Total Slaughter Island (Rescue Rangers) Prologue
I did promise I would post each week and here's the beginning of my brand shiny new Fanfic based on Evaeee-ry's horror AU I used to love Total Drama as a kid and in a way I feel like I'm writing a love letter. Anyway, enjoy the Prologue and let me know you're thoughts.
The fresh ocean breeze left a salty taste in her mouth and nostrils as the bow rocked to and fro. She stared at her reflection in the clear blue water with purpose. With the cloudless sky, orbiting seagulls, and cool breeze, it was a perfect summer day. Perfect for swimming, fishing, and cold creamy treats, but it wasn’t perfect in fact; to her, the last thirty days couldn’t have been more stressful.
She glanced at her associate out of the corner of her eye. The sun always had a way of hitting his handsome features just right—his short black hair, subtle beard, and brown eyes. He was wearing a white T-shirt with a teal green one over it, dark shoes, and brown khakis. his sorry excuse for a signature outfit.
To many, Christopher McLean was the Canadian equivalent of a Hollywood icon; he has appeared in countless movies, was a host for several radio shows, podcasts, and reality TV shows (put a pin in for that last one), and he was handsome to boot, especially when the light hits him just right. But to her, it wasn’t endearing as much as it was annoying.
Dakota Natalie (age 16) knew full well that Chris’s nice guy act was nothing more than that. His quote-on-quote acts of selflessness were just a way to paint himself as a humble, chivalrous, not your average celebrity kind of guy. But below the surface, the countless fangirls and mutual respect were the many ways he stroked his own ego. In actuality, Chris was an egomaniac, narcissistic, and overall insufferable. Any brave fool who tried to call him out on it would be fired on the spot and taken to court for ludicrous charges. Only a fool would work for Chirs, and sadly, Dakota, their captain who was manning the boat, and two junior high schoolers were those fools.
She turned herself fully to get a better look at Chris as he smoked his cigarette. He truly had no care in the world, and that just added to the young girl’s disgust. How could he be so nonchalant about this? Were his staff and actors just that disposable to him? Or maybe he was starting to feel an ounce of regret and couldn’t risk showing that vulnerability. Dakota liked to think it was the second option, but the logical side of her knew what was going on in his twisted brain.
Chris lowred his cigarette and puffed out smoke, all of which hit the brunette square in the face, making her start hacking as she fanned the air as the smoke stung her eyes and lungs.
“Ugh, yet another reason why I shouldn’t start smoking." She prayed that the repulsive stench wouldn’t linger on her clothes. A brown-skinned girl with purple hair in a braid handed her some water, which she gladly drank. Once her coughing fit ended, she gave Chis the best death glare she could muster.
“Watch where you’re blowing that stuff. Are you trying to kill me too?" She spat, a small part of her wanting to throw the TV host overboard.
“Hey, I gave you a warning, but you were so lost in my beauty, I guess you didn’t hear me.” He remarked teasingly. Even in her observation, she didn’t see his lips moving once he hadn’t said anything to her, and he knew she knew that. Barely anything gets past her.
“Pfft as if.” She scuffed, crossing her arms and leaning back on the railing. “I’m just seeing if you regret leaving twenty-one teenagers on a deserted island while you left to save your own hide.”
Chris’s features softened for once, letting his ego deflate as he gave his assistant an affectionate pat on the head. She had the urge to push it away, but moments like this were rare and far between, so she let it slide. (Just this once.)
“Look, as much as I hate admitting my wrongdoings, you have a point.” He sighed, taking another drag from his cigarette, this time blowing in the direction of the wind (and out of her face). “I shouldn’t have left those kids on the island with a crazy killer.” He spoke, “It’s just seeing Ezekiel’s head and severed body parts I panicked. I didn’t know what to do; what was I supposed to do?”
“Uh, bring them with you!” She snapped, banging her fist on the metal railing, startling their other two helpers, who were playing Go Fish using a barrel as a makeshift table. "Call the authorities and let them handle the rest! But no, you had to selfishly leave, giving those kids no way out, all of which could be dead thanks to you. How do we tell their parents?! They’ll sue you from here to Timbuktu; your reputation will be ruined, and you have yourself to blame for this, McLean!" She yelled, giving him another hateful glare.
Chris had to hand it to her; just like Hearther, her looks could kill, and it left him regretting waiting this long to rescue them.
A Hispanic teenager with short brown hair watched the scene unfold. He thanked his lucky stars that he wasn’t chosen for the show. As Chris and Dakota argued back and forth on the morality of their situation, he eyed the purple-haired girl and motioned for her to invite Dakota to play with them.
She nodded in understanding, not wanting this short-term alliance to be the end of them before their search even began. “Hey Dakota!” She spoke, waving to her, “Why don’t you play with us? We need a third player to even the playing ground.”
Dakota thought for a moment, giving a small glance at Chris, wondering if he had any final words on their conversation, but figured it’d be better to just end it now.
"Fine, deal me in.” She agreed, not giving the former host a second glance as she joined the two acquaintances, her expression still stormy, which showed since she didn’t bother to make small talk; the only time she spoke was to ask for a card. Chris would never admit it out loud, but he hated seeing her like this; Dakota’s dad was an old friend of his. Back before Chris was a big-time movie star, he got his start as a radio host. Dakota’s father worked in audiovisual and kept the sound in check and made sure the equipment stayed in perfect condition. It wasn’t long before Chris had himself a small fan base and was asked to audition for a variety of different roles. (His voice and charisma made him very likeable.) It wasn’t until years later that he reconnected with his old friend and offered him a job in the studio; he had a pet project he was secretly working on and wanted the best AV man on board. Plus, hearing he had a wife and daughter was intriguing; he guessed it wouldn’t be bad to have one of them on board too.
It wasn’t long before he met Dakota and took a minor liking to her; she was sweet, patient, and didn’t talk too much, which Chris minded at first, expecting to be bombarded with questions and the story of his life. Only to have that come crashing down when she stated she had never heard of him. Those words felt like a punch to the gut, and he took it personally. If it wasn’t for his busy schedule and reputation, he’d take her to the screening room and show her his filmography. But he had work to do, and being full of yourself doesn’t make for a good first impression, so he let the remark slide, reasoned his work in America wasn’t as popular as it was in his home country, and gave the family the tour, making a mental note to get Dakota familiar with his acting career when he had the time.
It wasn’t long before he developed a sort of uncle/niece, father/daughter relationship with her. For once, Chris’s ego didn’t get the better of him, and he enjoyed the downtime with the Natalie family; he even gave Dakota an internship, which she seemed to enjoy for the most part. He was on top of the world, and nothing was going to stop him. He was going to achieve his life goal of creating and hosting his own reality TV show, and for the moment, it seemed it would come true. Then he had to go and screw it up; in hindsight, he should have prioritized the players safety over ratings and drama. They only gave a brief overview of the filming location and didn’t even explore the whole island, but in his defense, no one pointed out strange happenings, human-shaped shadows, or anything of the nature. They didn’t know a psycho even lurked in the forest. So, naturally, they thought it was safe. Oh, how wrong they were, and now twenty-two minors could be dead, and a crazed murderer was still at large. And it was all his fault; he never should have left them and swept Ezekiel Miller’s death under the rug. He had more than enough money to pay whatever price his parents would have demanded for losing their son. Heck, he has enough money to pay all the legal fees those angry parents would’ve thrown his way.
And yet he left them anyway; his stupid pride and fear of a ruined reputation were what kept him from loading the campers onto his boat and calling authorities. And as if he didn’t feel bad enough, his favorite person can barely look at him. He showed Dakota his true colors, and now their entire relationship has fallen apart. (But little did he know he'd been showing the cracks even before then.)
McLean looked at his secret fiancée, Chef Hatchet. (It wasn’t easy being a bisexual man in this day and age; yet another act of cowardice Chris can add to his growing list.) They both looked at each other with saddened eyes. Hatchet knew how much Dakota’s distance hurt him behind his ego and selfishness. He was a human being with a heart of gold that was corrupted by his growing fame. Chef always knew his lover wasn’t the biggest fan of kids but hoped bonding with one would have Chis finally agree to adopt some with him. When he got out of the war, Chef worked as a daycare attendant and loved those little munchkins and their mischievous nature; Sure, they were a headache and gave him war flashbacks. Yet leaving them left him longing for kids of his own. He expected the longing to last a year or two before moving on, but it never did. Instead, it was replaced with a desire to raise a few with the love of his life.
Chris wasn’t a bad person by any means, but he sure as hell wasn’t a good one either. And yet that’s why Chef loved him; he too had a twisted mind and some deep, dark secrets he never wanted to get out.
If Chis was Dakota’s second father, slash uncle, Hatchet was her third, and he loved that kindhearted teen with all his heart (something he didn’t know he was capable of). Chef mouthed the words, “Give her time; she’ll come back around.” And they pretended their daughter from another mother, and father was going through a rebellious phase and returned his focus on getting them to the island before nightfall.
Chris just nodded, looking at his assistant, who barely said a word as she watched the two helpers. Who tagged along to widen their search.
“Yeah, things will return to normal eventually. All I need to do is save a few kids, show the world I’m not at fault, and everything will be right in the world again.” He thought he was pretty sure of himself. Though no amount of lying could prevent the elephant in the room, assuming the killer claimed more victims, that amount of trauma and worry is enough to fluff up anyone’s mind. Even if therapy is provided, who’s to say the trauma will become too much and someone could turn to unhealthy coping methods or commit suicide? Heck, for all Chris knew, they lost all hope and already did, making this rescue null and void.
“Face it, McLean.” A part of his brain spoke, “Nothing will ever be the same, and you know it. This act of cowardice will forever haunt you and the campers. So, stop playing hero, kiss your career and Dakota goodbye, and enjoy your last days of freedom. Because prison is the only place you’ll be going.”
And for once, Chris listened to the little voice in his head and kept his head down, trying to ignore the stabbing pain in his heart and feeling of dread as Camp Wawanakwa slowly filled the horizon.

You remembered the events of that day like it was yesterday. You felt off, you felt sick and Talia insisted you stay home. She was always worried about you, mainly because you were the only human one. Both of your sisters and your brother inherited the werewolf trait, but somehow you didn't.
Talia spent a great amount of time focused on you. She kept you by her side for most of the time and grew paranoid quickly. You remember smelling something on fire, and you remember everything around you burning. You were trapped, screaming and crying out for anyone, you could hear the cries of your family.
Laura dragged you out, holding you tightly before holding Derek. The two of them had just come back from school for the day. You had burn marks on your legs and your body.
They never disappeared or faded, instead, they remained a scar. You remember all the times Laura had to rush back to Beacon Hills or rush anywhere in the world. Being the alpha always came with a price. Derek was left to raise you, not that he ever minded. Talia always raised all of you to believe that family was the most important thing in the world, and no bond could ever replace that of a family.
You found yourself standing outside the Hale house, a place where you only saw last when you were barely eight. You were now 14, starting high school. Laura’s body was buried, while you stood in front of it, looking down. There were tears in your eyes as you tried to keep yourself together.
You always tried to hide any of your feelings, you didn't want your siblings or anyone to think you were weak because you were human, but that only made things worse. You taught yourself how to lie to a werewolf and how to hide your emotions.
“What are you doing out here?” you felt Derek’s hand on your shoulder as you jumped, wiping your face.
“Sorry, didn't mean to scare you,” he said.
You shook your head, before wrapping your arms around yourself.
“Have you found any lead on this?” you asked.
“Nothing in specific. But you don't need to worry about this,” Derek always tried to give you a normal life.
“I want to help,” you said.
“And I said no. Go to school.” you sighed, before nodding your head.
You sat in the car, putting your headphones on before he started driving.
---
“You can’t just go turning my friends into werewolves!” you tried to hold back your tears as you yelled at Derek.
“I know you’re upset, but-”
“I’m more than upset, Derek! Y-You always try to keep me out of all this supernatural crap, then you turn the only people that have even talked to me into werewolves!” you yelled.
“(Y/N), I told Isaac the truth about everything, and in the end, he made his decision. He was in a bad situation at home, and he wanted a change. I just helped him,” Derek kept his voice calm as you ran your fingers through your hair, frustrated.
Your heart was beating quickly, before you paused, feeling some sense of pain take over you. You felt like your heart was being ripped repeatedly from your chest as you found it hard to breathe.
“(Y/N),” Derek put his hand on your shoulder, looking at you worriedly as you tried to breathe.
“I-It hurts,” you cried shakily.
“Hold on,” he put his arms around you tightly, running to the hospital.
---
“It’s called Coronary artery disease. Our dad had it,” you looked down at the sheets of your bed, while Derek paced around your room.
“How do we heal it?” he asked.
“There’s no cure,” your eyes watered slightly before you wiped the tears away.
“Well what about medication?” he asked.
“Derek…” your voice was shaky as you looked up to him.
“Even with treatment, most people don't survive past the age of twenty. Dad was the exception,”  you said.
“How come there weren't any symptoms? Things like this don't just happen,” he said.
“Sometimes there are no symptoms, and even if there were… with everything going on I would’ve been too stressed to notice,” you said.
He sighed deeply, before walking next to you, holding your hand.
“We’re going to get through this,” he said softly.
“I don't understand why you can't just give me the bite,” you sniffled.
“(Y/N),” he started.
“All of this would go away if I was a werewolf,” you pointed out.
“I don't understand what's… (Y/N) if you’re already weak, the bite can kill you,” Derek started.
You shook your head, pulling your hand away from him.
“I’m not weak,” you spat.
“I didn't mean like that,” he said.
“Just go. Don’t you have to train Isaac or something? There's a full moon tonight,” you said.
“Yeah… get some rest,” he gave you a small hug, while you kept your gaze off of him. You knew he was giving you a pitiful look before he walked out of your room.
---
Your condition only got worse over the past few months. Your body was in pain anytime you tried to do anything. You always tried your hardest to keep it from Derek, but he could smell it, and so could Scott.
“(Y/N)!” Derek put his hands on either sides of your shoulders while you jumped, looking at him fearfully.
“Derek, it’s like 6 in the morning. What do you want?!” you whisper-yelled.
“(Y/N/N) just come downstairs with me. I have a surprise for you,” he said.
You sighed, before nodding, getting out of your bed.
You followed him downstairs as he held your hand. You froze, taking the last step from the stairs as you saw a woman pacing around in front of you.
“Cora,” your voice broke as her head shot up.
“Oh my god,” she ran to you, wrapping her arms around you tightly as you let out a shaky breath, before burying your head into her arms.
“I missed you so much,” she said softly.
“I-I missed you too. Where have you been? How are you here?” you began to bombard her with questions as she laughed softly, walking with you to the couch.
“Okay, here’s everything…”
---
You would never admit to anyone that you were scared to die. Everyone in your life was a werewolf, except for your dad. But you barely remembered him. You were only a baby when he passed.
Supernatural heaven and hell were much different from human heaven and hell, and you didn't know what to expect. You would want your family with you more than anything but you knew that wasn't going to be possible.
“What the hell is wrong with you?!” you exhaled shakily, while Derek continuously yelled at you.
You sat on the couch of the loft, your arms wrapped around yourself. You were freezing, your chest was aching, it felt like burning.
You kept your eyes on the floor, your tears at bay as Derek paced around.
“I cannot stress how unbelievably stupid you were,” you held in a wince, closing your eyes.
“I just wanted to help,” your voice was low, barely half of what it was.
You, Scott, and Stiles searched for the Nemeton, unable to find it. Deaton pointed out that one of the only ways it would be able to be found was for the three of you to sacrifice yourselves in place of Chris Argent, Melissa McCall, and Noah Stilinski.
It only made your condition worse. The pain intensified.
“You could have died, (Y/N),” he shouted.
“So what if I died?!” you yelled back, taking him by surprise.
“At least I would have done something when I died! I-Instead of being useless and weak I would have had a purpose!” you let your tears fall freely as you took a deep breath, rubbing your fingers through your hair frustratedly.
“You don't understand how it feels like to be the only human in a family of werewolves. You all have these powers and you all save people and help people. Everyone treats me and looks at me like I’m made of glass, like I can't do anything and I hate it. Our family died and I was trapped. I couldn't save any of them and Laura ended up dragging my ass out of the fire. She went around the country saving people and helping people. Y-You’re an alpha, Derek. You saved people, you saved Isaac. Everyone here relies on you to save them. Cora is… she always fights and she’s strong and she doesn't have all these stupid problems that makes it hard for her to even breathe,” you stopped yourself, sitting back on the couch before you wrapped your arms around your legs, putting your head on your legs as you curled up into a ball, shaking slightly.
You cried softly, while you felt Derek sit next to you, wrapping his arms around you.
“The reason I’m crazy protective over you is because you mean the world to me and Cora and we don't know what we’d do without you. Why didn't you tell me you were feeling like this?” he asked softly.
You shrugged, before resting your head on his shoulder.
“I’m tired,” your voice broke as he caressed your arm.
He kept holding you, while you laid in his lap. You closed your eyes, letting out a shaky breath as you fell asleep.
---
You began to fight, and you began to care what was happening to you. You started taking your medications, and you tried to keep as safe as you could. But it always felt like you were running the last stretch of your life, and things got much worse after they started getting better.
You were now 19, Derek decided that he wanted a break from going on missions and being a wolf. You left Beacon Hills with him, the two of you going around the country and seeing wonderful things. Occasionally he would let you help with small missions.
Everything seemed to be peaceful, everything was calm. You had an amazing time with Derek, you watched him get married to Braeden. You were more than happy to have her in your life.
“Cora sends her love,” Derek handed you an envelope from your older sister, while you frowned, opening it.
She sent you a picture of her with her new girlfriend. The two of them were in South America, and you saw a small caption.
I said yes
You let out a small laugh, smiling in joy at the card.
“When’s the wedding? Did she send a postcard instead of an actual letter?” you laughed.
“Yeah, you know how she is. The wedding is in January,” your smile fell slightly, while you nodded your head.
“Hey, you’re going to make it to that wedding,” he said, putting his hand on your shoulder.
“Yeah, I know. Come on, Braeden said that you guys have a date night,” you pulled on his arm as he sighed.
“If you need anything, call me, okay?” Derek said.
You nodded softly, a small smile on your face before you sat on your bed, turning on the TV.
---
“Why aren't you fighting anymore?” you heard Derek’s voice break as he held your hand tightly.
Cora stood on the other side of you, stroking your cheek.
“I’ve been fighting for years. It’s okay, Derek,” you said softly.
“No, it's not,” you heard Cora say.
“I’ve done everything I wanted to do,” you said.
And it was true. You watched both of your siblings get married, you watched them both start families. You saved people, and you knew you weren't alone. Not now and definitely not when you die. Everything would be okay.
“I don't want to lose you,” Derek said softly.
You stroked his cheek softly, feeling a tear slip down your face.
“If I’m ready to move on then you should be too,” you said.
“I love you guys,” you cried softly.
The two of them held your hands tightly, while you closed your eyes.
You let out a small exhale, letting go.
“We love you too, (Y/N),” Derek said softly.
Your body went limp, the tears falling down both of their faces as they looked down at your lifeless body.
“We love you.”

Chapter 4
After the eventful day yesterday, I could say that today was extremely boring. For some unknown reason, Stiles and Jackson had not shown up to school. But, after what happened I would have missed too, but I left my bike here and I needed to get it back. I wasn’t planning on staying longer than needed. Once the day was over and the clock hit three, I sped off to my house. I was still tired from yesterday and all I wanted to do was take a big long nap. My body felt heavy, and my head hurt like hell.
But once I got home, I knew that I wouldn't be sleeping like I wanted to.
"What are you doing here, Derek?" I asked as I took off my helmet.
"We need to talk."
"No, we don't. There's nothing to talk about."
"(Y/N), please. You have been avoiding me for almost two weeks now. I need to know why." He sounded desperate.
"And I want to know how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop. Guess we won't be getting any answers today." I tried to walk to the door, but he grabbed my arm. "Let. Me. Go."
"Please, just talk to me. Give me a reason." His stare burned a hole in me. "Please."
"Seriously, Derek. Just leave me alone." He finally let me go, my arm feeling cold missing his touch.
"I won't stop until you talk to me and explain."
"Then get comfortable, sour wolf, you'll be waiting a long time." I entered the house and locked the door, finally letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
I changed into comfortable clothing and started cleaning the house. My parents would be here tomorrow, and I wanted to make sure the house was spotless. Truly, I just needed something to take my mind off Derek. Why did he make me feel this way? Yesterday the only thing I was wondering was why HE was there. And I didn't want to think that way. I didn't want to care about him. Not now, not ever.
After I finished cleaning, I found myself with nothing to do, so I ran upstairs and took a shower. I tried to take all the time in the world but there wasn't enough. I got out and went to bed thinking of the events of yesterday.
I was running through the forest and I felt someone chasing me. No matter how fast I ran, the creature ran faster. Before I knew it my body had collided with the floor and towering above me was the thing that had screeched last night. It looked lost, like it needed to find his purpose. His slit eyes stared down onto mine and his sharp teeth expelled a sort of saliva that trickled down to my face. His tail was moving up and down my legs teasing a cut. I wanted to move but I knew if I did it would try to kill me, so I stayed put. I closed my eyes and awaited what would happen but instead of death, a roar sounded. Startled, the creature screeched, and I screamed back.
I woke up screaming and sweating just 5 minutes before my alarm would make a sound. I got out of my bed and went to take a shower to relieve me from the dream I just had. It sounded just like the screech from two nights ago. My body felt cold, and I had goosebumps everywhere. To calm my nerves, I put the water in a hot temperature and let it ease my muscles and relax my body. I would have maybe called Isaac but, after knowing he's somewhat involved with whatever is going on and him being a douchebag the last few days, I didn't even bother looking up his contact. Maybe it was for the best. After the year ended I could cut ties without any remorse.
Once I was done with my shower I changed into comfortable clothes once again and ran down the stairs. For more than an hour I was enjoying a horror movie on TV when I heard the doorknob rattle.
"Mom! Dad!" I ran and jumped on both.
"Hey, munchkin." My dad ruffled my hair and hugged me.
"Hey, darling. How did your week go?" My mom asked. How could I explain to her something I didn't know?
"Pretty uneventful. Just hanging out around the house, organizing my room and stuff. But, enough about me. Come in, settle down, tell me about your week."
"Honey, why don't you go sit down, we need to talk about something." I looked at my mom weirdly and went to the kitchen to sit down.
"What's going on?" I looked at my parents who were fixing up dinner.
"Munchkin, you know how each year we have to move due to my business. Well, this year is gonna be different."
"We're not moving. Dad, you've said that before. How do I know you're not lying again?"
"We took this week kind of on a trial basis. You’re getting older and can handle bigger responsibilities like taking care of yourself and the house by yourself. So, it seems that we can be away for elongated periods of time and you’ll be just fine. And in any case, your uncle is here to take care of you."
"We will be living here in Beacon Hills and any business that needs to be taken care of we will just leave town for a few days. Are you okay with that?" My mother smiled.
"Okay?! I'm beyond okay!" I jumped up from the stool and hugged my parents. "This is the best news ever!"
"That's great, honey. Now go do something while I start dinner."
When my parents told me the news that we were staying the first person that came to mind was Derek.
I had been avoiding him for such a long time and he did deserve some answers and maybe I could get some from him about what was going on in this freak show of a town. I decided to text him and told him to meet me at his house in the woods. I awaited his answer and rode my bike down the now familiar trail. And just as he had said, there he was, waiting on the front steps of the house.
"Hey, Derek," I said softly. It was hard to swallow my pride after the way I had been acting.
"Hey, (Y/N). Are you finally ready to talk?" He said in a calm and soothing voice. Absolutely the opposite of what I was expecting. I nodded my head and sat down next to him. "So, why have you been avoiding me? Is it something I did?"
"No. I just had to."
"You had to?"
"Look, all my life I have had to pack everything up and leave behind a whole life. Every time the year ends, I need to forget about one life and start another. I have ignored so many people that have only been nice to me because I don't want to grow attached. Cause when I leave, I know I will never see them again and I'd rather be alone than have to pass through that heartache."
"So, once we started growing close you had to cut ties so you could forget about me." I nodded and he let out a sigh. "I get it. But you could've told me."
"Yeah? How? Hey, I'm gonna start to forget you now so I don't have to later. Wouldn't be too sensitive, would it?"
"No, but I would have understood." He looked at me. His eyes held kindness and understandings, things I didn’t deserve for my actions. "But why are you telling me now?"
"My parents told me that we're not leaving this time. We're here for good."
"So that means you'll stop ignoring me?"
"Yes." He smiled and gave me a hug. I hugged him back. "Now that I have given you answers, I need some in return."
"Like?"
"What the hell happened on Thursday?"
"Oh. That." He paused for a second and groaned, but I motioned him to answer me. "Of course. But what I tell you right now must stay between us, and you must give me your word that no one will know that I was the one who told you. Not Scott or Allison, not even your parents."
"Is it that important?"
"Absolutely. Look what's happening here, it's not normal nor human."
"What are you talking about, Derek?" I chuckled.
"Everything around you are not what it seems. There's just no easy way to say this."
"Derek, ballpark it."
"I'm a werewolf, an alpha. And so is Scott, Isaac, Erica, and Boyd, they're betas. Your family, including Allison, are hunters. They kill people like me and the others. That screech you heard yesterday, it came from a Kanima. A walking snake-like creature that kills people, murderers exactly, after paralyzing them with a type of venom it creates." He looked into my eyes trying to search for something. An answer, a sign, anything. It just wasn't there. "(Y/N), please. Say something."
I tried to speak up, but nothing came out. Maybe it was the shock, maybe I wasn't ready to hear this, maybe I didn't want to know that everyone around me was different. Out of this world, sort to speak.  Everything was changing and I couldn't do anything about it. I saw Stiles' jeep coming closer. Out of it came Scott, Allison, and, obviously, Stiles. I got up from the steps, ignoring their calls and Derek calling my name.
"Where are you going, (Y/N)?"
"Home." I turned on the motorcycle and tried to leave but I couldn't. I was frozen, listening to their conversation.
Derek's POV "What's happening?" Stiles asked.
"She's leaving, dimwit. Don't you have eyes?"
"Why would she leave like that?" Allison questioned and directed her sight to me. "What did you do?"
"Nothing. We were just talking."
"What exactly where you guys talking about?" Scott asked.
"Everything."
"As in." I stared at him and raised an eyebrow. "Oh, everything."
"Derek, why the hell would you do that?! It was not in your place to tell her about that."
"Oh, like you would have told her anything. Just like you're telling Lydia. She came to me for answers, and I gave them to her."
"That is none of your business."
"I was not going to continue to lie to her. You do whatever the hell you want but I couldn't go on like that."
"Honestly, Derek. What is your problem?! She's nothing to you so I don't understand why you had to bring her into this twisted world." Allison screamed.
"You know why she has to know. I accept that it's not my place, but I knew you wouldn't say anything and, also, I didn't bring her into this. Your bloodline did. Don't pin this on me." Allison starts fuming and closing the gap between us but stops dead in her tracks when she heard the same thing all of us heard. (Y/N) falling off her bike.
"(Y/N)!!" I ran towards her and picked her up.
"Don't touch her!" Allison screamed.
"You can't tell me what to do." I bumped our shoulders and headed towards the house. "But if you wanna help out you can follow me."
Fuming, Allison followed me into the living room with the trail of puppies on her back. She helped me gently lay down (Y/N) on the couch whilst Scott found some gauze and alcohol for a scratch on her face and hopefully what would wake her.
After cleaning the wound, I held a gauze dripping with alcohol under her nose, but nothing happened.
"This is what I wanted to avoid. She seems so strong, but she is so fragile too. I wanted her to find this all out through her parents. Not some stranger she just met." Allison spoke to Scott.
"I think you underestimate the strength she has. And trust me, I am no stranger to her." I spat at her. "At least I was the only one brave enough to give her the answers she was seeking."
"Derek, honestly I could give two shits about what you think right now. It's your fault she fainted. Again, you had no fucking right."
"Look, Allison, I get it. You don't want her in this world because she's better than you. I get it." I smirked at her and she lunged at me. Scott held her back but I wanted the reaction. I was completely fuming, (Y/N) deserved better than lies.
As she struggled, Stiles’s words brought us back from the fight.
"Guys, she's waking up."
I directed my gaze again to (Y/N) and noticed her eyes fluttering open. "See, she's fine."
"But she wasn't."
"Well, she is now." I gritted my teeth.
(Y/N)'s POV
"Um, guys, yeah. I'm still here stop talking about me as if I were gone."
"Are you okay? How are you feeling?" Allison asked as if I had hurt myself.
"I'm fine. My body is functioning normally, my legs are moving one after the other, my lips are opening and closing, and my tongue is moving, and my arms are flailing. I'm super."
"Take it easy, (Y/N). You just found out a lot of stuff." Scott said.
"Yeah, you two are werewolves." I pointed at him and at Derek, then at Allison. "And you, along with our family, a hunter." I looked at Stiles. "And you're human, like me."
"And?" Derek asked in a harsh tone as if trying to keep up the mean façade he had. It made me angry, but the worry was evident in his eyes.
"It's fine. It's weird but fine." This time I did get on my motorcycle and started it.
"Whoa, where do you think you're going?" Stiles tried to stop me midway.
"Um, as I said before, home."
"You can't drive in this state, especially in a motorcycle. You could crash!"
"Allison, I have never in my life of driving crashed a motorcycle whereas cars, enough to start a small dealership, and some of them weren't even mine. I think I'm good." As I tried to leave, once again I was stopped. This time by Derek.
"I'll take you home."
"Um, you've done enough. I'll take her home." Allison stepped in. They got in each other's faces and I had to step in between them.
"Mom, dad. Stop. I hate when you fight." I snorted. "Sorry, but I'll take myself home."
Before any of them could answer I got on my motorcycle and sped off the same way I came through. When I got home, I was out of breath and dizzy. Everything Derek had said kept replaying in my mind over and over, like an endless loop of unimaginable words that seemed to be part of a dream. The front door of my house seemed so far, and it felt like almost half an hour had passed until I got there. Everything passed by slowly and blurry.
My father called out to me and it felt like I answered but I had no idea what I said. Maybe something in the lines of I'm tired, I'm gonna go to bed. I ascended the stairs one step at a time until I reached the top. It felt like climbing the Great Wall of China, but finally, I made it to my bedroom. Once I entered, I got the scare of my life and everything went back to normal. Derek was in my room.
"What the hell are you doing here, Derek?!" I yelled in a soft whisper.
"I wanted to see if you were really okay. You didn't seem good when you left."
"I'm fine," I said in a cold voice and started looking for my pajamas. He wasn't believing me, and neither was I. "Seriously, Derek. I am."
"You don't seem or sound fine. I heard you when you got here, you were out of breath and you took your time to get up the stairs as if it was the biggest climb of your life." It was evident that he was worried about me but there was nothing to worry about. I may still be in a bit of shock. He just needed to chill. Deep down I knew how scared I was. The world had turned into different stop frames. I could see everything pass me by inch by inch. I had time for everything. I could easily have gone to the other side of the planet and back and not more than a minute could have passed.
I went to the bathroom and changed in hopes that he would leave, even though  I didn’t want him to. He didn't. He looked around my book collection which, I may add, is quite big. My father had some people make a built-in bookcase and desk. It was probably my favorite place in the whole house, the kitchen ended second. Derek had taken one of my favorite books in his hand.
"Pride and Prejudice? Hm, never would have pictured you to read this kind of book."
"There's many things you don't know about me, sour wolf."
"Seriously, you're gonna keep calling me that? Even after you know it's true."
"That makes it more fun." I smiled weakly. "So, werewolf, huh?" He nodded. "And my family is filled with hunters." He nodded again. "And they hunt you."
"(Y/N), if this is too much for you, we can leave you out of it."
"It doesn't matter if you leave me out of it, I'll still be involved. I just don't want anything to change."
"I know. Me either." He said looking down. I walked over to him and hugged him needing some type of warmth. His arms engulfed me, and I felt relieved, completely forgetting how mad I was at him for being a dick not a few hours ago.
"It's just for the first time in my life I thought I cloud have a normal life with my family and new friends. I hoped to settle in a normal town where it's so boring, but you fall in love with the people there and never want to leave. I guess I just wanted normal."
"And I just ruined that." He sighed, his chest rising and falling against my head. "I'm sorry."
"Don't blame yourself. My parents would have brought me into that world soon enough. I think that's why they've had me working out and training for no apparent reason. They were hoping I would join the family business."
"Would you?"
"Huh?" I looked up at him.
"If they asked you to become a hunter, would you?"
"If I hadn't met Isaac, or your pack, or Scott... or you, I probably would have. But I can't be a part of something that hunts innocent creatures just because they believe the whole species is bad." He nodded but stayed quiet.
I went over to my bed in hopes he would stay but he made his way to the window. I don't know what came over me, but I called out to him. "Don't go. Stay, please."
Without another word he turned off the lights and sat next on the chair that was in the corner next to my bed. Finally, I drifted off with the possibility of words flowing from his mouth.
Derek's POV
"I'll never leave you." I whispered to her as she closed her eyes and drifted into sleep. After some time, she started squirming and her heartbeat began to race. I sat next to her, and without waking up, she got closer and snuggled into my chest. I put an arm around her and heard her heartbeat slowly go back to normal.
At around midnight I heard voices arguing downstairs. I didn't mean to overhear but I couldn't help it.
"You went looking for her again, didn't you, Henry?"
"Of course, I did. I'll look for her until the day I die."
"You know you'll never find her. That was the point. You told her to hide, and she did. So much that not even you can find her. I guess she didn't love you enough." She sighed. "And even if you found her, your father would use all his power to kill her."
"At least I loved her more than I'll ever love you, and that's enough for me."
 After that, a long silence.
Then, a door slammed shut.
Moments after I heard footsteps coming up the stairs.I tried my best to move in case they decided to check in with her, but (Y/N)’s grip on me only tightened. I had no escape other than to brace myself for whatever could happen.
My heart started to race faster and faster as the steps became closer to the room.
Step.
Step.
Step.
Her mother was right outside her door, probably debating waking her daughter up to wish her a good night. My breath hitched in my throat when the door handle started to softly turn; the gears in my brain turning, looking for the quickest escape. The door handle had turned completely and I prepared myself to run. But, it was let go. The footsteps receded and ended in the room next to (Y/N)’s. Once I heard her settle in bed I finally relaxed. I curled (Y/N) onto me and wrapped her tight. Something in me just wanted to protect her and let her know she’s not alone. I hadn’t felt this way in a long time and for the first time I wanted to see where it could lead.

TPN - “Dreams Come True”
What better way to cheer up the TPN fandom after the second season’s final episode than with the special exhibition chapter finally being fully translated. I caught glimpses of a few pages here and there over the past couple months but seeing all the children live happily together in the human world in their own little village that they made close to Emma and Alex warms my heart. Of course I would’ve loved if we got to see more of the GP Resistance (because the anime denied us of them) but following the GF kids around the world as they experience their dreams is fair enough. We started the series alongside them so might as well finish strong with them too. I really loved seeing everyone grow up but no matter how old they get or how much time passes, I’ll probably never get used to seeing Emma without her iconic “63194.” It’s a bittersweet feeling for me, but her smiles bring me so much joy and I’m beyond happy that she accepted everyone into her life as they accepted her without her memories.
Tumblr media
I haven’t a clue on how much time passed since everyone found Emma in ch181 to now, but seeing her call out everyone’s names is a little detail that I love so much considering she had no idea who anyone was at first. Trying to remember 60+ names doesn’t seem like an easy task to me. No doubt I was just as shocked as our girl upon learning these mere children bought a goddamn plane! We learn in a couple pages that it’s because of Norman’s company that they can afford it, but still, he’s like 15 or 16 now? He’s still a child! And I’m impressed! Not only at him, but that Oliver and Violet became pilots as well! It’s especially cute when you remember that Lucas gave Oliver a little toy plane during their time at Goldy Pond.
Tumblr media
Speaking of GP, is it just me or does Emma’s current outfit resemble her GP one just a little bit? Sure we have no idea what color scheme this one has but come on, the short jacket, the dark shirt and jeans.. just imagine it! Jemima, Yvette, Alicia and Mark remade Gillian’s original GP outfit sometime before the Grace Field Raid arc (ch137 extra page) so I don’t doubt they could’ve done the same for Emma. Of course that’s just me being completely hopeful and missing the Goldy Pond arc to death but yeah! I’m also so happy to see Chris up and moving again! Seeing him wake up briefly in ch181 was nice but this is so much better. I imagine he and Emma have a lot to catch up on in terms of stories, with him being unconscious since ch105 and Emma not remembering anything.
Tumblr media
But here we go, the original 15 escapees plus Norman, Phil, Sherry, I believe I saw Carol somewhere and a couple other random kiddos ready to see the entire world. They get to accomplish so much.. and in a single day too I believe? At least that’s what Phil and Alicia say a bit later about everyone’s wishes, but aahh what a lucky bunch. Hell, I’ll say we’re lucky readers too to be able to see such a great story. Can’t thank Shirai and Demizu enough y’all. I wish we got to see more of Alex though. He’s such a kind soul but I’m sure he’ll be just fine staying behind with everyone else.
Tumblr media
This entire page where we learn about Norman as a CEO is gold. I still can’t believe this child successfully built up an entire multipurpose company not only to help their search for Emma but also because he didn’t want to live off the Ratri clan. I wish I knew about this last week when writing out Norman’s birthday post because hell yeah this deserves some praise! AND he managed to graduate school as well during all that! Well, by skipping grades which totally makes sense. I mean, if he managed to pass all the Grace Field and Lambda tests effortlessly I’m sure normal human world school was a piece of cake for him. Holy shit dude, keep on impressing me why don’t ya. Not only him but Nigel and Sonya too! I’m not surprised that Vincent helped out but I’m glad those two got a tiny moment to shine as well! Ray is another obvious choice when it comes to helping Norman, as they’re best friends and he’s always been good with machines.. but boy, I can’t take you seriously when you’re just sitting there unamused and eating chips! Hahah I love him so much! And the fact he replies to Norman’s idea with just a simple “kay” is an eternal mood.
Tumblr media
Okay boys aside, can we talk about our fabulous girls now? Because oh my god, they’re so darn beautiful! They’re more fashionable than I’ll ever be and it’s so cute how they drag Emma along to take advantage of the 3-for-1 deal. But our girl pulls off that sporty look so well! (r.i.p. goldy pond outfit ver2.0). I’m not at all surprised that Nat wanted to go see the opera. That's perfect for him and I’d like to think the anime did something similar with that one shot we see of him in the human world. We don’t see him in a theater like this but to me it looks like he’s on the streets of Broadway? At least that’s the vibe I get from it. I’m sure there was something music related on one of those signs.
Tumblr media
I can’t get over how adorable all the children look and how happy they are fulfilling their wishes, even if some of them aren’t as extravagant as others. Like eating a fluffy pancake and a ton of ice cream? We can do that whenever we want. But for these kids, it means everything and they absolutely deserve to experience such simple joys like that after all the harsh nonsense they’ve been through. I also love how Ray continues to be such a great older brother by still looking out for them too. The fact he remains completely unfazed by the haunted house is perfect. This boy has been haunted by his own nightmares and demons his entire life, there’s no way a couple of lousy jump scares are gonna spook him. Though I do find it funny that Alicia and Rossi still manage to get scared while Yvette is having the time of her life. I can’t help but laugh at Thoma’s “Shirai face” as well.
Tumblr media
I find it interesting that out of all the different kinds of exhibits they could’ve shown us while Rossi visits a museum, they give us dinosaurs.. like that seems so silly to me. Y’all have seen several demons in your young lives already and yet dinosaurs manage to amaze you too? God these kids are precious. And then our boy Phil finally gets to see and ride a train! Just look how happy he is! The poor kid can’t even sit still he’s so darn excited and I can’t help but smile with him! Thankfully the anime showed us this too.
Tumblr media
We eventually get to Ray’s wish and guys.. oh my fucking god. Tell me that this is not the absolute best and prettiest smile we get to see from him!! It honestly leaves me speechless okay? Ray never imagined he would ever get to see the outside world, let alone live past the age of 12, and yet here he is, seeing such a beautiful sight such as this, right in front of him instead of from inside a book. You can’t believe how happy and proud of him I am right now. Did you see how ecstatic I was when the anime kept Isabella alive? Multiply that feeling by ten and there ya go. That’s my level of happiness upon seeing my favorite boy smile like THAT! AAHHH!! That panel is gonna live rent free in my head until the end of time. I can’t get over how damn perfect it is. His smile is so pure and how he looks like he’s in complete awe is beautiful. He’s about to burst into tears and I swear I might do the same because I’m making myself emotional over this fantastic boy. Someone hold me.
Tumblr media
No seriously, hold me because we’re about to get into some angst as we move onto to Emma’s wish. We all know that ever since 2039 her one dream was to ride a giraffe once they got outside, so here we are, about ten years later and the animals in question are within reach. Our girl should be totally excited, right? Ha, not quite.
Tumblr media
That wish was something the old Emma wanted, but since demon god had to be such a bastard, this Emma doesn’t know what to think, let alone what to even feel. She hasn’t experienced the same hardships as her family. She hasn’t gone through hell and back while holding onto that one wish that would make all the suffering worth it. The amount of joy everyone else felt upon living out their dreams, she wonders if she would be able to feel it too.
Tumblr media
They brought her here to make her happy, but is this truly want she wants as well? This is old Emma’s wish after all. What about her and what she wants? Could this wish make her just as happy as her old self? She knows her family is only trying to help, but seeing her doubt herself does a number on my heart. Even without her memories, she’s still the same Emma deep down, as she doesn’t want to disappoint her family. She spends so much time worrying about living up to her family’s expectations, to try and be that Emma they all love so dearly.
Tumblr media
Little does she know that she acts the exact same as usual, almost as if nothing has changed when she finally expresses how much she wants to ride a giraffe. And that’s great considering when they first arrived at the giraffes, no on had even mentioned riding them. She came across that feeling all on her own and everyone else can’t help but laugh and feel relieved. Her mind may have forgotten but her heart remembers everything. There is no “old Emma” and “new Emma” to her family, just “Emma” and words can’t express how wholesome that is because they love her regardless. All that matters to them is Emma’s happiness because if anyone deserves to feel and experience that, it’s her.
Tumblr media
I just made myself tear up, damn it. I started this series with season one okay? I heard about this precious girl’s dream within the first minute of the first episode and here I am, a little bit over two years later, finally reading about it coming true and seeing that bright as hell smile on her face. Do you know how amazing it is to come full circle like that? My heart feels so full right now. I’m beyond proud of her and love her to death. Say what you want but I believe this to be the true manga ending in my eyes.
Tumblr media
(damn this series for always getting me emotional)

Loving Dodger
Pairing: Chris Evans x Reader
Summary: Your journey of overcoming your fear of dogs to loving Dodger.
Words: 3.6k
Warning: mention of smut, language. Loads of fluff
A/N: I obviously don’t know Chris Evans, this is just a story.
MASTERLIST
+++++
Everyone was packing up and you rushed to get things in order. Your coffee had gone cold hours ago, and some poor intern would be responsible for throwing it away from wherever you had left it. Working in the film industry could be rough, and this was just backstage. You went through the set, automatically putting things in order as you moved and waved goodbye to others. Stuffing the last of your things in your overstuffed bag, you left to find a taxi. You were glad you weren’t working tomorrow morning, for you planned to have a long hot shower and an undisturbed sleep after a long time.
It was late at night and no taxis came your way. You hated taking an Uber this late, but desperate times call for desperate measures. You had only just taken out your phone when a car stopped in front of you. The driver’s side door opened, and a smiling Chris Evans greeted you.
“Can I give you a ride milady?” He asked and you snorted.
“You have the worst English accent. If you do that in London, they’ll smell the imposter in you” You said. “And it’s cool, I’m calling an uber.”
Chris frowned, leaning against the door with arms spread, his few sizes short, too tight shirt stretching over his broad frame. You felt like he needed to be arrested for the cardiac arrests he may cause.
“At this time, and even when a handsome, chivalrous man is offering a safe ride? You wound me sweetheart.” He grabbed his left boob, faking a pained expression and you sighed.
“God, you’re awful Chris. You sure it’s okay, a little out of your way isn’t it?”
“Y/n, there is not one place in the world I wouldn’t go with you”
You let your hair form a curtain to hide your blush, clearing your throat awkwardly and stepping in his car. His car smelled like his cologne, the heady scent sticking to your clammy skin. You went for the radio, soft country music running in the background.
“So, what are you doing this weekend?” Chris asked.
“I live a boring life man. I’m probably gonna clean my shit and stock my kitchen with as much instant food as I can.”
“Well, if you want, we can go somewhere. Make your boring weekend interesting.” Chris suggested, glancing at you as he maneuvered around the traffic. You fidgeted, playing with your fingers as you avoided his eyes. Saying no to him was getting difficult every time. You wished the radio was turned up louder so this conversation could be avoided.
“Oh, you know me. I like to lay in, be a lazy girl.” You tried to say nonchalantly, and Chris’s hands clenched around the wheel. You stared out the window, watching the city breeze past as things got awkward inside. You didn’t speak until he pulled up in front of your home, and you reached for the door before the car even stopped, a farewell on your tongue when you were pulled back by the seatbelt.
You blushed, hands frantically trying to undo the clasp and Chris’s hands covered yours, releasing you. You breathed deeply as he was leaning into you, face just a few inches away. You could count his lashes this close, see the exact shape of that mole on his cheek and feel his breath on you. You pulled back, quickly opening the door and almost stepping out before you were pulled back again, this time by Chris’s hand grabbing your upper arm. He tugged you back into your seat and came close enough to touch your nose with his.
“You know you can’t keep blowing me off,” He muttered. His hand tucked your hair behind your ear, blue eyes intently looking in yours. “I can’t take your no because I know you don’t mean it. Why do you keep running away?”
You gulped uneasily, wiggling out of his grip and getting out of the car. He was still looking at you, waiting for an answer. You shook your head slightly, feet kicking the ground at your feet.
“Thank you for the ride Chris. Drive safe.”
The door swung shut behind you and you walked away without another look, hiding away inside your home and trying to calm your beating heart.
+++++
You remembered disabling your alarm last night, so what the hell was that awful noise. Burrowing your head in your pillow, you tried to go back to sleep until the pounding continued. You growled, ready to rip out a new one to whoever was stupid enough to disturb your sleep. Uncaring of your attire, the t-shirt barely reaching midthigh over your panties you marched to your door, a scowl on your face.
You ripped open your door, already mid-triad before noticing who it was.
“Look, you need to shut the hell up. I work 14 hours a day, barely eat and sleep and you trying to break my door down is not –”
Chris smiled at you, amusement glittering in his eyes which raked over your bare legs. Your mouth parted for an embarrassingly long amount of time before you remembered you bed hair, morning breath (more like mourning breath) and the ratty t-shirt with holes. You pulled down on the hem, aware that you weren’t wearing a bra and it was too late to hide.
“What the hell are you doing here at this ungodly hour?” You asked Chris and he held up his hands to show he had food.
“Ungodly? Its 10 am miss, and your loyal subject is here to feed you.”
He moved past you into your house without invite, putting down the paper bag which had grease stains on it. Despite your shock and anger, your stomach grumbled, and you shut the door behind you. You rolled your eyes at his cheek, but that stuff looked too tempting to say no to.
“Since you’ve decided to intrude on my morning, make yourself useful and put on some coffee. I’m gonna change” You said and walked towards your bedroom.
“Like the way you look!” Chris shouted from behind you and you flipped him off without looking, ignoring his chuckle.
Why the hell was he here? After the way you guys had left things last night, you would have thought he would be too pissed to talk to you. You sighed as you pulled on a bra and something other than a 10-year-old t-shirt. You found him setting the table, laying down breakfast as the smell of coffee filled the kitchen. He smiled when he saw you had pulled your hair into a messy bun and winked at you.
“Here, larger portion for you.” He said handing you a plate of your favorite food. You took it, feeling like a guest in your own home as he served and poured you a mug of coffee, made perfectly as you like it. You both ate in silence for a while, the sound of cutlery the only thing to be heard. Finally, you pinned him with a stare, pushing away your plate.
“Chris, what are you doing here? Seriously.”
He chewed the morsel in his mouth before leaning his hands on the table and clasping his hands. It felt like an interview and you wished you had something better on, like an armor, to deal with whatever he was going to say.
“Well, if you want an honest answer here, I’d say I am here because I wanted to see you. I didn’t want you having some instant meal for the 10th time this week, so I got you some breakfast.”
You looked away from him, chewing on your lip. You wished he wouldn’t be so sweet. If he were a sleazy bastard, saying no to him would be so easy. Yet, here he was getting you food and being all domestic, making your life more difficult.
“Look, I appreciate this but I – Chris, we can’t happen. You need to stop this.”
It seemed like he was contemplating you, trying to guess what went on in that head of yours. He reached across to take your hand in his, lacing your fingers and stroked.
“I can’t stop. I tried, trust me I did. I can’t. I see you on the set and I want to whisk you away in the vanity away from prying eyes. I see you anywhere at all, with any other man I want to punch his face. Y/n don’t tell me I am imagining things. I’ve seen the way you look at me. You want me too, don’t you?”
The chair made a screeching noise as you snatched your hand away from his and got up, pacing the room. You were shaking your head, trying to think of a way to make him understand.
“Chris, we won’t work, you and me.”
“Why the fuck not? How can you even know if you won’t give us a chance? And I am the one who’s supposed to have fucking commitment issues.”
You wrung your hands, sitting in front of him again. He looked angry and frustrated, not knowing how much you wanted to say yes. But you knew in your heart of hearts that a very basic thing will never let you be.
“I won’t give it a chance because we’re different. We like different things, and well, sometimes they can be too much to compromise.”
“Like what, huh?”
You looked down in your lap, playing with the lint that stuck to your leggings. It was an embarrassing thing to admit, but you knew it would hold a lot of importance to this relationship. Taking a sharp breath, you told him the truth.
“I don’t like dogs. In fact, they terrify me.”
Chris lurched back as if it was the last thing he expected to come from you. He probably expected some tale of family drama or relationship trauma, but your reasons were simpler. You had cynophobia, the fear of dogs. You couldn’t be in the same room with them without getting shit scared. Chris blinked at you, like it was the dumbest thing you could have said.
“Excuse me? You refuse to go out with me because you don’t like dogs?”
You gave him a critical look, raising a brow.
“Have you seen your social media accounts? You love Dodger probably more than you love any human being. You’re a self-proclaimed ‘huge dog guy’. And me…I can’t be in the same room with one. We won’t work out Chris, and I would rather save myself the heartbreak.”
This was clearly not something Chris was prepared for. He looked baffled, not knowing what to say. You wished it were a small thing, but it wasn’t. Everyone who knew Chris could tell how much he loved dogs. His Instagram page was basically a Dodger fan page. He had the name tattooed on his body. You could never work out simply because Chris would always be choosing between you and his doggo, and you would be too busy being scared of him to enjoy your time with Chris.
He released a deep breath, straightening his shoulders.
“We’ll make it happen. A lot of people fear things, and they get over it. It can work out. When you meet Dodger, you’ll forget you’d ever been scared of a dog. He’s a good boy, trust me.”
“Chris” You said shaking your head, “You don’t understand. I like dogs but only from afar. They terrify the living daylights out of me. I just – why don’t you understand? This is already so embarrassing”
He got up and sat next to you, his hand on your shoulder. “Look, just give me one chance. I know we can be great, okay? One chance is all I am asking. If it gets too much, we end it. I promise, it will be like nothing ever happened.”
You didn’t want to believe him. You shouldn’t have, but he was the man you’d been crushing on for nearly a year now. He was smart and kind and funny, he worked for the good causes and god he was such a treat to look at. You should have said no, had your coffee and left it at that. But there was only so many times you can say no to Chris Evans, especially when he’s pursuing you like the proverbial hound of hell.
“One chance Chris.”
+++++
This was a bad idea and you were regretting it already. You were practically hiding behind Chris, bunching his shirt under both hands as your head peeked over his large body. You were not ready to meet Dodger, at least not without a bomb suit.
“Hey, relax, he’s a right love. I’ve been showing him your pictures on my phone and he loves you already.” Chris tried to placate you and you replied with a pathetic whimper.
The door had barely opened before the golden brown doggo ran towards you and you squeaked. He bounded on Chris and you, Chris laughing and rubbing him behind the ear while you backed away. Dodger kept trying to come towards you and Chris had to hold him back by the collar while offering you a hand.
“Come on Y/n, he doesn’t bite. He’s a cutie.” Chris called but you shook your head, your knees vibrating. You edged away, taking deep gulps of breath as fear overtook you. It was pathetic really how scared you were since Dodger wasn’t even a huge dog, but it still took every last bit of your willpower to not just run away.
“Chris I can’t. Please.” You begged and he must have heard the fear in your voice. He pulled Dodger inside the house, the barks getting fainter as they moved in and you stayed frozen in your track. He came out after a couple minutes and immediately took your shoulders, rubbing softly.
“Hey, hey look at me. He’s inside now, okay?”
You nodded and buried your head in his chest, feeling more embarrassed than ever. Chris hugged you, shushing you gently.
“I am so sorry Chris, I just can’t. I told you this won’t work” You said, and Chris pulled away to look in your eyes. His blue eyes were determined as they stared in yours and you blinked up at him with watery eyes.
“No, it’s my fault. I shouldn’t have sprung this up on you like this. We’ll start small, okay?” He urged and you bit your lip, uncertain. Chris rubbed his nose to yours, pressing a kiss on your lips and both your cheeks. “Please Y/n, just give me more time. We’ll work it out.”
You wanted it to work out too. The dates you had gone on had been nothing short of amazing. When you were with Chris you laughed like never before, the conversation so unrestrained. You didn’t worry about hiding your flaws, feeling so comfortable in his company. And then there was the sex. It was so good. In fact, it was spectacular.
“I don’t know how we’ll make it work.” You admitted softly and Chris smiled at you, cupping your face in his huge hands.
“We’ll do it together baby. Don’t give up on us just yet please.” You pressed your forehead to his and breathed in his scent, letting it wash over you. Nodding your affirmation, you let him lead you inside his house, Dodger locked inside the bedroom.
“I feel terrible for locking him in.” You said and you did. Just because dogs scare you doesn’t mean you hate them. You just feared going near them. You watched those cute puppy videos on YouTube to help relax yourself, only you didn’t want any dogs around you.
“Don’t worry about him. He’s with his stuffed lion.”
You cuddled on the couch, watching some 90s movie and you wished with everything that this would somehow work out.
+++++
It took you a while to decide if this was heaven or hell. You were awing and yelping simultaneously, and Chris laughed from behind you, his hands wrapped around your waist. Nuzzling his nose in your neck, he bit your ear softly uncaring of the people around you.
“Oh my god” You must have said this a dozen times already, but you were simply in awe. When Chris said you’ll start small you didn’t think he meant literally. In front of you were some of the cutest, softest, smallest puppies and you finally decided this was heaven.
“I figured we’ll begin from the beginning. Go up slowly, get you used to being around canines.” He bit you again as he said that and you giggled. Turning your head, you captured his lips in an elated kiss, touched that he was going to go through this with you.
“This is amazing.” You said and the corners of his eyes crinkled with his smile. He led you to the corner where a small black puppy with spots on his toes was wagging his tail at you. You awed, not afraid of him in the least.
“You wanna tell me about your phobia a little?” Chris asked as you cradled the pup in the crook of your elbow, the little darling loving your finger running over his small belly.
“It’s kinda silly but when I was four, I was chased by my neighbor’s dog. I ran like hell and it almost bit me before they got it back in control. I’ve feared them ever since.”
Chris hummed, kissing the pup in his own hands and giving you a soft smile.
“This helps?”
“This helps.” You agreed.
Chris and you must have petted a dozen puppies, holding them in your hands, cooing to them and kissing their small noses. You clicked pictures and fed them from your hands, a cacophony of kissy noises and good boys flowing from you both.
“I’m gonna have to hide these pics or Dodger is gonna get jealous.” Chris said and you snorted, snuggling into his side. It was a beautiful day at the shelter, and you were surprised at how fun it was. Tired as you were, you were also acutely aware of Chris’s hand creeping up your thigh in the car. You looked out the window, suppressing your smile.
“So, we made some progress today” He said, and you hummed. “And you had a lot of fun” You hummed again.
Chris pulled you to him roughly by your collar, his tongue poking out to just lick at your bottom lip.
“I think I deserve a reward…” He trailed off and you finally let a smile spread on your lips.
“I think you do Mr. Evans” You agreed and pressed your lips over his, hoping the driver will overlook the noises in the back.
+++++
Baby steps worked, and over the course of the next few weeks you got more comfortable around dogs. You spent a lot of time with pups of all breeds, slowly moving on to the bigger dogs. It wasn’t all easy, few visits ended in tears and hopelessness, but Chris stayed by your side. He let you set the pace, accompanying you every time and praising you for every obstacle you crossed. He didn’t mind spending most of the time at your place and waved off your apologies about Dodger.
“We’re doing this for him too, so he can get to know you better. It’s okay with me.” He assured you after a passionate round of love making. You traced Dodger’s name on his bare chest, finger roving over the other scattered tattoos. He loved it when you traced them with your tongue and bit his nipples.
“I think I’d like to try another visit with him.” You finally admitted, peeking up at him from under your lashes. Chris grinned, pulling you closer.
“Are you sure? I don’t mind waiting.”
“I think I’m ready Chris. I want to meet the good boy who’s sharing your heart with me.”
Rolling over you, Chris pressed kisses over your collar bones and chest, hands squeezing your curves. Your lips mashed together in a sloppy kiss and you felt him smile against you.
“There is no one else I’d rather give my heart to other than you and him.”
+++++
This time when the door opened you were not hiding behind Chris. You held a soft chew toy in your hand, a gift and an apology. Dodger ran towards Chris, tail wagging aggressively as he licked and nipped at every exposed bit of skin he could find. Chris giggled as he rubbed and scratched his baby, and you were very proud of not making any distressed sound or running away. When Dodger finally turned to you, you tentatively came towards him with the toy.
“Hello Dodger, you sweet sweet boy.” You greeted. You’d been with dogs almost as big as him now and felt little apprehension touching his soft coat. He whined under your touch, leaning into you and rubbing against your legs. Chris joined you, his hand finding yours in Dodger’s fur.
“Look buddy, mummy is ready to meet you. You like her, eh?”
Dodger barked in agreement, rolling over for belly rubs while you stared at Chris coyly.
“Mummy eh?” You teased and Chris blushed, kissing you softly.
“Well, only if you’ll have Dodger’s dad.” He said.
You playfully sat down on the floor, letting the cutie climb on your lap and scratching behind his ears that made him purr in satisfaction.
“What do you say Dodge, should I take him?” You asked and he wagged his tail, rolling around in your lap. You gazed lovingly at Chris, softly touching his bearded face.
“Well, only because Dodger says so.”

You Saved Me - Derek Hale x fem!reader part 5
We back at it again because I love this right now
----------------
After smuggling Derek into my room via the window, the interrogation began. He sat in my computer chair, leaning over, resting his arms on his legs.
“Uh, first I want to say thank you for saving me again.” I began. He looked up and nodded.
“You’re welcome.”
“And uh, you’re a werewolf.” I said, starting to pace back and forth, “Is Scott a werewolf?”
“He is.”
“Did you bite him?” I paused, crossing my arms over my chest.
“No, I’m an omega. Only Alphas can give people the gift.” He said. You call that a gift? I’d like a receipt.
“Is there a cure?”
“There’s a legend that says if the beta, one of the pack, kills the alpha then he will become human again. But I don’t even know if that’s true.” He explained. That meant Scott’s odds were not looking good and this werewolf thing is permanent.
“Were you bitten by the alpha?” I asked, sitting down on the edge of my bed.
“No, I was born with it. My family was a pack. After…” He paused, “After the fire, my older sister became the alpha since she had been trained by my mother to be the new matriarch. I came back here because I hadn’t heard from her. Now we know why.”
“I’m so sorry.” I looked down at my socks. These questions were making him bring up what must have been incredibly painful memories and bringing up the fresh pain of the murder of his sister.
“The thing following you in the woods was the new alpha. He killed her for her alpha spark.”
“Alpha spark?”
“It can transform a beta, or an omega into an alpha. It’s taken when the alpha is killed by either of those. Or it can be transferred willingly.” This was a little more complicated than I thought. I knew that there were hierarchies in wolves, but who knew it translated to werewolves?
“Why is the alpha coming after me? You said it was following me.”
He leaned back in the chair, “Well, he’s either looking to eat you. Or he wanted to turn you.” At my shocked expression he added, “Probably the latter. He’s a new alpha so he’s trying to start a pack, probably why he started with Scott. Speaking of, you need to tell him to stop seeing Allison.”
“Why, what’s wrong with Allison?”
“Her family are a very old lineage of werewolf hunters.” He said seriously, “Chris Argent and I have an unspoken agreement. No deaths, I don’t end up dead. I can’t say the same for the rest of his family.” He was something in his eyes, a pain that couldn’t be described.
“I know I said I wanted answers but if its too painful-”
“It’s fine.” He interrupted. I raised my eyebrows at him.
“Derek, I understand what it’s like to lose your family in one day. It’s the most awful feeling imaginable. Because after the pain is the loneliness. I got lucky that I have Uncle Noah and Stiles. You had your sister and now she’s gone and you’re the only one left.” He chewed the inside of his cheek.
“It’s not just me. I have an uncle in a vegetative state at Beacon Hills long-term facility. And my sister Cora, I haven’t seen her since the fire. I think she’s gone too, but there’s always the chance that she’s still out there. She just doesn’t want anything to do with me.” He looked down at his hands. He looked so vulnerable right now, something I never expected from him. He had so many walls up. There were still things he was hiding about the Argents, but pushing him now didn’t seem right.
I gave him a small smile and kneeled down in front of him. Slowly, I reached for his hands, giving him plenty of time to pull away, but he let me touch him. I held his hands in mine, rubbing my thumbs over his knuckles. I titled my head to meet his eyes that he was hiding.
“Hey, grief is hard. Especially since we lost our families in the same way. Let’s help each other. Would that be okay?” I asked softly. He met my eyes finally, his stern expression was more loose than usual. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
“I want to. But I can’t.”
The sound of the door opened behind us, and queue Stiles meltdown. And with the position I was in, on my knees in front of Derek Hale, maybe it was a little justified.
“What is going on?” He asked. I quickly got to my feet.
“Uh, Derek was just leaving. Just a quick little visit.” I took Derek by the arm, brought him out of the chair and ushered him to the window, where he left without another word.
“WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?” Stiles shouted.
“Will you keep it down?” I whispered loudly.
“Oh you can cut the crap, Dad isn’t here. Why the hell is a wanted criminal in my house?!”
I crossed my arms and shrugged innocently, “We were just talking.”
“Why was he covered in blood?” He pointed to the dry blood that was on the arm of my chair. I sighed and rubbed my temples.
“Okay, I’ll tell you. But you have to promise not to tell your dad.” I pleaded. He crossed his arms and looked away from me.
“As an upstanding citizen of Beacon Hills-”
“You cut the crap, Stiles. You have more priors than he does.”
“I wasn’t questioned about the murder of my sister.” He shot.
“He was acquitted of all changes due to his alibi.” I shot back.
He grumbled and shook his hands, “Fine, fine. Tell me.”
“Okay, so, Michael found me in the woods-”
“Michael-” He started.
“Hey, no interrupting!” He held his hands up in surrender, motioning for me to go on, “He found me in the woods and was probably going to commit a bunch of unsavory things on me when Derek showed up because the night before when you and Scott were arguing, I went to his house to get some answers of my own, he told me to go home so I did.” I paused and took a drink out of the glass of water on my nightstand, then continued, “Anyway, when Derek showed up he killed Michael because Derek is a werewolf.” I rushed out.
“A what?!” He shouted.
“Oh don’t act so surprised, you know Scott is a werewolf.”
He stepped back, pretending to be shocked, “Scott? A werewolf.” Clearly trying to cover for his friend, but no dice. Stiles was a terrible liar.
“Derek told me. And he also told me that Allison’s family are werewolf hunters. But I assumed you already knew that because you don’t look surprised at all.”
“Well, ahhh, her last name does mean silver in French.”  He added. I shook my head, holding my pinkie out.
“Pinkie swear me you won’t tell Uncle Noah.” He sighed, tapping his foot, “Promise!” He grumbled, throwing his hands up in the air, but eventually he wrapped his pinkie around mine.
“Fine.” He paused, still holding my pinkie, his grip on my finger tightened, holding me there, “But you have to swear not to get romantically involved!” He pulled his pinkie away. I gasped loudly, staring between my pinkie and his.
“You can’t do that.”
He smirked, “I just did.”
“I am not romantically involved with Derek.” I blushed.
“Coulda fooled me.” He scoffed. I huffed.
“Okay, time for you to go. Goodnight Stiles.” I pushed him out the door and slammed it behind me. I leaned against the door and sighed. I wasn’t romantically involved with Derek, we just had a connection.
Maybe I was romantically involved. But could you blame me, he was my knight in shining armor twice. That was attractive. And he was far from ugly.
The next morning, I went downstairs and was surprised to see Uncle Noah in the kitchen making breakfast.
“Morning, I didn’t hear you come in last night.” I said, grabbing a water bottle from the fridge.
“That’s because,” He yawned, “I came in this morning.” He motioned to the table, “Sit, sit. Let me make you breakfast.” I sat at the table, pulling an apple out of the basket on the table. He placed a plate of eggs and toast in front of me.
I smiled up at him, “Thanks, Uncle Noah.” He nodded, sitting down with his own plate before eating. The few minutes were in silence, just chewing. I decided I should at least talk, make it seem like I was still scared that Michael would come back.
“I know you don’t want to bring up work at home, but is there any news on Michael?” He sighed through his nose, swallowing his bite of food.
“It’s okay. And I wish I had better news, but we still haven’t found anything.” He said. I nodded.
“It’s okay, I know you’ll find him.” Find his body? Maybe. But he was very much dead. The only thing I’m worried about now in the woods was the alpha werewolf and whether he wanted to make me lunch or one of them.
I was making my way out to get groceries when I saw Stiles Jeep whipping through the neighborhood. Being curious, I decided to follow, where I was led to Dr. Deaton’s office, the local veterinarian that Scott worked for.
“Is there a reason you’re driving like a bat outta hell?” I called, seeing Stiles get out.
“Oh great, you can help me carry him.” Stiles said, opening the back of the Jeep where Derek sat. He was pale, his eyes looked sunken in, and there was blood dripping down his hand.
“Jesus Christ.” I said, carefully helping Derek out of the Jeep. He grunted while Stiles and I helped him inside after Stiles unlocked the door with the spare key. Scott had gone to go find the bullet so that Derek could cure himself, he would have to steal from Kate Argent.
 We brought him back into the operating area. I’m sure Stiles was chomping at the bit not to say something. Derek explained that he had been on the trail of the alpha when a hunter saw and shot him.
Stiles looked at his phone then Derek, “Does Northern Blue Monkshood mean anything to you?”
Derek was leaning on the operating table, “It’s a rare form of wolfsbane. He has to bring me the bullet.”
“Why?”
Derek looked from me to Stiles, “Cause I’m gonna die without it.” He said breathlessly. He took his jacket, then his shirt off to reveal the bullet wound in his arm which was bleeding, but the strangest thing was his veins around the wound were purple and crawling up his arm. I guess Monkshood must be deadly to werewolves, but then again, it is wolfsbane. Derek looked manic, he was getting warmer and sweat was dripping off of him in buckets. He looked around and grabbed an amputation saw.  I grabbed a bowl filled with water and grabbed a couple paper towels. I wet the paper towels, and moving to touch his wounded arm, he pulled it away.
“Okay, if the Blue monkshood doesn’t kill you, an infection will. Let me help you.” I narrowed my eyes. He glared, his nostrils flared but he held his arm out. I lightly dabbed at it, careful not to apply too much pressure.
Stiles gagged when he saw it, prompting me to elbow his side, “Okay, you know, that really doesn’t look like anything, some echinacea and a good night’s sleep couldn’t take care of…?”
Derek swallowed thickly, “When the infection reaches my heart, it’ll kill me.”
“Positivity” just isn’t in your vocabulary, is it?”
“Stiles!” I scolded.
“If he doesn’t get here with the bullet in time– last resort.” Derek grabbed an amputation saw from the table.
“Which is…?” Stiles asked.
“You’re gonna cut off my arm.” He rushed his words out, they slightly slurred together.
“Okay okay.” I grabbed the saw from his grasp and set it back down on a metal tray, “Let’s just be a little optimistic. Scott’s going to be here soon.” He glared at me, causing me to raise my hands in surrender. He grabbed a rubber tourniquet and tied it tightly around his arm with his teeth to stop any further movement.
Stiles held his arms out, “Oh, my God. What if you bleed to death?”
“It’ll heal if it works.”
“If it works?!” I snapped, not believing that any of this was happening still.
Stiles sight, “Ugh. Look - I don’t know if I can do this.”
“Why not?”
“Well, because of the cutting through the flesh, the sawing of the bone, and especially the blood!”
“You’re not afraid of blood. You don’t faint.” I said, confused.
“No, but I might at the sight of a chopped - off arm!”
“All right, fine. How about this? Either you cut off my arm, or I’m gonna cut off your head.” Derek glared.
“Derek.” I scolded.
Stiles shook his head, “Okay, you know what, I'm so not buying your threats any-” Derek grabbed him by the shirt collar and lifted him up, “Oh, my God. Okay. All right, bought, sold. Totally. I’ll do it. I’ll do it.” Derek dropped him and Stiles looked back at his arm, “What? What are you doing? Holy God, what the hell is that?” His arm was oozing from the wound.
“It’s my body..” Derek breathed out, “Trying to heal itself.”
“Well, it’s not doing a very good job of it.” Stiles avoided his arm once again.
Derek grabbed the saw, holding it out to Stiles, “Now. You gotta do it now.”
“Look, honestly, I don’t think I can.”
“Just do it!” He shouted.
Stiles took the saw, “Oh, my God. Okay, okay. Oh, my God. All right, here we go!”
“I can’t watch this.” I covered my eyes with one of my hands, the other was on Derek’s uninjured arm. But like an angel’s voice, we heard Scott yelling for Stiles.
“Scott?” Stiles asked, looking at the frazzled teen who just ran through the clinic.  I uncovered my eyes, still seeing Stiles with the saw pressed to Derek’s arm.
“What the hell are you doing?” Scott asked, exasperated.
Stiles dropped the saw, “Oh, you just prevented a lifetime of nightmares.”
Derek stood up more without the help of the table but he was starting to wobble, “Did you get it?”
“What are you gonna do with it?” Stiles asked.
Derek swallowed thickly, “I’m gonna…I’m gonna…” His eyes fluttered shut, his knees buckled and he fell to the floor.
“Derek!” I shouted, grabbing his torso before he broke his skull open on the floor. When Derek had dropped, it had knocked the bullet out of Scott’s hand and it had rolled.
“No. No, no, no, no.” Scott pleaded as he watched the bullet roll and fall into the vent in the floor.
Stiles was down on the floor besides me, “Derek. Derek, come on, wake up.” He was tapping his cheek, “Scott, what the hell are we gonna do?”
“I don’t know! I can’t reach it.” Scott called from across the room.
“He’s not waking up!” Stiles said between his teeth, clearly in panic mode, but I wasn’t any better. I leaned my head down to his chest, trying to hear his heartbeat.
“His heart beats slowing down!” I called, I grabbed his shoulder, starting to shake him, “Come on, Derek, wake up!”
“Come on.” I heard Scott grunt.
“I think he’s dying. I think he’s dead!” Stiles looking back in Scott’s direction. I started to panic, shaking him harder. I can’t lose him. I can’t. No one else I care about is allowed to die.
“Just hold on! Come on.” Scott let out a restrained yell, then shouted “Oh! I got it! I got it!”
When Stiles heard that, he pushed me back and bowed his fist, “Please don’t kill me for this.” He swung and connected with Derek’s cheek, “Ugh! Ow! God!” He pulled his hand away, shaking it. Derek gasped and his eyes shot open, I helped Derek to feet and held his waist to steady him.
“Give me…” Scott gave Derek the bullet. He took the bullet between his teeth, and broke it open. He dumped the contents of it on the table. From his back pocket he pulled out a match book, he lit a match and dropped it on the contents. It burned quickly, an eerie blue flame. Once it went out, he pinched some of the ash in his fingers, then stuck his fingers in the wound. I winched and looked away.
“Ow, God.” Stiles gagged. But we all watched in amazement as the dark veins that had been growing up his arm disappeared. I was finally able to breathe properly, I let out a sigh of relief, back away and leaning against the wall. I placed a hand on my chest, feeling my heart slowly go back into rhythm.
“That - Was - Awesome! Yes!” Stiles cheered, throwing his arms up.
“Are you okay?” Scott asked.
Derek grumbled a bit, “Well, except for the agonizing pain.”
“I’m guessing the ability to use sarcasm is a good sign of health.” Stiles smiled, feeling accomplished. He probably just was relieved that he didn’t have to cut anyone’s arm off.
“Okay, we saved your life, which means you’re gonna leave us alone, you got that? And if you don’t, I’m gonna go back to Allison’s dad, and I’m gonna tell him everything-” Scott started his threat. Which meant that I was severely out of the loop.
“You’re gonna trust them?” Derek cut him off,  “You think they can help you?”
“Well, why not? They’re a lot freaking nicer than you are.”
 Derek glared at him, the pain was back in his eyes, “I can show you exactly how nice they are.”
-
After the excitement was over, I decided to go to the Hale house to talk to Derek privately. I got there before him and waited for him in the driveway. I really shouldn’t have come unannounced. He would probably just tell me to get lost like he usually did. I was pulled out of my thoughts by his black Camaro pulling up beside my car. I got out as he did. Derek still looked pretty rough but his color was coming back to his skin.
“Hey, I just wanted to make sure you were okay.”
“I’m fine.” He said dismissively, walking towards his house. And we were back to this. Even after everything, it’s like our relationship reset itself every time we saw each other. I followed after him, hot on his heels.
“Why do you keep doing this?” I asked, closing the door behind me.
“Doing what?” He took his leather jacket off and hung it up.
“You and I, we talk, we get more comfortable with each other. I think I am finally getting through that shell of yours only for you to make another one.”
Derek turned to face me, “I don’t owe you any explanation. I am fine by myself.”
“No, you’re not.” I came closer to him, my face mere inches from his, “You’re not fine by yourself. I saw how you looked tonight when Scott brought up the Argents. You were hurt, and scared, and angry. You can’t just sit here in this house and pour yourself into finding this alpha, you’re going to kill yourself. You almost died today.”
“He killed my sister! He is killing people and now Kate Argent is back and she doesn’t follow the Code. She will do anything, no matter how awful it is, to murder my kind. She’s the reason my family is gone!” He barked back. I took a deep breath.
“I know you want justice for Laura. I do too. But you can’t do that if you’re dead. Is that what she would want? Her little brother dead trying to get revenge?” Derek avoided my gaze, looking through me more than at me.
“Derek.” I said softly, slowly bringing my hand up to his cheek. He inhaled sharply, becoming stiff under my touch.
I stood on my tiptoes to press my forehead against his and whispered, “This is selfish to say… but I can’t lose you too. I-I thought you were dead. You have to be more careful. Please.” His body became less rigid and he let out a shaky breath. He slowly brought his hand to my waist, the other sliding over my hand that rested on his cheek. In that moment, it felt like the whole universe stopped. It was only me and him. It was like our minds finally connected and our souls touched. There was silence, only the wind blowing softly through the trees.
“I can’t do this.” He whispered, closing his eyes.
“You can.” I laced my fingers with his against his cheek, “We can do it together.”
“I can’t let myself.” He opened his eyes again to meet mine, “When I’m with you I lose focus, you’re all I can think about. I get distracted from what I need to do. So I ignore you, treat us like it's nothing because I can’t open myself up again. Not after… not after what happened.” He was opening up, if not all the way, just a little. Derek had a good point. Finding the alpha and killing him was the only way to get justice for Laura. And if I was distracting him, maybe I should keep my distance. He clearly has been hurt terribly by someone, and hearing him bare his soul made me think about how to make it better. But what was I to do? My demons were killed, Derek deserved to destroy his own.
“Do you want me to go away?” My words were barely a whisper.
He licked his lips, “If I was allowed to be selfish, I would never let you go.” I took a deep breath, dreading the fact that I had to leave him.
“Okay.” I smiled, trying to ignore my burning tear ducts, “I’ll go home. And… I won’t come back unless you want me to.” I reluctantly slipped my hand out of his. But, I need one selfish thing if I was ever going to live with this. I leaned up, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. I pulled away, feeling his hand fall from my waist. I kept my eyes on the floor as I walked out of the Hale house, got into my car and drove away.

Plaything (Heisenberg x fem!reader)
Chapter 5 (of 5)
Summary: Reader works for BSAA and is scoping out the village until you get captured by none other than Heisenberg who doesn’t take well to trespassers. Once he learns of your hatred for your job, he wants the information you have and he doesn’t have to try hard to get it. You find yourself drinking, fireside, with him and can’t help but let him touch you. Angie said he’d needed a plaything and, well, you’re it.

Chapter 4
Final chapter below the cut:
The paranoia sets in after his ‘sister’ leaves. Heisenberg sends the Haulers to scope out the lower structures of the factory. Alcina is irksome, true enough, but her senses are pretty keen and he’s been up all night after you fell asleep – sans the chains. He’s not a monster.
The thought of a rat in his factory without him even knowing…it pushes him to a boiling point. Maybe that gargantuan with the sombrero is playing him as a fool, but he can’t take a chance.
He gets no work done, just paces back and forth in his makeshift office, focusing on all the bad that could potentially come his way with talk of your survival getting out.
She’ll kill you. He knows it; saw something similar happen with a villager Bela brought home. Apparently, Alcina’s the only one who’s allowed servants.
Who is he fooling? He knows the difference. The few survivors at House Dimitrescu are rotated through. And they’re for the sole purpose of eating. What Miranda saw in Bela’s beau was different – she could call it in an instant: attraction, temptation, hope. Hope for a different life; for something other than this village.
Anything that distracts from Miranda’s plan needs immediate attention. He’s sure she’ll be visiting within the day.
Heisenberg lets his anger out as he shoots a slew of knives at the wall.
And then he hears it.
The screeching from below.
They found something.
Heisenberg hasn’t hurried that quickly in ages – the winded feeling aching his lungs.
Sure enough, following the stream to the sub-basement, he hears the gunshots, spots the scene: a man taking out his Haulers, but more replacing them due to the noise.
Heisenberg shoves a metal pole in the man’s direction, knocking him down in one swoop. A snap of his fingers and the Haulers retreat.
“And who might you be?” he drones on as the man groans, trying to pull himself to his feet. “Not a talker, huh? That’s okay. I’ll put the pieces together for you: you’re part of the agents. You, somehow, survived and now you think you can just hide out here until your little helicopter picks you back up and takes you home to your comfy bed.” The man stands now, eyes glancing at the gun he’d dropped to his left. “Ah, ah. Bad choice.” They’re at a standstill. “Listen, I’m entertained, truly, it’s just getting dull so…” he shifts his hammer over his shoulder.
“You have her, don’t you?” the man speaks evenly.
Heisenberg narrows his eyes. “Have who?”
“[Y/N].” He dares to step closer. “I heard her in there. You have her.”
Heisenberg smirks. “Ah, you heard us, huh? Would it interest you to know just what those screams were really about?”
The man picks up on his innuendo. “You’re lying.”
“See for yourself.” Heisenberg purses his lips. “Friend of hers?” he’s met with silence. “Well, clearly a reunion is in order.” He swipes and forces metal to mold around the man’s hands, shackling him before he pushes him toward the staircase.
It takes a while, but he manages to shove the intruder all the way back to his quarters, where he knew you’d still be.
You’re still wearing his shirt, looking like a vision, when he forces the man into his quarters – flat on his face.
“Ohh, [Y/N]…” he speaks in a singsong voice.
You open your eyes, a slight smirk on your face before you stretch out under his bedsheets and look in his direction.
Within seconds, you’re bolting up in bed. The look you’re sending him is hard to read. The initial shock sets in and then there’s recognition…hurt?
“Chris?”
“Oh, fuck, [Y/N]…” he struggles to get up, but Heisenberg flicks his wrist and the cuffs tighten. Chris groans out.
“Touching. Truly touching. Now, I told ya you’d get to see her…” he points in her direction. “See?”
“You asshole,” Chris cusses.
“Time to die!” Heisenberg raises a gloved fist and calls all the metal items in the room.
“No, stop!” you’re rushing toward Heisenberg, his shirt billowing around your naked nether regions. You grip his wrist and put yourself between the two men. “Please, Karl, no.”
Heisenberg raises an eyebrow. “What does this whelp mean to you?”
“It’s…complicated.”
Heisenberg glances between the two of you, really takes in the expression on Chris’ face.
“Ah, so you two used to fuck then, is that it?” Heisenberg hums.
“[Y/N], get away from him,” Chris warns from on the floor, clearly irate at the current discussion. Heisenberg laughs.
“Chris, you don’t understand. He’s…” you sigh, unable to put it into words. “He’s not what you think. He’s not like you think.”
And it’s true. Though you’ve seen the bad parts of him, you’ve seen his humanity still. You’ve seen the hurt parts of him, the irreparable parts that Miranda damaged.
Heisenberg lowers his hand at this and the metals go clanging to the ground. His mouth is a hard line, but his eyes show so much emotion. You’re reminded of the soft moment he shared last night before treating you to several orgasms.
“You’ve got two minutes to convince me not to kill him.”
“He got out!” you yell, tears in your eyes. “He’s proof, Karl. He got out. BSAA. All of this…he’s proof that I can do it.”
The conversation from the other night comes to mind and Heisenberg hums.
“You could get her out of this?” Heisenberg’s voice is level now as he asks Chris.
“Y-yeah…yes?” Chris, clearly confused, struggles to stand with his hands cuffed in front of him. “Why, do you…?”
Heisenberg narrows his eyes, stares at the ground. When he exhales out of his nose, you glance his way.
“Well,” he lights a cigar, puffs on it a few times before speaking again. “Looks like you’ve got lots to discuss.”
And just like that, he’s snapped the cuffs off Chris and is sauntering out of the room. You follow after him, but he pushes you against the wall with one hand against your neck.
“Karl…” you practically sob.
He doesn’t look at you. “Look, you got an out, you take it.” He exhales again, speaks barely at a whisper, “If I’d had an out…” he lets that sentence trail off.
“But, Karl, what about-”
“Miranda’s already aware of your presence in my factory – guaranteed. We’ve got my fucked up family to thank for that. If I know Miranda – and I do… - she’ll come sniffing around soon…” his thumb rubs along your neck. You’ve never seen him look so serious when he says, “I can’t let her know about my plans, [Y/N].”
And he lets you go. When your feet plant back on the ground, you hear Chris stumble through the doorway as Heisenberg saunters down the hall. You know he’s made up his mind. And wasn’t it a pipedream anyway, staying here with him?
Tears prickle in your eyes.
Chris rushes to your side, watches the scene before him. You can tell he’s ready to go after Heisenberg, but you put a hand on his chest in hopes you’ll stop him. The defeated feeling is overwhelming.
“[Y/N], leave it to you to get wrapped up in all of this,” Chris mumbles.
Your fingers are busy playing with the hem of the shirt Karl gave you. “Yeah…leave it to me.”
“C’mon, let’s get you dressed.”
•••
You were never good at leaving, never good at goodbyes, and this is no different.
It’s not like you had things to pack, you’d been here for a total of a few days and as you think about it, you realize how crazy this seems: to get this head-over-heels in a matter of a few days.
But you’d like to think you understand each other.
And he trusted you, let you into his headspace for those few days.
You convince Chris to give you five minutes before you leave. It’s…awkward between you. There were several occasions in your history where you indulged in each other out of pure convenience. Late nights after work, early mornings before, missions if you could ever sneak away…neither of you could hold down a steady relationship with work so you just made the best of it.
Things got complicated between the two of you – things are always complicated with Chris – but you never expected him to be here. You hadn’t heard about the Hound Wolf Squad, but it sort of gave you hope that there could be a version of you that gets out of these missions, this life.
Heisenberg is in one of his many offices when you finally find him – there are three main ones and you never know where he’ll be. He’s tinkering with something, but you can see his mind is elsewhere. He doesn’t look up at you when you enter the room.
You close the door, take a few tentative steps toward him.
When you wrap your arms around him, you hear him sigh. Your cheek is pressed against his back, hands met around his middle, and you just hold onto him.
You’re tentative, never knowing what kind of mood he’s going to be in and what constitutes a step too far. But, apparently, right now this is okay.
“There’s no changing my mind, you know,” he speaks.
“I know,” you nod against him, shift your body so you’re between him and his workbench. “I just wanted to say thank you.”
His expression softens. Gloved fingers come to swipe your hair from your face. You hate the thought of his years of planning to fall apart just because of you.
“You’re welcome.”
The moment stills again.
“We could have been good,” you whisper out.
A nod. “If you stay here, you’ll get killed. Simple as that. I’m making a choice, buttercup.”
“I know…” you nod, try not to cry. “It’s crazy…” you sniffle, look away.
“What’s crazy?” he’s still got his hand cupping under your chin.
“This heat between us. I mean, you don’t know me.”
He gives you one of those devilish smirks. “But I could know you.”
And just like that, you’re pawing at him again – pulling him in to kiss you, letting your hands trail down to undo his pants. One last time.
The moment is slow as he pulls down your pants and takes you right on his workbench. You’re pretty sure you hear the door open and then close again – Chris had always been a stickler for time and your five minutes was surely up.
You lose sense of everything when he’s between your legs. It’s nice to just be in this moment with him, a final goodbye.
Gloved fingers against your clit, he urges another orgasm out of you, more powerful than the last.
You’re both wandering hands and needy kisses, soft moans as he slowly ruts into you; savoring every thrust.
The moment ends before you’d like it to; Heisenberg thrusting deep in you, his face buried in the crook of your neck as he gasps and moans your name. When he finally pulls back, you can tell he’s blissed after the orgasm, but when reality sets in you see the emotion on his face.
You have to leave.
You’ll be killed if you don’t – he said it himself – but a part of you thinks it’s worth risking. He doesn’t feel the same, you’re sure, considering his metal army would be discovered and the work he’d put in would be for naught.
Revenge is a little more important than a chick he just met a few days ago. You’re being unrealistic, you know that.
“I’ll miss you,” you say, hand cupping his cheek, thumb tracing over his scars.
“And I, you.”
“Hate to break this up, but there’s an extremely tall woman headed this way…” Chris enters the room.
“Fuck,” you jump down from the workbench, pull on your pants – the ripped-up ones from the day you met Heisenberg – they’ll have to do, you’d decided.
“Take the elevator all the way down. You’ll see a tunnel. Head through there.”
You kiss him once more, pulling him into you shamelessly in front of Chris, savoring every moment with him. There’s a spark between the two of you that Chris will never understand.
And you leave without turning back because one look at him and you know you’re staying put – won’t have the guts to walk away.
Unbeknownst to you, Chris lingers in the doorway, arms crossed, staring at Heisenberg.
“You really care for her,” Chris acknowledges.
“You should really leave if you want to make it out of here alive,” he ignores Chris’ comment.
Chris’ eyes narrow. Pointedly, he pulls a business card from his pocket, lifts it toward Heisenberg, slams it down on the table beside him, then follows you down the hallway.
Heisenberg’s eyes trace over the printed lettering and a smirk appears on his face.
•••
You fake dead. That’s how you get out of this. Chris and his team cover for you and in turn you help with the Hound Wolf Squad.
Neither of you talk about what happened in Heisenberg’s factory. Neither of you really talk about any of it, really. And some missions he knows you’re too close to so he leaves you out of it.
You aren’t really together, but Chris crashes at your apartment here and there – another convenience factor thing. And, yes, maybe a few nights you’ve gotten a little too drunk and fallen into each other’s arms. It’s partly pure convenience and partly because loneliness strikes again and you’re thinking of what could have been if you’d stayed behind in the village…
One drunken night, you’re lying in bed beside Chris as he flips through TV stations.
“Did he ever…-” he starts, looking at you out of the corner of his eye. “Never mind.”
You don’t push, but you’re sure he has questions about Heisenberg, sure he’s curious why you fell into your captor’s arms, sure he wonders if it was a Stockholm Syndrome deal after all.
You rarely let yourself think of him, don’t wonder what-if, don’t carry the weight of his story with you, try not to worry about his future…
Without a second thought, you change the subject to the movie he just put on, ignore the ache that settles in your chest.
•••
Months pass; holidays, birthdays. New works crops up and you’re so distracted. It’s a welcomed change. For once you’re enjoying working, not despising being sent out on mission after mission. You’re considering buying yourself a home.
You’re busy for once in a long while and keeping up on things has been trying, but your friends attempt to help keep you level by taking you out once in a while or having a movie night. You’re grateful for the turn your life has taken. Who knew that mission to the village would alter so many things?
You’re waiting on a call back from your colleague, hoping to get information so you can start up on your next project but also hoping to start your weekend soon – a night out with friends is long overdue since you started looking at houses to purchase.
Glancing out your window, you see a family passing on the street below your apartment, a baby in a stroller, a dog on a leash, bike riders and rollerbladers and joyful people completely unaware of any bioweapons in other places.
You shut your curtains, push those thoughts away, close your eyes, and try to steady your breathing.
When your phone rings, you mindlessly swipe to answer.
“Hello?”
The voice on the line stops you in your tracks.
“Hello, kitten.”

Deep in Love
Summary: It's been too long since Chris has been away. When his flight gets delayed, she's sad. But wakes up to Chris ready to take her breath away.
Pairing: Chris Evans x OFC
Word count: 1.8k
Warnings: 18+ content, bodily fluids, oral (female receiving), sexual Intercourse, unprotected sex
A/N: I had to give some loving to my other muse, Mr. Evans. First ever smut and I would like to start with him because he has been the object of my fantasies for more than a decade.
Title: Deep in Love
Chris hated it when I watch his interviews online. He said he only acts the way the public wants him to be like, a little naughty for PR, a little held down to not come off as uncivilized or too out spoken.
To some extent I agreed. Chris was the human equivalent of a teddy bear, soft and cuddly and his intellect was beyond what could be projected through the camera. Chris was more than just a face and I was lucky to see him for who he really was.
Waking up to his sleep ladden eyes, heavy voice with tousled hair was the best sight for me. But I would never lie that seeing him on screen, all primped and dashing, got me craving for him even more.
Especially when he had been away for months on end and Skype calls could only satisfy me so much.
This particular one that I had stumbled on YouTube, a photoshoot interview that featured him answering the same old questions about his life. He always complained he was so tired of repeating the same things, but it was all part of the job eventually. He looked breathtakingly handsome in this one, the photographer had done a fantastic job.
Chris looked the best with his beard-a personal preferance for him and me alike. It was trimmed neatly, his hair slicked back and the beige and brown outfit complimenting him so well. Hearing his voice, that laugh, it just made me miss him more.
Dodger whined from his place on the adjacent couch. Chris's voice from the speakers seemed to have grabbed his attention too.
"Yeah, buddy. I know. I miss him too." I cooed at him.
My phone rang besides me, a video call from the man himself.
"Hi, babe."
How was it possible to be feeling mushy by your boyfriend's voice even after being together for three years?
"Tell me you are reaching home soon." I went to sit near Dodger, ruffling his fur while I spoke to Chris.
He scratched the back of his neck. "Actually, my flight got delayed because of the weather."
I frowned. I had been so excited for him to finally be with me, even prepared his favourite lasagna and bought his favourite wine. I was hoping that he would make in time for lunch and then we could cuddle in the bed while he slept his jet-lag off.
"Hey," he called out. His eyes soft and apologetic. "I'll be home today, don't you worry. Okay?"
I was afraid if he didn't come home tonight, I might forget what it felt like to be buried in his chest, his arms holding me tight. His scent was already close to a faded memory, no matter how hard I tried to remember it.
"I miss you so much." I sounded a bit whiny there, but I really did miss him a lot.
"I miss you too, baby. I can't wait to kiss you till you become breathless." He said in a sing-song voice, trying to make me laugh.
I did chuckle but the thought of being kissed by Chris untill my lungs gave out felt so hot. As my thoughts began drifting to activities that usually followed our out-of-breath kissing, my cheeks heated up and wetness began forming down south.
Dodger decided to bark at the moment, all the way near the door.
"Oh, someone wants to go pee-pee." Chris chuckled and shook his head.
I was thankful that Chris took no notice of my blush because I wasn't sure if I could handle it if he had decided to tease me with some descriptive imagery of our love making. I glanced at our pooch staring at me with expectant eyes to let him out.
"Wait, I'll just let him out-"
"Actually, I'll call you back. Someone is at the door, probably an update. If I'm late, babe, don't wait up okay? I'll kiss you good morning tomorrow."
I nodded and he was gone. I really didn't want to miss giving him a welcome hug when he came home. I didn't want a good morning kiss, I wanted a good night loving.
"Looks like we'll have to wait a little longer for your dad, Bubba." I told Dodger before letting him out.
***
I had no clue what time it was. When I opened my eyes, our bedroom lights were on, music playing from my ear buds, and a warm presence behind me.
Thought about not locking the door securely, or leaving a window open, giving access to a murderous intruder flooded my mind. I turned so quickly to look at the presence, I had to blink several times from the head rush.
My heart was racing from the fear, but it wasn't an intruder's sinister eyes that met mine. The man with soft, blue green eyes with a tired smile on his face looked back at me.
"Chris?" I sat up instantly, giving myself another head rush. But this was incredulous. I really hoped I wasn't dreaming. "Are you really here?" I stupidly asked.
His chest rumbled with his chuckle, him sitting up too. His face so close to mine, his breath washed over my face. A wide smile spread over my face and I threw my arms around him.
He welcomed me and held me tightly against his chest. Oh, how much had I missed the physical contact between us. He felt so warm, so strong, it made my heart flutter. I took a deep breath, the faint scent of his cologne and soap lingering, enveloping me entirely.
Chris pulled back his face, making me look at him. He placed a gentle hand behind my head and slowly placed a kiss on my lips.
I swear I was about to melt. He pulled me closer with his arm, I was almost straddling him now. Our bodies were flushed together, my arms still around his neck.
His beard scuffed against my face, as his lips moved with mine in perfect synchronization.
I had imagined this moment various times in the past months, about our reunion. It always hurt me when he left but whenever he came back, it felt surreal. I could feel the intensity of our kiss deepen with his tongue beginning to move with mine. Warmth spread from my cheeks, to my chest and settled as a heat pooled between my thighs as I tasted his sweet cavern.
I moaned as I felt his erection beginning to strain against his pants, nudging my thigh through the clothes.
The desperation to feel our bodies close, sans the obstructive fabric of our clothes, was so urgent that we nearly tore them off of our bodies. Chris laid me down on the bed, placing himself in between my legs. His cock was hard and ready and my core wet and dripping for him.
But instead, Chris decided to travel down my body. He gently grabbed a hold of my breasts, kneading them and placing kisses all over. My back arched as he took a hardened nipple in his mouth and sucked at it.
I held onto his arms, feeling the tautness of his muscles underneath my touch. I moaned when one of his hands travelled down my body and teased me at my entrance.
"Baby you are so wet. You really did miss me a lot, huh?" He smirked against my breast, his eyes dark and lustful. He placed kisses over my body, goosebumps appearing on my skin, making his way even further down.
I shuddered when he reached in between my thighs, his warm breath against my quivering folds. I let out a shaky breath when he looked at me, his dark eyes lined by his long lashes.
"Oh..." I moaned as he flicked his tongue over my swollen nub. I felt his fingers rubbing at my entrance before he slid one digit in and took my clit in his mouth.
I moaned out his name like a prayer, my hands reaching out and grasping at his head. His soft hair clutched in mine while he performed his ministrations on me.
The heat pooled at the bottom of my belly. He sucked and licked and flicked his tongue over me, another finger joining the first one. I was so immensely starved of his touch, that it did not even take long for me to come against his mouth. My thighs shuddered, my body felt hot and my panting breaths were the only thing audible in the room.
Chris lapped at my juices like it was nectar. He climbed back on top of me, not giving me a moment to relax. He licked his lips while lining his cock against my entrance.
The sound that escaped his lips when he entered the tip of his penis inside me was so erotic. My insides stretched to accommodate him, feeling him bury deep in me.
"Fuck, babe. You feel so tight." He said with a moan when he was fully within.
I finally felt one with him, joined at our bodies, competing each other. He leaned down, lifting my legs to wrap around his waist and kissed me deeply. I could still taste myself on his lips, feel him pulsating inside me. I wrapped my legs around his waist as he pulled out and trusted back inside.
My hips met his thrusts with groans excaping from our lips. The room suddenly was beginning to feel warm, our bodies beginning to sweat. He wound his arms around my waist while I encircled his neck, pulling him down for another kiss. The familiar knotting was beginning to deep within me as Chris hit my sweet spot with each thrust, like he had done a hundred times before.
The time away from each other must have been difficult for both of us, because like me, Chris didn't last long either. Together we came, him shuddering above me with a curse, filling me up. I buried my head in the crook of his neck, digging my nails in his skin, as his final thrusts pushed me over the edge once again.
In a heap of sweaty limbs, we both laid, spent and undone. Chris took deep labored breaths, his head on the pillow besides me. My heart was pounding in my chest as I felt Chris begin to go soft inside me.
"Hell of a reunion, wasn't it?" I managed to speak.
He climbed off of me and laid on his side. His breaths still coming in short but a content smile on his face.
"Told you I'll kiss you good morning." He pulled me over to him, my head resting against his chest. His heart was racing still, I could hear it thumping underneath. He rubbed my arm as his eyes began to close, tiredness getting to him. "Take a nap, babe. We'll need the energy for round two."
Tumblr media
I smiled against his chest, hearing him snore and drifting into slumber.

Unexpectedly Bitten
Vampire!Henry Cavill x Reader
Summary: Your ex gets into some trouble with Vampires, and his mistakes lead the bloodsuckers back to you. After seeing you, one vampire gets a little attached and he’s taking his time deciding what he plans to do with you, but whatever it is, you’re not afraid. In fact, you might just be a little attached to him too.
Warnings: cursing, smut, violence. (Count on spelling mistakes or repeating words too often. it’s very likely.)
Notes: Let me emphasize this: there is little rhyme or reason to the way this story is broken into parts. I did my best though, and I stuck to 7. I tried not to make each part too long.
This is a Vampire!Henry x Reader story where each chapter, while chronological, is a different conversation or event during the course of their evolving relationship.
Words: 2045
Part 6: Out of Time
You laid facing each other on Henry’s plush mattress you’d somehow made it to as the night went on, while he ran his fingers through your messy, sex-crazed hair. Three times took everything out of you, but you hadn’t slept a wink, afraid of what another day gone by would mean. He said you had to go back, but it would have to be before the five a.m. summer sunrise tomorrow or you would be stuck until night, when the Lord arrived.
You wanted to be stuck with him. Stuck in his bed, in his arms. Stuck to the life you’d been living since he took you. And you hoped everything between you was enough to convince him, to squash his fear, and believe in himself to protect you.
“I don’t want to be without you,” He whispered.
“Then don’t be without me,” You said, tracing over his bottom lip with your thumb, savoring the way those words passed through them moments before. Your bite had already healed, and it made you want to make another.
“Lamb—” You covered his mouth with your hand, fearing what he may say.
After a beat, Henry gently removed that hand and placed a kiss on your palm before pressing it against his heart.
“It’s so strange,” You said.
“What is?”
“Stories say a vampire’s heart is ripped from their chest when they are turned, that the holes are filled with hatred for humans. But yours beats as strong as anyone else’s.” Your fingers on his skin practically vibrated from the intense thumping.
“This heart has been living for hundreds of years, you know.” He smiled. “You’d think it’d be old, worn out, but…I don’t think it could ever get to that point if you’re around.” Then the smile faded as he gripped your hand harder, and said, “I have to take you back today.”
“Henry—”
“No,” He shook his head. “My turn now. You must listen to me, Lamb.” You looked away but he tilted your face back to his. “He comes tomorrow,” He said, emphasizing each word.
The tears threatened to sting sharper than they ever had before, as if you needed a reminder that this loss—the loss of Henry—would be the worst you’d faced yet. You did not need that reminder, and you cursed the tears. “Then bring me back after he’s gone.”
“I can’t.”
“Why?” You practically choked trying to get the sound out.
“Because Elec was suspicious when he saw you. I’ll be watched for some time and if they catch me bringing you back, they’ll know I didn’t drain you and they’ll kill you anyway.”
Your cheeks began to burn from the hot downpour of tears coating them. “Henry…”
He couldn’t wipe the droplets from your skin fast enough, like he knew they were hurting you. “I don’t want this either.”
“How…How long would it be until I could see you again?”
“I don’t know,” He said, kissing you hard to kill your sob.
-------------------------------------------
You convinced him to let you stay until night. But it wasn’t so hard after getting him drunk off of the feel of you sweetly nipping at his neck. ‘What’s another few hours,’ He’d said in that raspy, lust-drenched voice, then pulled your body on top of his and kissed you. There was no reason to leave a second before you had to, but you knew it was pushing Henry to the brink. It was a stress on his shoulders that you hated to admit would not be relieved until you were gone.
But as it would turn out, a few hours could make all the difference. A few hours full of selfish choices has the power to make or break your entire world.
Henry was deep inside of you, your breaths mixing as you ground your hips back and forth on top of him. His hold on your hips was beautifully tight, but it turned painful the instant Chris barged through the door to Henry’s room. Fear struck your vampire’s core at the expression on his friend’s face, and he rushed to cover you as you lifted off of him.
“What is it?” Henry asked, sitting up fast; the thick blankets pooling above his hips. You couldn’t see his face, but the agitation in his voice made your lungs collapse.
Chris tossed you a terrified glance, and said to you both, “We are out of time.”
You weren’t so sure Henry hadn’t lied when he said his heart wouldn’t die as long as you were around. You could practically feel it withering. He looked back at you. “Stay here,” he said, shoving the covers off his legs and yanking his boxers on. He threw the rest of his clothes on his body and walked to you, cupping your face in his hands and giving you a quick kiss. “Promise me you won’t move; you won’t make a sound.”
You nodded.
“Say it!”
“I promise.”
He took a deep breath and kissed you once more, then jogged out the door after Chris.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Long silver hair draped over the slim shoulders of the self-appointed yet widely accepted vampire Lord. His height landed somewhere between Henry’s and Elec’s, but despite his size, he emanated a power that could crumble the walls of Henry’s home until the roof caved in; a roof that would cave in on the home you were currently in. For more than one reason, Henry knew he had to tread lightly.
The Lord smiled--his fangs a little longer, slightly sharper than most--when Chris returned to the living room with Henry in tow. “You certainly know how to make you master wait,” Elias said in such an even, unthreatening tone it made Henry’s stomach quiver.
“Forgive me. I was expecting you tomorrow.”
A well-manicured eyebrow arched in what appeared to be genuine surprise. “Is that so?”
“A mistake on my part, I’m sure,” Henry said, gesturing toward one of the couches, inviting the Lord to sit as tradition expected.
Elias sat, pleased, and crossed one long leg over the other. His Amber eyes--the color of the burning sun at dusk—scanned the room. “Still not a touch of modernization in this home, is there?”
“No real reason to change much,” Chris said with an attempt at a casual shrug. “We don’t get visitors.”
Elias’s eyes pierced Henry’s like a dagger to the gut. “Oh no?”
“No,” Chris affirmed, but Henry didn’t miss the small smirk stretching across Elec’s pale, thin lips.
Elias’s mouth twitched to the side before settling into a frown. “You see, that’s not what I heard. I heard you’ve had quite a…unique visitor as of late. An extended-stay guest, some might say.”
Neither Chris nor Henry answered, both unable to find the oxygen in the air to do so.
“Where is the human, boys?”
“Gone,” Henry managed to say.
“Gone or dead?”
“What does it matter how I word it?”
“How you word it is everything,” The Lord replied. “After all, Henry, we all know ‘gone’ and ‘dead’ are not the same. So, I’ll ask again.” He clicked his tongue. “Where is the human?”
“Dead, then.”
Elias sighed in sincere disappointment and gave a brief nod to Elec, who disappeared to scour the home.
“She’s not here,” Henry said, trying to restrain his panic.
“Henry…” Elias frowned again, like a disappointed parent at their child’s transparent lie.
Henry didn’t know what to do. He felt useless, weak. If he ran to find you before Elec could, then it would give you away. If he held his breath and prayed you hid well enough for Elec to pass over you, there might be a chance; though slim, it was all Henry could place his hope in. But in the end, what he saw ripped his heart from his chest.
Elec only tsked as he carried you into the room, your body wrapped tight in Henry’s bedsheet. “Didn’t even bother to hide her, Hen? You must not care for her very much. Although, I suppose the look on your face suggests otherwise." You were set on your feet and Elec held firmly to your hand as if he were escorting you. The blank look in your eyes made Henry’s body freeze over. It was the look humans only get if their minds have been blocked by a vampires’ will. Elec looked to Elias. “I told you he loves her.”
“I’ll put her back where I found her.” Henry tried to keep his voice steady as his eyes stayed glued to your glazed over ones. “Please.”
“We all know that’s not how this works.” Elias stood, pulling on the cuffs of his coat until they straightened down to his wrists. “Elec explained everything. You got your one chance to dispose of her, and you failed to take advantage of it. She needs to be made an example of. Now, stay,” He commanded Henry like a dog, keeping his feet from taking another step.
Henry practically doubled over at the sight of Elias’s fingers wrapping around your slender neck, as a silent sob prepared to destroy him from the inside out. Chris moved to Henry and threw his arms around his shoulders while Henry cried ‘Please’ over and over like a man with a broken mind.
“Be thankful, Henry.” Elias said. “Be happy she’ll die while in the trance instead of flailing and sobbing like a small lamb at slaughter time.”
There was no suspense, no drama to the way your neck snapped. It was just a crack, like a lightning strike in an empty field; no other sound around until your body and Henry’s knees hit the floor in sync with thunderous thuds. Your death was not meant to be a long, drawn out torture. It was to make a point; and it certainly had.
Through the cloud of his tears, Henry noticed Elias crouch down in front of him. “I am not an evil man, Henry,” Elias said, cupping Henry’s cheek, but his blue eyes couldn’t be forced from your body, broken on the floor. “I understand how you must be feeling. The majority of us were in love with a human once long ago. But they made us weak, and a weak vampire is a useless vampire. We had grown so accustomed to placing our humans on a pedestal that we were blind to the flip it caused in our power. We’d begun to bow to them, but now we have regained our strength. Over the last few centuries, we’ve come to show them that we are the ones in power again; that their species serves us one purpose. Our laws surrounding humans were put in place for a reason, Henry. That, I know you know. However…” Elias glanced back at your body. “I see you have lost so much here today. So, I will ignore your blatant disrespect for your Lord and the law, as well as for your lack of offerings.” Elias then stood, dusting off and smoothing his already wrinkleless coat. “I visit every quarter-century, and you’ve been so good up until now, Henry. This truly is a disappointment.”
The second the Lord and his loyal pup were out the door, Henry stood and rushed to your side, only to collapse back on his knees again. He touched you delicately as if he might break another of your bones, then framed your face with his hands, cradling it with care.
“Henry…” Chris said, but received no answer. “Henry!”
Henry’s head shot around with a growl when Chris’s touch met his shoulder. “Don’t!”
“If you’re going to do it, do it now, before it’s too late.”
Henry’s face fell to anguish as he looked back at you, and he softly brushed your hair away from your face. He was losing valuable time, and there was a deadline for this sort of thing; one that could not be toyed with.
His kiss landed on your forehead, your cheek, your mouth, then he grabbed your wrist with shaking fingers and brought it to his lips. He kissed the inner side of it for a long beat.
“Forgive me, my love. I did not want this for you,” He whispered against your skin before sinking his piercing fangs into your delicate flesh.

falling slowly
five times people found out about eddie changing his will, seeing right through him, and the one time they both admitted what it meant. on ao3
Sometimes, Eddie’s confused when he’s called rude— or on one memorable occasion; a motherfucking shitface —because most of the time he only wants to make other people happy. Sure, that’s not always healthy either, but rude? No. So whenever it happens, it puzzles him a great deal, never quite understanding exactly what was done or said wrong.
On this occasion though, he has no problems seeing how he’s at fault.
“Are you being an ass on purpose or is it for my benefit alone?” Ana spits, and he can’t really blame her for looking as if she wants to punch him in the face.
The thing is, he’s been meaning to end things with her for ages— since before the shooting six weeks ago —but he can never find the right moment. Or, rather, timing is right but the words get stuck in his throat, fire burning through all of them until nothing but ashes and a fresh smile remains.
The irritation he feels for himself bleeds through onto her, staining their conversations, all of them becoming stiff, sometimes as if two strangers talked. And he wants to get out of there, and he wants to stay with her forever just to bask in the easiness of it all, and he wants to kiss her to not have to say anything at all, and he wants her to end it so he doesn’t have to.
So when she took a stray potato from his plate and said, chewing, that maybe she should spend more time with Christopher in case Eddie ever had to work late, because that way she could help, and wouldn’t it be useful if the boy knew her better— well Eddie just lost his head completely.
“Why? Carla or Buck can do that.” He heard the tone of his own voice, the acid not quite coming through, and he had wished it did. The coward in him had made him frown down at the empty plate to avoid meeting her eyes, instead looking at the remaining sauce for the two pieces of potato he’d saved for just that. Ana had taken them without asking. It wasn’t a big deal, and he didn’t mind sharing his food, and he was full anyway— but damn it, he had wanted those last potatoes for himself.
She laughed at his words, soft and easily. “Is Buck honestly the best option? He seems reckless.”
And at this, something had flashed before Eddie’s eyes, red and dangerous, and the words tasted like bile even before they left his lips. “Buck is Christopher’s legal guardian if something ever happens to me.”
This sentence acted as some kind of catalyst for their first— and only —fight, vicious words thrown back and forth in a battle neither seemed to win, but both wanted to end.
So no, Eddie couldn’t blame Ana for calling him an ass. It’s also the very thing that casts him back into the correct plane of reality, a place where he prides himself in being a decent human being, someone his son can look up to.
He forces himself to meet her eyes. “I’m sorry.”
Her mouth opens and closes a few times. “W-what?”
“I said I’m sorry. For what I said and for not telling you.”
“I’m sorry too.” Her shoulders sag, and just like that this is the end between them and he knows he’s a coward for letting it be. “And for what it’s worth, you really should tell him.”
Abruptly, as if they’ve mutually agreed upon it, they go to the hallway where he reaches for the jacket he hung there an hour earlier. “I never wanted it to end this way.” This is the truth.
“Me neither.” He can’t tell if she means it or not.
“And I have told him,” he continues as he opens the front door, feeling the breeze from the warm night on his face. He’s about to let go of the handle when Ana’s hand closes over his.
“That’s not what I meant.”
She closes the door before he has the time to think of something to say— but honestly there’s nothing more to add.
***
Eddie doesn’t tell anyone about the break-up. Not immediately anyway. It’s not that he regrets it, or feels sad about it; he’s not even all that remorseful about the way it went down.
But almost a week later, it comes up when he and Chimney are alone in the kitchen, the others dozing by the tv.
“Hey, Maddie is feeling better so I thought that maybe you and Ana want to come over this weekend? You can bring Chris.“
“Ah.” He scratches himself by the ear to buy some time, which is probably what tips Chim off.
“Wait, are you not - ?”
Eddie flicks his eyes around the loft, but no one is close enough to overhear them anyway. “Nah, we broke up last week.”
“I’m sorry man.” Chim puts a gentle hand on his left shoulder and gives him a smile. “Are you okay?”
Eddie nods, because he is. “Yeah. It hasn’t been all that good since before the shooting to tell you the truth, and then we had a major fight after I told her that Buck will be the legal guardian of Chris if anything should happen to me.”
Almost a full minute goes by where Chim just stares open-mouthed at him, and Eddie doesn’t know what to do or say so he stays still, afraid of the gleeful surprise on Chim’s face.
Finally, Chim blinks a couple of times. “Can I be there when you tell Hen?”
“Why?” Eddie frowns deep, not at all what he expected Chim to say.
“Trust me. She can say what I can’t.”
“I don’t understand.”
At this, Chim gets a sympathetic smile on his face. “Oh, I know you don’t.”
And he goes to join the others.
***
To his credit, Chim doesn’t appear to tell Hen what he and Eddie discussed. Unfortunately for Eddie, this means that he doesn’t get a chance to understand what Chim meant. Well, technically, he could just tell Hen and find out for himself, but he did keep this quiet for more than a year— and it was never an active choice, he just didn’t feel as if someone else needed to know, not even Buck at first (which, looking back, might’ve been an oversight on his part)— so speaking up about it now, without being prompted, seems strange, the words falling flat on his tongue.
However, not even three days after telling Chimney, the moment presents itself in the form of Buck.
Eddie, Hen and Chim are eating, their shift about to start, when Buck practically throws his entire body towards an available chair, slamming his ankle into one of the table legs, followed by some loud cursing.
As Eddie practically hears the collective eye roll from Chim and Hen, he chuckles. “You know, some of those words are illegal.”
“Ha ha,” Buck groans in response. “Don’t worry, when I have to raise Chris by myself, I’ll make sure he knows them all. I take my guardianship very seriously.”
There’s a thump, and Eddie looks at Hen; the fork is dangling in the breeze of her open mouth, the food that was obviously just on it lying in the middle of her almost empty plate.
 “Say what now?” One of her eyebrows is dangerously high up on her forehead.
Buck looks comically from her, to Eddie, to Chim, and back again. “Um, yeah,” is all he replies.
Sadly, this means Hen turns to Eddie instead, and he really wishes it weren’t so but he can feel himself shrink under her gaze. “Are you telling me you made Buck the legal guardian of your kid if something happened to you?”
“No, Buck told you that,” he jokes, but not a muscle in her face reacts. “Yes, that’s what’ll happen if I die.”
She looks thoughtful— scarily so —as her eyes flits between him and Buck; Eddie can almost feel Chim vibrating in the chair next to his own.
“I should’ve caught on sooner,” she says eventually.
“What?” Eddie’s dry mouth asks even though he doesn’t want to hear the answer. Buck, apparently, is more interested in eating than this conversation and starts picking stuff from Eddie’s plate. Somehow, Eddie doesn’t care.
Hen smirks, and points a finger between him and Buck, and Eddie can feel his eyes bulging, feel the strange beating of his heart in his own ears, the sweat starting on his palms, and Hen’s smirk turns into an actual smile.
She doesn’t elaborate, and when Buck looks up from the platter less than a minute later he seems oblivious to the exchange that has happened.
As the bell goes off and they head toward the truck, Eddie dries his hands on his thighs and drowns out what’s going on inside his head; he’s too scared of all those things he already knows to be true, almost spoken out loud in words he does not yet have.
***
By the time they get back to the station, Eddie has already figured out he needs to tell Bobby about this; it’s only a matter of time until someone slips up and Eddie really wants to be the one to tell his captain this. Not that he thinks it’s a big deal, but he’d feel weird about it if Bobby heard it from the probie.
He knocks twice on the doorframe to Bobby’s office. Both of them have taken a shower and had something to eat, enjoying the blissful quiet between calls.
Bobby looks up at Eddie over the brim of paper he’s holding. “Eddie! What can I do for you?”
Eddie, not knowing what to do with his hands, puts them in the pocket of his pants and takes a few steps into the room, making sure the door is closed. “I - uh, I wanted to talk to you about my will,” he starts.
Bobby nods, opening a cabinet next to the desk to look through some folders. “Have you changed it again since last year?”
Eddie just gapes. “What?”
“I have the copy in here somewhere,” Bobby mutters to himself. “Aha! There it is.” He presents the paper to Eddie, who accepts it. Sure enough, there’s a copy of the will he wrote after the last accident.
“I didn’t know you had this.”
“Your attorney sent it to me. He figured since you gave me the old one, you’d want me to have the new one as well.”
Eddie nods.
“What did you want to tell me about the will?” Bobby looks so concerned that Eddie can’t help the huff of laughter that escapes him.
“Nothing. I wanted you to know about Buck, that's all.”
“Ah.” Those soul gazing eyes locks onto Eddie and he squirms. “I already know.”
Lost for anything to say to this, Eddie sinks down to the closest chair and they sit together in silence until he no longer feels as if those carefully constructed walls he built to contain all he has inside for Buck is crumbling down around him. Soon he’ll be standing in the ruins of a former fortress and the only one left to tell is Buck. Eddie’s just not sure he has the courage.
***
Chris was the first one Eddie told, before he even signed the papers or anything. It just didn’t sit right with him to take this decision away from the boy. For weeks and weeks Eddie thought about the best way to bring it up, trying to come up with replies for all plausible scenarios.
It was a Wednesday when he finally took the plunge.
“Hey buddy, can I ask you something?”
Chris had nodded happily. “What Dad?”
“If I didn’t come home one day, if something bad happened to me, how do you feel about Buck taking care of you?”
Chris didn’t even think about it. Instead, he frowned deeply. “If you’re not here, why wouldn’t I live with Buck? He always takes care of us.”
Eddie had almost laughed with relief, not having foreseen this easiness at all. He ruffled Chris' hair and said, “No, you’re right. I agree.”
They didn’t talk about it again.
***
It’s been almost three weeks since his break-up with Ana, and he still hasn’t told Buck. By now, he’s probably the only one that hasn’t figured it out, but Eddie doesn’t mind. In fact, he steers clear of relationship talk when they hang out; he doesn’t want to hear about how fantastic Taylor is, or what new adventures they’ve been up to.
Strangely, it’s Bobby of all people that tells Buck. Or maybe Bobby tells Eddie, he’s not really sure.
They find Bobby cooking when they start a long shift, all of them gliding towards the whiff of glorious food.
“What’s the occasion?” Buck asks as he steals a green bean.
“Nothing really. Just a happy meal with family.” Bobby stirs the giant pot and adds some spices. “With all the break-ups happening around here, I’m almost worried it’s contagious so I figured we needed an easy dinner together.”
Eddie stiffens, but curiously enough so does Buck, shoulders rigid and face neutral. Instead, it’s Chim that speaks next. “What do you mean? Who else has broken up?”
“Well, Pannikar and his boyfriend, Eddie and Ana, and now Buck and Taylor,” Bobby says, gesturing towards each of them in turn. Everyone nods, as if nothing he said is brand new information.
“You and Ana broke up?” The words are almost as quiet as a whisper, meant for Eddie alone while the rest set the table.
Eddie nods. “You broke up with Taylor?”
“Yeah. Or we both did, I’m not sure.” He gets a deep frown between his eyebrows and the tips of Eddie’s fingers itch to smooth it out. He doesn’t. “We’re still friends though.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Buck tilts his head a little bit to the right, gazing at Eddie as if he’s a riddle to solve.
Eddie shrugs. Of course, he knows very well why he didn’t say something to Buck but he can’t tell his best friend that— or can he?
Acting on pure impulse, he takes hold of Buck’s hand and drags him away from the kitchen, down the stairs and into their bunk room. He closes the door behind them, leaning on it, and turns to look at the other man; Buck is standing just out of arm's reach. In Eddie’s stomach someone is dancing the conga in circles, begging him to get the hell out of there before he says too much and ruins it all. He ignores this, swallowing hard.
“Here’s the thing. I’ve been waiting for the right words to come to me, to figure out how to tell you what is apparently very obvious to everyone else. I mean, if I just mention how I changed my will, they all get this look in their eyes, and I know they know. And I don’t understand how you still don’t when I feel as if it’s written on my face.”
Buck is silent, and Eddie can’t even be sure his ramble made any sense whatsoever. He rests the back of his head against the door, waiting for Buck to say something, anything. The urge to get out of there is overwhelming, but the sound of Buck’s breathing is as well— harsh and quick breaths, shallow and full of emotions Eddie can’t place.
“I broke up with Taylor because I think I’m more into you than her,” Buck blurts suddenly, his eyes widening as if he never meant to say any of it.
An urge to laugh bubbles up inside him, but he presses it down. “Buck.” The other man’s eyes snap to his. “I made you the sole guardian of my kid if I die.”
Eddie can’t tell who moves first— maybe they drift at the same time, two planets on a collision course — but somehow they meet in the middle, lips crashing together until it feels as if they’re fused together as one. He nibbles gently at Buck’s bottom lip, a gesture that makes Buck practically purr in response; Eddie can feel the vibration of it underneath his fingers, lying in a soft grip around Buck’s throat.
In retaliation— reward? —Buck shuffles them back until Eddie hits the wall with a soft thump, and the quiet groan that escapes him is out of his control honestly. He can’t believe he ever thought that what he had with Ana was enough, not when this has been here the whole time, just waiting beneath the surface for someone to make the first move.
When the alarm goes off, they don’t separate immediately; instead they sigh apart, Buck letting his forehead fall until it meets Eddie’s.
“We really should talk about this,” Buck says, and he’s so close that his breath sends shivers across Eddie’s body.
“Mhm,” Eddie agrees, opening his eyes to meet Buck’s. “But there will be plenty of time for that later.”
(When they get to the truck, Hen smirks at the pair of them when they get in. Eddie pointedly ignores her, but when his gaze lands on Buck he has to bite the inside of his cheek so as not to smile wide enough to crack his head in two.)
(They get around to talking. Later.)

Staking his claim the human way
This was prompted by the wonderful @smolandangry001! Enjoy!
Fandom: Detroit become human | Ship: Reed900
‚You already had two!‘ ‚Well, so did you, that’s not an argument!’, Tina talked back at Chris. ‘Oh, hey Nines’, she added as the android entered the breakroom. ‘Hello Officer Chen. Officer Miller’, he greeted back, setting Gavin’s mug under the nozzle of the coffee machine. ‘Come on, it’s just a donut!’ ‘Yeah today, but what about tomorrow?’ ‘This is ridiculous’, Chris grumbled and already reached for the package, only for Tina to grab the last remaining donut first and lick it in front of Chris, putting it down afterwards grinning triumphantly. By now Nines was a curious observer of the whole interaction, coffee forgotten. Or maybe postponed, it was Gavin’s coffee after all. But this was far more interesting.
‘You are such a child. Fine, take it. Didn’t want it anyways.’ With a content smile, Tina took a bite out of it and called after him: ‘I will buy you a new one tomorrow, I promise!’ ‘Yeah, whatever.’ Nines cocked his head deep in thought about what he had just witnessed, but finally pressed the button on the machine. ‘What?’, Tina asked with a smirk as he turned towards her to ask his burning questions. Caught off guard by her observation skills, he could only stare at the already half eaten donut in her hand.
‘I just wanted to aks about what you just did. You both wanted it, yet Chris gave up so easily. If a few drops of human saliva really had this effect, no one would touch an envelope. I… I guess this is just another part of human culture that was considered unnecessary for my unit.’ ‘Oh, baby’, Tina cooed. She was likely the only one who didn’t mean it as an offense, but still Nines tensed his shoulders in defiance. ‘How do I explain this… It’s disgusting? I mean, licking something makes it disgusting for any other person except for the one that licked it. It means you have claimed whatever you licked. It’s yours now and everyone will have to accept that.’ Nines frowned, then sighed and took Gavin’s now full mug. ‘You continue to be confusing. Humans have a habit of sharing drinks. Gavin got saliva on this very mug and people aren’t weirded out by that. Also kissing and exchanging body fluids is a form of affection for you. I can’t even begin to understand on what occasion something is considered disgusting and when it’s fine.’ ‘Oh, Nines, don’t worry. Humans are just gross’, Tina giggled. ‘All of us “organics” kinda are.’
Nines could only agree. With maybe a few exceptions, he added thinking about the reason why he had come to the breakroom in the first place.
-
‘Come on, Nines, you have to try it!’ The android sighed and had to repeat himself yet again: ‘Gavin, my model wasn’t intended for human integration in these… manners…’ ‘Bullshit, all people I knew who enlisted in the military drank like a fishes!’, Tina disagreed, heavily relying on the couch to keep herself upright already. ‘Maybe they were human’, Nines sighed with sharp tongue. ‘Refilling my thirium levels through my neck-port is as close as it gets to me drinking something.’ Gavin scrunched up his nose in annoyance. Or was it regret? Maybe a mix of both, he settled on. He was already a little intoxicated, but Nines knew from experience it would get even worse with him. That was the only reason he came along on these “bar nights”, so his human would arrive home safely. Definitely not so he could take care of the man and enjoy how clingy he could get. That… That wasn’t his intention at all.
‘Hey, what about your scanning stuff?’, the man asked then, face lighting up suddenly. Nines took one good look at the cocktail in front of Gavin and started listing off the ingredients of his Caipirinha. ‘No, no, no, stop! Not what I had in mind. Err… you know your blood-licking stuff.’ Nines rolled his eyes. ‘I don’t see how-‘ ‘Nines, just do it’, Tina sighed. ‘Indulge your partner’s desires.’ She said it in a tone that had Nines second guessing her words. From the way Gavin blushed, there definitely had been a second meaning to it, but he couldn’t even begin to figure it out, so he aborted that process before it could really start up. Instead he sighed and took Gavin’s glass, sucking up the tiniest bit of liquid from the straw.
‘And?’ ‘It’s an alcoholic drink.’ ‘Yeah, no shit, how does it taste?’ ‘Gavin, I can’t taste anything.’ ‘Then… Do you like the composition of it?’ ‘If I say yes, will you stop asking me human questions?’, the android sighed. ‘It is consistent with most recipes I can find online, although they used lime juice to save time crushing the lime slices in there.’ ‘Hm, okay, yeah, I didn’t know what I expected’, the man mumbled disappointed. ‘Gonna go for a piss, I’ll be back soon.’
Nines sighed deeply, looking after the human heading for the toilets. ‘Was I too robotic?’ ‘Dude, you are a robot.’ ‘I know, but I could have just said I liked the taste’, he admitted. ‘He would have liked that answer more, even if it was inaccurate.’ ‘You told me it didn’t sit well with you lying to people’, Tina reminded him. ‘I don’t think he put so much thought into it anyways.’ ‘But…’ Nines looked at the drink, the ice melting slowly. ‘I like him, Tina. But I- I’m not human. Hell, I’ve been activated half a year ago, I have no idea what it even means to be human. If I want to be that.’ ‘I don’t think you have to be anything else than you already are. Just maybe… Put a little more effort in showing him you are interested?’ ‘I will try.’
They waited for Gavin to return to the table, but once he finally exited the toilets, he bumped into someone, who immediately began looking him up and down and very obviously started flirting with the Detective. And no matter his self-doubt of being enough and constant thinking about how Gavin maybe was better off with a human, he immediately felt his jealousness flaring up. That was his human. At least until they talked about it and came to a different conclusion. Nines would not let this man that just so much as stumble into him drive his human home tonight. He stood up, ignoring Tina’s questioning look, and marched up to them.
‘Gavin, your drink is warming up’, he reminded his partner, while staring at the offending human. The stranger on the other hand seemed not to notice his piercing eyes. ‘Oh really? Yeah, I’m coming right back, I just met this really handsome fella and-‘ ‘Come on, I think your android knows the concept of a hook-up, am I right?’ Nines went rigid as the man looked up to him and had the audacity to smugly grin at him. But instead of stepping down, this time, he pulled Gavin towards him and licked up his temple, never breaking eye-contact with the stranger that was obviously weirded out and took a few steps backwards. ‘Okay, okay, I didn’t know you were such freaks. You could have said something, you know? Plenty other folks around.’
Triumphantly stepping back from Gavin who was frozen in place, Nines was grinning. He had accurately imitated human behaviour and had been successful! Tina would be proud of him. ‘Err… Nines, what the fuck?’ Nines looked down on his human. ‘What?’ ‘What? What the hell was that?’ ‘I claimed you. I was informed licking was an action to make clear something is yours and no one else can have it.’ ‘You- What?’ ‘Like with a donut.’
Gavin stared at him in utter confusion, then slowly smirked. ‘You know all the stuff about this being completely wrong when talking about something that’s not a donut, … You claimed me? You want no one else to have me?’ Nines pointedly looked away as if making sure the stranger wasn’t coming back. Definitely not to hide his blush. ‘Yes.’ ‘As a hook-up?’ ‘What? No!’ ‘As something more serious then?’ ‘Wha-‘ Nines faced Gavin again knowing he had manoeuvred himself into this. ‘I mean, if you want to, we could try…’ ‘You already licked me’, Gavin shrugged. ‘Can’t get much stranger, I think. Sure, why not? Want to try this out tonight?’ The wiggle of his eyebrows told Nines everything he had to know. ‘I will take you home tonight and tomorrow when you are sober, we will talk about it, okay?’ ‘Alright. But you are no fun.’
Nines sighed deeply escorting Gavin back to the table and his drink. ‘The human concept of “being fun” involves things I neither understand nor want to. But I do would like to have fun with you.’ Gavin smirked and leaned heavily on Nines’ arm. ‘Oh, now I want to know exactly, what the android concept of having fun involves.’

Title: Withheld {One-Shot}***
Chris Evans x Reader
Warning: Some Fluff, NSFW, SMUT, Slight Angst, Lots Of Words
Words: 5.7k
Tumblr media
Note: I had a hard time coming up with something that reader, Y/N would be pissed about without bringing some angst. I began writing this at 6am, so this is what my brain came up with. I hope you all enjoy it.
***Loosely Edited/Proofread***
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Jesus, I can’t wait to see you. it’s been way too long.”
 You smiled as you stared at him on the FaceTime call. You loved being able to hear how much he missed you. he didn’t need to say the actual words, you could tell.
 “I know, six weeks is a long time.”
 On the screen you watched as Chris stretched like a preening cat across your bed. You couldn’t wait to trail your fingers across his chest and play with his chest hair. It had become an unconscious thing you did whenever cuddled in bed together.
 “Remember that pact we made early on when we got married?”
A smirk spread across your face because you knew just what he was talking about. “And what pact is that husband?”
 “Oh you know out after hours vows. Never go to bed angry, never fight about stupid things even if I’m being really stupid.”
 “Never leave the other without a kiss, never go more than four hours without a call or text,” you continued.
 “Uh-huh, keep going.” Chris was now smiling widely showing off every perfect tooth in his perfect mouth. No wonder this man was a movie star and lusted after by nearly ninety-eight percent of the human population.
 “No, you seem to know what you want to get to. By all means husband.”
 “Never go more than three weeks without making love,” Chris finished.
 You nodded knowing this was the vow he meant. you remembered making it. You were two bleary-eyed love drunk fools standing in a tree light beach cottage in Nantucket that was filled with red roses and white lilies of the valley and candles. You both were so disgustingly happy and enamored with each other that you didn’t care that you’d waited the last six weeks to make love hoping to make your wedding night even more special or the fact that you were both more than ready to end that love drought. All you cared about was holding hands and gazing into each other’s eyes to say even more vows, vows that were all unique that held a deeper meaning for the two of you.
 “Did I lose you?”
 You snapped out of your memories and focused back onto Chris. “Sorry, I was back in Nantucket.”
 Chris smiled widely and sighed. “I’m in Nantucket every night and for the better part of my days.”
 “I love you, Evans.” It was the only possible thing you could say. The way he smiled at you made your stomach flutter. After all these years, you were still madly in love with him.
 “I love you more, Evans.”
 The two of you spent the next forty minutes just talking and staring at each other like the two love drunk fools you were the night of your wedding.
  -Four Day Later-
 After working your ass off and rearranging the rest of your obligations you were able to shave off six days of your time away. Unbeknownst to Chris, you were thirty minutes from home and more than ready to show him just how much you’d missed him. Needing a way to contain your anxious energy you finished answering emails and messages to keep yourself busy. When you got home you saw Chris’ car in the roundabout driveway which only increased your excitement.
 After thanking your driver, you quietly climbed the stairs leaving your bags in the foyer. Your only thought was surprising your husband and wrapping your arms and legs around his body. You could almost feel the tightness of his grip around your body. You missed the cocooning warmth and safety you always felt. As you came upon your bedroom door you expected to see him sprawled across the bed with his laptop across his lap. You were disappointed when you found the bedroom empty—he wasn’t there.
 For the next five or so minutes, you searched your seven-bedroom, nine bath home for the love of your life but everywhere you checked you came up empty handed. By the time you thought to check his office, you were already more than a little antsy. The closer you got to the door you could hear sounds from behind it. unable to make it out you stopped in front of it. it was then you heard loud animated moans and cursing. It didn’t take long for those moans to pick up in volume and intensity. You couldn’t believe this.
 You nearly busted down the door from a mixture of excitement, curiosity, and disbelief. As you opened the door and stood in the doorway you saw just what your husband was up to at three in the afternoon. Chris was in a reclining position at his desk, but he was not directly behind it, he was angled diagonally which gave you a full view of what was happening. The moans intensified in the way a performing porn actress would carry on and there was Chris with his head tilted back, eyes shut, mouth ajar just going at it.
 You stood there and watched with a clenched jaw. This would have been sexy as hell under any other circumstance, but the current circumstances were less than ideal. Chris’ moans and whimpers overcast those of the porn stars he was watching, and you watched on as he bit his bottom lip and sped his hand. He was close, you knew all his tells.
Sure enough, you watched him shoot stream after stream into the air only for it to come splattering back down onto his fisted hand and navy-blue polo shirt. His grunts were staggered as he arched his back from his chair. Thirty seconds in and he was still coming. Chris released a long groan while squeezing his length as he stroked up. His eyes opened and it was then he jumped and lurched forward in complete and utter shock from the recycling diagonal position he was in.
 “Y/N,” Chris yelped out as he frantically reached for the iPad that was on the desk.
 It should have been an amusing sight, him, pants mid-thigh, dick poking straight out like a lightsaber, hands covered in white jizz that also decorated his shirt, but it was not amusing. You were pissed. You’d just caught your husband watching porn and jerking off.
 “Baby--,” Chris began with a look on his face that spoke of shame, embarrassment, and regret.
 “Save it, Christopher!”
 You spun on your heels and walked back down the hall you’d just came from.
 “Y/N, wait. Ouch! Fuck!” You heard a loud bang, things falling and rustling as you made your way up the stairs to your bedroom not caring if he’d seriously hurt himself. He could handle it himself.
 When you made it to the room, you stripped and made your way into the shower. The flight was a long one and you needed to release some newly added stress. A few minutes into your shower in came Chris.
 “Baby,” he began. You felt the breeze when he opened the shower door and you glared at him.
 “Get out.”
 “What? Come on, don’t be that way.”
 “Get out Christopher!” For emphasis, you elbowed him in his rib. Chris groaned and staggered back making the shower door bang shut. You ignored him and continued to take your shower.
 “Darlin’—I missed you.”
 “Whatever! Try saying that when you’re not wearing your Scarlet letter all across the front of your shirt,” you speared at him. Chris looked at the front of his shirt to see the speckled spots of half dried come.
 “Shit.” With that, he was out of the bathroom. Rolling your eyes, you practiced your meditation breathing. This man was going to make you go off.
 After barely two minutes he was back in a fresh white tee. “Baby look, I’m sorry. I was missing you something terrible and I kept thinking about you and before I knew it I was hard and wanting you. I don’t even know what happened.”
 “What happened was you decided to search through a porn site and watch porn to jerk off to. That is what happened Christopher. Remember those after hour vows that you brought up a few days ago?”
Chris hung his head. He remembered very well. “Y/N--.”
 “No. It was you who brought it up, you vowed neither of us would turn to porn for anything, that we would turn to each other. Why else did we make those random videos?! You decided to say fuck that and turn to some other woman who is acting. You had our videos!”
 “Fuck! I know, I didn’t think baby. I just—.” He stuttered as if he couldn’t find the right words, or he didn’t know what to say. After a few tries, he sighed out and hung his head again. “I’m sorry.”
 “Get out! You know how I feel about porn. Get out!” The second time you shouted louder. He didn’t protest at all; he simply turned and gave you your wish.
 In all your years married you’d never watched porn. There was a once in a blue moon you watched it together when you were dating as a means for foreplay, but it quickly faded when you began to feel a little weird about it wondering if he was more turned on by the women he saw or if it was you who did the trick. After a heartfelt chat, he agreed without hesitation to cut it out completely while reassuring you that you were the source of all his desire and arousal. Not only had he watched it just now, but you’d watched him find his release from it. Not you. As far as you were concerned you were rightfully and justifiably angry.
 You stayed in the shower longer than you normally would have. By the time you came out, it was a little after six. You were hoping Chris wasn’t in the room when you came out and were relieved when you got your wish. You wanted to just go to sleep but hunger prevented it. As you were about to walk out to find some food, Chris walked in carrying bags from your favorite restaurant.
“I got dinner. I was planning on cooking for you when you got back but I wasn’t prepared tonight.”
 “Clearly you had a one-track mind.” Chris sighed but didn’t respond to your snide remark.
 Instead, he put the bags down and began piling the containers of food onto the bed. The smells that filled the room were delectable. Your mouth watered from the scent of the garlic and basil. If it wasn’t for that you would have walked off, but you were not a fool to ignore your favorites. You went over to your side of the bed, got comfortable and dug in. Chris knew you were pissed so he didn’t bother making small talk though you knew it killed him.
You knew he wanted to talk about your trip and fall back into the comfortable groove that you always resided in. When he allowed you to pick show after show, you knew he felt the gravity of his mistake. Still, you didn’t speak, didn’t attempt to console him or even unburden him with the blessing of your forgiveness. You decided you’d let him suffer.
 By the time one rolled around you ignored him some more and turned your back to go to sleep. His sigh was a heavy one and if you were nicer you may have said good night, but you didn’t give a shit about pleasantries.
 “Baby,” Chris began as he shifted his body in the bed. You could tell he now faced you on his side.
 “Leave me alone before I make you sleep in the guest room, Christopher.”
 His response was a mixture of a deflated sigh and a frustrated groan but he didn’t protest. He knew better than to push you closer to the edge.
 The next day was not a normal day in your household. Normally you’d have a loved up breakfast in bed and then a steamy shower before you separated for the day if you both had work to do, or you’d lounge in the house together never being more then a few feet apart. That was not the case. you went about your business in your office while Chris kept clear of you. any attempt he made your response was dullness. You didn’t reciprocate or encourage; it was simple appeasement.
 He brought you your favorite breakfast, you didn’t acknowledge him when he came in. He brought you lunch, again you ignored him. He tried to make small talk you busied yourself. Through it all, he didn’t give up or slink away except to lick his wounds only to return again to continued trying. You were impressed but still not amused. So the day passed with minimal conversation between you unless it was about work or the household.
 “So you’re just going to ignore me now?”
 Something in his voice made you look up to acknowledge him. You didn’t even realize the sun had set or that he wore one of your favorite colors on him. Chris had an expectant look on his face that somehow still showed his timidness.
 “We haven’t seen each other physically in weeks, almost two months and you’re just going to ignore me? I let it go last night and most of today but come on, Y/N. We have to talk. We promised we wouldn’t go to bed angry.”
 Taking a slow deep breath, you leaned back in your chair. “I’m not angry.”
 “The hell you’re not. You walked in on me jerking off to porn. You’re angry.”
 “Glad you’ve entered the admittance stage of your shame, but nope, not angry.”
 Chris rolled his eyes then crossed his arms. It was the truth, you weren’t angry. You were pissed. He stared you down as if he expected you to quake underneath the penetration of his sky blue eyes.
 “I just find it funny how you’re not okay with me breaking a vow but you’re pretty glib when you do it.”
 “I’m sorry, okay. I fucked up. I didn’t plan it and I honestly don’t know how I ended up on the site anyway. I didn’t do it to hurt you or even give it any deep thought. It was a muscle reaction,” Chris explained.
 “So it’s a muscle reaction to go searching for other naked women rather than scroll through your library for pictures and videos of the one you married?”
 He walked inside and perched at the edge of your desk then leaned to you taking your hand in his much larger one. He didn’t speak for a few moments, both of you realizing this was the first time you’d touched in weeks. Everything in you wanted to melt into him and fall back into place and from the look on his face, you could tell he wanted the same thing.
 “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you. I never want to hurt you. tell me you believe that, princess.”
 “Of course I know you don’t want to hurt me, Chris. Just because you don’t want to do something doesn’t mean you haven’t hurt me though.”
 He nodded fully understanding and accepting it. “I don’t want any of that I swear to you. None of them do it for me. You know that. I just--.”
 “Needed something different, someone, different?”
 “No. God, no. I like what I have—I love what I have. I don’t need anything different. How can I when we’re always changing things up. I want you and you alone.”
 You studied him and searched his eyes for any hint of a lie. You didn’t find one, but it didn’t make everything okay.
 “I know that doesn’t make everything okay,” Chris spoke as if he read your mind.
 “Let me make it up to you.” He pulled your hand, rolling you to him. “Please.” Chris brought his lips to you and you were powerless to move or stop him, so you allowed him to kiss you, allowed him to tease your lips and your tongue and make your belly do somersaults. You quickly lost yourself and began to give in. when you felt his hand on your thigh you rolled back away from him.
 “I have work to do.” Focusing back onto your laptop and what you were doing before he came in you forced yourself to keep your eyes straight ahead and not on him. After almost a minute he stood and walked out without another word.
Over the next few days, Chris didn’t stop his attempts to get closer or remedy the wrong he’d done. He was ever the attentive husband and the caring partner. He cooked every night if he could, left you sweet notes around the house that spoke of what he loved about you or how much he loved you. he also never stopped trying to get physically closer.
By the middle of the week, he’d upped his game from sweet kisses on your forehead, cheek, and lips to deep soulful kisses out of the blue. Now he was up to backing you onto any nearby wall, pressing his body against yours and trying to kiss the breath from your lungs. He was doing a damn good job with tempting you but still, you refused every advance he made before it got anywhere close to sex.
 If his hand roamed your body you pulled it away, if you felt his arousal you walked away. At night when you went to sleep every time he cuddled closer you got up and went to the bathroom only to come back with your body pillow. When you realized it was an automatic deterrent you began sleeping with it every night to Chris’ dismay. By Thursday it was amusing the tactics he deployed. He was motivated and determined, and every rejection and refusal only made him even more so.
 You weren’t angry anymore; it had drastically reduced over the week. The more discomfort you saw Chris in the more amusement it brought you. A punishment was not supposed to be enjoyable. You wondered how long he’d go without bringing it up because you knew he’d realized you were refusing him on purpose as a punishment. He still had yet to bring it up even though you knew for a fact he’d taken several cold showers because of his arousal.
 The night you walked in on him in the shower, you saw the extent of his discomfort. He was standing under the stream of cold water with an evident hard-on and his head hung, and shoulders slumped. His junk wasn’t blue per se but it definitely didn’t look normal. Instantly, you felt horrible. When he turned and your eyes met you opened your mouth to speak but nothing came out. You walked out of the bathroom instead.
 Almost an hour later Chris came out with a towel wrapped around his waist only to disappear again out of the bedroom door. When he came back he was dressed and walking slower with his legs in a wider stance. As he settled beside you, you fought off the urge to snicker.
 “Are you okay?”
 “Fine.” His answer was terse and a complete lie.
 “I saw you in the shower, Chris.”
 “If you saw me in the shower then you know how I am. You bringing it up now is not an inquiry about my wellbeing it is spite and for your own amusement.”
 He was right. Damn it, you thought. You hated that he knew you so well.
 “A week, Y/N. A week and you’ve been pushing me away every chance you get. No matter what I do or what I say. I’m losing my mind here and you don’t seem to even care.” As he spoke you could see the uneasiness rising up in him, he’d reached his breaking point. You didn’t speak as he continued to rant, you just let him get it all out.
 After almost five minutes he was silent again with a clenched jaw and his hands cupping his junk. He looked so sad like he’d lost his best friend and wanted revenge for it.
 “So—was the porn and nut worth it?” the look he gave you was filled with so much aggression you just had to laugh. It was meant to be a small little giggle, but it came out as a full on obnoxious holler that turned into a cackle with you wiggling your legs in the air. Chris grunted loudly and began rising from the bed. Normally it would have been a quick action but tonight it was a strategic multi- step maneuver that only made you laugh louder. He was not amused. He walked out of the bedroom with your laughter still lingering in the air.
 By Saturday you were ready to end his punishment because though it was one for him it was also one for you. You were struggling too; you were in pain. It had now been eight weeks since you were together, and you were tired of waiting. Chris was gone for morning and most of the afternoon visiting his family and a couple friends. He didn’t ask you if you wanted to go with him, no doubt needing time away from you. You weren’t bothered by it because it gave you time to get yourself ready and make it a night for him to remember.
 After running some errands and picking up ingredients for dinner and come candles and novelty items you returned home to begin prep seduction night. By three he hadn’t returned yet which gave you even more time to get yourself together. Six rolled around and Chris was still not home, it was then you called him, a call he didn’t answer so you texted. Ten minutes went by without a response and your mood was quickly souring.
 When you saw his headlights light up your roundabout driveway you’d finished cooking and prepping had opened a bottle of wine and were on your third glass and had been waiting for almost forty minutes. You were annoyed especially since the only response he’d sent to you via text was “soon.” When you asked when he would be home, his answer was “soon”. When you asked if he was almost home, he sent “soon”. You were ready to throw your phone from frustration.
 You heard the front door open and then heard it slam shut forcefully and that was the last straw. “This is soon, Christopher!”
 As you spun around to confront him, you only saw his face momentarily before he threw you over his shoulder. You squealed but didn’t have enough time to react before he was throwing you across the kitchen island right onto your back.
 “What the hell are you doing!”
 “I realized; I’ve been approaching this all wrong. Normally when you have an attitude and start acting like a brat as you’ve been doing for the last few days I respond differently. I’ve been tiptoeing and being submissive. I am not submissive, Y/N. I’ve been doing the opposite of what I should have been doing.” His voice was deep and completely dominating.
 “Which is what, throwing me across a counter?”
 “No, fucking it out of you.” Your jaw dropped. Holy hell, you thought. He’d truly reached his breaking point; this was it and you were fucked.
 “Chris--.” It was a warning, a warning you hoped would deter him from doing what every fiber of his being was telling him to do. Your warning did absolutely nothing. Using his thighs, he pushed your already parted legs further apart while using his hands to pin yours to the island. You recognized the look in his eyes you hadn’t seen it in a while. He was tired of your games, your teasing, your torture, and your neglect.
 For the first time Chris looked over your body and noticed the silk floral robe you wore that was practically falling off of you already. It was then he realized you were fully naked. “On the drive here, I thought about making this torturous for you, going so slow you’d feel my pain of seven days plus the six weeks before. I thought about new ways to deprive you of the release I know you desperately want. I came up with quite a few things, but I’ve changed my mind. Slow isn’t enough of a punishment. Instead, I think the opposite will do quite well.” His smirk was devious, but it didn’t scare you. You knew he would never physically hurt you or do anything you didn’t want. You were that in tune.
 Chris let your wrists go then took one step back. “On your knees, Y/N and I dare you to talk back.” Despite every instinct telling you to do it and see what he does, you knew it wasn’t a good idea. The ho in you wanted to act out and get crippled, the practical you knew you had to walk tomorrow. You slipped off the counter and dropped to your knees before him. you could see his need urgently pressing against his jeans. After a few moments, you peeked up at him.
 “This isn’t your first time Y/N, don’t act like you don’t know what to do.”
 You bit your bottom lip and slowly began undoing his jeans. You weren’t doing it to tease him, you were honestly nervous right now. It was always a dicey game of punishing your husband, especially in a way by with-holding sex. The outcome could have been a nice roll in the hay afterward or a downright back breaking night. It looked like you were in for the latter. Once he was free his groan was deep and strangled. All along his shaft and balls, there were violent looking purplish veins. You couldn’t stop your grimace.
 “Looks painful, right? Interesting that a married man would get blue balls, especially deliberate blue balls from his wife.”
 You couldn’t stop the retort before it slipped out, “So I guess jerking off to porn wasn’t worth it after all. I’d say said married man deserved everything he got from said wife, blue balls included.” Chris’ lips smiled but his eyes darkened. Before you knew it he was pulling you to your feet before he pushed you into the island bending you over so your ass was poking right out for him.
 “That’s fair. Just remember seven is the lucky number and since you love it so much, blue balls is the magic word,” Chris sneered into your ear. You could feel the weight of him as he hunched over you and used his fingers to circle your opening. He growled then.
 “You’re soaking wet already. Who were you really punishing sweetheart, me or you?” You refused to answer that, you didn’t want to give him the satisfaction. “It’s okay, I already know.” There was no warning before he slowly sank into you. For the first few inches, it was painfully slow until he slammed into you to the hilt pulling a screech from you.
 “Fuck!” His shout echoed off the walls and shook you making your legs tremble.
 Chris didn’t bother giving you a moment to adjust, you really didn’t need it. You needed more but you were sure you couldn’t take what was coming. Chris set an early pace and it was fast, deep, and hard. Every snap forward of his hips had you grunting and lurching making your head snap back and forth. It didn’t take long before you were panting and moaning enjoying every second of the fuck you’d been dying for.
 Chris grabbed your arms and held them behind you angling your upper half up propelling him even deeper. “Fuck!”
 “Mmm, you feel this dick, Y/N? Do you feel it?” You nodded unable to find your voice. Chris continued delivering his brutal thrusts that made precise connection with your g-spot. You knew you were seconds from coming and you knew when you did your strength would go with it.
 “Shit, shit, shit! Oh god!”
 Chris began rotating his hip drilling his hardness against your walls and every crevice of you. A shiver broke free and brought with it your release that was a deafening scream and weakened limbs. Chris was there to hold you steady though. If you lived closer to people they might have called the police from thinking you were being murdered.
 “Oh my god, yes Chris! Fuck me! Don’t fucking stop!” He lifted one of your legs and plopped it onto the island giving him a new angle and an impossible depth that you were not prepared for. Jerking from him you gasped but he wasn’t having it. Chris held you in place and brought you to him by pulling your arms back.
 “Don’t run from this dick sweetheart. Take every—fucking—inch!” As he spoke he pressed forward even more stealing all your breath. You were left he’d in the air with your mouth hung open without a sound coming out. He groaned in your ear then bit your lobe to suck it in his mouth before it slipped out.
 “Look at me, darlin’.” You looked back to him to see his teeth firmly clenching his bottom lip. the look in his eyes was a conflicting one, one that spoke of gentleness and love but also of revenge and passion. One thing you didn’t see in them was control—he had none now.
 “I love you, princess.”
 Once he got the words out he proceeded to murder your pussy with deliberate, deep, hard thrusts that never slowed, or faded in intensity. From then on out you were a screaming mess. After what felt like an eternity but had turned out to be nothing but short minutes your voice was gone and you’d somehow managed to come three more times. Chris moved as if he weren’t even human at this point. He should have come a long time ago and be passed out, but he was still going, still sending your eyes to the back of your head. You felt him turn your body so you were now on your side with your plopped up leg resting on his shoulder. It was yet another angle that you couldn’t handle. When your hand flew to his belly to push him back his was there to stop you. Your eyes locked with his but the only thing he did was shake his head.
 “Fuck!”
“Was your little game worth it?” He smirked as he said it and you knew he was mocking you. Instead of giving you a chance to respond he snapped his hips forward and ground into you once again sending your eyes to the back of your head. You held onto his hand for dear life.
 Every time your eyes met it only made the moment that much more powerful. Even through revenge punishment fucking the love you felt for each other was evident, and the connection between you was always so strong. Chris bent to you and kissed you to demonstrate the passion that you prayed would never fade between you. You kissed him back with everything you had holding his head to you. You began to meet him for every thrust he delivered. As you kissed his eyes locked with yours and the vulnerability you saw there with each wave of your body fueled you to take even more. You clenched tightly around him and felt him spear you twice then a third before he broke your kiss and shouted along with you as he poured every drop of himself inside of you to join your release.
 For several long minutes, the two of you just laid there on the counter. He had his head resting on your breast but didn’t dare pull from your body. When you felt him stir you also felt the ache between your legs. “Oh god,” you whispered with hoarseness. Chris slowly pulled back from you and yelped once he pulled out. You instantly felt the emptiness and with it brought the pain of through fucking. You dropped your hands to your crotch.
 “Tell me, was it worth it?” You glared at him then rolled your eyes, there was no need to answer. You honestly didn’t know which one to give.
 “Fuck, I’m still hard,” Chris informed. Your eyes dropped to his still hard cock and it didn’t look any less violent and intimidating. As he moved to slide back into you, you scurried backward locking your legs hoping to deter him.
 “Woah, hold your fucking horses. Jesus Christ Evans, give me a fucking minute.”  Scrunching your face you allowed the pain to show. “Oh my god.”
 “Are you okay?”
 “Are you really asking me that right now? This is what you wanted. You wanted to teach me a lesson by fucking me into submission. Congratulations Sir Fucksalot!” Chris snorted and laughed making you laugh with him. He stepped to you and kissed your cheek and forehead.
 “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to go off like that. I just—I couldn’t control myself. I lost it.”
 “I know, I saw it. It’s fine. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have used sex as a weapon.”
 “I deserved it and no it wasn’t worth it. I’m sorry.” The two of you warmly smiled at each other before pressing your foreheads together for a tender moment. In the sweetness of the moment, the thud of his hard dick brought you both back.
 “Jesus Chris, keep him under control. This pussy is out of service and closed for healing.” You slipped off the island and slowly walked out of the kitchen.
 “Wait, what!? For how long? Y/N, you can’t leave me like this.”
 “For as long as it takes, an hour, a day, a week. Who knows.”
 “Y/N.”
 “Mm-Mn Chris I don’t wanna hear it. you should have thought about that before you went full on super soldier mode.”
 You slowly climbed the stairs and played up the pain. It hurt of course but it wasn’t excruciating. This was not the first time he’d fucked you like the world was ending. You knew you’d be fine in a few hours. Chris came up behind you, scooped you in his arms and planted a kiss on your cheek.
 “You know what they say, the only way to get over the pain is to push through it.” You snorted and laughed with him joining in as he continued to make his way to your bedroom.
Russian Roulette - Pt. 7
Tumblr media
I think this one is the most cutest until now.
In this series, you will find: Alternative Universe, Soulmate plot, Angst, Fluff. In this chapter, you will find: You were actually right about Derek's location, which makes things a lot weirder for you. However, you can forget about it a little by spending time with him. Word count: 1.806 Pairings: Reader x Platonic! Scott and Stiles; Reader x Derek Original characters of this chapter: None. Warnings: English is not my main language <3 Yeah, it was based on Russian Roulette by Rihanna Russian Roulette series: Chapter Six | Chapter Eight RUSSIAN ROULETTE MASTERLIST TEEN WOLF MASTERLIST
Following your senses, you were driving to the old Hale house. Your hands were shaking in nervousness and fear, and your eyes were wet with tears that trace a path in your face. You are completely terrified, and the scenes of the meeting with Peter and Stiles - to confirm if Derek is really trapped in the old Hale house - were running through your mind.
"Yeah," Stiles said, directing his gaze from the laptop to you, scared "(Y/N)'s hunch is right."
"Of course it is right..." Peter said, looking at you.
You were shivering of fear. You didn't have an idea of what is happening to you, and that was really scary. It could be anything!
Stiles approaches you, so scared as you.
"How did you know?"
"I-I didn't know, Stiles. I just had that dream, and..."
"Do you felt something in the full moon?"
"No! No, I'm completely human, I'm pretty sure about it."
"So what's happening?"
"I don't know!"
Peter walked far from both of you, and he looks to Stiles.
"Stay here, Stilinski. And you" Peter points his finger to you, throwing you the keys of his car "I'll be waiting for you there. I could tell you where the house is, but I know you'll be able to find it yourself."
And there you are: Driving Peter's car. He was right, after all. You saw the house far away, and you park the car. You saw Scott running from Allison's arrows, while the woman of your dream - Kate - was looking proudly for her. You could help Scott, but you need him to maintain they distracted. Knowing Scott would listen to you, you said:
"Scott, keep them busy. I'll take care of Derek."
You wipe away the tears from your face and breathe in, trying to feel something. Following your instincts, you find an old gate and opens it, getting into a dimly lit corridor. You recognize that door: It was the door from your dream.
Trying to avoid the memories of your dream, you open the door. A man with a baseball bat turns himself in your direction, clearly not expecting to see you there. Derek was trapped by his wrists. The trapped werewolf and the room were just like as they had been in your dream.
The man narrowed his eyes for you.
"You are not with the Argents."
"No, I'm not."
The man hits you with the baseball bat, but you dodge his attack when you duck. You hit his nose with your elbow, and he staggered backward with his hand on his bleeding nose.
"Argh! You broke my nose!"
"Sorry!"
In a complete rage, he moves his bat again, trying to hit you. With your both hands you hold the bat and kick his knee, making him fell with one of his knees on the floor. You pull his bat to you, letting the man unarmed. Then, you hit the man with the bat on his head, and he fell on the floor, unconscious. You grope the hunter's body until you find the key that would set Derek free. When you found it, you ran to him.
"I was not expecting you here," He said to you while you were unlocking the chains that held him "but good job."
"Scott said you are with Peter now. I thought he had killed your sister."
Derek deviates his eyes from yours and walks in the door's direction.
"He was just out of control."
"Hey" You hold his wrist, and he looks at you, impatient "Look, I know we don't know each other so long, but I know Peter is everything that remained of your family. But you need to be careful, Derek. Are you sure Peter didn't kill your sister for his own benefit?"
His thoughtful green eyes ran through the room. Then, you could feel the rage in his eyes.
"She was an Alpha."
You left his wrist and cross your arms.
"This is a good reason, don't you think?"
Derek let out a long sigh.
"Thank you. I owe you one."
You gave him a soft smile.
"That's my line, Hale."
You and Derek finally arrive at the facade of the old Hale house. You saw Allison's dad unconscious on the floor, and a few roars inside of the old house. Derek did not hesitate to enter the house, and you ran in Chris Argent's direction. You put yourself on your knees close to him, putting your hand on his face.
"Wake up, please, please, don't be dead."
You approach your ear on his chest and, yeah, you can hear his heart beating.
"Thank god!"
You hold his jacket and drag him to a safe place. Suddenly, you saw Scott being thrown out of the house and falling on the floor. Then, Peter walks out of the house, and you pull your gun from inside your jacket, pointing to him.
"Why are you pointing this thing to me? I thought we were family now."
Peter approaches you and holds your wrist with such strength, that you let your gun fell in pain. Afterward, he holds your neck and throws you through the air. Everything got black after this.
This time, you are not in your bedroom.
You open your eyes and find yourself lying on a bed. It was still night outside - you saw through the large windows that let in the soft light of the moon. You sat on the bed and look around.
You had never been that place, and that was not a dream.
You stand up from the bed and walk through the room, trying to find out where you are. Then, you find a spiral ladder. You want to find out what this place is, so you go downstairs and start to listen to a familiar voice.
"Yeah, she's okay. She just woke up, don't worry. I'll call you tomorrow. Bye."
Derek was in front of a desk, back to you. When he finished the call, he turns and looks at you.
"You okay?"
"Yeah. You okay?"
He gave you a soft smile, and you remembered the day you met each other in the car accident. You return the smile, feeling your face burning while wondering if he remembered that day too.
"Yeah, I'm okay."
Oh, that smile... You felt your heart fail a beat for a second. Well, he was pretty handsome, and you couldn't understand why Stiles complains about him so much. You could feel kindness on Derek, after all. He took care of Scott and Stiles too, the same you do.
"Well, look at you, saving me for the second time."
You cross his arms looking at him. He shook his head in denial, without wipe his smile away from his face.
"You were not in danger. Actually, I think you can handle yourself."
"Oh, really? Thank God, I don't wanna be a princess in danger."
"You're not. You're pretty brave."
Oh Gosh, you can't stop of feel your cheeks burning.
"Thank you." You said, looking down at your feet. You didn't remember any guy having this effect on you. Actually, it is hard to find a man who doesn't make you feel bored. Trying to control your own feelings, you look at him. "What happened to Peter?"
"He's dead. I had killed him." Derek said, sitting on the couch. "You don't have to worry about him."
You look at him with regret. After all, you know he is completely by himself.
"Oh..." You sat on the couch, close to him. "I'm sorry."
His face was serious this time.
"It's okay. I did what I have to."
"I know. I think I can understand you partly. I know you're alone and completely by yourself, and I am too. I don't have anyone here, and I'm far away from home. It's lonely sometimes. But, look: You did the right thing."
"I'm used to loneliness."
"I think you don't have to. Actually, I think you shouldn't. No one should be used to loneliness, you know?"
You and Derek had more things in common than both of you thought. The independence, courage, loyalty, loneliness... But you had a thing he didn't have: You were full of light and had a strong will to live. Derek, on other hand, was just surviving day by day. He doesn't know what it's like to have a light life, and you could show it to him.
"I think it's a fair way to think, but not so smart." He said, crossing his arms and raising the walls around him, who would avoid you to come too close of his heart.
"Why you think that?"
"I think it could get you weak."
"But thinking that way isn't living. It's just survival."
"When you are like me, it's all you think about."
Your heart ached a little bit. Well, in fact, survival definitely was a thing he needs to worry about. There were a lot of hunters out there wanting his head. But, then, you got an idea.
"Well, I think you can get the best of two worlds: Living and still survive."
He arched his eyebrows, with a soft smile on his lips.
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah, and I'll show you."
You stood up from the couch and goes to the laptop on the table. You put on Spotify a song: Garota de Ipanema, from Tom Jobim.
"You know, Derek," You said, approaching him and taking his wrist, pulling him so he stood up "I know how to dance a, uh.. how do you say it? Balloon dancing?"
Derek stood up, letting escape a weak chuckle, finding your English mistake really funny.
"I think you want to say 'Ballroom dancing'"
Oh. You felt your cheeks burning again. You absolutely hate when you say something wrong. Derek, otherwise, found it cute.
"God, those words are exactly the same!"
"No, it's not."
"Balloon? Ballroom?" You tried to say, failing to recognize the difference between both of them. "Okay, I'll call it 'Balloon dancing'. God, Derek! I'll need to teach English to a native speaker?" You said, laughing and a little bit embarrassed.
He let out a low chuckle, following you to the middle of the living room.
"What kind of 'Balloon dancing' will you teach me?"
"I'd learned to dance the samba before learning ballet, So... Let's go, I'll teach you samba."
That night, the loft was filled with loud laughs and music. Both of you had danced all night long, letting all of your worries hidden in the most deeper parts of your minds. The truth was simple: No one of you really wanted that night was over. It was not just because both of you were having fun. It was because both of you felt alive.
Derek just can't wait to feel it one more time.
Tumblr media
(New York City, six years later)
 “Alright, here we are, welcome to your new office, Ms. Y/L/N.”
 “Wow, its bigger than I imagined. Nice change from the cubicle back at my old firm.” You joked, looking around the room. It was modest, but it was your own, a fact that filled you with immense pride.
 “Well, you’re a senior associate now.” Your new boss replied, “Get used to it.”
 +++
After your boss had left, you used the short moment of quiet to set up some personal items on your desk before the real work started.
 There was one framed picture of you and your best friends, taken when you all graduated from Georgetown Law, arms around each other, smiling at the camera. The next one showed you and your parents, you had just passed the bar exam and your mum was looking like she had been crying just moments before the photo was taken. The last one was a collage the colleagues from your old law firm in DC had given to you as a good-bye-gift.
You had worked there for over two years and had loved it, but when you got the opportunity to work for one of the countries most renowned law firms, you had packed your bags and moved to New York City without a second thought.
The city was still a bit overwhelming, but this job was the career launch pad you had waited for, and you were excited to finally get started.
 There was a knock on the door of your office, pulling you out of your thoughts. A friendly looking young man appeared, quickly introducing himself as one of the firms’ paralegals.
 “We all gather for the morning meeting in the conference room in five minutes. The boss will introduce you and maybe already set you up with your first tasks.” he told you, “Just follow me, I’ll show you the way.”
The meeting room was already packed with people, and of course everyone was looking at you, the newcomer. You tried to appear confident, smiling at the new faces even though your heart was almost jumping out of your chest.
The boss introduced you to the other employees and started to go through the current cases. There was a lot of financial law, mergers and stuff, but the firm had a very broad operation field, and you hoped to be assigned to an environmental or human rights case sooner or later.
When the meeting was over, the boss asked you to stay behind.
 “You’re new here, Ms. Y/N, so I’m going to assign you a pro-bono case first. This is how we operate at our firm.”
You nodded in agreement, this was standard practice.
 “One of our other senior associates has already been assigned to this one, but its more work than we expected, so I figured he could use some help. That way you can familiarize yourself with how we work here, and your next case will be your own. Understood?”
 “Yes Sir.” You replied, trying not to be disappointed. You were eager to work with your own client, but getting some help from a colleague maybe wasn’t the worst idea. Also you could use a friend at this new place, and nothing was better for that than working on tough case together.
“So, who will I be working with?”
 Your boss looked around the people still filtering out of the conference room with a scowl on his face.
“Technically, he should be around here somewhere. I bet he’s late again, always the same shit. If he wasn’t so good at his job, I would have fired him ages ago.”
“Apologies, boss, I wish I could say that it won’t happen again.” A loud voice called out from behind you.
You felt like someone had slapped you in the face. You would recognize this arrogant tone everywhere.
 You whirled around and came face to face with Chris Cuomo.
 +++
“You?” The both of you said simultaneously, voices full of disbelief.
He looked different, the boyish features were gone, his jawline was sharper and his hair shorter. What was still there was his damn arrogant stance, the way he had strutted in here almost an hour to late and got away with a cocky reply told you everything you needed to know. This was still the same insolent guy who, for some reason, still got admired by everyone. How could fate screw you over like that?
“Oh, you already know each other, splendid.” Your boss exclaimed, “Christopher, Ms. Y/L/N is our newest senior associate. I assigned her to help you with your current case, show her how we work around here, would you?”
You had to give it to Chris, he didn’t even flinch. “Absolutely, Sir. Follow me.” He said, directed at you. He left so fast, you had to hurry to keep up with his big strides.
“Could you maybe wait a second.” You called after him, but he totally ignored you, walking towards a door at the end of the hallway.
 You followed him into what you supposed was his office. It was a bit larger than yours, with a view over the skyline instead of the alley behind the building.
Once you were inside the room, Chris slammed the door shut behind you.
 “What the hell are you doing here?” he hissed, looking incredibly annoyed now.
“What do you mean? I’m working here, Cuomo, I started today.”
 Chris ran his hand over his face and fell into the chair behind his desk.
 “Look, this won’t work. I’ve been on this case for weeks now, and I won’t let you interfere with it.”
 You stopped for a moment. Chris Cuomo, working on a pro bono case for weeks?
 “Why are you being so difficult about this? It’s a pro bono. Why don’t trust you with a real client anyway?” you asked, and were surprised how superficial and mean that sounded even to your own ears. How did he still bring out the worst side of you, even after you hadn’t seen him for years?
 “Not that it’s any of your concern, but they want to make me a junior partner soon. I’ve been here for four years, they hired me right out of law school. I’m one of the best attorneys employed here and I specifically asked for this case because I care about the people involved. So you can either help me and give those clients the attention and energy they deserve or I’ll have your ass out of here in less than a week.” he was almost yelling by now, fists clenched on his desk and you took a step back in face of his anger.
“Alright, I am sorry, no need to be so hostile.” You murmured. “Give me an overview and we can get started.”
 +++
The case was about two young men from Queens who were accused of robbing a drugstore. Chris insisted that they were victims of racial profiling and weren’t guilty of the charges, they had just been in the wrong place at the wrong time.
 “They are telling the truth, I just know it.” Chris replied when you asked him how he could be so sure, and the tone of his voice made you refrain from questioning him any further.
He had given you a short, clipped outline of the case and now there were tons of files you had to read to get up to date.
 After about two hours of working next to each other in tense silence, you decided to extend an olive branch to Chris.
 “So, how have you been, Cuomo? Never heard from you again after Yale.”
 Chris looked up from the file he was reading, shooting you a wary glance across the table.
 “I went to Fordham, got my JD, passed the bar and started working here. I didn’t think you’d ever want to hear from me again. I’m not sure if you remember, but we didn’t exactly get along.” He replied, his voice was hard and his posture rigid, as if it made him extremely uncomfortable to even talk to you.
You sighted, debating what to say next.
“We didn’t, I hated you, in fact.”
Chris face gave the tiniest flinch and you mentally slapped yourself. Why had you just said that?
“Sorry, that was totally insensitive. I don’t hate you, not anymore. We were almost kids back then, and I was self-righteous so many times. I’m sorry for that, I just hope we can act like professionals now and try to get along, for the sake of the clients.”
 “I can manage that if you do.” Chris mumbled, and got back to reading the files, effectively ending the conversation.
 +++
 Working alongside Chris went better than expected, even if it often was hard work to engage him in conversation. You had always assumed that he was one of the most self-centered people ever, but he spent most of his time at the office, pouring all of his energy into a pro bono case, so maybe that wasn’t true after all.
A paralegal had revealed to you that the two men you were defending were from the neighborhood Chris was raised in and knowing that made you more sympathetic towards him.
 You had thought about him from time to time during the past years, but always pictured him as one of those attorneys without morals who would walk over dead bodies to win a case. But he wasn’t. He was relentless, yes, but for the right reasons, and you started to admire him for his dedication to the cause.
 +++
In the following weeks, the initial icy atmosphere between the two of you had thawed and Chris became more approachable.
He was still arrogant and insufferable, but had matured in a way that really surprised you. By now you were even having private conversations during your short lunch breaks, bantering back and forth, but in a friendly way.
Right now, he was ranting about the current season of the Mets. You had no clue about baseball, but the way his eyes lit up when he was explaining something he was passionate about was mesmerizing.
 “You look like a fish, Y/N, don’t pretend you know anything about baseball, I can see right through you.” Chris chuckled, yanking you out of your daydreams. You blushed a bit, he had caught you staring at him.
 “I was actually thinking about the case, Cuomo, we can’t all do sports talk the entire day.”
 “I see.” He winked at you, and you tried your best to ignore how handsome he was. “Back to work then, let’s get after it.”
 +++
 It was another late night at the office, you and Chris had been hunched over case files for hours after a whole day of running around and taking statements from various people associated with the case. You were incredibly tired, but the court date was approaching and there was still a lot of work to be done.
 Across from you, Chris yawned, stretching his arms over his head. He had discarded his suit jacket, and his white dress shirt was tight enough for you to ogle his muscled arms.
You had given up on trying not to stare some time ago, he was good looking, and there was no hurt in admiring what was right in front of you.
Lately though, you had started to develop some more confusing feelings about the man. But those were carefully bottled up and you intended to keep them that way.
“Do you want another coffee?” you asked, getting up from your chair.
“Please, I’m dying here. Bring me the biggest cup we have.”
You made your way back from the kitchen, balancing two steaming mugs of coffee in your hand. You stopped next to Chris chair and put down his coffee in front of him. Your arm softly brushed against his, and he turned his head to face you. Suddenly, your faces were only inches apart from each other, he was so close that you could feel his breath on your skin as he spoke.
 “You have a lash, right there. Stay still.” he reached out to pick the small hair up from right under your eye. The touch of his finger left a burning feeling on your skin.
 “Thank you.” You whispered, and for a moment, no one was speaking, you were just staring into each other’s eyes. You felt your face starting to tingle, but you couldn’t look away, not when Chris eyes were open and warm in a way you had never seen them before.
You noticed a small scar on his jaw, and you carefully reached out to trace it with a finger.
“Where is this from?”
 Chris tensed under your touch but didn’t move or slap your hand away.
“College, Senior year. I got into a nasty brawl with someone after that last party before graduation. I was wasted and angry, it was my fault, no biggie.” He murmured, and you quickly moved your hand away, worried that you were making him uncomfortable.
Your mind rushed back to that night, and the row you had with Chris. Even after all these years, the encounter was still very present and the thought that he had gotten into a fight because you had riled him up made you feel incredibly guilty.
 “I’m so sorry.” You replied in a stained voice. “Were you angry because of me?”
 Chris eyes hardened.
“That was years ago, Y/N, how about we let stuff from the past stay there.” he replied brusquely and got up from his chair. “I need to get some more files.”
 When he didn’t return after an hour, you just went home.
 +++
 After that night, things between you went back to being tense and awkward. You weren’t sure if he was mad at you and were too afraid to bring it up. You had actually enjoyed the tentative friendship that had formed between you and missed the easy banter during lunch breaks or brooding over case files in comfortable silence. Why was the man so fucking stubborn when you had been nothing but civil to him since your first day?
After a week of little to no conversation, you were close to freaking out. It was another late-night work session, and you were tired and fed up with the situation.
 “Alright, enough with that shit.” You snapped, slamming down the file you were working on onto the desk. Chris glanced up from his papers and shot you a dirty look.
 “What’s your problem, huh?” he snarled back.
 “You are my problem, Cuomo. I thought we were making progress and could at least be friendly with each other. But since last week, you’re totally shutting me out. You don’t talk to me, not even when its necessary for the case. I don’t know what I did to offend you, but you either tell me now or suck it up, because the silent treatment is bullshit.” you were getting louder with each sentence and had started pacing around the small office, the familiar flush creeping up your neck.
The sound of Chris’ laughing made you stop in your tracks.
 “Oh my God, you look just like during one of those discussions back in college.” He chuckled before he got serious again.
 “Look, I’m sorry. I was confronted with a lot of uncomfortable memories last week. Yes, back then I was angry because of the fight we had, and yes I got drunk and punched this guy because of it.” He paused for a moment, running his hand through his hair before speaking again. “He reported me to the police, you know. I had to do a whole summer of community service, and almost lost my Law School spot. I blamed you for a long time, even if it wasn’t your fault at all.”
You were shocked by that admission.
“Chris, I had no idea. I am so sorry, that was never my intention.”
He just stared back at you with an unreadable expression on his face.
“That right now was the first time you ever called me Chris.” He said, sounding oddly emotional. He got up from his chair and walked around the small table to where you stood.
 Your heart started racing in your chest like crazy as he approached you.
“You just…Jesus, Y/N, you just unsettle me, you did back at Yale, and you still do.”
“What are you even talking about?” you whispered, “You used to hate me.”
“You really have no idea, don’t you?” he replied. He was standing right in front of you now, and the only thing you could focus on was how big and strong his body looked, and how good his cologne smelled. Your brain couldn’t handle having him in such close proximity, and when his hand reached out to cup your jaw, you could barely suppress a gasp.
 “I never hated you.” He murmured, before pressing his lips to yours.
After a moment, your brain caught up with your body. You were just kissing Chris Cuomo, the plague of your college years, the most cocky, arrogant, intriguing person you had ever met, and it was fucking perfect.
 You melted against him, his body was solid and warm and you never wanted to stop kissing him. Your hands flew around his neck, pulling him down to deepen the kiss. He tangled his hand into your hair, tilting your head back, and when he softly bit your bottom lip, you groaned against his mouth and pressed your body even closer to his.
 With a deep breath, Chris broke the kiss and looked down at you, his pupils were blown and there was a slight blush on his cheeks.
“Do you know how often I wanted to shut you up like this?”
 “Took you long enough, Cuomo.” You chuckled, and kissed him again, it felt too good to just stop now. His huge hands were on your back now, wandering lower until they landed on your ass, squeezing the soft flesh. By now, you could barely think straight anymore.
You had fantasized about this moment before, but no fantasy could compare to the feeling of his hands all over your body, dipping under your shirt to slide over the soft, bare skin of your back.
 With your last shred of restraint, you broke the kiss again.
 “We can’t do this here, Chris.” You mumbled, suddenly feeling a bit shy.
 “There is no one else here, Y/N, its after midnight. We can do whatever the hell we want.” He replied, using the hand that was still on your back to pull you to his chest, there was a noticeable bulge pressing against you and your mind went blank again.
Your last resolve crumbled when Chris whispered a deep “I need to have you, now.” right against your ear. You succumbed to his touches as he picked you up and placed you on the edge of the desk, right on top of the important case files, but you didn’t give a damn.
 Everything you cared about right now was the feeling of Chris palms sliding up your bare legs, hitching up your skirt and softly skimming over your panty-covered core. You inhaled through clenched teeth as his hand found its way inside your underwear, you were already slick with need and grinded your pussy against his fingers.
 “You have no idea how often I thought about this.” Chris groaned. “Just you, squirming and wet under me. God, you are soaked.”
 “Stop talking and do something, Cuomo.” You whimpered, his light touches were nowhere near enough.
 “You asked for this, sweetheart.” Chris growled and plunged two of his thick fingers inside you without warning. The moan spilling out of you was so loud that he slapped his other palm over your mouth to muffle your needy sounds.
“Shh, we might be alone, but we don’t want to alarm the whole building.” He chuckled darkly as he started to move his hand, curling his digits inside you until you saw stars.
 You groaned his name against his palm as he started to circle your clit with his thumb, applying more and more pressure until you came against his hand with a strangled cry.
 Chris removed his hands and looked down at where you were lying on the desk, breathing heavily.
“Say it, Y/N. What do you want me to do?”
 You could see the way his erection was tenting the fabric of his suit trousers and unconsciously licked your lips.
“Get rid of those trousers and fuck me.” You whispered, your voice still a bit breathy from your climax moments ago.
 Without hesitation, Chris undid the buckle of his belt and pulled down his pants along with his underwear. When his cock spring free, you let out an audible gasp.
Chris snorted our a small, smug laugh, a flicker of his familiar arrogance showing. Usually, this would’ve annoyed you to no ends, but right now your only concern was getting him inside of you as fast as possible.
 When he finally stepped between your legs, his strong hands grabbed the hem of your panties and just tore the thin lace apart. He grabbed your thighs and spread them, leaving you exposed to his hungry gaze. The feeling of his cock teasing your entrance almost made you lose patience.
 “Stop the fucking teasing, Chris”
 Without a warning, he grabbed your hips and slammed into you with one harsh thrust. You had to cover your mouth with your own hand again to silence your cry, the feeling of his thick length was almost too much.
“Shit, Y/N.” he hissed as he bottomed out. “You’re so tight.”
You couldn’t do anything more than grab the edges of the desk as he started to fuck you with a relentless pace, the slap of his skin against yours sounding through the empty office.
 Your let your head roll to the side and closed your eyes, completely overwhelmed by the burning arousal spreading through your whole body.
 Suddenly, a hand grabbed your hair and yanked your head around so you were staring directly into Chris dark, burning eyes.
 “I want you to look at me while I fuck you.” He snarled. “Want you to see who makes you feel like this.”
His voice was slightly breathless, and there was a thin layer of sweat covering his forehead as he continued to slam into you, hitting a spot deep inside you and sending you closer to your climax with each hard stroke.
His words were like a drug and you couldn’t tear your eyes away from his face anymore. When he delivered his next sharp thrust, you could feel yourself tumbling over the edge, your orgasm washing over you and making you trash and squirm under Chris, your walls clenching around his cock.
His grasp on your hips tightened to an almost painful degree, pulling your pelvis flush against his as he spilled inside you with a growl.
As you laid on the desk, your brain was trying to come to terms with what just happened through the haze of your climax.
Chris carefully pulled out and readjusted his trousers before slumping back into an office chair.
 “Well, that was a surprise.” You said awkwardly, getting up and pulling down your shirt to restore some sense of dignity. In an attempt to ease some of the tension that had suddenly settled over the room, you added “Next time we should try it without all the clothes, and maybe on a bed instead of a desk filled with super important case files.”
Instead of making a dirty joke, Chris looked surprised.
“There is going to be a next time?” He asked, sounding almost hopeful.
 With a soft chuckle, you approached him and sat down onto his lap.
 “You can’t screw me like this and not expect me to come back for seconds.” You pressed a kiss to his lips. “If you’re up to it, I’d maybe even agree to a third, fourth and fifth time.”
 Chris puffed out his chest a little bit. “Sweetheart, I’m always up to it.”
 +++
 With a slam, the doors of the courtroom closed behind you. Chris turned around to face you, and the smile on his face was bright enough to light up the entire hallway.
 “We won, Y/N, we really did it.” he cheered, picking you up to spin you around. You just giggled, full of joy and relief that you were able to win this important case and keep your clients out of jail.
When Chris sat you down again, you reached up to put his face between your hands.“I am so incredibly proud of you.” You said, your voice heavy with emotion. “You were on fire in there.”
It was true, seeing Chris in court had been like a revelation to you. He had been relentless, tough and razor sharp in his defense, all while wielding his charm and charisma to win the jury over. Everything you had held against him for all those years, his audacity, his stubbornness, they had been invaluable strengths during the trial.
But when Chris leaned down to press a kiss to your mouth, all thoughts stopped. It still was so fresh and every touch of him brought you out of balance. The fact that he had just kissed you in public made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. You hadn’t made your relationship public yet, or even talked about if you were an item, but this made you hope.
Chris broke the kiss, still beaming at you.
“I could have never done this without your help. This is our success. And now we have to celebrate. Please, let me take you to dinner.” Chris said, wrapping his arms around your hips to pull you against him. By now, you couldn’t care less about all the people looking at you.
“Took you long enough to properly ask me out.” you joked, “And of course, I’d love to.”
Immediately, Chris started rambling about how he knew the perfect restaurant that would blow your mind and how they were always booked out several weeks in advance, but he could get you a table anyway, and you just smiled to yourself.
He was still a cocky, smug idiot, but he was your idiot now.
Tumblr media
“Hey, little sis, going somewhere?” your way was blocked even before you could comprehend it, leaving you little choice as to where you should go. As expected, you couldn't spend more than ten minutes of peace and silence – well, almost silence when it concerned a party – in this house before it all came crushing down. And it always seemed to be by the same person every single time, how not surprising.
“For the sake of my poor sanity? As far away as possible from you, Ransom.” you didn't even look in his direction, making sure to fill your glass with just a bit more wine before moving to rest your weight against the doorframe and take a rather large sip of it. You felt like, if you could and if didn't draw too much attention from the family and even more so the man next to you, then you'd have downed the whole glass in one go. All the while, said man made sure to leave barely a couple inches of space between the two of you, just for the sake of making it worse and make you realize just how trapped you were.
“And yet, here you are, closer to me than ever before. How about that?” the smirk was as evident on his voice as it was on his face when you turned to give him the hardest glare you could master. Not that it had the effect you wanted it to because neither could you keep it up for long – your mind instantly being occupied with the thought of how you wanted to wipe that smug smile with a kiss more than a punch – nor did his smile fade in the least bit.
“I could answer that but trust me, you wouldn't like me to do so in front of the whole family. So for one, if it wasn't for grandpa's birthday I wouldn't even be here to see your face. But what can I do, we all must suffer a bit for those we love. And for another-” with a sudden move of your arm you actually managed to elbow him right in the stomach, making him let out a loud groan and almost double “Oops, sorry for that. Did I hurt you maybe?” you asked as innocently as you possibly could, loud enough for the family who was now looking at you to hear.
“Hey, what's going on there? Ransom, stop bothering your sister!” Linda was instantly speaking up in your defence, having a soft spot on you from the day she met you at the orphanage on one hand and on the other knowing her biological son all too well to know that whenever there was a fight between the two of you it was always his fault. Well, she wasn't entirely wrong.
“It's fine, ma. It's actually my fault, Ransom was a bit too close-” you looked at him from the corner of your eyes, trying to put as much meaning behind the words as possible for only him to understand “And I accidentally elbowed him. That's all.”
You heard a small scoff and laugh coming from Meg “If you could accidentally repeat it, don't think the rest of humanity would hold it against you.”
You could hardly hold back a laugh at the girl who felt more like your family than anybody else besides Linda and Harlan. While the woman would more often than not come off as stern and emotionless, she had shown you more love and compassion as a mother than your biological one ever had, let alone when she had abandoned you at a very young age. Richard too was a good father albeit absent most of the time he was caring, in his own way. You thought they were all caring in their own way, and as much as they could be, especially given when you had joined the family you were already 16. They had grown to accept you and you them. Well, almost all of them.
It was no secret to every member of the family that you and the older son didn't get along. While there had not been any major fights, not with any yelling for sure – Ransom surely didn't need to raise a voice to get under your skin and you, well, you didn't have the strength or patience to raise yours when it came to him – it was obvious that you could barely stand to be in the same room as him. Despite any efforts you had made at first to get along, all those years ago, it was obvious he wouldn't change so you too had stopped trying altogether.
As far as the rest of the family was concerned you didn't care whether he shut up because he died or... any other reason really, so long as he was no longer around you. As far as you were concerned, however, you cared because if he kept talking and kept getting closer to you, you might just shut him up with your lips and that would be a game you didn't want to play. Not again.
“Exactly.” the smile was back on his lips but certainly vanished from yours when you felt his arm around your shoulders “There's absolutely no harm done here, certainly no fight. If anything, (Y/n) and I are the closest we've been, we've grown past our differences and are ready to call truce once and for all. Make love not war, that's what they say. Isn't that right, little sister?” he squeezed your shoulder and you nearly broke the glass in your hand “Two very loving siblings!”
“You better.” Linda gave him a look before turning to the rest of the family, the other family members doing the same before slowly but certainly the conversation grew louder and you were quickly forgotten.
“What the hell do you think you're doing?” you hissed, grabbing his hand only to push it off your shoulder – although he did resist for a couple seconds.
“What?” he asked so innocently it got even more frustrating “I'm merely reassuring mother dearest that her son is on his best behavior and a loving big brother to his-”
“Alright, that's enough. Stop, just- stop it.” you all-but-growled at him, which really did nothing to lessen the smile that had turned into a smirk but you barely cared “I don't know what your problem is but I don't care to find out either. I'm living the best life I ever have, ever since I met you now that I am so many miles away from you. And if it wasn't for meetings like this I'd be perfectly content the whole year round. But I'm not about to shy away or not say a word like the little teen girl you first met, Ransom, and I can sure as fucking hell fight-”
“Whoa whoa easy little sis, I di-”
“I'm not your bloody sister!” you nearly yelled at him, oh how you wanted to scream it right in his face “I'm not and I will never be. And you're not my brother. Stop calling me that, just stop it. We both know very well that it is not how you see me, you never did and never will. And it sure is for the best because you and I-”
“Oh no, no please go ahead. You and I?” he smirked, taking another step closer to you again “I'd love to hear you finish that sentence with your own words. I sure have an idea or two in mind.”
You took in a deep breath, trying to gain some sort of courage but you realised very soon what a mistake that was. Standing so close to him you couldn't help but inhale his cologne, mixing with that significant aftershave and on top of the characteristic warmth of his body you were already feeling your knees go weak. It came in shaky and he noticed because his smirk got wider. It was as if he had won something and possibly he had.
That was the crazy or maybe even scary part of it all: You realized it too and instead of hating him more for it, you felt even more drawn to the man.
“You're right.” he straightened a bit, glancing at the family that were totally oblivious to the two of you “We're not siblings, and it's a really good thing we're not, because- well, we both know why. Just like we both know why... I'm going to keep calling you that, over and over and over again, even more so in front of our loving family. I'm going to keep saying it until you give in... again.”
“Listen here you bastard-” you hissed “I don't know what your game is and I don't care to anymore. Do your thing, as always, I don't give a damn. I'm actually bloody thankful I'm not related to you or your lifestyle in any sort of way and I plan to keep it that way, whatever you do. I'm not getting pulled into your game.”
“Oh really?” he grinned, getting so much closer there really was no room for you to back away and yet plenty enough for it to seem totally natural “And what are you going to do exactly? What do you think I am going to do?”
“None of your business. Look-” you let a short huff of air “I don't know if that's what you get off to, Ransom, I don't know if-”
“What? Oh (Y/n).” he actually laughed and you didn't know if you hated him more or found the sound too endearing for your poor heart “That's cute but calm down, will you? What I get off to? Oh no, no of course not. That's so far from the things I like.” he rolled his eyes playfully, before taking another dangerous step closer to you “Besides-” he smirked, leaning closer to your ear after a glance at the family “You do know better than anyone else what I get off to, don't you (Y/n/n)?”
If it wasn't the damn nickname he had come up with, if it wasn't the proximity, if it wasn't his breath fanning over cheek, if it wasn't his lips brushing over your ear as he whispered into it then it was certainly the combination which had you shaking. And you couldn't have been more thankful to Marta in your life for informing the man that his grandfather wanted to see him in his office, making him leave you alone for the rest of the party.
Not that he left you without his trademark wink that is.
And with that the screen faded to black and it didn't take longer than a second's silence before the crowd was erupting in cheers. You along with the rest of the cast clapped as well.
“Now I feel like-” you glanced at your husband with a wide smile “I have to say this, honey, I have to.” you told him before turning to the crowd “And in those last few seconds, I realized, he was no longer acting. But they kept it in the movie you see.”
“Wh-what?” your costars and husband were already laughing much like the host himself.
“I think- I think given that you've been married for a year you should know but uh-” Jimmy's words didn't really make it any easier but as the host he tried to keep a serious face and tone the laughter down “It is a great scene nonetheless, so we'll just-”
“Oh it is my favorite scene!” Ana spoke up though in between her laughter there was only so much she could do.
“Let's all agree it was a good scene and move on from it cause knowing (Y/n) she will have plenty of comments to make on it and therefore me in that scene. Please?” Chris spoke up too and you smiled even more widely.
“Come on you guys, it's not like I said 'Get you a man like Chris Evans: Steve Rogers by day and Ransom Drysdale by night.' or anything that might imply how he's in bed! Did I?” you asked so innocently that anyone - or at least anyone that was not your husband - would have easily believed it was nothing more than just a slip and certainly very true - part which you were not going to deny. But if it wasn't for your laughter, which you could hardly contain when the rest of the cast burst into laughter of their own and which in the end gave you away, you would have kept your act up and made them believe that you did none of it on purpose. Something which of course, again, you did.
“Alright this taking a turn for the-” Jimmy chuckled “For something we didn't expect, not that the fans will complain of course. I see- I see a few people there cheering!” he pointed at the audience.
“What? Want more details? With pleasure, I could go on for hours!” you said eagerly, making Chris look at you with horror on his face.
“Oh no. No no no! Absolutely not! Let's- Let's change the topic, yeah?” he tried to look serious but the wide smile on his lips was not helping, he was having fun even though he was already feeling embarrassed. The entire cast already knew it, probably the entire world too after so many years of working with Chris and so many years in relationship, but if there was one person that truly knew you and how far you could really go was Chris himself. So when he said that it was best if you changed the subject then he was absolutely right.
“Yes, I think it's best if we do change the subject. I think-” Jimmy chuckled as Chris tried to get everyone to calm down and not ask any more questions - despite Ana whining a bit and saying she wanted more details, just like the rest of the crowd you were sure “Calm down everyone, I'm sure she will share more details later.”
“Oh you bet!” you grinned, only for all of it to turn into laughter when you saw your husband hiding his face behind his hands mumbling “Oh no.” on repeat.
“Alright-” Jimmy cleared his throat, trying to get back on track as everyone else calmed down again “I think I had a few questions for you, (Y/n), concerning this scene. It was incredible by the way, so many things going on at the same time and you two manage to make it flow seamlessly. Can you- can you tell us a couple things about it?”
“Uhm yes of course.” you nodded your head “It was actually the first scene we had to shoot as our characters for the movie and I remember being so nervous about it, it's something I can't help every time, it gets really bad sometimes to the point I can't eat anything for the whole day until, you know, I calm down and the filming starts and I get told I'm doing ok-”
“Says the three-times-Oscar-winner.” your best friend gave you a look and you laughed, shrugging before Ana went on to add “But who cares about that when you've got Chris Evans to comfort you every five minutes, am I right?” she smirked as everyone laughed.
You couldn't help but grin as well, giving her a small punch on the shoulder “I mean, yes that did help a bit... lot.” you laughed “But I think it did just as much as having the scene itself with Chris. After so many years of working with him, friendship or relationship o-or marriage aside, we know the tricks and moves each other has. We know how the other one acts, in every detail it sometimes is scary for some-” you chuckled “And so to fall into synce is a piece of cake anymore. I mean, we could change the whole order of the lines but still find a way to include them all in the dialogue in a perfect flow without a single hesitation. So yes, on that aspect it was really helpful to be with Chris on that very first scene, I'm-I'm actually glad that the chemistry and all this uhm closeness came through in such a good way.”
“Why, yes, I think the fans were incredibly excited about that part! You two- you have quiet a few scenes together and- Let me ask, was that the original plan?”
“The original plan was uhm a bit more... simple and yet ten times more complicated. I auditioned for the role of his sister, his biological sister because that was the script at first. However, later there were many many changes made to the script so that my character was more of the adopted sister with little relations to the family and a questionable relation to Ransom because it felt like it fit more. See they really wanted me for the part, there was no questioning that, but uhm I think I could say it was discovered that uhm Chris and I couldn't get over the- what's the word. Uh well, I don't know how I could descri-”
“Sexual tension, just say it already!” Ana once more piped in, making you laugh just like everybody else “We all know it, it's always there! Just admit it, (Y/n).”
“Already, it might have been that. Maybe. I don't know.” you shrugged innocently “Who can blame me anyway? Look at this man!” you took hold of his face and kissed his cheek as he chuckled “But yes, yes Jimmy, I think that the chemistry came out as a little more uhm personal so they switched it up.”
“I- I don't think it was a problem, though.” Chris spoke up, a second afterwards “I think- because it seemed like they were all along planing to take it there. It was still the very first couple of days, no official filming had started out yet, and so (Y/n) and I were more comfortable so we didn't care if it came out our characters talking or us going through the lines of our characters. We were doing more of the second, you see, and they took notice of that and I suppose liked it enough to change it all.”
“Wow that's amazing then! Not just for you guys but for the fans as well.”
“Yeah, everyone went kind of nuts, and this one didn't help the case by posting photos all the time.” Chris chuckled, pointing at you.
“Were you excited about it (Y/n)?” Jimmy asked what was most likely a rhetorical question but you were already nodding anyway, seeing no harm in the simple question.
And leave it to Ana to make it worse “The real question should be why were you excited (Y/n)?”
“I hate you so much right now.” you told your friend and she giggled “I knew it was going to be a good movie and real fun to film. Just a look at all the cast and crew and script, which is is a masterpiece I had no doubt. I mean with my husband, my best friend and so many great actors why not-”
“So many, yes, of course. Cause she cared about all members of the cast equally. It's because of all of us she wanted to bein so much hmh.” she nodded her head, the smirk not leaving her lips and you hid your face behind your hands “Why, this is an oscar-worthy performance now.”
“You're the worst, literally the worst. Alright, fine-” you huffed “I will admit that I may or may have not accepted the role before even knowing half the thing I should about it. I received the first script and Chris had already gotten his role and we were talking a lot about the movie and he told me about the cast that I was totally sold just at hearing about them, you see. I kinda did it for all of them yes.”
“All of them, indeed.” Ana muttered not-so-silently.
“Wait, I don't get it. I, as well as I'm pretty sure every other fan out there, thought you auditioned for the movie because you'd get to be with Chris. Careful of your answer, don't break too many hearts!”
“I-” you laughed “Well, Chris knows it so I won't be breaking his, but no I didn't go for the role because of Chris himself. I just loved the idea of it all. Honestly, I was actually hoping I'd get to be Ana's character's wifey, but instead I got stuck with this guy yet again so I guess I had to play my part. I mean, they had that chance and it had so much potential-”
“So much!” your friend agreed passionately “We have been robbed! First time I got to be in a movie with my bestie and we've been robbed! I wanted that to happen too. Why should Chris be the only to brag he's married to Wonder Woman, I wanted that too! I was so sad we didn't get that. So sad.”
“Exactly.” you agreed “But no, I guess they were like: Chris Evans. Take it or leave it.” you shrugged “So yeah, I kind of rolled with that. Again.”
“You-” your husband couldn't contain his laughter “You say that like it's a bad thing! Wow, married life. Isn't it great? Maybe I should have really paid more attention to RDJ's speech. My own wife!”
“Come on, don't be a sore loser. Second place is just fine!” Ana said only half serious “You're on the top three of the people she loves most in the cast, that's what counts. I'm fine with third place!”
“Wait, did you just say third?” Jimmy asked the question many surely wanted, except for you.
“Oh you think she came to the movie for her best friend or husband? Oh no, no.” she grinned and your breath got caught in your throat, you knew that smile real well and you had been lucky to avoid it so far but apparently no more “Let's all be honest: great cast, amazing script, awesome director- Tha means shit,it fades into the background when-”
“No, Ana please don't-” you pleaded but you knew there was no use.
“It all means shit when Daniel Craig is going to be there!” she exclaimed and you squeaked, hiding your face behind your hands “She doesn't give a singe f for the rest of us. Nothing and nobody else exists! Daniel Craig, it's all about that man and I have facts when I tell you that she wanted to be in the movie for him!”
“Oh my gosh, oh my gosh. She said it. I can't believe she said it. I'm so glad he's not here to-”
“Do you think he's going to come on set today? Chris told me he's going to show up one of these days this week! What if he shows up today and the first scene they film it's the one we have together?! How will I do that? I'm not ready!” she mimicked you a little over the top and you literally yelped.
“But I don't sound like that!” your voice came out a bit high-pitched “And that's not what I said... entirely.”
“Not on a normal basis, but when it comes to Daniel Craig? Yes, yes you do!” she laughed as some of your co-stars chuckled. In fact all of them except for one: your husband.
“How come I didn't know any of that?” he did try to seem relaxed, but his smile wasn't his usual warm.
“It's no big deal-” you started, elbowing Ana who scoffed a laugh “I've kinda only told this traitor here, and it's not like I plan to talk about it again. I didn't...” but you trailed off, looking at your husband who had a raised eyebrow which made you bite your lip to keep yourself from grinning.
“And that, everyone-” you turned back to the audience “Is how his Ransome starts showing!”
You gasped for air, jumping out of bed as you groaned loudly, your head throbbing. You couldn’t make out anything around you. You must have been in some type of woods, you could barely see trees surrounding you.
Your vision cleared, immediately recognizing where you were. You gasped softly, spotting the Hale house in front of you, before it was burned down and in its former beauty.
You frowned, walking into the house as you felt your bones go cold.
“Talia,” you gasped.
“(Y/N)? What are you doing here?” she turned to you, a small frown on her face.
“What the…” you stood in shock, looking at her from a distance.
“(Y/N), you can’t be here. You’re so young,” she said softly.
“What is here? What’s going on?” you felt tears in your eyes as you walked closer to Talia, wrapping your arms around her.
“If you’re here… here is… you’re dead, (Y/N/N),” you clenched your jaw, before looking up at her.
“Is my mom here?” you asked softly.
You saw Talia’s face drop, as she shook her head no.
“Supernatural heaven is different from human heaven. But, that doesn’t mean you won’t ever see her again. (Y/N), we need to find a way to…” you felt your head aching as you winced, stumbling back slightly.
“Your powers… you’re not well,” she said.
“I was in pain, I don’t know what happened,” you said.
“(Y/N), I’m going to find a way to send you back. There’s no possible way you’re dead. Not for a long time,” Talia stroked your cheek, wiping away your tears.
“We missed you,” you whispered.
She pressed a small kiss to your forehead, stroking your cheek. Her eyes glew a bright red while you held her hand.
“When you wake up, you need to go to Deaton. He can tell you what’s wrong with you, he can help you…”
---
“Ouch,” you sat up in your bed, rubbing your head. You scrunched your eyes as flashes of memories came to you. Flashes of your dream.
Derek tensed, immediately running to your side.
“(Y/N)?” he asked softly.
“No, it’s a unicorn,” you replied sarcastically.
“Y-You…” he started.
“I had the weirdest dream,” you started.
He ran to you, wrapping his arms around you tightly.
“That wasn't a fucking dream. Your heart stopped. You were dead,” he said worriedly.
“Oh… well are you trying to kill me again? Can't breathe,” you replied, strained.
“Right, sorry,” he wiped his face, looking at you.
“So what happened?” he asked.
“I can’t remember fully… I remember… your mom,” your eyes widened as you tensed.
“You saw my mom?” he asked softly.
You nodded, while he held your hand.
“She told me to tell you that she misses you and that she loves you.”
You saw his eyes water before he shook his head.
“What did she say?” he asked.
“Something about some help. A vet,” you said.
“A vet?” Derek furrowed his eyebrows.
“Yeah, something like that. I think it was Deaton,” you said.
“Deaton?” Derek raised an eyebrow.
“Yeah, I guess I’ll see him tomorrow,” you replied, laying back on your bed.
“Are you okay?” you watched as Derek took off his shirt and jacket, laying next to you.
“Yeah, I'm fine,” he wrapped his arms around you.
“You don't have to lie to me,” he said softly.
“I’m not lying,” you sighed, trying to convince yourself more.
“I can sense it,” he started.
“Let's talk about something else. Do you have any idea what killed Isaac’s father?” you asked.
He went quiet before replying.
“No, but all I know is that it sure as hell wasn’t a wolf,” he replied.
“Hmm,” you replied.
“You’re in pain, aren’t you?” he asked softly.
“I’m fine,” you sniffled.
He held your hand again, trying to take your pain. You felt him tense up, seeing black veins appear on his arms.
“Please stop,” you said softly.
“No,” he continued holding your hand.
“Please. I don’t want you to be in pain,” you said.
“Better me than you,” he replied.
“No, it’s not,” you started, getting interrupted by your phone ringing.
“Stiles?” you sat up, picking up the call.
“I-I… Can you pick me up?” he asked.
“Yeah, what’s going on? What's wrong?” you asked.
“Just please come,” he said shakily.
“O-Okay,” you replied, hanging up the phone.
“I'll go with you,” Derek stood up.
“No, in case you forgot, Stiles and Scott don’t like you,” you said.
“(Y/N),” he started.
“Derek. I’m fine,” you cut him off.
“The veins… they didn’t disappear,” you noticed, looking down at your arms.
“What?” he held your arms, looking carefully.
“I-I gotta go,” you grabbed your jacket from beside you.
“Just… be careful,” he wrapped his arms around your waist.
“I know,” you pressed your lips against his before leaving.
---
“Thanks for picking me up,” Stiles said, as he slumped in the front seat.
“What happened?” you asked, driving off.
“That stupid… whatever it is. It killed the mechanic,” he said shakily.
“Are you okay?” you looked at him, noticing his hands shaking.
“Yeah,” he nodded.
“You’re shaking,” you pointed out.
“I said I’m fine, (Y/N). Will you just drop me off already?!” Stiles raised his voice, frustrated.
You slammed the breaks, glaring at him.
“First of all, bitch, I’m giving you a ride, the least you can do is tell me what happened,” you said.
He took a deep breath before apologizing.
“Whatever it was… it paralyzed me, somehow. I couldn't do anything to help,” Stiles sighed.
“That's not your fault, kid. Just, go to bed and try to take your mind off of it,” you said softly.
“Yeah… but I gotta ask. You and Derek, how is that possible?” Stiles asked.
“Will you shut it?” you rolled your eyes.
“I have a long list of questions to ask you, like why do you ignore your dad's calls? Why don’t you use magic anymore? Are you not getting enough sleep or something? Oh yeah, and also, why the fuck is there blood on your shirt?” he bombarded you with questions.
“Oh, Chris shot me,” you shrugged.
“What?!” he gasped.
“I’m fine. It didn't kill me. That was something else that did it,” you shook your head.
“You what?! Okay, we need some catch-up time right now,” Stiles said.
“Well, here comes everything,” you started.
“What the hell is on your arms?!’ he yelled as your sleeve pulled up slightly.
“I’ll get to it, just... just listen”
---
“Hello?” you called as you walked into the animal clinic. You rubbed your arms softly, you were freezing, for some reason. Even with your jacket.
“Yes, are you here to pick up Scott?” Deaton asked, walking to you.
“No, is he here?” you asked.
“No, I was gonna say he just left,” he put his clipboard down, looking at you.
“I...” you started.
“You’re sick, right?” he noticed, looking at you carefully.
“Come with me,” you followed him as he took you to the back room.
“Okay,” you took a deep breath.
“So, tell me when this started,” he said.
“I’m not a wolf, or at least-” you started.
“Not yet. You’re a witch,” he said.
“How did you know?” you asked.
“I knew your mother for years. And I know that you’re not a werewolf, you suppressed it,” he observed.
“How the hell did you guess that?” you raised an eyebrow.
“Well, for me, it’s obvious to tell that stuff. But you’re not. So what happened that made your powers like this?”
“I don’t even know… Kate tortured us, electricity doesn’t go well with humans, it goes bad for witches, and even worse for a witch who’s hiding a werewolf inside them,” you sighed.
“But anyway, after that, she shot me, I was dying. I should’ve died. I don’t know what happened. It was like some power, and I healed Derek, I somehow healed myself, and I set Peter on fire,” you explained.
“When did your powers start acting out?” he asked.
“Since then. A few days after that, I couldn’t do something as simple as floating a feather without almost passing out. But then, this pain started, I don’t know how to describe it,” you said.
“Black veins on your arms?” he asked.
“Yeah...” you replied.
He took a deep breath.
“Am I dying?” you asked nervously.
“Every witch has a sort of hidden power, it’s like an emergency generator for when they’re in need. Now, for a witch, they siphon off that energy, sending it straight back to the Earth,” he started.
“I didn’t know about that,” you started.
“Well, I wouldn’t expect you to. You’re not in a coven,” he said.
“What the hell is a coven?” you asked.
“Like a pack. There’s more about being a witch than you know,”
“So, there are different covens?” you asked.
“Yes, with their high priestess as the leader,” he answered.
“Okay, wait, what does this have to… what is happening to me?” you asked softly.
“That power… it’s trapped inside you, for some reason. It’s too much for anyone to handle,” he said.
“How do I get rid of it then?” you asked.
“You… you can’t,” he took a breath.
“What do you mean?” you asked shakily.
“Your arms have the veins all over them already. All that power, all that energy going through your body. It’s too late,” he said.
“Oh,” your eyes watered slightly.
“I’m sorry,” he gave you a pitiful look.
“What if… what if I suppressed it somehow? Like I did with the bite?” you asked.
“It’s not impossible but I’ve never heard of any single witch strong enough to do it,” he replied.
“How long do I have to do it?” you asked.
“19 hours,” he said.
“Hours?! 19 hours?! You’re joking, right?” you yelled.
“I’m sorry, (Y/N). The best I can advise you is to take it easy,” he said.
“This… no, this is crazy. 19 hours is more than enough time. I can do this. I just have to find the right spell, I’ll be fine,” you said.
“(Y/N), Deaton started.
“In 19 hours it won’t be possible to fix it, but in a few hours, the pain and everything will intensify tenfold,” he explained.
“Has anyone lived through this before?” you asked shakily.
“No lone witch that I know of did. But there’s a first time for everything,” he said.
“Then... I gotta go now. Thank you so much, Deaton,” you gave him a small smile before running out.
---
You called Derek, only to get voicemail.
Not this again you groaned.
“Derek... I think I’ll be fine. I just need to find the right spell, and I need your help. Just call me back please,” you ended the voicemail.
You started looking through all your grimoires, trying to find what you need.
---
Your eyes watered as you became more and more frustrated, not able to find the right spell. It had been hours and nothing. The only thing that changed was the veins had traveled up to your shoulders.
Combine a spell
You’d never reversed a spell or changed a spell before. Combining a spell was something completely new. But, first time for everything, right? You grabbed your book, carefully trying to find the right spells.
You took a deep breath, thinking about what you’d need.
Blood, Mountain Ash, Aconite, Vervain, Rosemary, Snakeroot, Periwinkle, Rue
You walked to your cabinet, quickly finding the things you needed. You took a knife, cutting your hand as you winced, pouring your blood into the bowl. You took a deep breath as you continued to mix it, adding in the mountain ash, then vervain, rosemary, and lastly the aconite.
“Okay, (Y/N),” you inhaled deeply as you started.
“Supprimunt atramentum potentiam tuam,” you recited, your eyes glew purple as you took a deep breath, feeling your body tense up. Your eyes reverted back to their normal color.
“Supprimunt atramentum potentiam tuam,” you repeated, taking a shaky breath. You felt your head banging as your eyes watered, trying again.
“Supprimunt atramentum potentiam tuam,” you shut your eyes tightly, forcing yourself to stay up, forcing yourself to complete the spell.
You exhaled sharply, finding it harder and harder to keep it up.
“Supprimunt-” you started, coughing loudly. You saw blood fall from your mouth as you collapsed on the ground, shaking, not realizing the bowl that spilled, everything falling out.
No
You let out a small cry, falling to your knees as you tried to reach for help. You fell to the side, your entire body, yelling out as tears slipped down your face. You closed your eyes, letting out a shaky breath as you fell unconscious. You couldn’t hear your phone, receiving a call from Stiles.
“(Y/N)! Help!”
