do you have any advice for people looking to get into running but are extremely out of shape and overweight? like best ways you think to start slow without hurting yourself and build on it
Hi! Every time I get an ask from someone wanting to get into running it makes my day 100x better thank you sooo much for asking ❤️
I don't know what your definition of "extremely out of shape" is, but if you currently can't handle running for an extended period of time, work your way up with long walks, or walk + run intervals, until you can handle 30+ mins of continuous exercise. GET RUNNING SHOES FOR THAT ALSO. Your body will thank you.
My general beginner running tips post applies + I really recommend paying extra attention to joint care. Running is an extremely high-impact activity — you're slamming your entire weight on the ground 100+ times a minute, and the greater your weight the bigger the strain. I can't stress enough the importance of keeping your runs shorts at first and listening to your body (15 mins 3/4 x week is already a lot!) but generally, strengthening your lower body goes a long way towards healthy knee joints.
Strength: I've already recommended Jay Johnson's Strenght & Mobility routine, but if you're feeling fancy I'd also suggest working your way up to weighted squats, lunges, and romanian deadlifts (2-3 sets, 6-8 reps, using whatever you've got around the house that can serve as a weight). As I said in the og post, I can't recommend enough looking into core activation, which will help a lot if you have breasts that bounce when you run. Big boobs back pain is real.
Chafing prevention: this can be a bitch, unfortunately. Jiggly bits (inner thighs, skin folds, breasts) can chafe a lot, and if possible get leggings / shorts / bras with as few seams as possible and anti-glide gel — if you have declathon in your country, their anti-chafe cream is good and pretty cheap. If you have never heard of declathon, you're probably in the US and I know there are good brands over there also. (This part is unfortunately born out of anecdotal evidence, i.e. my dad, who went on a 10km jog and then couldn't walk for like a week. Chafing is the crotch killer)
Stretching! I'm a hypocrite and don't stretch nearly as much as I should, but don't be like me. Some stretching tips from sports physiologist / very Fast Guy Pete Pfitzinger under the cut.

Here's a Sample Meal Planning Structure:
Breakfast (300-400 calories): Greek yogurt with berries and a sprinkle of granola, oatmeal with sliced banana and nut butter, whole-wheat toast with scrambled eggs and spinach.
Lunch (400-500 calories): Tuna or chicken salad sandwich on whole-wheat bread with lettuce and tomato, lentil soup with a side salad and whole-wheat crackers, leftovers from dinner (controlled portion size).
Dinner (500-600 calories): Baked salmon with roasted vegetables and brown rice, chicken stir-fry with mixed vegetables and brown rice, vegetarian chili with a side salad and a dollop of Greek yogurt

OK so trying to articulate pt. 2 what's been sitting with me re: You're Losing Me especially in light of the track list dropping:
When You're Losing Me came out, I got the feeling that "I wouldn't marry me either, a pathological people pleaser who only wanted you to see her," came from a place not of desperation/resignation, but spite, at least the portion I bolded. In that, to me it sounded like the words once lobbed at her being spat back at the person who first uttered them -- even if only in her mind. There's an anger an intensity when she sings that part (in contrast to the "see her" part), especially as it comes to the peak of the bridge.
With the information that's slowly trickling out, from the way puzzle pieces are starting to fit together with the background, the references to works of art like The Little Mermaid, Clara Bow, even perhaps Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, etc., I'm feeling more and more confident that that's likely the case. If we're taking into consideration context clues from these like the idea of having to give up what makes you sing (metaphorically and literally) to attain the life you think you want, to keep the love you think you've earned, to let bitterness fester and eat the relationship from within, there's an undercurrent of resentment in those lines about the things that make one person soar and the other recoil.
If I were to make an educated guess about these circumstances, I would think the line isn't about marriage writ large, it's about someone who is fuelled by desires -- in this case, to live out in the open, to embrace her world, to drop the shroud from her shoulders ---- and having those desires shunned by a partner who sees that external validation as debasing. A mirrorball to the whims of the public, as it were. But she is saying, this is who I am and this is what I want, and want you to love me not in spite of these but because of these. It's like she's saying, I wouldn't marry the version of me you think I am (that you disdain). She's trying to say, all these things you don't like about me and my life are what make me me.
In other words, it sounds like the realization that the person who is supposed to be your greatest champion thinks of you completely differently (and unkindly) from the person you are. And perhaps the crux of it is, what am I willing to give up to be the version of me this person wants? How many inches must I give before the miles they take become a runway?
In retrospect, the "Me" she wants him to choose at the end of the song may not just be an imploring to make a commitment full stop, but choosing the person she is vs. the person he thinks he wants, because she's sick of twisting herself into knots trying to cater to him when the goalposts keep moving. Their love comes at a cost to both, and it's one that may erase everything she holds dear.
We're in for a wild ride in April.

I think you have best theories in the fandom about shanks. It’s like you see more than most of us. So that’s why to just have simple yes or no answer would be enough. I have this level of trust in you.
Do you believe makinos child is shanks or someone’s else?
I just can’t stop thinking about this, because for me I don’t see it, but it’s so popular I feel stupid or blinded by my other ships.
thank you for your kind words!! you probably shouldn't place this must trust in me though, LOL. i'm just reading and overthinking everything in the source material, like everyone else is.
is it possible that shanks has a child with makino? well.. yeah. to put it bluntly, the simplest answer is usually the right answer with oda. he's already established that makino and shanks are friendly from chapter one, and shanks is even seen dressed up for a wedding on one cover page, which oda sometimes uses to tell canon events that don't fit the flow of the current arc. (think of enel's journey to the moon, for example).

me personally, though? i've got beef with this idea, and not for the reasons you might think. makino and shanks as a couple is fine to me; i don't find their relationship all that compelling, truthfully, but they fit the mold for most of oda's canon pairings.
when it comes to shanks' characterization, though, the idea of him having a child at this point in the story strikes me as both offputting and irrelevant. shanks is an emperor, and given his actions, his current responsibilities are clearly the priority. so the thought of shanks leaving makino alone to take care of their child is... strange? his status has the potential to endanger them. he is surely too preoccupied to be sailing back and forth to see them.
you could argue that this parallels roger and rouge, but i also think that's the worst possible way oda could have shanks mirror his old captain. at least in roger's case, oda had ace become a relevant part of luffy's story. what narrative purpose does this serve? is it to humanize shanks? i'm not quite sure what oda's angle is, here.
we also have to consider shanks' past. shanks left uta behind, so i don't think he is "above" leaving his newborn child, so to speak, but his reasoning in that situation was far more complex. here, though? this would be shanks ACTIVELY choosing to bring a child into this world, knowing full well he cannot take care of it until he sees his goals through. (SHANKS? patient, protective shanks, unable to wait to start a family? the boy who was an abandoned child himself? does he not believe that he will live long enough to wait? if so, why would he leave makino with that responsibility at all? characters can make selfish decisions, but i can't see any reasoning from shanks' perspective. this is a problem to me.)
so, in short, no, i'm not exactly a fan of this theory. i just don't see the merit of adding it to the story, when the implications seem to contradict what we know about his character. and again, what is the narrative benefit that outweighs the faulty logic? what do we gain as readers? what does this do for the story? to me, it feels like nothing at all.

Why the fuck did 5 pro-anorexia blogs follow my main overnight? Like? I'm blocking all of you, obviously. Had a friend die from starving herself in middle school. I don't fuck with that shit. One of the blogs literally had a post like, "My mom is concerned about how much weight I've lost recently, but she's just jealous that I'm not the fat kid anymore and she still is. Skinny girls don't think about recovery." Like... Please listen to your mother. Holy shit. This is self harm and she's concerned. Your mother is not jealous that she's fat and you aren't. Stop. People literally die from this shit, and promoting an extremely unhealthy lifestyle isn't cute in the slightest.
