Dating Legolas

❁ When it comes to dating Legolas, you're going to be with someone who is not only kind but loyal to you as well.

❁ Since you are in a relationship together, Legolas' definitely lets his loyalty fall to you, but that doesn't mean he is blinded by it.

❁ Legolas will always be there and will most often take your side in things, especially if they seem reasonable.

❁ Until something isn't quite right to him or seems unreasonable then he will use his loyalty to try and guide you in a different direction or help you see a different perspective.

❁ Even if you get upset by him for doing so, he's steadfast in his beliefs but will stay by your side and be as helpful and supportive as he can be.

❁ Legolas likes to take difficult situations and try and find the silver lining in everything or tries to make light of difficulties but finding fun things to keep you entertained.

❁ Legolas will listen to you speak about your problems, fears or whatever it may be and help show you a brighter side to things or positive things to look at and consider.

❁ And if there's a stressful situation at hand Legolas will try and find something fun to do even if it's as simple as playing a game of "I spy". (Which if you're mortal might unintentionally get frustrating.)

❁ One thing about Legolas is he has quite the adventurous streak so anticipate that all of your dates and time together won't be something mundane all the time.

❁ You can expect to find yourself on hiking trips, boating, horseback riding, runs through the forests, traveling to different elven or human holds that are worthwhile.

❁ Legolas always wants to take you somewhere new and is happy to do so, if you suggest some place that you haven't been before he is happy to take you.

❁ If you are looking for something a little more calm and relaxed you will have to specify, it's not often Legolas will think of those things at first.

❁ But the longer you two are together the more he considers those to be a good way to spend time together, realizing he doesn't always need to be on the go.

❁ Legolas tends to be really thoughtful and considerate of you and your needs as well as pretty affectionate.

❁ You can definitely expect for little gifts to be given to you like a flower that he saw that reminded him of you, or a piece of jewelry at a market stand on his travels when you aren't with him.

❁ You can also expect chaste kisses in public, handholding and an arm around your waist, keeping you close to him.

❁ Legolas doesn't mind the public displays of affections, but he's not over the top with them, preferring for passion and such intimate displays to be between the two of you in private.

❁ In private that rigid formality to affection falls away and he becomes so much more tender and loving, with soft caresses and long sweet kisses.

❁ Legolas, as stated before, is really supportive- expect for him to support all of your endeavors no matter what they may be.

❁ A job change, schooling, a change in hobby and maybe even a move to someplace else as long as you are happy that is what is most important to Legolas.

❁ Because of the fact that there is distance between the two of you on occasion, Legolas can't always be there to protect you.

❁ As a result you can fully expect that he teaches you how to handle yourself.

❁ Legolas will teach you how to throw a punch, or learn how to use your stature against someone who might be bigger than you.

❁ He will also teach you how to use a weapon of your choice, whether that's a knife or a bow or whatever it may be, Legolas would rather you be prepared than not.

❁ Though when Legolas is around, he makes sure absolutely no harm comes to you and is quick to protect you.

❁ If for whatever reason you are unable to protect yourself, anticipate that guards will be assigned to guard you no matter where you are at.

❁ Legolas loves you and wants to make sure you are safe at all times no matter what.

OKAY, FROM THE TOP BECAUSE I HAVE THOUGHTS! (And yes, I know a lot of this is simply “because it adds to the gameplay”, but I will still adapt my headcanons accordingly, that’s why they’re headcanons.)

1. Finally, the holy grail, the door to Aesop Sharp’s chambers.

2. This man is very... reduced in his decor. Minimalistic. There are no unnecessary embellishments aside from the odd picture here and there, but I honestly think those came with the room and weren’t things Aesop brought with him when he took up his post as teacher. Instead, you can find a myriad of potion ingredients, flasks, cauldrons and research notes, showing how dedicated he is to find a cure for his injury (and to mark his students’ exams probably). Everything he owns serves a specific purpose. He also seems to enjoy the odd drink here and there, if the non-descript bottles next to his armchair and footstool in front of the fire are anything to go by. If you like it dark, imagine those are potions against pain (but looking at the sizes of those bottles I honestly doubt it).

3. This is basically just an easter egg that I wanted to mention; if you Glacius the fireplace in his first room, you can crawl through and follow some stairs to a hidden room filled to the brim with concept art of the castle. Because of this, some people headcanon that Aesop is a great artist. While that is a cute thought and you do you, I disagree. Firstly, he’d keep his art in his room, easily accessible. He doesn’t shy away from other people’s opinions, he would have no need to hide his hobby. Secondly, a child already has to crawl through the fireplace, a grown up man with a stiff leg, probably has quite the hard time accomplishing the same. And don’t get me started on the winding stairs afterwards. It just doesn’t add up.

4. We always see him limping through the castle, but he does own a walking cane. I assume he’s either to proud to use it in front of students and staff members alike, or he only needs it if he’s walking for longer periods of time. Though, considering how many fricking STAIRS there are in Hogwarts and what a hassle it is to get to your own bed EVERY DAY, I’d say it’s pride. He might also have bad days where his leg might bother him more.

5. Not only is there a walking cane in his quarters, there’s also a wheelchair. Maybe he needed it while his injury was still fresh. Maybe St. Mungo’s provided him with it when he was released. Maybe it’s for the *really* bad days... or maybe it’s a reminder for him to hurry up with his research because he is living (and moving) on borrowed time.

6. Speaking of research, this note you can find in his room is interesting not only because of what’s written in it, but because of the state it’s in. It’s been folded and unfolded numerous times, there are stains, there are tears, you can literally imagine what this piece of paper might feel like. It’s impossible to get a papercut from this already softened material. This note has been handled, stuffed in pockets, examined and studied countless of times and it’s still around. Does that mean his research is stagnating? Are the ingredients difficult to come by? The signs of wear feel like a contrast to what’s written.

7. Kinda cheating because you don’t find this note in his quarters, but in Professor Hecat’s. He hasn’t been an Auror for quite some time but he still feels responsible. He itches to do his old job, he told us that much. If not for his injury he’d be back in the field within the blink of an eye. He’s not afraid, he’s resourceful and tries to help in whatever ways he can. Also, he seems to have a great deal of respect for Hecat, probably because she was once an Unspeakable. Maybe they even met during his time as an Auror, who knows...

8. More cauldrons, more potion ingredients, more research notes, more seating possibilities. Seriously, his rooms are filled with chairs, settees and footrests, and I don’t think it’s because he has a lot of visitors. The only chair that really invites another person in is the second armchair in front of his smaller fireplace. The others are for him. To either put clothes on them because bending down is probably difficult with a stiff leg or to rest wherever he stands (remember the first potion lesson? He leaned against a frame, taking weight off his left leg, before immediately limping towards his desk to sit down). I imagine there are spikes of pain throughout the day and he needs to be able to sit as often as possible.

9. Unlike Professor Ronen, Sharp has no shaving kit in his room. Considering his uneven scruff, nobody should be surprised. He’s not one to care for appearances too much (despite wearing nice clothing but that’s just “what people do”. It’s the miminum but he won’t go out of his way, especially not if it wastes time or puts a strain on his leg), being clean and well-dressed have to be enough. He also seems to live out of his luggage, clothes are strewn about instead of lying neatly folded in the wardrobe.

10. The pièce de résistance, his bed. Simple, two pillows but only really made for one person. Interesting however, how he put some cloth over the portrait right above it. This only supports my theory that he did not choose what the walls are lined with and isn’t exactly happy about so many pairs of eyes watching him from every angle. Especially not while he’s in bed, doing Merlin knows what (like sleeping, get your mind out of the gutter. ...Jk, I’m already living in the sewers, let’s be real).

So, what do we take from these pictures?

Aesop Sharp is clearly single and we are absolutely ready to mingle.

Lucifer, Mammon, Satan + multi-hobby reader

Lucifer

“Hello darling.” Lucifer greeted as he came into the den. “How is the crochet coming?”

“Oh I gave up on that.” [Y/N] replied cheerfully. “I’m taking up needle point now.”

Lucifer sighed and sat down across from them. He never questioned [Y/N]’s invested interest in new hobbies. Whatever constructively helped them pass the time. Sometimes they were good, like when they took up new cooking techniques or gardening. Some where less good, like when they took up axe throwing and put a big gaping hole in the wall. His only complaint was that they perhaps had too many hobbies. Constantly changing them and never seeing one through.

“You know, if you stuck with your hobbies for a while, you might find that you improve on them. You don’t have to be instantly good at every new thing you try.”

“I know that.” Their tone did not sound convincing, however. “I just like to try new things.”

“And there’s nothing wrong with that.” Lucifer agreed. “And there’s nothing wrong with giving up on things you don’t actually interest you in the end. However, if you don’t give these hobbies of yours a proper chance you’ll never know. Sometimes the things that are the most challenging offer the greater reward when we accomplish them.”

[Y/N] sat their needlepoint down and looked at Lucifer. “Maybe you’re right. I guess I could give it another shot. I did buy all that new yarn.”

Lucifer smile. “Whatever makes you happy darling.”

Mammon

“Ow! What the--! Who’s Akuzon order is all over the damn lobby?!”

“Sorry! It’s mine!” [Y/N] apologized. Jogging up to Mammon to get their boxes.

“Oh…ok.” He knelt down to pick up one of the boxes. Suddenly pain & anger free from almost tripping over them a moment ago. “What is all this?”

“My new leather press.” Mammon gave them a confused look, which made [Y/N] chuckle. “It’s for making leather belts or jewelry. Stuff like that.”

“Belts hn?” Mammon replied as he helped carry the boxes upstairs now. “Well, if ya ever need a model for ‘em. Look no further than right here!”

[Y/N] chuckled again. “A model? Why would I need that?”

“For when ya take the pictures to try and help sell ‘em.”

“I’m not going to sell them.”

“Then why bother?” Clearly this made no sense to him.

“I don’t know. It just seemed like a fun thing to try. Besides, I don’t even know if I’ll be good at it.”

“I’m sure ya will be. You’re good at everything.” Mammon seemed to realize that he had said that out loud, and his ears turned red. “I mean, I’m sure it can’t be that hard. You just pull this handle thingy down over the leather and it works like that, right? Any idiot can do that.”

“Well, this ‘idiot’ is gonna try.” [Y/N] teased. Making Mammon pout. “But, I tell you what, I may not need to model but I can make you a belt once I get the hang of it. How about that?”

Mammon’s face lit up for a moment, but then he tried to tamper it down. “I mean…yeah, sure. If you want to. I guess that would be cool.”

He then proceeded to wear it every day once he got it.

Satan

“What are you reading?” Satan asked as he came up to [Y/N] with their nose buried in a book.

“It’s a book on gardening.” They replied. “I was really interested in the herbology lesson the other day, so I wanted to see about maybe growing some of the plants to keep around here.”

“That’s very ambitious.” He told them. “Devildom plants are notoriously tricky to grow in a control environment. They like to be wild.”

“Like the people?” [Y/N] asked. Giving Satan a cheeky look. To which he smiled.

“I suppose. Which one are you going to try first?”

“I was thinking this one.” They showed him a picture of some flowers, commonly now as Magpie Blooms. “They look really pretty and I thought that they would brighten up the house.”

“They will up until the point they try to kill us.” Satan interjected. “Magpies are aromatically poisonous.”

[Y/N] quickly turned the book around with a startled, “what??” and re-read the passage. “Geez. You’d think they’d mention it in here.”

“It’s sort of common knowledge to us.

[Y/N] sighed and sat the book down. “Don’t get discouraged [Y/N]. There are a lot of other, perfectly lovely plants that aren’t nearly as dangerous. Tell you what, why don’t we try this new hobby together? I’ve always liked plants. Maybe not as much as Asmo, but enough. And learning a new topic is always interesting. Why do you say?”

[Y/N] beamed and said, “ok!” Before opening the book again and sitting next to Satan to go over it.

Satan, of course, thought that their first attempt should be for catnip. They settled on a lavender bush instead, but there may have been a small pot of catnip secretly growing in Satan’s room later.

Horror characters and their love languages

I did this for the lost boys and I wanted to do it for other horror characters too. There's a lot of characters on this because the head cannons are shorter so I'm sorry if it sucks.

Includes: Jason Voorhees, Will Grahm, Hannibal Lecter, Billy Lenz, Michael Myers, Corey Cunningham, Bubba Sawyer, Herbert West, Dan Cain, Amanda Young, Adam Faulkner, Peter Strahm and Mark Hoffman

Warnings: Mentions of murder and cannon type violence

Jason Voorhees

Jason can't talk, there's not a lot of things he can give as gifts and he's worried he'll hurt you if he tries to so physical affection so he likes to let his s/o know that he loves them with acts of service and quality time together.

He'll hear you complaining about hand cramps from chopping firewood or how many dishes you have to clean and he'll want to help you take care of them.

Will Grahm

This man lives for praising his s/o and spending time with them. He's constantly telling you how much he loves you and how grateful he is to have you as his partner. If he's out of town then he'll leave you lots of notes around the house for you to find.

When he is in town the loves to spend time with you doing whatever shared hobbies the two of you have. If you like to go fishing he's all for that. Walking your dogs together is a great idea too.

Hannibal Lecter

Hannibal has money to burn so gift giving is a big one for him, also words of affirmation. He loves letting you know he's thinking about you and that he thinks you're worth expensive things with the gifts he gives you.

He loves letting you know how lovely and smart he thinks you are. Loves giving you all of the praise and words of affirmation you deserve.

Billy Lenz

Billy loves quality time and later on in the relationship, physical touch. Billy loves spending time with you, doesn't matter what you're doing he just wants to be there with you enjoying the moment together.

As your relationship develops he's going to get very handsy with you. Constantly wanting to touch you and love on you. He's a chronic cold hands haver so he's going to shove his cold hands under your shirt and on any exposed skin to heat them up.

Michael Myers

Michael also can't talk but I feel like he can and will steal you things so gift giving and acts of service are on the table as his big two. If he finds something you might like on a victim, he's going to steal it for you. If he finds anything you like in general he's going to steal it for you.

He also thinks that him doing acts of service for you is a big deal because it shows that he cares enough about you to do things for you.

Corey Cunningham

Corey is big on physical affection and words of affirmation. Corey is so touch starved it is so unreal. Any kind of physical affection with you is something that Corey is going to savor for the rest of his life.

He also loves letting you know and hearing that you love him and he loves you so much. Simply telling him how much he means to you is a big deal to him. Of course he'll constantly tell you how much he loves you too.

Bubba Sawyer

Bubba loves spending quality time with you and giving you as much physical affection as you can handle. Bubba loves spending time with the people that he loves and that includes you. He wants to let you know that he loves you so much and a great way to do that is spending lots of time with you.

He also loves showing you how much you mean to him by always giving you tight hugs and holding your hand. Most physical affection is done in private however because he doesn't want his brothers teasing him.

Herbert West

Hebert is a busy man so he doesn't have much time for anything, but he does find time for words of affirmation and acts of service. He thinks that telling you how much he loves you is a great thing and that it should mean a lot because he doesn't just praise anyone and everyone, his words of affirmation are special.

When he does find free time he likes to use it helping you with things. Oh you complained about this door being creaky? He's oiling the hinges. You're hungry but don't have the energy to cook? He's got you covered don't you worry.

Dan Cain

Dan loves to see you smile. He's also a busy man but I think words of affirmation and quality time are his biggest love languages. He loves seeing you smile when he tells you how attractive you are and how much he loves you.

When he has the time he loves to spend it with you doing things that you both enjoy. Spending time working on a puzzle or just making something together is a great way to spend a weekend to him.

Amanda Young

Amanda is a big fan of words of affirmation and physical touch. Letting you know and you telling her that you love each other so much is something she really adores. She loves hearing you say that you love her and she loves saying it too.

Holding each other and cuddling is a great way for her to stay grounded. She struggles with mental health and addiction but having you in her arms or her being in your arms is something she finds that helps her.

Adam Faulkner

Adam doesn't have a lot of money to spend and he's bad with words but acts of service and physical touch never fail him. Adam loves doing things for you so that you know he's always thinking of you even when you're not there. He'll make you meals, help you with projects and drive you wherever you need to go.

Adam is touch starved and I know it. He loves feeling you in his arms and the security of cuddling up together at night. It feels calming to him in a way. He just loves physical affection.

Peter Strahm

Peter is a busy man. He doesn't often have time to spend outside of work, so he makes up for it with words of affirmation and acts of service. He loves telling you how attractive you are to him and how much a adores you in general. He doesn't get tired of letting you know that he loves you.

He also likes doing things for you to let you know that he hears you and thinks about you often. Offering to cook for the two of you if he can tell you're tired, driving you places, helping you with projects, etc.

Mark Hoffman

Mark isn't great with words and he's not the best gift giver so he finds that quality time and acts of service are great ways to show you that he loves you. When he's not too busy putting people in death traps he likes to spend it doing things with you and going on fun little dates.

He also likes being able to provide for you because it makes him feel more masculine. He likes being able to take care of you and show you that he does love you through his actions.

MACHI RELATIONSHIP HCS CUZ I LOVE HER

i’m doing this with female reader in mind but i have absolutely nothing against if someone wants a machi x male reader!! (plus i haven’t done female reader yet)

in troupe reader!!

this probably won’t be spoiler free btw

machi as a s/o is very caring and cautious about your safety

even though your in the troupe and she knows you can handle yourself she’ll keep an eye out for you

no matter how strong—stronger than her even

thats just how she is, if she gets a hunch she’ll come running

not literally—just to seem collected- but she would definitely internally worry if you don’t come back way after the time you were supposed to

if were talking after pakunoda died that’ll definitely heighten

she’ll be slightly more paranoid for you

if you’ve been in the troupe a long time you’ll notice these things

but if you were a replacement for a founding member you may or may not notice depending on your skill

its highly likely you do though, since all the troupe members are above average strong, whether in nen, resources, intelligence, gadgets, whatever!

machi would make sure you eat, drink & sleep properly

she’s a very caring lover

shes also the type to be very blunt though

dont take it to heart she means well by it

i feel if your in a relationship with her she trusts you a lot, so you probably own a apartment somewhere together

she’s decent at cooking

but if your a terrible cook she won’t mind because of her living conditions growing up

that doesn’t mean she won’t judge and give criticism though

how else will you improve? in her eyes

she’ll eat it but she’s still picky about it

teaches you what she knows about flavoring/seasoning (or whatever she doesn’t like about it)

i know she would be good at giving massages

but she will expect some in return

she keeps the house clean and expects you to, too

she’s used to living in clutter from childhood but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t like cleanliness 🙄

if your a slob she’ll scold you but still clean the place up herself

she gets up early

like at the crack of dawn

she’s a get things done woman

when she goes to bed varies depending on your troupe missions, how tired she is, etc

she’ll probably wake you up early too but won’t care much as to when you go to bed

unless your health starts declining because of it

then she’ll start forcing you to go bed real early

like 7-8 pm

she doesn’t care if your a grown woman or not

she’s not loosing you all because you refuse to sleep 😒😑

as for dates it won’t necessarily be dates

she’ll just consider it as quality time

stargazing

indulging in your hobbies

her teaching you how to sew your own socks with holes back together

(she rummages through your drawer to find your socks with holes and if they’re dirty she’ll throw them out. if they’re clean they’re now sewn back together)

the troupe knows your together but thankfully it doesn’t put a elephant in the room

especially since y’all don’t do pda

if you try she’ll stop you

shes protective of you though

not really toward the troupe unless they tried to flirt with your fine and dine behind

even then she’d still expect you to handle it yourself and be loyal to her

if a stranger hits on you she be slightly more annoyed

she’s not hot headed though

if they get the message after you say your in a relationship, fine.

but if they keep harassing you?

on another note

at the end of long days she would rest her head on your chest and listen to your heartbeat to lull her to sleep

or vice versa depending on who had a more stressful day

dont talk about it out loud though—especially in front of the troupe. she’ll stop doing it for weeks on end out of embarrassment. with enough time (and stress that built up) she’ll come back to doing it though

if your girly and like to do makeup and hair/skin care routines she’ll do it with you but not every time (skin care more than anything)

and don’t make a big deal or show out of it

but if you wanna sing your favorite songs she’ll have a soft smile on her face

wont sing with you though

how i wouldve rewritten the sso intro quests (off the top of my head in like 10 min and im not a professional writer just a hobby gamedev)

they can 100% keep the ferry cutscene it was cute

we are welcomed to the camp by justin and told that this is the moorland stables and his dad owns it, he hopes you'll enjoy your time. now lets walk over the bridge from moorland->camp to show you your cabin and meet maya.

near the cabins, maya is holding the starter horse (by the reins like when we lead) and talking to lisa (and maybe alex) when we arrive. we say hi, she tells us this is your lesson horse for now and she already got it ready, commenting on that it can be a bit difficult but nothing major, just nobody has really clicked with it yet (similar what she says in new intro).

there is a moment of a cutscene between the horse and mc, showing that we feel some kind of bond or intrigue as a soul rider, mc has a dialogue/thought like "i feel like this horse is looking at me almost like a human" or idk something.

lisa says hi and something similar as new intro - that shes there to get used to horses again after her trauma and taking it slowly.

justin says he has to go help another camper, bye. maya says, lets go to the paddock and you can try getting on the horse, we're going to have a lesson with everyone soon but there's some time until then.

maya helps us get up on the horse in the paddock, while lisa is leaning on the fence, watching.

we learn the controls how to move, the same basic of the new intro.

maya asks how we are feeling, and that it looks like we have a good handle on this horse already, like we are a good fit.

The dramatic cutscene i need: the camera cuts from us sitting on the horse to some kind of magic or fripp related thing right next to the paddock - it could be the fripp ghost, it could be something else. (something nobody else can see.) our horse spooks at the mysterious thing and we fall off!

mc goes "urgh, ow, ow!" and we're laying on the ground, holding our leg/arm/whatever. but the camera showed that lisa (with a worried face) very quickly ran over as we fell and now bends down next to us, while maya is catching the horse.

the camera shows a close up shot of some strange little light around lisas hand as she touches our hurt bodypart. mc then quickly starts relaxing from the pained face. lisa asks if we're okay, and mc is like "yeah, that hurt, but... i guess its not that bad, its not really hurting now...?"

as that scene happened, our starter horse came back towards us, and it lowers its head to sort of nuzzle us as we sit on the ground with lisa, as if to say "sorry, you okay?" (this is to help show the horse isn't scary and didnt mean to throw us off.)

mc cautiously pets the horse's head, there's a moment of animation between caution to then relaxing and accepting the horse's apparent apology.

maya is back in the shot, asks if we're okay, and we nod, lisa says "it seems they're fine". maya or lisa offers their hand to get us up.

maya says the best thing is to get right back up in the saddle, if we really aren't hurt and feel okay. lisa looks hesitant and says we dont have to get back up right now if we dont want to, because that was scary and its okay to be scared, but she agrees maya is right about not letting the fear take over too. maya might say "sorry, i didnt mean to be insensitive, i know you went through a lot lisa" and lisa is like "its alright, dont worry".

mc says we're getting back on, so we do and we have some other little practice, like the full stop.

justin comes back after that, and says we're ready to have the lesson now. now there are some bobcats around (not just random anonymous npcs nobody cares about) and some npcs that look more similar to mc aka camp participants.

here the lesson (implied to be happening with other camp participants, whether they can be shown in the paddock or only outside it) could be a small test where the player has to follow the lines at the correct gait, since this would come back with dressage later in the game (assuming it will be added properly) and the "follow the line" in some other gameplay (druid training, foal training on south hoof, etc)

after that we learn how to jump with a very small jump, and lisa on the side is like "you can do it!", after the jump there's a small cutscene of mc patting the horse and the horse looking happy (bonding moment). maybe here there could be some extra drama, show the player someone watching from the shadows, or a DC drone, ...or not if thats too much.

now maya and justin introduce that we're going to do a small simple race, here more or less same as in new intro. lisa says we inspired her with our braveness and she gets on starshine and joins the race (we can see her riding it ahead of us).

at the end of the race lisa is happy and we're all having fun. (here's another chance to add in a menacing person/drone watching from the shadows, if not before this, but again, maybe thats too much.)

justin now helps us get off the horse (still on the new island thingy, not at moorland stables) and we move over to the stalls and learn how to groom and feed our horse there. here we also learn how to buy horse feed and fill the bucket.

after this, it would be okay to introduce linda, reading as she is in the new intro. (lisa could ask what shes reading and linda says "100k knights of unistria vampire AU" and lisa says "oh, you printed out fanfics again, i shouldve guessed...")

but when linda says the "we've met before" thing, give mc an option to answer - "i also feel like we met before, but where?" or "im not sure...", small changes to this dialogue to make it better and more immersive for the player.

from here you could either jump to the dream sequence in a similar way its done now, but maybe show vaguely the other soul riders in the dream *while we havent met them yet*. i do think the dream could also be improved - show us 4 ghostly horses instead of 2 to represent the soul riders horses, and do some of the camera work differently for other parts.

the next day, we leave our cabin and maya is outside, there's a cutscene to force us to start the quest. she says "oh, you're up early" - "yeah, i had a nightmare" - "aw that sucks. sorry to ask, but since you're up, would you mind helping me out a bit?" - we start a quest to go to fort pinta to pick up stuff for the camp, and to meet alex and james there. maybe lisa or linda is up early too and offers to join.

honestly i dont have energy to write anymore bc i dont get paid but you get the idea. alex (and james) get introduced here on day 2 during this errand quest to fp (which might Go Wrong in some way for drama, bc we need drama), maybe jasper can still be introduced here just being grumpy and starting some of the lore for justin, without fully stopping us from going. something else shady could happen with GED, kembell, a slight rewrite of the old intro, allowing linda or lisa or justin or maya to talk to us about GED as it happens (maya certainly has reason to). anne could be introduced later at the end of day 2, and here we could go into the campfire and lisa's singing and shit. (or you could build it up for another day, so we feel even more bonded with the charas first!)

I was building ikea furniture the other day and got thinking about how weird idol's lives are and how many basic life skills they probably lack. like we know most kpop idols at least finish school, but we've also all heard about hollywood actors being dumb as bricks.

so what basic shit do we think our skz boys, and especially our minsung boys, are just absolutely incapable of doing? we know minho can cook, but you can't tell me they didn't all have trouble figuring out laundry in their mojo dojo casa house of a dorm.

also can you imagine reader or your OC literally shaking their head at them hahahah

or would they get turned on by the weirdest shit because reader or your OC is competent and confident in small moments? like she makes really good coffee because she used to be a barista, or whatevs

While I think Stray Kids have learnt more than most after living by themselves in that dirty hole, I feel that after a while they grow used to the chaos and they barely got time to improve, considering their careers. Now they're more famous and probably richer, I feel they have other people doing these stuff for them. Also, most idols have shown in variety shows that they can barely fry eggs without guidance, so yeah

It's funny you mention my OC because this scenario fits her perfectly and her story. Vivi comes from a big family and due to her upbringing, she has grown up learning a lot of skills to be completely self-sufficient at a young age. And because pursuing a dance career isn't exactly cheap unless you're a kpop trainee, of course she has worked in some jobs to earn extra money. Shop assistant, waitress, babysitter, and even a bartender at some point, although this one was more like a hobby rather than a job, since she loves anything related to alcohol. It's very important for her to be independent and not rely on people.

Part of being a competitive dancer implies moving around a lot for tournaments, so she's used to live without external support and having no option but do things herself. Assemble furniture, cook food, house chores, handling the bills, you name it. After all, the more she can do by herself, the less money she has to spend.

I believe that most of the boys can do basic stuff, as long as they have the instructions in front of their eyes and can ask for help. Otherwise, they're lost. They know how to cook because they need to feed themselves and do some cleaning for hygiene, but that's it. They're clueless about anything else.

So it'll be like this. Imagine that, for some reason, Vivi and MinSung have to live together for a while, maybe for a show or a dare, or because they have out of necessity, I don't know. The apartment is big and cozy, but there's a tiny problem: There's no furniture, functional electricity or food. This isn't new for Vivi, so she simply accepts it and gets to work, while MinSung stand there like "wait, aren't they supposed to provide these stuff for us?"

So you have this girl acting as a babysitter and provider for two grown ass man, older than her, that can't even start the washing machine.

"So, how do we do this?"

"By pressing the big button with Start written on top..😑"

Going to buy the furniture is a mess, because while Vivi is carefully picking up the options based on what they need and knows where to look, the boys treat it as a fun trip. They're basically her children she has to look after, trying the beds and almost getting lost for going after something that caught their eyes.

"Hey Vivi, what is that? Can we take it? It looks so cool!"

"...that's a drill, Jisung"

They get confused when she leads them to the warehouse underneath and buys some boxes.

"Wait, weren't we going to buy the furniture?"

"Yes, duh, I have it all right here. We'll arrange them later at home"

"Wait, what? do you mean arrange them?!"

Vivi soon realizes she's going to have an extra load of work she didn't anticipate. Lots of face palming and taking deep breaths because seriously, how are they still alive??

She's casually arranging her wardrove like it's second nature to her, quickly and precise, knowing exactly where everything goes. She throws a glance at the boys and finds, well, complete disaster. They're nowhere half done, the instructions a mess of papers around them and none are holding the right tools for it. She's exasperated and shoos them away, taking care of everything as they watch.

And you're absolutely right, they find all of this sexy as fuck.

They stare at her in awe and admiration as she leads them through the different shops, keeping mental lists of everything they need and knowing stuff unknown to their ears. Their eyes sparkle as she speaks with terms they never heard before and takes all the stuff she claims they need. They follow her like lost puppies, eagerly waiting for her next orders. They specially stick to her hips in crowded zones, since she gives zero fucks about pushing people out of her way and telling them to move (their introvert asses could never)

They might have needed some cold showers after witnessing her arranging everything in the house. The furniture, the electricity cables, the pipes, acting like it's all stuff she does everyday. She needs to watch some tutorials for some of those chores, but she quickly gets the hang of it. Her figure all sweaty and red and her light clothing already clinging to her body from all the effort. Her strong arms on display with her tank top, her hair in a messy bun with some wet strands near her cheeks, some dirt on her face and holding a tool that looks like a murder weapon, and...ops, they're hard, time for another shower..

Jisung feels he might nut his pants when she lifts a fucking couch to check something underneath, holding it still with one hand while relying some of the weight on her shoulder. Minho once sat on it to annoy her, thinking she wouldn't be able to lift it with him there...turns out she did it anyway. And now there's two people wanting to nut in their pants.

She gives some easy chores to keep them busy. Minho is in charge of cooking and Jisung bring the ingredients. So after exhausting hours of working around, Vivi comes back to a full cooked meal as a "reward".

She's a professional hunter of discounts, bargains and anything that implies saving as much money as possible. She doesn't have the budget of an entire company supporting her, so she's used to tracking down the best offers and making sellers sweat to give her the price she wants. It's a battle of rhetoric and sheer determination, and the boys are once more in awe.

She discusses with the landlord about the apartment's issues and is ready to argue with anyone about her rights. She handles the bills and most of the financial matters.

Bonus: She once used a whole drill to fix the bed and closets instead of a screwdriver ("this is better, guys, my mother taught me"), headphones on to mute out the noise and the veins in her arms pecking out with the force of holding it, mindlessly doing the task.

Just popping into your ask box today to ask: what personal headcanons about LS have been floating around in your head nowadays? This is kind of a broad question, but I guess... ones surrounding food?

Okay starting with my firmest food headcanon: TK can cook. Simple as that lol. But if someone else offers to cook for him, he definitely won’t be saying no. That’s one of the many reasons he and Carlos work so well together.

That being said (which is basically canon at this point), Carlos loves to cook for people. Love language!! I think Carlos learned to cook from his mom and he loves those memories with her even if in the moment, his internal thoughts on if his father saw him as too soft were growing

Paul is the best cook at the firehouse hands down and everyone loves when it’s his night. That firehouse table is full and half of the people don’t even work there. No one bats an eye when Carlos or Grace or Wyatt show up and grab a plate

Judd can make a mean barbecue. He also handles all things breakfast. Grace takes care of the rest and makes sure that man eats things like eggplant or squash which Judd is always skeptical about but ends up loving it, prompting a ‘why do you doubt me?’ from Grace

Marjan is always down to go out and try any new cuisine. She can get them a table at the new restaurant in town that has like a three month wait list

Nancy likes baking and the first time she shared this hobby with the group is the first 126 hang she went to when she felt a little out of place and still on the outside. She wanted to give them a reason to like her, but she hasn’t told anyone that

Mateo lived on takeout, frozen pizza, and boxed mac and cheese at his old place with his idiot roommates, but now that he has a full kitchen and learns things like what a pasta cutter is, he starts slowly trying his hand at cooking.

Tommy is constantly trying to make food like Charles once did because she doesn’t want the girls to miss his cooking and they notice this, telling her that they love her cooking just as much. When they get a little older, they all start to make Charles’ recipes together on nights when they miss him a little more than usual

Owen’s health food craze is powered by his need to keep his body appearing strong and healthy to hide the fact that his mind isn’t always in the same state. It’s why we see him eating a bucket of chicken when he thinks he’s alone for the night.

I think it was Paul in season 1 who called the 126 the hardest bunch to cook for but even with everyone’s differing diets, everyone always leaves firehouse dinners, 126 hangs, birthdays, whatever it may be with a full stomach because everyone is so considerate of what people can and can’t eat and the spread is for everyone

"love language" implies that they're communicating something affectionate, which obviously they have never done, ever! draco has never expressed anything but strictly platonic esteem for hermione and he violently resents any implication to the contrary, of course! /s

hermione i had to go by process of elimination. quality time, i don't think so, as hermione is usually pretty happy by herself; physical touch, definitely not, nor for draco — it's ron and harry who are the touchy ones, not her. (i also don't know a lot of only children who are physical touch people, to be honest.) gifts... probably don't do much for her, although she sincerely appreciates them, just because i never took hermione as someone who put much stock in physical items. words of affirmation touch her deeply — as you may have noticed, one of draco's hobbies is trying to get her eyes to "do the baby deer thing" — something something desire for approval, something something social insecurity vs validation, etc., etc. but it's not her language, because hermione is point-blank terrible at telling people how she feels, even when those feelings are affection.

acts of service is huge, though. hermione spends half of deathly hallows furiously battling the mantle of Mom Friend, which i do not think she really wants, and which, to whatever extent she picked it up, she did reluctantly, from necessity. she doesn't like cooking, but she does most of it anyway. that, combined with her doing ron and harry's homework for almost all six years of their education, was a dead giveaway that service to others Is Her Thing. she'll kvetch and whine and berate the boys for not handling their own business until the sun goes down, but at the end of the day, she will always, always bail them out. hermione granger is never not trying to save the people she loves.

meanwhile, I think draco's attention to Christmas gifts is a bit of a giveaway on his part. gift-giving among the extremely wealthy is a sort of weird thing, because ultra-expensive gifts don't mean any more than moderate or reasonably expensive ones do — it's all the same level of non-investment, from the rich person's perspective — it's just that obviously you're going to go with the ultra-expensive thing, Because You Can, and perhaps just as importantly, Because Others Can't. the ugly flipside to this is how catty draco gets about other people's presents to hermione, especially ron's. it's not so much that he doesn't like homemade or low-cost gifts — hermione gives him the same thing every year (lovely predictable girl) and he adores it, even though an album or two is a quite reasonably priced Christmas present for hermione's upper-middle-class family. but hermione's gift shows that she knows something about him, and has insight into what he'd enjoy. draco makes a point of giving her things that others can't, and she gives him things that others could, but wouldn't think to. which, in his eyes, makes them as rare to him (who could buy anything) as his expensive presents are to her (who couldn't). i think he's very into those performative displays of proprietary knowledge. he also pointedly notices when she wears his presents (which are, by not total happenstance, things that others will see her using); he likes knowing that she likes them, of course, but there's also a bit of spectacle in anything that expensive. because most people in gryffindor will know that hermione doesn't have Everfull Inkwell money out of pocket. and like, if Daphne Greengrass sees Hermione Granger rocking up in a winter coat straight from Wizard London Fashion Week, then uh, yeah, she's gonna know who's responsible.

...not that draco cares, obviously.

i've been thinking about this for the past few days & decided to ask you to weigh in on it: what do you think would be the biggest dealbreaker(s) for each mysme character?

This is a tough question because this is a game where the focus is on learning, growing, and adapting with your partner to be the best person you can be.

Ideally, there wouldn't be a need for dealbreakers but I assume many characters would have hardlines for a healthy relationship that we can discuss. I think the hardlines would be the easiest thing to cover for you all.

Yoosung can't be with someone who babies him.

He might be going into his first relationship and maybe you have more experience than he does, but don't assume that he is a child or act like he doesn't understand how relationships work. It's the same way he doesn't like to be treated like a child when his friends walk all over him and say he’ll get it when he’s older.

As I'm sure many people are aware, he is an adult and he knows how to handle himself just as much as anybody else does. He doesn't need somebody to coddle him and tell him what to do. If you are the kind of person that likes to take charge in a relationship and handle everything from the get-go, you're not going to be able to be with him.

It's not that he wants to be in charge because he's a man, it's more so that he wants to have a relationship where everything is on equal footing. You protect him and he protects you, you talk to him and he talks to you, you grow with him and he grows with you.

His hard line is when somebody acts like they know more than he does even if they're the same age. He doesn't want to be disrespected. It's okay to pinch his cheeks and call him cute, but don't make a point of infantilizing him.

Zen can't be with someone who disrespects people, even jokingly.

Do you know how angry he gets whenever there is a conversation about class? He has gone through some of the most traumatic things a person can go through once you realize you don't have a place to put your head at night. He has seen people be disrespected and treated lesser than his entire teenage and adult life.

He does not stand for bigotry. He will be the first one to throw the punch if somebody disrespects another person. He doesn't like it when people make jokes about other people in a way that can be read as condescending.

It's one thing to make a light-hearted gesture and another person who's okay with whatever joke you're saying, but if you do something to take down another person just because you're trying to beat them in an argument, oh no. You do not punch low in an argument.

You do not do that especially when it's something that another person cannot control. A good example of this is somebody punching down another person by telling them to “take a shower” in an argument while knowing that person doesn’t have access to one. That's the kind of thing he can’t stand. A hard line for him is somebody who shows their true colors in an argument and those colors are not golden.

Jaehee can't be with someone who belittles her hobbies.

This should be a given for anybody who has something special to them that has been poked fun at by other people. Your partner is supposed to be somebody who understands and respects that you might have a hobby that they may not share.

If you're the kind of person that talks over another person when they start to talk about something that they like, this is not a healthy dynamic whatsoever. You can't make everything about yourself. You should make a point to be interested in the things that your partner cares about even if it's not something you understand.

It means a lot to another person to have an outlet to discuss the things that matter to them and if they go to that effort for you, you should be meeting them halfway every time. Otherwise, what is your relationship even for at the end of the day?

Her line is going to be if you decide that you don't like how she likes to spend her free time. If you can't respect how she enjoys herself, then she can't respect herself when she's with you. The relationship can't continue.

Jumin can't be with someone who values superficial desires.

This is something that is already explained in the game multiple times as he communicates what he doesn't want in a partner. He already doesn't care to have a relationship as it stands where he is in his life until he's able to encounter his MC, but he makes it clear what he doesn’t like.

He doesn't like people who only care about the money and they are only in it to make a deal to get something they want for their own selfish greed. He can at least appreciate when somebody is honest that that is what they want because as long as somebody is honest, he can respect them. But if somebody is going to be sneaky and underhanded and lie their way through everything around them to get that, he could not respect that person ever.

He doesn't want a partner who only cares about the value of items. He needs a partner that cares about communication and being able to share everything in their heart with another person. It is disrespectful to the vulnerable state that he shared with you for you to decide somewhere in the middle of a relationship that you don't give a damn about what he's feeling, you only care about what he can pay for.

What he doesn't need is somebody who gets more and more excited about being able to have everything in the world at their fingertips just for the sake of saying they had it. His hard line is somebody who tries to get with him for the wrong reasons and somehow manages to slip past his radar before he can nip it in the bud.

Saeyoung can't be with someone who disrespects his boundaries.

What I mean by this is that he can't be with somebody who doesn't understand just how heavy the weight of his trauma is. He already has a hard enough time accepting that he went through something horrible, and it's going to take him even longer to be able to admit to himself that he's allowed to say that he was a victim.

If you are going to make it even harder on him to find peace over those things, he can’t be with you. It's good to give him a healthy kick in the right direction because that's how your relationship started with him in the first place but if you are going to push him when he is not ready, this is not going to work.

There is a difference between wanting to support somebody and wanting to push them to get better just for you and not for their sake. He is a self-sacrificial person and he would hurt himself trying to make another person happy, he's done it a hundred times, and it's not healthy to keep doing that. It would be hard for him to make this boundary because he is the kind of person who would want to work on you with these things even if it's not healthy, but it's going to have to be a hard line if you keep doing it over and over again.

Especially if you push him on his brother in any way. If there are any specific problems with his brother that you talk about with him in such a manner that belittles his hard work to make things right with him, or you bite at Saeran for anything that shouldn't require a bark, it's over. it's done. He will choose his brother. Sorry.

V can't be with someone who walks all over him.

I believe this is also a given if you understand him as a character. He has the tendency to be a pushover at worst before he's able to take time for himself and work on everything in therapy. If you are the kind of person who says what you mean without checking with your partner first to see if it's okay, this isn't going to work out.

If you say something and don't even give the floor to him, he won’t speak up. It can quickly become a toxic dynamic not only for him but for you as well because the control in a relationship should never be balanced in this way.

He doesn't need a repeat of his last relationship.

The boundary he has to set is one that he needs to make when he learns how to assert himself. If you're going to act like you know what's best for him and he doesn't have a clue what he should do for himself, then this isn't going to work out and for the sake of everybody in the relationship, it needs to be ended sooner rather than later. That is a line that cannot be crossed. If he has any self-respect for himself, he won't let anybody walk over him ever again.

Saeran can't be with someone who ignores his boundaries.

The circumstance is similar to the one that I wrote about for his brother, but there is a minor difference when it comes to the details. He is a very traumatized individual and if you are going to be in a relationship with him, you are going to constantly need to affirm boundary lines and comfort levels not only for yourself but for him as well. It's going to take a lot of work but if you are committed to doing everything right for each other, it can work out. Where this is going to be a problem is if you ignore boundaries consistently and constantly.

If you blatantly ignore something that he's told you isn't okay, he might let it slide for a little while but it's going to get to a point where it's not okay. A great example of this is if you're the kind of person that likes to consume alcohol recreationally now and again.

It can't be in the house whatsoever because of his trauma and former substance abuse issues.

It will never be okay with him because he never wants to touch the stuff and he doesn't want to smell it or see it. This is a hard line for literally every Saeran. I do not care for people who write him engaging with the stuff because he would never do that and it is disrespectful to him to assume he would.

If you walk all over him and ignore things that you decide don't matter to you because you care more about your comfort than his, it's over. He might not be able to express these things to you at first, but he will grow the confidence to say what needs to be said sooner or later, and if that doesn't happen, God help you. The minute Saeyoung finds out, it’s over.

For this series, look at the period of time when Jupiter is actually transiting that house in your chart, as opposed to just when it’s changing signs.

These transits are meant to highlight areas of growth in your life, ways in which you can utilise Jupiter to bring forth opportunities, fortune and help, to find completion and fulfillment in life.

Jupiter transit 1st house: this is truly the time to reinvent yourself. You might feel like a bit of a newborn, new uncharted paths laid out before you, none of them necessarily easy or straightforward. You could be trying out multiple routines, hobbies, job paths, even friendship groups, whatever relates to how you define yourself is susceptible to be changed, thrown out, upgraded. It can be both fun and challenging, so now you must learn to embrace the discomfort and uncertainty of starting over and eventually find some discipline to ground you through it all. You could also be very focused on your head/face and changing your beauty regimen. It is a time to experiment, find out what you want, and what you will put your own spotlight on for the next cycle of Jupiter.

Jupiter transit 2nd house: get ready to find out new ways to make money, earn your place in the world and find your self worth. Whatever opportunity is the right size for how much you can handle and how you see yourself, Jupiter will provide it to you at this time. What you set your sight on during Jupiter in the 1st, will be granted during Jupiter in the 2nd - or at least, the first real, significant step towards those goals will come to pass. Your level of self esteem is the key to getting what you want. Put yourself in situations that give you a boost of confidence to bring forth those opportunities, and ask for help when you need it. You could be motivated to work extremely hard, and that will bear its fruits.

Jupiter transit 3rd house: the world is asking you to communicate. Keepings things in and repressing who you are is just not the move. You will feel compelled to start letting people know what you truly think and feel, and the toothpaste just can’t go back into the tube - which does not mean communication has to be violent at all, just more honest, more adult. In this process, Jupiter will also gift you with diplomacy and encourage you to further grow your vocabulary and open your mind up to new ways of thinking and relating to people. You might want to take some short trips but it’s frankly not that relevant.

Jupiter transit 4th house: one of my favorites, I must say. This Jupiter will want to give you building blocks of inner security, a foundation to your own personal cathedral if you will, the edifice of your future joy and success...by making you appreciate the present, and its unbound creative potential. The IC is a very underrated, complex and profound part of your chart. The 10th provides what you expected to get, what you consciously strive for and the persona you can use in front of the world; the 4th house gives you what you never even thought you were capable of, or even thought to desire in the first place. Thus the IC gives you back to yourself and the vastness that’s inside of you, not outside. The 4th house shows your Potential, and Jupiter loves being in that motivational speaker role. This is the placement that reminds you to no longer strive so hard; to listen to your inner voice and receive with ease, but without expectation. A lot of people going through this will see an improvement or a smoothing of their relationships with the people they see as a their innermost circle, be it close relatives or friends. For fewer people it also means an uptick in romantic action and prospects - Cancer / 4th house energy is an emotionally magnetic energy and it works in harmony with Jupiter.

a friendly little autumn survival guide ~

I am in no way any type of health professional, I am however a chronically ill person who have survived all the autumns that have yet come my way, I even quite love them! But there is no denying this time of the year can be tough on those of us who already have a little extra to handle, so I figured I might as well share those little things I do to keep my head above water this season!

one. Starting your day ~

I know this advice is old as time itself, but it's not for no reason! How your day starts largely affects the rest of your day, so it's important to do what you can to make it enjoyable.

Personally I like to eat breakfast (I usually have pancake batter in the fridge that I make every three days, but anything from bread to cereal is great, as long as there is some nutrition. I like to have it with a cup of tea and watch a light and fun show, like Bob's Burgers or New Girl, whatever I'm currently watching!

Even if you don't have time for this type of morning, there are tons of little things you can do to get your mood up, like listening to music out loud while getting ready, plan outfits you're excited to wear the night before, or read a few pages of a book you're currently into!

two. Traditions

Autumn might not be the time you think of first when you hear traditions, but that's why it's important to make your own!

Small things like having designated fall movies (mine are LOL and Knives Out!), tea and snacks you only enjoy during these months, and even music you that resonates with the season!

three. Routine

Another old and overused advice, but I think people often make too much out of it!

It doesn't have to mean having your entire day planned out, but having a few things you do every day, at the same time, preferably something you enjoy, can do true wonders!

four. Games and TV

A force not to be underestimated.

Make yourself a list with shows and movies that bring out comfort, joy and nostalgia, and have them ready to be put on whenever you feel like you can really use it!

The same can be said for video games, story based ones can be great fora sense of accomplishment, chill ones are great to get time to roll on while just turning your brain off, or online multiplayer ones can do wonders if you're feeling isolated!

five. Use the outside

Nature in fall is amazing.

Going for walks is amazing, at all times of day, but if that's something you can't do, for any reason (all are valid), there are many other ways to enjoy nature and the outside.

Sitting outside, just for a few minutes can do wonders, like on your balcony or porch, or even sitting by the window, preferably with it open for a while so you truly get that fresh air on your face.

Trust me, it makes a real difference!

six. Journaling

This really changed things up for me.

Just putting some of my thoughts down on a page, writing by hand, and having something to look back on when things get chaotic.

I write down everything from how my day's been and why, to just little lists and memos, and it's amazing fo my adhd, and for my sense of time and productivity.

seven. Video Dairies

This is kinda weird, but hear me out!

Filming little clips trough the day, just a few seconds each, when you do something you enjoy, see something pretty, or do something that makes you feel accomplished in any way, and then put them together at the end of the day.

They don't have to look pretty, but they carry a big comfort for me, they help me keep track of my days when all of them seem to blend into one big blur, and they help me appreciate some of the mundane, but beautiful things in my life.

eight. Activities you've missed

Autumn is a time where we tend to spend a lot of time inside.

This can feel like a bummer to a lot of people, but there is silver linings. Picking up old hobbies and interests can be very rewarding, and can connect you to old feelings, goals and enjoyment!

If you need a refresher, there's tons of good, and free classes available online, especially on youtube!

nine. Keep in touch

Fall can be isolating, and for some of us, just going outside or talking to co-workers or other students isn't really an option.

Online communities can be wonderful for this, there are fandoms and communities for anyone and anything these days.

Connecting with people you already know is also important, and there are loads of ways to do that. Sometimes you have to take the initiative, sure, and that can feel draining, but if you're in a different position than your friends, they might be busier in their day-to-day life than they realize, and as long as these are friends that gets excited to hear from you and often say yes, taking initiative doesn't have to be a bad thing!

ten. Ending your day

Similar to the first point, how you're ending your day is more important than you think.

Winding down and letting yourself relax before bed is so important, as is sleeping in a healthy environment. Fresh air, sheets that get changed regularly, a dark room, and no loud videos or bright phone screens right before you close your eyes are great tips.

I also find a little skincare, some body lotion, and a good brushing of my hair helps me wind down and sleep better, but that's a personal thing, mostly!

Like I said, I am no professional, and these tips are not for everyone. I just wanted to share some of the things that works for me, in hope that maybe one of them could make one person feel a little better!

Autumn Is Healing (Oct 4th)

Flufftober Day Four--Supporting Silly Quirks/Hobbies

drabble for steve rogers x super soldier!reader (see previous or series)

Warnings for vague references to past Hydra abuse WC 1345 Don't need much context except that reader's chosen name at this point is Autumn Rose Barnes.

Steve took you to the Botanical Gardens multiple times because you looked at every single thing for so long. You flagged down employees to ask all sorts of questions about the plants’ native habitats (but far more specific ones than the placards beside them had) and about the soil they grew in. He encouraged your questions until some of the employees became miffed and ran out of information. That’s when he offered to look the rest up online…and…

You didn’t seem to know what that meant really.

A whole other string of dates that turned into—navigating you through the internet. Suddenly, Steve Rogers became the tech wiz of a pair, and it was oddly satisfying.

Ok, so they weren't dates, not yet, but he hoped...one day.

Your gardening time started out, supervised, for an hour daily, and then longer, and now you can go unsupervised with a tracking anklet on. Weirdly, or perhaps not, Steve fought harder for you to get space and time by yourself than you did. You’re just so used to being ordered or surrounded.

At one point, the lab panicked when chemicals went missing, several of which could be used to make explosives. The security cameras caught you taking them, and after Steve had to beg to handle it alone so you wouldn’t spook (if something was really wrong), he found you adjusting the soil levels of those nutrients so that your plants would grow better.

No one thought about that because it was almost winter, but you, you were preparing.

Steve’s heart fluttered a little at the thought that you planned to stay there until at least the spring or summer. You’d already grown some roots.

He’s thrilled, but further essentials for your garden are never procured from the lab.

Your little plot just past the tree line is basically the guaranteed place to find you.

Today, when Steve comes to find you for lunch, he hears you singing.

“Cause I give you a—a—a—all of me, and you give me a—a—a—all of you…”

Your voice is soft and quiet. You can’t hear Steve’s approach, wearing top-of-the-line headphones Peter Parker gave you as a “you’re-awake-now” gift. (You still don’t have a real birthday, and when people randomly present you with things, you have this devastating, quirky smile that paralyzes Steve. He can’t decide whether to wrap you in a bear hug or take a picture to sketch later.)

“Cards on the table, we’re both showing hearts, risking it although it’s hard…”

Even though you bustle around in the dirt and check a trellis, you don’t notice him until a full tune later. Steve imagines maybe you’re thinking of him during those love songs but shakes off the hope as you jump a little.

“Hey,” you squeak, pulling the headphones away and staring at the ground, “you startled me.”

“Didn’t mean to, Rosie. Just wanted to see if you’d like lunch.”

“Oh.” You inventory your progress in the garden with a sweeping gaze. “Ok sure.”

When you get to the common room kitchenette, food spread out buffet-style, Steve casually says “help yourself” and waits.

You stare blankly at the countertop full of different dishes, some hot, some cold, some dessert, fresh fruit, sliced bread, and rolls, but you don’t make any move to choose.

“Take anything you want, doll. Whatever you like,” he tries again, a light hand at your back for encouragement. “It’s alright.”

Your hands are clasped together tight. After a few seconds, you turn to look up at Steve with huge eyes.

“I don’t know,” you whisper. “I don’t know what I like.”

Automatically, Steve smiles. “Sure you d—“ and then he thinks, really thinks.

In your old room, the cell down in interrogation, each meal was brought straight to you. After that, when you were still most comfortable following Bucky around, you ate what he ate, when he ate. When you started having regular meals with others, Steve only remembers a plate being brought to you, and you always, always ate everything on it. He can’t recall a single time you asked for more, nor a moment when you brought up being hungry, not even an instance of you grabbing a snack from the fridge or counter.

In fact, the only thing he’s seen you get for yourself is water, and you use the exact same nondescript cup every single time. You had it down in the cell. You take it to your room. You take it outside. You wash it yourself.

Here he was, just assuming you were a good eater who didn’t like waste.

The reality dawns on Steve: you ate whatever Hydra gave you. You were not allowed a preference. You were not given a choice.

“Can’t you just—“ you cross your arms and curl into yourself “—do it for me?”

Steve’s eyes frown while his lips gently smile.

“Why don’t we both try a tiny bit of everything and see what tastes good?”

You do not look convinced.

He goes incredibly slow. “Take a plate and follow me, yeah?”

He watches you struggle to serve yourself food for the first time in forty years. It’s not a struggle because the spoons and tongs are unwieldy—though salad is always a hassle—and it’s not because any of it is particularly unfamiliar or exotic. You glance repeatedly at his hand when it moves forward, convinced Steve will knock yours away for taking too much. He almost asks at the other end of the counter if you think that’s enough food, but that’s just it—

You wouldn’t know.

As super soldiers, neither of you has any allergies to ingredients. Your iron stomachs can handle just about anything, so this is all about taste.

It takes some coaxing, but after sampling about a quarter of the options on your plate, you finally arrive at something obvious.

That. You do not like that bit there.

A good start. Steve chuckles a little and points at something else for you to try. You obey, spitting it back out almost immediately.

“Bleh,” you garble, sticking out your tongue.

“Hey, now,” Steve starts, laughing harder, “that’s one of my favorites.”

You eat a roll to get the taste out of your mouth.

“Oh well, Bucky doesn’t like tapioca either. He’s given me guff my whole life about it, too.”

“I have dirt that tastes better than that,” you gripe, pointing your fork at the little glob accusingly, so what else does Steve do but reach over and take it all in one swipe.

He exaggerates a moan of pleasure with his mouth full.

“Ew!” You lean back in horror. “You’re disgusting.”

Steve lifts a hand to talk around his bite. “Oh come on, you know you like me,” he blurts before thinking.

He almost chokes on the food when you grin, stuttering and looking straight down at your plate, ripping bits of bread apart, nervous in a different way suddenly.

Steve feels like a ninety-pound asthmatic again. He clears his throat harshly, scrambling to find a less awkward way to do literally anything he would normally do.

“So…”

Steve Rogers, Captain of Smooth-Talking, clearly.

“Fruit is probably a safer choice for you.” He deftly slices up an apple and hands you a piece.

Your thumb brushes across the tip of his middle finger to take it.

“Yeah, probably.” And while you munch on the crisp apple, your fork toys with some ever-safe mac and cheese at the closest corner of your plate. Speaking solidly toward the table, voice quiet but very clear, you add, “you seem to know what I like.”

It’s a day of renewed discoveries because with the way his throat seizes up, he’s going to need an inhaler for the first time in eighty years.

After another beat, you look up again. “I bet I can guess your favorite flower,” you charm slyly, elbows on the table, hands under your chin.

“Not much of a challenge…” Steve mutters, because now his most beloved flower is a rose, and he’s sure it always will be.

A: Affection (How affectionate are they with a s/o?)

Not very, at least when it comes to physical affection. He's particularly against public displays of affection, but you might be able to get a little more out of him in private. Normally the most you'll get from him is an arm around your shoulders, or a similar possessive gesture just so everyone around knows you're taken.

B: Breath (What can their s/o do to take their breath away)

Show off what you're good at. He's particularly impressed by combat abilities, but he'll appreciate any talents you have that could be useful.

C: Cuddle (Do they cuddle? If they do, how and when do they cuddle?)

It depends heavily on his mood. He won't shove you away or anything, but a lot of the time trying to cuddle Hyoga is like trying to cuddle a brick wall. However, sometimes, while falling asleep, or after sex, or if he's just alone with you in a really good mood, he'll put an arm around you and hold you close to him.

D: Dream (What do they dream of doing with their s/o?)

When you became an important part of his life, he essentially inserted you into the dreams he already had. He wants to lead a new world where only the worthy will have the privilege of surviving, and he thinks you not only deserve to be part of that world, he wants you to stay by his side, rule with him, and experience all the perks that come with being the lover of the man in charge.

E: Effort (How much effort do they put into a relationship?)

More than you notice or realize. He doesn't call attention to the effort he puts into the relationship so it can easily be overlooked.

F: Fear (What do they do if their s/o is scared? How do they handle it?)

Are you scared because a person or some other living thing is threatening you? He'll kill it. He's not as good at helping you deal with more abstract or irrational fears. He'll help get you away from whatever's scaring you or distract you from it, but he'll be a little disappointed that you'd let something scare you that can't actually hurt you.

G: Gifts (What type of gifts do they give their s/o? Do they want a gift in return?)

Hyoga isn't too big on gift-giving, but he will give you gifts on special occasions, like if it's your birthday or something. He goes for practical gifts, things you can actually use and might need, like winter clothes or some kind of tool that would help make your hobby or job a little easier. He doesn't see any point to gifts with purely aesthetic value like flowers or gemstones.

H: Hugs (Do they hug their s/o? How often?)

He tolerates being hugged by you, and you alone. Anyone else who tries would be lucky to leave with both their arms intact, but you're special to him so you get to hug him. That doesn't guarantee that he'll hug you back, though.

I: Intimacy (How romantic are they? Do they have problems with intimacy?)

He's not romantic in the traditional sense. The closest he'll get to that is when he kisses you. His kisses aren't loving, exactly, but they are deep, and passionate.

J: Jealous (Do they get jealous? How do they act when jealous?)

Don't try to make Hyoga jealous if you want the other person/people involved to leave alive. He's very possessive and doesn't take kindly in the least bit to the idea of someone trying to take you from him. He might also remind you of who you belong to in a more, intimate manner later on, but this is an SFW chapter we can't go into that here.

K: Kiss (Are they a good kisser? Do they like to kiss? How often do they try to kiss you?)

His kisses are rare, but surprisingly passionate when they do happen. I think his petrification scars would also add a unique twist, they'd definitely affect the way his lips feel against yours.

L: Love (When do they say they love you? How often do they say it? Do they prefer to say it or show it?)

He never says "I love you" out loud. And I don't mean rarely, I mean never. He does show it in his own way, though you kind of have to read between the lines- any time he acts jealous or protective of you, or when he lets you hug him, or even the way he just wants to be near you sometimes- in his head, those little things do more to tell you how he feels than any words ever could.

M: Marriage (Do they want to get married? If so, what kind of ceremony?)

He's not opposed to marriage, but you'll have to be the one to bring it up. He's not really interested in a ceremony or reception though, he'd far prefer whatever the stone world equivalent of a courthouse wedding would be. Either that, or he'll just start calling you his spouse. I mean, who's going to argue with him?

O: Out of the Ordinary (What’s something they don’t normally do for/with their s/o?)

If you can't tell by now, he's not too keen on acting overly affectionate, or doing anything that would make him seem soft or vulnerable, especially in front of other people. He shows his love for you in his own ways that don't involve any of those things, and he just needs you to accept that.

P: Playful (Are they playful in a relationship? If so, how do they play around/mess with their s/o?)

Hyoga will joke around with you some, but his sense of humor is dark enough that you may or may not always recognize them as jokes. If your sense of humor is dark enough to match his, though, oh boy, he will be happy to joke with you more than anyone else even thought he was capable of.

Q: Questions (Do they ask their s/o their opinion on things? Do they share theirs?)

If it's relevant to some field of expertise of yours, sure, he'll ask your opinion on something. Otherwise you'll need to speak for yourself without him prompting you. I can't say he'll always take your thoughts into consideration, but he will appreciate you being willing to stand up for yourself.

R: Random (How spontaneous is their relationship? Do they do things on the spot or plan ahead?)

He actually plans pretty far ahead for most things- he wants to do everything properly, after all, he needs time to prepare. Not that you'd know that. He doesn't tell you about his plans ahead of time so it ends up feeling very spontaneous.

S: Sleep (How do they sleep with their s/o?)

It takes him a while to be comfortable sleeping next to you, though not as long as you might expect (he's pretty confident that even if you did try to attack him in his sleep or something, he'd wake up in time to stop you doing any lasting harm). Once he is, though, he'll sometimes put an arm around you and hold you while you both fall asleep. He also thinks it's cute if you lay your head on his chest like you're using him as a pillow.

T: Trust (How much do they trust their s/o?)

His trust is as hard to gain as it is easy to lose. He's going to need to be really convinced that you don't have any ulterior motives or conflicting loyalties before he can really put his trust in you, and he's definitely still got a plan for if you ever do decide to betray him.

U: Unique (What makes them unique as a s/o?)

His possessiveness towards you and willingness to use violence against other people (but not you- he'll never hurt you) is a rather unique combo. One that could potentially lead to people getting hurt, but certainly a Unique combo.

V: Vulnerable (How long until they can be vulnerable around their s/o? What are they like in this state?)

Hyoga? Vulnerable? Yeah that's gonna be a hard no. You'll see him vulnerable when he's dead.

W: Wild Card (Random domestic headcanon)

He's very protective of you, and hates the idea of you getting hurt. But for that very reason, if you don't already have any combat skills, he's going to want to teach you to fight at some point. He doesn't want you to throw yourself into fights you don't need to, but he knows he can't always be around to protect you so he wants you to be able to defend yourself.

X: X-Ray (What would they do if their s/o got injured?)

If you were injured by another person, that person would have to die immediately. He would take care of you while you recovered, too, and it would really shine through how much he cares about you while he does; for all he tries to play it cool, it's easy to tell he cannot stand the thought of losing you.

Y: Yuck (Do they have any pet peeves about their s/o? Are there any habits that might bother their s/o?)

Hyoga likes for things to be done properly. So, if you're sloppy or unhygienic he will be very annoyed. You might get annoyed with him if you're particularly opposed to violence or something like that.

Z: Zeal (Are they passionate as a s/o? Do they want or like passion?)

He often outwardly acts cold in his relationships, but he has a lot more passion for you than he shows. If he's openly accepted you as his romantic partner, then chances are his feelings run deep- deeper than he'd like to admit. He might not always show it, but he'd do just about anything to keep from losing you. I think that counts as passion.
