Chapter Two
"Man, are you sure we won't get caught?" Eijiro said, following Katsuki reluctantly to the girl's side of the dorms.
"We will if you keep complaining so loud shitty hair!" Katsuki barked back at him.
"Sorry, I'm just nervous, you know?" Eijiro said in a much quieter voice.
"It's fine, trust me," Katsuki reassured his friend. "Besides, they both miserably failed and got caught by Iida last time so- it has to be us to sneak over this time," Katsuki explained as he hit the button for the girl's elevator.
Eijiro laughed at the thought of the girls getting scolded by Iida for trying to sneak into the boy's dorms, "It makes it easier that both of our girls are on the same floor, hu?" Eijiro said, smiling at his friend.
"I guess. It doesn't matter either way. We're not going to get caught like they did!" Finally, the elevator dinged open. However, to Katsuki's and Eijiro's surprise, it was not empty.
"Oh, um- hi," Shoto greeted the two boys, surprised to see them waiting for the girl's elevator.
"The hell are you doing here, Icy Hot?!" Katsuki asked.
"I'm just leaving from studying with Yayarozu," he answered.
"Studyinggg~ right," Eijiro said, laughing.
Shoto looked at Eijiro, confused by his statement.
Katsuki let out an annoyed huff, "Well, get out of the damn elevator then," he demanded.
"Oh- actually I forgot to give her back her book so- I was going to go back up," Shoto said, holding and pointing to a book in his hand.
"Well, guess we are all going up then," Eijiro said, cheerfully stepping into the elevator.
"Ugh- fine," Katsuki groaned and stepped in.
"Where are you two going?" Shoto asked as he waited to hear what button to press for everyone.
"None of your damn business!" Katsuki yelled.
At the same time, Eijiro politely said, "Fourth floor please."
"God damn it shitty hair!" Katsuki yelled.
"It's fine- I'm not going to say anything," Shoto said. "But um- what are you two doing up here this late?"
"Studying!" Eijiro answered too hastily, voice filled with anxiety. However, Shoto didn't question the two boys' motives any further.
"The fuck?" Katsuki remarked as the elevator stopped and dinged on the third floor.
"Oh- someone is getting in," Shoto mused.
The three boys stood uncomfortably in the elevator as the doors opened and revealed Denki on the third floor.
"Ohhhh~ hey you guys! What are you all doing here, hmm?" he said, giving the boys a wink.
"Shut the hell up and get in Dunce Face!" Katsuki yelled.
"Why are you acting so weird?" Shoto asked.
Denki just laughed and entered the elevator, then glanced over at the buttons.
"Hmm ok, so the fourth and fifth floor. I think I can guess what rooms everyone's headed to," He teased.
"Hey man, don't make it weird, ok?" Eijiro pleaded.
"What's weird about studying?" Shoto asked.
"Uh," Denki murmured, but before he could make a comment Katsuki intervened.
"Where the hell were you anyway?" Katsuki asked.
"I think it's only Jiro and Hagakure on the third floor, so- my guess is Jiro?" Eijiro said, turning to his friend.
Before Denki could confirm or deny, the elevator opened up to the fourth floor.
"Finally, I can get away from you morons," Katsuki grumbled, but before he could step out, Izuku came from around the corner and crashed into him.
"THE HELL?!" Katsuki hollered.
"Oh! Kacchan! I'm sorry!" Izuku said, apologizing frantically.
"The fuck are you doing here, nerd?!" Katsuki questioned.
"I was just leaving! I was um- studying with Uraraka!" Izuku explained.
Denki laughed, "A lot of 'studying' going on tonight hu?"
"UH- I guess so. Is that why you're all here?" Izuku asked.
"Yep! Just um- about to get started," Eijiro said, laughing nervously and rubbing the back of his neck.
"It's kind of late to just start studying, isn't it?" Izuku asked.
"Yeah, don't you think you guys should get some rest for training tomorrow?" Shoto asked.
"Are they for real right now?" Denki asked, holding in his laughter.
"Tch, probably," Katsuki exclaimed.
"Wait so- you two," Denki said, pointing to Izuku and Shoto, "Were actually studying?"
"What else would we be doing?" Shoto asked plainly.
Before Denki could make any more comments, the boys heard a loud bang followed by-
"Almost there, the forbidden lands~"
"Is it just me or- did that sound like Mineta in the vents?" Denki asked, looking between the boys.
"He never stops, hu?" Izuku said exhaustedly.
"Fucking perv!" Katsuki yelled and stalked over to the vent. "Yeah, that's him in there... Hey! Half and Half, heat up this vent!" Katsuki demanded.
"Won't that hurt him?" Shoto asked.
"Tch- nah it'll just teach him a lesson," Katsuki replied.
"Yeah besides, it's super unmanly to try and spy on girls in their private rooms," Eijiro convinced Todoroki further.
"I suppose you're right," Shoto said as he moved closer to the vent and shot some fire down, heating up the vent red hot in the process.
"OW!" Minoru's scream came ringing out of the vent.
Katsuki, Denki, and Kirishima burst out laughing.
"LAUGH ALL YOU WANT I'M CALLING AIZAWA AND BUSTING YOU GUYS FOR BEING AT THE GIRL'S DORM SO LATE!"
The boys exchanged glances with one another.
"BACK IN THE ELEVATOR GO!" Eijiro yelled, and they all hurried back in fear of being caught by Aizawa.
"Oh, this is bad!" Izuku exclaimed shaking in the back of the elevator.
"Come on Dunce Face! Press the fucking first floor already!" Katsuki yelled.
"I'm rushing, I'm rushing!" Denki said frantically, but as he pressed the button, his anxiety overtook him, causing him to pop off his quirk. A loud buzzing sound went off as the doors closed to the elevator and the lights shut off.
"YOU SHORT CIRCUITED THE ELEVATOR DUMB ASS!" Katsuki yelled.
"OH CRAP!" Denki yelled back in response.
"You guys! We are going to get caught!" Eijiro said, panicked.
Shoto sat in the corner of the elevator calmly.
Izuku panicked, mumbling to himself, "What do you think Aizawa will think? Surly, we were just studying so- that's fine, right? But it is 9pm, he might think that we were up to no good like Mineta bu-"
"SHUT UP NERD!" Katsuki barked.
"Hu, this is worse than the girls getting caught by Iida don't you think, Bakugo?" Eijiro laughed, finding comedy in the situation now.
"I'm going to murder every last one of you," Katsuki grumbled as he sat down on the floor, accepting his fate.
The other boys shrugged and gave in, waiting for their inevitable punishment from Aizawa.

Shoto couldn't name a time on one hand when he had been genuinely surprised by something. Having the childhood and school life he had, almost everything received the same impassive glance or the arch of an eyebrow if it intrigued him. But absolutely nothing would've prepared him for what he saw as he turned the corner of the agency parking lot at the sound of glass shattering.
It was a rather dull afternoon, having been in and out of meetings all day. His suit feels too tight, not comfortable enough for him to just be sitting around in his office whilst he's signing off on the paperwork his sidekicks had left on his desk that morning. He huffs, leaning back in the large plush office chair, thighs spreading to try and alleviate some of the uncomfortableness of having his muscles confined in the expensive stitching of his suit.
The meetings weren't of any real importance, all managerial but necessary he supposed. The agency was going through a reshuffle of staff, ranging from heroes who worked underneath Shoto, all the way down to the janitors. He doesn't know exactly why he was asked to attend the meetings but he didn't put up a fight, he didn't have anything else to do anyway.
His head of two-tone hair hits the headrest, eyes staring up, bored, at the plain ceiling. Maybe he could just go and change into his hero suit, and go on a short patrol. At least then he'll have something to do, something to occupy his mind outside of the meaningless paper that sat strewn across his dress.
With a new goal in mind, Shoto nods and stands. Long arms stretched above his head, the seams of his white dress shirt threatening to burst when his biceps involuntarily tense up with the stretch. He's hardly one step around the desk when his work phone rings, and he pouts a little. It's a childish thing to be pouting at the fact they might be keeping him in the building for longer, but he relents. Picking up the phone, a monotone "Shoto here—".
"Sir, there's a disturbance in the parking lot at the back of the agency." comes the voice of his assistant, sounding rather out of breath like he had to run.
"A disturbance? Can't someone else—" Shoto tries, running a hand over his face at the idea of dealing with something like a fight in the car park of all places.
His assistant huffs, not seeming to have the time for Shoto's ability to brush everything off. "No," the man nearly hisses, "Apparently there's someone down there with a weapon, people are scared." and now Shoto is frowning, a weapon, really?
Shoto sighs, running that same hand back up his face and through his hair, before he's swiping up the fancy black suit jacket off the back of his chair and shouldering it on, phone held between his shoulder and ear whilst he pulls it up. "Fine, I'll be there soon." and he hangs up, his assistant just heard sighing in what sounded like relief.
He doesn't waste time then, just in case it is an actual villain who somehow managed to worm their way through his security and into the parking lot. His sidekicks give him side glances as he makes his way out of the office floor in long fast strides, fixing the collar of his jacket when he rounds the stairwell that leads directly to the parking lot.
As he grows closer and closer, he can hear the sound of something. It's pretty loud considering he's still in the stairwell, but he's certain it sounds like something is being broken. A quick shove of the door that leads outwards makes the sound ten times louder, and now he can definitely hear the sound of glass being hit with something hard, and repeatedly.
He's running now, seeing a crowd just at the corner as they gossip and gasp with each.. grunt? can he hear someone grunting? His eyebrows furrow, not able to picture just what's going on until he rounds the corner and makes his way past the crowd that all wordlessly part for the tall Todoroki.
Shoto can't quite believe what he's seeing, eyes owlishly blinking and lips slightly agape at the scene in front of him. Right before him is a woman in just a pair of leggings and a baggy-looking hoodie, a baseball bat wrapped up tightly in two hands before it's being brought down with such force on the black sleek car that the bonnet dents, the windshield has been absolutely destroyed. Multiple holes from where the bat has made contact. There's glass everywhere, shattered into what must be millions of pieces and he's pretty sure that's a wing mirror on the floor—
Wait.
That's his car.
That's a woman, destroying his brand new imported black Mercedes-Benz.
He's absolutely stumped, muscles locking into place as he tries to take in the whole thing. He definitely doesn't know this woman, he knows he hasn't done anything to piss someone off this bad. But he can't fucking help his eyes from drifting from the damage to his car and locking onto her face, she was so beautiful. Even with the nasty scowl on her face, eyes wide with vivid rage and hair messy beyond belief from the exertion it's taking to destroy his car.
A loud gasp catches his attention again, the sound of the car beeping finally reaching his ears and he's pushing forward until he's crunching on the glass. His hands untuck from his pockets, not yet activated with his quirk but ready just in case this goes south.
The sound of crunching catches your attention, your head snapping up and your eyes take a second to focus on the red and white blur in front of you until you register his mouth is moving, and those mismatched eyes are just as wide as your own.
"...What?" you ask, hands wringing against the metal of the bat in your hands when you squint a little at the man, who registers belatedly that he is in fact Pro Hero: Shoto, No. 3.
"I said, put the weapon down and no one has to get hurt," Shoto repeats, calmly, and his palms open in front of him to prove that he's not going to use his quirk on you if you just hand it over. He can see the debate behind your eyes, the way you glance at the destruction that lays just in front of you before your eyes meet his again. His muscles tense up, locking up and ready to pounce—
The clanging of the metal bat bouncing off of the floor and rolling along the floor makes his stance relax just slightly, he makes his way around to the bat and rolls it off somewhere behind him with his foot whilst his eyes never once leave your face. Your eyes are all puffy like you'd been crying for hours.
He casts a glance over towards the crowd, who all make themselves scarce at the frown he gives them at wasting time on the clock before he looks back at you and tilts his head with a question. "Want to explain to me why you did that?" he makes sure to keep his tone calm, and impassive, he doesn't want to make you feel worse than you already do.
You sniffle, rubbing a fist over your nose as you meet his gaze, quickly darting it down and at the destroyed car. "Asshole fucked over my best friend," you finally admit, and Shoto is once again confused. Did he fuck someone over? Is he the asshole here?
Then you say the name of one of his sidekicks, and he almost wants to sigh a breath of relief. So he wasn't the cause of this apparently 'well-deserved' outrage, so you say.
"—then when I found out he was just some sleazy sidekick working under a big shot hero," you stop yourself mid-sentence, seeming to remember that you're ranting to that same 'big shot hero'. You sheepishly glance at Shoto, who just has an eyebrow arched at you for a second as he debates on what to say.
He sighs, "I'm sure it was well deserved. It's a shame that's not his car," he supplies, shrugging a little when you go wide-eyed and gawping like a fish out of water at the realisation that you destroyed some random persons car.
"It's mine."
And it's almost comical the way the blood drains from your face, how you look almost like you've seen a ghost as you stare up at him with glassy wide eyes. He waits for a moment, to see if you'd make a move. He expects you to try and make a run from the crime scene, but instead, you start crying. Big, fat tears that are streaking down your already sodden cheeks, and you're heaving in heavy breaths.
"I-I'm so.. s-sorry!" you try to breathe out, eyes barely open as the tears just come and it makes Shoto uncomfortable, but not in the way most would think. It makes him uncomfortable because he can feel the tightness of his pants worsen a little more at the indecent thought that passes through his brain at lightspeed, a thought of what you'd look like if you were crying whilst bouncing on his cock, begging him to make you cum after he denied it so many times.
It's a perverted thought, downright disgusting but he can't help but entertain it a little when you sniffle and rub again at your nose, now facing him and you're pleading about something, blubbering about you'll repay him back—he knows you can't afford it—but he lets you cry about it.
He wonders what it'd be like having you pleading for his cock.
Your movement snaps him from the thoughts fogging his mind, you're digging around in a bag that he didn't even notice you had. His eyebrows furrow until you try pulling out your purse and he frowns. You really were going to try and pay him off, he doesn't even care about the destruction of his car. It's not like he's lacking in money, and even if he was he's sure he could pull the youngest child string on his father and get a brand new one.
"Don't worry about it," he lays a cold hand directly on top of yours as you try to pull out what looks like hardly 13,000¥. You freeze at the contact on your hand, marvelling for a second at how his hand feels like it's been dunked inside of an ice bath. "You can repay me by letting me take you for dinner tonight."
You blink up at him, big and owlish, trying to process the words that he had just said. His face is giving away nothing, it's hard to tell if he's joking or being genuine but the way his eyebrow furrows just slightly and his lips flatten into a line tells you he's expecting an answer. You fumble for a second, hands stuffing the money back into your purse and you miss the look on his face at the loss of contact when you look down to zip up your bag.
"You're serious?" you question, and he nods in return. "Oh. Uh, well, sure?" he sees you're hesitant, he doesn't blame you for thinking that it's a prank or a trap of some kind. Any normal person would've had you arrested for the destruction of property and demanded you pay up.
He licks his lips, eyes finally darting away from you and towards his car. His hand that was once in contact with your own curls into a tight fist at his side when he speaks again, "Give me your number," he contains the wince at how blunt he's being, he remembers the speech Izuku gave him about being so straight forward towards women in the past but he can't help it, he's just met you and he wants to have you pinned beneath him already.
You don't hesitate in pulling out your phone, and offer it up to him once you unlock it. His fingers brush against your own, a shiver subtly shooting up along your spine. Once the details are exchanged, he doesn't say much else other than telling you he'd text you when he's going to be picking you up and a quick "Dress nice." before he's turning away and disappearing behind the door that leads upstairs.
...
Shoto: Just wear something nice, it doesn't matter too much. It's just dinner.
A single text message that had been haunting your mind the entire evening as you prepared to meet with Shoto again, he really gave you no time to even really think about it or find something "nice" for this supposed "just dinner", you felt horribly underdressed. Having a few dresses for going out was one thing but having to dress up for a pro hero, the number three at that, was an entirely different issue. He was rich, everyone knew that and if that fancy car that you trashed this morning was anything to go by - it'd be safe to say he was rolling in it.
So here you were, standing in front of your apartment building looking like an idiot. The area you lived in wasn't a bad one compared to others but you still stood out like a sore thumb, you had pulled out one of the "nicer" dresses you owned, in truth you had only really ever worn it when you went out with your friends on nights out. It stopped around midthigh, tight around your waistline and accented your cleavage but you still felt like some two-bit hooker stood out in front of your building whilst you waited for the pro to arrive.
Pulling your phone from the small purse you had brought, you swiped through it absentmindedly, going through text messages to ensure you were actually the one on time - you were, Shoto was just taking his time. You pursed your lips a little, lip gloss shining in the pale light that was coming from the overhead street light before you felt a rumble in your chest, it made the hairs stand up on the back of your neck and goosebumps ran wild along your arms as you lifted your head up from the screen that was illuminating your face.
Your eyes watched as a black, clearly very expensive, sports car rolled up in front of your apartment, the engine roaring as it rolled to a stop just in front of you revealing Shoto who was quick to get out of the driver's side. His hands came to his jacket as he buttoned up a single button and made his way around the front of the car, white and red hairs swept back beautifully with gel. You could tell just by the stitching on the suit that it cost more than your yearly pay grade, he looked handsome.
He finally came to a stop in front of you, his lips filling with a smile as he looked down at your dress. He couldn't help the thoughts that floated through his mind, the way your legs were mostly exposed and how good your breasts looked. You'd be the death of him tonight. "You look beautiful," he offers finally, words coming from his mouth so easily it surprises you. You couldn't stop the heat that rose to your cheeks at the compliment, he said it in such a soft and slightly lower tone, his eyes were drinking up your form completely.
Your eyebrows shoot up, giving yourself a glance down before looking back up to meet his gaze. "Thank you, you don't look half bad yourself." you smile gently, a gentle chuckle coming from somewhere deep in Shoto's chest.
He let his fingers wrap around your hand softly, guiding you a few steps back towards the car since you were still frozen in the spot. You subconsciously squeezed your fingers against his hand as he came to a stop and stood with you at the door of his car, he leaned in a little close which made your breath hitch until you heard the click of the car door, opening it up for you.
You let your hand drop from his own, still blushing and hoping he couldn't see how his words and actions were affecting you. You slipped into the car, letting the soft plush leather of the seats melt against your exposed skin as you watched him close the door and walk around the front of the car, the headlights highlighting his suit and the glint of a very expensive-looking watch on his wrist as he adjusted his suit jacket once again.
Shoto relaxed into the seat next to you, his hands barely moving against the steering wheel as he started to drive so effortlessly like he could shut off his brain completely and be fine with it. Your eyes narrowed slightly to the now visible wristwatch since his jacket sleeves were slightly pulled up from him holding onto the steering wheel, your eyes slowly wandered along his suit then, admiring the stitching, the colours, everything. He was exquisite, you could see exactly now why the magazines fawned over him so much.
"So about that sidekick," he started, eyes meeting yours for a split second before he continued to focus on the road. You blinked out of the very obvious staring stupor you were in, your eyes quickly darting to look forward at the road. "I spoke with management, we're pretty happy with dropping him from the agency. We don't need someone like him on our team. Apparently, we'd had a few reports about his behaviour in the last couple of years but no one had ever brought it up to me."
Your silence prompted him to look at you once again when he stopped at a redlight, eyebrow arched at your wide eyes and slightly parted lips before they curled into a gentle smile. "Thank you." was your reply, meeting his gaze again and Shoto swore his heart began to beat faster, fluttering in his chest at the sight of such a pretty smile directed towards him.
His fingers tightened around the leather of the steering wheel, his mind at war for a second as he soaked in the gentle look you were giving him. He wanted to devour you. The flickering of red to green snaps his eyes back to the road, and his foot presses firmer on the pedal. He can't stop the raise in temperature of the car when his minds flicker to the dress you're wearing, how good it would look with it all bunched up at your hips whilst you ride him—
"Shoto?" you break his train of thought, and he blinks in surprise to find he drove completely on autopilot to the restaurant parking lot. It wasn't overly populated, being that it was still the middle of the week. You say his name again and he finally glances at you, swallowing hard when he realises you have a slight sheen to your skin now from the temperature of the car, he wants to lick it off your skin.
"Are you o—" your squeak of surprise is muffled by the pro hero who seemed to lunge himself across the middle console, lips pressing hard against your own and you're frozen for a moment like a deer in headlights. But the second a cold hand lays on the side of your neck, long fingers curling into the hair at the base of your skull has you melting into the kiss completely. Lips parting in response to his movements, his tongue brushing against your own in a few delicate kisses before the hand tightens in the hair he was previously holding. You gasp, the sudden small shot of pain that danced its way down your spine and directly between your thighs had you completely pliant in Shoto's hands.
He was just hovering by your lips, huffing heavy hot breaths against your mouth as his heavy-lidded eyes scanned over your own. "Tell me this is okay," he pleads, almost a whine in his voice when he continues "If not, I'll stop right now and take you home." but the thought of being taken home, all horny and needy sounded like the worst possible idea.
"I want this," you breathe back, eyes rolling back when his lips drag along your own and down to your jawline. "Please, I want you so bad." and he smiles against your cheek, pecking a soft kiss against the fat of it before leaning back so he was once again at eye level with you. The slightly glassy look in your eye was making it impossible for him to control his thoughts, making it hard to hear the small voice in the back of his mind telling him to slow down. He just met you. But that all went down the drain when you moaned, it was quiet and breathy, but it was enough to make his stomach tighten and his mind shut off.
It all happened in one smooth succession, he leaned back just enough to pull on something so his seat shifted backwards and then he was pulling you over the console and into his lap. Both of your thighs were on either side of his own, your dress straining against the stretch but it was giving Shoto the perfect little sneak peek of what could be lying beneath. His hands stroked along your sides, marvelling in the difference in your size and his hands as his hands moved over the dips and curves of your body. He thought you were beautiful, a goddess he had managed to wrangle into his lap.
"God, you're so pretty," he muttered more so to himself, admiring the way your skin was pliant under his firm grip, squeezing in places to watch you writhe naturally down into his lap. "I want to fuck you." and the way he says it so bluntly, so straight to the point it has you clenching around nothing, dripping at the idea of having this man buried between your thighs. "Will you be a good girl and let me?"
Your eyelashes flutter, your gaze hazy at the sight of the man who's beneath you. The praise that rolled off of his tongue was so effortless, that you supposed made sense, everyone always said Shoto Todoroki was such a gentleman. With great effort, you manage to nod through the lust-filled fog settling heavily on your mind, but Shoto just clicks his tongue and a cold hand is spanking the side of your thigh.
"Words, sweetheart. I know you can use them." It should've been condescending, the tone he used, but it just made you even needier for the man.
"Please," you start, leaning forward so your lips brush against his own. "Please, Shoto, I'll be a good girl." and you're nodding as if to make your words more believable, and he does believe you. He knows you'll be a good girl for him if the way you're throbbing against his thighs is any indicator. His eyes nearly roll into the back of his head when you take the initiative to duck your head to the side, nipping and kissing along his sharp jawline and down along the pulse point in his throat.
His hips jerked upwards on instinct, rolling against the exposed expanse of the lace panties you wore and pulling one of the sweetest noises he had heard all night from your pretty lips. Your hands travelled the expanse of his chest, undoing the button of his suit jacket before your hands pressed hard against the muscles beneath his shirt. Your nails curling naturally against the prominent six pack you could feel, and Shoto couldn't control the shiver that rolled over his body nor the more harsh jerk of his hips upwards.
And finally, your hands landed on the bulge between his legs, delicate fingertips brushing along the hard length that was being painfully compressed in his trousers. He hissed at the way you pressed a little firmer against the vein leading all the way to the tip of his cock, making his hips jerk involuntarily once again. Shoto cracked open his eyes to meet your hazy eyes, and the smirk on your lips was enough to know you were having far too much fun teasing him.
But before he could air his minor annoyance at being toyed with, you were untucking the bottom of his once crisp dress shirt and undoing the thick leather belt, all whilst keeping your eyes locked with his mismatched ones. It was like he was entranced, letting your hands manipulate his trousers until they were open and your warm hand wrapped around his cock had him groaning deep in his chest.
He couldn't stop his head from hitting the headrest harshly when you broke eye contact to glance down at his cock, it was unbelievably pretty—the mushroom head an angry red from the harsh restraints and teasing, it was flushed a light pink all the way down to the mixture of red and white pubes that trailed up into a pretty happy trail. Of course, Shoto Todoroki, the most eligible bachelor in all of Japan would have the prettiest cock you had ever had the pleasure of holding.
The slither of spit that leaked from your lips and made contact with the tip of his cock made Shoto moan, actually moan, the contrasting difference between the white-hot skin and your cool spit. Then the way your palm covered the head of his cock, thoroughly spreading your saliva along his cock until you were jerking him gently, yet quickly. His eyes were locked with your own, his eyebrows pulled together in what would look like he was in pain but he felt euphoric. It wasn't often that Shoto got the chance to divulge his fantasies, never one to sleep around with the plethora of girls who threw themselves at his feet.
He wasn't going to let this opportunity go to waste.
So he slipped his hands along your thighs, fingertips digging harshly into the plushness of your thighs until the dress you were wearing was hiked up over your hips and he got a full view of the pretty lacy panties you were wearing. His hands automatically went to them, running his fingers down and around until he grasped the globes of your ass. "You wear these for me?"
You've pulled your lip between your teeth, and the gaze you're giving him through his eyelashes is enough of a confirmation. You wanted to be fucked. His hand left your ass for a second before you were pressing forward into his chest, hand halting on his cock as you gasped loudly at the sharp pain that radiated along the skin of your ass cheek before a cool hand was smoothing over it, instantly cooling the skin off from the harsh slap. "You're a secret little slut, aren't you?" he mumbles against your temple, taking a deep inhale of that sweet perfume you wore for him. For him, he realises, you did it all for him.
His fingers stroked along your hips again until one slipped between your thighs, gliding hot fingers against the wetness that had been sticking to your lips for a while now. He groaned alongside your soft moan when he found your clit, rubbing tight slow circles against it through the soiled material of your panties. "You're soaked baby, you must be so desperate.. hm?"
It's a rhetorical question, you know that, but you can't stop the pitiful nod of your head and the needy pout you give him when he continues to tease you through the outside of your panties. He must take pity on the way you're looking at him because those same fingers dip to the side and pull your panties out of the way, revealing the hot stickiness of your lips to the air. Shoto wastes no time in dipping those same fingers down through your wet heat, dragging the slick back and forth until it was stringy when he pulled his fingers back to tap at your clit.
"So needy." he chuckles softly at the way you writhe, trying to seek out his hand again that pulls away to cover your own that's still been tightly wrapped around his cock this whole time. "Don't worry, I got you.." is all he says before angling the tip of his cock between your thighs, the thick head spreading your lips apart effortlessly to coat himself in your fluids.
Your hand that was once occupied by his cock presses against his chest, curling into the material when he finally shifts just a little lower until he's breaching the tight ring of muscle that has you gasping, tensing your thighs up on instinct. Shoto struggles to choke down the groan at the sudden tightness wrapped around the tip of his dick, his spare hand coming down to rub a warm soothing finger against your clit to entice you into relaxing. "Relax sweetheart, promise it'll feel good if you just relax."
"Hurts, Sho'." you sniffle, and his eyes instantly dart up from between your legs and to your face to see the hot tears bubbling at your eye line. Your nose is scrunched up a little at the clear pain of next to no prep, but you're not giving up with the way you roll your hips subtly to help with inching him further into your pussy. "'s too much."
And fuck if you don't sound even better than how he imagined that very morning when meeting you when you were blubbering about paying for his car. He can't stop the way he bucks his hips up, burying the rest of his length deep inside of you with a deep groan. Your hands are curling painfully against his pecs, nails somehow digging into his skin enough to draw out thick red lines beneath the shirt.
He lets you settle on his lap, quivering against his chest with the odd sniffle as you just let him stretch you out. It feels like he's in fucking heaven, and all he wants to do is grab your hips and fuck up into you until you're creaming on his cock.
"Move, Sho'," you mumble against the dewy skin of his throat after a moment of relaxing around his girth, giving your own experimental roll of your hips which earned you a pretty moan from Shoto. His hands readjusted on your hips, thick long fingers hooking just under the crease of your butt to hoist you up enough so just the tip of his cock was buried in your plush heat.
And then he let go of the restraints, thrusting his hips upwards to meet your downward thrusts at a pace that was far from slow, far from gentle. The sound of his thighs meeting yours was loud, and you were aware somewhere in the back of your mind that the car was most definitely bouncing from the force of his thrusts.
"Oh, oh my god," you moan in total abandon, eyes fluttering as you try to focus on the man who is mere inches away from your face. Both of his arms have snaked around you, pulling you hard into his chest as he leans fully back into the seat that must've been laid further back at some point. His large palms are splayed out along your spine and shoulderblades, pinning you to his sweaty body as he pounds deep and fast into you.
Shoto is struggling to keep his own eyes open, his mixture of grey and blue eyes meeting yours despite the way you're being jostled on his lap. "So fuckin' tight, you feel s'good baby." he manages to get out between his heavy panting, hissing at the way you clench around his cock at the pet name. "You like that? You like me calling you baby?"
He thinks you're nodding, it's hard to tell with how hard he's drilling into you but you keep clenching around him, moaning when he hisses the pet name when you arch your back a little more and bounce your hips of your own volition. "'m close, g'nna cum f' you." you sound utterly fucked out already, cock drunk from the way the tip of his cock keeps ploughing without mercy against the squishy soft spot deep inside of you and making your hips twitch as you get closer and closer to your slice of heaven.
"Be a good girl and cum for me," he brushes a hand along your cheek, moving the hair away from your eyes and holding your gaze. He never believed you would be capable of becoming somehow even more beautiful, but here you were; drool-covered lips, flushed features and glassy eyes from the tears that haven't stopped rolling down your cheeks from his vicious pace. You were a piece of art, and all because of him.
You're writhing against him, and he tilts his head a little to slot his lips just against your own. Not quite kissing you just yet, not until after he mutters a "Cum," against your lips. He occupies every part of your mind, swallowing you whole with the way he kisses you and the way he continues to seamlessly fuck up into you when your orgasm hits hard. You moan loud and long against his mouth, muffled with each peck of his lips.
Shoto is the first to break off, leaning his head back to admire the sight before him. You're bouncing on his cock just from the power of his own hips, your dress had long been moved from your chest from the way he had been fucking you. Then his eyes shifted down to the loud wet squelching noises coming from between your legs, a white ring formed around the base of his cock and melting into the coarse hair there.
"Such a good girl, you did so well for me sweetheart." he's rubbing soothing circles against your hips, letting you roll them gracefully against his own to let you come down from the orgasm that you hit you hard. You hum in response to his words, eyes closed as you keep your forehead pressed hard against his shoulder.
He lets you do this for a few more minutes, just gently coming down whilst he embraces you, a cold hand hooked on the back of your neck beneath your ruined hair to try and help cool you down faster. "You okay?" he mumbles against your hairline, rocking his hips with your own when you start to pick up the pace just a little bit more.
"Yeah, yeah," you whisper, planting a kiss against his throat before you lean back some to meet his gaze. "Wanna make you cum too," you smile, biting your lip gently when he thrusts his hips up again into you. "Want you to use me to cum, Sho'." and you giggle at the deep sultry groan that bubbles deep in his chest, rumbling against your hands that are pressed against you.
"You might regret that," is all he says before he's spreading his legs just a little bit more, as much as he can in a car anyway, his hands instantly latching onto your ass and throwing you up a little more over his body so your tits are directly in his face. And then he's thrusting up into you again, whilst his lips latch onto the nipple that slipped from the confines of the dress.
The vigorous pace was back, the pro displaying his stamina beautifully with the way he's effortlessly holding you up for him to fuck up into you with such force it's making your eyes cross and your stomach tighten again as the familiar white-hot heat flushes over you from head to toe. He nips and bites along your chest, moving between your nipples to make sure they're all fluffy and sore from his ministrations. You must be close again because he twitches deep inside of you mid-thrust when you clamp down around him, velvet walls squeezing him for all his worth as he tries to bully his way through the sudden tightness.
"Please," you mumble, and he doesn't even know what you're begging for but he's happy to try and meet your pleas with his even rougher thrusts, throwing his hips harshly up into yours as you drop down just as hard. "Oh, fuck, fuck." is the only warning he gets before your entire body ceases up, your muscles locking you into place and Shoto can't stop the loud moan that escapes his lips from the intense way you're clenching around him.
He doesn't stop, however, still doing his best to thrust up into you as he cums deep inside of you, unable to stop himself or even ask if he was allowed to. But fuck it felt so fucking good, your pussy was practically massaging it out of him with the rhythmic twitches of your walls.
Slowly he begins to slow down his thrusts, letting you relax on his lap with his cock still buried deep inside of you as both of your essences begin to spill from the tight confines of your pussy. He lays kisses against your shoulder, up along your neck to your ear as you heave out deep breaths, trying to refocus your mind after he fucked your brains out.
"Fuck." Shoto is the first to speak, muscles slowly relaxing and melting into the leather of his car. You laugh breathlessly, the warmth blooming against his exposed collarbones before you lean back some to meet his gaze. "I really didn't plan to have this happen so soon."
You arch an eyebrow, a playful smile on your lips. "'So soon'? so you were planning on it happening at some point?" and Shoto somehow has it in him to look bashful, heat painting his pretty cheeks as he narrows his eyes to look out of the window. That's all you needed as your answer, as you leaned forward and laid a delicate kiss against his cheek before shifting up and off of him, both of you hissing at the sudden loss of heat.
"You think we'll still have our reservation?" you ask once settled back into your seat, sorting out your dress the best you could but it was really no use, he'd fucked you within an inch of your life in the thing. Shoto laughs, a low barely audible thing but it's beautiful nonetheless as he meets your eyes.
"No, I don't think so." he relaxes into his seat after tucking himself away, running a sweaty hand through his hair to try and keep it out of his eyes. "But I could always take you back to my place? Maybe try doing the whole thing the correct way this time."
And you hum as if in thought, "Sounds good." you smile, and he offers you one in return at the relief that washes over him at you accepting his offer to try and fix his fuck up of being unable to control himself before he even had the chance to take you to dinner.
But you both know deep down inside, that he's going to end up fucking you the second you step inside of his apartment, and again for many nights after that.

Katsuki circled the hardware store, trying to find a location where he could park and load the fences to the truck without rotters interfering. After a few more times of circling, Katsuki parked behind the hardware store where fences and larger items were placed.
He backed the truck to the entrance of the gate and stopped when he was close. He then watched as Izuku and F/n got out of the car to open the gate. He waited and when Izuku gave him a signal, he continued to back the car until it was halfway in.
Once he was done, the blonde got out of the truck leaving the engine on as F/n said it would be a hassle to turn on again and open the trunk.
“How many do you think we need?” Izuku asked F/n.
She tilted her head, “As much as the truck can hold.”
“What about the extras?” Katsuki asked and looked at the fences that were a couple inches taller than him.
“For fire.” Izuku said and began to hold a side of a white fence, “Kacchan, will help me. F/n, you go get the tools we need.”
Nodding and leaving the hard work to the males, F/n walks to the doors of the hardware store. She peeks inside before fully entering and venturing deeper into the store. She looks up the ceilings and sees an aisle number with information on the bottom.
As soon as she found what aisle to look at, she began to search the shelfs but hearing shuffling nearby made her pull out her revolver. The gun cocked in her hand as she took the safety off, she glanced around her to see the culprit but found nothing.
With her guard still up, she quickly scanned the items on the shelf until she found what she was looking for. She quickly grabbed the items she found as she heard shuffling getting closer. She zipped open her bag, putting the equipment in and zipping it back.
Quietly, F/n moved away from the shuffling and headed into another aisle. She tried hard to not draw attention, but her shoes tapping on the hard floor was loud from the store being silent. She internally cursed and proceed to move faster.
Though, she could tell that one of the rotters heard her as she heard growls coming nearer. Swiftly, with her other hand, she pulled out her knife and moved closer to the rotter that was alone.
With a quick movement, she stabbed the rotter's skull with her knife and carefully placed the dead to the floor as she feared that any noise would attract more rotters that roamed near.
She let out a low sigh and moved on to her task. Successfully grabbing every equipment and placing it in her bag, she turned around but let out a gasp as a rotter had snuck up behind her. She pushed herself back onto the shelf as the rotter tried to feast on her.
She grunted a bit and raised her hand that held her knife but the growl of another rotter pouncing on her made her drop her knife. She felt her eyes widen as she now had two rotters on her side.
Her left leg had to keep the rotter in front of her from tearing her insides while her right hand pushed the other rotter from biting her. But as the rotters tried their best to come at her, she felt pain on her back, like the feeling of something sharp trying to enter her.
She unexpectedly let out a cry as the feeling of something pierced her back. Her cry and struggle caused her to drop items that were behind her and caused an echo inside the building. She let out another gasp as she saw a lot more rotters coming her way.
She realized that if she didn't make up her mind this would be the end for her. Panting a bit, she cried out as she forcefully kicked the rotter in front of her while also shoving the rotter on her side.
With her revolter aimed at the rotter, she shot it and did the same to the other one. She hurriedly, picked up her bag and headed to where Izuku and Katsuki were, the pain on her back hurting tremendously.
From the outside, as Izuku and Katsuki finally loaded the last fence, the sound of gun firing caused them to be alarmed.
Katsuki looked at Izuku while he wiped the sweat off his forehead, “That’s coming from inside the store.”
“Which means,” Izuku started, “F/n might be in trouble.”
Not looking back to his friend, Izuku ran to the store and fished out his pocket knife. As for Katsuki, he jumped from the trunk and chased after Izuku but headed back to the truck and closed the trunk. He then ran after Izuku.
As they almost made it, they both saw F/n making it through the doors and panting in pain. Before they could speak, F/n yelled, “We gotta go now!”
Nodding and running back to the truck, they quickly got in and Katsuki drove off to their home. But they couldn’t ignore the grunts and pain sounds coming from the backseat and how F/n placed her hand near her lower back, hunching.
Worried, Izuku jumped to the backseat and made F/n turn her back towards him. He felt uneasy as he saw blood seeping through her shirt, “Are you bit!?”
“She’s bit!?” Katsuki asked as he glanced back to Izuku while also keeping his eyes on the road.
“I don’t know!” Izuku yelled back. He then lifted F/n’s shirt to see if she was bitten but relief washed over his face when he saw three nails, “She’s not!”
“Then what’s wrong with her!?” Katsuki asked as he made a left turn.
“Nails. It pierced her back.” Izuku said as he tried to pull one of the nails that wasn’t fully in but the sound of her crying made him stop.
“That fucking hurts!” F/n yelled at Izuku.
“I’m sorry!” Izuku said, “But I have to take them out, otherwise it’ll get infected.”
Reaching their home, Katsuki parked in the driveway and helped F/n get out. He then left Izuku to hold her while Katsuki opened the door and locked it when they reached inside.
Katsuki made F/n lay down while Izuku headed to get a first aid kit from the basement.
She then felt Katsuki cut the bottom of her shirt, and grunts as she felt his hands grazing her back, “At least take me to dinner first.”
“Is this really the time to make fucking jokes!” Katsuki said and passed her a pillow to bite down on.
Finally making it to his friends, Izuku set the aid kit down and apologized to her, “Sorry, F/n, this is going to hurt.”
She harshly bit down and closed her eyes as Izuku pulled the nails carefully. She began to tear as the process was painful and the feeling of the alcohol burned her. She could feel her blood dripping to her sides when Izuku removed a nail.
“How the hell did this even happen?” Katsuki asked and wiped her blood.
“Most likely fighting the dead.” Izuku said and pulled the last nail out. Wiping her back and putting bandages over the wound, the three let out a sigh as it was now over.
F/n wiped her tears and sat on her knees, she then gave the males a thumbs up, “Let's do that again sometime.”
“Yeah, I’d rather not, F/n.” Izuku said as he threw the bloody nails and gauges away.
“I’m with Deku on this. Now I got your fuckin’ blood on my hands.” Katsuki said as he wiped the blood on a cloth.
Scratching her nape, she glanced at Izuku, “Should we get to the fence.”
“No.” Izuku shook his head, “Let your wound heal a bit, then we’ll get to it.”
Nodding, F/n got up and headed to the second floor to change out of her bloody shirt. While she did so, the males on the bottom began to unload the fences and bring them to the backyard. In just a few days, they would begin to expand their house, incase of any emergencies.

Period Comfort
———————————
Headcanons for: Todoroki Shoto
Requested by: no one.
Prompt: How Shoto helps you during your time of the month.
Note: This is gonna be self indulgent on my part since my period is here and I’m dealing with cramps.
Warnings: mentions of cramps, and menstrual blood
Word count: 261
———————————————
•Shoto knows that your period is about to arrive when you begin to favor his left side a little bit more than his right, especially if the cramps are bad enough that you can’t reach for your heating pad and don’t want him to move.
•Have your favorite snacks and ice cream ready for you to dig into, when the cravings start to become too much.
•Can and will freeze anyone who even thinks of eating them.
•He had to do the same to his brother, Natsuo, when he had almost eaten the snacks that his sister, Fuyumi, favored during her time of the month.
•The Todoroki household managed to prevent world war three from happening. Just barely.
•Definitely doesn’t mind your request to cuddle even more than usual.
•As if he could say no to you.
•Memorized the brand of tampon or pad that you like to use.
•Doesn’t even flinch at the mention of menstrual blood.
•He knows that it’s a normal thing which you can’t help.
•Will go and get painkillers for you, and try to not take too long to come back, since he doesn’t like to be too far from you.
•Is more than content to spend the day in bed with you, if that’s what you want to do.

Stars
─ Todoroki Shoto x fem!reader
─ Summary: looking at the stars is now a hobby for both of us.
─ Warnings: none
Tumblr media
You put the jacket on your shoulders, the air outside was cold and the night sky made its way through the last golden rays of the sun, with calm steps you climbed the stairs of the building to the roof. You curved your lips up when you saw the beautiful view, it was relaxing to go up and contemplate the constellations after a long day training and studying, but above all to get away from all worries, just empty brain contemplating live art.
You were slightly startled by feeling the warm touch of another person on your shoulder, not feeling the silent person who positioned himself next to you.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."
You smiled at him, somewhat surprised to see Todoroki there, who usually went to bed early, or you simply didn't think he would ever visit the roof of the dormitories at nightfall.
"It's nothing."
You played it down, contemplating the stars above the sky, resting your arms on the railing that separated your body from a drop several meters high, Shoto remained silent, following your gaze and turning his eyes from time to time towards your figure, as if he wanted to say something but he didn't even know what, he really didn't know what he was doing there either, but since he saw you constantly go up to the roof he was curious to know what you were doing up there for so long. You caught his gaze several times, causing a tingle in your body, with a small sigh you turned to face him.
"They are pretty, aren't they?"
"Huh?"
"The stars are really beautiful."
You smiled pointing at the starry sky that hung over both of you, once again admiring the mantle stained with bright points.
"Yes, they are."
He muttered following the direction in which you were pointing to the starry sky, although he had a slightly confused look, making you laugh slightly, you knew he had no idea what you were pointing to, apart from, obviously, the little suns with no apparent form.
"That's the Ursa Minor."
"The… Ursa Minor?"
He narrowed his eyes without being able to visualize the figure, as before, only seeing a lot of white dots without forming a concrete silhouette. You approached him, grabbing his arm, stretching it out, resting your head next to his to try to have the same vision, you pointed his finger towards the stars, joining the lines that formed that constellation.
"I see." he turned his face, being a few centimeters from yours, causing your face to feel hot, you smiled nervously, seeing his eyes full of pure curiosity "Can you teach me more?"
You nodded, relaxing your body, without breaking the distance, noticing how his warm skin made contact with yours while you pointed to the most constellations on the mantle, murmuring some mythological data about them while he listened with complete concentration.
It was routine to go up to the roof at night after that encounter.

SHOTO TODOROKI X FEM READER HEADCANONS
Boku no Hero Academia
🧊Shoto Todoroki Headcanons🔥
Tumblr media
Author's note: today I was thinking about making headcanons for a different anime and the winner was our half-half 🙈
The question box is always open, if you want a custom headcanon or fanfic you can ask me.
I hope you enjoy it, my hearts 🌞
Tumblr media
🧊 It was he who noticed you first, however he didn't confess until after a long time. He watched you without needing to ask or say something to someone to find out about you.
🔥 He had a hard time opening up to you since his main insecurity is burning his eye and using the other half of him. You gave him lots of cuddles and encouragement.
🧊 You praise him a lot, for you he is so incredible, so you always let him know.
🔥 In the missions he doesn't like to leave you alone so they always go together in the same team.
🧊 He doesn't want you to get too close to Mineta or Denki, he says they are too... sticky.
🔥 Always hold your hand when they go out anywhere together.
🧊 He likes risky places to do it, the UA bathrooms is a guaranteed place on his list.
🔥 He sleeps with his little head on your neck, he likes to feel your warm breath and the soft beats of your heart.
🧊 Sometimes he is a bit cold when he is angry, but he knows that he is in a relationship with you and he has to learn to express his feelings, so you can feel lucky that this man confesses all his feelings to you. .
🔥 If he is jealous he will get your attention anyway, but he will never get to the point of being toxic in the relationship. He is smart and knows when he has to put limits on what he does...or not.
🧊 His first kiss with you was on the cheek, he never went further since he has a lot of respect for you and puts your comfort before his own (although he was really dying to kiss your lips).
🔥 Sometimes Bakugo messes with his burn. "Fuck off, Bakugo, and look in a mirror at what a shitty face you have."
🧊 He usually plays with the temper of his fingers when they're inside you. He drives you crazy when you're on your period and uses the warm side of him.
🔥 It is very quiet when they have sex but if you ask him to go faster he will do it for you. He asks him for anything, he will never complain.
🧊 I would never hurt you.
🔥 100% loyal to you, he has no eyes for another woman but you.
🧊 If you had a bad day, he will do everything possible to cheer you up and be with you.
🔥 This boy has a good 15cm and he keeps it very quiet.
🧊 His favorite nickname of him is to call you "my life".
🔥 During your period he will be very gentle and he will have everything ready for him to be more enjoyable.
🧊 It takes you away from Endeavor "forget about meeting the old man for now".
🔥 When he wants something, he tells you directly "Let's have sex after dinner". You almost spit out your drink “Shoto! but it's only 10 in the morning."
🧊 He likes you to caress him, play and pull his hair.
🔥 It is very warm when he is alone with you, he is very loving and protective.
🧊 You can literally be proud to have him as a boyfriend since you will have the privilege of having him use both of his abilities on you. "Tell me, precious, which one do you want me to wear tonight?"
🔥 He usually spanks a lot until he leaves marks.

Part 1: Missing In Action
Part of the Twos Company, Threes A Crowd series
Rating: M
Pairings: Bakugou Katsuki x fem!reader / Todoroki Shoto x fem!reader / Bakugou Katsuki x Todoroki Shoto / Bakugou Katsuki x fem!reader x Todoroki Shoto
Summary: The call comes early in the morning. It’s one of the worst moment of his life, those four little words echoing in his head as he tried to process what was happening. It was silly, how four little words can change so much in just the blink of an eye and yet they were all he could hear. He was sure those four simple yet devastating words would haunt him for the rest of his life.
There’s been an accident.
Tumblr media
The call comes in the early hours before the sun even starts to tint the night sky orange. Katsuki and Shoto had been asleep for a good few hours, the two of them exhausted from the twelve hour shifts they had been doing all week. The plan had to been to crash for a day, let the boys get themselves off to school and sleep all the way through until you got home then spend the next two days together, lounging around the apartment and making up for having only caught glimpses of one another over the last few week. That had been the plan anyway but plans didn’t always go the way they were meant to.
Katsuki’s the one who wakes up first, groggily cursing the person who was calling him for disturbing their much needed sleep. Shoto barely even opens his eyes, whining softly and snuggling in tighter against Katsuki’s side, his face pressed against the blonde's chest. Katsuki’s loathed to move him, surprisingly comfortable despite the cold arm slung over his waist. The phone doesn’t stop ringing though so he has no choice but to lean over and grab the stupid thing off the bedside table, Shoto’s annoyed whine a lot louder this time as he clung onto Katsuki. He settled back in to bed quickly, curling his arm around Shoto’s back so he could stroke his fingers through his hair and try and lull the other man back to sleep.
“Go back to sleep,” Katsuki mumbled, still half asleep himself and not really thinking about why his phone would be ringing at stupid o’clock in the morning. He probably should have though. No one called this time of the day unless it was an emergency. Katsuki quickly turned his phone onto silent and let it ring for a few more seconds, the gentle buzzing of it vibrating nowhere near as loud as his normal ringtone. Shoto mumbled something, his face pressed against Katsuki’s chest so the blonde couldn’t actually make out what he was saying. Whatever it was couldn’t have been all that important because within seconds Shoto’s asleep again, his breathing evening out and soft little snores sounding once more.
Tumblr media
Katsuki waited a couple of seconds, watching Shoto to make sure he was actually asleep before turning his attention back to his still ringing phone. He’s a little more awake now, his sleep deprived brain finally starting to catch up with what was going on. Deku’s name flashes up across his screen, his contact photo annoyingly bright just like the man in question. It was a photo you had taken, Deku’s face bright red with sweat dripping down his face as he tried to eat a bowl of chilli Katsuki had made. It’s a stupid photo but god had Katsuki laughed until his own face was red and he was struggling to breathe. You had taken all the photos for his contacts, choosing ones that you knew would make him smile and bring up good memories. You had done the same to Shoto’s phone but where Katsuki’s ones were all of his friends in embarrassing situations Shoto’s were all boring and tame, his nerd squad smiling sweetly or blowing kisses, hell ponytails had even looked semi professional, taken in a garden with all soft lighting and shit. It was stupid but it had made you happy so Katsuki had let you get on with it, never wanting to be the reason you weren’t smiling.
The phone stops ringing, a glorious few seconds of silence and Katsuki stupidly hoped that the nerd had given up so he could go back to sleep but then the screen lights up again, vibrating away in his hand and sending tingles up his arm. Keeping his voice as low as he can, Katsuki finally answers, ready to tell Deku where he can shove his phone. “This better be important Deku or I swear to god I’m going to shove…” Katsuki’s threat dies on his tongue, Deku cutting him off before he can follow through on what would have been some colourful and creative suggestions on where the greenetts phone could go. “Kacchan, I…y/n she’s…there’s been an accident.”
Katsuki’s blood runs cold at Deku’s words, the other man struggling to get them out through his tears and just like that Katsuki’s wide awake. His whole body tensed, his hand curling around Shoto’s shoulder and holding him tighter. It’s a call everyone who has a loved one in the hero commission fears and Katsuki’s no different, dread pooling in his stomach and making him feel sick. He’s had calls like this before, just like you and Shoto had about one or the other having been hurt in the line of duty. It’s bound to happen, no matter how careful you are or your level of skills, you’re going to get hurt one way or another. Over the years there had been a broken bone or two, maybe a couple of concussions and a handful of quirk accidents that left one or more of them having to deal with some inconvenient side effects. The worst had been the incident at the Imperial Gardens that had almost cost Katsuki his life and had left him with the need to use hearing aids for the rest of his life. He had been convinced he wouldn’t make it then, sending his prayers to gods he didn’t believe in and regretting the things he would miss. The boys had barely been three years old then, their entire lives ahead of them and Katsuki was convinced he was going to miss it all. He hadn’t though, had survived against all odds thanks to a little interference from you. He knew that you had gotten the call from an official member of the hero commission, Shoto having already been with Katsuki at the time of the incident. That was how these things went, impartial and professional people who could relay information quickly and clearly without getting bogged down with emotions and feelings. It was never a fellow hero who did the calling, the sound of sirens and shouting in the background making it obvious that Deku was still at the scene.
“What happened?” Katsuki manages to get out past the lump forming in his throat, his voice rough and low yet surprisingly calm despite the growing panic taking hold of him. On the other end of the line Deku sniffles, his breath shaky and Katsuki already knows it’s going to be bad. Deku cries at everything, always has but this is different, Katsuki can tell. He’s known the nerd long enough at this point to be able to tell the difference between his pointless wailing and actual fear and grief. “I…I’m sorry Kacchan,” Deku starts, quickly dissolving into a rush of words as he tries to answer Katsuki as quickly as possible. He doesn’t hear everything Deku says but he does hear the important parts, picking out the facts from the other man’s rambling.
There had been a fire, an apartment block falling victim to a kids out of control quirk that had spread quicker then it should if the building had been up to regulations. Deku had been on rescue duty with a couple of no-name heroes and sidekicks, helping to evacuate the residents and keep the general public out of the way. The rescue efforts had been going well until they realised the kid was still stuck in the crumbling building, surrounded by fire and no one able to get close without getting hurt or potentially putting the kid in danger. So you had been sent in, armed with Shoto’s fire quirk and able to make your way through the burning building without getting burnt to a crisp. The plan had been that you would go in and find the kid, calming them down and avoid any casualties or a scared kid growing up feeling like a murderer. It had been a solid plan and it had seemed to work, the flames dying down to allow rescue teams into the buildings so they could get the rest of the civilians out. You had confirmed contact, had even radioed to ask for a paramedic to be waiting for you to look the kid over, just to be on the safe side.
Neither you or the kid had made it out.
Deku didn’t know what had happened, just that there had been a loud crack and then the building was coming down, the very ground seeming to split open and swallow the thing up. All that had been left was a cloud of ash and smoke, a smouldering pile of rubble where the multi story building had been just moments before. People had died, a couple still trapped in their fifth floor apartment and a sidekick who had been trying to get to them. They had found others, alive but in need of immediate medical attention but what they hadn’t found was you, or the kid you had been willing to risk your life for.
Deku’s still crying and mumbling on the other end of the phone, apologising for not having been quick enough, for not suspecting that the building's foundations would suddenly give out, taking the blame for things that were completely out of his control. “It’s not your fault,” Katsuki mumbled, his voice void of any emotion. He’s in shock, maybe even denial because he can’t even begin to process that you might be gone. You are resilient, like a cockroach as you would say. Nothing short of the apocalypse was getting rid of you and even then there was a chance you would be the only one to survive. Katsuki had seen you survive so much over the years and he refused to believe that some shitty building that probably didn’t meet building regs would be the thing to take you out.
Shoto shifted in his arms and Katsuki automatically looked down, finding worried mismatched eyes already looking back at him. Shoto had to of heard. Deku wasn’t exactly being quiet with his wailing and Katsuki had forgotten to turn the volume down before answering like he normally would if one of them was still asleep, relying heavily on his hearing aids to pick up the quiet chattering. Deku’s still talking a mile a minute but Katsuki’s stopped listening, trapped as he is in Shoto’s eyes watching as the same panic and fear he feels begins to set in those tired eyes.
They always knew this was a possibility. It’s a risk of being a hero that they all have to be willing to pay but never once did Katsuki think he would be one of the unlucky few to have to go through it. There were rules and regulations in place now to try and prevent things like this from happening, especially to hero couples with kids. No one wanted to end up with an orphaned kid on their hands. Oh god, the boys. What was he supposed to tell them? How was he meant to wake them up and let them know that the rushed goodbye earlier that evening might have been the last time they saw their mother alive? It would break them, all of them and Katsuki didn’t know how they would function without you. This had to be a nightmare, his worst fear brought to life and Katsuki was quickly getting pulled under by it all, falling down into that dark hole of fear and sorrow without even knowing what had happened.
Katsuki hadn’t even realised that silent tears had started to roll down his cheeks until Shoto reached up, a cool hand brushing them away. He sucked in a stuttering breath, slamming his eyes closed as he tried to fight back against his overwhelming emotions. It wouldn’t help anyone if he let himself get sucked down by that dark train of thought, especially not you. He was a hero, he needed to act like one and go out there and do what he did best. Rescue those in need of saving. “Send me the address,” Katsuki demanded, his voice surprisingly firm considering how shaky he felt. Katsuki hung up before Deku could start rambling again, letting his hand fall to the side and gripping his phone tightly. He had more important things to deal with right now than whatever misplaced guilt Deku had lumped on his own shoulders and he didn’t have the time or patience to talk the greenett down from the state he had worked himself into. Let cheeks deal with that. She could be soft and loving, tactful and understanding where Katsuki was likely to make the other man feel worse than he already did.
The silence that fills the room is suffocating, Katsuki hyper aware of the other man laying half on top of him. Shoto had yet to move his hand off of Katsuki’s cheek, his thumb gently stroking back and forth over the soft skin in what was probably supposed to be a soothing manner. At least the tears had stopped, Katsuki managing to get himself under control and allowing him to focus on what was happening. “How much did you hear?” Katsuki’s gruff voice sounded too loud in the quiet space, like he had screamed his question instead of the whisper it had actually been. “Enough,” Shoto replied. It was only one word but it felt heavy, like now there was no escaping it, the fact that you were missing and hurt now a fact of their lives. Katsuki hates it, wants to go back ten hours and refuse to let you leave for your shift. You're a hero though and you wouldn’t have stayed even if he had begged, let alone if there was the chance that you would save someone else’s life. Just like he and Shoto would have in the same situation.
His phone chimes, the screen lighting up with the address of the now destroyed building and sending long shadows up the walls. It’s not too far away, half an hour or so and out in the poorest residential district. If they push themselves they could be there in about twenty minutes, cutting across the rooftops and pushing their quirks to the limits. It would be worth it though because it would get them to you quicker. Time was what was important here and they were wasting it. Katsuki needed to take action, to do something or he was going to drive himself insane with all the worst case scenarios and what ifs. Shoto seems to be thinking the same and without a word they roll away from the other and get out of the bed.
They don’t talk the whole time they’re getting ready, running on autopilot at this point as the two of them move around the room, chucking items of clothing at one another and knowing the other will catch them. It’s quick and efficient, like when they get ready for a mission except there’s a heavy foreboding hanging over them that isn’t normally there. Katsuki had to think that it was just another mission though, just another late night call for a rescue mission that needs all hands on deck. It’s easier to think of it like that, to detach himself from it because Katsuki’s sure that if he thinks about it he’s either going to go into an explosive rage that will just make things worse or shut down completely. Neither of those options gets them closer to finding you, to getting you back safe and in one piece so Katsuki focuses on moving as silently and quickly as he can, pulling on his spare hero suit and clicking his gauntlets into place like he’s done a thousand times before.
There in the living room when a soft knock cuts through the silence, the gentle rapping of knuckles on wood only just noticeable even amongst the silence. Shoto looks up with a frown from where he had been tugging his boots on, his eyes darting to the blonde when he doesn’t show the same level of surprise as he had. “Babysitter,” Katsuki mumbled, finishing buckling up his own boots before pushing up from the couch and heading towards the door. Reo and Kasui were to old for a babysitter at thirteen but it was late, well early actually and Katsuki didn’t want to wake them when they had school in the morning but nor did he want them waking up to an empty house and left to worry about their missing parents so Katsuki had text the only person close by that he knew would be awake at this hour, trusting that they would come regardless of the time.
Shinso looked as tired as always when Katsuki opened the door, his purple hair a complete mess and his eyes dark and sunken. Tenko stood behind him, looking just as tired as his old man and like he was about to pass out where he was standing. “Any news?” Shinso asked as a way of greeting, slipping into the apartment when Katsuki stepped back from the door with Tenko following silently behind him. “No,” Katsuki answered gruffly. People always said no news was good news and that the fact they hadn’t heard anything would suggest you hadn’t been found dead under the heap of rubble but it also meant that they hadn't found you alive either. No news wasn’t good news and it wasn't bad news either, it was indifferent and just caused Katsuki’s worry to grow into full blown terrified panic.
Shinso nodded. He and Tenko looked as somber as Katsuki felt, the teen shifted uneasily from one foot to the other like he didn’t know how to be still. He kept shooting glances at Kasui’s room, his tired eyes somehow still sharp and full of concern. Katsuki hadn’t been a fan of Kasui’s relationship with Tenko to start with, not even when they had just been little kids and wanting to be the best of friends. Over the years though Katsuki could admit his feelings on the matter had changed. Tenko was good for Kasui, mellowed the little shit out and kept him from constantly getting into trouble, not a small feat considering he had inherited the Bakugou temper and could be just as much of a brat as Katsuki had been at that age. “Go on,” Katsuki jerked his head towards Kasui’s door, “just don’t wake him up and don’t be surprised if Reo sneaks in at some point.” Tenko shot a quick look at his old man, getting a nod of approval and then he was off, silently getting Kasui’s bedroom door open and slipping inside before closing it just as quietly behind him. It was worrying how quiet the boy had been and Katsuki made a mental note to attach bells to Reo’s and Kasui’s doors to stop anyone from sneaking in or out in the future. As much as he liked the kid Katsuki didn’t want to make it easy for him, especially when all their hormones kicked in.
“I’ll keep an eye on them,” Shinso promised, laying his hand on Katsuki’s shoulder and squeezing gently in an act of awkward reassurance. “Thanks,” Katsuki grunted, gently shrugging the other man off as he turned to look at Shoto. “You ready?” Shoto pulled up the zipper on his boot, looking up at Katsuki with cold and determined eyes that didn’t do much to hide the worry Katsuki could see in them. Shoto nodded and Katsuki didn’t waste any more time before heading out. Shinso followed them back to the door and holding it open as they stepped out into the dimly lit hallway. “Let me know when you find her,” Shinso demanded softly. There was no hesitation, no doubt that you wouldn’t be found. He was certain that Katsuki and Shoto would find you, more certain than Katsuki felt. He had been involved in these kinds of rescues before, knew how important those first few hours were and how the likelihood of finding anyone alive went down with every hour that passed. You weren’t just any normal person though and that gave Katsuki a dangerous glimmer of hope that everything would be ok.
Shoto nodded at Shinso, promising to let him know as soon as they knew something and thanking him for coming to watch the boys. Katsuki didn’t say anything, can’t say anything because he didn’t think he would be able to keep a lid on his turbulent emotions if he started. Instead he just stalks off down the corridor and towards the service stairs, knowing that Shoto will only be a step or two behind him and sure enough he falls into step just as Katsuki starts up the stairs, taking them two at a time as he heads to the roof.
Shoto’s already forming a path of ice as they burst through the door, his hand stretched out in front of him to better direct the flow of his quirk. Katsuki automatically fell back behind the other man, not slowing his pace as his feet hit ice. It's a well practiced move by now, one that he and Shoto had spent hours perfecting but that didn't stop the sudden drop in his stomach as Katsuki curled his hand around the back of Shoto’s utility belt and stepped in as close as he could without tripping them both up. As the ice path rises up over the edge of the building Katsuki sticks his free hand out behind him, his palm facing outwards and lets off a series of small controlled explosions that have the pair of them hurtling forwards, quicker than either of them could run.
They glide effortlessly across the rooftops, the wind whipping by and leaving a trail of ice behind them that would hopefully melt with the rising sun, not that either of them would care if they got slapped with another fine from the government. The city rushes past, a blur of muted greys and blues and the occasional fleck of yellow or orange. Shoto’s hair is a mess, the man not having redone his long braid in their rush to get out the apartment though Katsuki supposes his is no better, his usual spikes flattened from sleep. When they take a corner Katsuki presses in closer, his hold on Shoto tightening in an attempt to avoid falling twenty stories. It gets him a face full of hair, inhaling the smell of cool mint and campfire as well as the hint of vanilla. It’s like a punch in the gut, that small almost insignificant reminder of you threatening to have him loosening his hold on Shoto and send him hurtling toward the empty streets below. Whatever tentative hold Katsuki had had over his emotions snaps and everything just comes rushing forward in a vicious wave of fear and panic.
There was so much Katsuki had wanted to do in life, so much more he had wanted to experience with you, Shoto and the boys. They were silly things but now that you might not get to experience them they seemed monumental. Like when Tenko finally got up the nerve to ask Kasui out on a proper date. It was Katsuki’s right as Kasui’s father to give the older teen a hard time, threatening to blow his head off if he ever so much as thought about hurting Kasui. You were supposed to be there, rolling your eyes and laughing as you playfully shove him out the way to reassure Tenko that Katsuki would do no such thing whilst the blonde continued to threaten him over your shoulder. Or even when Reo and Kasui made it to U.A like they were insisting they would. The three of you were supposed to be there to embarrass the hell out of them whilst also cheering them on at their first sports day. You would tut and sigh as Katsuki and Shoto told one embarrassing story after another but you would be just as bad if not worse, probably showing baby pictures of them naked in the bath or curled up together sleeping.
You had been going on for months now about wanting to go away on an actual family holiday, not just day trips to as far as you could safely get them with Onishi’s borrowed quirk. Katsuki had been reluctant, always brushing you off and stating he was too busy to take any time off. It was a shit excuse but you had never pushed, just smiled understandingly and always saying there was time except they might not have more time. He should have said yes, the very first time you had brought it up in passing Katsuki should have moved heaven and earth to make it happen. It’s not like he even had that good of a reason to say no. He and Shoto ran their own agency now so there was nothing stopping then from taking the time off and you worked at Deku’s stupid little agency and there was no way the nerd would have said no. Katsuki had let work get in the way, you all had, considering it had been about two weeks since you actually spent the day together as a family. If, no, not if but when, when they found you Katsuki would make it happen, block off two weeks in his and Shoto’s schedules and demand Izuku do the same for you. A poolside getaway in Greece, an adventurous hike up Machu Picchu or even city hopping across Europe, whatever it was you wanted Katsuki would make it a reality. The three of you had given so much to this city, this county and though Katsuki would never want to stop being a hero it was about time you did something for yourselves before it became too late, if it wasn’t already.
Everything that could be, all your plans and dreams just gone, blown away like sand. It was stupid of him to be thinking like this, Katsuki knew that but as soon as Deku had said your name he had been hit with a dark and ominous foreboding that he couldn’t shake. He had always been the one to tell people not to do this kind of shit, to not start planning the bloody funeral before there was even a body to bury. In retrospect it was easy to say those kinds of things because he didn’t know then what it felt like, the uncertainty, the lack of anything that gave even the glimmer of hope. It was easier, almost natural for the mind to go to the worst case scenario instead of the foolish optimism, almost like it was trying to brace itself for the heartache and pain. Like it would hurt less if the worst case scenario became your new reality. Katsuki didn’t think it would be easier, didn’t think all his melancholy fear mongering would make it any easier to deal with if you were…if you were…
It’s then that Katsuki sees it, the thick towering cloud of smoke just a couple of blocks over becoming visible as they rounded the side of an office building. The air smells like ash and dirt and that rancid mix of everyday things that have melted and burnt that seems to stick to his throat and block up his nose. It’s strong enough here that it chases away Katsuki’s unwanted and unhelpful thoughts and forces him to pay attention to the here and now. There’s a noticeable gap in the skyline, an empty square amongst the tightly packed buildings. It seems so unassuming, almost like the space had always been there. Like the building full of people that had been living and breathing last night hadn’t even existed in the first place.
It’s an unspoken agreement between him and Shoto to speed up, the two of them pushing their quirks that little bit harder to cover the relatively small distance as quickly as they possibly could. The closer they get the thicker the smell gets, completely smothering the faint smell of vanilla and mint that had been lingering on Shoto’s hair. By the time they’ve cleared another block Katsuki can hear the sirens of the various ambulances, police cars and fire engines as they speed along the roads below. There’s a lot of activity, such as there normally is with these kinds of disasters but Katsuki can’t help but feel his heart stutter and chest clench, wondering if it’s you in one of those ambulances, alive or dead or maybe somewhere in between. He knows you’re not, knows that Izuku would phone him as soon as you had been found. It doesn’t stop his eyes from darting down every time he caught a glimpse of the flashing lights though, that horrible mix of fear and hope ever present.
The closer they get to the scene the more frantic Katsuki becomes, whatever small amount of control he had been holding onto vanishing. There’s desperation there now and he knows Shoto’s the same with how jagged and uneven his ice is getting, threatening to send Katsuki falling if he doesn’t pay enough attention. His own explosions are getting bigger as well though, the boom rattling the glass of the buildings as they fly past and sending chucks of ice flying down to the streets below. They’re both on edge, more so than they already had been and Katsuki’s about ready to blow up a pigeon if it unexpectedly flies past by the time they come to a stop on top of one of the lower buildings at the edge of the disaster zone.
Katsuki jumps off the ice ramp before Shoto’s even stopped forming it, his boots landing with a heavy thud that’s barely audible over the noise from below. He doesn’t pause, doesn’t take a moment to gain any form of composure before he’s sprinting across the roof to look over the edge at the devastation below. Shoto’s right beside him, the two of them leaning against the railing to get a better look at what’s happening down on the ground. Katsuki sucks in a breath, eyes flicking across the scene of destruction as he tries to find any sign of you amongst the chaos.
Katsuki can see Deku, his suit ripped and dirty as he shouts out instructions to the other heroes and first responders. He’s stood atop the tallest pile of rubble, moving massive slabs of concrete with his quirk and flinging them off into a dump truck parked at the edge of the pile. There are others, a chain of people passing down rocks and filling up smaller trucks, quickly trying to clear away the debris in an attempt to find any of the people still missing. There’s a whole fleet of ambulances parked off to the side, doctors and nurses treating people with everything from a few scratches and bruises all the way to broken bones and angry looking burns. Some get whisked away, bundled into the back of one of the waiting ambulances and rushed off to the nearest hospital. Others are just bandaged up and moved off to some sort of field medical area, left there to wait for a police officer to take their statement. There’s firefighters still trying to smother out the last of the flames, Backdraft amongst them though even from up here Katsuki can see that he’s getting tired, his arms drooping and the stream of water nowhere near as powerful as Katsuki’s seen it. He thinks he sees Sato as well, shoving cake into his face before heading back out to help in the recovery efforts. Onishi’s there too, jumping around the scene and getting civilians to the doctors quicker than they could walk. Katsuki sees a lot of people, some heroes he recognises and some he doesn’t but they are all working flat out to get to every person they can. What he doesn’t see though is you and his heart plummets down into his stomach as that now familiar feeling of dread begins to creep up on him again.
Katsuki’s hands tighten around the railing, his head tipping forward as he squeezes his eyes shut and clenches his jaw. He had half been expecting to turn up and find you sat on the back of an ambulance, bloody and bruised but smiling tiredly up at them as Katsuki tears into you about how reckless and bloody stupid you had been whilst Shoto fusses over you. It was stupid of him to get his hopes up like that but Katsuki was used to you pulling shit like that by now. You had a bad habit of getting into dangerous and questionable situations only to miraculously pull through with nothing more than a few scratches and some minor wounds that are all healed up a day or two later. It happened less since the boys had come along but Katsuki could be forgiven for hoping that you would pull the same stupid stunt now and save him and Shoto the heartache and dread that they were already starting to feel.
There was a distressed whine from beside him, it getting noticeably colder despite the chill already in the air. Turning his head slightly Katsuki opened his eyes to look at the man stood next to him. Shoto’s watching the chaos below him, mismatched eyes most likely looking for you before going back to track Deku as he moves around the rubble when it became clear you weren’t there. His frowning, pain and worry in his eyes that Katsuki assumes mirrors his own. His long hairs a mess, the strands that had come free of his braid whipping around his face but it’s like he doesn’t notice, Shoto focused only on what was going on below them. Katsuki wants to kiss his frown away, wants to use his thumb to smooth out the furrow between his brows and promise that everything’s going to be fine, that you’re going to be fine but he knows he can’t promise that. They get taught that early on, not to make promises to distressed and grieving people that you might not be able to keep, no matter how determined you are. It gives them false hope, could make the situation ten times worse if you fail to deliver what you had promised. They’re already going to go through hell if you don’t come back to them whole and breathing, they don’t need empty promises giving them hope when realistically they know how these things go. There only real hope is that healing quirk of yours is doing it’s dammed job and keeping you breathing along enough for them to find you.
“Come on,” he mumbled, nudging Shoto with his shoulder as he straightens up. The other man blinks, his frown deepening before his face smooths out into a blank stare. He nod’s once before he grabs the railing and heaves himself over it, already forming his ice slide before his feet even cleared the top. Katsuki’s quick to follow, using his upper body strength to push himself up and over. He plummets toward the ground feet first, his heart stilling for that first second of free falling before he’s using his quirk to slow his descent. It’s a move he’s done a thousand times before, as easy as breathing at this point and Katsuki knows that he will land on his feet next to Shoto, the two of them ready to help with the rescue efforts even though they're not the most suited for it.
As his palms crackle and pop Katsuki tells himself again and again that as much as he wants to he can’t priorities you, can’t focus solely on finding you because it might put other casualties and rescue workers at risk. He’s a hero, he’s meant to save people and he will, every single one he comes across until he gets to you and then when he knows your safe, knows you’ll make it to another day Katsuki will go right back to helping save those still trapped, because he’s a hero and that’s what heroes do.
He and Shoto land about the same time, the other man sending a flame up behind them to melt the trail of ice he had left behind him. It’s even louder down here, the sound making Katsuki wince slightly as his hearing aids automatically adjust. Down here they can hear the grief and desperation as well as see it. Katsuki can see worried parents, hear them pleading and crying to the police officers about their missing kids, the crying just getting worse when all they get in return is a promise that the hero’s are doing all they can and that they’ll be notified if they find someone matching their missing child’s description. He can hear little kids whaling, tears streaming down their dirt covered faces as they cry out for their families. They are being treated nicer than the adults but still no promises are made, just soft and flowery words designed to calm down and soothe without outright telling them that they’ll get to see their parents again. There’s people pacing, others sat on cots or folding chairs, bloody and bruised or bandaged up but they all have that same sort of look about them, lost and scared and fucking devastated as they wait for something. Waiting to be told someone they love has been found, waiting to know if it’s alive or dead or half way between the two. Maybe they aren’t missing anyone, maybe they’re just waiting to be told where to go, now the place they called home was nothing more than a heap of rock, dust and shattered lives.
That could’ve be him and Shoto. If they had normal lives they would be one of those people huddled off to the edge, waiting for news on you whilst watching heroes scramble to save everyone they could. Katsuki doesn’t know how they can do it, how they can just stand there and wait without doing anything themselves. He's sure he would go insane, minuets barely passing before he was shouting and screaming, demanding that something be done, that you be found there and then, one way or another. Katsuki’s never been good at staying still though when there’s something he could be doing, a fact made even worse as a hero because there is always something to be done.
“Kacchan!” Katsuki’s head snapped towards the voice, his eyes narrowing as he watched Deku stumble his way down the mound of rubble toward them, sending chunks of concrete and plasterboard rolling and almost tripping over his own feet. He leaps and bounds over to them, skidding to a halt right in front of them. The greenett looks worse up close, dirt and ash smeared across his face and darkening his suit. There’s blood on his hands, dark and dried yet still visible through the dirt and grime. Katsuki doesn’t think it’s his, unable to see any sign of injury apart from a suspicious looking stain on his chest but it’s hard to tell if it’s blood or oil. He hopes it’s blood, not wanting to see his oldest friend go up in flames when he comes across a still smouldering section of building.
Deku’s eyes are red rimmed, a clear sign he had been crying but that’s nothing new. Though he had gotten better over the years he’s still a cry baby, something Ichika had inherited but unlike her old man the damned brat had learnt how to weaponise it. Reo was particularly susceptible to it but he was already wrapped around her finger so maybe that was to be expected. Deku’s eyes are watery now, fresh tears clinging to his lashes as they get closer to spilling over. His bottom lip wobbles, those green eyes filled with guilt and sadness but most of all pity and Katsuki can’t deal with this right now. He doesn’t want Izuku’s pity, doesn’t want it from anyone. Never had and never will. He can see the apology coming, Deku’s lip wobbling just that little bit more as the first tear slips down his cheek leaving behind a streak in the dirt. That’s another thing Katsuki doesn’t want, stupid and pointless apologies because they both know that Izuku had nothing to actually be sorry for. He wasn’t the one who brought the building down or the one who caused the fire. Katsuki doesn’t want to listen to him wailing and blubbering, not when there are things they should all be doing. Much more important things.
“What’s the update?” Katsuki snapped, quick to cut off whatever bullshit Deku was about to start sprouting. Cold fingers brush the back of his hand, cold enough that Katsuki can feel it through his gloves. His eyes automatically darted sideways to Shoto, surprised at the sudden touch. They don’t do this sort of thing, had decided way back at the beginning that when they were working they would keep it professional, well at least when they were around people anyway. They didn’t do PDA or terms of endearment or declarations of love but as he watched Shoto, eyes blank and fixed on Izuku as he managed to get his little finger hooked around Katsuki’s he thought that he could allow it, just this once, considering the circumstances.
“Right…I…erm.” Katsuki turned his attention back to the greenett as he snuffled out his words, finding him rubbing away his tears before looking up at them with determination. What follows next is a quick yet detailed summary of what had happened between Deku’s frantic call about an hour ago and their arrival. His words tumbled quickly from his mouth, hands flailing wildly as he pointed off in different directions. The only reason he and Shoto could even understand him was because they had been putting up with this shit for years and were used to it by now otherwise Katsuki would have had to slap a hand over his mouth and demand someone else who knew how to take a breath between sentences explain things to them.
Thirteen people, three dogs, a cat and a tortoise had been recovered so far, none dead but a few people had sustained serious enough injuries that they had been rushed to the nearest hospital. The majority of the fire had been put out though they couldn’t ignore the possibility that there could be some still raging underground. Backdraft was going to stay at the scene just in case and the firefighters were going to help with the recovery efforts and in moving the rubble out the way. More heroes had been called in, some with strength quirks and some with speed, in an effort to get to the bottom of the sinkhole that had opened up under the building and swallowed it down. Ochako was coming to help out, the gravity defying hero having to wait for Asui to get to their apartment to watch Ichika before she could leave. Even Ito was on his way over from Soka. His telekinesis had gotten a lot better over the years and Katsuki knew he would be able to lift more in one go then the rest of the rescue team would be able to shift in half an hour.
Izuku said that they knew you had been on one of the lower floors when the building collapsed and though having a rough idea of where you and the kid were was a good thing it also meant that you were most likely somewhere down in that hole with at least ten stories of building on top of you. It would be difficult and time consuming to get to you and the longer it took the lower their chance became of finding either of you breathing. He can’t just force his way down there, his quirk useless in this situation because he was more likely to cause an air pockets that could potentially keeping you alive to cave in and he wouldn’t be responsible for your death like that, not if he ever wanted to looks Shoto and the boys in the eyes again. No, Katsuki would follow the plan that was already in place and do his bit to find you as quickly as they could and when they did he was going to slap the ever loving shit out of you for putting him and Shoto through this hell.
“Where do you want us?” Katsuki snapped, barely giving Izuku time to take a breath after he finished talking. “Erm-“ Deku’s eyes nervously darted around, like he was looking for someone or something, “I’m not sure that’s a good idea Kacchan.” Katsuki’s eyes widened in disbelief, sure he hadn’t heard the nerd right because there was no way in hell he was going to side line Katsuki. Not for this. Deku tipped his head forward, rubbing at the back of his neck as he continued to mumble, completely unaware of Katsuki’s growing anger with every word he said. “It’s just, this is personal for you and I’m not sure you’re in the best emotional state right now. I mean that’s understandable considering what’s happened but maybe you should erm sit this one out? I swear I’ll let you know when we find something but maybe it’s for the best if you're not directly involved.” Katsuki was gonna kill him, blow his face clean off and then have Shoto set fire to him just for good measure. Was he joking? He had to be because there was no way this idiot could actually think Katsuki was just going to walk away and leave you down there, alone and in the dark in god knows what’s state.
Sneering Katsuki took a threatening step forward, a threat of violence already on his tongue but whatever pain he was about to promise Deku died instantly when a warm hand pressed gently against his chest and urged him back slightly. Katsuki snapped his head round to glare at Shoto but the other man wasn’t looking at him, his mismatched eyes fixed on Deku and full to the brim with pain and desperation. “Please Izuku,” Shoto pleaded, his voice as soft as always but his eyes so wide and open that Katsuki could swear he could see every single emotion Shoto felt in them. “We need to do something,” he continued, tipping his head forward slightly so he could catch his friend's eye. “We can’t just sit by, watching and waiting for someone to find something when we could at least be helping.” Katsuki’s eyes dart between the two, watching as Deku’s resolve starts to show cracks and Shoto’s voice catches slightly as he fights back the tears that he had probably been holding at bay since Deku had called.
“What if it was Ochako down there? You wouldn’t just sit by idly and let others do all the work so please don’t ask us to. All we want to do is help, any way we can. That’s all. Please don’t deny us that.” Izuku sucks in a breath at Shoto’s deceptively calm words, only just managing to keep his cry at bay by covering his mouth with his hands. Silent tears were already rolling down his cheeks when he shook his head, his eyes still trained on the ground between them. The silence between them was heavy and uncomfortable, making Katsuki feel a little irritable. This was wasting time, Izuku was wasting time. This whole situation was shit and standing around making each other feel guilty and depressed wasn’t doing anything other than keeping you waiting.
Deku sniffled, wiping away his tears before looking up at Shoto with those damned pity filled eyes again. “Ok,” he said simply, nodding his head more to himself than to them, like he needed the extra confirmation, “this way.” Shoto gave him a strained smile, something small and pain filled that looked more like he was trying to force back tears more than anything. “Thank you Izuku,” he said solemnly. The greenett nodded again, offering his own pained smile before turning and heading back the way he had come. With a sigh Shoto’s shoulders slumped, his face crumbling. Katsuki let out a shaky breath, lifting his hand to curl it over the one still pressed against his chest and squeeze gently. Shoto took a deep breath, his eyes closing for just a second before snapping back open, his mismatched eyes filled with a hard determination. “Come on,” Katsuki jerked his head towards where Izuku had gone, taking a step forward and tugging on Shoto’s hand to get him moving.
He doesn’t let go of the other man’s hand as they make their way up the heap of debris, Shoto’s grip tight and warm. It grounds him, reminds Katsuki that he isn’t alone in this. It’s a horrible thought, being grateful that he’s not the only one who's on the brink of losing it all but he is grateful because he’s sure that without Shoto he would have lost it the moment he had seen what you were buried under.
No one said anything when Izuku sets them up as part of the clearing crew, just glances up at them and gives them those horrible pity filled stares that had Katsuki itching to yell at them and tell them to shove off. He doesn’t though, Shoto giving him that look that he had perfected over the years that had Katsuki biting his tongue and on his best behaviour. He had gotten it from you, Katsuki was sure of it. It was too similar not to have been and he was half way convinced that you had spent hours of your time together teaching the other man how to perfect it. His only saving grace was the kids hadn’t yet picked it, though he could easily imagine Reo giving it to Kasui when he failed to keep his opinions to himself. They easily fell into line with the others, taking their place in the chain of people moving chunks of concrete and household goods. It’s repetitive and physically demanding work and Katsuki quickly works up a sweat but at least he’s doing something.
He’s seen these sorts of things before. Had been involved in enough fights and rescue missions to be familiar with the kind of devastation that a collapsed building leaves behind but there’s something different about it this time and Katsuki knows that it’s because you’re down there somewhere, trapped under a mountain of rubble and all the crap people cram in to their houses. Every shift in the crumbled remains of the building is a pocket of air being swallowed up and the possibility of you being crushed under the weight of the collapsed building. Every flare up of fire that isn’t caused by Shoto comes with the swell of hope that it’s you, kid clutched in your arms and looking worse for wear but alive all the same, smiling triumphantly before collapsing into his and Shoto’s arms. That hope is short lived, the fire just something still smouldering sparking to life when exposed to the air.
At some point Ito showed up, giving them a grim nod as he walked by, what looked like a tone of brick hovering above his head. Ochako also made an appearance, using her quirk to quickly lift away debris that were trapping any survivors they came across. They found a fair few, kids and adults with broken bones and a few semi serious injuries, they even found the odd pet trapped amongst the crumbled building. Hell, Shoto even found some kid's goldfish, the glass bowl cracked and half filled with rocks but the fish was alive at least. What they didn’t find though was you, or the kid you had risked your life for.
They had been at it for hours, the sun fully up now and reporters circling like vultures around a fresh corpse. The small mountain of rubble was now level with the ground and they were making headway in working their way down into the hole but things were starting to get more dangerous the deeper into the unknown they went. Most of the heroes and rescue workers that had been here when they arrived were gone, sent off to get rest and replaced with new people to carry on the work. Someone had tried to get Katsuki and Shoto to go home, to go back to their kids but they had both refused, knowing full well that the boys would understand. They were heroes who had a job to do and they damned well weren’t going home until they had found you. Izuku had stuck around as well though it was clear he was exhausted but Katsuki didn’t tell him to go home and he wouldn’t, not until it was clear that the greenett would do more harm than good if he stayed. Anyway, Ochako was there to keep an eye on him and there was no way she would allow him to run himself into the ground, even for a friend. So they kept going, until Katsuki’s arms aches so much he could barely lift anything and Shoto looked close to passing out.
Grunting Katsuki collapsed back onto a scorched and ripped chair, groaning loudly at how badly his shoulder aches. Fuck he was tired, barely clinging on to consciousness and if he carried on he was likely to pass out. He couldn’t though, they hadn’t found you yet and he refused to go home without you. He wouldn’t fail the boys like that. One way or another he was taking you home, back to your family. The reality though was that the longer this went on the more likely it was that you wouldn’t make it. It had already been eight hours and even if you had somehow managed to make it this far you probably didn’t have that long left. Air had to be running low and there was also the possibility that in their attempts to find you they would cause a collapse. For all they knew you could already be injured, bleeding out and unable to heal. You might even already be dead and all they would find was your bloody and limp body, nothing to take back to boys other than heartbreak and sorrow. And what’s he doing? Just sat there feeling sorry for himself whilst you're down there somewhere alone and in the dark. Fuck. He useless, bloody pathetic. How can he call himself a hero if he can’t even keep the people he loved safe?
Before he could spiral down any further there was a dull thud in front of him followed by the press of something warm against his leg. Opening his eyes just slightly, Katsuki looked down at Shoto. He was sitting between Katsuki’s spread legs, his whole body tipped to the side and his head resting on Katsuki’s thigh. He looked a mess, his face streaked with dirt and sweat and his hair barely even still being held in place with his hair tie. He looks so tired and despondent, frail even and that wasn’t something Katsuki had ever associated with the other man. Delicate and doll like sure but never frail, never like he would break if someone so much as looked at him.
Letting out a deep breath Katsuki lifted his tired arm and placed his hand on Shoto’s head, gently smoothing the other man’s hair down and trying not to get it tangled around his gloves. Shoto let out a shaky sigh, his breath cold as it puffed out across Katsuki’s leg and made the skin underneath his trousers tingle. Katsuki didn’t know what to do. His quirk was useless and he wasn’t exactly known for being the comforting, emotional kind. He felt useless and it wasn’t a feeling Katsuki liked or was used to. He was a man of action, that’s what you called him and though they had been helping clear away debris for hours it wasn’t enough. He felt restless and on edge, his palms itching to let off an explosion or two. He wanted someone to blame, someone he could scream at and beat the shit out of but there wasn’t anyone he could direct that towards. He couldn’t blame the kid, they were young and scared and lacked the kind of control they would need in those kinds of situations. He could probably lay some of the blame on the kids' parents thoug, on the landlord for letting the building get so bad or even the builders for their shoddy work and bypassing the country's strict building regulations. He could even blame you, always running into situations like you were invincible, determined to save everyone you came across even if it put you at risk. He wouldn’t though, couldn’t blame you for doing your job and acting the same way he and Shoto would have but he wanted to, so fucking badly. He wanted to be angry with you, to yell and scream and call you stupid and reckless and a bloody selfish idiot with no sense of self preservation because surly that burning fiery rage would be better than the mix of pain, grief and helplessness he was currently feeling.
A shadow fell across them, cutting off the bright midday sun. Squinting Katsuki looked up at Deku as he stepped in front of them, the greenett haloed with a soft golden glow. He looked tired, covered in dirt and blood and sweat, swaying slightly where he stood but he was still standing at least, still living up to All Might's example and refusing to give up when there were still people out there that needed him. It’s one of the reasons why the nerd was number one, that fearless determination and never wavering smile. He wasn’t smiling now though, his lips turned down in a pained frown. “Here,” he said softly, holding out a bottle of water to Katsuki. “Thanks,” Katsuki grunted, leaning forward to take it with his free hand as he slid his other one down to curl lightly around Shoto’s neck, not wanting to take away the small amount of physical comfort he could offer his husband. Thankfully the bottle wasn’t a twist cap and Katsuki was able to flip the top up easily with just his thumb before downing half the cold liquid in a couple of big gulps.
Katsuki smacked Shoto’s shoulder with the half full bottle, waving it at him but the other man just made a noncommittal grunt before turning his head and pressing his face against Katsuki’s thigh. “Oi!” he snapped, smacking Shoto lightly round the head. “Drink the damned water. I ain’t having you pass out due to dehydration. What good will you be then huh?” It was probably a little harsh but it got Shoto sitting up, taking the bottle from him without any other fussing. Katsuki watched him take a few mouthfuls, making sure he actually drank it before turning his attention to Deku. “Any updates?” The greenett sighed heavily, turning his head to the side and shaking it slightly. Katsuki let out the breath he hadn’t even realised he had been holding, his heart plummeting at the other man's words. The temperature dropped dramatically, Katsuki’s shaky breaths now visible as Shoto crumbled in on himself, barely muffling a pained sob against Katsuki’s thigh.
Katsuki had been expecting that answer but he hadn’t been ready for it.
About two hours ago a hero had turned up from the Nagano prefecture, his quirk having something to do with ground penetrating radar or something. Katsuki hadn’t been listening properly, to focused on his task to listen to Deku’s lengthy explanation. The guy called himself Pulse and from what Katsuki understood he quirk worked like ground penetrating radar. He was capable of sending pulses of electromagnetic energy down into the ground by about ten feet. He then acted like the receiving antenna and was able to decipher any data he got back. It was useful in these sort of rescue missions though he tended to keep to rock slides and other kinds of natural disasters. Since he had gotten here they had found six people, most of them still alive but only just. There had been one though, an elderly woman found clutching a photo of what was presumably her family. She had bleed out long before they had gotten to her, the removal of debris taking a lot longer now that Ito and Ochako had gone home to rest.
He had been walking over the site for the last twenty minutes, head down and staring at the ground, a deep frown on his face as he concentrated on the information his quirk was feeding back to him. Every other time he had found someone he had called out for help, waving his hands like a mad man to get someone’s attention. His arrival had given Katsuki hope that you would be found quickly but as the minutes ticked by and he remained silent that hope quickly vanished. Katsuki knew what his silence meant. Sonar's quirk didn’t pick up dead people for some reason, a flaw in his genetics but the fact that he hadn’t found anything suggested that there was nothing there to find. Nothing still breathing anyway.
Katsuki didn’t want to believe it. You were just somewhere else, hidden away in one of the parts he hadn’t yet gotten to or trapped under something that blocked his signal. You couldn’t be dead, he wouldn’t allow it. Tears pricked at his eyes, silently falling down his cheeks and leaving streaks in the dirt. His hand curled around the back of Shoto’s head, holding him close to his thigh as the other man trembled with the sobs that wracked his body. In front of him Deku still stood, fists clenched at his sides and eyes squeezed shut. He was crying as well but unlike normal he was completely silent, a river of tears streaming down his cheeks and dripping off his chin. Katsuki took a shuddering breath, trying to hold back his own breakdown but his resolve was quickly crumbling. He let out a choked of cry, hunching over until his face pressed against Shoto’s hair and his eyes screwed shut.
Gone. You were gone. Katsuki had failed you, broken the promise he had made all those years ago when you had told them exactly who you were and the horrors you had been through. He had sworn there and then to keep you safe, determined to give you the love and happiness you deserved instead of the shirt hand life had originally dealt you. He was supposed to keep you safe, they both were and yet they had lost you. They knew being a hero had its risks and they had all suffered the consequences of their chosen career but this was too much, a too bigger price to pay. What were they going to tell the boys? How were they supposed to comfort their children when they too were suffering the loss of you? Katsuki could only hope that Shinso had kept them away from the news and any fan sites, not wanting them to find out that way. He and Shoto needed to be there with them, together as a family. As together as they could be without you there with them.
“Over here!” Katsuki’s heart seemed to miss a beat at the loud cry, his eyes snapping open instantly. Breath shaky and his vision watery Katsuki slowly lifted his head and turned to look in the direction the voice had come from. There stood Sonar, waving his hands frantically in the air above his head. “Here! There’s people here!” Katsuki’s breath rushed out of him in one go, his eyes going wide. People. He had said people and maybe, just maybe that meant a woman and a child. Eyes still wide he turned back, finding Shoto sitting up and already looking at him with wide hope filled eyes. Neither of them said a word but they didn’t have to, they knew what they had to do.
They scrambled to their feet, the water bottle falling forgotten to the ground as they sprinted across the rubble to where the rescue hero was standing. Katsuki fell to his knees as soon as he got there, not even registering the pain in his knees at hitting the ground that hard. As soon as he was down he started moving chunks of concrete out of the way, throwing them behind him in his desperation to get to the people below, to get to you. Seconds later there were more hands clawing away at the rock, Shoto and Deku joining him on their knees as they tried to clear away the debris as quickly as they could. Someone was shouting, calling for more help to their location but Katsuki was too far gone to pay anything going on around him any attention. There was only one thing on his mind and that was his need to get to you because it had to be you down there, always the bloody hero and waiting till last to be rescued.
Hope bloomed in his chest once more, sharp and all consuming. He clung to it with as much desperation as he felt trying to dig you out. He could feel it in his chest, pressing up against his heart and swelling in his lungs making it hard to breathe. He felt mad with it yet still he refused to let go of it, that unrealistic feeling of hope that was all he had left but it was enough to keep him going. That small glimmer of hope that burned so brightly. He wouldn’t let go of it, not till he was holding you in his arms once more. Whether that was as a corpse or a living breathing person was yet to be seen but Katsuki hoped that it would be the latter.
Just like Pandora’s box that was all he had left.
Hope.
What a fragile and wicked thing to be left with.

Two months ago: Two weeks after the outbreak
With dull eyes, his bloody hands clutched on ripped pieces of clothing that belonged to his parents. He should've come earlier, he should've left along with everybody else from his class. But he was so stupid. He just wanted to keep his friends alive and now he suffered the consequences.
Instead, he should have been keeping his parents alive.
The more he stared at his parents' eaten corpses, his eyes began to brim with tears. He gritted his teeth as the tears eventually fell. Whimpering, his left hand held tightly to his mothers ripped bloody hand, his other hand laid on top of his fathers chest; or at least that's what he assumed.
"I-I'm sorry...I'm sorry I was-wasn't here!" Katsuki sobbed as he shut his eyes.
It wasn't long before he wiped away his tears. His hands held onto his fathers glasses as he walked away to grab a blanket. He then proceeded to cover their bodies and bowed, wishing them a goodbye to wherever they were.
He changed out of his school uniform and once he was done he grabbed supplies, car keys, and threw them in his bag. Standing in front of the door, from the corner of his eyes he saw a hanged photo.
Peering at it, his heart once again panged in hurt. His mother and father stood behind him smiling as he sat in the middle with a scowl. They wore their nicest outfit that day. It was the day Katsuki turned 17.
His hands gently grabbed the frame, he turned it around and removed the photo from it. In his hands, he shoved it in his pockets and left his house.
He didn't bother turning around, knowing that if he did, he would rather die next to his parents.
For now, he opted to go to a sanctuary where a radio he had was broadcasting. It was in a city, two hours away from here. So he headed to his mom's car that was parked in the streets. He turned the engine on but it would sputter. He did it a couple times but it never turned on.
Katsuki yelled and slammed his hands on the steering wheel. His head rested on the wheel as he figured another way to get to the city.
Sighing, he got out of the car along with his bag, walking it. If he remembered correctly, he could take the same path that he and his parents would take whenever they went there for a trip. If he only headed there with no stops, it would take at least 4 days.
He could do this, Katsuki could do this. Once he finds safety, then he would be alright. Sooner or later, this disease that's going around will be lifted and although life won't be the same, at least no one has to die anymore.
He continued walking to his destination, his mind racing, maybe his friends were alive. Maybe they made it out and are at the sanctuary waiting to be rescued. Eijiro is probably alive. Shoto's most likely alive, he had bodyguards come get him. And maybe, Izuku's alive as well.
That's right, Deku. Katsuki stopped walking, his head turned to his left where a street was in view and just along that street was Izuku's apartment. Maybe, Katsuki thought, Deku's still there.
His legs moved as he walked further down the street but he immediately stopped when he heard snarling and growling. In front, was a horde of them. They all cluttered around bumping into each other, their faces peeling off.
He stared for a minute, then turned around and walked to his destination, it doesn't matter.
Days went by, the sun went down and the moon came up. It was taking Katsuki a lot longer to get there and much harder. He lost track of the days, his mind only focusing on not dying as he came across many eating monsters.
So far, he hasn't run into anybody. Katsuki wasn't sure if that was a good or a bad thing seeing as how everything changed. Perhaps people are dangerous now and hurt others for food, weapons, or anything for survival.
Katsuki himself has even noticed that food and water is running low. Heck, the amount of times he would go into stores to eat anything he'd find nothing. No food, water, bandages, med kit, nothing. He'd sigh in annoyance when all he could find was worthless stuff.
For a few days, Katsuki would continue his walk at night but he immediately learned his lesson when one of them came out of the bushes and almost bit him. He had a laugh about it as his nerves didn't help. Instead, when it was sunrise, Katsuki would begin his walk.
Every night, he would clear out a car and sleep inside. To him it felt much safer than a home, as nobody would look in a car seeing as it's not comfortable. He felt lucky to be alive, grateful even.
But he was sure his luck had almost run out when a horde chased him down the street. He entered a grocery store, a few dead hands clutched onto his clothing but thankfully they had let go when Katsuki had slammed the door on their arms.
He gruffly groaned when he noticed where he was, he guessed it was a breakroom as there were a few tables and chairs. He looked to his side where he saw a dead guy wearing a uniform, must've been the employee.
Next to the body was a gun but no ammo. Katsuki skimmed the body, and a bullet to his head was shown. Ignoring the sight he moved forward as another door was in front. He turned the knob but it turned out to be locked.
He slammed his body onto the door so it would open, but his ears caught the attention to the door that was behind. The dead began to pound on it, almost knocking it over.
Katsuki groaned and lifted his leg to the doorknob. He wasn't going to die, he already made it this far. With a few more kicks the door knob broke and Katsuki immediately opened the door. The dead had also knocked down the door and their hands reached out to Katsuki.
Thankfully, Katsuki made it to the other side with no injuries. His luck had returned when he heard a gasp and his eyes were met with a pair of green.

1 | Despair on the Horizon
Pairing: Todoroki x Fem!Reader
Until the End Masterlist
You sit at your desk in your small, cozy apartment, engrossed in a programming project for your computer science class. The soft glow of your laptop screen illuminates the room as lines of code dance before your eyes. It's a peaceful evening, the world outside seemingly oblivious to the storm brewing in the cosmos.
Suddenly, your phone vibrates, breaking your concentration. Startled, you pick it up and see a flurry of news alerts flooding the screen. Your heart skips a beat as you read the headline: "Massive Asteroid Threatens Earth."
Panic sets in, and you feel a rush of adrenaline coursing through your veins. The room suddenly feels stifling, and you struggle to catch your breath. This can't be happening. Not now. Not when everything seemed so normal just moments ago.
Without thinking, you spring into action. You grab a backpack and fill it with essentials – a change of clothes, a water bottle, some granola bars. The world outside your apartment has transformed into chaos. People are running in every direction, their faces etched with fear and desperation. They've all seen the news, too.
You quickly join the groups of frightened civilians flooding the streets, a sea of humanity seeking refuge from the impending disaster. Sirens blare, mixing with the cacophony of terrified voices and the distant rumble of thunder. Dark clouds gather overhead, mirroring the tempest brewing within you. You have no idea where you're going, but you know your fourth-level apartment was not going to cut it.
As you begin to navigate your way through the busy streets, a stranger catches your attention. A young man, about the same age as you, with a focused and determined gaze stands out amidst the panicked crowd. How can he look so calm right now? You find yourself drawn to him, seeking comfort in his presence.
"Hey! Are you lost?" the man calls out, noticing your bewildered expression. You're the only one who seems to be paying any kind of attention to him. "We need to find shelter. Follow me!"
You hesitate for a moment, unsure if you should trust this stranger. But something in his eyes and the way he carries himself convinces you to take a leap of faith. After all, in this uproarious world, finding strength in numbers might be the key to survival.
So, without a word, you nod and fall into step behind him. As the two of you make your way through the debris-covered streets, the man's determination and strong instincts guide you safely around all sorts of commotion.
"You're doing great," the man says,  casting a quick glance your way. "Just stay close and keep moving."
"Aren't you going to tell me who you are at least?" you then ask him.
He then explains, rather briefly, that his name is Todoroki. He is a former member of the Special Assault Team in Japan. It all makes sense now, you think, as he navigates with precision, his focused gaze constantly scanning your surroundings for any potential dangers.
You tighten your grip on your backpack straps and match his pace, grateful for his guidance. The two of you exchange brief glances, sharing in a silent understanding in the midst of chaos. There's an unspoken reassurance in Todoroki's presence, a sense that together you can face whatever lies ahead.
As the word begins to crumble around you, you find comfort in the short conversations that pass between you and Todoroki. He shares stories of his time in the Special Assault Team, recounting intense training sessions and missions. His voice carries a tinge of sadness as he speaks of the comrades he so obviously misses.
"We've been trained to handle high-pressure situations," he explains, his voice steady as the two of you weave between a plethora of people. "But nothing could have prepared us for something like this."
You nod in agreement, your mind swirling with questions and uncertainties. The weight of the impending disaster presses down upon you, but Todoroki's resolute demeanor gives you a glimmer of hope.
As you navigate the streets, the sound of crumbling buildings and distant explosions echo through the air. Suddenly, a sharp crack pierces the chaos, followed by a deafening rumble. Without warning, a large section of a nearby building collapses, sending a cascade of debris hurtling toward you.
Instinct takes over as you dive to the side, narrowly avoiding the incoming danger. But before you can catch your breath, more debris comes tumbling down. Without hesitation, Todoroki then leaps towards you, using his body as a shield to push you out of harm's way just in time.
The impact knocks the air out of both of you as you hit the ground, disoriented and shaken. The dust then settles around you, revealing the destruction left in the wake of the collapse. You look up at Todoroki whose face is smeared with dirt and bruises.
"Are you okay?" he asks first, his voice filled with genuine concern.
You nod, a mix of gratitude and adrenaline coursing through your veins. "Thank you, Todoroki. You saved me."
He offers you a small, reassuring smile, his hand reaching out to help you up. "Let's look out for each other from now on," he says, his voice steady despite the chaos around you. "We're in this together."
"Yeah," you hum, dusting yourself off and catching your breath.
As you continue your journey through the crumbling city, you encounter several desperate survivors, each with their own stories of struggle and loss. Todoroki's presence instills a sense of calm amidst the chaos, and people gravitate towards him, seeking guidance just as you had.
"We need to find shelter," Todoroki declares, his voice carrying authority. "Somewhere we can regroup and gather our strength."
As if on cue, you come across a dilapidated building that appears relatively intact. The entrance is littered with debris, but Todoroki quickly assesses the situation and leads the way inside.
"Everybody, let's secure the area," Todoroki then instructs, gesturing to a few of the survivors who have joined your group. "Make sure there are no imminent threats!"
He commands the attention of the group, assigning tasks and delegating responsibilities with a cool and collected demeanor. Despite the chaos outside, there's a semblance of order within these walls. You find yourself drawn to Todoroki's leadership, and a newfound sense of purpose washes over you. Together, you and the group work to fortify the shelter, moving debris and creating makeshift barriers. It's a small victory amidst the crumbling world, but it fills you with a sense of accomplishment.
As night falls and exhaustion begins to settle in, the group gathers in a makeshift common area. The air is heavy with uncertainty, but the flickering candles cast a warm glow on the faces surrounding you. Todoroki takes a seat beside you, a weary yet determined expression etched upon his features.
"We did well today," he says, his voice filled with a mixture of weariness and resilience.
"We?" you grin with a shake of your head. "You did most of the work."
"Well, it wouldn't have happened at all if you hadn't been the first one to stop and see me. Now get some rest, okay?"
You smile softly as Todoroki walks away. As you settle down for the night, you can't help but wonder what lies ahead. The world may be fractured, but amidst the chaos, there's a flicker of resilience, an indomitable spirit that refuses to be extinguished. And with Todoroki by your side, you begin to believe that survival is a challenge you're ready to face head-on.
