✧ DRUNK ON YOU ✧
Tumblr media
a/n: we just keep getting filthier as the fics progress this month. so i've never written spit kink this way before. i honestly didn't think i'd be into it, but there's something about this man that makes my brain fuzzy. this is listed as me wanting to get tipsy with torres cause i feel like he'd take care of me. i hope y'all enjoy!
day six - spit kink | kinktober 2023
summary: "after a long week of stress—your job taking more out of you thank you would have liked—you needed a night out. if only to spend time with him."
word count: 1k+
pairing: joaquín torres x f!reader
warnings: EXPLICIT SO MINORS DNI, spit kink, spitting, swallowing, sir kink, dom!joaquín, fluff.
Tumblr media
Two drinks. That’s all it took for you to wind up like this. Draped over your boyfriend at the club, tucked away in a corner booth, as he whispered something in your ear you could barely hear over the loud bass of the music. It thrummed through you, vibrating your entire body as you sat there, smiling at him with a hazy look in your eyes. Something he’d seen many times before.
“How are you feelin’?” he asked, running a thumb along your chin.
You grinned, leaning into his touch. “Good,” you mumbled, loving the way the alcohol sent warmth spilling into your body.
“Yeah?” He’d been sipping on the same glass of water the entire time you’d been there, already claiming the spot of designated driver tonight.
After a long week of stress—your job taking more out of you thank you would have liked—you needed a night out. If only to spend time with him. He pulled you closer, his hand splaying across your back, the warmth of it a delicious feeling. Part of you loathed the fact that your dress was keeping you from him. That thin layer of fabric stopping you from feeling his bare touch.
“I want,” you said, dragging a finger along his button down, picking at one loose button. In your hazy mind you made a mental note to fix it tomorrow—knowing he would let it simply fall off.
He nudged his nose against your cheek. “What do you want hermosa?”
The deep color of his brown eyes caught you in their hold, drawing you in closer until you couldn’t find your way out of them. Joaquín’s hand slid down lower, fingers brushing the top of your ass, and your breath hitched. Something now stirred in your chest, building slowly. Sensually.
“Want you to kiss me,” you breathed, curling a hand around his collar and drawing him in closer.
There was no resistance from him, because if there’s one thing he wanted more. It was to devour you. To drag you into the club’s bathroom and make you see heaven. He was as voracious as you—desperate to feel you in every manner possible. Which left you here. Sliding your lips against his and moaning softly when he took the lead—his hand grasping onto the back of your neck and pulling you closer.
Your heart fluttered, his touch making you want to drag yourself into his lap. The fact that you were still in public was the only thing that registered in your brain, keeping you from making a spectacle of this. To others you looked like two people in love. After all, it wasn’t odd to see people makeout in the club. But to each other…you were so much more. There were times you wondered if the word love could even describe what you felt for this man—what you knew he felt for you.
Biting down on his lip you pulled it into your mouth, sucking on it until his pained groan echoed in your ears. He licked into you, tasting the tequila on your tongue and smiling when it spread along his. There was no doubt that he was a good kisser, but you could feel the restraint in his touch. Taste the desire on his tongue.
“Kiss me,” you begged, pulling him closer until he practically covered your body.
He chuckled, running his thumb along your cheek. “I am bebita.”
You shook your head. “No. The way you want to. Please…sir.”
Something flickered in his eyes, turning them darker. The club’s neon lights illuminated him from behind, casting a blurry halo around his head, and you could feel the breath get knocked from your lungs. Joaquín was always beautiful. That was a fact you had no doubts on. Yet tonight—even through your drunken haze—he looked ethereal. Like a god come down from the heavens above to bestow a kiss on your lips.
Oh how lucky you felt.
His swollen lips parted, nose flaring slightly as he used his thumb to pull at your bottom lip. “Open your mouth for me.”
You followed his request before he finished it, your maroon red lips parting, tongue barely sticking out. As if on instinct you fell into that familiar space. Waiting for him to tell you what came next, what he wanted from you. He grinned, leaning closer and blocking you from the eyeline of everyone at the club—his thumb digging into your cheek.
You felt it then.
His spit hitting your tongue, coating it. Some landed on the corner of your mouth and before you could do anything, he was dragging it along your cheek, smearing your lipstick right along with it. Making a mess and giving you exactly what you asked for.
“Swallow.”
Heat trickled down into your lower body, slick spilling into your already drenched panties. And he watched you follow his order dutifully. Swallowing with a fucked out grin on your lips. He groaned, mumbled good girl, before he dragged you back, kissing you with a fervor that hadn’t been there before. He licked along your tongue, his hand digging into your hip to prevent himself from touching you further in public.
Moaning, you tried to tilt your hips up into his hold, but he held you down against the booth. Kissing you so thoroughly you felt it down to the very tips of your fingers.
“We’re going home,” he said, entirely out of breath—a flush spreading along his cheeks. “Now.”
You nodded, biting down on your lip and fluttering your lashes. “Okay sir.”
He closed his eyes, taking in a deep breath, before gathering your coat and purse, leading you carefully out of the booth. Even though you weren’t entirely steady on your feet, he still kept you close. Making sure that you made it out safe. He was ever the protector—always the one who made sure that you came before anything. That thought alone nearly made you drag him back to the bathrooms.
Five steps out of the door he leaned down, pressing his mouth against your ear, his arm tightening around your waist. His breath was hot against your skin, causing goosebumps to raise along your arms. But that’s not what made your knees shake, breath catching in your chest.
“My turn to taste you,” he murmured, his fingers trailing along your waist—completely aware that the alcohol was no longer the thing you were drunk on.

For your summer sleepover 🩵 neighbour!Joaquin + saying goodbye at the door
pairing: neighbor!joaquin torres x female reader
words: ~500
a/n: thank you bb for this ask! <;3 I decided to go with the fluffy/funny route with this
Tumblr media
You linger a little watching your new neighbor carrying your big pot from your car to your door. His muscular arms peeking under his black t-shirt, a glimpse of a golden chain shining at the back of his neck and the way he just seemed to want to help, it all made you incredibly attracted to you.
"Is this spot alright?" He asks as he turns around with a big smile on his face. God you could get lost inside it, it felt like he could power through the whole world with the warm energy he emitted.
"Yes." You stammer a little, you have no idea where you want your pot anyway, it's not like you can remember.
"I can place it anywhere you like." You chuckle as you come close to him.
"I think my mom wants it next to the door, she'll move it when she comes back from work."
"I can come by later, we'll be at the house shaping it, it's no problem for me." God, his friendly nature made you want to jump right into his arms.
"Oh, we wouldn't want to impose ourselves too much, honestly if I dragged it a little, I'd make it."
Joaquin smiled and pointed at the big heavy pot. "Well, no reason for you to break your back when I'm around."
You tried very hard to control yourself and not say something completely unhinged. Joaquin shrugged at your silence and awkwardly gestured to leave.
"Wait." You shook your head." You gotta let me make it up to you, somehow."
"Hmm." Joaquin mused and pointed at the lemon tree right next to your porch. "If you got any homemade lemonade that's my favourite."
You widened your eyes and looked between him and the tree and almost panicked because you can't remember if you got any.
"You know what." You smiled, "What about I collect some and I make you some freshly squeezed this afternoon?"
Joaquin nodded his head and beamed. Thank God your brain worked only momentarily.
"Tonight then."
"Tonight." You nodded and looked at him. You both spent a few moments looking at each other not really wanting to leave even though you had already made plans for tonight. You both stayed there smiling at each other until a honk was heard pulling you back to reality.
"Oh, shit, I gotta get to work." Your friend frantically waved from the driver's window. Joaquin chuckled bid you goodbye and headed down the street.
"New piece huh." Your friend giggled as you got inside the car. "Oh, shut up." You turned the volume up and pulled your phone up googling how to make lemonade.

These Hands Had To
Fandom: MCU Characters/Pairings: alpha!Joaquin Torres x female!omega!Reader Word Count: 963 Summary: After their first mission, Torres told Sam Wilson that people who said things were better during The Blip were wrong, and even though so many things have changed since the snap that reversed The Blip, he still firmly believes that. However, there was the emergence a rumor - possibly a reality - that was the stuff of folklore and fiction: a biological hierarchy of alphas and omegas determining new contexts for human interaction. It's Joaquin's job to sort and sift through the chatter of rumors, conspiracies, and whispers, and sort out what's plausible, but this...
Content Warnings: omegaverse, brief strong language, fluff to smut (abrupt SMUTTY SMUT, p in v penetration)
Additional Notes: Written for the week three 'Something New' challenge for @the-slumberparty to try a trope I've never written before. I was struck with a big want to write something for Torres because he really doesn't get enough love, and then one thing led to another and I knew I wanted to throw him into an Alpha/Omega situationship, and I had ideas for their meeting and also ... their mating, but my brain also got flooded with the WHAT IF idea of what if when the Avengers snapped everyone back into existence, they also triggered an omegaverse that was slowly but surely manifesting among the world population? because... why not start entertaining that what if? idk. if this lands, I think there's room for a lot more, but... no promises. Title inspo from our lord and savior Taylor Swift. Also, bonus trope I've never tried before: a "how it started/how it's going" fic.
A/N 2: Also a meet cute vote for @thestanceyg Trope Madness 2023.
Tumblr media
HOW IT STARTED
Joaquin’s head snapped up.
There was a faint scent, but it was distinct – floral and a little something else, and it was there, pulling at something in his chest, his lungs yearning for more of it.
But he remained absolutely still as you smiled politely, stepped into the elevator, hit the button for the forty-seventh floor, and stood off to the right side of the elevator as the doors slid closed.
Shit. Shit. Shit.
He’d read about this maybe two months ago. Reports and rumors of biological shifts, primal manifestations. Unpredictable, but undeniable once they manifested. The information was limited because it was an unprecedented phenomenon that seemed beyond belief, and almost equally becoming feared or glorified as it emerged across the globe.
And why was his brain hyper focused on the theories when you’re now in an elevator with him and in a matter of moments you’ll part ways?
What was on level forty-seven? Had he been to that floor before?
He was a naturally friendly and reasonably intelligent human, why couldn’t he form words? What was happening?
He didn’t need to flirt, he just needed to say something.
He turned his frame slightly towards you and “What’s on forty-seven?” tumbles out of his mouth.
“Oh, I’m not sure, first-time meeting with a potential client for me.”
“Who are you meeting with?”
“Strictly confidential,” she retorted, turning her face up to look at him, a coy smirk already on her face, but when her eyes met his, the draw was palpable, and he knew she could sense it, too, because her jaw dropped for half a moment before she blinked and then looked ahead again.
“What about you? Are you a regular?” she asked.
He smiled but looked ahead as well. He was glad she didn’t want to let the silence linger after that moment. “Semi-regular. I’ve been doing some consulting.”
He watched the floor count continue to rise, quickly approaching the forties.
“What’s your line of expertise?”
“Intelligence,” he replied.
And then she laughed, but it was warm. “That’s almost as vague as my ‘confidential.’”
He joined her laughter. “It’s the veritable truth. Cross my heart.”
“Your heart?” Her head inclined toward him again, and he mirrored that small side glance.
“Mhmm,” he hummed.
The elevator suddenly jolted and paused, the lights flickering, and they both reached out to steady themselves, resulting in each throwing an arm towards a wall and to each other.
But it was only half a second and then the lift continued its smooth ascent.
But he was now closer to you, and you locked eyes again. Joaquin slowly moved his fingers down your forearm, keeping his eyes on yours, and then lifted your wrist up. It seemed instinctual, natural to want to draw your wrist close and truly take in your scent. But he did so cautiously, he knew he wanted to do this, but he wasn’t sure if it was too forward for a connection like this. Softly, he pressed his nose to that tender pulse point and inhaled.
You chirped, which seemed to shock even you, as your eyes grew big, and you covered your mouth with your other hand.
But you didn’t withdraw your hand from his grasp, and your scent now was easy for him to identify – floral with a hint of citrus, warm. His heart swelled in his chest.
Then the elevator dinged, and the spell broke. You took your hand back and stepped out of the doors as they opened.
“Good luck with the meeting,” he called out to you disappeared and the doors closed.
Then he hit the wall of the elevator, cursing that in that final moment he hadn’t even thought to ask for your name or tell you his. His mind started racing through possibilities because that was clearly an Alpha and Omega moment and he needed to see you again.
HOW IT’S GOING
You were naked in his arms, straddling his lap, your breasts pressed against his chest, while he rubbed each of his wrists over your cheeks, causing you to whimper, overwhelmed by this act of scenting you yet needing more of his intoxicating smell at the same time. You rocked down against his erection, causing him to growl into the kiss you shared. A moment later, he had you on your back, looming above you, the powerful alpha showing his dominance, yet watching your face, eager to prove he would not subjugate you, but instead worship you. He did not want to merely claim you, he wanted to pledge himself to you but with the understanding that you give yourself in return.
“Are you sure? I want you with everything in my being, but not until you are ready to give me your body, your heart, and your soul, Omega, it has to be all or nothing.”
Looking into his eyes, the fire in them was so fervent, you didn’t hesitate. “I’m already yours, Alpha, please.”
“Say it again,” his voice was low, but every one of your senses was fully focused on him in this moment, as he guided his cock over your folds, only stoking the desperate fire your felt for him in your core.
“I’m yours, Alpha.”
“Mine,” he echoed, and plunged in with one powerful thrust, filling you completely, knocking the air out of your lungs.
You gasped and clung to his shoulders, a sob escaping you.
He brought his hand up to cup your cheek and kissed the corner of your mouth. “So good for me, Omega, how does it feel?”
You canted your hips, wanting him to move.
His hand moved quickly to your hip instead, stilling your movements.
“Use your words, Omega. How does it feel to finally have my cock inside your tight cunt?”

Cozy Valentine
Joaquin Torres x Reader
Plot: Valentine's Day doesn't have to be over the top. Sometimes, all you need is simply good company and great food.
Genre: PG-13, Fluff
A/N: A little slow but Happy Valentine's Day (regardless of relationship status!) because everyone deserves that extra love!❤️ Thanks for always showing my stories love and I apologize that I haven't been that active.
Tumblr media
Trope: Deep Friendship. I couldn’t choose one from that section because I think it’ll be great if readers interpret it their own way! Thanks @the-slumberparty for the opportunity again!
❤️💜🩷🩵💛💚
"Thank you!" The last library patron calls out and you wave back gratefully.
You shelve back the remaining books and made a sweep around the premises to make sure that there was nothing left behind before calling it a day.
The lights are switched off and you step out into the open, the statue lighting up the path to the bus stop. The last group of students huddle under the shelter and you can't help but to notice a few couples cozing up with each other as the rain slowed down into a drizzle, giving a cool breeze to the evening.
You can't wait to get back home, get into your jammies and watch Princess and the Frog with Barbecue chips. Someone should have warned you that holding a part-time job and job hunting was much harder than it sounds.
"There you are!"
You see Joaquin inside his jeep that is parked at the bus stop. His greeting has clearly attracted attention as students unbashedly stare at you. Joaquin seems the least bothered as he chuckles watching you make a run for the jeep.
"Drive! You can't stop here or else you'll get honked by the bus!" You scolded playfully as the jeep takes off.
"Hello to you, Miss Bossy," Joaquin laughs. "Hungry?"
Before you can respond, a loud growl emits from your stomach and you go positively tomato. "Don't say a word." You threaten as Joaquin raises a hand in surrender.
"Your choice mi lady."
"Ramen."
Joaquin drives you to a row of shophouses near the university library you work at. The smell of meat and broth wafting through the shop as the staff guides you to your table almost had you drooling for miles. The service was first class as the bowl of noodles came out just minutes later after your orders.
It had been a tough couple of months for you, but being with Joaquin somehow made your stress magically disappear. You didn't have to put a mask, or be mindful of your mannerisms. You could be… you. Suppers with Joaquin became a regular schedule and the situation you had to deal with became less scary.
The laughter went deep into the night and Joaquin drives you back, Ed Sheeran playing gently on the radio. The jeep rolls to a stop as you reach your apartment.
"Wait." He stops you from leaving the jeep and stretches his arm to the back to retrieve a white paper bag. "This is for you. Enjoy your movie."
You look into the paper bag and see a blueberry cake neatly presented in a box along with a rose.
"Thank you," you lean forward to give him a hug. "Thank you." You feel stupid for repeating your thanks but that was exactly how you were feeling. Joaquin made today a little less lonely. He made your fight a little less lonely. You will yourself not to cry and Joaquin smiles at you sadly.
He makes sure you've safely reached your apartment before leaving. Everyone is away on their trips and you have the whole apartment to yourself. Maybe you'll use the big screen TV instead of watching the film from your phone. You wash up and prep the movie. You put the bag of chips that you laid out earlier before leaving for work back into the basket and plate the blueberry cake.
You're all set in your baggy shirt, the movie starts as Tiana works towards her dreams, the cake tastes particularly sweet today and now that you've noticed… the rose seems brighter in the dark.
You don't know why, but it comforts you.

joaquin torres x sunshine!reader/ofc
4k words
she saves someone, and joaquin saves her.
moodboard
note: i wrote this with my oc in mind that i plan to write more about, but i wanted it to be read as a reader insert as well! let me know what you think :)
Tumblr media
She had been living in Washington DC for a little over a year now. She moved there for grad school, and some of the excitement had yet to wear off still. It had seemed like a good idea at the time, with all of the good schools nearby and all of the things to do and learn in the capital. It seemed like a busy enough place to never be bored, which was exactly what she wanted. It really had seemed like a smart idea, especially since she hadn’t had any problems since moving there.
Until she did.
She was out with her roommate after classes had ended for the day, enjoying the warm spring day and simply happy to be people watching as they hung out. It had quickly become one of her favorite things since moving there, something she shared with her roommate, Jasmine. She was always glad she and Jazzy got along so well and liked spending time together, often spending time just being out and about like today.
Jazzy was showing her a small outdoor shopping district just outside of a park. It must’ve been really popular because it was packed with people. People were out walking their dogs, parents were out shopping with their kids, couples and friends were on dates and lounging on the grassy areas. Music was coming from the open doors of one of the stores, loud enough to carry even as you walked away from it. Something smelled good, like fresh bread and cinnamon sugar, and she wanted to follow her nose to figure out where it was coming from. There was a warm breeze that made her shiver whenever they walked in the shade, so she pulled Jazzy away to make sure they stayed in the sun. A few kids ran past them playing tag. It made her smile, she hoped they were having fun.
She was pulled out of her thoughts when she noticed a bit of commotion going on. She couldn’t tell where it was coming from, but it was progressively getting louder. From the looks of it, she wasn’t the only one who had noticed as many of the people nearby were looking around as well. It continued to grow louder and louder until she spotted a large group of people running in their direction, all shouting and screaming to get away. A ways behind them, she spotted a group of big looking men in scary looking masks carrying scary looking weapons, all running after them with their weapons pointed forward. Before she could think about how cliche that sounded, she knew they had to get away first. Many people around them were coming to the same conclusion as they all began turning tail and running. She and Jazzy shared a look of understanding before following suit.
As everyone kept running away and the noise was getting louder, another noise caught her attention above all the commotion. She could just barely hear a small voice calling for help, but it was loud enough to get her to stop running. Her head whipped around trying to find whoever it was, wherever it was coming from. Her eyes landed on a little girl sitting on the ground holding a little boy, and even from her distance she could see they were crying.
“MOMMY!” the little girl kept shouting, tears running down her face as she tried to pull the little boy up with her. They had to be brother and sister. She sounded terrified.
She took off before she could think about what she was doing. She could vaguely hear Jazzy calling after her, trying to get her to turn around and come back, but she couldn’t. The only thing on her mind was getting to those kids before they could get hurt. She wouldn’t let that happen.
She slid to a stop and knelt down next to the kids when she got to them, unconcerned about the fact that she tore a hole in her jeans by doing so, nor the bruises and scrapes she no doubt would have on her knees either. The little girl, maybe seven or eight, kept pulling on her brother’s arm trying to get him to move, but he was sat on the ground firmly, bawling his eyes out and refusing to move. She knew he couldn’t have been older than three years old.
She looked around for anyone who could have been their mother, anyone willing to help, but everyone was running in the opposite direction. She turned her head to see the group of men getting closer and closer, and they were gaining fast. She was the only one around.
“I need to get you out of here,” she said, turning back to the two kids, voice urgent. “I’ll get you back to your mom, I promise.”
She tried to pick up the little boy, who immediately started shouting and fighting when she did so. He was on the verge of a full-blown breakdown, determined to stay exactly where he was no matter what she did.
“He won’t let anyone but mom pick him up,” the little girl cried, “but I don’t know where mommy is!”
Seeing how frightened they were broke her heart. There was no getting them to move if she couldn’t pick the little boy up, but she couldn’t just leave them. She wouldn’t. She didn’t know what to do, and she was struggling to come up with something fast enough. With another glance over her shoulder, she realized she was out of time. They were too close now, seconds away and coming right towards them.
“Hold onto him, and don’t let go!” she ordered the girl. Once the girl did as she said, she grabbed both of the kids and held them to her chest, making sure neither of them would get hit as she awaited the inevitable first—and what she expected to be the final—blow to hit.
She felt a strong gust of air rush over her head, and at the sound of a fight right behind her, she held on tighter to the kids in her arms. She knew this was it. In a heartbeat, it’d be finished. She’d be finished.
“Are you okay?”
The voice was closer than she expected, making her jump, but it sounded genuinely concerned. Chancing a glance behind her, she was met with a pair of soft brown eyes.
She looked past the man to see what was going on, only just noticing that the commotion had stopped, and she could see that the group of men were all lying on the ground unconscious with a man holding a shield standing above them. Everyone knew who Captain America was, but she never expected to come across him herself. Knowing that the kids would be safe now, she looked back to the man in front of her and was shocked to see he had a pair of wings on his back. The Falcon. They were positioned in a way that was meant to shield them from any danger.
She finally looked back at the Falcon. His eyes hadn’t left her the entire time, and he stayed put in front of them, as if he wanted to make sure nothing could happen to them even with the threat gone.
Instead of answering the man, she turned back to the kids in her arms. They were still crying and scared, she knew they would be, but at least she knew they would be safe now. She scanned over them for any injuries, and once she knew they were unharmed, she cupped the little girl’s face to get her attention.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay. It’s okay now. You’re safe,” she assured her, speaking softly to help her calm down a bit. She stroked her cheek to gently wipe away her tears. She felt her own heart beating out of her chest, but she couldn’t focus on that right now. “I’m gonna get you back to your mom now, okay? Let’s go find your mom.”
She glanced back at the man behind her again, who still hadn’t moved, before she eased the kids up into standing. The weight of the situation was finally catching up to her, her head swimming as she tried her hardest to focus on getting the kids back to their mom before anything else. She kept looking between them and the man who saved them. Stuttering, she said, “I… I need-”
“MOMMY!” the little girl called, grabbing her brother’s hand and running to meet the woman who was running towards them.
She watched as the older woman dropped to her knees to meet her children in an embrace, her own tears streaming down her face as she held her children to her chest. The woman began kissing all over their faces and on the tops of their heads, and the woman’s voice was just loud enough for her to hear her repeating my babies to the children in her arms.
She was walking towards the family before she knew what she was doing. Her knees were screaming at her causing her to limp slightly, but she didn’t care. She needed to make sure they would be okay. Once she was close enough, the woman looked up at her and a look of gratitude crossed her face.
“Thank you,” the woman managed to say through her tears. “Thank you for protecting my babies.” For a moment, she thought the woman was talking to the Falcon, the one who actually had saved her kids, but the woman was looking at her.
“You don’t…” she started, beginning to shake her head, but she knew it would be pointless. Instead, she said, “I’m just glad you and your kids are safe.”
She watched them a few more moments before the woman gathered her kids up and hurried away from the scene. She couldn’t blame them, she wanted to do the same.
She suddenly remembered the man who had saved them. The Falcon (she couldn’t get over it). She turned back towards him, and this time she really took him in. His wings had retracted back into his suit, thankfully, as they had been very distracting. He was tall without being towering. His skin looked warm and sun-kissed with sharp cheekbones that made her wonder what he looked like when he smiled. He had a head of short, curly black hair, and those soft brown eyes. Those eyes that were still watching, a strange gleam present that hadn’t been there before.
She didn’t really know what to say, feeling awkward, but she didn’t need to. Before she could even thank him, he spoke instead.
“Are you okay?” he asked again. Something told her that he wouldn’t leave until he knew she was.
“I’m fine,” she finally answered. She didn’t know if she was telling the truth or not, but she still wasn’t able to focus on how she really felt. The kids were safe, their mother was safe, and as far as she was concerned, that’s all that mattered. And this man made sure of that. “Thank you.”
The man seemed to relax a bit at that, his shoulders losing some of their tension. He opened his mouth to say something else, but another voice cut in.
“Torres! We gotta go, man!”
It was Captain America who interrupted (which was something she never thought she’d experience), having just been talking with the police who she hadn’t noticed had arrived. They were hauling the men—masks gone and in handcuffs now—into the backs of the police cars. The hero was inspecting their weapons, clearly waiting for the other man—Torres, apparently—to join back up with him. Torres looked between the two of them, seeming conflicted. Before either of them could say anything, they were once again interrupted.
The sound of Jazzy calling her name snapped her out of whatever was going on, and she turned to see her roommate running straight towards her. Before she could comprehend what was going on, Jazzy was grabbing her arm and pulling her away, determined to get them away from anything else that might happen. She looked back at the man, Torres, and called out another thank you! before she let her roommate lead her away from the scene.
In truth, she didn’t think she would ever see him again. Why would she? He was The Falcon, Captain America’s partner and a superhero in his own right. He had to have saved countless people all the time. He probably wasn’t even in DC anymore. There was no way she would see him again.
But then she did.
She volunteered at a local elementary school, and today they were taking the fifth graders down to the veterans rehabilitation center. They liked to decorate the walls with pictures and bring flowers for the veterans, wanting to try to brighten their days a bit and thank them for their service while doing so, and she liked being part of it as well. She couldn’t imagine what some of them have gone through, but she would sometimes sit in on the group sessions to try to understand more. It was why she made sure to take the kids there at least once every couple weeks.
“It was so nice seeing you and the kids again, sunshine!” the kind lady at the front desk said as she was getting them ready to leave. It was a nickname she had quickly picked up since they started going there, and it always made her laugh.
“Of course, Laura!” she replied. “I’m just glad they like coming down here as much as I do.”
Laura chuckled lowly. “Your visits always make everyones day. They may not say it often, but they appreciate it. More than you know.”
She smiled softly at that. “We try our best. We just want to show our respect and try to brighten things up for everyone, you know?”
“Don’t sell yourself short, hun. What you do with the kids and for everyone here, not many people would do it. We all appreciate everything you do around here. We appreciate you.”
She looked down bashfully at the older woman’s kind words. She never really knew what to say to that. Her eyes flicked back up to Laura. “Oh, I almost forgot!” She reached into her bag and pulled out a small bin. “I know you’ve been wanting to try Jazzy’s brownies.”
The wide grin that appeared on Laura’s face was enough for one to form on her’s as well. She nearly snatched the bin out of her hand, causing her to laugh. “You spoil me, sunshine!”
The two shared a few more words before she checked the time, knowing she needed to leave soon if she didn’t want the bus to leave without her. She said goodbye to Laura with a promise to be back the next week, and the other woman jokingly promised to be ready for more treats. With a wave and another smile to her friend, she began making her way to the front doors. She was in high spirits as she was preparing to leave, paying no mind to the man she passed on her way out until he called out to her.
“Hey, it’s you!”
She almost didn’t stop, but when she looked around the area and saw it was mostly void of people, she figured it was her he was trying to get the attention of. When she stopped and turned around, her eyes widened when they met the same soft brown ones she first saw just the other day.
“It’s you,” she repeated, not knowing what to say.
For a moment, she wondered how she could even miss him. Sure, he wasn’t wearing his suit or his wings and seemed, therefore, much less intimidating–not that he seemed intimidating in the first place, but he did save her life, and there’s just something about meeting a superhero face to face that makes a person feel overly self-aware. Without the suit on, you wouldn’t even assume he was a superhero, though in her head she was kicking herself because of course that was the point. He just seemed so normal, and she felt like she could pay more attention now that her life wasn’t on the line. He wore a dark green jacket over a black shirt and jeans, a pair of sunglasses hanging from one of the pockets. His shoulders filled out his jacket well, subtly showing off his built but lean muscles. Part of her wished she could remember what they looked like in his suit when they were more noticeable, and she mentally kicked herself again for thinking that about a complete stranger. His dark curls were styled simply and looked soft to the touch, and she was sure they were.
Those eyes, though. Unlike before, his soft eyes were looking at her in pleasant surprise rather than concern, his lips quirking up in what was almost a smile. But that weird gleam she saw before was still there, and if anything, it was much more apparent than before.
It took her a few more seconds to realize neither one of them had said anything, her eyes glancing off to the side as her mind raced for something to say. He must’ve realized the same thing because his eyes widened suddenly, taking a step toward her once he knew he had her attention.
“Sorry, um,” he began, searching for his words, “I just didn’t think I’d ever see you again, but I’m glad I did. How are you doing, after what happened?”
Her eyes widened slightly again, surprised by his words. “I-I’m doing fine,” she answered, but she wasn’t sure how much she believed herself. She added, “‘ve just been trying to get back to normal, is all.”
He seemed satisfied enough with her answer and started to nod, a small smile playing on his lips. “I’m glad you’re okay.”
His words surprised her again. In a burst of confidence, she replied with, “Well, I did have someone to save me.”
His smile grew as he looked down sheepishly, and she thought she heard him say just doing my job under his breath. When he looked back up at her, she thought she liked seeing that gleam in his eyes, especially when he smiled. She thought happiness looked good on him.
“What are you doing here?” she asked gently, suddenly remembering where she still was.
“Oh, I’m here to meet my partner,” he answered. “He helps out with the counseling sessions when he can. But I’ve got some information I need to discuss with Cap.”
Somehow, it didn’t surprise her to hear that about Captain America. In fact, it made her respect him even more for trying to help people on a more personal level, not just fighting as a superhero. Saving lives on all fronts, she was sure. But the way he talked about why he was there was just vague enough to pique her interest, and just telling enough for her to understand she shouldn’t pry. She was going to find a way to politely remove herself from the conversation, but he spoke again before she could.
“What are you doing here?” he asked, repeating her own question. He cringed at the way it came out, so he quickly added, “I just mean, this is the last place I expected to see you. Are you in the military?”
She shook her head, nearly chuckling. “No, I’m not. The school I volunteer at brings some of the older students down here every few weeks. We like to bring flowers and write cards, you know, to try to show our respect and appreciation. Try to brighten up people’s days where we can.”
“You do all this?” He asked, gesturing toward the decorations on the walls and the flowers here and there. His eyes had widened in surprise again, and it was her turn to look down bashfully this time.
“Not just me. It’s the kids, mostly, but I like to help out.”
He looked impressed, and something about the look on his face and those damn eyes caused her face to heat up. She wasn’t used to this kind of attention.
“Well, I can confidently say that I’m not the only one around here who loves seeing all of the notes and decorations,” he said softly, the smile on his face filling her with a sense of warmth she hadn’t felt before. “It’s amazing what you’ve been doing. We all appreciate what you do. And the kids, of course.”
Something told her that he was speaking more for himself than he was for everyone else, and somehow she knew that he meant it toward her directly. The thought made her smile.
His face suddenly got more serious, though, instantly making her feel nervous. “What you did the other day, with those two kids, too. That was amazing.”
That was not something she was expecting, and she definitely didn’t know how to respond to it. She crossed her arms over her chest and looked down, suddenly feeling shy. “I did what anyone would do.”
But he was already shaking his head. “No, really. You saved those kids. I may be the one with wings, but you’re the real hero. It was incredible.”
When she glanced back up at him, she saw that a small smile had reappeared on his lips, and somehow, it was enough to ease some of the tension in her shoulders. It was enough to comfort her in a way she hadn’t felt in a long time, and it made her feel seen in a way she never had. All with one look, which is what really surprised her. She knew deflecting would be useless, so she settled with telling him, barely loud enough for him to hear, “Thank you.” And she meant it more than he knew.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” He asked one final time.
She wanted to laugh that he wouldn’t let it go so easily. “I am, or I will be. I promise,” she answered, and she knew she was telling the truth this time. “Besides, this wouldn’t be my first time in a situation like that, and I’m sure it won’t be my last.” Now that got a good reaction out of him, even though it was the truth.
“Speaking of the kids, though,” she said before he could think about it too much, checking the time again and realizing she’d officially run out of time, “I have to get going so I don’t get left behind.” She looked him over one more time, trying to memorize as much as she could, before she began to turn away. “It was nice to see you again, and to talk. And thank you, again, for saving me.”
His smile warmed her from the inside out. “If it meant getting to see you again, I’d do it in a heartbeat.”
She forced herself not to shudder before turning around. She had only made it a few more steps before he suddenly stopped her again.
“Wait!” he called, almost too loudly for the quiet hallway. “I didn’t ever get your name!”
She wanted to kick herself again. How had they gone this entire conversation without learning each other’s names? She glanced back over her shoulder, seeing that he had barely moved from his spot. With a warm smile directed at him, she told him her name.
Another smile began to form on his face in return, and it looked like he repeated her name under his breath. Their eyes met a final time before he responded with his own. “I’m Joaquin. It was really nice to meet you, too.”
She turned around before he could catch the wide grin that was beginning to form on her face against her will and tried to rush out of there as subtly as she could. As she went, she could just hear him, Joaquin, repeat her name a second time, and even from where she was she could hear a smile in his tone. She left the building with a bounce in her step and a warm feeling in her chest.
All because of the Falcon who saved her.

You didn’t understand the phrase “home is where the heart is'' until you moved in with Joaquin Torres.
This living arrangement happened by chance, a chance that you were grateful to have stumbled upon. After deciding it was time for you to leave the nest, you found a place for rent that also had a few other roommates. One of them being Joaquin.
You met Joaquin and the other roommates before moving in with them. Luckily, you all hit it off right away and settled in fairly quickly. But you found yourself really close to Joaquin. He was the one roommate that had a similar schedule to yours. You both would wake up late in the morning before heading to work, and then come home in the darkest hours of the night.
The first time you discovered how late Joaquin returned home from work was the night your friendship began. After coming home from a long day, you decided to treat yourself to a batch of pancakes. The rest of your roommates were heavy sleepers so you rarely disturbed them. Since you were occupied with the pancakes, you didn’t hear Joaquin come through the door. He waltzed into the kitchen upon smelling the pancakes and crept up behind you.
“I bet those would taste amazing with bananas,” Joaquin commented nonchalantly. You whipped your head around, swatting the spatula in his direction and accidentally coating his nose with batter.
“Oh shit! I’m so sorry!” You gasped, attempting to clean the mess from his face. “I thought you were an intruder. I didn’t mean to hurt you…or cover you in pancake batter.”
Joaquin snickered. “Don’t worry, you didn’t hurt me at all. But I admire your self defense skills. I think that will give me motivation to keep the bathroom clean.”
You joined in his laughter. “I think I made enough for you if you’d like some pancakes. You might have to slice your own bananas, though.”
With that, you and your roommate shared the short stacks while getting to know one another better. This ritual of late night snacks after work persisted until the conversations grew louder to the point of accidentally waking one of your other roommates. Since that incident, you and Joaquin decided it would be best to meet one another at the 24 hour diner down the street.
Over time, your roommates moved out one by one until you and Joaquin were left to hold down the fort. The two of you living together consisted of movie binges on the weekends, checking out the monthly farmer’s market, dancing while cleaning the perimeter of the house, and taking walks along your street during sunset. Slowly, but surely, you were falling deeply in love with Joaquin.
You knew you had strong feelings for him when you both decided to buy a bookshelf for your ever growing book collection. While building the bookshelf, you jammed the hammer against your finger, causing you to shriek in pain and the rest of your body to go numb. All you remembered before blacking out was your roommate rushing to your side and carrying you out the house bridal style. A few hours later, you woke up in the hospital with a cast wrapped around your finger and a relieved Joaquin holding a bouquet of roses and baby's breaths. The smell of the flowers and his sweet, handsome face instantly brought you comfort.
“Shouldn’t you be at work right now?” You asked upon noticing the time on your bedside.
“I told Sam what happened and he ordered that I stay here with you.” You gave him a sad look, feeling bad that your clumsiness caused him to miss out at work. Joaquin smiled, patting your hand. “Don’t worry, Sam is understanding.” The softness of his hand against yours sent butterflies to your stomach. Your heart began to swell as if it would explode inside your chest from all the feelings you were experiencing in that moment. His touch, his smile, his affection for you. It was all clear to you then. You were in love with Joaquin Torres.
After returning home from the hospital, Joaquin spent the entire week by your side, making sure you were taken care of. Sure, you were a grown up and could care for yourself, but you appreciated how your roommate reminded you that you don’t have to be alone in the healing process. He would sing softly while tending to your finger and let you smoke some of his weed to ease the pain. Once you started feeling better, you and Joaquin finished building the bookcase together and he offered to read one of his favorite stories to you.
One day while Joaquin read to you, Sam called him, notifying him of an emergency assignment and was expected to leave right away. The night before he left, you and Joaquin crashed on the couch after getting high and watching an alien documentary on Netflix. You fell asleep before he did, and, naturally, your body curled up next to his as you dozed off. He listened to your snores for a few minutes before planting a tender peck on top of your head. Before he knew it, Joaquin drifted off to sleep.
You woke up alone in the living room, searching for Joaquin. Instead, you were met with a note on the coffee table.
Sorry I couldn’t give a proper goodbye. You looked so peaceful sleeping, I would have been a horrible friend to wake you up. I’ll see you in a month!
-J
While your roommate was away on mission, you spent your days sulking and missing him. You tried to go on with your routine as if he was still there, but things felt empty and meaningless. The pancakes from the diner didn’t taste as fluffy when you ate alone. The music you listened to while cleaning the house didn’t lift your mood the way it did with Joaquin. His favorite stories didn’t sweep you away to another world the way it did when he read them. The flowers around your house died faster, even though you tended to them the same way you always had. You didn’t even bother taking walks or going to the farmer’s market by yourself. It was the longest month you had ever experienced in your life.
Meanwhile, Joaquin could not wait to fly back home to you. The days were long and draining, and it seemed as if he and Sam were constantly running into dead ends. What kept him motivated during this difficult mission was a photo booth strip he kept of you and him at the summer fair. Even though looking at the pictures made him miss you dearly, he was hopeful of the day he would reunite with him.
“Is that the roommate?” Sam inquired from behind Joaquin’s shoulder. The Falcon’s cheeks warmed up and he began smiling like a smitten school boy. Joaquin didn’t need to say anything for Sam to know what was on his mind.
“So, are you ever going to tell her you love her?” Captain America added with a quirked eyebrow.
“I’ve been wanting to. I just get nervous.” Joaquin peered down at his combat boots. “She’s my best friend, Sam. I don’t want to ruin that.”
“Ouch, and after all we’ve been through, I thought I was your best friend.” Sam’s joke led to Joaquin letting out a small chuckle. “No, but seriously, you will feel much more free once you just tell her.” The younger lad nodded, imagining all the best case scenarios of confessing his love for you. His daydreams of you were cut off by the gunshots that echoed in the distance.
Tumblr media
The end of the month finally rolled around, yet there was no sign of Joaquin. Anxiety took over your body as you wondered why he hasn’t come home yet. Part of you wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but your sadness made your mind wander to anything and everything that could have gone wrong. You dragged yourself to work as you have been doing for the entirety of Joaquin’s absence. While you worked, you stared at the matching photo booth strip pinned to the wall of your office. A hot tear streamed down your cheek, longing to see Joaquin’s face and hear his voice again.
After work, you came home, ready to settle into your comfy bed. You sighed loudly as you hopped out of your car, slamming the driver’s door shut and locking it behind you. All of a sudden, your eyes landed on a motorcycle that you haven’t seen in over a month. Then, you saw light coming from inside the house. Could it be?
You ripped off your work pumps, bolting into the house barefoot in hopes that your mind wasn’t playing tricks on you. As you entered through the front door, the delicious scent of bananas and vanilla filled your nostrils. Your heart bursted at the seams upon the sight you found in the kitchen. Joaquin was humming along to your favorite song while drizzling a stack of banana pancakes with syrup. As if sensing your presence, he beamed a sparkling smile while turning to face you.
“I came home an hour ago to an empty home. Figured you were still at work and you’d probably be hungry when you come back.” He paused, glancing at the plate on the counter. “I made sure to add bananas this time.”
Your lips trembled as you fought the urge to cry. You wanted to run and jump into his arms, feel his warmth bring you back to life, kiss the lips you have been aching to taste for an entire year. All you could do was drop your bag and heels by your side as you succumbed to the tears that fell from your face. Joaquin took that as his signal to step closer to you. He caressed your face, wiping the tears from your eyes.
“I missed you,” you croaked, finally embracing him tightly. Your hearts beat in sync with one another, as if that was the way the universe wanted it.
“I missed you too.” He stroked the back of your head before making space to gaze into your glossy eyes. “It’s hard to be away from the girl I am madly in love with.” You couldn’t help but let out a tearful giggle at the words that left Joaquin’s mouth. It felt as if all of your wildest dreams were coming true. Yet it was only the beginning.
“Being The Falcon requires me to travel the world so often, and to see places I’ve always wanted to visit. But none of that matters to me because despite where I go, I find myself wanting to be wherever you are instead.”
“I love you, Joaquin.” You started to close the space between you and him. The tips of your noses brushed together, the heat from your breaths mingling like your feelings for one another.
“I love you, too, cariño.” With that, he finally pressed his lips against yours. You kissed one another with a passion that no one could snuff out. His lips were sweeter than the pancakes that were long neglected on the counter. Joaquin lifted you up and you immediately wrapped your legs around his waist as he led you to the couch where you both professed your love throughout the rest of the night.
When you both woke up the next morning, bare bodies intertwined under the thin blanket, you felt a sense of belonging. It was unfamiliar to the two of you, but it was a feeling you accepted with open arms. You and Joaquin were both hopeful of the future that you were ready to build together like the bookcase filled with stories you hoped would become your reality. After locking eyes for what seemed like eternity, Joaquin kissed you with fervor, and you picked up where you left off from last night.
He was home, and so were you.

Joaquin loved you more than he’d ever loved anyone in his life. That meant he had to protect you, above all else. His way of doing that was to keep you entirely hidden from the most dangerous part of his life. You had met his family, his childhood friends and Air Force buddies, but he refused to introduce you to Sam or Bucky. They didn’t know about you at all, and Joaquin didn’t want that to change. It wasn’t that he didn’t like or trust them, he just felt that the further you got into that part of his life, the more danger you would be in, so he kept you out of it entirely. You didn’t mind. You were curious about his avenging, but he didn’t keep secrets from you. He just kept you as his secret.
You woke up one morning in Joaquin’s bed, snuggled into his chest. Sunlight was sneaking through the blinds and making his brown skin look bronze. His chin rested atop your head as you held each other tightly and tangled your legs together. You barely moved when you woke, but Joaquin knew at once.
“Good morning, mi amor,” Joaquin’s voice called out, low and gravelly as he shook off the tiredness. You smiled against his chest.
“How’d you know I was awake?“ You asked as you yawned.
“I don’t know,” Joaquin replied thoughtfully. “I can just tell.” He felt your lips spread into a smile against his chest.
“Do you have to go to work?” You asked. It was the weekend, but Joaquin didn’t exactly run on a five day week.
“No, just you and me today,” he assured you. You snuggled closer into his chest and hummed in contentment. The two of you stayed like that for a while, both of you feeling warm and safe in each other’s arms. The thing that interrupted you was the rumbling of your stomach. Joaquin chuckled when he heard it.
“You a little hungry, mi amor?” He asked with a grin.
“Yeah, but I’m nice and cozy here,” you said. Joaquin kissed the top of your head.
“I’ll go make you breakfast,” he said. He loved to cook for you. It was one of his ways of showing he loved you. You whined when he started to pull away from you.
“Don’t leave,” you said, keeping your arms closed around him. Joaquin chuckled.
“We can come right back here when we’re done with breakfast,” he offered. You sighed.
“Fine. I want to take a shower anyway,” you said. Joaquin rose from the bed, pecking your forehead as he left and headed for the kitchen while you got in the shower.
Joaquin had just finished making breakfast when there was a knock on his door. He opened it to find Bucky and Sam standing there and was immediately filled with panic. You were still in the shower but you could come out at any moment. He didn’t want them knowing about you. Not yet. Not now.
“What are you guys doing here?” He asked. They pushed past him and into his house.
“We need to head out as soon as possible. Got a tip on a possible super soldier sighting,” Sam explained.
“Okay, I’ll pack and meet you guys at the compound,” Joaquin said, doing his best to get them to leave without it seeming like he was hiding something from them. He went to stand in front of the hallway to his bedroom as if keeping his body there would somehow keep you separate from this part of his life.
“Sighting was in New Jersey, we’ve got a car downstairs for all of us,” Sam replied.
“Great, I’ll be down in a minute, you guys go wait for me,” Joaquin tried again. Meanwhile Bucky was quietly taking in Joaquin’s apartment. Bucky had noticed the two plates of food sitting on the counter.
“Who’s the other plate for?” Bucky asked. Joaquin’s mouth shut tightly as he struggled to think of an excuse. Sam grinned when he saw the lack of response. Sam and Bucky were aware that Joaquin tried to separate them from his personal life, and catching him with a girl was something they were both amused by.
“My sister,” Joaquin lied. “She’s coming over for breakfast.”
“You don’t have a sister,” Sam replied.
“How do you know that?“ Joaquin questioned, trying to change the subject.
“I’ve seen your file,” Sam replied. The conversation continued to grow louder and more chaotic as the three men argued about the true purpose of the second plate. You heard the commotion as you stepped out of the shower. You pulled on a pair of Joaquin’s boxers and one of his shirts and then headed out into the kitchen. The boys were all in the midst of arguing over each other when you appeared.
“Baby, what’s all the nois—” You stopped when your eyes landed on Sam and Bucky. Joaquin looked back at you with fear in his eyes. “I’m sorry,” you said at once. You knew how much Joaquin didn’t want you brought into this part of his life.
“‘Baby?’” Bucky repeated in question. “Have you been hiding a girlfriend from us?” The room was quiet as Joaquin tried to figure out what to do. You walked forward slowly to stand behind Joaquin as he faced his bosses. You wrapped an arm around him to rest on his stomach, your other hand gently tracing a careful line up and down his spine with your fingertips. You kissed his shoulder blade, trying to soothe the anxiety you knew he was feeling.
“Maybe it’s time,” you said quietly. Joaquin nodded.
“Seems like it,” he murmured back to you. His hand found its way to the one resting on his stomach and he curled his fingers around yours, tugging you forwards so you stood next to him. “This is y/n,” Joaquin said to Sam and Bucky. “She’s my girlfriend.” Sam smiled. Though it was amusing to him that Joaquin had put so much effort into hiding you from them, it still pleased Sam that Joaquin had someone, especially someone he wanted to protect so carefully.
“It’s nice to meet you, y/n. I would love to say that we’ve heard about you, but it seems Torres wants to hide his pretty girlfriend from us,” Sam said.
“Don’t flirt with her,” Joaquin snapped. You giggled. You released Joaquin’s hand to extend it to Bucky and then Sam.
“It’s nice to meet you guys too. I have heard about you before,” you said with a smile.
“Yeah? What does Torres say about us?” Sam asked.
“That you’re good people and he’s proud to work with you,” you said. Sam smiled. Bucky’s expression remained stoic.
“We have to get going,” Bucky said, breaking up the moment. Joaquin nodded.
“I’ll go get dressed,” he said, kissing the crown of your head as he turned towards his bedroom. You stood in Joaquin’s kitchen while two Avengers stared back at you.
“Do you guys want some coffee?” You asked, trying to fill the awkward silence.
“That’s alright, ma’am,” Bucky replied.
“Call me y/n, please,” you said.
“How long have you and Torres been together?” Sam asked.
“Eight months,” you answered.
“I can’t believe he didn’t tell us about you for that long,” Sam said.
“He wanted to protect me,” you told him. “And I expect you to protect him,” you added. Bucky smirked at your aggressive nature. Sam smiled as well. He remembered the way his sister had threatened his wingman into keeping him safe the first time she met the man.
“We will, don’t worry,” Sam replied. Joaquin appeared from his bedroom decked out in the suit the Wakandans had made for him. Bucky and Sam looked away as Joaquin leaned down over you and kissed you lovingly, cupping your face in his hand.
“I’ll be back for dinner tomorrow. Promise,” he said. You gave him a cheeky smile.
“If you aren’t, you won’t get your ‘welcome home’ present,” you teased. Joaquin blushed and his eyes flitted to Sam and Bucky.
“I think I’ll be able to persuade you if I’m late, mi amor,” Joaquin replied with a smirk.
“Torres, we don’t have time for you to seduce your girlfriend, we have to go,” Bucky interjected.
“I’m not seducing her!” Joaquin snapped.
“Well, whatever you’re doing, we don’t want to see anymore of it,” Bucky replied. Joaquin rolled his eyes as Bucky and Sam headed for the door.
Joaquin looked back at you and gave you another quick kiss before backing towards the door.
“Be safe,” you called to him. “I love you.” Joaquin smiled, refusing to take his eyes off you.
“I love you too, mi amor,” he replied before shutting the door behind him.
“So, when were you gonna tell us about your hot girlfriend?” Bucky asked. Joaquin frowned at Bucky’s words.
“I was gonna wait till your funeral, which might be sooner if either of you ever flirt with her again.”

Tumblr media
Joaquin finally had a day off after being on so many missions. You wanted to surprise him by baking some of his favorite treats, chocolate chip cookies and cupcakes. He had come home in the early morning, looking exhausted and you turned him to the bedroom telling him to get some sleep which he reluctantly did after seeing how determined you were to see him rest.
A little after midday Joaquin woke up to the smell of freshly baked cookies, leading him to the kitchen where you stood with the cute Valentine’s apron you donned most days, placing the fresh batch onto the counter to cool. The kitchen was getting warm from the oven being used, it felt amazing compared to the cold weather that was slowly seeping into the house.
Once you caught your sleepy eyed lover inhaling over half of the still cooling batch you smacked his hands away with a grin, persuading him to help you with the cupcakes. Batter already done, he helped you pour it into an even amounts in the liners. The only thing left was to make the frosting and that was going well until you gave him full control of mixing.
“Don’t you dare. Don’t you even think about throwing that at me!” you shrieked, running away from where he had a spoonful of frosting readily aimed at you. He chased after you with his own laughter bouncing off the walls of the small kitchen, circling you around the island before firing at you, hitting your cheek as you retreated back, almost fully out of the way.
“There, I think that’s more fitting for your sweet personality, my love.”
You stood with a glint in your eyes as you came up with an excellent idea.
“I hope you're prepared for the aftermath that’s to come. Would be a shame if-” inching closer to the island counter, keeping eye contact with him, a smirk on his face as he took you in. You grabbed some flour and immediately threw it at him, “This was to happen!”
He stood there for a moment, taking in what just happened, dusting flour off his face. “Oh, you’re in for it now. Get back here!”
An all out war occurred, flour, powdered sugar, and frosting going everywhere as you giggled, followed by his laughter whenever your shots were blocked. All prior activities long forgotten in favor of the sweet, carefree and joyful moment.
Joaquin catches you, pulling you into his chest, swaying you both in his embrace. He hums, nose nudging your cheek, “Thank you for the treats, and the forced nap. I really needed this after the exhausting few weeks I’ve had.”
“Of course, I’m glad I was able to alleviate some of the tension for you. But remember, these are supposed to last you for the next two days so don’t eat them all in one sitting, you glutton.”
You turn back to the oven once the alarm goes off, not wanting them to burn. Glancing back at him you see him looking at you with a loving smile, feeling your cheeks heat up and you shy away moving back to the task at hand.

coffee run
joaquín torres x gn!reader (fluff)
summary: joaquín tries to get you a couple extra hours of sleep.
a/n: obviouslyyyyyy somewhat inspired by danny's new movie (look both ways) where he's a dad :) pls excuse the gif, reader is NOT written to be white, he's just so soft in this scene it literally made me cry ⬇️⬇️
Tumblr media
joaquín did his best. switching off your alarm, soothing the fussy baby, and padding around in his socks until the very last second. and yet, your circadian rhythm brings you out of your slumber.
at another time in your life, you might’ve been pissed to wake up at 7am, but nowadays it feels like a luxury.
across the room, he’s fiddling with the baby wrap, a stretchy and twisting piece of fabric which had taken you almost twenty minutes to figure out together the first time. now an experienced pro, joaquín fiddles with her legs to make sure she’s warm and snug against his chest.
your heart aches, watching him pull a mini knitted hat over her ears, sling the baby bag onto his shoulder, and shush her—he’s really trying to be slick. “good morning.”
joaquín turns toward you with wide eyes but relaxes when he sees your smile. “does it look right?” he whispers, adjusting the wide band of fabric around his waist.
“why are you, like…” you pat the empty side of your bed, urging him closer. “lowkey so sexy right now?”
“it’s the sleep deprivation,” he insists, kneeling by the edge. you scooch over to pat your baby’s cute round butt, then tug at one of her dad’s curls.
“i do like your messy hair.” and his gravelly voice in the morning.
“your sleep deprivation,” joaquín clarifies with a laugh. “clouding your judgment.”
maybe, but you definitely want him. and you want him to stay, just a little longer, 'cause everything's finally quiet and perfect.
“can you make it so she’s like this forever?” even as your baby falls asleep against his chest, she sticks out her arms, so you offer a pinky for her to grasp onto. “all chunky, and little, and sweet…”
“and poopy, and whiny,” he continues flatly. in the darkness, a soft kiss lands on your knuckles. “go back to bed, cariño.” joaquín frees you from her tiny grip. “when you wake up, we’ll be back with coffee.”
you press your face to the pillow. “and pan dulce?”
he chuckles before slipping out the door. “y pan dulce.”

ABORTION: the request i got that featured this topic back in 2020 will forever trigger me.
ABUSE: if it's the character inflicting pain on the reader, no. talking about it for closure or for a better understanding of the person is okay. (mental, physical or emotional)
CHEATING: character doing it to reader or reader doing it to character is a no.
CONSENSUAL NON CONSENSUAL: i know it helps people with their trauma, but it doesn't help me. im sorry
DARK FICS/YANDERE: it makes me uncomfortable
HYBRID: I don’t know, man. i just can’t do it.
INCEST: nothing against people who write it, it just makes me uncomfortable
OMEGAVERSE: i don’t understand it to write about it.
RAPE/SEXUAL ASSAULT: mentions are fine, but description? no.

WHAT I DO WRITE FOR:
now, i started with triggers first because people apparently ignored them & still requested things that were a big no, but here's what i do write!
ALTERNATE UNIVERSE (AU)/FORBIDDEN RELATIOSHIPS: soulmates, professor/student, any idea that comes to mind, send them in :)
ANY GENDER/SEXUAL ORIENTATION: feel free to send requests with readers that are not strictly female :)
BODY MARKS: stretch marks, moles, freckles, beauty marks, birthmarks!
FAKE RELATIONSHIP: im a sucker for this trope
GLASSES: i feel like there isn't enough fics for us who wear them. reader does NOT have to be a nerd. im not a nerd, but i need them.
HEADCANON: they honestly get my gears grinding for writing
READER BEING A POC: yes please! :)
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, FEEL FREE TO ASK! :D

The Young Avengers 🦅 | Marvel Headcanon
Takes place during Phase 4 of the MCU
Link to my marvel Masterlist
Requested 📨 yes/no
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Being a young former Black Widow and forming a team with Shuri, Kate, Elijah, Joaquin, and Kid Loki would look like:
To be honest you weren’t to fazed with the idea of forming a team with the younger crowd of up and coming superheroes. Sure you had been friends with Shuri since 2018 and met the others through Sam, Clint, and Thor, but the idea of creating a team like the Avengers never crossed your mind until Shuri proposed the idea. “Ain’t that Val lady forming her own team? Or Secretary Ross is, they’re calling them the Thunderbolts? Yelena was telling me about it—anyway, point is if there’s already a new team of heroes then why make our own?” “Calling them heroes is a little…far fetched if we’re being honest. They are more like the Dark Avengers—and no I was not trying to make a joke. You look at who she’s recruiting and it’s literally that. Think of us as their antithesis.”
It didn’t take much convincing after that with you literally going, “Fuck it. Let’s do it—might actually give me shit to do now that the world has gone to shit trying to get back to the way it was.” Within the hour you were pulling up to a hangar to meet the others. They all looked excited except Kid Loki. He looked rather annoyed being there—really it was Thor’s idea to have him join to keep him out of trouble. “It was either this or join him in his adventures across space. Frankly I’d rather stay in one place after escaping the Void.”
Considering you all are some of the most powerful and intelligent kids on the planet, there is bound to be some restrictions. Likely y’all would be staying at Avengers compound or create your own base camp but there would still be oversight. If Fury is not dealing with the Kree then he and Maria are who y’all report to. Other than them, the veteran Avengers tend to look after you guys—like Sam and Clint. “So since you’re now Captain America and you’re technically retired, does that make Torres the Falcon and Bishop Hawkeye?” “If that’s what they want to go by. You’re still called Black Widow aren’t ya?” “Touché”
So there you have it. Shuri: The Black Panther, Joaquin: the Flacon, You: the Black Widow, Kate: Hawkeye, Kid Loki, & Elijah: The Patriot.
As expected you’re a rambunctious group of heroes. Sometimes y’all find yourselves in trouble when you weren’t planning on it. Trouble just finds you guys 90% of the time. Agent Everett Ross has a whole supply of advil because keeping track of you all gives him a headache. “You’re job was to get it, get the intel, and get the hell out of there. What went wrong?” “Well…….as you can see um….yeah I have no explanation. Shuri you got anything?” “Nope. Torres, you?” “I can’t even remember what we were doing there.”
One time on a mission you guys actually ran into the Thunderbolts and it was quite the scene. First of all you and Yelena were like, “Hey sis! What are you doing here?” Meanwhile Bucky was scolding Elijah & Torres and Walker was getting annoyed with Kid Loki’s tricks. Kate just looked out of place while Shuri was trying to calm everyone down, “It seems there has been a misunderstanding. Unless….it was the plan for all of us to be here.” “What are you saying, Shuri?” “I believe our teams were set up, white wolf. Why else would both of us be called to the same place, for the same exact thing, on the same day?”
Having a genius like Shuri on your team meant you guys were equipped with some of the best technological advances than anyone else. Even the Thunderbolts were envious of y’all’s artillery. Not only did Joaquin get an upgrade on his falcon wings, but Kate got high tech trick arrows, Elijah a vibranium shield, kid Loki with a scepter and you got some additions to your Widow’s bite and suit. “Shit, I feel like I could take down even Thanos with these.” “Try not to show them off to much, Widow. Secretary Ross is still trying to get me to develop stuff for the Thunderbolts and i’ve given him the impression I’m not even advancing our weaponry. So..keep it on the down low.”
After some time as a team, you guys would recruit Kamala Khan, RiRi Williams and Cassie Lang as y’all’s Ms. Marvel, IronHeart & Stinger. Peter Parker would eventually join, bringing in his buddy Ned and America Chavez who were Masters of The Mystic Arts. The team grew so large y’all could actually split you guys up when multiple missions came in. With their initiation, Dr. Strange, Captain Marvel, and Scott Lang joined Sam, Clint, Fury, Ross, and Hill as ‘chaperones’.
“So what do we call ourselves?” “The Young Avengers.” “Isn’t that a derivative?” “Yeah, but it sounds less menacing than Dark Avengers or the Thunderbolts. I mean we are Avengers…just we’re young so it fits.” “True…”

I love you sm Queen Selene 😘🫶🏽
For the sleepover: lingerie & accidental stimulation + photoshoot w/ mi amor Joaquin Torres 🩷
pairing: photographer! joaquin torres x female model reader
words: 500
a/n: thank you so much for your ask baby, love you very much! <3
Tumblr media
"One more!"
The photographer shouts and you pose a final time before changing for the rest of the shoot. He is a young man, definitely around 30 and his black curls hang so beautifully loosely on his face pointing to a beautiful profile of a man. You hadn't met him before but he was incredibly talented and polite.
The assistant ushers you to the back, showing you the various lingerie you were now to be photographed in. You run your fingers through the beautiful different fabrics and allow the assistant to dress you. One moment later you are back at the station, the photographer giving you a smile.
"You look beautiful."
You politely thank him and begin to pose. 10 pictures later and it's time for you to change again, quick back and forth and back again. This happened a couple of times as per usual, the setting behind you changing. As you were now headed to the more sexy lingerie, a velvet couch was brought on the set.
It was too much the color of the main lingerie, a rich emerald green color that looked fantastic on you. You begin to sit on the couch, posing as seductively as possible per the magazine's instructions, the photographer following you closely.
You threw your head back exposing your neck running your hands down your body as he was on his knees on the couch taking closeups of your upper body. Your right leg slightly started brushing against his crotch, only for you to realize one thing.
Naughty as you are you decide to let out a very small almost inaudible to the rest of the crew moan and move your body forward, him following right after your movements. You sat on the couch and opened your legs wide before crossing them again, looking right at him and the camera.
Your eyes followed his body wanting to see the effect you had on him and to your pleasure, his jeans held a package there obscured a little by his loose white t-shirt. The assistant proclaimed that they must have a good content but the photographer snapped a few more pictures.
When he moved the camera away from his face and started walking, and then he realized just how hard he really was, he turned around, setting the camera down to head to the bathroom, but you lightly tapped him on the shoulder.
"Need some help with that?"
You winked at him, your voice hot in his ear.
"Gonna need more than a little help."
You smirk, you're gonna help him very much.

Pairings - Joaquín Torres x Reader
Premise - A movie night turned into something you won't forget.
Words - 500
Spoiler warning for the movie 'Call Me By Your Name'
Tumblr media
You won’t say it was a talent, but you predicted what would happen next while watching a movie. It started as a fun pastime with your father when you were young. And right now, snuggling next to Joaquin on the sofa you were having a movie night, watching ‘Call Me By You Name’
During the climax, you wait as Elio spends Hanukkah with his parents alone, and the phone rings. You hold your breath, perking up slightly as he looks at it.
Your brain goes into overdrive, and you hold your breath as it concludes that it’s Oliver on the other side and that they are breaking up.
Joaquin’s hand slid over your waist, and he held you close as you sat up against his chest.
And your vision blurs as you watch him calling out to Oliver by his name.
“Elio, Elio, Elio, Elio, Elio, Elio.”
There is a pause, and on the other side, he sighs.
“Oliver.”
He says it once, and you sniffle, dreading what’s coming next. The minute he confesses that he’s engaged to a woman and is about to marry, you break down.
You weep throughout the scene until Elio sits down at the fireplace and his mother calls out to him, softly.
But as the credits roll while Timothée Chalamet stares into the camera with tears, you hear a sniffle from behind you.
You freeze and slowly look behind you and straight at Joaquin, whose big brown eyes are overflowing with tears and he grimaced at the laptop placed in front of you.
“babe?” you sniffle, calling him.
“Yeah?” he sniffles, exhaling loudly.
Your voice breaks as you ask him, “Are you crying?”
He locks his eyes on your face and he stares at you innately with a tear rolling down his face.
“No.” He deadpans.
Watching him cry breaks your heart. "It's just a movie. Joaco, why are you crying..." You hiccup, wiping your tears away.
“Because you are crying!” He sobs. “Please don’t cry.” His face contracts, and he wipes his tears silently.
Your big hug engulfs him as soon as you hear that. His racing heartbeat calms down as you hold him tightly, feeling a warm sensation growing inside your chest.
When you wake up, you realize that the two of you fell asleep on the sofa, and it's early morning at the moment. Half-sleeping, you detangle yourself from Joaquin’s arms and look at him as he sleeps soundly. He looked at peace, a faint smile lingering on his lips. You gently kiss his forehead and tuck a stray strand of his long curls behind his ears.
You tuck yourself under the blanket beside him and drift off to sleep, the sound of his steady breathing lulling you to sleep.
---/---/---//---/---/---
A/N - Thank you, everyone, for sticking with me till the end of this fic! if you liked it please let me know through the asks and the comments. Any and all requests, headcanons, and drabble requests are welcome. Love y'all, Take Care!
Requests are open! Feel free to request anything.

A shared bond
Joaquin Torres x Reader
Plot: The festive season is around the corner and you’re determined to give your best customer an unforgettable Christmas.
Genre: PG-13 / Trope: Baking, Alone on the holidays
A/N: Another piece for @the-slumberparty🫶🏽 I hope I did this right but it was another challenge that pushed my writing cells and create a piece that is close to home. Thank you for letting me share my work and hope readers enjoy! Reblogs and comments are appreciated!💜
Tumblr media
The alarm beeps, signaling the newest batch of baked goods. Satisfied with the smell of blueberry pie wafting through the kitchen, you leave the delicacy to cool down. You go back out to the counter, pleasantly surprised to see your usual customer already waiting at the door.
“Hello Joaquin! You’re early today.” You let him in. “The usual?”
“Yes please.” He takes a seat at the counter, nose wrinkling to detect the source of smell. “I see you have been cooking up a new recipe. Any chance I could get a taste?”
You sliced a blueberry pie onto a plate and serve it to him with a cup of coffee. “Lucky you, I was trying out something for the Christmas menu and you just happened to be my first customer!”
Joaquin takes a fork and sinks his teeth into the pie, groaning at the impeccable fruity taste that blended nicely with the crumbs. “This shouldn’t be just a seasonal menu.”
“Glad to know. Guess I had enough foresight to make a whole batch of them. Would you like one more?” You carried the tray out and for a moment you thought you saw Joaquin salivating.
“Does it mean I have to pay?”
“Well, this one’s on the house. I insist. In the spirit of Christmas.” You give a second serving to Joaquin before preparing for the morning crowd.
It was like a routine that the both of you were used to. While you attended to customers, Joaquin would busy himself with a book at the side along with his drink and your baked treats. As you helped a father and his young son with their purchase, you can’t help but to sneak a glance at Joaquin who had an unreadable expression. The bell chimes, signaling the pair’s exit.
“What’s on your mind?”
Joaquin sighs. “When I see families, I think about the ones that I’ve lost.” You pause what you were doing, giving him your full attention. “It’s hard when I think about them but it especially hurts during festive seasons. I guess that’s what happens when you’re alone.” Joaquin smiles wanly. “I’m sorry for being such a dampener.”
You frown and shake your head. From your many conversations with Joaquin, you knew he was from military and he had a story that was beyond reality. You don’t know how he does it but he comes to your cafe with a smile every single time. “Don’t say that. You’re the strongest person I know, Joaquin.”
He takes a shaky breath and nods, but you sense that he’s going further down the hole.
“What if I told you that you don’t have to be alone during Christmas?”
Joaquin stares at you curiously and you’re more than positive that this would work out perfectly.
***
“Goodbye Mrs Lelia!” You moved towards the door, the elderly women trailing behind you.
“Thank you for visiting my dear.” She kisses you on the cheek and does the same for Joaquin. “Come back again soon with those lovely goodies!”
“Will do Mrs Lelia. Happy holidays!” You carefully descend the snow covered steps, checking one more house off the list. Joaquin decides to break the silence first.
“I didn’t know you do this during Christmas.”
“I started not too long ago. Two years back.” You helpfully corrected him. “I wasn’t in a good place.” Joaquin stares at you intently.
“You know how you told me once that when you came back from your tour? There was always people around you and yet you still felt lonely?”
Joaquin nods at the memory. You purse your lips.
“I felt that too. In a different way of course.” You explained. “Being blipped right back and having to see constant doom scrolling and watching others flaunt their extravagant lifestyles while holding to the knowledge that I could be someone better… it ate me up inside. So I decided to kickstart this food drive. I can’t reach everybody but I can do enough.”
Joaquin falls silent at your simple but impactful admission. “We’re all fighting our own battles huh?”
“That’s all we can do.” You respond. “What better way than to help others in the name of Christmas?” You grin, holding up the bag of baked treats. “Come on, we can do this! Dinner’s on me.”
***
An hour later, you sit beside Joaquin at a Thai restaurant savoring on the much needed spicy Tom Yum soup.
“I can’t express how much it means to have you help me this year. It seems to me like the ladies love you.” You teased.
“If that means having this feast after every food drive, count me in.” Joaquin laughs, taking a bite of the lemon chicken. “But really, I should be the one that’s thanking you. You’ve helped me a lot.”
You suddenly have a warm rush of affection for the man who was a mere stranger eight months ago. Joaquin seems to have noticed the change in temperature as he’s unusually focused at the half eaten chicken on his plate.
“After the blip, it was hard to even talk to someone. And I mean, genuinely have a conversation. That is until I met you.” Joaquin looks at you under his curls. “You didn’t push me and you allowed me to take my time.”
Your heart beats faster and you can feel yourself attempting to control your breathing. A determined glint crosses Joaquin’s eyes and he steadily moves forward.
“I really like you, Y/N. Not because you took pity on me but you saw me as a person. I don’t know if you feel the same way but I-”
Before he can finish his sentence, you launch yourself onto Joaquin, giving him the biggest bear hug that you could. He freezes for a moment at the contact, but he doesn’t hesitate to lean into your embrace.
“I really like you too, Joaquin.” You whispered, slowly detaching yourself to look at him. “And trust me when I say this but you came into my life when I needed someone. So I don’t want you to ever doubt yourself. Not anymore. Not when I’m with you.”
Joaquin pauses, processing what you have just said and breaks out into a big grin.
“I don’t know if this is appropriate but I really want o kiss you right now.”
You giggle at his honesty and take out the last blueberry pie that you saved for desert. Carefully taking a bite, you purposely stained your lips with blueberry coating.
“There. Now you can wipe it off me.” You cheekily point at the creation on your lips. It’s Joaquin’s turn to laugh at your absurdity as he looks at you lovingly.
The snow starts to fall harder and the Christmas decorations shine brighter. Reunions bring along joy and happiness across the city and for today, people forget what the world has thrown at them as they laugh with their loved ones. You and Joaquin Torres were not an exception as the bond between the two of you only strengthened with the help of a Christmas miracle.
He is gentle, leaving your lips wanting more. Joaquin gazes at you and how you wished you drank a little less of the wine. The crowd thickens but it is only the two of you in the small and tiny space that you envision. You see his lips moving and you tilt your head in confusion. Joaquin moves closer and you hear it.
“Merry Christmas, Y/N.”
He leans in again, and this time he is sure to leave you breathless.
