Back with another chapter that actually gave me such a headache to edit, you have no idea how much I cut from this. Mostly filler here, nothing terribly important, just buildup.
[Psst, @itsberrydreemurstuff, I saved you a seat :) I dunno if this is what a taglist is supposed to look like, but now you've got a front row ticket]
(Ch 1, Ch 2, Ch 3)
Now, on with the show!
Word Count: 1,754
You wake up and immediately regret it when a headache hits you like a dump truck. You make no move to sit up just yet, debating on whether or not you really need to go to work today. Your stuffy nose and sore throat certainly aren’t helping your argument.
As usual, the pep-talk does absolutely nothing, but you find yourself sitting up anyways, wincing at the jolt that runs through your spine at the movement. You ignore it and hobble to the kitchen cabinet on legs too weak to stand.
O-kay, maybe this wasn’t just a light cold.
It’s fine, you tell yourself, leaning on the countertop and squinting at the labels on pill bottles before finding what you need. It’s all fine. I’ll just get some meds and head out.
You heat up a glass of milk and mix in a dollop of butter and honey before downing it, feeling the swelling in your throat start to go down. Some Tylenol and cough medicine helps combat whatever’s attacking your immune system for the time being. You stuff the meds in your bag, along with tissues and another book that you pray Moon won’t destroy and an extra pair of work clothes, just in case. You throw in your laptop at the last second, and head out the door, driving over to the plex.
You slide your badge over the scanner, clocking in and heading straight for the Daycare. The mental countdown begins.
You head straight for the desk after bidding a good morning to a room seemingly devoid of its Attendant. You doubt they aren’t here, though. They’re probably around somewhere hanging from the rafters or disinfecting the play structure for the umpteenth time. Sun does it often. (You’d offered to leave him something to do after hours once, when you were starting out. He did not appreciate the gesture, accusing you of prying into his business and reminding you to mind your own.) The faint jingle of bells gives him away. They both tended to dismiss your greetings and attempts at conversation without response. That was okay though. You’d been told before that you were sometimes a bit too much oblivious as to when the right time to converse was.
You set your bag down beside you and pull out your laptop. You had to send an email to management about yesterday, not to mention the request for maintenance on the Daycare Attendant. You’d noticed they moved more stiffly as of late. Maybe a joint problem? You did have the qualifications to work on them yourself, but they didn’t seem to like that idea last time. You’d worked on other animatronics before, though. Mostly STAFFbots who didn’t have the time for Parts & Service, but also that one time when Monty’s endo bugged out. He’d nearly killed you after you replaced it and booted him up, making it adamantly clear that you would do better to get someone more qualified to do it should it happen again, which was fair enough, considering that you didn’t have too much experience in the field. You briefly recall the bruises on your arms when he’d grabbed you.
Right, the list. Email management, request maintenance…you consider calling your brother during lunch, let him know he might have to pick you up if you get worse. You decide against it. He has enough on his plate, he shouldn't have to worry about you. Besides, you could survive the day. It was a little cold, that’s all, it would pass and you’d be fine. You could take nap time off for lunch if it got that bad. You hadn’t exactly eaten much the last few days, and the worst Moon could do is take your stuff.
You start typing up your report, leaving out little bits of interaction with the Attendants and instead focusing on the children. As usual, the kids were all tended to without issue and the Daycare was spick and span, wholly worthy of its five-star review. It was fine. All fine. You finish, eying the word count and praying that Management would care to read at least a quarter of it before hitting send and pulling up a separate email.
Having submitted the most pressing issues, you close your laptop and stretch. Welp. Might as well see what else there is to do. You walk through the open space, spotting no messes thanks to Sun’s obsessive cleaning. You peered into the arts and crafts bin, noting the dwindling piles of materials. You’d need to order more. Now that you thought about it, the cleaning supplies would probably need to be replenished as well with how frequently your coworkers ran through them.
Restocking aside, you move on, making a mental to-do list as you go. You might as well bring a few more children’s books while you were at it, you were more than willing to donate yours from your youth. And you’d have to take out that sewing kit of yours, the stuffies and pillows were starting to wear down and rip again. Maybe you’d do well to buy new ones…
You mull through everything you’d have to take stock of, leaning against the wall and duly noting the pain that lingered in your legs. Nothing to worry about, you’d go home if you were actually hurt. Sun was lurking around here somewhere, it wouldn’t do well to be so dramatic over nothing when you had a job to do. You push yourself off the wall and stand back up, straightening your legs to keep your footing even. You could make it a couple hours, you would see this through.
You check the clock again. 20 minutes until opening. You wrack your brain for something else to do, reluctantly grabbing a binder of one of the taller shelves and returning to the desk. It was high time you reviewed the schedule for the month. Not the most entertaining task, but you’d learned that work wasn’t supposed to be fun.
You open it up and skim the contents briefly. Meal plans, activities, compacted schedules…that one made you raise a brow. Apparently a field trip was to be held some time later this month to see the GlamRock’s performance. And since Sun couldn’t leave the Daycare, and you were required to be present…
You inhale and shut your eyes for a moment, half-aware of your hands gesturing in the ‘bruh’ meme fashion before raking through your hair.
Fantastic. Wonderful. You’d be chaperoning with Moon. Peachy.
You want to find the nearest ditch to crawl into and die in.
No matter. It would be fine. He’d probably be too focused on the children to torment you.
(You knew that wouldn’t stop him. He wasn’t like Sun, who ignored you entirely-he’d find a way to make you suffer.)
You shake off the knot beginning to form in your stomach and snap the binder shut, placing it back in its spot. Your vision blurs for a moment before you for the two sets of jungle gyms back into one and rub your eyes. There’s a knock on the door, marking the official start of the day.
“I’ll get it!” you call out to the supposedly empty daycare, hearing no reply. You push the doors open and greet a woman with two kids hot on her heels. They take off with screeches of laughter while you jot down the information their mother tells you with a smile and a nod.
The daycare starts filling up as the minutes tick by, and Sun finally makes his appearance, looking just as bright and cheerful as ever. Soon, the kids are all whisked off to whatever catches their fancy. A couple of them decide to stick with you today, and you’re sucked into a game of doctor. You’re not the best with kids, but you make do, citing your illness of randomly bursting into song at any given moment with no known cure. You count it off as a success when they break into fits of laughter at each iconic reference you perform, complete with dramatic poses and memorized lyrics for each request you’re given (though you make sure it’s G-rated first, of course).
You have Hakuna Matata (among several others) floating around in your head throughout snack time, but it’s a small price to pay. While the tots munch on apple slices and pretzel sticks (that you consider but refrain from eating), you eye Sun warily.
He was usually up and about before your shift even started. His absence, while not entirely unwelcome, was somewhat concerning considering his track record of perfect attendance on functionality.
After gathering your non-existent confidence, you muster up the ability to turn to him fully and ask, “Hey, Sun? Are you okay?”
His eyes ‘blink’ as he tilts his faceplate to stare at you quizzically. “Of course! Why wouldn’t I be?”
You glance away, a bit unnerved at the blank optics burning holes into you. Your conviction wavers. “I dunno,” you shrug after a second. “You weren’t around earlier, I got worried.”
He regards you coldly. “Well, Y/N, our whereabouts do not concern you…unless you’re admitting to requiring supervision?”
The question is innocent, but a sharp edge lies beneath it. There always is.  And yyyep, there goes that confidence, completely dissipating. Your cheeks burn with indignance and embarrassment. “Nevermind…” So much for worrying about your fellow coworker. You feel that headache coming back on, you don’t want to make it worse. You take your leave after the children finish, continuing your games with a little less vigor.
Naptime rolls around and you’re almost as tuckered out as the kids. That lingering back pain from earlier has returned full force. You rub your shoulder blades and leave it at that, subtly limping over to the desk as the lights cut.
You steal a glance at Moon, with one of the twins in his lap watching him read to the excited children that were quick to grow drowsy. You liked seeing him like this, a stark contrast between his typical snarky and sometimes malicious attitude directed at you. You kept watching as he changed his voice to match the characters, much to his audience’s delight. Mean as they were to you, they really were incredible with children. You lower your gaze back to the desk before he notices you staring. You find yourself yawning, more tired than usual. You slowly slip from consciousness, breathing evening out as you rest your head in your arms, falling into a light slumber.
Aaaand that's a wrap! I dunno when I'll put the 5th part out cuz I dunno how to complete Chapter 6, but hopefully I'll figure it out. MC is a little under the weather here, hope that won't be of any consequence later on...

Fine On My Own

Title: Fine On My Own
Word Count: Wouldn't you like to know?
Summary: Your parents had been on the secret council of Mystic Falls and as the eldest child, they had told you everything that being a founding family member meant. But you hadn't wanted their legacy. On a whim, you had dated the original vampire Kol Mikaelson just to spite your parents. You were supposed to hate him and vice versa but you ended up feeling the opposite. But he left - you knew he had to but that didn't make it feel any better. Then someone blew your parents to kingdom come. When Kol showed up at your door, you didn't know how to let him back into your life. Did you even want him to come back? || Kol x reader || Here lies my Masterlist
Warnings: Blood, violence, fluffy and protective Kol, a manipulative wack-job, and way too many LOTR references.
Requested By: @misswe03 I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it! Thanks for being here.
A/N: Listen to Who Did That To You by John Legend when you read that last half. Makes it 10x better. Also Y/B/N stands for your brother's name just so there's no confusion. Anyway... Roll Tape!
Pulling your hair into a ponytail at the nape of your neck, you cracked open the door to the guest room quietly, peaking in for just a moment before entering. An unconscious smile spread across your face as you wandered over to the far corner of the darkened space.
"Hello, lil' miss! Hows' ya doin' today?" You cooed. The adorable little baby giggled softly in her bassinet, staring up at you with chocolate brown eyes that looked strikingly like her father's. You waved at her before bending down to pick her up. "Did you have a good nap? Yes? Oh, dere's a good girl, yes. Yes, ma'am. You're just the sweetest, aren't you?"
The baby gurgled and showed you the beginnings of a smile. She really was a mercifully sweet baby. For three and a half months old, the girl hardly ever cried. You held her up against your shoulder and gave her a kiss on her head. Downstairs, the doorbell rang and you frowned.
"Now who could that be, sweet-bubby?" You muttered. The baby didn't offer any probable suggestions of course, though you probably would have been more upset if she had.
You debated for a moment whether or not you should go get the door. It was five o'clock in the afternoon and you hadn't been expecting anyone so odds were it was probably just some door-to-door salesperson or something. They'd probably go away if you ignored them. There was also an off chance it could be one of your friends, but none of them had contacted you in weeks. Not since the-
You winced a little.
It wasn't like you could blame any of them, they'd all tried their best. You'd have done the same thing in their shoes. It wasn't their fault they didn't have a clue what they should say to you. What on earth can you say to a person when their parents get blo-
You held that sweet baby girl closer and shoved the end of that thought away, blinking rapidly. You'd been doing so well.
The doorbell rang again and you rolled your eyes, secretly grateful for the distraction now. "Let's go see who that is. Yeah, we're gonna go see, huh baby?"
Descending the stairs carefully as you were still holding a baby, you arrived at the door just as someone rang the bell again. You slid away the deadbolt and flipped the lock, opening the door just a smidge - just enough so you could see out - you wanted to be able to easily slam it shut if needed. You shifted the baby to keep her out of sight. Paranoia had been plaguing you recently, it wasn't something you couldn't help. You peered out at the person standing on your porch and gasped, blinking a few times to assure you weren't seeing things.
The boy outside was tall - a little over six foot - and thin, but in a lithe, muscular sort of way, not the wimpy kind of way like other boys. He wore dark blue jeans, a black shirt, and a gray canvas jacket with the collar turned up against the weather outside. His thick, dark hair was longer than it had been the last time you'd seen him and it looked a little windblown, but that was okay; it still looked cute on him. He stood with his hands shoved deep in his jacket pockets, rocking back and forth on his heels nervously, with his head bowed and his gaze fixed on the ground. He only glanced up when he heard you gasp, raising his head to look at you with hooded eyes - big, chocolate brown, puppy-dog eyes that you loved more than you should.
"Kol?" You breathed, opening the door a little wider. The corners of his lips twitched up in a smile that was both hesitant and reserved.
"Hello, darling."
That smooth, silky voice washed over you and you instantly felt your body relax a little. It was involuntary - just muscle memory at this point. That boy had been your safe place once, but that was before he'd taken off in a puff of smoke. Sure, he texted and called, but that just wasn't the same as knowing where he was and seeing his face. You understood that was for your own safety - didn't stop it from hurting though. You had still missed him.
"Hi," You whispered. All you could offer him was a fragile smile - it was nothing like the broad, wild one you knew he liked, but you were trying your best. You felt stretched pretty thin. "I, uh… I didn't know you were back. Have you been in town long?"
He shook his head. "Not long. Only about two, maybe three hours or so."
"And how long will you be staying?" You asked even quieter, tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear with your free hand. You knew he would hear you regardless of how quietly you spoke.
"A while, I hope," He replied. Kol took a step forward. "May I come in, love?" He kept his voice gentle and you wanted to feel safe but he had that look on his face that said he wanted to talk to you about something. Talking was the last thing you wanted to do - you had to keep moving.
You shook your head, staring at your feet, you moved to close the door but Kol stopped it with his hand. He didn't overpower you though like you knew he could. He just watched you with something soft in his eyes.
"You don't have to shut me out, Y/N/N," He murmured.
"I know that," You said.
"Do you?"
A moment passed and you sighed heavily.
"Take your shoes off in the foyer."
That was all you said before abandoning the door. At least you hadn't made dinner yet so you could include him in your preparations. Might as well do that now;  he didn't technically need to eat but you would include him anyway - it was the right thing to do. The sound of the door closing came from behind you as you entered the kitchen. You could have fought him harder but there wasn't really a point in doing so. You were already so tired.
After taking a moment to obey your singular command, Kol shuffled into the kitchen wordlessly. You didn't even have to glance over your shoulder to know he was leaning against the doorway with his arms folded, watching you and wondering. You chuckled slightly and faced him, turning the baby in your arms around as well. You gave her a gentle kiss on her head.
"This is Millie," You said, nodding towards her. Then you stooped a bit to address the baby girl. "And this here is Kol, Millie. He's my friend. Wanna say hi? Yeah, can you say hi?" You took her hand and helped her wave at Kol. "Yes, that's a hello from you! That's a little hello from Millie!" You glanced up at Kol, a smile tugging at the corners of your lips.
A small but genuine smile spread across Kol's face as he waved at the baby. "Hello, Millie!" He chuckled. "Are you having fun with Y/N/N?"
"Oh yeah, totally." You smirked. "This lil' Miss is my new best friend."
Kol gasped in foux shock. "But Millie, Y/N is my best friend! Did you steal her away from me?" The little baby giggled in response, flapping her arms a little.
"I think she did," You hummed, sending him a pitying look.
Kol stepped forward and held his hand out to Millie, letting her wrap her little hand around his finger and smiling as she did. "I don't believe this, darling. What's this little munchkin got that I haven't?"
You shrugged. "Sorry, Kol. She's just a lot cuter than you."
Kol rolled his eyes and smirked. "I take offense to that," He said. You huffed a laugh and turned around to preheat the stove so you could start making dinner. Mac 'n cheese because you'd always thought you'd have time to learn how to cook. Not anymore.
You could feel Kol's eyes burning a hole into the back of your head as you moved around the kitchen. You knew what he was wondering - knew he didn't want to ask. It had been almost eight months since he'd last seen you. It was possible. You stopped what you were doing and sighed.
"She's not mine, Kol," You told him, your voice soft. You didn't turn to face him but you could hear his breath of relief. "This is Milie Stoker - my second cousin I think… something like that, I'm not sure. She's three and a half months old. I've been taking care of her since-"
You cut yourself off with a strangled hum, trying to ignore or maybe distract yourself from the sudden spike of pain in your chest. You hugged that little girl closer - she needed you to be stronger than this.
"Y/N?" The weight of Kol's gaze grew heavier on your back but you refused to look at him. In fact, you sniffed and straightened, acting as though you hadn't even heard.
"Did you know babysitters get paid like 18 dollars an hour?" You forced a laugh. "That's better than working at the grill, and all I have to do is hold a baby!"
Kol sighed. "Darling, why didn't you tell me?" He asked, his voice firm but gentle.
You stiffened and shifted Millie's weight to hide how much your hands were shaking. "You had your own problems," You mumbled. "You know, being on the run and all that… I guess I just didn't wanna bother you."
"Bother me?" Kol took a step closer to you but you still couldn't face him. "Angel, I would have come running - in fact, that's exactly what I did. I heard the news from Rebekah and I came here as soon as I could. I could have been here sooner if you had just told me." The space between your bodies disappeared as he took another step. You shivered as Kol's warm arms found their way around your waist, tightening simply because he liked to listen to your heart skip a beat. He leaned his head down to nuzzle into your neck, letting his lips brush over every inch of exposed skin. "You were there for me when I needed you, darling. You knew what I was, yet you let me lay with you, let me hold you all the night long when I felt as though I could scarcely breathe. Even when I had no one, I had you. Yet when the unthinkable lands in your lap… you didn't even say a word."
You clenched your teeth against the tidal wave of emotions his words brought swelling to your mind.
"And what was I supposed to say?" You choked out. "How was I supposed to say it, Kol? I can't. I can't say it! I can't even think it!" Kol sighed and urged you to turn around. It's hard to properly hug someone when they're holding a baby so he took your face in his hands and pressed a soft kiss to your forehead instead. You leaned into his touch, grimacing against the painful hole in your chest. "It hurts so bad and I don't know what to do."
"I think it's about time you told someone, darling," He said, stroking your cheek. "You don't have to do this all alone."
You nodded and took a shuddering breath. "Kol?" You forced out. He hummed to let you know he was listening. You bit your lip and held little Millie closer. "Kol, my parents are dead." A sob escaped your lips, sending a painful tremor through your whole body. "They're dead!"
You'd never admitted it out loud before and you felt as though the words were knives, shredding your soul. An overwhelming pain burned in your chest and you fisted his jacket with your free hand, pulling him closer to you.
Kol rubbed your arms, nodding. "I know, darling," He mumbled, feathering his lips over your cheek. "I know and I'm sorry… Now, tell me how they died."
He already knew. He just wanted you to say it - to face the facts you had spent months denying.
"They-they said it was a fire," You hissed through clenched teeth. "The police - they told all of us it was some sort of freak accident, but I know it wasn't. It was on purpose, I know that! The whole council - my-my parents, my mom and dad - somebody blew them up, Kol! And the worst part is, I can't do a thing about it!" You cried, letting your tears soak his shirt.
Kol nodded, watching you intently with understanding in his deep chocolate eyes as his gentle touch drifted down your arm until he held your hand in his own. He pressed his lips against your knuckles in much the same way as he had when you'd first met him - except the gesture now was much sweeter, more familiar, and intimate than it had been that night at his family's ball.
"I'm terribly sorry, Y/N," He said.
"Y/B/N still doesn't know," You continued. "Dad was gonna tell him, and now more than ever he deserves to know the truth but I don't know how to tell him! He's already struggling! How do I tell him that his whole reality is a lie? I-I love Mom and Dad so much, but I don't know what to do, so I have to go along with all this crap the police are spewing and it makes me so angry! I can't even tell my little brother the truth!"
You felt Kol's finger under your chin and chose to comply as he tilted your head up to look at him. He cupped your jaw, tracing your cheek over and over with his thumb.
"I know who did it," He said after a moment. "I know who killed your parents."
Every muscle in your body tensed, yet when you spoke, your tone was eerily calm. "Did you kill them?"
"Yes," He whispered.
You nodded. "And did they suffer?"
"I'd like to think so."
After months of anger and grief, you finally felt yourself begin to relax. "Good," You replied, pressing yourself further into Kol's warm embrace. He stilled, and you could tell that your actions confused him. You had always been such a fair and compassionate soul - your calm demeanor was a breath of fresh air in his confusing and chaotic life. You were practical and level headed and Kol admired that about you, it wasn't like you to wish unnecessary suffering on others.
"Would you like to know who it was?" He asked slowly, petting your hair. You shook your head. You didn't need to know. "Do you want to know why he did it?"
"No." Your voice was hoarse from crying. "All I need to know is that he's never gonna hurt anybody ever again. Too many kids like me and Y/B/N have lost their parents because of him, Millie's never even gonna know hers because of him. I don't think that monster deserves a name."
Kol nodded and let go of you, allowing you to step back and take a breath. You turned away from him, composing yourself as you finished up with the mac and cheese.
"I know you feel guilty about not being here these last few months," You spoke quietly.
Kol sighed and you didn't need to see him to know he was pinching the bridge of his nose. "Y/N, I'm not sure there's a good way to explain this to you but-"
"I'm not finished." You cut him off and he stopped to listen. That had always surprised you about him, the boyfriends you'd had in the past had never respected you the way he did. You didn't have to yell at him to get Kol to listen, you liked that about him. You took a deep breath and it only shook a little. "I know you think I've been suffering, and you're right, I have. I know you're frustrated with me because you think I was being stubborn and you think that you could have eased my burdens if I had just told you. But I'm actually really glad you weren't here," You said thoughtfully.
He blinked, surprised by your admission. "Why?" His tone held a cautious quality in it as if there was a certain answer he was expecting.
"Because of Millie," You answered. Somewhere in the back of your mind, you made a note to drink some water but you weren't sure you had any extra energy to waste on yourself. "If you had been here, she would've had nowhere to go."
Kol's hands dropped from your sides as though he'd been stung. "You think I'd hurt her?" His tone was as much of a question as it was a statement and his voice took on that guarded quality from earlier. Kol didn't like to be pushed away, he wanted the love and trust he gave to be returned. He scoffed and shook his head. "Look, I'm sure your parents had good intentions when they filled your head with lies upon my departure, but you must believe I wouldn't hurt a babe. Regardless of whether or not the child was yours - or heaven forbid, even mine - if you wanted a family, I wouldn't be opposed to the idea! I-I mean, I meant it when I told you I was serious about this - about you - and if you think I would have hurt you over something so trivial as-" He stopped, blinking in confusion as you failed to stifle a laugh. "Wait, love, why are you laughing?" He demanded, his mouth twitching up into a confused smile. Your shoulders shook as you snickered and he couldn't help but chuckle as well. "I'm sorry, was something I said humorous to you?"
"You completely misunderstood me," You giggled, shaking your head.
He raised a brow, his hard tone melting into something more playful. "Did I now?"
You finished serving up your skillfully made five-star cuisine into some plastic bowls and turned back to him with a small smile, shifting Millie's weight against your shoulder as Kol returned his hands to your hips. "I know you would never have hurt Millie," You promised. "If you had stuck around, you probably never would have known about her. You would have been too busy taking care of me."
Kol frowned. "I'm afraid I still don't understand."
You sighed, not bothering to fight the bitter scowl that spread across your face.
"Her parents were on the council. She didn't have any other family… So when I saw Sheriff Forbes standing on my porch, holding this little bundle of sweetness, I knew she needed me. It was only supposed to be for two nights, but two nights turned into two weeks and one day I called Sheriff Forbes and asked if I could keep her. W-we are related after all, and I-I just figured with the frankly ridiculous number of cover ups the Forbes have pulled over the generations that, uh, well that we could find a way to make it legit." You knew you were rambling but Kol's questioning expression had you worried.
"Y/N?" Kol cut you off, holding your shoulders as he watched you worriedly. "Why is it so important that Millie stays with you?"
"Somebody's gotta protect her!" You exclaimed. Your tone sounded as though you were arguing though you weren't sure with who. "The council is gone! Mom and Dad are gone! Millie doesn't have anybody, Kol. She needs me. She needs me to be stronger than I am!"
Kol's brows furrowed and he frowned. "Stronger than you are?" He parroted. "What do you mean stronger?"
You opened your mouth to retort but quickly closed it. Your gaze drifted down to your toes because you couldn't look at him. "I can't get out of bed in the morning until I hear her cry," You admitted, shrinking with shame. "I put her down for a nap and I spend every minute of that time in tears. All I can think about is how proud my parents would be if they could see me. But I don't want them to be proud. I want them to be here, but they're not! Millie is the only way I can make things right." You were crying, your breaths coming in short gasps.
"That's why you don't want to let me help, isn't it?" Kol muttered, nodding in understanding. He stroked your cheek, smiling gently. "You're afraid - terrified that I'll leave again… I promise I won't."
"You can't stay. You can't. If I let you help me, I'll just be enabling my grief." You whispered, shaking your head with a bitter frown. "I'll get used to having you around, a-and then you'll realize I'm not getting any better so you'll leave and I won't be able to function without you!" A sob shook your chest as you raised your head and met his chocolate eyes with your E/C ones full of tears. "I can't fail Millie that way, Kol. I can't and I won't."
"I know you won't," He said. "However, I won't let you go through this alone." You sighed heavily but he wasn't finished speaking. "I can help you without enabling you. Just because you're strong enough to do this on your own doesn't mean you should have to."
You rolled your eyes, groaning. Why couldn't he understand?
"That's just the thing, Kol. I'm not strong enough to do this!" You huffed, gesturing around at your mess of a kitchen. "I broke the second the police showed up at my door! I broke and I keep on breaking!"
"You're not broken, Y/N."
You pushed his hand away, bitterly. "Yes, I am. I can't sleep, I hardly drink, and eating is an actual chore. Don't you get it? I can't do anything!" You cried, letting the ache in your chest seep into your voice.
Kol just smiled. "Well that's because you're trying to do everything," He said, taking hold of your hand. He gave it a squeeze. "I promise, you're not broken, Y/N. You're just sad, and there's nothing wrong with feeling sad."
"No," You hissed, halfheartedly. "No, you're wrong. You need to wake up and see it!" You twisted and tugged at the loose strands of hair that hung in your face, delighting in the sharp pain that followed because you knew that meant this wasn't a dream - that you were justified in pushing him away. "I am not the girl I was before you left. I'm not her. I don't even know what I am anymore."
"I do," Kol spoke up. He dipped his head to look you in the eyes. "You are all the things I've always adored about you, brought to light. You are the compassion - the fierce fierce compassion - and love that you give, that you've always given, to the lonely, the ignored and the abandoned…" Kol leaned in closer, resting his forehead against yours as he continued. "The same compassion and love you offered to me when I needed it most… That same compassion and love I fell for in the first place." He grinned, a little wry and nervous, but sincere all the same. "You're still my girl, Y/N… just a little dirtier, a little bit bent, and a little bit more."
"I appreciate the sentiment, but I just can't handle a relationship right now, Kol." You sniffed, blinking away tears.
"No, darling. You can't handle drama right now," He countered, smirking. His hand played with a loose thread on your sleeve. "I told you I was serious about us and I meant it. I want you, I want to be with you - no drama, no sneaking around just to annoy your parents - just you… just being here for you, to make you smile and to help out where I can, to hold you when you need it, and to annoy the living hell out of you when I inevitably forget to put the milk back in the refrigerator at six in the morning."
A rogue grin played across your lips at his proposed imagery and he chuckled softly, finally taking hold of your hand.
"Just let me help," He pleaded. "No hovering, you have my word. I don't mind waiting for you to sort through all this and I'll be more than willing to support you wherever you choose to go next. I won't leave." A slow grin spread over Kol's face as he took the tiniest shuffling step closer to you. "And who knows? Maybe I'll even teach you what little I know of cooking because, by the gods, woman; you cannot live on boxed macaroni and cheese!"
You couldn't help it. Your lips quirked and your nose scrunched up and you laughed. You just had to, and that was the first time you had done so since your parents had been murdered. That was your first real, wholehearted laugh.
And a moment later, you felt like you might throw up because of the wave of guilt that crashed over you like a tidal wave. How could you laugh? How could you feel good, even for a millisecond, when your parents were dead? You were supposed to be mourning them.
Your face fell and you shook your head. "I can't do this. I'm sorry." Pushing against Kol's chest with your free hand, you tried to create some space between the two of you - physical or emotional, you weren't entirely sure - but the boy didn't budge.
"Can't or won't?" He questioned dryly. His voice was soft but his eyes were narrow and hard.
"I can't," You stressed.
"Why not?" Kol demanded. He moved in even closer. Too close - too close to avoid, too close to escape - boxing you in with the burden of feelings you had spent months smothering. "Because you're afraid? Because I make you happy?"
"Because you're you!" The words barely made it past your clenched teeth. "Because you're Kol Mikaelson! Because you're an original vampire and you're dangerous! You are the embodiment of everything my Mom and Dad dedicated their lives to destroying and…"
You trailed off, losing your bravado as he watched you with eyes that weren't as dark as you'd always thought. Now that the last few rays of sunset were leaking through the window over the kitchen sink, you could see their color properly. They were warm like amber, like sunshine through autumn leaves, like a bonfire on a frigid winter night.
"And?" His voice was so soft you barely heard it.
"And I love you anyway." You shrugged, blinking rapidly through the tears. They kept flowing despite your efforts. "Guess that makes me an awful person, huh? Cause I don't care? My parents are dead and I can't even bring myself to do the one stupid thing they wanted me to do. I mean, that's why they had kids, right? To carry on the legacy!" You forced out a bitter laugh. "But I can't… I can't hate you! I can't honor them because I love you…"
"If you spend your whole life trying to appease the expectations of others, then you never really lived at all. You shouldn't burden yourself with guilt for feeling the way you do moment to moment because emotions aren't meant to be black and white." He shrugged, offering you a smile that was somehow more encouraging than anything anyone had said since your parents had been killed. "You have to let yourself feel these things, work through them, and move on. You can't ignore it. You can't use Millie as a crutch for your grief, Y/N. That's not right, and that's not why she's here. Only you can process your grief."
"How?" You wondered, blinking the tears from your eyes as you stared up at him
"You can start by letting me help you," He whispered. His gaze flicked from your eyes to your lips and his tongue darted out to wet his own. He brushed a stray strand of hair away from your face and smiled down at you as his hand trailed down your side to rest on your hip. "Am I still allowed to kiss you?" He asked, almost nervous. The boy took a step closer, pressing you back against the counter. His lips brushed yours and you let your eyes flutter closed. You had missed being close to him. The boy lingered there, restless, awaiting your answer. He was so close; you could picture yourself giving in. Kol nipped at your lips, hesitantly, sweetly, like he couldn't resist. "Please say yes," He begged.
You nodded. "Yeah."
"Thank you."
Passionate was Kol's default setting. The second his lips met yours, he kissed you like your lips were water and he'd been parched for days. He captured your lips over and over again, breathlessly mumbling a 'bloody hell' every so often and you could tell he was trying to hold back for your sake though he wasn't exactly succeeding. You couldn't help the moan that escaped you as he slid his tongue across your lower lip.
"Kol," You warned, though your voice sounded a little too breathy to be any sort of intimidating. He shook his head minutely.
"Shhh. I'm not done yet." He cut you off with another kiss, pressing against you more firmly. You gasped as he slipped his hand beneath your shirt and trailed it higher inch by inch, caressing your skin lovingly. His nose nudged your cheek as he broke away for hardly a moment. "I need you to trust me, Y/N." He tangled his other hand in your ponytail, tugging sweetly as he caught your lips again and kissed you hungrily. "I'm not going to abandon you," He whispered against your mouth.
"Are you sure?" You had to hear him say it.
"Absolutely," He mumbled, kissing you again. Kol drew his tongue along your lip, torturously slow and devastatingly sweet. You shivered and he smirked victoriously, squeezing you tighter. "You're mine." His words sent a thrill of excitement down your spine and you blushed.
"I'm yours?"
He purred, nodding. "Mine… Always and forever." Kol bit down on your lower lip ever so gently, squeezing your side and you wanted to melt. You wanted to beg him for more but you couldn't.
"Kol, I'm holding a baby," You pointed out, pushing yourself away from that boy and his liquor-like kisses.
He shrugged. "She won't remember anything." The boy leaned down to your neck, leaving butterfly kisses along your jugular.
"True as that may be," You giggled, squirming in his grip. "I made dinner and it's getting cold."
"Oh, heaven forbid," He mumbled.
"Excuse you, sir. I worked hard on this boxed mac 'n cheese." You grinned, feeling yourself slip back into the pattern of banter you'd had with him before he'd left.
"I suppose you did." He grinned and stepped back, holding out his hands. You raised a brow. "Pass the baby," He clarified.
"What?" You asked blankly.
"So you can go get your brother?"
You shook your head. "Uh, no. You go get him."
"Me? He's your brother!"
"He hates me," You huffed.
"No, he doesn't."
You rolled your eyes. "The kid won't even look at me."
"Probably because you look so much like your mother," Kol suggested. "I'm helping you, remember? This is how."
"Come on, Kol," You groaned. "You know he's always looked up to you."
"Not my fault!" The boy raised his hands as if to surrender. You leveled him with a flat look. He sighed, shrugging. "It's because I'm such excellent company, love - I can't help it." You rolled your eyes and he smirked, holding out his hands again. "Baby?"
You sighed and let Kol take Millie from you. He held her up, looking her in the eyes playfully. You heard him talking to her as you walked away.
"You may have her fooled Millie, but not me. I'm not so easy - I know exactly what you're after. I'll hold you, but that's it! There will be no bouncing, and absolutely no rocking you to sleep, young lady. Mark my words."
You rolled your eyes but didn't fight the smile that crept across your lips as you listened to the original vampire ramble in baby-talk. When you arrived at the door to your brother's room, you didn't bother knocking. Your parents had raised both of you under a strict rule of no locked doors, and now that they were gone, neither of you had the heart to break it. If you wanted to get away with something, both you and your brother had learned a long time ago to be more sneaky about it than hiding whatever it was behind a locked door. However, you did have the courtesy to knock on the door frame - that and you just didn't want to wade through the piles of dirty laundry that covered the floor.
"Yo, humungosaurus, come and eat," You called over the sounds of The Lord of the Rings extended edition. He was watching the Two Towers if you placed the dialogue correctly.
"Can't." Y/B/N replied over his shoulder.
"What a compelling argument," You deadpanned. "Mind adding a sentence to that response?"
"They're taking the hobbits to Isengaurd."
You frowned. "Dude, you can pause it."
He waved you off. "I'll eat later."
That was code for not at all. Your little brother had lost a lot of weight in the past few months, more than you were comfortable with. He used to be a little on the chubby side but now he was skin and bones. It wasn't drugs or violence you had to worry about when it came to your little brother. No, his coping method was escapism - he spent all his free time in made-up places, forgetting that he had an actual body to keep alive. It hurt to watch him.
You sighed. "Kol's here."
That got him to pause the movie. Y/B/N turned his head to stare at you, brows raised. "Weirdsmobile is back?" He asked.
"Yeah." You nodded. "He's in the kitchen, probably skimming some off the top of your mac 'n cheese."
"But he's back?" Your little brother asked again.
"That's what I just said."
Your little brother laughed and hopped off his bed. "Now this I gotta see- whoa!" He swayed and stumbled, catching himself on his dresser. "… I stood up too fast."
You offered him a strained smile as he passed you to leave the room, steadying himself on the wall as he walked. You followed and ended up slamming into his back as he stopped just outside the kitchen. Y/B/N glanced back at you with the most genuine smile you'd seen on his face since your parents had died. He pointed into the doorway and you peaked around him to be greeted by the sight of Kol with Millie in his lap, eating a bowl of mac 'n cheese while he read to her from a copy of The Hobbit you had left on the kitchen table.
"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort." He paused to take a bite of the macaroni. "This sounds excellent already, doesn't it Millie? Do you think we should wait for Y/N and her little brother to quit spying or continue on as though we can't see them?" Kol asked the baby, glancing up at you with a smirk.
You stepped into the room and pulled your younger brother with you. "I brought the kid," You reported, jabbing your thumb in his direction.
"So you did." Kol grinned and waved. "Hey there, sport! How've you been?"
"He hasn't been eating," You mumbled, moving to sit by your boyfriend.
Y/B/N glared at you, sitting as well. "She hasn't either," He grumbled.
"I've been eating more than you."
"No, you haven't."
Kol raised a brow. "Ladies, ladies, you're both pretty. Don't argue about it." He turned to your brother. "I know your sister hasn't been taking proper care of herself and believe me when I say that's going to change, but what's the problem with you? Last time I was here, I distinctly remember you devouring an entire happy meal in three minutes flat. Why give up on a record like that?"
Y/B/N just shrugged. "I dunno."
Kol squinted at him, frowning doubtfully. "B.S. detected, mate. Come on, what's wrong with making a sandwich?"
"It's exhausting," Your brother sighed. "And for some reason it takes forever. I don't feel that hungry so I just don't make anything. It didn't used to be so tiring but it is now. I don't know why."
"I see." The older boy nodded in understanding. "Well, how about this? When it's lunchtime, instead of putting together a sandwich, just eat some of the individual components. Oh, and don't forget to drink some water - it's important."
Y/B/N blinked at him, tilting his head. "Wait… what?"
"Dehydration sucks, kid, believe me." Your boyfriend took a bite of mac 'n cheese. "Why are you staring at me like that? Is there something you didn't catch?" He pressed with his mouth full.
"I can… I can eat the sandwich parts separately?" Y/B/N asked.
"Why not?" Kol shrugged. "I used to do it all the time after my parents passed.. " He paused. "You know, actually I still do… drives Elijah absolutely bonkers so that makes it all the more worth it."
Your brother still seemed shocked. "I just always thought it was some sort of unspoken rule, you know? Like, whole sandwich or nothing."
"This is why I'm going to rule the world someday," Kol declared. You snorted, grinning and this time, it was real.

"Turns out I miscalculated, Kol's gonna be a problem," Shane said, fingering the bloody hole in what had previously been his second favorite shirt.
"I almost killed someone and that's what you miscalculated?" Bonnie exclaimed, staring at him incredulously. "April could have died today!"
"That's only because you didn't know the extent of your abilities," He shrugged simply, resting his weight back on his desk. The witch couldn't believe him, it was almost as if something in her friend and mentor had flipped - like his near-death had him gunning for something but she couldn't guess what.
"My father just became mayor… I-I can't be out doing black magic-" She turned to go.
"That's not what Expression is!" Atticus called out to her. Bonnie hesitated at the door and, against her better judgment, turned back.
"It's a way of doing magic that isn't monitored by the spirits - it isn't good or bad," He explained. "But it also has no limits." The professor's eyes darkened as he stood. "So how you use it is up to you. That's what I'm here for. To help you." He approached her and Bonnie took a shuffling step back. It was like her eyes were fixed on him - she couldn't look away though she wanted to. She wanted to turn and run - this had gotten out of control.
"Bonnie, listen to me," Shane said. She couldn't provide a single reason why she did. "You are the key to everything. I'm not gonna let anything bad happen to you."
Bonnie nodded, feeling reassured despite the gnawing voice in her brain screaming that she shouldn't. "What do we need to do?" She asked.
Shane smiled almost knowingly before moving to sit behind his desk. He waved for Bonnie to sit across from him. "Well, Kol Mikaelson is probably the most dangerous of the original family - at least, to you specifically. We'll have to handle him delicately."
The young witch scoffed. "I've taken on Klaus, I'm pretty sure I can handle his baby brother."
"I have no doubts about your power, Bonnie," Shane sighed. "It's your inexperience that worries me."
She frowned. "Why should that matter?"
"Because Kol is a legend in the witching community - every coven has a story. He's spent the last thousand years traveling all around the world, studying every branch of witchcraft there's ever been. His knowledge of magic is expansive and twisted - a compendium of crazy you or I could never dream of." Shane ran a hand through his hair with a sigh. "Brute force isn't going to work, he knows how powerful your bloodline is so he'll try to remove that variable as soon as possible. He won't wait - he'll come at you fast and hard, and you'll be an ancestor before you can think of a spell to fight him."
"We have to strike first," She surmised.
"Exactly!" His lips twitched up in an unnerving smile. "But if we're gonna do this, we gotta fight dirty."
Bonnie frowned. She wasn't fond of the turn this conversation was taking. "What do you mean?"
"We can't beat him on a fair playing field, Bonnie. We can't play to his strengths, we have to target his weaknesses," Shane said.
Kol wouldn't stop coming until anyone interested in the cure was either dead or daggered. Bonnie's lips hardened into a thin line.
"Okay." She nodded. "What are his weaknesses?"
"That's the problem; I don't have an answer for you." Shane grimaced and leaned back in his chair, twirling a pencil between his fingers idly. "The stories characterize him as emotionally driven and impulsive, but I don't know how we'd play that in our favor without a hostage. I mean, the only people close to him as far as I can figure would be his family, but from what I saw today he doesn't seem too concerned about their well-being."
"And you said he has the white oak stake," She pointed out.
"And there's that, so its not like we could hurt any of them anyway."
Bonnie frowned, thinking. Something itched at the back of her mind but she couldn't put her finger on it. There was something she remembered seeing - an image - but it hadn't seemed important at the time. She stilled.
"What is it?" The professor asked.
"N-nothing. I don't think-" She hesitated, biting her lip. "I-It's just that I-"
Shane leaned forward. "Bonnie, if you know anything about this guy, you need to tell me," He stressed.
The witch looked down, playing with a loose strand on her sweater. "It was a couple of months ago - back before Alaric went crazy and Elena turned. I-I was walking down the street to the grill on the weekend and I passed by him. I remember being scared because he saw me and I'd heard about what he did to Matt, but he didn't do anything." She shook her head, still confused as to why he hadn't done anything to intimidate her like Klaus or Rebekah liked to. "H-he just nodded at me and continued on his way…"
Atticus raised a brow. "I think you lost me there… Why is that important?"
She blinked. "Because he was with someone," Bonnie realized, straightening up. "I remember now! There was a girl with him, h-he was holding her hand and smiling." That didn't mean much though, did it? Not when it was someone like Kol Mikaelson.
The Professor shrugged. "Well, that's not much but it's something, I guess. Does this girl have a name? Do you know her?"
Bonnie pursed her lips. "No… I-I don't really remember her face, I wasn't paying attention to her."
Shane hummed, nodding. "Not ideal, I'll admit. But if you're willing to trust me, I might have a way for us to find out."
"What is it?" She wondered, a little weary. The last time she'd used her magic, she'd nearly killed someone.
"It's a linking spell… of sorts," He answered. "It will allow you to see Kol's surroundings through his eyes. If this girl is important to him, this spell could give us a hint as to her identity or, at the very least, her location."
The girl shook her head, fear twisting in her gut. "I-I-I can't. I just-"
She felt a hand on her shoulder and glanced up to see Shane offering her a comforting smile. "I'll help you, Bonnie," He assured. "I'll guide you through it and I'll be here every step of the way. Alright?"
That was what he was here for. He wouldn't let anything bad happen to her. He had promised.
"Okay," Bonnie whispered.
The spell wasn't too complicated. The ingredients were relatively common and the incantation only took her a few minutes to master. She just hoped that she was doing the right thing.
"You can do this, Bonnie," Professor Shane encouraged. "Close your eyes and begin."
Taking a deep breath, the Bennett witch did as she was told, drawing on her Expression as she began to chant. The candles scattered on the floor around her flared bright and hot, yet she felt cold. She always felt cold when she used Expression.
"Very good. Now, focus on Kol Mikaelson, picture him in your mind, open yourself to the magic, and allow the spell to show him to you. Reach, look, and listen. Tell me what you see."
"It's… dark," Bonnie concluded.
"Focus."
"No no, I am focused. He's just in a dark room." She frowned, tilting her head. "He's looking at a t.v… I-I think he's playing a video game?" It was odd to think that a one-thousand-year-old serial killer would enjoy playing Star-Wars Battlefront, but Bonnie was pretty sure that was a poorly rendered Darth-Vader that she was seeing displayed on the screen. "It's a multiplayer game - split screen… There are two other people playing."
"Two?" Shane asked.
"Yes."
"What else do you see? Do you recognize the location?"
Bonnie shook her head. "No, it just looks like your standard living room. But it's not the mansion Klaus built, it's too small a-and there are picture frames, I think. He's not looking at them so it's hard to tell what those are but they look like picture frames, the family photo kind except somebody's knocked them all over…" She stopped. "Hold on."
"What? What do you see?"
"There's a backpack on the floor," She noticed. "It has a name on it."
"What name?"
"Y/B/N…" Bonnie muttered. "There's no last name."
"Well, that's interesting but not exactly helpful," Shane grumbled. "You have to go deeper, Bonnie. Listen. What's being said?"
The witch obeyed. She focused, losing herself. There were voices. Three voices.
"Why does Kol always get Public Enemy?" - The voice of a young boy.
"Because he's completely incapable of telling friend from foe." - The voice of a young woman, almost familiar.
"I see a head and I shoot it - simple as that." - The voice of an original vampire.
"Kol, you can't use the sniper on Dagobah."
"You play your way, I'll play mine. Wait a second is-is that a tank?"
"Indeed."
"Can I get in?"
"Gimme five bucks and it's a deal."
"Y/B/N! What did we say about haggling?!"
"Eat the rich!"
"Love the enthusiasm there, sport, but I think I'll have to decline. Also, love? Our daughter is crying."
"Dang it! Y/B/N, pause the game!"
Kol looked up then but all Bonnie could see was the back of a H/C haired girl rushing towards a set of stairs.
"Millie's not your kid," One of the voices said. Kol turned his eyes on a young boy who looked to be about twelve. He watched the vampire with an expression that was a mix of suspicion, curiosity, and confusion.
"You're right - she's not," Kol's voice agreed. "But your sister is pretty dead set on being that little girl's mum… and I'm pretty dead set on your sister."
"Do you actually mean that?" The young boy asked. "Or are you gonna leave again?"
Kol sighed. "I didn't want to leave."
The kid nodded. "She missed you while you were gone. She tried to act all okay, but she really wasn't."
"I missed her too."
"That's not what Mom and Dad said," The boy claimed, narrowing his eyes. "Mom and Dad said you don't really care about her - that you're just using her."
"Well, they were wrong." Kol's tone was adamant. "I love your sister very much… Probably more than I should."
"And you wanna help her take care of Millie?"
"If that's what she wants, then yes," Kol said. The sound of footsteps defending the stairs ended the conversation.
"Millie is okay - crisis averted!" The girl's voice cheered as she swung her weight around the banister. Kol looked up, focusing on her and, in the professor's office, Bonnie gasped. She knew that girl.
"Good to hear," Kol hummed. "One more thing before we start back up, however; Y/N, can I spend the night?"
Bonnie didn't maintain the spell long enough to hear the girl's reply. Her eyes shot open and she scrambled off the floor, gasping.
"Bonnie? Bonnie!" Atticus called her name. "Breathe, Bonnie. Breathe. Calm your mind… What did you see?"
"I-I-I saw her," The witch stammered. "I-I saw the girl but I-" She looked up with green eyes as round as saucers. "Professor, I know her."
"You do? Who is she?" He asked.
"Her name's Y/N Y/L/N. She goes to my school, o-or she did. She graduated last year," She answered. "Her parents were on the founder's council and her dad was a deputy, I think. She's been taking care of her brother since the explosion. That's where Kol was - he was at her house."
"I see," Shane nodded. "Does she know anything?"
"I-I don't know. I don't think so."
"So why was Kol there?" He wondered.
Bonnie frowned. "I think he might be dating her…"
"That's a little sick, but go on."
"Well, I heard him tell Y/N's little brother that he loves her…" The witch trailed off.
Shane clapped his hands, grinning. "Excellent job, Bonnie Bennett. You just got us exactly what we needed."
"B-but he could have been lying, so-"
"Why would he lie if he could just compel?" He pointed out. "We'll have to wait until he leaves her… then we'll hold Y/N hostage and get Kol to back off."
"Wait, what?!" Bonnie spluttered.
"This is what you agreed to, isn't it?"
"That was before I knew who she was!" She argued. "I can't kidnap her!"
"Why not?" Shane demanded.
"Because she's innocent! Me, Elena, and Caroline used to play with Y/N at founder's meetings all the time! She snuck us cookies from the refreshments table and taught us how to paint each other's nails… She's a good person, not to mention her parents just died!" Bonnie shook her head. "How can I do something like that to her?"
"To stop your friends from getting hurt," He replied. "This has to be done. Besides, you'll probably be doing Y/N a favor."
"What?"
The professor shrugged. "Remember what you told me Damon Salvatore did to your friend Caroline? How he treated her when she was human?" She nodded slowly. "Well, I'd bet good money that whatever Kol is doing to this poor girl is a thousand times worse. You won't be harming her, Bonnie… You'll be liberating her."
Shane was right. Kol was evil.
"So, we'll be doing this tomorrow then?"
"Right." He smiled. "Have a good night, Bonnie."
"You too."
And Bonnie Bennett left the office of Atticus Shane with all but her heart convinced that she was doing the right thing.
***
Kol had spent his morning taking care of a bar full of newly turned vampires. He'd slaughtered all of them and then, as an extra treat, he'd gotten to beat Damon Salvatore to a pulp before compelling him to kill Jeremy Gilbert so he wouldn't have to. Overall, he was having a really good day. All that fun and it was only ten in the morning!
However, he'd promised you he wouldn't be gone long and when Kol made a promise, he kept it. So instead of finding himself a hard drink or an unfortunate local, he made his way back to your house. He took his usual route, an extraordinarily confusing and frustrating ritual of twists turns and loops through several nearby neighborhoods that he deemed thorough enough to lose or discourage anyone who might consider tailing him. When one had lived alongside a paranoid bastard like Klaus for as many years as Kol had, one learned to be a paranoid bastard himself simply for the sake of some privacy. Kol had promised to keep you out of Mikaelson Family drama, so he was careful.
Evidently, he had not been careful enough.
A bolt of fear shot through him as he took in the state of your front door. The thing was laying halfway up the stairs, having been blown completely off its hinges. Kol passed over the threshold silently, moving to inspect the damage in hopes of determining the culprit. His eyes scanned briefly over the door and its frame; no cracks in the wood, no signs of anything being used to ram the thing open. The door itself had just been blown backward as if by…
As if by Magic.
A harsh, animalistic growl tore from Kol's throat as he stood, clenching his teeth.
Magic = Bennett witch.
He stood and continued his search through the house on silent feet, moving first through the kitchen, then the formal dining room. There wasn't much to be found. Nothing appeared to be broken or tampered with, yet you were missing. If someone had taken you, where was the ransom note? He moved on; looking, listening, tasting the air for any sign of-
Blood.
Moving faster than he ever had in his life, Kol dashed up the stairs to the origin of the enticing scent. The guest bedroom turned nursery for sweet little Millie. There, he was met with a sight that turned even his stomach.
Dark, dripping letters marred the wall in front of him, positioned ominously over the white bassinet you had arranged in the room. He'd found the ransom note.
WHITMORE
The crimson stain read.
As soon as he caught sight of it, he couldn't bring himself to tear his eyes away. He could hear his own heartbeat pounding in his chest, much too loud and racing faster as he realized that you might not be okay. His breaths, usually mostly calm no matter the situation, picked up yet he felt as though he wasn't getting enough air. Something clawed at his chest, rendering his muscles stiff and his throat dry and Kol didn't know what the hell that feeling was, but he didn't like it. He didn't like anything about this. Where were you?
That ugly red stain on the wall taunted him. He knew what it was… whose it was.
Kol had tasted your blood before, he would recognize that scent anywhere because you had always smelled something like herbal tea with honey - warm and sweet. That was your blood so where the bloody hell were you?
Millie was gone too, as evidenced by the empty cradle. Bonnie Bennett was the only witch in town and she may have been an annoying pestilence but she and her friends were all stubborn do-gooders. She wouldn't stoop so low as to kidnap a baby, unless…
Unless someone had convinced her it was the right thing to do. Just as someone had convinced her to practice Expression.
Atticus Shane.
The bloody mad professor was the only explanation. He'd taken you as revenge for the original vampire's attempt on his life.
Kol tore his hands through his hair and gasped for breath, letting loose a string of curses in every language he knew. You were right! He never should have come back. You had been better off on your own. This was his fault.
The rustling of paper caught his attention. Wind from the open window must have made the noise; it came from the direction of the cradle. Wandering over there, Kol caught sight of a torn piece of paper that lay tucked neatly into baby Millie's blanket. In the cramped, untidy scrawl of a mad man was written one more note, left just in case the message on the wall wasn't enough to paint a clear picture.
"Shhhhhhh… The baby is sleeping. Surrender or your girls will never wake again."
Kol dropped that note like fire from his fingers and he ran.
***
Getting kidnapped sucked.
You couldn't believe that Bonnie freaking Bennett, the quiet girl you used to tutor, had actually blown your door off its hinges and tossed you around with magic before taking you hostage. What had you ever done to her? You weren't sure what the deal was. No one knew you were dating Kol - at least, no one of consequence. Until now apparently. What else could anyone want from you?
"What you're saying is impossible, Shane!" Bonnie's voice argued from somewhere in front of you.
"Nothing is impossible, Bonnie." That voice belonged to a man, you'd heard it before when you'd been taken. "You of all people should know that by now."
Bonnie huffed. "Vampires are dead. They can't have children. She can't be Kol's daughter - it's impossible!"
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Were they talking about you? Gross! Why would they…
Wait…
Millie!
"Think about it, Bonnie," The other voice coaxed - Bonnie had called him Shane. "If you were carrying the child of a mass murdering psychotic, would you tell anyone? Or would you make up every excuse in the book to make sure no one ever figured out the truth?"
His comments seemed to give the witch pause. You couldn't let them hurt Millie.
"She… she's not his," You croaked, struggling to sit upright. "She's not his… I swear. I swear she's not."
You forced your eyes open and instantly regretted it. Light seared your retinas and you groaned, flinching. After a moment, the pain subsided and you glanced up at your captors. Bonnie and a scraggly lookin' dude stood over you. Millie rested happily in Bonnie's arms, content to blow little spit bubbles while being blissfully unaware of her situation. You wished you were her.
Taking in your surroundings, you figured you were sitting in an office of some kind. There was a desk flanked by two chairs and a window behind that. The room felt stuffy and full of old stuff so you figured this must be Whitmore College. Ugh.
"Sorry, sweetheart but, uh, I don't believe you!" Shane said, casting you a fake pitiful glance.
"You really should, you know," A voice drawled lazily from the door. "I mean, little Millie doesn't even look like me… alright maybe a little but that's hardly a bad thing, right love?"
Kol's eyes met yours and you instantly relaxed. He was here. If he was here, you were safe. In his eyes, there was something swirling and black that promised death but it didn't scare you. It didn't scare you because you knew that he was on your side - nothing bad would ever happen to you as long as Kol was around.
You spoke too soon.
Shane latched onto your arm and dragged you to stand in front of him. Before you knew it there was a knife poised in front of your throat - ready to do something you wouldn't like. Kol's whole body stiffened and Bonnie cried out.
"Glad to see you could make it!" Shane barked. "You know what I want. Sure would be a shame if Y/N here had to die on your account." The knife dug into your neck and you hissed in pain. Kol snarled - eyes alight with fury. When he spoke, his tone was slick and cold like ice.
"I will say this once, and once only… let my girls go and I'll grant you a quick death." You didn't often see this side of him - the one thousand-year-old prodigal witch. The side of him that tears an opposing force to shreds all with that calm, playful grin dancing across his lips.
"Shane!" Bonnie hissed. "This isn't what we agreed on."
Shane pressed the knife against your throat with renewed vigor and you yelped. "Sometimes you gotta play dirty, Bonnie," He raved, chuckling like a psych ward patient. "This is how you win against things like him. You can't reason with a maniac."
Kol's eyes darkened and he cocked his head. "Oh, I quite agree." He smirked. "You have five seconds to let Y/N go before I kill you."
"I'd slit her throat before you got the chance," The professor claimed.
"Be my guest," Kol hummed with a wave of his hand. His eyes were sharp. "Let's see who's faster… One."
"Shane…" Bonnie warned.
"He wouldn't dare," Shane said. He sounded assured but you knew better.
"Two…"
Bonnie tugged at Shane's arm to no avail. "Come on, professor. We'll find another way, just let her go!"
"NO!"
"Three…"
You felt an arm wind around your waist before you could blink and a gust of wind stung your eyes. Shane screamed. You blinked rapidly, trying to clear the tears so you could see what was going on. Kol held you against his side and in front of you, Shane collapsed to his knees, clutching a hand that no longer looked like a hand. It had been twisted so far at the wrist that you could see bone sticking out. Beside you, Kol laughed lightly. In his fingers, he twirled the knife that only moments before had been poised to slit your throat.
"Who would have thought, darling? Looks like I'm faster." He grinned, spinning the knife around and around. He spared you a glance, flicking his eyes over your figure to check for injuries. "Are you alright, love?"
A little shocked, you nodded. He raised a brow questioningly. "I'm fine," You assured him.
Evidently, that was all he needed to hear.
He tugged you further behind him and leveled a chilling glare on Shane, who remained gasping on the floor. "Your turn." Kol knelt down and readied the knife with a grin that was nothing short of terrifying. He caught Shane by the throat and stood to his full height, lifting the mad professor off the ground with little effort before throwing him down onto his own desk. The hand on his throat kept him pinned as Kol impaled the knife through each shoulder, twisting for good measure. Then the original vampire started carving. Five letters across the professor's chest.
T-H-I-E-F
A blood-curdling scream ripped from Shane's throat with each letter and your stomach almost twisted in sympathy. But no. He had taken Millie. He deserved everything he got.
While your boyfriend was handling that, you twisted on your heel to face the young witch, holding out your arms. "Give me back my baby," You demanded. Bonnie stumbled back, gaping. Her eyes flicked between you and Kol in utter disbelief but you didn't particularly care what she thought. "That wasn't a request, Bonnie."
"Hand over the child, Bennett witch," Kol reinforced, not bothering to take his eyes off Shane.
"Y-you said five seconds!" She sputtered. Kol shrugged.
"I changed my mind!" He dismissed casually. Then he flicked his wrist and sent the knife straight into Shane's left eye. The corpse twitched for a moment then lay still. You cringed at the bloody sight but forced your attention back to the high school student and the baby in her arms. Millie was crying.
"Bonnie, I know this wasn't your idea and I know that the only reason you went along with it is because you're scared. That being said, that's my baby girl you're holding and I want her back. Whatever querell you have with Kol has nothing to with her, so give her back right this instant or I swear to high heaven, you will regret it." You glared at her, raising a brow.
Bonnie's eyes narrowed, flicking between you and your boyfriend accusingly. "He was right," She mumbled.
You took a step forward, gritting your teeth. "Bonnie, don't. This isn't what your father would want."
The witch took a reflexive step back. "Shane was right, wasn't he?" She demanded, a little louder. "This is his child, you've just been covering it up!"
Kol rolled his eyes. "For the last time Bennett, vampire's are incapable of having biological children, alright? That child is Millie Stoker by birth, Y/N's second cousin. Her parents were on what was formerly this town's secret counsel. The same counsel - as luck would have it - that your darling absent-minded professor blew to kingdom come a few months back."
Ah… so it was him, was it? Your eyes flicked to the bloody corpse laying on the desk and your jaw locked.
"No!" Bonnie gasped, her eyes flying wide. "You're lying! Shane would never-"
"I'm not here to debate with you, Bennett." Kol's expression held no sympathy - just cold detachment. The only reason that girl wasn't dead was because she was holding Millie. "Now hand over the child and we'll see if I'm feeling merciful."
You held up a hand, eyes still trained on the body of your parent's murderer. "Wait." Kol raised a brow and you pointed. "You said he's the one who killed Mom and Dad?"
"Yes," The boy confirmed, nodding.
"Can I see that knife?" Your tone was emotionless. You felt Kol's bloodied hand slip into yours. His thumb spread the substance over the back of your hand but you didn't care.
"Darling… he's dead," Kol murmered.
"I know that." You nodded. "Can I see that knife please?" He hesitated but pressed the weapon wirelessly into your hand a moment later. You gripped it tight and stepped over to the desk.
Shane lay there. Dead.
"This isn't for me," You said, glaring down at the corpse. "This is for Millie, and Y/B/N and everything you stole from them. This is for the empty seats that'll be at Y/B/N's graduation and all the Christmases and Birthdays Millie was supposed to have with her real family." You took a shuddering breath, glancing at the nameplate sitting on the professor's desk. "This isn't for me, because I'll be fine on my own. This is for being a thief, Atticus Shane. This is simply what you're owed."
You didn't yell or scream or cry. You just drew the blade across his neck, solemnly and silently, cutting to bone and letting the blood pool around the corpse and spill off the edge of the desk to the ground. Then you grabbed it by the shirt and pulled. The body slid to the ground with a wet squelch - face down in the dirt and dust where it belonged.
You blinked, turned on your heel, and smiled.
"You know, I really think I needed that!" You announced, pushing the hair out of your face with a blood-soaked hand. Kol just stared at you, clueless as to what should be said. You simply shrugged. "Desecrating the bodies of murderers is therapeutic, I guess. Anyway, back to you Bonnie."
The young witch seemed even more baffled. "B-but I… I thought-" She shook her head, blinking rapidly.
"You thought I was being compelled." You finished, softening your tone. She was just a teenager, after all. The girl nodded glancing between you and the baby she held. You nodded in understanding. "You really trusted this professor guy, huh?"
Bonnie nodded hesitantly. "H-He said… He told me Kol was using you for sport or something really messed up like that."
"Oh…" You blinked and glanced at Kol, thoroughly disgusted.
The boy blanched and shook his head vigorously. "Woah, woah! Don't look at me! I have more confidence in myself than that!"
You chuckled at his attempted defense and turned back to Bonnie. "While I appreciate the concern, Bonnie, as you can see, I'm fine. Now please give Millie back to me." You held out your hands again, this time with a more teasing expression. "I've been working on my Mom Voice; don't make me use it."
"Oh, anything but that," Kol muttered under his breath. You elbowed him in the side and he smiled wryly.
Bonnie watched the original wearily as she passed Millie back to you. Once she was safely in your arms again, your cheeks split with a radiant grin. You turned away and lifted Millie into the air, giving her an Eskimo kiss to make her giggle. Behind you, Kol took a threatening step toward the witch.
"Uhh… Y/N?" Bonnie called out, voice strained.
"He won't do anything," You tossed over your shoulder, unconcerned.
"I won't?" Kol asked.
"No, you will not."
"What if I really want to?"
"You will refrain or you will be sleeping alone tonight," You declared calmly. "She's just a kid, Kol."
He scoffed. "Where I'm from, I was an adult at thirteen."
"Yes," You acknowledged, "However, this is the twenty-first century and Viking traditions are no longer observed. Bonnie is still legally a child, she was scared and she didn't know any better. She will not attempt such a vile and degraded scheme ever again. Isn't that right, Bonnie?"
"Y-yeah, I…" She shook her head as if trying to clear something from her mind. "I-I don't even know why I went along with this in the first place… Y/N?" When you glanced back at her, the girl's eyes were filled with tears. "I'm really sorry," She said.
You nodded and offered her a small smile. "I forgive you."
"Well, I don't!" Kol supplied, moving to take your hand.
"Yeah, I know." You smirked, shifting Millie to one arm so you could accept. He pulled you towards the door. "See you later, Bonnie!" You called back.
"Not if I can help it," Your boyfriend grumbled, tugging you down the hall before the girl could say anything.
"Which you can't."
Once you were outside the building, Kol stopped and faced you. His hands moved to your arms, thumbs tracing invisible patterns over the skin. His eyes weren't cold when they looked at you - they weren't the cold, black eyes of a one thousand-year-old vampire. They were those warm, amber eyes of the most reliable friend you'd ever had. So when he opened his mouth to speak, you already knew what he was going to say.
"Y/N, I'm so sorry. You were right, I-"
"No, I wasn't." You cut him off with a smile.
He frowned, brows furrowed in confusion. "Yes, you were. I should have stayed away, you were better off without me," He insisted.
"No, Kol. I really wasn't." You laughed, shaking your head. "I was a mess in pretty much every sense of the word. Hell, I still am mostly. I needed you, but I was just too stubborn to admit it."
"You've never needed me," Kol whispered. He leaned in, resting his forhead against yours. "No one ever does. Wherever I go, chaos follows. Whatever I touch, falls apart. If it wasn't for me-"
"I would have died with my parents," You stated firmly. Kol blinked, reeling back a bit.
"No, darling. That's not-"
"Yes, it is." You shook your head, shrugging. "That Shane guy would have blown up the counsel no matter what; his actions wouldn't have changed had you never taken me on that first date. Sure, if you and I had never dated, than no one would have even thought to kidnap me. But now that someone knows about us, the only thing leaving me is gonna do is put me in more danger."
"Y/N-" He tried. But you weren't having any of that.
"If not for you, I would have died with my parents in that explosion. I would have followed their blind hatred for the supernatural right to their deaths because you're the one who changed my mind, Kol." You grinned at him and squeezed his hand. "That was you."
"Well, I am irresistibly charming…" He smiled wryly.
You rolled your eyes and grabbed his collar, pulling him down so you shut him up with a kiss. He instantly reciprocated, moving his hands to your hips and squeezing a little more firmly than he usually did just to remind himself that you were okay. You kissed him harder to say you weren't going anywhere. Pulling away much too soon for his liking, you adjusted your hold on Millie and tried to move away but Kol tugged you closer and chased your lips for more. You indulged him until you needed air.
"You know, I may be fine on my own but I really like having you around, Koala," You whispered against his lips as you caught your breath. "Think you can help me fix the front door?"
Kol just shrugged, nipping at your lips with a cheeky grin. "Who needs it?"
"I do." You gave him one more peck and pulled away, giving him your best pleading eyes. He sighed.
"Darling, you can't just scare me half back to life and then expect me not to kiss you senseless," He complained.
"I think you can handle it," You teased, smirking.
"Mmm. I don't want to, though."
You couldn't even complain as Kol crashed his lips into yours again - this time with no intention to stop. The sound of someone clearing their throat startled you enough to break apart. Standing in the doorway of your house with an aluminum baseball bat in his hands and nothing short of panic in his wild E/C eyes, was your little brother. He seemed pretty miffed.
"Would y'all care to stop making out and tell me what the hell is going on?!"
You looked back up at Kol. "This one's all yours."
He paled. "It's your family legacy, darling. I think you should do it."
"Yeah, but you're covered in blood."
"Touchè…"

This is the last completed chapter. Still debating on whether or not to post the incomplete chapter.
previous chapter is here.
Heros & Villains chapter 9 word count: 1,364
~-~-~
He'd taken a nap after his meal. Though now awake, Jackie continued working on combing through his hair. Not long after he started, he noted that the door remained cracked open, and briefly wondered as he untangled an especially stubborn knot, if that was just because of the cat. He honestly wouldn't be surprised. Finally, he managed to finish combing his hair out. Jackie cradled his right arm. It was aching from the repetitive movements.
“Your arm okay?” Jackie jerked his attention to the door to see Magnificent. When Jackie didn't respond right away, Magnificent spoke again. “Sorry, should have knocked.” Then promptly knocked on the door frame. “Your arm okay?” he repeated his question.
Jackie snorted in response. Then, as he looked down to his arm, said, “It's just sore.” Magnificent stepped into the room. Jackie shot a glance over at him for a second. Then picked up the tray with his left hand and held it out to him. He knew the routine by this point. Magnificent gave him a quick smile in thanks as he took the tray. He was almost to the door when Jackie decided to speak up. “I was thinking I'd take a shower today.”
Magnificent paused. “You think that's a good idea?” he asked, then looked back at him. “With your injuries still healing.”
“I...” Jackie sighed as he recalled Henrik telling him to take it easy. “I don't know. I just want to clean myself up.”
He watched Jackie for a moment. Then shrugged and turned away. “Just don't injure yourself. Washcloth and towels are in the next door over,” he told him as he headed out the door.
Great. Now he was second guessing his shower plans. Maybe... maybe he was right. Both of them. Maybe he should put off taking an actual shower. He still wanted to but... maybe just hot water and a washcloth should work for now. Jackie mulled over it a bit as he turned to look outside. Give his arm a little more time to rest.
Eventually Jackie got up and headed to the door. He paused, half-expecting there to be a barrier as he left the room. There wasn't. Opening the first door he came to, confirmed what Magnificent told him. After choosing a red washcloth, Jackie hesitated when grabbing a towel. Should he just get one of the small hand towels since he wasn't taking a shower? Or should he still get one of the full towels since he'll probably take a shower in a couple days? Jackie glanced down the hall, hoping he wasn't being judged for his indecisiveness. No one was watching; not even the cat. Turning back to the towel closet, he took a second longer before grabbing the full-sized black towel and shut the door.
Stepping into the bathroom, Jackie shut and locked the door. Then wondered if Magnificent would be able to still come in using his magic. Though he doubted he actually would, even if he could. He looked at the mirror. His heart pounded so hard he could physically feel it as he reached up to remove his mask. Its been days since the last time he hadn't worn it. And, considering where he was, he was a little nervous to be without it. But it was also a relief to be able to take it off for even a little while.
Jackie turned on the faucet and, after leaning forward far enough that he was over the sink, splashed some water in his face. He turned the hot water up a little then looked around for the soap. There was some body wash in the tub but no bar of soap. “Well, hope he doesn't mind.” After squeezing some of the body wash onto the wet washcloth, Jackie proceeded to wash his face. He used mostly his left hand since certain motions with his right still hurt.
He paused when he was almost done and eyed the door with caution, and a little anxiety, when he thought he heard something. Could have been the cat. Or Magnificent. Probably his imagination. Jackie finished wiping the suds from his face with the hot cloth before rinsing the cloth and hanging it over the faucet head. It started to drip the excess water into the sink. He did a quick drying of his hands and face before folding the towel and setting it aside. Feeling refreshed, he was a little discouraged having to put his mask back on. But there was no way he was leaving this room without it back on his face. So, reluctantly, he retied the mask over his eyes before he left the room.
It wasn't long after he settled himself back into bed that Magnificent came back to the room. Jackie was curious, and a little confused by the man's appearance. It's unusual for him to come in other then for meals. Instinctively he brought up his guard as Magnificent walked right up to the bed. “Here.” Magnificent stated as he held out a book.
Jackie blinked as he shifted his attention down to the book being held out to him. A little hesitant he accepted it. “What's this?” he asked as he glanced up at him.
“Entertainment.” Their eyes met for just a second before Jackie looked down at the book in his hands. “You said you wanted something to do. To pass the time.”
“Oh right. Thank you.” He didn't want to turn down, or come off as unappreciative, for the offer of entertainment. What if this was the only time he would offer something? He'd be stuck with nothing.
Magnificent turned away but didn't leave. Instead he spoke up. “I.. haven't read it yet. Let me know what you think.” Jackie looked up as he left. Was he...? Was he trying to connect with him? Turning his attention back to the book in his hands he looked it over. The cover had five guys, fantasy warriors from the look of it, four who looked on the older side while the fifth looked maybe half their age. The book looked on the thicker side. He flipped it open to the end. 492 pages. That could take awhile. Maybe that was why he gave it to him. Jackie checked the back to read the synopsis. Huh. Was this what Magnificent thought he would like? Jackie wondered as he looked at the cover again. Well, he might not be wrong. Jackie was curious enough to find out as he opened it to the first page.
He just got to the last page of the first chapter when he spotted Magi walking in. Pausing his reading Jackie watched as the cat sat in the middle of the room and stared at him. “Hi there.” Magi let out a little meow as he got up and walked over hopping up on the bed. He kneeded for a moment before laying down against his leg purring softly. Jackie turned his attention back to the book.
Jackie made it almost to the end of chapter six before he felt himself struggle to keep focused. His eyes were starting to droop. He blinked a few times trying to wake them up and tried again. When he made it to the next page he let out a yawn. How long was this chapter? Flipping the page, he realized he was almost done. He can make it. He can, he just needed to... rest his head back against the headboard with his eyes closed. The chapter was almost done. It was just two more pages. He just needed to focus. Let his eyes rest a moment, not fall asleep, and finish it. With a deep breath, Jackie shifted his position slightly as he straightened up. Magi was sleeping on the bed. He'd been so focused on the book that he'd forgotten the cat had come in. So far it good; even though not much has happened yet, despite being fifty pages in. Looking down at page fifty-one he murmured, “Okay.” He was going to finish this.

You didn't mean to have a nap waiting for people to return, but unfortunately you did. Naps usually gave you headaches if you fell asleep without actually being tired, so you prayed this wouldn't be the case today.
That almost confirms it to you that you need either a hobby or a way to visit Mos Espa easier and spend some time outside the Palace to entertain yourself between shifts.
Are they back yet? You wonder to yourself. Walking out your door and wandering down the corridor to try to hear if anyone was around, focusing hard. Then there it was, the slam of a cell door and Fennec's voice in the distance say ''have fun in there.''
Did they bring back a prisoner? But why? Who would they need to imprison here?
Could it be the mayor? Would they really arrest the mayor?
Does Fett even have the right to arrest people?
Now you were debating whether you should have left your room or not, unknowing if there was a possible dangerous prisoner in the Palace now.
You take a deep breath in, go to turn to leave back to your room when you hear someone coming out a door at the end of the corridor, muttering ''kaysh mirsh solus'' quietly to themselves. Then you see Lord Fett appear out of the door, with a hand resting on his head.
His head shots up and turns to you as your boots squeak on the floor after your body halted, echoing down the corridor. His helmet is back on, meaning you're unaware of how his face was expressed, not knowing if he is annoyed you're there or not.
It felt odd now knowing what he looked like under that helmet, how he actually looks, that your brain couldn't connect them being the same person.
You open your mouth to apologise for seeming to be nosey before he speaks first. ''Hello again, mesh'la'' coming towards you.
''How did your meeting with the mayor go, sir?'' You ask, ignoring your nervousness of him walking towards you.
A small scoff comes from under his helmet as he says ''never had one, he has already gone to hide with the Pykes. We've got his di'kutla majordomo locked up, probably won't be much use though.''
At least you didn't need to ask many of your earlier questions since he has just answered them for you. ''Can you do that? You know, since he is the mayor's mayjordomo'' you ask.
Fett is now in front of you, the helmet making you feel so small. ''Are you questioning my authority, little one?'' There's an annoyance in his voice, your body tenses up out of embarrassment.
''N-no sir, not at all, I-I just wasn't sure how it all worked. I'm sorry-''
Before you can carry on his fingers are resting on your chin as he presses on your lips with his thumb, shutting you up. ''Need you to shut that pretty mouth of yours, before you say something dumb'' his voice is so low now.
There was no way in telling if he was annoyed at you or not. Not knowing if you had insulted him or if he was just teasing you. Regardless you let out a heavy breath through your nose, melting under him from his touch, staring directly into the black visor.
''Seeing as I am Daimyo, I can do whatever I please if it goes against my rule. My rule being respect, and the mayor clearly has little respect for me. So I can imprison his mayjordomo to state a point to him. Do I need to explain myself further to you, or can your silly little brain take all that information in?''
Legs pressing together before you can force them not to, the slight degrading from him made your pussy clench around nothing. You nod, unable to speak as his thumb is still pressed against your lips.
He is just staring at you, you want to know what he is thinking, as you know he saw your legs press together. Wanting to know if he would ever do anything to your reactions, if he would give you want he knew you wanted.
The thumb leaves your lips, he then spins your bodies so you're facing the empty corridor towards the kitchen, with your back against his chest. His hand places on your neck, adding a slight pressure and cutting off air as his cold helmet rests next to your ear.
''Be a good girl and go do your shift, before I decide to not accept your apology.''
When his hand leaves your neck your legs move quickly to the kitchen, not daring to look back. You can hear his feet behind you, a bit of fear creeping in wondering where he was going, but then you hear him ascend the steps into the throne room.
How had you gone from your encounter with him last night where he was calling you 'eager' and clearly trying to turn you on, to you being an idiot and insulting him, but yet he was still slightly teasing you.
Maker this shift was going to be tough, your pussy was begging for attention. At least your headache didn’t stay.
****
You'd managed to not see Lord Fett for about two days, scared to see him out of fear of embarrassment from insulting him.
As you emerged from the kitchen from cleaning the Mods lunch dishes you see Fennec come down the corridor, heading towards the throne room. ''Haven't seen you in a few days, everything okay?'' Fennec asked with a warm smile on her face.
''Oh yeah, I guess... I'm not sure'' you reply coming towards her. She gave you a puzzled look, stopping her walk as you reach her. ''Did something happen?''
''I don't know, the other day when you brought in the mayors majordomo I bumped into Lord Fett and he told me about the arrest. I asked if he could do that as I don't really understand the politics on this planet, but I think he thought I was questioning his role and insulted him'' you answered.
Fennec stood there and took in your answer for a minute, then responded ''that man is something I'll tell you that, I'm sure he knows you never meant it in a disrespectful way. He likes loyalty, a lot, so when someone questions pretty much anything he does he doesn't respond in the best way.''
''I did try to apologise, but he kind of... stopped me'' you say and her puzzled look returns.
''Have you not spoken to him since?''
Shaking your head no, ''hence why you haven't seen me.''
''Well, I'm currently on my way up to speak to him now, do you want me to mention it to him?'' She asks, and you give it a wonder.
Her asking would make it easier for you as it was one less thing for you to worry over, but you felt it seemed weird for her to bring it up to him and not you. ''Maybe, but can you not say I spoke to you, l-like maybe just say you haven't seen me around recently or something. I don't want anything to feel.. weird.''
She nods, gives your arm a stoke and heads up towards Fett's quarters.
You felt like some weight has been lifted off your chest as you head towards your room. Thankful that Fennec has offered to clear this kind of, obviously she doesn't know that he did 'technically' accept your apology as you went to your shift that night like he told you to. Giving you that small praise beforehand.
Suddenly Drash passes the end of the corridor with her speeders keys in her hand. She spots you and says ''hi'' with a small smile on her face.
''Hey, you off to patrol again?'' You ask. The Mods have been patrolling Mos Espa recently, trying to spot any Pyke activity and trying to find the mayor. ''Not today, I was just going into town to grab some bits'' she responds. Her voice was so pretty to listen to, she had this accent that stood out so much and it was so nice to hear.
''Mind if I come with? I've been trying to figure a way to travel out of the Palace'' you ask.
She nods and gestures to follow her. When you reach the garage she hands you a pair of goggles to protect your eyes from any sand that would get into them when you zoom over the sea. You get onto the back of her speeder bike, and her hands grab yours to place them around her waist.
''Hold on'' she says before you head out the Palace.
The bike was faster than you anticipated, you weren't used to this type of transport. However it was smooth, you assume Drash and the other Mods probably modify their bikes as it would make sense, especially since they were decorated too. They probably held so much pride in their bikes.
The whole journey you keep your mouth tucked into your top to avoid sand getting into it, but your eyes are just wandering, taking in the views.
Mos Espa came into view, it felt to weird coming back here. It had been almost two weeks since you were last here, and this place felt like a stranger to you now. You wonder how much has changed, or if anything had changed at all.
''Anywhere you practically want to go?'' Drash asks as you slow down on the edge of town, pulling her goggles off her head.
''Just the markets really, but I'd like to visit the Sanctuary for a little and see Garsa'' you answer. Your stomach begins to bubble, excited to see her again.
As you're slowly driving through Mos Espa you lifted your goggles over your eyes and clipped them to the top of your pants
Drash parks up in front of the Sanctuary, meaning you were going there first. As you got off the bike you just stared at the building, wanting to know how different everything would be, wondering if anyone missed you.
You entered alone, Drash declining to come with you and staying with her bike. Everything was the same here, Max and the band was playing, droids carried drinks on their trays, your old co-workers working hard.
As you head towards the bar to ask for a drink you hear your name called from that same beautiful voice that was your ex-boss. You turn around and give her a big smile, she rushes over to you and pulls you into a hug.
''Oh my, it's so lovely to see you, how are you my dear?'' Garsa asks, your arms wrapping around her. ''I'm good, how are you?''
''Doing better seeing you'' she says pulling back, her hands resting on your arms, that smile still plastered on her face.
''I missed you, I miss it here to be honest'' you say. Her smiles drops a little and her gaze changes as she asks ''are they not treating you well there? Is everything okay?''
You give her a reassuring smile and shake your head, ''no, no, that's not the case at all. I actually enjoy it there, I just miss working with others and speaking with you.'' A sigh of relief leaves her, her smiles reappears.
She heads over to the bar and gets a drink sorted for you both, then the pair of you head into the back to her office. You take a moment to look at what she is wearing, she was wearing this beautiful white dress that showed off her breasts, with white fabric wrapped around her head tails. She looked absolutely stunning.
Not that she didn't always, but it was also a rare sight for her to have her chest out. You wonder what made her feel more confident than usual.
''So, any interesting gossip?'' She asks with a smirk on her face as you both sit at her desk.
''Well, Mistress Shand doesn't seem to have a partner as there is no one she spends her time with'' you inform her and the smirk grows as she picks up her drink, ''however I can't tell if Lord Fett has an interest in me though.''
Garsa stops sipping her drink and turns to you with wide eyes, ''seriously? Please, do tell.''
You giggle at her interest, deciding to finally tell her all your encounters with Fett. Starting with the party incident to what happened earlier with Fennec. Garsa starts to understand why you were so quiet after the party, which makes you feel less guilty about her feeling bad. She seemed to agree that Fett clearly had some interest, but seemed concerned he may just be leading you on for his own entertainment, almost like you worried he was.
She also did warn you to be careful, because not only was he your boss, but also the Daimyo and an ex-bounty hunter. She seemed worried that he might screw you over, and didn't want him to hurt you by abusing his power.
It was something you needed to take into consideration if he was truly into you.
After a little while you inform her you probably should go as Drash was waiting outside, which then she suggested that she could leave her bike round the side and it would be safe here. So before you left you told Drash this and she agreed, seeing as it would be easier for her then parking it outside the markets.
''Well, I hope you have a lovely shopping day, and if I don't see you later before you head back to the Palace, then I hope everything continues to go well. I'm still so proud of you, and I hope you come to visit again soon'' Garsa says with that warm, beautiful smile on her face.
You give her another hug before departing with Drash and searching the stalls together.
The air is full of the smells of different fruits, some catching your interests and wanting to try some. You had never really bought any of them before due to not wanting to waste money, but since you didn't need to pay for your meals anymore thanks to living at the Palace why not treat yourself.
Drash is looking at a table full of necklaces holding silver trophies on them, she picks one up to show you and you examine it. It was short and had a small cone shape hanging off it. ''It would suit you'' she said quietly, her hands running back over the necklaces, finding one for herself.
You held it between your fingers, it was pretty, but would you ever need to wear it? You hadn't had a need for these types of accessories for years, maybe it was worth treating yourself more today?
So you decide to buy it, while Drash herself buys a few leather bracelets and silver rings, picking some up for the other Mods too.
It had been so long since you last looked at the stalls here, it was before Fett and Fennec arrived, as you were overworking at the Sanctuary out of fear of war kicking off. You were trying to hide there almost, it was your safest place.
Yet now you knew there was something happening with the Pykes, unsure if it would be war, and here you where. Wandering around the markets, outside the safe Palace.
Well, you knew it wasn't that safe now since the attack the other night.
''What do you think?'' Drash asks you snapping you out your thoughts, holding a black corset style top. It fitted her style so you encouraged her to get it.
It was odd how quickly you two seemed to be bonding, glad to be making some kind of friend in the Palace. Someone close to your own age too.
Time passed before you knew it and the twin suns had set.
You knew you needed to get back soon as your shift was in the next hour, so you both headed back to her bike at the Sanctuary.
As you turn the last corner you see Krrsantan standing there, facing the door of the Sanctuary, someone stood in front of him.
Your feet stilled, you were aware Fennec and Fett had freed him and at the end of the day he was just being ordered what to do, but you felt uneasy. Knowing he was just wandering free, no consequences to what happened.
But why was he here? Had he been inside the Sanctuary?
Also, who was he talking to?
Drash was still walking, clearly with no worry of the Wookie. You were still stuck in your position just watching, as she got closer you hear her say ''evening Mighty Daimyo.''
What? Fett was here?
So you finally picked up your feet and followed after her, and here he was. His helmet under his arm, clearly discussing something with Krrsantan.
''Evening ladies'' he says, his eyes moving from Drash to you as his mouth turns up in the corner into a smirk as he says directly at you ''don't you have a shift to get to?''
Once again embarrassment crawled through you. This was the first time in a few days you had seen him, and this was how he was going to act?
Again though, was it teasing or annoyance?
''We were about to head back to the Palace now sir, my bike is being stored here thanks to Madam Garsa'' Drash informed him. She then hurried off to grab her bike, so you go to follow her until your arm is in his hand, stopping you.
''I'm having a dinner meeting tonight with the other families, so I apologise in advance for the amount of dishes you'll have to deal with'' his voice is low, it brings you back down to calm, almost forgetting what happened the other day.
You just nod, trying to pull your arm away yet he doesn't let go.
''Also I wish for you to know I did accept your apology the other day, after all you did go do as you were told'' there was a look in his eye you'd not seen yet. Unsure how to describe it.
''Thank you sir'' you reply, was thanking him the right way to accept his statement? This man made it so difficult for you to speak and answer him.
He let go of your arm to turn back to the Wookie so you head into the Sanctuary to say goodbye to Garsa when you see some commotion had gone down. There was a Trandoshan laying on the ground, he was missing an arm, whilst people either helped him or stared.
Garsa had her back to you, speaking to the other Trandoshan's, ''I am deeply sorry for what happened, please know your drinks are on the house tonight.''
What happened here?
She turned around and you saw the tiredness on her face. ''Hi, I just ran in to say bye and everything, but I take it now's a bad time'' you say to her, your eyes not daring to look back at the commotion.
''You just managed to miss it. Krrsantan had a few too many drinks and deemed that man his target'' she answers in sigh, ''thankfully due to their species his arm should grow back soon.'' Krrsantan did this? He pulled that persons arm off?!
''Are you okay? Do you need any help?'' You can only imagine how traumatic that must have been to watch, and knowing she will be flooded with questions from customers all night, you just know she will get zero rest.
Her hands rise up and she says ''no, don't worry about it child. Please go home, enjoy the rest of your day, don't let this ruin your time.'' You missed this, her caring attitude. You wish you could hear it everyday.
Outside you can hear Drash pull up on her bike, meaning you had to head home.
Home? It still weird odd to refer to the Palace as your home now.
''Go, everything will be fine. I appreciate your visit today, and I hope you visit again soon, or vice versa'' she gives you that familiar warm smile.
You smile back to her and say ''I will, please take care.''
And with that it's back to normal, you on the back of Drash's speeder heading to the Palace, mentally preparing yourself for this dinner tonight.
You try to figure out how many families there would be, and how many bodyguards they'd most likely bring with them. Praying that it won't be too overwhelming as you were already tired from your day out with Drash.
Once you reach your quarters you change out your clothes, putting on the same green dress you wore for the party, adding your new necklace from today too. Even though you would be in the kitchen you decided to look at least a bit nice considering there were guests here.
Plus, it couldn't hurt if you came across Lord Fett whilst looking good. You felt so relieved that the incident with him seemed to be fixed, and that he was 'back to normal' with you.
A small smile is plastered on your face, you're so glad you got to spend the day out today. It made you feel more relaxed knowing Garsa was doing well and getting to speak to someone about the events that have happened, and her giving zero judgement.
Before you left you grabbed one of the small fruits you bought today to eat, it had a hard shell with a soft inside, it was quite sweet. Nothing really special, but you were happy you got to finally try some of them.
You're fixing your hair as you head towards the kitchen when you overhear Fennec talking to someone outside the throne room.
''Look, I understand your deal with the Trandoshan's, I get your anger. However doing it inside her building reflects poorly on us'' you hear her say. The were a few roars in response which indicates she was talking to Krrsantan about his earlier events.
''I get that, and honestly couldn't care less that you did it, but I'm trying to keep it peaceful with her'' Fennec says clearly understanding Wookie.
Keep it peaceful with her? Was she referring to Garsa?
He gives some response that you don't understand as you can't speak Wookie, then Fennec says ''no, it's got nothing to do with business deals. I have an interest of sorts with her, and don't want her to think badly of me.''
A smile tries to come onto your lips, did Fennec have an interest in Garsa? Trying to figure out what you were listening to fully.
You then hear them both head back into the throne room, and so you wait a couple of minutes before you continue your walk to the kitchen. The smell of food was already in the air, meaning the dinner was about to start.
**
It seemed to go well, there was one point you heard some kind of rumble and the plates shake on the table. Your guess was Fett threaten them with the rancor since the table seemed to be on top of the pit.
There had been no yelling or clear signs of disagreement which you hoped was a good sign for them.
Luckily for you it wasn't too bad with the dishes, the Mods had been worse on some days.
Unfortunately though it was getting late, you don't think you'd worked this late here yet, and you were still tired from your day out.
You let out a yawn as you hang your apron up and wash your hands.
''Hey'' Fennec suddenly appears in the doorway, startling you, ''want a drink? Don't worry it's on the house obviously, just thought you might fancy one as you have been working hard tonight.''
''Sure'' you shrug, one drink couldn't hurt plus why not relax a bit after that mess?
You follow her into the throne room, there was no one actually working on the bar currently. Then you look around, no one else was in here, just the pair of you.
Fennec stood behind the bar and asked what you wanted, so you told her to surprise you, and maker did she. It was nice, but very strong, you almost gag on it after the first sip causing her to laugh at you.
''So, how was your trip out today?'' Fennec asked as she sipping her spotchka. ''Oh, it went well, I haven't been to the markets in a long time so it was nice going and not feeling scared to spend money'' you answer.
Stomach feeling warm out of appreciation of her asking, you hoped that one day you could be close with Fennec.
''Also, thank you for earlier, for speaking to Lord Fett for me'' you added, sipping your drink.
She shrugs and says ''it was no problem really. When I mentioned to him that I hadn't really seen you his response was just 'she needs to learn more about how everything works here' and tried to make it into this whole thing, but I told him to put himself into your perspective and I guess he took the hint.''
''He did bring it up earlier, how he had accepted my apology'' you replied. Your mind wandered off thinking about how if he wanted to he could teach you a lesson or two on how everything works here, not letting you out his sight until he did.
''But anyway'' Fennec says pulling your attention back to her, mentally slapping yourself for thinking about Fett in such inappropriate ways whilst talking to his closet friend, ''next time you wish to go into town just ask me, I need a break from here sometimes. Plus there's a few places I want to visit without Boba constantly over my shoulder.''
You were glad she brought it up, since you had wanted to mention it to her a few days ago. ''That would be great, I'd like that. Could even take you to the Sanctuary, since I could get us drinks cheaper'' you say.
She nods and adds quietly ''I've been meaning to find a reason to visit it actually.''
''What do you mean?'' You turn to her, rising your eyebrow.
''Just, you know'' she smiles to herself, ''just someone I wanna visit there.''
So you were right then? Was Fennec interested in Garsa like you earlier suspected?
You let out a little giggle, ''oh I see. Well I think there's someone there who wants you to visit'' you wink.
Fennec grabs her drink and takes a big chug of it, a smile still sitting on her face.
Could you do this? Setting up your old boss with one of your new bosses wasn't something you actually imagined doing, but you didn't mind helping if needed.
Out of all people Fennec could ask for help on Garsa you would be the best option.
The pair of you drink more, she complains about the Syndicates and the three families, whilst you listen and it goes over your head. She asks a bit about you, she said she already knew a decent amount about you. She knew you were from off another planet, so she asked what it was like there and why you left.
You explained to her how beautiful it was there, how it used to be so peaceful and how the community used to look out for each other. Then you told her how quickly it all changed, that once the Empire fell so did everything else. Telling her how a civil war broke out, your loved ones dying, and how unsafe it was.
This was the second ever time you had told someone what happened back home. Garsa had been the only person you had ever told.
''Oh, so that makes more sense now why you have some fighting skills'' she says, recalling when she attacked you as part of a test when you were moving in.
She promised you that you would be safe here with her and Fett, that they would protect you. She did also offer if you did ever want more training that she would help, but you declined her, you weren't really the fighting type.
It was strange, you didn't imagine she would be the supporting and comforting type, that under her assassin façade was a nice woman. A woman who clearly carried a lot of care.
Which did make sense since her job now was to protect Lord Fett and the people of Mos Espa, but still, it was a nice surpise.
''You know, I once walked in on Boba talking to himself in the mirror, practicing to introduce himself, but just in his underwear and his helmet on'' she laugh drinking her drink. You two had since moved from the depressing and oversharing drinking stage to finding everything funny stage.
You held your stomach as curled over from laughter. If you were sober you wouldn't be finding it this funny, but the alcohol in your system was convincing you this was the funniest thing you'd ever heard.
However at the same time the image of it seems so sexy, Fett wearing nothing but his helmet. Wondering if he would fuck you only wearing his helmet, causing you to readjust in your seat.
''What's so funny ladies?'' A voice emerges in the doorway.
''Just telling our friend here about you practising in your underwear and helmet'' Fennec says with a smirk on her face and her drink in her hand.
His feet get closer to the bar, you are yet to turn around so you don't know how close he is to you. ''Did you tell her about the time I found you asleep on the throne with your feet in the air and your head dangling off, nearly falling off it head first'' Fett's voice was right behind you as you giggle at the thought of Fennec sleeping in such a stupid position.
''Yours is more embarrassing'' she shrugs placing her now empty glass back down, ''but anyway, I'm going to turn in for the night, need to have a look through our contacts for re-enforcements in the morning.''
She stands up straight, completely unfazed from how much she drank, clearly able to handle her drink.
''Coming?'' She turns to you, offering her hand. You go to reply but someone else does for you ''don't worry about her, I'll take care of her and walk her back to her quarters. I want to have another word with the majordomo.''
Fennec nods, giving you a smile and then heading up the stairs to her room.
You're back to facing the bar, finishing the last of your drink. Then a pair of hands rest on your shoulders, your body is pulled back ever so slightly so your head is resting against his stomach.
He is still wearing his armour, it's cold against the back of your head, and your shoulders fall onto his soft but also tone stomach. You shut your eyes for a moment, maybe it was the alcohol but you felt so comfortable here.
''How did your meal go sir?'' You ask, focusing hard so your don't slur your words. His hands are stroking your shoulders as he replies ''I think it went well, don't think I can trust any of them with my proposal. I'd like to believe they won't betray me.''
Why would anyone dare betray him? Did they not fear him like you did?
Well, you still didn't exactly fear him. More you fear the idea of going against him.
''I wouldn't betray you'' you whisper, your mouth moving before your brain can fully catch up.
One of his hands move along to your chin, tilting your head back. Your skull was resting on his stomach, just under where the armour sat, looking directly up at him.
No helmet on.
His gaze was locked onto yours, ''I'd like to think so, princess.''
Princess?
Your cheeks instantly start burning, you move your head down as the hand that was on your chin twists the stool around, so that you were now facing him. His hand returning back to your face, but this time stroking your cheek.
''Oh don't get all shy on me now'' he smirks.
Now you take notice of how close he was to you, he was towering over you, almost caging you in.
His eyes are scanning over your body, ''were you trying to catch my attention again by wearing this?''
You give him a confused look, so he leaned down so he was level with your ear. His hot breath on your ear and he says in a low voice ''I would remember the dress you wore the first time I laid my eyes on you. How it hugged your body, how breath-taking you looked in it. Do you know how good your ass looks in it?''
A heavy breath leaves your lips as he carries on.
''You have no real need to be wearing this tonight since you were working. I reckon you were hoping, begging almost, that you would see me'' the hand from your shoulder moves onto your clothed thigh, ''so that I could see you in this. Is that right cyar'ika?''
''Maybe'' you whisper. Your underwear were soaking as your pussy was dying for attention, wishing the hand on your thigh would move higher up.
That same low chuckle leaves Fett as feel his smirk against your ear.
Slowly he rises back up, a look of desire in his eyes as his eyes meet yours. The hand from your cheek trails down to your hand, tugging you slightly.
''Let's get you to bed then'' Lord Fett says.
Oh, of course, he was just teasing you like always. Why would you expect much more than that?
You tighten your hand around his gloved one, he pulls you up but you stumble a bit. Forgetting how strong the drink Fennec made you was.
Thankfully Fett catches you, giving you a small smile and saying ''don't worry, I've got you little one.''
If he hadn't been holding you then you would've fell again, his words literally making your legs weak. You look up at him and say ''sorry sir.''
''It is no bother, I'll take care of you'' he says, giving you a moment to gain your footing before heading out the throne room.
Your eyes are locked onto where your hands are still joined, he was holding it with enough strength to help keep you steady but not too strong that he was crushing your hand.
This shouldn't be as attractive as you find it, but yet you're getting aroused by it. His hand in yours, such a unique feeling.
For some reason it surprised you that he knew the way to your quarters, your brain forgetting for a moment that he was your boss and is the one who probably assigned you to this room.
The Palace was quiet, no one was around currently, but that was to be expected considering the time.
Then your quarters come into sight, and you move your free hand to get your key card when you remember that you left it in your apron.
''Shit, sorry sir, my card is in the kitchen still'' you say as you reach your room.
He then looks at you, pulling out a card from one of his many pockets on his belt and opens your room. ''This is my Palace, I have access to every room'' he informs you.
Which made sense, why wouldn't he. Your dumb intoxicated brain wasn't thinking straight. Or was it your horny brain?
So you let go of his hand and manage to make it to your room with steady footing, turning around once you're in the doorway to face him again.
''T-thank you for walking me back'' you say, your brain daring to invite him in, wanting to see how he would take care of you exactly.
Lord Fett once again gets closer to you, like always placing his fingers under your chin to force you to stare into his eyes. You pray that this time he can read your mind, wish he would take you right now.
''Copaanir gar chur ni'' he mumbles, his eyes locking onto your lips.
''I don't- I have no clue what you're saying'' you reply quietly.
A smirk appears on his mouth as he says ''what if I just showed you instead then?'' You respond with a nod. He moves you further into your room and closes the door with his foot.
Then it happens, he uses the fingers on your chin to pull your face closer to his, pressing his lips against yours. You close your eyes and allow yourself to be in this moment.
His lips were rough, but also somewhat soft at the same time. There was a slight taste of wine on them, you weren't sure what kind, but it didn't really matter.
At the same time you move one of your hands to his shoulders as he moves the fingers off your chin to hold your cheek, his other hand resting on the bottom of your back.
He nibbles on your bottom lip, pulling you further into the kiss. You try to match his pattern, but he was hungry. Then his tongue appears, asking for permission to enter and you allow it.
You were melting.
But you wanted more, you needed more.
Before you can stop it a small moan is muffled between you both, causing his hand on your back to pull you closer to him. One of his knees nudge your legs, opening them a bit so your crotch was resting against his thigh.
Then he pulls away slowly, the hand on your cheek cradling your face whilst he says ''if you wish for me to stop, tell me now and we will never speak of this.''
So you bring your hand not on his shoulder up and move his from your cheek, resting his thumb on your lips. Luckily he clicks on to what you're suggesting and pushes his gloves thumb into your mouth. You wrap your lips around it and stare at him with desire.
''You want me to carry on?''
You nod and hum against his thumb.
Was this possibly a bad decision? Maybe, but right now you needed him in any way he would let you.
His mouth then attaches to your neck, leaving wet kisses along it, slightly biting sometimes too. This caused you to moan again against his thumb and you can feel smile on your neck.
Next his thumb is out your mouth and he his back to being level with your face, the way he was staring at you was soaking your underwear.
''So I was correct, you are eager then'' Fett smirks at you, ''but just how eager?'' So you decide to show him in the best way you could think of.
Moving back slightly to remove his thigh from your legs, and then you slowly lower yourself to your knees. Resting the palm of your hands on your thighs, rising your gaze back up to him.
Completely submitting to him.
A small groan leaves him as leans down and moves a few stray hairs out your face, ''oh, what a sight.''
All worry is flushed out your body, he clearly had an interest in you and he knew you very much did for him too.
''Are you gonna let me use you? Let me ruin your body in whatever way I please?''
Legs once again pressing together and you reply ''please sir, I want you.''
You knew that it was the alcohol giving you this false confidence, you couldn't imagine yourself actually saying what you really wanted. About how badly you wanted Lord Fett to ruin you, completely claim you as his own. Be his.
''Then you best start worshipping your alor, little one'' he states before rising back up, towering over you.
So you reach your hand out towards his growing bulge, and start to pull the zip down on his pants, a pair of grey underwear peaking through the black flight suit. Under your finger tips you can feel how badly he wanted you, so you start working quicker. You reach your hand in and grope his cock through his underwear, was this actually happening?
He then decides to remove his belt, you give him a hand unbuckling the section on his thigh and then pull your focus back to his growing cock. Now it was easier to gain access to him. So you fully open his pants, and drag his underwear down to release him.
Marker, he was thick!
Now you can feel your underwear are ruined, they were drenched, and yet your mouth was practically drooling for him.
You wrap your hand around him, your fingers just unable to reach each other. Precum leaking out of him, slowly running down and meeting your fingers.
''If it gets too much tap my thigh'' he informs you, giving you some ease.
Then you lean forward and take his tip between your lips, licking the precum off his dick. He was salty and musty, different to what you had ever tasted before, but you didn't hate it.
Tongue dancing around his tip, causing his hand to rest on your hair. You took this as encouragement and pushed the rest of his length into your mouth, taking him as far as you possibly could. Your lips were being almost being tickled by the black curly hairs at the base of his dick.
Your jaw had never been so stretched from someone's cock just resting on your tongue, it wasn't causing any pain, well yet anyway.
Taking a deep breath in through your nose and start to bob your head back and forth, sliding him against your lips.
''Such a talented mouth'' he praises you as his fingers tug on your hair slightly.
The praise almost causing you to lose focus, but you just kept moving your head and taking as much of him in your mouth as you could.
You couldn't get enough, the sensation of him in your mouth was such an unique feeling. The thickness giving you no space to breath in your own mouth, and yet you enjoyed that.
''Want to know how deep you can take me'' he mutters, ''show me.''
So you once again take a deep breath in and slowly take his full length. When he is at the back of your throat you can feel him pull tug on your hair harder, your moan muffled as it vibrated against his cock.
Never had you felt so turned on by giving someone else head before, it was new to you.
You swallow around his cock, taking him deeper into your throat and a small moan leaves his mouth.
Fuck, you wanted to hear him do that again. It was such a beautiful sound, enough for your pussy to grip around thin air.
''Hold still'' he says, his words so demanding but his voice so soft. The hand holding your hair tightens a bit and before you can react he then starts thrusting into your throat.
Trying to knock your gag reflex off, allowing your body to relax as he fucked your face.
''You look so pretty like this, with your mouth stuffed of my cock'' he tells you. You then dip your hand down between your thighs, and you may as well not have been wearing underwear anymore since they were that wet.
''That's right, touch yourself as I fuck your pretty mouth'' the grip on your hair loosening a bit.
So you do as he said and moved your underwear to the side, stroking between your soaking folds. Finding your clit with two fingers and start massaging it, whilst you allowed Lord Fett to claim your mouth.
You wish to remember this moment, the first time Fett kissed you and then fucked your mouth after.
His cock stiffens against your mouth as your moans vibrate along it, he lets out a deep groan and picks up his pace.
Tears start to fill your eyes and spit dripped down your chin, you had never felt so good before. It wasn't unbearable, feeling no need to stop as tears roll down your cheeks.
Your eyes dare to look at his, taking in his face through your half shut lids, to catch him staring right into yours. ''You enjoying this mesh'la? Enjoying your king take your mouth?''
Another muffled moan leaves you, slighting nodding in response to his question.
Your fingers are still playing with your clit, but you need more.
''Been dreaming of this, thinking of this mouth since the first time we met. I bet you've been thinking the same, probably touched yourself countless times. Don't worry, cyar'ika, from now I'll take care of it for you'' he says breathlessly.
Wishing you could answer him, but you don't wanna lose the feeling of his cock inside your mouth.
Whilst also wishing you could feel him inside your other hole, wanting his dick to fill you and be deep inside you. You imagine how much he would stretch you, how thick he would be to clench around.
Maker you needed his touch, needing him to pull you closer to your release whilst you help bring his own.
His thrusts get a quicker, causing you to choke on him a little, yet this just causes him to carry on. Above you he is mumbling curses under his breath, ''so good, such a good girl.''
Your eyes roll back before shutting, fuck you wanted him to make you cum.
The hand in your hair has tightened again as he thrusts move at a new pace, and you just allow your mouth to be abused by his cock.
''I'm gonna cum so deep in your throat princess, want you to swallow it all for me'' Fett says.
So you remove your fingers from your underwear and hold onto his thighs to brace yourself. He is fucking your mouth so uncontrollably that tears are flowing down your face, as you feel his cock stiffen up meaning he was very close.
He lets out a low moan, leaning back a little as warm salty liquid hits the back of your mouth, causing you to gag a bit, but the force on your head kept you in place.
You swallow all the cum in your mouth, then your tongue dances around the tip of his cock to carry out the last of his orgasm.
Slowly he withdraws himself from your mouth, and you let out a long breath. However missing the feeling of his cock sliding against your lips.
''You did so good for me'' he praises, stroking your head and moving your hair all out of your face as he carefully pushes it up to face him, ''now let me take care of you little one.''
He tucks himself back into his pants, then he places his hands under your arms and helps you up. You look at him, dazed still from him using your face, the taste of cum in your mouth.
Then he says ''go sit on the edge of the bed for me'' and you waste no time to obey him. Doing exactly as he said with shaky legs, him following just behind.
As you sit down he is already in front of you, parting your legs with him own, standing between them. He places his fingers on your chin as he leans down and places a kiss on your lips, defiantly able to taste himself on your lips, but it didn't seem to bother him.
His hands wander to your thighs, holding the end of your dress, pushing it higher up your thighs as he whispers against your lips ''lift'' and you do. Your dress is then slowly slid up your body.
Once it reaches your breasts he moves back and watches as he removes it from your body. As you were in a rush a bit earlier you didn't bother to find a bra so your tits were now free, right in front of him. You're now sitting in only your underwear in front of him, starting to now feel embarrassed.
Your arms go to cross over your chest before he protests, ''what are you hiding for? I want to see how perfect you look.''
So you lower your arms, allowing him to see you. Both of his hands move forward and squeeze them, his thumbs playing over your nipples, causing a quiet moan to escape you.
''Look at you, so good.''
He then leans down and pulls your nipple between his teeth, your head rolls back as you let out another quiet moan. One of his hands move down to your thighs, traveling up and stoking over your underwear.
''Cyar'ika, you really are eager. Do you want me to touch you?'' his eyes meet yours, ''want me to take care of you like I promised Fennec?''
You nod and close your eyes, but then a small smack hits your tit causing your eyes to fly open.
''I need to hear you say it, tell me what you want me to do babygirl.''
Babygirl, fuck that was a new one.
''Please touch me, take care of me. Make me cum for you Lord Fett.''
That same beautiful smirk appears as he pushes you onto your back, dragging your underwear off your legs, completely exposing you to him.
His hands trace along your body, taking you in.
''Maker, you are so perfect. I am going to ruin you one day'' he promises, and you hope he stays true to it.
You feel his hand rise up your thigh, heading towards your aching folds. Letting out a heavy breath as your body slightly shook in anticipation.
A finger traces through your folds, your body twitching in the process and you grab the sheet slightly. He lets out a low chuckle, then with two fingers starts to massage your clit. You let out a low moan, it had been too long since someone else's hands touched you like this.
''See I would edge and tease you, wanting to see how needy you are exactly, but you sucked my dick so good I think you deserve to be rewarded.''
You moan in response, then he slides one finger into your pussy.
Your back arches and he uses his other hand to push your hips back down to the bed. He is using his thumb to still massages your clit as he pumps you with his finger.
''Think you can take another one?'' He asks, and you nod.
His fingers were as thick as you imagined, he was already stretching your hole. Going deeper than your own fingers ever could, filling you in the way you wanted, in the way you needed.
However, if his fingers were this thick, you have no clue how you'd ever be able to handle his cock inside you.
He moves the hand off your hip and places it onto your breast, playing with the nipple between his fingers. Your eyes find his and your pussy clenches, the look in his eyes was enough to make you cum then and there. He was looking at you with such desire, like he really was admiring you.
Then you feel him move his fingers, ''want to know if you can take one more.''
You are about to protest, but he already pushes it in and even though it was tight and a little painful, you had never felt so good. Goosebumps cover your body, feeling overstimulated by one man.
His fingers curl, hitting that one spot impossible for you yourself to hit. Your breathing gets caught in your chest, maker you were close. If he carries on like this you'll be a mess under him in minutes.
''Is this good girl getting close is she?'' he asks in a teasing tone.
You nod and moan a bit louder than you had been. ''I want you to tell me when you're close'' Fett demands.
His hand moves to your other nipple, all the nervous in your body are standing up. The motion on your clit speeding up, pulling you closer and closer.
This feeling was something else. You had dreamt of him touching you, hell you'd masturbated over the idea of him touching you. And here you were. Just had your throat fucked and came in, then getting finger fucked to orgasm by him.
It felt like dream.
But then the pit in your stomach grew, reminding you this was in fact not a dream, and that you were so close to cumming for your boss.
Cumming in front of him, from his touch.
''I'm so close s-sir'' you whimper out.
His speed increases, your hands grip the sheets harder.
''Cum for me, cover my fingers princess'' he tells you, and that was it.
Your pussy clenches tight around him, your hips rise before he shoves them back down. Eyes shutting as darkness covers them, fireworks exploding behind your lids. You let out a loud moan and say his name.
He is still pulling and pushing his fingers inside you, however it's slower now, just working you through your orgasm.
The orgasm rushes through your whole body, cumming harder than you ever had before.
Then he slowly pulls his fingers from you, you let out a quiet whimper. Already missing the feeling.
You open your eyes and stare at him in a daze. Your mouth is completely dry, you throat tired, and your whole body exhausted.
Fett places one of his hands on the bed next to your head to balance himself and strokes your cheek with the other. ''You did so good for me'' he smiles before placing small kisses on your lips. Your heart skips a beat and your breathing halters from the praise as you press your lips against his.
After a little while he rises from you and tells you to stay there. You watch as he enters the fresher and hear water start to fill the bath. He then returns, taking his gloves and gauntlets off, and then helps you sit up.
Your legs are shaking a bit. If this is how your body is reacting to him just fingering you then maker knows what you would be like after he fucks you. Well if he ever fucked you. There was no point in getting ahead of yourself.
Without warning he lifts you up, carrying you bridal style into your fresher and placing you in the bath.
You had sobered up by this point, your brain only really catching up with you.
Fett then reaches and grabs a small towel and helps wipe the sweat off your face. It was such a soft gesture, like there was really a caring man under all that armour, more than just a powerful ruler.
''Was that all okay? With what just happened?'' he asked in such a soft voice you almost didn't recognise it.
Giving him a warm smile and replying ''yes, I enjoyed it.''
A look of relief waves across his face for a moment, like he was worried he took it too far. At the end of the day he would always have more power than you, and you think he was scared he overdid it.
''I'm glad then, now let's get you cleaned up.''
He wipes your face again, cleaning off the dried spit from your mouth and chin, and wiping around your eyes from the tears staining your cheeks. Just helping clean your body after he managed to dirty it.
After you were clean he grabbed a towel for you and gave you a hand out the bath. He hugged the towel around your shaking body, both from the sudden coolness and the adrenaline calming down from before.
Picking you back up again and carrying you to your bed, helping you dry your hair off a little on the towel before making sure you get into bed.
''Sleep well little one, don't worry about your shift in the morning, just rest'' Fett says, placing a kiss on your forehead.
''Thank you sir, have fun with the majordomo'' you say resting your head on the pillow.
He chuckles a little and shakes his head, ''oh mesh'la, that was a clear lie.''
Your face burns up realising that the was trying to get back here with you from the moment he entered the throne room. If you weren't suddenly so tired then you would've found this arousing.
''Oh, well... goodnight then Lord Fett.''
''Boba, you can call me Boba little one'' he says with a small smile on his face.
You smile back at him, ''okay, goodnight then Boba.''
''Goodnight cyar'ika.''
And with that he is gone.
Laying back on your head you smile to yourself, tonight had been something.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the process of writing the thing that remains like? Idk, no pressure to answer or anything.
haha nah, i'm happy to answer. to be honest, the thing that remains was probably the hardest project that i've ever worked on, and one with that i struggle with a lot. don't get me wrong, i absolutely loved it and even now it is still my favorite out of every fic i have written, but like heck it gave me a time
(fuck this turned into a long response, so have a read more to spare all other poor passersby)
i spent the better part of three years working on it, essentially, and during that time i went through basically every scene in the manga which law shows up in with a fine tooth comb. not just trying to figure out what he said and did in any given moment, but looking at all the context around it to figure out what it was it was feeling, why he made any given decision he did. which is fun with law, because oda typically uses him for a sort of 'gotcha' type plot reveal in which he makes law look very ruthless and suspicious and often untrustworthy, doing stuff that seems to throw the straw hats under the bus, only to turn around a dozen chapters later and reveal the whole plot law had been building up, complete with flashback explanations
so like, there was a lot of reading back and forward looking at those reveals then heading back to piece together the clues that had been scattered in the lead up. which, yeah all this endless reading and fact-checking might sound like a chore, but honestly i really enjoyed it.
a lot of the time, i really thoroughly loved writing law. part of it is just because he's just honest to god so dramatic. he's cynical and he's jaded and he's so done with everything. he needs a cup of coffee and a nap at all times and shit keeps piling up in his lap anyway, and watching him crack under pressure and steadily give less and less fucks was just so fun. things like his fight scene with vergo, and the one with doflamingo, i had so much fun with the sheer emotion and intensity in those, you can't even imagine.
and yeah, working with luffy was also a very fun part to write. luffy's a character thats much easier to write from an outside POV rather than an internal one, but i still spent a lot of time in luffy's headspace trying to figure out how he'd react to any given thing - when we get the moments of silliness and shenanigans, when it is he turns intense and we see that sharper more insightful side of him. there's a lot of fun stuff to write there with luffy just catching law off guard, both by him being silly and him being serious, and having law have to process and deal with the fallout of any given emotional breakthrough luffy has forced on him was just also very fun
cuz like - half of why the fic is so long and so slow burn is because law just spends so much time thinking. their entire relationship rests on a foundation of law having to come to terms with survivors guilt, that he can and should continue to be happy and live despite the things that he has lost, and the very fraught decision about whether to open himself up to further vulnerability and let himself care about people. every step he concedes into his relationship with luffy is a philosophical debate that changes the way he is choosing to live his life. a lot of the fic is actually just how laws experiences and traumas growing up - the people he lost, both his family and cora - have shaped the man he is today and the lasting effects that has on his personality and character.
and again, you would think that would be the hard agonizing thing to write, but really it wasn't. i loved writing that stuff as well.
the thing is though, this fic took a lot of time. its 220k long, i spent weeks writing it, months, hours and hours and hours, and whenever i wasn't working on it, it was always on my mind. at any given time for the duration of three years, a part of my thoughts was always dedicated to it. it was such a dedication of effort and commitment and just sheer brain space that it honestly feels like i gave birth to and raised a child.
still, the length and duration of it alone meant that yeah, there were times where i got very bad writers block while working on it and times i didn't touch it for months at a time. i struggled with some chapters a lot, just never quite feeling they were right until i rewrote them again and again. i rewrote the opening scene in the first chapter three times after it was posted, for example, each time just changing it minor ways and making edits to the dialogue, because i wasn't satisfied.
some chapters, when i was working on them, took upwards of three or four complete rewrites of the chapter, just because i kept getting stuck and not being satisfied with it. to be honest, this was much more a phenomenon of the later chapters of the fic, when it reaches the wano arc, because that's where i started having to put in a lot of my own concepts and events, since the manga was still in progress for that section. like, the kaido/big-mom/luffy and them on the dome fight was still in progress when i wrote the chapter with that fight - and so i incorporated a lot of the details that were coming out in the new chapters into it even as i wrote it, before ultimately finishing it my own way, since it hadn't reached its conclusion in the manga yet by that point.
ultimately though, the chapters that i had the most difficulty with were the post-kaidou defeat wano chapters. like, when everything's settled and its just playing out the aftermath and the culmination of luffy and law's relationship. those chapters killed me. i spent weeks rewriting each, creating a timeline of possible events again and again and then redoing it, modifying it, shuffling it round, trying to just make things feel right.
a lot of that struggle came down to just trying to get a characterization of law and luffy that felt right in those romantic scenes. law and luffy were each characters i knew well how to write by then, but oh my god getting them to actually be like romantic together is like herding cats. luffy's mode of being is so wholesome and, well, asexual (and yes that's a valid head-canon, though i didn't use it for this series) that making the scenes happen takes some very very specific maneuvering and tone management. like, not going to lie, that is what caused half the rewrites of those chapters, just me trying to make it all feel right and well-characterized.
(which is why i sometimes find it a little disheartening when people leave comments being like - oh i liked it, but i wish luffy had been ace. because i made a choice to have him not to be specifically. i get it, he's a beautiful ace character, and i enjoy him that way as well, i do. hell, i'm fucking ace, give me ace rep any day of the week, but him not being ace was a side i wanted to explore in this fic, and i did a lot of work to make it happen and make it feel right, so having people comment on that is just- okay, on a tangent now, moving on. see here for my more in depth thoughts on luffy's sexuality)
another part that added difficulty there was just the pressure. not from like the readers or anything, but i had spent 3 years and 200k words leading up to these big payoff scenes where they finally get together and their relationship becomes a thing that there was a lot of internal pressure from myself to get it right. like, i needed them to be good, i needed them to be perfect, i'd been working so long to get to the moment where these scenes could be written that writing even a single sentence was exhausting. i agonized over each sentence, i work-shopped each paragraph again and again. it took so much effort that even just writing a tiny bit felt like writing entire pages, just because i was thinking so much about it.
and like, yeah, that final stretch, dealing with that, was really what was the most difficult when writing the fic. its an odd feeling, sort of, because even as i was really struggling to write it, those were also scenes i was really enjoying. like there was a real sense of masochism to it - of writing these bits that were excruciating in the amount of effort and criticality that went into them - but also like, the joy of having law and luffy finally reach that point after all the stuggles they went through, and getting to the moment of payoff when law really and truly opens up and decides to risk his heart on luffy.
it was so fun to write, so fun, but also fuck me i was exhausted the whole time. putting up the final chapters actually sort of felt a little bit like dying - not just because i was really nervous about whether they would do justice and be the good payoff for this fucking huge work readers had been following, but also just because i didn't know what to do with myself afterwards. i spent so long thinking about or working on that fic, literally for years, that when it was done i just felt sort of hollow inside. i didn't know what to do with myself.
and yeah, i've moved on to other projects that i'm happily chewing away on now, lot least me being in a neck-deep spiral of gan/link LoZ fic, but the thing that remains is still that fic. its the longest fic ive ever completely, the one i've put the most effort and blood and sweat and tears into, and it holds a place in my heart that no other one of my stories does.
tl:dr the thing that remains is a fic that i had a lot of fun writing, like so much fun, it was absolutely fantastic and i loved ever moment, but also sometimes putting words to paper was like pulling teeth and by the time i was done it felt like the same amount of effort as if i'd torn off my own arm and fed it into an incinerator one atom at a time.
so yeah, hope that answers your question 😅

GOGKYLDHJSDJSD SIM SO HAPPY THANK YOU!!!! I actually had a hard time designing her because I wanted her to look good sO ASHDJAEHAJD TYSMMM I kept debating whether to give her the "eyes" or not, how her pointed hair should look, etc etc so 🥺🥺🥺 AND RIGHT??? TOMJESSE SO 😩😩 IN THE FUTURE 🙈🙈🙈🙈
i feel like I need to sadly emphasize this, susan is literally as they call, a fankid. she's not actually canonical in the future au (i was too scared to say this but that au gets. pretty angsty BYE I can't drag her in i can't), I simply couldn't pass to embrace the domestic au that they could have since they're married and all that 🥺 BUT DON'T FEEL TOO BAD BECAUSE I'm so ready to throw cute shit at all of you when I can EHEHEHEH
BUT!!! what I can offer to tell is that, susan is actually very hyper, energetic and easily excited! when she first made her appearance to tom's friends, they certainly had a mix of emotions. edd was so happy, because he instantly knew he's going to be a great uncle!! he's gonna draw for her a lot of stuff <3 and ringo's other playmate <33 matt was a little uhh,,,, maybe a little startled at her eyes (don't tell me he's not at least terrified i know he should be) but after seeing a little more of her, he loves to dress her up and look super cute!! t.ord, however, is the literal embodiment of this meme

Day 4 of being stuck inside because everything is frozen outside:
Work was cancelled again today, but I haven't gotten a text from my boss yet today about whether or not tomorrow will be. I'm hoping it is because it's been raining for most of the day in below freezing temperatures, so most likely that'll just be another layer of ice overnight.
I was pretty productive yesterday, so I mostly napped today, but I did do some laundry. Hoping to maybe work on one of my fic wips tonight if the mood is right. Debating whether or not I should start yet another one based on the DeFroque thoughts I've been having...

8.3 Emotional
Wahhhhh lmao.
Don't understand myself sometimes.
I went into things with casual and flirty intentions, mostly 'cause I'm attracted to his body lol. And there's something quite intimate about him being my private instructor.. just intimate moments in class.
While those were my intentions, fun and flirty, I did catch myself feeling things when our eyes met, or when he bought me boba. Like that feeling you get when you like someone in high school, and you don't know them very well and it's a secret and you're wondering if they like you back.
There was a point (for about 5 days) when we texted every day, and the texts got sweeter and sweeter. Certain things he wrote made me feel tingly.. in my heart and down there ahahaha.
We went on date yesterday and it was kind of an emotional roller coaster for me. At first, I thought he was gonna tell me he has strong feelings for me / maybe ask me to be his girlfriend, which sorta freaked me out.
At the end of the date we had to part ways early, although he was going to find me when he finished dealing with his emergency, but I took a nap lol and he thought I was angry 'cause I wasn't responding to his texts.
I wasn't angry, just kind of annoyed. And unsure of what to do because our whole "relationship" so far has been mainly via WeChat, and I'd rather spend time with him in person. So I was conflicted, debating whether or not I wanted to continue, especially since I feel like I didn't get what I needed to from our date (clarity on certain things)..and continuing to text him every day feels like a huge commitment on my end because I usually don't text so often- I'd rather see him in person.
Anyways, he asked to meet and when we did, he immediately apologized, saying he reflected on his behaviour and what he did that could've made me angry/upset, and apologized full-heartedly. Said he couldn't live with himself knowing that he made me feel bad. In english it sounds dramatic, but in Chinese, it's very sincere. It was a really sincere expression of love and affection- that's how it felt, at least. It made me understand him better, and like him more, honestly. It was what I was looking for on our date.
We talked about a couple other things though, somewhat bittersweet (like my leaving China and him not having much free time right now). Anyways, we parted with him saying he feels happy when he's with me, but also there's not much he can do about freeing up time right now. And I told him I'm not the biggest fan of texting / it doesn't make sense to text so much if I don't get to spend much time with him in person. He also shared a poem that went something along the lines of
"Mountain birds and fish are not the same, their paths will never cross again".
Reading that again, last night and today, made me cry.
I literally bawled so hard last night and today. Felt really emotional. I'm not quite sure why though, or what about.. like I said, my feelings for him aren't that deep. I figured I was just feeling really touched by his apology? Like honestly, it hit deep... Or maybe sad because I finally saw his heart at the end/connected with him but he's busy and I'm leaving in a month so there's no real possibility of developing or deepening anything and it was mutually understood..and man, that poem just hit.
Anyways, crying it out really helped.
I'll see him again on Monday, anyways. I think I should spend this time figuring out what I want now. Do I still want the D? And just that? Or should I just accept how we left things and move on...

While Grian goes and marvels at Joel’s Matrel Palace, Fwip, Lizzie, and Jimmy all huddle. Jimmy keeps an eye on Grian, though. For a being made mostly of eyes, wings, and the entire starry sky, he is remarkably good at sneaking away from them the moment they aren’t looking.
“Jimmy I really don’t know what to do here,” Fwip says. “Tell me again why your board game demon -”
“Come on, that’s not a fair description.”
“Jimmy, we accidentally summoned him while playing Uno,” Fwip says.
“I played Monopoly!” Lizzie volunteers. “Also that time we played that party game? Uh, what was it called... Pummel Party! I played that too.”
“I wasn’t debating the board game thing!” Jimmy says. “I was debating the demon thing. I’m pretty sure he’s not a demon. Also, I don’t think he’s mine?”
All three of them turn to look at Grian. Or, turn to almost look at Grian? Jimmy’s going to be honest, it’s hard to tell whether they’re looking directly at him or not. He’s more... vague, non-euclidean shapes than a being, you know? Still, Jimmy gets the distinct impression of said mass of non-euclidean shapes jumping up and down as he examines the palace like a kid in a candy shop.
“Doesn’t matter,” Fwip decides. “Why is your board game... thing... here? Doesn’t he normally just appear in near spawn when you ask for him, complaining about how he isn’t done with laundry?”
“He complained about knitting this time,” Jimmy says.
“Yes, I know!” Fwip says. “He did!”
“Anyway, he’s here because he wanted to see our Empires. He wanted to be a tourist. I thought that was obvious.”
“Jimmy, I think Fwip is asking why you said yes.”
They turn to look at Grian again. Grian, who has vanished from Jimmy’s sight. For a moment, Jimmy panics, then he spots him - or sort-of-spots-him, sort-of-doesn’t, you know - examining the spire of one of the towers. All three of them breathe a sigh of relief. The number of times Jimmy and Fwip have already almost lost some kind of Elder God on the server today is higher than Jimmy thinks it should be, ever, in his life.
“I don’t know,” says Jimmy, at last. “I don’t know. I just feel like I know him from somewhere, you know?”
“No, not really,” Lizzie says.
“It’s like me and you, except not quite,” Jimmy tries to explain. “Like, I don’t think he’s my long-lost seabling. It’s more like he’s...”
“How come you can’t do this, Tim?” says Grian, pouncing in front of him. All three of them whirl around to face him. (Really, how on earth is he that sneaky?)
“You can’t just say this at every empire!” complains Jimmy, and the conversation is dropped in favor of Grian’s subsequent plan to mess with a napping Joel. It really is comfortable, showing Grian around, letting Grian bully him, playing games. It’s like they’ve already known each other for a lifetime, or maybe several lifetimes. Jimmy’s not sure. He’s definitely going to play more board games, though.
(Later, when Grian’s gone, and Fwip and Jimmy are sitting back at spawn contemplating how this has become their life, Jimmy turns to Fwip and says:
“I don’t think he’s a demon, I think he’s a Watcher.”
“What?”
“...I don’t know what it means either,” Jimmy says. “I just thought you ought to know.”)

Akaashi
Tumblr media
Excitement bubbled in your stomach as you checked your appearance in the mirror.
“How do I look?” you teasingly asked your boyfriend. Looking up from his phone, his face immediately formed into a smile.
“Ethereal,” Akaashi replied, taking in your appearance. You giggle as you walked over to where he was sitting on your shared bed, wrapping your arms around his waist, snuggling into his chest. His scent filled your nostrils as you felt his hand reach up to smooth your hair. Warmth spread through your body.
“You ready to go then?” Akaashi asked you.
“Ready when you are,” you replied, tilting your head to meet his gaze. His eyes filled with adoration.
“Let’s go then.”
༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
The two of you were seated in a nice cafe, hunger satiated as the two of you talked. Your conversations were filled with smiles and laughter. Yet Akaashi’s smiles never seemed to truly reach his eyes. How could they when nothing but guilt filled his mind, when evidence of a drunken escapade was marked on his body?
Akaashi had noticed your intense gaze on his neck, shifting uncomfortably. Panic and dread rose to his throat at the thought of there being a hickey on his neck from the night before. Despite checking in the mirror countless times, he still couldn’t help but feel panicked at the thought of missing one.
“Is everything okay, y/n?” Akaashi tentatively asked, rubbing his hand over his neck. Snapped out of your trance, you meet his eyes before laughing it off.
“Yeah, just zoning out,” you tried to laugh off. You couldn’t shake it from your head. That couldn’t have been a hickey. Even if it was, Akaashi wouldn’t be so careless to not cover it, right? Unless he wanted you to see it. Tears pricked at your eyes. You quickly excused yourself to the bathroom, not wanting Akaashi to see your tears.
As soon as you left his sight, Akaashi hurriedly checked his camera on his phone to see what you were staring at. Sure enough, a purple splotch was peeking out from underneath his shirt. Akaashi cursed as he wracked his mind with what to do. All he could come up with was pulling his shirt collar to one side.
His heart hammered in his chest. Would you break up with him when you came out of the bathroom? He felt his heart crumble at the thought of you leaving him. Akaashi was hoping he would eventually forget about his mistake and move on with his life with you. He just wanted to move onto the moment he got down on one knee, the moment the two of you would buy a house for the first time, the moment you held your children in your arms. He just needed to get past this moment.
He knew as soon as he saw you walk out of the bathroom. Your red eyes and blotchy cheeks gave it away. You saw, and now you knew how shitty of a person he was.
Silence enveloped the two of you as you sat back down.
“So you saw,” Akaashi confirmed. All you could do was nod in response.
“Wh-what do you want to do now?” Akaashi choked out. He truly didn’t want to lose you. It was like living in a nightmare, but the most he could do now was respect your wishes.
“I-” you started off, taking a breath before continuing, “I want to go back to the apartment.”
Akaashi silently nodded in understanding before gathering his things and leaving to pay. You buried your face in your hands, not fully grasping the situation at hand. Why was he acting so guilty? This was Akaashi, your boyfriend since your third year at high school. Never once did you doubt the love you held for each other during your relationship.
“C’mon, y/n, let’s go,” Akaashi said, tentatively reaching his hand out to you. You debated whether or not you should take it, still unsure of everything going on. Finally, you gave him, letting his long fingers intertwined with yours. You almost wanted to laugh at how easily your unease washed away at his touch, how you immediately felt comforted, when the man who made you feel this way had traces of another on his skin.
The two of you drove in silence, neither one of you sure of what to say in this situation. Confusion swarmed Akaashi’s mind. You obviously saw the hickey on his neck, yet you weren’t lashing out, demanding to break up with him. Yet he could see you were visibly troubled, your history and past with him getting in the way of your rationality. Guilt and shame pooled in Akaashi’s stomach. He shouldn’t be using his familiarity with you as a way to keep you with him. He was unfaithful, and deserved all the consequences. He knew that, no matter how heart wrenching it was to have you leave him.
Silence continued to envelop the two of you as you walked up to your shared apartment. As soon as you entered the threshold of your home, Akaashi attempted to start some sort of conversation.
“Y/n, I think we need-” Akaashi attempted to start.
“Baby, I’m really tired, can this wait till after I take a nap,” you cut him off. Maybe if you continued to pretend you saw nothing, that this was just another day, everything would be okay. You and Akaashi would be okay.
“You can’t just ignore what just happened, y/n!” Akaashi reasoned. Your detachment from the situation honestly scared him a bit. He would’ve expected you to demand him to move out, maybe even a smack across the face, but your reaction was unexpected and unsettling.
“Nothing’s wrong, Akaashi,” you said, tears beginning to pool, “I still love you, and you love me, right?”
“Y/n-” Akaashi started, “of course I love you, which is why I can’t stand to see you like this! I fucking cheated on you! I don’t deserve your love! You shouldn’t be forgiving me! I don’t deserve you anymore!”
Tears began streaming down your face at his words.
“No, no no no, Akaashi, no! We’re supposed to be together! You wouldn’t hurt me like that, Akaashi, you love me too much to do that to me!” You tried to reason. Deep down, you knew. Even if the two of you somehow got past this moment, new insecurities from this moment would arise. Your relationship would never be the same.
“Y/n! Get it through your fucking head! I cheated on you! I’m a fucking scumbag who forgot how fucking amazing you are! I’m the asshole here! You can’t just forgive me like this! How are you going to forgive me when I’m never going to forgive myself?!” Akaashi’s voice broke at the end.
“Akaashi, stop it! There’s no proof!” You yelled back, not wanting reality to hit. Your eyes widened when Akaashi moved to pull his shirt over his head.
“Is this proof enough?” Akaashi started, “What will it take for you to realize? Did you want me to call them up? Have them tell you? Y/n, please, don’t put yourself through this! Fucking wake up and realize!”
You collapsed to the ground, sobbing as you took in his appearance. Hickeys littered his neck and chest, red scratches on his shoulders. It finally hit you. Akaashi cheated on you. He left you for another.
“Why? Why did you have to ruin this, Akaashi!” you yelled, “was this not enough?”
“I don’t know, y/n,” Akaashi began breaking down, “I regret all of it. I would give anything to turn the clock back, but I can’t! This is reality, and we both have to face it whether we like it or not!”
Pain flared in Akaashi’s chest as your eyes met his. He watched as the love you held for him slowly dissolved from your eyes. His heart fell into pieces as you walked into your shared bedroom, only to emerge moments later with a small duffle bag. He recognized it. It was the duffle bag you used when the two of you took trips. You were leaving.
Tears freely flowed down Akaashi’s face as you wordlessly brushed past him, nothing sounding in the room except your hiccups.
“Y/n,” Akaashi started, “where are you going?”
“Away,” you replied, giving no other explanation. The coldness and sadness in your voice sent knives into Akaashi’s heart, but it’s what he deserved. He couldn’t beg for your love again, or have the right to yearn for your warm embrace. He’s the one who ruined everything, so Akaashi could do nothing but helplessly watch you walk away from him, leaving him alone in a cold apartment.

“Y/n~” Your boyfriend whined, plopping his head into your lap. Your hand instinctively went to comb through his orange hair.
“What’s up?” You replied, not looking up from your phone screen. Your eyes finally met his, however, when he pushed away your hands, forcing you to look at him. One look at his pleading eyes was all it took for your heart to melt.
“Can we please go out today? The weather looks so nice,” Hinata pleaded, “Don’t you want to go to the beach?”
“But I just want to watch Netflix,” you whined.
“C’mon, baby. Please?” Hinata looked at you, bottom lip sticking out, “Let’s go outside and enjoy the sun! We can buy ice cream!”
You hesitated for a second.
“Ice cream and smoothies,” you said, “and we go to the mall tomorrow.”
Hinata sent you the brightest smile.
“Deal!”
༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
“Ugh, y/n, I love you so much,” Hinata mumbled out around a mouthful of ice cream. Giggling, you wiped the corner of his mouth.
“I love you too, baby,” you cooed back, heart swelling at the sight of his smile. Hinata didn’t understand how you still managed to give him butterflies after five years of dating, but he wasn’t complaining. The way your eyes crinkled and your nose scrunched when you laughed made him feel warm inside, and he wouldn’t trade you for the world.
“You know, I’ve been thinking a lot, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life like this with you,” you said, eyes shining with adoration as you looked at your boyfriend. The amount of love you held for the spiker in front of you was unexplainable. All you knew is he made you feel like you were on top of the world, the only thing that mattered to him.
Gasping dramatically, Hinata replied, “That’s insane, because I’ve been thinking that too!”
“Stop teasing me,” you laughed off. Hinata’s chuckles blended with yours. The spiker’s joy was cut off as guilt began rising in his stomach. Of course he wanted to spend the rest of his life with you. You were his everything, the reason he felt like he could breathe easier, the reason everything in his world was so bright. But he knew he wasn’t faithful during your relationship. Hinata didn’t even know how it happened. All he remembered was waking up in a hotel room, his legs tangled with another’s. He remembered the feeling of his stomach plummeting to his feet once he saw the mangled marks on his back.
Hinata was pulled out of his thoughts by your voice.
“Is that Bokuto?” You questioned, gaze pointed at the sandy beach. Sure enough, the wing spiker along with Atsumu were there, standing on opposite sides of a volleyball net.
“Yeah, Kageyama and Hoshiumi are there too!” Hinata excitedly pointed out, already walking towards the volleyball match. You recognized a couple of other players standing around the area.
Hinata bounded towards them, yelling out, asking if he could join. You laughed as you watched him immediately settle into a disagreement with Kageyama before he came running back towards you.
“Y/n!” Hinata panted out, “I know this was supposed to be a date, but do you mind if I play a couple matches?”
You giggled as you saw the excitement shining in his eyes.
“It’s no problem, I’ll just go shopping around the boardwalk! Call me when you’re done, but don’t play for too long,” you said, giving him a peck on the cheek.
“Yes! You’re the best! I love you,” Hinata said as he enveloped you in a hug before taking his shirt off and running back to the volleyball net. Your eyes immediately fell on his shoulders.
“Shoyo, what’s on your back?”
Hinata stopped in his tracks as his stomach fell to his feet. He had completely forgotten about the evidence of his infidelity on his back. The prospect of playing beach volleyball with his friends overtook his rationality, and now he was paying the price for it. He whipped around, eyes now wide, panic replacing the excitement that was there moments before. The hurt swimming in your eyes was enough to make his heart shatter.
“Y/n, I-” Hinata breathed out, unable to form a complete sentence. The spiker felt his knees go weak as he watched you turn around and walk away from him, shoulders shaking. It wasn’t until he heard you say, ‘I won’t be going back to the apartment tonight, don’t wait up’ that he scrambled for his shirt, shoving it over his head as he attempted to catch up to you.
“Y/n, please wait! Let me explain-” Hinata ran after you. He stopped in his tracks, eyes wide, when you turned around. Nothing but hurt blazed in your eyes as you looked him in the eyes.
“Explain what, Hinata? Did you want to go into detail about how you fucked someone else? Was simply cheating on me not enough? You don’t get to hurt me more than you already have,” you spewed back at him, venom laced in your words. Hinata’s face crumpled into sobs.
“No, y/n, that’s not it at all. I never wanted to hurt you, not ever! I’m so pathetic! I can’t even remember how it happened. It never should have happened, I can’t lose you like this,” Hinata sobbed, falling to his knees at your feet. The thought of losing you sent Hinata’s mind into a panic. His hands scrambled to find yours, clasping to them for dear life. You scoffed at his actions.
“Get up,” you said, looking away from his figure. Hinata hopefully looked up, hoping you would give him the chance to make it up to you. His hopes were shattered, however, when he met your eyes. Instead of the care and affection he was hoping to see, he was met with nothing but embarrassment and putrid hate.
“You’re making a scene. People are staring,” you said, looking around you, “I told you, I’m not going back to the apartment tonight. I’ll grab my stuff later.”
“I’m sorry,” Hinata choked out, “I’m so sorry for everything. Please, you deserve better. Someone who won’t forget what he has in front of him. Someone who will cradle your heart and give you everything you deserve. I love you, y/n. I’m so sorry.”
“I wish I could believe you when you say ‘I love you’, but we both know it’s not true at this point. No loving boyfriend would cheat,” you said lowly, energy drained from the situation.
“No, y/n. Please, if anything, trust that I love you with all of my being, and I would do anything to try and fix this. I can’t imagine my life without you, let me fix this!” Hinata sobbed.
“You should’ve thought about that before you ruined everything,” you said as you looked into his eyes. Tears pooled in both of your eyes. The hurt and regret was evident on the spiker’s face, but you couldn’t give in.
“Goodbye, Hinata.”

One Hell of a Logical Ruse Part 1
Reader: F
Characters: Aizawa Shouta (Eraserhead)
Summary: Shouta loves a good game of cat and mouse, unfortunately for you the game’s a little rigged. This is somewhat of an experiment to try and write a smut scene from the male POV. Disclaimer I am not a man so uh yeah lmao.
Based off the pre-established fic You’re Ours to Protect.
Length: 4.5K
Warnings: non-con, yandere themes, vaginal fingering, vaginal sex, praise kink
Tumblr media
Aizawa Shouta was a rational man. He did his best to adhere to logic, and to never waste time with unnecessary action. And yet despite this, he absolutely loved watching you try to escape. You were pretty clever, even without him “accidentally” forgetting to lock the second story window that just so happened to be above some forgivingly soft shrubbery.
You probably would have figured some way out on your own, but something feral inside him didn’t want to wait around for you to act. Normally it was his ever-loud husband Hizashi that fell flat when it came to the notion of patience, but today he would relent to his own selfish desires.
Toshinori would have been utterly distressed had he been aware of the sleepy pros scheme. The number one was a man of swift action, seemingly never thinking twice before charging fist first into danger. He would not be happy Shouta was playing with you like this, but Toshinori and Hizashi wouldn’t be made aware of his little game with you. After all they had no idea he set this up, so they might genuinely try to punish you. He’d keep it quiet once he caught you and pretend it’s your little secret. Maybe you’d even be a little grateful if you believed he was saving your skin.
He rationalized his behavior by telling himself you seemed so bored, truly this was the perfect way to stimulate your mind and body. So when he heard the telltale sound of a body landing in bushes on the back side of the house he simply started a timer for 20 minutes to give you a bit of a head start.
Was it cruel to get your hopes up like this? Perhaps, but he’d make sure to fuck you senseless to alleviate the disappointment. After all, if you were a good girl you’d have settled into your life with them already. But you really did enjoy testing them, which brought out the side of him that wanted to put you in your place.
Giving himself a once over he made sure he had everything he would need for your inevitable return home. Well, now that you were basically quirkiness, all he needed was his capture weapon just in case you put up a struggle. He hadn’t decided yet if he was going to fuck you when he caught you, or if he was going to haul your cute ass home first.
Thinking about plowing into you with adrenaline still pumping through his veins from the hunt had some blood rushing below his belt. Well he could always just do both.
The shrill ringing of his phones alarm brought him back from his wandering thoughts. With a sadistic grin stretching wide across his face he headed for the front door.
-----
Three weeks. Three fucking weeks trapped inside that house with three insane men. Sure they might not beat you or starve you, but the constant belittling, undermining and infantilizing was about to drive you to insanity yourself. You almost jumped for joy when you noticed an unlocked window on the second floor in Hizashi’s and Shouta’s room. The blond man had a bad habit of using too much cologne, and his dark-haired counterpart was always having to air out the room when the radio star went overboard.
Eraserhead was normally very diligent about ensuring the window was sealed tight, but last night Toshinori had come home in a flurry of smoke and blood, sending his blond junior into hysterics. It was nothing serious, unfortunately, but Shouta had been the one to calm Hizashi and tend to the number ones injuries. Amidst all the ruckus he had left the window unlocked.
You knew Shouta would soon realize his mistake and lock the window down tight, leaving you with a small time frame to enact your grand escape. It wasn't ideal, but the best you had been able to do was wait for both blonds to leave, trapping you in the house with Shouta. Normally he let you be during the day, opting to nap and grade what appeared to be homework. Hopefully today would seem like just another day, and he wouldn’t think to check on you until dinner approached.
You found yourself perched on the window sill, ready to take flight. All you had were the clothes on your back, not wanting to make any suspicious noises that would tip you off. On the count of three you braced yourself and pushed off from the ledge, landing on the bushes below with a thud.
Fuck, that was a bit louder than you had anticipated. Ignoring your growing anxiety, you made quick work of escaping the clutches of the now flattened bush and took off into the woods on the back half of the house.
Your heart was hammering like mad in your chest as you sprinted as fast as you could. It was hardly fair that it was your first time outside in three weeks and you couldn’t even slow down to take it all in. Thankfully it was spring, meaning you wouldn’t have to worry about the cold. All you needed to do was find someone to get this stupid quirk canceling collar off and then you could safely recede into the background, making sure the three pros never found you again.
Easier said than done when one of those pros was All Might, and the other two were just as formidable, but you’d be damned if you didn’t try. You did your best to not leave a trail behind, but knew once Shouta figured out you were gone he’d have no trouble tracing your tracks. It was the unfortunately shitty reality you were dealing with.
Were you really going to be able to escape? Even now as you ran as fast as you could it felt like a fruitless endeavor. There were too many variables that had to line up perfectly in order for you to pull this off, and as you ran directionless through the woods no viable solutions were coming to you. Hell, even now your lungs were burning from exertion, legs begging you to stop.
But if there was one thing that you were it was stubborn. Stubborn to a fault sometimes, and so you pushed onwards. After what felt like an eternity of non-stop running you slowed to a walk. The forest seemed never ending, taunting you with its sprawling army of trees and shrubbery. You decided to be more mindful of the tracks you were leaving, veering off course in a way that would hopefully go undetected.
Now no longer running you simply kept your steps quiet and ears alert in case Shouta had already discovered your absence. He was good at his work, but even he had limitations.
-----
Shouta had to give credit where credit was due, you were better at this than he thought you’d be. If you were his student he’d be proud, but you were his prey so he was a bit annoyed. At first your tracks had been sloppy, easy to follow and incredibly straight forward. At some point though you had changed your approach, footsteps almost vanishing as you adopted a new tactic.
He found himself crouching low, inspecting leaves to see which you had accidentally broken. There were no more snapped limbs as you carefully maneuvered through the woods. If he wasn’t a pro at hunting people down you probably would have been able to evade him, but this was his livelihood.
Ever so carefully he followed your almost invisible trail. He had you beat in endurance so you’d have to settle somewhere eventually, and without food and water you were at a distinct disadvantage. Everything was lining up in his favor as he intended, even if you were making this a little harder than expected.
The anticipation of catching a glimpse of you, of watching you realize he was there and taking off, made his heart beat faster. The longer you evaded him, the more time he had to come up with a fun punishment for you.
-----
The sun had been directly overhead at the beginning of your escape, and was now kissing the horizon. Oranges and reds were thrown about the woods as the creatures of the night began to wake from their slumber. You listened to see if you could hear the chirping of frogs to find a water source but no luck.
There was no doubt in your mind that Shouta was 110% aware of your absence by now and was probably hot on your trail. You were zigzagging a bit, trying your best to not disturb the forest floor while making it harder to track you. Dammit this was the fucking worst, it had to have been at least 6 hours in these woods, and without any food or water you were famished.
And yet despite wandering about for 6 fucking hours you had yet to see anything besides the woods. Maybe you should just give up, sit down and accept defeat and whatever punishment you had awaiting you. You couldn’t help but shiver a bit at the fear of what that would entail.
As dusk quickly turned dark you debated on whether or not you were going to rest for the night. Visibility would be lower, giving you a slight edge, but Eraserhead was a night owl meaning you were entering his domain of peak performance. There was also no guessing if he was the only one looking for you. All Might could move faster than you could even comprehend and Present Mic was fine-tuned when it came to noise location.
Sighing in annoyance as your wayward thoughts shot holes through your confidence you decided to find somewhere to try and lay down for a bit. If all three were out hunting you down they could take turns and overlap the time so you never got to rest. As busy as they should be with hero work they always seemed to find too much time to hover around you.
Spotting some dense shrubbery, you crossed your fingers that any creepy crawlies would keep to themselves and carefully began to conceal yourself. Perhaps one of them would pass by and you could gain some intel. If you were lucky they’d write this area off after not finding you and search elsewhere.
Settling as comfortably as one could in a bush you closed your eyes and did your best to focus on the sounds around you. The melodic chirping of crickets was the most overwhelming of all the sounds. Skittering of small forest animals echoing around as well. Your mind began to desensitize to those sounds, the lack of adrenaline that pushed you along at the start of all this causing it to dip into unconsciousness.
That was until you heard the distinct snap of a branch. Eyes flying open you were on high alert as you kept still. You tried to hear if there would be any follow up sounds, knowing something of a decent size had to have broken the branch. If it had been a deer they would have simply kept moving, which made you all the more anxious.
“No more tracks kitten, I know you’re here somewhere. This little game dragged on a lot longer than I had anticipated so it seems there won’t be any way to hide this from Zashi and Toshinori.”
You wanted to scream. Even though you had tried your best it simply wasn’t enough against Eraserhead.
“If you come out kitten I’ll give you one last shot to run. Those bushes over there look like a mighty fine hiding spot for someone of your size.” His voice was pointed directly towards you.
FUCK. You couldn’t tell if he was bluffing or not at this point but he knew you were here, might as well come out with some dignity before he dragged you out kicking and screaming.
The bush rustled loudly as you forced your way out. You were tired, famished and most of all so frustrated you wanted to cry. You didn’t even need to look at him to know he had a condescending smirk plastered to his face.
“There’s my pretty kitty, did you have fun outside?”
Shouta knew just what to say to strike a nerve, but you held your tongue. “One last shot to run. You said so yourself. Ditch the capture weapon and catch me like a man, I mean unless you don’t think you can. I’m already quirkiness which is your gimmick on a regular day, so really you're just beating on someone while they're already down.” You looked up now, glaring at him as his smile grew in amusement.
“I’m going to have to be a lot more physical without it you know, I’ll have no choice but you manhandle you.”
“I’d rather take my chances.” You knew even without his capture weapon you didn’t stand much of a chance of escape. Your only goal now was to try and see how much he was willing to handicap himself.
“Gonna give me a head start or are you going to just run as soon as I do?”
At this Shouta had to keep himself from snarking back at you. He had already given you a head start, but if he told you this was all set up you’d probably lose the will to fight on. “Five minutes. I’ll give you five minutes to run as far as you can and then I’ll come after you,” he said while pulling out his phone.
“What about Toshinori and Hizashi?”
“At the house. I told them I’d handle this, Toshinori will be coming to get us though once I tell him game over. We’re pretty deep in the woods and I don’t feel like walking back for six hours.”
You nodded at his words. So it was just the two of you then. Your combat skills were nothing to write home about, but maybe if you fought dirty you could gain the upper hand.
“Alright, tell me when.”
“Oh, I already started it. You have 4 minutes and 17 seconds.”
Fucking asshole. You took off sprinting, running as fast as you could, only opting to slow to a jog once you thought you were out of earshot. You wanted him to believe you’d be trying your damndest to put distance between the two of you. But you knew you’d never outrun him. Instead you were going to continue jogging for a bit, counting down the seconds in your head so you didn’t lose track your timer.
Once your remaining time was up you were going to lay low and try to ambush him. He wouldn’t be paying as close attention to your trail since he knew he could easily catch up.
After the remaining 4 minutes had passed you found a decent sized tree to hide behind and worked on slowing down your breathing. It felt like your heart was going to chisel its way straight through your bones, your limbs trembling with anxiety. It wasn’t often you were hunted back when you were an anti-hero. Not many people knew who you were which made it incredibly easy to be looked over.
Scooping up handfuls of dirt you waited. You heard him before you saw him. He wasn’t bothering to take it slow, seemingly eager to get it over with. He ran right past you, noticing you a second too late as dirt and debris were chucked straight into his face.
He yelled out in surprise, hands reaching out to grab you but you jumped out of reach. True to his word his capture weapon was nowhere in sight. Screaming in anger you lunged at him, nails attempting to claw his face but his own larger hands were working on wiping off your dirt assault, effectively blocking you.
He stumbled back a bit, unprepared for your hostility, before steadying himself and turning the tables back on you. In one swift motion his fist collided with your gut, forcing the air from your lungs. Your arms came down to protect where he had hit as you wheezed pathetically. Seconds later his larger frame came crashing into you, easily knocking you to the ground.
You cried out in pain, head hitting the ground a bit too hard as stars danced behind your eyes.
“Not very smart of you Y/N, I mean it beats trying to outrun me, but really? Dirt? It’s like you want me to punish you or something.”
“GET OFF ME!”
Placing a hand on the back of your head he pushed you down while his other arm pulled the lower half of your body flush against him. You could feel his erection pressing up against your ass.
You were a snarling sobbing mess at this point. All your emotions crashing down at once as you thrashed below Shouta.
“Easy now easy, calm down kitten. You did really good, better than I thought you were going to. If you calm down I might be willing to reduce your punishment, but you have to stop throwing a fit first.”
Despite his words Shouta was enjoying almost every second of your thrashing. The only thing he didn’t enjoy was knowing how disappointed you were right now. Anyone would be after coming so far. Now was his chance to make it up to you before giving Toshinori the go ahead.
As your struggles subsided the only movement from your body was from your gentle sobs. Shouta for his part was slowly grinding his hard cock against your ass as he softly shushed you.
“I know you’re disappointed kitten but I’ll make you feel better. If you’re a good girl for me I’ll be willing to look past that little dirt tactic. You’re such a smart girl though, you really did catch me by surprise.”
Leaning down he began to whisper into your ear, removing the hand from your head and bringing it down to your clothed pussy.
“You always were resourceful, it’s one of the things I fell in love with about you. If only you were a hero, but then again if you were I wouldn’t have had the fun of hunting you down.”
You felt your stomach drop at his words. All three of them enjoyed reminiscing about how they first saw you and all their subsequent actions that lead to your imprisonment. The effort they had put into bringing you “home”. It was beyond disturbing.
“Please Shouta, not here. Can we, can we just go home first?”
“Maybe if I had found you 4 hours ago, but right now you’re treading on very thin ice. Be a good girl for me and I’ll make sure Hizashi and Toshinori don’t punish you too harshly when we get back.”
His large hand was pawing at your clothed sex, black hair draping over your own face as his body curled around you. He slowly rutted against you, excited huffs of air ghosting across the side of your face. You could practically feel his heart vibrating against your back he was so worked up.
He gently rubbed his stubble against the side of your face, composure slipping a bit. While Shouta absolutely loved how feisty you could be, nothing compared to when you submitted to him. He craved the feeling of your tired body giving in to his ministrations, but he needed more.
His hand quickly slipped between your pants and underwear, index finger eagerly aiming for your folds. He couldn’t care less that you were sweaty and dirty from the hunt. Right now all he could think about was the softness of your exposed flesh, and much to his delight, the slight wetness to your outer lips.
“Seems like someone likes being caught more than they let on hmm kitten?”
He couldn't help but taunt you a bit, loving the way you sniffled and whimpered beneath him. You knew when to behave yourself, when to be good for him. Arousal was flooding his veins. The way it felt to rub himself against your perfect ass, even through layers of clothes, had his mind blanking out.
Your core was warm, even without him dipping a finger inside. Gently he began to delve deeper, gathering up your arousal to spread around. Your pants were starting to bother him a bit, retracting his hands he made quick work of not only your bottoms, but his as well. You remained still for him, opting to sulk like a child as he prepared to ravish you.
You were too cute like this, and with the lower half of your body on full display he couldn't help but groan in delight. Bringing a hand down he slapped your ass hard, mesmerized by the way your flesh gave way. You yelped in surprise, body rutting forward. His cock twitched as he palmed your sore flesh, cooing softly in apology. You glared back at him, pretty little face set in a pout.
As much as he wanted to slap your ass until you cried for him to stop he restrained himself. Although this was a punishment, he had set you up. He would go easy on you, not forgetting his promise to himself to help you forget the frustration you were feeling right now.
Whenever you got angry you opted to stop talking, instead waiting for a moment of weakness to strike or quietly accept your fate. Judging by your defeated expression he could safely assume the latter
Folding himself over you he brought his hand back down to your pussy, thumb working slow circles on your clit while he middle finger delved deeper. Your entrance was a bit tight, but with gentle persistence he worked his way inside.
Your velvety inner walls clamped down on him. He couldn’t help but rut his aching cock against your bare ass as his mind drifted to the feeling of you clamping down on his arousal instead. Your whines of protest only further spurring on his overwhelming need to be inside you.
Adding a second finger he began to pump into you with a bit more urgency. Your slick was quickly coating his hand as he hit all the spots he knew would work you up to your orgasm. Groaning in delight he brought his lips to your exposed neck, sucking and nipping at your soft flesh.
He loved when he could tell you were getting close. Your warm walls would clamp down on him, breathy mewls and moans escaping your soft lips. You were rocking back into him, uncaring of the fact that you were grinding against him as you chased your release. In these moments you abandoned your resolve to fight against him, and he happily took advantage of that. After all, if your body knew what you wanted, surely your mind would catch up one day.
Your moans were more audible now, hands grasping at the forest floor. Your back was arched into him, desperate to use him. So close, you were so close he knew it, and right before you could finish he pulled his hand away. He laughed as you huffed in frustration.
“Shouta pl-please.” Fuck, he loved it when you begged. It didn’t happen often with how stubborn you were but when it did he knew he had to comply.
Instead of verbally responding he opted to do what he wanted to all night long. Lining up the tip of his cock to your entrance he groaned at the heat radiating off you. Pumping his hand along his length a couple times to lube himself up with your excess fluid he pushed the tip in. You stilled beneath him, and in one swift movement he fully sheathed himself.
His mind went blank as you cried out in pleasure, wet walls convulsing around him as your orgasm tore through you. He held still, opting to gently pet you while cooing softly down at you. Before he met you, even with Hizashi, he had never been very vocal during sex. But now he couldn’t stop himself from babbling a bit, praising you for being such a good girl.
As your body stilled in his arms he continued to plant kisses along your delicate neck. Your soft sniffles made his heart clench a bit, how was it possible for you to be so damn cute?
“Alright kitten now it’s my turn. No pulling anything stupid, I won’t take long.”
This whole hunt had been one giant tease, working him up in a way he normally wouldn’t allow himself. Pulling out he groaned at the feeling of his cock sliding against you. Moving his hands he grabbed your waist, eyes transfixed on where you were joined. Your back was arched as you braced yourself on your elbows, presenting yourself to him.
His mind clouded over, blood opting to drag his attention elsewhere. He began to push back in, desperate to feel you surrounding him. Setting a tempo he pulled about halfway out before slamming back in, loving the way your body moved as you bounced off him.
His hands dug into your supple flesh, possibly leaving bruises. He could feel the oncoming of his own orgasm, the muscles in his lower abdomen pulsating. He was panting, heart racing in his rib cage as his eyes rolled back into his head. He didn’t have the patience to edge himself today, he needed this, needed you.
He loved hearing the way your breath was forced from your lungs when he fully sheathed himself inside you. He knew he was overstimulating you a bit, but the part of him that needed to find his own release didn’t pay that fact much mind. All he could think about was the way it felt to be one with you, lost inside your soft warmth.
After only a couple more minutes of relentlessly pounding into you he couldn’t hold it back any longer. A wave like sensation rushed through his body as his hips stuttered. He folded over you, wrapping his arms around you as he felt his hot cum rush through his cock and fill your body. The emotions rushing through him as he released into you, the woman he loved, were indescribable.
It didn’t take long for his muscles to relax, euphoria swept away by the need to take a nap washing over him. You had long since stopped crying, remaining motionless beneath him. He wondered what was going through your mind as he held you flush against him.
“Sho-Shouta.” So meek, so quiet. His heart fluttered a bit. “Can we go home now... I want to take a shower.”
Chuckling softly he pulled himself out, groaning a bit at the feeling of overstimulation as your warm walls dragged against him. Leaning away he smiled as his cum leaked out your pussy.
“Yes kitten we can go home. I’ll make sure to clean you up.”
You groaned in protest, hating when they insisted on washing you. He knew you liked your privacy but Hizashi and Toshinori were still going to want to punish you. He’d keep close by to keep them from being too harsh.
Pulling up his pants he fished his phone out of his pocket, rolling his eyes at the sheer quantity of missed calls from the two aforementioned. Poor little kitten, it didn’t look like you’d be getting off easy.

A Story (Alec Volturi x Reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You opened your eyes, sitting up straight. Your back was stiff. You were in your bathtub, fully clothed, soaked. The bathwater threatening to spill over and freezing. You frowned. “I need to stop drinking.” You grumbled before rolling out of the tub. You groaned, too sore to even consider standing up. You’d clean the mess later. You crawled into your bedroom before flopping onto the floor. This had to be the last time you drank, it had to be. Better ignoring that you definitely could have drowned, since you were so intoxicated that you tried to take a bath and didn't even take off your clothes. You couldn’t even remember the night before so really, it wasn’t worth it. Whilst you didn’t have a headache, thankfully, you just felt tired...and cold. Phone, where was it? You groaned, a sudden feeling you had left it in the bathroom. You didn't see it around your room and it wasn't in any pockets thankfully. With a sigh, you figured you couldn’t avoid the day any longer, although it would be very nice to try. Regardless, you slowly got up and trudged back into the bathroom.
Your phone was on the floor, next to the bath. A couple of water droplets lay on the screen but remained undamaged...although it had twenty percent battery left. You had two missed calls from Alice. You checked your texts to find none. You decided to call Carlisle who picked up after two rings.  “Hello?”  “Carlisle, it’s (Y/N).” You said.  “Hello, are you okay?”  “Yeah, i’m good. I just...do you know if i was drinking last night?” Carlisle seemed amused. “No, why?”  “Oh, no reason. I just, woke up weird and tired.”  “Im sure you could have done that without alcohol.”You could hear his smile in his voice. You hummed in amusement.  “Are you coming to visit today?”  “Yeah, I can do that.”  “I just wanted to check since you said you would yesterday?” Carlisle responded. “I did? I must have forgotten but yeah, i can do that. I’ll come over later. I’m going to take a nap first, okay?”  “Alright, I’ll see you soon.”  “Bye, Carlisle.”
When you arrived at the Cullen’s, they seemed as though they were waiting.  “The Volturi are coming to visit.” Carlisle informed you.  “The who?” You made a face of confusion.  “The Volturi.”  “I’m going to assume thats some vampire friends i don’t know about.” You shrugged. Carlisle turned to you with a look of confusion of his own. “You’ve-” He paused. Carlisle's eyes widened, a sickening thought rushed through him. Panic rushed through Carlisle realising the likelihood of his thought become more and more likely. "Stay here for a while. We have guests, I believe you'll have met them before." Carlisle swallowed hard trying not to scare you. You lightly shrugged.
A group of seven arrived, all dressed in black and grey with cloaks, varying in the same colours. You could tell they were an older coven with how they moved. You were given their names and noted the odd looks they gave you. You figured it was down to being human, you were a big no-no from what you remember. "Do you know these people?" Carlisle asked you before putting his hand into Aro's in a weird bizarre handshake. You shook your head. "No. We haven't met." Carlisle inhaled.
This made Esme step towards you. "(Y/N), why don't you help me in the kitchen?" She smiled. "Carlisle will get our guests settled in before you make their acquaintance." You nodded. "Sure thing, Esme." Without a second glance you turned, heading for the kitchen, Esme sending Carlisle a glance.
Half an hour passed and Esme led you to the living room where the Volturi awaited your presence. Your eyes immediately shot to Carlisle, nervous about meeting his friends but he nodded in encouragement. The leader in the middle was the first to greet you. "You must be young (Y/N), we've heard so much about you. We are delighted to meet you. My name is Aro." "Hi...it's nice to meet you too." You nodded. He held out a hand and you hesitantly reached out thinking it was a handshake. Instead, he cradled your hand in his own briefly. A flicker of an unrecognisable emotion passing his face before his wide smile returned. "These are my brothers, Caius and Marcus." The two men beside him nodded to you and you offered them shy smiles. He gestured to who you were told were their guards. "This is Jane, Alec, Demetri and Felix." You nodded. "Hi." You said nervously as the four nodded at you. Later that night you huddled into your seat. "So you guys have been around for a long time?" You asked looking over the Volturi members. "Yes. Quite." Aro smiled slightly. "Do you guys have any good stories? Surely you've got at least one after all this time." The Volturi looked around amongst each other, Marcus kept his head down whilst the Cullen's looked around uncertain of how to continue the conversation. Marcus spoke up, meeting your gaze. "I have a story. It was quite some time ago but I believe it's one our coven cherishes." All eyes were on Marcus, uncertain just what he was doing. However, you seemed pleased. "I'd love to hear it...if you're willing to tell it." "I believe it would be a good one to tell." Marcus nodded. "This is a story about a human we once knew, one who after all this time will continue to be very special to us."
(Y/N) caught Alec in their sights as he approached the door to the spare bedroom. "Alec!" They cried out with a grin. "You're here!" "So are you." Alec said peeking around the door. "What are you doing here? You don't live here." Alec couldn't help the amused smirk building upon his face as he watched (Y/N) struggle to reach for something on top of the closet. "I'm visiting but...! I can't reach my folder! I left it here the last time I stayed over. It has all my documents in there." With a defeated sigh, (Y/N) began to drag themselves down the closet doors. "I'd offer my assistance but I don't think I can't do anything without damaging furniture." Alec pondered. Alec's eyes suddenly glinted, clearly having an idea. "Come here." Alec bent down. "What am I doing?" They asked with confusion. "You're going to sit on my shoulders and I'll lift you up." Alec responded. (Y/N) made a noise of protest but couldn't think of a reason why. They couldn't necessarily tell him you were too heavy, tall or would hurt him given Alec was inhumanly strong. "...Promise you won't drop me?" They asked him. Alec looked unimpressed. "I have no reason to drop you now, come on." (Y/N) whined quietly in defeat once again moving to Alec.
As they got into position they looked down at him nervously. "You're sure I won't hurt you?" (Y/N) asked and Alec rolled his eyes, wrapping his hands around their ankles and standing up with ease. (Y/N) squealed, although it seemed Alec was right. He wouldn't drop them. "Oh it's all the way at the back, I bet Emmett did that. Can you take a step forward please?" Alec complied and suddenly the folder was in arm's length. (Y/N) grabbed it. "Thank you!" "Did you know that it's very likely you couldn't get down now that I have a hold of your ankles?" Alec smirked and (Y/N)’s smile of accomplishment vanished. "You'd get tired quickly." They retorted. "Would I? Shall we see how long I last?" Alec responded. "If you don't put me down, I'll eventually pee on you. It's inevitable." Alec immediately pulled a face of disgust, crouching back down and letting (Y/N) stand up.  "So are you visiting the Cullen's or have you broke in? Oh! Oh! Did you run away from the Volturi and so have sought shelter with the Cullen's?" They asked. He scoffed. "My coven is visiting to check the progress of the hybrid." Alec answered.
Later that night, (Y/N) and Alec were outside, sitting on the Cullen's balcony floor. "Why do you need those? Those documents?" Alec asked turning his head towards them. "Oh, it's just stuff to keep the state happy. It's documents saying that Carlisle is my emergency contact and stuff, he's my legal guardian though I'm not living with him. I'm in contact with him frequently and he gives me money for my house. All of that stuff. Boring really." "You still haven't been in contact with your parents?" Alec asked and (Y/N) smiled at him sadly before shaking their head. "You should reach out, (Y/N). The argument was a typical one. They have no reason to hold a grudge against their own child for this long over something so trivial." "It's a little more complicated than that. Although I guess deep down, I like to think that maybe I do have their forgiveness." They admitted. "You didn't do anything wrong. Besides, for the last option, you could always make them forget the argument ever happened and avoid the topic forever." Alec smirked at (Y/N) who playfully shoved him. "Thanks Alec." They said with sarcasm. "It'll be okay, I assure you." Alec said to them. "They'll come around if they aren't already waiting for you to come back to them."
(Y/N)’s gift was phenomenal. Unique but dangerous due to its impact. They could make people forget things, everything really. Whether it were, events memories or thoughts, none of them were exempt. The only person it didn't work on was themselves. Since meeting the Cullen's and eventually Alec, (Y/N) had better control of their gift making them a very tempting addition to Aro's collection. Although that was still very much in discussion. Whilst they'd have to be changed at some point, it wasn't consensus that they were to join the Volturi. As a matter of fact, it was highly debated among both covens instead.
"You talk about my ability like you can trust me with it. I'm still learning, you could be forgotten at any time." Alec chuckled. "First of all, it doesn't work on yourself. Secondly, you don't forget someone like me." Alec's smile faded. "Not for good reasons, might I add." "Good reasons for me... you've been nicer to me lately." (Y/N) said. "I'm trying...it's not your fault you're human." Alec smirked slightly. (Y/N) narrowed your eyes on him playfully. "It's all I can ask." Alec wasn't the most open individual nor the kindest. He certainly had nothing nice to say about (Y/N) when they first met. Although over time, he gradually warmed up to them- even if it was reluctantly. Now (Y/N) felt like Alec understood them better than anyone in the world and accepted them. It made their bond to him stronger than most bonds could ever be. (Y/N) was confident that a piece of them would always be connected to Alec, nothing could divide them from him.
None of the Volturi really understood why Carlisle had a form of guardianship over (Y/N) and what a conflict with their parents actually meant for them to no longer be around their parents. Whilst the Volturi wanted to respect their privacy, it was important to them if (Y/N) were to become a vampire eventually. It was necessary to have the details. Although even being close with Alec didn't give them any answers as (Y/N) never told him any complete details.
There was an argument about (Y/N) wanting to be independent, treated less like a child and since then, they hadn't been near them since. Whilst this seemed logical that (Y/N) left, it didn't make sense why their parents hadn't reached out to them in so long. So much so (Y/N) was convinced that they couldn't be forgiven.
Marcus asked (Y/N) about their parents when talking one night. "Do they know about your gift?" He asked. (Y/N) wanted to wince at the reference of their ability being a 'gift' when there was very little actually pleasant about it. "No, they don't. I never told them and after that argument, I guess I had made up my mind they could never know."  "Do you miss them?" Marcus asked. "I try to forget about them if I'm honest." (Y/N) answered. This response made Marcus tilt his head slightly. They looked at him, really scrutinizing him. Marcus was the most kind and gentle of the Volturi leaders. (Y/N) couldn't help but trust him, especially after he came to defence of their friendship with Alec to anyone who questioned it. Marcus had always made it clear that the bond Alec shared with them was undeniable. "Can I tell you the full story?" "If you wish." Marcus said quietly.
(Y/N) could remember the moment that their house stopped being your home. Everything was as it always had been. Signs of life, nothing missing from it's usual place. However, it was no longer welcoming as it had been before. Even the photographs of (Y/N) and their family, scattered around the place. Things were different now. Instead of a family, there were just memories of one. It took some time for (Y/N) to understand how their gift worked. Although they were forced to learn the hard way. (Y/N) had been arguing with their parents when (Y/N) said something about forgetting (Y/N) ever existed. Their parents did. They never had any children by that name. Nor had they ever seen (Y/N) before. All memories of them gone in a matter of moments. From then on (Y/N) could only see their parents from a distance, outside their house. Their parents wondered why they had pictures with the strange person in their house and got rid of them too. "I wanted to remember every inch of them as they were. Their eyes, nose, mouth, hair. Every tiny detail, because I knew after today. I'd never see them again." (Y/N) told Marcus. "Why are you so determined to pretend this didn't happen rather than embrace it and carry on?" Marcus asked. There was a moment of silence. Neither of the two looking at one another. "You rejected Corin's gift when offered comfort after your loss. Why?" (Y/N) responded. Marcus thought about the answer but it didn't require much thought. He had spent decades thinking about that decision and why he made it. "Because I wanted to feel the pain. I didn't want to feel content about her death." (Y/N) thought over his answer before replying, sadness almost radiating from them. "See that's where you and I differ. I want nothing more than to forget." Their voice was quieter as they looked down at their hands. It was safe to say, Alec was furious at (Y/N) when he found they had left out such an important detail when it came to why their parents didn't speak to them. (Y/N) had more than one chance to tell him and they didn't. It felt like a betrayal, like they had lied. Alec only ever asked (Y/N) to be honest with him, no secrets. This secret was a pretty big one at the very least. (Y/N), on the other hand, didn't think anything wrong with that. They were allowed some privacy like every other person. They were sure Alec didn't tell them everything so why should they share something they simply hadn't been ready to speak about until that moment. It was how the argument had began and it seemed the more defensive (Y/N) got, the more angry Alec became.
"This isn't a big deal, you're making something out of nothing!" (Y/N) said with exasperation. "It is something, (Y/N)! You didn't trust me with the full story and you told Marcus! Even Carlisle knew!" "Carlisle had to know!" (Y/N) argued back. "If he didn't I'd have been taken by social services! I told Marcus because I was ready to talk about it and I knew he wouldn't make a big deal out of it! It was nothing to do with trust!" Alec scoffed sending them a sneer. That was when their anger had begun to really build. "Am I honestly supposed to believe that you tell me everything!?" (Y/N) snapped. "That's different! There are parts of my life that aren't necessary and would only scare you." "Like your complete lack of trust and hatred towards humans for being burned at the stake? Like the dark, twisted things you and your coven have done in the name of justice?" "You don't know what you're talking about." Alec said icily. "You're just a little human who thinks they know everything when they know nothing. I have given you no reason not to trust me-" "Alec, I didn't do anything to you! Ever! I didn't accuse you of witch craft! So what did I ever do to you like the rest of the human population!?" Alec laughed darkly. "Of course, you wouldn't understand. How could I expect you to? You're only human."
(Y/N) was stunned into silence before fury took over them. "You are cold." (Y/N) said, anger and disgust in their eyes. "Cold and empty. So empty you have to suck out the life of everyone around you to feel even an ounce of emotion. Perhaps that is what your village  saw in you! Perhaps that's what Aro sees in you! A monster just like the rest of your coven!" (Y/N) looked taken aback by their own words, stunned. When they saw the look of growing rage upon Alec's face, they knew they had done it again. Like they had with your parents, they lashed out with hurtful words they didn't mean. Alec was very hurt. (Y/N) knew by the emotion overpowering his stoic gaze. "I'm so sorry." (Y/N) whispered, their anger rushing away as they began to feel nothing but guilt. The look Alec gave (Y/N) could kill but instead he began to walk by them. (Y/N) reached out for him, grabbing his hand. "Alec, wait-" They began but gasped as they immediately felt cold numbness crawl up their arm. Alec roughly tore their hand off him and they were so caught off guard that they didn't even notice the slight pain you felt within their fingers. Suddenly (Y/N) felt like they were on fire.
(Y/N) screamed, collapsing to the ground, seeing Jane was now beside her brother. The two watched (Y/N) scream without sympathy. "So that's how you really feel." Jane said simply. Alice and Carlisle were quick to rush by the twins and towards (Y/N). "Enough! Not in my house!" Carlisle barked.  The pain stopped, only (Y/N)’s hysterical crying being heard. "I didn't mean it!" They cried out as Alice pulled them into a hug, hushing them. "It's okay." She told (Y/N). "You're okay."
It was obvious that all the Cullen's and the Volturi knew what had happened and surprisingly enough the Volturi also seemed rather angry by (Y/N)’s outburst. Alec had made it known, (Y/N) wasn’t worth his time. (Y/N)’s true feelings had finally come to light. Yet none of the Volturi seemed to believe them when they said it wasn't true. Despite knowing (Y/N) sometimes said things they didn't mean. The last time they had seen their parents being one of them.
It had been Marcus that suggested the two covens separated for the night for some space. Especially since the Volturi hadn't fed yet. However, much to (Y/N)’s surprise, someone of the Volturi had phoned the Cullen's. Whoever it was, was asking on the leaders behalf how they were. If (Y/N) had to guess it was Marcus. If they were hopeful, Alec would want to know too. (Y/N) stared at Carlisle, who stood at the entrance way. "Marcus wants to know if you're okay." Carlisle said. "However I'm not entirely sure what to tell him. So, how are you (Y/N)?" (Y/N) slowly met his eyes. They looked exhausted from how upset they had been. "Tell him what he wants to hear. Tell him that I'm fine." Their voice croaked slightly. "I don't think I can do that." Carlisle said softly. "Why?" (Y/N) responded flatly. "You're asking me to lie for you." Carlisle replied. "He thinks I'm a monster. So it's better he thinks that way." Carlisle began to protest but Esme appeared with the phone. "Would you be willing to speak to him?" Carlisle asked, taking the phone from Esme. Even as Carlisle put it on speaker, Marcus asked if (Y/N) was alright. He even acknowledged that Jane's behaviour wasn't necessary. Somewhat of an apology. However (Y/N) stayed put, simply staring at the phone. After another few moments of silence, Carlisle took the phone off speaker before putting the phone to his ear. "My apologies, Marcus. I don't think they're feeling well enough to come to the phone right now. They appreciate your concern." "Of course, Carlisle." Marcus responded. "I thought it best to express my concern given Jane's gift." Marcus lifted his gaze to the twins, Jane looking indifferent whilst Alec's eyes were latched onto Marcus. "Emotions are high right now, would you appreciate our return tomorrow?" "Of course." Carlisle responded. "I'm going to keep (Y/N) here over night to keep an eye on them but I'm sure they will be just fine." After some more conversation, Marcus bid farewell and hung up the phone.
He turned to Alec. "I assure you, they didn't mean it." "That doesn't matter." Caius snapped. "They still said it." Marcus turned his gaze to Caius. "You suffer from the same flaw Caius. If anyone should be understanding, it's you." "Why should I take the time to understand? They're human. That's a waste of energy." Marcus turned back to Alec. "Trust me. I'd know if there were any truth in their words."
"They're coming back tomorrow?" (Y/N) whispered. Carlisle nodded. "We can take you home before they get here if you like. However, I feel more comfortable keeping an eye on you tonight after..." Carlisle trailed off but (Y/N) knew. After Jane used her ability on them. (Y/N) nodded. They were given the option to stick around the next day. Although (Y/N) declined, deciding they'd go home instead.
"I'll drop you off." Alice said brightly in attempt to keep the mood light. "Thanks." (Y/N) said quietly. Alice, Carlisle and Esme went quiet. "Let's go out the front." Alice smiled. "I'll go and get my keys and meet you at the car okay?" (Y/N) nodded. "Sure." "Come and visit tomorrow." Esme nodded to them with a smile, bringing (Y/N) into a hug. "Okay." They responded quietly, offering her a small brief smile before heading out the door.
Just as the door shut behind (Y/N), the Volturi moved into the living room after being let in by Jasper. Carlisle was quick to welcome them. Before they could ask, Carlisle explained whilst Alice passed by with her keys in hand. "Alice will be back shortly. She's taking (Y/N) home."
Alice grinned at (Y/N) as she walked down the path. "Alright, ready to go?" Even now she was trying to keep the mood light. (Y/N) nodded. "Yeah. Thanks for the ride." "Of course!" Alice responded. (Y/N) kept their eyes on her, not daring to look at the house until they were in the car.
Two days passed and Alec still wasn't speaking to )Y/N). Although (Y/N) figured it would have been best if they were the one to reach out to him given the situation as well as knowing Alec wasn't necessarily one to do any kind of approaching unless it were to kill them. (Y/N) found him alone and decided that was a better opportunity than any. He sat his his back to them, seemingly reading in Carlisle's study. "Alec?" (Y/N) asked quietly. They didn't receive a response, not even the turn of his head. He remained unmoving. "Could we talk for a minute? I want to apologise again. I didn't mean it but I still said it and I shouldn't have. It was an awful thing to say and I'm so sorry." Their words still didn't earn even the turn of Alec's head. "I can't stand not talking to you." (Y/N) began. "You're my best friend and I miss you. I want to make it up to you. To show you that I’m sorry and that I'd never think such a thing of you." (Y/N) still received no response. They sighed. "I don't know what to do here." "What makes you think you can do anything?" Alec's voice was cold. Although (Y/N) considered it progress. Especially as he turned around to look at (Y/N). His face was unforgiving, gaze piercing and his mouth in a tight line. "We both know I'm going to hurt you regardless." Suddenly he was standing and slowly moving towards them. (Y/N) took a step back. "You're scaring me." They said, trying to maintain the distance. He looked at (Y/N) like he did everyone else. He looked at them like he wanted them to burn as he did, like (Y/N) deserved more than he ever did. Alec looked like he most certainly would hurt them or even kill them. "I didn't mean it!" (Y/N) pleaded. "I'm sorry!" Alec glared at (Y/N). "It was my fault. It won't happen again." (Y/N) faltered. "What?" “It’s my fault for thinking you were different from any other disgusting wretched human!” Alec had most certainly returned the favour, his words cut (Y/N) to the core. They felt tears well up in their eyes. "Get out." Alec snarled and they did. Without question.
Another day or so passed and (Y/N) had an idea of how to fix all of it. Once again, (Y/N) waited until he was alone, this time he was outside by the tree line before the woods. "I'm mad at myself too, you know." (Y/N) began, crossing your arms over your chest. "I felt the same way when I made my parents forget about me. The confusion and fear they had to see someone claim to be their child, have photographs with them but have no recollection of them ever existing. I was so angry with myself for saying what I did and I'm even more angry that I did it again but this time to you. I meant what I said Alec. You're my best friend. What I'm trying to say is that I get it, if you hate me. I understand. Although I really do want to try anything I can to make this up to you." His back was still towards (Y/N). "You won't even look at me." (Y/N) said quietly. Alec turned to look at them with an empty stare. "Alec..." (Y/N) trailed off. "I want you to forget this happened." "What?" Alec's eyes narrowed on them. "I want you to be happy. I never wanted to hurt you. So I want you to forget-" "No!" Alec covered his ears and shut his eyes tightly. "Alec, look at me." (Y/N) stepped closer. "No! Get back!" Alec yelled. That was when Carlisle hurried in between them both. "What is it?" Carlisle asked, looking between them both. "They're trying to make me forget!" "It's better this way!" (Y/N) pleaded to Carlisle. "I never meant for any of this and it's hurting him! I can fix it!" "(Y/N), I want you to listen to me very carefully." Carlisle began, blocking them from Alec. “These thoughts, these memories, they don’t belong to you. They are not yours to take." "I-" (Y/N) struggled to respond. Feeling both the eyes of Alec and Carlisle on them. Carlisle put his hands on their shoulders. "This isn't the way." "I can't believe you!" Alec spat. "This is how you want to make it up to me? Wipe my memory and pretend it never happened!?" (Y/N) could see the hatred in Alec's eyes. Any second chance he had considered was long gone.
In that moment (Y/N) gave in. They knew they couldn't fix it. (Y/N) couldn't make it up to him and he wasn't willing to forget. It was over. Jane was the first to storm up to (Y/N) when they came back into the house. She was immediately held back and to their surprise she didn't use her gift.  However, she did rant that they were lucky she couldn't slap you at the very least. Although she didn't need to. (Y/N) was suffering enough. They didn't look at anyone, instead walking out the front door. Alec and Carlisle entered the house, Alec yelling in outrage. Carlisle simply wasn't listening to him. His eyes immediately searching for (Y/N). "They left...what happened?" Rosalie asked. Carlisle said nothing, rushing out the door after (Y/N).
It was night time and most certainly not safe for them to walk home alone but they were determined to. Tears running down their cheeks, arms crossed over their chest as they briskly walked down the road. "(Y/N)!" They heard Carlisle call out behind them. (Y/N) didn't respond, continuing to walk away. Suddenly Carlisle was behind them, tugging them back. "(Y/N), it's not safe out here. Come back inside, we can figure-" "No!" (Y/N) shouted back. "Get off of me! I'm going home!" "Let me take you home then, come back to the car." Carlisle said. "I'm not going back in there! I’ve lost everything! It's my fault! I lost my friend, I lost my parents and there's no one else to blame but myself!" (Y/N) yelled. "(Y/N), you are a wonderful person with a remarkable gift. You just need some guidance. We can help you, just come back. I'll take you home!" Carlisle pleaded. "You know what the cruel part about my gift is Carlisle?" (Y/N) said significantly more quiet, an eerie calmness taking over them. "I can't use it on myself. I can make everyone around me forget anything but the one who wants to forget the most is me." (Y/N) took a step forward. "Can you take me home please?" Carlisle nodded.
Outside (Y/N)’s house, Carlisle pulled over. "Come to the house tomorrow. We'll have something figured out by morning." (Y/N) sighed before nodding. "Alright, I'll do it." "This will improve, (Y/N). We'll talk things over with them." Carlisle assured them. "Yeah, just at what cost?" (Y/N) mumbled. "I lost my friend. Alec will never speak to me again." "You don't know that." Carlisle responded hurriedly. "I do." (Y/N) said. "I'm just going to sleep this off. I'll see you tomorrow."
(Y/N) decided to run a bath later that night. Kneeling on the floor they turned on the tap which began to fill the tub. They felt the weight of every decision they had made on their body and no longer could they even cry about it. Whilst (Y/N) thought a bath would be best, they didn't really care about it being too warm or too cold. As a matter of fact, they didn't think further than the action itself.
"They hurt me." Alec ground out. Marcus wanted Alec to see reason. Not only that, Marcus wanted Alec to admit the reality of the situation and not hide from it. It was of no surprise to him considering (Y/N) was the first proper friend Alec had, the closest anyone had ever come to the twins. "Just as you hurt them." Marcus replied. "You've hurt many people, Alec. (Y/N) is one of many on that list. Yet regardless, they want you in their life. They want your friendship. You want to punish them but you don't realise they've already punished themselves. More so than is necessary. Furthermore, you aren't just punishing (Y/N), you're punishing yourself. I know you want to be their friend but you won't let yourself." "They-" "You're torturing yourself as much as your torturing them." Marcus said simply. "I think they frightened you, boy. I think you forgave them the minute they said it and that frightened you." Alec didn't have a response. As much as he tried. He couldn't tell Marcus he was wrong because he wasn't. "I can't trust them." Alec responded. "You can. You simply won't. They said awful things but still want you in their life. Apologizing the minute it was said. You've never experienced that and it bothers you that it makes it difficult to act in your usual response." "I don't know how." Alec said after a moment of silence. "I don't know how to show that I care about them and I don't know how to show it when I forgive them. I'm so used to pushing people away that...I don't know how to let people in." "You tell them." Marcus responded. "Even if it means you need to say it to yourself first. Put down the weight of the past. Even if it's only for them." Silence filled the room. "I forgive them." Alec said under his breath, it was quiet, barely audible but there none the less.
Alice tilted her head, staring at nothing in particular. “What is it Alice?” Jasper asked. “I think i should check on (Y/N).” She responded. “I can’t be sure but i think something is wrong.”  “They’re upset.” Carlisle responded. “Do you suspect they’re in danger?” Alice tilted her head again. “I don’t think so. It’s hard to tell, I see them and then it just goes black.”  “Why not give them a call?” Esme asked lightly. Alice nodded, immediately going for her phone.
(Y/N)’s phone buzzed beside them, as they sat and watched the running tap. It was a text from Bella, telling them that Jake and the pack were around the area, making sure they knew the Volturi wouldn’t come within their vicinity for the night. (Y/N) was about to respond when they got a phone call from Alice.  “Hello?” (Y/N) answered.  “Hi (Y/N), I just wanted to check in with you since things didn’t end too well tonight.” They paused and Alice noticed. “They’re just leaving now for the night.” Alice said, locking eyes with Alec as the Volturi moved towards the door.  “I’ll be fine.” (Y/N) responded.  “I... thought i had a vision of you but, I couldn’t see anything.” (Y/N) smiled slightly with a hum of amusement. “You don’t need to look out for me, Alice. I’m just going to go for a bath and head to bed.”  “Are you sure?” Alice asked.  “Of course. Besides, I’ve already began running the water...as you know.” Alice hummed quietly in amusement. “This will be fixed tomorrow.” (Y/N) swallowed. “I know.” (Y/N) said quietly.  “It’s a good sign they want to see you, you know?” Alice said.  “I can only hope.” They said simply.  “Anyway, get some sleep and i’ll speak to you tomorrow, yeah?”  “Yeah, have a good night Alice.”  “See you tomorrow, (Y/N).”
When (Y/N) hung up the phone, a tear ran down their cheek. ‘disgusting wretched human!’ Alec’s voice rang in their head. (Y/N) put their phone on the floor next to them. (Y/N) felt their clothes stick to them as they sank into the water, leaning back in the bath. The calm luke-warm water peaceful, like their mind. (Y/N) felt a tear run down their cheek. (Y/N) shook their head biting back their tears. Before any more could fall, (Y/N) slowly sank underneath the water. After a brief moment,(Y/N) sat up, their hair dripped as they felt another wave of calm wash over them. (Y/N) noticed a reflection of the ceiling along the water. An idea rushed to their mind and that was when they knew, what they had to do. (Y/N) hunched over slightly, arms moving to the edge of the tub, more droplets falling down the sides. They looked at their reflection.  “You’re going to forget. You’re going to forget the Volturi, forget what happened. You’ll forget ever meeting them. You’re going to forget that you have a gift to make people forget things. You won’t think to even question it. If it’s brought up. It’ll be like a dream, or story that you made up. You’ll forget ever using it, you wont remember to question why your parents aren't around.” It wasn’t known when (Y/N) had stopped repeating those very words. Although it wouldn’t concern them, they’d forgotten they had ever done it. "If only (Y/N) would have waited. If only we were quicker. Then maybe we would have had the time to tell them that they were forgiven. That for some of us, there was nothing to forgive. Maybe if we had spent more thought, we'd have known how much hurt they truly felt. However by then, it was too late what was done was done. They'd forgotten who we were, forgotten what they had done and all the details in between, washed away by their gift. We'd never know if such a gift could be reversed but could only hope that they've found peace and happiness. They'd live out their life, never knowing the happiness they gave and the joy they spread to many."  Marcus finished.
Many in the room couldn't help but glance at you, wanting to see your reaction. Perhaps a flicker of recognition would show. Your head lowered and the two covens seemed almost hopeful. You lifted your head, wiping your eyes. "That's sad. I hoped for a happy ending." A pang hit some of their chests, that statement had remained the same even before you had forgotten. A quiet hum escaped you. "You know it's strange, you said the humans name was (Y/N). My name is (Y/N) too." "Oh?" Marcus responded lightly with a ghost of a smile. You nodded. "It's a funny coincidence, I suppose." You looked at Marcus with uncertainty. "I feel like I should hug you...?" You began. Marcus cracked a small smile. "That's alright." Marcus stood up and you met him half way.  The room was quiet, even after you both separated.
You moved into the kitchen to refill your glass of water when you jumped. Alec was so quiet you had no clue he was even in there. "You scared me!" You laughed, a hand going to your chest. "Sorry." Alec felt a pang in his chest, remembering how tried to apologise to him and he completely rejected you. This time you were apologizing for nothing. In your eyes, you had apologised to a complete stranger and that broke Alec's heart. He wished he could turn back time, assure you that you were forgiven, that you'd always be his friend. He missed that chance, you got so good at your own gift you figured out a way to use it on yourself. "Alec, yeah?" You asked. Alec nodded. "I'm getting better at names." You smirked, pleased with yourself. "The human in Marcus' story was your friend right?" You asked nonchalantly as you filled your glass. "Yes." Alec responded. "Can I ask you something?" You turned, now with a full glass with a small smile on your face. Alec knew that smile well that you had sent him. It was the polite smile you wore to anyone you didn't know. In the hopes that it would cover up how nervous you actually are about meeting new people. "Yes." Alec said again, not entirely ready for the question but whatever it was, it meant you'd stay in the conversation. For all he knew, that last conversation he'd have with you. "Were they nice? Your friend?" You might as well have stabbed him in the chest in that moment. Alec did his best to hide it. "They were wonderful. The best friend I could have ever had." Alec responded. You slowly nodded, contemplating his answer. "That's nice. Anyway, I won't bother you anymore." You smiled, raising your glass. "See you around." You turned and walked out the room without even a second glance. Leaving Alec standing in the kitchen, alone once again. Jane moved passed (Y/N), casting them a quick look before entering the kitchen towards her brother. She said nothing as Alec looked at her. For what could she honestly say? "They forgot me." Alec said quietly.

A/N: Sorry this chapter is so short! I just knew it’d be the best for this chapter to end the way it does!

"If you need her, she'll be preparing for bed in her chambers." Y/n smiled, looking to the blonde standing beside her. Niki was her nurse, yet she was also the princess's best friend. Throughout her lonely days, Niki was always there to make her days brighter.
"Alright, you're excused, you two," Schlatt spoke with a typical bored look on his face. Y/n had already gotten the chance to say goodnight to her fiance, they had spent most of the night together. It seemed like the only time they were apart was when Y/n had spent a few songs on the dance floor with the green-eyed stranger.
Even now, the princess couldn't help but think of the man. She hadn't seen him for the rest of the night, where had he run off to? Maybe he had only been a figure of imagination and she had easily gotten lost in her thoughts for a short time. It seemed impossible for her to come up with how attractive he had been, the green-eyed man had to be real.
"Y/n, what are you thinking about? You seem to have lost yourself in thought once again." Y/n snapped her head to the left as she walked, Niki had pulled her away from her train of thought.
"Oh, Niki... I can't decide whether or not I'm crazy." With a huff of breath, the h/c girl looked down at her hands. She began to pick at them again as they walked.
"What's going on? Maybe I can help decide if you're a madwoman or not."
"I could've sworn I danced with a stranger tonight. But I'm beginning to doubt myself. Maybe I'm just crazy."
"With a stranger?" A playful smile widened on the blonde's face, "Yes, you are a madwoman. I'm certain the king or Lord Technoblade would've ended a stranger's life tonight if they were caught dancing with you."
"He seemed to be too good to be true."
"He?" Niki raised a brow from confusion, "Y/n, did you not meet your fiance tonight?"
"I did-"
"So he's not a stranger."
"I... no Niki, I'm not referring to Prince George," Y/n shook her head, her stomach felt suddenly a bit ill. "There was another man... he towered over me, his hair was practically golden silk, his eyes were olive green. He seemed to be the type of man to only exist in fairytales."
"Wow, I'm not exactly sure what to say..."
Pausing, Y/n grabbed onto Niki's arm, stopping her pace. "Promise not to tell anyone?"
"You have my word that this will stay between us."
His grip tightened on the blade, this was the first step. When it came to pulling off plans like these, he had always been so careful. He would spend days plotting out destruction before putting it into action.
Techno was light on his feet as he walked, the last thing he wanted was to have an unwanted guest to appear. It had been weeks since he had last killed a man, but tonight he was going to get his hands bloody once again.
He had worked so hard to reach where he was today. He had been planning for one thing and one thing only: to overthrow the king and cause havoc for the Kingdom. It had all gone well until months ago when he had first received news of Y/n's arranged engagement.
But it was alright, he would be able to fix everything and go back to his original plan. All he needed was to get a moment to assassinate the one boy standing in his way from moving forward: Prince George. It would be quick and simple; a quick slash across the throat before framing it as a suicide. Schlatt may look for a new fiance for his daughter, but at least Technoblade would have a bit of time to play his cards right.
This was it. This was Prince George's room where he would be fast asleep. The door creaked open, wide enough for Techno to enter. As he passed through, his eyes adjusted to the dimly lit room. A fire crackled in the corner of the room, the only source of light.
A be fit for a king sat on the opposite side of the room. There the prince laid, his chest falling and rising as he was fast asleep. It was all too perfect.
Staring down at the prince, Techno stood right by his bed. He could feel seconds running past him as he watched the brunette. He could've ended his life quickly, but it seemed like something was stopping him. Maybe it was the memories from earlier that night... the way Y/n smiled at her fiance, the way she laughed at his witty remarks, and blushed at his compliments. She was happy with him...
"Your highness?"
Oh no.
"I'm truly impressed with how you handled tonight, not one fight." In the middle of the party, Sap Nap and his much taller friend had become bored. Deciding to steal a bottle of rum and escaping from the ballroom, they had disappeared into the garden for a bit of light banter.
The green-eyed man couldn't help but chuckle at the knight's joke. "I know, I know. How strange was it to not try and chase me?"
"Just wait until the day I catch you."
"That day will never come, my friend. You know that." He glanced over his shoulder, looking to the garden walls. They were high, but he could easily escape if he wished. "Has the party come to an end already? It seems awfully quiet."
"Most likely, I-" Sap Nap paused, looking over his shoulder for a moment. He was the only one who had heard it. Laughter. For a moment, the pair glanced at one another. An unreadable look appeared on the green-eyed man's face, he put a finger to his mouth, implying it was time to be quiet. Steadily, he made his way towards the laughter.
As he followed the voices, he had noticed two different things; one voice had seemed so familiar. Meanwhile, a light had appeared on the path. There had to be a balcony or bridge of some sort.
Looking up he spotted the balcony. Two women stood by each other right on the edge. As fast as possible, the green-eyed man pushed himself against the castle wall, out of sight.
"I-" Y/n paused, interrupted by a noise from the garden. For a moment, the pair glanced out at the bushes. "Anyways, I think it's time for me to rest. I'll speak to you tomorrow, Niki."
The green-eyed man held himself against the wall, listening carefully for the door to open and shut. Just before he got the chance to move again, he heard a few footsteps follow back out to the balcony with a sigh. "What a night... the dancing, the drinks, all of it. But there is one thing left on my mind... I wonder where the green-eyed man is now, what a dream he was."
The green-eyed man tensed. She was speaking about him? Glancing around, it seemed the coast was clear. he pushed himself away from the wall, turning to look up at the balcony. "Your highness."
She jumped at the sight of him, he had appeared out of nowhere. "Am I drunk? Or is that really you?"
"It is me!"
Y/n glanced over her shoulder, making sure her bedroom was completely empty before looking back down at her new friend. "How did you get here? The walls are too strong and too high to be climbed, surely my knightsmen would kill you for trying to sneak through the castle."
"Let's just say this isn't my first time sneaking around," he replied with a sheepish grin and a small shrug.
"You never fail to make me swoon." The green-eyed man could feel his heart race from that sentence, his smile grew. "But please, tell me why you are here." She glanced down at him, returning the smile.
"I just wished to see you once again, your highness."
"Please, call me Y/n. But what may I call you, sir?"
"I..." He hesitated. Only two people knew his name, two people he had trusted everything with. His dear friend, Nick, and an old friend he hadn't spoken to since childhood. Would he be so willing to give his actual name to her? Usually, this wasn't a big debate for him, so why was it so hard for him to decide?
"Y/n?"
Turning to face the door, Y/n was face to face with her friend again. Niki.
"Hi Niki, what are you doing here? Not to come off as rude, but I thought I was going to be left alone for the rest of the night?" She stepped away from the balcony, entering her bedroom again. Y/n just wanted to keep Niki away from the garden just in case of the chance she would spot the mystery man.
"I just wanted to come by to collect the tea set, I know someone will be mad at me if I don't return showing I was doing something useful for you."
"Oh," the princess let out a brief laugh as a response. "I understand, if it makes things easier for you, don't hesitate to interrupt me. I know things can be hard with the head-house maid. She's never had a soft spot for you."
"I know, what a pain." Picking up the tray, Niki paused. Her eyes connected with the princess. For a moment,  the two looked at each other as a strange tension appeared from nowhere. It seemed like Niki was searching, for what? Y/n wasn't quite sure. Seconds of silence passed before it was interrupted by Niki speaking once again. "Are you alright, Y/n? You look as pale as a ghost."
"What? I'm fine, just a bit tired, that's all." Y/n was quick to respond, brushing a hand through her hair. "Need anything else, Niki?"
"No... you should really get into bed though, Y/n. It's getting late, I know you have to spend some time with Prince George tomorrow and you'll have a few errands on your schedule as well."
"Alright, goodnight Niki."
"Goodnight, Y/n."
As soon as the door closed and her friend was out of sight, Y/n rushed back out to the balcony. Her eyes scanned over the garden, yet there was no sign of him. She was only gone for a minute, how could he disappear that quick? It was a dark night, but he couldn't possibly hide away in plain sight that easily. After a few more minutes of checking over the garden, the h/c girl eventually gave up, returning to her room.
Letting out a sigh, the green-eyed man watched her enter her room once again. He knew if they were going to continue their conversation, there would be a chance of her wanting his name. He couldn't even give it to her. She was the princess, one wrong move and she could expose him to her father and he'd have his head on a platter.
Once she was obviously hidden away in her room, the green-eyed man stepped out of his hiding spot, beginning to head back to his friend. As he walked, one sentence played over and over again in his mind; 'I wonder where the green-eyed man is now, what a dream he was.' He couldn't stop thinking about what she had said. 'what a dream he was.' His gut would fill with butterflies as he thought about it over and over again. Out of nowhere, it had finally hit him. Dream. His name was Dream.
