I'm a diehard Stucky shipper and I think the chemistry between Sam and Bucky is at least as strong as between Bucky and Steve, albeit in a different way. That relationship has so much potential and What If would have been a perfect place to explore it. But instead of Sam and Bucky bantering and bickering their way through adventures in the multiverse, we get Peggy Sue Saves All the Universes! I only hope that this is all a big red herring to trick us, and that Marvel has something incredible in store for Sam’s Cap. Unfortunately, though, they have a track record of treating the good characters with disrespect while elevating the arseholes to hero status.  

Sam and Bucky's relationship was definitely the saving grace of TFATWS. Probably the reason it makes sense for us as the audience to see Bucky hanging out with Sam so much is that we've seen in previous movies that Sam's morality is pretty much the same as Steve's. If we are to assume Bucky not only grew close to Steve because he was a sickly kid who got bullied but also based on the fact that he was good and righteous and fair... then it makes sense he would end up gravitating towards Sam as well. And their banter is hilarious.

That's perhaps the reason why it's such a hard pill to swallow to see Marvel acting like Saint Maggy is the female Captain now, since we know (because we've seen it, cause they wrote it that way!) that her morality does not match with Steve's nor Sam's or Bucky's. Those three are cut off from the same cloth.

We didn't get much about Sam in the series, so What If could have given him more time to shine. An ep focused on him, or Riley, his experience in the army, an ep where he's the one to break Hydra's control on Bucky instead of Steve... The options are endless and What If is supposed to be exactly that. But from what I've been told (I haven't seen S2), What If has become an excuse to push Saint Maggy down our throats. They changed the parameters of the series, but I didn't see a big push to bring her character back, so they just did it to... what? Outshine Sam?

We've seen a few female replacements for previously male heroes (Kate, Riri, She-Hulk, Jane). None of them try to be the female version of the male heroes. But with Captain Brexit? They have scenes in the series that are a literal copy and paste of the dialogues in the movies!! All Steve scenes, of course.

All that while Sam doesn't have one single scene as Captain America in the series (he was given the shield five years ago) and at least in one ep Bucky is used and discarded afterwards while the "heroes" of the episode do nothing to help him. Yikes.

To end this on a positive note... Cap 4 was delayed for 2025. That's plenty of time for them to see the reactions to What If, the ratings (I don't know if they were good or not, my petty side is hoping they're awful) and maybe, just maybe they'll learn their lesson that the MCU audience wants Sam Wilson as the is the only Captain America in Marvel.

Streets are saying Cap 4 is going to be called Captain America: New World Order, but New World Order was the name of the first ep of TFATWS, so I doubt that’s going to be the real title… it’s likely some sort of fake out 🤷🏾‍♀️

i like peggy carter and captain carter a lot (on anon cause i dont wanna get hate for it) but it does really annoy me that the mcu is almost completely ignoring sam. tfatws was great and we got sam as cap officially in the last ep...then crickets??? no mention of him in anything at all. it's ridiculous.

captain carter and sam's cap could easily coexist with cc as the alternate universe cap and sam as the main universe cap, but the marvel is treating him is awful.

if you went on anon bc i don't like peggy then pls know i'd never hate on u for liking a character!

i like captain carter in what if a lot more than i like peggy from tfa, but i digress.

sam IS cap, and they need to do some sort of actual promotion and shit like that, bc im sick of people saying that sam isn't cap. and to say he has to PROVE HIMSELF? no thank you.

Aloy had sat patiently during the feast in the palace. Every morsel in sight had been scarfed down. The guests had all been thrilled to feast and drink, as well as be in each other’s company. Droves of people had fought their way to shake her hand to thank the ‘Savior of Meridian’. And she hated every second of it. Aloy wasn’t used to praise of any kind, and definitely didn’t consider herself a hero.

Omg hi!!

Honestly I didn't have a great week last week and I slept horribly on Friday night, but I spent the day with my mom yesterday and that helped! Today I plan to gif for a bit, make some yummy food for the week, and start my new puzzle that I got yesterday.

Honestly having a Time trying to think of three qualities to describe myself lol, but i guess I'm pretty patient/laid back, i am really passionate about the things that i enjoy, and i absolutely love learning new things!

To answer your other questions: My favorite colors are Purple and Yellow and I want to be best friends with Nick Miller from New Girl lol.

I was a child in the 80s so most of the shows I love from that decade were children's shows like Fraggle Rock, Inspector Gadget, Saved by the Bell, Gumby, etc lol. My favorite 90s shows were definitely The X-Files & Dawson's Creek. In the 00s I was super into reality TV. Like it was almost all I watched. I was really into all the VH1 & MTV reality shows, I loved competition shows like Top Chef & Project Runway etc. It's funny because I hate reality tv shows now lol like you cannot pay me to watch them, but man was I into them in the early to mid 00s. I also was/am a huge fan of the sitcoms from the mid 00s - early 10s like The Office, Parks & Rec, New Girl, etc. Then from like late 00s through now I love so many TV shows lol. It's hard for me to differentiate the decades from late 00s on but I just love TV shows lol. Basically if it's Queer and has well-written female characters I am going to probably love it lol but I'll check out most new shows if the premise seems interesting!

Ok so I started slacking on the Disney + MCU shows so I've only seen Wandavision, tfatws, loki & hawkeye. And then the first 2 eps of moon knight but i barely remember them cuz i was so sick when I watched them a;skj;. I honestly absolutely loved all of the ones I've seen so far. I'm gonna have to put tfatws first because I am nothing if not a Sam & Bucky stan. then i think it's Wandavision > Hawkeye > Loki, but like I said, I legitimately loved all 4 of them.

Namor is probably the best phase 4 villain.

Gorr would be great if so much of his role wasn't left on the cutting room floor.

Wanda was frightening from a spectacle perspective, but having her be corrupted offscreen and her growth in WandaVision be rendered all for nothing just makes it harder to take her seriously, and I can only ask myself, "Okay, but she IS gonna become good again, in time? 🤔" and "What's the next Wanda writer going to do to redeem Wanda from this dumpster fire so she can be a hero once more?"

And Wenwu, well, to quote Screen Junkies, "while an emotional, expertly-choreographed martial arts showdown between father and son is cool, isn't it way cooler when a bunch of weightless polygons smash into each other? No? Then why does it keep happening?!"

Taking a look at all the villains in Phase Four I'd say the thing that surprises me the most is that most installments in this Phase are so forgettable.

Let me preface this by saying I don't remember anything about Shang-Chi 🤷‍♀️

NWH: The villains work but only thanks to Raimi & Webb's movies.

BW: Dreykov is fine if only for the implication of his work but we didn't have much time with him

Eternals: Ikaris, I guess? Meh, couldn't take him seriously

MoM: Ruined Wanda. Stupid plot and arc.

L&T: Gorr the butcher who only butches one god in the entire film

WF: Namor is great, thank you Coogler.

As for the series...

WV: I liked Agatha, she appears in most eps, well done.

Moon Knight: I don't give a damn about Ammit but omg Harrow, hell yeah, he's awesome

TFATWS: What Disney did to the Flagsmashers is laughable and honestly quite pathetic

Loki: Do I need to say anything about this one... TVA? Pfft

Hawkeye: Cool build-up, poor execution. Fisk is... meh. He's ok.

WI: The final ep is fine but I don't get the line-up for the Guardians of the Multiverse. It's so damn confusing.

I haven't seen the other series.

When you see it like this it's not a good look. They shouldn't have rushed it so much, an entire phase in one year? No wonder I barely remember what happens in these...

Spellman is writing Cap 4 with Anthony, Anthony said so in an interview. He won't let us down

Hey, anon! I must’ve missed that - what interview was it? I only see one writing credit for Anthony on IMDB and it’s from like 2006. Or, do you mean that he’s writing it with Anthony in the sense that he’s “brainstorming” with Anthony about what he’d like to see happen for his character? Because I’d wager that all actors mention things they’d like to see for their characters, but tptb probably only take it with a grain of salt…

I know Dalan Musson is writing Cap 4 with Spellman, but since he wrote ep 5 of TFATWS which isn’t entirely awful, I enjoyed like have of it, but it has that Sam/Isaiah conversation and I have some problems with it, among other things, so I don’t have much faith in Musson.

Anyway, yeah, if it was up to Mackie, I wouldn’t be worrying like this, but Spellman and Co already betrayed Sam and his fans once, so I’m concerned…
