thank you 😊 since i'm feeling generous here is some advice for anyone that needs it 🩷

a lot of this depends on if you know them online or irl, but here are some that helped me a lot:

-Look up usernames and irl name if you know it

-If you have pics of them or just any pic they sent you of whatever, reverse image search them, maybe they posted it somewhere else

-Analyze the background of images they're on or they took

-If you're looking for their location, use google maps. Useful af

-Take notes if you dig something of them up, it will help you recognize them online (interests, past experiences, hobbies etc)

-Look at post history obviously

-Check precious usernames and how long they've been using that account and when they registered

-If you find an account that you're unsure of if it's really them, keep that saved too, it could be an alt

-Look at their comments and interactions

-Note down everything. Everything. Make a txt file where you write these, or keep a diary, or save their social media links in a folder or do whatever but i can't stress this enough, somehow, someway, save or note them.

And a ranking of websites based on how good i think they are for cyberstalking:

amazing:

twitter, reddit, facebook

Twitter is especially amazing because you can't hide your likes or followings, you can see a pretty clear post and commen history, just like with reddit. Facebook, if you want to get to know more about their family, personal lives, friends and stuff like this.

ok:

instagram, snapchat

Nothing special about them, good for when you wanna find out what they're up to but not dig up anything too personal.

ehh..:

tiktok

Could be useful but profile views are a huge disadvantage, and since there's no way to tell if they have it on or not you'll just have to take a wild guess and risk creeping them out.

no:

pinterest, tumblr, spotify

Unless you wanna know what interior design they like, pinterest is useless. Same with spotify, unless you wanna know what type of music they like it's useless. Tumblr is kinda dead tbh.

I wouldn't usually do this, but I think this warrants a post.

Two of my friends, @autistichalsin and Mish, have been harassed on multiple platforms. @autistichalsin has been harassed since November last year - six months. Mish, since January/February. Mish has been harassed off Tumblr and twitter. AH has been harassed into silence on twitter, and retains a low profile here on Tumblr.

I've compiled an overwhelming amount of evidence. It runs from sexual harassment, to abuse-mocking, to rape threats, death threats, and mocking their abuse. In the crossfire, their abusers have harassed an innocent person (whom they believed was AH) until they had to go into hospital. This abuse has caused mental anguish, breakdowns, suicidality and severe stress and trauma.

This abuse began over AH making a bad 'fix them' joke and immediately apologising. However, the real catalyst was the fact that AH has written fiction which covers dark issues, such as SA, rape, and abuse. Their abusers have repeatedly spread the lie that AH is a paedophile because they discussed baby-fever in omegaverse tropes, they've been labelled a 'rapeliker', 'rape fetishist' and other vile things - as has Mish - for daring to write a fictional story. Claims against AH include lesbophobia and harassment, and yet no such evidence for these claims exist.

Mish has had her former work as a journalist, working with SA survivors, called into question and mocked. She has been slandered, called a 'rapeliker/rape fetishist' for defending AH. All of this evidence can be seen in the multipart twitter thread I put together. I was done with seeing these two people getting bullied. AH has been on private since January 1.

If there is one thing you do today, please pass this on. Send AH(Sammy) and Mish your good energy, your love, your appreciation. Because despite all the disgusting abuse they've faced, they're both incredible humans. Creative, intelligent, caring, compassionate.

This is my twitter thread. Bear in mind that the abuse detailed here may be highly triggering to some. Further, it's split into multiple parts because twitter broke the thread multiple times.

All of this abuse is occuring within the Baldur's Gate 3 fan community. It is the worst abuse I have EVER seen, and that's saying something - I've been handling daily death threats from antivaxxers for a long time.

Please show your care. And show that abusers and bullies should be exposed - we don't harass them, we don't hit back, we simply put their own words out there, so they can be seen.

Hey everyone, heads up that cartoonist Abigail Zero has been cyberstalking and threatening me, my partner Kimball @earnestattempts, and our families for about a month. They've escalated things to outright blackmail and extortion, and spreading heinous lies about us to compromise our income as disabled people.

In the past you may have seen us trying to help them find housing, and vouching for Abigail as a roommate. Although we believe they have every right to safe housing as a human being, we can't vouch that they are a safe roommate any longer. We will never speak to them again or read their frequent abusive messages for our own safety - this warning comes from a friend who checks them for outright threats. We deeply apologize if we put anyone else in danger.

If you've receive any accusations about either me or Kimball being thieves, pedophiles etc, I strongly recommend you not engage and block. If you have any concerns about the contents of the messages or for your own safety, please feel free to reach out.

It's not the first time I've experienced cyberstalking so I'll manage but I really wish it didn't keep happening. I have posted about it before and I promise I’m not beating a dead topic. Turns out my cyberstalker did in fact get hold of one of my blog roll posts and followed blogs they previously hadn’t latched onto, they accidentally (or purposely) liked a post of mine from their current hub and I identified @ofthebones as being their OC and the avatar picture that previously outed them once before. DO NOT approach or interact with them, DO NOT make yourself a target because they will do the exact same stuff to you. Obviously I have them blocked and if I get any weirdness I’ll follow my normal pathway of locking down IMs, not allowing anonymous asks and escalating as far as I need to for my blogs to remain a safe space.

Their first blog name was @yzrch and they religiously followed Genesis and Sephiroth blogs to seek roleplays without being upfront about what they wanted until PLATONIC bonds had been established. All along they wanted a version of hardcore not safe for work that I am uninterested in, I personally do not write porn for the sake of porn there needs to be a deep connection for me coupled with writing with a trusted partner. I note this because it seems they have resurfaced again, this is a small post of my own that reflects what I went through at the time and this is another post from a completely unrelated blog which shows what kind of person this cyberstalker is. After the fact they created a new blog under a new name, were just this extremely sweet person to chat with and eventually I gave them my discord because they pretended to be someone else. I had no reason to question this new person until they revealed themselves with a red flag and a new discord avatar that outed who they were. That was a fucking insane lived experience let me tell you.

It’s unfair behaviour to follow someone maliciously, let alone for six years. This person had an irrational reaction to me roleplaying with other people. They were incredibly rude regarding other female OCs my Genesis blog had interacted with and when I said I was no longer interested in writing with them because of their behaviour they went nuclear and created new blog after new blog to keep bypassing blocks so that they could say increasingly nasty shit and it thoroughly ruined my experience with roleplaying Genesis (their obsession) and I took some years off Tumblr to instead write with my best friend on Discord. Slandering other writing partners was the climax, there was weeks to months of them alluding to roleplays I wasn’t comfortable with, I expressed my discomfort, but they kept ignoring that and talking in circles trying to force something. That was six years ago and they still keep tabs on me and evidently want to somehow be back in my circle for reasons unknown.

I felt like I couldn’t connect my blogs and when I finally do that, they resurface and pull their shit again. And for a long time (even now) I felt anxious about forming connections with other writers. Me holding people at arms length isn’t a you-thing it’s a me-thing. Hell, BLOCKING people which is the most rational step in a bad situation is also a crime but also seen as a challenge to some people.

So when blogs post things like please don’t bypass a hard block, it isn’t because all of us are “🥺👉👈 shy” or “we don’t know how to communicate”, it’s because we know what a shitshow looks like and we don’t want a repeat.
