personally, I think people are allowed to ship a “toxic ship” as long as it’s fictional and they can separate fiction from reality. shipping a fictional “problematic ship” doesn’t mean you’re “abuse apologist” in real life. the same way people who enjoy fictional villains are not “murderers” in real life.

it’s okay if you think this ship makes you uncomfortable and so you personally dislike it. what you can and should do is avoid their contents and refrain from interacting with people who do ship them. that mute and block buttons are your friends.

what you shouldn’t do, though, is harass people who ship them and brag about how they’re “red flags irl” and how you’re “morally superior” simply because of fictional characters.

I promise you, minding your own business and not caring about what ship strangers on the internet ship will make your fandom so much less toxic and a whole lot more enjoyable.

One Piece Crack Ship War - Submission post!

Welcome to the One Piece Ship War - crack edition!

What is a crack ship?

A crack ship is a (in this case romantic/sexual) ship that has little to no basis in canon.

When will my ship qualify for this tournament?

They will automatically qualify (after having been submitted) when:

The characters involved have NO canon interaction*, and are not part of the same crew (no matter how popular the ship is).

The characters involved have 1 short canon interaction and less than 10 fics for them on AO3 (as a side pairing counts too)

They might qualify if:**

They have no canon interaction but are part of the same crew or organisation.

They have 1 short canon interaction but more than 10 fics on AO3

They have 1 long canon interactions or 2/3 short ones and less than 10 fics on AO3

They have multiple canon interactions but NO fics on AO3

It's an incredibly funny ship (but you gotta convince me it's crack!)

These ships will not qualify on principal:

ANY ship between Strawhats (honorary Strawhats don't count if they haven't met a certain Strawhat - examples: BrookNami does not qualify, SanjiVivi does not qualify, but BrookVivi would qualify)

The top 25 ships (or something, be sensible) on AO3.

*canon interactions include fillers, cover stories, specials, and movies (though I haven't seen the last 2 yet and I don't remember much of the other ones, so these might slip through, but I'm counting on you to honor this rule). Also, I won't know nor check interactions in the manga (that haven't been animated yet), so something might slip through there as well. Just honor the rules, please.

**Any ships in the 'might qualify' category will be judged on crackyness by me first, and when I'm in doubt, I will put them up for a vote - so expect a few polls for this.

Rules!

All characters must be from One Piece (no OCs).

Must be a crack ship according to above guidelines.

Ships that were in the previous shipping war tournament are allowed in this one too, as long as they follow the previous rule.

No moral limitations. These are fictional characters, not real people. Go wild. (But be prepared for 'problematic' ships to be voted out in round 1 or 2.) I will not start discourse/moral discussions about any ships! (messages about morally questionable ship are likely to be ignored and deleted)

Poly ships are allowed! I will cap them at 5 characters, however, and at least 1 character should follow the interaction rules stated above. (examples: JinbeRobinBrook or KidLawLu are not allowed. RobinNamiKiller would be allowed, on grounds of Killer having no interactions with the other 2 (I think? 😂)) Again, be sensible here.

All characters involved have to be humanoid. No concepts, objects, or full animals (fishmen/merfolk, minks, and Chopper are allowed).

You can submit multiple ships, but use a new form for each ship.

Do not hate on other ships, just support your own.

You are allowed and encouraged to submit fanart! As a lot of these ship won't have official art with all characters in it, it will come down to fanart for the most of it ((bad) edits are also very much allowed). However, it needs to be your own or you need permission from the artist before submitting it! However, if you haven't gotten permission yet when submitting, you can always send me a link to the fanart later. Without picture submitted, there might be a chance your ship will have to compete without a picture.

Keep the main images SFW and spoiler free. Propaganda can contain nsfw stuff and manga spoilers, as long as it's announced up front (eg: [Spoilers ahead]/[nsfw ahead])

Submit only through the google form below. Submisions through asks or reblogs will not be accepted.

Oh yeah, and in case you're wondering... All submitted ships that pass the crack ship bar will make it into the tournament! No limitation on how many contestants there will be or how many submissions a ship needs. I want this to be an opportunity for all to discover new fun and silly ships!

Have a leak. Imma go throw up.

Aerith says "shall we?" And holds out her hand on the Ferris wheel. Cloud takes it. She then pats the seat next to her as if to say "sit here". Cloud goes "uhh" and sits opposite.

The car shudders and Aerith falls into Cloud's arms and their faces are close. Intense staring like they'll kiss but they both let go and sit next to each other.

There were some fireworks and she starts opening up.

"You surprised me at first, you were just like him. Same clothes, the way you walked, the way you carried yourself. Whenever I looked at you...i saw him. But now I'm interested in you. I'm trying so hard to find you"

"I'm right here"

"Yeah you are but"

Long pause

"Hey did Tifa talk to you?"

Flashback to Tifa and Aerith talking

"Hey, Aerith, I talked to Cloud. He said he remembers Zack. How they were friends five years ago"

Back to the sky wheel

"I don't think so. At least not about anything important."

"oh."

Aerith comes close and wraps her hands around Cloud's arm and rests her head on his shoulder

"Aerith?"

"Just until the ride's over"

Cloud grabs her hand and holds it. They both smile and grip each other tight. Fireworks go off and the screen fades out.

No kiss.

I just learned that apparently there's an acotar ship war of Vassien and Jurvassa...

was I the only one who assumed/head cannoned that they were a threesome? Like normally I'm not big on polyamory (no hate just not my cup of tea) but even I thought it was obvious(hehe).

Like they've been hanging out together for a while now...alone ...just the three of them...with their own frustrations....

I've seen several posts now arguing against Elriel because Elriel shippers have conflicting opinions on what they next book would be about. But the thing is, I have yet to see an Elucien or Gwynriel common book idea. Sure, there's general ideas-Koschei, mortal queens, etc. But no clear plot.

For example, the argument I saw against Elriel was that some people think Elain will by a spy, some that she'll become a magic user/seer, some that she'll just stay a quiet gardener, and so on. And that some people think there will be an Autumn Court plot, some think it will be a Koschei plot, some think it will have to do with the Cauldron/Mother.

But the thing is, neither of the other ships have a clear idea of the next book either.

For Elucien, some people think they'll go to Day Court, others Autumn Court, some think they'll stay in the Night Court, and some people think Dusk Court (though that theory is more popular with Elriel/Gwynriels). Some think Elain will become an emissary like/with Lucien, some think she'll stay a quiet gardener, some think she'll become evil and with Lucien overthrow the Night Court (that one is rarer).

For Gwynriel, some people think the plotline will revolve around Koschei, others around Illyria, others around Dusk Court, others around Autumn Court. Some theorize Gwyn will be a lightsinger, others that she has fire magic, others water magic, and many think she'll just use her strength as a Carynthian.

My point in all of this isn't to discount anyone's theories. Though I have opinions, my point isn't to fight any ships. Simply to say that you can't fight Elriel for not having a clear plot for the next book when neither of the other ships do either.

It’s obvious that Error is super jealous of Tifa. Obviously jealous of her beauty I mean everyone mentions it in the game, Tifa is beyond everyone and the other girl can’t compare. (just like how she can’t compare in polls in real life either). But she’s MOST jealous of what Cloud and Tifa have. Their bond. She’s insanely jealous of them together and it’s why she does everything she can to try to get in between them. “Cherish Tifa” but date me and pick me over her. Desperate as fuck. Disgusting half human being. 100% selfish Cetra bitch. She will NEVER have what CT have. She really thought she could force him on herself. That’s what you get deadith.

She literally admits she's jealous. First of their friendship, then of them being out in the GS together, and I think she also says in ToTP she's jealous of Tifa's capability.

Meanwhile you never hear Yuffie say she's jealous of Tifa. Yuffie torments Cloud like she's his lil sister and wants him to make all the moves on Tifa while she sits in the audience eating popcorn and enjoying the show 🤣

Yuffie is a better friend than Aerith.
