#derek hale x reader angst
Note
can u write one where Derek and the reader get reunited after. Along time, like he faked his death or smthng and they’re rely mad at him or smthng
thanks for requesting!
"You're not real."
Your entire body was tense as you looked at Derek standing in front of you, finding it hard to believe.
"I'm real-"
"No, you're not. Derek died last year. I don't know who the fuck you are, but this isn't funny. Leave us alone now."
Your gun laid on the table next to you, you quickly grabbed it, aiming it at Derek as he tensed.
"You have every right to be mad, but please just..."
He took a step closer to you as you cocked the gun, keeping strong.
It couldn't be real.
"No, that's not Derek," you could feel the tears rushing to your eyes as you looked away from the body, looking back at Scott.
"I found him like this. He's been dead for at least two weeks," you shook your head in disbelief, stumbling back slightly.
"I don't know what type of sick prank this is supposed to be-"
"It's not a fucking prank, (Y/N) just look," Stiles took your phone from you, dialing Derek's number.
You could hear the phone buzzing from the counter, feeling your heart dropping.
You couldn't believe it.
"Stiles-"
"I'm sorry." you looked at the tears in both of their eyes, shaking your head.
"No, h-he can't... we were..." you could feel the air leaving you as more and more tears rushed to your eyes, feeling your heart in your throat.
"I had to keep you safe, (Y/N). I didn't want it to be like this," you could feel slight tears in your eyes as your hands shook slightly, remembering the events of last year.
"Prove you're Derek," your voice shook slightly.
"I know that we've known each other forever. I was there for you when you ran away. Your birthday's May 5th, you always picked on the fact that you're 7 months older than me. I know you've always wanted a family but you were too scared because of how dangerous everything in our lives was. I remember all the songs on your CD, your mom gave them to you before she died and you never go anywhere without them. I know that we were supposed to get married 9 months ago, but... I wasn't here," your hands were shaking as you lowered your gun, exhaling shakily.
"You... you've been alive this whole time?" you whimpered.
He nodded softly, while you shook your head.
"You couldn't reach out to me, could you? You couldn't have sent me one fucking text or a fucking call to let me know you were alive and okay?" there was slight anger in your voice, you could see the pain in Derek's face.
"I couldn't tell anyone. I'm sorry-"
"You think you can just apologize for making me grieve you and think you were dead for a whole year?!" you exclaimed.
"Yes, because we love each other. I know I... I'm here now and I'm sorry," he said.
You scoffed, laughing bitterly before shaking your head.
"Of course, you think that we can go back to how everything was before like this past year didn't happen, right?"
"(Y/N)."
"You have no idea how this past year has been on me, on any of us. How could you put me through something like this? If you love me so much how could you do this to me?" your voice broke, tears rushing down your face.
You could feel the anger leaving you, sadness taking over.
"(Y/N), I'm sorry. Please just forgive me." Derek begged, putting his hands on your shoulders.
You pulled away, shaking your head.
"I think you should leave," you said.
"(Y/N), please don't-"
"I think you need to go," you repeated once more, as he sighed, before nodding.
"I'll be back tomorrow and every day after that. I'm sorry, I'll do whatever I need to in order to get your trust back," you stayed stiff as he spoke, your tears falling.
He stroked your cheek softly, giving you a small smile.
"Bye," you didn't reply, keeping still as he made his way out the door, looking back at you before walking away.
You wrapped your arms around yourself, letting out a quiet sob as you fell to your knees.
All the pain from the past year hit you once more, leaving you feeling worse than ever before.
---
"You didn't tell her what happened," Scott gave Derek a look as he sat in the car, while he exhaled slowly.
"She needs some time-"
"No, she's gonna feel even worse if you tell her everything that happened. You should've told her now," Stiles added in.
"No. Shut up and drive, Scott." Derek's eyes flashed blue, earning an eye roll from the two boys.
He looked away from them, staring out the window, listening in to your broken cries as they drove off.
Nothing could hurt him more than listening to your cries, not being able to hold you.

pack mentality II — derek hale x reader
Tumblr media
you can find part 1 here
☄. *. ⋆
content warnings and genre: no warnings — fluff, angst if you squint
˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚
synopsis: you love him, but when it comes down to it, he will always choose the pack's power over you
✧.*
isaac's grip on your hand tightened, his fingers threading through yours as if creating an unbreakable connection. his touch was warm and reassuring, a lifeline in the midst of the emotional whirlwind. through his eyes, you could see the genuine concern he held for you, a silent promise that he would be there no matter what.
derek's retreating figure left behind an atmosphere thick with unresolved emotions. his rigid shoulders and conflicted expression betrayed the inner turmoil he was grappling with. his gaze lingered on Isaac's comforting gesture, a mixture of envy and resignation flashing in his eyes. the façade of indifference he projected was cracking, revealing the raw edges of the emotions he struggled to suppress.
As the echo of derek's footsteps faded into the distance, isaac's focus shifted entirely to you. his gentle gaze sought to understand the storm of feelings raging within you. without words, he asked if you were holding up okay, his concern carrying a weight that words couldn't capture. with a fragile smile, you conveyed your gratitude for his unwavering support.
days melted into nights, each one a canvas painted with shared moments and whispered confidences. Isaac's presence in your life became an unshakable pillar of strength, a refuge you could turn to in times of uncertainty. the bond between you two deepened, a companionship built on empathy and trust.
meanwhile, derek's demeanor underwent a subtle transformation. the walls he had built so meticulously started to crumble as his internal battle raged on. the mask of detachment he wore was chipped away by the truth of his own emotions. he watched from the sidelines as you and isaac navigated your newfound closeness, a bittersweet ache lodged in his heart.
under the luminous glow of a full moon, derek appeared at your doorstep, his presence unexpected yet somehow anticipated. his gaze held a mixture of trepidation and longing, a vulnerability he had long denied. as his words tumbled out, he bared his soul, confessing the depth of his feelings and the fear that had kept him at arm's length.
“i never meant to hurt you,” derek admitted, his voice heavy with regret. “i pushed you away because i was scared. scared of loving, of losing. but seeing you with him made me realize that i can't keep running from this.”
isaac stood beside you, a silent witness to the vulnerability that derek had finally allowed himself to show. he was the last person derek expected to see inside your house, but he made the silent realization that nothing was going on. “it's never too late to make amends,” isaac said softly, his voice a thread of encouragement.
“you're an asshole,” you snapped, heartstrings tugging as your tone remained harsh. isaac looked at you in surprise. “we all have pain, we all deal with it somehow. you need to find a way, too.”
derek's expression wavered between defensiveness and a flicker of regret. je knew your words were a reflection of the truth he had been evading. the pain he carried had driven him to act in ways that hurt those around him, and the façade he had constructed was crumbling under the weight of your honesty.
“i'm sorry,” derek murmured, his voice carrying a hint of surrender. “i've messed up. i've been scared for so long that i forgot how to do anything else.”
your anger began to ebb, replaced by a mixture of sympathy and frustration. it was a complicated cocktail of emotions, but beneath it all, there was still a glimmer of the connection that had drawn you to derek in the first place.
the following days were a whirlwind of conversations, soul-searching, and hesitant steps toward reconciliation. the emotional landscape shifted as serek began to peel back the layers he had hidden behind for so long. it wasn't an easy process — wounds were still tender, trust still fragile — but it was a journey of growth and redemption.
amidst the tension and catharsis, the bond between you and derek underwent a metamorphosis. the love that had once been tangled in a web of pain was now redefined by newfound understanding and the willingness to heal. derek's guarded façade gave way to a man learning to embrace his emotions, and you found yourself allowing hope to blossom anew.
rhrough tearful conversations and hesitant laughter, the three of you navigated this uncharted territory. the scars of the past served as a reminder of the obstacles you had overcome, and the path forward was illuminated by the shared realization that love, in all its complexities, was worth fighting for.

Rebuilding - Derek Hale x female reader
Tumblr media
Summary: You show Derek the rebuilt Hale House you did for him
Words: 1.8k
warnings: none really; heavy making out
Notes: I can make a smutty part two
Y/N’s POV
The old Hale House had stood as a haunting reminder of the past, a testament to the tragedy and loss the family had endured. But now, it has been transformed into something new, something hopeful. With the combined effort of the pack and my Dad, it had become a symbol of rebirth and unity, a mansion that has welcomed every member with open arms and spare rooms for new pack members.
As I stand in front of the restored mansion, I can’t help but feel a mixture of excitement and nervousness. Derek, who had once lived here in its glory days, deserves to see what I’ve done to the place. He’s been through so much, and I wanted this surprise to be a new beginning for him… for us hopefully.
The anticipation in the air is palpable, and I can’t help but fidget with the key in my hand as I wait for Derek. The old Hale House, bathed in the soft light of the setting sun, seems to hold its breath in eager anticipation of his arrival. And then, I hear it - the familiar purr of Derek’s car engine. It’s a sound that I’ve come to associate with his arrival, and my heart quickens in response. The car pulls down the long, winding driveway, and I keep staring at the house, my hands shaking a little as I fiddle with the keys.
Suddenly, there he is. Derek appears beside me, his tall, brooding frame casting a shadow on the gravel driveway. He looks rugged and handsome as ever, with that alluring air of mystery that has always drawn me to him. His dark brows are furrowed in curiosity and confusion, his eyes scanning the mansion before us as if he’s trying to work out where we are. It makes my heart drop as he doesn’t recognise it despite me trying to keep it as near as I can to the original Hale house.
But then, something remarkable happens. As his eyes roam over the mansion’s exterior, his brows furrow even deeper, and then there’s a hint of disbelief in his expression. It’s as if the familiarity of the place has begun to dawn on him, piece by piece. The realisation hits him like a tidal wave. His kaleidoscope eyes widen, and a gasps escapes his pretty and plump lips, “Is… is this….?” His voice trembles with emotion, and for a moment, he can’t seem to find the words.
I hold out the keys for him and he looks between the house and the keys and then back at the house, “I can’t… I… can you…” His voice falters, and it’s clear that he’s fighting back tears, the enormity of the moment almost too much to bear. Without a word, I’m nodding and reaching for his trembling hands. Our fingers interlace, and with a gentle squeeze, I lead him towards the grand entrance.
Derek’s eyes remain locked onto the mansion, his disbelief and wonder still etched across his features. But he doesn’t need to say anything more for me to understand the whirlwind of emotions storming within him.
I turn the key in the lock, my own fingers trembling slightly with anticipation. The door swings open, revealing the lovingly restored interior. The warm, golden light spills into the entryway, painting a new chapter on the old canvas of the Hale House. The grand entrance is now invitingly open, Derek taking a step forwards. His presence is so close to me that his chest is practically pressed against my back. The feel of him so near is electrifying, and it sends a shiver down my spine.
“Welcome home Derek.” I say, my voice a soft, heartfelt whisper, as we cross the threshold together.
The atmosphere inside is a mixture of nostalgia and fresh beginnings. The original features of the Hale House have been preserved, the hardwood floors polished, the walls adorned with artworks from the pack. The spaciousness of the rooms has been maintained, yet there’s a sense of cozy warmth that wasn’t there before.
Derek’s gaze dances the space, a mixture of awe and sentimentality reflected in his expressive eyes. He appreciates the care and attention that went into preserving the essence of the house he called home.
Then, he grabs my hands again with a gentle yet firm grip, leading me through the echoing halls as the pack gave us the house for Derek to see alone.  It’s a touch that sends a rush of warmth through me, the electricity of his touch palatable. We move through the house, our footsteps echoing, and Derek’s strides confident, as if he’s revisiting his own memories.
As we ender the kitchen, Derek stops in his tracks. A soft, almost reverent sound escapes him, and his eyes widen again as he takes in the layout. It’s practically identical to the original Hale House kitchen, meticulously restored to match his recollections with the help of creepy uncle Peter.
His grip on my hand tightens, and he turns to me, his expression filled with amazement, “This… it’s just like I remember it.” He says, his vice soft and filed with wonder, “You’ve brought it all back to life.”
I can’t help but smile at his reaction. The kitchen holds countless memories for him, both happy and bittersweet, and seeing it so faithfully restored means the world to him. "We wanted it to feel like home," I reply, my voice equally hushed, knowing how much this place means to him. Derek’s thumb brushes over the back of my hand, his touch conveying the depth of his gratitude. It’s a silent exchange of emotions, the unspoken understanding between us.
And then, something changes in the air. Derek turns to me, his kaleidoscope eyes now shining with warmth and something else, something that sends a shiver of anticipation down my spine. His gaze flits down my lips, and in response, I can’t help but wet them with my tongue, suddenly feeling acutely aware of their dryness. It draws a small sound from Derek’s throat, low and almost involuntary, a testament to the magnetic pull between us. He leans in, closing the distance between our lips with a purposeful intent. Our mouths meet in a soft, longing kiss, a silent declaration of the emotions that have simmered between us for so long.
His lips are soft yet insistent, moving against mine with a deliberate tenderness. I can feel the gentle, rhythmic movement of his mouth, each touch setting my heart racing. There’s a hint of urgency in his kiss, a desire that has been simmering just beneath the surface. Derek’s hands finding their way to my waist, holding e close as if he never wants to let me go. The touch of his fingertips against my skin sends shivers down my spine, and I press my body closer to his, wanting to feel every inch of him.
My own hands move to rest on his chest, feeling the solid warmth of his body beneath my touch. They gradually work their way up, entwining in his shirt, wanting to pull him closer still. The connection between us deepens with every passing second, a silent confirmation of the emotions we’ve held back fr so long.
Derek’s hands, which had been gently holding my waist, suddenly tighten their grip and before I can react, he’s lifting me up with a powerful yet careful motion. My legs instinctively wrap around this waist as he sets me on the edge of the kitchen island, never once breaking the kiss.
Our lips remain locked in a heated embrace, a heated embrace, a testament to the fiery passion that's been ignited between us. Derek's tongue brushes over my lips, seeking entrance, and without hesitation, I part them, with a small, embracing sound escaping my lips which he swallows, tongue slipping past my lips. It's a dance of desire, a clash of longing, and a melding of two souls that have been drawn together by an irresistible force. Our mouths move with a shared urgency, each kiss deeper and more consuming than the last.
As our tongues explore and intertwine, Derek’s grip on my hips tightens, pulling me closer until I’m arched on the edge of the kitchen island. The sensation of his body pressed against mine is electrifying, sending heat down south where I’m pressed against his growing problem. It has my thighs tightening around him, hips jerking a little and drawing sounds from both of us.
Finally our lips part, but only slightly, our foreheads resting against each other as we catch our breath. Derek’s voice is a husky whisper, filled with raw desire, “I’ve wanted to do that for so long.” He confesses, his words heavy with yearning, “ I couldn’t keep it in any longer.”
My heart flutters at his admission, and I look into his kaleidoscope eyes, my own filled with the same longing, “Der…” I breathe, “I’ve felt the same way. I’ve wanted this as much as you have.”
His lips find mine again, and the kiss that follows is fierce and fervent, a passionate culmination of our unspoken desires. It's a promise, a declaration, and a celebration of the love that has finally been acknowledged.
But then, Derek's lips trail down from mine to my neck, and his kisses ignite a trail of fire across my skin. I gasp as his mouth leaves a mark, a fervent, possessive hickey, and another one right beside it. Each one is a silent proclamation of his desire, a mark of his longing for me. As Derek's kisses continue to trail down my neck, I gasp and my fingers clutch at his shoulders. The sensation is almost too much to bear, the heat of his mouth leaving a trail of fire across my skin, marked by possessive hickeys.
“Y/N,” He murmurs breathlessly voice heavy with desire, “If we don’t stop, I won’t be able to stop myself.” He pulls away slightly, his eyes dark and smouldering now and he lets out a low and sensual chuckle when an embarrassing moan escapes me.
“Maybe…” I have to clear my throat, “Maybe we should check out your room.” My heart is racing as I say it, looking at him with a mixture of curiosity and desire, eager to hear his response but also somewhat ready for the rejection.
Instead, he groans, head falling to my shoulder before he growls out, “Don’t… don’t say things like that baby girl.” I stay silent, knowing there’s more and he kissing my collarbone sweetly before murmuring, “But, I think it’s a very, very good idea.”

┌──────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ────────┐
Beacon Hills was supposed to be a sanctuary from all things supernatural.
After what felt like over a century (because it was), Sera Salvatore needed a break.
Which was admittedly a little hypocritical considering she herself was a vampire, but she was desperate for an escape from all the drama and chaos that her family - namely her brothers - had brought to Mystic Falls. So she decided to start afresh, again.
After only one year of living back in her hometown, she picked up and went to the furthest most point in the continental United States, which just so happened to land her here. From Georgia, all the way to sunny California. It would be a nice change.
She was fortunate enough that she could pass as quite young whenever she settled in a new place. With the help of makeup, clothing, and a healthy amount of dishonesty she managed to blend into freshman year at Beacon Hills High without anyone even batting an eye.
It was now one year ago today that she had started her first day, which turned out to be a breeze.
~
January 3rd, 2010
“You’re humiliating,” I expressed my annoyance flatly as I stood by the door, waiting for my brother to let go of my jacket that he had been straightening before I left the house.
He patted my shoulder with a motherly smile as if he was sending his child off to kindergarten, then took a step back to play the role further.
“Have you got everything?” he asked as he nodded to my bag.
I let out a breathy chuckle. I didn’t hate him as much as I let on… mostly.
“I packed you a blood bag for lunch,” he continued, that smirk of his right at home on his smug face - never a dull moment.
My hand reached for my keys on the side table as I walked backward towards the door, shaking my head to stop my lips from forming a smile of their own. “How thoughtful,” I retorted sarcastically.
But just as I was about to step outside I stopped to say one last thing, “Thanks for helping me move in and all,” my tone was much more genuine than it typically was when speaking to him, but I really was grateful.
Moving across the country would’ve been infinitely harder without his company on the road, and without being able to play the little sister card and sit back while he does the heavy lifting. But… and I would never admit it… but even now, starting a new school was just as scary as it always has been and a part of me liked that I had my big brother there to see me off.
I quickly cut our sappy little chat short with another comment, “But, I expect you to be gone when I get home.” I arched an eyebrow and pointed a finger at him.
He was definitely the fun brother, but with fun comes impulsivity - a trait that must be genetic, and must have skipped my twin - and with impulsivity comes a long string of ‘animal attacks’. And that was exactly the drama in question that I wanted to escape, so I had brought along a surplus of blood bags to hold me until I found a more permanent solution.
He held his hands up in surrender, “I’ll be out within the hour.”
“Okay. I’ll see ya,” I said finally as I stepped outside, hiding from the brisk winter cold in the confines of my leather jacket.
My words were met with another smile and a nod from my brother before he spoke again. “Tell me how it went when you’re home.” The protective mother was back. But this time, it wasn’t just a joke, he was lucky we had no witnesses since he’d hate to ruin his tough-guy persona.
I almost laughed at him again, but I didn’t. As humans me and my brothers were incredibly close, but over time that faded. Me and our other brother never really settled that, but over the past year back in Mystic Falls me and the eldest fell back into old patterns.
“I will,” I gave in with a joking eye-roll. “Bye Damon,” I waved his way.
“Bye Seffie,” he returned, getting a kick out of my suddenly sour face.
Seffie. A nickname he saddled me with at the age of 4 and has stuck with me ever since. But my real name was a mouthful, so I chose to go by Sera - a fact Damon will insist on disregarding for the rest of our eternal lives.
As I walked away my once friendly hand gesture turned into a middle finger as I heard him laugh behind me and shut the door as I made my way to my new school.
~
The moment I stepped foot in the doors I noticed some heads turn, some overheard whispers from passers-by that fuelled my ego just that bit more as I walked up to reception and signed in.
First-period English went smoothly, then it was History which ironically was focused on the confederacy (not me and my siblings' proudest fight). And it was safe to say the teacher was thoroughly impressed with my knowledge on the subject, little did he know I quite literally lived it.
But after class was when my day took a turn.
“1076, 1076,” I repeated under my breath as I went to scour the halls for my new locker, but the break rush made my search all the more difficult with what felt like a million people charging around.
But finally, I seemed to be in luck as I read the numbers to my right; 1080, 1079, 1078, 1077, and…
Crash.
I took a deep breath and a frustrated sigh at the smug-faced, blond jock who had just practically booked it into my side, knocking all of my books out of my hands, and causing me to jump at the deafening sound of them hitting the tile floor. ‘Great,’ I thought satirically. The prick didn’t even bother to look back! Let alone be kind enough to help me pick them back up again.
But someone else did. In fact, two other boys seemed to have played witness and immediately came scrambling up to my side.
“Hey, uh-” the one with darker features and a crooked jawline, giving him a somewhat goofy smile stuttered, stopping after his friend who stood politely next to him not-so-subtly jabbed him in the side with his elbow, causing him to bring a hand to it and shoot his friend a glare.
“What he meant to say was, do you want a hand with that?” The slightly taller friend with the buzzed brown hair asked after his friend's failure to do so.
I could do nothing but laugh slightly at both of their clear excitement and reply with a smile, “I’d love one.”
Picking up books was a simple task that I most definitely could’ve done myself in probably half the time, but nothing compared to watching them both drop to the floor and bat at each other's hands in a frantic competition to ‘help the most.’ My smile grew wider and I brought a hand up to rest on my forehead. This was already a refreshing change since none of the boys back home would have ever done the same.
Soon, they both stood back up in front of me, proud looks on both of their faces as they put the books in my open locker for me.
“Thank you,” I chuckled in response.
“No problem,” the more hyper one added before quickly speaking again at a constant, lightning pace. “I’m Stiles, by the way,” he gestured to himself, “and this is my buddy, Scott,” his hand moved over to pat the other boy on the shoulder.
“Nice to meet you, Stiles and Scott,” I nodded back at them, still trying to bite back an amused grin, “I’m Sera.”
“You’re new here right?” Scott spoke again with an innocent look of pure curiosity.
I put my hands together behind my back and rocked on my heels slightly, “Mhm, started this morning,” a somewhat nervous chuckle left my lips, which the one called Stiles seemed to pick up on because he quickly interjected.
“I mean, we’d be happy to show you ‘round if you wanna hang with us,” he offered, a hopeful shrug on his shoulders and a pout on his lips.
“Wouldn’t we, Scott,” he then batted the back of his hand against his friend’s arm, glaring at him to respond.
Scott quickly blinked and nodded rapidly, “Oh, yeah, of course.”
I bit my lip in contemplation, they did seem awfully nice. “I’d love to, but I’ve gotta go to the office quickly, but maybe I’ll catch up with you guys later,” my counter seemed to be accepted without a second thought as I studied their expressions.
When I stepped backward I noticed how they didn’t leave just yet, so I said, “Bye boys, I’ll see you around,” with a small wiggle of my fingers as a wave.
“See you around, Sera,” Stiles repeated as he and Scott both mimicked my step back, his hand raising up to do a little salute before we turned our backs to each other.
I could not help the quiet giggle that escaped my mouth after I was out of their eyeline, but I also could not help but hear what they were saying to each other down the hall.
“Why the fuck did you salute?” Scott whispered, hitting Stiles back in retaliation for earlier.
“I- I don’t know, okay?” Stiles replied slightly panicked.
My smile grew. What idiots.
As for the conversation with the receptionist, it went smoothly with a little help from my immaculate ‘people skills’.
“I’m sorry but we insist on transcripts. And your immunisation records seem to be missing,” the lady said, peering over her glasses as she looked through my files.
My sigh was followed by me leaning forward, looking into her eyes as I watched her pupils dilate - she just had to make this more difficult.
“Please look again, I’m sure you’ll find everything you’re looking for.” A proud smirk laced my lips as she did exactly that, nodding and sending me on my way. Too easy.
During lunch, I did end up joining the boys at their table, taking a seat next to Stiles and definitely not missing the wide-eyed look he gave to Scott, along with his stuttered breath as I leaned over him to reach my pen that had rolled across the table.
The portrayal of vampires in Twilight had always annoyed me due to its incredible inaccuracy, but it was beyond amusing how easy it was for me to read their minds, even without special powers.
~
That day had ended with new numbers in everyone’s phones and Sera scoring a new ride to school and back every day in her new friend’s beaten-up old Jeep (which she thought had enough charm to distract from the deafening sound it made when running).
And from that moment forward, the three were inseparable.
ੈ✩‧₊˚
hope you enjoyed !
this was basically to just tell you what to expect from the rest of the series. might not post it all on here unless you want me to so check out my ao3 and wattpad ( @crazyinluvfix ) like and comment x

Thank You, For Being You
Isaac Lahey x Fem! Reader Series
Ice Pick
Omega Part 1 | Omega Part 2 | Shape Shifted | Abomination | Venomous | Frenemy | Restraint | Raving | Party Guessed |
Prompt: You haven’t seen Isaac since that night and it’s been effecting you more than you care to admit. However, after finding out Derek is turning teenagers, you have more dangerous things to worry about.
a/n: So i don’t think there’s gonna be a lot of issac and y/n in this chapter :(( but i hope you guys still find it enjoyable! I really love writing her friendship between Scott and Stiles. I know we've seen a lot of the bond between Stiles and y/n so im excited to add more to the bond of Scott and y/n this time!
—————————————————————————————
It’s been a little while since that night on the full moon, you haven’t seen Isaac or Derek so you couldn’t even ask the so called ‘sour wolf’ on whether Isaac was okay or not. You finally told Scott about what happened on the field that day and it was nice for you two just to talk about everything. Everything ended up including how you felt about Isaac, which was definitely embarrassing to come clean about. You still remember the slight tear that had traveled down your face as Scott held your hand. Scott had made it clear that everything was okay and when you saw Isaac again, you would be able to talk to him about everything for real.
To say you dwelled on it the last few days would be an understatement, it plagued your mind every second of everyday. Where was he? Was he okay? Was he mad at you?
You grumbled in frustration, giving your cheeks slight taps, you could worry some more later. Right now, you would just let yourself be entertained by Allison dominating Scott at the rock climb.
“For a werewolf, he’s really bad at this,” you said, looking at Stiles.
He laughed, “Yeah, at this rate, I could beat him.”
“Okay, don’t get too ahead of yourself, you can’t even beat me.” Stiles looked at you, “Uh yeah, that’s because you cheat,” he sassed back.
“How do you cheat at rock climb,” you exclaimed.
Stiles folded his arms, “You just do,” by now Scott had joined the two of you along with Allison, “Alright you two, chill out.” You pointed at Stiles accusingly, “He started it!” The boy gasped in horror as if the accusation had pierced him but before he could make a comeback, Coach had already called for him.
“Alright, next two! Stilinski, Erica, let’s go!”
Your expression dropped, Erica was called. The poor girl was never good at these types of things, not to mention, you could tell she struggled with being in front of other people. It didn’t help that half the school took any opportunity to laugh at her. In the end, you did truly feel bad for her, you tried to reach out but every try was a failure. She would get these big ‘deer stuck in headlights’ eyes and stutter off an apology before escaping through to the nearest door.
Your attention went to the two of them as they started to make their way up the wall. Stiles surprisingly made his way up and down pretty fast, he whipped around when he hit the ground to send you a smug grin. Erica on the other hand, barely made it off the ground before she had started to hyperventilate.
“Erica, you dizzy? Is it vertigo?” You gave Coach a confused look at the suggestion and you weren’t the only one.
“Vertigo’s a dysfunction of the vestibular system of the inner ear. She’s just freaking out.” Lydia explained with a roll of her eyes. Everyone continued to look up at Erica.
“I’m fine,” she called out.
“Coach, maybe it’s not safe,” Allison voiced her concern, “you know she’s epileptic.” Coach’s head snapped towards her in shock, “Why doesn’t anybody tell me this stuff?” You raised an eyebrow at him, “It would be in her file.” He waved you off before going back to Erica.
“Erica, you’re fine. Just kick off from the wall,” he explained slowly, “there’s a mat to catch you.” She nodded ever so slightly before slowly separating from the wall and gliding down towards the mat. Coach supported her weight as she regained her balance. “You’re alright, shake it off,” he said lightly. You had reached out to take her hand but she had already started making her way through the crowd. You could tell she was embarrassed. How could she not be? Half the class was chuckling at her misfortune like it was some kind of comedy show. Walking up to Scott, your eyes kept burning into her back, making sure she was physically okay.
“They’re all such jackasses,” you remarked. Scott’s attention was now on you, he agreed before his shoulders dropped in concern.
Soon enough class was over, you were in the girl’s locker room when you felt your eyes glow. You hid your face from the rest of the girls but Allison must have seen because her hand was on your shoulder in a second, “Y/N what’s wrong?” Shaking your head, you shrugged her hand off slightly. “I don’t know, probably nothing, I still haven’t really learned to control it,” you suggested. It convinced the dark haired girl enough because she turned back to her gym locker to continue what she was previously doing. You did as well, opening your locker you looked in the small mirror you had attached to the door. Examining your face slightly, your eyes glowed once more, this time something in your mind snapped. You flung your body around, staring at the door.
“Erica.”
Allison looked at you once more, “What?” She questioned. She never got an answer, you had already sprinted out the door. Allison called for you, following you down the hallway.
“Scott!” You screamed noticing his figure just barely before he disappeared into the dark gym. You followed him, feet slamming heavily on the gym floor. The sound of others rushing towards you guys could be heard as Scott caught Erica just before she hit the ground and you reached her as well, supporting her weight to the best of your ability. She had starting seizing, shaking uncontrollably in Scott’s arms.
“Set her on the ground,” you urged, Scott nodded and hurriedly placed her on the floor as gentle as he could. By now others had joined you, including Allison and Stiles both with worried expressions. “Put her on her side. Put her on her side,” Allison repeated. She looked at both of you, “How’d you guys know?”
The two of you made eye contact both shrugging, “I just felt it,” Scott said and you nodded.
~
“Boyd.”
It was the next day, in the cafeteria and right now your time was being occupied by Stiles. He had dragged you with him to talk to Boyd, another kid in your class who worked at the ice rink. Currently said spastic boy was trying to get the keys to the rink from Boyd. However, things weren’t going as planned.
“You got the keys?” Stiles asked his body turned half away facing towards the windows of the cafeteria. Boyd stuck his hand out keys dangling making Stiles smile. He grasped the keys from the boy’s hand but to no avail Boyd didn’t release his grip. Confused Stiles tugged again. No progress.
“This isn’t a favor. It’s a transaction,” Boyd reminded.
“Right, yeah,” Stiles replied retrieving his wallet from his pocket, “Absolutely,” he placed a twenty dollar bill on the table. Boyd gave nothing but an unimpressed look, “I said fifty.”
“Really-,” stuttered back Stiles, “I remember twenty. I don’t know. I have a really good verbal memory. And I remember twenty. I remember that distinctive ‘twa’ sound. Twa-enty.” Boyd cut him off, “I said fifty,” he said firmly.
“With a ‘fa’ sound. Hear the difference? If you can’t, I can demonstrate some other words with the ‘fa’ sound.”
Your head rolled from side to side, “Yes trust me, he remembers,” you concluded with annoyance. You didn’t even care if you actually got the keys or not. You didn’t even want to go, well not now, you did before. Before Stiles had invited Lydia at least. You didn’t mind the red haired girl, or you didn’t hate her that is, but Scott had also invited Allison before hand. Originally, it was just meant to be your four meaning Stiles and you were gonna be the other pair since no doubt Allison and Scott were gonna have one another’s attention. Now that Lydia was invited, you were for sure gonna be the one left out. You weren’t angry at either of the boys or girls, just a little bummed that one of your favorite activities was now going to cause you to be an awkward fifth wheel.
Stiles blinked rapidly, “No, no, no. I think I’m recalling it now. Maybe I just got it confused with forty.” He slowly placed another twenty on the table. You could practically feel your eyes roll into the back of your head ‘this was getting to be too idiotic’ you thought. Boyd stayed silence, slowly putting a Dorito in his mouth causing you to snort. Boyd smirked pushing the bag towards you and you gladly took one. Giving him a slight nod, you leaned back in your chair to finish watching the train wreck in front of you. Stiles let out a defeated huff, “Come on, man, have you seen the piece of crap Jeep that I drive?”
“Have you seen the piece of crap bus that I take,” Boyd countered effortlessly.
You reached into your bag and quickly grabbed a ten dollar bill from the side pocket, “Here, I’m growing bored of this back and forth your trying to pull with him,” you said to Stiles sliding the cash across the table. Boyd smiled wide, reaching out once more keys in hand, this time Stiles needed no effort to take them from his hand. Cocking an eyebrow over at you he stood from his seat, “What’s your problem?”
“Sorry, I’m not exactly excited to be a fifth wheel,” you snarked before looking back at Boyd, “Thank you, you’re the best. Sorry about him.” The boy acknowledged your statement before returning to his act of eating.
“What do you mean ‘fifth wheel’,” Stiles questioned confused. You scoffed at him, “I mean exactly what I said,” you gestured your hand back towards your usual table, “you invited Lydia. Scott, Allison, Lydia, you,” you counted on your hand then motioned to yourself, “Fifth wheel.”
He mocked your scoff, “Oh, please, you’re not going to be a fifth wheel.” He wrapped his arm around you, “You’re our girl, you know that. We’re never just gonna leave you out.” You rolled your eyes, “Maybe not intentionally but Scott’s like a lost puppy dog around Allison and you’re no better when it comes to Lydia.” You saw a slight smirk rise onto the boy’s face, he tilted his head towards you, “We’ll if you’re that jealous we could always invite Jackson to keep you company.”
Disgusted, you made a face, “Ew gross, I wouldn’t be caught dead hanging out with Jackson especially not by choice.” He hummed, “You’re not denying that you’re jealous.”
You jabbed his gut causing him to recoil slightly, “I’m not jealous. Why is that even the first thing that comes to your mind? What, are you trying to make me jealous, Stilinski? Have all these years you harbored a crush on me, huh?” You teased, “Are you in love with me, Stiles?” He jumped back, “Don’t you even start with me, no, to all of that,” he waved his hands motioning to your figure.
“Wow didn’t realize I was that ugly,” by now you had reached where Scott was sitting, taking his apple you bit into while you listened to Stiles ramble, “THAT is NOT what I meant and you know it.” You assumed Scott had been listening in on the whole discussion since he was wearing an amuse look on his face. Stiles had sat across from you two, pointing at you like a disappointed parent, “Got em’,” he finally concluded placing the keys onto the table, “Pick you up right after work tonight and we’ll meet at the rink, cool?” Scott’s attention was already caught somewhere else and so was yours.
As if it was a whole different person, Erica strutted through the cafeteria wearing an outfit you would’ve never even considered that she owned. Her hair was done and her makeup as well. She made her way to a table where sat two random boys as she reached over and grabbed one of their apples, biting into it. Her dark red lipstick smeared slightly and she wasted no time wiping it away with a sultry smirk.
“What,” Lydia had joined her hands lightly slapping on your table, “the holy hell is that?”
“It’s Erica.”
You three never even had to look at each other before you dashed into the hallway together, jumping down the stairs and out the doors you find her once more but this time she was with someone. Derek. She was getting into Derek’s car, staring you down as if she was some kind of Bond villain. Once she was fully in the car, Derek sped away. You and Stiles both just sighed as your shoulders dropped, while Scott’s jaw tighten.
“Well now there’s three,” you remarked monotonously.
~
After school you had joined Scott at his work. While you didn’t work there, you often joined him on his shifts, thankfully early on Scott had gotten Deaton (his boss) to agree to it. Provided that you of course didn’t mess with anything, which you never did. It was just a great way to make sure Scott’s homework would actually get finished, plus it gave you somewhere to be instead of just home alone.
When Peter was alive, Scott had gotten shot and Deaton had taken care of it, he had also kept Peter from taking Scott. To this day you and Scott still don’t understand what exactly happened. How exactly Deaton knows about how to heal Scott. Actually, when you found out that Deaton knew something about the supernatural, he was your first choice to ask about what’s going on with you. You just never found a good time to ask, hence why you ended up asking Derek. Scott has also been trying to have a talk with Deaton about everything, which is where you are right now.
“Hey Doc.”
Deaton turned to face Scott. “When are we gonna talk about… the thing that we never got a chance to talk about?”
“Ah, yes. We never did get a chance to talk about that, did we?” You perked up, trying to listen to the quiet conversation going on across the room. Scott shook his head in response to Deaton’s question.
“Now is definitely a good time.”
“Thank God.”
“What do you think? Two dollars?” You tilted your head, what the hell? Apparently you weren’t the only the only one thrown off by the statement. Scott’s eyebrows scrunched together slightly, “Two dollars?”
“Ah you’re right, two-fifty more a hour. It seems like a pretty good raise.” You sighed, apparently now wasn’t a good time to talk about what you two actually wanted to know.
“That’s not exactly what I was… wait two-fifty more a hour?” Scott was cut off guard by the offer, “Done, don’t forget to clean up the cat cages.” Deaton shook his hand and left the room before Scott could come to terms with what just happened.
“Damn, he just cleaned your clock, you know that right?”
“What?”
You rolled your eyes and chuckled, “Nevermind.”
~
After Scott had finished his shift, Stiles arrived to pick you both up. You were on your way to the ice rink now, you were also still grumbling and whining in the back seat as he was driving. He looked at you from the rear view mirror and Scott twisted back to see you as well, they both laughed at your small fit you were in the process of throwing.
“Come on, Y/N. It won’t be that bad, we’re not gonna leave you out,” Scott reassured tapping your knee as you turned up your nose at them.
“Yeah, brighten up, plus we could still call Jackson to come hang out with you, if you want,” Stiles laughed.
You moaned, “No, absolutely not.”
Scott had glanced at Stiles slightly, had you been paying attention you would’ve seen the sly look they exchanged before Scott turned towards you once more, “Are you sure you’re not jealous?” You felt yourself choke on air, clearing your throat you said, “Why would I be?” Scott shrugged, “I don’t know, you didn’t have a problem with this idea until Lydia was invited. Maybe you wanted Stiles all to yourself.” You snapped your head down from looking at the ceiling to now both boys and you saw the cocky smirks they were both wearing. You scoffed and kicked both their seats, “Bite me.”
“Hey, what did Roscoe do to you?”
To be honest, this isn’t the first time you three have had this back forth (all joking of course), since Melissa has had you for so long she’s always treated you and Scott like you two were siblings. Stiles on the other hand, wasn’t allow in your room because he was a boy. Melissa had always given him a slight look when he would get too close as well. Those two things eventually dissipated and became less of a concern as you both got older. The inside joke between you three, did not unfortunately. After Scott had found out about your slightly different rules when it came to Stiles, you were teased tremendously for supposedly having a crush on the boy. Every time brought both boys pain to the gut.
You three arrived at the ice rink, Scott leaving and holding his door opened for you as Stiles came around the side to join you. Allison and Lydia had shown up already waiting for you. The boys went to unlock the doors as you follow close behind, when they finally got them unlocked they turned to you both playfully biting each side of your shoulders.
“Ow, what the hell was that for?”
“You said to bite you,” they synced.
The girls walked up, Allison reaching for Scott and Lydia barely acknowledging Stiles before walking past you both. You gave him a pointed and mocking look, he gave you a push before closing the doors and you both made your ways towards the rink.
You sat down in the bleachers, little bit away from where Lydia and Stiles were currently sitting. You know they were talking but quite frank you couldn’t really hear them. You had brought yourself a book because even though your best friends spent the whole day stressing that you wouldn’t be sidelined, you knew them way better than they thought you did. You glanced at your phone and debated on maybe calling someone to pick you up, but who would you even call?
Jackson? Absolutely not, even if you did, he wouldn’t come get you and you wouldn’t be able to stop yourself from punching him in the face if he did.
Danny? No, you didn’t want to bother the poor boy.
Matt? No way in hell, he gave you the absolute creeps.
Isaac? Now that, was a maybe, however the boy was in the wind. You didn’t even know if he had his phone or if he would even pick up. You haven’t spoken since that night at the police station and considering Erica’s behavior you were skeptical that the Isaac you knew would be the one to show up.
You sighed, placing your phone back next to you, with your hands at your cheeks and elbows on your knees, you watched Scott and Allison walk off towards the rink. Eventually so did the silent pair that was on your other side. Deciding it was best to just suck it up, you got off the bench and stepped onto the ice. It was one of your favorite activities after all. You twirled and skated, playfully messing around in the corner while the other four did their thing, all in their own worlds. That is, until you heard a scream. It was truly deafening, terrifying, unlike anything you had ever heard before. You placed your feet in stopping position and scanned to find the owner of the scream, only to find Lydia on her hands and knees screeching at the ice below her.
You all make your way towards her, inquiring on if she was alright, searching for any sign that something was wrong but nothing. All that could be done was Stiles holding her while she whaled.
~
The next morning at school, you were leaving class. You kind have been avoiding Stiles and Scott today, only talking to them this morning while on the way to school. You didn’t realize it before but you were more hurt by being left alone than you thought. After what happened with Lydia you guys all decided it was time to leave and when you got home, you quietly made your way to your room mentioning to Scott about just being tired. You had laid in bed for a couple hours wide awake, just thinking.
Were you jealous? No, you couldn’t be, despite the jokes, you didn’t actually like Stiles nor Scott like that.
After you had pondered for a little bit, you had found your answer.
Were you scared? Maybe. But scared of what?
...
Being replaced.
For the longest time, it was just Scott, Stiles and you. The trio. Always together, always there for each other. You did everything together and sure you knew eventually you would find partners and maybe other friends but it never dawned on you that if the boys each found someone, you would possibly be fazed out. You knew they would never intentionally do anything to push you away but that didn’t stop your worrying.
Your thoughts were cut off by a slam to the lockers. You turned the corner to see Erica backing up Scott against the lockers. Allison was in the distance too, she was witnessing everything. You didn’t know what exactly was happening but you knew that it was nothing good. You marched towards the two, grabbing Erica’s shoulder.
“What do you think you're doing?”
Erica finished her sentence to Scott, he gripped her wrist and pulled her off of him. She snarled at you before turning her back away from you.
“I’ll tell Isaac you said hi.”
You felt yourself falter, Scott noticed that your whole demeanor changed as well. He looked down and grabbed your hand squeezing it.
“I haven’t seen you today, we haven’t seen you,” he clarified. You took a shallow breath, “Yeah just had a lot on my mind.” He kept his gaze on you, “Is it about Isaac?”
You shook your head.
“Is it about the ice rink?”
You hesitated, before slowly nodding. Scott sighed, before pulling you off to the side, “We weren’t kidding when we said you’re not a fifth wheel.”
“I know, it’s not really that,” you mumbled, staring at your feet.
“Then what’s the matter?” You shrugged, swaying like a child before mumbling your answer once more, “I just kind of feel like I’m being replaced.” Scott was taken aback by your answer, he had no clue what to say. There was an odd silence in the air for a little while before Scott finally figured out what he wanted to say, “What made you feel like that?”
All you could do was shrugged once more. Talking about this was so hard. You finally sighed, “Okay, before I start, I’m gonna say this once and only once. No, I don’t have a crush on Stiles. Look honestly it’s just the fact that he’s trying to integrate her to be a part of us. I know it sounds silly but it’s true. It’s completely different with Allison, she’s your girlfriend, plus I’ve never had any problems with her. Lydia’s just I don’t know, she’s not awful, definitely better than Jackson. I guess since she’s not Stiles’ girlfriend, I get annoyed because with you two it’s different. You guys are DATING, of course I expect you guys to be in your own world but Stiles… she doesn’t even acknowledge him half the time so I know all his attention is going to be him trying to get hers. At least if they were dating it would be the same situation but it’s not. He’s-.”
“Okay, okay, hey look at me. Calm down, at this rate you're gonna make the lockers fly off the wall,” Scott joked holding your hands.
You wiped the tears that you hadn’t even realized had been falling, “Sorry.” Scott moved his hands to your shoulders, “Don’t be sorry, now what were you going to say?”
You took a deep breath, “He’s supposed to be my single buddy, you know, the friend that becomes your pair when the other starts dating someone. I guess in the end, I don’t really feel like you’re trying to replace me but Stiles is.”
“No, no, no, look I know I don’t need to say it but I’m going to, we’re not trying to replace you. Y/N, you’re our best friend, we’re family. Nothing and I mean nothing, could ever replace the bonds we share with you.”
Hearing that made you feel so much lighter, you know deep down you were being kind of ridiculous but maybe to keep you from imploding you just needed to hear that. That you were important.
“You’re right.”
“And I’m gonna talk to Stiles.” Your eyes widened, “What, no! Don’t do that, it’s fine!”
“Too late. Now come on let’s go to lunch.”
Scott had that goofy grin, that grin that says ‘I’ve got everything planned.’ “Also, you didn’t need to say that you didn’t have a crush on Stiles. I know you only have eyes on Isaac.” That caught you off guard, you choked on air, your head shooting up to look at Scott who just had that stupid smug smile on his face.
“Shut up.”
“It’s true! Even before all this happened, I remember when you two got assigned for that project together. You wouldn’t stop talking about it and you would mention him one too many times for it just to be because you had a project together.” You felt like your heart was gonna beat out of your chest. You knew that he knew but you didn’t know that he knew all that.
“Is it that obvious?” You said meakly.
~
During lunch, Stiles had rushed in to point out that Boyd was missing from school today, meaning Derek had gotten to him. That’s what you were dealing with now, the game plan. It was already after school and Scott was sending Stiles to Boyd’s house. He was also trying to send you as well but you wouldn’t budge, not when there was a chance to see Isaac. To see him okay.
“If he’s not home you call me, got it?” Scott instructed as you three headed down the hallway.
Stiles had slow his pace which Scott noticed immediately, “What?”
“Maybe we should let him. Boyd, you know? You said Derek’s giving them a choice, right?”
Scott grabbed his shoulder pulling him down the hallway, you trailing right behind them, “We can’t.”
“You got to admit, Erica looks pretty good. The word 'sensational' comes to mind.”
You scoffed, “Yeah, because she was basically manipulated into believing that this would fix all her problems. Sure she heard what Derek warned her about but I can guarantee she wasn’t listening. Big difference. I would put money on it that Derek is brushing it off like he did with Scott ‘If you listen to me, you’ll be fine.’ He won’t give them answers just false security.”
“How do you think she’s gonna look with a wolfsbane bullet in her head,” Scott argued as well.
Stiles took both your comments to heart, “Alright, all I’m saying is maybe this one, isn’t totally your responsibility.”
“They are,” Scott disagreed, “You know this thing is gonna get out of control and that makes me responsible.”
“Not to mention, could we live with ourselves if something happened to them, knowing we could have possibly helped them?” You added.
Stiles’ hands clapped to his sides, “Alright, I’m with you guys. And I also got to say this newfound heroism in you two is making me very attracted to you.”
You and Scott scoffed, “Shut up.”
“No, seriously. Do you want to just try making out for a second? We could take turns,” he suggested gesturing to you three as you pushed him away, “Just to see how it feels.”
“How about I take my fist to your face so you can see how that feels?”
~
Scott and you had reached the ice rink to see Boyd finishing out his shift. You had hurried closer, calling to him to get his attention.
“Boyd!”
“We just want to talk,” you pleaded.
At the sound of your voice, Boyd’s head had tilted up towards you.
“Hey, come on, Boyd, please,” Scott begged, “Did Derek tell you everything? And I don’t just mean going out of control on the full moons. I mean everything.” Boyd had shut down the machine he was using, “He told me about the hunters.”
“And that’s not enough for you to say no,” you asked. Scott continued your point, “Whatever you want, there’s other ways to get it.”
“I just want to not eat lunch alone everyday.” His statement froze you, you hadn’t considered something like that but still.. this wasn’t the best way.
“Trust us, Boyd, if you’re looking for friends, you can do a lot better than Derek,” you said.
“That really hurts, Y/N.” Derek. Of course he was here. Scott had turned around making sure you were behind him but that didn’t stop you from seeing him.
Isaac. He was okay, well at least you thought so. You were right though, he definitely wasn’t the same boy from before. Now, he not only dressed differently but he wore a different expression entirely. The sweet smile you adored was gone, replaced with a smug smile. “I mean if you’re gonna review me at least take a consensus,” Derek motioned to the two teenagers beside him.
“Erica, how’s life been for you since we met?”
“In a word… transformative,” She roared, literally. You and Scott adjusted your stances already seeing where this was going.
“Isaac?”
“Well, I’m a little bummed about be a fugitive but other than that, I’m great.”
You scoffed, “Let me add to that. Did dear old Derek tell you the whole reason Scott is in this mess, the whole reason all of us are in this mess, is because of his family.” You had moved next to Scott by now, pointing at Derek, “Did he tell you that the only reason he’s an alpha is because he decided to be a selfish prick and slash his own uncle’s throat? Even after he said he wouldn’t for Scott’s sake?” Your rant had caused an awkward feeling to fall in the room. The two teenagers clearly looked slightly uncomfortable at the new information, Derek had cleared his throat before staring back at Scott. You crossed your arms, looking at Scott before facing the newly formed pack, “I guess he didn’t. Hm, interesting, don’t you think?”
Scott had taken a few steps forward, “Okay, hold on. This isn’t exactly a fair fight.”
“Then go home, Scott,” Derek smiled.
With a growl, Scott had punched the ice denting the surface, “I meant fair for them.”
Isaac and Erica had no problem advancing towards Scott. He had taken your arm and quickly moved you closer to the machine and Boyd, out of the way and safe. Scott turned and without any effort flung Isaac across the rink, moving on to slam Erica into the side of the ice rink machine. That didn’t stop the two from getting back up and trying again. They had actually had a second where they got the upper hand, pushing him in between them before Isaac flung him away just like Scott had.
“Isaac, stop! Leave him alone!” He ignored you, his focus completely on Scott. It didn’t matter, Scott beat them down again and again, until they finally stayed down.
“Don’t you get it? He’s not doing this for you, he’s just adding to his own power, okay? It’s all about him. He’s makes you feel like he’s giving you some kind of gift, when all he’s done is turn you into a bunch of guard dogs!” Scott yelled, slinging them across the ice and back to Derek. They laid there in shock of what Scott had just done all by himself.
“It’s true. It is about power.” Derek started making his way towards Scott now, transforming, his eyes glowing that blood red and fangs growing. He slashed at Scott, punched, kicked, beaten down your best friend. You couldn’t believe your eyes, it was brutal, it made you shake out of fear for the boy. You had to do something but you didn’t know what. All you knew was that you were afraid, afraid of what might happen if you didn’t do something. You glanced at Isaac and Erica, still sitting on the floor their attention now switching from Derek to you. You could see it in Isaac’s eyes, he knew you were gonna do something.
“Y/N, No!”
You ran as fast as you could on the ice, reached for Derek’s hand before he could slash at Scott again but it was useless. He threw you like trash, away from them. You landed with a loud crash and a groan from pain. You heard your name being called from a few different sources but you couldn’t tell. Everything got fuzzy. Only it wasn’t from the throw it was like from before, with Lydia. Your senses were basically rendered useless, you couldn’t hear anything and everyone looked slightly blurry. You knew they were looking at you though, you knew they could see it.
Your eyes glowing.
Before Derek could notice you, before he could stop you, you picked your head up and that’s when your sense came back. Heighten, stronger and clearer than ever.
“Get away from him!”
You slammed your hands on the ice, causing it to ripple like it was water, it traveled towards Derek knocking him off his position on Scott’s throat. He fell to the floor and an energy pushed him into the ice by his throat, almost like someone was stepping on his now. The ice cracked underneath him but you didn’t care. You rushed to Scott putting his head in your lap.
“Scott are you okay?” He lightly nodded, coughing up some more blood. By now Derek had risen up, staring at you in shock. You shot him a glare, “Leave, or I’ll do it again. And this time, I won’t stop.” Derek had slowly backed away going to his two new betas, who were now staring at you. Erica try to tend to Derek but he just brushed her off, Isaac on the other hand, he kept staring at you even when Derek tried to guide him out. You couldn’t tell if he was concerned for you or scared of you. Boyd had gotten down from where he was sitting getting ready to join the others.
“Boyd, please don’t, we don’t want to see you get hurt,” you pleaded one last time.
“You don’t want to be like them,” Scott warned
“You’re right,” Boyd lifted his shirt, revealing his bite, “I want to be like you.”
~
You had gotten Scott back to the clinic where he was worrying about his wounds from Derek, “Why aren’t you healing?” You shrugged even though he was mainly talking to himself, you rounded the corner to see a guy on the table, slashed.
“It’s from an alpha,” Deaton said coming from the shadows, “I think maybe we better have that talk now.”

There was a tense air between (Y/N) and Derek as they reached her house. He helped her off the bike and kept his hand on her lower back as they walked to her front porch but did not say a single word. His stare was a million miles away, and she could tell his thoughts had been running rampant in his head.
“Are you okay, Derek?” the girl finally broke the silence as she slid her key into the door. “You feel weird. Like, distant.”
“I’m fine,” he said, his stoic façade still plastered on his face. “I just need to make sure you’re home safe before I get my pack.”
“They’re fine. They’re hiding up in my room.” She pulled out her phone from her pocket and showed him Isaac’s text confirming that they had locked themselves in her house. “But I need to know what you’re hiding right now because I know something’s up.”
“Everything’s fine,” he huffed. “Why are they here?”
“I thought they’d be safe here,” she responded. “Don’t change the topic, Derek. You know you can’t lie to me.”
“I just… we gotta stay away from each other for a while, okay? Believe me when I say, it’s for the best.”
The answer took (Y/N) aback. She stepped away from his touch, as though suddenly it burned her. His words had seemingly come out of nowhere. They were in a good spot, she thought. They weren’t exactly in a relationship, but they weren’t not in one either. They had been speaking consistently for the past couple of weeks, they had seen each other when they could, and they had kissed. God, did they kiss. “I-I-I don’t understand,” she stammered as she blinked away her confusion. “I thought we were good. I mean, I know our situation isn’t exactly ideal, but I didn’t think it was going bad.”
“It’s just not the time to deal with feelings, (Y/N),” he sighed. “I have to focus on how to get rid of the Kanima and why Scott would betray us. I simply don’t have the bandwidth to focus on you too.”
“Oh, I didn’t know I was such a distraction,” (Y/N) scoffed, putting another step of distance between them. “You know, it was only a few weeks ago that you were saying you wanted this to work. No matter how long it took or what hurdles we had to go through. You said I wouldn’t have to go through life alone, not while you were here. Was that all just bullshit?”
“It wasn’t… It isn’t…” He ran his hands across his face in frustration, letting out an infuriated groan. “With everything that’s going on, I can’t risk being close to you, (Y/N). The more time that passes with the Kanima here, the more hunters will arrive. Especially now that I have a target on my back, thanks to your cousin. Being with you only makes that target bigger, and it puts it on my pack too. I have to make the right decision for them.”
“So, everything I’ve done to help you guys out means nothing?” she cried, biting down the tears that threatened to spill. “I’ve stuck my neck out for you on more than one occasion. I think I’ve proven to be an asset to you and your pack when it comes to my family.”
“You have and I’m grateful,” he said. Derek took a beat before continuing. It seemed he knew the next words out of his mouth would drive a wedge between them that he wasn’t sure would ever be removed. “I just don’t know if one day you’ll turn on us like Allison has done to Scott, or even like Kate did to me.”
If there was anything he could say that would drive (Y/N) away, it was that. Her fears of one day becoming like her aunt still haunted her to that day. It was a quiet but haunting rumble in the pits of her mind, fed by her insecurities and her fears, and very much alive.
“A-are you serious?” (Y/N) wanted to appear confident and confrontational. But she couldn’t help the way her voice broke. “Do you really think I’d be capable of doing something like that?”
“I can’t be sure, (Y/N). I want to believe that you won’t and that you and your father are truly on our side, but I have to take precautions. It’s not just my life that’s at stake.”
(Y/N) didn’t know if his words stung more than the unchanging expression on his face. There was no care, no compassion. She wasn’t talking to Derek, her sour wolf. She was speaking to Derek, the alpha. “What brought this on, Derek?” she asked. “What made you change your mind all of a sudden?”
“It wasn’t anything specifically. It’s just… the situation we’re in is basically unheard of, and I need to make sure that I’m putting a hundred percent of my brain into resolving this,” he said. “And if Scott isn’t going to help, then I have to find a way to end this once and for all. I can’t be worrying about the hunters coming from your side too.”
Words died in the girl’s mouth as she tried to conceal the hurt that coursed through her veins. It was a betrayal like no other. “Is that really how you feel?” (Y/N) asked, her resolve quickly coming undone. “You once told me that you knew that I would never be like Kate. That there was no way I could be that heartless. Does that mean you lied? Have you always felt this way?”
And with determination like she had never seen from him, he said, “Yes.” By then, she couldn’t hold back the tears, but she wouldn’t let him see her hurt. She couldn’t keep the drops from falling, but she could keep her sobs inside. “(Y/N)…”
“Go,” she said sternly, facing her door and giving him her back.
“(Y/N), I…”
“I said go, Derek,” she restated, raising her voice. “You can call your pack after. But you need to get out of here right now.”
Before he could say another word, (Y/N) slipped into her house and locked the door behind her. Shuddering cries threatened to break through, so she clasped her fist into her mouth and bit down. She did not want him to hear her. He’d been able to shatter her heart with a few words, but he did not deserve to know her pain. Not anymore.
As the tears fell, she remembered the cuts on her face. Every time another drop fell, it sank into the open wound, mixing blood and salty water down her cheeks. The sting was enough to subside the pain in her chest, but not enough to make it go away. And all she wanted was for it to go away.
Suddenly, soft steps on her stairs forced her head to snap forward to see a witness to her despair. Erica wore a sympathetic smile on her face, something that surprised (Y/N) out of her tears. It had been the first time she had even held a kind gaze toward the girl, always throwing sarcastic comments or unnecessary jabs her way. But at that moment, she came to her as a friend.
“Let’s fix up that face,” she said. “Where’s the first aid kit?”
“Uh, um,” (Y/N) cleared her throat. “There’s one under the kitchen sink.”
“Let’s go.”
The blonde helped her up from the ground and followed her quietly into the kitchen. She didn’t throw snarky remarks her way or make fun of the way her face was most likely a disaster. All she did was remain silent and try to help.
Once the first aid bag was on the counter, Erica patted a stool to instruct the girl to sit. Something she very much obliged to before the werewolf set to work. She put on a pair of black gloves and set to clean the wound with cleansing wipes, clearing away any debris or tear that might have mixed with her blood.
“This is gonna sting a bit, okay?” Erica announced as she uncapped the liquid stitch bottle. “Do you need something to bite down on?”
“No,” (Y/N) smiled softly. “Go ahead.”
The girl winced softly as the liquid touched her skin, but it was quickly replaced with the comfort of Erica’s soft hands pinching the slash closed. She repeated the step two more times before cleaning the area once more and covering it with a gauze bandage. “There,” Erica said as she finished bandaging her arm as well. “The wound should breathe during the night to help with the healing. Try to keep it dry or without direct water contact for about five days, and you should be good.”
“Thanks,” she said. “You’re good at this.”
“I’ve had one too many falls not to be,” the girl chuckled as she put away the kit. “It’s actually the reason I’ve always wanted to become a doctor. I wanted to make sure no one else went through what I did.”
“Why can’t you?”
“At first it was because I was so behind in school, I’d never get the grades to get into a good school,” she shrugged. “Now, with the whole werewolf thing, I don’t think I could.”
“Why not? I think now it’ll be so much easier for you,” (Y/N) offered. “Now, you don’t have to deal with the seizures, and you can focus on your schoolwork. Later on, I’m sure any school would be begging to have you go there.”
“I don’t know,” the blonde sighed. “I guess, after seeing everything I have and going through what we have in such little time, I think med school seems stupid in the grand scheme of things. I would love to live a normal life, but I don’t think I was ever meant to. I mean, at first, it was epilepsy. Now, it’s the fact that I’m part wolf, part human, and I have yet to get that under control.”
Seeing Erica be vulnerable and sweet surprised (Y/N), and it was a welcome distraction to whatever it had been that had gone down with Derek. “You know this is going to end someday,” she tried to comfort her. “We’re gonna beat the Kanima, and the hunters will go back to their own lives. Life won’t always be like this.”
“How can you be so sure? Something tells me there’s always gonna be something in this town,” she chuckled dryly. “The only way to go back to normal is to leave.”
“Is that what you want? To leave Beacon Hills?”
“I mean, it’s a plan,” she shrugged as she sat beside (Y/N). “I didn’t think it would be like this. The constant looking over my shoulder, the fear that I’ll be caught, the fear that I’ll be killed. I wanted the strength, the power that came with being supernatural. But I didn’t really measure the danger that came with it. Unfortunately, not every hunter can be like you.”
“I think that’s the first time you’ve ever complimented me,” (Y/N) chuckled. “Don’t know how I feel about it.”
“Don’t get used to it,” the girl grinned. “But seriously, you have no reason to protect us like you have. I mean, apparently, even lovesick Allison turned on lover boy.”
“Yeah, grief makes you do unthinkable things,” she sighed. “Especially when you have a monster like Gerard whispering in your ear.”
“And he doesn’t whisper in yours?”
“God no. I don’t think he particularly likes my family. At least my dad and I.”
“Ooh, family drama?”
“None that I know the details of, but I know it has something to do with me and some woman from my dad’s past,” (Y/N) explained, remembering the not-so-hushed words from her parents. “Also, my dad sort of sides with the wolves rather than the hunters. He thinks their methods are too extreme and cause more harm than good. He told me he wants to change the group from the inside out, but it’s hard.”
“And you believe him?” Erica inquired, biting the skin from her fingers. (Y/N) could see she hadn’t noticed yet. It was something she did before turning, a way to calm her senses when everything seemed too much. “Do you really believe he’s on our side?”
“He helped me find Derek tonight, and he covered for me about the rave. I don’t think he would lie to me about that. My mom on the other hand…”
“Can’t stand us?”
“Yup.”
“Well, you can tell her the feeling is mutual.”
“Hey,” (Y/N) exclaimed with a smile. “That’s my mom you’re talking about.”
“No offense,” Erica laughed as she threw her arms up in surrender. “But seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever said this, but thank you, (Y/N). I’ve unnecessarily been a bitch to you, and you don’t deserve that. So, I’m sorry.”
“Am I really getting an apology from Erica Reyes? I think I might be dreaming.”
“Oh, come on,” she chuckled. “I’m trying to be serious here—vulnerable. I am grateful for what you’ve done for me, even when I was horrible to you. You didn’t have to.”
“Well, you got the bitch part down, I didn’t think I needed it, too,” (Y/N) grinned before she took Erica’s hand and smiled warmly. “But it means a lot that you apologized. Thank you. Maybe from here on out, we could be friends. I honestly need more in this town.”
“I think that would be great,” she beamed. “I’ve been needing a dose of estrogen after so many months surrounded by testosterone.”
As the girls laughed, footsteps came down the stairs and quickly joined them in the kitchen, followed by the pitter-patter of claws against the hardwood floor. “Well, look at these two fraternizing,” Isaac told Boyd. “Never thought I’d see the day.”
“I would be rude not to when it’s her house,” Boyd shrugged. “Which, again, thank you for letting us hide out here. We haven’t really received any other instruction from Derek.”
“Yeah, and I don’t think you will anytime soon.”
“What do you…?” Isaac’s words died in his throat as he noticed (Y/N)’s bandages and the smell of iron in the air. He was quick to rush to her side, inspecting her visible skin for any other wound. “What the hell happened?”
“Ah, just a small run-in with Jackson,” she shrugged as she knelt to pet Brody, scratching him on the spot behind his ears he loved so he wouldn’t worry about her. “I’ll be fine. I just don’t heal as fast as you guys do.”
“How serious was the cut?” Isaac asked Erica, knowing (Y/N) would only wave him off. “Was it deep? I knew I should have gone with you to the station.”
“It wasn’t deep enough to need stitches, Isaac. She’ll be fine.”
“Dude, calm down,” Boyd chuckled. “She’s tougher than she looks.”
“Thank you, Boyd,” she smiled toward the boy. “I really appreciate the vote of confidence. You should learn from him, Lahey.”
“Yeah, it’s all fun and games until you get seriously hurt,” he grumbled, crossing his arms across his chest. “I can’t believe I let you go there by yourself. I should have been there.”
“And risk getting caught by my grandfather? Absolutely not,” she reprimanded. “As a matter of fact, all of you need to lay low because while Jackson is still the Kanima, more hunters will keep flooding into town, and I don’t wanna risk any of you getting caught. If you need a place to stay, I think I can talk to my dad and help you guys out. Maybe tell my mom the basement flooded and keep you guys there?”
“Thanks, (Y/N),” Boyd smiled. “We’ll talk to Derek first. See what the next steps will be.”
“Yeah,” she scoffed lightly. “And if you can find out what the hell is going on with him in the meantime, I’d greatly appreciate it.”
The four of them spent the next hour in her kitchen, talking and laughing like normal teenagers until Erica and Boyd said they were too tired to still be awake and headed to (Y/N)’s room. But not before the girl turned and thanked Argent for giving her a night where she felt normal. After that, only Isaac and her were left downstairs.
They had moved into the living room, where (Y/N) rested her head on his lap, and Brody curled up right beside them. Henry had texted her that he and her mother would be staying over at Chris’ house and that he’d keep her posted on anything that would be going down.
“I don’t understand what happened, Isaac,” she sighed as she felt his hands running through her hair. “Everything was going great until just an hour ago. What made Derek change his mind?”
“Honestly, I wish I could tell you,” he said. “But Derek’s not one to really talk about what’s going on in his head. The only time he’s ever been nice to me is when you’re around. He’s quite a dick when you’re not around.”
“But he’s still your alpha.”
“It’s not like there are many options here,” he chuckled. “And I guess I feel a bit indebted to him. If it hadn’t been for the bite, I’m pretty sure I would have ended up in the hospital, or even worse…”
Isaac couldn’t bring himself to say the words, instead taking in a shuddering deep breath. (Y/N) could see his eyes getting cloudy with tears as fear overtook him. Even if that part of his life was buried, there was no way to repress the memories.
“I’m sorry you had to go through that, Isaac,” she responded quietly, taking his free hand in hers. “And I’m sorry you had to go through it alone. I wish I could have at least been your friend back then.”
“I think you came at the perfect time,” he smiled softly. “Just long enough to get my shy and adorable side and stay to see my resurgence into an amazing and confident werewolf teenager.”
“You know, some people would say cocky and self-absorbed.”
“Well, those people would be wrong,” he chuckled. “But you did come at the right time. Those last couple of months, you actually gave me hope. If we had spent more time together, I think I may have even refused the bite.”
“Would you have, really?” (Y/N) mused. “Would you have given it all up?”
“I think so,” Isaac shrugged. “I mean, people around us don’t seem disturbed by what’s going on in this town. All I would have to worry about is whether or not I could pass my classes, and well, social services I guess.”
“Not funny,” she reprimanded, slapping him softly on the chest. “But the supernatural does suit you.”
“It does, doesn’t it?”
“Oh, calm down, Lahey.”
“I’m just kidding, Argent,” the boy laughed. “As for Derek, all you have to do is give it time. He can be a moody one.”
“Something feels different this time, though,” she sighed. “I don’t know what it is, but something’s just off.”
The last thing Derek had wanted was to make her cry. Hearing her sobs through her door made his heart wrench in his chest, and all he could do was get as far away from her as he could. His legs took off in a soft run at first but quickly turned into a supernatural sprint that had his lungs aching for air. All he could do was run.
Soon enough, the scenery of houses and cars turned into trees and bushes. Leaves crunched under his feet, and branches snapped as he stepped on them. Even when a rock stood in his way and threatened to make him lose his balance, he simply kept running.
He wished (Y/N) knew that what he did had been for her own good. If she wasn’t by his side, there was no way she could be used as a bargaining chip. Especially not with Peter back. He didn’t trust his own life in the hands of his uncle; how could he entrust him with (Y/N)’s?
By the time he had reached his family’s house, his body ached all over. Frustration filled his veins, and his limbs ached with the need for violence. He let out an exasperating scream before his fist went through a wooden board. He didn’t know if he wanted to keep breaking down the house or just sit down and cry. As much as he wanted to be by (Y/N)’s side, he knew that the best thing for her would be for him to stay as far away as possible. He had lived long enough with loneliness, though none as hurtful as this one for a long time. (Y/N) would soon enough move on from him, and he’d be the one to carry the hurt. As long as Peter was in town and her family would punish her for her affiliations, he’d just have to stay away.

The Piece That Doesn't Fit
Derek Hale x Sarah McCall
Timeline: After the last episode of Teen Wolf: Season 2
Derek's POV-
Sarah sleeps in my arms peacefully. Idly stroking her arm, I look at the ceiling and then back at her head, which is lying on my chest. I wonder what she thinks when she looks at me. I wonder why she trusts me. I kiss her head, whatever the reason is, I'm grateful that she does.
Tumblr media
Gerard is dying, quite fast compared to cancer, according to what Chris said. He deserves it. I'm not big on forgiveness, and I haven't forgiven Allison either, but that's a story for another day. Everything else in the world can wait, I just want to be here with Sarah.
I have no one in my pack now, I realise. It's only Isaac, but he's more loyal to Scott. And I don't want to fight with Scott again, not after I've seen what it does to Sarah. Being torn between her brother and her boyfriend isn't the best place to be, and she used to be so frustrated and angry at everything.
Words flash into my mind for the hundredth time after the fight, words belonging to Gerard Argent. I'd rather never think of the bastard, but what he said feels like it's true.
"Scott, don't. You know that he's gonna kill me right after. He'll be an Alpha." I plead. Scott doesn't listen. He walks towards me determinedly, and Sarah yells, "Scott stop!" She tries to run towards us but the kanima throws Allison to the ground and grabs Sarah's throat instead.
Tumblr media
My own death doesn't scare me more than that monster's hand around Sarah's throat. She isn't giving up, though. My brave, strong woman. My heavenly fire, she isn't giving up even in the face of imminent death.
"That's true... But I think he already knows that, don't you, Scott?" Gerard says, smirking. "He knows that the ultimate prize is Allison. Do this small task for me, and they can be together."
Sarah looks at her brother with disbelief, her eyes slowly flood with tears. "Scott...don't." She chokes. But her brother doesn't stop. He walks towards me, and I've never imagined a day where I'm afraid of Scott. But today is that day.
"Scott if anything happens to Derek, I'll never forgive you!" Sarah shouts, tears streaming down her beautiful face.
I try to reach for her, but can't. Listening to my name from her mouth feels like a declaration of love, and the fact that she's willing to go against her own brother for me makes me feel more loved than I have ever been. But it also makes me feel shameful. She's going against her brother for me.
Scott gives her a pleading look before sinking his claws in my neck. I groan in pain as he hauls me up.
"How very touching," Gerard says, looking at Sarah with malice. "You are the only piece that doesn't fit, Derek. And, in case you haven't learned yet, there is just no competing with young love." He spits at me.
Scott forces me to bite Gerard's arm and drops me to the cold ground. But I never hit it because two soft yet strong arms wrap around me, cushioning my fall. I collapse in Sarah's arms, resting my head on her shoulder. Sarah holds me tightly and whispers, "Don't worry. I'm here for you."
She is. I wrap both arms around her, inhaling her scent. She is here for me. She shouldn't be. What have I ever done to deserve her?
That's the same thought in my head as I reel out of the memory and look at her again. She stirs as if woken by the gravity of thoughts. Holding me tighter, she doesn't have to even look at me before saying, "Can't sleep?"
I pretend to be asleep, but she says, "Don't pretend. I may not be a werewolf but I can detect when you're not asleep."
"Fine," I grumble, turning to my side so that I'm spooning her now. "I can't sleep. Happy?" I kiss her shoulder and inhale her scent of vanilla and jasmine.
"Of course, I'm not 'happy'." She says, turning around to look at me. "Tell me why you're awake. You're supposed to be asleep."
"I know." I sigh, "I was watching you sleep."
"Right. And that's not creepy at all."
I laugh. "You look beautiful when you sleep. Your mouth's slightly open, and you hold me close to yourself. Of course, I'd love to see that."
Sarah blushes. Even after we've been together for months, she still blushes every time I say something romantic to her. She pulls a straight face again, and says, "Hey! You can't distract me by being romantic. Tell me, what's keeping you awake?"
"Nothing," I say, shrugging. She doesn't believe me. "I'm not stupid, Der."
"It's nothing, Sarah." I say, "Go back to sleep."
"I will once you do." She says adamantly.
Tumblr media
Even when I don't want to, I turn my back on her, facing the other side. She hugs me from behind and says, "Tell me. What's bothering my Sourwolf?"
Stiles Fucking Stilinski. He gave me that nickname long ago and Sarah loved how mad I got because of it. So much so that even she calls me that.
I don't get mad at her when she calls me that, but still, it's obnoxious.
"Is it what Gerard said?" She asks, and my silence gives her the answer.
"Der, look at me." She says. I turn around and she kisses me. I kiss her back, pulling her on top of me. She breaks the kiss and lays her head on my chest again. I sigh contentedly.
"He was wrong when he said that," She murmurs, and I shake my head, "Was he? I think he was right. I don't fit among you guys, Sarah. I don't fit in Scott's perfect pack, not the traumatised, rude wolf, no."
Sarah doesn't say anything for a long time, and I almost think she has fallen asleep. But then she says, "Not yet."
I scoff. "You think's Scott gonna wanna want me as his ally? After we've been hating each other for months?"
"If there's anything my brother excels at, it's forgiveness." Sarah says slowly, "You may not be a part of Scott's pack, but that doesn't make you insignificant, Der."
I'm sure that she does not want to see me wallow in self-pity, but I can't help but say, "Gerard said otherwise."
"Since when do you take the old hog hag's words seriously?" She chides and I almost laugh. She's right, I shouldn't take Gerard seriously. But I cannot help it. I can't help but doubt if his words are true. Sarah would never let me believe it, but I do feel insignificant.
I turn around, and hug her. What would I do without her? When I came back to Beacon Hills, my sole purpose and focus was finding out who killed Laura, and leaving immediately after.
But then I saw two boys trudging around my house, one of them too noisy and the other wheezing from asthma. When the latter lost his inhaler, I had hoped that he wouldn't come back. I don't want anyone near my house.
But they did. And not just them this time, with them was a woman. Great, I had said to myself, I did not script in more guests. But then I saw her face, only from afar, but my breath was stolen out of my lungs. After a long time, I found myself smiling.
Tumblr media
Sarah tries not to fall asleep, and I kiss her. She kisses me back and gives me a goofy smile. But then her face turns serious again.
"Gerard did whatever damage he could." She says grimly, "He said what he wanted to. And Derek, there are going to be people in your life who'll say some pretty mean shit to you."
"And I should rip their throat out." I say nonchalantly and she rolls her eyes, "No. How many people would you kill?" She asks me, and doesn't wait for an answer, "You know what, I actually don't wanna know."
I chuckle and she smiles at me softly.
"My point is," She says, "People talk. One day about one person, and the next day about the other. You cannot silence everyone. You cannot control what you hear, but you can control what you listen to."
I blink. That was a very heavy statement.
"Don't listen to people who don't care about you." She shrugs, "Listen to those who actually care about you."
"Like who?" I tease, stroking her thigh.
"Oh, fuck you." She yawns, "I'm sleepy. Not tonight."
I laugh. As much as I would like to tear our clothes apart and bury myself inside her, she's right. Even I'm getting sleepy.
"And just because someone said something doesn't make it necessarily true." She says and kisses my cheek. "I know it's easy to talk about all of this and much more difficult to actually implement it, you have to try."
Her hair fan her face, and I stroke them away as I plant a kiss on her head. There she is. My paramour. Capable of understanding me.
I keep her hand on my heart, wishing that she'd be able to feel what I cannot say. Feel what runs through my veins, feel that every single beat of my heart calls her name.
She's right. As much as I still feel like an oddball, I feel different with Sarah. With her in my arms, I feel like I'm home. I feel that I fit in, in her company. In her arms. In her life.

Description: Y/N has caught the attention of Theo and he wants them to join his chimera pack.
Tumblr media
You knew that it was risky being a witch and being best friends with a bunch of werewolves but you took that risk and you had never regretted it. That was until a certain Theo Raeken rolled into town and decided to wade a war against the werewolves with his own pack of chimeras.
Ever since his first day in Beacon Hills Theo had taken a shine to you, much to your dismay. He thought you were the most amazing person he had ever met whereas you thought he was quite smarmy and up to no good. As the next few months passed, your suspicions of him only grew as his sneaky movements became more prominant. You and Stiles both thought the same thing about him and decided to tell the pack about your suspicions.
“There is no way he is up to something. He only turned up a few months ago. Just last week, he asked if he could join the pack. Does that sound like something a shifty person would do?” Scott looked between the two of you with questioning look.
“There’s just something about him, Scott. Something that isn’t right. I don’t know what it is, but I will find out.”
_________________________________
A few weeks later, Theo had cornered you in the school hallway and pulled you into a closet.
“What in the hell do you think you’re doing?!” You reached back and went to grab the door handle but Theo was quicker and locked the door. “I just want to talk.” You stood back and gestured around the closet. “This doesn’t look like ‘just talking’, Theo! This looks as if you’re trying to kidnap me or something!”
He held his hands up and gave a soft smile. “No it’s nothing like that, I promise. I know better than to try and get one over on you, Y/N.” You smiled at the last bit, your defensive facade slowly melting away.
“Well, I would feel better if you unlocked the door.” He chuckled and reached behind him, turning the lock until a click was heard. “Better?” You nodded. “Good, now, let’s talk. I want you to join my pack.”
Your demeanor toughened again as you realised what he wanted from you. “You want me to what?!” “Join my pack. I know it’ll be hard for you at first but I’m sure that it’ll work out in the long run.” You stepped back and shook your head.
“No, there is no way that I’m doing that! Fighting against my best friends with a nobody who’s just walked into town? You’ve got no chance. Now let me out before I force myself out.” Theo held his head down, defeated, as he stepped out of the way. You walked past and went to open the door when you felt a sting at the side of your neck.
You looked back sharply and widened your eyes as you seen Theo holding a syringe. Your vision began to falter as your balance wavered, falling to the floor. The last thing you seen was Theo standing over you with a smirk on his face.
____________________________________
You groaned as you began to stir, a pounding at the side of your head. “What happened?” You tried to touch your head but found that your hands were bound to a metal chair with cuffs. At first you struggled to get out of them, pulling with all your might but they didn’t budge. You then swapped tactics and tried to use your magic to get out but somehow, that seemed to hurt you.
Agonizing pain soared through your body as your magic tried to undo the cuffs. Tears streamed down your cheeks as the pain subsided. A low chuckle sounded from across the room, causing you to sit up straight. A bright light switched on as the door to the room opened, revealing a rather smarmy Theo leaning against the doorway.
“What’s the matter, Y/N? Can’t use your magic? Struggling to get out?” He walked towards you as you struggled once more to get out. “What have you done to me, Theo? Why does my magic hurt me?” He knelt down in front of you and tapped the cuffs. “These are specially made just for you. Whenever you use your magic against them, they push it back inside your body causing you unimaginable pain.”
You let out a low growl before kicking your leg out, causing Theo to fall to the floor. “You bitch!” He jumped up and stormed back over, landing a smack to your cheek, the force turning your head to the side.
“What did you expect me to do?! Say thank you for locking me up in this room because I wouldn’t join you and your pack? How do you think this is going to end Theo? You know that Scott and the rest of the pack are going to be coming for me and when they get here, they’re going to kick your ass. You’ve made a grave mistake coming after me, Theo. Just you wait.”
He narrowed his eyes at you before leaning back in right up to your face. “No one is going to find you out here, Y/N. We’re in the middle of nowhere. And even if they do, there’s an army of chimeras waiting for them. Ready to tear them to pieces. But all of this can be avoided if you just join my pack.”
You spat in his face. “Not a chance in hell.” He wiped the saliva from his face and grabbed the neck of your shirt, bringing you closer to his face. “You’re gonna regret that.” Theo’s fist swung back and hit you right in the face. Your cheek bone cracked as his fist connected, swelling up immediately. He shoved you back in the chair and walked back out of the room, leaving you in darkness once again.
_______________________________
A commotion outside of the door woke you from your sleep. Your cheek was throbbing and your wrists were beginning to chafe at your struggling. The light switched on and Theo stormed through the door, unlocking your cuffs and dragging you back out of the room. He attached another pair of cuffs to your wrists and tied a cloth around your mouth. “Lets go and see those friends of yours shall we?”
He pushed you down the corridor until you reached two large doors that looked as though they led to the entrance to the building. He kicked them open and shoved you in front, causing you to fall to your knees. You looked around and your eyes widened at the sight you seen before you.
Stiles and Derek were kneeling on the floor in front of you, a chimera standing behind them with their claws out, threatening to kill them if needs be. “Isn’t this what I told you would happen, Y/N? If you had just joined my pack when I first asked, this wouldn’t have happened. None of your friends would be in danger right now.”
Tears began to flow down your cheeks as you took a slow look at your friends, defeated. You locked eyes with Stiles who was giving you a small smile, trying to tell you it’ll be alright, but you knew that he was just as scared as you. However as you looked over at Stiles and Derek, you noticed that Scott was missing.  A sudden surge of hope ran through your body and you secretly hoped that Theo hadn’t noticed, until he motioned for two of your friends to be brought forward.
“Now, who shall we kill first Y/N? Your best friend, Stiles, or your surrogate brother, Derek?” They were both shoved at your feet and you could tell that Stiles was scared but Derek didn’t bat an eye. “I swear, Theo, when I get out of these, I’m going to rip your throat out.” Theo walked round you and knelt down to his level. “Are you so sure about that? Because it doesn’t look as if your in the situation to make threats like that.” He tapped his face before turning his attention to Stiles.
“Mr. Stiles Stilinski. The thorn in my side. I should have gotten rid of you when I had the chance.” Stiles narrowed his eyes at Theo. “Oh yeah? Why didn’t you?” Theo smirked and knelt down to his eye level. “Because I knew that I’d need you in my plan and it looks like I was right.” He stood back up and stood behind both of them.
“So, Y/N, who’s it going to be?” Before anything else could happen, a figure sped across the room and knocked Theo into the wall, knocking him off guard. “No-one, Theo.”
You smiled behind your gag as Scott stood in front of you, facing the other chimeras. Derek ripped off his bindings and attacked the chimera behind him. Soon enough, the whole room had erupted into a battle. Claws and bats flying everywhere. But in all the commotion, no one had noticed that Theo had stood back up and ran back over to you, holding his claws to your throat.
“Stop, right now or I’ll rip her throat out.” Stiles held his hands up and dropped his bat, leaving the chimera beside him on the floor. Scott and Derek, however, let out low growls and leaped towards Theo, catching him off guard. The keys to the cuffs dropped out of his pocket and Stiles ran over to grab them, uncuffing you.
He gently took the gag out of your mouth as you rubbed your wrists. “Are you alright, Y/N? Your cheek looks pretty bad.” You stood up, your hands turning a bright blue as your magic flowed through you once again. “I will be once this fucker is dealt with.” You walked towards Theo, who was being held down by Scott and Derek.
“All of this, Theo, because I wouldn’t join your stupid pack? You should have known that I would never betray my friends. They’re my family and nothing will ever make me stray from them, no matter how much pain I go through. Remember that for when you decide to come after one of us.” You blasted him with your magic, knocking him unconscious before walking away and out of the building.
You waited for everyone in the back of Stiles’s jeep, arms crossed over your chest. You replayed everything over in your head as your eyes welled up. If Scott hadn’t have been there and hid from everyone or if Theo had decided to act differently, the whole situation could have ended up much worse.
Derek clambered in the truck next to you as Scott and Stiles got in the front. Derek wrapped his arm around you and you were engulfed in his warm and safe embrace. You leaned on his chest and looked in front of you at the two boys, who smiled sadly at you. “Please don’t look at me like that, I’m alright, I promise. I just want you all to know that there was no way I was going to join his side. You all mean too much to me to go against you all.”
Stiles reached over and grabbed your hand, giving it a squeeze before turning back and starting the engine. Scott nodded his head and smiled wider as Derek kissed the top of your head in acknowledgement.
As the jeep rolled out onto the road, you closed your eyes and let the movement of the vehicle and the warmth of Derek lull you into much needed sleep.

Your vision was blurry, head pounding as you scrunched your eyes, making out someone standing in front of you, shining a light in your eyes.
Your hands were tied above your head, your arms were pinned to something cool and metal.
You fully opened your eyes, seeing Kate in front of you as you jumped slightly.
“Good of you to join us,” she said softly.
You tugged on your chains, your heart rate jumping as you looked around, seeing Derek chained up next to you.
It had been only two days since you last spoke to him, you weren't looking forward to seeing him.
You turned away from him, looking back at Kate, breathing heavily.
You didn't know what to say.
“You know they’re human, they don’t know anything!” Derek yelled.
“(Y/N) was your best friend, were they not? They’ve lived in Beacon Hills forever, known you forever. They know who the alpha is. One of you is going to speak,” you felt a shock throughout your body as you let out a small cry, while Derek tensed.
“You can save them by just telling me who the alpha is,” Kate teased.
You looked at Derek, who opened his mouth to speak before you shook your head no, stopping him.
“Wrong decision,” she shook her head.
You flinched as she neared you, letting out a shaky breath before she froze.
You heard a door opening before she smiled softly.
“I’ll be back,” she walked away from you as you let out a deep breath.
“I-I’m gonna get you out of here, okay?” you heard Derek's voice as you avoided looking at him.
“I promise you, you’ll be okay.”
The door opened once more, and this time you saw Kate and another girl walking into the room, the other girl looked frightened and confused, looking at Kate for answers.
“Just watch and learn, Allison.”
---
There were slight tears in your eyes while you sat, tied down on the chair. You stared blankly at the ground, trying to avoid Derek’s words.
He wouldn't stop talking whenever he had the chance. You even wanted Kate to come back, she was the only one who could get him to shut up.
“I’m going to make everything up to you, I promise,” you wiped your eyes, before tensing as you heard the door open, Derek going silent.
“Scott is the other Beta, isn’t he? It’s not Jackson,” you clenched your jaw.
How did she know?
Kate walked around the two of you, circling back to you.
“He is, isn't he?” you let out a shaky breath as she stood behind you, holding a knife to your collarbone.
You stayed silent before she pressed onto your neck while you shut your eyes tightly.
You're okay
You’re okay
It’s okay
“Stop!” Derek yelled.
“Yes, he is. Now stop,” Derek said.
That idiot
She released her grip on you, while you exhaled shakily.
“So happy you decided to cooperate,” you didn’t need to see her face to imagine her smirk.
It’s haunted you since you first met her.
You and Derek got in a fight about her. You could never forget that it was less than a week later when the Hale House caught fire.
“Why did you tell her?!” you exclaimed, waiting for Kate to leave.
“What do you mean-”
“You sold out Scott? He’s a child!” you yelled.
“She was hurting you, (Y/N). She already guessed most of it,” Derek said softly.
“I was fine,” you shook your head.
“(Y/N), you need to know I’m really sorry-”
“I heard you the first time, I heard you the last time,” you muttered.
“So then tell me what I can do to make this up to you,” Derek replied.
“You can finally leave me alone,” you spat.
You saw Derek tense slightly from the corner of your eye before you turned to look at him.
“When we get out of here, I want you to just leave me alone. Forever.”
“(Y/N)-”
“Please,” your eyes watered slightly.
“O-Okay, I promise,” he nodded softly.
You turned back, putting your hand on your wound before you winced.
Shit
You saw the blood on your fingers, closing your eyes.
It’ll be okay
It’ll be okay
---
You zoned in and out of consciousness, you made out a figure of a man standing in front of you, he put his hand on a dial.
You knew it was hooked up to Derek, you knew it would shock him.
You didn't have enough energy to call out.
What just happened?
Your ears were ringing as the man fell unconscious. Scott stood in front of you, rushing to Derek.
We’re saved
You could feel blood dripping from your wounds while Scott helped Derek take off his chains.
Their speech was muffled as Derek ran to you, putting his hands on your shoulders.
“(Y/N)? H-Hey, can you hear me? (Y/N)?” he took the chains off of you as your body shook.
He wrapped his arms around you, helping you up.
You groaned softly as he took a deep breath.
“You’re in a lot of pain,” he said.
“Let's get out of here.”
You tried to keep your eyes open, everything was moving too fast for you to keep up.
The three of you were outside, you could feel the cold air on your skin.
“Something’s wrong,” you said softly.
Derek paused, before shaking his head.
“Get down!” you groaned as he pushed you down, before you gasped, seeing an arrow fly into his stomach.
“Derek,” you cried out.
You tried to crawl towards him, before feeling someone pull you back.
“Kate,” you gasped softly.
“You know, I never got to thank you,” she lifted you harshly.
“Keeping me out of the police’s radar,” she said softly.
“Let go of me,” you tried to push her away as she shook her head.
“You got my friends arrested, they’re still rotting away in a jail cell,” her grip on your arm tightened as you tried to pull away from her.
“You burned their family,” you clenched your jaw.
She pressed on your wounds as you winced, scrunching your eyes shut in pain.
You cried out in pain softly before you heard the sound of her gun cocking.
“No-” you felt the bullet go through your leg as you collapsed onto the floor.
She tried to hold you, before getting pushed aside.
Peter?
You saw the alpha grab Kate, running into the Hale House.
Everything was moving too fast for you to keep up, your head was spinning, hey everything moved slowly. You saw a bright light as you scrunched your eyes, seeing Peter’s face flash in front of you.
You remembered seeing the same look on him after the fire, his entire body was scorched.
“Derek-” your voice broke as you tried to pull yourself to Peter, seeing Derek’s claws in the air.
“Don’t-” your voice was barely above a whisper as sharp tears filled your eyes, watching Peter’s body collapse on the floor.
No
He can't be
You pulled yourself to Peter’s body, pulling him into your arms.
More and more tears fell from your face, his body was limp, there was no heartbeat.
You wrapped your arms around him tightly, sobbing quietly.
“I got you some water,” your face was turned away from Derek’s, you kept your eyes on the wall beside you.
“How do you feel?” you couldn't bring yourself to yell at him, you were tired.
“Have you taken your meds yet? They’re right here,” he placed a smaller cup next to the cup of water.
“I’m the alpha now,” flashes of Peter’s body came to your mind as you closed your eyes, wincing as a tear slipped down.
“I didn't mean to upset you-”
“Please just leave,” your voice broke slightly.
“(Y/N), I need to… all these things-”
“Just leave, Derek. Please.”
There was a moment of silence as you wiped your tears away.
“I’m not leaving you again, I’m sorry,” you shook his head.
You let out a shaky breath, wiping your face before slowly laying back in the hospital bed.
You wanted it all to drift away, you wish you could forget all about the events from the past weeks. You wanted to forget about the Hales completely, forget about meeting Derek, forget about Peter dying, but you knew you couldn't. At the end of the day, you would be dead without them, if you still lived at home.
This isn't fair
You closed your eyes, letting a tear slip down. You couldn't sleep, but you couldn't stand to see Derek any longer. You unshelled deeply, burying yourself under the blanket while Derek took a seat next to your bed, watching over you.

all mine — derek hale x reader
Tumblr media
☄. *. ⋆
content warnings and genre: swearing, alcohol consumption, p in v sex, vampire!reader, rivalry trope, creampie, sadism, requested fic!!
˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚
synopsis: he needs recruits for his pack, you need recruits for a pack of your own. the town is big enough for only one supernatural phenomenon, but you refuse to go down without a fight.
✧.*
the night air was thick with tension as you prowled through the dimly lit streets of beacon hills. moonlight spilled onto the asphalt, casting long shadows that danced around you. you were far from the usual supernatural resident of this town. you had no pack, no allegiances, and no high-and-mighty purpose. your existence was fueled by something simpler, more primal—you relished the act of feeding on humans.
stiles and scott, your two unlikely friends, often warned you about the dangers lurking in the supernatural world, and tonight had proven their point. they were your allies in this strange town, and while you didn't exactly need their protection, you enjoyed their company. the trio had faced numerous challenges together, but tonight, you were in the spotlight. derek hale, the brooding alpha werewolf, had been pursuing you relentlessly. he saw you as a potential recruit for his pack, a means to strengthen his power. however, you had no intention of bowing to his authority or becoming a pawn in his game.
tonight, the confrontation reached its climax in a desolate alleyway. derek, muscles rippling beneath his taut skin, blocked your path. the full moon accentuated his fierce demeanor, his eyes gleaming with a predatory glint as he growled, “join my pack, or face the consequences.” you sneered, your lips curving into a wicked smile. your voice dripped with the an almost seductive arrogance as you purred, “consequences? darling, you really don't know who you're dealing with, do you?”
his nostrils flared, and he lunged at you, his claws extended. in the blink of an eye, you moved, a blur of motion, easily sidestepping his attack. his fist struck the brick wall with a resounding thud, creating a shower of debris. the alpha stumbled backward, wincing in pain.
with a self-satisfied smirk, you approached him, your eyes gleaming with a mischievous glint. “derek, darling, let me make something clear. i'm not joining your pack. in fact, i'm here for recruits of my own. i have no noble agenda like yours—i simply have the need to feed.”
derek's rage and frustration were evident, but he couldn't move, couldn't speak. you had compelled him, and he was left powerless to resist. as he helplessly watched you, his hatred slowly morphed into something entirely different—a fascination that burned brighter with each passing moment.
your smile widened, a predatory glint in your eyes. “so, derek, are you curious yet? i have a feeling you and i could have a lot of fun together.”
and in that alleyway, under the watchful gaze of the moon, an unexpected connection began to take root—an alliance fueled by mutual curiosity, defiance, and the allure of the supernatural world that surrounded them.
the tension between you and derek lingered in the air, palpable and charged. he remained on the ground, pinned not by physical force but by your compelling presence. you exuded an aura of enigmatic allure, a dangerous beauty that drew him in like a moth to a flame.
derek's anger, once fierce and unyielding, had transformed into an intricate web of conflicting emotions. he found himself captivated by your honesty, or perhaps it was the brazen way you embraced your darkness that intrigued him. it was a quality he rarely encountered in the supernatural world—a ruthless pragmatism that echoed his own.
his breaths came in shallow, uneven gasps as your words slithered through his mind. he could feel the delicate tendrils of your compulsion wrapping around his thoughts, and he was powerless to resist. there was a raw honesty to your confession, an unapologetic embrace of your true nature that struck a chord within him. “you—you're different," he stammered, struggling to find his voice. "most vampires i've encountered are colder, more ruthless.”
your laughter, like the tinkling of glass against glass, filled the alley. “i assure you, i can be just as ruthless when necessary. but what sets me apart is my honesty. i don't pretend to be something i'm not. i revel in the darkness that courses through my veins.”
the moonlight bathed you in an ethereal glow, casting a halo of radiance around your form. it was a stark contrast to the shadows that clung to derek, a constant reminder of the beast that resided within him. serek's eyes never wavered from yours, and in that moment, he realized that he was drawn to you in a way he couldn't fully comprehend. it was a dangerous attraction, one that defied logic and reason. he knew that aligning himself with you could lead to consequences he couldn't yet foresee, but he was willing to explore this uncharted territory.
with great effort, he pushed himself to his feet, his movements cautious and deliberate. “i won't join your pack,” he said, his tone resolute. “but i won't stand in your way either.”
and so, in that alleyway bathed in moonlight, a fragile truce was born. two supernatural beings, bound by their dark desires and their defiance of the norms of their respective worlds, began a dance of intrigue and temptation. the world of beacon hills had just become a little more complicated, and derek hale found himself entangled in a web of shadows, drawn by the enigmatic allure of the vampire who refused to conform to the rules of their supernatural existence.
in the days that followed that fateful night in the alley, derek found himself unable to shake the allure of your presence. he watched from the shadows as you moved through beacon hills, a graceful and deadly predator in your own right. it was a stark contrast to his own pack, where strength and dominance were measured in more traditional ways.
he observed you with a mixture of fascination and trepidation, like a moth hovering on the edge of a flame. there was a certain elegance to your brutality, a refinement in the way you dispatched your victims. it was as if you took pleasure not only in the act of feeding but also in the artistry of it all.
one evening, he watched you from a distance as you entered a dimly lit bar, the neon sign flickering above the entrance. you sat alone at the bar, a glass of crimson liquid in hand. it was a curious sight—the vampire who reveled in the darkness, seeking solace in the anonymity of a human establishment. derek couldn't help but wonder what thoughts swirled within your enigmatic mind as you sipped your drink.
as the night wore on, he approached the bar, taking a seat a few stools away from you. you acknowledged his presence with a sidelong glance, a faint smile playing at the corners of your lips. the air between you crackled with unspoken tension, a palpable awareness of the connection that was slowly forming.
“you seem to have a fascination with me, derek,” you purred, your voice as smooth as silk. “or is it curiosity?” he didn't respond immediately, choosing instead to study you with those intense, cobalt eyes. “maybe it's a bit of both,” he admitted finally. “you're unlike anyone I've ever met.”
your laughter was low and sultry, sending shivers down his spine. “that's because i refuse to be confined by the rules of our kind. i embrace my nature without apology, and that terrifies some.” derek nodded in understanding. he knew all too well the weight of expectations and the burden of legacy that came with being an alpha. but here, in the presence of a vampire who was unapologetically herself, he felt a sense of liberation, a flicker of something he had long buried beneath layers of responsibility.
days turned into weeks, and your encounters with derek became more frequent. he found himself drawn to your boarding house, a place that exuded both elegance and darkness. the scent of bourbon hung in the air as you sat in solitude, contemplating the world beyond the shadows.
one evening, he joined you on the porch, the creak of the wooden floor beneath his boots breaking the silence. he held out a bottle of bourbon, a silent offering. you accepted it with a nod of appreciation, pouring a generous amount into your glass.
“sometimes,” you began, your voice soft and reflective, “i wonder if it's all worth it. this existence, the darkness that consumes us. but then, i take a sip of this,” you raised your glass, the amber liquid catching the moonlight, “and i remember why i embrace it.” derek studied you, his gaze searching for answers to questions he couldn't quite articulate. “we all have our demons,” he said finally. “our own reasons for living in the shadows.”
a knowing smile tugged at the corners of your lips. “that we do, derek. and perhaps, in each other, we've found a kindred spirit—one who understands the allure of the darkness and the beauty that can be found within it.”
and so, in the quiet moments shared on that moonlit porch, derek hale and the vampire with the seductive allure formed a bond that transcended the boundaries of their supernatural worlds. it was a connection forged in the fires of curiosity and defiance, a fragile thread that held the promise of something deeper, something neither of them had anticipated.
a few weeks into your growing connection with derek, you decided to make a memorable entrance at the local bar. you had a reputation for leaving a lasting impression, and this night would be no exception. the bar was buzzing with activity when you walked in, the dim lighting casting a seductive haze over the patrons. a tray of martinis passed by, and with a swift, graceful movement, you snatched one from it, the crystal glass glistening in your hand. all eyes turned toward you as you made your way through the crowd, exuding an air of effortless confidence.
stiles, always the first to dive headfirst into any opportunity, was the first to approach you. he leaned in intimately from behind, his breath warm against your ear as he whispered, “fancy a game of pool?” you turned to meet his gaze, a wicked gleam in your eyes. “why not?” you replied with a playful smile.
stiles's hand found its way to your waist, his touch possessive as he guided you toward the pool table. as you bent over to line up your shot, he leaned in even closer, his chest pressing against your back. the scent of his arousal hung in the air, and you couldn't help but chuckle at his audacity.
meanwhile, derek watched from a distance, his jaw clenched with a mixture of frustration and jealousy. he could smell Stiles's arousal, and it gnawed at him, igniting a fierce possessiveness deep within him. unable to contain his emotions any longer, he strode forward, his movements predatory. he reached out, firmly snatching your wrist and pulling you away from the pool table and stiles's grasp. with an apologetic glance at stiles, you allowed derek to guide you through the crowded bar and out into a nearby alleyway.
the cold night air hit you both as you stood in the dimly lit alley, the sounds of the bar fading into the background. derek's eyes bore into yours, his voice low and demanding. “you don't belong to anyone, especially not him.” you met his intensity with a challenging gaze of your own. “i don't belong to anyone, derek. i told you, i make my own choices.”
his grip on your wrist tightened, his anger and frustration evident. “i won't let him touch what's mine.” the possessiveness in derek's voice sent a shiver down your spine, and a dangerous smile curled your lips. “oh, der, i'm not anyone's to claim. but perhaps,” you leaned in closer, your lips brushing against his ear, “you can convince me otherwise.”
in the alleyway, amid the tension and desire that crackled in the air, a new layer of complexity was added to your evolving connection with derek. the dynamics within the beacon hills supernatural circle had shifted, and as the night continued, the flames of intrigue and temptation burned brighter than ever.
you liked the way his breath felt on your neck. warm, but still somehow able to raise goosebumps across the surface. it was the same way his touch ignited fire, yet left coldness in its wake. he made you dizzy with his attention to detail, the way he'd leave your head spinning and vision blurry all because he knew exactly what buttons to press and when to press them. he was rough, and yet careful, like every move was calculated in an effort not to cause you unnecessary pain, and he never left any unintentional bruises. he made you feel intoxicated by the taste of his tongue—sometimes, his spearmint toothpaste and sometimes, you. he was god-like, when he had you like that, and you knew he liked the power trip—to feel superior in this one part of his life he could control.
he pressed his lips against yours, stubble prodding at your soft cheeks as his lips melted against yours. it started off slow and sensual, but only for a splot second. his right hand grabbed your wrists, pinning them above your head as he pushed you into the wall. you struggled against his touch, but against the lust that fueled his every move, you were unable to pull your wrists out of his grip.
“you're not going anywhere,” he purred against your ear. you struggled some more, but for the first time in forever, you gave up. you gave up and succumbed to him. “just like that, that's good.” you stopped resisting, finally melting into his touch completely. he smiled against the crook of your neck, stubble littering goosebumps against his skin as he peppered kisses against your neck. you bit back a moan when the kissing turned into sucking, his teeth pulling on your soft skin, popping vessels and leaving bruises that threatened to stay for a while.
you felt weak under his touch, the hairs on your neck standing up as you felt the straps of your tank top slide down your arms. derek's rough, veiny fingers hooked each strap as he pulled them down, revealing your lacy bra as you slipped out of the top. he couldn't help but grunt at the sight of your tits bursting out of your bra, his hands involuntarily rushing to your boobs. he could only toy with them in awe, your moans bringing him pleasure. never had you been able to imagine yourself so powerless, especially not in his presence.
“what's the matter, princess?” he practically taunted, his voice thick with lust as he licked the outline of one of your breasts, the tip of his tongue tracing your nipple before engulfing it whole. “cat got your tongue?” you couldn't help but tug at his locks of black hair, a gasp passing your lips despite your best efforts to bite back your moans.
“i've had better, hale,” you retorted, a small smirk painting your lips as his piercing gaze shot upwards, meeting yours. he was all but pleased with your answer, and he proved that by tugging at your nipple with his teeth, provoking a sensation that was flooded with pain and pleasure. it was his turn to smirk.
he had you crying in a matter of seconda. he had his palm splayed over your mouth, your cute little cries muffled while he bullied his thick cock into your pussy. your nails scraped at his back, marking his broad muscles with your desperation. he was so big and mean—didn't let you move, didn't let you speak, whispering in your ear, telling you to take it. to take what's yours and be his good little bitch. he bit your neck, running his teeth along your skin, telling you all you’re good for is warming his cock. when he finally lost himself in the feeling of your fleshy cunt squeezing around his dick, he told you to pick a number. “six,” you barely managed a whisper. he forced you to count all his hard strokes in your cunt until tears started to spill onto the slope of your cheeks, until you were gritting your teeth at how deep he was fucking you, until you were finally screaming as he came, spilling his white sticky cum into the used pocket of your pussy.
“you okay?” he asked, his voice soft and low, little strands of hair clinging to his forehead while he stared at the way his cum spilled out your pussy, dripping lewdly into your soft, moist folds. you nodded weakly, gasping as he collected the cum out of your pussy onto his finger, licking the sticky white liquid with a sadistic smile.
he knew that if you were still conscious, he must not have gone hard enough.

Loves Antidote - Derek Hale x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: You were affected more than the others in the crypt during the events of ‘Weaponised’
Words: 1.2k
Warnings: None
Y/N’s POV
I can hear Scott moving after Kira tells him what Stiles’ muffled voice yells. He’s reaching for the jar and moments later there’s a crash, I’m gasping for air, feeling like I can breathe finally. My vision is returning and my muscles are finally reacting to me but it’s slower than the others who are already up and on their feet, Malia by my side as she has to pull me to my feet while Scott gets the door open.
I’m clinging to her, my legs struggling to move and Stiles is suddenly on my other side, the pair of them helping me regain the strength to stumble forwards with my weight being held by them. They’re leading me down the empty hallways of the high school, towards the exit where I can hear myriads of people talking, yelling and preparing for our exit. I know dad’s gonna be out there, Stiles knows he is too, as he’s the sheriff but I’m resisting as I don’t want him to see me like this. He has enough on his plate.
“Y/N, please, you need help.” Stiles is urging, voice filled with concern. His grip around my ribs tightening, determination shining through his wide and worried eyes as I lull my head in his direction. I can hear Scott and Kira trying to find the others, checking on teachers and students alike while Stiles and Malia want to get me to Melissa who I can hear bustling about outside. I can hear dad too and there’s another voice. It sends my heart pounding and Malia is sending me a concerned look as she can hear how fast my heart is beating.
I try to push the pain aside and focus on that voice, knowing he’s just outside. I want to get to him before I even think about Melissa and getting help. I need him. Together, the three of us stagger through the double doors, the taste of freedom so sweet and the sun temporarily blinds me but I can smell him. Three voices call my name: Dad, Melissa and him. The strange mixture of musk, something slightly spicy like oranges and vanilla fills my senses as my eyes try to adjust to the blinding brightness. My knees are giving in and I’m falling until the pair get a better grip on me.
The sound of pounding feet feel like gunshots in my head but the scent of him coming closer and closer spurs me on, giving me the strength to push Stiles and Malia away. My already aching body collides with solid and strong arms are wrapping around me, the smell of him is almost overwhelming it’s so intoxicating. The cool and smooth leather of his jacket against my skin is a stark contrast to the feverish heat pulsating through my body.
“Derek.” My voice cracks and sounds raw even to my own ears, Derek’s arms tightening protectively around me. The emotions radiating from him prickle my eyes and before I know it I’m burying my face in his shirt, trying to staunch the onslaught of tears.
“Shhhh, it’s okay sweetheart,” Derek’s voice soothes, a gentle balm to my shattered nerves, his words washing over me like a healing salve. His arms providing a haven of safety and comfort as I cling to him like a lifeline, seeking solace in his unwavering presence. His lips pressing against my temple calms me even more, a tender kiss that ignites a flicker of hope within me. I can feel the softness of his touch, the warmth of his breath against my skin, and it’s as if the world narrows down to this single point of connection.
As his hand moves in slow, gentle strokes, shooting down my hair, a sense of tranquility washes over me. It’s as if he’s leaving a sense of calm back into the frayed edges of my being, the tremors in my legs begin to subside and the fog surrounding my mind begins to dissipate. The ache and pain is still there and I still feel weak, like I’m going to collapse if Derek lets me go but I know he won’t, especially when the hand that was on my hair moves to cup my jaw, pad of his thumb gliding across my cheekbone gently, a surge of warmth and reassurance following it.
I’m pushing myself away enough to meet those kaleidoscope eyes, seeing the depth of his concern and care reflected in them. It’s a silent understanding that passes between us, a recognition of the need for me to heal and the inability for my body to do it. And as his thumb continues its soothing motion, I feel that spark of hope ignited within me grow into a flame or two.
Then, as if guided by an unspoken agreement, Derek is drawing me up into a kiss - a gentle and tender meeting of our lips. It’s a moment that transcends words, the kiss a conduit for my healing and I feel it. With each press of our lips, I can feel the ache slowly fading and my legs stand steadier, the weariness that had taken over my body replaced by something else. It’s sweet on my tongue as Derek’s arm around my waist pulls me closer and the one of my cheek tilts my head to deepen the kiss more.
Our breaths mingle, a symphony of shared exhales that carry the weight of something new and something good. It’s in the event meeting of our mouths that I find solace, a sanctuary where healing takes root and blooms. The sensation of his lips moving against mine is electrifying and breathtaking all at once.
Someone is clearing their throat, startling me and pulling me away from Derek, my eyes flickering open to find Dad standing there, a mixture of sternness and amusement playing across his features. While his words carry a reprimand, there’s a twinkle in his eyes that betrays his true feelings. The corners of my lips curling into a sheepish smile, and Derek’s arm remains securely around my waist.
“Okay, okay, I think that’s enough,” Dad asserts, his voice firm but indeed with an undertone of lightheartedness, “Those healing vein things have gone, none of that in front of me thank you.”
I can’t help but let out a small chuckle, feeling a mix of embarrassment and affection for Dad’s protectiveness. With a gentle squeeze of Derek’s hand, I start to disentangle myself from his embrace, though the warmth of his touch still lingers on my skin. Derek lets out a growl deep in his throat when Stiles moves towards me, his cheeks turning a brilliant shade of red as he clears his throat and squeaks out an embarrassed, “Sorry.”
“Derek,” Dad turns his attention to the very embarrassed werewolf, “I want you to take her home and make sure she is okay. You do not leave her side until either Jordan or I come home, I want nothing like this to happen again.”
“Yes Sir.”
“Good lad.”

The unknown son (Second Version)
Character: Derek hale x male reader, Derek Hale’s son
Universe: Teen Wolf
Warnings: Angst, fluff
Authors note: As promised here is the second version of the request from @arekmaximoff
The heavy bags you had to carry, full of groceries, nearly broke your back. To buy so many things, alone, for an entire pack of wolves? You should really think about getting more out of it from Derek, before you actually broke something, just to make him happy.
Even though the way wasn’t that far, from your car to the front door, the stupid apartment complex did not have an elevator. This means, that you had to walk up twelve sets of stairs, to get to your shared apartment.
Alone thinking about the many stairs, you already did not have any strength left. Why Derek wanted you to buy groceries every time he had a pack meeting at your shared apartment, was something worth investigating. But at the moment, you were only happy, that he wanted you there on a normal weekend day. Instead of Sunday evening, because normally you would be at a friend's house or family's house when he had pack meetings at the weekend.
You never thought anything of it. Why should you? He loved you and you loved him. Trust is very important and you never had the feeling that there was something off. He only wanted some time for himself, which he also gave to you, when you needed it.
As always nothing felt out of the ordinary, not even walking up the stairs. That was until you came to the heavy metal door that was protecting the apartment from the outside.
At that point, you were out of breath, sweaty from carrying all the groceries upstairs, without any help. You did not want to know how heavy it was, but enough for you to let them fall down in front of the door. Just so you could fish out the keys to open the door.
But before you could anything, a little yelp could be heard, as you let fall down the bags in front of the door. You almost got a heart attack, as you saw a little boy in a corner seemingly waiting on someone. The only problem was, your apartment was the only one at the moment, where anyone lived.
„Hello?“, you asked him with a small, frightened voice. To your surprise, he stood up, with a backpack on his back. He immediately came to you, sniffing at you. At this point, you were already aware that he was a werewolf.
„You smell like my dad!“, he told you with absolute glee in his eyes. He hugged your waist. But you could only stay there in stunned silence. Ask yourself what the heck was happening.
„Who is your father, little man?“ You kneeled beside him holding him at arm's length, fearing that this was some sick set up by someone. But as you looked closer at the little boy, you could see an eerie resemblance to your boyfriend.
The small boy looked at you with a strange look, his head crooked to the side. „Derek Hale.“
For a moment, you thought that you misheard his father's name, but as it sunk in, you couldn’t believe it. Why hadn’t he told you, that he had a son? He was at least eight, maybe a bit older.
„Okay, come in, we wait for him!“, you tried to cheerfully tell the little guy. Even with a bright smile, but you could feel that he knew that you were confused.
Still, he followed you aside, threw his backpack to the coats, and ran up to the couch, on which he jumped on it like he owned the place.
You on the other hand put away the groceries, which you carried in one after another, because the strength to do it all at once, was gone at that point in time. Head filled with questions and insecurities.
Derek would have to answer a lot of questions when he comes back. Some of them, would maybe even dictate your stance in your relationship. You already talked about marriage but now?
It was three hours after your encounter with your boyfriend's son you did not know anything about. He was quite mature for his age. His mother wasn’t the best. He even told you, that he would like to live with Derek full-time. Because at his mother’s house, he always was alone.
The entire situation made you feel sick. But you couldn't show it to the little boy, he had nothing to do with it and apparently, his life already wasn’t the best.
Not even a second, after Derek opened the door, his son already jumped down from his chair and ran up to him. „Daddy!“, he screamed loudly, hugging his dad.
„I thought you would not come this weekend,“ you could hear him chuckle lowly. Not even registering that you were there too. Just sitting in the kitchen drinking your coffee, waiting until he finally would see you.
But he was way too preoccupied with his son. At least until he realized that his son was already in the apartment, and as it looked like feed as well.
„Who let you in, little man?“, he asked his son, a bit uneasy. You already knew that he was looking around paranoid, as he always did when he thinks that someone dangerous is after him again.
„The nice guy! The one smelling just like you daddy!“, he exclaimed happily, jumping out of his father's arm and pulling him with him, into the kitchen, where he pointed at you.
A smile plastered on your face. „Nice to see you… Derek. Your son and I had a lovely conversation.“ Another sip of your coffee, without breaking eye contact with the man, almost broke his fucking mind.
„I-I can explain, Raul, would you please go to your room, so the grown-ups could talk?“ Without any complaints, he grabbed his backpack, hugged you, which you this time even reciprocated, and left upstairs.
Derek immediately took a defensive stance. „I can explain,“ he told you again. But nothing else came out of his mouth, after that. Which let you roll your eyes.
Softly you set down your mug, just to stand up from your chair and walk over to Derek. Who was slumped in a bit, that you found out that way.
„So he is the reason, why you did not want me here, on the weekends? Were there even pack meetings?“
„Yes, of course!“, he instantly answered you. But he did not notice that your face fell.
„So you say, that our pack knew before me? How long? I mean I wasn’t ever invited to any meeting if it wasn’t on workdays.“
He did not answer, which was enough answer for you. Taking the few things you had gotten out of your pockets, you just walked away, to the front metal door, to leave the apartment as usual.
But Derek stopped you, his grip hard, almost as if it was out of iron. Pleading eyes, asking you silently to stay.
„Have fun with your pack. Of which I’m apparently not a part of, despite all my efforts. And I’m done being your slave. You can cook yourself. Or does the pack thinks that you did all of it on your own? The man that can’t even cook noodles? From now on you can clean yourself too and pleasure yourself alone if you want. Because as it looks from my perspective, there is no relationship.“
Your anger sipped out of every fiber of your being. Never before were you this pissed off. You could’ve understood, that he did not want you to meet him, in the first year, maybe the second too. For him to decide if you were the one or not. But three years and living together for one. Him not even mentioning that he has a son? That was not something you wanted to deal with.
When did he want you to tell you? When he was at your wedding and you didn't know who this child was?
Out of sheer shock, he let go of you, which you took as the opportunity to leave. Running down the stairs, back to your car on the direct way to your little brother's apartment. Where you crashed and ate with him his entire ice cream reserves. Which you filled up the next day again.
An entire week had gone by. Derek had tried calling you testing and even visiting your family’s home, where he promptly got his ass chewed off by your pissed-off mother after she learned why you had left him.
Finally, he heard your side and felt even worse than before. As he should. Even different pack members tried to call you. Which you blocked off instantly.
If it would've been for you, there could’ve been a way, that you never had to see Derek again. Because you studied from home, because of your mental health you couldn't visit the last year of medical school at the university. It was easy for you, but the entire situation stressed you so much out, that you had a panic attack, while still in class.
You even had to be hospitalized just to calm yourself down. Of course, Derek heard of it and came to see you, with his son at his side. Which immediately jumped onto your bed, cuddling you.
Not knowing what was happening, you just let it slide. It felt good to be wanted and loved. And you seemed to have made a great first impression on the little guy.
„Your mother had chewed me out,“ Derek told you, quietly. „She almost did not want me to come to see you, but Raul has his way with people and could persuade her.“
To be honest, you could understand your mother. He had won your heart the day you had met him. He was so much more open than his father ever was. Friendly and easygoing.
„And Raul was pissed off at me too after I told him that it is possible, that you wouldn’t come back to me. He called me stupid and did not even talk to me for days after he got to know, that you weren’t aware of him, because I had told him everything about you.“
„Someone needed to get the brain and decency,“ you mumbled, as you stroked the boy’s head. Which strangely calmed you down enough to speak again.
Derek seemed offended but also realized that he had deserved it. „Would you consider coming back?“, he nervously asked instead of being angry at you.
„Under the condition, that you leave every weekend the apartment. Friday morning you are out and you come back Sunday evening, just as you wanted from me. Either your son can come with you or stay with me. His choice.“
Raul did not even need to say a thing, for both of you to know, that he would stay at the apartment with you. „Okay, deal.“
„That wasn’t everything, but some topics, shouldn’t be discussed in front of a child.“
Derek’s cheeks flamed up, he hates to talk about your intimate life. Because of some reason, he felt inadequate, but you didn’t care. He wanted to make this right again and you will milk that bitch, until you are completely satisfied with the outcome.
At least everyone now knows, what an idiot Derek is. But even though he is an idiot, he is your idiot and his child maybe one day, could be your son too. Which was only a win-and-win situation.

Chapter 10
(Y/N) could not help the feeling that took over her. It was a giddy excitement that filled her as she rode back home. She couldn’t quite place it, only knowing what it could be from books she had read and movies she had seen.
She liked him. She truly liked Derek Hale.
Derek Hale.
Derek Hale.
Derek Hale.
The name repeated inside her head like a grounding mantra.
Derek Hale, the werewolf.
Derek Hale, the alpha.
Derek Hale, the most wanted man in her family.
The girl wasn’t afraid of her feelings. Those she could guard, those she could shield from her world. Her emotions weren’t the ones she wanted to keep safe. She wanted to keep Derek safe — keep him safe. Her family had already caused him so much pain. Her own flesh had burned away his family like they were nothing more than insects. The same blood that rushed through her veins had been able to kill a group of innocent people leaving Derek on his own.
That was what she wanted to protect him from. (Y/N) wanted him shielded from all the horror her family would continue to enforce. When she turned eighteen, she would be able to escape and find a way out of the circle that had forgotten the code of a hunter and had decided that supernatural lives were worthless.
All they had to do was reach mid-December. Nine months, that’s all they needed. Nine months and they could dive head-first into whatever it was they were feeling. Whatever new adventure life wanted to throw their way.
“Well, someone seems chipper now,” Isaac teased as (Y/N) balanced her motorcycle on its stand. “I take it things between Derek and you have been fixed?”
“Something like that,” she chuckled. “We at least put some things on the table.”
“What does that even mean?”
Isaac followed her into the house, waiting for her answer. But she simply waltzed through the house, landing in the kitchen. She got a bottle of water and a slice of pizza out of the fridge, eating it without heating it up.
“(Y/N), just tell me what you meant,” Isaac chuckled as he followed her to the living room. “If this is you being happy, I don’t like it.”
“There’s not much to say, honestly,” she mumbled. “We just talked.”
“Give me something here, (Y/N),” Isaac exasperated as he plopped down on the couch next to her. “Judging by the way you’re acting you two did more than just talk.”
“Ew, Isaac,” (Y/N) gasped dramatically. “Need I remind you that I am a minor.”
“He’s not that much older than us and you’re only 17 for a couple more months.”
“9 months to be exact, but who’s counting?” The girl got up from the couch and headed back to the kitchen, dancing around all of her friend’s questions. “You know what this pizza needs? Ranch. It needs some ranch.”
“(Y/N), why are you avoiding me?”
“I’m not.”
“You’ve been skating around the topic since you got here. I just wanna know what’s going on between the two of you.”
“Truthfully, there’s nothing going on,” she shrugged. “There’s nothing that can go on just yet. Nothing for nine grueling months. Nothing more, nothing less.”
“What happened a couple of hours ago wasn’t nothing, (Y/N),” he added. “There’s only a few years of difference between you. Are you really telling me you wouldn’t risk it?”
“I could, Isaac, but not with him,” (Y/N) sighed. “I cannot give my family any ammunition against him. If they ever found out that we were together they would find a way to get the authorities involved and trap him afterward, even if he’s innocent. And that not only would put Derek in more danger, but it would set a target on you and everyone else. I simply cannot do that.”
“We can protect ourselves, (Y/N).” He rounded the kitchen island, stopping once he was right next to her, and placed a comforting hand on her arm. “You deserve to be happy. I mean, Allison and Scott are making it work. Why can’t you?”
“Are they making it work?” she questioned. “They sneak around all the time. They have to pretend they hate each other when they’re in school. They can’t admit they’re in love without putting the other in harm’s way. I don’t want that.”
“So, instead you’re gonna pretend that you feel nothing for him? How is that the better option? In the long run, you’re only hurting yourselves.”
“And what am I supposed to do, Isaac? What am I supposed to do if you guys get hurt because of a decision I made?  How could I live with myself if my family got their hands on you because of me?” (Y/N) spoke through gritted teeth, holding back the tears that threatened to spill. “I can’t do it. I refuse.”
Isaac remained quiet for a beat, her words sinking into him as every second passed. He understood her need to protect them, the desperation to withhold her wants in order to keep everyone safe. “Is this about Josie?” he whispered, carefully choosing his next words. “Your job is not to protect everyone. At some point, you need to allow yourself to want things for yourself.”
“I can’t. There are too many lives at risk right now and I won’t let anything happen to any of you if I can help it,” she responded sternly. “I don’t care if it takes a lifetime. If it means that you will all be safe, then I will stay away from him.”
“You’re as stubborn as they come, (Y/N),” Isaac responded in defeat. He placed his hands on either side of her face, pressing his forehead to hers as he gifted her a smile. “But if you ever change your mind, just let me know. I’ve got your back, Argent.”
“Thank you, Isaac. I’ve got your back too.”
“You better,” he chuckled. “Now, let’s go to bed. We’ve got a couple of long days ahead of us.”
“You don’t have to tell me twice.”
***
School had been uneventful the next day, the only thing that could be felt was the anxious excitement of the students as talk of the secret rave kept spreading. Tickets were already scarce as it was and as more people knew of its existence the harder it would become to get them.
Thankfully, talk of the rave was strong enough to quiet any whispers of what had transpired in the library. The fact that it had been completely destroyed by supernatural creatures the student body had no idea of had been hidden under the rumor that it had simply been a teenage fight. It was baffling and incomprehensible, yet everyone accepted the answer at face value. At the end of the day, it was simply school property and nothing more interesting.
“Here you go,” Isaac said after math class was over, slipping (Y/N) a yellow and pink piece of paper. “One ticket for tomorrow night’s secret rave. Courtesy of one Derek Hale.”
“Is that what you left so early this morning for? I thought they were already sold out!”
“If there’s one thing I know about Derek it’s that he has connections. And that he’d stop at nothing to stop Jackson.”
“You mean save,” (Y/N) corrected as she walked by his side to her locker. “We are going to save Jackson.”
“Yeah, that.”
“Seriously, Isaac. He’s being controlled by someone else and has no idea of what he’s doing,” she added. Her words were filled with compassion and worry, concerned for a boy that, though despicable, was innocent in the whole ordeal. “Jackson Whittemore might be a whole lot of things, but I know he’s not a killer.”
“You sound like Scott,” Isaac chuckled. “I honestly don’t think I’ve ever heard more people rally behind that guy since he’s become a sort of murderer.”
“Everyone deserves a chance,” (Y/N) said. “If they didn’t, I would have cut you off the second you turned into a cocky ass.”
“Hey, I’ve always been nice to you. It’s other people I don’t like.”
“Who? Stiles and Scott?” she teased. “Is it because Derek doesn’t like them?”
“Contrary to popular belief, I can think for myself,” he scoffed lightly. “I don’t like them because they haven’t given me any reason to like them. That could change at any point, but it seems unlikely.”
“And have you ever even talked to them?”
“Not exactly,” he shrugged into his seat. “But I don’t really care to talk about that. Tonight, we’re gonna go see Scott’s boss, the vet. Apparently, he can help us catch Jackson tomorrow night. Wanna come with?”
“I suppose I could. There’s not much happening back home,” she sighed happily. “I think it’s cause my dad’s away.”
“Well then, we’ll have fun,” he smiled. “Just you, me, Scott, and Derek. What a fun group of people.”
“I get along fine with everyone,” she returned the smile. “It’s Derek and you that need to learn how to be able to deal with other people.”
“A couple of weeks ago you couldn’t even say more than five words to them. Now, you’re the biggest team player?”
“What can I say? I really flourish in a stable environment.”
“Between kanimas, werewolves, and hunters,” he laughed. “What a stable environment.”
“At least I’m not moving at the end of the year,” she grinned, slamming the locked door closed. “Now, let’s go eat before we meet the vet. I can’t think on an empty stomach.”
As the day transitioned into night, Isaac and (Y/N) left her house for Derek’s. It was in moments like those that the Argent girl forgot what her world had turned into. She wasn’t just going over to her crush’s house to admire him from afar as she spent time with her friend. No. She was on her way to pick up an alpha to figure out how to stop a reptilian-shapeshifting teenager.
(Y/N) had only ever wanted to have a normal life, and for most of it she thought her biggest obstacle was moving every year. In reality, it was the fact that her parents had been secretly training her to become a supernatural hunter. Everything she had been craving was farther from her reach than she could have ever thought.
Still, she could only deal with one problem at a time. Stopping Jackson was the most pressing matter and that’s what her mind had to focus on. Especially when half of the people she surrounded herself with wanted the boy dead. She couldn’t, and wouldn’t, stand for that.
She killed the engine of her motorcycle as Isaac hopped off the back. They were met with a scowling Derek, his arms crossed tightly across his chest. The sight alone had the girl biting back a laugh, finding the façade he wore when others were around to be the most hilarious acting he could do. She had already seen the side of him he so desperately hid from others, and she could not think of him otherwise.
“Oh, come on, Derek,” Isaac grinned. “There’s no need for jealousy. (Y/N) and I are just friends.”
“I’m not jealous. How could I be?” he devilishly smiled as he got into his car. “There’s no real competition.”
“Cool it, boys,” (Y/N) interjected, settling into the passenger seat. “It’s not like there’s much to choose from. We are terribly lacking in the casting department here in Beacon Hills.”
“And what is that supposed to mean?” Derek grumbled.
“It means that I have to pick from a really small pool of options,” she said mischievously, a playful grin on her face. “You’re definitely number one. But you’re a close second, Isaac.”
“Hear that, Derek?” Isaac laughed, peeking his head to the front. “You better play your cards right or I might have a chance.”
Instead of responding, Derek slammed on the brakes, making Isaac’s seatbelt lock as his body lurched forward, knocking the air out of his lungs. Quietly, he sat back onto his seat, his eyebrows furrowing and his arms crossing across his chest like a child after a tantrum. But all (Y/N) could stare at was the cocky grin that was plastered on Derek’s face.
“Alright, enough of this pissing competition,” (Y/N) laughed softly. “We have real business to tend to and I don’t wanna be late.”
“You heard the lady, Derek. Step on it.”
“Watch it, Isaac.”
“Guys,” she called their attention, scolding them with her gaze. “Let’s just go.”
The rest of the short car ride was quiet, filled with the soft hum of the radio and the air blowing out of the A/C. But there were stolen glances and smiles between the people in the front of the car. Their arms rested on the center console, their fingers itching to interlace as they stretched toward each other, neither really giving in.
One second, they were leaving Derek’s loft, and the next, they were parked in front of the Beacon Hills Animal Clinic. Before they could reach the door, Scott was already unlocking it, his face contorted in confusion as he stared at (Y/N) and Isaac.
“What’s he doing here?” Scott questioned.
“I need him.”
“I don’t trust him,” the boy added as he walked back inside.
“Yeah, well, he doesn’t trust you either,” Isaac said cockily, his mask quickly slipping on.
“You know what?” the older man said annoyed. “And Derek doesn’t really care.”
“What about you, (Y/N)?” Scott asked, his tone softening. “Why are you here?”
“Just along for the ride. But at the end of the day, I’m a good mediator for whatever tension is roaming here.”
“That won’t be necessary,” Derek quickly said. “Now where’s the vet? Is he gonna help us or what?”
“That depends,” the doctor answered, appearing seemingly out of nowhere. “Your friend, Jackson. Are we planning to kill him or save him?”
Derek answered, “Kill him,” at the same time Scott and (Y/N) responded, “Save him.”
Both of the teens stared at the alpha, not shocked at his answer but a tad disappointed. Scott had been clear when he agreed to work together, things would be done his way and that meant doing everything possible to rescue Jackson. And if Derek had any doubts, there were none left once Scott reiterated twice that Jackson would be saved.
Then, and only then, did Dr. Deaton allow the group back into the treatment room. They all stood behind the exam table, following the vet’s every move. He took hold of a tray with neatly arranged vials with symbols on the lids.
With childlike curiosity, Isaac reached for the glass containers. Only to have Derek snatch his hand away. “Watch what you touch,” he said, and (Y/N) couldn’t help but agree. She had learned rather quickly that when it came to that secret world it was better to air of the side of caution.
“So, what are you?” the blonde questioned, keeping his hands to himself but ignoring Derek’s reprimand. “Some kind of witch?”
“No, I’m a veterinarian,” Deaton responded to him before he shifted the conversation to what they were there for. “Unfortunately, I don’t see anything here that’s going to be an effective defense against a paralytic toxin.”
(Y/N) was intrigued by the man. Even if he claimed to be a mere human, she could tell there was something more to him. There was a powerful energy that emanated from him, but she couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was or what it could mean.
As the man questioned about the Kanima and the others answered, her mind was deadest of figuring out what the energy she was feeling meant. If he was truly just a human, she was afraid she was losing her mind.
“Essentially, you’re trying to capture two people,” she heard him say as her brain focused back on the situation at hand. The doctor turned for a second and pulled out a medallion. “A puppet… and a puppeteer,” he explained as he placed the disk on the table. “One killed the husband while the other killed the wife. Do we know why?”
“I don’t think Jackson could do it,” (Y/N) finally spoke. “His mother died pregnant too, and she was maybe murdered. I think he couldn’t let the same happen to someone else.”
“How do you know it’s not part of the rules?” Isaac questioned. “The Kanima kills murderers. If Jackson kills the wide, then the baby dies too.”
“Does that mean your father was a murderer?” Scott asked him.
“Wouldn’t surprise me if he was.”
Instinctively, (Y/N)’s hand flew to Isaac’s forearm and gave it a comforting squeeze. Even if the man was a horrible human being and had made the boy’s life a living hell, she knew how hard it still was for him to talk about the man.
“Hold on,” Deaton pondered. “The book says they’re bonded, right? What if the fear of water isn’t coming from Jackson, but from the person controlling him? What if…?” he continued as he grabbed a vial of something (Y/N) recognized as mountain ash and drew a circle around the silver medallion. “Something that controls the Kanima also affects its master?”
“Meaning what?”
“Meaning we can catch them,” she smiled at the blond. “Both of them. If this theory is right, that means we could get Jackson and whoever is controlling him in the same place.”
“In theory, it should work,” the doctor added. “But you should plan for all possibilities. Scott, you can come over tomorrow and pick up what supply I have of mountain ash. Hopefully, this plan works.”
“I hope so too,” the boy added. “So, we’ll meet up tomorrow before the rave to make sure we’re all on the same page. Right, Derek?”
“Right,” he grumbled. “We’ll see you tomorrow night then.”
Once everyone had agreed to the plan, Deaton and Scott walked the trio to the door, wishing them a good night and safe travels home. But keeping up their macho bravado and feeding their air of dominance, Isaac and Derek made a beeline for the car rather than return the sentiment. It was childish and petty, but it forced a smile out of (Y/N).
“I apologize for those two. It seems they have forgotten their manners,” (Y/N) said. “But thank you, Dr. Deaton, for all your help. And thank you, Scott, for everything you’re doing to make sure Jackson comes out of this alive. He may be a shitty guy, but he doesn’t deserve to die.”
“Thanks, (Y/N),” Scott smiled, placing a reassuring hand on her arm. “And although I cannot say I understand why you’re even in the same presence as Derek Hale, I’m glad you’re there to keep him in line.”
“Eh, he’s not that tough,” she chuckled. “Anyways, I’ll see you tomorrow. And thank you again, Deaton.”
“Please, call me Alan.”
“Then, thank you, Alan.”
“Get home safe, (Y/N),” Scott called out as she walked to the car.
“You too, Scott,” she smiled. “We’ll get them tomorrow. Even if it takes everything out of us.”
As soon as the girl had closed the door of the black Camaro, the car sped out of the parking lot. After such an influx of information and the slightest sliver of hope, silence befell them. The ride was silent, once again filled only with the soft sound of the radio and the blast from the A/C.
There wasn’t anything more to be said. They either trapped both the kanima and his master, or they would die trying. And it was that sense of dread that kept them mute until they reached the loft where Isaac excused himself to grab a change of clothes.
(Y/N) walked to Derek’s side, leaning against the car right beside him, enjoying the smoothness of his leather jacket against her. It took every ounce of self-control for them to not deepen the touch, to reach out to one another in seek of comfort.
“What do you think will happen tomorrow?” (Y/N) asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Honestly, I have no idea,” he sighed. “If it were up to me…”
“If it were up to you Jackson would be dead,” she finished sternly. “An innocent life would be taken.”
“Jackson is not innocent.”
“Someone is literally calling the shots for him, Derek. He doesn’t even remember what he’s done,” she retorted. “He shouldn’t be faulted for something he is not doing on his own.”
“I know,” he exasperated. “But he’s still done so many horrible things, even if he doesn’t know it. And he’ll continue to do them if he and whoever is controlling him isn’t stopped.”
“Just please, Derek.” (Y/N) turned to face him, her eyes desperately searching into the darkness of his. Her hands rested on his crossed arms, the only way she found she could convey the level of her worry. "Promise me you won’t kill him. Do whatever it takes to stop him but kill him.”
Derek could only sigh at her plea. He could see the desperation behind her eyes, the way they were looking for any sign of deception in his. But he knew he could not lie, at least not to her. “All I can promise is that he’ll remain alive as long as he stays away from you,” he said. “If he does anything to harm you, he is as good as dead.”
“Derek…”
“I’m serious, (Y/N). I’d be so much as digs a single claw into you, I will make sure I’m the one to rip his throat out.”
“Even if we know his venom won’t do anything to me?” (Y/N) blurted. Derek’s eyes grew wide, thinking she would never find out about his transgression. But she had told him that Scott had revealed everything to her, that was just part of the story. “Yes, Scott told me you tested me and Lydia. And at some point, I was everyone’s favorite suspect. What would you do if it had been me? Would you not hesitate to kill me as well?”
“I never doubted you,” he told her, softly cradling the side of her face. “It was never my intention to test you. You just so happened to shade that piece of candy with Lydia. I knew it could have never been you.”
“How could you be so sure? You didn't know me, Derek. You still barely know me,” her voice croaked. “So, I'm asking you. If I had been the kanima, would you be advocating this hard to kill me?”
“Absolutely not.”
“Then, you shouldn't want to kill Jackson either.”
“It's not even comparable to how I care for you,” he smiled. “But I promise you, and only you, that I will not kill him.”
“That's all I can ask for,” she said, returning the warm smile. “And I'm glad to hear you wouldn't have killed me. I think death wishes would really tamper with our chances.”
“I'm glad it wasn't you then,” he chuckled. “Although, I think we could have made it work. We just would have to make sure your scales were always hydrated.”
“A kanima and a werewolf,” she laughed. “What a match it would have been.”
As they laughed in unison, their gazes met under the light of the moon. His green eyes shone brightly as they studied every inch of her face, every so often falling to her lips. He noted the pinkness of the skin and the plumpness. He saw how they trembled slightly whenever his eyes landed on them. He spotted how they parted to allow a deep breath to slip through.
Oh, how he wanted to taste them. To crash his lips onto hers and savor every second of connection. All it would take was a single move. In less than a second, he could answer every question he had about her mouth.
So, he slowly leaned in.
And she did too.
They were millimeters away from breaking their resolve and throwing caution to the wind. A gust of air and their nine-month pact would be broken. At least, they would have given in to the feeling they most craved for.
“Welp, ready to go!” Isaac's voice startled them apart. His head was focused on his bag, making sure he had everything he needed, and had no idea he had ruined a moment for the pair. “You think we could stop for some food on the way back? I'm starving again.”
The duo could only stare at the tall blond, their faces growing red in embarrassment. “What?” Isaac muttered. “Is it too late for food?”
"It's fine, Isaac,” (Y/N) chuckled at his obliviousness. “We'll get something on the way back. Go start the bike. Let it warm up.”
“Alright,” he said, easily catching the keys she threw him. “I'll let you two lovebirds say goodbye.”
Once he was out of sight, the pair laughed quietly. They had once again been interrupted by one of Derek's teenage strays. And once more they had been that close to giving in to their urges.
“It seems like the universe wants us to wait,” she grinned. “For the record, I really want to kiss you.”
“For the record,” he whispered into her ear. “I really want to kiss you too.”
“I mean, there’s nothing really stopping us right now,” she said, biting her lower lip. “We could just... do it.”
“Not with Isaac right there,” he reminded her. “He might not hear us well, but he can definitely see us. And, not gonna lie, I don’t really wanna kiss you with an audience.”
“Neither do I,” she chuckled. “A year, huh?”
“Nine months,” he smiled. “But who’s counting?”
