okay but a fic following tommy in jackson as he watches sarah’s look-alike grow up and have her baby. maybe he develops his own relationship with this girl and her kid, and it helps him deal with losing sarah??????? perhaps????? stay with me!

like we see how hard it was for joel to see her just once in 1x06. assuming tommy’s been in jackson for years, which i do, he has probably watched this young woman grow into an adult, getting struck with that pain of distant familiarity every single time he sees her. i imagine it would lowkey torture him until he truly confronts his grief over sarah and the life she could’ve lived

and imagine when she—im gonna name her kiara bc i hate when characters don’t have names—gets pregnant. tommy has to watch as kiara’s belly gets bigger and bigger, watch as the jackson community frets over her hand and foot because jackson takes extra special care of it’s pregnant residents, watch from the sidelines as kiara gets a future that sarah will never have while looking just like her

but THEN maybe he gets to know her a little bit???? maybe kiara knows he does housework and eventually asks maria if anyone can help fix-up and baby-proof her little two-bedroom house to prepare for the little one. maria knows tommy would be the perfect man for the job, but she also knows that he keeps careful distance from kiara on purpose

she sees the way his shoulders tense and his easy expression drops every time she’s in his line of sight. she saw how one time, when kiara had come over to talk to maria while she was sitting with him, tommy could barely handle looking at her up close: he ended up staring at his plate and clearing it—even the squash medley, which she knows he fucking hates—until he had reason to leave the hall completely.

but there truly is no one else she would rather help kiara; the only other person that does housework as good as tommy is fuckin jacob, and jacob is seth’s best friend, which means he’s a lowkey bigoted asshole that will only do “favors” for maria if he gets something in return. she, frankly, doesn’t want him anywhere near kiara. so maria still talks to tommy about it, and because he’s the most selfless loving man she’s ever met, he agrees. they talk about backup plans and what tommy should do if he gets too triggered—they’ve been working at distress tolerance and detecting when his mind is going fuzzy, so he knows to get straight to their home and wait for maria when it happens. privately, maria talks to kiara and tells her that tommy is still dealing with some stuff that triggers him and might need breaks once in ahwile; she knows to go get maria immediately if this happens

so tommy helps kiara out, and along the way they get to talking and being more friendly with each other. kiara reveals that she’s extremely nervous to be a mom, that she’s doing it alone (the asshole that was with her split jackson when he foundnout because men still be menning in their apocalypse). she tells tommy that she’s never been more scared to do anything in her whole life, and she lived alone as a young girl in FEDRA-run QZ

and suddenly, tommy realizes he has had almost this exact conversation before. with joel. he remembers standing by and watching joel freak out over baby-proofing their place, raving and ranting: how am i supposed to do this, tommy? we have too many fucking cabinets—look at all of these fucking cabinets! aye, im gonna ruin her. and tommy had been speechless in the face of all that fear. he knows how scared they both were, and he knows what he would’ve wanted to hear then, too. with the gift of time and wisdom, he finally knows what to say

so he comforts kiara, and by some miracle, it actually works. he tells her about joel raising sarah alone, and how terrifying it all seemed, right up until she actually got to them: he tells her how all that terror turned into love the moment he held that little ray of sunshine in his arms. he tells her about how sarah used to be what he and joel called a boo-boo magnet, constantly falling over and knocking into shit, always having bumps, scrapes, and bruises as a result. most importantly, he told kiara, she was always just fine: as long as she felt loved, sarah was always just fine. kiara’s baby would be just fine, too

and this convo changes kiara’s whole perspective, her whole vibe. tommy see’s the difference in her now, when he spots her in the dining hall or walking across town with a hand on her belly, tense with excitement instead of anxiety. he feels the difference in himself, too: he’s no longer struck with the abstract pain of remembrance as he sees her, now. he just feels honest friendship, true familiarity, and a rush of fond protectiveness for her that reminds him of the way he felt for sarah. it doesn’t hurt, or at least not the same way. it feels good, knowing kiara as kiara, not as the ghost of his niece. it feels right

she always makes sure to stop and talk to him when they cross paths, asking him about his work around town (or teasing him about he and maria, because at this point they’re trying to keep it lowkey but. kiara knows. talia knows. half of jackson suspects it and kiara wants the inside scoop okay so SPILL tommy just tell me!!!!!). somehow, tommy has developed a good relationship with the girl he thought he’d never have the guts to speak to

when kiara is on her last couple weeks of pregnancy, mostly bedridden and definitely ready to give birth, she asks tommy to stop by once every few days to have lunch or dinner with her. it always suprises him, but he always goes. they talk mostly about raising children: how different it seems to be post-2003, how scared kiara still is even despite her new confidence, how tumultuous sarah’s first few months were. he realizes, later, that he hasn’t talked about sarah this much to anyone but maria since she’s passed. he finds their conversations ease the ache in him more than avoiding kiara ever could’ve

when kiara has the baby, tommy accidentally becomes a quasi-godfather-uncle-grandparent without even having been asked. it’s clear that, from their time together, kiara is very fond of him—judging from the way her baby, kelsey, always settles down and stares at him in wonder whenever he’s around, it’s clear she likes him too. when kelsey becomes old enough to smile, she’s never ever around tommy without grinning and giggling, enamored by his silly face and silly voice and silly mustache, which she’s always trying to pull off. when kelsey becomes old enough to walk, kiara can’t bring her anywhere near tommy without the toddler trying her best to baby-sprint over to him. more than once, she’s fallen smack-down onto her face and gotten right back up, arms outstretched to tommy as she continues determinedly to toddle over. when kelsey becomes old enough to speak, she’s constantly calling for him and babbling to him when kiara finally brings her over. kelsey can’t even really pronounce her t’s until she’s three, so for awhile she calls tommy “mommy,” and kiara thinks it’s hilarious. she’s called mama anyway, so it doesn’t really matter to her that her baby calls this semi-random grown man mommy. everytime, it makes tommy want to simultaneously laugh and cry

by the time joel shows up, kelsey is six and not-so-obsessed with tommy anymore. her and kiara still join him and maria for dinner at least once a month, and kelsey has distant memories of calling tommy mommy, then uncle mommy, then finally naming him tim-tam-tommy when she turned four, the nickname for him that still stuck. he thinks about warning joel about her, when they talk in the bar, because he sure as hell could’ve used a goddamn warning—but the conversation goes left, so they never get there.

when joel sees kiara and kelsey for the first time, it’s hits him as hard as it once did tommy

Beginners Guide to your Fanfic Tag game

I was tagged by @wannab-urs and @magpiepills

I didn't forget, I just had to write it down and save it in drafts because sometimes Tumblr will let me do stuff and other times not. 👀

Anyway, you pick however many of your fics you think readers should read first to get to know your work or what you would recommend to them. I think the two lovelies above picked five each so I'll do the same. 🫡 I put in bold themes that can be found in each fic, but do check the warnings. You picks as many as you like. 😄

Drops of Sugar - This ongoing series started with a two part fic that I wrote with Joel Miller (no outbreak - he deserves to be happy especially in my delusions) and Layla (OFC). It morphed into vignettes that I started writing about different points in their relationship. It's easy, breezy and beautiful. Domestic fluff and some smut.

Pleasure Principle - This was my first series (still ongoing) Dave York and Kiara were drawn to each other, have a lot of sex and are trying to figure out feelings. This series in particular had readers point out things that I didn't realize I included. 👀 Like not only a B&E but also that she was not mad at it. Which should indicate how twisted these two are. Also a domestic Dave, but manipulative with groceries and laundry? Smut, angst and feelings.

The Long Road to Together - My longest one shot (16k people like hydrate and have a bathroom break) to date. It features Tommy Miller (no outbreak) and Velora (OFC). My take on a friends to lovers trope that had a few twists because they're both messy. They need Joel and Sarah to be the voices of reason. Joel also has his own sub-plot, becuase Tess. Smut, fluff and angst.

Sard'ika Sessions - My neat six sexy sessions the reader has with Din Djarin, The Mandalorian. Is there smut in every session? Yes. Did I make it gradually increase? Sure and added some non-canon Mandalorian lore that I'm sure is true (in my delusions) which would be in chapter four. There are feelings because sometimes I stick feelings in between the sweaty bits. One thing in this series I did focus on was communication between Din and the reader given how their relationship starts and progresses. I was really happy when people commented and picked up on that aspect. Also a lot of beskar and hands. I in particular enjoyed writing the final session for the cameos I wove in, the blindfold, Din being a complete menace (Maker Yes!! 🙌) and a phrase I didn't realize I stuck in there, "not giving two wookies about what they said or did." 🤣 SMUT, feelings, dash of angst, fluff. (in that order)

Weddings 101 with Dieter - This is neck and neck with Sard'ika Sessions as my favorite. I enjoy all my work (why else would I write it?) But this holds a special place because it's ridiculous, the premise is flimsy and it's just fun. Maya (OFC) needs a lift, Dieter gives her one, there a villa. The goat is a supporting character and has Dieter's back no matter what. Oscar Isaac is slandered and injured (I'm sorry, but I was giggle wheezing while writing his parts it only gets worse) might be an enemy of Dieter's at this point. Oh and there's a wedding? Did we mention that? It's not that important. The weird cloud drum sexy dream I wrote for Dieter is what matters. Priorities people! I envisioned this as the rom-com that I've never seen Pedro in. That's why I wrote it. Not that all this would ever make it into one such movie. 🤓 My attempts at comedy, fluffy as a cloud or a goat, eventual smut, some drug use, future Oscar Isaac mishaps/slander, Dieter's MOUTH AND HANDS. Whatever else I think to put in this thing.

-Umm so first I took insperation from your hurricane paranormal society thing so most of my Fazbear Frights are in some group/organization to discuss "weird" things that they've seen, heard or that have happend to them, Greg is the founder(?) ig, cause he started it some little blog thing and ppl started adding their own stories, so it basically became some online group thing, then they started meeting up irl

-Greg Chapman is Native Hawaiian/Polynesian, he was born December 16th, 1997 and is 15yrs old,

No one there is really close with Sarah, I mean there’s Dev maybe but she doesn’t want to make anything seem more than it is (I know this sounds like she has a crush or something but I mostly, mean in a platonic way, like she doesn’t want to make it seem as if they’re close friends when they’re less than that, I say mostly because I actually may make her have a “crush” on him for like comphet reasons) she's mostly just the sweet one and that's about it, she's a bit creeped out by Kelsey though, catches him staring a lot (y'know it's funny, usually she'd be honored if a cute boy was staring at her)

Julius also desperately needs a wheelchair (walking with crutches for such a long period of time gets tiring) but his parents can't exactly afford it

At group meetings Kelsey literally talks to no one BUT Devon (and well, Oswald) like I don't even mean he only has conversations with him I mean if he isn't talking to him he'll just be standing or wandering around looking lost and shit (he thinks the others seem nice but he can barely even make eye contact)

My AU's Kelsey isn't an entity or whatever he's just a weirdo and got into some concerning shit (kinda like Vanny basically) + Kelsey doesn't get lured into the suit, Dev was planning to but Kelsey got really apologetic and shit and it kinda made him feel like awkward and guilty, Dev was still kinda considering it but then Mick kinda interfered

Kelsey does go missing the same day he was supposed to die, Mick and Devon don't tell anyone about the fact that they were kinda the last people who were aware of his whereabouts, etc.

Either way Kelsey doesn't die (kinda) so that's the important thing

Kelsey has some weird mini Freddy Fazbear robot-doll thing that he keeps in his room, Dev says it's cool but Mick thinks it's, off(Yes, it's a Lonley Freddy, Yes, it's Alec)(when one of your 7-8th grade besties is trapped in some weird robot doll thing you have and you don't even know😋)

Rylee Prescott always kept it together: never once complaining about how her mother treated her badly or how her father cheated on his wife. She never even got the chance to formally grieve her late brother, constantly forced to pretend everything was alright until she just . . . snapped completely.

The quiet, well liked Hawkins High student donned a ghostface mask and began a killing spree against those who made lives of the unfortunate miserable. The first victims were Carol Perkins and her boyfriend Tommy Hagan, and soon branched off with Billy Hargrove and Jason Carver.

Kiara Adeoye is based on Kiara from The Lion King 2. She is a 24 year old shapeshifter, student, and uses she/her pronouns. She has the power of shifting. Kiara is portrayed by Rachel Hilson and she is taken.

CATCHING MY DEATH, AND I COULDN’T BE SURE

Life wasn’t as easy for Kiara as some might think. The only child and the apple of her parents’ eyes, she had everything she could ask for... everything except freedom. Amid family tension the town they lived in was becoming dangerous for a shapeshifter and no matter how much she insisted she could handle herself, her father didn’t seem to believe her. More than once, she caught his friends tailing her around town after he’d promised to allow her to go out unsupervised. Her mother was on her side and insisted she was a smart girl and he should loosen the reigns, but he was a stubborn man who only pretended to budge. She understood he wanted to keep her safe, but she started to wonder if it was truly the rest of the world he didn’t trust, or her. She knew that she was small and sweet, but she wasn’t stupid, and she wasn’t weak. She was sick of being seen as just a goody-two-shoes when there was so much more to her than that. She was halfway through her degree when the whole family woke up in a hotel in Evermore with no recognition of how they got there, an occurrence they soon found out was the normal around town. While Simba wasn’t pleased at all with the arrangement, Kiara was grateful for whatever had brought them there... and that it had taken Kovu, too, who she was just getting close to. Her father was too focused on finding a way out of this town to pay as much attention to her, and no one knew who or what she was here. She switched her major to something that actually interested her and no one batted an eye, distracted by the obvious. As much as she misses some of those back home and wants her parents to be happy, too, she can’t help but hope they’re trapped for awhile longer. It’s taken twenty four years but finally, Kiara feels like she can make her own path in life, and find out who the other half of herself is in the meantime.

I HAD A FEELING SO PECULIAR

❀ Webby Vanderquack: Kiara ended up sitting with her for lunch one day when all of the other tables in the restaurant were taken, and she really liked her personality. She doesn’t have many friends here yet and looking back, she wishes she’d gotten her number. ❀ Brynn Utonium: They’ve only spoke a few times, but Kiara supports everything the other girl stands for. She wants to get to know Brynn better, as she’s become a sort of a role model for her in a very short amount of time. ❀ Tommy Pickles: She met Tommy at the university, and he ended up showing her some of the films he’s made, both for school and his own personal projects. Kiara finds it cool to see the world through his eyes, a world she’s never really known.
