🌟Advent | Yuletide🌟

Billy Washington x fem!Reader

Summary: Billy Washington knocks on his neighbour's door with a case of the wobbles.

Billy hesitated outside the door. He stared at the small wreath attached to the knocker and glanced down the hallway. No-one else had one up.

With a shaking hand and shuddering breath, Billy wiped his eyes. His counsellor was encouraging him to reach out when he had what his mother called “a case of the wobbles”.

It had taken a while. The first time Billy felt his panic creeping in, his terror at picking up the phone and calling his sister had induced another attack. Once, while doing his weekly shop, someone dropped a large box from a top shelf of the supermarket and the noise made him dissolve into violent sobs. A kindly and plump woman in a Tesco uniform took him to the staff room, gave him a cuppa and a long cuddle.

“See,” the counsellor said when Billy told her of this episode. “I know it’s hard after everything that happened, but most people really are good people.”

So here he stood, in the corridor of his new block of flats, hand raised to knock on his neighbour’s door. He cleared his throat a few times, shook out his arms and shuffled his feet.

“Come on, Wash,” he murmured to himself, feeling another knot of nerves tighten in his stomach. Not giving his brain time to betray him, he rapped his knuckle of the door.

“Coming,” the voice on the other side of the door called brightly. The longer he waited, the quicker his heart hammered. Keeping down his lunch was becoming harder with every second that ticked by.

A door to his left opened. A little old lady stuck her head out her front door.

“Hiya,” Billy barely looked at her, focussing on his shoes instead. He didn’t want any more people than necessary to see his tears. “Merry Christmas.”

“Thought you was knocking for me,” she retreated inside with a muffled Merry Christmas of her own.

The door before him opened. Warm light bathed the cold corridor. So too, did the smell of freshly cooked food.

Billy took a step back and rubbed his neck. Still, he looked at the floor, eyes flicking up only when he said hello. You were smiling at him, waiting for to hear whatever he had knocked for.

“Merry Christmas,” you said. Catching sight of his watery eyes you stepped towards him slowly. “Everything ok?”

Billy swallowed hard. His wobbles always made it so hard to breathe, and as though reliving the memory, it felt like he could taste petrol fumes. “Yeah, um. I, erm-” A small, watery sob left him. “Fuck, sorry.”

“It’s ok,” you opened the door wider. “Do you want to come in?”

“Yes please.” He said quickly. Billy’s relief was instantaneous as he shuffled past you into the flat. Golden fairy lights were strung around the small lounge, and a Christmas tree that was far too large took up most of the space. Beside it, an old sofa was covered in blankets and on the telly, Jimmy Stewart’s face was paused. It’s a Wonderful Life, his mum’s favourite.

“Sit yourself down, kettle’s just boiled.”

“Ta, thanks.” He perched awkwardly on the sofa and grabbed a tissue from the box on the table. An undrunk cup of tea was sat beside a pile of books and abandoned Christmas wrapping.

“Milk and sugar?”

“Please, ta.”

Billy’s leg bobbed as he waited for his cup of tea, thinking over what to tell you.

“You don’t need to tell anyone why, Billy, just that you are having a panic attack and don’t want to be alone.”

The sofa dipped beside him. Silently, you handed him a cup of tea and placed a small bowl of steaming pasta on the table beside you both.

“Just made it, help yourself.” You nodded to the bowl. “Not very Christmassy but comforting, eh?”

“Yeah, cheers.”

Without saying anything else, you picked up the tv remote and pressed play.

“Oh, whadda ya mean? Nobody’s trying to steal anybody’s girl. Here, here’s, here’s Mary.”

Jimmy Stewart’s voice filled the little flat and Billy felt liked he’d stepped into another world. Had he had a panic attack? Here was a girl, opening her door to a stranger, giving him food and then pretending he didn’t exist. Frankly, his panic made way for worry about her survival instincts.

As if reading his mind, you spoke. “I get them too. Panic attacks.” Billy didn’t say anything, only looked at you over his cup of tea. You’d tucked your feet up on the sofa and snuggled down beneath the roll neck of your enormous, grey jumper. “Shit, aren’t they?”

Billy laughed awkwardly. “Yeah,”

“Don’t worry, though.” You tore your eyes away from the telly then. “We can just sit here.”

And sit there the two of you did. Right until George Bailey saw Clarence’s copy of Tom Sawyer and little Zuzu said, “each time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings.”

Billy smiled as you whispered it in unison with the film.

“Thanks,” he said tentatively, finally broaching the subject of his panic attack himself. “That was just what I needed.”

“Anytime, Billy,” you said, placing your hand on his comfortingly. Billy stilled.

“H-how do you know my name?” Christ. He’d knocked on the door of the high-rise lunatic.

You smiled gently and raised your eyebrows at him, as though saying don’t be thick. “You were on the news, Billy.”

He mentally slapped himself. Of course she knew who he was.

CAR BOMB CALAMTIY: LOCAL MAN ESCAPES AFTER FAR-RIGHT RECRUITMENT

“I won’t ask about it, and you don’t have to say anything, not if you don’t want to. But you can always knock on the door.”

“Thanks mate,” Billy said with a watery smile. He hastily rubbed his eyes.

“Really,” you said with sincerity. “Anytime.”

With another gentle smile, Billy stood up from the sofa. He loomed over you, and so you stood too.

“I best be off,” he indicated to the door. “I’ve taken up enough of your evening-”

“Anytime, remember.”

“Likewise,” he said, remembering you were also prone to cases of the wobbles.

He bade you goodnight, smiling to himself when you waited in the doorway to see him off, even though it was only too steps across the hall.

“Oooh!” you exclaimed. “Hang on!”

You disappeared from the door, leaving it slightly ajar. Billy stood awkwardly with his hand on the doorhandle. When you reappeared, a little out of breath from dashing around the small flat, you handed him a little chocolate covered in golden foil.

“Mum sends me an Advent calendar every year, but I’ve pigged out enough today.”

Something in this tiny gesture on top of an evening that meant so much bowled Billy over. His worry at anyone seeing his panic dissolved as he did too, slumping onto your shoulder and bursting into tears.

“Ah, mate,” you rubbed his shoulder as this giant man clung onto you. “It’ll be a better year next year, yeah?”

“Myeah,” Billy sniffled, standing straight and rubbing his nose. He laughed in spite of himself and you giggled to. “Merry Christmas.”

“Merry Christmas, Billy.”

A/N: Hello and Merry Christmas! Two days late but it's still December so it should be fine. This piece was from a secret santa event and I decided, why not post it here? So, have this little Christmas piece from me! 🎄🌟

Malleus often finds herself thinking about the future.

She believes the habit stemmed from her childhood, from the very present reminder that she should think about her future as crown princess. Even if she was no older than twenty years old at the time. If she were to put it in human standards, she would have been no older than five amongst her kinsmen.

From Lilia, to her advisors, and perhaps everyone around her have never ceased to remind her of this lofty duty. To the point that merely their presence alone reminds her of the weight on her shoulders, and a truly hefty weight it is.

Years pass, and Malleus feels the weight growing heavier and heavier.

She believes it should have been the opposite case, wherein the more often you carry a weight, the lesser it weighs until you feel no strain at all. However, woe is her, for that is not the case. And the weights keep increasing along with her responsibilities.

The weight of the impending loss that she will feel once the people she cares about perish, the weight of her duties that will always present, and most of all, the weight of her loneliness.

Now the last one, Malleus knows is possible to be lifted. Unlike the rest of the shackles that bind her. But even then, it was just that, a possibility. It could take years – perhaps a millennium – until she finds someone, anyone, who can lift the suffocating weight of her loneliness.

That was one of the leading reasons (The coaxing of Lilia being the other) she accepted the invitation to NRC. But even with all the hope she held in his heart, it was all dashed by the looks and stares given to her by her peers.

It’s the same, she realizes, the same enraging look as everyone else.

Admiration, fear, acknowledgement, intimidation, disdain. All of it was painted on their faces. And Malleus starts to feel faint, cold, like she was drowning in a sea of ice, the cold piercing painfully to the marrow of her bones.

That was the day she stopped having hope.

In the following years of her stay in NRC, only a few brave ones were able to strike a conversation with her. Nearly lighting her small candle of hope before cruelly blowing it out with the distance that follows right after.

But, against all odds, her small candle of hope was re-lit. The flames raging forth and taking her heart in a tempestuous and uncontrollable storm.

All of this done by none other than a human.

It was absolutely unbelievable. Malleus can’t help but chuckle dryly at her ridiculous situation. After all, your lifespan oh so short compared to hers. Once the day of your passing comes, all her grief and loneliness would increase tenfold. Hence, avoiding closer relations with you would be nothing but in her best interests. Though, she wonders, why is it does she keep coming back?

Back to your quaint and dilapidated home, back to your conversations and laughs, back to the warm meals and banter, back to the cozy and quiet company, back to you.

Whilst staring longingly at your backlit figure – the light gives you a wonderous and bright halo, she thinks, almost as if you were a deity – she wonders, truly, why can’t these moments just last forever? Why couldn’t you just be a fae like her? Why does the natural law between humans and fae have to be so painful? Why do you have to leave? leave her?

“Tsunotaro!”

Your call effectively snaps Malleus out of her gloomy, wayward thoughts. With bright enthusiasm, you abruptly drag Malleus by the hand, unwillingly making her tumble (Face first, mind you) with you in the snow.

You laugh brightly, the sound tinkling in Malleus’ ears. Even with snow all over your hair and cheeks, you show no care at all for how disheveled you might have looked and just continued laughing as happy as can be in the snow. At that, Malleus can’t help but join you in your melody of laughter.

In over all the decades she had lived, Malleus finally learns how easy it is to just, be happy.

Kid-friendly holiday crafts !! 🐣 I've created a list of all the crafts i want to do this year for the holidays. Most of them are kid-friendly as well and especially fun to do with regressors 💕 I've also included difficulty ratings of one to three stars. If a craft is more difficult littles might need some extra help to make them ! Homemade Gift Wrapping Difficulty: 🌟 Such a cute and easy way to make Christmas more creative !! And a good way to use the cute paper and stickers I've been hoarding all year because I don't know what to do with them 😖

Felt Christmas Cookie Ornaments Difficulty: 🌟🌟🌟 These ones are a little tricky but they're so cute, I love the colourful beads on them that look like sprinkles !! And a Christmas tree would look so good with lots of these hanging up🎄

Scented Salt Dough Ornaments Difficulty: 🌟 I only gave these a one star difficulty because they're very easy to make. But keep in mind that they do use the oven ! Other than that, they're cute and smell nice, it's like the best of both worlds 😆

Christmas Bunting Difficulty: 🌟🌟 I love bunting, not only Christmas themed, but all year round !! It's my favourite wall decoration and makes my room feel like I'm having a party every day 🎉

I also found some other bunting patterns in different shapes, these ones are more holiday themed ! But that means that they're a little more difficult to make. Here's the links for star and Christmas tree patterns. Difficulty: 🌟🌟🌟

And also, another one because I just love bunting. This one's Christmas tree shaped but is much easier because it doesn't require any sewing ! Difficulty: 🌟

Gingerbread House Gift Wrapping/Advent Calendar Difficulty: 🌟 These ones are very similar so I grouped them together. Decorating brown paper bags with white markers to make little gingerbread houses ! Which you can use for wrapping presents but also to make a whole village for an advent calendar 🏡

Fabric Paperchains Difficulty: 🌟🌟🌟 I love paperchains but they always tear when I try to make them. These one's won't though and because they have velcro you can mix and match the patterns when you get bored of them 💭

Gingerbread House Card Difficulty: 🌟 You can probably tell I love gingerbread houses. I just think they're so cute and Christmassy ! And it would be so fun to make these cards but also everyone would be so happy to receive such a cute card ! 🌈

And that's all !! I might update this post as I see more crafts during the month but I think this is a good list to start off with. Also if anyone does any of these please post a picture ! I'd love to see them 🥰💖

A SPECIAL CHRISTMAS 🎄

summary: it’s your first christmas after the war and Peeta give his best try for see you happy.

It was your first Christmas after the war, several of you had survived and now you lived peacefully but it was your first Christmas without your family. Despite the poverty of the district, your family always did everything possible to have beautiful traditions at Christmas, doing banal things such as having dinner together, exchanging some meaning gifts and having family moments that marked your entire life, really this year the last thing you wanted was to celebrate but Peeta, your boyfriend, had insisted a lot on making a celebration in the victor’s village with Katniss, Haymitch and the few that were left of them.

It was difficult for you not to feel like a stranger, they are the closest thing to what a family was but it was difficult for you to take it as such, Christmas was always marked by the moments with your parents, your siblings and other people, it was the first time you spent this holiday with people who were not of “your blood”, your memories were so happy that your sadness and anguish overshadowed any other emotion you could feel in the present, now you were surrounded by people but you felt more alone than ever.

On the other hand, Peeta’s optimism was relentless, he was that sun you see in the middle of the storm, that boy was your ground wire at all times, he was so sweet that you didn’t think you deserved someone as pure as him, Peeta was in charge of organizing everything, from cooking dinner and making delicious desserts to even decorating his home for the guests, you were appreciating each of the actions he did, because you knew that he knew that this was important for you, who were not working in the kitchen, helped put things on the table and Keep clean for dinner, Peeta had seen that in the capitol they put a kind of tree decorated with shiny balls and was in charge of having one at home to increase the decoration of the place.

You were all in your best clothes, you had eaten delicious, you had laughed and had spent really beautiful moments, you received several gifts that were charming and it couldn’t be more perfect, even so, there was a certain void that nothing could fill, this moment would be ephemeral and then you would return home, alone, without your family, you would never have them again, no matter what happened, you would always be alone. All of you were drinking and talking about some of your experiences in the district, remembering that time when everything was worse than now, you were still absorbed in your thoughts about the family, about the future, about your loneliness, you felt Peeta’s hand on your leg, you looked him in the eyes and saw the concern in his eyes, you could never lie to him, because your boyfriend already knew you too much. “We will go for a walk, we will be back soon,” he said with his characteristic kind voice before getting up, taking your hand and walking out of the house, before leaving he took his coats so that they could be covered, the snow was falling again, so it was too cold to walk without a coat.

“I know what you’re thinking and I don’t like that you’re thinking about it so much,” you watched his beautiful eyes as you heard him speak, you intertwined your hand with his to walk, you tried to ignore what he had said. “I don’t know what you’re talking about, Peeta,” you murmured, the sound of the snow accompanied every step they took. “You think that after this there is nothing, I know that you were very attached to your family, I know how much it hurts, I also lost my family... I don’t have anyone else anymore” You could notice the sadness in his voice but also the worry. “You have me, Peeta, you have Haymitch, Katniss, Effie, you have us all” you stopped to be able to be in front of him, you wanted to be able to appreciate his face.

“The same for you, you still think you’ll be alone and I don’t like that you feel that way, I don’t know what to do so that you don’t feel like that, I would like to tear that pain and put it on me so that you never have to suffer” His words made you shudder, this man was simply too much for the world, your eyes shone and suddenly everything seemed clear, you were going to respond to what he said until you saw him kneeling in front of you, taking out a little box and showing a ring inside it, it was beautiful, now you were shaking. “Merry Christmas, my love, I know that This is a long way to go, I know that none of us will be able to fill that void left by those you loved but I need you to know that I love you with every part of my body, my whole heart dances for your existence and as long as I live, I will do my best so that you do not feel alone, I will remove all your fears, I will calm your nightmares and support you every time you think you will fall, because I will never let you fall, I will give every minute of my life to you and we will form our own legacy, we will have more Christmas to celebrate and we will create memories full of love, do you want to get married With me?”

At this point, you and Peeta were crying, you nodded your head and saw the most beautiful smile you had ever seen, that boy was totally bewitched by you and you couldn’t be more grateful to have it, this would definitely be your most unforgettable Christmas.

merry chrysler to all who celebrate

in honor, please take some holidays at chb crumbs as my gift to y'all

not everyone celebrates, obviously, but everyone’s overall in a better mood I think

it always snows. without fail. sometimes it’s the Hecate campers, sometimes it’s even Mr. D, maybe it’s genuinely just luck

anyways a camper or two is the only one there over christmas and a siege of monsters happens to occur and they Home Alone that shit

(am I working on a Malconnor drabble? maybe. will I get it out today? also maybe)

white elephant/ secret santa in each cabin, especially Hermes (people like Percy and Nico who are the only ones in their cabins participate in the Hermes one too)

Katie and Miranda bake a fuck ton of cookies and hold a decorating party in the arts and crafts building

(Percy eats more than he decorates and also completely depletes all blue frosting from the table)

Apollo cabin singing carols all over camp like the obnoxiously cheerful idiots that they are

Apollo and Demeter kids have really bad seasonal depression

spending a December with DILF Luke🎄🌟

🕯️🕯️modern day AU🕯️🕯️

A/N: I'm so mad at how wildly busy I am this month, but since this is my first Christmas as a fan fiction author, nothing and nobody will stop me from posting some holiday related fluff!

I sincerely hope you'll have fun with this as well <33

(it isn't necessary to read my other Dilf Luke posts in order to understand what's going on here, but should you have some questions check them out as well🫶🏻)

• because of what happened to his beloved wife, Luke isn't a fan of the winter and the holidays

• he used to be but now all he associates it with is one of the darkest chapters of his life

• for the sake of his child and the rest of his family he tries

• but the sadness sticks to it like syrup and even the littlest of things remind him of what once was

• accordingly it causes quite the drama when your best friend gets invited on a skiing trip at the end of November

• yes, they'll be back just before Christmas but until then?

• they hate to leave their dad alone in his misery, even offered to cancel their plans but he insisted they go

• he wants them to be happy

• so your friend turns to you

• yes, they said they wouldn't involve themselves in anything romance related between you and their dad

• but pleaseee can't you find a reason to stay with him while they're gone?

• yes, they KNOW this will be absolutely weird because of your still unreciprocated crush

• they kind of don't care about that though, you'll manage for sure

• you can borrow their room while they're gone

• "or maybe you won't even need it" they say pulling a face in mock disgust

• eventually, because you know how much they're looking forward to their vacation, you agree

• (and also because of other, more obvious reasons)

• meanwhile Luke is experiencing a wild roller coaster of emotions

• already feeling glum and dispirited like every year, and even more so at the prospect of having to spend his time alone, he was planning to work as much as possible to distract himself from unwanted thoughts

• but when after much hesitation you ask if it'd be okay if you were to stay at his house for, mmh, maybe the next few weeks? he's suddenly ready to ascend straight to heaven

• he'll have you all to himself for nearly the entirety of the month!

• this is his chance

• he's going to make sure you'll enjoy your time with him

• imagine baking the first Christmas cookies of the year together

• it's a bit awkward at first

• although you know the kitchen well you've never actually cooked or baked something in it and thus have no idea where to find the necessary equipment

• no need to worry though!

• Luke definitely owns an old book full of recipes that is handed down in his family and wants you to look through it beforehand

• is there anything you'd like to try?

• or maybe you are able to spot a favorite of yours?

• he easily does the preparations while you're busy reading and so you don't feel quite so useless

• while mixing together the ingredients your sleeves keep slipping down

• because your hands are already covered in the, admittedly, way too sticky dough, you try pushing them up with your forearms instead

• when this doesn't work you attempt to use your chin

• Luke thinks it's absolutely endearing and takes a moment to watch before offering his help

• he gently reaches for you, making sure to roll your sleeves up properly

• coincidentally his warm hands brush over your skin a few times

• it's as soft as he imagined it to be

• possibly he holds on to one of yours wrists for a little bit too long when he's done

• and what about your hair?

• don't you think he should do it up and out of the way as well?

• tying it up in a messy pony tail he tells you to go clean your hands

• in the mean time he'll see what he can do about the dough

• when you return you raise yourself on your tippy toes to take a peek over his shoulder

• you definitely were doing something wrong because it looks perfectly fine now

• maybe you should have put in more flour?

• your thoughts quickly take on a very different direction, however, when you see the way Luke works

• never before did you think something like simply kneading a dough could be attractive

• to distract yourself from the thought of him touching you like that, you decide to have a quick taste

• if the dough is good, the cookies will turn out great as well

• at least that's what your mother always says

• carefully you sneak your hand under Luke's left arm to reach into the bowl

• you don't even want that much, just a little teeny tiny bit

• more quickly than you can react does your hand recieve a playful smack and you pull away with a pout

• don't you know you'll end up with a tummy ache by eating too much raw dough?

• the cookies will be done in less than half an hour, no need to get impatient

• when he isn't looking you stick your fingers into the bowl anyways

• but of course Luke catches you just as you're taking a bite

• he decides then that he might have some fun as well and starts chasing you around the kitchen in mock anger

• your squeals and giggles absolutely delight him

• the oven is doing its work and you're cleaning up together when all of a sudden you catch your reflection in the mirror hanging opposite the door

• looking down at yourself you realize in embarrassment that basically your whole front is covered with a mixture of sugary powder and flour and, is that food coloring right there??

• normally you never end up this messy but this afternoon, it seems, you got carried away a little bit

• of course this had to happen at the worst possible time ever!

• Luke, on the other hand, doesn't look any less perfect than when you started

• typical

• but before you can suggest it yourself he insists on bringing you a change of clothing

• is he going to look through my laundry?, you wonder with a flush to your cheeks

• does he even know where I put it?

• and most importantly: did I look like this the whole time???

• you scrunch up your face and beg for the floor to swallow you whole

• you don't know what exactly you expected Luke to bring to you, maybe a spare pullover your friend left behind?

• instead he returns with something that looks a lot like one of his knitted sweaters

• doing your best to conceal your excitement you pull it over your head, your heart beating fast

• Luke laughs

• it's way too big for you

• "do you need me to roll up the sleeves for you?"

• once the cookies are ready to be taken out you immediately want to try them and happily reach out when Luke offers you one

• he pulls it away as soon as your hand comes close

• "Luke!", you exclaim and again try to snatch it away from him

• he's faster though and dangles it over your head

• a few times you try jumping, then decide to quickly duck around him to get one from the tray

• he easily blocks your way

• at your scowl he can't help but laugh

• when you realize he wants you to eat the cookie out of his hand, by how close he's holding it to your face, you blush furiously

• of course you do as he wishes

• imagine visiting a Christmas market together

• Luke definitely leaves work early so you can go at a good time

• maybe you are a little bit overwhelmed with the amount of people pushing in every direction and so, to not get separated from each other, hold on to his jacket

• he enjoys it immensely and if you come across an especially big throng of people, he might even take your hand until you've made it through

• while you're admiring the lights and all the food and little trinkets to buy, Luke only looks at you

• he's hoping for a chance, any reason, to be closer to you

• so sometimes he waits until you've wandered away from him without noticing and then grabs whatever he can reach to pull you back into him

• when he has you where he wants you, he uses the opportunity to adjust your woolen hat and big scarf

• he's very concerned about you not being warm enough

• do you want something warm to drink?

• he would be happy to buy you anything you'd like to try

• on the way back to the car he has an arm tightly wrapped around your shoulder, hugging you closely into his side

• before he opens the passengers side door for you, he gently wipes the snow off your cheeks and lashes

• at some point he'll take you to an ice skating rink, for sure

• he's pretty good at it and would love to show you how to do it too

• do you need a helping hand?

• are your skates laced up tightly enough?

• don't worry, he's right there to catch you should you slip or otherwise loose your footing

• this is your time to pretend you have no idea what you're doing, even if you're normally able to skate just fine

• cling on to him!

• possibly, because he's SUCH a good teacher you manage to do a few laps on your own at the end

• however you have no idea how to slow down again; your focus was somewhere else entirely the whole time

• would he mind awfully if you were to bump into him full speed to stop?

• he pretends to and gives you a lighthearted scolding for immature behavior

• eventually he laughs just as much as you do

• do you want a Christmas tree for the living room?

• and do you think it would make a nice surprise for your friend when they return home?

• naturally he'll take you with him and turns it into a nice trip

• as soon as he realizes however, that you know the guy who sells them pretty well, he starts to regret his decision quickly

• especially since the both of you seem to get along splendidly

• you end up having a very good time, while Luke glares at the young man whenever he so much as looks at you for too long

• to cool off he pretends to look at his phone a few paces away but is at your side again in seconds when he hears your laugh

• what could possibly be so funny?

• he's fuming until you've picked out a tree you like

• very happy with your selection you eventually embarge on the journey home

• having no idea what's going on inside of him, you thank him for taking you

• you had so much fun and it was great to see, whoever that guy was (Luke couldn't care less), again

• although, you muse, he seemed to grow somewhat strange at the end, wouldn't he agree?

• of course Luke agrees and quietly smiles to himself

• since he pretty much involved you in everything to do with the holidays, he'll ask you to decorate the house with him as well and is relieved when you agree

• while you never seemed to grow bored or in any other way tired of being in his presence so far, he still was secretly worried

• maybe you could install the lights and decorations up high?

• it requires lots of precision and he's sure you'll be able to do it much more quickly than he ever could

• don't worry though, he'll make sure to always stand closely by your side in case you fall

• under no circumstances does he want you to get hurt and regularly checks if the chairs and ladders you are balancing on are sturdy enough

• however he'd be blatantly lying if he claimed there wasn't some ulterior motive to his request

• he knows you're more than capable but nevertheless can't resist to steady you more often than necessary

• just a hand on your lower back here

• or one on one of your legs there

• and because neither of you want the tree to accidentally fall over, he offers to pick you up by the waist

• he likes seeing his hands on you

• how easily you fit into them

• later in December he insists on taking you on a shopping spree

• both of you still need to buy some presents

• and since you refused to tell him what you want or need for Christmas?

• he's set on finding out himself

• the whole time he keeps a very close eye on every single thing you look at, making sure to even remember those that seemed to catch your attention only remotely

• oh and now that you're here at the mall anyways, do you already have an outfit for the upcoming festivities?

• he knows a few very nice stores he can recommend

• coincidentally they have some things he's sure you'll look gorgeous in

• at this point you're very close to the 24th and so you sit down to wrap your presents together

• actually it's Luke who does a lot of wrapping while you simply sit at his side and watch in fascination

• not only is he incredibly efficient but all of his packages turn out looking perfect, like something out of a magazine

• it's not like you're bad at what you're doing either but besides his yours just look slightly messy no matter what you do

• exasperated you ask for his help

• but then he moves to stand behind your chair, leaning in closely to reach around your shoulders

• see? It's actually very easy

• meanwhile you have no idea what's going on and can't concentrate either

• would he mind showing it a second time?

• just a few days later you see your friend again and get to know their entire extended family too

• some uncle brought a mistletoe, which he places above the doorway between the kitchen and the dining and living area

• it's a route everyone has to take many times and much chaos and laughing ensues

• you're enjoying yourself a lot

• your friend's family is just lovely and you end up with many pecks to the cheek while going back and forth as you help to prepare the dinner table

• Luke is watching in distress

• how come he wasn't able to catch you under the mistletoe yet?

Christmas Eve was always a magical night for you. The snow-covered streets, the twinkling lights, and the warmth of her family's cozy home all added to the enchanting atmosphere. But something else made the night even more special for you this year. Your crush, Jake, would be spending Christmas Eve with your family.

As you eagerly anticipated the arrival of Christmas Eve, your heart skipped a beat at the thought of Jake joining the festive celebration. Jake, your older brother's best friend, had always been a familiar presence in your home since childhood. He was tall and charming, with a laugh that could fill a room. He was basically family. His friendly banter added an extra layer of joy to every occasion. For you, however, he had long been more than just your brother's friend.

You had been infatuated with Jake since the beginning of high school. He was intelligent, charming, and had a smile that could light up a room. However, you never had the courage to confess your feelings to him. You were afraid of rejection and losing your friendship. So, you kept your feelings hidden and settled on being just friends with him.

As you helped your mom with the final preparations for your Christmas dinner, you couldn't help but steal glances at Jake. He was chatting with your dad in the living room, laughing at one of his jokes. Your heart fluttered at the sight of him, and you couldn't believe he was actually here, spending Christmas Eve with your family.

After dinner, everyone gathered around the Christmas tree to open presents. Your parents had always treated Jake like their own son, so he had a pile of gifts waiting for him under the tree. As he unwrapped each one, his face lit up with joy and gratitude. You couldn't help but smile as you watched him, feeling grateful to have him in your life.

Finally, it was time for you to open your gift from Jake. You nervously tore off the wrapping paper, your heart beating faster with each passing second. When you saw what was inside, you couldn't believe your eyes. It was a beautiful necklace with a small pendant in the shape of a snowflake.

'Jake, this is so beautiful,' you exclaimed, trying to hide your blush.

'I'm glad you like it,' Jake replied, a slight hint of nervousness in his voice.

Your parents exchanged a knowing glance and excused themselves, leaving you and Jake alone in the living room. Your heart was racing, wondering if this was the moment you had been waiting for. You couldn't believe Jake had chosen this special night to give you such a meaningful gift.

'Yn, I have something I want to tell you,' Jake said, his voice shaking slightly.

Your heart skipped a beat as you looked into his eyes, waiting for him to continue.

'I know we've been friends for a long time, but there's something I've been wanting to tell you for a while now. I've always admired you and realized that my feelings for you go beyond friendship. I know it's a lot to take in, but I couldn't keep it to myself anymore,' Jake confessed, his face slightly red.

Your heart was pounding in your chest, and you felt like you were in a dream. You couldn't believe that Jake, your crush of five years, was finally telling you how he felt.

'I feel the same way, Jake,' you said, unable to contain your emotions any longer.

Jake's face lit up with a smile, and he took your hand.

'I've been wanting to do this for a while,' Jake said, locking eyes with you. "Do you mind if I kiss you?"

Your heart fluttered at Jake's question. A soft smile graced your lips. "I'd like that," you replied, feeling a mix of excitement and joy.

Jake chuckled before leaning in and pressing his lips to yours.

The kiss was everything you had ever dreamed of and more. It was full of warmth, love, and a sense of belonging. You pulled away, smiling from ear to ear, knowing this was the start of something special.

As you sat by the fireplace, talking and laughing, you couldn't believe this was all happening on Christmas Eve. You had always imagined confessing your feelings to Jake, but you never thought he would feel the same way.

As the night went on, you exchanged stories, memories, and hopes for the future. You felt like you were seeing Jake in a whole new light.

'Thank you for making this the best Christmas ever,' you whispered, resting her head on Jake's shoulder.

'I should be the one thanking you for giving me the best gift I could ever ask for,' Jake replied, placing a kiss on your forehead.

As the clock struck midnight, you and Jake shared another kiss, sealing their newfound love. You knew this was just the beginning of their journey, and you couldn't wait to see where it would lead you both.

As you said your goodbyes and Jake left, you couldn't stop smiling. You had always believed in the magic of Christmas. This year, it had indeed brought you the greatest gift you could have ever asked for - love.
