Thoughts on The End of Evangelion (from someone who had never seen the tv show and after watching a video essay about how the movie is a hate letter to uber fanboys):
Boy, this movie sure expects you to have seen the tv series because they explain nothing.
So much vaginal imagery and somethings just straight up vaginas in foreheads getting stabbed.
Watching a grown woman kiss a 14-year-old boy for 20 seconds sure was fun and not super gross. (Mr. Geeky and I discussed afterwards if it was supposed to be seen as a gross thing and we're both leaning toward, yes, it was.)
For the first part of the movie I was like "oh yeah, this is definitely a hate letter to fanboys'", then the second part I was like "hmmm, maybe not", and the then the last part I was like "holy fuck, yeah, this dude hated the uber fanboys, especially the way they treated the girls and women in this show".
I missed out on basically all the plot (since I knew almost nothing about the terms and such) but it was a very visually interesting movie so I think it was well worth watching on the big screen. I wish there were more mech fights, though, cause they only had one and it was *really* good.
This show was really quite mean to Shinji, fanboy stand-in, and I'm all here for it.
Going back to the movie's commentary on fanboys' treatment of the girls/women in the show: This movie has a *lot* of female nudity (almost all of them 14-year-old girls) but none of it really felt gratuitous to me, which I found really shocking. The nudity always felt like it served a purpose or a statement about the treatment of girls/women by fanboys. (This is extra fascinating as Mr. Geeky tells me the show could be very fanservicy.)
There's an entire scene where Shinji is basically hallucinating all the girls/women telling him he's just a fucking awful human being and it was amazing.
"But maybe you're seeing too much into the girls/women aspect." The literal first scene of the movie is Shinji masturbating over Asuka's comatose body. The literal last scene of the movie is him straddling Asuka and choking her and, after stopping, collapsing on her chest and begging her to help him. Like, the movie is not subtle about showing that Shinji is shitty to girls/women.
Overall both Mr. Geeky and I agree with Dan Olsen and the theory that this movie is basically a hate letter to uber fanboys. That's not all it is, but that's very much a huge part of what it is.

oscars 2022 (book ver.)
there were a lot of books i read this year, a majority of them ones i really enjoyed. even so, it wasn’t that difficult to put together my top ten favorite reads, but i felt very uncomfortable with not getting to talk about books outside that range that still affected me a great deal. so!! this list helps me with that!!
a booktuber (@/Tori Morrow; highly recommend watching their videos, especially if you’re a big fan of sci-fi/fantasy since that’s majorly what they read and talk about) introduced me to this end-of-year activity where i could talk about these books that still stood out to me, even if they didn’t make it to the top 10. i think having trouble wrangling a certain # of stories into a list when you’ve read up to 135 is pretty valid but yeah!!
let the 2022 oscars (book ver.) commence!!
warning: this post is really long :’)
best supporting actress:
- martha wolf from “self-made boys” by anna-marie mclemore
“People always find something wrong with how much or how little women are doing,” Martha said. “We don’t do as much as they think we should, we’re boring or frigid. If we do more than they think we should, we’re easy or fast. There’s no winning. So I kiss exactly as many or as few girls as i want.”
aka my gay awakening. while she’s not the most major side character in this great gatsby retelling, she still has her lines, and she still has a big effect on the story that jumps the gun at times. as sparse as her scenes were with nicolás and gatsby, when she did show up, she always threw me for a loop because i was crushing on her hard lol (still am). also her voice added to the overall message of the novel set during a time where living loud & lavish was the big move but if you were too loud or too honest, you were a pariah. all the rules & expectations are so muddled in their idiocy that even gatsby complains about it, and he’s the one who appears to live the most lavishly of them all!!
but yeah, martha’s character really stood out to me, and the conversations she had with nicolás specifically were phenomenal so i don’t care if she’s seen as more minor compared to daisy or jordan, she’s my supporting character.
best supporting actor:
- alim from “you made a fool of death with your beauty” by akwaeki emezi
“Imagine that, Feyi. We’re alive, and I love you.”
alim will forever go down in literary history as one of the best romantic heroes to date, and it’s all just in how sincere and beautiful his presence in this story is. the moment feyi first lays her eyes on him, there’s this immediate attraction, which just stirs up a lot of trouble and believe me, there is a big storm coming for sure. but alim’s presence in this story is like a steady hand through those rocky waves and he doesn’t just make feyi feel that rush of feeling alive, he makes her feel comfortable in just getting to be in the quiet of the storm, because she knows he’ll always be right there with her if she lets him.
the connection that he & feyi have together when it came to both of them experiencing grief over a lost partner is incredibly profound, and i just loved so much how in a story that was solely in feyi’s pov, we still got to learn so much about alim and see so much of him. the way his love language isn’t just cooking the most heavenly meals, but through his incredible way with words, and how natural and peaceful it feels having him by your side, he’s such a force to be reckoned with.
i wish i could see more of him & feyi, and i wish their romance could’ve gotten the attention it deserved by making it to the finals in the 2022 goodreads choice awards. it was a big big snub to me, but hopefully to heal some of the wounds, their story being mentioned on my part here gives some attention.
best cinematography:
- “city of speed” by alex london
Drakopolis was like one of those dolls that you opened to find a smaller doll inside, and then a smaller doll inside that one, and on and on. You could live your whole life in the city and still discover strange and terrifying new things inside it every day. It was unsettling, Abel thought, but also a little exciting. It was hard to be bored in Drakopolis.
my reading journey with the battle dragons series is one that feels so epic, and yet it also feels so lonely, because no one ever really talks about this middle grade series, and that breaks my heart.
this cyperpunk fantasy with racing dragons and powerful gangs and such immersive storytelling isn’t on a lot of people’s radar and that feels so wrong to me.
one of the best things about it, and especially with this second book here, is how vivid this world feels, how bright & gritty & expansive it is. this story only takes place in this single city called Drakopolis, but it has such a wide impact that it feels like you’re seeing so much of what the author has to offer. the underground races that are considered illegal, the glittering signs of the city and the black markets that sell a vast range of items—all of it so descriptive in this book here that i could see it so clearly in my head, and i loved it a lot.
i loved how cinematic the story felt, and so sweet, and so for that, that’s why i feel it best deserves the winning praise for this category here. hopefully in the future, more readers can see that as well.
best original screenplay:
- “dark room etiquette” by robin roe
If he’s alive, I’ll read his thoughts. If he’s dead, I’ll summon his ghost. Tell me, Daniel, what present do you want?
The big one.
this category speaks to a story that was crafted in a way that makes it stand out, its structure manipulated so as to mimic the story itself. for this book, the start of it felt so monotonous and as if the main character was living in a bubble that was fit to burst. it felt very reminscent of jake from “the taking of jake livingston” by ryan douglass, which garnered some mixed reviews because of how flat the main character read at the beginning. both ya, one horror & one thriller—what both roe & douglass did with these stories was they wrote their characters like that on purpose so that when the tone of the story did shift, when the characters were forced to react to what was happening to them and to those around them, you as the reader were confronted with their break in reality.
it was astonishing to witness how the authors crafted these characters’ surroundings as a nod to how it may have felt for both of them living in a society that acts so completely fake at times and demands conformity but then when there’s a shift, it’s as if the walls fall all around them.
“dark room etiquette” was such a phenomenal read that deserves so much more praise for its writing and the character work as we observe the three different stages of sader’s life that changes him fundamentally. the way he molds itself when the situation calls for it and is left misshapen because he doesn’t have any real sense of his own identity was just…something else, and it made the last quarter of the book so meaningful once he learned how to try & fit back inside himself. but first, he has to reckon with all the trauma he’s endured as other characters and their traumas are also given a spotlight.
best new author (debut or new to me):
- freydís moon
“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” - “with a vengeance”
for this category, i’m cheating just a tad because one of this author’s works is present in my top 10, but i think when your new favorite authors from this year all have a place in your top 10 list, it goes to show how much they deserve to be considered for this category. the reason why i chose this one as the winner here is because i feel i don’t talk about this author nearly enough.
moon’s social media presence (freydísmoon on insta, freydis_moon on twitter) means the world to me as i watch them promote their writing and also open my eyes to a new genre of literature where erotica meets a holiness like no other, and their descriptions of worship as their characters reclaim their bodies for themselves completely takes your breath away. i feel an immense sentimentality for the fact that the characters of exodus 20:3 and with a vengeance are latine, and so the representation is even more powerful because the latine community have our own kind of relationships to the Catholic faith and how our identities can be disconnected from family.
each of moon’s books have such different tones but share similar threads that as a reader, is so completely beautiful because it’s such a versatile experience. with with a vengeance being the one with the most anger & violence, it’s amazing seeing moon release three kings a couple months after, a cozy fantasy set in a small seaside town that has its own power with the forces of magic and exploration of fertility. their writing is like complete chaos but it’s a welcome one that i’m so thankful to have found, and i’m really excited for their new release set to come in early february as i know it’ll be absolutely everything.
best ensemble cast:
- the characters of “fragile remedy” by maria ingrande mora
Keep going, Pixel. Keep going.
i have a very soft spot for this small group who are forced to live out in the Withers, a ravaged wasteland left abandoned after an illness swept through society and tore these characters down into drug-ridden spaces as those with much more power built their own utopia.
while the narrative of the story is mainly told through the eyes of nate, his little found family and the other characters he attaches himself to are bigger than life and make their own home in this dystopian society where it’s every life for themselves. the difference though, is that this group stick together, and in this broken society that leaves others high & dry, sticking together in a group is probably the smartest choice so as to not simply fade away.
there’s one character, specifically, in this ensemble, whose relationship with nate i absolutely adore, and it was such a heartbreaking dynamic that is so unconventional but is a product of how broken this society has gotten. alden & nate’s connection is very significant to me, and is one i’ll never forget; it pains me that not more readers know about these characters at all, but i’m just glad for now i discovered this story the way i did, which was completely by chance.
best book i haven’t read yet:
- “the midnight girls” by alicia jaskinska
i love this category because the pressure i feel to read this book is so strong with how quickly i knew it deserves this spot here.
i really really have to read this book soon. i had the perfect opportunity to read this story of monsters back in october for the halloween season, and if not then, then just reading it during the fall would’ve been fine. but no, now we’re in winter where currently the temperatures are below freezing in my area, and i am barely holding on. i’m certain that with zosia’s comfort in the cold and ice of winter, reading this book in january would be another good opportunity.
whenever i do read this story, i know it’ll be so fun, and so interesting as well because the writing i could already tell is beautiful as hell, and it’s so wicked these characters. i can already feel the anticipation for something guaranteed to be five stars by how good its premise is, so i just need to hop on quick.
best director:
- ryan la sala for “the honeys”
what i like about this category is that “best director” isn’t simply dedicated to an author who had the best writing or whatever. there were a lot of authors i met this year whose stories went in all different directions that took me to some extreme highs & lows, it was mind-numbing as hell. but what this category is really spoken for is when it comes to a certain type of writer who just really took the story to a whole new level that left you completely boggled.
originally, this category felt best directed towards tal bauer with “stars”, whose direction of the story was books in the making and because of that, it felt so much more epic than ever. but since i wanted to exclusively highlight some books that weren’t included in my top 10 favorite reads list, ryan la sala’s debut horror novel was the best contender for this position.
the writing in this ya is so surreal and deadly in its descriptions of an atmospheric setting glowing with light but that is rooted in strange visions and manipulative strings. it’s a compliment i don’t shut up about and never will because the fact that it was so surreal made the direction it went towards in its ending absolutely bonkers, and i still can’t quite wrap my head around it after the two months i’ve read it since.
what i can say is that i very much look forward to more of what this author has planned next in their writing career because it’s clear they have their own visions that on paper will blow readers’ minds, and i’m totally here for it.
best actress:
- mina rahman from “a show for two” by tashie bhuiyan (runner up: cherry neita from “the princess trap” by talia hibbert)
I wish for happiness in whatever form it might be.
tashie bhuiyan has quickly solidified herself to be one of my utmost favorite ya authors because of how much i absolutely adore her main characters. with only two books under her belt, bhuiyan has swept me away with not just some of the sweetest ya romances i’ve ever read, but also some of the most wonderful & hard-hitting narrators that i’ve met. karina from counting down with you meant so much to me when i was reading her story last year in 2021, and now this year i got to read mina’s, and it made me cry just as much as i did last year, if not a little more.
karina’s story filled me with a lot of anxiety because of how much pressure was building on her shoulders due to her desperate need to please her parents who have such high & unattainable expectations for her—and i say unattainable because it means it would cut away at karina’s happiness, and she would have to lose parts of herself in order to make them happy. for mina, she’s much more defiant with her parents, much more poised when it came to holding her head up high against her parents’ disgust of her attitude and just her presence in general. her defiance isn’t one that stems from acting like your usual stubborn & rebellious teenager, but rather one who’s had to grow up way too fast on her own and has had to fight to get what she wants no matter what. her parents have shamed her so much for her dreams and have tried to make her feel stupid for wanting to make it big in film and believing that she does have that chance. to see such a strong character try to beat back against those low expectations but then have moments where they still get so tired, it was incredibly difficult.
i think one of the hardest things about tashie bhuiyan’s stories up to this point is the very very toxic relationship that the main characters have with their parents. the pure shame & disappointment these adult figures hassle on their eldest daughters, even if it’s portrayed in different ways, it is such a heavy & emotional experience to read about. i’ve been made aware how it’s this portrayal that mixes up a lot of readers because of the stigma that it reinforces of how Muslim families interact. i can’t speak on the Muslim representation, i just really connected a lot to karina & mina, and i wished so much for their happiness because i believed so much in them as other characters believed in them, too—what was most important was seeing them get to believe in themselves and their aspirations, and it was a hard journey to get there. i feel very very protective of these characters, and this is one of those instances where i won’t stand for any backlash against them, especially mina, because i’m of the strong belief that they deserve none of it, and that is that on that.
the reason why i added cherry here from the princess trap as like the “runner up” is because she was just such a fun & sweet character that is partly what made my first talia hibbert book such a memorable experience. the way that she’s so confident in herself and her style is what draws the eye of other characters, especially ruben, and i was absolutely obsessed with how obsessed they were with her because she really is that character. her presence in the story was so mystifying but she wasn’t some mirage, this was all her, she was real & she was stunning as hell. she’s very relatable and she’s one of those fictional characters i wish i could have in my life because her voice was absolutely everything, and she’s someone i could genuinely look up to.
it was very important to me to include her in this category because of that.
best actor:
- amastan from “the perfect assassin” by k.a. doore (runner up: reid giordano from “fire season” by k.d. casey)
I choose to believe that your strong sense of justice will prevail among your kind and that you will emerge as their natural leader, even if I cannot believe in what you do.
the funny thing with this one is that at first, reid was immediately my first choice because he was everything!! he was such a brilliant main character who went through such a tough and honest character journey that was so well-developed and he’s still growing!!
but then i thought about amastan from the chronicles of ghadid series, and how my immense love for his voice in the story was enough for me to rate the first book a little higher than i would’ve if he wasn’t the main character. and you want to know something that still blows my mind?? amastan apparently didn’t even exist as a main character in the original draft of this series!!
so yeah, he’s someone that’s stuck with me a lot: and it’s partly because of how he was our first glimpse into this family of cousins who assassinate their targets for the better of their city. i loved his love for history & the way he challenges the idea of what a good assassin is supposed to emulate, and his character in general just hit a sweet spot in my brain that has now had me latch myself to him, and to this world he lives in that made my entire chronicles of ghadid experience such an immersive read.
he has his morals and he wants to believe in the better of others, but he’s still really strict when it comes to crossing that line, and that makes him an absolutely wonderful mentor, as we see in book two. i was really happy to see his pov again in the final book, even if it was pretty brief, but he still had a larger than life role in my heart and in this series. i am very thrilled that it took a random bookstagram post to have given me the opportunity to meet him in the first place.

.
and that is a wrap!!

Pairing: Takuma Ino x f!reader
Rating: Explicit – MINORS DO NOT INTERACT
Word Count: ~1.7k
cw: explicit language, mentions of a popular horror movie, smut – PIV sex (cowgirl position), nipple play, blow job, mask kink, slight degradation (slut, whore), use of pet names (cutie, sweetie, baby)
Summary: You and your new boyfriend Ino decide to watch a horror movie together in honor of spooky season. Halfway through, he notices how skittish you are, making him want to play a silly prank on you with his signature ski mask. It’s all fun and games until he realizes that you actually like seeing him in this way more than he anticipated.
Author’s Note: Happy October y'all! What can I say, I am VERY into Takuma Ino right now and I just had to get this out of my system. This is barely edited or proofread, sorry for any grammar mistakes or typos, I really was just letting my fingers fly through this in a moment of passion LOL. Likes, reblogs, and/or comments are always appreciated, thank you for reading! MDNI banner by @/cafekitsune.

You turn off all the lights, the only source of illumination coming from the TV screen, paused at the very start of the movie you decided to watch tonight. With a big bowl of freshly popped kernels in your grasp, you huddle beside your boyfriend, Ino, on the couch, covering both your legs with a fleece blanket. He wraps his arm around you, pulling you in closer, reaching to grab a handful of popcorn to stuff inside his mouth. “Ready?” he muffles, pointing the remote to the screen, finger pressed to the center button.
Nuzzling your head against him, you answer. “Yup!”
It’s apparently one of those cult classic horror flicks according to Ino, who recommended it when you mentioned how you wanted to watch something scary for October. He’s seen it before, many times in fact, but he insists that you watch it. He has no clue how frightened you get over the silliest things, so tonight will be a treat for the both of you.
The opening scene plays out: a beautiful blonde picks up the phone and the conversation ends quickly short because it’s the wrong number. Normal so far, good. It rings again, but now the caller seems interested in talking. Do you like scary movies? Do you have a boyfriend? The man’s voice gives you the creeps, and you find yourself shuddering from it, cuddling closer to Ino, who glances at you with a smirk on his face.
You never told me your name.
Why do you want to know my name?
Because I want to know who I’m looking at.
This line gives you goosebumps and you lift the blankets up to hide behind it. “Ew, creepy!” Ino only laughs, throwing a few more pieces of popcorn into his mouth.
It escalates from here, getting increasingly chaotic and violent. By the time you’re halfway into the film, the bowl is down to its last kernels and you’re crouched in Ino’s lap, peeking through your fingers. He pauses the movie after one particularly brutal kill. “Snack break! I’m going to make some more popcorn and go pee.”
“You’re leaving?!” you whine, clinging on to him as he tries to get up.
He chuckles. “Babe! It’s just a movie. I’ll be right back, okay?” He kisses you on the forehead, heading into the kitchen, leaving you alone in the living room.
Of course it’s just a movie, but you can’t help feeling creeped out in the dark like this. You reach for one of the nightstands, turning on the lamp. You hear the drone of the microwave, and after a minute or so, the distinct sound of popping. Eventually, it comes to a stop, and the entire house is eerily quiet. You’re tempted to call out for Ino, wondering where he is, but you remember that he had to use the bathroom.
Suddenly, a shadowy figure appears right behind on you on the couch, grabbing your shoulders and shouting gibberish at you. You scream bloody murder, ready to punch him and run away when Ino lifts his ski mask up to reveal himself, tears streaming down his face, cracking up at you.
“Ino!” you yell at him, slapping his hands away from you. “You fucking asshole!”
He doubles over, cackling, wiping his eyes. It takes a good while for him to regain his composure as you glare at him, arms crossed over your chest. “I’m sorry, baby. I just couldn’t resist.” He sits beside you, stretching his arms out for a hug. “You have to admit, that was fucking hilarious.”
You shake your head, refusing. “You’re such a dick.”
“Oh, come on! It was just a little prank. Now you’ll be way more prepared for the rest of the movie!” He pulls the mask over his face again, everything covered except the holes for his eyes. “See? Not so scary anymore, right?”
You inspect him carefully, still pouting, not saying a word.
“I’m sorry, sweetie. Truly. I promise not to scare you again.” He scoots towards you, nudging you in the arm.
You roll your eyes at him, relaxing. “Fine.”
“Can I get a kiss now?”
He tries to lift his mask up, but you stop him, pulling it back down. “I don’t want to see your face right now. I’m still annoyed, you know.”
“Aw man! Really?”
You hoist it just past his nose, leaning in to give him a soft kiss on the lips. When you break apart, he smirks at you. “You like this, don’t you? Seeing me with my mask on.”
You shrug, a sly grin on your face, neither confirming nor denying his accusation. Sure, you were a bit upset at first, when he scared the shit out of you. But seeing his face covered like that may have sparked a desire in you that you never knew you had, until now.
“Oh my god! You do, you do!” he exclaims, shaking your arm. “My cutie has a mask kink!”
“Shut up, asshole!” you yell at him, pretending to shove him off, smiling.
“You’re a fucking freak!” he giggles, pouncing on you. He starts tickling you along your ribcage, causing you to squirm beneath him as he straddles you, trapping you between his legs. His fingers flutter under your arms, stroking your sensitive skin.
“Ino!” you cry out, laughing from the sensation.
You can feel his cock growing hard in his pants, balls heavy on your stomach. Suddenly, he stops, mask still folded to expose his lips, leaning down to kiss you sloppily. He pins your hands above your head, locking his fingers with yours. He slips inside your mouth, grazing your tongue with his, hungry for your saliva. “Fuck,” he moans into you, nipping at your bottom lip. “You like this freaky shit, don’t you? Nasty slut.” His playful tone is laden with lust now, low and sultry, mouth brushing along your neck, sucking at your pulse points to mark you.
You whine his name, wrapping your legs around his waist, grinding yourself against him.
“Look at you, getting so fucking dumb all because of my mask,” he purrs. “What else turns you on, cutie? Tell me.”
Without thinking, you blurt out, “Spit. Your spit. I want it.”
“Oh shit,” he swears, licking his mouth. He traces the outline of your lips, beckoning you to open up, dribbling a thick wad of saliva inside you. You gulp it down, sticking your tongue out for more.
“Oh fuck, you’re nasty,” he says, doing it again. “Makes me so fucking horny seeing you like this. Seeing my cutie act like a fucking whore.” He slips beneath your shirt, fondling your bare breasts, flicking your peaked nipples with his thumbs.
“Fuck, Ino,” you whisper, pussy throbbing in your panties, arousal leaking through the fabric.
“You like it when I play with your tits, huh?” Like it when I pinch them hard like this.” He squeezes them between his thumb and index finger, enough pressure to stimulate you, making you moan his name again and again.
He swears under his breath, shoving his pants down his legs, shimmying out of them until he’s only in his underwear now, erection stiff in his boxers. “You gonna suck my cock now or what, slut?”
You nod, kneeling in front of him, knees on the carpet, spreading his thighs apart. He lifts his ass off the couch to slide out of his boxers, letting them fall around his ankles. You kiss the tip of his dick, smearing his precum around your lips like gloss before swallowing him into your mouth.
He lets out a drawn out, “Fuck,” watching you with wide eyes as you bob up and down his shaft. Voice shaky, he asks, “Can I put my hands on you?”
Something about him in this ski mask makes you want to be submissive, makes you want to be used. You grab both his hands, guiding them towards the sides of your head, giving him free rein to manhandle you.
“Holy shit,” he murmurs, gripping you tighter, gradually thrusting his hips in tandem with you. His cockhead hits the back of your throat, teasing your gag reflex, but you resist, tears collecting in the corners of your eyes, enduring it.
Noticing you, he pulls out, a string of spit between you. “Baby, baby. Please don’t force yourself. I don’t want to hurt you.” He reaches to his side, grabbing a tissue from the table beside the couch, wiping away the spit around your mouth and the tears in your eyes. “Come here, cutie. I want to make you feel good too.”
You strip out of your bottoms, straddling his lap, pussy wet and aching against him. He moans as you rock back and forth on his shaft, pressing his thumb to your clit, massaging it. “There we go. Now we both can feel good, yeah?”
After a few more strokes, you beg him to fuck you, lifting up to guide his cock inside you slowly, sinking down on him until he bottoms out. You bounce on him, his hands gripped to your waist, guiding you, moaning your name between expletives.
As you approach your orgasm, you pull up his mask, placing it on his head as he usually wears it. He smiles brightly at you, nuzzling his nose to yours. “There’s my pretty girl. Can you come for me now? Come all over this cock?”
You kiss him passionately, arms wrapped around his neck as he thrusts into you, hands squeezed on your ass now. You reach your climax, moaning into his mouth. He comes with you, shooting his load deep into your womb, filling you up with his cream pie. The two of you continue to kiss slowly, catching your breaths. He caresses your back while you melt into his embrace.
“We need to establish a safe word,” he suggests, cradling you in his arms. “I want to make sure I’m not hurting you.”
You hum into his skin, saying the first thing that comes to mind. “Popcorn."
He chuckles, stroking the back of your neck gently. “Alright. Popcorn it is.” A beat later, he exclaims, “Popcorn! I totally forgot about the popcorn!”
You laugh, giving your boyfriend a wet smooch on the cheek.

u ask for shy!reader here i come holding a request
shy reader who is used to ppl telling them they look better without glasses, only for steve to find out they actually do very much need them, especially to read
so steve finally encourages them to wear them more and make sure to tell them how cute they look with them
hi, angel! thanks for ur request! fellow glasses-wearers rise! (1.4k)
Six months, five days, and twelve hours — that’s how long Steve’s been your boyfriend. Not that he’s counting, of course. It takes him the same amount of time to find out that you wear glasses.
He always knew your vision wasn’t the greatest. You complained about it from time to time — the headaches and the blurriness — but he never thought it was bad because you never made a big deal about it. He figured it was more existential than urgent, the idea that you might need glasses in the future if your eyes ever worsened.
He didn’t know they were already worse.
It’s your first movie night together — “the first of many,” Steve lilted when he sat down on the couch beside you, with a bowl of popcorn in his hand and a kiss on your cheek. He liked the idea of that, of having a tradition with you. He liked knowing that a section of his busy week could be carved out just for the both of you.
And it’s not like you’ve never watched a movie together before. It’s just that usually, there are about five teenagers sandwiched between the two of you, not including Robin and Nancy.
The former always insists on sitting on Steve’s left and only occasionally sharing her popcorn. The latter sits next to you and, halfway through the film, has already managed to convince you to leave with her and do something more fun.
But now, at eight o’clock, tucked tenderly away in your apartment, it’s just the two of you.
And your terrible, terrible eyesight.
A quarter of the way through Beetlejuice, Steve catches you squinting at the television across the room.
You’re all wrapped up in his arms, lying on your sides on the small couch. Steve keeps you pressed against him to stop you from falling off the edge of it. One of his arms curls around your stomach and the other is balled into a fist to prop up his head.
He looks down at you, already smiling, and with a “Be honest, would you fuck Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice?” on the tip of his tongue. It fades when he notices your eyes are halfway closed.
For a second, he thinks you might be falling asleep. He can tell by your scrunched nose and quirked mouth that it’s something else entirely.
His hand squeezes your hip to get your attention. “Babe? You okay?”
“Huh?” you hum as you turn to him. The furrow between your brows dissipates when your eyes open to their fullest again.
“You’re squinting.”
Your mouth falls softly agape, as though in slight surprise.
You hadn’t noticed it, really. You hardly ever do, but it’s been happening a lot more recently.
Just a week ago, Nancy pointed out how closely you held her newspaper to your face while trying to read it. After that, Dustin had been trying to show you a new VHS at Family Video but had to come about ten steps closer for you to see what it was.
“Oh. I didn’t realize…”
“Do you have a headache?” Steve asks, bushy brows pinched in concern. “Do you wanna turn the movie off?”
You shake your head against the pillow. “No. It’s fine.”
“Is it your eyes again? Can you see—”
“Yes, Steve,” you interject, laughing gently. “I can see the screen.”
“What’s the time say, then?”
“I can see,” you argue in a non-answer.
“Humor me.”
You huff. Then squint again.
The red numbers below the TV stand are mush. Your eyes try hopelessly to focus on them. With what you lack in eyesight, you make up for with confidence. “Nine… Thirty-six…” you answer with a nonchalant shrug.
Steve sputters out a laugh that fans against your cheek. He shakes his head in pity. “Babe…”
“What?”
“That’s not even close! It’s eight-fifty-five!” he chuckles with a pink smile and sparkling honey eyes.
You roll your eyes at him in response. He leans down to kiss your cheek when you turn away from him again.
“You gotta make an appointment to get your eyes checked, babe. You can’t just go through life not being able to see anything—”
“I have glasses,” you mumble.
“What? Since when?”
“I don’t know. Since, like, middle school,” you shrug. “I just don’t wear them.”
Steve, halfway offended, gapes at you in response. “…Why didn’t I know about this?”
“’Cause I don’t like wearing them. They make my eyes look funny. I hate it.”
“Where are they?”
“In my bedroom—” you answer absentmindedly, then whine when he starts to get up. “Steve, don’t! I’m comfortable!”
“I’ll be right back,” the boy promises.
He shoves the covers down and climbs over your legs to get off the couch. He presses another kiss to your cheeks before he goes, like he can’t stand the idea of not kissing you every chance he gets.
He finds your glasses in a thin leather case in your desk drawer. They’re simple, rounded things — rimmed with silver and pretty in their minimalism. He rushes them back to you with a boyish excitement fluttering like a butterfly in his chest.
No one’s ever been this thrilled to see someone in a pair of glasses.
He beams at you when he hurries back into the living room.
You’ve already sat up against the back of the couch, not nearly as comfortable without Steve holding you. Your knees are brought up to your chest, the knitted blanket through over them and bunched at your lap. You meet his grin with a childlike scowl.
“Here. Put ‘em on,” he says, motioning the glasses to you.
“No,” you whine, flopping your head back against the couch.
“Don’t be so dramatic,” Steve laughs. “They’re just glasses.”
“I don’t like them!”
“Why?”
“‘Cause they make me look weird!”
“I don’t believe that.”
“Well, ask everyone who’s ever seen me in them,” you retort, halfway pouting. “I got made fun of for, like, six years when I wore them to school. Everyone called me Turtle until I graduated.”
A grin pulls at Steve’s lips. “Turtle?”
You nod shyly, looking at him through your lashes and trying not to smile back. “Yeah. ‘Cause I looked like Toby Turtle from Robin Hood—”
Steve doesn’t mean to laugh. It just sort of comes out. A big, boyish, hearty chuckle sputters from his mouth before he can stop it.
“Don’t laugh!” you scold, giggling alongside him.
“Well, now you have to put them on.”
Steve inches toward you with the glasses in hand. You don’t protest when he slips the sides over your ears and uses the knuckle of his forefinger to push them up the bridge of your nose.
He steps back to admire you with a grin. Your girlish pout has returned to you, but it doesn’t look nearly as intimidating when you’re blinking up at him with unusually large eyes.
He shakes his head down at you. “You’re the cutest damn thing I’ve ever seen, you know that?”
“Don’t lie,” you grouse. “I look like a bug.”
“Correction: the cutest bug.”
He laughs when it makes you glower.
He steps to the side and points to the clock again. “Can you see the time now?”
You look at it, then back to him. “Yeah… ’S Time for you to go home,” you deadpan.
“When’d you get so mean?” Steve lilt, beaming at you as he settles on the couch again.
The two of you absentmindedly crawl back into your original positions. He lounges behind you and clutches you to his chest again. “You used to be so nice, Toby Turtle—”
“Don’t,” you protest, halfway smiling despite the glare you give him. You look almost owlish behind the thick lenses. "It's not funny."
“I’m just kidding, babe,” he promises. He sprinkles kisses to your face and laughs into each one. “I love them. I swear.”
“I’m glad someone does,” you murmur.
Steve pulls back with a grin, toeing the line between sincerity and mischief. “I’ll show how much I like ‘em later,” he teases quietly, squeezing the outside of your thigh where his hand rests. “I have a feeling I’m gonna have a lot of fun with these tonight.”
Your face heats at his words. Your nose scrunches, feigning disgust as you push him away.
“Perv,” you mumble, crossing your arms over your chest and turning so your back is pressed against him again.
“I thought Toby Turtle was supposed to be nice—”
“Steve!”

“hey, pretty girl.”
pulling the phone away from your ear confused, you checked your screen to see who was on the other line, frowning slightly when you saw no contact.
“who is this?” setting the home phone back on it’s stand, you let the call ring out on speaker, turning your attention back to the stove.
“there’s no fun in telling you who i am just yet, why don’t you answer a few of my questions first.”
rolling your eyes, you shook the pot once more before turning to lean against the counter, the buttery smell of popcorn filling your nose. “why should i do that?” speaking over the loud crackles and pops coming from the fire, you moved around the island to grab a bowl.
“it’ll be fun. so tell me, what’s your favorite scary movie?”
“hm, i don’t know.” pouring the yellow kernels into the large bowl, you popped a few pieces into your mouth with a satisfied hum. grabbing the phone and turning it off speaker, you pressed it between your ear and shoulder, balancing the device steadily. “maybe, halloween? think that’s the one where that guy stalks the babysitters.”
“you think it was scary?”
“i guess, anyways. tell me who you are now.” ungraciously falling onto the couch, you picked at the pieces of popcorn that had fallen into your lap, licking your lips with a smile as a salty taste covered your tastebuds.
“can’t do that princess, haven’t finished asking my questions.”
“then hurry up and ask them already.” annoyance showing on your face, you reached across the many throw pillows and grabbed the remote —  clicking through the channels with disinterest, before going to browse your downloaded pick of scary movies.
“you got a boyfriend?”
eyebrows raising in shock, you stilled with a quiet laugh. “why, wanna ask me out on a date or what.” you teased the person on the other line, shifting in your seat as you began to ponder who you were really talking to.
“we’ll see, do you have a boyfriend?”
“no.” placing the overflowing bowl of popcorn on the coffee table, you stood to make way to your room, keeping the chunky phone against your ear.
“that’s a shame, such a pretty one you are.”
biting back a smile, you switched the light to your room on; bending down to open your drawer of pajamas, you tossed an oversized shirt onto your neatly made bed. “you gonna be this charming to me when i find out who you are?”
“maybe.”
“got anymore questions for me, or can i start guessing who this is.” unbuttoning your jeans, you kicked the pair of uncomfortable pants off . turning the speaker back on, you tossed the phone onto your pillow, pulling your tank top up and over your head before slipping on the big shirt.
“go ahead, you’re giving me such a good show.”
“what are you talking about?” picking up the dirty clothes that you had left stranded on your floor, you walked into your connecting bathroom, putting the clothes in your dirty hamper.
“hm, that’s a nice shirt you’re wearing. where did you get it?”
eyes widening in surprise, you slowly turned back into your bedroom, your knuckles white as you gripped onto the phone. “can you see me?”
“ah what a good girl! putting her brain to some use.”
“if you can really see me, how many fingers am i holding up?” walking up to your window, you peered outside trying to get a good look. sticking out your middle finger, you squinted as you stared into your dark backyard, trying to piece together unfamiliar shadows.
“funny, one.”
“shit.” shutting your blinds in hurry, you stumbled out of your room, quickly heading back downstairs. “who is this, jason?”
“from econ? no.”
“you better leave me alone, my boyfriend is coming over soon.” closing the blinds to your backdoor, you shuffled into your kitchen, grabbing a large knife. “he’s strong, s-so get out of here!”
“i thought you said you didn’t have a boyfriend?”
“w-well i lied!” locking your front door, you turned down all the lights, curling into a corner, knife in hand. your breath was ragged, eyes darting from place to place in worry. “tell me who you are before i call the police.”
“quit being such a brat, the fun isn’t over just yet.”
chewing on your lip, tears lined your waterline as fear overtook you. anxiety creeping up your throat with every shallow breath you took. “this isn’t funny.” you flinched at the loud noise emitting from the buzzing device, a staticy and robotic laugh filling the eerily quiet apartment.
“you look so cute with that knife. what’re you gonna do, stab me?”
“show yourself, you coward!” standing from the hardwood floor, you paced around the kitchen, blinking away any tears that threatened to spill down your pink cheeks. frustration and anger burning in your chest, when the anonymous caller laughed again.
“careful what you wish for.”
a loud ringing echoes from the phone as the call ends, the wind whistling against the windows has you whipping your head to each sudden noise. pressing yourself up against the wall, the knife that you held a safe distance away from you.
“where are you, motherfucker.” your voice just barely above a whisper, you jumped at the sound of your doorknob rattling – a fist loudly knocking against the wood of your door. “go away! i’ll kill you.”
“baby? hey, what’s going on it’s just me.”
“ethan?” letting the knife drop to the marble of your kitchen countertop, you winced at the loud clang. running to your front door, you stood on the tip of your toes, peering through the peak hole to see your boyfriend awkwardly standing in front of you. twisting the lock, you threw the door open before jumping into his arms.
“what’s wrong? did you forget i was coming or something?” pressing a quick kiss to your cheek, he circles his arms around your waist with a hesitant laugh.
“no- no. this guy just prank called me, i was so scared.” pressing your face into his shoulder, you gripped onto his coat, muffled sobs racking from your chest. “he saw me, ethan.”
“no, pretty, don't cry. i’m sure it was just some sick joke.” gently pulling you away from his tearstained coat, he cradled your face in the palm of his hand; wiping your wet cheeks, he pressed a light kiss in between your brows. “relax, no one’s gonna hurt you as long as i’m here.”
“can you stay the night?” leaning into his touch, you wrapped your arms around his neck pulling him closer to you. “don’t think i can sleep without you.” twirling his thick brown hair between your fingers, you sighed heavily, relaxing in his embrace.
“of course, i was planning on it anyway.” adjusting the bag on his shoulder, he squeezed your hip once nudging you inside your apartment. “don’t want these creeps lookin at you, especially without pants.”
shaking your head with a smile, you wiped your remaining tears with the back of your hand, sniffling quietly and shuffling back inside. “lock it, please.” grabbing his bag, you tossed it onto the sofa, the sound of a lock clicking easing your shoulders.
“you were really scared, huh.” ethan laughs at the abandon knife on the counter, picking it up and putting it back with the other collection of cooking knives.
“i was, that was the creepiest interaction i’ve ever had.” dragging your hands down your face with a huff, you walked over to your boyfriend, wrapping your arms around his torso and pressing your face into his back. “y’should jus’ move in with me.” your words muffled, you felt his chest rise and fall with another laugh.
“i was the one that made that request, i’d rather live with you than chad.” he loosened your arms around him, dragging you around his body so you were caged between him and the counter. “i am really sorry you had to go through that, did you call the police?”
“no, i think there are worse things to worry about. it was just some silly call.” rubbing your arms nervously, you took a deep breath, reassuring yourself of any crazy thoughts. “i don’t want to talk about it anymore, how was your day?” pulling yourself up on the countertop, you shuddered lightly when your bare skin met with the cool marble.
“uninteresting, just caught up in some classes, i missed you a lot.” moving in between your legs, he dragged his fingers against your thigh, teasing the hem of your shirt higher up your leg. “is this mine? i’ve been looking for it.” inching his hand up your shirt, he squeezed your hip, his thumb trailing along the lace of your panties.
“mhm, it’s comfortable. didn’t think you’d miss it much.” sinking your teeth into your bottom lip, you placed your hands on his chest, drawing little circles into his shirt. looking up at him through your lashes, you licked your lips, your fingers settling at the base of his neck. “ethan…”
“what is it, baby.” bringing his other hand up to your cheek, he tucked a strand of hair behind your ear. “want me to stop?” moving to retract his hand that found it’s way under your shirt, he looked down at you with worried eyes, scared that he had read the room wrong.
“no! no. i want you, ethan.” grabbing his wrist, you bring his large hands back to your body, leaning forward to press a sweet kiss to his collarbone. “do you— do you want me?” guiding his hands under your shirt, you whined softly, his cold fingers grazing your stomach.
“oh fuck.” mumbling under his breath, he pressed his lips to your forehead, glancing down at your exposed panties; pretty and pink, decorated with a white lace, a small bow stitched right in the center.
“gonna answer my question?” trailing along the seam of his belt, you played with the hem of his shirt, your lips lingering on his skin with every word you mumbled.
“i do, baby. let me make you feel good.” rubbing up and down your sides with a light chuckle, he gently patted your waist. “you deserve it, such a good girl.”
tugging at the collar of his thick coat, you pressed your soft lips to his with a happy hum, your fingers entangling in his curly brunette hair. swiping your tongue against his bottom lip, you brought your hand up to cup his jaw, pulling him impossibly closer to you.
ethan grinned against your lips, snaking his arm around your waist to grind his clothed crotch against your damp panties. “s’wet for me, haven’t even done anything to you yet.”
gasping into his mouth at the roll of his hips, you squeezed your thighs around his waist yearning for more. “please, ethan.” your words blurred together as you continued to kiss him – you tugged lightly on his hair with a mewl, the bulge showing in his jeans nudging your clit.
“so needy, can’t wait–”
a deafening ring cuts him off, his phone softly buzzing in the pocket of his jacket. letting your hands fall from his hair and atop of his shoulders, you shook your head with concern. “ethan, no.”
“relax, i bet it’s just chad.” giving your thigh a reassuring squeeze, he reaches into his pocket, pulling out the red phone. tilting his screen, he showed you the number on the screen, one that he had not previously saved. “recognize it?”
“no, i wasn’t shown a number.” anxiously playing with your fingers, you kept your eyes glued to the vibrating phone. “put it on speaker.”
nodding at your request, you watched him accept the call, letting it play out loud. “who is this?”
“hello, ethan. what’s your favorite scary movie?”

I saw an early screening of the Mean Girls movie last night, so here is a summary of my thoughts, comparing the movie musical to the Broadway musical, which I was lucky enough to see live in 2018!
Changed that I liked:
The usage of social media in the Broadway show made it very clear that it was written by adults who didn’t know much about Gen-Z. It was probably one of the worst parts of the show in my opinion. But Tina Fey must have done her research since 2018, because the way the movie uses TikTok, memes, vlogging, and FaceTime to push the story forward worked VERY well. I think there were some influencer cameos, but it didn’t feel they were included to show how “young and hip” they were, It actually added authenticity.
The diversity within the cast and changing last names to reflect the characters’ backgrounds (Karen Smith ➡️ Karen Shetty, Janis Sarkisian ➡️ Janis 'Imi'ike)
Cutting down “Meet the Plastics.” It’s a very exposition-heavy song and doesn’t need to be super long, even though the full version is quite catchy and fun.
All of the new jokes landed so well, probably because Tina Fey’s writing style is better suited for the screen as opposed to the stage.
This is more of a comparison of the musical vs. the original film, but a big change was The Plastics’ weaponized wokeness (which I talk about here).
The production design for most of the songs was very different. The stage musical has a lot of rock songs, which were changed to a pop sound for the movie. I personally prefer rock musicals, but it was a good way to give the movie a separate identity from its predecessor so it doesn’t risk becoming a carbon copy. It worked on some songs (“Someone Gets Hurt” and “World Burn”) but not on others (“A Cautionary Tale” and “Revenge Party”).
Cutting the joke about Regina’s ass being big. It was a very low-brow joke, which I’m not a fan of, and was just really immature. Thank God that was changed to her falling, which still shows her being embarrassed without her body being the joke.
Explicitly making Janis a lesbian! (It’s only implied in the stage show with “It’s not even true… I only have one butt”) And she goes to prom with a girl while Damien dances with a boy! ALSO THERE’S REJANIS LORE AND IT’S SO HEARTBREAKING I LOVE IT
megan thee stallion just… being there
Miss Norbury and Principal Duvall being a couple and owning a dog together!!!
As a low mezzo, I appreciated whoever decided to lower the key for “I’d Rather Be Me.” I felt very represented 🩷
Having Cady be raised in a single-parent household so it focuses in more on her relationship with her mom. Jenna Fischer was so motherly and sincere and brought a warmth to the movie. Their scene together near the end made me emotional (you’re never too old to ask your parent to stay with you until you fall asleep) (also this is my request to make jenna fischer my mom)
Changes that I didn’t like:
Cutting BOTH of Damian’s solos??? (SHE’S LEAVING!!!!!!!! JUST LIKE MY DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Cutting “More Is Better.” It wasn’t necessarily a memorable song, but it did give both Cady and Aaron more depth, both as separate characters and within their relationship.
While cutting some of the songs helped with pacing, cutting HALF of the score made me forget that it was a musical sometimes, which sucks because I really like musicals!!!
Other stuff:
The movie was marketed horribly. One of my friends didn’t even know it was gonna be a musical because there were no songs in the trailers 💀 (Also, this isn’t just a Mean Girls problem. The Color Purple also didn’t have any songs in the trailer. I didn’t even know Wonka was a musical until I saw it in theaters, so that was a bit of a shock.) If you’re producing a musical movie, maybe your focus groups should be musical fans, because that’s still a HUGE market.
Auliʻi Cravalho’s voice is STUNNING! She and Jaquel Spivey had great chemistry and their friendship felt so genuine!
The opening and ending transitions from the garage were everything to me
The EDITING
Angourie Rice is a great actor and fit Cady perfectly… except for her singing. Out of the entire cast she was easily the weakest in terms of vocals and it was pretty disappointing since she’s the LEAD. I could barely hear her in the new song “What Ifs” because of how quiet and breathy she was. I think it’s a better written song compared to “Roar” though.
Jon Hamm cameo!
Ashley Park cameo!
I cannot stress enough how funny this movie was. I was probably laughing louder than everyone else in the theatre.
I lost my shit during “Meet the Plastics” when Regina unzipped her jacket and Cady was staring at her boobs. She’s just like me fr 🏳️‍🌈
I know that Regina is a horrible person but I couldn’t find it in me to dislike her in the slightest. She just served too much cunt 😩
Christopher Briney is a good actor, but I don't think he was the right choice for Aaron Samuels. I would hate to ridicule anyone for their looks, but it still plays an important part in casting. Aaron is supposed to be a somewhat naive, wholesome, hot jock (and Regina has high standards, so he better be a fucking model). Briney is definitely a cutie, but gives off “smoldering badboy with a secret sensitive side” energy, which isn’t what Aaron should be.
The fantasy sequences (Stupid With Love, Revenge Party, October 3rd). I LOVE when movie musicals USE the medium to tell stories in a way that they can’t on a stage!!!
THE CHOREO!!! Everyone freezing then shaking in “Someone Get Hurt” AHHHH that entire number was HYPNOTIZING!!!!!!!!!!! My friend told me the choreographer’s name is Kyle Hanagami, so shout out to him. (also reneé rapp was so fucking hot while singing that oh my lord)
I will be calling my pimples “face breasts” from now on (avantika ilysm)
DAMIAN’S FRENCH COVER OF THE ICARLY THEME SONG 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
why was there a 0.5 camera shot of cady during revenge party 💀
“I’d Rather Be Me” was so much fun and I felt so fucking empowered. And the transition from the song to the bus was just *chef’s kiss*
“donut worry i am still your freend” 🥺
Lindsay Lohan cameo!!!!!!!!!
NOT ENOUGH RENEÉ RAPP 😭😭
Overall, the movie was not perfect, but the Broadway show already had plenty of flaws, so it’s understandably how that would affect the adaptation. I still a LOT of fun and would definitely see it again. Go stream Snow Angel by Reneé Rapp. i love women 🥰🥰🥰

TEACH ME PT.3 | TRAVIS KELCE
Tumblr media
a/n : The third part of Teach Me is finally here. Sorry for the wait, I was done but decided to rewrite it because I wasn't satisfied with the result. Hope you like it 🙏🏼 Enjoy!
Warnings: None, some fluff aand flirt, first date with Travis
Words: 2,560
Pairing: Travis Kelce x Reader
Part 2
TEACH ME PART 3 | TRAVIS KELCE
The next morning, you woke up feeling content and excited. You had spent the rest of the night with Camille, in your pyjamas, doing skincare, watching movies and daydreaming about Ryan Gosling in the Notebook.
The smell of freshly brewed coffee welcomed you the moment you stepped into the kitchen. You best friend was pouring herself a cup when she saw you come in.
‘’Coffee?’’ she asked you, raising the coffee pot in the air.
‘’Is that even a question?’’  you said, looking at her like she grew three heads. She giggled as you sat down at the kitchen island. She poured you a mug as you looked through your phone, noticing an unread text message from an unknown number. You smiled and blushed as you opened it.
I had a lot of fun yesterday ☺️
A picture was attached to the message. Wyatt was in her uncle’s arms, as you laughed loudly at something she said, Travis looking at you with a big grin.
‘’What are you smiling about?’’ Camille interrupted you, leaning over your shoulder and looking at your screen as she dropped a mug in front of you. ‘’Ouh … would you look at that’’ she said taking your cellphone from your hands as she examined every detail shown in the picture.
After a few seconds, you snatched it back, giggling at the way she looked at you with big eyes. ‘’What?’’, ‘’ Girl, have you seen the way he looks at you? He’s obsessed.’’ Your faced became even more red than it already was.
‘’Are you going to stand here and look at your phone all day or are you going to answer back?’’ she continued nudging you, smirking as you rolled your eyes at her. Your phone buzzed again.
It’s Travis by the way.
You giggled before replying.
Thank you for clarifying, I couldn’t really tell by the picture 😜
Your phone started ringing indicating a call.
Incoming Call – Travis Kelce
You panicked for a second, showing your screen to Camille before she hurried you to pick up and talk to him. ‘’Hi’’ ‘’Hey… that wasn’t very clever of me, was it?’’ he asked scratching his head, slightly embarrassed. You giggled at his question before he talked again. ‘’So, how did you sleep?’’
‘’Pretty good actually, thanks for asking, what about you?’’ ‘’I slept okay… you know, I really had fun yesterday and I meant what I said Y/N, I would really like to take you out soon.’’ You smiled and walked towards the living room to get a little bit more privacy.
‘’Perhaps tomorrow night, if you’re free.’’ You blushed. ‘’Tomorrow works for me.’’
‘’Great’’ he exclaimed loudly, fist pumping in the air. You couldn’t see him but just by the tone of his voice you just knew he was excited. “Uhm, I’ll pick you up at 7’’ you discussed a little more before you gave him your address and said your goodbyes.
As you came back into the kitchen, Camille put her phone down quickly, focusing entirely on you with eager eyes. ‘’And, what did he say?’’ she asked as you sat down facing her, sipping on your coffee. ‘’We are going out tomorrow night’’ you said shrugging your shoulders like it was nothing.
‘’Ahhhhhhh’’ she screamed with excitement ‘’My best friend is going out on a date with a hot professional football player’’ she said dancing around you, making you laugh. ‘’I’m trying to stay calm and collected but I’m nervous as hell.’’ You stated.
You, going out with Travis would be the first date you’d be going on since breaking up with Christopher a few months ago. You were excited because you could feel the connection you had with Travis, but you couldn’t help but to freak out. He was famous, girls were throwing themselves at him, tabloids would be making rumors and publicizing everything he did. Going on dates with him and maybe developing a relationship of some sort would mean you’d have to accept his lifestyle and accept to be a part of it.
In contrast, your life remained quite uneventful. After graduating, you pursued a career as a preschool teacher. Although you occasionally socialized with friends, your life was predominantly marked by its tranquility.
During your younger years, spontaneity defined your character, but being in a relationship with Christopher necessitated a shift. Christopher's finance job revolved around meticulous planning, and he was a dedicated organizer. It became unusual for the two of you to engage in spontaneous outings or unplanned trips; everything adhered to a pre-established agenda.
You adapted to this routine, although it never truly brought you much satisfaction. Becoming his girlfriend changed you. You had become quieter, and organisation and planning were now a part of your daily life.
‘’Should we go shopping to find you a new outfit?’’ Camille asked, wiggling her eyebrows making you laugh. ‘’I wouldn’t even know what to shop for, I have no idea what he has planned or where we are going.’’ You responded not knowing what to except from your date.
Later that day you ended up going to the mall, browsing to find an appropriate outfit for your evening with Travis. Camille wanted to stop by Victoria Secret on your way out because they had a sale going on.
Your eyes danced around the store, looking around at all the different color garment. You picked up a cute 2-piece red set and showed it to your friend.
‘’What do you think of this one?’’ You asked placing it in front of you. Camille smirked at you ‘’I’m sure Travis will love it’’ you chuckled, shoving her as she giggled back at you.
‘’As if I was sleeping with him tomorrow.’’ ‘’I mean, have you seen him? I wouldn’t blame you.’’ She exclaimed before moving towards other gondolas as she continued shopping for herself.  You waited for her by the cash as she paid for her items.
After she was done, she came towards you, and she handed you a small black and pink bag. ‘’What is this?’’ ‘’A gift’’ you looked inside the bag seeing the red two-piece lace set that you had your eyes on earlier.
‘’Just don’t forget to mention my contribution to your relationship in you guys’ wedding speech.’’ She winked before running slowly towards the exit, laughing as you rolled your eyes blushing.
The next day passed by pretty fast and soon enough you were getting ready for your date with Travis. You looked at the clock and realised he would be there any minute. You applied the last touch of lip gloss on your lips before you heard a knock on the door. You stared at yourself in the mirror and took one last look before walking towards the entry way. You took a deep breath and opened the door.
There stood Travis, looking handsome as ever, a single red rose in his hand as he looked up at you, smiling.
‘’Hi’’
‘’Hi’’ you gave him a small smile in return. ‘’This is for you’’ he said handing you the flower before you smelled it, blushing at the nice gesture. You thanked him and invited him inside while you fetched a small vase for your rose. You grabbed your coat and your purse before meeting him back and front.
As you stepped inside, the soft hum of conversation surrounded you. The hostess greeted you with a warm smile and led you to your table in a quiet and more private corner. Travis pulled out your chair with a grace that belied his powerful frame. You talked casually before Travis ordered some wine and you both ordered some food.
As the evening wore on, your conversation shifted to more personal matters. You talked about your families, your childhoods, and the moments that had shaped you into the people you had become.
"So, what's one thing about you that not many people know?" Travis asked, genuine curiosity in his eyes.
You took a moment to think, then smiled. "Well, I have a secret passion for old black-and-white movies. There's something about the nostalgia and the storytelling that just draws me in."
His eyes lit up with intrigue. "Really? That's unexpected, but incredibly charming. Any favorites?"
You leaned forward, eager to share. "Casablanca, definitely. The way they captured the complexities of love and sacrifice... it's just timeless."
He nodded, his expression thoughtful. "I'll have to give it a watch. It sounds like a movie that could teach a guy a thing or two about love." He said looking at you with a small smirk while you blushed lightly.
As the night deepened, you touched on dreams and aspirations. Travis spoke of his desire to give back to his community, to make a difference beyond the football field. It was inspiring to see this side of him, the man behind the athlete.
"And what about you?" he asked, his gaze steady. "What's something you've always wanted to achieve?"
You took a moment to gather your thoughts. "I've always had this dream of opening a community center for underprivileged kids. A place where they can learn, grow, and discover their potential."
He looked at you, a mixture of admiration and respect in his eyes. "That's amazing. I have no doubt you'd make a huge impact on those kids' lives. I mean you already do, I can see it with Wyatt" he continued as you smiled and blushed.
After excusing yourself to visit the restroom, you made your way back to your table, the soft glow of the restaurant enveloping your figure. As you approached, a heartwarming sight unfolded before your eyes.
There stood Travis, a towering figure of kindness and humility, crouched down to meet the eye level of a young fan who couldn't have been more than seven or eight. The child's eyes sparkled with pure delight as he clutched what looked like to be a jersey, beaming from ear to ear.
Without missing a beat, Travis leaned in for a picture, their faces alight with shared enthusiasm. The child's guardian, a beaming parent, snapped the photo, capturing a moment that would undoubtedly become a cherished memory.
Your heart swelled with admiration as you watched him interact with the young fan. He treated the boy with a kindness and genuine affection that spoke volumes about his character. It was clear that he understood the impact he could have on young lives, and he embraced that responsibility with grace.
As they finished up, the child's beaming smile remained, and he gave Travis a heartfelt hug, which was reciprocated with equal warmth. They exchanged a few words, and the child left, practically floating on air, clutching the signed football jersey as if it were a priceless treasure.
As Travis turned to head back to your table, his eyes met yours, and his face lit up with a mixture of joy and pride. You couldn't help but be moved by the scene before you. Here was a man whose heart was as big as his presence on the field, someone who understood the impact he could have on those who looked up to him.
He joined you at the table, a soft smile playing on his lips. "Sorry about that. I couldn't resist when I saw that little guy's face light up."
You smiled back, your heart still full from the touching moment. "No need to apologize. It was beautiful to see."
He nodded, a glint of gratitude in his eyes. "It's moments like these that remind me why I do what I do."
And in that instant, you knew you were witnessing something special. Not just the heartwarming encounter with the young fan, but the genuine, kind-hearted man sitting across from you. It was a reminder that behind the glitz and glamour of his profession, Travis was a person who cared deeply about making a positive impact in the world. It was a quality that made you even more grateful to be getting to know him on this special evening.
As you sipped your wine, a mischievous glint danced in Travis's eyes. "You know," he said, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial tone, "I've been told that sharing dessert is a great way to test compatibility."
You leaned in, a playful smile tugging at your lips. "Is that so? Well, I wouldn't want to jeopardize our compatibility, now would I?"
He chuckled, his gaze lingering on yours. "Then I guess we'll have to order something sinfully decadent."
"Agreed," You said, your heart doing a little somersault. "After all, we wouldn't want to leave anything to chance."
As the waiter approached, Travis turned his attention to the menu, a twinkle of mischief still in his eyes. "I think we'll take the chocolate lava cake. And two spoons, please."
The waiter nodded, a knowing smile playing on his lips. "Excellent choice."
As soon as the dessert arrived, Travis looked at you with feigned innocence. "Shall we put this compatibility theory to the test?"
You picked up your spoon, meeting his gaze with a playful glint of your own. "Let's find out, shall we?"
You each took a bite, savoring the rich, velvety sweetness. Your eyes locked, and a shared laughter bubbled up between you. It was a delicious game of playful flirtation, and you were thoroughly enjoying every moment.
Your conversation shifted to lighter topics, and you shared stories about your favorite travel destinations and memorable experiences. With every word, it became clearer that you both were kindred spirits, sharing a sense of adventure and a zest for life.
You were both becoming more comfortable, and your conversation took a flirty turn. You playfully teased Travis about some of the extravagant vacations he'd been on, and he responded with charming anecdotes and witty comebacks.
"You certainly know how to live the good life, Travis. I'm impressed," You said, feigning astonishment.
He leaned in, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Well, I might know my way around the football field, but I'm still figuring this whole 'impressing someone on a date' thing out."
You laughed, feeling your cheeks flush. "You're doing just fine, trust me."
The waiter returned to clear your plates and placed the bill on the table. You reached out to grab it, but Travis had faster hands. ‘’I got it, if I remember correctly, I invited you tonight, didn’t I? ‘’ ‘’You did, I really appreciate it, thank you.’’ You said with a smile.
As you guys stepped out of the restaurant, the cool night air felt invigorating against your skin. The cityscape stretched before you, a tapestry of lights and life. Travis slipped his hand into yours, your eyes meeting, his touch warm and reassuring, as you strolled along the bustling streets.
As you walked, your fingers intertwined, a subtle electricity passed between the both of you, a silent acknowledgment of the connection you were forging. It was a sweet and tender moment, a sign of the intimacy that was blossoming between you.
As you passed a lively bar, the sounds of laughter and music spilled out onto the sidewalk. A small group of intoxicated man were chatting outside when a voice caught your attention.
‘’Y/N?’’ Your heart skipped a beat as you locked eyes with him. Standing there, slightly swaying, was Christopher, your ex-fiancé, a figure from a chapter of your life you thought was firmly closed.

You know what really gets me about ATSV
ATSV: How to do a face reveal right
[A SHORT essay on why I think Miguel and Hobie are Hot On Purpose.]
Jessica's face is completely uncovered. Ben's face is shown right away. Pavitr appears in his mask but immediately shows his face in his own intro. Margo is always unmasked too.
CMIIW but: Miguel and Hobie are the only new characters whose faces were hidden until WAY after their first lines.
You mean to tell me, two of the finest characters in the movie. The characters who look like THIS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Are shown first as this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- for a reason!! The writers knew what they were doing 😭
They - knowing the two would receive the most fan attention - deliberately delayed their face reveals simply for the sake of the drama.
When we first meet Miguel - it's as Spider-man
He's playing the cool, cold, heroic leader (despite Gwen's teasing). We come close to seeing his face, but like him, we stop short.
Tumblr media
They give us a taste of Miguel before we actually meet him, or see his face and full design.
The opening scenes of ATSV leaves us holding our breath.
The end of ITSV sets Miguel up to a big problem in ATSV, but he's abscent for the majority of the movie, working behind the scenes.
We spend the majority of the movie holding our breath, knowing that eventually Miles will have to meet him, we'll have to meet him, and it leaves the viewer even more excited - or anxious - for Miguel.
When we meet Hobie - it's as Spider-Punk
Just the same as Miguel, we're given a HUGE dose of Hobie before he even hits the screen.
Hobie is the talk of the town. Miles has an imagined problem with him - so we have a problem with him: We don't know who he is!
ATSV sets us up for Hobie. We know we'll meet him, but unlike Miguel - as so very in character for Hobie - we don't know where, or when, or how.
Tumblr media
Even after his first appearance - he kicks it up a notch.
And although he could've remained masked for the entirety of his intro, instead - the animators choose to have fun with it.
Tumblr media
They highlight the fact. Hobie outright taunts the viewer; He KNOWS you want to see his face. Sure, he'll demask himself - but he doesn't give you the satisfaction.
But Hobies face is an intentional mystery. He wants to keep you guessing, revealing in the anticipation.
He's already told you his name - but it's his character design that we're left dying for.
I know as soon as they got in the elevator I was like 👀 - he not gonna keep that mask on right. cause I know he fine
I find it so funny that the two characters that are thirsted after on the highest level are the only ones that reveal their faces in later scenes.
Like even when they walk into Miguels lair
Tumblr media
Like bro what the fuck are you posing for? Dramatic effect 😐
It goes to show that writers genuinely know who will be fan-favorites.
The ATSV design and animation team made a ridiculous amount of content for Hobie - going so far as to design his house, and make detailed imagery of his world.
They knew it'd never be included in ATSV. But they didn't care.
They made it anyway cause they knew people would want more of him. They knew that either in BTSV - or a solo entry of his own - people would really like Hobie, and really want to know more about him.
The knew that people would go NUTS over Miguel's redesign - because it's such a stark difference and upgrade from his teaser seen in ITSV.
In the beginning of ATSV, the design changes aren't that apparent. But as ATSV goes on, and we see Miguel's behavior, we immediately understand why they chose to make Miguel SO MUCH LARGER than what they were planning in ITSV.
They knew that you'd hear Oscar Issac's voice and it'd be a wrap. The way he looks is just ICING on the cake. They don't need to show you Miguel right away, they're going to make you thirst the whole movie before you actually get to see him.
They knew you'd see Hobie kick through that force field and be shook over him.
Gwen and Pavitr yell out 'Hobie!' when he arrives - because that's what we're all screaming in our heads.
'Oh shit - he's HERE.'
His face reveal is just the final nail in the coffin of 'yeah, im down bad for this dude. it's a wrap.'
I just LOVE IT i LOVE IT it SO CLEVER
the writers being like 'nah make them thirsty hoes wait'. Im watching Mumbattan fall apart in front of my very eyes and I'm still like... 'So about that Hobie bloke.... what's his deal'
We are all so predictable. They're laughing at us. They made Miguel dummy thicc because they knew. They just knew.

patience is a virtue, everybody knows that.
you know it too. the only issue? patience is a virtue that you don't have.
you're an impatient person by nature, born with an inherent restlessness within your bones that keys you up more often than you'd like to admit. in school, you were always thinking about your next degree. with work, you're always thinking about the next big thing, the future position you'll hopefully land once you gain enough experience. you're always waiting for something else, constantly looking forward to the days ahead instead of living in the now. it's a personal flaw, you're well aware of this.
it happens when it comes to even the most mundane things. what cafe should you try next weekend, even if you're not even half done with the caramel macchiato you're holding in your hands? what movie should you watch next, even if the one playing on your tv screen hasn't gone into its second act yet?
your impatience already flares up on a daily basis, but it's even more amplified and unbearable whenever minho is away. it doesn't help that he's often gone for weeks, if not months on end. you're always counting down the days until he's back before he's even out the door.
"just one more week, yeah?"
his words hang heavy in the silence of your bedroom. your phone is on speaker, set against the pillow next to yours so you could pretend like he's here with you when you close your eyes. you try to facetime every day even if it's only for fifteen, twenty minutes. just to catch up on each other's day and at least see each other for a while before you go to sleep. it's bittersweet, being able to look at him and hear him talk but only from the digital void of your phone.
even though you tend to hide from him how you really feel, how much you actually miss him and wish for him to be back by your side, you think it must still bleed through from time to time. be it the subtle way your voice drops during conversation or how your eyes glaze over with sadness just a little bit when you stare at his handsome face for too long on video call.
you know minho is trying to comfort you. he wouldn't be a very good partner if he can't tell that his own girlfriend is having a hard time without him, would he? and it's not like you bitch and moan any chance you get. no, you always try to hide it from him because it's not his fault that he has to be away sometimes, not like he's choosing to leave you just for the fun of it.
you know his gentle reminder is meant to mitigate your ache, but it only makes you be more aware of how time doesn't seem to pass when he's not here. the clock stops ticking the second he's gone, and you feel like you have to drag yourself through every minute of every hour and repeat the process for days and weeks and months.
"one week is too long," you say quietly. "time passes slower without you."
seven days. one hundred and sixty eight hours. ten thousand and eighty minutes. it's practically nothing compared to the time that has already passed, but that doesn't mean that you get to miss him any less even though it's only a two-hour flight away.
minho doesn't really reply directly to what you said. instead, he tries to distract you with anecdotes of his day - like a funny looking pigeon he saw on the street earlier or a cute photo of soonie that his mom sent him. it works a little. he considers it a success when you crack a smile and giggle at his theatrics.
he keeps the conversation light until you're biting back a yawn and he knows it's time to let you get some rest. even when you're saying your goodnights, neither of you mention what day it'll be tomorrow. you're sure that in the morning you'll wake up to messages from him - not entirely poetic because it's not his specialty, but they'll still be infinitely and wonderfully sincere. you don't bring it up in case he feels guilty, and you think he doesn't bring it up because the reminder that he won't be here might make you sleep restlessly tonight.
you fall asleep with a little bit of a heavy heart, and wake up when the sound of your doorbell ringing fills your apartment at precisely 7:06am. the other side of the bed still cold and devoid of your minho, but it's not the first thing that you notice like you do every morning.
no, the first thing that you register today is the vivid discomfort of having your peace disturbed so early on when it should be a day that you get to spend feeling nothing but comfort and contentment. or at least, as content as you can get without minho here. you carry that irritation with you all the way to the front door, wild bedhead and all.
the door swings open.
you're a deer in the headlights and suddenly your displeasure is vanished, gone in a second like it was never there to begin with.
"surpriseee!"
a sheepish greeting.
you rub your eyes, then pinch yourself on the arm.
you're not really sure what happens next. it's all just a blur of tears and ugly sobbing as you launch yourself into his arms, almost making him knock into the suitcase that's still perched right beside him. the bouquet of peonies in his hand becomes an unfortunate victim as it falls to the floor after the impact, but minho leaves it be, in favor of holding you as tightly as you're holding onto him.
his fingers tangled in your hair, your arms wound around his neck securely like you're afraid you're still dreaming and he'll disappear if you let go. you don't question why he's here; you just accept that he is.
minho peppers warm kisses to your cheeks, your jawline, your forehead and your lips. it's graceless and it's damp from your tears but neither of you could bring yourself to care. he murmurs with an upward quirk of his mouth where he's pressing his smile to your lips, all affection, all love. "happy birthday, baby."

Propaganda
Elizabeth Taylor (Cleopatra, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof)—iconic actress with purple eyes and a double row of eyelashes, the real ebony dementia ravenway of old hollywood. known for her stunning tastes when it comes to jewelry and her incredible, incredible advocacy during the AIDS crisis.
Clara Bow (Wings, It)—The original It Girl (literally), Clara was the epitome of a flapper film star. She was obviously a looker, but it was her acting that won over hearts. Watch the movie It (no clowns) to get a sense of her charms. And while she's most known for her silents, (including Wings, the winner of the first ever Best Picture Academy award) she did make some talkies! Contrary to popular belief, sound films didn't ruin her career; she reportedly just hated the process of making them. She had a really interesting background and it's a shame she's not as well remembered as others of her time.
This is round 3 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut.]
Elizabeth Taylor:
Tumblr media
I've been trying to steer clear of the absurdly-big names, but damnit, those violet eyes got me. The *talent*, the *presence*, the string of marriages and (temporally out-of-bounds) work in combating AIDS and pioneering in the concept of the celebrity fragrance line.
Not only did she have gorgeous violet eyes and lashes for days and one of the hottest voices ever, she was also a big supporter of the gay community
Child actress turned starlet, Liz dominated films as one of the greatest screen legends of classic hollywood. If your protagonist has violet eyes, they're imitating hers.
Tumblr media
A Legend. She was serving milf rage in Whos Afraid Of Virginia Woolf. A Star in every sense of the word.
She was renowned for the beauty of her eyes; they were a dark blue but could look violet in certain lighting, something that photographers would actually touch up to look even more so in pictures. But even more striking was a genetic mutation that gave her a double row of eyelashes. She was also famed for her string of husbands -- 8 marriages to 7 men. Two-time hubby Richard Burton once said she was “a wildly exciting love-mistress… beautiful beyond the dreams of pornography.”
Her EYES. Early and loud support for gay rights and AIDS victims. Married a bunch of hot dudes, Burton twice!
just look at her. she's gorgeous. there's a video somewhere of her applying her eyeliner in the mirror and I think about it all the time
Tumblr media
THE Hollywood actress of all time. Not only was she known for her long dark locks and blue-violet eyes, she also had one of the wildest life stories ever….. She’s Carrie Fisher’s stepmother because her father Eddie Fisher cheated on Debbie Reynolds with Liz. She was knighted as a dame of England. She was married to seven different men, one of them twice. She was also very kindhearted and did a lot of charity activism.
Tumblr media
Asides from being an iconic actor, she did a lot of philanthropy and co founded the American Foundation for AIDS research. She’s sometimes considered one of the last great stars of old hollywood
Tumblr media
Clara Bow:
Tumblr media
The original it girl! Flapper icon! She's sooo fun and charming and confident, it just shines through any film or picture you see of her.
I love love love her genderbendy boy style and her cute twinkly performances!! watch wings i s2g she absolutely brings it
Tumblr media
She has gorgeous doe eyes, how can you not love her?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She's literally THE It Girl. Like actually, she's the term's namesake. She was an extremely prolific silent film actress with a reputation for wild behavior who defined the 20s flapper era. Her boyish frame, androgynous style, and red curly hair were widely emulated.

my favorite thing to think about is camp half blood and them as a community so here’s random chb head cannons bc i said so and i love them
this is gonna be long
i’ve said this before i’ll say it again Aphrodite cabin haircut day (which spans abt a week) it’s a whole production they have a sign up system and everything like an actual salon it’s super fun because everyone’s just talking to eachother and laughing as they sit on the floor infront of their “hair stylist”
basically every year like a yearly check up (see point 2) the aph cabin will hold a yearly hair cut day(s) where you can come in and really request anything but it’s really for just trims so no one’s walking around with split ends
don’t get me wrong if you want to cut your own hair you can you can also get a haircut any other time of the year if you want but it’s like a whole thing and it’s just easiest to do it during that time
yearly health screenings!! they also do like a screening when you first come into camp to see if anyone has allergies disabilities etc etc this is also a whole production but is less fun (apollo kids are more strict when it comes to your literal health)
on sunny days people lounge in the grass taking the sheets from their beds to make picnic type blankets but literally once one small group does it the entire field is covered in blankets all connected
when this happens it’s such a fun experience sometimes they’ll have kids dueling to the left while to the right some apollo kids are playing and singing with their friends as they pass strawberries throughout the entire coven and get sunburnt together
there’s a sign next to the dock that says “no running on dock” and edged under it is “unless percy’s on duty”
i feel like when percy is near the water/near the dock it becomes an automatic like safe zone and kids love it bc they can sprint and cannon ball off the dock without embarrassingly slipping and going to the infirmary with their heads down
speaking of percy he has a class teaching kids how to preen and handle the pegasi (pegasus??) where a bunch of them will come and lay out in the sun and he’ll walk around showing on blackjack what feathers to pluck and which to leave alone etc etc
genuinely fuck the godly parent pavilion table rule everyone sits where they want to sit when you first come it’s customary to sit with your siblings just so you get used to the people you’ll be living with but once your comfortable you sit with your friends when you want to
some kids don’t even sit at the table they sit on the floor or right outside the pavilion on the grass or on the edge with their close friend they try to not have kids eating in the big house but who’s to really stop them tbh
(i believe this one’s kinda cannon) but they have a comunal tv inside the big house along with the comunal computer and they have movie nights or you can sign up for a personal movie night but 90% of the time people will probably join you
also comunal landline lol
they also make their own movies and host their own plays when they want to (see next point) normally the apollo and aphro kids help with this but it always comes down to the hephaestus kids who record and convert so everyone can watch it on the big screen
many kids who passed in the wars are preserved in this way
PLAYS they have so many plays hosted normally by the apollo kids hephaestus and aphrodite kids help with the assembly and makeup surprisingly the 2 most cabins who actually preform (aside from apollo) are athena and ares
idk i feel like ares kids need this outlet they always act like they’re doing it only bc a lot of their friends are creatives but it’s a lie
normally the plays are just greek myths that they do with a modern twist but they can also do poems or other fun things the kids want (it’s kinda like a talent show type thing)
camp magazine!! again i’ve said this before but GYATTTT i will die on the hill of camp magazine
the magazine is a short little thing that goes out once a month normally having camp gossip interviews and reminders that go out for the month
every month the cover is decided by the ending of the previous magazine (there’s a poll) sometimes they have special guest models on the front like vogue when the aphro kids are really feeling themselves
percy has been this model on many occasions and tho he doesn’t really know it annabeth has kept every cover he’s on
this magazine was originally run by selina and after she died it was sent out to memorialize the kids who died during the first war with a pic of her and charlie as the front cover; it stopped running after that
yearly ms o’leary camp cleaning day
this is the most hectic day in chb herstory like genuinely
they have to split into 3 groups A B and C once A gets tired B comes in once Bs tired C comes in then it starts again
percy’s there as a constant stream of water and the hephaestus kids make giant scissors so they can trim her along with extra big dog brushes so they can get all her fur (i head cannon her as a HUGE fluffy dog fight with a wall idc) they always finish her off with some bows and a feast to celebrate
athena kids have a sign up sheet outside their cabin where you can sign up to get tutored you just write what you need help with and when you want the help and someone normally can
same with ares kids and learning how to fight
tbh most cabins have this when it comes to certain special talents like learning how to play instruments or gardening
they have a huge bulletin in the big house where people can pin things up have it be reminders about yearly things pictures they want up help wanted posters (lol) drawings really anything
you can leave everything up for a week for everyone to see then it’s a curtesy thing to take it down to make room for new things
help posters are infact a thing normally it’s just with things they can’t get help with day of or something that isn’t actually too important or for something far in the future
ie, if they need more actors for their play or a window won’t close or something
everyday (and this is cannon) you have a chore if you bust your ass to the big house you can sign up to some of the good ones that don’t take as long but the longer you wait to sign up the faster the good ones go
this sets up for a lot of bargaining between campers abt getting different chores but a lot of the times people do them together or with friends and it really isn’t that bad
kids often set up their own stands with different things could be sign up for a 2 minute sketch a lemonade stand or other random things
they sometimes set up field trips out to the mortal world emphasis on the sometimes
if they do it’s normally to a more crowded area like a museum or a park or something so it’s harder for monsters to smell them they also have to go armed and with at least 1 seasoned vet to every 2 campers
this has to be approved by chiron 1 month in advance and has to have said vets signature so kids are just making shit up
these groups don’t really get any bigger than 10 or so campers and they only really stay out for a couple hours but it’s always everyone’s favorite thing
since kids can’t use phones other then the landline they have a lot of cameras like a LOT of cameras every cabin has a couple and there are some in the big house too for kids to borrow and take pics with
if you break it you normally have to take on the chore of whoever’s fixing it along with whatever chiron says
you also sign up for these so they know when you took them when you brought them back and you MUST mark any scratches or anything that might happen so everyone is aware of the status of these cameras (they have monthly maintenance checks)
it’s really funny when you look through the pics different cabins take with their camera you can really tell who’s who’s
at the end of every month they get gone through by the cabin to delete whatever they don’t need and converted into whatever the cabins want so they can be preserved and reused later
camp family album; every year they take a camp picture
in the big house there’s a small library of things ranging from the memorial book to ancient greek books to the family album that holds signatures like a yearbook and camp pictures that chiron loves the most and he keeps in the book
the year(s) the books span over are written on the side so campers can look for themselves and see the history behind chb
ok i’m going to leave that at that bc i need to go clean but i will maybe come back to this later ok byeee~ (^з^)-♡

My Wishlist for Sonic 3 but it gets increasingly less likely to actually happen
"Faker" is used at least once
Maria gets shot just BARELY off screen in 4k
Live and Learn. Somewhere.
Someone mistakes Shadow for Sonic at least once
Shadow commits at least 3 crimes.
Shadow kicks Sonic's ass at least once.
Sonic, ofc, returns the favor.
SUPER SHADOW
City Escape. Somewhere. The level, the music, the premise. Something.
Sonic is the first one to mention something about Shadow maybe not actually being that bad of a guy
Sonic and Co get to space by just fully breaking into a government facility and stealing a rocket
Sonic is the one to talk Shadow out of his 'destroy the world' mentality
Tom talking him down would also be really cool
Shadow doesn't die at the end, but there is a fun fakeout.
Shadow doesn't die at the end, and its because Sonic grabs him as he's falling the way every fanart ever reimagines the scene
Chaos Emerald/Energy explanation
Fake Chaos Emerald/Sonic using Chaos Control
"It's not his speed, he must be using the Chaos Emerald to warp!"
The Tear ™️
Pumpkin Hill music
Someone mistakes Shadow for Sonic at least twice. (But once is Eggman, second is Tom or someone equally close)
Followup, if it is someone close to Sonic we get a Shadow chuckle and a "that's/you're not Sonic..."
Shadow is played as Eggman's second for the first half of the movie and isn't treated as the main big bad until like the middle/end of the second act
Reference the treasure hunting levels
Shadow is increasingly baffled by Sonic's everything, eventually culminating in the movie version of their conversation on the conveyors in the ARK. "What you see is what you get! Just a guy that loves adventure! I'm Sonic the Hedgehog!"
Shadow smiles at the end. Just a little one.
Bonus if Sonic ribs him for it and the smile falls immediately
Bonus bonus if Sonic gets punched for it
MENTION THE BLACK ARMS. PLEASE. REFERNCE IT AT MINIMUM.
Shadow getting painful flashbacks in the style of his game, the grimace and then into the flashback
Sonic getting the shoes???
Rouge??? Rouge???

Movie nights with Mc
Lucifer:
old man is only interested in old men movies and series, he would ironically enjoy the shitty comedies with laugh tracks too
okay that one is stretching it to far, he might like old Movies but Lucifer still has standards
but he is in fact a fan of old movies, especially black and white ones
and once again old man loves old ass movies but there are plenty of good once especially Psycho
he was against it at first but started to enjoy it after watching it with you
he also isn´t against watching some old time Romance movies, might be a bit dated now a days but some are enjoyable and he´s even willing to make fun of the bad ones with you
Mammon:
he loves heist movies or old romance movies and he especially loves it when you two find some that are just a mash up of both tropes
actually Mammon is just willing to watch everything as long as it isn´t a Horror movie, he´s even scared of the Human World ones so his tolerance towards such stuff is really low
and he always wants to sleep with you because of it and depending on your view on this it´s a bad or good thing
but it is pretty cute seeing him trying to hide from the movie or burying his face in your neck so he doesn´t have to see anything but it´s just as cute seeing him cheer on the main couple in a movie
whatever you show him will be a W because this man always manages to be adorable no matter what
Leviathan:
you would expect me to say all you and Leviathan watch is anime right? … well I mean it´s kinda right because that´s what you two do but he also is a big fan of nature documentaries
especially if they are about deeps sea creatures or even mockumentaries about mythology creatures
well it would only be mockumentaries when it´s from the Human world, for the Devildom or even Celestial Realm it would be a real thing
and if you thought the Devildom was scary you don´t even want to know what´s hiding in the waters of the Celestial Realm, some true terrors right up there
and honestly if the both of you are watching those in his room it´s like your own personal Horror movie
you don´t know why but there are always silhouettes that look wrong and you don´t know where they come from
Satan:
anything with blood is something he loves unless it involves animals than he loathes it and demands you to turn of the movie before he breaks the TV
which is a really small time frame until he does go through with it and the dudes brutal considering it literally did nothing but play a movie
so to save your TV you only play movies you know no animals are harmed on screen, which isn´t really that difficult
but you still have to look into the movie to know for sure, but asides the fact he tries to destroy your TV it´s usually a pretty good time
and it´s funny hearing him rant about the inaccuracy in a movie that was originally a book
Asmodeus:
he wants to watch Romance movies and nothing but Romance movies
well he might let some Horror movies fly but only if they are tasteful
I mean tasteful can be debatable because this just means it has either sexual aspects, gore or a mix of both
makes for an interesting experience in this case though
and it´s randomized depending on his mood, one that was acceptable before is unwatchable for him other days
but it never is any movies you really like so it´s whatever
but Romance movies are always a go for him and he rarely complains, unless they are painfully boring and have nothing interesting going on
but be warned if you watch them he will expect some big gestures like in the movie from you and depending on it it can be downright embarrassing to actually a very sweet and good idea
Beelzebub:
he´ll let you choose the movie or series both of you will watch but he would love to see some cooking shows or anything centered around food
which if you have enough snacks won´t be a problem but there are never enough snacks for Beel and he´ll get hungry and will go to the kitchen
I mean not much of a difference there but he´ll try to recreate the things he saw on TV and yeah sometimes it works, sometimes it´s okay and sometimes it´s so bad that not even the Avatar of Gluttony wants to eat what he made
yeah it´s that bad sometimes…
you can just say goodbye movie night and hello improvised cooking show with Beel
but it´s nice at least, he´ll share his food with you and you try your best to make something half way edible with him
Belphegor:
it actually isn´t that bad, he sleeps through most of the movies anyway and doesn´t mind you just recapping everything for him
and he´s willing to watch nearly everything with you, he won´t watch Romances with you though
he was forced to watch those with Asmo one to many times and can´t see one without wanting to go on a rampage
otherwise everything is game he doesn´t have any genre preferences either maybe he´ll even find one that pleasantly surprise him
I mean he´ll sleep through them either way but if you two watch one that he likes or is at least interested in he´ll just know what happened
but only if he likes them if he doesn´t it´s like nothing every happened and he can barely recall the name
honestly your kinda jealous of that...

HALLOWEEN DAY 2: Too scary - Multi!Muse x Fem!Reader
Pairing: Multi!muse  x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Mentions of scary movies, trauma, blood, gore, etc. Nothing too graphic
Type: Blurbs
Request: N/A
Word Count: N/A
Prompt: Turns out the movie was too terrifying for little Y/N to handle, therefore it’s their job to comfort you.
Notes: Let’s see how long I can keep this up.
Jason Voorhees: At first he wouldn’t notice, mostly focused on the movie and the candy he’s stuffing his face with. When you’d shuffle around, when he’d notice the constant movement, then he’d take a look at you only to find you with your knees close to your chest with your arms wrapped around them. It’d take a moment for him to register that your stomach was turning at the imagery. Once he would, Jason would instantly coop you up into his arms and keep you in a tiny ball, doing his best to protect you from your thoughts.
Michael Myers: He can smell fear, he’s always been exposed to fear all around him, it’s like second nature to him. When he realizes you’re afraid of the movie, he turns over to stare at you for a moment, which makes you even more uneasy. Thinking Michael looks at you like you’re a big baby, you decide to just cross your arms and brave through the rest of the film. Of course, failing miserably. Michael would force you into his arms, letting you kind of flop into his arms and situate yourself however you wanted.
Tiffany Valentine: She loves horror movies, it’s one of the things that could keep her occupied. While your stomach twists at the imagery and blood splatter on the screen, Tiffany seems mesmerized by it, not paying much attention to your squeamish reaction. Once you’re both done with the movie, she’d turn to you asking “So, how’d you like it?” Only to see you near traumatized. “Y/N!” Tiffany would wrap her arms around your face and bring you into her chest, pressing you into a hug. “Was that too scary? Why didn’t you say anything babe?” Of course she’d make it up to you, with much affection and endearment.
Billy Loomis: Doesn’t even notice at first how uncomfortable you are, no matter how much you nuzzle into him. A few flinches in, he’d look down to you to make sure you were awake, but to see you near in tears would cause him to stop the movie. “Y/N? You okay? We can stop watching this, I just thought you’d like to see it with me.” He knew better than to keep it playing when you’d tell him you were fine. “No, I mean, it’s kinda lame anyway, here’s the remote, find something better. I’m gonna get another beer, you want anything?” Then he’d come back, lay into the arm rest and bring you down with him, making sure you were cuddled into the blanket on the couch.
Stu Macher: What a dumbass, he wouldn’t really notice at all if you were crying or looking away from the screen too much. He’s “in the moment” with the gory scenes. After the movie, Stu would ask you how you’d like it only to see hot tears streaming down your cheeks. He’d laugh a little bit at how scared you looked, but then would give you the tightest hug. Stu would hold you tightly enough to give you some troubles breathing regularly, letting you put on some cartoons to forget the imagery. Will this happen again? Absolutely.
Patrick Bateman: Ok, he’s probably the worst of them all. Patrick watches snuff films and all kinds of gruesome films for fun. When you brought it up to his attention, he was more than happy to show you what he liked and explain to you the different methods of torture and what part inflicted the most pain. Even if you’d throw up, Patrick would keep the film going, mesmerized by the screams telling you “It’s actually not that bad.” But he’d let you hide into his arm, clenching onto it as you did so, but there was no way to hide from the terrorizing screams and Patrick's chuckle throughout it.
Leatherface: Honestly always checking up on you through every scene. Bubba doesn’t even want you to watch the scary films, he would think you were too pure for them, ironically. If you insisted though, he’d let you, holding you close to him and giving you space to hide if you needed to look away, which seemed to be often. Bubba would be ready to turn off the screen at any moment, one arm wrapped around you and the other one with the finger on the off button. He too would let you watch cartoons with him after. Bubba would offer you your favorite junk food or candy and let you snuggle into him while you laugh at the new pictures on the screen.
Harley Quinn: Is SUPER into horror. Laughs at the screams and blood splatter “Y/N! Y/N! Did ya see that? Did ya see it?! Let me rewind it.” Harleys a bit clueless when it comes to seeing your discomfort at first, but then when she notices you keep flinching or looking away, her expression immediately changes. “Oh my god Y/N? Are you afraid of this? You shoulda said something pumpkin’!” Immediately cuddles you and keeps you close to her chest, changing the channel to a Disney movie. Harley would be THE best at comforting you, squeezing the near life out of you to keep you comfortable and your mind off of things. Lots of comfort food, honestly.
Poison Ivy: Isn’t necessarily obsessed with horror movies and gore, not very interested in it either but she doesn’t mind playing the exorcist for background noise. If you’re not obviously telling her that you’re scared or you want to play something else, she would pick up on how you would react. Flinching at certain moments in the movie, looking away from the screen constantly, all things Pamela would notice, putting two and two together, she’d turn off the TV, telling you simply “What a trashy movie, let’s go play.” And would lead you into the bedroom for some TLC. Pamela’s love language would be physical touch and she would make sure you would get enough of it to fall asleep to. She’d make a mental note to stay away from horror movies with you.
Bruce Wayne: Never was really big with horror movies to begin with. Bruce grew up with musicals and operas, he was cultured in filmmaking, but horror never really made a mark in his interests, mainly because of the real life horrors he had to face already. Of course Bruce picks up on everything, noticing your reluctance in watching any more of this movie, he decides to nuzzle you into him, not saying a word and changing the channel, or taking your hand to lead you out of the theater. After all, Bruce knew what it felt like to be afraid. Expect a ton of tender touches and soft kisses.
Jason Todd: Sweetest energy tbh. Whether your watching a scary movie as a group or together, his reaction would be similar in both scenarios. As soon as he’d feel your palm in a cold sweat he’d look for your reaction, even if you try to brave through it, Jason would pull your face into his chest, kissing the top of your head. ‘What a bullshit ass movie.” He’d mumble while subconsciously caressing the back of your head. “You’re being brave dollface, but you don’t have to be.” He’d whisper to you and give you a squeeze. ”Come on, let’s get out of here.”
Billy Hargrove: Notices instantly, but wouldn’t want to call you out on it. Instead he would also pull a stunt like Pamela. Telling you “This is kinda tacky, let’s leave.” And would lead you out of the movie theater, turn off the TV or leave whatever house party you were at. He’d make sure to never let you go, holding your hand, keeping his arm around your waist as usual, always being protective of you. Billy would make you feel safe enough to tell him what happened and what was wrong and why. He’d actually listen to you, being quiet for a moment, letting it all sink in, then comfort you by telling you “That’s nothin’ to be embarrassed about,  I had a few movies that scared the daylights out of me, but you know I’m never gonna let anything happen to you.”
Steve Harrington: Knows from the start that you don’t like horror movies, he doesn’t either but he can stomach a lot more than you can. Steve was kind of taken a back when you insisted that it would be fine to have a movie night with your friends even though they planned a horror marathon. When the kill scenes would get severely worse as the movie progresses, you’d get more uncomfortable and at this point it seemed like an unspoken competition to see who could stomach more gore, you or Steve. Still, when you’d take a nap, shifting and shuffling around in the blankets, he’d know the movie maybe actually got to you. Steve would hug you tightly, caress your face when you’d drift in and out of sleep.
Steve Rogers: Would be such a big time caregiver energy. When you’d hide your face away in certain scenes, Steve would notice instantly, hugging you closely through the scene. If you kept showing discomfort, Steve would take you from the room, not offering an explanation to anyone. “Come on sweetheart, let’s go do something else” He never really understood the concept or horror movies, nor the appeal, so it wasn’t like he was missing out on anything. Steve would pick you up, letting you hide into his chest or his neck. He’d kiss your head, cheek and neck constantly, slow and full of love. “Come on angel, let’s watch something else.” He’d turn on the TV letting you chose any cartoon movie you’d be in the mood to watch.
Bucky Barnes: Also with Steve energy, he’d let you hide into him. He kind of understood the concept of the horror movies, even liked a couple but not to the extent those around you  both would like. His heart melts when he sees you pout and avoiding looking at the screen. Closing your eyes waiting for the screaming to stop, Bucky would want nothing more than to reach over and pull you onto him, letting you hide into him and tell you everything was okay and it was only a movie. When the movie would be over, he’d check up on you, making sure you weren’t still thinking of it, which more than likely you were and he wouldn’t hesitate to spend the night with you, letting you curl into his body, being three times your size and keeping you safe from whatever horror you saw today.
Wanda Maximoff: She would notice it the second scene in, the minute you hesitated to agree on a horror marathon with the team, she knew maybe you were a little bit more of a baby than she initially thought. She’d play it off with you as well, telling the team the movie seemed boring and that she just wanted to go to bed, she was tired. When the others would dismiss her, not paying much attention, she would look at you, who stayed sitting in silence. “Y/N? Are you okay? You keep nodding off, come join me, let’s get you to bed.” Wanda would be your saving grace and of course she would let you sleep in her bed, keeping you comfortable and safe in her pillow fortress and arms.
Loki Laufeyson: He’d always notice any sort of discomfort in you, knowing that you weren’t able to stomach much of the gory scenes but a part of him wanted to see how much you were able to handle. Loki would sit where he was able to look at you with just a flicker of his eyelids in your direction. When you’d all have a movie night, Loki would be the one to agree to watch something gruesome just to see you squirm in your seat. When it would be too much to handle for you and you’d have to excuse yourself, Loki would come to your aid when he would pass by your room to see you sitting on the corner, hugging yourself trying to erase the imagery out of your head by watching your favorite comfort films. “Y/N? How are you doing?”
Cloud Strife: He’s not very fazed by horror movies or anything of that sort, but if he feels you hide against him again throughout the movie, he would let you. He’d hesitate to put his arm around you, but if you snuggle into it, he’d squeeze you in. Because this seemed to be very unlike Cloud, snuggling into his torso would be the most comforting thing. Cloud would let you sleep with him if you admitted you were scared, letting you snuggle in under the covers with him, he’d drape an arm over you and keep you close as you drifted off to sleep.
Aerith Gainsborough: Not terribly interested in horror movies, but would watch a few just to spend some time. Aerith has quite the strong stomach compared to you and the rest of your friends. She could sit there and watch a full marathon with you guys no problem, but if you couldn’t handle it, she’d understand and take a walk with you, picking flowers for you on the sidewalk as she would try to distract you from the imagery from before. Her smile surely would help, Aerith would be the perfect person to comfort you for something that seems as silly as a horror movie.
Sebastian Michaelis: He’d seen it all, fear is not something he was very familiar in feeling, but he knew it came as second nature to the human species. If you were afraid of a movie or show, he’d find it amusing to see you worked up over false imagery when he had seen much worse, all real as well. Sebastian would still excel in his duty to comfort you, assuring you there was nothing to fear, since he would never let anything hurt you. Being cared for by him in this way did help, you knew he meant it and it was silly for you to worry about anything that was plastered across a screen.
Spencer Reid: Would be so wholesome, he had seen so much gruesome scenes, often inspiring many of the plots of movies you two were watching, but he knew to spare you the details. When Spencer heard you wanted to see a horror movie with him, he was surprised, letting you decide which one, but when it was too much for you, he knew right when to stop it and ask you if you were okay, not wanting to have you get nightmares for the next week straight. Spencer would soothe you, holding you close to him, letting you lay down onto him and snuggle under a blanket. He’d play something more wholesome, maybe a Disney classic in the background or some sort of comedy to keep your mind off the previous imagery.

hiii!!! can i request something for either matt or chris where they do like a sleepover at the triplets house and you’re all watching movies and it’s the classic like scary movie trope and maybe secret hand holding cos they like each other but are scared to admit it vibes
all good if not i love ur stuff hehe
Tumblr media
"Do we honestly have to watch a scary movie? Can't we watch Hannah Montana or something" Matt grumbled under his breath and Chris rolled his eyes, smacking his brother’s chest.
“It’s Halloween time ya baby. Plus, Yn and I have been wanting to see the new Halloween movie” You all sat on the couch, Matt squished in the corner with his legs straight out and you next to him, Nick next to you and Chris in the other corner.
Chris hit play and 'Halloween Ends' starts to play. You smile and shimmy a little excitedly, Matt throwing a blanket over you and him and a blanket over his brothers.
Matt kept jumping and hiding himself in your shoulder, making Chris and Nick make fun of him and you protected him. "Matt! Grow up you fucking baby!" Nick yelled and hit him with a pillow and Matt protected his head, and you wrapped your arms around his head and a leg around his waist as you shielded him.
"Stop! Stop! Scary movies aren't for everyone ya dickheads" You slap both Nick and Chris and they beat you with the pillows, and it was Matt's turn to protect you. "Alright! Everyone enough, I actually want to enjoy the movie"
Everyone sat back in their seats and Chris went back in the movie a little bit to watch what you all missed. You pulled the blanket over your chest so only your head showed, Matt's left arm behind his head with his right one underneath the blanket on his thigh.
His eyes shifted down to his thigh like he could see through the blanket, slowly moving his hand for his pinky to graze your knuckles. You moved your hand closer to his without taking your eyes off the screen, careful not to touch the blanket to blow your cover.
Finally, you guys interlocked your fingers without moving the blanket, no one noticing. Matt kept jumping, and every time he would squeeze your hand. By the end of the movie, Matthew was asleep on your shoulder, Nick asleep on Chris's lap while you and Chris were still very into the movie.
It soon had ended and you and Chris looked at each other, biggest smile on your face as you fist bump him. "That movie was great! I don't think it's the last one, though. They always say it is and then boom! another one" You explain and Chris had a 'meh' look on his face.
"I don't know I'm not a big fan of it. It wasn't about Michael is was about that goofy lookin fucker. When Michael was on screen, he was fucking dying. So I really didn't like it"
"Whatever, Chris, you're entitled to your own wrong opinion" You shrug and he shoves your shoulder and you gasp, jumping over Nick and pushing Chris to the couch.
Nick and Matt jumped up and Matt grabbed your waist, holding you tightly close to him as Chris laughs. "What the fuck happened while we were sleeping?"
"Chris assaulted me so I defended myself"
"Oh eat my ass you were telling me my OPINION was wrong. It's an opinion you idiot" Chris threw a pillow as you and you laugh. You yawned and fell back on Matt's lap, closing your eyes.
"I'm tired" You yawn again and Matt runs a hand over your hair.
"I'm way too tired to drive" Matt lies and you smile under your arm. Nick gasps and slaps your leg, and you kick his.
"Breakfast in the morning togetherrr!" He sings and you snort, sitting up. "Okay, Yn who you sleeping with tonight?"
"Uhm.."
"She slept in my room the last time, so I don't want her loud snoring ass in my room again" Chris complained and you rolled your eyes.
"She can sleep in my room, Nick likes to kick people off beds" Matt and you stood up and Nick threw his hands in the air.
"Y'know you kick a guy off a bed 4 times and suddenly you're a bad guy" Nick sighs and stands up, taking the empty bowls to the sink while Chris turns the tv off and you all head to your rooms.
"Too tired to sleep, hm?" You whisper and he smiles, pushing your shoulder softly as he passes you going to the bathroom. You change into a pair of his shorts and a shirt, sliding under the covers and plugging your phone in and shutting your eyes.
The bathroom door squeaks open and footsteps stop. "Alright, just make yourself at home" He jumps on you and you grunt, Matthew laughing and turning off the light. He plugs his phone in and turns over to face you, studying your features as you slept.
You peeked an eye open and giggled. "You're staring"
"Uh, yeah. Sorry, goodnight" Matt turned over and you stared at his back, smiling and biting your lip. You shimmy over towards him, putting an arm over his waist. Matthew smiled and held your hand, and the both of you quickly fell asleep.
