im glad y’all liked the other greek mafia thing here’s another i wrote but never posted bc i thought y’all wouldn’t give af:
i like to think as percy and annabeth get older and have more mortal friends (“friends” their kids have friends so they’re friends with their kids parents) that they like to have fun with the stories they tell
like i want one day they’re with one of their kids best friends house talking with the parents and maybe it’s a birthday party or smth so there’s a small group there
they have one of those hats with the balls attached your supposed to punch around and everyone’s taking turns until it gets to percy and he’s trying to humbly decline until someone (prob annabeth) is like “no balls” so he does and he’s insanely good so he makes annabeth do it and everyone’s like “no hard feelings if you can’t blah blah” and she’s even better then percy and all the parents are like in shock that these two randoms are so good at this game
so their all asking like why they can do this so well yada yada and at first percabeths like “well we go to the gym a lot..” “we were into a lot of sports growing up so we needed the hand eye coordination..” until they finally snap and percy’s like
“ok listen..you shouldn’t know this so don’t tell anyone but basically we were in the army for a couple years” and everyone’s like “omfg did y’all fight in iraq??” like hello ??
and annabeths like “well no…our parents just have a lot of power over in…greece..” and everyone’s like floored bc tf you mean GREECE like tf does that even mean ??
but they kinda leave it at that so everyone thinks they’re somehow tied to the greek mafia
especially when they hear percy or annabeth on the phone talking in what sounds like some type of tongues and then a couple weeks later they ask if the kids can spend the night because they need to go “take care of some things”
this is basically a different version of what i already posted but i thought it was funny lmao
Me reading the last olympian in sixth grade : Annabeth took the poisoned knife for Percy and he says the "no one touches her" line. I'm crying.
Me reading the same scene nearly six years later: Annabeth took the poisoned knife for Percy and he said the "no one touches her" line. I'm still crying.
Percy age 12: And if the mission required someone to push me down a flight of stairs for it to succeed… you’d want someone who won’t hesitate when they do it
that scene in tlo where thalia tells percy he can't start feeling sorry for luke bc luke made his choices. and thalia reveals that the reason they couldn't make it to camp in time for all of them to make it to camp was bc luke kept picking fights. and annabeth never saw this as wrong bc luke was her hero. so thalia had to pick up the pieces. and percy thinking both that luke was put in a cruel position and that luke was putting others in a cruel position. and percy is the only character who understood both sides of luke bc annabeth sees only the best of him and thalia sees only the worst. and that's why percy is the prophecy kid and the one who gives luke the knife. bc annabeth had spent the entire series essentially giving luke the knife when he didn't deserve it. and thalia was never going to give luke the knife. but percy is the only one who can see exactly when luke deserves the knife.
“why don’t they ever suspect Luke why don’t they realize it’s Luke why are they so quick to suspect Clarisse and not a Hermes kid”
guys, Luke is the perfect child. Thats the whole point! He gave his offerings he said his prayers he went on his quest he proved his loyalty to Chiron, to the gods, to his dad. And he did it all with a smile. They have no reason to suspect luke! Luke is the best of them!
Ares could’ve come to that meeting waving a big sign that said “LUKES THE LIGHTNING THIEF” and they still wouldn’t have believed him.
Because they also don’t want it to be Luke.
They love Luke. Luke takes care of them Luke protects them Luke is everything they want in an older brother. It doesn’t matter how blaringly obvious the writers get about who the real thief is. They will ignore every sign, every red flag, every warning, until Percy is dying of poison deep in the forest and Luke is gone.
i like to think when annabeth and percy get married percy takes annabeths last name
i feel like the name “percy jackson” has so much history connected to so much trauma and it’s known by so many monsters/gods alike that he’s just done with it he just wants a new beginning and takes annabeths last name to symbolize that
maybe they name their first kid jackson giving that name a new meaning
instead of jackson the name following destroyer attached to a killer of thousands of monsters a hero of olympus twice over its jackson, maybe just jack for short, a baby something of life a kid who gets to grow up a kid rather then a soldier someone meant to live not told to die
i like the idea that no one really thinks that’s gonna happen maybe sally jokes with annabeth that she’ll be the new mrs jackson maybe people even talk about the power that name holds (literally lmao)
then during one of the nights their planning their wedding they’re curled up together percy’s head against her chest getting ready for bed and percy confesses how much that name has haunted him
maybe annabeth confesses that she’s always liked her last name and though she didn’t care enough to fight against the name change she’s more then happy to keep it
maybe she’s the first person to call percy by that new name that night, whispering it against the top of his head
perseus chase, percy chase, mrs and mr chase
maybe it doesn’t roll off the tongue the same way but maybe that’s also the whole point
Annabeth: I, a child, had to earn Thalia’s love, that’s how the world works! I have to earn my moms love. Love is transactional, you gotta be worthy of it first silly :)
