Inuyasha looks down at his clawed hands, flexing them. His fingers dance along like they’re creating magic, the perfect mirror of a witch’s motions. He would make a great familiar to bond with; Kagome can see it now. “From my experience,” he starts, “dangerous people have dangerous edges to them. Those edges catch on everything and hurt everyone, even if they don’t mean to.”

She can only stare in wait, forcing her breathing to slow. She cannot cry. She will not cry.

“You’re very careful with your edges though,” the familiar continues, and his voice is very nearly kind. “I can barely see them, most of the time.”

“You don’t know anything about me,” she manages, a lump in her throat.

“You’re right, I don’t.” His stare is relentless, the gold of his irises entrancing in the candlelight. “What happened to you that made you the dangerous person you are today?”

Lucifer:

- probably will not recognize you off the bat

- Like he’s like “oh ok it’s you” but it doesn’t connect that your HIS

- Like he’s under a lot of pressure right now and stress

- Is pleasantly surprised that you listen so well. Probably gets smug that you listen so obediently

- Sees his sigil on your necklace or something and then it hits him like a fucking BRICK

- Especially if he peeps you doing stuff for him out of habit

- Goes back to look at your file and is like “holy shit I’m literally your patron”

- Will bring it up to you and ask why you don’t make a big deal of it

- “I mean I was already used to living with you? This ain’t much different”

- Ngl in the beginning he would manipulate you about the stairs bc your a good little disciple you’ll do whatever your deity says right?

- But that wouldn’t work bc his first and most basic belief is fuck blind obedience and to question things when uncertain

- Honestly a “fuck I taught you so well but now your using it against me” situation

- Will ease up that you don’t have bad intentions but he’s going to protect his brothers first and foremost

- Will really keep using the line “do not forget that you belong to me” when he’s trying to intimidate you

- But your used to him dragging you to get your life together to its very ineffective

- Gets really frustrated that you already know his nitpicky strict habits because he likes punishing people and lecturing so the fact that he can’t do that to you to be petty really bothers him

- Gets kinda flustered about spending time with you because he’s so used to knowing everything about your life you getting to see him in his home feels too vulnerable for his liking

- Will ABSOLUTELY bring up embarrassing stories about you

- “Ah, remember when you were asking me to help you get a date? Because I definitely do”

- “Me and your ancestors definitely talk about your questionable taste in men”

- Please use this opportunity to be like “this you🤨” because he will have no answer

- “So what the fuck was you sending me all those 11:11 for😐 please elaborate”

- “…. I don’t know what your talking about”

- “What was the reason for you giving me that headache?”

- Will literally Triple his pride when y’all start being intimate

- You’ve given him a god complex but don’t call it that he will get an attitude

- “My most devoted worshiper letting me use them how I wish”

- Will use that as an excuse to fuck you everywhere

- Likes that you have jewelry with his sigil on it or anything you wear for him

- Feels like a collar, letting everyone know you’re his

- Pulls a mammon and calls you “My human” a lot

- Very overprotective

- Probably makes a pact with you In secret before the end of the program

- Like you guys basically already had one why not make it official??

- Especially if he reached out to you and not the other way around? Lmao yeah your definitely his

- If any of the other brothers find out they WILL moan and groan about you not working with them

- Mammon and asmo are the most vocal

- Might end up having to get stuff for them and your altar too love :/

- They will give you stuff to put up there along with a candle

- Congratulations you now are working with 7 demons and they are all very needy

- Belphie will use that as an excuse to take a nap with him all the time

- “Your doing this in devotion to me cmooooon”

- They all will use that card with you actually lmao good luck

Idea for a dp x dc crossover Jason meets Danny before getting to Gotham and ends up completely derailing his plans when Danny while talking about his Rogues to this strange almost Halfa says, "Dear God, I'm thankful Batman has a no-kill policy. My Rogues are bad enough without adding that Clown's ghost to the roster. I just know that the Joker would end up my problem if he was killed, He's bad enough as a human. I'd hate to see how he would be as a ghost"

Jason DID NOT think about that and is now completely back pedaling on his original plans to get the Joker killed, because dear god do the nightmares of a Ghost Joker keep him up at night. His new plan is to somehow convince Bruce to build a prison in space or 10000 feet under the sea to make escape impossible for the clown.

REVIEW: Backwoods Witchcraft by Jake Richards

I feel like Jake Richards's books are pretty popular with folk witches. If you have any interest in Appalachian folk magic, or even American folk magic more generally, you've probably at least heard of this book. Part of why I put off reviewing it for so long is because I feel like there's already been plenty of attention given to it online, so I'll try to make this brief.

Pros:

Definitely authentic Appalachian folk magic. Jake Richards writes about a lot of things I've seen people do or heard people talk about but never seen written anywhere.

This book is really well researched! I'm very impressed by all the references and footnotes.

I love that Richards uses the correct Tsalagi (Cherokee), Gaelige (Irish), and Gaelic (Scottish) words when talking about the cultures that influence Southern folk magic. I also love that he includes pronunciation guides.

Cons:

I didn't finish this book on my first read. It wasn't until I revisited it recently that I actually read to the end. Something about the writing style and the way the book is organized made it a little hard to follow at times, at least for me.

The research is generally good, but there's definitely more detail given for European and Cherokee cultural influences than for African. When talking about European influences, Richards will usually specify the specific country or culture something comes from, but for African influences he just says "African." While this research is harder to do because the slave trade intentionally cut people off from their cultural traditions, other authors like Luisah Teish and Stephanie Rose Bird have shown that we can often trace these African influences back to a specific culture, or at least a region. I would have liked to see the same level of effort put into researching African practices that went into the European ones.

Other Observations:

Christianity is a big part of the author's practice. This is faithful to traditional Appalachian conjure, but just know that it may be triggering if you've experienced religious trauma in a Christian setting. I found this book harder to read than other books on conjure that incorporate Christian elements, and I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because it sounded too similar to the Appalachian church where my abuse happened? Just something to be aware of if this is a tricky topic for you.

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

I find it so ridiculous how hated Sam has been in the spn community.. like what? that little guy? have we been watching the same show? because no- no besides the obviously cute face or even that Dean loves him more then anything WHICH you'd think would make more Dean girls love him purely just because Dean does- BUT NO not just that, he's literally sacrificed so much for everyone else and has went through so much, like I know they all have but c'mon Sam has definitely had some pretty awful shit happen to him yet he is also constantly somehow undermined by the fandom and his own trauma.

although I will add I've seen a little bit more Sammy love as of late, but my points still stand.

Late WIP Wednesday

I'm working on the sequel to my sequel for How to Kill a God and thought I'd share a little bit of it. Might help me get it done sooner...

A voice from above called out to him. “Find anything?” 

Wild was about to answer, when a sound caught his attention. A soft tinkling sound found his ear just as a bright pink light entered his peripheral vision. A fairy? For real?

“Um, hi? Is something wrong?” It made an agitated chime as it flitted around his face before darting towards the back of the wagon and resuming its frantic flutter.

A soft cry came from under the wagon’s back seat. Wild leaned further into the wagon and saw the very edge of a basket. He never would have noticed it if the fairy hadn’t drawn him back there.

He reached in and pulled on the basket—something was in it, the weight making it awkward to pull. He half crawled into the wagon to get a better angle and after some shimmying managed to get the basket out.

Wild backed out of the wagon, basket in his arms. The fairy had returned and was fluttering around the little bundle. He lifted the blanket.

It was a baby.

Bright green eyes glistening with tears looked in his direction. A hiccuping sob escaped the tiny mouth and Wild felt his heart shatter.

“No, no, don’t cry, it’s okay,” he said as he balanced the basket in one arm and brushed a finger against the baby’s cheek. Their skin was so cold.

“Wild? What did you find?” Time’s voice called above him.

There was no way Wild would be able to scale the cliff with the basket, so he reached inside himself for the magic he rarely used these days—the Yiga magic that was branded onto his soul—and teleported himself and his bundle to where Time and Rusl waited.
