What are some characters you'll like to see interact more that hasn't done so much in the series?

Oooo ok this is tricky and the second I post this I'll probably think of more!

I listed a few duos I'd like to see explored more a while back! I'm a bit lazy to go back and link to it now but I remember wanting to see more Dazai and Kyouka, Fukuzawa with young Yosano after she'd just been brought to the Agency, Aya and Akutagawa, and my favourite joke duo, Odasaku and Adam. Here's a few others I thought of:

Gin and Ryuunosuke: Please let them interact in canon. Please. They are literally siblings.

Margaret and literally anyone: Please. She has such an interesting set up. Where are we going with her? Can we elaborate on her situation? Her story? I just want her to interact with characters beside Nathaniel. I'd love to see her encounter Akutagawa again actually... could be really interesting.

Wells and literally anyone: Bring her back... I miss her... :'(

Mushitarou and Ango: ...me and the three other mushiango shippers crying for more of them... (but really I just think they're an interesting duo. *slaps both of them* these two can fit so much grief and regret)

Aya and Jouno: I'd like them to meet up again. I just think they could have a neat dynamic, with Jouno having faith in her without needing to know of her capabilities, simply because he knows she (and any civilian) would be underestimated. Also, both with the whole "justice as a choice" thing. Idk. Something there.

Chuuya and Atsushi: PLEASE. I need to see it so bad. Why have they not directly interacted yet? It seems intentional to me.

Naomi and Dazai: We get hints that Dazai actually teaches Naomi tricks and strategy advice. I'd like to actually see it!

Mori and Fukuchi: They were both at Tokoyami Island during the war! They may have actually met before this!!! I hope we elaborate on this soon. ...also I want both Fukuzawa's exes to meet and for there to be drama because it's funny to me. Bonus points if Mori shows up while Fukuzawa is still bleeding out on the ground. Old man yaoi showdown... (I am kidding :P)

Teruko and Natsume: These two authors had a real connection! Teruko was a student of his. I'd love if they pulled that into the series somehow!

Natsume and Agatha: OKAY, so this is based off irl Natsume's real exchange to Britain he went on. He hated it there lol. That's why I'm hoping for interactions between these two… and I hope they cannot stand each other. Maybe something happened between Natsume and the Order of the Clock Tower and they parted on bad terms. They meet again and the two are just all smiles as Agatha pours tea and Natsume rests his hands on his cane and they think of how much they wish they could laser beam the other to death. Idk. I like the concept tbh.

And these are just silly and self-indulgent:

Sigma and Tsujimura: if Sigma turns out to actually be Ian Fleming, I demand they meet and have a Bond-esque secret agent adventure.

Katai, Kunikida, and Higuchi: my dream crack trio that definitely makes no sense but I can't get it out of my head. I can't explain it ok I just think it's funny if Katai, after the Gin debacle, ends up with two overworked blond friends who check in to make sure that he is still alive under his futon. I need to emphasize though that Higuchi is far from her usual polite or professional and is just so done with Katai all the time. Katai still can't manage to make proper eye contact with her or have a full conversation. Nobody understands how they are keeping in touch or why. Also important you know that Kunikida and Higuchi have this weird frenemies dynamic where they are rightfully suspicious of each other for being on opposite sides but then feel like. A sharp pang of sympathy in their chests every time they hear about the crap the other has to deal with. They both shit-talk Dazai and can rant for hours. Katai is left standing there like 😥. It's basically just the "two teenaged boys" post, where Kunikida is the (comparatively) gentle "oh did you just wake up", Higuchi is the "OPEN UP FUCKNUGGET" and Katai is the guy who answers the door past noon still in his blanket. I know it makes no sense. Let me have this.

... bit the bullet and snagged the last couple armor pieces I'll need for Flourish AU Mai Trin, so as long as I save up enough gold -> gems I'll finally be able to get her made next character slot sale. :)

Still Though #LL has a lot of issues with derailing and replacing characters' personalities and where they realistically built from #but setrákus is fascinating because he has VERY strong continuity of character right from the start of what we see of his life #the writers did a really REALLY good job of 'he was such a shy quiet boy what happened for him to end up this way'#probably to some degree unintentionally; but it has a massive *amount* of intentionality to it #compared to a lot of others; at least it vibes that way to me #it helps that like clockwork almost every single fucked up thing he does and builds his life around #is a combination of trying to process his issues by retraumatizing himself #and directly replicating what happened or was done to him or what he thought was wrong; while trying to rebel by doing the Exact Opposite #the things he says and does are all *incredibly* revealing once you know the basic patterns to look for #it's refreshing and really fascinating to take apart #anyway yeah my brain has been pretty much entirely fixated on that or philosophy stuff or recovering from back injury stuff lmao #LL tag

two seconds away from being that person you follow who is inexplicably obsessed with M*A*S*H, a TV show from the 70s about the Korean War

#will tag if i go on a reblogging spree obviously but i've been watching it a lot while ill and man #like don't get me wrong. this is probably the worst show i've ever seen as to how it treats women #and there's a whole character whose joke is 'dresses like a woman so he'll get discharged through section 8'#(and I was talking to my [former miltary nurse] mother and was like 'WHOA all this uh. all this stuff is pretty yikes huh'#and she was like 'no yeah that was actually pretty normal for the miltary in the 80s' so OOF)#but there are some gold nuggets amidst the dirt #it is exceptionally an anti-war show that deals with a lot of 'well what is this all for'#for example i'm watching an episode where the US side shells a friendly village #no hesitation the main leads condemn and report it and it's just. i know the bar is on the floor. but i feel like in any modern tv show #there'd be much more bellyaching and 'oooo bigger cause'-ing

ngl kinda frustrated with some of the arguments people make for disliking fitz cause like- some of them are so nitpicky?? like you could dissect every single thing every character in the series has said, and i guarantee you could come up with a reason that over 40% of them are actually horrible things to say and these characters are horrible people. everyone always gets so worked up when people talk about disliking any other character. it’s just fitz that no one gives a fuck. like leave people alone ffs.

No need to apologize, Nonsie! I think your assessment of people's treatment of Fitz is accurate. It's like everything he does is being approached with bad faith, expecting the absolute worst of him so all the things he does are turned into things that can be used against him when it's actually not that serious at all!

You're right, we could absolutely come up with reasons why everyone is horrible in the series! Remember how mean Wylie was to Sophie? He probably still hates her but she healed his dad so now he's being nice, but he's just using her. Dex? He's so pushy and insensitive. Remember when he gave Sophie crush cuffs? Like "hey I like you so I think you should announce to the world that you like me back even though I have no proof you do" come on it's disgusting (to be clear these are exaggerated examples I don't actually think this way). That's how some of the arguments sound to me, looking for a way to spin every single action the worse way possible to use as more fuel against him.

You don't have to like Fitz! You don't have to like any of the characters and that's okay! But when you go out of your way to vilify someone and have these bad faith, weak arguments heavily influenced by your own distaste, please don't be surprised if people don't take them seriously. And don't take it out on them either or insult people for liking characters you don't.

All the other characters are generally loved with a few criticisms here and there, but when it comes to Fitz there's a very different vibe. People say they dislike Fitz and it's like it's no big deal, but you say you don't like Dex or Linh? That's going to get such a different reaction!

I think it's likely a lot of it is fueled by the love triangle and Fitz is the unfortunate casualty. Dex was part of it, but he never really had a chance, you know? So instead he became this sweet victim of it, retaining all the love people held for him. But Fitz was more of a real consideration, so he garnered a more severe (and in my opinion, undeserved) reaction.

It's frustrating to see the difference in treatment between Fitz and the other characters. I love Fitz! It's okay if you hate him, but please let those of us who like him enjoy him in peace without trying to spin him into this selfish, entitled villain. It really doesn't match with who he is.

Given the lack of formal measurement for Bitchness (neither derogatory nor affectionate), ranking itself will be vague; flying quick n fast here!

ALSO this turned out to be a really good exercise in figuring out character … design? Development? Like I really had to think about some character personalities and it was fun + satisfying to do, so extra thanks for sending this

(as standard putting everything below the cut)

RANGER THE FIRST (it’s been a while since I’ve actually played thru this one so YMMV)

Billy – Uhhhhhh yeah sorry I don’t remember much of him :[ I’m gonna say he’s low on the Bitch ranking, mostly because I remember him as being the eldest brother of the four more than anything else. Sorry Go Rock fans who have put lots of thought into character interpretation

Garret – Via Bulbapedia: Garret is a smooth, polite person that can "put people down with the simplest of words". I’m gonna say he’s not a Bitch all the time but when he is. When he is. High on the Bitch scale

Clyde – I remember him getting angry a lot, so not too high on the Bitch ranking, but at least medium/mid ranking on the jerkass scale? Bulbapedia says a he’s a very "cool" person that likes to "stay with the trends" so I’m gonna say he’s alright

Tiffany – Top Shelf Bitch here, but in a way that’s like. You know how you see articles about celebrities who have like… the weirdest and craziest drama with each other that really hammers home how the more rich you get the more wildly disconnected you get from general society and have REALLY weird notions about how the world works?? It’s like that. Spending time with her is like depending on the day it’s either incredibly entertaining, fascinating, or irritating. Sometimes all three at once

Gordor – Medium on the bitchness, high on the jerkass?

Again sorry it’s been a LONG time since I’ve played though Ranger The First I don’t really have extended thoughts/impressions. I’ll play it again soon and maybe get back to this

RANGER THE 2OOST

Ice – Not too high on the Bitch scale, but has about equal standing on the Jerkass scale. Low + low = medium Bitchness? Bitchness Main Game + Jerkass DLC?? IDK but he called me a n00b so I want to see Kate shove his head in the toilet. Give him a swirly

Lavana – This is The Bitch of Almia. THE high school mean girl in every early 2000s coming of age popcorn flick. The kind of girl who would’ve probably bullied me on the playground in school for being undiagnosed autistic + closeted queer + got most of my clothes from Goodwill. Girl who thinks she is All That but is at best Incredibly Basic. Heather Chandler kind of bitch. Contender for the most Bitch of all the PR villains

Heath – Not actually that much of a Bitch or a jerkass. He does his job well and has the confidence to go with it! Good for him

Kincaid – High on the Bitch scale. He’s that One Fucking Boss/Teacher we’ve all had who was born with a stick up their ass, who knows how much of a position of authority he has over you and lords it over you. Hypocrite central. Ranking him somewhere just below Lavana though

Wheeler – low on the Bitch scale, but makes up for it by being high on the Annoys Me and Is Generally Offputting scale. Probably has little concept of personal space

Blake Hall – self absorbed Bitch in the way standard CEOs are (see above: celebrities/rich ppl disconnected from reality), probably paid an exorbitant amount of money to keep some company drama from reaching reporters. Nothing too fancy to see here

RANGER THE THIRDST

Red Eyes – I’d say he’s pretty low on the scale of pure Bitch, but he’s medium to high (depending on the day) on the Jerkass scale, so that makes up for it?

Blue Eyes – I’d say her perceived bitchery is around Medium, but in actually is pretty low? I feel like she just has a lot of conflicting emotion and no good outlet for it, so she ends up lashing out and making some less than great decisions at times. she’s consistently shown to be genuinely concerned for the people under her care, and you get glimpses of her nicer side under her tough front a handful of times, so while she gets bonus points for having a cultivated Bitch front, I’m putting her on the lower end on the Bitch scale

Purple Eyes – You know, as much as I deeply want to say he’s high on the Bitch scale, I don’t actually think he ranks that high. Like, DEFINITELY through the roof in other categories, definitely petty n spiteful, a little judgy, but all around … he’s just Not at the top of the Bitch ranking. I’ll put him around medium, with the caveat that he is simultaneously beating out everyone else in other categories (dramatic, sadistic, etc) EDIT: yknow i keep thinking abt this one and i'm resorting the blorbo to medium-high on the scale, as a treat

Arley – putting him a few notches above Hocus only because he verbally states he has grudge against you when you go up against him in the Sky Fortress, something like “if I’d known you were going to be such a problem when we first met in Rasp Cavern, I would’ve crushed you there” so I’m going to say he can be … unfortunate to deal with if you’re an enemy, but most of the time is just a mild-mannered to mildly grumpy old man

Hocus – least Bitch of the Societea, and just in general; I think he’s a decent guy who doesn’t hold too many grudges, but does like to mess with people’s heads, friend and foe. Gaslight gatekeep girlboss and all that. I'd say he and Clyde are the least bitchy out of the whole listing

Kasa – I think I’ve said this before in tags or something, but Kasa moving to Aqua Resort was like dropping a lionfish in Florida waters. Highly invasive predator who dominates the ecosystem. Queen of backhanded compliments and passive-aggressiveness. Average rich old lady who has her finger on the pulse of the gossip in her small shoreline New England retired neighborhood (based on the neighborhood my grandmother lives in). Contender for the most Bitch of all the PR villains

Edward – Ranking him a few notches above Hocus but not at Kasa’s level. He states that despite thinkin about crimes most of the time, he wants to do a little good in his life (being a doctor). Generally nice guy, but DID blow up an island. Kicks Purple Eyes to the curb in spectacular fashion, but deeply distressed when friends went MIA?? Actually you know what probably has very specific rules about what kinds of tea you can drink when and with what. Medium-low Bitchness but excels on the Typical Old Rich British Man Behavior scale

Sabios – WHOOPS I forgot this guy existed for a minute. Hold on let me go find Youtube videos with his scenes. OKAY I’m back. Verdict: No bitches? Low on the Bitch ranking, high on the Evil Advisor ranking

the way people are once again removing all the nuance and moral greyness and complexity out of the last of us, but especially joel miller’s character is kinda concerning lol

Are there any songs (or other media) you associate with DBD characters?

Ayyy hi Lowkey, ty for the ask! Or asks if but I'm getting this one done because I've left you waiting for a hot minute lmao.

A song I've been listening to a lot recently that I can't pin to an exact character, but kind of fits DbD really well to me and I felt would be worth putting here as well is COUNT THOSE FREAKS by Whitey. Good chunk of the lyrics fit really well imo.

For DbD characters, I have a decent handful actually! I've made some playlists for them. I'll share a couple! Unsurprisingly, I have a decent chunk for Claudette, and for Philip too.

For Claudette, two I associate heavily with her are Quiet by Lights, and Plant Life by Owl City.

For Philip, I have Hollow by Cloudeater, Black Cat by Never Shout Never, and White Face, Black Eyes by AJJ. I have a WHOLE lot more for him that I feel really fit him, but I'll leave it at 3 for this.

For other characters, Nightmares & Flare Guns by Seb Adams is a song I feel really fits Quentin, Ghosts With Heartbeats by Plastic Patina I associate with the Nurse, Leopard by Jack Stauber I associate with Ace, and After Party by Air Traffic Controller is a song I heavily associate with all of the Legion.

Sharing music is something that's actually very personal to me, and something I really enjoy doing, especially with people I am on good terms with and really like, or want to get to know better. just people with good vibes to me ig? I've only rly described it right once, because it's very hard to place, but music is very important to me, and I always enjoy sharing it with people I think might enjoy it, or at least give it a shot, even if it might not be their thing. Feels like sharing a piece of my soul, kind of. I dunno lol.

I read so many wonderful, hot, gut-wrenching, unforgettable, inspiring Pedro Pascal character fanfics... and I haven't been reblogging them 🫣 (it's me, hi, I'm the problem it's me). Don't hate me please - reblogging gives me so much anxiety, and I'm not even sure I could articulate why if I tried - and I see a lot of the discussion/discourse/posts re: reblogging and I truly understand all perspectives although it just seems to elevate my nerves about even more.

However, I understand the impact and moreover, I want to do it for the writers that bring me so much joy and inspiration, so I endeavour to try. I want to make it clear that this is a personal hang up of mine, and I have 100% absolutely no comments on how anyone else engages here; reblog/comment/like or don’t per your own preferences and you have nothing but love from me 😘

So it will be a 2024 personal goal of mine to be less shy about reblogging, but while I work up my courage/practice, I wanted to go back and compile a list of some of my fave Pedro boy fics; I think of each and every one of these fics often and have revisited them all (i.e. Exactly the fics I should have reblogged when I read them). Could I request the brothers + side characters reaction when mc turns into a goose? I was thinking something like mc turned into a goose due to Solomon messing up again, and they act like the goose from Untitled Goose Game, but cuddlier. Like they are still a little menace, but also want to be pet and cuddled.

A/N: Sorry that I’m so late!! I was just caught up in a lot of things and forgot this was in my drafts oof. I also changed a few things up just to be a little silly (and also bc I didn’t want to write the personality of duck MC here). Anyway, I decided to divide this into two parts; one for the brothers and the other for the side characters. Enjoy!

At first, he’d have fun with it, teasing you by picking you up randomly when in private

Even going so far as to sit in his lap while he pets you

But then he’d look for a way to fix it

And eventually he does, much to everyone’s protests

He’ll miss the times when he sets you in his lap and feeds you your favourites, but if you can be more helpful to him in your human form, he’d prefer that

Besides

He’d like to see your face instead of that of a duck

Mammon

Oh lord

Is he ever about to get in trouble

He’s no doubt teaming up with you to steal money

I mean

A duck?

In the Devildom?

Now THAT is about to attract a lot of money

He’d probably set up an attraction where lots of demons and demon-kin alike get to meet and pet a real goose

I feel like at the end of it all, even if Mammon did get a lot of money, you’d be exhausted

Because you already know you were out there for hours getting pet by so many

You need to recharge a bit

And that includes a lot of pets from Mammon

And a lot of cuddles

You know he’s going to be so happy to oblige

Levi

Unlike Mammon, he’s not going outside of the house

So you don’t have to worry about that

He’ll set you in his lap while he’s playing video games and he’ll let you time to time between bosses

Hell, he’ll even give you a controller to play with him if he’s feeling extra bored

And it baffles him how you win every time

Because a duck? Beating him? That’s impossible!

But he loves it

He’d lose to you again and again if it meant holding you in his lap like this

No but seriously, he’s getting into mischievous trouble with you in tow

He’d probably start by making cursed illusions of you but they all have different personalities

For instance, one could be kind and gentle while another could blow up the house

But while your illusions are causing havoc, the real you is resting in his lap as he reads a good book

He’s running his fingers through your goose feathers, practically preening you

He finds it relaxing how he can just pet you and sit back

If he’s honest, he hasn’t been reading his book for the past half an hour

He’s too busy adoring the way you shake your feathers in response to his pets

He finds you irresistibly adorable

Asmodeus

You already know he’s going to put you in cute little outfits

Doesn’t matter how much you hiss at him, he’ll find a way to put some sort of sweater on you

Once he does, he squeals and gets out his phone, taking a selfie with your very-not-amused-goose-face

This is not the first outfit he’s putting you in though, he’s putting you in sparkling pink and blue dresses and cute little tuxedos

He’s also putting some big, fluff coats on you

You’re not getting out of his sight no matter how hard you try

You just have to hope he gets bored

But let’s be honest here

That’s not happening

Beelzebub

Beel is pretty chill when he sees you all snuggled up beside his pillow, minding your own business

At first, he didn’t know it was you so he just kinda left you alone, thinking that you were another one of his brother’s crazy pets

Only when you had followed him out to the kitchen did he start to catch on

And once he does know it’s you, he’s carrying you everywhere with him

To the kitchen, the common room, the gym, RAD, or even the Demon Lord’s Castle

It doesn’t matter

As long as you’re in his arms, he’s happy

And if you want, he’d give you a few snacks as well

He doesn’t mind

And honestly? He’d get a bit sad when you return to normal

He got used to carrying you around :(

Belphegor

You can get he’s not moving unless he has to

So you’re his napping buddy until he’s forced to get up

He’d hold you in his arms and cuddling you as he sleep talks

Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you can escape his grasp and sit on either his back or his stomach

When he wakes up, he’s so confused bc his sleepy brain is thinking-

“Why is there a duck on me?”

And then he remembers that it’s you and he bundles you up in his arms again

He looks away when your duck wings flap in his face but he starts petting you when you settle

He’ll stay awake to pet you despite the pull of his sin that makes his eyes flutter closed every now and then

But he enjoys it

And when you return to normal, he’s in your arms fast asleep

Originally I added the bandages to mirror my real hands being covered in Band-Aids when I made my sona. :0 (It was due to cat scratches and dry skin don't worry-)

Now they represent my "artist hands".... and my still really dry skin XDD

Oh yeah absolutely. His crab arm is so heavy that if he falls into the water he'll sink 😬 he cant move it fast enough to help him swim to the surface.. good thing Blue Beauty is always nearby! <XD

It also takes a lot of energy to move and he deals with sore back/shoulder muscles a lot. The way the crab arm formed, its like all the muscles in his back are used to lift and operate it. When he walks around he kind'a uses it as a crutch or a third leg. His legs each take a step and then his crab arm lifts forward and clunks on the ground.

"tap tap.. CLUNK. tap tap.. CLUNK."

Despite all this though, Louis still really likes his new arm and isn't bothered much by all the hardships it brings :)
