunch of the UI code related to networking--in manage services and elsewhere, so there should be fewer bugs, confusion, and UI lag when using these controls. a whole load is still a mess though!
fixed the 'see special permissions' button in review services
repositories have a new maintenance function, accessed through the new 'reset downloading' button on review services, that force-resyncs all update hashes. this _should_ fix the unusual issue a handful of users had with an extra (invalid/404ing) update hash on the PTR. this function will also auto-trigger on various error states. the reason some users had an extra update hash in storage is still under investigation
.
other stuff, mostly boring:
fixed an issue with the new file sort asc/desc button where a transition from 'random' to another sort type using a favourite search would always reset the sort order to the top value
my asynchronous job object now has a default errback to catch errors more gracefully by default and with special handling in future. clicking an async button in a dialog will now show you the error there and then, rather than just the hidden error popup on the main window
added convenience links to the latest build on github to the help menu and html help
fixed another place in local file importing where a file that did not pass file import options checks would set 'skipped' status. in now sets 'ignored' like everything else
fixed a bug when an 'undelete' call is sent to the media viewer when no media is set (usually during startup/shutdown)
I disabled progress gauge 'pulsing' across the program. the way this was first implemented applied too often--I will bring it back to only apply when a job is both indeterminate and currently working
my custom button class can now launch its own yes/no confirmation dialogs on click
removed a subtag regen routine in the 425->426 update step that was bugging out due to bitrot--it now makes a popup message on boot asking for the routine to be run manually
fixed a typo bug in the 'subscription snapshot' debug command
misc ancient python 2-to-3 code cleanup
updaned cloudscraper to 1.2.58
.
admin stuff:
.
account modification:
after a very very long delay, account modification is back. if you have permission to manage accounts, you can directly modify accounts using an account key from the services->admin menu, or for tag repositories you can do it from 'manage tags' from the cog menu on a selection of tags, or for file repositories you can do it from the file right-click menu on an uploaded file, or any petition processing page if you have modify accounts permission
the available account modification routines are: change account type, set/extend/clear expiration, ban, unban, set message (new!)
the modification routines now print summaries to the server log when they fire, including janny and subject account key
the server admin menu now lets you see a list of all the accounts on the service, and also launch the new modification window from it for a selection of accounts
the account modification window is also no longer a dialog, but a normal panel that lets you interact with the rest of the program while open
the modify UI is now completely async. it loads account information in the background, and all server modification commands and subsequent account refreshing are the same
the modify UI now lists separate row summaries, including account type and banned info, for all the accounts it is loaded with. accounts can be checked to apply actions only to a subset. you can also copy the checked account keys
the modify UI also highlights if you are one of the accounts being modified, kek
the modify UI now shows ban, expiration, and message info, and the 'account info' dict (which is still not great, but can be extended in future), for any listed account when it is clicked
I have dropped 'superban' (which deleted all the account's previous content contributions along with the ban) for now. it'll likely return in one form or another in a future account permissions overhaul
fixed some dedupe and de-surplus bugs in the 'modify accounts' logic
fixed some account ban status presentation logic
the UI code has been cleaned up generally
retired the old 'get an account's info' admin menu item, since modify accounts dialog now fetches this better
hydrus accounts now synchronise twice as fast, every 250,000 seconds
.
account types:
account types now support optional automatic account creation, default off. it works like a subscription file velocity--'x new accounts per y time delta'.
modifying account types now prints summaries, with janny account key, to the log
account types now use a newer data serialisation format. the way they are tracked behind the scenes is neater
.
petitions:
I did not have time to do the petition overhaul. however, I have prepared the network for it, and I have a plan, so I hope to be able in the coming weeks to improve fetch time for petition counts, make a summary list of all petitions, and implement background petition fetching to improve turnaround time
the petition UI now has a button to copy the petitioner's account key (e.g if the janny wants to send it to an admin with account modification permission)
.
service options:
hydrus services now have a separate 'options' object that is synced to all clients alongside account sync. this will be expandable in future without network version hassle
the options object now contains stub values for 'server message', 'update period', and 'tag filter'. these values are not yet editable, but I will add them and plug them in in the coming weeks
.
boring network/repo update stuff:
services now print to log when they host on a port. this applies to the server and the client (for client api and local booru)
the repository update routine is now careful to process updates in index order--previously they were unintentionally processed in pseudorandom order, meaning if the processing backlog was long enough, certain add/delete updates of bad content could occur in reverse order. I believe this was the source of some odd persistent bad siblings some users saw after doing a lot of first-time 'catch-up' processing when first syncing with the client
the server tracks account_type_keys and account_type_ids in a more careful, service-specific way. all access and modification of account type is cleaned up
the AccountType object is graduated to the new serialisation format. the server db stores them in a new table and will convert all legacy objects on update
deleted the double-ancient YAML AccountType
critical network errors during repository download are now handled a little cleaner and trigger a metadata full resync
the server is better about exiting cleanly--last-minute repository metadata changes and very recent session keys are saved
wrote a new account account type change routine for the server. it prints a summary, including janny account key, to the log
wrote a new account expiration set/extend modification routines for the server. they prints a summary, including janny account key, to the log
wrote a new ban routine for the server. it prints a summary, including janny account key, to the log
wrote a new unban routine for the server. it prints a summary, including janny account key, to the log
wrote a message-set routine for the server. it prints a summary, including janny account key, to the log
restored and expanded old server db tests for service creation, account initialisation, account type addition and deletion, registration key/access key/account generation, basic mappings addition, account identification by mapping content, and account modifications: account type, ban, unban, set expires, set message
fleshed out and fixed old server unit tests
refactored a bunch of server and network code, including to new 'networking' modules, and added a heap of type hints
refactored all the server-client variable de/serialisation code, and a bunch of network object code
refactored clientside service ui to a new file
refactored client network and service panel gui code to new modules
refactored the client manage services edit panels to their own, less confusing and coupled, classes
refactored the client review services panels to their own, less confusing and coupled, classes
cleaned up the clientside service ui, added and migrated to nicer new async functions for server calls
cleaned a ton of server and network code in general
cleaned up some json/POST variable parsing
cleaned admin service menu code
next week
I will catch up with the regular work I missed over the three weeks. I will also try to get optional update duration done for the server. And lastly, I absolutely want to figure out macOS releases that work on Big Sur, which is another thing I have left for too long. The test github build some users have been working on apparently works, so I just have to integrate their script into my own github build routine and, fingers crossed, we should be good.

We launched Ranked Season 2 on December 19th with an MMR system closer to traditional Ranked ladders. Other major developments:
The Tooth and Tail Official Soundtrack launched on CD and Vinyl (also available digitally directly from Austin Wintory or on Steam
We launched GOG/Steam Crossplay, which is powering development of PS4 to PC crossplay, and hopefully more platforms to come!
We've been featured in four major Steam sales (Winter, Midweek Madness, Lunar New Year, and an IGF nominee sale), a Chrono.gg sale headlined by Total Biscuit, and one major sale on PS4 (Outside is Over-Rated), bolstering our player community. You can bet that there will be more to come!
Campfires, new tiles sets, and a revamped world generation algorithm were added to ranked and unranked play.
Story Mode was completely rebalanced to bring it in line with current multiplayer balance.
ToothAndTailTV, a fan-run channel, casts a massive North America vs Europe tournament, which culminates in a final game matchup of the titans, ChipFromSpace [NA] vs ArbuzBudesh [EU]
What's Next?
With Tooth and Tail starting to enter its "long tail" life cycle, we're taking a broad approach to keeping a healthy player community.
Crossplay We're finally moving towards combining our PS4 and PC communities via crossplay, powered by GOG Galaxy. This means that anytime there is a sale on any platform, the increased player count will benefit all platforms.
Mod Support
(Modded units by Glorious AYY FB)
Our latest patch (1.1.4: Eat Crow) was largely inspired by a balance mod that our player community put together. I hope that our community can continue to help us balance the game, as well as create and test new features, including new units.
In fact, a new Hedgehog unit is currently being developed and tested by community members. All of Tooth and Tail's assets are in human readable XML files and PNGs, so adding new stuff or modifying existing units is accessible to everyone.
Community Tournaments and Games via our Discord Channel
We have possibly the most tricked out Discord channel in gaming, due to the efforts of our community, lead by community manager, Brian Franco (mastastealth). The short list of Discord features:
Pocketbot (a Discord bot to help the community learn about the game and keep the server in order)
Automated weekly PB Cup tournaments
Support for player-run tournaments
ReplayUltima (replay analyzer)
In development is Pocket World, another Discord integrated tool that will allow players to fight for the four in-game factions simply by playing the game. Players will take and lose territory for their team as they play.
New Platforms
Still nothing to announce, but yes, we're investigating new platforms for Tooth and Tail. Stay tuned.
New Feature -- Standard Seeds in Story Mode
The Story Mode balance still needs quite a bit of work, and I'm determined to make the campaign be something that garners universal praise -- it's very close, but with a few things that can just ruin the experience for some people. So I plan to rebalance things again, and offer the ability to play each map on a "standard" -- and fair -- seed. I hope to add leaderboards to the standard seeds as well.
Balance
You all know that I pay a lot of attention to the game's balance and I like to tweak it. Sometimes for the better, and sometimes for the weird. Expect this to continue.
A short history of the patches and their notable changes:
1.0.2: Howling Nerf -- Single Player Changes, Bug Fixes
1.0.3: Kasha So Sad -- Reduced Landmine range, Kasha nerf, Wolf re-stim removed
1.0.4: Butterbomb -- Campfires, tile sets added to multiplayer, Boar bomb added, boar slow, toads get structure crit, barbed wire redesign, lizard range 1, snakes can't hit structures, owl bomb removed, fox hp mega-nerfed, warren health scales by tier
1.0.5: Chicken Mole -- Flag customization, Editor Preview, Discord Status
1.0.6: Lizard Love -- Tier 3 build time increased, lizard buff, boar no longer slow
1.0.7: 鼹鼠 두더지 MOLE -- Chinese and Korean added, focus fire improvements, lizards range 2, another mole revamp, major chameleon buff
1.0.8: Nibbles and Tweaks -- Starting Farms always adjacent, major boar buff, pigeon AI changes
1.1.0: ('Tis the) Season 2 -- Ladder reset, unit and player stats added, MMR, Map Fairness
1.1.1: GOG Crossplay -- Crossplay, Tier 2 Artillery with scatter shot, Fox rooting, Landmine vision, Tier 3 build time increased, Warren health returned to 50
1.1.2: Snek House -- Snakes can poison structures again, Artillery returned to tier 3
1.1.3: Diamonds are a Lizard's Best Friend -- Single player rebalanced to fit Multiplayer stats, Burrowing to Allied bases, lizards range slightly reduced, MG nerf
1.1.4: Eat Crow -- Swift reduced to 1.75x speed, toad redesigned, boar given semi-agile, artillery range increased to 10
What do you want to see?
So what do you want to see out of Tooth and Tail in the months to come? What was your favorite balance patch? What kind of mods would you like to see? Let me know in the comments!

Changing the Lane in Career
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to swap your spreadsheets for saucepans? Or daydreamed about leaving your desk job to become a dog walker? Or wished your business card read “Pilates instructor” instead of “a Public relations officer?” If you’ve seriously contemplated a career switch, you’re not alone: According to a survey conducted about five years back, 80 percent of workers in their twenties and 64 percent of workers in their thirties want to change fields.
Tumblr media
No matter the reason you’re unsatisfied with your current career-are it boredom or burnout or something else entirely-you don’t have to stay the course. Despite what you may think, it’s totally possible to switch paths no matter how many years you’ve already been in the workforce. With some savvy strategizing and expectation management, you can have that dream job. Here’s how, you can effectively switch the lane.
Want to change career lanes-or even make a professional U-turn? Keep reading for tips to make it happen.
Changing Career Paths is Possible
1. Figure out why you’re craving a Change
First things first: Do a little soul-searching and ask yourself, “why now?” Find out what’s actually driving your decision to switch careers. “Is it the boss? Is it the toxic environment? Is it the commute? Maybe you’ve been at the same company for years. If you did the same job at a different company that’s more innovative, it could re-spark the professional drive you lost. Sometimes you don’t necessarily have to switch your career.” If after you’ve done a thorough career consult with yourself you’re still determined to ditch the dead-end job, you have the green light to go ahead and seek super-new beginnings.
2. Find the Path of Least Resistance
As you think about how to rebrand yourself, it’s key to identify points of connection. For instance, if you’re a lawyer who wants to jump into journalism, the obvious (and probably easiest) transition would be to find a job as a legal journalist.
To change your discipline and also change your industry at the same time, it’s not necessarily setting yourself up for failure, but it’s so many more mountains to overcome. Find the path of least resistance so you can convince whoever is listening to you—whether it’s a recruiter or a hiring manager—that the job [change] is not actually as drastic as it may sound.
3. Start Making Connections
Networking, networking, networking. You’ve probably heard it a thousand times before. But it’s doubly important when you’re switching career fields. Think about it: After you’ve been in a particular career for 5 or 10 years, your contacts will be brimming with mentors, colleagues, and acquaintances willing to vouch for you professionally. When you switch lanes, however, those same people may not have the insight or clout to be of much help. So how do you go about finding new allies?
Ask good questions. Just say, ‘I’m in a career transition. I’m really interested in and passionate about this new field, but I want to ask you a few questions. Most people are willing to talk about themselves. Absorb as many bits of information as you can and make as many connections and you can. Do that 10 to 20 times, and eventually you’re going to find someone who’s going to be your mentor or who’s going to want to keep in in touch with you. That person can be the point of contact between you and this new industry.
4. Get Experience through Volunteering
It’s the unfortunate catch-22 of job hunting: You can’t get a job without experience, but you can’t get experience without a job. That’s where volunteering comes in. Many nonprofits are in dire need of help, and you’re in dire need of testing the new-to-you career waters.
Maybe take the first project unpaid, and that first client you can use as a testimonial to get your second [paying] client. Then you’re considered a paid professional in that field. And voilà, you have a new bullet point at the top of your résumé for your recent, relevant consulting gig.
Front-load your résumé with transferable skills, like analysis or communication or leadership that are vital in any job or industry.
Another tip for revamping your resume? Front-loading it with transferable skills—things like analysis or communication or leadership that are vital in any job or industry. Small tweaks like this can take you from the slush pile to the top of the heap.
5. Give Yourself Time
Don’t expect to land your dream job overnight. In fact, you can expect to wait 6 to 12 months before clocking in after a complete career overhaul. Furthermore, prepare to make some financial investment in your future; conference fees, networking events, and other job-hunting expenses can all add up.
In light of this, if at all possible, to not quit your current job while hunting for a new one. (“If you’ve been miserable at your current job for the last five years what’s another six months?”) But if you just can’t stand it any longer, make sure you at least have an emergency fund in place—most financial planners recommend a minimum of six months’ worth of expenses.
6. Manage your Expectations
That senior-level title? You may have to kiss it goodbye since your previous experience may not translate in the context of your switch. And a title change may bring about a salary cut, too—so be prepared.
You don’t have the 10 years of experience in this new field, and you’re just starting out. Is a salary cut a worthy investment if five or 10 years from today you’re going to be in a career that you’re proud of and enjoy? Use your answer to this question as an indicator of how confident you can be in your decision to seek a new professional beginning.

In the ever-evolving technological world, the production of electronic devices is increasing rapidly. Electronic devices utilize around 10-15% of the energy consumed in homes in the United States. Furthermore, these devices generated about 45 million tones of electronic waste every year. Studies have shown that these numbers would increase to almost more than 52 million tones in nearly two years and keep growing each passing year until a plan for waste management is established. By redefining the three R’s for waste management, Apple announced its Apple refurbished store.
Refurbish, Repurpose, & Redesign are the redefined the three Rs of electronic waste management. Sustainable IT standards need to be implemented to save our world from toxins and hazardous waste. Therefore, the refurbished industry has been given significant importance. Besides being pocket-friendly, these Apple refurbished iPhones are environment-friendly too.  The longer turns a blind eye towards the e-waste issue, the more dangerous it will become in the future. Let’s discuss further how we can minimize the E-waste:
Discovering The Impact Of Human E-Waste
The world’s 90% of electronic waste is traded and dumped every year, which is, in return, polluting the air and water bodies. Many companies regularly throw this e-waste, the same as regular trash. Other companies that claim to recycle the waste are just taking the garbage and dumping it in areas with lax rules and regulations. Piles of waste end up in dumpsters in small towns and villages. Almost 80% of the waste is shipped to the world’s poorest places, making the towners sick, poisoning their land and water.
Although it is possible to extract the essential elements from electronic waste such as copper, gold, and other metals, it is quite expensive. Most countries don’t even have the infrastructure for doing it, and the rest don’t pay enough attention to waste management. Recycling the proliferated e-waste is the only way to curb the growth of it.
Recycling Can Solve Half of The Problems
Let’s be straightforward in this matter. Recycling waste has been helping the environment since the inception of technology. If the world hadn’t emphasized recycling in the past decade, our world would be an environment full of toxins and hazardous air. Electronic waste is toxic to our environment. According to a study by waste management, e-waste makes upto 2% of the trash in landfills but constitutes more than 70% of the toxic waste. This shows how harmful electronic waste is for us and the environment. Every day, we turn to electronic devices and dump even more, responsible for the toxic sludge.
With minimal supervision and fear of polluting the environment, more than 85% of the electronic waste is put into landfills or incinerators. These practices are releasing pollutants and toxins into the environment or leach into the land. It is imperative that every industrial business practice recycling to avoid this proliferation of electronic waste before it becomes an unavoidable problem. Apart from the recycling, repurposing these electronic devices for reuse can also help. Many manufacturing industries have turned to the refurbishment of faulty products instead of dumping them. This practice will help reduce electronic waste to half. Let’s discuss further.
Buy Refurbished, Used, Products
Before Apple started selling refurbished electronics, many other phone manufacturers were already practicing the same. However, the customers were not much relying on refurbished products at first. After that, when Apple refurbished iPhones were seen in the refurbished section of Apple’s online stores, people started to consider them. Now, the refurbished industry is expanding at 7.3% CAFR every year.
Besides, organizations need to understand that we are not necessarily required to switch to the latest technology gadgets as soon as they hit the market. The requirement of the same is essential to channelize our needs. Many people think recycling and refurbishment are the same things, that is not true. They are completely different from one another. Under recycling, the materials are extracted from the waste and reused afterward. The old products in working conditions with few deformities are revamped to new products in the latter term.
The biggest advantage of refurbishing e-waste over recycling is that the products work like a new one without compromising the product’s quality. Customers won’t even realize the difference between new and refurbished products. For promoting more refurbish practices, recycling companies should buy the used electronics back and repurpose them to optimal working conditions before. These repurposed products are then traded under refurbished labels.

Restaurant Industry Revamps: Cloud Kitchens To Sprout Up In Massive Numbers
Tumblr media
Bad to worse – That’s the right way to qualify the state of restaurants across the world, especially India and the Asian market. Even before COVID-19 happened, technological advancements, coupled with customer trends, have led to restaurant dine-ins’ downfall. With many customers preferring deliveries over dine-ins, restaurants underwent a rough patch for the past few years. They managed to stay afloat, supplementing their sales by achieving a swaying balance between dine-ins and takeaways.
However, COVID-19 appears to be the final nail in the coffin. It’s been nearly four months since dine-ins are ruled out, citing higher chances of virus contractions. A piling expense list and a dried-up demand – what’s more dreadful for a restaurant owner?
It’s time to think past dine-ins. Is there an efficient way to run restaurants and boost profits? With modern technology by your side, never take no for an answer. The rise of cloud kitchens is inevitable.
Are you an entrepreneur aspiring to launch an UberEats clone? Well, here’s your trump card to success. By the end of this blog, you’ll know how cloud/virtual kitchens can help your platform scale in popularity and revenue.
The delivery-only model
Let’s accept it. There’s been a massive crowd in the on-demand food delivery market. With as many as thousands of apps launched every month, the competition has always been intense. The majority of entrepreneurs prefer the aggregator or marketplace model, housing and displaying top-rated restaurants in their platform. While this model yielded fruitful results in the past, restaurants are reluctant to give up a fixed percentage of their income on every order. The delivery-only model can be the ideal way out.
In this model, restaurants are available only via the online medium, mostly a particular platform. Customers place orders via the app. The cloud kitchen receives food orders instantly and processes it. The platform assigns delivery executives to pick-up the orders. This model proves to be a win-win-win situation for the entire stakeholder community. Customers needn’t wait longer due to peak hours in restaurants, cloud kitchens can manage orders seamlessly, and the platform owner gains enhanced reputation and income.
A restaurant owner’s perspective: Why cloud kitchen?
For a traditional sit-down restaurant, dine-ins are probably the only major source of income. When looking at the expense sources, a 50-seater restaurant space costs a colossal deal of money anywhere across the world. Add to that the staff salary and raw material expenses, and a  bulk-load of maintenance costs on the top of the pile as well. These expenses push the break-even sales even further, making it even more challenging for restaurants. With COVID-19 eliminating dine-ins, restaurants need to look for alternative ways to reach out to customers. Building a restaurant-specific app is expensive while signing up with third-party platforms paves the way for reduced profits.
Having an internet-enabled restaurant kitchen is profitable in every aspect you name it. For example, you can conserve 75-80% of the space with no dine-in facility, directly reducing your cost. You don’t need staff to serve customers. As an added advantage, the market trends are favoring the growth of virtual kitchens. According to Statista, the market for cloud kitchen/delivery-only restaurants to consumers forecasts a CAGR of 12% until 2024. This double-digit CAGR, fueled with the restaurants’ need to conserve expenses, leads to the massive rise of cloud kitchens soon.
It’s the rise of food deliveries: Carpe Diem!
Many entrepreneurs come up with brilliant ideas. Some make a hefty fortune with it, while others dump the opportunity of becoming successful. Your idea needn’t be an out-of-the-world invention. An entrepreneur’s golden rule of success is simple – innovate and reach out to the right audience at the right time. As mentioned earlier, innovating your UberEats clone with cloud kitchens can come in handy. People need to satisfy their taste buds, but they cannot access restaurants. You CANNOT have a better time to launch your food delivery app than NOW.
The on-demand app industry is booming ever since the outbreak situation. People fearing to step out are using on-demand apps for services. On-demand delivery apps have become the talk of the town. Food and grocery delivery startups are emerging at a rapid rate. At the end of the day, it all comes down to taking calculated risks. Of course, there’s an intense competition out there. But, on the positive note, the demand and growth have been on a high ever since. It’s up to entrepreneurs to seize the day or leave a golden ticket to success turn to dirt and dust.
Customers propel revolutions: Evolve with it
Take any industry or a sector; businesses that tend to align with customer trends survive, sustain, and succeed. Customer expectations have forever been dynamic when it comes to food delivery services. Initially, calling restaurants over the phone and placing orders was cool. But with phones adding the ‘smart’ element to them, people found it tiresome to call restaurants. On-demand apps rose to the occasion and paved the way for seamless food ordering. Transacting and paying via cash for food orders were replaced with swift digital modes. Customers get to track delivery executives in real-time. Besides, they get to voice their opinions to the community in the form of ratings and reviews.
With due credits to the COVID-19 pandemic, the on-demand food delivery market is witnessing a massive rise in its customer base. Customers get to enjoy their favorite food from desired restaurants in the comfort of their homes. A satisfied customer lays the foundation for a food delivery empire. Gaining customer trustworthiness depends on the hands of an efficient entrepreneur who rolls out a robust UberEats clone.
What can BRILLMINDZ do for you?

How to Organize and Revamp a Study Space
Tumblr media
Plan and visualize how you want your study space to look like
This is a really important step in doing a make-over of your entire study area because it will help guide you on what you have to organize or change to accommodate your new plan. Even if it’s just moving some things around or completely rearranging your space, you should always have a gameplan in mind as a goal if that makes sense. You can’t sail a vessel without a heading for your destination! Right?!
Decide whether you want to do some simple organizing or a total overhaul
This is also another important mental decision you have to make because it affects what you are going to change and how much willpower you will require in this whole process.
Take EVERYTHING Down (if possible)
This is mostly optional, but I just find it easier to clear out my study space if I have a clean and fresh slate. Move all your belongings if you can from your desk, shelves, drawers, etc. to another open space (e.g. another table, the floor, bed). This in turn will provide you an “open floor plan” to work with, meaning that you can rearrange and put things back according to your new plan.  But, before putting things back and rearranging go through all your items and get rid of unnecessary junk by putting things in storage or just simply throw it away. I would also recommend sorting similar items into piles. This might make it easier to rearrange!
Designate different areas for different things (according to your plan)
This is another tip that can make the process easier than it needs to be! I’d recommend placing sticky notes around your space or making a mental “list” in your head so that you know where everything will go, etc. It will also give your space some kind of logical plan of how everythings is setup and organized.
Vacuum and/or Disinfect (or wipe down)
If you can, vacuum to get rid of debris and dust and use a safe and mild form of disinfection to kill germs and other gross things because a revamped study space also needs to be clean as well! It’s a lot of work, but trust me the extra effort will be worth it in the end.
Use ALL available space you have
This is a no brainer, but use all the space you have! Instead of stuffing everything on your desk, use available drawers and shelves! It helps to reduce clutter on your desk in the first place, while taking advantage of your resources! Beforehand, clean out drawers and shelves so that you can put new and more relevant items as junk tends to get pilled up in these areas.
Play music (if you like music)
I’m sure I’m not the only one, but playing your favorite tunes will just make this tedious “chore” just a tad bit more happy. Anyway, you’re are going to have a clean and tidy new space afterwards!
Maximize your available room
Try not to stuff things into corners of your area! It will just waste space and make all your belongings cluttered! Instead, take the time to put things away carefully in an organized fashion, and take advantage of your space!
Get more bins and other storage saving mediums (optional)
I know that this will kill the bank, so please don’t force yourself to get the “fancy” containers that you see all over the community! This is TOTALLY OPTIONAL! I, myself find these to save and organize your space as it lets you group things together, and they just end of taking less space most of the time (I don’t know how they do it lol)! So if you have the resources, try this out!
If you have any tips that you would like to add, please send me a message here! I may do an updated version in the future if I feel that I have more tips to add! Thanks for reading and stay tuned for my next advice post! Good luck with cleaning and organizing your study space for max productivity! I have faith in you!
