20 Questions for Writers
Thanks @mrsmungus for the tag. ❤️
❣️How many works do you have on AO3?
13 total, including three fanart art gifts. The only writing I have is my current work. I'm bringing the old FFN stories over on another account.
❣️What is your total AO3 word count?
834,995- 1 million before the year's end would be nice.
❣️What fandoms do you write for?
So far only Boy Meets World. The fanart gifts have been in other fandoms.
❣️What are your top five fics by kudos? Autumn in Philadelphia Trilogy- 243
Flashbacks- 109
Christmas to Last a Lifetime- 94
Not too shabby for such a massive series with an OC as a main character.
❣️Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes. Eventually.
Ever single comment is incredibly important to me and I don't always have the spoons to respond the way I want to. Rather than rush a response, I wait until I can give it my full attention. There are times, however, when certain comments appear to go answered for months. Those are comments from people I am in touch with privately and have already thanked. I will respond to those in time as well.
❣️What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
The Darkest Night without question.
❣️What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
At this point, probably Christmas to Last a Lifetime.
❣️Do you get hate on your fic?
Is having someone throw a tantrum in your comments hate?
The writer who did this was upset over how the first part of AiP ended because they did not read the tags or summary. They also complained about my OC being better than theirs and whined about liking Audrey more as though at 11 years old I created with Aud malicious intent to hurt them 20+ years later. 🙄
This was the person who also tried to push me out of the fandom, harassed me, and stole my work.
So, hate, no. Immature, entitled behavior, yes.
❣️Do you write smut?
No it's not my thing to read or write. My story is canon compliant and I'm staying true to the content of the show as well. Since it's a 90s kids' sitcom, situations were only dealt with to a certain degree.
❣️Do you write crossovers?
Technically. lol The AiP trilogy is a crossover with BMW and its sequel show, Girl Meets World, but since it's in the same universe I don't count it.
I am in the works of doing a real crossover that I'm really excited about, hopefully soon.
❣️Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes. See the hate on fics response.
I debated how much to say since my socials are still being monitored but you know what, I don't care.
This person stole big chunks of my work from three of my stories and readers have noticed. That's how I became aware of it. Two readers brought it to my attention and just recently another mentioned it also.
I've dealt with it thanks to my dear friends who have had my back through this year + long ordeal.
And ngl, it was satisfying to see her panic and meltdown when the report was submitted and rush her ending. The subsequent attempts to cover her tracks have been popcorn worthy as they have been both comical and pathetic.
Anyone who knows me will tell you I'm too nice and give too much benefit of the doubt which is why no one outside of my friends' circle has seen the massive report on the theft and harrassment.
However, should you dear [REDACTED] try it again, I'm holding onto that report and won't be so nice the second time around. It won't be your friend who's been asking for the link since December 8th that I'll give it to either.
❣️Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not to my knowledge.
❣️Have you ever co-written a fic?
Not yet!!! But soon and I'm so excited.
❣️What's your all-time favorite ship?
Tumblr media
As for canon ship, they change all the time, but currently it's
Tumblr media
❣️What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
At this point it's looking like Birthday Wishes. lol I mean, I have it outlined to the end and the next chapter is almost ready to go, but I'm prioritizing Saudade and have little time for BW, unfortunately.
❣️What are your writing strengths?
I'm not sure. May be characterization? Possibly world building and character development.
❣️What are your writing weaknesses?
Conciseness. lol Also SPAG editing. My brain skips words like crazy when writing and even editing. No matter how many times I go over things, I miss so much.
❣️Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I avoid this personally because I know enough that I'd mess it up. And I only know Swedish which isn't really a language that figures into my work naturally.
As for fics I'm not writing, it really depends on how it's done.
❣️First fandom you wrote for?
Boy Meets World. First published was Labyrinth.
❣️Favorite fic you've ever written?
Ah, how to chose. Autumn in Philadelphia trilogy. I can't get anymore specific than that. lol
No pressure tags to play for: @axolotlsupremacyowo @tsunderesalty @amberlide @winterlovesong1 @justanotherpersonwhowrites @obscureobsidiandraws @stealing-your-kittens @bees-and-sunshine @ligercat
If anyone would like to be included in the tags, please let me know and I'll be sure to get you next time.

20 Questions For Writers
I was tagged by the ever-so-lovely @bilbosmom-belladonna! Thank you so much! (Also, dialogue really is one of your strengths! Your conversations are always wonderful to read!)
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 14, which is more than I thought!
2. What's your total AO3 word count? 89,607
3. What fandoms do you write for? Mainly Star Wars - Particularly The Clone Wars. I have done a couple of crossover Sequel trilogy/His Dark Materials a few years back!
Click to see the rest so I don't take over your dash!
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Whole (SW Sequel trilogy/His Dark Materials)
Sleepwalking (SW Sequel trilogy/His Dark Materials)
Rey (SW Sequel trilogy/His Dark Materials)
The Recruit (SW legends - Jangobi)
Finding (SW Sequel trilogy/His Dark Materials)
5. Do you respond to comments? Yes! Not always quickly, but yes!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Tired - It's literally about suicide.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Honestly, I think The Tattooist wins this.
8. Do you get hate on fics? No, thankfully!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I have NEVER actually written smut! The closest I've gotten is writing someone masturbating! I don't think there's any real reason why. I tend to do the whole *hinted* or fades to black - I think I've made myself nervous I can't write it well now lol!
10. Do you write crossovers? I have! I love crossing basically everything with His Dark Materials for daemon fun. I do prefer taking elements from other worlds rather than crossing characters tbf.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Nope
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? No, but I certainly wouldn't mind!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? No, I think I would struggle with this in all honesty!
14. What’s your all time favorite ship? You can tear Cloud/Sephiroth from my cold, dead fingers.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Gratuitous Clone Wars Wingfic AU - I'd love to write it up properly but it is LITERALLY just gratuitous justification to give the clones wings...
16. What are your writing strengths? I think emotion? I enjoy writing feelings.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? I don't plan or outline - I am very much a "fly by the seat of my pants" writer - I usually have a general idea of where I want to end up but sometimes lose steam/get stuck in the weeds of the middle.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I'm with the OP on this - a smattering of words is fine, but I'd rather just make it clear that people are speaking in a different language and have it in English - unless the audience is not supposed to understand either.
19. First fandom you wrote for? OH LORD. I THINK it may have been Cardcaptor Sakura? This is back in my fanfiction.net days... It was all about a "shadow" clow deck - because I was emo as fook.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written? Honestly, The Ballad of The Guard - It's proven to me that I CAN write longfic, rather than just one shots. And I'm really just enjoying exploring the slow descent into darkness aspect. It's sped up a fair bit lately though!
I shall throw this out there, mainly because I end up tagging people who don't want to do it and then feel bad lol! If you want to do it, feel free to take a tag from me!

20 Questions for Writers
Felt a little like rambling through some answers about writing and AO3. Feel free to play if you're up for it!
Tumblr media
How many works do you have on AO3?
200 at the moment, though of those there are a few that are prompt challenge works because they were hardly enough to be considered a full story on their own.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
985,325 words and counting, which makes me want to pull the word counts from the various WIPs that haven't made it to AO3 yet but ♫ patience is a virtue ♫ (that I'm clearly struggling with at the moment).
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I've written for the Hiddleston, Evans, Brühl, Mikkelsen fandoms - and have a few WIPs that haven't made it to the point of being posted yet but are in development. (And always am open to prompts though I haven't posted anything about the word prompt challenge in awhile... hmm)
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
You've Only Just Arrived (actor!TWH) Unsettled (actor!TWH au) The Long Journey Home (TFATWS Baron Zemo/Sokovian reader/Bucky Barnes) A Turn of the Knife (Ransom Drysdale/ Knives Out prequel) Close Quarters (actor!TWH)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes. Nearly always and likely far too soon after they're posted. Comments are fantastic for learning what pieces of the work really resonated, or what needs to be amended going forward because it didn't land the way that was intended.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Where we've left off in Unsettled probably allows that story to claim the title (which arguably that story wins angstiest anyway), but standing alone I'd say there's a fair few oneshots that could qualify. If you consider snippets of What If, there's one from the LJH world that would win hands down, but I don't consider those snippets as full fics...
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Completed works - probably Lakeside or The Journalist (proper). Where we've left off in You've Only Just Arrived is setting us up for the happy ending that will inevitably occur.
8. Do you get hate on your fic?
I've had a couple comments that stemmed more from misunderstanding than seemed grounded in hate. It was easily clarified and the issue remedied (at least for the first thing that springs to mind).
9. Do you write smut?
Yup.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Haven't had the opportunity yet, but never say never.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes. Quite a shitty feeling when your work is posted without your consent. Please don't do that.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not to my knowledge.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
The Heart of a Villain (jaguar-villain!TWH)
14. What‘s your all-time favorite ship?
I very much enjoy creating [insert character here]/ reader (or original character) ships within various fandoms. My current favorite ship I'm working on isn't even posted yet, but head over heels for villain!Brühl. In terms of a ship I'll always love, though I haven't written for it, is Evelyn & Rick O'Connell from The Mummy (1999)/ The Mummy franchise.
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Never say never. I've had a few peter out from my attention being drawn elsewhere, but fully intend on going back and finishing out what I started.
16. What’re your writing strengths?
I'd estimate that when the dialogue flows it flows really well? When I reread that's what I tend to enjoy the most, along with the emotional connection to the characters. Then again, having lived in those worlds in order to write them... biased opinion. So very biased.
17. What’s your writing weaknesses?
It varies fic to fic honestly. Sometimes the scene doesn't want to be described and it's like pulling teeth to get anything in there. I'd classify the umpteen ongoing WIPs as a weakness as well. The urge to chase the other characters, the other story, and let the ones active/in progress languish... it's something I'd like to improve on, at least.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I've used it as a storytelling element in a few works at this point. I tend towards including the translation in { brackets } for clarification - so long as the characters know the language they're speaking or overhearing. (And please please if you spot anything that's not correct I'm always open to amending the errors!)
19. First fandom you wrote for?
First ever isn't posted here, or to AO3 either. I doubt I'll ever pull the docs and notebooks together to transcribe the Backstreet Boys works - but I suppose never say never holds in that situation too. First that is here and AO3, after I gave myself permission to start writing again, is You've Only Just Arrived.
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
Too difficult a question. There's too much of me in the words, in the characters. I love each of them for varying reasons.

Lipstick and Rose for Marril <3
(For the red ask game)
LIPSTICK - What is their love language?
ROSE - What gift would they most wish to receive from a lover?
Oooohh! Thank you so much for the Ask @pastellbg
Love Language:
Marril is a very physical-touch oriented person who is afraid of being touched or touching others because he fears he may be hurt or he will hurt them
He enjoys hugs, handshakes, arms around the shoulder, kisses, that kind of thing.
But just as much, he is also a quality time person.
He enjoys just spending time around someone and talking to them, which is usually the first love language people see of his. If he genuinely enjoys someone's company, talks to them a lot instead of sparingly, and stays for as long as they want, he probably wants them as a friend.
Now The Lover's Gift
A Kiss
I know it's cliche, but he simply wants her affection and needs nothing more.
But if it has to be an actual object, he really loves Seashells and Candy. If you gave him a box of chocolates, he would love you forever, like the little sweet baby he is

3, 4 and 19?? thanks ^-^ 💜
Hi hi!! @ncoincidences xx Thanks for the ask!
Send me an ask <3
3. What’s your favorite fic that you’ve written?
DWOHT!! I adore the premise and the characters, but also because it came so easily to me and gave me no trouble at all (unlike my current multi-chapter WIPs!). I love them so much there is a sequel in the works...
BUT...I'm also really enjoying exploring a bit more angst than usual in my current release: LAYLOM
4. How many WIPs do you have right now?
SO MANY! Send help! I have 23...
19. Give us a small teaser from one of your WIPs.
From the DWOHT sequel...
Lily slides from the counter – his scorching touch has left her lightheaded – and rises on to her toes to plant a searing kiss on his lips. Her fingers slip under the elastic of his pyjama pants and she grins as he groans when she circles him. When her lips leave his, his brief protest is swiftly silenced –he sees she’s kneeling down before him – before it turns to a hiss of pleasure when she takes her first lick.

20 Questions for Writers
Thank you for the tag, @mrsmungus and @oceangirl24! Sorry I'm late on this!
❣️How many works do you have on AO3?
109, as of today! A whole lot of very varied fics with multiple genres, tropes, and fandoms and ships! I've been working on a lot of OC stuff as of late, and that's become a decent chunk of my fics. Well, if you consider 1/20th a decent chunk XD
❣️What is your total AO3 word count?
I swear I did not plan on this happening, I didn't stall for time just to reach this number, but my exact word count is 420,000!
❣️What fandoms do you write for?
Ah, fuck, there's a lot! Off the top of my head (because I'm too lazy to check Ao3), I'm trying to do more DC, Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece, Demon Slayer, Chainsaw Man, Attack on Titan, Marvel, and OC stuff!
❣️What are your top five fics by kudos?
Skull Signs - 553 kudos
Just Accept It - 525 kudos
Penguin Promise - 413 kudos
What Hurt Brings - 378 kudos
Putting Down The Book - 353 kudos
❣️Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try my best to respond to comments, but sometimes I let them slip and fall under an avalanche that I'm too tired to dig myself out of.
❣️What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Probably Last Words, cuz it straight up is just bad ending through and through. Even the happy moment is sad.
❣️What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
A Wooden Castellan, maybe? Just some good ole birthday fluff!
❣️Do you get hate on your fic?
Hate on my fics? No. Hate because of my fics? Yes. We all met Evil Anon way too many times.
❣️Do you write smut?
Eh, a bit. It's not really my forte, and tbh there are times where I feel pretty left out because I see so many people writing smut and having fun with it and I'm just like "...I can't do that. I don't really write smut."
Gah, sorry for whining
❣️Do you write crossovers?
I think I have two crossovers?
A Detroit: Become Human x Wenclair fic I did by myself and a Ace Attorney x SCP that I'm writing with my best friend, @axolotlsupremacyowo!
❣️Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge, and I honestly don't see why anyone would want to.
❣️Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but @mrsmungus did do a podfic for me, which I absolutely love! (She also sends me voice messages where she sings really nice songs amazingly, even if she doesn't think so!)
❣️Have you ever co-written a fic?
Yes!
As I mentioned above, I co-wrote a fic with @axolotlsupremacyowo, but that's one of three! We did a thing last week where we started fics by ourselves, then swapped them with the other person to finish them! It was so much fun and I can't wait to do it again!
❣️What's your all-time favorite ship?
To be perfectly honest....I have zero clue. I have a lot of ships that I love, and I would struggle to pick out a favorite!
❣️What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Ah, I wanted to finish an old MHA fic from...January of last year, I think, but I doubt I'll ever return to it at this rate. It's just not on my to-do list.
❣️What are your writing strengths?
Oh great, here we go! Ugh. Well, I'd say dialogue and characterization is something I'm pretty great at.
❣️What are your writing weaknesses?
Low confidence, honestly. I don't write well because I don't think I will write well. It's a problem.
❣️Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I do my best to avoid it, because I really don't know any words in any other language! If I find myself needing to do it: I write it like this.
"Random phrase!" [Character] said in [Language].
❣️First fandom you wrote for?
My Hero Academia.
❣️Favorite fic you've ever written?
Not choosing. You can't make me.

Tell my why people have to be so incredibly mean… like you don’t have anything nice to say just don’t say it… I started writing because it’s something I love and enjoy and I wanna bring that joy to others… but why do it if people are only going to put me down for it? Normally hate doesn’t bother me at all… but I just can’t get past this one and it really sucks. Wattpad use to be a community I felt safe in, but lately it’s been more tumblr that’s been more understanding with things.
Like really y’all are going to hate on me for a nickname that’s ridiculous. NEWS FLASH… ITS A FREAKING NICKNAME!!! You don’t like something? Don’t read it, it’s that simple. Why do you have to come up in my comments and make me feel like I’m doing something wrong when I’m not.
I just really am starting to hate Wattpad so much, it’s becoming so toxic and gross and I just uggh… I’m thinking of shutting the Wattpad down 😞 and just sticking with tumblr because all of you guys are the sweetest and kindest people, but the people over there are just gross and mean.
Like over a nickname? Come on. That’s stupid. We all have different ideas of what cute nicknames are so don’t come at me.
I just don’t know what to do and it seems more and more mean comments just keep coming and I can’t…
Like I love writing… but is it really worth it if people are just constantly going to be putting something I write down?

28 33 35 for the writers qs!! 🥰
Thank you!
28. Who is the most delightful character you’ve ever written? Why?
Well I suppose this is talking about OCs here… Hmm I mean they all were kinda based on me and so they aren’t naturally “delightful” people? But I’m probably gonna say Carissa Wiley from my Star Trek (Spock) Fanfiction because she’s just such a sweetheart with some really cute quirks but can get really temperamental too. And she was/is like 95% based on me so yeah, it was delightful to write her too. And I wrote for her the most from all my OCs.
33. Do you practice any other art besides writing? Does that art ever tie into your writing, or is it entirely separate?
Not really, I mean I do some photoedits or stuff that I might use as bookcovers or something. I once did a trailer for my Ben Wade story. I used to draw my OC’s early on or stuff they wear and all that but I stopped that a while back when I stopped drawing lol. Oh, I might make moodboards for bigger series. But that’s about it.
35. What’s your favorite writing rule to smash into smithereens?
Eh I don’t even know how to interpret the question? Like which writing rule I disregard in the end? Hm, I don’t actually have that many writing rules for myself, I just write when I feel like, the way I feel like and all. The closest thing to a rule is like stuff I tell myself to do aka skipping parts I have a blockade on or first write a draft then revise it. And I think the latter is something I don’t really do bc I want it to be perfect the first time. Like I might delete half a paragraph again to rephrase it. Of course I edit and proofread it alter on, but it’s mostly only small stuff like grammatical typos or adding extra information and all.

Fantasy Guide to Building A Culture
Tumblr media
Culture is defined by a collection of morals, ethics, traditions, customs and behaviours shared by a group of people.
Hierarchy and Social Structures
Tumblr media
Within every culture, there is a hierarchy. Hierarchies are an important part of any culture, usually do ingrained that one within the culture wouldn't even question it. Hierarchy can be established either by age, gender or wealth and could even determine roles within their society. Sometimes hierarchy can may be oppressive and rigid whilst other times, ranks can intermingle without trouble. You should consider how these different ranks interact with one another and whether there are any special gestures or acts of deference one must pay to those higher than them. For example, the Khasi people of Meghalaya (Northern India), are strictly matrillineal. Women run the households, inheritance runs through the female line, and the men of the culture typically defer to their mothers and wives. Here are a few questions to consider:
How is a leader determined within the culture as a whole and the family unit?
Is the culture matriarchal? Patriarchal? Or does gender even matter?
How would one recognise the different ranks?
How would one act around somebody higher ranking? How would somebody he expected to act around somebody lower ranking?
Can one move socially? If not, why? If so, how?
Traditions and Customs
Tumblr media
Traditions are a staple in any culture. These can be gestures or living life a certain way or to the way a certain person should look. Traditions are a personal detail to culture, they are what make it important. Tradition can dictate how one should keep their home, run their family, take care of their appearance, act in public and even determine relationship. Tradition can also be a double edged sword. Traditions can also be restrictive and allow a culture to push away a former member if they do not adhere to them, eg Traditional expectations of chastity led to thousands of Irish women being imprisoned at the Magdelene Laundries. Customs could be anything from how one treats another, to how they greet someone.
How important is tradition?
What are some rituals your culture undertakes?
What are some traditional values in your world? Does it effect daily life?
Are there any traditions that determine one's status?
Values and Opinions
Tumblr media
Values and Opinions are the bread and butter of any culture. This is the way your culture sees the world and how they approach different life hurdles. These may differ with other cultures and be considered odd to outsiders, what one culture may value another may not and what opinion another holds, one may not. There will be historical and traditional reasons to why these values and opinions are held. Cultures usually have a paragon to which they hold their members to, a list of characteristics that they expect one to if not adhere to then aspire to. The Yoruba people value honesty, hard work, courage and integrity. Here are some questions to consider?
How important are these ethics and core values? Could somebody be ostracised for not living up to them?
What are some morals that clash with other cultures?
What does your culture precieved to be right? Or wrong?
What are some opinions that are considered to be taboo in your culture? Why?
Dress Code
Tumblr media
For many cultures, the way somebody dresses can be important. History and ethics can effect how one is meant to be dressed such as an expectation of chastity, can impose strict modesty. While other cultures, put more importance on details, the different sorts of clothes worn and when or what colour one might wear. The Palestinian people (من النهر إلى البحر ، قد يكونون أحرارا) denoted different family ties, marriage status and wealth by the embroidery and detailing on their thoub.
Are there traditional clothes for your world? Are they something somebody wears on a daily basis or just on occasion?
Are there any rules around what people can wear?
What would be considered formal dress? Casual dress?
What would happen if somebody wore the wrong clothes to an event?
Language
Tumblr media
Language can also be ingrained as part of a Culture. It can be a specific way one speaks or a an entirely different language. For example, in the Southern States of America, one can engage in a sort of double talk, saying something that sounds sweet whilst delivering something pointed. Bless their heart. I have a post on creating your own language here.
Arts, Music and Craft
Tumblr media
Many cultures are known for different styles of dance, their artwork and crafts. Art is a great part of culture, a way for people to express themselves and their culture in art form. Dance can be an integral part of culture, such as céilí dance in Ireland or the Polka in the Czech Republic. Handicrafts could also be important in culture, such as knitting in Scottish culture and Hebron glass in Palestine. Music is also close to culture, from traditional kinds of singing such as the White Voice in Ukraine and the playing of certain instruments such as the mvet.
Food and Diet
Tumblr media
The way a culture prepares or intakes or treats certain foods are important to a culture. In some cultures, there is a diet yo adhere to, certain foods are completely banned. With Jewish culture, pork is prohibited along with fish such as sturgeon, along with shellfish and certain fowl. Meat must also be prepared in a certain way and animal byproducts such as dairy, must never be created or even eaten around this meat. This is known as kosher. The way one consumes food is also important to culture. In some cultures, only certain people may eat together. Some cultures place important on how food is eaten. In Nigerian culture, the oldest guests are served first usually the men before the women. In Japanese culture, one must say 'itadakimasu' (I recieve) before eating. Culture may also include fasting, periods of time one doesn't intake food for a specific reason.
What are some traditional dishes in your world?
What would be a basic diet for the common man?
What's considered a delicacy?
Is there a societal difference in diet? What are the factors that effect diet between classes?
Is there any influence from other cuisines? If not, why not? If so, to what extent?
What would a typical breakfast contain?
What meals are served during the day?
What's considered a comfort food or drink?
Are there any restrictions on who can eat what or when?
Are there any banned foods?
What stance does your world take on alcohol? Is it legal? Can anybody consume it?
Are there any dining customs? Are traditions?
Is there a difference in formal meals or casual meals? If so, what's involved?
Are there any gestures or actions unacceptable at the dinner table?
How are guests treated at meals? If they are given deference, how so?
