Danny is an ao3 writer

Hear me out!

Y'know how there's a running joke that ao3 authors/writers will put in the author's notes that they're sorry that they took so long to update and their reason is because of either they got into a horrible accident/ life threatening health issue/serious personal issues/ their life went up in flames figuratively or literally, or somehow a combination of all of those scenarios. And they're all like "Well enjoy the chapter! tee-hee!" and everybody who's reading it all collectively go "are you okay?!" (aka the ao3 writers curse)

So I want to take this, and add Danny

Danny begins taking a liking to the classic literature that Mr. Lancer talks about during class and decides to writes a fanfic about it along those lines. It all starts for when he writes a Pride and Prejudice fic where Charlotte gets a better life where she's both happy and comfortable. And when he gets pretty supportive comments about it. He starts writing fics for other books as well (and it never stops)

During that time, who else but the Jane Austen fan, Jason Todd reads this fic. Yes he reads fanfic (do not ask him about his ao3 history), he yearns for more Jane Austen, but unfortunately she's not exactly able to write more books for him to read. So he turns to ao3 where there are some people who have incredible talent for writing pretty good regency era romance.

So what happens when he finds a couple of Pride and Prejudice stories written by " HalfDeadHalfAliveWriter

And when reading through the stories and looking at the author's notes.

All with very weird scenarios happening to the writer that he can't be sure that if it's a joke or if it's an actual thing he should be very worried about.

Author's notes such as:

Sorry it took so long for me to update this I was being shot at by my parents and ended up getting a burn on my hand and couldn't use my computer for awhile.

Sorry the chapter's so short, all the people in my town are being possessed by a hoard of angry ghosts because somebody had a bright idea to steal an artifact that belongs to an ancient civilization. So I had to get this out quick before they ruin my wifi connection

Sorry I haven't updated in awhile, I had to fight off a crazy guy that is obsessed with killing my father so he could marry my mother and become my new stepfather.

Sorry for the wait I got sent back to Ancient Egypt by my mentor to hunt down a runaway ghost that was messing with time.

But honestly the most recent author's note on a fic that hadn't been updated in week is what makes Jason really worried.

Sorry for not updating for a couple months guys, I was taken by a government agency that started vivisecting and torturing me. Thankfully my sister and friends busted me out and now I'm working on healing up. Anyway here's the Great Gatsby fic where Nick and Gatsby kiss.

After reading that author's note, Jason just sits there thinking only one thing.

20 Anime You Should Watch

I’ve been getting into anime again recently, and thought I’d share some that I like! These are in no particular order. I gave very short, simplistic descriptions of each show, but I recommend looking them up for full summaries to get a better idea of what they’re about.

1) Cells at Work! (2 seasons, 22 episodes) [Comedy]

Anthropomorphic cells living in a human’s body. Focuses on a red blood cell that frequently encounters a white blood cell during dangerous bodily infestations and illnesses.

2) Kaichou wa Maid-sama! (1 season, 26 episodes) [Comedy, Romance]

Focuses on the female school president of a previously all-male school who directs and rules over them harshly. She secretly works at a maid café, which is discovered by a popular male classmate of hers.

3) Ouran High School Host Club (1 season, 26 episodes) [Comedy, Romance]

Student Haruhi Fujioka stumbles upon a host club in the prestigious Ouran Academy. After accidentally breaking an expensive vase, she must work for the club to pay off her debt.

4) Lost Song (1 season, 12 episodes) [Music, Fantasy]

Rin is a girl from a small village who dreams of singing in the capital city. Her singing has the power to heal any wound. Rin and her brother, Al, journey to the capital when their home is attacked by soldiers hoping to capture Rin. Finis, who also has a magical voice, performs for the royal palace. She falls in love with a soldier named Henry and must hide their relationship from the prince. She and Rin have intersecting destinies and both struggle with the terrible circumstances that life throws at them.

5) Clannad (2 seasons, 47 episodes) [Drama, Romance, Supernatural]

Delinquent Tomoya meets ill Nagisa and they become friends. Along with four other girls, Tomoya decides to help Nagisa revive the school’s drama club. He finds himself helping each girl with their respective problems and learns that life may not be as dull as he once thought.

6) Fruits Basket (3 seasons, 64 episodes) [Drama, Romance, Supernatural]

Homeless Tohru Honda moves in with members of the mysterious Soma family. When she accidentally learns of the family’s curse of them turning into animals when embraced by a member of the opposite sex, she resolves to help them figure out how to lift the curse.

7) Kamisama Hajimemashita (2 seasons, 25 episodes) [Comedy, Fantasy, Romance]

Offered a home by a man being attacked by a dog, Nanami is surprised to find a seemingly abandoned shrine. When she tried to leave, she is confronted by the spirits of the shrine. Tomoe, the fox spirit, leaves angrily when he realizes it is not the land god, Mikage, who has entered their home and that he instead sent a human girl as replacement. Refusing to remain homeless, Nanami decided to serve the shrine and ends up forming a sealed contract with Tomoe when she kisses him.

8) Princess Jellyfish (1 season, 11 episodes) [Comedy, Slice-of-life]

Tsukimi is an introvert with a love for jellyfish living with other socially isolated women in Tokyo. One day, she meets someone beautiful who looks like a princess and helps her save a jellyfish from a local pet store. The beautiful princess is revealed to actually be a crossdressing man named Kuranosuke. Despite their aversion to men and socializing in general, Kuranosuke resolves to help the women become more confident in themselves.

9) Soul Eater (1 season, 51 episodes) [Action, Comedy, Fantasy]

Follows three sets of meisters and their weapons as they fight demons and witches to obtain the status of Death Scythes. They attend a school founded by Lord Death and learn the best ways to recognize and defeat these evil entities.

10) Yuri on Ice (1 season, 12 episodes) [Sports, Romance]

Figure skater Yuri meets champion skater Victor, who claims he is going to be Yuri’s new mentor. Yuri accepts and goes on a difficult journey of training in the world of competitive ice skating.

11) BNA: Brand New Animal (1 season, 12 episodes) [Action, Fantasy, Comedy]

Michiru, after becoming a newly formed beastman, travels to Anima City, a safe haven for people like her. After witnessing an explosion during a celebration, she is confronted by detective Shirou Ogami. They team up to pursue the criminals involved with the explosion and discover why Michiru has suddenly started to turn into a Tanuki after being human all her life.

12) Japan Sinks: 2020 (1 season, 10 episodes) [Drama, Sci-fi]

Ayumu and family’s life is turned upside down when an earthquake strikes and obliterates Japan’s structural integrity. The Mutou family must find a way to survive and get out of the country before the entirety of Japan sinks into the ocean.

13) Toradora (1 season, 25 episodes) [Drama, Romance]

Gentle yet fierce-looking Ryuji forms an unlikely friendship with sharp-tongued and violent Taiga. They try to help one another confess to their crushes while growing closer along the way.

14) A3! (2 seasons, 24 episodes) [Drama, Slice-of-life, Comedy]

Izumi confronts the loan sharks who are after money from her father’s run-down theater. She plans to bring the theater back into the spotlight and pay of the debt with the help from an all-male acting troupe.

15) Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun (1 season, 12 episodes) [Comedy, Romance]

Chiyo has a crush on her schoolmate, Nozaki, and confesses to him, but he mistakes her as a fan of his manga and gives her an autograph. Saying she wants to be with him, Nozaki invites her to help him with his drawings. Chiyo hopes that by helping Nozaki, he will eventually take notice of her romantic feelings for him.

16) Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku (1 season, 11 episodes) [Romance, Comedy]

Narumi and Hirotaka knew each other when they were younger and end up working in the same office. They decide to start dating, but find that their respective interests make it difficult to create romantic situations.

17) K-On! (2 seasons, 39 episodes, 1 film) [Comedy, Slice-of-life]

Five high school students become friends and bandmates as they form the next generation of their school’s Light Music Club.

18) Violet Evergarden (1 season, 13 episodes, 2 films) [Fantasy, Drama]

Amidst working for a ghostwriting agency, past soldier Violet Evergarden learns to reconnect with her feelings while trying to understand the final words her commander left her with.

19) Given (1 season, 11 episodes, 1 film) [Drama, Romance]

Prepared to give up music for good, Ritsuka changes his mind after meeting Mafuyu. He gives Mafuyu guitar lessons in the hopes of making the other boy the lead singer for his band.

20) Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (1 season, 13 episodes, 1 film) [Drama, Romance, Supernatural]

Sakuta suffers from puberty-syndrome and sees a bunny girl that is invisible to others. When he meets the girl in real life, he realizes she’s going through her own problems and becomes attached to the bunny girl.

I was wondering if I could get headcanons for a younger(late teens-early twenties) tav who views the companions as more of older siblings/mentors, personally my tav is inspired off the tiefling kids in the emerald Grove because I thought it would be very cool if Mol a street kid became the savior of baldurs gate, absolutely adore your writing thank you so much if you decide to do this!

Sorry it took me so long to get to this, I went on an enexpected hiatus but I am back and have a few lists in the works, so keep an eye out for that!

But yeah, I LOVE this idea??? This is so cute and if you have pictures of your Tav, please share them, I NEED to know what they're like, they sound so cool and I love the idea behind them!

Companions react to: Younger Tav who sees them as an older sibling/mentor!

No spoilers, just some lovely lil headcanons, enjoy♡

Lae'zel - It depends on (your) Tavs dynamic with her. She was taught to follow when there was a leader, and lead when there was none. If Tav is intent on following, she's strict, sharp and a little intimidating, but always looking out for Tav, ordering them to the back of the group and allowing them cool moments in fights too. "Finish them off, teethling" She says proudly. But if Tav takes a leader role, she's happy to follow without question, and will shape everyone else in line with tavs orders, once she trusts their judgement. A kind leader and devoted follower. That's what you get from Lae'zel.

Shadowheart - She could never explain why, but having a kind teifling friend who's quite like this Tav is so...familiar? It's nice in any case. She feels at ease and way off her guard around Tav and is grateful to them for it. Of course she feels bad hiding things, but has gotten pretty good at making sure Tav is distracted and having fun on the adventure. She's always sneaking them snacks, turning a blind eye to any pranks they play on the others and keeping them in arms range at all times. They make her feel young again.

Wyll - He's like a guardian angel sent from above. He's happy to teach, but not above learning from Tav too, seeing them as an equal, even if he's kind of the "big brother." He's perfect for stories, indulging in Tavs silly ideas, good or bad, and the man you want in a crisis. No matter how bad it gets, he's staying calm for Tav, witty even, to keep them distracted or focused. It's hard to not be relaxed around Wyll and it's ever so intentional. If Tav is happy, so is he, and he says as much all the time.

Karlach - A young tiefling troublemaker who's just trying to do their best? She absolutely adores them, seeing her young self in them at every turn. It's healing for her to take care of who is basically her younger self, and she takes a genuine pride in looking out for them. Keeping them safe. Teaching them not to make the same mistakes she did. She'll do anything to keep them safe even at her own detriment.

Gale - Gale always wanted to be a teacher, and seeing how passionate Tav is, he just has to teach them. He sees potential in everything they do and goes out of his way to ensure they harness their abilities to their fullest. He's happy to answer any and all questions, and will look for answers if he doesn't have them. He's never short on praise either, always telling them how proud he is and how wonderful it is to watch them become the person they are.

Astarion - He's the bully older brother you never realised you wanted, probably because you didn't and still don't. He's got a thousand mean nicknames and if Tav slips up, he never let's them forget it. Tav and him will bicker to the end of time, but when all is said and done, if someone so much as grazes Tavs skin- he will drain the life out of them as painful and slow as possible. He might laugh, but only when he knows Tav is actually okay, and if someone else laughs, he'll make them regret it. He'd never say it out loud, but having a sibling he can protect is very nice.

Bonus, the older folks!

Halsin - He immediately takes up the dad role. He's always wanted children of his own, once he finds the right person, but they make him.okay with just doing it alone. Bear rides, whittled trinkets, spell lessons, he's all for it. There's just about nothing Tav could possibly say to make him unhappy to hear from them. He's indulged in everything they say and prideful in everything they do. He gets into the habit of calling them fawn, fledgling, lamb, whatever Tav likes sticks.

Jaheira - She doesn't realise it, but she does go full mother mode, even in front of the Harpers. Tav has messy hair? She's fixing it immediately. She sees elbows on the table, Tav is getting the mom look. Tav has dirt on their face, she's licking her thumb to rub it out. It's so subconscious, but she can't help it. And by God's, if anyone talks ill of Tav to their face, she's ready to throw down. Even if it's just questioning.

Harper: "I don't get it, they're a kid, how are they going to-"

Jaheira: "If I hear one more word out of that idiot mouth, I'm going to sew it shut and have you clear out the barn of all the ox shit, so you have no choice but to smell it"

Minsc - He's just happy to be admired for what he is; a warrior! Lead by a miniature giant space hamster. He won't question most things Tav does, trusting their own kind of warrior style and knowing they're doing everything for righteous reason. He admires them at every turn, even if he has no idea what their deal is or how to explain it to other people. Boo knows. And thats all that matters.

you’ve heard of how horribly these three kids at south park were being treated, you’re heart immediately ached for them

they were all staying at a foster home, yiu’ve decided to adopt them

their clothes were raggedy with a few hole here and there, they had dirt all over their bodies and looks like they haven’t in years

actual hc

when the three went to your house, it was basically luxury than the house that they used to live in. Touching every little thing in your house

even though he’s the oldest out of the three, Kevin had no idea how to bathe himself or brush his teeth, so when teaching him these things, it was basically like mentoring a toddler

it certainly was nice to eat something other than half eaten poptarts and ice, you actually had a shocked face when seeing how skinny all of them were

Kenny would actually like a room with his little sister, he was always terrified that something would happen to Karen and he wouldn’t be there to stop it

Karen would make you play dress up with her, since she could actually get dolls and dresses. Karen definitely uses up all her princess makeup {not that good on actually putting it on}

During dinnertime, it was really hard to get used to, Karen always got scared of being yelled at for saying anything. Honestly, “dinnertime” back at the old house always made Kenny sick in the stomach but was pleasantly confused when it really wasn’t as bad as he thought

all of their moods significantly approved, even looking and smelling better at school. A lot of students were confused on how different they looked

the first month/week was extremely tough, it was pretty hard to get them to fully trust you, it’s not that they’re ungrateful, they’ve just gone through so much that it’s difficult to

When they do, it’s really nice, you get to have one-on-one conversations with you. It’s also nice to see them comfortable in your house rather than stand in the corner, scared

Kenny’s friends talk about the sudden change “is that your new parent?“ “yeah they’re really sweet!“ “thank god we don’t have to smell you anymore“

Kevin really likes racecars and comic books, he never had a chance to become an actual teenager and mostly fished with his dad, which he didn’t really like. So, when you bought him those things as a surprise for his birthday, he was absolutely estatic, jumping up and down

Karen likes getting her hair brushed, ever since she saw tangled, she sang the “healing“ song everytime you brush her hair. Karen also wears her Rapunzel tiara all the time, she likes the way it looks!

It was a little confusing seeung Kennt in a princess costume, but it really doesn’t matter, if he wanted to be a princess then he can {even if it’s for a stupid roleplay} you did his make-up and everything, which was nicely done may I add

In all seriousness, you seriously saved them, they can finally be normal kids and not have to worry if they have to eat the grass to survive tommorrow

Anyway, Jinx random wartime q!hgduo spitball ramblings/ headcanons/ off-the-cuff analysis ig cuz I like thinking about them ^_^

I think they didn't meet at the start of the games but maybe a few months to a year or two in- I'd say either when Cellbit is about 15 or close to being 15.

By that time both Bad and the currently nameless teenager both had some sort of reputation as dangerous, ruthless, and maybe even downright cruel killers on the battlefield. One way or another they ended up becoming partners much to the horror of everyone else.

For Cellbit he'd recognize that sticking by Bad increased his chances of survival by a LOT and this dude doesn't even get mad when he takes bites out of him which is great.

For Bad I feel like he could've gone through the games alone with not much trouble but staying solo gets stale and lonely after while- he'd have teamed up with other players in the past but they all either died or left him eventually- he thinks it's gonna be no different with Cellbit but is pleasantly surprised when he's proven wrong.

And boy was that a good thing, because Bad has a bad habit of getting attached! He fed this stray cat a few times and now it's following after him and Bad doesn't have the heart to shoo the poor beast away!

Although Bad has much more experience and is vastly older he respects how much fighting skill his teenage partner has- he can hold his own on the battlefield- which is why he doesn't view him as his 'child' or a dependent but somewhere in-between an equal and a protege. Cellbit deferred to his leadership during fights, but theirs still a mutual respect between them.

Later on their bond would end up in a sort of vague area in the middle of a triangle between mentor & protege, equals, and something dangerously close to familial.

I find it hard to doubt that there were times when Bad would be shockingly reminded that his partner is in fact still a child... and perhaps times where Cellbit would find himself relying on Bad the ways a child would their parent or older sibling... Maybe at some point letting his funny little friend eat his flesh or spending resources healing him became less about keeping him healthy for the next battle and more about keeping him alive just a little bit longer- Maybe sticking by this powerful ally became less about pragmatism and more about companionship.

That said, as far as Cellbit's concerned he never had a family, as far as Bad's concerned his children are Dapper and Pomme... Cellbit's all grown-up now and so much time has passed that they see one another as something more akin to just 'old friends' who know what the other is capable of and thus know better then to underestimate each other... but I feel as they spend more time with each other again the echoes of the dynamic they once had become more tangible- especially given the major toll of the eggs being missing. Cellbit knows he can turn to Bad if he needs him and Bad will look out for Cellbit when he can even as he is (quite ltierally) falling apart.

Maybe sometimes even now he still can't help but see that nameless kid when he looks at Cellbit.

I honestly don't think Bad regrets the way he guided Cellbit during the war- nor do I believe that Cellbit harbors any resentment over Bad's influence in his life- even if it's left him with the same sort of fucked morals his former guardian has, his terrible self-sacrificial tendencies, and who knows what else. The reality of their situation during the games could never allow for softer forms of kindness- there was no time for them to be a 'family' and no time to think about what happens 'next' after this is all over. Bad couldn't teach Cellbit how to live, but he could teach him how to survive.

I haven't really settled on what I think happened at the end of the 'war' when they part ways... but sometimes I do think about how in the actual video Cellbit dies at the very end and man that can be interpreted in a lot of interesting ways- like obviously in qsmp canon Cellbit survives the war but it's still fun to take that into consideration!

Anyway, you know those images of predator animals with blood covered on their faces after eating a tasty meal- yeah that's them during the hunger games to me LOL

... Also does anyone else find it really funny that Foolish's adopted son and Badboyhalo's protege ended up getting married like- something about that is just really funny to me... Also I'm surprised no one has done anything about how the dude taken in by a totem of undying found love with the guy who was guided by a grim reaper like- I feel like there's some cool potential there!

Ty for reading all of that- or skimming it that's cool too! I just wanna say despite liking q!Bad and q!Cellbit a lot I do NOT consider myself to be super knowledgeable about them as characters, I just have a major soft spot for dynamics like theirs and wanted to ramble LOL so um yeah:

okay well. here's my version of the percico hunger games au:

nico's meant to be part of the careers, being reaped in district one (luxury) when he's sixteen/seventeen - except, well, he didn't actually receive training. bianca had and tried to pass on what she knew but it was clear which child hades was interested in keeping alive (or is it). she died in an accident exactly a week before the reaping. and it was decidedly too late to fix his mistake and teach nico what he'd passed onto bianca. the other careers know this and to be frank, nico's just been abandoned and considered useless by pretty much everyone, mentor included. (the di angelo aren't even from district one. hades and maria met during his victory tour - and the capitol turned a blind eye when he kept visiting district twelve and eventually brought the kids back with him after her death.)

percy's the one to volunteer from district twelve, in his last year being reaped too (eighteen), in place of estelle (12, in her first year being reaped) - and he knows he's doing everything to get home. he has a sister and a mother and paul, the only father he's ever known. percy has something to go back to (in the same way nico doesn't), he has no training but he's strong enough from physical work that it's not impossible and that's what matters (percy would be from district four, conceived from poseidon's own victory tour. except he'd really had no interest in the child, not like hades had).

here's how it starts:

day one: nico, the supposed career, is shunned by his group. percy hears them say it'd be mercy, to send him back to his sister and mother (he doesn't like it. not a bit. percy's an older brother, values his family more than anything. they couldn't have said anything worse than that in his mind) and witnesses the fight that ensues - nico is fast, skilled enough with knives but not nearly on their level. it's the anger that fuels him enough to come out of it bruised but whole (after that, they get even more ruthless). the anger and percy, who's quite eager to put them in their places too (if he breaks one of their arms, will the capitol be able to heal it before they get into the arena? he's more than willing to find out). that's their first real interaction - and nico comes out of it angry at percy for getting involved, asking if he really thought nico was this defenceless. percy's just as mad and yells back that they both are, when everyone thinks they're easy pickings.

day two: day after, nico doesn't apologize but he trains near percy and gives him what little information he has on the other careers and from what bianca taught him. they're not friends, they bicker and pretty much bring out each other's most sarcastic self (and maybe that's the closest thing to friendship they've got so. you know).

day two, evening: training scores - percy gets an 8, incredibly high for someone with this little training but not overly so ("don't become a priority for them"). nico gets the full 11, to percy's concern. when asked how he achieved that score and if he knows that he just put a massive target on his back, nico seems decidedly unbothered.

day three: the interviews. they're both dressed up obviously but they joke (kind of) backstage about missing the cuts and bruises they'd given each other ("oh, you don't have my gift anymore? well that's ungrateful of you."). and here's the moment we've been waiting for: nico is asked about girlfriends and shrugs it off, it moves onto boyfriends. other tributes are mentioned, nico looks uncomfortable and blushes but doesn't reveal anything. at this point the interviewer is convinced it's another tribute, though, and brings it up with every other male in the other districts. it gets to percy who, having been "taught" to keep the public's attention by his mentor, runs with it (the blush is real, it's embarrassing, but he spins his little alliance with nico into a full blown friendship, not revealing anything truly incriminating but giving them hints of what they want). nico's mad, again. percy is also mad at him for reacting with anger - didn't percy just ensure them a better shot at victory? what exactly has him so pissed off?

night before the games start: percy doesn't want to go into the arena mad at his only ally, nico agrees. percy tells him about his family, his reasons to go home - when asked about his own, nico says he has nothing (hades and his stepmother didn't even visit after the reaping). percy is uncomfortable, asks him what he means by that, surely there must be a single reason. nico doesn't answer. percy understands what he's not saying, nico has no intention of going home and he never did. probably got an 11 just to make it easier and got mad when percy ensured them at least a couple sponsors for the same reason. nico leaves, giving him a last goodbye. this is when his safety becomes another priority for percy (mirroring canon percy with his search for nico), if percy himself can't win he wants it to be nico - he'll drag him kicking and screaming to the end if he has to. when the thought of having to kill nico pops up he pushes it down, unwilling to entertain it. no need to be worried about it, just yet (literally going "that's future percy's problem").

stopping here bc i might actually write this and im not giving the whole plot JUST YET (suggest mentors/tributes btw just be aware most of them WILL die, the only ones that are 100% going to live are percico).

Other thing with the time travel AU is that Kevin is just rapturously happy with his pick. Like if there was a man who just craves normalcy it is Kevin Day. This is why he is such a fan of the Trojans and why in canon he gets Jean over there after the Nest.

He gets out of the nest but he immediately aligns himself with the craziest group within the foxes. Yeah he feels safe because Andrew will keep him safe but he’s not the best at making friends (see: every upperclassman) and the group he is with is more for pure survival than anything.

Then after the worst couple months of his LIFE here is a guy who dragged his no name team in AZ up to the state champ level. He isn’t bothered by anything Kevin says or that the other monsters do / say. He is as much of an Exy addict as Kevin is, very talented, and he has drills that feel like someone handcrafted them to rehab his hand / improve on all of the things Kevin considers most important (of course because Neil & Kevin crafted these drills in their late 20s/ early 30s because it irritated both of them that the Raven Drills were still considered the best), and he’s so damn normal.

“What are you studying?” “Oh I’m in finance and accounting. I’m going to get my accounting license and be a CPA when i can’t play Exy anymore.” Amazing, so rational, so normal. He’s gonna be great on TV!

Then the Kathy Ferdinand show happens and Neil sees Riko and part of him just cant help but just see a shitty kid. He was the either the vice captain or captain for the Foxes for years and after he graduated he still came by with Dan and Kevin to mentor. He’s developed a soft spot for kids with rough backgrounds and Riko has a very rough background with how he was raised as a commodity something to earn money for his brother and never good enough for anything else.

And Kevin watches as Neil stops Riko dead by just being genuinely interested in what he does outside of exy.

“I thought Kevin went to Palmetto because our history program was so much better than EAs? That way if you hand didn’t heal you’d have a good fallback if you didn’t want to coach either.”

“You thought I left EA for Palmettos history program????”

“What EA is a liberal arts school! You’re terrible at art. All art. Theres nothing for you there if you cant play Exy? By the way what do you study there Riko? You seem like a pottery guy.”

Riko is so unused to someone being interested in him for anything other than Exy (even Jeremy Knox is all shop when its with Riko) that he kind of forgets why he came on the show. He was actually kind of proud of how his recent vase came out and Neil is actually genuinely interested in the pictures he took.

They leave after an actually relatively nice conversation and its only after Riko catches Neil in the backstage hallway and asks if they could exchange numbers and tries to get Neil on the Ravens that Kevin sees a hint of the monster his brother had become again when Neil turns him down.

Falling in love with Jake Seresin again is far easier than you’d ever expected it to be. It helps that you don’t have to get to actually get to know him again. But you do have to rebuild the trust he has in you. At the beginning, after the first night of your second marriage, as you’ve taken to calling it, you’d walk into a room and Jake would startle and look at you like he couldn’t believe you were still here with him. It had been one of the many ways you and Jake had needed to heal together after seven years apart. You’d cried, you’d laughed, and god, had you fought numerous times over the first months you were back in Pigeon Creek. It wasn’t just your relationship that you’d had to contend with rebuilding after all. You’d had to rebuild your brand after relocating to Alabama. Jake is still building Deep South Glass. Obviously, the Bradshaws hadn’t helped at any step of the way. The wedding that you’d nearly had with Bradley Bradshaw had been the gift that kept on giving. Somebody had given the press present your cell phone number and you’d been getting phone calls from anonymous numbers asking for your statement once the articles about the Mayor of New York calling you a bitch had hit circulation, along with professional video from the videographers Carole had hired.

But you’d stayed with Jake, taking the media storm as the first test for your relationship. It was difficult, especially once the press got a hold of your marriage license from when you were eighteen and then proceeded to mob Deep South Glass fighting for a chance to interview your husband. But the challenge was well worth the effort, especially when you have the chance to tumble into bed with Jake every night. Soon enough, the media forgot, choosing to focus on Bradley’s budding relationship with none other than Callie Bassett, and you fell in love with your quiet life in Pigeon Creek again. It wasn’t too quiet, though, not with Natasha flying down every chance she got. But she doesn’t fly down to Pigeon Creek to see you. Instead she flies down to see you, and also to see more of Bob, which is a relationship you never would have expected. It makes you happy to see your best friends in love with each other. You also adore having Natasha in town as often as she is.

It’s been a year since your disastrous wedding to Bradley Bradshaw fell through. You’ve set up a deal with your old mentor, sending him designs in the mail and are working on creating your second full collection. It makes you happy to be creating in a place where you feel so happy. Deep South Glass has grown a colossal following and Jake has presided over three store openings across the South East. There are even talks about opening a shop and store-room in California. Artisanal Glass-blowers and Glass sculptors across the nation want to become a part of Deep South Glass.

Despite the hype, he still makes lightning sculptures on the beach on stormy nights. You always join him. Of late, though, you curl up with Bryant under a blanket, safe and sound in the cab of the truck. It’s overprotectiveness on Jake’s part, coupled with a hearty dose of fear. One late-term abortion was more than enough for the both of you, so you don’t argue anymore when he pleads with you not to lift things or to stay in the car during his lightning storms. He does allow you to join him in the truck though, because it’s tradition at this point for you both, and because you know he secretly enjoys the thermos of hot chocolate you always pack as well as spare clothes and towels.

You’ve got a towel in your hand when Jake opens the door and lets in a cold draft. Bryant burrows even closer to your belly and you smile sleepily up at Jake from within your warm blanket nest.

“I’m so glad you’re not out in that tonight, Lin.” Jake towels himself off roughly after tugging his shirt off. He splatters you with cold rainwater, and you burrow even more under the warm blanket. His chuckle makes you smile as he pecks your pursed lips and downs a full thermos cup of the hot chocolate you hand him.

“You’re smiling at me now, darling, but it’s cold out there.” To prove it to you, he pulls you into his lap and his fingers like ice when they dip under your shirt and make contact with the warm skin of your belly.

You squeal and gasp at the contact and choke out, “Ice, Jake! Your fingers are ice! I was perfectly happy and warm in here, you know? You also woke the baby up! I just got her to fall asleep and not kick my ribs like she was trying to play soccer!”

“M’sorry Lin.” You know he is sorry, especially when he draws the blanket up around you both and his calloused fingers massage slow, warm circles across your stomach.

Instead of letting him apologize, you pull him into a kiss, slow and sweet, content in your perch on your husband’s lap. When you pull away, you hum in pleasure, soothed and sleepy just from the massage, and your growing daughter is fast asleep in your womb.

“Have I ever told you how beautiful you look like this?” You press a kiss against his collarbone and smile.

“Every day, Jake. I don’t think you’ve stopped telling me how beautiful I am or how much you love me. You tell me every morning when I stagger into the bathroom, practically sprinting, because our baby girl is dancing on my bladder. You tell me when I’m bedraggled, covered in charcoal and pastels, and sleepless because one of my designs isn’t turning out how I can see it in my mind’s eyes. Above all else, you tell me when I’m scared out of my mind and worried that my body’s going to mess up all of our hard work again.” Jake’s eyes glint in the light which lances down to meet the lightning rods you’re a safe distance from. “I fall in love with you every time, too.”

“I didn’t tell you those two facts enough the last time.” His voice still hitches thinking of that dark time in your life as well as the seven years that followed. “I’ll never know if by saying those words to you, it would have made me enough for you to stay.”

“You’ve always been enough for me to stay. I ran away from you because I couldn’t face myself anymore. But we’ll never know if you telling me you love me would have changed anything. All we can do now is live our lives together, just you and me, with our baby girl and Bryant. All we can do is live as a family, love as a family. We can’t afford to think about the what-ifs in our lives, the ways different decisions would have changed the past. But we can learn from the mistakes we made.” You sip carefully on the hot chocolate, relishing in the warmth sinking into your veins as Jake holds you just a bit closer.

“I love you so much, Linley Seresin.” His lips press gently against your temple. “I’m never letting you go ever again.”

“I’d revolt if you tried to let me go now, Jacob Seresin. You’re in this for life now. Anyhow, I’m going to need you to help with half of the feedings and diaper changes once our little miss makes her appearance.”

“Always.”

When you fall asleep that night wrapped around a hideously expensive pregnancy pillow with Jake’s arm around your waist, you are incandescently happy. If only that young girl leaving Pigeon Creek all those years ago had the faith in Jake and in your love that you do now. Maybe it’s true what they always say. Home is where the heart is. You’ll never forget that now.

I’m actually officially working on Tesni’s responses ironically!! I’ll post them when they’re all done but here’s negative through positive approval for you!!

# 22: How is your Tav's relationship with their family? Their parents?

So this one is a little more complex lol 😂 Tesni’s mom died when she was around 8 years old (Tesni never knew her father, nor he about her, so he never left just never knew she existed), Tesni was playing around in Wildshape, and drew hunters near her home, in a more rural area, just outside of Baldur’s Gate. Tesni’s mom was the first to spot the hunters, tried to step in between Tesni and the hunter’s arrows, and unfortunately she was seriously injured as a result. Tesni being a child and scared easy, ran off into the woods where she was found by her eventual mentor, Maren.

That’s the context behind what happened to her parents but her relationship with them was perfectly normal! Tesni loved her mother very much and her mother her (off topic but her mom was a Selûnite! So Tesni grew up learning Selûnite teachings, which is a part of why Tesni has a tumultuous relationship with the gods because of her mother’s death, and why she eventually heals her relationship with Selûne and becomes her chosen) Tesni never knew her father, her mother left before she found out she was pregnant (Tesni’s mom and dad were adventuring partners) so Tesni never knew here father. I would say she has a little bit of a complex about that, but I think it would be overshadowed by everything that happened with her mom.

Anyways, her relationship with her mother was healthy, and her relationship with her mentor was a lot like Tesni’s relationship with her mother. (That was a mouthful 🤣) Eventually Tesni, after Maren is gone, groups together a bunch of the street kids in Baldur’s gate and they all become something a lot like a family. Tesni and her best friend, Grub, take care of the other kids. Here’s a pic of Tesni and her mom (fun fact! Tesni’s name means “the warmth of the sun” in Welsh, so Tesni’s mom call her “sunbeam”!)

Uuuuuuuhhhhh OH! Yam, despite being "blessed" with immortality from yveltal, was actually chosen to be a hero by zygarde!

Let me find the paragraphs hang on

Yam was actually chosen by zygarde to be a hero of order. Yam wasn't chosen by yveltal due to the god being woken up too early from its slumber to power the ultimate weapon, and having used up a lot of energy between charging the weapon, fighting yams team, protecting Yam and her friends from the ultimate weapon, and taking away Yams ability to die. So yveltal just goes right back to sleep asap leaving Yam and Co scrambling. Zygarde saw the mess az made of himself for 3000 years and was like," Nope not letting this kid go through that."

So during yams recovery after being healed by shauna, she spends a lot of time in the secret pokemon village and gets a mentor out of wulfric. After becoming champion and reuniting az with floette, az tells yam that she's probably immortal and she doesn't take it very well. So she goes to the village, battles mewtwo to get out some emotions, and gets told by mewtwo that it might be a good idea for her to talk to zygarde.

Zygarde says "yep definitely cursed, thanks for saving the world btw. If you want a legendary pokemon supporting you who won't be an absenty parent I'll claim you as my hero. You'll basically be asked to fix stuff by other legendarys anyway, it's just this way you can have a title and can ask for my help"

So uh yeah! I think I have art of them

Zygarde won't actually join yam and shauna in a more active role besides pointing them to a region until moon. so that omega Ruby is the girls trying to find a new normal and be self-sufficient and failing at it. OR is a mess of emotions and stress and they girls don't even know shaunas immortal until the very end of the delta episode.

Welt Yang enjoyed watching the stars in this universe.

Of course, it took him time to actually take a liking to it. He still remembered well just how distant they felt at the very beginning, how much they reminded him of the fact this place wasn't home - even though he made a conscious decision to enter this world. How after that person left they seemed to almost laugh at Welt and mock him: “Look, you're on your own again!”; and while he was no stranger to that, it still made him feel… Bitter, almost. Perhaps not necessarily out of place, but still to some extent unwelcome - like these stars were poking and scratching at that wound in his heart that hasn't quite healed yet, never allowing it to close for longer.

He would never admit it to anyone, though; not because of lack of trust on his side, but because he didn't believe it was important enough to trouble anyone with it. Even if it cost him a few too many sleepless nights, spent on tossing around in his bed and staring at the ceiling, and thinking, thinking, thinking way too much, until the voice of doubt in his mind became unbearably loud. Did he really make the right decision choosing to enter this universe? Letting that person leave the crew without a word? Staying here instead of searching for them?

Was he doing the right thing in general, or simply trying to play a pathetic imitation of a hero again?

He bore the name of the world, but not this one. It was likely an incredibly selfish way of thinking, but it wasn't his duty to save this universe. And, he also knew Himeko wouldn't stop him if he decided to leave her as well; no one was keeping him on the Astral Express by force, after all. He was free to do whatever he wished to, even if it was to continue forward entirely on his own.

Ultimately, though, he stayed.

The time he spent on the train grew longer, and as it did, his wish to leave became weaker and weaker. The crew grew too, with Astral Express turning into a safe haven for the new members, somewhere they could always return to, and with Welt eventually becoming a mentor of sorts for these young people. He didn't mind, really. Even more; he was glad he was able to make them feel safe, and like they had someone to rely on; he could tell they needed it, after all.

His room began feeling more cozy, too, as it filled up with various things: some related to his work on the Express, some - to his hobbies, and these were a little more self-indulgent.

And it was only natural that, as he found his place in this universe, another part of him eventually took over.

It was the part that craved knowledge, just like a little kid who always had a thousand questions about the world around them ready; the part that felt pure, simple joy just learning new things; the part that maybe, just maybe, never really grew up. Before Welt realized, he was studying maps of the skies of the planets they visited, learning the names of the stars and constellations, even the legends associated with them.

He was catching himself gazing at the stars more often, too: whether it would be in the parlor car, looking outside the window, relaxing with a cup of coffee or tea; on one of the Astral Express' many stops, as he stole an hour or two from his night sleep just to watch the stars if it only was possible in the world in question; or, finally, in his own bedroom, sometimes even in bed - which was conveniently placed right next to the window, allowing him to see a bit of the sky without needing to get up.

He realized he found the sight oddly calming and soothing as well, something that helped him collect his thoughts whenever he needed that - and sometimes, filling him with almost… Child-like excitement for the journey ahead of them; even bringing a soft smile to his face, which, unbeknownst to him, has been captured on several of March 7th's many photos.

a little part of me wonders whether egwene's trauma from being made damane will manifest itself in hostility towards nynaeve. nynaeve promised in s2ep1 not to leave her, and yet one might argue nynaeve's block on her powers led to egwene's capture - nynaeve would have been powerful enough to take out the seanchan and buy them some time to escape. on the flip side, nynaeve and egwene's relationship might become strained due to nynaeve's guilt over not being able to use the one power. she already looked upset at not being able to heal rand, so when she sees just what was done to egwene, she might start blaming herself. of course this could also give her stronger motivation for her s3 arc, which might be dealing with that block on her powers. just wondering what your take it because i really love their friendship and while i hope it continues i feel like what happened in s2 set the stage for some serious angst between them

ooh this is an interesting thought!! i could definitely see this happening. i keep seeing readers complain that the show making egwene free herself from the collar (in the books nynaeve and elayne free her) has "wrecked" her arc because it taught her that she can get out of any situation by herself...............but i'm pretty sure that's going to be The Point? like, i can easily imagine that egwene has "learned" that she must only rely on herself always in every situation, and maybe she might pull away from her friends as a result and not let them help her, or even grow resentful of them and basically go "you weren't there when i needed you and i got out of it all on my own, so guess what, i'm never going to need you again"

(and i know you haven't read the books, so never fear, none of what i've said is an actual book spoiler! i'm just doing pure speculation here based on what we've seen in s2, especially since the manner in which she escaped was so different in the show than in the books so Who Knows how that might affect her post-trauma reactions? but it IS generally in character for book!egwene to feel like she has to do everything herself - which we've seen in the show too, like how she feels she personally is to blame for rand's "death" because she personally wasn't strong enough to go with him to the eye and save him - so my only point there is that i'm puzzled by the readers who think that her basically getting Validation of the idea that she can & must do everything herself will interfere with her book characterization. in my view it will do the opposite!)

anyway, back to egwene & nynaeve! i'm also thinking about her line to elayne of "she said she came here to protect me, but where is she when i actually need her?" which nynaeve overheard. maybe egwene will feel this way again in the wake of her capture and resent nynaeve, or maybe not; at the very least, i'm sure that her saying "do something!" to nynaeve during the initial capture scene, nynaeve not being able to, and egwene eventually getting out of the situation by herself will make egwene not see nynaeve so much as a mentor/protector anymore and make her feel she's "outgrown" her! and i definitely think NYNAEVE will be haunted by that line of egwene's that she overheard, and feel like she failed egwene just like you said, because she thinks that she wasn't there for egwene when egwene actually needed her. and doubly so because she arrived too late to rescue egwene and egwene had already gotten out without her help, AND nynaeve wasn't able to help elayne or rand in the way she wanted - so she is definitely going to be going into s3 feeling like a huge failure and like she needs to work twice as hard as she already does to protect her kids, poor baby!

Kung Fu Panda different POV

A while ago I had a conversation with my friend about Kung Fu Panda antagonists and here’s what we came to in conclusion:

Kung Fu Panda 3:

Kai - a great warrior, master Oogway’s best friend.

Unfortunately as we all know “history is written by winners”, the only way we learn about Kai is from ONE scroll written by Oogway himself - meaning we only hear HALF of this story. The Kai, Po meets is a Spirit Warrior - a wraith stuck in the state of mind he had before ending up in Spirit World, unable to evolve and change.

The REAL Kai however cared about his allies and friends. He risked his life and traveled in hope to find help for his wounded friend.

What Oogway saw as empty greed, might have actually been Kai’s way to prevent loosing his friends in future. Imagine, if while fighting another huge battle him and Oogway could heal their soldiers with their enemies’ Qi. Everyone would tremble before them. (I know, sounds horrible in long shot, but you get my point)

Their final battle as mortals was probably just a rush decision - maybe Oogway never gave Kai chance to explain his train of thoughts.

Kung Fu Panda:

Tai Lung - (personally, my favorite character) a prodigy student, promised a lot yet banished for following orders.

First his talents: Tai Lung is a great example of body, mind and spirit’s fully used potential. First is the prison scene - he had enough patience to wait for the opportunity to free himself from restrains with JUST A FEATHER.

- Then the climb - without taking a single hit, he overpowered all guards, who stood in his way. Using their own weapons and planning 3 steps ahead. Sure the last falling bridge was a surprise, but he still told himself “I can’t waste this chance.” and gave his all in a matter of seconds to outsmart his opponents.

Also don’t forget that he could still control himself. Prison fight was a coldly calculated set of actions, but then he takes a deep breath and DOESN’T HARM the messenger - he’s gentle and calm.

- Next is bridge fight against Five - look at the difference between him and Tigress - she’s struggling to keep balance and stiffly tries to hold her stance, while he is flawlessly walking and jumping on unstable bridge. This also shows their self-confidence: He knows what he’s capable of and that he can only count on himself, while she believes in her team, she knows they will bail her out off trouble - she’s just a piece of something bigger, which only works well, when put together. But yet again Tai Lung outsmarted them, by knocking them out off fight one by one.

- Fight with Shifu - this is where we learn the story from HIS side. His whole life Tai Lung was looking up to his teacher, mentor and father figure, executing every order flawlessly. And even if becoming the Dragon Warrior wasn’t meant for him, he could’ve become a great master of Kung Fu and maybe one day stand by Shifu’s side.

Unfortunately he was let down by his master. Shifu had one card and bet everything on this one card, feeding Tai Lung hopes and instead of saying: “Ok, so Master Oogway said you won’t be the Dragon Warrior, BUT we can keep training and see where this will take us.”, he stayed silent, didn’t even try to defend his student or ask Oogway “Why?”.

In Tai Lung’s eyes it was a betrayal - he probably thought Shifu will from now on think he’s useless to him. That’s why when he finally met with his former master, he snapped and let loose of his anger.

He was already perfect for master, but no one told him that and so that’s why he didn’t understood the Dragon Scroll’s message. The only reason Po won, was because he understood that he’s perfect the way he is and has to think outside of box to create fighting style fitting for him.

Kung Fu Panda 2:

Shen - heir to the Gongmen City throne and educated strategist.

Now I left him at the end, because it took us a bit to understand his character.

Shen was a promising general, he invented a new type of weapon and wanted to revolutionize ways of fighting, BUT I believe his parents had outdated mindset, not seeing their son’s potential. I mean they went to SOOTHSAYER instead of talking with him. Then “they died from sorrow” - yeah no sh!t, you kinda banished your only child.

Also about his strategy skills. Shen knew a bit how to fight in close combat and knew he has no chance against three guarding Kung Fu masters, yet he put up a good fight against two of them. By using tricks, patience, his opponents’ weaknesses AND most importantly - he broke their fighting spirits by defeating their master with new weapon.

Shen fought with his head and he showed that while also fighting Po. To him it was a game of chess.

Now You might think I’m defending characters, who did a lot of harm - but before you judge someone, learn whole story first.

Saturday Night Question (MMO AU)

a/n: Inspired by Recovery of an MMO Junkie and that bit of Ch. 6 where Idia assigns all the OB Boys rpg classes. Title comes from the op track which I highly recommend. (x) Loose modern au, NRC is an actual college everyone attends and Grim is still a talking cat-weasel-monster. Not everyone knows each other IRL so expect some minor catfishing. The MMO is based off of Final Fantasy XIV and will contain references to class and game mechanics but no spoilers.

Your buddy Epel talks you into trying critically acclaimed mmo First Fantasia because it has a thirty day free trial with unlimited game time and includes the first expansion as a joke but as college gets more stressful and you struggle to make irl connections it becomes your personal safe haven. You finally work up the nerve to join a guild and find yourself stuck in the middle of a really familiar set of egos. At least you're having fun.

Tempura Kun| lalafell| white mage/omni-crafter| Yu (you)

A college student living in a haunted mansion their dead beat dad's "renovating." You are only really interested in crafting after being really burned out on hardcore raiding from your last MMO, but agree to sub for heals so Epel can replace the group's usual off tank who's taking a hiatus. That and Gloomurai agreed to let you decorate the FC house, how could you refuse?

Granny Smith| male roegadyn| dark knight| Epel Felmier

One of your friends from class. Mannon keeps mailing him fantasia and insisting he change his race but he's really attached to how muscular this lets him be. He really just wants to play for fun, but he's super competitive and is super eager to try out harder content to "prove how manly he is."

Gloomy Samurai| female miqo'te| samurai| Idia Shroud

The leader of the fc and the person who runs the discord. Extreeeeeemely blunt to the point of being a bit unpleasant and downright scary. You're pretty sure they only let you join to get access to more pictures of Grim and because Epel's friends with the main tank. Super funny for someone so terminally online, but you are beginning to suspect they just- don't have a life outside of gaming.

Jude Bellerose| male hyur| black mage| Riddle Rosehearts

Knows the mechanics for every single fight in game and is scarily efficient at his rotation. Also extremely inflexible and refuses to adjust for a n y o n e, but blames the wipe on everyone else because he knew the mechanics so why don't you? Pretty sure he broke a keyboard while trying to clear the last raid tier.

Vivat Rex| male miqo'te| reaper| Leona Kingscholar

Rex plays this game for triple triad like a true king and is only kept on the static for his consistent dps. Claims that he doesn't pay attention to the discord but he knows everything everyone says in there anyway and responds any time someone vaguely mentions him. Likes to mess with Jude and is not above causing a wipe to out dps him.

Snake Whisper| male au ra| dancer| Jamil Viper

He has every single non-crafter class leveled and knows their rotation. Refuses to play anything other than dancer because he hates people pulling logs and enjoys holding dance partner over the other dps's heads. Likes to post pictures of his cooking in the discord and has his spotify linked to his account. Surprisingly willing to swap recipes if you ask, provided you promise to not give them to Nautilus.

Mannon Du Luc| male elezen| paladin| Vil Schoenheit

Epel's online friend who he says he hates but you're pretty sure he admires a whole lot. He's playing this game for glam, his dresser is maxed out with almost every limited piece ever added. He has completed every single piece of extreme content for the glam without being carried and expects the same level of competence from his off tank. Super nice to you though, he always coms his healers.

Nautilus Noise| male viera| sage| Azul Ashengrotto

Raid leader who does the call outs with Snake Whisper. Claims to be irl friends with Gloomurai but neither of them ever talk about their personal lives so who knows. Has ff logs installed and will pull them to... critique the other static members. You are 99.9999% sure he's playing the market board with 8 retainers but lack concrete proof. At least you can make him shut up if you compliment him.

i'm having a time of it where i couldn't look at screens very much, so i haven't been watching or posting as much about m*a*s*h, but you'd better believe that has left me even more time to THINK about m*a*s*h!!!

buckle up: update for season four disc one!

(after welcome to korea, that is, which was another post)

headline: LOVE the new characters!!

bj has somehow already committed arson?? hawkeye, you are SUCH a bad example for your little brother

at some point down the line i'm sure i will stop infantilizing this grown ass man but for now literally everything bj does i'm like. that's a Baby.

especially when he participates in a bit where they're going after frank or margaret, who he literally just met

you know when there's like a ten-year-old with a strong opinion about something, like "that [toy, tv show, video game] SUCKS!" with all the rage and feeling in their world-weary heart

... and then one step behind them is the five-year-old who chimes in "yeah that REALLY sucks!" but with this innocent delight in their eyes, like they have no idea what's going on but they're getting a really good grade in Big Kid

that's BJ, is what i'm saying

and colonel potter! he's regular army!! but it's ok: he drinks

it's soooo perfect that he and bj share their first o.r. scene. the sweet calming mentor energy... i'm luv him.

and then HE SHOOTS THE DEAD JEEP. i'm still laughing about that. if colonel potter never does one more funny thing again he's still the funniest man alive.

meanwhile! we join our established characters already in progress

frank and hawkeye's relationship gets genuinely hostile there for a while. uncomfortably so, even.

and during the week i was too dizzy to sit up and make this post i spent a LOT of time thinking about this!!!

each of them are spinning out for their own reasons, which play out all over this season so far. frank gained and lost the power he wanted so badly. hawkeye lost both his besties at the same time, and the support structure and identity that went along with that.

but also trapper's absence on its own radically changed the swamp boys dynamic!!

frank has always been justifiably hateable, but there was a SPORT to it, you know? hawkeye and trapper were tormenting him largely to entertain each other, which means they did it a lot but only to the point where it was funny

and think about the "but there's no real hate, right?" in O.R., like in frank's mind, they torture him but they're all still buddies!!! (and the occasional peek into frank's sad childhood could explain this perception)

it quickly becomes clear in season 4 that trapper was a tempering influence between hawkeye and frank, who end up in a full on BRAWL

LIKE A DRAWN OUT PHYSICAL FIGHT

also hard to watch: frank wrecking margaret's tent. hmm. mm-mmm. don't like this.

on the other hand, i loved the "i'm here but we're not doing anything!" scene in the next episode when they're playing cards in her tent. they're always slapping or kissing or scheming -- i feel like this is the first time we ever see them just hanging out like friends

… with anyone, actually. like this thirty seconds of a card game just unlocked an unseen part of both their personalities

something subtle is shifting in this relationship. by the end of "the kids," even sober-margaret is getting in on the joke that frank sucks. i await future developments.

THE KIIIIIIIIIIDS

oh god it's so sweet and harmless. it's healing. i love it. i want to roll around in that episode.

i hope "frank scams a purple heart and hawkeye steals it" continues to happen every season, like the mail episodes

i learned that alan alda directed this ep, which means that he made the decision both in front of and behind the camera for hawkeye to make this face as bj tells a bedtime story:

hawkeye!!!! don't fall in love with straight boys!!!!!

henry blake memorial bar we hardly knew ye 😢

the moment when hawkeye is like yeah bj, just to get you up to speed: henry was basically radar's dad

any time they mention henry or trapper i have feelings but ALSO i have feelings whenever i think maybe they could have mentioned them but didn't. mentioned them IN MY HEART.

i'm a little fixated on the choice to replace henry and trapper, notorious philanderers, with characters who are immediately identified as Wife Guys

genuinely if y'all hadn't told me that mclean stevenson and wayne rogers wanted out, i would have assumed the character shakeup happened specifically for that reason!

totally other topic but i'm definitely missing some kind of joke here and it's driving me nuts: every time a british character shows up they're heavily spray-tanned. what does it meeeeaaaan??

and lastly. best part of "the bus" is the knowledge that somewhere off-screen, margaret, klinger, and the nurses are running the camp.
