Unexpected Angel (Finale)

On Monday, Carrie smiled and made her way to Marinette's desk, but she wasn't there. She looked around, but no one else seemed to be concerned. Carrie saw one of the girls that Marinette usually spoke to her and made her way over.

"Felicia, where's Marinette? I haven't seen her yet." Carrie whispered, "Was she fired or something?"

Felicia giggled, "Marinette? Didn't you know; she's the lead designer for the Wayne collection. She was moved to a secure room to start working."

'What? That litle high schooler was a designer? How did she get to work on the new collection?'

"Isn't she a little too young?" Carrie questioned.

Felicia looked at the secretary confused.

"No. I'm pretty sure Bruce and Tim had to pay a pretty penny to get her to come here from Gabriel and Paris." Felicia stated, "She's had her own clientele since she was thirteen; all big names, too. I heard Tim was such a fan of her work and that's why he wanted her to work here. I mean, he would have access to her and could ask her to make a set of his own clothes, too."

Carrie smiled and quickly walked away. She couldn't believe that her new go to had been taken away. She knew no one there would listen to her. She would have to do all her work on her own. She hated it.

Carrie smiled as she was called up to the top Wayne offices.

'This could be it! A promotion!'

Carrie smiled as she was brought in front of Bruce, Timothy and Damian Wayne.

"Carolyn Briggs, you are fired." Damian declared.

'What?'

"E-Excuse me?" she stuttered out, "Is there layoffs? Have I done something wrong?"

Tim smiled and asked her to look at the monitors. Curiously, Carrie turned to the screen on the wall. She watched in horror as she watched herself force Marinette do her work for the last month. They even had the audio of her calling their designer: useless, waste of space, irresponsible, and doubting how she was hired. The next thing she knew, she was slapping Marinette in the face.

"Security saw it happening on their monitors and brought it to our attention a few weeks ago." Bruce spoke up.

"We thought Marinete would come forward, on her own." Damian declared.

"When you assaulted her, we had to take action." Tim explained, "Marinette Dupain-Cheng is a huge asset to this company."

"This obviously isn't the first time you have pulled this sort of stunt." Bruce continued.

Again, Carolyn watched in horror as her 'relaxation period' came up. They had video eveidence of her sitting around and doing nothing. She sat at her desk filing and painting her nails. They showed her proof of her going back to her old department and flirting with her old supervisors. She shrunk in on herself as her screen came into view and they saw her purchasing things online, on company time. It was even more humiliating to watch her run to the printer and try to copy the papers that needed to be done. Finally, the Waynes showed her crying in an empty room. Carolyn had mascara running down her face, as she blamed Marinette for getting yelled at.

"It shouldn't take five years for someone to figure out how to work a printer." Tim stated, "Most people get the hang of it after one month. We have every right to take you to court and sue you. You would have to pay us back all the money you earned over the last five years."

'There's no way I can pay all of that back.'

"Or" Damian spoke up, "you can take being fired and leave without a word."

Carolyn stood up from her seat and walked out of the office. She grabbed a box from the fashion department, where her boss said nothing. Likely, the Waynes had told him already. Carrie cleaned out her desk, quietly. No one stopped her to ask her what was going on. They were too busy running around, pulling fabrics, or sewing.

Carrie took a step off the elevator. There was Marinette talking to one of the tailors. Before she could utter a word, she spotted Damian Wayne walking over to Marinette. The tailor quickly left, as Damian handed Marinette a coffee cup.

"Oh, thank you for the coffee. I really needed it." she smiled, " I didn't know you worked here. Thank you for the advise. I got all my work done and I didn't stress out. Even my boss said I was doing better. I don't have to force myself to eat anymore."

"And your sleep?" he asked.

"I've been sleeping later, but feeling more refreshed. I'm also getting so much done." Mari answered, "So, will I get to know you name this time?"

"Another time." he stated.

Marinette smiled, "Maybe another cup of coffe? It would be nice to have a friend in Gotham."

"Perhaps." the young Wayne replied.

Satisfied with his answer, Mari walked towards the elevators on the other side of the room. Damian turned towards Carolyn and glared at her. She quickly rushed out the doors of Wayne Enterprise.

'They were protecting her. If those rumors really were true, I would have been found out eventually.'

What do you guys do about harassment and overcoming fear online?

genuine question.

I am an artist. I want to make things and post them. I am scared to make things and post them because I don't want to be canceled over something I didn't even know was a real problem nor do I want people to target me. I don't mind judgement, the real fear is constant dog piling and harassment that stuff may bring. how do you guys cope? do you just ignore them? I am autistic and I barely understand how people work and what is entirely socially acceptable, so advice would be appreciated!

as a visibly-jewish, neurodivergent non-passing trans woman, my relationship with kiwifarms is kind of like Picard’s relationship with The Romulans in ST:TNG

im scared they have so much intel on me, im surprised they “respect” me to the extent they do, im grateful they arent actively attacking me Right Now and worry this peace cannot last, and i ultimately look down on them for their brutality & cruelty.

meanwhile kiwifarms looks down on me for being a different species than them, but “respects” me as being One Of The More Interesting Ones Of That Species, and continues to scour the galaxy for more intel on me, some of which is inaccurate. also they refer to me with words that reflect their disdain for my species.

i think ultimately it would be dangerous of me to attempt to curry kiwifarm’s favor. their website is primarily a hatespeech & harassment site, that has literally bullied people into suicide. they see me as an entertaining plaything, not a person, and i am probably one online post or personal crisis away from becoming their torture-subject. but i do sometimes find myself wondering what their reaction will be to my online posts, mainly because they follow my online presence closer than even my actual friends & family. they talk about my work in VERY complimentary terms, which tempts me to think of them as fans, but i cannot allow myself to do that. it’s too dangerous. theyre frickin kiwifarms

i think it would probably be better if i didnt know about them. kiwifarms, if i could have one request: could u completely hide yourself from me, and only continue following my existence from where i cannot see you? i can literally google “petermobeter” and youre like the 2nd or 3rd result. if i was a member of an uncontacted tribe, and u were a group of anthropologist documentary filmmakers, id be like “hey, strange people? please move, youre scaring the fish.”

Shaye Freeman Moss, a former Georgia election worker who was a target of a conspiracy theory spread by former-President Trump and his allies, said Tuesday that the allegations against her “turned my life upside down.”

Moss appeared before the House Select Committee proving the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, and fought back tears as she talked about how the harassment campaign against her upended her life in the weeks after the 2020 election.

“It’s turned my life upside down. I no longer give out my business card. I don’t transfer calls. I don’t want anyone knowing my name,” Moss testified at Tuesday’s hearing. “I don’t go anywhere with my mom. I don’t go to the grocery store at all. I haven’t been anywhere at all. I’ve gained about 60 pounds.”

“I don’t do nothing anymore. I don’t want to go anywhere. I second guess everything I do. It’s affected my life in a major way. In every way. All because of lies,” Moss continued.

Rudy Giuliani, who served as an attorney for Trump in his bid to overturn the 2020 election results, claimed in an appearance before Georgia lawmakers that Moss and her mother, Ruby Freeman, were seen on camera passing a "suspicious USB drive" while counting election results in Fulton County, Ga. He insisted the two should have been questioned and had their homes searched for evidence.

In a call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, then-President Trump brought up Moss 18 times.

Moss testified on Tuesday that her mother was passing her a “ginger mint, not a USB drive," during the video portion in question.

Moss’s mother, Ruby Freeman, told the Committee in private testimony aired Tuesday that her life had changed as well. She was conscious of using her full name and concerned about who might hear if she were out at the grocery store.

“Do you know how it feels to have the President of the United States target you?” Freeman said in her deposition. “The President of the United States is supposed to represent every American, not to target one.”

I am harassed daily online, on every platform, for simply supporting Amber. I don't go "looking for trouble", I may tweet something about her on Twitter, post a photo on Instagram, or simply comment on a YouTube video that she is shown in, but whatever it is, if I say something positive about her, I am bombarded with replies and messages saying the most awful things (rape threats, murder threats, etc.).

Supporters are sent photoshopped images of Amber dead or her baby being killed. If we manage to get a pro-Amber hashtag trending (not an easy feat since we don't pay or use spambots to do so), Deppstans will jump in and use it to bash Amber and us; or they will counter it with a negative hashtag in retaliation. They search us out to bully us and it's disgusting. We try to ignore them, block them, and report them, but they just keep coming. It never ends and the platforms have been no help in stopping them.

I've only been experiencing this for the past 3 months because that is when I became invested during the VA trial. However, for many other fans and supporters, and for Amber herself, this has been going on since May 2016 when Amber filed for a restraining order. The immediate backlash was swift and has been unrelenting.

This does not only extend to fans and supporters, but to every single person or organization that Amber has ever come into contact with. Her family, former friends, charities that worked with her, actors that have appeared with her, trainers who worked with her once, and reporters that have interviewed her in the last 2 decades, are bombarded with the same harassment. Heck, even Johnny Depp's own daughter, Lily-Rose, has had to endure this along with us, all because she deleted her support for her father. They come after his own kid. 😞
